đŸȘ± Wiggle WednesdayđŸȘ±
Thank you @paperbackribs who tagged me last week, I saw it while I was in class and immediately forgot until I saw people posting their things today. But I'm always excited to share my current brainworms
This is a scene from a fic that I pick at every now and then, so it's basically always on the brain. It started as something about Lucas and Steve and trying to explain away the slight anachronism of Steve (popular and rich) being in Nikes before Jordan made them cool (thank you Air) and it has turned into something much more about Lucas and also his Mom relating through a shared love of basketball and Steve is also there.
It’s a Friday night after the end of the world, and strangely Lucas is at a basketball game.
Or maybe it’s only strange because it’s so normal.
A Friday night in a small town and there isn’t much to do except support the home team. Only Mom won’t watch football, she calls it barbaric, so she reserves all her team spirit for November when basketball season starts. Lucas’ skin itches a little under the Hawkins Tigers shirt he’s wearing, as he’s pretending to be normal when a couple weeks ago he learned monsters were real. What can he do though? Mrs. Byers has Will on house arrest, Mike is still mourning Eleven, and Dustin hasn’t been allowed out since Will’s Lazarus act.
Maybe he’s being too sensitive. Steve is here, who Lucas mostly knows from Mike complaining about being Nancy’s stupid boyfriend. Steve is playing like everything is fine, even though Lucas knows Steve knows. He heard whispering about it with Nancy when he went to the bathroom the last time he was at Mike’s. But Steve is smiling as he paces down the court. Miles better than the other players around him, when Steve has the ball Lucas feels like he does when he’s watching a real basketball game on the couch with his Mom.
If Steve can act like things are normal. If he can sink three pointer after rebound after assist, maybe it’s okay that Lucas is wearing his Tiger green. He floats down the court and everyone cheers. But no one cheers right. When #21 Hagan gets a rebound off of Seymour’s best player, a girl’s voice screams so loud it makes his throat hurt. No one cheers that way for Steve. It’s just excitement for the game, not for him and the way he is playing.
When the game ends, Hawkins 73: Seymour 42, and the crowd storms the court Lucas stands by his Mom in the bleachers. She hates feeling the push of the crowd against her and as he gets older, and people’s hands get rougher, he’s starting to understand. He’s too old to be caught standing by his Mom though. After everything, he knows better than to move too far away from her; going to the game with your Mom is one thing, being the kid getting called out over the intercom because she can’t find you would be life ruining.
Lucas watches the thinning crowd while he waits. Parents and girlfriends crowding their sweaty players. He doesn’t want to get caught looking at any of those boys for too long now that they aren’t playing. He isn’t sure why. So he keeps looking for something familiar.
Steve is standing beside a short, dark haired man who’s got what his father calls a beer gut. He doesn’t look anything like Steve, but he’s also the only adult anywhere near him. He’s the only person at all that’s really near Steve. They’re talking excitedly about something. He claps Steve on the back and whatever he says next has Steve looking down toward the floor.
“Is that Steve’s dad?” he asks his mom before thinking about why that might be a weird question to ask her.
“Who?” The way she says it makes him sure she hadn’t actually heard the question. She’d caught a name, when he interrupted her conversation with the lady next to them, but not enough to answer. It’s a free chance to drop the issue. To say sorry, never mind, and go back to watching people move on the floor below them.
“That guy,” she slaps his hand down as he goes to point. “The guy next to Steve, number 8, is that his dad?”
“How do you know him?” The question, instead of an answer, startles him enough that he looks at her instead of Steve. Stern, he knows he doesn’t want to lie to her, but he also isn’t sure how to say that this random high school boy saved two of his best friends’ older siblings' lives.
“He’s Nancy’s boyfriend. Mike talks about him.”
If he’d just waited. He would have gotten his question answered without asking Mom. They both watch as that man says one more thing to Steve, shakes his hand, and walks out of the gym. “I don’t see Nancy here.” Because they both know he doesn’t really need his other question answered anymore.
“I don’t think she really likes sports.”
Mom sucks her teeth, a judgmental tchk that has heat climbing the back of his neck when it's not even for him. "Well that's a shame, he's a good player." There's finally enough space on the floor that they could leave. He wants, desperately, for them to just go cause something about this conversation is making him feel guilty again. "Do you want to to say hi?"
There's nothing he wants less than that. Lucas thinks if he has to go up to this guy, who went toe to toe with a monster, while his mom trails behind he'll die. Lucas thinks if he says hi to a guy who has only seen him maybe twice in the context of Mike Wheeler's house, and has to sit there while Steve blankly accepts his congrats he'll melt into the floor.
"Can we just go home? I still have homework."

TW: Bruises/Hickies, Church
AN: Surprise shawtyyy! I was fighting demons to keep a poker face up until this point lolol also normally, I'd have a follow up post for Tuesday if I post on a Monday - but next update will be later this week, as I'm at the point where I'm just straight up making poses for the whole thing lol. (trying not to, because it's time consuming).
Transcript under the cut
Malcolm: Are they done yet? This is boring!
Jonathan: You don’t get it.
Malcolm: Get what!
Jonathan: Mom and Dad. They’re in love and stuff.
Malcolm: Bleh!
Nancy: [whispers] I’m sorry.
Geoffrey: Hm? What for?
Nancy Narrates: [For betraying you]
Nancy Narrates: [For always wanting more when this should be enough]
Nancy Narrates: [You don’t deserve this..]
Nancy: [whispers] Nothing. Nevermind.
-
Jonathan: What happened? What’s wrong with Mom?
Geoffrey: She’s ok, she just needs to rest-
Malcolm: Is it cause she’s drunk?
Geoffrey: Malcolm- Ok, how about you two find a movie for us to watch for boy’s night and I’ll get Mommy ready for bed.
Geoffrey: Nance. I need you to sit up so I can get your night gown on.
Nancy: Mhm.. s’fine.
Geoffrey: [snorts] Alright, suit yourself. Don’t try and steal all the blankets when you get cold tonight.
Nancy: [whimpers] M’ gonna be better, Geoffrey. M’so sorry..
Geoffrey: There you go, apologizing again. You know it’s ok if you do steal them, right, silly? I run hot at night any...anyway-
-
Nancy Narrates: [I made a silent promise to my family that I’ll never stray away from them again. I would make it right, somehow]
Deacon: Today we gather to reflect on the sacred gift of family. God created humanity in His image. From the beginning, we see family is part of His design.
Deacon: It is within our families that we first encounter unconditional love that mirrors God’s own love for us all.
Priest: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Nancy: Amen. [softly] Bless me Father, for I have sinned. It has been- [exhales] a while since my last confession.
Priest: What is troubling you, my child?
Nancy: I’ve- fallen prey to my weakness for the same sex. I fear what I’ve done will ruin my family.
Priest: Have you struggled with this before?
Nancy: I’ve never really acted on it, until now.
Priest: How do you feel about what you’ve done?
Nancy: Guilt. Shame. Disgust.
Priest: My daughter, these emotions are a sign of your conscience at work. You have acted against your own values. You know these unnatural ways is not in accordance to God’s design. For your penance, I want you to spend time in prayer and consider the harm you’ve caused for yourself and for your soul.
-
Judith: Oh, brother. He said that?
Nancy: It’s nothing I’ve never heard before, growing up in the church and all.
Judith: You know there’s nothing wrong with you, right?
Nancy: [scoffs] I cheated on my husband! That’s unforgivable, in any situation. If Geoffrey ever found out, he’d leave me. The boys would have to suffer through a divorce- a broken family. The media would eat us alive. And my mother, God, if she knew-
Judith: Oh, I am so sick of hearing about that old broad!
Nancy: I just need to put it behind me. Move on. I got it out of my system, so I have no reason to speak to Lily ever again. I’ll never think about another woman. I’ll be good. Normal.
Judith: What the hell is normal, anyway? If you’re abnormal, than so am I.
Nancy: [sighs] You’re not married or a mother.
Judith: Have you even allowed yourself a moment to revel in this?
Nancy: Why would I?
Judith: Because you finally gave yourself something you wanted. Put the shame and all those nasty feelings aside for a second and tell me about it.
Nancy: [groans] God, it felt so good. The sex yes, but there was something about her obeying everything I said that thrilled me. If I close my eyes now, I can still feel her teeth in my skin, her gasps when I squeezed her throat.
Judith: There.
Nancy: What? There what?
Judith: The real you. You pack her away so much that when you finally allow her to show, she shines.
Nancy: She frightens me..
Judith: Good! She’s a real bitch, and she’s ready for her debut! I want to see you at your brightest, darling. It’s when you’re the happiest.
Nancy: I don’t know if happiness was in the cards I was dealt.
Judith: I believe it is. And when it comes, bask in it, darling.
-
Jonathan: Move, Malcolm! I have the phone!
Malcolm: NO! Let me talk to mommy!
Nancy: Quit bickering, you two. Jonathan, let your brother speak too, please.
Malcolm: YEAH!
Jonathan: [groans] Fine! Mom, are you almost home? Will you be late again?
Nancy: I’ve just wrapped up my last client and I’ll be on my way.
Malcolm: Then we can look for a Christmas tree?!
Nancy: We sure can, my love. I’ll see you both very, very soon.
Jonathan: Promise?
Nancy: I promise. I love you both so much.
Assistant: Mrs. Landgraab, you have a guest asking for you in the lobby.
Nancy: [scoffs] You’re joking? No, no I can’t. Have them book an appointment. I’m leaving for the evening.
Assistant: I suggested that, but they refused to leave and insisted on seeing you.
Nancy: Oh, fucking hell.. fine. Page my driver to wait for me out front anyway. I’ll make this quick.
Nancy: [breathlessly] Vanessa.
Vanessa: Hello Nancy.

Note
This might be bad but could you write a Steve Harrington story where he left the reader for nancy after they were secretly dating bc she’s plus sized. Then once he cleans up his act he writes her a letter. I was thinking it could be based on closure by Taylor Swift! Thank you !
Closure
This isn't bad ! I can totally do that. I listened to the song for the first time today so I hope you like this! Also, This is going to be a two part piece. I wanted to give some background context so that's what this first part is about. I'll be working on part 2 soon. I hope you don't mind.
Pairing: Steve Harrington x plus size!reader
Warnings: I'm not a basketball player nor have I ever been a manager. Honestly I've never really been to a basketball game so I'm not sure if this is all super accurate. Pls let me know. Cursing, Use of Y/N, use of the word girl, some self doubt.
Series Summary: You never knew Steve could be so shallow. When he leaves you to date Nancy Wheeler, you're left with a pain you thought he'd never leave cause you. Maybe you should've stayed friends.
*Not Proof Read* Stranger Things Masterlist
Pt. 1 Pt. 2 Pt. 3
*****
Teenage love. Powerful. Fast. Fun. Potent.
The first boy I fell in love with was Steve Harrington. How couldn't I have? His perfect hair. Beautiful eyes. His flirty smile.
Every girl liked Steve at one point or another.
Steve and I grew up together in Hawkins. We never had the same classes together, but boy, I knew of Steve. We finally officially met in high school when I became the manager for the Hawkins High Basketball team.
Freshman Year - 1981
" Alright guys, huddle up. " Coach Ryan shouts to the sweaty boys drilling around the gym. " This is our manager. You will treat them with respect, you hear? I want none of that bullshit that went on last year. You got that Seniors? " Coach Ryan sends a pointed look at the upperclassmen. " If I hear of anyone disrespecting our manager, you'll be running on bleachers for the next month. I'm serious. "
What an introduction.
I shift slightly, a little uncomfortable with the gazes of the boys. I send a small smile to the team, trying to calm myself. " Hey, guys. Let me know if you need anything. " I scan the group in front of me. My eyes land on a familiar face on the back row. His friendly smile sends a wave of butterflies fluttering throughout my body. My eyes linger on him for a few seconds before I force myself to look away.
The last thing I need is for him to realize I like him. How awkward.
The coach makes a few more announcements before he dismisses the boys to the locker rooms.
" I needs you to gather up the balls and take them back to the equipment room. " Coach Ryan nods in the direction of the small closet on the other side of the room.
" Sure thing! Anything else? " I ask, reaching down to pick up one of the stray balls.
" Not that I can think of. I'll be in my office if you need me. " Coach Ryan nods a goodbye before heading towards the boys locker room where his office is located.
I look around the gym. Abandoned basketballs lay scattered around the gym. This is going to take a minute.
I pull the metal ball holder behind me as I begin picking everything up.
" Here ya go. " A voice startles me from behind.
I turn to see Steve holding two basketballs under his arms. He sends me a small smile.
" Sorry, didn't mean to scare you. " He sets the basketballs on the top rack.
I smile back at him. " It's all good. I scare easily. "
Steve jogs over to one of the balls a few feet away from us, swiftly picking it up.
" Oh, you don't need to do that. I've got it. It's my job anyway. "
Steve shakes his head, a looks piece of hair falling in front of his face. " I don't mind. It's kinda fucked up you have to clean up our mess. "
I shrug. " I mean, I signed up to do it. "
Steve nods. " Why did you sign up to be a manager? "
" Honestly, to get out of class. " I feel heat begin to spread over my face at the sound of Steve's laugh. " I hate biology. "
" Whaddya mean? Mr. Jackson's a world-class comedian. You're telling me you don't like his cell jokes? " Steve grins.
I cringe, memories of Mr. Jackson's awkward dad jokes and the silence following filling my mind. " I could do without. "
" You know, I don't think we've actually ever talked before. " Steve points out while heading towards another ball. Instead of returning it to the cart, he dribbles it towards the hoop closest to us. He shoots it into the hoop, the ball making a loud sound as it returns to the ground.
" Well, we've never had a class together. " I shrug, taking the ball from him as he hands it over to me.
" What a shame. "
Does Steve like talking to me?
" I mean, that doesn't mean we can't start now. We're gonna be stuck together for the next few months. "
Steve picks up the last basketball. " True. I gotta go get changed before my mom gets here. It's been nice. See ya tomorrow? " His eyes steadily hold my gaze.
I nod. " For sure. "
Steve's smile widens slightly. " Later, Y/N. "
" Bye Steve. " My throat feels tight from excitement. I can't believe that just happened. Steve knows I exist. He knows I exist! And he actually likes talking to me! This...this is fucking great.
Sophomore Year - 1982
" Hurry the fuck up, Y/N. " Steve groans, his sweaty forehead pressed against his forearm. He lazily leans against the now empty bleachers, his eyes following me as I finish writing down the total of money the team made off of concessions.
" I told you that you didn't have to wait for me. I have shit to finish up here. " I nod towards the clip board in front of me.
" I'd be a shitty friend if I left you here. What if you get...kidnapped or some shit. I'd be first on the suspect list. "
Friend. I'm only his friend. Gosh, I need to get over this stupid crush. I mean, it's been over a year since we met and he hasn't said anything about liking me. Why would he like me now? He's into girls like Chrissy. Why else would he flirt with girls like her and not with me? If he liked me he'd tell me. Right?
I roll my eyes, trying to shake off my thoughts and focus of the impatient boy in front of me. " Great to see you care about me so much. Definitely isn't because of your reputation. "
Steve lets out a small laugh. " You know I'm fucking with you, right? "
" I know. Look, I'm almost done. Grab your duffle from the locker, will you? By the time you get back I'll have everything finished. Plus it'll give me a break from your whiny ass. " I joke.
" Ouch. And here I thought you loved me. " Steve holds a hand up to his heart, humor clearly in his tone.
For a moment my heart begins to race. Love. He knows? He doesn't know. Shut the fuck up and be normal. He's a friend. Just a friend.
" What made you believe that? Tommy's obviously my number 1. "
I'm not the biggest fan of Tommy. He's hot a cold. Somedays he's decent, other days he's a complete shit head. He's changed a lot since middle school.
For a moment something flashes over Steve's expression. Surprise maybe? Annoyance? As quickly as it comes it's gone. His playful expression returns. " I'll be sure to let him know that. "
" Don't you fucking dare! " My head snaps towards him. " I'll kill you, Harrington. I'm not even joking. He'll never let me live that shit down, even if it's a lie. And Carol will beat the shit out of me. "
Steve raises an eyebrow in amusement. He leans back against the bleachers, crossing his arms. " Don't worry, I'll sell tickets for the show. I'll even cheer you on. "
I roll my eyes. " Of course you would. "
" I'm gonna go grab my stuff before the janitors lock the locker rooms up for the night. " Steve laughs, pushing himself up. " Hurry the fuck up before I leave you here. "
" You wouldn't dare. "
" Watch me. " With that, he strolls towards the direction of the locker rooms. His strides ooze with confidence, a kind only Steve can emit.
Steve truly is one of a kind.
Junior Year - 1983
" Are you going to prom? " Steve asks out of the blue. He doesn't bother looking up from his text book.
I swallow harshly, heat climbing up my cheeks. I hate when people ask me this. " Nah. Prom's overrated. "
Steve's eyebrow quirks up. " So you're a dance hater? "
I shrug. " I just don't see what the big deal is. Blowing a ton of cash for one night? I'd rather buy new records. " I debate whether or not to tell him the next part. " Plus no one's asked me. " They never do. Why would they when they could ask someone like Carol or Chrissy?
Steve finally looks up at me, his gaze finally meeting mine. Shock is evident in his expression. " Really? You haven't been asked? "
I shake my head, heat crawling up my face again. " Why would I? In case you haven't noticed, I don't really have a ton of guy friends. And my friend pool isn't the largest. "
Steve sends me a sympathetic smile.
Instead of comforting me, it annoys me. He doesn't understand. He's had girls asking him out and asking him to dances from the moment he was allowed to go to dances.
" Anyone would be lucky to take you. You're a great person, Y/N. "
I roll my eyes, laughing slightly. " Yeah. Lucky. "
Steve's eyebrows furrow. " Why are you laughing? I'm serious. You're like the coolest person I know. "
" Then you have a very unique perspective of the word cool. " I glance up at the clock on the wall behind him. " Shit, I told my mom I'd run to the store and pick up some potatoes for dinner. I'm gonna be late. I gotta go. " I rush to gather my notebooks off of the library table.
" Do you want me to take you? " Steve asks, getting up after me.
I shake my head. " It's fine. It's just down the street. You keep studying. Lord knows you need to. Gotta pass that calc test in Jones' class tomorrow. " Truthfully, I just want to get out of this conversation and I'm worried that if Steve gives me a ride it'll just reignite the topic.
" Are you sure? I really don't mind taking you. I can always study at home. "
" I'm fine Steve. Plus, if you try to 'Study' at home, you're not going to get anything done. I know you. "
Steve rolls his eyes. " I love your confidence in me. With your reassuring words I can do anything. "
I let out a small laugh. " Shut up. "
Steve grins.
Fuck he's perfect.
I need to get out of here.
" I'll see ya later Steve. " I wave at him, pulling my bookbag over my shoulder.
" Later, Y/N. Walk safe. Call me in an hour or two so I know you weren't kidnapped or forced to join a circus. " Steve's joking but a part of his expression seems serious. Like he's actually worried about me.
I let out a sigh. " I'll be fine but I'll call you. "
I wish I was the type of person boys would ask out. The type that don't have to do anything for people to crush on them.
But I'm not.
++++++
" Y/N, Steve's here! " My mothers voice calls up to me.
What? Why's Steve here?
Confused, I head downstairs. As soon as I reach the bottom my eyes widen. Steve's still in the doorway, a small box in his hands. His hair is styled perfectly, like always. He's dressed in a fancy suit, something I've only seen him do for fall sport award nights or very special occasions.
" What the...? " I finally get to the bottom of the stairs. " Steve? What's going on? "
" You're going to Prom with me. " Steve holds out the box, his comment more of a statement then a question.
" I don't have an outfit! " I protest, confusion still fogging my mind.
" Just put on whatever you have. Come on, Y/N. It's prom. You need to experience it at least once. Why not with me? "
I feel my stomach begin to churn. Steve's taking me to prom? What fucking dream have I been blessed with?
I chew on my bottom lip. " I'll be back. " I turn to run back up the stairs.
I can't believe I'm going to prom with Steve.
I do my best to get dressed quickly. I manage to find a semi appropriate outfit for the dance and we head out.
" Dinner first. The dance is at 9. " Steve pulls into a familiar diner. It's the diner the whole team eats at after winning a game.
" Oh, you forgot to put on your corsage. " Steve opens the small box, gently taking out a beautiful corsage.
" Oh Steve, you really didn't have to do that. " I stare down at the beautiful flowers. " This is too much. "
Steve shakes his head. " I want you to have a prom to remember. You deserve it. "
I send him a smile. " Thank you. You...you're really the best. "
His smile widens, sending butterflies through my body. He gently puts the corsage onto my wrist. His fingers are cool. They leave tingly sensations on the skin he touches.
For a moment it's silent. I try to find a way to calm my nerves.
He's your friend. Just a friend.
" Actually, Y/N. I also wanted to talk to you about something. " Steve breaks the comfortable silence.
" Yeah? Go for it. " I take a sip of my water, my eyes staying on him.
For the first time he looks nervous. Like he has so much to say but he doesn't know how to.
" Are you okay? " I ask, slightly concerned. He's always so confident. He knows who he is and he's proud of it. It's something I've always admired.
Steve nods, pulling his eyes away from his water cup. " I'm just going to say it. Fuck. " He runs a hand through his hair.
My heart begins to pound faster. What's going on?
" Fuck, I hope this doesn't make things weird. That's the last thing I want. Look, I really like having you as a friend... " He starts.
What the fuck is he going to say? Now I'm nervous. Does he have another girlfriend? Someone who doesn't like him being friends with me?
"-But...fuck, look I like you. " He blurts out, a small blush crawling up his cheeks. " I've liked you for years and I really want to be more than friends. And...I don't know if this makes it weird. If you don't like me, I completely understand. We can just pretend this shit didn't happen and go to prom and never talk about it again. I really don't want to make you uncomfortable-" Steve rambles.
" Steve. " I try to interrupt.
" It's just been something I've struggled with for years and fuck, I don't want to keep it from you. Not when we could potentially be something more. I mean - "
" Steve. " I try a little more forcefully.
Steve's clearly stuck in his head because he doesn't seem to hear me.
"-I just don't want to have any regrets. Especially about you-"
" Fucking hell. Steve Harrington, I need you to shut the fuck up for a second. " I say louder, attracting the attention from an older couple nearby. " Sorry. "
Steve looks at me with wide eyes, clearly not expecting my reaction.
" Let me talk. Please. " I look into his eyes, excitement bubbling in my chest. " I like you to. Fuck, I never thought this would happen. "
Steve breaks into a wide grin. His shoulders relax and he seems less tense. " You do? "
I laugh slightly. " I mean, yeah. You're funny, you're talented, you're nice. You're the whole package. Steve, you're one of the kindest people I know. It's hard not to like you. "
" Oh my...thank god. I was so nervous you weren't going to feel the same. " Steve leans back into the booth seat he's in across from me.
" Me too. "
Today really has to be a dream.
" So...do you want to be my partner? " Steve asks, his gaze holding mine.
I smile. " I'd love to. "
Senior Year - 1984
" I'll see you after class? " Steve grins at me. He pushes away from the lockers he was leaning on.
" Of course. I'll meet you at your car. "
I watch as Steve walks away. He's immediately swallowed up by the crowd.
Thing's have been pretty good. Ever since we started going steady, things have been really nice. Of course, some people in the school don't really approve. It's hard to ignore sometimes but we try. Not everyone agrees that Steve should date someone like me.
It hurts.
But what's important is that we're still together. Despite the shit people say, we're trying.
Sometimes I can see it gets to Steve. He's lost a bit of respect. It's so fucking stupid. I don't understand why people think it's so important for him to date a certain type of person.
Sometimes I feel guilty for us dating. Sometimes his teammates can be dicks. They don't see what he sees in me.
It doesn't matter. As long as we're both happy, that's what's important.
++++++
" Look, we need to talk. "
Those are the first words I hear when I get into Steve's car. His jaw is tight. He avoids looking at me.
" Oh, yeah. What's up? " I ask, confused about what's going on. " Are you alright? You look tense. Did something happen in fifth period? "
" We need to break up. " Steve blurts out. He still avoids my gaze.
My eyes widen. " What? What's going on? Steve, look at me? "
" I'm done, Y/N. I need out of this relationship. "
What the fuck happened? We were fine literally an hour ago. What the fuck is going on?
" Why? Steve, what the fuck are you talking about? "
I feel my heart begin to break at his words.
Steve shakes his head. " I just-look, you're a nice girl, Y/N. But...I can't date you anymore. " His voice waivers slightly.
" Steve, what did I do? " My voice crackles. I feel tears prick at the back of my eyes. " What the fuck happened? "
" We don't look good together, Y/N. "
His excuse is fucking stupid.
" Since when have you cared about what other people think? Why now? "
Steve swallows harshly. " It's different now...I...you...we can't do this. You hear what they say about us, Y/N, don't you? What they say about you? "
Anger begins to bubble inside of me. This is what it's about. " It's me. You're embarrassed of me. " I'm silent for a second, trying not to let the tears come out. " Fuck you, Steve. "
Finally Steve looks up at me, hurt flashing over his face.
" You're an asshole, you know that? Since when have you given a fuck about someone elses' opinion? You're really doing this because of what other people have said? You're just like fucking Tommy, you know that? Like all of the other shallow assholes going to our school. " I open my door. " I hope you're happy. You'll finally get your spot as King of Hawkins back. I wish I'd never met you, Steve. "
" Y/N-" Steve begins, his arm reaching towards me. " I'm sorry- "
" Fuck you. " I slam his door, rushing away from his car. I hear a snicker as I walk past a few of the cars. Tommy and Carol whisper to each other, their harsh gazes glaring holes into my frame.
Steve's always had a bit of a reputation for being a dick to certain people. He's had a bit of a bullying streak. I thought that shit was over. I thought he'd grown out of it, I mean he was never mean to me.
I was wrong.
+++++++
Two days later he started dating Nancy Wheeler and I quit being a manager for the basketball team.
Fuck you Steve Harrington.

SO SENSITIVE
Tumblr media
Pairing- Steve Harrington x Reader
Warnings- Mean Steve at the beginning, crying, yelling, hurt/comfort, mentions of Steve still having feeling for Nancy.
A/n-I had so much fun writing this! I was listening to Fergie while writing this, which was kinda weird with the situation, but it was a 10/10. I’ll also be making moodboards to go with all of these! Anyways, enjoy!
Tumblr media
“God, calm down Y/n, you’re always so sensitive over this.” Steve huffs, standing beside the couch you’re sitting on. Your knees are tucked to your chest, a few stray tears trickling down your face.
“Okay, well, I’m sorry that I think that you and Nancy are too close.” He rolls his eyes at that, it was a sentiment he heard much too often for his liking.
“Listen-“ He starts, smoothing a had down his face as he sighs heavily. “Nance and I are just really good friends, okay? I care about her, and maybe if you weren’t so sensitive, you’d realize that!” His voice raises as he speaks, and you scoot further away from him. “I’m not hurting you, princess, calm down.” He huffs again, frustrated with how jumpy you’d been lately.
“Can you stop blaming everything on me? You’re constantly trying to get alone with her! We all see it!” Your voice raises as his did, causing him to roll his eyes.
“I’m not trying to get alone with her, I’m just being nice, trying to protect her, I’m a gentleman, you know that.” He explains, thinking the whole conversation was absolutely ridiculous.
“Yeah, cause she definitely needed your help going to the library, and Robin couldn’t have protected her just as well as you could.” His eyebrows furrow at your snarky comment, almost taken aback by it.
“So? I’m done being the babysitter, I should get to go do something else for once!” He retorts, the lie was thin, but he hoped you’d believe him.
“Sure, whatever. I’ll just shut up, since I’m too sensitive for you.” You snap back, upset, hurt, and over the whole conversation. He watches as you walk up the stairs to your shared bedroom, regret immediately flooding through him.
He quickly rushed up the stairs after you, finding you in bed, curled up and softly crying. Without a second thought, he laid down beside you, pulling you into his arms.
“Hey, hey, I’m so sorry. I should’ve never said that, any of it, and it was awful of me. I’m too close with Nancy, and I’m so sorry for invalidating you. I love you so much and those aren’t things I should do or say to someone I love.”  He explains in a rush, hoping that you’ll understand. He let out a sigh of relief as you turned to bury your face in his neck.
“Thank you, I love you too Stevie. And for the record, you’re a pretty good babysitter.” You sniffle out, the last of your tears slowing as he tucks you into him further, stroking your hair until your breathing slowed, falling to sleep.

This is my first time writing for Steddie, so sorry if it's shit! Based on this post.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No one had ever seen Steve cry, and at this point they weren’t sure it was even something he was capable of. So, as he stood over Eddie’s open casket with the only dry eyes in the room, no one really batted an eye.
It had been 3 weeks since Steve had carried the metalhead’s body out of the Upside Down, with Dustin leaning heavily into a misty eyed Robin and Nancy as he limped alongside them, tears still streaming from his eyes. Steve hadn’t shed a tear then, and he didn’t shed one now. It wasn’t because he didn’t care for Eddie, in fact he probably cared for him far more than he’d admit to even himself, but something just didn’t feel right. It was hard to grieve for someone when it didn’t truly feel like they were gone.
Eddie’s uncle had arranged the funeral to be a quiet affair, hoping to minimize the chances of any angry hicks’ gate crashing. So it was held in a small room at the morgue, with only close friends and family in attendance.
After a short speech from Wayne, everyone filtered through to say their own goodbyes. Mike and Lucas both stood by the casket momentarily, gripping the sides and saying their own quiet goodbyes. Erica didn’t say much, just placed a small black dice beside one of his hands before nodding down at him. Nancy went up with Johnathan and whispered a quiet thank you, letting her hands brush a stray lock of hair from his face. Dustin stood there in silence just staring down at Eddie’s still form before choking out a promise to look after Eddie’s ‘little sheep’. And then it was just Steve and Robin left in the room. Robin tugged on his sleeve, looking up at him with big pleading eyes until he nodded and walked up with her, he stood beside her as she whispered a soft goodbye, eyes then looking to him to do the same.
“Could I
I just need a moment with him, if that’s okay?” he said quietly, smiling gratefully as Robin just squeezed his hand and nodded before also exiting the room.
Eyes doing a quick check around the room to make sure there was nobody left to witness what he was about to say, Steve let his hands rest against the wood of the casket and leant down towards the long-haired man.
“Okay, you listen here you little shit, I know you’re not dead.” Steve whispered; eyes firmly trained now on Eddie’s face. His grip against the wood only getting tighter as the silence stretched on.
“Fuck.” he breathed, hanging his head at the lack of response, before turning to start walking away.
“Yeah, no shit Harrington.” Came the gravelly response from behind him, stopping him in his tracks.
As he slowly turned on his heel, he watched as Eddie pushed himself up into a sitting position, an almost familiar grin on his face had it not been for what looks like two fangs pushing down over his lower lip.
“What the hell, man?” Steve exclaimed, almost storming back over to the casket and taking Eddie’s face in his hands and tilting him from left to right to get a better look.
“Nice to see you too, Stevie.” Eddie murmured; cheeks being squished slightly by Steve’s grip on him.
“How long have you been, well not dead?” Steve huffed; brows furrowed as he let his gaze roam over the other man’s body.
“Honestly man, I have no clue. I woke up a couple of times, but this has been the first time I was actually able to move. Fuck, it really hurts dying y’know.” Eddie groaned, stretching all his limbs out and rolling his shoulders as he let his hands pick at the tight material of the black jacket he was dressed in, “Of course Wayne would take this opportunity to get me in a suit, I love the old man, but shit.”
“Really? I don’t think our biggest problem right now is your style choices, you’ve literally come back from the dead man.” Steve grumbled with a hand nervously running through his hair.
“Ooo, now that’s where you’re wrong Stevie boy, it’s always about the style choices.” Eddie grinned, loosening the tie that was around his neck with a grimace, "Anyway, what's the plan for breaking me out of here? Cus I don't know about you man, but I don't exactly love the thought of being buried alive."
“Look, you’re not meant to be being buried until tomorrow, can you just hang tight for a few hours? I can come by later tonight and sneak you out when there's nobody around” Steve said, hands landing like a disappointed parent on his hips.
“Harrington. You cannot be asking me to, what? Play dead?” Eddie scoffed, the realization slowly showing on his face as he realised that Steve was deadly serious. “Nah man, come on, there’s gotta be a better way than that?”
“Well, unfortunately for you, I don't think there is. You’ll get recognized the second you step out those doors, and I don’t know about you man, but I’m not exactly in the mood for a lynch mob right about now.” Steve said, raising an eyebrow as Eddie visibly deflated.
“Fine. Fine, but you better come back for me Harrington!” Eddie sighed, pointing an accusatory finger at the other man as he lay back down with a huff.
“Always, Munson.” Steve replied, knocking his knuckles against the side of the casket with a soft smile, missing the slight pink that rose in Eddie’s cheeks as he slipped out the room.

the law of seat partners | part 3
masterlist
a/n: ok this chapter is honestly a wild ride from start to finish, really had to look into google maps to get the geographics right here, sorry if it's a bit inaccurate, the dimensions in the us are a bit difficult to grasp for my european brain lol. same goes for the bus interior and the structure of road houses. also this is gonna be super self-indulgent since i keep picturing eddie as someone with this wholesome, kind and super soft stray dog side of personality that you only get to see once you break through his shell and i'm basically just romanticising the shit out of him in this entire story. also i apologize if the whole part is a bit random, it's just that i didn't plan for this thing to even have more than one part lol. anyway, thanks for reading and please leave me comments and reblogs if you're enjoying this little series! there will be a part 4.
summary: you're still on that damn bus with eddie. he plays you some of his favourite songs and they turn out to sound really familiar. when you do finally arrive at the camp, you find yourself spending even more time with your favourite metalhead and he makes it just a bit more clear that he might really like you back. and yeah, everyone around you already seems to know.
cw/tw: first off i want to clarify that eddie and reader both are at least twenty! slow burn, mutual pining, friends to lovers overall, (brief) allusions to +18 adult content (minors go away!), sexual tension, lots of physical touch, reader being self-conscious, angst, not feeling good enough briefly, a bit of self-sabotage if you squint, a few more pet names, bestfriend!Steve being reader's rock once again, reassurance, eddie not committing a crime, no mention of y/n, no mentions of reader's physical attributes except hair.
-----
Lunch break acted as a reminder that the rest of your friends were also still there.
That's how lost you were getting with Eddie Munson and your legs in his lap.
The gang was once again standing in a kind of circle shaped form outside on the parking lot next to the bus. You had passed Chicago already a while ago and the blue sky hadn't exactly followed you to Wisconsin, but thankfully it wasn't raining either.
Without even thinking about it you had taken the position between Eddie and Steve.
Jonathan and Nancy were standing opposite of you, the former holding his beloved pentax in his hands, it dangling from his shoulder on a strap being the guy's default. Always ready to press the shutter, just so now.
Steve groaned a little, complaining about how his hair just wasn't looking good enough to be in a photo right now, but no one cared. As someone who loved taking photos – probably even more than the Byers boy – it was in fact one of your pet peeves whenever someone complained about having their photo taken. In your book, photos depicted memories. Why wouldn't you want to be in them?
"You gonna fill that film up today, Jon?", you asked with a grin, and the photographer just nodded.
"Alright, now that we caught Steve's mesmerizing beauty on film, anyone wanna go grab a bite?", Robin asked into the round while shifting her weight continuously from her toes to her heels and back, trying her best not to sound too desperate to get something between her teeth.
"Oh shit yeah, I'm dying", Steve replied after a quick yawn and stretch and the three freshmen boys agreed with heavy nods and exclamations of the words yes and finally.
Their boyish eagerness made Nancy chuckle just a little, and she continued by taking the hand of the older Byers boy and pulling him along with her, leading the way to the building for the rest of you.
Jonathan kept turning around every few meters to just take candids of everyone, trying to fill up the roll of film just so he could reload once you guys would arrive at the camp.
Everyone in the gang seemed to be willing to at least check out the offers from the shop, and like, get a slushie or something.
"M'lady?"
Eddie had squinted one of his eyes shut looking at you while holding his arm out for you to hold onto it, just so you both could follow the group.
"Oh, thank you good sir."
He was just a little taller than you, which made walking with your arm hooked into his quite comfortable.
You threw the knowing smile of his towards you right back at him.
And while you were following the rest of your friends, he leaned in to talk to you. Even more.
"Quite rude of Ms Kelley to interrupt our sacred listening session like that. I guess she just doesn't seem to value a good tune, huh?"
"We didn't even start the tape, Eddie."
"But we already had headphones on so we were about to, that still counts."
He poked a finger into your side while walking, trying to stop you from bringing another absolutely valid and logical argument to his silly remark, making you squeak and jump to the side a little instead, letting go of his arm.
You only could see Steve's head turn towards you, having heard your exclamation of surprise. More of his reaction was kept hidden from you though, since Eddie had decided to continue poking, so you were left with no choice but to run, giggling like a toddler.
"Eddieeee, stoooop", you yelled in a higher pitch than your normal voice, trying and failing miserably at the attempt to hide between Robin, Will and Lucas.
You could hear your friends laugh, the sight must have been hilarious.
There was no escaping Eddie the freak Munson.
You had almost reached the motion sensor of the front door when he grabbed you by the waist, pulled your back flush against his front and apparently felt no hesitation encasing you in his arms entirely. He let out a short, low hum at the feeling and it sent a shiver straight through you.
You were slowly getting warm at the frequency you were having physical contact with him, but having so much of his body touching yours in this way did not leave you unaffected in the slightest.
His embrace made your heartbeat speed up, but it also transported this really comforting, almost soothing wave of feeling protected.
And it had you yearning for him. And it was essentially confusing you.
"Say that I'm right", you heard his deep voice mumble, the side of his head pressed lightly against yours.
You could feel the warmth radiating from his body. The way he smelled. The way he held you tight.
Yeah, bye.
"Huh?"
You wanted your voice to sound equally low to his, but it didn't come out quite as such.
"Ms Kelley disrespects the law."
He couldn't be serious.
"Eddieeeeee!", you laughed at his silliness and the great amount of dramatics he put into his persistence with referring to his law of seat partners rule joke thing.
The long haired boy let go of you since the others had caught up. You just saw him grin at you, before Steve swung an arm around his shoulders, pulling his best friend through the sliding doors, while you felt Max grab your hand.
The road house your teachers had decided to stop at consisted of a restaurant, bathrooms of course and a small convenience store, the latter being the destination of Max and you, while the others ventured out into the restaurant, trying to find something warm and edible to stuff themselves with before they would join the both of you.
"Are you having a good time? With him, I mean", Max dropped at you, slowly strolling through the aisles of products that ranged from sweets over car supplies to toothpaste.
The widest grin was plastered over her face as she eyed you curiously.
The question surprised you a little. And maybe you hadn't really been aware of your surroundings for the last few hours, for obvious reasons.
"Hm? Oh yeah, he's being so sweet", you replied to your friend, "not sure what's gotten into him today though, he's never been like this."
Max gave you a questioning look, clearly asking you to elaborate.
"I don't know, I mean he's always throwing arms around me and stuff, but this, I don't know, this feels different", you continued, not being able to meet her eye, "I mean, he's always nice to me when we're around each other, but he seems so much m–"
"He likes you."
Max interrupted your sentence.
"What?"
"It's so fucking obvious. Have you seen the way he looks at you?"
I mean, yeah sure you had taken notice of the way he had been gazing at you with his baby cow eyes all day today. Actually, ever since he met you all those months ago, now that you're thinking about it. But why would you read anything into that?
You felt warmth spreading over your cheeks.
Did Eddie Munson really like you? Like that?
"He's just being nice, Max."
Only now you shot her a look, trying to tell her what you were too self-conscious, even anxious about to say out loud.
Guys never really seemed to see you as someone they could like. You were so used to the vast majority of them treating you as one of their bros, if they even treated you like anything at all, so when there was someone showing interest in you in other ways, it freaked the living hell out of you. To the point of denying yourself something potentially nice. Or more like, someone nice.
"Just nice? He is never that nice to me! I think you're just way too much in your head about this. You know you like him. And he likes you back, it's crystal clear to me, in fact, to all of us."
Wait. All of them? Had he talked to anyone about you?
Now you were the one giving her the questioning look, and before you could say anything, Robin popped up next to the both of you with a pair of wide eyes along with raised eyebrows.
"Okay, what are we buying, hm? I need more cookies, Steve and Jonathan ate all of them already", she informed you, walking off to find her restock of baked sweets, just as quickly as she had appeared.
You giggled lightly at the similarity of her and your snack situation.
Max only gave you a grin and a wink through her sky blue eyes before following Robin to the cookie section. The boys and Nancy returned from their feast not long after and you had tried your best to bring your focus to the task at hand: finding something snackable that wasn't too much of an overload, but also essential for the remaining time on the road.
Steve grabbed and pulled you away from the others on the way outside, back to the bus. The thirty minutes were almost over and no one wanted to risk being left in the middle of nowhere aka Bumfuck, Wisconsin, nor having a search party consisting of Ms Kelley and Mr Clarke out roaming the area.
"Hey there", Steve looked at you while walking by your side and throwing an arm around you.
He truly was your best friend and so you just happened to know everything about each other's lives. He had always been your rock throughout high school and mainly responsible for having you be part of the gang. He knew about your issues and always tried to give you advice.
You let your arm sneak around Steve's back, around the height of his waist.
"Everything alright with you, honey?"
You glanced up at him just nodding and he shot you a knowing look, before turning his head around to wink at someone.
The grin on his face widened before turning his attention back to you.
"Uh yeah, I'm having a good time, thanks for checking on me", you replied to him while holding onto the box of chocolates you had ended up buying.
"Munson treating you right I hope, yeah?", Steve inquired further.
You could feel your heart jump a little at the mention of Eddie's name. What you also could feel was the eyes of the long wavy haired boy on your back. He had run after Dustin who had pinched his ass on the way out and you just assumed they were a bit further behind you and Steve.
"A bit more than usual, yeah. I don't really understand why, though. Max said he likes me? But–"
A little frown now covered Steve's lightly freckled face.
You stopped. He stopped. And kept his arm around you. And then you sighed, when his big brown eyes found yours and the way he looked at you changed into a worried brow furrow.
"I think I'm terrified, Steve. I don't know how to behave around him seriously and I don't know how to handle all the affection. That's all so new and I don't want to disappoint him because he deserves someone who's able to give him everything he wants and he's already making himself vulnerable by letting someone in close like that and what if he's gonna realise that I'm just really weird for not being used to–"
"Hey, hey sweetheart, slow down", Steve put a stop to your little ramble, a soft tone to his voice, "you're overthinking. You like him, isn't that right?"
You just looked up at him, almost a bit teary eyed since you were realising a lot of things at the moment, and dealing with your own insecurities and issues was just not easy. Especially in a situation where you couldn't retreat or flee.
And then you nodded.
Steves frown shifted into a grin.
"Then there's absolutely nothing to worry about. Eddie right there is probably genuinely surprised that you're not shying or running away from him, like everyone else. Just look."
Steve pointed in Eddie's direction which made you turn your head. Next thing you saw was the metalhead chasing after Dustin again, both of them running through the group trying not to bump into anyone, all the way over the expanse of the parking lot like two headless chickens, his dark mane flowing in the wind which carried the laughter and giggles of the whole group over to you.
The sight made you laugh a little.
"I mean, not that he really ever tried to get close to someone, like, he doesn't have to try for people to be sort of intimidated and even scared off by him, but that's besides the point. Anyway, I just know for a fact that you could never disappoint him. I'm very sure he's gonna be fine adapting himself to your pace", Steve explained and then paused to take a deep breath.
"It's up to you of course, but I'd just hate to see you get in your own way just because you're too much in your own pretty, little head."
You had snapped your head around again, and Steve lovingly ruffled your hair a little, the way he always did when he tried to tell you that he'd always be there for you and the situation you'd found yourself in would turn out just fine.
You would be just fine.
Deep down you knew Steve was right.
"Yeah, yeah I know. You know how I can get sometimes", you replied to him, reciprocating the same look Steve was now giving you. The depth in his brown eyes was radiating warmth and it helped you calm down your racing thoughts. Steve had known Eddie for a bit longer and was closer with him in general, which was one of your reasons to believe the words of your best friend. In this moment at least.
-----
It was time for the tape.
You took off your shoes again and pulled your legs up to rest your feet on the barrier, this time right in front of you, facing more towards the window.
The boy next to you was still trying to catch his breath from shaking off some energy, pulling a squished paper bag with greasy spots out of the back pocket of his jeans and placing it on his lap, before he lost the vest and leather jacket. He then proceeded to sit down, take both of your headphones and held yours out to you.
"Alright, unlike Ms Kelley, let's obey the law again, huh?"
He let out a deep chuckle when you nodded with a smile.
"Oh hey, and I got you some extra fries, just in case you get hungry."
He handed the small paper bag to you.
Did he just carry fries in his ass pocket?
The thought made you snort.
Oh Munson.
"Did you pay for them?"
"Yeah of course I did. Is that all you think of me, sweetheart?"
There they were again. His dark brown doe eyes blinking at you all sweet, the purest form of Eddie he was willing to show you in this moment.
He was clearly letting you in. Showing himself to you. Letting you read his eyes, hoping you would take the hint which he secretly was yet too insecure to speak out.
He was the town's freak after all and getting his hopes up had never really turned out too positive for him. It had painfully taught him to better keep everyone at a distance.
It took every little ounce of willpower that you could find in yourself to not melt into a puddle, right there in that seat.
And if that wasn't enough already – him being thoughtful enough to think of you while devouring his own lunch – he pressed play on your walkman, before you could give him any sort of response to the fries situation.
The fact that the opening chords of Everybody Wants To Rule The World by Tears for Fears now filled your ears, your absolute favourite song, was sending you into another dimension.
How did he know your favourite fucking song? Did he ask Steve? He must have asked Steve.
He had asked Steve specifically about your music taste.
So many thoughts were flooding your brain at the same time, you were having trouble catching up.
The boy next to you just grinned at your visibly delighted reaction. And then he leaned in a little and you felt the heat once again rise to your cheeks.
"Is that good, that's a real good song, yeah?", you heard him ask, a very light sultry tone to his voice, after you quickly pushed one of your headphones behind your ear.
"Yes Eddie, immaculate choice right there", you praised him in a similar tone, before giving him a genuine giggle, unable to hide the way he was undeniably making you all flustered and earning another warm chuckle from him in return.
The way his cheeks turned into a beautiful shade of rose almost made your heart combust in your ribcage. At this point he was practically beaming with pride, reveling in the fact that he had elicited praise out of you. And it was the most beautiful thing you had ever seen.
You lightly nudged your shoulder into his, which made him lift his arm, a gesture for you to lean into his figure.
"Come here, you."
That head of yours landed on his shoulder and you let him drape his arm over your torso like a seatbelt. A (still very) warm hand was placed between your waist and hip and you were pretty convinced it was going to burn a big hole right through the fabric of your shirt.
He just had to touch you, right?
His boldness however gave you enough of a confidence boost to return the gesture. At this point you needed to tell him, too. Make him feel the burn on his own skin. So you just hugged his arm, pulling it close and nuzzling the side of your face into the soft fabric of his hellfire shirt covering the skin between bicep and shoulder.
With every song you went on listening to, it became more clear than ever that Eddie Munson must really have gone all the way to Steve Harrington's house to ask him for a list of your favourite songs. Which he could then put on a mixtape. For you.
That's what you do for friends, right?
Yeah, right.
For a few songs you both just sat there in utter peace as you watched the landscape outside the window pass by. The wide plains of Wisconsin, fields of crops, forests, small gatherings of houses, farms, barns and horses and cows and sheep. The sky was slowly losing its light grey cover, which had you anticipating an actually nice sunset later.
He had leaned his head against yours, which made his warm breath trickle down the side of your neck down to your collarbone. And you had felt the goosebumps spread all over your arms underneath your longsleeve.
You were feeding off of the warmth radiating from Eddie's body once again, and the ringed hand on your waist had started rubbing up and down softly and slowly.
When Eddie felt you leaning more of your weight into his side, you could hear him let out a satisfied little sigh.
Every second of this part of your little road trip, whenever he tried to search for some form of physical closeness, felt like a fever dream.
And you didn't want to wake up just yet. How about never?
-----
Golden hour announced itself by coating the trees of the forest, the earthy paths for walking, the accumulation of dark wooden cabins and the water on the vast lake in gradients of yellow and orange.
Said lake would look more like the sea to you, it made little waves that were lightly crashing onto the shore of a small beach of a bay around which the camp was located, and it was so vast in fact that you were unable to see the opposing shore on the horizon.
You had just woken up from another nap which you had slipped into after one, two, you actually don't know how many hours of watching the endless fields and forests pass by through half-closed eyelids. Listening to The Romantics, New Order, Fleetwood Mac, The Cure, Genesis and of course Metallica, on Eddie's account.
Still surrounded by the warmth of his body, still tucked in between torso and arm. His hand however had sneakily breached an invisible barrier, now resting comfortably beneath the hem of your shirt on the skin of your waist. You didn't dare to check, but the hole in your shirt was certainly there now, burned through.
Even Ms Kelley's announcement of your arrival didn't bother any of you to move or shift positions. Or god forbid, separate your bodies.
You only slightly turned your head to watch Mr Clarke leave the bus in the corner of your eye, probably to head into the administration office of the camp with the intention to make your arrival known to the staff and to pick up keys for about 40 students.
From what they had told you pre-trip, you were gonna be sharing a cabin with Nancy, Robin and Max, since the plan foresaw keeping the middle schoolers separate from the older kids. And of course there couldn't be any cabins accommodating groups of mixed genders.
Which is precisely why Eddie was going to share his cabin with Jonathan, Steve and Dustin, while Lucas and Will had the honours to be joined in theirs by Gareth and Jeff.
Before letting you go to take the headphones off and gather all your things, Eddie's grip on your waist tightened a bit as he pulled you minimally closer for just two seconds, the vibration of his chest against your back telling you that he was humming softly.
You already missed him, and you hadn't even left the bus yet.
The structure of the camp was simple. There were ten cabins, each of them intended to accommodate up to four people comfortably. A row of them was spread out along the shore of the lake directly by the water. Another row spread out further towards the forest. Both separated by the same earthy pathway stretching and winding itself through the entire place, connecting the cabins to the rest of the camp. There were little houses with sanitary facilities not too far from the cabins, a little square with lots of seating opportunities intended for bonfires, barbecue and other gatherings, the office house, the beach further down the path past the cabins, and a pergola kinda situation with benches for mealtime and a corner with outdoor couches and further more cozy seating.
The cabin you were designated to spend your next 6 nights in was one of those directly by the water. Excitement spread through you at the thought of falling asleep to the peaceful sound of the lake water lightly hitting the shore at night and cicadas singing their songs after sunset. Frogs croaking and birds chirping away. The ambient background noise of a forest by the lake.
You had always been a dreamer.
"Top one's mine!", Robin exclaimed as she was the first one of you to enter, throwing her bag onto one of the top beds that were part of two bunks standing opposite of each other in each corner, a window with light beige and pastel floral curtains separating them.
You were loving the rustic atmosphere. The log aesthetic gave off the biggest summer cottage vibes, so taking in the interior of your small home for the next few days made you smile.
There were two closets with multiple drawers, enough space for accommodating clothing of four people.
The bag hanging from your shoulder landed on the bed below Robin's, while the other two silently agreed on Max above, Nancy on the same level as you.
The beds themselves were about the standard bunk bed size, nothing too fancy, but of course all wooden, fresh bedsheets folded into a neat pile along with a towel decorating the mattress.
While you were getting to making your bed (you knew that you'd thank yourself later), your mind started wondering if you could fit maybe even two people in there. For science, of course.
All of you had agreed to meet at the fireplace once everyone had dropped off their stuff, and when you and the girls arrived there, six pairs of eyes were already awaiting you.
The boys had probably just messily thrown their belongings onto their respective beds, not giving a flying fuck about pulling the covers over the duvets or maybe even taking power naps after the journey.
So yeah, night number one ended with all of you sitting by the fire that Mr Clarke and some guy from the staff team had set up. Conversations about everyone's most anticipated activities that were planned and scheduled for this week were held, your friends' former earth and science teacher telling stories about his first time field tripping back in the day.
Once again you were sat between Steve and Eddie, the metalhead's leather jacket around your shoulders, because he had insisted you'd take it. A sly grin on his face directed at you at the gesture, before turning his attention to the mutual best friend on your other side.
The younger kids had been tucked in by Ms Kelley already, since their curfew had been set to 9pm. Yours was at eleven.
You admired the multiple strings of fairy lights that had been hung into the lower maze of branches long ago, illuminating the earthy pathways throughout the whole camp to keep the kids from stumbling off into some bush or having to pull out flashlights.
At least until midnight, cause that's when the lights were going to be turned off.
-----
Your first full day at camp. The teachers had taken the whole group to a hike through the forest and up the hill at the end of the bay, overviewing the stunning scenery and you had taken a few moments away from everyone to take in the enormousness of the vision opening up in front of you.
Closing your eyes, you tried to wrap your head around the moment, taking a few deep breaths, feeling the freshness of the air surrounding you.
Slow down.
The sun made the deep blue of the sky reflect on the lake, a shimmer on the surface in the distance, sparse trees and bushes covering the top of the hill you were standing on, a bit separately from most kids.
The light brush of a hand against yours caused you to shoot open your eyes, jumping lightly at the sudden delicate yet profound touch.
"Uh, sorry I didn't mean to sneak up on you. I can also leave again if you want another moment to yourself?", you heard him say, an apologetic tone to his voice.
The rough facade now showed cracks.
Traces of softness, a great amount of empathy and hints of sensitivity were shining through them. He had always been a little more gentle with you than with everyone else in the group, but this telltale sign of trust he was instilling in you over the last hours? That was new.
So new. And so new to you.
Your head turned towards him, eyes squinting a bit because yeah, it was quite bright up there with almost no trees to throw shade, and of course clumsy you had forgotten your sunglasses on the little nightstand next to your bed.
"Eddie no, it's okay" was the only thing you managed to get out, brushing the back of his hand with the back of your index finger, in silent search for more contact, trying to support the words that had just come out of you.
It was just Eddie. You tried to remember Steve's words from lunch break yesterday. He's gonna be okay with adapting.
He turned his back on the sun, more towards you, and the light formed a halo around his head.
Given his reputation back in Hawkins, it looked hilariously absurd.
"Did you have a good first night?", you asked him then, in such a tone indicating your expectation of a sincere answer, while his shadow was covering half your face so you wouldn't have to stare into the late afternoon sun.
"More or less. You know how Steve snores", Eddie said before continuing his dramatic act, "plus, it was really lonely. I think there should be an additional paragraph in the law about an extension from bus seats to beds, you know? I think that would make a real difference and save me from eternal doom and misery."
He returned your previous gesture with his own index finger, his eyes finding yours, giving you a sheepish grin as your cheeks started imitating the colour of very ripe tomatoes.
Your entire body bloomed with electricity from just one light touch. If you didn't know any better, you'd say it was ridiculous.
Yes, there had already been touches that were way more direct than this, but there was something in the way and in the lightness of his touch now, that had your head spinning.
The lightness basically fuelled whatever this thing between the two of you was.
Ms Kelley's voice announcing the beginning of your descend ripped the both of you out of whatever moment you were having right there, and it sucked.
You could have stood there with him for the rest of eternity, if it meant being looked at by his warm, reassuring eyes, making you feel as if you were the center of the universe. It felt like his gaze was reaching the deepest corner of your soul.
And your brain started going 200 kilometers an hour, thinking about the allusion Eddie had just made. He was starting to consume your every thought at this point.
As a collective you managed to return to the deep green veils of the forest around an hour before sunset.
Slowly the day was coming to an end and since it had been a rather warm experience for everyone, the teachers had kindly granted you an evening dip in the lake.
High schoolers only though. Thank fuck.
Honestly, you probably would have gone for it anyway.
The beach included a small wooden pier leading into deeper water, which the boys delightedly acknowledged before using it to gracefully yeet themselves into the cold wet.
They also didn't deem it necessary to strip themselves of their clothes beforehand.
Too much enthusiasm and even more longing for relief from the day's heat and physical efforts. Who knew Michigan could be this warm already in May?
The girls and you had preferred to change into actual swimwear before joining the boys on the beach. A wise decision.
Because now you found yourself standing on the pier together with Nancy and Max, watching Robin follow Steve and dive in head first.
You were silently hoping the water was deep enough for her to not hit her head.
Next thing you saw approaching you on that pier was Eddie, dripping wet everything and soaked to the bone, some worn out jean shorts and dark blue Metallica shirt as well as his dark curls sticking to his skin like glue.
He left a trail of wet footsteps and sprinkles and splashes of water on the dry wood, grinning at you almost eerily and you threw him a similar glance back, because you knew he just wasn't anticipating your abilities to foresee the future when you jumped out of the way the second he started running towards you, trying to pull you into the water with him.
He landed face first, while everyone who had just witnessed that scene bursted into laughter, including you.
"You wish, Munson", you shouted at him and his poorly executed attempt once he had resurfaced, his appearance now reminding you of a wet poodle with his wet dark curls that were sticking to his reddened face, a piece of some green sweetwater plant decorating the top of his head.
You weren't ready to hit the water just yet, which is why Nancy and you decided to just plop down on the pier for a moment with crossed legs, while Max joined Robin and the boys.
Observing the scene happening in front of you, there were Dustin, Lucas and Jonathan, all of them fusioning their powers to swim after a screeching Will who was trying his best to escape being cruelly dunked by his brother and friends, Robin trying to stand on Steve's probably slippery shoulders while Eddie and Max were aiming for the same acrobatic performance.
Nancy next to you let out a chuckle at the sight before turning her head in your direction, "today was so nice, don't you think?"
With a nod you replied to her and leaned back on your arms behind you.
"Yeah it was beautiful! You just don't get those views in Hawkins."
"Yeah, absolutely not. The closest thing you're getting there is Lover's lake with a bunch of drunks fishing in their tiny boats, and that's about it", she paused, "are you in with us for the flower crowns tomorrow?"
Midsummer was still a few weeks away, but that didn't stop you from plucking and braiding.
You and the girls had been having this fantasy of spending this excessive amount of time in nature with flower crowns on your heads, inspired by Scandinavian summer solstice traditions. For weeks you all had been painting this picture in your conversations, anticipation bubbling up every time the topic came up. The picture of the four of you with the flowers of summer in your hair, in the deep green shades and distinct scent of the forest surrounding your every breath these days, had rented a big part of your mind, long before you had stepped on the bus, bringing you here.
"Hm? Oh yeah, definitely."
Losing yourself a little in the thought again, you hadn't yet taken notice of how two figures from the group of people in the water in front of you were missing.
You would learn soon, though.
Because before you knew it, a pair of strong, wet hands hooked themselves in the space of your armpits, lifting you up to stand, while another set of arms wasn't too shy to grab both your legs off the ground, wrapping themselves around your knees.
"Let's get you nice and wet, shall we?", you heard Steve's voice come out behind you in an absurdly husky tone, while–
"Time for your bath, princess!"
Eddie.
You were so taken by surprise, you couldn't even get anything in form of a verbal protest out.
The only thing you saw before your vision went black due to your reflexes was Eddie's mischievous grin between strands of his dark and wet curly mane, Steve's pearly whites being flashed at you equally prominent. Their laughter got muffled by the water invading your ear canals, and the sudden shock of the cold liquid surrounding every inch of your sun warmed skin was forcing a gasp out of your lungs.
When you returned to the surface, both of the boys held onto their bellies, high-fiving one another and still laughing on that pier like two fucking dipshits at you as well as at Nancy who apparently got to suffer the same fate as you, being dropped into the ocean mere seconds later.
With the back of your fingers you wiped the water out of your eyes along with strands of your hair that were clinging onto your cheeks for dear life, while you gathered back clear vision.
Unknowing to the two boys, Jonathan, Lucas and Dustin were currently in the process of sneaking up behind them. With big splashes both Eddie and Steve were forced to ungracefully breach the waves next to you, letting out equally surprised gasps for air before they had to instinctively hold their breaths.
You burst out into another laughing fit when the metalhead slowly appeared next to you just as soaked as half an hour ago, his hair now covering his entire face.
You took one stroke towards him while Jonathan and Dustin landed in the water not too far from you, shortly after being followed by Lucas and Max cannonballing their way in to join everyone.
The laughter and giggles filled the warm air, and you took both your hands to wipe Eddie's mane out of his face, just to reveal his brown chocolate orbs and a dorky smile, gazing at you from underneath.
The ground of the lake where you were finding yourself was close enough for you both to stand on, which made not sinking a lot easier.
"Thanks, sweetheart" was the only thing he brought out before putting a hand on your waist, pulling you closer before wrapping both his arms around your middle, while you responded by wrapping yours around his shoulders.
You thought he was going to bury his face in the crook of your neck with how close he was leaning in just now, connecting his lips to your skin, but all he really did was briefly running his nose over the side of your neck in an upwards motion. Giving you a little nudge while letting out another one of his hums.
It was almost like he wanted to do more than that, it was almost like you could feel him holding himself back. It was almost like you wanted him not to.
His warm breath hit the wet skin on your collarbone and it sent a slight shiver right through your system at the sheer thought of what exactly he was holding back.
And just when you felt him let go of you a bit more, you saw your chance at taking at least a little bit of revenge on him. For conspiring against you with Steve Harrington.
You placed your hands on his shoulders, found purchase on the ground, and your own weight forced him to go head below surface once again.
"Oh darling, that was an unwise decision", was all you heard before he returned the favour, his entire weight on yours as he drowned you beneath him, just before bringing one of his unnecessarily muscular arms around you to pull you back up again swiftly.
Soon after a few more dunks that you practised on Steve and Dustin, your swimming session came to an end when the sun had disappeared behind the trees and the sunset-ish colours of the horizon had faded into several shades of purple and blue.
After fresh showers that helped with rinsing off the lake water and smuck and sweat of the day, the older boys had decided to drop you off at the flower cabin, a nickname for your particular accommodation facility Lucas had come up with during the first bonfire.
To say goodnight or something.
Eddie held you in his grasp, pressed you into his chest for a second, letting you know that you meant something to him, shooting you one last glance, a hint of wistfulness in it, before disappearing surprisingly quickly into the dusk of the forest, towards the cabin he shared with the others.
You hugged Steve and Jonathan goodnight as well, the latter wearing a smirk on his face and you instantly wondered about the reason.
When you looked at your own pillow, you stopped wondering. A polaroid photo had been placed there for decoration, and you let yourself plop down on the mattress to inspect it more closely.
Jonathan had only recently started shooting polaroid in the first place, and the sun had delivered enough light for him to avoid using flash for this one, which had the colours of everything come out more natural.
The photo showed Eddie in his bus seat. You in yours, resting with his arm wrapped around you, his head on yours, both with your headphones on, both passed out. Steve, Dustin, Will and Robin behind you with widened eyes, tongues out and peace signs up.
Unable to hide the smile that spread on your face, you placed the photo on the little nightstand accompanying the bed.
Everyone knew. You knew. Eddie probably knew. But who would say it first?

they are longing to stray
(Read on Ao3)
Steve tried to ignore the empty cushion next to him, staring determinedly at the TV across the room. He’d popped in a VHS without looking at the case, before settling down with his reheated leftovers. It was some subpar action movie, one that he pretended to like more than he actually did just to annoy Robin.
The absence of her running commentary somehow made the movie worse.
He hadn’t seen Robin in two weeks. It was the longest they’d gone without talking to each other since Starcourt.
Steve picked at the fried rice in his lap, moving it around more than actually eating it. It was the last bit of food in the fridge. He needed to stop on his way home tomorrow and stock up. He should have done it last week, but he hadn’t really felt like doing anything last week.
He missed her.
God, this is worse than a break up. He would have laughed at himself if he wasn’t so fucking sad.
It was like Robin had taken half his soul with him when she’d stormed out of their apartment two Saturdays ago. Like she’d packed her duffle, snagged her jacket off of the counter, and ripped his arms off on her way out the door. He didn’t feel like a whole person anymore.
One of their coworkers at the coffee shop had called them ‘unhealthily codependent’ once. Steve thought he understood what they’d meant now.
He wanted Robin back. He’d do anything to get her to walk back through that door, call him an asshole, and stomp into her room. He’d take the silent treatment over her just being gone. Hell, he’d take five more screaming matches and hurt feelings, and words neither of them mean to say but can never take back, over this emptiness.
The worst thing is he knows where she is. He knows the number he could call. He could beg for forgiveness, say he was sorry a million times, tell her he’d never say anything about who she wants to date ever again.
He could say he was lying when he’d shouted that it wasn’t jealousy, even though that would be a lie itself. He could say that he didn’t know anything about healthy relationships, he had no place to judge.
He could call. But he also couldn’t. Because Robin probably didn’t want him to, wanted him to keep his apologies to himself. She probably wanted him to fuck off and never talk to her again. She hadn’t called him after all. And after a conversation with one of her friends at NYU, he realized she hadn’t called anyone except her professors, telling them she had to leave town for a bit and asking for extensions or forwarded schoolwork. Dana had asked if Steve knew what had happened.
“I’m trying not to be worried, but this just isn’t like her.”
“She’ll be back. She wouldn’t just drop out in the middle of the semester.” Steve had told himself that repeatedly, trying to soothe his own worry.
“I know, I know. You’re right. But it still doesn’t make any sense. Did anything happen? Nothing seemed wrong in any of the classes we share, so maybe it was a personal thing–” She interrupted herself with a gasp. “Oh my god . Was it a girl? I know she was talking to that one from Boston, got all flustered whenever she brought her up. Do you think it had anything to do with that?”
Steve hadn’t known how to answer that. What was he supposed to say?
Yeah, it was about that girl from Boston. But not really, I guess. It was more to do with how Robin had somehow fallen ass over teakettle in love with my ex, who had been visiting New York with her girlfriend for a few days and then kept coming back alone every weekend after that to hang out with Robin.
And then Robin came home one morning after staying out all night with her, and said they’d kissed and then more-than-kissed and then decided they wanted to start dating each other.
And instead of being happy for her, I opened my big mouth and said “Fuck, not again.”
So he couldn’t call Robin. Because that would mean calling her in Boston.
Which would mean calling Nancy.
And one: he really didn’t want to do that.
Two: he was pretty sure she’d just hang up on him anyway, especially if Robin had told her about their fight.
Three: if she didn’t hang up, all he probably would have gotten was Tina’s Halloween Party: The Sequel. Which was maybe a little unfair of him to think. But he was sad and his best friend was gone, so fuck it. He could be a little bitter. It helped him with the guilt that was eating away at his brain.
Fuck, he missed Robin.
He dumped the leftovers into the trash, having only eaten a few bites. He washed the tupperware on autopilot. It was starting to stain, they’d need to replace the set soon. They’d
 he’d?
He hoped it was still a they. He hoped he hadn’t fucked this up beyond repair. Robin would come back. Steve would grovel. She’d call him a dingus. And they’d never bring up Nancy ever again.
That would be difficult with Robin and Nancy dating of course, but Steve was aces at ignoring shit when he didn’t want to talk about it. And he had the feeling Robin would be okay with this one exception to their ‘telling each other absolutely everything, even when it was gross’ schtick.
He shut off the TV and the lights and made his way to his bedroom in the dark. The room he had here in New York could not be more different that the one he’d had back in Hawkins. His high school bedroom had been plucked right out of a Home & Gardens spread, no personality and absolutely no warmth. The room he was in now was painted a creamy yellow and covered in posters and pictures and paintings. The small desk in the corner was overflowing with loose leaf papers, random textbooks, and unwashed clothes. It looked more like a teenager’s room than his actual one had.
On his first visit to their apartment, Dustin had taken one step into his room, smiled, and said “So this is what it feels like to be inside your head.”
With the lights off, Steve could barely make out anything, seeing mostly dark rectangles on the walls and messy blobs piled on the floor. He stripped down to his boxers and face planted into his bed. Sleep was unlikely, but maybe if he closed his eyes and pretended hard enough, he could get enough rest to make it through tomorrow without crying.

We Are Family
April 29th.
That’s the day Steve’s world as he knows it comes crashing down. Sort of, at least.
Ironically, they’ve just finished having sex when it happens. Sweat slick skin pressed together from calf to shoulder, legs tangled up beneath the old Garfield comforter that Eddie refuses to be shamed for still owning.
“I can’t believe you fuck me with the same dick that’s been inside my sister,” Eddie says with the sort of nonchalance that Steve expects for a casual conversation about work or how Wayne is doing or what they’re having for dinner or like, literally anything else.
Certainly not this, that’s for sure.
“Pardon?” he asks calmly, trying as hard as he can to keep the wobble out of his voice. And mostly succeeding too, despite the way his chest is suddenly beating so violently against his rib cage he’s convinced there’s no feasible way Eddie can’t hear it too. “You’re an only child from Montana. I know I have
” He pauses, mulls it over in his mind for a second while he chooses his words. “History,” he settles on.
Eddie always gets weirdly touchy when Steve speaks about his dating history derogatorily. Steve isn’t entirely sure why.
It’s kind of cute, though, so it’s not as if he minds.
Eddie hums, seemingly content with his choice before he snuffles a little as he turns in Steve’s arms, pressing his face into his armpit in a way that should probably be gross but somehow isn’t. He blinks up at him, waiting for Steve to carry on.
“I know I have history but I’m not that bad,” he huffs. “I know I’ve put my dick around a fair bit but it certainly doesn’t reach all the way to Montana.”
“Could’ve fooled me,” Eddie mumbles under his breath, earning him a kick to the ankle from Steve. “Also you do know I moved here when I was like, six right?”
Steve quiets him with a quick wave of the hand that’s been wrapped around Eddie’s shoulder, using it to tuck a few stray curls back behind his ear before he returns it to where it had been, stroking soft lines against his skin.
“Of course I know that,” he scoffs, slightly offended that Eddie might think he doesn’t. “I’m not entirely sure why that’s relevant, though.”
“How is it not relevant?” Eddie asks, brows furrowed.
“It’s - I mean - you know what, shut the fuck up. You’re distracting me from the point in hand here,” Steve huffs, rolling his eyes when he notices Eddie’s own crinkling at the corners. “You’re such a dick,” he chides.
Eddie stifles a chuckle against Steve's skin, hot breath tickling him softly as he mumbles an insincere sorry against his chest.
They’re quiet for a moment before Steve speaks again.
“So
.” he drawls, fingers tracing nonsense patterns against Eddie’s shoulder. “Are you actually gonna tell me what the fuck you’re talking about or
”
“Oh,” Eddie perks up, pops his head up from where it’s been wedged against Steve’s armpit. “Nancy, obviously. Who else would it be?”
“What?” Steve splutters, pushing himself upright against the mattress to stare down at Eddie. “Oh my God
”
Eddie shrugs, reaches for the comforter to pull it back up over his newly exposed bare chest. He looks utterly ridiculous, Steve thinks, as he often does when he lies there freshly fucked and rosy cheeked beneath the fluffy blanket he’s had since middle school.
It’s a good job Steve loves him.
This stupid, ridiculous boy who, as it turns out, could’ve been his brother in law in another life.
Steve shudders at the thought.
“I don’t - it’s not like - you don’t see the resemblance?” he asks, shucking a hand free to push at his curls as if it’s obvious.
“Okay well first of all, Nancy has a perm.”
“She does not.”
“Does too.”
“Uh-huh,” Eddie shakes his head against the pillow. “Them are some real genuine Munson family curls, baby.”
He looks so proud that Steve almost doesn't want to burst his bubble.
Almost.
He rolls his eyes. “Hate to break it to you, baby, but Nance and I were together long enough for me to know that she definitely has a perm,” he says with a shrug. “Nothing natural about those curls I’m afraid.”
Eddie gapes at him, mouth opening and closing a few times as if he can’t quite decide where to go from here.
Eventually he sighs, tucking a hand up under his cheek as he says, “Guess you learn something new every day.”
Yeah, Steve thinks with a tut that goes unnoticed, you really do.
“I can’t believe she lied to me,” Eddie mutters dejectedly, burrowing himself further beneath the stupid blanket. Garfield’s eyes are exactly level with where Eddie’s nipples should be and the sight of it is making Steve want to scream.
Steve pats his head the way he would a sad dog; enough for Eddie to know he’s still there but gentle enough that he hopes he won’t get bitten for it.
“Wait,” he says suddenly, head cocking in Eddie’s direction. “Nancy knows about this?”
“About
about being
my sister?”
Steve nods tentatively, watching as Eddie rolls his eyes.
“How the fuck d’ya think I found out?” he asks as if it’s obvious. As if any of this had even been within the realms of possibility for Steve before this very moment.
“From Nancy? Nancy Wheeler? The same Nancy we both know?”
He rolls his eyes again.
“No, Steve. An entirely different Nancy. Yes the same Nancy we both fucking know. Why would I be telling you this if it wasn’t?”
“I dunno,” he mutters quietly. Tacks on an even quieter, “Why are you telling me at all?”
Eddie sits up, mirroring Steve’s position on his own side of the bed as the blanket pools around his soft hips. The outline of the new tattoo that sits atop his thigh peeks out from underneath it, the thick black ink dark against his pale skin.
“This isn’t - this doesn’t
” he trails off.
“No, no,” Steve interrupts with a shake of his head, mostly believing himself. “It’s-”
“Yeah.”
“Yeah.”
It’s quiet then, nothing but their breathing and the distant hum of the refrigerator in the next room filling the space around them.
Steve tries not to let his mind wander, to think the worst. Of course he doesn’t want this to change things between them, why would he. But how can it not. How can they-
“Do you-”
“How do-”
Eddie chuckles, scrubbing a hand over his face as he mutters a muffled sorry and motions for Steve to continue.
“I don’t - I’m confused,” he says. He mulls it over in his mind, brows furrowing in confusion. “How does that even work?”
“Well,” Eddie starts, taking Steve’s hands between his own equally clammy ones. “When a mommy and a daddy love each other very much-”
Steve cuts him off with an eye roll, pushing his hands away.
“Wait, wait, wait,” Eddie rushes out, grabbing for his fingers again, only continuing when they’re back between his own. “I’m sorry,” he giggles.
Steve shakes his head, powerless to damp down the smile that tugs at the corner of his lips no matter how hard he tries.
“Continue.”
Eddie nods.
“Okay, so,” he takes a deep breath. “Sometime in the summer of sixty six Uncle Wayne had to make a trip down here for some reason and he was young and dumb and-”
“Hang on-” Steve interrupts, watching as Eddie blinks up at him, light from the lamp over in the corner glinting in his big brown eyes. “This is about Wayne?”
Eddie makes a face as if to say duh, who the fuck else would it be about. As if Steve is the idiot here.
“You - you do know Wayne isn’t actually your dad, right?”
Eddie pouts.
“He is the clos-”
“-est thing to a father you’ve ever had,” Steve joins in, smirking as Eddie rolls his eyes. “Yeah, no. I know. But you didn’t fucking come from his jizz, did you?”
Eddie pulls a face.
“Please don’t talk about my uncle like that.”
“I’m just saying-”
“Okay but don’t?”
“Fine.”
“Thank you.”
Steve huffs.
Eddie smiles and leans over to press a kiss to the corner of his mouth. “You were saying?”
“Oh, yeah. It’s not like you came from
” he trails off, gestures the hand that’s not holding Eddie’s in the direction of his balls. “He’s not your actual dad, yano?”
“Of course I know that,” Eddie tuts.
Steve raises his eyebrows at him expectantly.
“What?” he asks.
“So
”
Eddie stares at him, confused. “So
?”
Steve rolls his eyes. “So, she’s not your sister at all then, is she?”
“No but like - I mean,” he pauses, presses his lips together tightly. “In a round about way-”
“Uh-huh,” Steve interrupts with a shake of his head. “Actually literally not even at all.”
“Close enough.”
“Not really.”
Eddie rolls his eyes. “Fine,” he mutters. “But she’s still more my sister than yours.”
“Thank God,” Steve laughs. “Given that I’m the one who’s had their dick inside her.”
He watches as Eddie bites his lip.
“Wait. You haven’t-”
“Oh, no. Absolutely not.”
“Okay, good. Good.”
“Great, actually.”
Steve grins, using the hand still clasped around Eddie’s to tug him back against his side, chuckling as he falls into him with an oof.
He settles himself back against the headboard, content to have Eddie wrapped around him once again, more than happy to forget this conversation ever even happened.
“You’re not allowed to tell anyone about this, by the way,” Eddie pipes up a few moments later. “Ted doesn’t exactly know and it’s not-”
Steve cuts him off with a kiss to the forehead.
“Don’t worry,” he assures him, tugging him closer against his side. “I’m not exactly in a rush to talk about any of this ever again.”

Her friends had been acting odd, which really wasn’t that surprising when she really thought about it since they were oddballs to start out. What really made her step back and be suspicious was her girlfriend starting to act odd. Nancy was usually very straight-forward, blunt, goal-oriented. She stressed the importance of communication in the relationship, was an open-book with her, and never-ever strayed far from her routine unless it involved two things: something very very dangerous and important or anything to do with her job as a journalist.
But, this wasn’t anything to do with her job as that’s usually breaking news coverage where a story breaks and she needs to start a deep dive of investigation (which earned her the name Nancy Drew with their friend group). But, Nancy isn’t running off to the archives, the library, or the office in the early hours of the morning and spending all day there right now so it couldn't be work. And, as far as Y/N knew, there wasn’t any type of Upside Down creature threatening the town right now so it couldn’t be that.
She was truly stumped and it was bugging her. Not because she was insecure in her relationship and thought Nancy was cheating. There would be definite signs of that. But because she didn’t know what was going on and she didn’t like that. Y/N is an incredibly perceptive person, a trait she often cursed especially in times like this where she overthinks everything. Because of her perceptiveness, she needed to know what was going on at all times and if she didn’t, she spiralled.
“Hey, what’s going on up there?” Y/N was pulled out of her thoughts by her friend, Robin. Robin stood in front of her as she sat at the cafe table - their mutually agreed upon meeting point. Y/N blinked, a little stunned by the sudden intrusion.
“Oh, um,” She hummed, gathering her purse as she stood up. “Nothing. Just thinking really.” Y/N shrugged it off. If there was something going on, her girlfriend was going through great lengths to hide it because it took Y/N this long to notice two months worth of odd behaviour. So, obviously, Nancy has either become incredibly lax in her secret keeping, or whatever it was, Nancy was getting ready to reveal it.
“I bet it’s about the new job you’re starting,” Robin theorised about what had her friend so distracted. “You’re nervous, a perfectly normal human reaction to this situation, but of course, it’s you so you’ve probably thought yourself into a tizzy meaning you were in the middle of an overthinking spiral.” She determined, talking a mile a minute as they started to walk towards a random location.
Y/N really wasn’t sure what Robin had planned for today, all she knew was that she had asked her to hang out for the day. Y/N had agreed, knowing that she and Robin were interested in the same things meaning whatever Robin had in mind, Y/N probably liked. “You know me so well,” Y/N shook her head. Technically, Robin did get the overthinking spiral part right. “And I thought Steve was joining us?” She asked, her brows furrowed at their missing friend.
Robin waved her off. “He suddenly had ‘plans’,” She put air quotes around the word ‘plans’ with an exaggerated eye roll. “Something about some party for some girl. You know how he is, any chance at getting a date.”
“I see.” Y/N hummed, narrowing her eyes at her best friend. While Robin might be an oddball, she was an oddball Y/N knew since freshman year. An oddball who knew Robin’s deepest, darkest secrets. An oddball who hid in isolation with her throughout high school in fear that someone would find out that they liked girls. So she knew Robin. Which means, she knows that she knows something she’s not telling her.
“But I am sure you will see him later, he’ll come running back to us with his tail between his legs when they all shoot him down.” Robin shrugged as Y/N followed her lead.
“I see.” Y/N hummed again, earning a look from Robin. The way her blue eyes flicked nervously confirmed it. Robin knew something that she was supposed to keep a secret - one of her biggest inabilities. It was only a matter of time before the secret came spilling from her friend’s chapped lips.
Robin cleared her throat, eyes darting to look in front of them before they widened. “You know what,” She asked suddenly, her hand shoving Y/N towards the building next to them. “I think we should go in here!”
“Robin, this is an event hall-” She was cut off by her friend, shoving her towards it again. “Ugh,” She groaned, stumbling away from Robin’s hands as they reached out to shove her again. “Fine, I am going! I am going!” She relented, walking up the concrete stairs to the hall, eying Robin suspiciously as she brushed past her to lead the way.
As her friend opened the door, she could hear the echoes of Nancy’s voice instructing people to keep quiet and warmth bloomed in her chest. A surprise. It wasn’t a secret per se, but a surprise. “Come, this way.” Robin waved to her to follow her.
Smiling to herself, Y/N decided to play along, not wanting her girlfriend or friends to know the surprise was spoiled. “What are we doing here, Robin? We didn’t book a room out.” She asked, sounding slightly stressed to try to sell the part. Silence filled the hall other than the soft creaks of the floorboards when the hidden friends shifted.
“I just wanna see something in this room-” Robin waved her off, walking into one of the event rooms, flicking on the lights. Once the light turned on, everyone jumped out, yelling “surprise”. Even though she was expecting it, Y/N jumped slightly, looking around the now lit room with all her friends and family there.
Nancy stood right in front of her, a cardboard party hat (that matched everyone else's) on her head and a wide smile on her face. A large banner was hung on the far wall spelling out a hand painted “congratulations” in Y/N’s favourite colour. “Congratulations on your big job! We’re so excited for you!” Nancy beamed, nearly tackling her girlfriend in a hug.
Instantly, Y/N wrapped her arms around her as well, stumbling back from the force of the hug as Robin clapped happily beside them - mostly proud of herself for keeping the secret and pulling off the plan. “You really didn’t have to do all of this, Nancy! This must have taken you months and a load of money!” She gushed, looking around the room in awe, taking in everything. All Y/N’s favourite party foods laid out perfectly, several different drinks (some homemade and some store bought) on another table, each decoration handmade or picked out with the keen eye of her girlfriend.
“Nonsense! This is a big deal, Y/N. You deserve to be fussed over,” Nancy playfully scolded her. Y/N nodded, knowing it appeared playful, but Nancy meant it. She had made it her personal mission when they first started going out to make sure Y/N knew that she deserved the whole world and nothing short of it. She was the reason Y/N even applied for this job - without Nancy she probably would have just passed on the opportunity with a shrug and a muttered “like I’d ever get that job”.  “And I made it a surprise party! Were you surprised? You looked it! I actually think I got you this time!”
Y/N smiled sweetly, nodding. “I was definitely not expecting this, I love it.” She confirmed her surprise, pulling Nancy in to her by their conjoined hands, pressing a sweet kiss on her lips, earning another round of celebrating cheers from their friends and family.
“Good,” Nancy smiled at her once they pulled away, eyes alight and dancing with joyfulness and pure love. “Gives me more practice when I surprise you with a ring.” She winked, her finger softly playing with Y/N’s left ring finger causing a trail of goosebumps to travel up her arm. It was decided (informally) that Nancy would be the one to ask Y/N to marry her at some point in their relationship and both of them just ran with it.
“I can’t wait to be surprised again.” Y/N whispered back. Not to hide their love, but because her heart was so light and happy that she was scared to ruin this elated feeling by talking any louder.

Would you personally prefer for writers to get stancy together somewhere during season 5 or do you think it's better if we only see them together in an epilogue after a time skip?
the simple answer is that obviously i want to see them together and on screen as much as possible because i need PAYOFF for that incredibly horny upside down bandaging scene.
like, this show is fairly antiseptic when it comes to sex (which is totally fine, know your characters, know your audience etc.) - and then they drop something like THAT right in the middle of the action???
GIVE ME MORE.
but the real answer hinges entirely on whether or not i’m guaranteed endgame. if some sad tack-on epilogue is the only way I get to see steve and nancy together and alive and thriving at the end of the show then fuck it, i have a GREAT imagination and i do not need to see every beat of their relationship.
because more than anything, i fear that my doomsday scenario will play out if we actually get to see stancy get together anytime early on or even sometime toward the middle of s5.
scenario under the cut because it gave me hives just thinking about it. come anon. let’s spiral together.
my doomsday scenario:
since i think it’s been implied that some kind of time jump happens in s5, my nightmare is that they spent s4 laying the groundwork for a stancy reunion so that they can get together in a way that seems organic during whatever kind of interim period takes place during s5.
they’ll give them all the happiness they didn’t the first time around, Steve will have found joy and fulfillment in love and then BAM - when the time comes, they’ll shank him late in the final act of the show for high emotional impact. ☠
then they’ll either imply or show that j*ncy ultimately found a way back to each other at the end.
at which point I, dear anon, will FINALLY cancel my Netflix subscription and also maybe hurl myself into the closest deep body of water. like completely normal people do.
what i hate so viciously about this scenario (besides the fact that i think Steve death trope is genuinely the worst, most reductive way they could conclude his arc) is that i can kind of sort of actually see it playing out.
i don’t think it’s LIKELY (i honestly believe that if the duffers haven’t killed a main character at this point, they’re not likely to and I’m actually quite happy about that), and i fear the stancy vs j*ncy mutually assured destruction that would result from this moste vile twiste of plot.
but.
they did dangle some serious carrots last season. and this IS a way I could see the writers following them to a conclusion that makes (some) narrative sense without straying from the j*ncy endgame i fully believe they had planned in s1-2.
and I DON’T WANT IT.
anyway I’m sorry anon this went so far beyond what you were asking. in conclusion, give me all the stancy AND give me the endgame i deserve after decades of tv-watching heartbreak. (here’s looking at you how i met your mother. đŸ«Ą)

Vampire Eddie Munson Fic Recs
This list will include all ratings and tags, so read at your own discretion! :)
All’s Well That Ends Better by mach_9 - Rated M
After his father signs a treaty with the murderous Lord Vecna, Crown Prince Steven Harrington is sent to be married off to Vecna’s right hand man.
The Bite of '86 by champselysees - Rated E
He toes Eddie’s corpse with the edge of his shoe a little bit, acting before having the thought at the back of his head that maybe that’s disrespectful, or something, but he doesn’t dwell on it. He’s bloodier than the last time Steve saw him, if that’s even possible. He’s pale, and still, and, well
he definitely still looks dead, an image he already wasn’t forgetting anytime soon, though notably without the crying child over his body. He kneels down, reaching his hand out to touch his face, to—to feel? To check if this is real, because this is feeling weirdly real and also not? Hell, Steve doesn’t know what he’s doing.
His hand is reaching out to touch Eddie’s cheekbones in a surreal moment of almost-contact when Eddie’s eyes open wide and he gasps a load of air into his lungs, and Steve screams.
Eddie clears his throat. “Oh, shit. Hey, Harrington.”
or
After S04E09, Eddie wakes up feeling different.
i wanna live forever (forever in your heart) by hydrangea_bush - Rated M
It all started with the flickering of his lamp.
// Eddie is alive in the Upside Down. Steve helps him out.
i want to hold you close (skin pressed against me tight) by Anonymous - Rated M
There was a sudden, soft clatter, and Steve's heart stopped.
The figure was cloaked in the darkness, hidden where the light from their flashlights didn't reach, exact features difficult to discern—but he could see torn, ragged clothing hanging across them, form tall and seemingly skinny. A large shape stretched behind them, and pointed ears broke free from a mess of long, dark hair.
Most notably, however, were the sharp, red eyes of a predator. When their eyes locked, a sharp hiss filled the air, and then the figure lunged.
Steve moved before he could think, dropping both the flashlight and his bat as his hands collided into Dustin's shoulder and shoved as hard as he could—and Dustin let out a yelp of protest and he saw swore he saw Nancy start to whip around towards them and then something slammed him into the ground, effectively knocking all of his breath from his lungs with a choked noise and ending his line of sight with his friends.
Eddie is a vampire, and Steve has plently of feelings about that.
If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It) by acestyx - Rated T
Eddie’s craving blood badly, so Steve offers himself as an “emergency donor.” Both enjoy the experience much more than they expected to.
—
Or, Eddie can hear Steve’s heartbeat, and it is quite the tattletale.
Look What The Cat Dragged In by KitPheonix - Not Rated
Steve Harrington has a soft spot for strays, anyone with eyes could see that. He collects outcasts like baseball cards these days. It's no surprise when he does the same with an abandoned black cat who brings warmth and love into the lonely parts of his life that he's always kept hidden. Steve had no idea that finding a cat would start the domino effect that would lead him to Eddie Munson, and the supernatural secrets hiding in Hawkins Indiana.
You're Divine by OonionChiver - Rated E
‘Blood?’ Eddie says again.
Eyes black but for the slice of iridescent white in the centre. His teeth are sharp, his hands are weapons and Steve thinks maybe he’s made a mistake doing this without telling Eddie first. Eddie’s focus lowers, it moves to his left hand which is

Oh fuck.
It’s dripping blood onto the floor.
‘Shit,’ Steve says, takes a single step back, swallows. ‘Eddie, I’m so sorry, fuck.’
Eddie can’t seem to look away, can’t bring his ethereal gaze back up where it belongs. Steve thinks he should run, he should flee. A tiny part of him knows Eddie will chase him. Eddie will catch him, outrun him easily.
It's more than a little fucked up how that thrills him.
 I Wasn't Being Subtle by Garden_of_Stones - Rated T
In Steve's defence, he thought they knew. Hawkins is an interesting town, so he can't exactly blame them for not noticing, but he wasn't exactly subtle about it.
So honestly, he can't be blamed for what happened.

I am in 100% agreement with you on the Russia and California segments being too long. The side quest to UTAH
 why?!
Yeah, I mean, I know they need everyone to be doing something, but it’s kind of their fault for having too many main characters lmao. I love them all, but after a certain point, you just end up with extremely boring plots, like Russia and California.
I still think part of it is that they’ve gotten a bit too ambitious in straying so far from Hawkins, but IMO they also need to return to the original groupings: kids, teenagers, adults. I don’t like that they split up Nancy and Jonathan for all of s4, or that Mike, Will and El were apart from Lucas, Dustin, and Max.
They also just need to, like, have the guts to write off more characters. I’m sorry, I love Steve, but I think he should’ve died in s4 instead of Eddie. It would’ve had much more of an emotional impact (not that Eddie’s death wasn’t sad, but we hadn’t known him nearly as long) and finally put an end to the Nancy/Steve/Jonathan love triangle that they keep trying to revive.

stray agnes grey observations
because I'm reading (well, listening to) this right on the heels of Villette, I can't help but compare Rosalie Murray to Ginevra Fanshawe at every turn. So far I think the major difference is that however shallow it was, Ginevra's affection for Lucy feels more genuine than Rosalie's for Agnes. Can't totally pinpoint why, but there's a level of teasing intimacy in Villette that just isn't there in Agnes
this narrator (Rachel Bavidge) is eating at every turn. her slight northern accent is enhancing the experience so much. she also does fantastic voices. shoutout to the horrible brat children + matilda and little old lady nancy
speaking of nancy: her facilitation of meet cutes. returning a little old lady's beloved cat after having just cussed out the local gamekeeper to save said cat's life might just be the best Brontë Love Interest intro yet. jury's still out on mr. weston himself but ok sir you have my attention
matilda is literally fine she's a baby butch let her swear and ride horses. @ matilda babygirl I'm so sorry you were born 200 years too early to make out with girls on the softball team
the word "hoyden" appears so many times in this book it's starting to sound like Charlie Brown Adult sounds

Hello there! I just wanted to introduce myself it sounds like and adequable thing to do. Since I'm starting on Tumblr now.
My name is Maria Eduarda, but you can call me duda, maddu or madds.
I'm 24 years old now (09/02/2024) since my birthday is on january.
I don't have a favorite song actually, but I feel a vibe throughout my preferences I can't define exactly what it is. So I let it some here then you guys see what you want to think about me:

1- Cheese - Stray Kids 2- Charmer - Stray Kids 3- The Sound - Stray Kids 4- Double Knot - Stray Kids 5- Megaverse - Stray Kids
Sabrina Carpenter (2014- 2017 Phase)

But hey I had my first love, I'm tired of people asking me if I haved loved before, just because I didn't kiss or dated doesn't mean I haven't loved someone or haven't been loved.)

Things I "hate"
1- Horror stuff, I can't deal with any horror things, I'm very sensible to the topic. Just watching the first season of Stranger Things my blood pressure dropped. (It has also dropped in a biology class where we were studying genetic diseases or syndroms.) So yeah, can't deal with that. (Sorry yeah that means I avoid halloween content a lot)
2- Arachnidis, I can't see one without getting a reaction also if I decide the animal looks like one I also won't be chill taking a look at it.
3- Dark, nictophobia is my phobia number one, while I was growing I have learned to control it better, but I rather keep even a small light next to me in case I need it.
4- Injustice, I always try to stand up if I think something wrong is happening to someone, I don't care what other people think. If I believe it's incorrect and needs to be changed Imma do it. I have fought even my family because of things like this. I won't hate you for this, I'll just try and stand up in favor of it.
5- Disrespect, same description of the above if you're wrong in doing it so. Imma talk 'bout it. Imma display my mind on the topic.
I think we cool for now. If you have any questions about me. I believe my questions inbox is open, feel free to ask smth to me there.
It's literally 01:40 AM right now. I'm heading to bed. Hope you guys have a good morning, afternoon, night or whatever you're living now.
Love y'all take care and have a friendly tight hug if you want if you don't feel greeted on your favorite way, bye hope to see ya around.

alright it's time,,, sweet home 2 review
so,, i don't fully rmbr s1 maybe i'll rewatch it for yoon jisoo bc i love her but,, i did like s2 better
first of all i like that the exposition isn't in your face, i saw some ppl saying there was too much going on bc too many subplots and all and i unkindly disagree i liked the new characters and i like how everything doesn't have to make sense from the beginning you can just figure it out as you watch and i'm a big fan of that
also maybe i'm being silly but i don't see how there were too many plots bc?? it's just ppl facing the end of the world as they knew it and adapting to a new lifestyle, trying to survive and all there's new characters which makes sense bc it's happening in a whole new place and ngl i did think it was a little weird to go from "we're stuck in this building" to we're not really stucjrbut we live in this new place with new ppl and there's outside stuff happening at the same time but when i got used to it it was fine tbh
now when they do the time skip (cw nancy drew war flashbacks) i was a bit confused i had to make sure it wasn't the wrong ep but still not necessarily a bad thing
now before i start and also bc idk where to start i Will say it's a bit weird how they keep killing their disabled characters, yoon jisu also went through it i think it's really interesting to see how she deals with her loss of hearing and it speaks to how exhausted she must have been after everything she went through to survive s1 she goes deaf a'd simply doesn't tell anyone she's like,, ooh a problem for another day getting to a safe place comes first especially with her past and all it becomes all the more heartbreaking now i didn't look into it but park gyuyoung was Booked that year so that might be why they killed off her character still i enjoyed her performance for the few eps where she was still alive
now onto the star of the show lee eunyoo slaying once more but this time in a way that feels more respectable/admirable,, again i don't rmbr much of s1 but in my memory she was mostly just bark not much bite and i'm happy that she started to get more active altho i'm sad that it comes from all the loss she's suffered, her brother who she desperately hopes is alive, her crush (i'm still so confused abt that like i don't understand straight ppl so maybe that's why but their whole thing should have been explored a little more if they wanted me to think of it as romantic) disappeared he could be dead for all she knows, that one sister kid (i'm sorry but i'm too lazy to look up any names rn) and then yoon jisu and that all builds up to her whole murderer misunderstanding + knowing that her reputation also has consequences on ppl she might as well consider family so even tho there's no use trying to convince ppl she's not a murderer there's still smth she thinks she can do which is : isolate herself and try her hardest to bear the blame all on her own. she probably sees a bit of herself in that kid who lost his sister and she tries to make sure he doesn't stray off the right path but really who is she to tell him what to do? and just now i realized this could very well mirror her relationship to her brother, they're not related but they Are family and so she tries to keep him safe doesn't want him to end up like her but she can't replace his sister and he can't replace her brother
now that little guy,, i'm so happy with how he's written. this guy loses his dad and then his sister and he rmbrs being told that if he's bad, bad things will happen but what exactly did he do wrong to suffer so much loss? nothing, and that explains his anger and his rebellion everything that's happened has made him harden now he knows what it is to survive, and he knows abt loss and he knows abt being orphaned and in a way he knows abt loneliness even though he's just a kid so ofc he's mad ofc he's rebelling sure you could think of him as annoying if you want but even then you should still be able to understand why he's become like this and me personally i could never be mad at him
now another kid that i like,, new girl played by kim sia (don't quote me on that tho) i love that she truly is Just a kid, she's a monster from birth which ultimately makes her unique but she was also born from a human mother who then abandons her (tbt to me comparing this to frankenstein) then she's raised by this amazing monster brother and she easily makes friends with other monsters probably also bc of her powers so in her head : monsters = good. she doesn't know much abt humans besides from the fact that she was abandoned by one but then her mother comes back and she's willing to try and understand them, surely if her mother's human then they can't be that bad right? wrong! get abused bc of smth you can't change and aren't responsible for lol l + ratio. after that she gets abused by more humans and her brother goes more or less missing he himself is struggling with his own monster vs. human thing. she ends up regretting giving humans a chance and decides black and white thinking Is the answer for sure : monsters are good and humans are bad. however this isn't enough and she wants revenge, she turns her monster repulsed mother into half (?) a monster. and i can't commend her enough bc yes, if you hate monsters so much, why don't you try being one, and then maybe they can be a real family, her, her mother and her brother.
now the question remains : are humans the real monster?
and from episode 1 sweet home seems to be telling you that, yes, they are. but most especially humans in positions of power. those ppl. dying in that tunnel? killed by military, scared military sure but just a little pause would have made them realize the monster they were facing was in no way harmless, just a parent trying to play hide and seek going so far as to protect someone's child just bc they can relate to that kind of fear. the threat in that moment comes from the humans in charge of ppl's safety, and the ppl who want to be seen as trustworthy protectors end up renouncing the military and the ppl in power who seem to think so little of ppl's lives, we do seem to have a clear villain and that line of thinking starts off strong from episode 1 in a way that almost seems Too brutal but does feel right.
now unto,, yang hyeji,,, my gf,,, and jung yeseul my poor little meow meow,,,, this goes back to the beginning of this rant,, i don't need obvious exposition and i don't need all the information from the get go. jung yeseul gets privilege from her mother being an important person in this new small society and uses it to her advantage why bother with working when she can take it easy? she takes full advantage and i can't blame her, what would i do in her position? idk i'm not in her position. but as time passes you start to see that there's one person she doesn't want to disappoint and it's her mother, why? bc she's not her biological mother, just like she took her in she could easily cast her out, there's nothing she wants more than to be her mother's daughter. now this might alr be theory but i think the person in that one family picture? not jung yeseul but the biological kid instead now that kid is sick so who is the mother protecting? not jung yeseul, she threw her to the wolves easily bc she simply doesn't care, so that leave us with two options : her husband or her kid who could have survived by turning into a monster now jung yeseul who so desperately wanted a mother is faced with this betrayal, she was lied to, she has no one to rely on. does she pull a lee eunyoo or do her friends step up to help? that's smth we'll hopefully find out in s3 and i can't wait for that i am so curious abt her i sant her to betray her mother to prove that she can learn from her and i want more girls supporting girls. i need to see what becomes of jung yeseul in s3.
now lee eunhyuk,, he is there,, good for him don't be too bitchy and just go back to your sister pwease
and those two military guys? yeah they're gay. you can't make me think otherwoser, the evidence is right in front of my eyes. so hopefully they decide that ableism is bad enough and they don't need to add homophobia on top of that and they let them be happy!
that science,, go oh jungse keep being a little freak with your ideas on human evolutions hopefully you have fun and then you die
priest guy? i need to know what his and that other girl's deal is, i love a messy illegal past i hope he dies and she lives but it seems unlikely.
lucysablefan 2023 review
also i didn't get to talk abt my top however many things that i've watched in 2023 and i'm probably going to have to make this into a thread but firdt of all revenant and celebrity are definitely Up There for me from the cast to the story and everything else i was completely into those shows and that's a lot for me bc getting bored halfway into a show is my number one (reluctant) hobby.
i definitely think revenant escaped that partly bc there was no obvious romance plot for me to get bored after they get tgt but even without it being obvious kim taeri and hong kyung tgt in that show was one of the best decision ever made in cinema. kim taeri stuns us once again with her amazing acting + shim dalgi moment s, that was great i'm still not done watching more of her stuff but i really do love seeing her in stuff i'm watching it's always a delightful surprise and she slayed that role like it was written for her so that was great. oh jungse was there too (ig 🙄) and it was nice he did his job and i was sold + yang hyeji moment ! always a blast seeing her in anything (will make another appearance when i talk abt sweet home 2 in this post eventually)
now celebrity,,, amazing drama, i'll be honest at first i wasn't too sold on the influencer plotline but it's a park gyuyoung drama and as a humble lesbian i just had to tune in + lee chungha slay once again, i've loved her ever since vampire detective and this character was amazing for her
anyways i loved the plot, loved the execution, one grievance i have is definitely the fact that seo ari ends up with that loser classist guy intead of yoon sihyeon which was??? like if not for homophobia ik they would have ended up tgt bc seo ari has too much respect to stay with hjk for sure
also one thing i absolutely Have to comment on is that one scene where seo ari ruins her dress and then she goes "i can just pay for it" or smth along those lines and when she realizes what she said she gets a little taken aback? ye that scene birthed me actually bc??? what amazing writing truly just art
also literally the whole cast in that show was just like oh ye i'm an amazing performer and here's proof so that was definitely a treat for the audience (me)
now smth that Didn't come out during that year but i finally watched bc of park sewan (i still haven't finished doona but when i found out she played in it i was like!!!! school 2017 actress moment, idk why i have this weird cast of school 2017 thing but i do and it simply can't be helped) anwz it's!!!! ultimate weapon alice or wth title that you know it by. now i'll be honest the ending? i wasn't thrilled but i also didn't care much for it bc this drama just felt like one where the ending really isn't that important like ye i used to study lit so having an "oh this is a tragedy (shakespeare war flashbacks)" moment is always nice but that's not what this is abt, the sound design (? eng isn't my first language so don't be mean to me) alone makes this show better than average, the writing? impeccable, those imaginary somewhat comedic scenes? right up my alley, every episode was just a treat after another i had a Great time watching it, the characters and their dynamics were truly amazing and the acting was just constantly delivering once again i just love park sewan and i will finish watching doona for her (mostly, i love suzy too ofc <3)
now smty else i watched that i lived this year : enigma. what a show, short but a masterpiece nonetheless and i can't wait for s2 although obv as i was forced to learn through being a cw nancy drew fan, i should always keep my expectations low when the first season is a little too good. also prim won't be there which booooo,, but i'll get over it and i can't wait to see the new charas.
one thing to know abt me : i love visually pleasing stuff and if you play around with format a little bit and add some great mixed media to your show not only am i sold but i'm also telling whoever is willing to listen to go and watch your show i'm easy and i'm not ashamed.
anwz brain no worky anymore so i'll add onto this eventually but don't hold me to that (just rmbrd i have to talk abt sweet home 2 so i Will be back for that hehe)
