My overall analysis on Sektor and Bi-Han’s relationship and how I still think a Bi han redemption is possible.

If you don’t wanna read all this let me know, I’ll give you a summary

#I’m sad about bireena yes but #it wasn’t my top concern #it’s no secret to anyone that bi han is my favorite character #all I wanted was for him to be redeemed #I suppose wishing for that is too early in the game though #I’m just sick of seeing him subjected to the same cycle every timeline. slowly realizing more and more that the sm boycott effort is gonna amount to nothing in the end, and this is not the way we should be going about the riize situation.

i loved seunghan when he was in the group, and i am still an ot7 fan. but at a point, i think we need to think of how much of our time and energy we're willing to spend fighting for something that has such a small chance of actually happening. sm is gonna bounce back from any stock lost from the boycott because they are one of the big 3. they have like 4 of the biggest groups in kpop rn: nct, aespa, red velvet, riize. there's just no way either boycotting riize or boycotting all of sm would actually be detrimental enough to get a member who's been terminated from the group back in.

and while i don't agree with the ot6 fans who are being unreasonable, i think some ot7 fans have been just as bad. this fandom is so toxic and rotten, every day it just seems to get worse. and i don't like the narrative that most ot7 fans were spreading about ot6 kfans-- how they were just mad that seunghan was dating pre debut. that isn't why they were mad, they really didn't care about that. it's the fact that he took pictures of him with his possibly/alleged underage girlfriend (it's honestly bad enough with/without her being possible underage, which i don't have confirmation on) at what looks like a hotel and presumably sent it to his friends in a group chat (which was how it got leaked). that's why they wanted him out of the group.

personally, i don't believe that a member should get kicked out of a group or put on hiatus without a proper reason why. and seunghan's hiatus and termination is really messy. but there are valid reasons why kfans weren't too big on him. the problem is there have been many idols kicked out for things they didn't do, and others who have been caught doing really fucked up and nasty things and rightfully kicked out of the group, but it's hard to know which idols are innocent or not when there's no organization. and when we jump on a narrative train and blow something super big out of proportion, the facts and proper investigation of the situation gets lost in the mess of things.

what should have happened was things being properly investigated back in october 2023 before seunghan was ever put on hiatus, and a decision made from there whether to keep him in the group or kick him out based on that.

instead, we have the other 6 members who clearly want seunghan back tired of the state of everything (rightfully so), ot7 and ot6 fans fighting a full blown war every day without logical thinking, and misinformation being spread left and right. there's no organization, there's no firm confirmation on anything, all of this is just such a big mess.

now let me be clear IF it's true that there was anything suspicious going on between seunghan and his girlfriend, then i would obviously no longer support him. as it is, i'm not going to stop supporting him until there's firm evidence. i'm tired of kpop stans making rash decisions based on half truths instead of just being patient and waiting for the facts to come out. staying neutral during unclear situations is a valid stance to take. please let's all stop jumping to conclusions from both sides.

Most Sherlock Holmes adaptations I've seen tend to place their Final Problem towards the mid point of the series (or even a bit earlier) - it's also in my opinion the best way of going about it, so you have time enough for the characters to adjust after the reunion but they know each other well enough for the events of Fina to be devastating.

Sherlock & Co is done with 20 of the adventures. How many are there? Fifty-something? Almost sixty? Let's say we'll be entering mid-point territory after the 25th story.

So let's pretend for a moment that we have 5 more stories until The Final Problem. Ok.

Estimating an adventure at 3 episodes each, that would mean little over 3 months - maybe 3 and a half? Starting, of course, from the end of Sign of Four, which will be somewhere in December.

So let's say 3, maybe 4 months into 2025. That would be, what? Late march, early april?

Early april?

John having to tell the listeners that Sherlock is dead, in early april?

Quick calendar search reveals what I was praying it would - the 1st of april will be on a Tuesday next year.

So what I'm saying

What I'm saying is Sherlock &Co has the opportunity to do the funniest fucking thing

🪱 Wiggle Wednesday🪱

Thank you @paperbackribs who tagged me last week, I saw it while I was in class and immediately forgot until I saw people posting their things today. But I'm always excited to share my current brainworms

This is a scene from a fic that I pick at every now and then, so it's basically always on the brain. It started as something about Lucas and Steve and trying to explain away the slight anachronism of Steve (popular and rich) being in Nikes before Jordan made them cool (thank you Air) and it has turned into something much more about Lucas and also his Mom relating through a shared love of basketball and Steve is also there.

It’s a Friday night after the end of the world, and strangely Lucas is at a basketball game.

Or maybe it’s only strange because it’s so normal.

A Friday night in a small town and there isn’t much to do except support the home team. Only Mom won’t watch football, she calls it barbaric, so she reserves all her team spirit for November when basketball season starts. Lucas’ skin itches a little under the Hawkins Tigers shirt he’s wearing, as he’s pretending to be normal when a couple weeks ago he learned monsters were real. What can he do though? Mrs. Byers has Will on house arrest, Mike is still mourning Eleven, and Dustin hasn’t been allowed out since Will’s Lazarus act.

Maybe he’s being too sensitive. Steve is here, who Lucas mostly knows from Mike complaining about being Nancy’s stupid boyfriend. Steve is playing like everything is fine, even though Lucas knows Steve knows. He heard whispering about it with Nancy when he went to the bathroom the last time he was at Mike’s. But Steve is smiling as he paces down the court. Miles better than the other players around him, when Steve has the ball Lucas feels like he does when he’s watching a real basketball game on the couch with his Mom.

If Steve can act like things are normal. If he can sink three pointer after rebound after assist, maybe it’s okay that Lucas is wearing his Tiger green. He floats down the court and everyone cheers. But no one cheers right. When #21 Hagan gets a rebound off of Seymour’s best player, a girl’s voice screams so loud it makes his throat hurt. No one cheers that way for Steve. It’s just excitement for the game, not for him and the way he is playing.

When the game ends, Hawkins 73: Seymour 42, and the crowd storms the court Lucas stands by his Mom in the bleachers. She hates feeling the push of the crowd against her and as he gets older, and people’s hands get rougher, he’s starting to understand. He’s too old to be caught standing by his Mom though. After everything, he knows better than to move too far away from her; going to the game with your Mom is one thing, being the kid getting called out over the intercom because she can’t find you would be life ruining.

Lucas watches the thinning crowd while he waits. Parents and girlfriends crowding their sweaty players. He doesn’t want to get caught looking at any of those boys for too long now that they aren’t playing. He isn’t sure why. So he keeps looking for something familiar.

Steve is standing beside a short, dark haired man who’s got what his father calls a beer gut. He doesn’t look anything like Steve, but he’s also the only adult anywhere near him. He’s the only person at all that’s really near Steve. They’re talking excitedly about something. He claps Steve on the back and whatever he says next has Steve looking down toward the floor.

“Is that Steve’s dad?” he asks his mom before thinking about why that might be a weird question to ask her.

“Who?” The way she says it makes him sure she hadn’t actually heard the question. She’d caught a name, when he interrupted her conversation with the lady next to them, but not enough to answer. It’s a free chance to drop the issue. To say sorry, never mind, and go back to watching people move on the floor below them.

“That guy,” she slaps his hand down as he goes to point. “The guy next to Steve, number 8, is that his dad?”

“How do you know him?” The question, instead of an answer, startles him enough that he looks at her instead of Steve. Stern, he knows he doesn’t want to lie to her, but he also isn’t sure how to say that this random high school boy saved two of his best friends’ older siblings' lives.

“He’s Nancy’s boyfriend. Mike talks about him.”

If he’d just waited. He would have gotten his question answered without asking Mom. They both watch as that man says one more thing to Steve, shakes his hand, and walks out of the gym. “I don’t see Nancy here.” Because they both know he doesn’t really need his other question answered anymore.

“I don’t think she really likes sports.”

Mom sucks her teeth, a judgmental tchk that has heat climbing the back of his neck when it's not even for him. "Well that's a shame, he's a good player." There's finally enough space on the floor that they could leave. He wants, desperately, for them to just go cause something about this conversation is making him feel guilty again. "Do you want to to say hi?"

There's nothing he wants less than that. Lucas thinks if he has to go up to this guy, who went toe to toe with a monster, while his mom trails behind he'll die. Lucas thinks if he says hi to a guy who has only seen him maybe twice in the context of Mike Wheeler's house, and has to sit there while Steve blankly accepts his congrats he'll melt into the floor.

"Can we just go home? I still have homework."

was discussing what early ice king might have been like with friends and pointed out that his library is solid proof there was a period of time where he was coherent enough to still care about academia but fucked enough to be building the ice kingdom and now im just imagining ik doing weird and fucked up "experiments" w his magic nd generally being a very incompetent scientist

+ this led to us joking that for a brief window of time ik and bonnie were academic enemies in early ooo before ice king decided to forsake all of that nerd shit because it was embarrassing and then forgot about his interest in the first place

bonnie hated his ass for trying to bring magic into science and considered him a total crackpot (which he very much was at this point his "research" would probs be completely incoherent) so when he gave up on it she was thrilled she didnt have to acknowledge his insane ass anymore. and then the kidnapping started. lmao

WAIT- is this one of the alternate timelines created from the space-time sword ("Shintō Amenogozen")!? 👀

I'm an anime-only bsd enjoyer & ever since that damn sword popped up after Atsushi & Akutagawa killed him on the boat but he was able to erase/undo(?) that timeline, I've been thinking that technically means there's multiple timelines. This would be the one where Fukuchi won that conflict we just saw or something else entirely is going on given the way he's dressed (if that even is him)! 👀👀👀

#plz no spoilers I want to watch it without knowing whats going on yet; I think it absolutely has to do with multiple timelines though since #Fukuchi got absolutely folded from our POV. look i too am pretty conflicted about the shiv pregnancy storyline (and its potential to be a narrative misstep, especially if season 4 is going to continue to be 1 ep = 1 day), and everyone's reactions and feelings are totally valid, but let's not pretend like it came completely out of nowhere. aside from the fact shiv has repeatedly been shown turning down alcohol, people have been theorising she was pregnant based solely on her being a woman putting her hand on her stomach at the end of season 3. plus all the talk of making babies and freezing embryos and horrific conversations about one's suitability for motherhood. one of the show's main themes is family trauma and the neverending cycle of abuse, sooooo yeah. them's the breaks. also, sarah said on the official podcast it was apparently always something that was on the writer's table because shiv is a woman

do i want tom and shiv to get back together because of a baby? hell no. is it a tired cliché? hell yeah. can they pull it off? i am reserving my judgement. for now

was getting a twelve pack of beer a bad idea? probably. am i enjoying it though? absolutely.

#im just glad i didn't end up getting the vodka like id originally been thinking #bc i would've ended up actually getting drunk on school nights #can't actually get drunk with beer bc i get full before i can drink enough to actually get drunk #but i am enjoying the feeling of killing brain cells by mixing it with benadryl #could this be the start of a bad habit? possibly #but im not too worried for now bc it's only beer #now if i start cooking barbiturates in the microwave ill know ive hit bottom #but ive got 4 more years to go so im saving that for later. preferably my last year #ive got a list of substances and a general timeline so i don't end up empty handed with another two years left to go #i hope this blog doesn't end up turning into a drug log over the next four years lol #well if thst happens ig i can just create a sideblog for my mental breakdowns #if folks have recommendations for stuff that might help im open to suggestions #well besides cigarettes bc i am currently fighting the urge to start smoking with everything i have in me #bc i know for a fact I'll get hooked right away and it'll ruin my life by making me light up a cig every few minutes #I'd be taking smoke breaks every hour between classes #I've only smoked like twice in my life and i cannot stop thinking abt how good it would feel to start smoking #just. its not even the nicotine it's just so easy to romanticize self destruction with cigarettes yknow #it feels like you're actually doing something. like it makes the suffering more tangible or something #idk maybe i might try it and realize it's actually nothing like i kept thinking and be turned off by it #but with the way i cant stop obsessing over them when i haven't even started? im not taking my chances lol #anyway. feel free to ignore the mental breakdown lol this will definitely keep happening more in the future #alcohol tw #mine #vent
