There are so many naruto time travel fics out there but what I need SPECIFICALLY is an ANBU era team of Kakashi, Tenzo, Itachi, and Shisui getting flung into the founders era.
Like. Ok just looking from the political side of it that's;
A) 2 very young and VERY powerful Uchiha's (one of which is the future clan head!! Politics!!)
B) A very fucked up baby mokuton user who's still in the middle of being deprogrammed and can totally pass for Senju
C) The free wild card that is Hatake clan lore on top of having a stolen sharingan. On top of *that* him being the team leader of a team of kids who, in the time period context, should both be at eachothers throats and probably not be expected to obey the commands of someone not only from another clan but a way smaller one
Theres SO much potential there!! So many political implications in virtually ALL of the directions!!!!
Yk what as I'm typing this out I'm having ✨️ideas✨️ so let's make some story points to sort those out:
• I think itd be neat to have this happen like. A year? Ish? Before the massacre? So age wise, and full disclaimer I'm referencing Google and Wikipedia rn so I could totally be wrong, I think that's :
Kakashi (18)
Tenzo (17)
Itachi (12)
Shisui (15)
Could be wrong about the ages but honestly it's my world you're just living in it, so.
Then me going totally purely off of my own headcannons, were going to say they came in a about a year before Izuna died and place the founders ages as:
Madara (23)
Hashirama (23)
Izuna (19)
Tobirama (18)
Big fan of Tobirama being the youngest between the 4 but projecting the aura of someone as old as like. Idk, however old Madara is. Very funny to me, 10/10
• I'm personally a big fan of dogteeth kakashi so we're running with that all the way home. Also a huge fan of the "Hatake's are a distant, more feral cousin of Inuzuka clan" hc along with some sprinklings of "back in the day they had a bit of a Reputation(tm) for being a 'lill wild, and everyone generally tries to avoid them. Which isn't too much of a problem because theyre a very small out of the way clan from Iron, they just have a big reputation in contrast to their size.
In more modern times tho, along with (obviously) having dwindled down to a single depressed teenager, they've become a lot tamer over the years due to village life. Kakashi is a Hatake, 100%, but he is NOT up to the standards of this time. Which becomes a bit funny when people see him, go "oh FUCK it's a Hatake" and then start edging slowly towards the door like he's about to rip their throat out with his teeth. Meanwhile he's standing there like 🧍‍♂️"am I that ugly."
Give me a scene where, finally used to this reaction to him from the general shinobi population, the team starts to use it to their advantage.
"Give us the scroll or we'll let the Hatake off the leash to have his fun with you. He's been awfully hungry latley you know, hasn't had fresh meat in days"
Kakashi, feeling kind of stupid, gave his best growl.
It caused an almost immediate, embaressed flush to rise to his face, but he didn't let up. It sounded more like an almost pathetic puppy growl than anything to his ears, but apparently it was enough to convince the trembling enemy nin because he slowly lifted the scroll up in offering.
Wow. Now he couldn't tell if he was embaressed for himself or for this guy.
Probably both to be honest.
• So like. Itachi is the clan heir. That's big. That's important. Let's do something with that.
First off, I had a great time reading this one fic (tho I don't even remember what the fic itself was about now, oops) where a plot point of it was how Sasuke is just a walking stereotype of main house Uchiha. Like people look at him and they don't just go "oh that's an Uchiha." They go "oh fuck that's an UCHIHA Uchiha." He's so fucking painfully, obviously related to the very tippy top of the clan that anyone not blind can tell. It's in the way he looks, it's in the way he talks and treats those around him, it's in the way he fucking holds himself. You look at him and every other stereotype about the Uchiha clan is there in big, bold letters. (On top of that he's also a dead wringer for Izuna, which I'm such a sucker for and desperatley wish people would do more with)
So like let's give that to Itachi here because it's so fun for several reasons.
First off; Sasuke in this is like. Straight up a doppelganger of Izuna, just a few generations apart. They could be twins. Itachi, as I'm sure you are aware, is Sasuke's big brother. So let's take some liberties and say that Itachi could absoloutley pass as a blood sibling to Izuna and Madara.
He is however 12, so we're also going to say that the only people who get to make this connection is anyone who's seen the siblings when they were also at a similar age.
On top of that however he has the 'walking amalgamation of all the stereotypes of the main Uchiha house' so anyone who isn't blind will look at him and assume he's somewhere in the sphere of 'important main house person' tho who really knows how distant the relation may be exactly. No one !! That's who !!!
Second; He's the fucking clan heir!! What the fuck!! This bit would have the most impact after all the messy time travel reveals when things have settled down a bit, so it'll sit in the back pocket for a bit. Save it for some fun shaking up later down the line so we don't run out of all the fun reveals too fast and bore the readers, yk?
When it is brought up tho it'd be fun to maybe have some fucky Itachi and Madara mutual understandings of the way things work.
• So. Madara is like a bit of a scary bed time story to Uchiha children, right? Like. "Ooo make sure you don't get too obsessive or fall too deep into your grief and always stay loyal to the village or you'll end up just like Madara!!"
Something something Uchiha-Village relationships are tense as hell, something something Madara fucking over a lot of the clan with his whole. Everything., Something something scapegoat and old stories, something something 'people have probably been talking a lot more about how "god dammit this all started with Madara" in recent years.'
Now with that in mind let's take a look of what our time travelers think of Madara:
Itachi is a good Konoha soldier. Itachi (as has been very much fucking proven) would rather beat a possible problem before it even exists with a hammer till it dies an ugly bloody death than even RISK it blossoming into a proper problem. Itachi does not like Madara. Itachi personally, quietly thinks they should maybe wait till the village is formed then carefully arrange a little accident for him before he goes off the rails. He, even more quietly, maybe even thinks it would be a kindness. Allow him to be remembered well by the village instead of scorned.
Shisui I think is cautiously optimistic about him. He's the kind of guy who gives the benefit of the doubt, who weighs the options, risk and reward, but includes things like hope and compassion in his calculations. Yes, Madara was a uhh. Thing. That happened. But in every story his big blow up always come from one specific event; Izuna's death. So if they stop that from happening, wouldn't it secure both a better future for them and Madara? The history books never went into detail about Izuna, he doesn't know what he's like, but maybe his involvement in the future, on Konoha's side, could lead to even more profits for them long term. At the end of the day he's not against killing Madara (though to be clear, they are at first operating on trying to avoid all interactions with historical events and return home without touching things) but it'd be nice, to manage to get a happy ending for everyone. Unrealistic maybe, but nice.
Mmmm hear me out actually, maybe Shisui, after interacting with him a bit, finds that Madara reminds him of Itachi too. They definatley both have that "I would do unspeakable things to even dream of my loved just one more time" energy, if you know what I mean
Anyways; Kakashi and Tenzo are both neutral on Madara. Yes, they learned about how he betrayed the village when young just like everyone else, but they weren't getting the bed time stories and "do this and you'll end up just like him" warnings like the Uchiha's. They're possibly leaning into negative but are detached from the situation enough to just go "well he hasn't done it yet and his brother is still alive so he won't any time soon" and be done with it
• Now, on the the total opposite side of the spectrum you have Hashirama and Tobirama. People are brought up in Konoha to fucking IDOLIZE these guys. You can not tell me our team of time travelers wouldn't be at least a little awed to speak with them.
I think Tenzo would be the most wide eyed about Hashirama, both for the baseline "holy shit that's the Shodai Hokage" and also that fun juicy mokuton user imposter syndrome he has going on for him. That guys DNA is inside his body!!! Holy shit wait does that mean if someone did a blood relation test with them he might read as being related to him?? Fuck were gonna pocket that for now but like. Mmmmm potential.
I'd say Itachi is the most hesitant about Tobirama but again, village loyalist, so.
You know what tho maybe Shisui is the most hesitant about him (though still largely positive) he both def grew up looking up to him but can also see the anti-Uchiha policies people inact now with the implications that Tobirama would have approved of it. He doesn't know if he would, but like, he has to wonder.
Kakashi is probably the most normal about them (and also has experience in being close to a hokage (Minato) to know that at the end of the day they are painfully human) Don't get me wrong, he's still in some sort of awe! He might get a little lightheaded at the thought of seeing the God of Shinobi in proper battle, or the possibility to see the famed genius of Tobirama with all the different jutsu's he's invented. You can't tell me Kakashi didn't spend a little extra time reading about him when he was trying to make Chidori. Honestly I'm gonna roll with that and say he had a bit of a phase as a kid where he was a total fan boy. Maybe sprinkle in the good old HalfHatake!Tobirama hc to add some faint daydreams a lonley babykashi had after his father's death, about getting to meet him as family. Like cmon, little genius idolizing and projecting on some big history figure only to find out they're actually related? Can you say potential?
Anyways he did eventually grow out of the phase, probably got unattached to it all and lost interest after the whole "losing everything he loved" bit of his life. And at the end of the day, he doesn't have any real complex personal hang ups on the founders like the others do. Thus, most normal.
• And then my favorite most special boy, Izuna !! He's for sure the one they're all most neutral about. He's not actually taught about in the academy? There's probably some throw away line about him in some history books somewhere, but he died young and was quickly buried by the looming shadow of Konoha. The only real knowledge had about him in modern times is just a vague "Yeah he got killed by Tobirama which lead to peace being made but also lead to Madara losing his shit"
Poor Izuna he's the linchpin for it all but was left an unremarkable footnote of history. My boy deserves so much better
Tenzo doesn't actually even know who he is, that boy got bare minimum education under Danzo and Izuna was NOT included.
Itachi and Shisui mmmaybe have some small little fun fact here or there buried in stories from the older members of the clans but like. It's gonna amount to just "yeah he had a great katon" and thats about it.
I WILL SAY HOWEVER. Itachi sees him and instantly is that one PTSD dog meme. Sasuke is a BABY but holy shit Izuna looks exactly like he'd expect him to grow up as and it's making him FEEL THINGS. Also he's so bratty little brother coded !! He's an entire 7 years older than Itachi but Ifachi keeps fucking up and trying to big brother him it's embaressing.
And ofc Itachi didn't go into the first meeting thinking he'd see some weird older mirror version of his beloved baby brother who he misses and worries about very very much. So like. There's for sure going to be some conflict there. If their first meeting is a scuffle (which it probably will be) I think Itachi would keep hesitating to attack. On full run away mode. Which is probably for the best bc he shouldn't try to fight Izuna anyways honey he's like double your bodyweight and you're strong but you aren't THAT strong.
• Pointing back at both the 'Itachi does not like Madara and has quiet thoughts about how it'd possibly be in everyone's interest to just kill him' and the 'Itachi and Madara quietly bond over being clain head/heir during stressful times (w pressure from the elders especially)
I can see 2 outcomes of a potential bonding conversation with them:
1) They come to understand eachother better.
Madara wants to be on good terms, he looks at this kid and sees one of his brothers eyes and the others quiet determination. He can tell Itachi doesn't like him for some reason, and it's frustrating because he doesn't know why. He wants him to like him. He wants to be able to offer his hand and have it taken. It hurts, to be looked at with such suspicion from a face that has traces of Izuna's.
Meanwhile Itachi . . . Itachi looks at Madara and he sees someone who gets it. Gets it like no one ever has. It scares him. He looks up at this man, this horror story he's been told to fear becoming, and he sees himself. And this realization shakes him. It makes him think, makes him wonder. He's so, so sure of his loyalty to Konoha. More sure than he is of anything else in the world. But . . . But if something happened to Sasuke, if he had to choose—
And maybe it softens something in him too, along with the (honestly healthy) dose of fear. It forms a little crack in his shell, just enough to maybe, maybe let Madara through. Just a hair.
Or 2) we pull one of those "The conversation ends with them agreeing verbally but mentally they're on 2 VERY different notes."
Madara, nodding and looking at Itachi meaningfully: "Yeah it can be hard, but all we can really do is try to make the world a safer place for the ones we love. (To create Konoha, to keep my clan safe. Izuna safe. And now to keep you safe too.)
Itachi, nodding slowly: "Yeah. No matter how hard it is (even though I think I understand you more than anyone else Ive ever met) we have to try to make the world a safer place (by killing you in your sleep once Konoha is formed) for the ones we love (My clan. My village. Sasuke.)"
• Also pointing back at the 'Hatake warring clan era reputation,' the 'Tobirama is half Hatake' and also now pointing at Tobirama's title as the White Demon. Small thing but it'd be neat if there was some small throw away line that the nickname lowkey started in part because of the absoloutley terrifying reputation of the Hatake combined with Tobirama's own Everything(tm) like it just had some influence on how some view him. Give me Uchiha's making dog jokes ab him it'll be funny
• Ok but now the actual plot thoughts. Yeah I know I kept you waiting sorry about that.
So time travel! Probably due to a mission gone wrong. Some ruins or some ancient crumbling scroll that wasn't even supposed to do fucking time travel but was so old and corroded that it somehow managed to transform into a whole other seal by pure bad luck. Or good luck I guess, considering it could have just turned into a nuke.
Our favorite team of disasters are very very alarmed !!! What the fuck !!! Obviously they don't default to thinking time travel, but they immediatley know something is wrong. The landscape has changed, though the big landmarks are still there. The mission was complete anyways with no injuries so they just retreat to Konoha. Only oops !! It's not fucking there!!!
Queue alarm.
Shisui is the first one to suggest time travel because he's quirky like that. And there's a very easy way to confirm this theory.
(Also we're going to say that Konoha's location is a valley a few miles out from the Naka River that borders the Senju / Uchiha territories.)
This is convenient because that verification method involves checking in on where Itachi and Shisui know the old Uchiha compound should rest.
They do it in full stealth mode, the second they saw Konoha was missing Kakashi as team leader decided they'd treat the land as enemy territory. They all agreed ofc, for all they knew this WAS enemy territory now.
And, ofc, yeah!! There's the old Uchiha compound!! Being active!!! There are people there!!!
"What are the odds Fugaku-sama decided to have the clan return to their homeland for ahh, cultural enrichment?" Kakashi asked weakly.
"Time travel." Was the only reply he got from Shisui, whispered reverently as the boy vibrated with excitement on the branch.
Itachi just gave him a look, radiating a level of dissaproving disbelief that no normal 12 year old should be able to make. Kakashi would know, he was that not-normal 12 year old once.
From there they decide a no interference policy. Hands off guys!! They probably debate it tho, like, a good amount. They all have ✨️opinions✨️ except maybe Tenzo who's lowkey still in the middle of trying to learn how to be a person and is following Kakashi's lead 99% of the time. Especially since they're still in mission mode and this is like a super serious discussion and he really does know the least ab the founders overall.
They probably debate the merits of going to Uzushiogakure bc seal help but it's really far and they don't actually have like, just any leverage with them. They already decided not to fuck with the future so it isn't like they can trade secrets and warnings. At least if shit happens here they have some plausible deniability, being, yk, 2 uchiha's and a senju-passing guy with Mokuton. Kakashi's kinda fucked tho in that regard but he isn't going to be doing the party ANY favors with his clan heritage.
Which means it's time to potentially get desperate enough to interact with Tobirama !!! Which will inevitably lead to them bumping into a Uchiha patrol or something!!! I don't know honestly
• Anyways want Hashirama and Tenzo to interact. He has so many issues like holy shit. Let Hashirama give him the hug he deserves. I want him to violently adopt him. New brother acquired!!!
I said before but Tenzo is still reprogramming from ROOT. Let Hashirama impact that! Let him help! They can make flower crowns and photosynthesize together idk
Hashirama would be so happy to have another mokuton user, I think they should be able to sense eachother extra strong and like 'ping' off of eachothers chakra, it'll be fun
▪︎ I'm not thinking toooo hard about power scaling and this is fanfiction so a) don't quote me on this and b) for the love of all that is holy don't take my words as gospel
But for this fic specifically I'm ranking the founders and Team Ro, weakest to strongest (in a clean, fair fight head on w no time to prepare) :
Itachi (he's fucking 12 guys. But also he is like. FRACTIONS under Tenzo and Shisui. If he were 13 I'd let him be above or at the same level but like. He's 12. Cmon.)
Tenzo - Shisui (they're like JUST under the next 2 tho like seconds behind)
Izuna - Tobirama
Kakashi ( by the skin of his fucking teeth and the advantage that is his stupid amount of jutsu's and lack of self preservation)
Madara - Hashirama
And again that's not counting like. The specific situations, time given to prepare, potential dirty tricks they could play (I think the Konoha tricks would play a fraction dirtier than the others, who are slightly more used to big open battles vs the ANBU squad who does all sorts of shit in all sorts of places) plus like. Mental state and team ups.
Tenzo or Shisui couldn't take down Izuna or Tobirama but if they teamed up I'd allow it. Kakashi would get his ass kicked by Hashirama or Madara but he could survive a minutes longer than the others would
Itachi is doing his best
But like
He's 12 guys
I love him and he is terrifyingly competent but he won't win 1 on 1 with anyone unless he has some sort of advantage. Minus Shisui and Tenzo who he does have the advantage of regularly fighting, so.
• I think they do get to go back home in the end. It takes a ton of work tho and they probably do need to get Mito's help with it, Kakashi can show them the seal they got brought here with but it's an ACTUAL one in a trillion miracle it didn't fucking atomize them. So it needs a lot of touch ups
Anyways !!!
I have a little more rattling around in my brain but I'm really tired and also starting to think about other things now so I'm gonna stop here. Might come back and add to it later so stay tuned if you're into that
Full disclaimer I'm not gonna write this. I don't have the proper energy and it'd probably end up being too ambitious of a project if I tried. I'd love to see it happen tho, so like !! Big open invitation to absoloutley anyone who might want to take even a fraction of the ideas I've listed.
@ me if you do tho I wanna see the final product

Explaining What I Shouldn't have to...
My Aynalsis
People act like this explanation came out of nowhere when it was literally right in our faces.
Since there only so many panels I can add i might even do a mini part 2
Yes Naruto reasoning for his crush on Sakura was because his rivalry with Sasuke.
Let's started from the beginning where the author set of the dyanmic between team 7.
This is how
Had it from the very beginning
Tumblr media
"Sakura a cute girl i like alot" like this is it. So basically from the start from what we know she's cute. That's it
Tumblr media
then introduce sasuke already we seen they already know each other.
Tumblr media
People tend to "call cap" like there isn't a whole ass chapter explaining the ONLY reason why he even liked her in the first place. Chapter 3
Tumblr media
" All I want is for you to acknowledge me." Naruto really took this up as a competion to go out of his way to make Sakura dislike Sasuke.
He did in certain ways at time saw sakura a trophy in a competion.
How did people take this seriously. A immature boy who grew up without parental guidance.
Chunnin Exams
Chapter 37
For somebody who as a crush on Sakura he much more worried about Sasuke having the attention then rather Lee who's blowing kissing & asking her out on a date.
"Always Sasuke"
Tumblr media
Forest of Death
Chapter 57
Don't even get me started on the forest of death that the real kicker for me.
in the dream sequence we finally get to see how Naruto wants to one up Sasuke & Sakura as the trophy
Tumblr media
And when Naruto wakes up not asking about her injuries but... about her hair.
Tumblr media
Chapter 74
Ya' know this could been a true moment between the two, but Naruto doesn't really care. Always turns to be comedic relief nothing to take seriously.
(This is how sum up there 'moments" could have been romantic but ends up as a joke because the author never takes them seriously.)
Tumblr media
Naruto vs Gaara
Chapter 129
'What are we suppose to do?"... Now, thats not something you say when the girl you like is in danger of dying.
It took Sasuke throughout this chapter to remind him to do something.
Tumblr media
In contrast with other characters there's no questioning what to do. Naruto does two things; will get super mad and go berserk if you mess with Sasuke or Hinata regardless of what point you read in the story
Tumblr media
After the Tsunade arc
chapter 172
Tumblr media
Now, people say he was sad because how Sakura ran up to. No form this panel Naruto sees that Sasuke was at peace that why we get that "sasuke..you..." he's been through then decides to leave.
Tumblr media
If naruto was all that upset about it we would have gotten a flashback to the scene. But then here we are again with Naruto & Iruka eating more concered if Sasuke will become a chunin chapter 172
Tumblr media
Then went back to see sasuke smiling as if nothing happened
Even after this to prove my statement he still wants to check on Sasuke & his wellbeing chapter 173
Tumblr media
The promise
chapter 183
Seen people say Naruto was truly heartbroken during this. Which is not true Naruto always knew Sakura has feelings for Sasuke. If it was that they would have had a flashback to the hospital scene. In truth Naruto understands her too and is hurt because he cares about Sasuke leaving too.
Tumblr media
After Pein Arc
In this scene it just shows us how they just incompatible they are. Never being able to console each other ( other then when it comes to sasuke) when it comes down to it. Naruto needs cheering up to & I understand Sakura needs it as well because Tsuande is her teacher.
Naruto never paied attention when Sakura has been feeling down unless it possibly about Sasuke.
Tumblr media
If it isn't Team 7 mission related or Sasuke what do they honestly talk about? I've never see them bond about anything else. When it comes down to it there friendship has always been rocky.
The kage summit arc
The Promise
Chapter 457
What we've all been waiting for
Here we have it brought up again the conversation between Naruto & Sai
Tumblr media
Couldn't keep his promises... Not only did he not answer the question we have the next time when it's brought up again.
Chapter 470
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Doesn't matter about the promise." I want to save Sasuke for my own sake."
Naruto telling her it doesn't matter if there a promise between them and if he never made he still chase after Sasuke....
Then what the hell is it then? This just tells us that his "feelings" for Sakura are shallow as hell and fading.
After this it's never brought up again. Normally if the girl you love did a fake confession like this be heartbroken & could never see them again.
But, Naruto acted as if this nothing ever happen. It's never brought up again.
If he really wanted Sakura wouldn't he have ask his mother advice/tips on this?
Looking back
Chapter 693
you have Sakura confess again right in front of Naruto & he isn't even fazed nor cares by it.
Tumblr media
Chapter 691
At the end Naruto still doesn't even mention her to his father at the end.
Tumblr media
At the end of it Naruto still doesn't know a damn thing about romance or girls. Why would he? Honestly an orphan at birth will be ignorant to certain situations. Just look at how long it took for Naruto to understand Sasuke.
but the question is when did Naruto start to grow up & mature?
I'd say it the time Jiraya died that when he truly grew up & matured.
May revise when I feel like it.

All roads lead to you. —BoruSara.
Hello, it's been years since i wrote anything borusara related but i've been in the mood lately and wanted to get this out of my system. Enjoy my small drabble and i may write more in the future. ♥️
Boruto and Sarada had a silent agreement.
No cheesy love confesions, no big romantic scenes were needed between them, their bond slowly developed through the years from childhood friends to rivals to teammates, they basically trusted each other with their lives. Just one look was enough to understand what the other was saying or feeling, that's how close they were.
Hence why they never needed all the fireworks and flying to the moon to know their hearts were one. Besides, they were fighting literal gods and avoiding death and destruction since they were 13, the day didn't have enough hours to spare sometime and go on a date like any other people in love do, so they realized about the depth of their feelings at a very slow pace.
They've been together since babies, both very used to each presence as they were used to see the sun in the sky everyday.
People may wonder when everything changed, that's an easy answer, Boruto could say, after the Momoshiki invasion, when he realized his life goal was to support Sarada as a Hokage and protect her. Of course, he wanted to be like Sasuke, a free spirit roaming around but always helping the village on his own way, however, that would be meaningless if the person in charge wasn't Sarada.
He has witnessed her determination to achieve her goals, all her efforts and late night training sessions just because she felt she didn't give her 100% that day. She has helped him too, as a shoulder to lean on, someone to put him back on track if he got distracted.
He knew Sarada wanted him to be the best version of himself and that's why she called him out whenever he acted reckless, and although they often fought because of that, he knew it was coming from worry.
He had plenty of time to think about what Sarada meant to him the years they were separated, when Boruto left to train and control the new powers he had, but honestly, there wasn't much thinking needed when she was always his priority, heck, 13 year old Boruto knew he wanted to be with her as her support but it took him to be apart and miss her to understand he just didn't want to be a right hand man because she was her teammate and closest friend.
When he thought about his future all he could see was seeing Sarada everyday and bringing her lunch to the Hokage office because he would be damned if he allowed her to develop the same unhealthy habits of his old man, no sir, he was ready to prepare lunch for her everyday and make sure she rested well and was happy. You see, it is not normal to have these thoughts for your just friend, even if he was Mr. Oblivious he wasn't stupid.
Love is not an easy topic and he thought he should be more scared and worried about falling for her best friend, but that wasn't the case.
Falling in love with Sarada felt right, natural, as if it was always meant to be and he wouldn't want to fall for anyone else. A small voice in his head asked the important question "what if she doesn't love me back?", Boruto decided to brush it off and just wait to meet her again.
All those worries went away the moment he laid his eyes on her at the village gates. She waited for him all those years holding in her hand the small bolt necklace he gave her as a promise to see each other again, and the look she gave him was what gave her away. Midnight eyes full of sparkling stars and longing, but the only thing she said was "Welcome home".
He nodded and closed the distance between them with a warm hug whispering on her ear "I'm home now". It was crystal clear, the beating of their hearts matched as much as their souls.
Boruto's POV is so fun to write, lots of Sarada in that blondish head. Should i write my vision of Sarada's pov next? We'll see.

Ahhh i should've been clearer, I meant to say, are they abusing the girl in any other way in recent chapters? Neglect is definitely abuse, you are correct, and I'm sorry if I came off that way hhhhhh i just don't word things good.
I wanna add that apparently (grains of salt here but that was a complaint from a friend of mine so my info is probably not correct) , Sakura left Sarada home alone a LOT growing up from the young age because of her hospital work, which is understandable with single working moms, but the way Sakura handled being absent from her daughter's life is a little... Idk, because I grew up with a single working mom myself and she always tried her hardest to spend time with me and made sure I'm safe and with adults she trusted. Sakura just kinda??? Handwaved Sarada's needs to be with her mom and just left her alone by herself at very young age?? This is a big ymmv and again I'm probably without context, but it did feel icky the way the writing handled that part. Not much mentions on the grandparents.
And let's be honest, Sakura is a horrible role model with how entitled and creepy she can get (that one scene with Ino...that one told me she's still immature over Sasuke...).
Sasuke is too damn obvious though, which is unfortunate because I felt like he'd be half decent of a father if he were to be with someone else who understood and respected his personal boundary and to help him heal. Sakura is none of the above. Because Sarada is Sakura's daughter, he wanted nothing to do with both of them, which is pretty cruel and abusive, as you've said.
Regardless, def so far from being the parents of the year.
Oh no you sounded fine. And no there aren’t any signs of “abuse” as of recent but they’ve been barely in the story aside from post time skip Sarada.
You know I still think this can all be explained if Kishimoto had the balls to make Sarada Sasuke and Karin’s clone secretly made by Orochimaru with DNA taken from both of them from their times with him. It would explain why Sakura was so sensitive about Saradas questioning and Sasuke’s unwillingness to be a father because it was basically forced on him unexpectedly. I think this would humanize Sasuke and make him more of Naruto’s opposite as Naruto went about it the right way (falling in love, married, being ready for kids) and Sasuke not having that natural maturity(because of being with Orochimaru) that was required to be a father.
I think I vaguely remember Sarada being left at home and even cooking her own meals. Honestly this just makes Sakura even more pathetic because she wanted to be a “girl boss”.
TBH it would be poetic if Sakura did sacrifice herself for Sarada after her finding out they’re not blood related because it would be the single most selfless thing Sakura would’ve done in this entire series

Revising Idle Hands... again
Final time, I swear!!!
I wasn't going to make a post about this until I actually got it all done. I was also going to write a full rewrite on the side to see which one I liked better because the structure was going to change to where the genre felt more in line with typical erotica or whatever.
But a bunch of stuff happened and I've lost the vision of how I was going to do that. XD Even though I have notes for it, they ain't really doing anything for me.
Maybe it'll come to me after I do the revisions, but either way, yes I finally have the story completely figured out now. 😅 (or the backstory, rather, which is still important. The plot is pretty simple otherwise, it's just the motivations and such weren't fleshed out and was making writing harder and harder. Basically, it just felt like I couldn't make them do what the script says they're going to do).
Currently, Naruto and Hinata don't have significant history together and I didn't realize that's what was making the story's progression fall apart in my head. Anyways, now they do and I have to go through what I already have on Ao3 to accommodate that detail. I probably don't have to do much, but I might also write in new scenes if they fit.
The other thing is Sasuke. I actually felt like he was too chatty towards the end of Ch 5 and that bothers me, on top of that chattiness being purely convenient exposition, like, it just feels lazy of me, so that's getting axed to some degree. There's also some flaws in the paint thinner scene as well. But more importantly... I am changing Sasuke to a new kid in town. I'm thinking he moved in while Naruto was out of town, so when Naruto came back, 'the sticks' suddenly became very interesting and that's why they're 'friends'. This will also open him up to be fascinated with the beef between Naruto and Hinata since he wasn't there for any of that.
Other revisions will be worldbuilding related for my own satisfaction. They'll affect Naruto's characterization to a degree. I also think that this probation shouldn't affect his ability to do what he wants as much as it's currently portrayed, so I'm going to see what I can do about that.
I started "IWGP: Ikebukuro West Gate Park" on Netflix a few days ago and it gave me ideas. I should actually try to binge it though so that way I don't have regret when the other episodes inspire me and I'm all like 'Oh no, I could have put that there'. 😅😅😅 But I'm so impatient, I want to write already!!!!!!1!111! 😤😤😤
Anyways, in the future I am going to try to write my stuff all in one sitting so this doesn't keep happening to me again. 😓 Like my Shibari AU when I get around to it, and Dissolve Me. I gotta rough draft the hell out of those for sure, and probably multiple times. 😤 I honestly kind of want to combine the current chapters of Dissolve Me into the first chapter as well, but I dunno, that kind of feels like a vanity thing eheh.
Anyhoo, I'm pretty excited about this project again, yay! 🥰🤪🥳

In all honesty, although NH is my main ship, if NH wasn't the end game couple I'd rather have Naruto be with Sasuke rather than having NaruSaku happen. There was more depth in terms of how their relationship worked (may it be something brotherly/friendly or even more) whereas NaruSaku I'd feel that it's pretty onesided and she could easily manipulate Naruto (Naruto may have been shown to have a crush/liked Sakura but a lot of their interactions were like for comedic relief? And that when he asked her on dates or claim that she's his gf, it eventually felt like it was a running joke/not something to be taken seriously). NaruSaku for me would only be as friends/siblings and nothing more.
When it comes to seeing Naruto as someone treated/respected as an equal/a partner, for me it boils down to having him end up with either Hinata or Sasuke (or could be both, I honestly support a throuple ship for NaruHinaSasu)
There was also potential that Sasuke and Hinata could have a good relationship with each other, Sasuke could've appreciated Hinata's quiet nature as he's similar in a sense, and there were other things he could relate to her (in terms of their clans/doujutsu/relationship with their siblings). He'd also most likely appreciate her during their time in the academy as the only one who didn't "fangirl" around him.
I recall a couple of months back that someone brought back the argument that Sasuke cared more about Hinata over Sakura during that scene in the Momoshiki invasion arc to have him personally reassure her about Naruto (there was also a speculation that when Hinata went back to try to help Naruto, it could've been Sasuke who saved her - although we couldn't confirm this as they didn't show Hinata's fight - which still makes me bitter to this day)
It would've made a lot of sense if Team 7 had been Naruto, Hinata, and Sasuke (I've read several fics with these 3 in the same team) as I could see the potential that these 3 could have supported each other equally (compared to how Sakura was in the past that she was solely focused on Sasuke and didn't care all that much about Naruto). The 3 of them carrying their own burdens could also make them more understanding of each other's circumstances. Like they could relate and help each other in a sense. And to think that by the end of Naruto it was shown that NHS had been linked to powerful Otsutsukis, they could've made a powerhouse trio if it was explored more. Hinata could even have easily taken over Sakura's role as a medic nin (and she actually could have been a more suitable candidate because of her Byakugan) if only it had been developed more in the story.
Your asks are way too long.
Neh I only see Naruto and Sasuke as friends and brothers I can never see them in a romantic light. How some fans react to ship any same sex friendship like crazy even when they are just meant to be friends really put me off same sex shipping. I would rather each of them be alone rather then either get with Sakura but still good friends enjoying the bachelor life. Though I do feel kind of sad that Naruto wouldn't get a family with Hinata since it was end game like you said I feel that Hinata was always meant to give Naruto the family he never had and hence would never be alone again when he grow up.
Your right most of Sakura and Naruto's interactions is for comic relief and most of the anime scene only cause a script writer was heavily bias towards NaruSaku. In the manga Naruto shows little interest in Sakura his crush only coming up when it involves Sasuke either when he is competing with him or when Sasuke turned her down. His crush was never serious and mostly cause of his rivalry with Sasuke.
I do believe Sasuke could get along really well if Hinata, but the way the manga is set up it just isn't possible. When Sasuke was in the village he just didn't interact with Hinata at all nor would he. The only way they could get close is if Hinata got with Naruto earlier and hence she would interact with Sasuke. Even after he returned the village Sasuke has never interacted with Hinata much cause he is usually travelling even though she is married to Naruto who he is close with.
I recall a couple of months back that someone brought back the argument that Sasuke cared more about Hinata over Sakura during that scene in the Momoshiki invasion arc to have him personally reassure her about Naruto (there was also a speculation that when Hinata went back to try to help Naruto, it could've been Sasuke who saved her - although we couldn't confirm this as they didn't show Hinata's fight - which still makes me bitter to this day)
Yeah it was one of the issues I have with SasuSaku as Sasuke gives Naruto's family more attention then his own. I don't think Sasuke saved her I feel it was more that Hinata fought them while Sasuke protected the kids and go injured then Momoshiki fled since he had Naruto.
Yeah team 7 works better with Hinata in the picture as the overall dynamics would just be better original team 7 was a train wreak with only Naruto and Sasuke's rivalry really holding it together. As a team they never really hung out cause Sakura was a fangirl while Naruto and Sasuke were at odds. Hinata would have bridged that gap Sasuke wouldn't turn down a kind character like Hinata easily and if he was too harsh Naruto would defend her and would likely feel guilt and give in so the team would end up hanging out more. The Otsutsukis plot would have worked so much better with Hinata since all of team 7 would be related to them, even Kakashi during the final fight has part of their power thanks to Obito giving him the sharingan and his chakra having six paths powers from when he had the ten tails.

i’m gonna be honest with y’all. the original intention i had of banking the reviews i made all year was to be all grinch like and declare how much i hate christmas each day. but since the occupation decided to bomb fucking bethlehem on the first day of christmas that feels too poor of taste a thing to do. but i’m not waiting for next year to do this because i don’t want the obligation to be on tumblr for a whole ‘nother year hanging over my head. so y’all will have to make do with my dumb reviews without me bitching and moaning throughout the 12 days of christmas about how much i hate christmas and consumerism and christianity in general and christmas music and christmas cookies and that one gif that always goes around tumblr of a kitten whose tail has been turned into a christmas tree. and on that note:
and on the fourth day of reviewmas I, Fausto, give to thee:
4 scantily clad teenaged girls (fbi open up! meme)
the 3rd time i read the same book about lawns maybe?
2 high school animes
and a ninja book
…from a guy who still thinks about the naruto series in the year 2023
Today’s feature is none other than 1993’s Dragon Half, a two episode OVA that is as skanky as it is hilarious. It’s sad that it’s only 2 episodes long since it’s funny as hell but it makes up for it by being so jammed packed full of jokes that you have to pause it to laugh so you don’t miss the next gag. It’s also so jammed packed with jokes that’s it’s honestly exhausting, so it still feels like binging a 26 episode series by the end of it.
The main conflict in the show is that main character Mink, the half dragon half human for whom the title refers to, is obsessed with Dick Saucer, a teenaged heartthrob/singer/celebrity/dragon slayer. Now you’d think that she could have reasonably picked any other teenaged celebrity to obsess over, except all her friends are also obsessed with Dick Saucer so clearly he is just that cool and her dad (the human parent) is a retired dragon slayer, so the whole dragon slayer wanting to kill dragons thing isn’t that much of an issue. For her anyway.
The first episode is mainly exposition for who all the characters are and how they relate to each other, but it also kind feels like watching a forbidden episode of the Kirby anime where Kirby, the King’s assistant snail thing, and metaknight have all been transformed into teenagers with metaknight being the only boy. it’s a bunch of wacky characters doing wacky things in a dungeons and dragons medieval fantasy backdrop.
the second episode is like the dark tournament arc from yu yu hakusho but jokes.
mink shows an impressive amount of skin, as does her best friend (can’t remember her name. the blonde one.) (and the villain teen girl) (and the villain teen girl’s dead mom in a flashback) but the younger girl character does not! it’s honestly sad that this is so noteworthy but the loli character is covered head to toe and the one instance of another character being a bit of a skeeze toward her is met with an angry bear. the series even draws attention to it during the swimming scene. the little girl does not wear a swim suit. so mink might have madonna style boob cones that bounce all over the place but the elementary school girl is a line too far for the creators of this show and i respect that. that’s a line that anime crosses way too often i mean even fucking naruto cannonically shows sakura thinking about sasuke’s penis when the two of them are 12. plus konohamaru doing the sexy no jutsu when he’s like 8. naruto sexualizes pre teen children more than the skanky OVA one where three teenaged girls run around in their 1980s jazzercise leotards that let the whole leg hang out in a way that it might as well be panties. like holy hell japan. anyway. mink does flash the audience in the finale so do yourself a favor and just don’t watch the last few minutes.
also the ending song is fun.
also! even thought there’s a lot of scantily clad teenaged girls i didn’t get the feeling that the writers wanted the audience to be fapping to them. maybe it’s just a sign of the times thing and it was sexy back then, but the show changes art style from sexy teenaged girl to SD rolling on the ground so much that if the characters were supposed to be fap material then the delivery was a complete bust.

Helloooo, I actually don't have much following you but you're views of nsn give me life 💞
This is actually the first time I come to your ask box (probably won't be the last lol) anyways. I was scrolling through Instagram and a reel popped up, it was the scene where Madara and Obito extend Naruto a hand for them to join them and then Hinata slaps Naruto, and the reel said "if it weren't for Hinata, Naruto would be joining Obito" which is crazy to me bc first Naruto would never, doesn't go with his character and all that he's been through at that point, and second, I don't think Hinata actually has any sort of influence on Naruto, much less stopping him from becoming a villain, but I actually like to hear your view on this 👀
Hope your doing good ✨
hi! hope u r doing well too, and thanks for the nice message!
now onto the ask... i went and re-read the chapter and u r absolutely right. the people that say the above are trying to overplay hinata’s importance to naruto. can you blame them? The manga gives their ship nothing but scraps so they’ll latch onto every scene and try to blow it out of proportion. in the actual manga there is no basis for those statements. firstly, there was never a point in the whole chapter that suggested naruto was ready to 'cave in’ and join obito. nothing at all. and secondly, it wasn’t just hinata’s words that made naruto snap out of it.
naruto was shocked and upset cuz neji just died in front of him, along with other comrades. and obito cut naruto where it hurt deepest - he referenced naruto's own personal nightmare, loneliness. so naruto's obviously upset and hangs his head down. then obito extends his hand out... but naruto never says anything/does anything that implies that he was gonna join them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
again, right after obito says that and asks naruto to join him, naruto gives no indication of wanting to go over to his side. none whatsoever... we don’t even see his face. but what does hinata do? she slaps him. i understand why she did it, to get naruto to snap out of his sadness. but the way Kishimoto portrayed this here is very important, because of a scene later on in the arc that I'll talk about later.
Tumblr media
anyways, there's no way hinata could influence naruto on that scale. she couldn't even influence him to cheat on a test LOL. during the chuunin exams, in the war arc - whenever naruto did something because of hinata it was in relation to neji. naruto made the decision to not become a villain himself. at the beginning of the story with mizuki and iruka; to gaara, naruto said he could've evened up just like him; to sasuke he said they're roles could've been reversed. naruto was aware he could’ve become a villain, but he made the decision himself to not be a villain from the very first chapter, on his own, and a slap from hyuuga girl is not gonna change that. especially considering naruto's speech afterwards - he talks about comrades - not hinata singularly. he views her as a comrade. and it’s not just hinata’s words that cause him to pull himself together - it’s everyone else’s too. he thinks about neji. his other friends. he also has a conversation with Kurama, because Hinata’s words were not enough by themselves. Then naruto gets up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we get this famous nh scene, which I'm going to mention here because it’s imp for later on. anw, I've always felt this moment was... weird, and that’s not cuz I don’t ship nh but because the whole scene is just awkward. first, naruto talks about comrades. he thinks of everyone. he has a full on conversation with Kurama. in the same panel below he thinks of comrades, but out loud he says ‘it’s all thanks to you standing by my side.’ there is such a dissonance between what he was thinking the few panels prior, and what he says then. I honestly feel Kishimoto was almost forced to write a nh scene. look at how awkward naruto looks... he’s looking at hinata yet he’s facing away from her. fr stand up and copy naruto’s position and expression, it’s just so awkward. Kishimoto’s use of body language and angles have always been purposeful and natural. Hinata herself is turned towards Naruto yet Naruto can’t face her... yet he’s looking at her with his eyes, and gripping at her hand awkwardly. in the whole story I can’t recall a panel where naruto’s body language was so awkward.
Tumblr media
moving on, we all know why obito was so intent on knocking naruto down throughout the war, besides naruto being the mc and person everyone looks up to. madara commented on it, kakashi ended up saying it: obito wanted to push naruto to despair to see if ultimately he'd arrive and take the same actions as obito. but there was another scene, directly paralleling the nh scene, with naruto knocked down, absolutely distraught. he’s crying, furious, seeing people around him dying left and right, people on the verge of giving up. it’s actually a more dire situation here, considering the timepoint of this scene and everything that had led up to that point.
Tumblr media
then sasuke comes, swings his sword once, and says 'giving up, naruto? I'm not.’ and that's enough to make naruto wipe his tears and pull himself together. sasuke didn’t need to slap naruto to pull him out of it. instead, he lead by example. in the nh chapter, naruto said to hinata ‘it was all thanks to you standing by my side.’ but when was hinata ever by his side? it's sasuke who is by naruto’s side fighting. lifting him up, being his driving light, pushing him forward, which is something Kakashi himself said during naruto’s shippuden training arc, I’m just quoting him here.
Tumblr media
Sasuke, standing up and fighting by his side, says just a short question and statement (not a full blown speech like hinata), and then naruto pulls himself together. Naruto doesn’t hesitate. He thinks of the people before him and his regrets; doesn’t need to have another conversation with Kurama to hype him up. Sasuke’s words are enough. Over and over, the only person that’s managed to have such an influence on naruto is sasuke. So naruto gets up and fights with Sasuke by his side. Also interesting how Kishimoto gives Hinata a panel here - again all she can do is say his name, not stand by his side, and surely not influence him to not become a villain.

Hey captn! I love your blog and all the naruto manga discussions so much!!! I just wanted to ask how long does it take for you to make them? Since most of them are long and detailed i bet it takes quite a while
Also, do you just remember panels and chapters or do you have some sort of method on finding specific panels?
Much love 🧡💙🧡💙🧡
Thanks @bibobitchh 😊😊
I just wanted to ask how long does it take for you to make them? Since most of them are long and detailed i bet it takes quite a while
It takes anywhere between 30 minutes to 4 hours or sometimes even more. It totally depends on my ability to formulate a convincing Answer for myself and for the Anon.
Sometimes I knew the answer the moment I read the ask... Those asks take 30 minutes irrespective of the length.
Sometimes I have multiple ways to write a single answer, but I spend time to figure out as to which way I can answer so that my opinions reach out in a better way. Should I go for a comparative way??? Or an aggressive way??? Or sarcastic way??? Or analytic way???... These kind of asks take 2 hours easily.
Sometimes I know the answer in a single word. But I struggle to find the right points and words to convey in a convincing way. In those cases, I spend more time to research. For example, In this ask, the Anon gives a statement and asking me to justify it.
Shikamaru's revenge was encouraged whereas Sasuke's revenge was discouraged. Konoha/Kakashi was unfair.
Honestly, when I received this ask, all I know was SASUKE'S REVENGE SHOULD BE DISCOURAGED NO MATTER WHAT. But dammmnnnn, I don't know how to convincingly bring forth my point. The only point I had was Shikamaru was calm and composed while avenging Asuma whereas Sasuke was obsessed.
But This point alone is so shallow and it invites cringy pain olympics from rabid Sasuke stans like, "Shikamaru lost just his sensei... Whereas Sasuke lost his entire clan so it's very reasonable for Sasuke to be obsessed about it".
Thankfully, one of my mutual gave me a right push by showing this panel
Tumblr media
(A panel which shows how Kakashi was once supportive of Sasuke's revenge until he didn’t)
and then slowly everything started to fall into place...
So, Asks like this probably took 7+ hours. Not in a single day but collectively speaking.
And then comes the Controversial Asks... AKA Uchiha Clan related ones and Sasuke exclusive asks... Phewww!!! The thing is, I know the answer right away including the Panels I have to attach for making my point... But I put a lot of effort in these ones so that it won't end up as a Mockery or Insensitive or Blunt. Fact Checking, Rough Drafting, Editing, Proof Reading takes most of the time... Like half a day (8 hrs).
So, yeah... The time to write any answer varies depends on my Point making ability.
Also, do you just remember panels and chapters or do you have some sort of method on finding specific panels?
Initially I knew nothing about ‘Which panels comes in Which chapter’. So, I started to keep a pointer randomly. Like, Chapter 500 is where the Flashback about Naruto’s birth begins. Chapter 306 is where Sasuke makes his First appearance in Part 2. Chapter 619 is where Sasuke meets all the Hokages. Chapter 218 is where VoTE1 starts.
Based on this pointer, I could predict where a particular scene falls into. For example, Bridge scene happens right before Naruto’s flashback, so it must be somewhere after Chapter 450 and before Chapter 500.
That’s how I started.
Then I eventually got familiar with all the important chapters since I was trying to hunt a perfect panel for some ask which forces me to read irrelevant chapters as well. By doing this, I accidentally get panels for other pending asks too. That’s when I realized, Most of the so-called popular opinions which bashes Kishimoto’s writing is totally baseless... Because his art has an answer for almost everything. It’s just that people were extremely obsessed with their own opinion without looking for the Answer/Panel from the source material and end up blaming the Author. And my another realization was how fake N@rusaku was throughout the Manga as opposed to how it was portrayed in the Anime.
Anyways, the more I started to write about Naruto, the more I got comfortable with locating panels. There’s no specific method behind this really.

My Ranking Of Naruto's Next Gen Characters
1. Shinki - I immediately had a soft spot for Shinki because he's Gaara's son and because I'm a sucker for adopted relationships. But since then I really do like him as his own character. The more I see of him the more interested I am. I really hope they do some kind of arc about his past and where he came from and I hope it lives up to the anticipation I have built waiting for it.
Tumblr media
2. Himawari - A totally cutie, she's just such a sweet and fun character, the exact kind of thing I like most about this series. I also enjoy the fact that she's a natural with her byakugan and she's definitely one of those who I can't wait to see what she'll be like as she grows older. I hope she'll become a strong Shinobi but without losing her sweet soft hearted side.
Tumblr media
3. Wasabi - Honestly I love any character that has some kind of cat-like affinity and Wasabi is no exception. That said, like Shinki, this may have been what drew me in at first but the more I see of her, the more I enjoy in general. Her being an original character also helps and even if she doesn't have a big story of her own, I enjoy the little ones all the same.
Tumblr media
4. Sarada - Proof not all my favourites are bias because of their parents! I do not enjoy Sasuke or Sakura's characters at all, but Sarada is really growing on me! I find her quite entertaining, as someone who works hard to become strong rather than just being a natural, and even if Hokage is a pretty cliché goal at this point, it's still nice to see a female character with a desire that has nothing to do with a cute boy in her class.
Tumblr media
5. Yodo - This ones a bit of a cheat because we really don't know that much about her. But from what we do know, I really adore her. I love her design and there are really nice little moments for her. I like that she seems to be the friendliest of the Team Shinki group, being the only one to really talk to others in a easy going way.
Tumblr media
6. Araya - Again, another slight cheat for similar reasons but I have a soft spot for Suna characters. That and I find it sweet that Araya suffers from anxiety and leans on his friends (like Shinki) in order to stay calm and focus on the fight.
Tumblr media
5. Inojin - And we're back to my usual bias because let's face it, a lot of my love for Inojin is that he's Ino's son, haha! Still, I wouldn't like a character for that reason alone and I do find Inojin to be entertaining. He has some really nice episodes and I don't believe anyone who wasn't at least a little moved by Akkun's death!
Tumblr media
8. Sumire - She started off a pretty typical background character that I had no feelings for. She was the kind that was just there. Then they gave her an interesting backstory and villain arc and she definitely grew on me. I feel like there's room to develop her more but as she is, she's still fun to watch.
Tumblr media
9. Metal - While his design is one of the most unoriginal (it's not even funny how much of an obvious clone he is of his dad), I actually really like that he has an opposite personality to him. I wouldn't mind seeing him build more as his own character but the parts we have seen have been interesting and I feel genuine sympathy for the poor kid a lot of the time.
Tumblr media
10. Shikadai - He's just behind Metal in most unoriginal design. And that wouldn't actually bother me too much but he's got too much of his fathers personality as well. While I don't hate the character, I have no interest in him either since it's clear the show is just copying Shikamaru in most ways. Maybe if the series does something big and different to surprise the audience with him then he could earn a higher place but at the moment my biggest interest in him is that he's related to Gaara and Shinki.
Tumblr media
11. Boruto - While he definitely has a lot of negative traits, I don't dislike him all that much. Even if I don't agree, I can understand why he feels and acts the way he does. Most of my dislike is an entirely personal issue. I just don't enjoy his random devotion to Sasuke (and not just because I dislike Sasuke) and I just generally do not find him to be an eye catching main character. I'd much rather watch the other characters.
12. Chocho - Again, not necessarily a bad character. I like her design and I enjoy some moments of her. But I'm also very much put off by her personality. I just don't like those kind of girls so every time Chocho get's into one of her big headed speeches, I need to skip and move on. That being said, I still like her friendship with Sarada and enjoy watching her fight at the same time.
13. Iwabee - An interesting enough character, but simply not one I'm interested in. This is a funny one because by all means there is nothing at all wrong with him, but I still just don't care for him either way. The only scenes of his I really enjoy also involve characters I'm much more interested in.
13. Namida - I've conflicting feelings about this young girl. I actually liked that episode where she took a seemingly useless and problematic power (her crying/scream) and showed she can turn it into a powerful weapon with training. It was a really good episode and I adore her relationship with Wasabi. However apart from those two particular things, nothing else about her stands out and she's not really interested me any more than that.
14. Denki - Honestly the most boring original character. He's not necessarily that bad, but he's kind of a cliché in my eyes and I just don't find anything about him interesting at all. And it's not like Iwabee who I can live with or without, but rather I skip his scenes altogether.
15. Mitsuki - I just don't like him. Not only does he act just like Sai (without even the excuse of being related to Sai) but I've never liked the character who idolizes another this much. I especially do not like it when I feel the series doesn't even give a good enough reason for them to idolize them. Maybe if they had built the friendship between Mitsuki and Boruto, I might feel different but as it is, I generally roll my eyes whenever he's on screen.

I'd love to read some Naruto analysis by you!
Tumblr media
lol I might not be the best person to ask about this, tbh. Naruto happens to be one of the series I mentioned last week where I eventually stopped reading because of things related to the timeskip. it basically got to the point where I realized I was forcing myself to keep reading it, and that everything I had originally loved about it was basically gone. it had all of the problems I mentioned about timeskips -- characters splitting up (AND characters staying together, but us missing out on their development); fights becoming boring; the series becoming way darker and killing off more than a few characters for shock value; and the clumsiest attempt at a romance plot I can recall reading in a manga. I stopped reading it sometime around chapter 400 or so, which would have been around 2009 I believe. the series ultimately went on for another 300 chapters and didn’t end until late 2014, and I have little to no idea what went down in those chapters, and no real interest in ever going back to finish it. I’m not saying it was objectively bad, because I can hardly judge what I haven’t even read. but it just stopped having any type of appeal to me.
regarding Naruto and Sasuke’s relationship, the best way I can describe it (and be warned this is gonna get kind of long lol) for someone who’s unfamiliar with Naruto but knows BnHA, is that it’s basically Bakugou and Deku’s relationship, if both of them were orphaned at a young age, and in Bakugou’s case he was specifically orphaned by his evil older brother who murdered their entire family in front of him. and so Bakugou basically grew up being all “the FUCK is up with that, I am going to KILL THAT DUDE,” and so he went to ninja school to learn how to be a badass so that he could avenge his family. and meanwhile Deku went to ninja school because he was lonely and wanted to be Ninja President when he grew up so that people would finally want to be his friend. and so they both learned to become ninjas, and then they graduated at the ripe old age of Twelve and started ninja internships under ninja!Aizawa’s tutelage along with a badass girl ninja whom ninja!Deku had a massive crush on even though she herself was not-so-secretly crushing on ninja!Bakugou.
and even though ninja!Bakugou and ninja!Deku didn’t get along at first, they started doing all of the usual Rival Things like competing with each other over who is better at running up trees sideways, and their relationship gradually got a little bit better. and then ninja!Bakugou all of a sudden saved ninja!Deku’s life OUT OF NOWHERE (like this boy really had his own “my body just moved on its own” moment all of 27 chapters into the series) and nearly died, and ninja!Deku went into rage mode because of it, and so that was awesome. and so it basically went on like this, with both of them continuing to do rival things like egging each other on to become stronger and talking about how much they want to fight each other and stuff. all that good shit.
anyways though, but where it started to go south was when ninja!Bakugou, much like actual!Bakugou, eventually caught the attention of one of the villain characters who started being all “HEY KID, JOIN ME AND I’LL HELP YOU BECOME STRONG ENOUGH TO KILL YOUR BROTHER.” and at first of course ninja!Bakugou was all “wtf, no”, which, good. BUT THEN it all really started to go to shit when ninja!Bakugou’s Evil Brother came back to town because he wanted to kidnap ninja!Deku, but ninja!Bakugou found out about it and was all “OH HELL NO” and went and found his bro to try to kill him. but seeing as ninja!Bakugou’s brother was one of the strongest characters in the series, and ninja!Bakugou was LITERALLY A CHILD, to make a long story short the Evil Brother basically kicked his ass and was all “nyah nyah nyah what’s up with that you’re still so weak” and subjected him to a little hypno torture session for good measure.
and so basically, ninja!Bakugou spiraled into a mental funk and eventually was all “I GUESS I’D BETTER GO FIND THAT VILLAIN FELLOW AFTER ALL” and RAN AWAY TO GO BECOME EVIL. and ninja!Deku found out about it and went after him and they had a HUGE DRAMATIC FIGHT, but ultimately ninja!Deku lost, and ninja!Bakugou knocked him out and spent some time staring at him sadly and longingly in the rain before shuffling off. and basically after that is when the timeskip happens, and ninja!Deku and ninja!Bakugou spend three years training and then at that point ninja!Bakugou’s character starts to go completely off the rails and he’s out here genuinely trying to kill all of his old friends for Reasons, and at that point I was basically done with him and it was a whole big “YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE, YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BRING BALANCE TO THE PLOT, NOT LEAVE IT IN DARKNESS” thing, and I eventually just quit out of annoyance lol. smdh.
anyway so yeah. and after that I don’t really know too much about what happens. they basically have a whole Star-Crossed Enemies thing going on where ninja!Deku keeps trying to turn ninja!Bakugou back to the good side, even after he literally declares war on their entire country and kills a bunch of people lmao. and it’s supposed to be inspiring I guess, because he never gives up on his friend no matter what. and I think eventually it does turn out all right, or at least bittersweet, from what I’ve gleaned.
but I’m not gonna lie, for me everything I loved about the series was in that pre-timeskip relationship that the two of them had. and honestly, BnHA is such a fix-it in so many ways that I sometimes wonder if Horikoshi (who also grew up on Naruto, millennial that he is) didn’t feel the same way about it. like, there are almost specific things about it that he goes out of his way to “fix.”
first and foremost, unlike Sasuke, Kacchan point-blank refuses to join up with the villains who try to recruit him. still one of my favorite parts of the series honestly. this one specific plot is so reminiscent of where it all started to go wrong in Naruto, and Horikoshi subverts the shit out of it. there’s all this buildup to it, and everyone is all “oh shit is Bakugou really going to turn evil??”, and then when the moment finally happens, Bakugou doesn’t consider their offer for a second. there is no doubt in his mind. he’s a hero, end of story. there’s so much conviction in him, so much determination. god I just love it so much.
Naruto and Sasuke also have their version of a Therapy Fight, pre-timeskip, in which Sasuke challenges Naruto to a fight because he needs to prove to himself that he’s not weak. Sasuke is clearly hurting during this battle (this is just after his encounter with his Evil Brother, and I mean the fight literally takes place on the rooftop of the hospital he was recuperating in), but unlike Deku, Naruto never takes any notice of this. and unlike Bakugou, Sasuke keeps his feelings all bottled up inside him, and so basically they both just get swept up in the Rivalry and wind up nearly killing each other. and again just like in BnHA, Naruto and Sasuke’s fight also gets interrupted by one of their teachers; but unlike All Might, Naruto and Sasuke’s teacher doesn’t give them any sage mentor advice or make sure that the two of them are in a good headspace afterwards. and as a result Sasuke leaves that same fucking night to go join up with the villains. basically it’s almost the exact same Shounen Rival Throwdown, but with completely opposite outcomes. it’s almost uncanny.
and last but not least, unlike Kishimoto, who gives Sasuke his “sacrificing himself to save his rival” moment barely half a year into the series and then basically never refers to it again, Horikoshi spends almost 300 chapters building up to Bakugou’s own version of that moment, so that when it finally happens, it feels earned. not to say that I don’t like the Sasuke moment in chapter 27 of Naruto, because twenty years down the line and it’s still honestly one of my favorite scenes. but I do think Horikoshi’s version of it was ultimately much more satisfying. when Sasuke saves Naruto’s life, you get the sense that he was conflicted as to why he did it. but when Bakugou makes the sacrifice play for Deku’s sake, he knows exactly why he’s doing it, because he’s spent the last 285 chapters going through all of that character development and realizing that Deku is important to him, and realizing that he wants to atone for how he treated him. and so to me that moment is all the more meaningful because of it. definitely a highlight of the series.
anyway, so I’m not sure any of that actually counts as analysis lol, but there you go. fwiw, pre-timeskip Naruto (pre-Shippuuden I should say, although the manga never really made a distinction like the anime did) was and is still one of my all time favorite series. but to my mind BnHA is an improvement on it in almost every way, and with the BakuDeku relationship in particular it’s almost wish fulfillment lol. finally I get to see this childhood-friends-turned-rivals relationship play out the way I always wished it had. that’s basically what I mean when I say it feels like therapy lol. anyways it’s good stuff.

Merlin and Naruto
I did Merlin here, so here’s Naruto! :D
[disclaimer for everyone: I have only watched up through Season 10 of Shippuden (the arc with the Five Kage Summit), and I am trying to avoid spoilers for everything after that point, so please don’t interact with this (including tags, because tumblr shows them to me automatically) unless you are avoiding ALL spoilers.  For me, this includes discussion about whether you like/dislike future seasons, comparisons of various seasons in terms of quality, etc.  Thanks, everyone! <3]
My favorite parent-child relationship: I know they’re not blood-related, but Iruka and Naruto have me crying every time I see them together.  Naruto straight-up says that when he’s with Iruka he feels like he knows what it’s like to have a father, and honestly, Iruka loves Naruto so much at this point that he would insta-adopt him if Naruto asked.  I love how Naruto always cites Iruka as the first person who cared for him even later in the show when Iruka hasn’t had as much screentime, and when I saw Iruka cry because he’s so proud of Naruto at the end of the Pain arc, it was just...too much for my little heart to handle.
My favorite sibling relationship: You know, thinking about it, almost all of the people in Naruto are only children, as far as we know!  But in terms of just that sibling vibe - Sakura and Naruto definitely give me that feel.  I know he has a crush on her, but their relationship has always felt more sibling-like to me, and I especially love how deep their bond has become by the time we get to Shippuden.  They are just so comfortable with each other now - the depth of the love and friendship they feel for each other is palpable.
My favorite family relationship (other): I adore Naruto’s relationship with Jiraiya.  That scene where Naruto falls asleep against his back almost killed me, and Jiraiya’s later line, “Your smile is my salvation” - that was too much.  It absolutely destroyed me.  The way Jiraiya kind of gave up on everything after his old life went to hell - neverending wars, Orochimaru gone, his original students dead, his student’s students dead, Minato dead - he just ran away after that, and it was meeting Naruto that kind of rekindled that spark of hope in him and helped him reconnect with his community and rediscover a sense of purpose in his life.  Naruto enabled him to finally come home, and I think that’s beautiful.
My favorite friendship between two people: There are so many friendships in Naruto that I love (one of the greatest things about this show for me has been how little focus is given to romantic relationships, at least so far; it’s very much a friendship-oriented show), but right now I’m in a bit of a Kakashi-Yamato hole.  I was super primed to not like Yamato when he first showed up, because him being there meant that my favorite character WASN’T there, and also he ended up replacing Kakashi on the one mission where the team finally found Sasuke, but the guy won me over in the end.  He is one of my favorite characters now - my heart just swells every time I see him - and I think his relationship with Kakashi is super interesting.  I’ve written before about how Kakashi’s only truly intimate friendships are with people who are dead, and I do think that applies when it comes to Yamato, too, even though the two of them are obviously very companionable and close.  There is still a level to that relationship where Kakashi is a bit of a mentor figure, the “superior officer,” which results in a degree of (still friendly and affectionate) distance.  And as with all of his other relationships, Kakashi doesn’t really confide in Yamato about his life or open up to him in the same way that he does when he talks to his dead friends - but at the same time, there is an element to their relationship that doesn’t exist in Kakashi’s other friendships, and it’s the fact that Kakashi trusts Yamato with his kids, implicitly and without reservation.  Kakashi’s entire life right now is very much enmeshed in what happens to his students, and even if he doesn’t necessarily talk about that with Yamato, Yamato is still deeply involved in that work.  Yamato VOLUNTEERED for that work.  And he continues to dedicate himself to it even when his first mission as Kakashi’s stand-in ends up going completely off the rails and turning into WAY more than he signed up for.  He keeps doing his utmost for Kakashi’s kids without it even being his original responsibility, and that is such an unusual thing, for Kakashi, who in every other circumstance is always the one stepping in to help other people, the one who always shoulders his burdens alone.  Nobody ever asks Kakashi if he needs help with these incredibly high-needs children, and neither does Yamato - but the difference is that Yamato jumps in to help regardless, and he stays no matter how complicated things get.  That’s huge, and it’s only going to become more important.  It’s just - it is difficult for Kakashi to have intimate friendships with people who don’t share his history, and this rules out almost everybody else in the world, because all the people who truly share his own history are dead.  But the degree to which Yamato has altruistically and irreversibly entwined himself into the most important parts of Kakashi’s new history - the chapters being written right now, the ones that are going to define the rest of Kakashi’s life - means that Yamato is well on his way to breaking through that wall and becoming the first exception to a universal rule. [There is a lot to be said on Kakashi’s side of this, too, like - every time Kakashi refuses to call Yamato by his code name I lose my mind just a little bit, and I have MANY thoughts about Kakashi basically dragging folks who’ve been victimized or exploited or experimented on out of ANBU and then absorbing them into his own team, where they become a part of a family-type unit that respects them and cares about them and treats them like human beings.  I mean, there’s a huge difference between the Yamato we meet in S2 vs. the Yamato we know in S10 (and the same thing goes for Sai!) - and that’s something I think about a lot.]
My favorite friendship between a group:  I love all of the team dynamics, but Team Gai is a fave XD  The absurd contrast between oh-so-serious Neji vs. Gai/Lee’s incredible goofiness (with Tenten’s exasperation in between) is comedy gold.  I screamed with laughter in S1 when Gai was trying to get Neji to put his hand in the circle and do their “shout a slogan like a sports team” thing - I’ve never seen anything funnier on this show than jonin!Neji trying to put up with Gai’s antics.
My favorite mentorship: My favorite mentorship is always Kakashi and whichever kid happens be onscreen with him at that moment, but I’ll be honest and say that Kakashi+Sasuke was the first dynamic that got me actually invested in this show (as opposed to me just watching it because it was on and not really caring what happened to any of the characters).  They are still the mentorship dynamic about which I have the most complex feelings, and that is especially true after the last season we watched.  I will probably end up making a separate post about this, because I still have not written down all of my thoughts about the end of Season 10 and I am still trapped in my feelings about this very lost child and the only adult who ever tried to help him the way he deserved to be helped, and I know I have way more to say about them than I can reasonably fit in this bullet point.  But - the short version is that I am super compelled by the way that every tragedy that’s befallen Kakashi is precisely what shapes him into the only adult who can help this particular kid, the way seemingly senseless events ended up putting Kakashi in a position where he’s the only adult who can intervene on this kid’s behalf many, many years later.  The way Sasuke’s plight (and the potential that Kakashi has to help him) suddenly grants meaning to the worst parts of Kakashi’s life - that knocks me on my butt.
My favorite rivalry: So I probably would not have said this until the episode where Kakashi comes three seconds away from being made Hokage, but I’m gonna say Gai & Kakashi, solely to express my love and appreciation for Gai in that episode.  This is the ep where Gai challenges Kakashi to a race through the entire village (as a sort of “last hurrah before we can’t do this kind of silly shit anymore” thing) and Kakashi is initially kind of reluctant to do it, because he’s stressed out about a lot of things, but he does end up agreeing to it, and then he has SO much fun, and I LOVED this so much; I can’t even tell you.  This moment takes place immediately after Kakashi returns from that horrible, awful confrontation with Sasuke, and everything preceding this scene was very hard for me to see, because everybody is just asking Kakashi to do more and more and more for them without giving him even a hot minute to be like “i almost just killed my own kid.  i almost just had to kill my own kid, who was trying to kill my other kid, who was trying to kill kid #1 first, so i wouldn’t have assume the burden of killing him myself.”  Nobody checks on him, nobody asks, and Kakashi has to just hold onto that horror and also fret over the uncertain yet chilling secrets that Madara Uchiha disclosed and also prepare to shoulder the crushing weight of an office he never asked for - AND THEN.  GAI SHOWS UP.  And even though Gai doesn’t really know what happened, he still checks Kakashi over from top to bottom to make sure he’s in one piece, and then he drags him into this stupid competition, and it makes Kakashi LAUGH.  They go running all out across the craterized scene of devastation that used to be their home, and they have FUN doing it, and Kakashi straight-up tells Gai, “This was just what I needed,” which - god.  It would be great if Kakashi had somebody he could actually talk to, sure, but there’s also a space in our lives for people who just cheer us up, no questions asked.  It’s like when you tell someone you have a problem and they ask, “Do you want to talk about it or do you want to be distracted?”  Sometimes you don’t need to talk about it.  Sometimes you just need people who will take you for a goofy footrace and make you feel like you’re running too fast for any of your troubles to ever touch you again, for a few minutes.
My favorite hatred/antipathy: The answer to this question used to be Kakashi and Itachi, and while I’m even MORE fascinated by their dynamic now than ever, it’s taken on a whole new dimension, given that I think Itachi is (secretly) thrilled to see someone like Kakashi so committed to taking him down and keeping Sasuke safe.  So, in place of that, I’ll just say that I love how much all of the Akatsuki cannot stand each other XD  Almost none of them get along, and it makes me laugh every time - I can’t believe they ever get anything done, though I guess that’s to be expected when you get that many super-criminals together in a room.  I especially love how they all think Orochimaru is so stupid...cannot get over them laughing at him and his body-snatching immortality schemes.
My favorite potential relationship between characters who never talk in canon: Okay, these are both silly answers, but - I would have KILLED to see Jiraiya interacting with Minato’s team.  Like, I’m certain they spent time together, but honestly, what I wouldn’t give to have witnessed some of it.  All I could think about during that mini-arc where Jiraiya teaches Naruto how to sync up with Gamariki was how little!Kakashi would have taken one look at the dancing frogs and decided he would be using dog!summons for the rest of his life; meanwhile Obito would have already been in the frog’s mouth begging to be launched into the air like a cannonball.  Also - my sister said the other night how it is a CRIME that we never got to see Sasuke forced to interact with Jiraiya and honestly, that is too true.

SasuHina Month 2020- Day 18
Prompr 18-Movie Stars AU
Initially I wanted to do this in the same universe as the fake dating one. It’s based on pretty much the same idea I guess. I wrote this a few years ago and I wanted to use it; hope yall don’t mind. Love ~Dia
<<Their break-up was the kind of thing that filled front pages for days, it was the talk of the internet, much like their first hook-up was, much like their first meet-up was. Despite working on the same set for a few months, their schedules never matched, they never had a scene together, they were never even in the same building, yet once the movie hit the screens, the unlikely couple picked up fans and speed like a snowball rolling down a hill.
It didn’t matter to the fans that the two raven-haired young adults were never on screen at the same time, the only thing that picked their interest was one of Sasuke’s character line which mentioned something that had an indirect reference to Hinata’s character. That was all it took for the ‘SasuHina’ fan base to blow up out of proportions.
The ‘sasuhina’ tag grew bigger each day on all social media platforms, until it received the attention of a few small magazines, then bigger ones which led to several questions asked to both celebrities about the other.
On a red-carpet interview, a reporter from ‘KonohaNow!’ Asked Hinata what was her first impression when she met the Uchiha heartthrob, after a small laugh caused by the subject of the said question, Hinata stated “No, but really, I never even met Sasuke. Once the trailer launched, I noticed a few posts about me and him, but I honestly never expected it get this big. You’d be surprised how many rumors I heard about the two of us, despite us never actually being in the same room”
The said declaration set the fans on fire, making it their top priority to get the two of them to formally meet, of course in a public way. So, a few months later, both of them stood on a chair across from each other live on ‘The Akatsuki’, while Deidara couldn’t help but grin at the two. Once the show was live it was ranked as one of the most viewed talk-shows in the past years.
After Deidara finished his usual introduction, the two of them got up and officially shook hands and introduced each other. The gesture was a bit awkward which did not escape the public eye, making them come up with reasons such as they were shy to meet, or nervous. If the fandom was big before, after their ‘meet cute’ it had tripled, making both of them rise on the popularity ladder quite a bit.
Even so, the moment that it was certain that SasuHina was real, was a year after their meet, when without any promoting, a trailer for a movie was launched, with the two of them as the main characters that made a deal to help each other commit suicide. The movie was the most expected one of that year, despite no one knowing anything about it but those 50 seconds showing both of them in front of their laptops writing mails to the other. The title was vague “50 Days” and there were no promoting methods, from posters of the movie, to short interviews about it, none of those existed.
Every talk show host that asked to make an interview about the said movie was shut down, critics were confused by the secrecy, since directors tend to do as much advertising as they can, but it turned out that doing nothing, was the perfect method to make everyone talk about the movie. Once it hit the screens a few months later, the fans that expected it purely based on the actors playing were pleasantly surprised with a well written plot, and marvelous filming and editing. The ending of the movie, was one that left its mark on the YA movie industry, making everyone wish that the heroine would have found her partners in crime affection enough to make her wish to live, but sadly it didn’t. The ending broke the world’s heart, but no one seemed to mind at all, since the film featured a couple of shared intimacies between the Hyuuga girl and Uchiha boy. From kisses to, warm hugs and even the dramatic final scene, of Sasuke’s character walking away crying after Hinata’s character funeral, all the tragedy was forgiven.
After finally all the secrets of the movie being spilled, the two actors had the freedom to share everything about the making of the film, from the easiness of working together, to their fast friendship. Pictures of them together on and off set started filling the internet and newspapers for a period of time, only to die down for a couple of months.
Their radio silence was picked up as a sign of their relationship, which was in the ‘hiding’ at that moment. As crazy as it seemed at the time, the theories were proven somewhat right when a picture of them kissing was featured on the front page of a magazine, followed by a video posted on Hinata’s Instagram with her and Sasuke doing a silly dance which ended with the pair hugging and sharing a small kiss.
The fandom could not hold their excitement back, their relationship was labeled as ‘goals’ for the duration of 3 years, the length of it. But a couple of weeks after Sasuke’s 25th birthday their relations suddenly ended.
The media and fans were confused, since they never once made any statement of not getting along, their last picture together was barely a week before the break-up and they seemed content. Everyone was expecting a marriage, not a break-up!>>
It came hard for him to read about his failed love life on every magazine and news site in the world, but whenever he saw anything with her name, he couldn’t help but read, because maybe one of these writers would say something remotely close to the possibility of their break-up being fake, or them getting back together, yet none did that.
“You’re sulking again”
Gaara, his friend and bodyguard told him. The redheaded man was sitting on his sofa as well, switching between Tv channels, to anyone he would have looked like a friend only, not like the man in charge of the safety of his life. Sasuke sighed and put his pad on the coffee table.
“She’ll be back.”
The Sabaku man reassured him, he had been saying that every day since the break-up, and each day it seemed more of a lie. At the beginning he was certain Hinata would turn around and run back to his side, but as weeks passed, he was starting to doubt the possibility.
“You put too much faith in her”
The black-eyed man said while walking into the hallway leading to his bedroom, he was tired and needed sleep. His bed was the only comfort he still had. It was their bed for 3 years. The bedsheets still smelled like her even after being washed a number of times, the mattress still held her body shape.
The last phrase from the article he just read sat heavy on his brain. << Everyone was expecting a marriage, not a break-up!>> He sure had too. He had asked Hinata to marry him, and she dead-pan rejected him, not only did she say no, but she had actually got up and left him.
He knew that she must have had a good reason to leave, he just couldn’t figure out what. Before the said incident, she had been dropping hints here and there about getting married. Subtle hints from sighing happily at the end of rom-cons when the couple got married, to straight up forward questions such as whether he would be alright with a western-type wedding rather than a Japanese one.
He was so fucking certain they were on the same page. Every time she asked anything regarding marriage, he sat a little straighter since the ring sad untouched hidden in their bedroom for a little over 2 weeks, before the hints started. He just needed the time to be right, and when he thought it was; apparently, she didn’t.
He took out his phone and looked at his messages, he had plenty of those but none from Hinata. When she left, she only asked for time and space and he was hell bound to give her whatever she wanted, but the more time passed his hope of her returning with an explanation grew smaller. Being a person in the public eye, he learnt a few important lessons such as not to read the comments to Drama-articles, but he caved this time.  Every comment was full of speculations or just straight-up angry for the way things ended between the two of them.
Finally, he put his phone on the nightstand and sighed. Since they started dating 3 years ago, he was so used to her being at his side almost every day. Sure, they were busy with filming their own movies or tv series, with photo shoots, interviews, talk-shows and everything else their agent scheduled. But everyone liked to take advantage of their relationship and of their common fanbase so most of the times they played in the same series, they were called for shows at the same time, there was not a day to go by when they weren’t together for at least a couple of minutes.
Sasuke moved onto her side of the bed and buried his head in her pillow. He kept wondering if she missed him as much as she did him. Her smell still filled their bathroom and there were still days when he’d wake up confused over the empty space in his bed.
He knew Hinata loved him, their love life was full, he would catch her staring at him with a smile on her face, without even realizing it they were always touching, holding hands, their shoulders pressed together, her hand on his knee, his arm around her waist, so without her there he felt somehow incomplete.
He must have fallen asleep at some point because he was jerked awake by a loud crash in the living room. He could hear Gaara talking to someone, not sure who could have caused all this chaos he got up and went to see what was happening. Getting closer to the ruffle he recognized the man talking.
“I don’t give a shit that he decided to give her space. Just because that’s what she wants doesn’t mean it’s what she needs”
His breath sped up. Neji, he was talking about Hinata. He never expected her cousin to come seek him out. The older Hyuuga saw him and started moving towards him, Gaara made a move to get in front of Sasuke before Neji could reach him.
“Out of my way Sabaku. He has to come with me”
“Do you know where she is?” Sasuke asked and he moved around Gaara.
“I do, and she really needs you right now”
That was all he had to hear. If Neji thought it was a good idea for him to go to Hinata it had to be, he would never do anything to harm his little cousin. Sasuke only nodded at his red-headed friend and they were on the move.
They took Neji’s car, the plan was to get Hinata and if all went well Neji would drive them both to their home if not…he’d still drive Sasuke. He only hoped things would turn out good.
“Do you know what happened?”
The Hyuuga clenched his hands around the wheel tighter. “I do” Sasuke opened him mouth to ask what but couldn’t get the words out before Neji talked again. “I really don’t think you should hear this from me. Granted you were supposed to be the first to find out after her but we all make mistakes, don’t be mad at her, she tried her best”
They parked the car across the street from a hotel, Sasuke followed Neji and Gaara was just a step behind him. They didn’t stop in the lobby to ask for the hotel room, Neji walked straight to the elevator and pressed the button for the 12th floor. They didn’t talk, the people that got into the elevator on the 4th floor kept staring at Sasuke but they didn’t say anything either. Finally, when they reached their destination, they marched down the corridor to room 127. The Hyuuga male sighed before softly knocking on the door.
“Hina..it’s me open up” when nothing happened he knocked again but no movements could be heard from the other side of the room. Being fed up with the wait he got his wallet out and took a key card and opened the door.
The room was dark but Sasuke recognized her scent, he noticed her clothes on the floor and finally his eyes rested on her sleeping form on the bed. He took a few steps forward and felt his mouth dry when he realized she was wearing one of his shirts and clenching another one in her hands.
He heard Neji sigh again and he whispered something to Gaara, the two made their way to the hallway but not before telling Sasuke to call for them if anything happened. He nodded without really registering what they were saying, nothing mattered but Hinata at that moment.
He walked up to the bed and sat next to her caressing her check and then her hair, she stirred in her sleep but didn’t wake up. The need to touch her was immense, it physically hurt him not to bend down and kiss every inch of her skin.
He didn’t stop caressing her face and hair for another 30 minutes until finally her eyes opened, she looked up at him and her smile was so wide he felt his heart bust. She was still sleepy and he wasn’t sure if she thought he was real or just a dream but when she sat up and hugged him, he didn’t stop her, nor did he stop her when she started kissing him or when she sat herself in his lap.
He knew they should talk but he missed her so fucking much his brain wasn’t working right. He forgot just how perfect she fit in his arms.
She was the one who stopped the kiss, her breath was shallow, and her eyes were dazed with lust. That look alone would have been enough to make him hard, but her weight on him and the feel of soft curves in his hands only made his pants feel even tighter.
Hinata looked at him for a moment before kissing her way from his jaw down his neck. Her hands wondered all over his chest and back, she started rocking her hips and he couldn’t help the deep throaty groan that escaped his lips. She seemed pleased with the effect she had over him and only started moving faster.
“Hinata…o fuck”
Hearing his voice everything in her stiffened. She stopped moving, stopped kissing and looked up at him like a deer caught in head lights. She was about to get up and flee but Sasuke reached back for her and pulled her into his lap and held her close.
“Y-you’re real” her voice was only a whisper. He wanted to kick himself for allowing things to go that far when she obviously thought she was dreaming. Her shoulders stared shaking and soft sobs filled the room.
“Shh, it’s okay. Everything’s going to be fine”
After a few minutes she stopped crying and moved her head to look up at him. “Why are you here?”
He only smiled at her and kissed her tears away. She didn’t push him away which was a good thing. “I asked for time, for space…” her voice was soft.
“I know, I’m sorry I thought I could give it to you, but…”
After looking at him once again she rested her head on his chest and finally returned his hug, her hands fisted the back of his shirt and her legs wrapped around his middle it felt like she was trying to bring herself closer to him, as close as it was physically possible.
“I’m sorry”
“It’s fine love” He said into her hair. He didn’t know why she apologized, but he didn’t care at that moment, all it mattered was that she was in his arms now. Her soft sobs broke his hear and he couldn’t help tightening his grip, bringing her as close as possible.
It took her a couple minutes to calm down, her face was on the crook of his neck, his hands buried into her hair, they were both breathing in the other, almost like their need of the other was what fueled their lives and the past weeks they’ve been working on empty tanks.
Hinata was the first to push away and look up at him, her hands were trembling as she reached out for his face. She cupped his cheeks and ran her thumbs under his eyes taking in the bags, Hinata leaned towards him and kissed his lips softly, just a few pecks nothing more.
“I’m so sorry baby” Her voice broke and he wished he knew what was wrong, so he could fix it.
“What’s wrong Hina? You have to tell me so I know how to fix it.”
Her eyes filled with tears and she kissed him once more “What if you can’t fix it? If we can’t fix it?” her voice was barely above a whisper.
She bit her lip and got off of him and walked to the far end of the room. Pacing back and forth, she did it a couple of times before suddenly stopping. “A few weeks ago, I thought I was pregnant”
Sasuke was stunned, her being pregnant never crossed his mind, but it would have been the best news ever, but the past tense filled him with anxiety.
“I didn’t want to tell you until I was certain. So, I took a few pregnancy tests 2 of them came off negative but one was positive so I was confused. I scheduled an appointment to check. I-I never had issues with my cycle or infections so I didn’t visit my gynecology doctor quite as often as it is recommended” She stopped pacing in front of him and took his hands into hers. “I told her I wanted a pregnancy test and when that came out negative, she suggested we do a few more tests and I said sure…” She was crying again. Sasuke freed his hands from hers and instead placed them on her waist and pulled her next to him. The silence overtook the room.
“I’m infertile” she finally confessed “the chances of me getting pregnant are very slow, I can’t give you the family you deserve. How could I do that to you? The day you asked me to marry you was the day I just got the results back” Sasuke silently cursed himself for not noticing the fact that she was upset, he had planned it and was so nervous about it, he did not pay attention to her.
“Hinata, it’s fine, everything is ok” He whispered against her hair and placed kissed on her temple. Of course, he wanted to have kids with her, and he would later mourn the loss of that idea but only after he was certain that she would be in his arms. “We’re already a family Hianta. we could also always adopt later on, but all I want now is you.”
Her eyes were watery and red, her expression was so broken. “You don’t hate me? You don’t think I’m broken?”
“I love you, you know that, there’s nothing that could change that, plus you’re not broken love. There is absolutely nothing wrong with you” Sasuke assured her. He couldn’t imagine how Hinata felt. “Let’s go home ok?” He asked to which Hinata only nodded. He picked her up and walked to the door, opened it and looked at Gaara and Neji who were on the hall away from the door; probably to give them privacy. Neji looked relieved to see them together while Gaara’s eyes fell to Hinata and his composure changed from his normal expressionless to sadness. Gaara walked in front of him and Neji was behind him. The walk from the lobby to the car was done in a rush just in case there were paparazzi around.
Neji started driving. “I’ll come back and pack all her things tomorrow” Sasuke nodded. They were together, that’s what mattered. Everything else would fall in place later.

Same as my Hiruzen post, just wanna keep this analysis using the feminist (I hope I did it right and my Literature teachers won’t roll their eyes at me lol) (but it’s just for Twitter so wtvr) approach on my Tumblr too. Was posted on July 11 2020:
Ok this has been in my (Twitter) drafts for so long but I wanted to wait till I finish all 500 episodes to post this lol. I love Naruto but God, the writing for its female characters is shit. This is written based only on Naruto and Naruto Shippūden (manga and anime). I think it got better in Boruto but I’ve yet to see it. Anyway
Women are not given the burden of carrying important roles that represent relationships built throughout the series, as if, they are not capable of creating bonds strong enough to drive a character even though it is what Naruto is all about; the importance of bonds between humans.
Examples of relationships;
Friends: Naruto-Sasuke, Kakashi-Obito
Kouhai-senpai: Itachi-Shisui
Siblings: Itachi-Sasuke
Student-teacher: Naruto-Jiraiya, Naruto-Iruka, Asuma-Shikamaru
Patriotism: Itachi-Konoha, Shisui-Konoha
Lovers to enemies: Hashirama-Madara ( :p )
These relationships as we all know are the basis of the series’ plots and developments. I mean, if not for Naruto’s feelings towards Sasuke, the anime won’t exist... and if not for Sasuke’s feelings towards Itachi, he wouldn’t have abandoned Naruto... and if not for Itachi’s patriotism towards his village, he wouldn’t have killed off the Uchiha clan, which is the reason why Sasuke hated him in the first place. These three related, complementing events are I think crucial instances of what the Naruto universe is built upon. They also are the reason other relationships were able to be expanded (i.e. Itachi-Shisui share the same loyalty and love for Konoha, Naruto became Jiraiya’s apprentice to be able to compete with Sasuke).
And as u can see, no female characters are involved at all. Only time female characters are seen creating bonds and/or have a role to move the plot is when they are driven by romance (e.g. Hinata-Naruto, Tsunade-Dan, Karin-Sasuke). This paints the idea that women are only concerned of men and romance in the anime?? Even a simple friendship between female characters was almost impossible to be portrayed healthily (i.e. Sakura-Ino are supposedly good friends but they always put down each other).
The anime itself has agreed that the sole reason a female is present amongst male characters is because they are able to be motivated when a woman is around to be impressed, which will lead them to wanting to improve themselves and become better shinobi.
When Kakashi asked Hiruzen why were Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura put together in a team, the answer he got was because Sasuke needs someone with the experience of using Sharingan to be there for him when his is activated and in order to be able to control the Kyuubi inside Naruto in case it goes berserk again, Sharingan is needed, which is a sound reason why the two of them are put together.
And Sakura??? Hiruzen said (omg it still pisses me off), she’s only in Team 7 because that would drive the boys to become stronger because they would want to impress Sakura. Like?? She only exists to be a fucking trophy that could be won is it?? That’s it?? I think this was why at first I was against Sakura and Sasuke’s relationship. IT DIDN’T SEEM TRUE. Yea yea I know there are scenes that have suggested their feelings are mutual but lol let’s be real. Boruto saved it. If not for how they’re presented in Boruto,,, lol.
Anyway, Kakashi was seen to be on the same page with Hiruzen because he was reminded of how Obito worked hard to catch up to him so that he could impress Rin. The same thing happened to Hiruzen’s team; Jiraiya wanted to beat Orochimaru just to catch Tsunade’s attention. I understand that it is natural for boys (and girls) to improve themselves in order to attract the person they like but to give female characters no role other than to be a trophy?? That’s just dumb and objectifying.
Sakura got a shit ton of hate ever since Naruto (her character only improved A BIT in Shippūden), and honestly, Idt it’s her fault. Her character writing was so shit that all she ever did was scream Sasuke’s name and when Sasuke is knocked out, she’d call for Naruto. She has a great potential to become a kunoichi of the same level as her teammates but the anime never tried to put the spotlight on her. A lot of times we saw other characters say “wow Sakura has potential” but we never see that being polished on screen.
If only she was given the chance to take an active role in battles, maybe the anime would’ve appeared better in regards to its treatment towards female characters. The only battle that I remember of with Sakura taking an active part in it??? Her fight with Sasori. Not saying that her role during the war is insignificant but even with that in mind, when Sasuke is present, she could only think of him??
And SHE COULD’VE STOPPED MUGEN TSUKUYOMI BY DESTROYING OBITO’s RINNEGAN BUT BECAUSE SHE HESITATED, MADARA MANAGED TO STEAL IT!!
[ This video has all the Sakura scenes that pissed me off. ]
Why did she hesitate?? She’s a medic nin fgs?? This is what I meant by her writing is shit. The Sakura that I know wouldn’t think twice to do what she needed to. AND to think that just a few moments before, SHE SAVED NARUTO’S LIFE?? BY PUMPING HIS HEART USING HER HAND??? And he survived!! With her aid!! The fact that she managed to pull that off but not destroying Obito’s Rinnegan is just pure bullshit.
But I’m sort of glad they had the filler episodes where they showed Sakura’s (and Ino’s) growth, how they went thru their training and stuff. It’s not much but thanks for the fillers I guess?? The manga can go suck some balls.
Another mention of a female character being disregarded as an important ninja would be Konan. Throughout the Naruto vs Akatsuki arc, Konan’s skills and determination have been displayed countless of times. And I’m glad she was given the chance to prove her ability but what rubbed me off the wrong way was Jiraiya’s opinion on her. Every time he spoke of the three orphans he took in, he always mentioned Nagato’s strength and Yahiko’s desire to bring peace in a positive manner. But when it comes to Konan, his only adjective for her was “pretty”.
Konan is more than just a feminine presence with beauty as her only personality?? She’s a strong-willed person who is able to stand alongside her comrades in fighting for what they believe in. She was willing to sacrifice herself in order to defeat Obito/Madara in a heartbeat!! Jiraiya could’ve said better things about her.
From this, we can say how biased a male character’s view is on other females?? As if, only men would fight against injustices of the shinobi world but women?? uwu she pretty yes she will grow up to be a beautifoOl woman.
Kishimoto couldn’t write women very well and he admitted this himself but God, I wish he would’ve tried harder. Not able to write women well is such a shitty excuse for a writer... especially when we know his female characters are capable just as much as their male counterparts.
Also I try to take this positively but you know how during Naruto’s time, the only medic nins are his female characters? (i.e. Sakura, Ino, Tsunade) I think he meant to portray women as healers and that’s a pure intention but lol it also sort of sends the message that to him, no matter how smart and talented a woman is, they shall not be given the duty to fight!! They should just wait and be ready to receive injured comrades while the boys go fight evil and bring peace!! I wanna give credit to him for making women healers but lol does he deserve it??
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

What if Toru had a romantic partner?
This relates to my series over on AO3 and, specifically, my OC. Someone once asked that, if Toru hadn’t been aromantic, how would Sasuke respond to Toru being in a relationship with someone? Specifically, how would protective!Sasuke respond, because little Sasuke is very protective of Toru.
Honestly, looking back at this, there’s potential for this to be a QPR, depending on how Toru and his partner identify it.
The Scene
Sasuke stands in front of this person and Naruto stands next to him, all bright colours and large grins and making the person feel at ease and contrasting Sasuke. Naruto just babbles about something inane and completely boring - or so Sasuke thinks - and then Sasuke elbows Naruto in the ribs and hisses out, "The coast is clear." And the grin just drops from Naruto's face and his face flattens out and it surprises the person because Naruto is always smiles and happiness and here he's just flat and emotionless and like Sasuke. And, of course, the young Uchiha is scowling at nem fiercely.
"If you dare hurt him," Naruto says warningly, threat showing and clear in his voice.
"We'll kill you," Sasuke says, voice low and the pair of them are soldiers and killers and murderers and for Toru they'll be everything. "And it won't be nice," Sasuke adds on, and the words are a promise, something not quite tangible but they are solid in the way chakra is - not solid at all until it's dangerous and hurting and killing (but protection too).
The person, well, ne's heard tales regarding Toru's little family. Ne's been told whispered stories from Kiku, laughing anecdotes from Shou remembered for how adorable they all seem, and few fond memories from Iruka (and ne's never been jealous of Iruka because ne gets family, and Iruka is family and ne trusts Toru). So, ne just laughs, bright and loud and the laughter flowing out of nirs mouth and seeming to echo around the space.
Naruto and Sasuke are, well for lack of a better word, surprised because they were expecting a reaction but none like the one they were given. So, they resort to their default expressions - Sasuke glaring and glowering and angry at being seen as weak, as something pitiable, at being laughed at, and Naruto fixes a false grin to his face to hide darker thoughts and he plans pranks that have only gotten more dangerous and more stealthy as he has aged.
Ne has gotten the shovel talk from others, brief murmured words of threat similar to Naruto and Sasuke's ones, but different as well because ne never laughed at them, but maybe that's because their whispered threats had never been about the threat coming from them - but from a much more dangerous source.
"Naruto-kun, Sasuke-kun," ne says, a hint of laughter still in nirs voice, "if I ever hurt Toru, there won't be anything left of me to kill - Toru will have already done it."
Naruto and Sasuke share a look because, well, that makes sense actually. Toru is dangerous and deadly and all blades and sharp edges and he may be in a relationship and he may be in love, but that doesn't detract from anything. "We'll ensure that you stay dead, even if we have to first call you back to life and then kill you," Sasuke says, desperate to hold onto the threatening points that Naruto and he are trying to get across.
And ne, well, ne has never said ne isn't reckless or dangerous and there's a reason why ne has ended up in a relationship with Toru, and it's not because ne is pretty or took a risk or anything but it's because ne originally marched right up to Toru and asked for a spar, and when ne was pinned down and losing just distracted Toru with a kiss - or tried to - and ended up with a kunai through nirs hand, and then ne forced Toru to come to the hospital and asked for a date. It isn't a romantic story by any means, but it's theirs, and ne loves it because it shows how dumb ne is and how Toru is willing to give second chances, and really, ne will get destroyed by Toru if ne tries anything.
"There won't be anything left of me after Toru's done with me," ne says, because that's the truth. There's a light laugh from behind nem, and then Toru's there and swinging an arm around nirs shoulders.
"Instead of giving nem the shovel talk brats, I'd be more worried about me giving your partners the shovel talk," Toru says with a grin that has a hint of teeth.
Naruto and Sasuke share a glance, worried but not (because Toru wouldn't ever do something to harm them intentionally). "We're not gonna get partners, ever," Naruto decides and Sasuke confirms this with a fierce nod.
Toru and ne laugh, because these two brats, honestly.
