Niffty's character is so.... FLAT!!!! She's got ZERO motivation for anything, her only motives seem to just be the unpredictable comedic relief :///

I wanna treat her a little more seriously (or at least as seriously as I treat the other characters, which is not a lot bc i think they're all too silly LOL)

I wanna give her like,,,,, RAGING OCD, like REALLY BAD, it's fucking CRIPPLING. She has a MILLION compulsions that she NEEDS to act on ("how many times did I flick this switch already? 3 times? Do it 3 more times just to be sure the lights still work" "everything is okay, right?" "one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twel")

I think Alastor plays into this a lot, like messing her up when she's counting, or purposely not reassuring her if she asks him, just to see her get all crazy because he thinks its funny.

(I think Husk and Niffty are pretty close as a result of this by the time of the first episode, they both have this camaraderie that ALASTOR SUCKS!!!!!!)

probs asking a strange question rn but still: what are vika and saran's hair textures are like? i somehow formed my own opinion(does this count as a headcanon?? idk) and wanna know how close it is to the truth

saran's hair are t h i c k and glossy, healthy looking and not easy to style. because of the natural gloss they start to appear greasy very very fast(pain in the ass fs)

vika's hair are lightweight(=> floofy) and super soft, are manageable to style but won't hold its form. get tangled easily, maybe?? not very sure abt that. for some reason i think he has dry scalp, don't ask why, i have zero idea too

sarans hair is thickkk but silky looking. it doesnt get tangled but it tends to stick up if he (was) sleeping funny (he has terrible bed hair if someone remembers the doodle i did one time). its also pretty straight unlike him but theres some stubborn, shorter strands always sticking up (also why he doesnt have super short hair, among other reasons)

vikas hair is feathery soft and does get tangled easily yea! its better to comb through it w fingers to avoid causing knots etc. he has this kind of hair (and look) where he always looks really good and effortlessly stylish no matter if he did or didnt do his hair

A-a-a positive place. And, um... yeah, that's the goal, right? I think when I was a kid, um, anything that would give me any sort of excitement or-or-or amusement or enjoyment, uh, it always got kinda fսckеd... But I-I think... sometimes they just, they try too hard. You know, or they'd make promises that they weren't able to keep.

Have to remind myself to breathe sometimes. I, um, have to remind myself to, uh... to be present, you know.

His instincts are telling him how great this partnership could be, yet he's been sabotaging it since she first walked in and he felt good feelings around her.

But are we deceived into thinking that Claire represents joy and amusement? Is this a sleight of hand?

I don't know if you have seen the last thing RS posted on instagram, and I don't wanna sound mean or like I'm criticizing every single thing she does, but, why does this feels a bit off? Like, I know every author needs money, and that's why they sell books, special editions and merch from those books. But seeing how some people who went to that last "book signing" now want to order or buy ANOTHER lo book just to get an autograph or that "exclusive doodle" feels a bit... Idk, bad? Like, the fans have to spend more money than other fans just to get this stuff? It feels a bit like what happened with that Persephone + Ares book that had a special edition that was all black, but costed more than the regular edition so the fans had to spend more money if they wanted their lo novels to look good together. Idk, maybe i'm just seeing too much into it, but I still wanted to ask your opinion on the matter.

story time, but there's this band I'm really into where, 1-2 years ago, they had released two new separate EP's, and they were selling them individually as special editions, only for them to then SELL THEM ALL OVER AGAIN AS BUNDLED VERSIONS AND THIS JUST LIKE

IT FEELS VERY SIMILAR LOL

there was also a time where this Youtuber musician my husband was really into was selling vinyls, and we managed to snag a copy in the hour that they were available, only for them to start selling SIGNED copies the week after they had sold out of the original prints

it's just an overall "ech" move because it really screws over your audience for paying attention/getting in first, y'know? That's what's such a big deal about being in a fandom, a lot of people like being "first" so to sell something under the precedent that it's "limited edition" just to print more with an even COOLER thing attached feels like such a fuck you. They're literally just trying to gouge more money out of people who have already bought the thing and "need" the exclusive copy.

This just goes to show btw there was nothing stopping her from signing books personally at SDCC. That feels like such a middle finger to the people who paid money to go to and be at SDCC (travel costs AND attendance costs) esp the people who cosplayed as LO characters and were clearly specifically there for Rachel just to be given a stamp and shooed away with zero conversation (as I talked about in a previous post) and then find out later after you've already gone home days later that you can get a PERSONALLY SIGNED AND DOODLED COPY if you go and buy a brand new book in one specific bookstore. That's so lame man, I can't even.

Just to add btw, not related to your ask really, but it really goes in conjunction with it, there was a tweet recently from Rachel advertising some new t-shirts.

But people who bought the shirts reported that they're INCREDIBLY cheaply made and don't look anything like the products listed. You can even see the low ratings on them but when you actually view them-

minor and moderate worldless spoilers ahead! i really like this game so please play it so you can have the full context of my stupidity

this upload's gonna be a bit different, since i wanna talk about a Very Very Stupid Thing i did when i played worldless last month, and hopefully some of yall can enjoy me being the butt of the joke idk. minor spoilers are ahead, but i'll put the moderate spoilers under the cut below.

also because there isn't a better place to put this, the colors i used throughout these doodles are from sweetavery's zenith, it's an impeccable fit for this game!

so, picked up worldless last month and yet another game pestered me about playing on a controller as opposed to keyboard. "how dare!" i shouted at my computer, "for i have bested the pantheon of hallownest in hollow knight and make for a fine accomplice in rain world's jolly co-op with just a keyboard! i don't need a controller!"

well, to absolutely no one's surprise, the default keyboard layout SUCKS. but that's nothing a little rebinding can't fix. i messed around in the menus, experimented with what made the game feel mildly more comfortable to play, which worked for about twenty minutes.

so i haven't talked much about the story, yeah? well that's because this wrestling with the controls took up so much of my attention that i could barely clock in what was happening! so that when the above happened, well… you can see how well that went out.

i actually put the game down out of frustration because i was really excited for it and yet the controls were so obstinate. this was my first impression, and it… was not a great one, you can tell.

about a week later i was bored out of my mind and picked up the game again. i'd wondered if i should've started a new save or picked up where i left off. i wish i had done the former. because…

yeah, i'd gone off the intended path and ignored the objective because i'd literally forgotten what the game had told me it wanted me to do.

that's as much i'm willing to divulge to the people who want to play the game with as few spoilers as possible. moderate spoilers below.

rest assured, i'm getting a pair of controllers later this month. the transition is gonna be… rocky. i'd been meaning to get some for being able to play horizon zero dawn and hyper light drifter and other games of that caliber, but this experience with worldless urged that along faster. (i am not looking forward to relearning how to play hollow knight and rain world on a controller)

back to the game:

so yeah, even at this point, i had not connected the dots that the guy who beat me up was the same guy i was chasing across the map was the same guy i saw in that apparition was the same guy currently crouched in front of me. i get "early-game amnesia" every so often (ask me sometime about my experience with shovel knight this summer), but worldless has been the worst example of it happening to me, not helped by the awful controls distracting me in the opening, not playing it for a long enough time for my memory of the first twenty minutes to erode, and then returning to my old save file instead of starting up a new one.

i somehow blearghed my way into resolving the conflict peacefully, since i'd known the battles are a bit like puzzles and this one had given me the capability of using wisp's cry. so i did, thinking it was simply the resolution for the battle.

and this. this took me off-guard. but, obviously, not in the way the devs had expected. i didn't know who this guy was so suddenly playing as him was rather confusing.

which is a shame, really. i wish i'd restarted the game instead of picked up from my current save. i wish i could erase my memories of the game and replay it afresh (but with more optimal controls). i wish i'd gotten a controller before playing worldless.

but what's done is done. i wrestled the controls into something somewhat manageable. in the span of less than two weeks of active play, i'd beaten the game, found the secret boss, ascended the path of determination, and overcome the ultimate trial all on a keyboard.

dw tho, i eventually bonded with my beloved deuteragonist (dubbed him "coal" in contrast with the original deuteragonist "wisp"). i've drawn a ton of them in the past couple of weeks and i'm hoping to share em soon. gotta get the word about this game out somehow :D

omg! this is such a nice message it makes me feel so bad to answer it this late. I started new job this month and things were hectic so you've actually zeroed in on perfect timing with this ask. Wish I had seen it back them because it's so nice and I was getting hit hard with like impostor syndrome back then 😅

And yup you've guessed correctly. Silly and goofy is like 90% of my motivation. I wholeheartedly recommend that approach :)

☆ SMG4's Afterlife After Show

I have my own version of the whole "all the dead smg4 characters exist in a space together and hang out" thing but they're not like. In heaven.

They're just kinda in this never ending white void liminal space type area ?? They've got a peaches castle in there so they have a place to actually live. As for why it's there?? I dunno and neither to they. It wasn't there to begin with and only just recently showed up. Smth abt that castle never being used in an smg4 vid again or at least fir a while idk I forgot my thought process behind it.

Other than that there's a gateway window type thing the group can use to check up on the living cast. Honestly since I've decided they have a castle the gateway is probably a painting. Tho an individual can also just project themselves back down to the showgrounds or wherever but that's just tiring and can't ever really last long so it's not done as often.

The gateway is how they watch the weekly (uploads) adventures and the projection is more so how they check in on one specific person. Axol does this the most, he sits with Melony while she draws or naps.

This au started initially by me having the thought of "What if in Western Spaghetti when the simulation starts tweaking out around Axol and Desti they glitch into like fucked up mangled versions of themselves cuz of how they died?" With Desti obviously having a stab wound and a halo (based off that one merch piece where she also had a halo) and Axol being ALL FUCKED UP. In fact here's a doodle of the idea for said appearance (<— This is in the context of this au so that's why he's so calm. I'll be drawing the aforementioned scene some other time tho).

But yeah that's how the idea came to be so initially everyone was gonna have somewhat fucked up forms

Zero was similar to Axol with the exposed ribs and had a broken half of Eldritch Zer0's horns.

Niles had that missing texture pattern Axol had on the covered side of his face and the other half of Eldritch Zer0's horns n some other shit

Wren was bruised asf from being crushed and also permanently sopping wet cuz he was in that tank when he died (fucking pathetic soggy cat)

Oh and Spudnick would have been covered in cracks and Fred would have been covered in missing texture patches if i had ever got to sketching them

Okay, it's been forever of me doing absolutely nothing so here we go making an actual intro post today

This is a sideblog for @dsaf-confessions, I am the anon known as, you guessed it, hooker foxy anon!

I'm deciding to make a shift in what I do with this blog, including in character asks with my anonsona, posting art, interacting more with the other anon blogs, and all that good shit. More on that later, though. My main blog is @an0nthecat, consider checking that out if ya wanna see art or just hear me yap more

Some basic information about me:

The names that I use online are literally Anon/Anonymous. It might get confusing I know but it's how I've been referred to for years I can't really do anything about it anymore HAHAHAH just call me that if you can

I am also aroace, and non-binary. I use they/them pronouns.

I am currently hyperfixated on DSaF, FNaF and Goldie's Inferno (a FNaF AU made by the amazing bunnycat, that was sadly discontinued recently.)

They have some fun anon lore! Most of their basic info is identical to mine so I'm not gonna bother so let's just type out the lore:

Their arc follows the DSaF 2 Fairly Evil ending, almost immediately after biting Peter they gained sentience and were super fucking confused. Their first thought was "Damn these things on my feet hurt" so they ripped off those high heels and followed Dave and Jack out of the restaurant and hitched a ride to Vegas in the trunk of their car.

They pried themselves out of it when they reached the Vegas strip and spent their first month of sentience getting fucking wasted (despite them being an animatronic... Don't ask) and terrorizing a bunch of drunk people.

They literally have next to zero interactions with any DSaF characters from this point on, they legit just chill in Vegas for the entirety of their lifetime.

They renamed themselves from Nightmare Foxy to Hooker Foxy for the shits and giggles and live in a dumpster behind a bar. They get barfed on a lot.

Their clothes were acquired by beating up random ass people on the street.

Okay now that that's taken care of... let's talk about asks and the future of this blog.

just wanted to ask on how axyl and essi would look like on zero g. just curious to find out about this. i wonder how they grew up and what jobs do they have now.

HOOHOO I actually do have some really old doodles for both of them

I think I’d probably change both of these a little now but I don’t really feel like drawing new versions of em so im using the old ones for now

Axyl’s design is more inconsistent bc their design is based on myself and it’s weird thinking about the future so im kinda like euegjsurger with them appearance-wise, but as far as their plot goes, their main overarching character development ties heavily with how they feel about themself as a blader, and by the time masters/fury rolls around, whether or not it’s really something they wanna continue to pursue. Ultimately, though it’s a very hard decision to make, they end up retiring as a blader, though they do continue to do some mechanic work, and that’s pretty much where they’re at in shogun steel. Some mechanic stuff but mostly just sticking to themself and doing their own thing. and maybe moving in with Zhouxing and getting a cat and a dog with him who knows the world is a beautiful place really

Essi I honestly don’t really have as strong of an idea for. Her main plot ever since her initial creation way back in second grade was always tied really heavily to gingka’s plot in fusion, so afterwards it’s kinda just up in the air for her. She’d still be a blader and I think she’d probably be traveling the world a lot, maybe helping with restoration stuff, but other than that I don’t really know. She’s kinda just chillin I guess, focusing on herself and vibin as much as she can.
