Dude it is SO FUN and EXCITING to see a reoccurring reader. If you've commented a handful of times on an author's work, I guarantee that they recognize you. You can't imagine how many times I've excitedly informed my friends "the person with the funny cat image commented!" I just realized that in Sherlock&Co’s the final problem John will have to share it. It’s not going to be like in for example BBC’s Sherlock where it was a sad scene. It will be worse.

Sherlock dies or well “dies” and John somehow recorded it. Oh god Jonk is going to make an intro about it being the last episode.

The idea of Sherlocks pacing space is so special to me especially bc John had made sure to keep it clear. He's seen him pacing and instead of trying him to stop/saying it's annoying not that Sherlock would listen he has instead cleared him a specific place for his pacing. being a writer leads to a genuinely helpful but also very stupid kind of mindfulness where you'll be having a sobbing breakdown or the worst anxiety attack of your life and think "okay, I really need to pay attention to how this feels. so I can incorporate it into my fanfiction."

Ok putting this out there before I go listen to part 7 but I really don't know how to feel about Mary.

Cause on the one hand I wanted to like her and I was excited in part 1 when they got her photo and John recognised her

And then immediately in part 2 she hears about the missing boy and that they need her help but once they show her the diamond (from Sholto) she's like nope byeee

Which like🤨 girl there's a missing child and you can help what do you mean bye

But then she changes her mind and during the pub scene I'm thinking ok I'm being unfair she's clearly scared of him

And yk she seems alright

And then during part 3 I actually started to like her. Multiple reasons. Anyway I started to like her and then there was the war story too which was.... Rough.

B U T

When she asked John out for a date* and he was taken off guard and she added "This is the most confident I’ve ever been so feel free to shoot me down and destroy that noooo problem"

Idk that just rubbed me the wrong way. Big time.

Like if I'd have been in his place and someone I liked asked me out and when I didn't immediately reply said that? I'd kinda feel a bit guilt-tripped. And probably like them less?

Is that just me?

I know she was probably just trying to lighten the mood or something but. Yeah.

[*I'm assuming??? She asked John if he was (still) single?? Because if I'd have heard someone say he found what he was looking for (another person) and he finally feels like himself I would 100% assume he's taken, or at least in love with that other person and hasn't made a move yet]

And she was in one episode after that but yeah feelings unchanged after part4

And now I'm sitting here being amused at Sherlock admitting he doesn't like her and thinking wait, do I not like her either? I mean I.... Don't... But idk if I'm neutral or there's actual dislike.

I'm either gonna feel guilty and sad or vindicated by the end of this whole story.

Cause if there's a love interest that's becoming very important to one of the MCs but you know they aren't sticking around there's 3 possibilities:

1. They move away - plausible if we hadn't had John describe (on Patreon) the Halloween party they had and not mention her at all. Would she not stay for the party before moving away? It can't be her going on the run cuz then the story's not really over, and they're trying to keep them self contained. So. Plausible but unlikely.

2. Surprise villain - Sherlock made some allusions to her knowing more than she lets on :)) but yeah, unlikely. I would feel a bit vindicated for my guilt trip grudge butttttt yeahh no I'm pretty sure she's being genuine.

3. Death - yeah hate to say it but very very likely. And you just know something Very Bad will happen bc John's so serious in the intro and if we eliminate the Mary Betrayal thing (cuz again unlikely) then it has to be a death. So either the boy they're trying to rescue or the new-found love interest. And I'm very much hoping it's not the boy bc he's. You know. A kid. Sooo. Not looking great for Mary... :/

And honestly I'm on his side I mean if I'd lived with someone for a year and we went on crime-solving adventures together and faced danger together and had each other's backs and he was the best friend I've had in a lonnggg time, maybe ever, and suddenly there's this "sexy army babe" and he's known her for a couple days/ a week and suddenly he acts as if she's as important to him as I am???? I would be pretty fucking pissed too. Really, really pissed.

And yeah they trauma-bonded with was nice but my point very much still stands
