He's a really calming person to be around, so if you're really struggling that day, he's got you

If you're too hyperfocused and forget to take care of yourself, he will find a way to pull you away without bothering you. Even if it's just for a bit so you can eat or something

But if you have trouble focusing? Well, sals next to you and talking you through whatever you're trying to to.

He will even help you.

One day, you started frantically cleaning your room. Pulling stuff from the drawers pulling the stuff out from under your bed. Unloading your desk.

But then once you saw the amount of stuff, you kinda froze up. not sure where to even start.

You were honestly so overwhelmed you almost had a breakdown, but then sal walked into your guys' room, looking confused as shit asking you what's going on.

He waited patiently as you explained, and then he sat on the ground with you and started helping you organize everything,talking you through the process the entire time to keep you from getting more overwhelmed.

He's a damn angel

And once you guys got done and the room was back in order, you guys put on a movie and just passed out

If it's a day where you can't seem to sit still. He won't try to stop you.

Naw, he's saying ok come on, let's go to the apartments and run around checking on the ghost.

He doesn't try to hold you in place or stop you he tries to encourage you to do what you need to in a healthy way.

Also, if losing or misplacing things is a struggle for you, that's fine, don't worry.

Cause either he knows where it is or he's looking for it with you. And sometimes, when he sees something in an odd place, he will just grab it and put it where it should be.

And then when you need it, you don't have to go on a scavenger hunt.

On days where you can't seem to drag yourself outta bed or you're just not doing good with racing thoughts

He's with you. If you both have class that day, he will coax you out of bed,

and while you guys are driving there you guys will talk about it, and if you can't put it into words, he will just tell you stuff to get your mind off it

If you don't have class, he will lay with you, and you guys will just put on a show and chat, which makes you feel a bit better

He's like your other half at this point, and it's nice to have some calm when things get crazy

Overall, you both have a pretty good system, and if he's having issues, you help him out too, so it's a pretty win-win you

Larry:

Well, now Larry, I think, has a bit of it to but a little different. He's more on the hyper focus end.

He will get to painting or playing a game, and he's not moving from that spot until it's done, and if you are also hyper focused at the same time it can start off good but then can get a bit unhealthy

It's whoever comes out of it first that will snap the other out of it

But if you're having trouble focusing, he will do his best to help, but let's be honest, you both will probably end up distracted

One day, you were trying to work on a project for one of your classes and you were stuck because you had so much to do and didn't know where to start.

So you tried to put on some music. We'll that didn't work too well because now you're sitting there watching MTV music videos.

By the time Larry got back, you were spaced out at the screen with your project forgotten sitting next to you.

He asked you what it was, and when you told him, he asked if it was done and you ended up explaining that you got stuck.

Well, he sits down with you and takes a look at it and also kinda blanks. Then you guys started talking, and the conversation ventured off, and yall ended up rushing it the night before.

At least he tried lmao.

Now, if it's a hyper day for you guys and you're running around trying to do a bunch of stuff, he will probably roll a joint and give it to you like.

After you do, it can have one of two reactions

1 you actually slow down and are able to chill for a bit, or 2 it just makes you wanna go on an adventure.

If it's the second you guys end up in a gas station getting snacks and then heading over to sals to bother him and his girl it's cool they don't mind lol.

Now, when it comes to misplaced objects it really fucks with larry. Like I said in my general Larry HCs, he's messy but in an organized way.

So if he's digging around trying to find a certain paintbrush and he ends up finding it in the living room instead of in his art area he it really fucks with him.

But he's not mad he's just more confused and like what the fuck I didn't put that there.

And if he asks you and you don't remember, then you guys jokingly blame the ghosts. You both know it probably wasn't them but it's a Lil inside joke.

Now, for days, you can't get up, he stays with you. He's either in the same boat or he just feels bad and understands. Sometimes, he will lay with you, and you both might smoke and talk to each other. Or he will put on a show or music and paint while you do you.

It's just nice to know he's there and that he cares.

Overall, you guys got a lot going on, but you guys manage it as well as you can and what's important is that you do it together 🖤

"Maybe you could draw her more like this to bring out the background more so she's not just stiff," I instructed him. Gerard is a very talented artist, he just has a little bit of trouble deciding what to put where.

"But I feel like if she was a little different, due to her design, she'd go flat," Gerard argues, putting his pencil where he was describing.

I sigh as I place my hand delicately to my chin, trying to see what he's talking about. The deadline is soon and he's not done pitching these characters. "Honestly, Gerard? Whatever feels right. You'll get her."

"You sure?" He asks, seeking confirmation in my words.

I smile, nodding my head, "Yeah. Deadline is tomorrow, just do whatever feels right!" I say before I'm off to my cubicle to continue my project.

I knew he was looking at me. For weeks now, it had become a pattern—one I could almost draw if I could figure out how to capture that lingering gaze in ink. He thought he was subtle, keeping his distance and asking me barely relevant questions about some “project” or “character design” he’d been working on. Gerard was charming, though; there was no denying that. Quiet, a little too good at staring at his desk, and adorably oblivious to how easy it was to read him.

“Hey, uh, (Y/N)?” I looked up from my sketchbook, where I’d been mindlessly drawing a graveyard scene—something I had an odd fascination with lately. Gerard was standing there, hands stuffed in his pockets, wearing that awkward half-smile that looked better on him than it should.

“Gerard,” I said, glancing up with a smirk. “To what do I owe the honor?”

He chuckled, scratching the back of his neck. “I…uh…just wanted to see what you were working on.”

I flipped my sketchbook shut, even though I knew he was dying to see what I’d been drawing. “Just some stuff. You’d probably think it’s too creepy.”

“Try me.”

Maybe it was because I wanted to test him, see how he’d react to what was under the surface, but I opened the book back up and turned it to face him. His eyes widened as he took in the vampires, blood, and dark cemeteries I’d sprawled across the pages.

“You…actually drew all of this?”

I shrugged, trying to keep my cool. “It’s not much. Just whatever’s in my head.”

He laughed, this soft, surprised sound. “Whatever’s in your head is amazing.” He paused, his eyes lingering a second too long.

I grinned, leaning back in my chair. “Well maybe not everything, Way.” I tossed my pen onto my desk, feigning nonchalance. “Can’t have too many weirdos like me around. Bad for the office’s reputation.”

And that's why I left.

Maybe I should’ve told him I was leaving. I hated the idea of going without a goodbye, but part of me figured I’d see him again. He’d get over it. Life had a way of carrying people in different directions, and honestly? I couldn’t stand the thought of another month behind that desk. I needed to be somewhere I could let these ideas out, somewhere that didn’t expect me to keep my weirdness behind a closed sketchbook.

The day I left, I watched the office fade from my rearview mirror, fingers tapping the steering wheel as a familiar guilt crept in. I didn’t leave him my number or my address or even a hint of where I’d gone. Some part of me hoped he’d figure it out. But after that, there was just silence.

Gerard

She left without a word. Just…gone. I tried to keep going like I didn’t notice, told myself it wasn’t a big deal. But the absence gnawed at me, creeping into every sketch and unfinished character. (Y/N) was gone, and I had no clue where she’d gone or why. I stopped asking questions after a while, but I couldn’t stop thinking about her. The thought became like an echo in my mind, constant and inescapable, pushing me to drown it out with anything I could find.

And I did.

One show after another, one drink, one line, whatever I could find to keep the silence at bay. The stage helped a little—at least there, I had the lights in my eyes and the noise blocking out the mess in my head. I’d stand in front of the crowd, hands dripping with fake blood, trying to exorcise whatever pieces of myself felt missing. But then the high would fade, and I’d be left in a dark room, trying to ignore the question that refused to die.

Where did she go?

I kept the band going, kept pretending it didn’t matter, kept letting the weight build. It wasn’t like I had any choice. The shows were packed, and the screams of the crowd felt like both a relief and a punishment. They had no idea. No idea that some days, it felt like I’d never get off this damn ride, that maybe I’d crash and burn right here. But something shifted in 2004. I couldn’t explain it—maybe it was seeing my friends’ faces or feeling the burn of another empty night. But I knew that if I kept going like this, I’d lose everything. I’d lose myself.

I finally made the decision to clean up, and in August 2004, I was clean. Free. My body hated me for it, and my brain wasn’t much friendlier, but I had to get clean. I couldn’t keep living on the edge of destruction. Every day after that, it felt like I was shedding pieces of the person I’d become just to survive. By the time I left, I was…well, I was alive. And that had to be enough.

It had been nearly a year since I’d gotten clean, and for the first time, it felt like I could really breathe on stage again. I could look out at the faces in the crowd and see them. Really see them, not just the blur of movement and lights I’d been numbing myself to. This was what I’d always wanted. This was where I wanted to be.

"MANHATTAN!" I scream into the mic and the crowd before more goes wild. "We are going to FUCK SOME SHIT UP TONIGH!"

And as I say that, Mikey plays the beginning of Give Em' Hell Kid. The set goes without hiccups, the crowd is perfect, and the most I've seen in a few weeks. Right as we leave the stage before the encore, Frank grabs me by my collar.

"Holy shit, Gee," He starts, and concern bubbles in my stomach. Did I do something wrong?

"What? What is it?"

He shakes his head vigorously, "I don't know if I'm tripping, but I swear to God I saw the girl you keep drawing in the crowd."

Fuck.

"What?!" I exclaim.

"Thirty seconds to encore!" One of the stagehands yells.

"Frank, where did you see her?" I ask, frantic. There's no possible way she could be here tonight. Why would she be here tonight.

"Our left, by the barricade. I think?" He explains, looking up to recount exactly where he saw her. My heart thuds against my ribcage as Frank’s words sink in, and I feel my throat tighten. (Y/N)? Here? After all these years?

"Ten seconds!" the stagehand yells, clapping his hands. Mikey shoots me a quick look, and Frank gives me a small, reassuring nod. There’s no time to think or even process—I’m barely holding onto the last traces of composure as we rush back on stage. I grab the mic, trying to get my focus back on the crowd, but every nerve in me is lit up, wondering if (Y/N) is really here tonight.

“MANHATTAN!” I shout again, forcing energy into my voice, hoping it’s enough to cover the wild surge of emotions that’s slamming through me. “YOU READY FOR ONE LAST ROUND?”

The crowd screams, and the band jumps into Helena, the encore I should be ready to pour my soul into. But all I can think about is her—her face, the way she used to sketch, her laugh. The lights are blinding, and I try to keep my focus on the crowd, but my eyes keep searching, desperate to find a glimpse of her. I don’t know if I’m imagining it, but by the end of the song, I swear I see her—a flash of her hair, bright eyes, her face half-turned away in the crush of people, but unmistakably her.

The song ends, and we give a final shout before exiting the stage. As soon as we’re out of sight of the crowd, I turn to Frank, breathless.

“You’re absolutely sure it was her?” I ask, gripping his shoulder.

“Fuck, I don't know how accurate your drawings are,” he says, his voice serious. “Bit it was her, Gee. I’m sure of it.”

“Holy shit,” I breathe, running a hand through my hair as the adrenaline surges through me again. "Where do I even start looking?"

Frank raises an eyebrow. “I’d start by getting your ass back out there before she disappears again. You just finished the show. You’ve got maybe five minutes before the crowd starts spilling out.”

I don’t waste another second. I dart down the steps, half-running, half-pushing past crew members as I head toward the audience exit. It feels like the longest, most insane few minutes of my life, weaving through the backstage area until finally, I’m in the thick of the crowd, scanning every face I can. And then—I see her.

She’s lingering by the side of the barricade, glancing around, half-smiling to herself like she might leave at any moment. She’s a little older, a little different, but I’d know her anywhere. I take a deep breath, feeling my hands start to shake, and then I call out, loud enough to cut through the noise.

“(Y/N)!”

She turns, her eyes finding mine, and for a moment, it’s like everything around us goes still. Her face lights up, and I swear I feel that same electricity that ran between us in the office all those years ago.

"Oh my god, you guys did so good!" She laughed, too, shaking her head. “Gee, look at you! Rockstar Gerard. I always knew you’d end up doing something wild, but I never expected…” She gestured at my blood-stained shirt and smeared makeup. “This.”

I rubbed the back of my neck, heat creeping up my face. “Yeah, well, it’s, uh, a little different from Cartoon Network, that’s for sure. But I never thought I’d see you at a show.”

“Oh, please,” she grinned, giving me a playful nudge. “I knew you’d be doing something big. You were always too talented to be stuck behind a desk, remember?”

I laughed, surprised by the surge of relief that came with her words. “Guess it’s been a while since anyone told me that.”

She softened, and something flickered across her face. “I'm sorry I disappeared. I had to move, and things got in the way, and…” Her voice trailed off, and she shrugged, a little awkwardly. “I never thought we’d run into each other again.”

“Same here,” I admitted, looking down. “But I’m glad we did. Even if it’s, uh…” I glanced at my blood-streaked hands, shaking my head. “Like this.”

She laughed, a bright, genuine sound, and I felt my nerves ease a little. “Honestly, I kind of love it. I’m doing comics, Gee. Lots of, you know…gory, bloody, vampire stuff. Seems like we’re both into weird stuff now.”

“Every time I go into a comicbook store, I look for your name.” I say, feeling a familiar spark of admiration light up in my chest.

“Yeah, well,” she shrugged, but her smile told me she was proud. “I kept drawing, kept pushing for it, and here we are. I got some stuff out that's been somewhat successful, but you—you’re the one really living the dream.”

It felt surreal, standing there with her, years and miles from where we’d left off. She was still (Y/N)—the girl who got me, who somehow saw through everything. But she was different, too. Confident, sharp, like she’d grown in ways I never got to see. And she was right here.

We fell into silence, the crowd thinning around us. Finally, I took a deep breath. “You know, after you left…I wasn’t great, to be honest.”

Her brow furrowed, and she gave me a sympathetic look. “I figured,” she said quietly. “It was a pretty messed-up time for both of us.”

I nodded, knowing she got it. “Yeah, I got pretty lost for a while. It took me…a lot to get back on track, but I’m good now. Clean, you know? And I’m just trying to keep my head on straight, one show at a time.”

I couldn’t help but laugh, and together, we walked out into the night, talking like no time had passed at all. And this time, I knew she wasn’t going anywhere.

who makes the first move and how?: both. but gloria starts it. she gets home from a really long, tiring day at work, remembering that sasha had mentioned a project she needed help on, and she's just exhausted. she walks into the house, though, to see barbie at the dining table helping sasha with said-project, nearly finished. dinner's also made on the stove. barbie beams at her and welcomes her home, giving her a big hug and gushing excitedly about how she and sasha worked so hard. sasha goes upstairs to put her stuff away, and barbie has pencil stains on her hand and face, her hair a little windswept, and she looks so simple and so perfect, and gloria says "kiss me." so barbie does.

who is the most insecure and what makes them feel better?: gloria. she doesn't mean to be; she just has some of those days once in a while where everything can feel so difficult. she usually feels better with some alone time. barbie is very understanding of that and loves to set up gloria's home studio with some art supplies and candles and books just in case gloria wants to spend some time in there. she'll also make her some tea/coffee if gloria feels like it

who is the most romantic?: barbie. she is very silly at first as she gets the hang of it (she nearly gets arrested again for trespassing on private property to pick some of gloria's favorite flowers from a garden) but that woman is a LOVERBOY

how to develop self love and confidence

— a step by step guide by yours truly ♥

disclaimer!! for some people it can take a lot longer to love themselves than others, so don't be discouraged if it takes a bit longer. just remember that no matter what you think, you ARE WORTHY OF LOVE.

step 1: identifying the root cause

first you need to find WHY you dont love yourself. it usually comes down to these main reasons:

society

your looks

comparison

your abilities

childhood trauma

your current situations

it can be just one or more than one, and sometimes it may not be as simple as "my looks", sometimes you may have to dig deeper.

for me, it was because i thought i was "ugly"

step 2: once you know the WHY, research about the topic and try and solve it.

here ive broken down the 6 reasons to help you a bit: (but remember that this is just a small break down, if you want you can research more about the topic & try to battle it)

society: society has tricked us into believing that loving yourself is considered 'vain' or 'narcissistic'. let me tell you right now that THAT IS NOT TRUE. loving yourself is a basic necessity that everyone should have!!

your looks: this is something i struggled with for a loong time. remember that beauty is subjective!! bob could think that travis looks 'average' but Leo could think that travis looks absolutely gorgeous!! ☆ so how did i overcome this? i actually 'glowed up'. bc the main thing i didnt like was face- my teeth to be specific. so once i got braces, my teeth aligned and i started looking so much better. ☆ other struggles: ↴ for you if it may be acne, then you could start trying to take care of your skin better. or if its body image then if you reeeeally dont like it then literally just start working out. if you have the option to yet you still dont then dont complain. but remember that ALL BODIES ARE PERFECT. ★ another thing that helped me a lot was affirmations! i listened to a bunch of affirmations -> i used this video by thewizardliz and it did wonders! (you can also search up on yt self-love/ beauty affirmations)

comparison: for most people comparison comes from social media right? the simple solution to this would be unfollow accounts that dont serve you, or delete/ set a time limit on the social media platform "but what if i compare myself to people i meet in real life?" well we can't exactly unfollow or delete these people but what we can do is turn that jealousy (yes, jealousy) into inspiration! be inspired by the people with greater lives and use that to pull yourself forward! ☆ a quote that i read once (that may or may not help you) : "do not compare your chapter 1 to someone else's chapter 50." you never know what the other person has gone through or is going through that got them to this point!

your abilities: okay theres not much i can say here except that you can learn almost everything online nowadays. stop complaining and get off your lazy butt to prove to yourself just how much potential you have! (but don't beat yourself up for being a lazy butt, im one as well) here is a link to a TON of stuff you can learn online!

childhood trauma: this is a bit of a more delicate subject which i do not know a lot on, my best suggestion would be to just go to therapy (or use an online therapy app- betterhelp). - watching thewizardliz may help as well as she might know more about the topic.

your current situation: whether its trouble with friends, at school, at work, or with family i promise you that these things do not last forever. humans were not put on earth to be unhappy and miserable! (whats the point in that?) my advice is to learn more about the topic (for ex i was struggling with being left out w friends for a while and it did hurt a bit) and see what you can do to fix it or at least make the best out of it. + another reminder that you can use the law of assumption- in basic words the law states that whatever you desire, you have. all you need to do is accept that. heres a quote i read: "if you dont like where you are,, then move. you aint a tree." this is literally YOUR life. RESPECT yourself and dont let people treat you bad because that is disrespecting yourself!

step 3: focus on yourself!!

this is your sign to stop focussing on others' lives and start focussing on your own.

when you start to focus on yourself, up level yourself and try to become your best version of yourself, you actually end up falling in love with that version of yourself, and your current version!

ask yourself: is there even something to love?

ask yourself: would you want to date or be friends with someone like you? think actually deep about this; if your answer is no, then that obviously means that there is some work to do.

if you're constantly negative and complaining and rude all the time, trust me, literally no ones gonna want to hang out with you. and then you'll adopt that 'victim mindset' of "nobody likes me and i suck". instead of doing that, why dont you try to just suck a bit less? there isn't any pressure on you to become amazing the next day, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try.

exercising

journalling

meditation

eating healthy

developing a skill

get enough sleep

take cold showers

taking care of your skin

invest in your appearance

focussing on school/ your grades

With everything going on with Niosi, I'm having trouble reconciling my feelings of the situation with HSR. I'm a relatively new player and while I'm enjoying it, this whole situation makes the experience a bitter and sour one, especially since I'm finishing up the Trailblazer Xianzhou quest.

I was so hyped for Penacony and beyond, to the extent that I was willing to spoil myself because I really enjoy the characters and was looking forward to the story.

I'm really hoping that Mihoyo addresses the issue with a fix soon so that I can enjoy the story. But if it's not fixed, I'm not comfortable supporting or playing a game that allows these kinds of people. I'll probably end up weaning myself off of it and uninstall.

the backlash on twt is still pretty strong even today. the last time this happened with a va (in genshin) it apparently took 10 days for them to make a post addressing it and saying they were changing actors and as far as i remember it was. im not sure how to phrase this, i guess it was “less of a big deal” than with chris (BY WHICH i dont mean that eliot gindi’s actions were any more acceptable, i just mean that i saw less people overall talking about it) but it DID get done. i’m still confident that they’re doing something, and that like last time, they’re getting things sorted out behind the scenes before publicly saying anything.

but yk, this is also different bc with the previous case i mentioned, all the stuff that came out about the actor was new. with chris, this stuff has been known for years now, so….?

and ofc, do whatever makes you most comfortable. the character chris voices is not even in the game yet, he’s supposed to appear in the quest next update and be available to pull the update after that, and if you’re excited about penacony you can play the whole thing without even having to see that character. but i don’t blame you at all for feeling soured about it.

like i said, i’m still hopeful they’ll do something, but if they DO end up never addressing it and just releasing the character… i’m not really sure i’ll be able to look past that, either. its more about the principle of playing a game by a company that allows people like this to work for them. if they really, really have the nerve to not say anything before the update drops, that’s kind of the nail in the coffin.

why kyman is NOTHING like heiman (FROM THE VAULT [2020]) PT. 1

There’s A LOT of evidence that Kyman would be nothing like Heiman. First of all Kyle actually knows how to whip Cartman and get Cartman under control which Heidi did not know how to do. Every single time Heidi would bitch at Cartman he would get annoyed and not listen to a thing she says and try to get rid of her or get away from her. But Cartman LOVES it when Kyle bitches at him and he gets a kick out of it, and Cartman actually likes being around Kyle and cares about what Kyle has to say and listens to him. There are a lot of moments that show that Cartman is capable of expressing empathy and concern around Kyle, wheras Cartman gave 0 shits about Heidi and their relationship went absolutely nowhere. I think a huge example of this was when Cartman & Kyle were in the detention center, Kyle yelled at Cartman to go get him some aluminum foil and scissors and Cartman was like “aluminum foil and some scissors ok” because he saw how upset Kyle was with him and he wanted to fix things. Which rlly shows that even if they do fight and shit they would know how to work it out with each other and forgive each other over whatever happens. I think the only reason why Cartman likes to pick on and torment Kyle so much is to get his attention, but usually once Cartman does have Kyle’s full attention and Kyle goes along with whatever Cartman does, Cartman is nice and treats him with respect. And a hugeee example of this was in “Crack Baby Athletic Association” when Kyle joined Cartman for the crack baby thing, Cartman was really nice to Kyle throughout the entire episode and called him smart and stuff and gave him a hug and all that. And Cartman was listening to everything Kyle had to say and the things Kyle wanted to do for the company. The reason Cartman was tormenting Heidi was bc he just didn’t care about her at all and wanted her to go away LMAO. And we already talked about how in “Tonsil Trouble” after Cartman infected Kyle with aids he was all happy and in a good mood to get to go on a trip with Kyle and tried to hold Kyle’s hand. And another small example of Kyle actually being able to whip Cartman just like he did in “Mexican Joker”, was in “Raisins” when Cartman was making fun of Stan for being upset about losing Wendy, Kyle told Cartman to stop and so he did. And I’m sure there are a ton of other examples like this but those are the best I can think of right now, the bottom line is I’m sure if Kyman happened Cartman would listen to Kyle and respect him and be willing to do what he says. I mean I know it would probably be challenging for Kyle to deal with Cartman, bc we all know how Cartman is. He would still probably do whatever the fuck he wanted to do a lot of the time, but I’m sure he would still make an effort to listen to Kyle and take what he has to say into consideration. And do you really think that Cartman would be able to pull the shit he pulled on Heidi on Kyle? LMAOOOO Kyle knows Cartman wayyyy better than Heidi and can see right through his bs and Kyle always knows when Cartman is up to no good. Like remember when Cartman tricked Heidi into eating that ‘beyond kfc’ which made her fat? There’s NO WAY Kyle would fall for something like that, he would stop Cartman right away and call him out on what he’s doing.

Buncha' info about my trolls au bc I wanna infodump abt it

Under the cut bc it got a bit long whoopsie-

Branch and Poppy are not a romantic couple in this. Major apologies to the Broppy fans, but I never felt them. And because I'm making my own au that's supposed to cater to me, I just couldn't force myself to include a ship I didn't enjoy writing about. Instead of being a romantic pair, they instead develop a sibling dynamic post-first movie and they openly consider themselves brother and sister by the time that World Tour happens. Branch has no remaining family and Poppy has always wanted a sibling, so it worked out well for them because they felt closer than friends but didn't feel romantic. Remember that this is not canon, this is my own thing and I'm not trying to attack the ship or the people who ship it, they're simply not romantic in MY au.

The duo do end up with romantic partners though! Some time after Trollstopia was created, Branch hit it off with Synth and found out he actually kind wanted to try dating him, and so far (as of after Band Together happens) they're going pretty steady and show no signs of breaking up. Poppy and Barb were an unexpected couple but are VERY attached to each other now. They've got a few issues to work out but they're getting better at communicating with each other and making their personalities work, so they're doing okay.

If you were to cast a normal average human into this world, they'd be immediately outmatched in height by essentially every troll except the classicals. Your average pop troll would be maybe around 6'1 (with exceptions like Smidge) and they can only get bigger from there. Techno trolls are the species with the ability to grow the largest due to living in a massive ocean with very few restrictions on their size. And yes, this does mean that compared to a human, someone like Bridget or Velvet and Veneer are absolute giants.

Now for some more Band Together related stuff for my au:

Synth and Barb didn't join their partners for the wedding because Barb kinda has a kingdom to run and Synth was one of the trolls left in charge of managing things while Poppy and her father were away, but also partially because they don't really know Bridget and Gristle and didn't think there'd be much point in going.

Branch was VERY affected by his brothers abandoning him, he held a pretty tough grudge against everyone except Floyd. His other brothers all just left without saying goodbye to him or acknowledging him, but Floyd took the time to let him know he cared and that he was only leaving because he couldn't handle everything going on. He was the only one to actually show he still cared before he left. Branch has a lot of trouble reconnecting with all of his brothers except for Floyd, they're on better terms. He IS connecting with all of them, and he still has a bit of frustration with Floyd, but he's just more comfortable with him because he's the only one who actually took him seriously when they were reunited and back before they'd split up. I'm not saying he hates his brothers ofc! But there's still a lot of baggage they all need to work through together. And his brothers also deserve to have a second to mourn their grandmother.

All of the returning trolls are a bit...startled by how the village has changed. Viva ended up growing up away from the pop village and lead her own, so she didn't know much about their history at all, and Branch's brothers have been in various places far away from the village, so safe to say none of them ever learned that there were other kinds of trolls out there. Poppy wants to write a letter to Barb and have her come back as soon as possible so that she can introduce her long lost sister to her new girlfriend. Synth is VERY surprised to hear that Branch has brothers, and excitedly rambles off about how he ALSO has a bunch of siblings to the returning trolls. He clicks especially well with Floyd and Bruce. Branch's brothers are a bit surprised to find out that he has a boyfriend, especially one that's a prince, but they're very happy for him and do their best to make a good impression.

It takes a bit of time for them all to adjust. Viva bunks with Poppy for the time being, and while Branch's brothers did come back to visit, Bruce is the only one who's decided not to stay in the village. He does kind of have a wife and kids after all! But he promises to visit them as often as he can. Send letters and such. The rest of the group are staying with Branch for now, but aren't sure if they want to live in the same house forever.

Viva is given a few days to adjust before they make any big announcements about her. After all, she's still processing a lot. The village is very happy to hear about the fact she's returned, and the trolls that lived with her also came to live in the village. No reason they shouldn't all stick together after all. Before Bruce leaves they have a family dinner together, if Poppy and Branch are brother and sister now, no reason for Branch's brothers and Poppy's sister can't be siblings either. Poppy is very very happy to have such a big family now.

I want to do something with Velvet and Veneer. I know they did some terrible shit and all that but considering how the trolls made peace with the Bergens even though they'd spent the last however long eating and basically torturing the trolls, and Barb kinda tried to convert all other tribes to one genre and caused some mass destruction...idk I feel like the siblings should get another shot under close surveillance or something (code for I love them and I want them in my au but not in a jail cell you feel me?).

dr. zale brandt is like. a very weird and sad little thing. she sort of has had everything she started blow up in her face, and it’s a running joke that she will always be second best at whatever she tries—always missing the mark by juuust that little bit. so when she finally gets her PhD she’s very. cold. she’s used to people not treating her seriously and acting as though she doesn’t really know anything. so she oozes insecurity and is extremely stiff and impersonal with literally everyone. she hasn’t gotten sick yet at this point (technically she WAS still sick, but her symptoms were much less noticeable to her), so she doesn’t have that chip on her shoulder yet, but…yeah. very cold, very professional, very lonely, and very insecure. also a workaholic to the point of it hurting her health. but despite all that she’s incredibly passionate about her work. she, at her core, wants to save the world. that’s a lot for one person to try to do, but zzz is a post-apocalyptic society and she wants to do what she can with her own life to set things to rights for everyone. (this is also why she gets in trouble with authority so much.) so, she does a lot of research on ethereals, which are nightmare fuel because they’re people that have had their humanity painfully stripped away from them by getting exposed to too much ether. before she joined section 6, she was doing work to both better understand how to fight ethereals and how to potentially reconstruct the person they once were. this directly relates to harumasa’s disease, so tbh he’s probably aware of her work even before she joins section 6. (his disease deteriorates his heart, lungs, and ether aptitude, aka how long he can be exposed without turning into an ethereal. canonically the oldest someone has gotten before suddenly and painfully turning into an ethereal is 26. most die in childhood.)

in terms of the two of them working together, harumasa is a little instigator that likes to poke at people for fun. zale is extremely quiet and closed off, but gets assigned the desk next to him. cue poking and prodding her trying to get information out of her without divulging his illness. and there’s a point where he ends up having a nightmare in front of her, and that’s when he realizes that she’s actually pretty gentle when she lets her guard down. they get paired up a lot after that because they work pretty well together, and he actually trusts her enough to talk about his condition. and then SHE gets sick, and he’s the only one she talks to about it because he understands what it’s like. she’s also very snarky and once she loosens up enough to banter with him it’s like they grew up together they get so close, yknow? and haru is, imho, the member of section 6 that tries to make sure everyone is taken care of fairly the most. so he sees her struggle to integrate and takes it upon himself to chat with her. he would be the guy who invites the kid that sits alone to his lunch table. that sort of thing.

in my au i didnt really want to make dexter like, a Bad Guy so he doesnt harm animals. he instead channels his anger out into drawing, painting, sewing, taxidermy, and bone collecting. he has a lot of hobbies, but theyre not really things he enjoys. really, hes mostly passionate towards taxidermy and bone stuff only because its animals and animals are very cool to him. otherwise he just uses things to keep him from doing anything dangerous. he doesnt care but he tries his hardest to and he knows if he went too far off the deep end then his mom would have to witness his arrest and he loves hismmom a lot so.. he wouldnt want her to see her own son be put in jail and stuff.

now with dexter i feel like hes very bad with people. he hates people but he wants them to stay because he wants to feel worth something, he wants to feel normal and like them yet he feels like everyones inferior to him. hes constantly conflicted with everything he thinks.

so when streber sticks around, puts up with anything he says (besides the time streber snaps because he jabbed too far), jt messes with him. it hurts his head.

i feel lik3 dexters super troubled because he doesnt know if he should stay quiet to avoid the weird looks and people leaving or if he should create a mask and be super chatty to make sure people stay. regardless,,streber sticks no matter what. he tries to learn as much as he can about him. he tries to show dexter he cares

he doesnt know why he feels like this. but he tracks people. he tracks and analyzes people down to the smallest detail, and he knows dexter is troubled. in a weird way he sees himself in dexter. maybe not in the same exact way, hes not in the same reality dexter lives in, but he knows what its like to be troubled. to be conflicted with every single person around you, because you dont know what to do or say or think or feel and it sucks. and he wants dexter to feel atleast,, safe with him. he knows dexter is lonely and struggling. he wants to mske him feel safe.

over time dexter gains some trust with him. sometimes they go looking for dead animals in the forest to collect the bones. streber hates doing it, but he wants dexter to be happy around him, so he goes throuhg with it.

Wow, it's been a hot minute since I was last here in an interacting, not lurking way, but let's try this again!

I'm Jade, a 30-something year old mama and storyteller cleverly disguised as a grown ass woman. I have trouble with consistency and I hate being in charge, but I promise I can tell a good story.

Things have been gradually getting to be too much over the past ... 8 or 9 months or so? I have a bad habit in which I'll set reasonable goals and schedules for myself, get bored at the difficulty level, and start increasing the intensity of too many things, too quickly, without giving myself time to adjust to anything properly, and then wonder why I feel like I'm drowning. It's something I'm working on.

So yeah, I'm a mama first, always. I started working part time at my youngest gremlin's preschool, but I'll be backing off that a little bit soon, so that should give me a consistent day to create.

My original stories that I first started telling everyone about? They've changed so much! I have a different structure, now, and so many potential new stories to write. The same premise, though - A world in which a small portion of the population has superpowers. A country in which you either register your superpowers with the government so that you can use them legally (sanctioned), or don't register them, gaining the title non-Sanctioned, and risk imprisonment or worse if you're found out. And of course, the theme to the series is action/thriller romance in which the villain (or vigilante) gets the girl, because heroes are nice and all, but at the end of the day, don't you want someone willing to burn the world down just to see you smile? I'll go on more about it in another post, don't want to make this one drag on too long.

Oh! And I started a business, bc of course I didn't have enough I was trying to do already, but it's already registered and legal and everything, even if I don't have my own website up yet. I've been learning about how to put websites together, so if you have any questions about that, feel free to drop a question to me! Once I get over the imposter syndrome, I'll be wanting to work with authors, especially romance authors, and I know Squarespace best, but I know a lot of "best practice" stuff that's helpful for any platform, too.

for sure knows a thing or two about burning yourself out and people pleasing. he is like... one of the most real, genuine guys at nrc. he's naturally worried when you come to class looking nearly dead and everytime he texts you, inviting you to heartslabyul, you either never respond or tell him you're busy. once he finally finds out you're overworking yourself (he may or may not have walked into your dorm without asking. it's not breaking in if nothings broken...!) he makes you rest. let's you tell him about how you feel as he gets you water and texts riddle of his whereabouts. he'll sit on your bed and praise your hard work while you lay down with a cold towel on your forehead. (sick or not, i love cold towels they're so soothing). trey would for sure try to cook an actual meal, but he's a baker NOT a chef so we'll see how that goes. he offers to help with your work and doesn't leave you alone until you've eventually fallen asleep after eating and talking to him. he'll be calling you later and will check in on you the next day, though.

RUGGIE B.

another one who knows about people pleasing and overworking. though, he tends to overwork himself to "survive". he does everything for leona and has a hard time taking a break for himself... he's so used to the hustle, you know? he notices right away when he sees you outside in PE and you're about to faint. asking to take you to the nurse, he instead takes you back to his dorm where he feeds you something and basically forces you to tell him what's going on. ruggie isn't a liar when it comes to these things and he tells you how genuinely proud he is but you've really gotta take care of yourself...! tells you stories of how many times he's gotten in trouble or hurt because of how tired he was from constantly working. if you're working to impress someone who genuinely does not seem impressed, he'll tell you not to sweat it. he feels like leona doesn't appreciate his hard work sometimes... but he's used to that; he just wants to let you know that he understands you. after he eases you into rest, he leaves cuz he's a busy man; but if you ever become distant or start neglecting yourself again, he will start using FORCE. (￣ヘ￣)

AZUL A.

i'm like 99% sure everyone here has had experience with overworking themselves oh my god. anyways, azul takes a while to notice because he's oh-so-busy, but he realizes when you come in to work one of your shifts, you look like you're about to collapse. of course, he sits you down and gets you something to drink and asks if you're sick; then you tell him how hard you've been working on school, relationships, AND work. azul overworks himself frequently, he understands. so, he let's you off the hook. he'll let you nap in his office and if you're hungry, he's calling jade (floyd would tire you out further...) to bring you something to eat and to refill your drink. he's willing to offer some words of advice and make sure you know your efforts aren't going unnoticed. he warns that you must take care of yourself more because you can't just expect to work hard and not stop for a break and then be completely fine?! that's dangerous! nobody would be pleased to know you've almost killed yourself over some homework! (that sounds so weirdly worded i am genuinely sorry) he reminds you that you can't expect to always help others if you can't help yourself. eventually you'll burn out so bad you won't be able to recover.... or that's what it feels like. he's also sort of a people pleaser so he knows it all too well.

JADE L.

jade suspects something is up when he doesn't see you drop by the lounge much anymore. he thinks it's weird but it's certainly none of his business... until floyd won't stop complaining that he can't find you anywhere. apparently it's difficult for ANYONE to get ahold of you. one night, late late LATE at night, floyd shakes jade awake and complains he thinks something is wrong with you and he can't stop thinking about it. jade, fed up with this, went to go find you... find you up at 4 am, studying for a test... that would be taken in a month. you had a whole month to study and you're doing it all in one night? he has to actually lay you down to get your full attention, then you tell him you're afraid to disappoint. of course, it's early in the morning and jade isn't fully awake so there's a silence, interrupted by youe stomach growling. so, he instead brings you a snack and some water, makes you consume it all and then lays you down. he promises to talk to you about it all in the morning so he can properly reassure you that you're doing enough. he ends up falling asleep on your bed with you but when you wake up, he's gone but theres a covered plate full of food just for you. at school, he stops you and asks you how you're feeling before handing you MORE FOOD and going to class. he's a busy man but he shows appreciation in his own ways.

VIL S.

vil notices the physical differences easily. you've been ignoring epel, rook, AND him for quite a while and epel was acting out because of it... or so vil thinks. so, he scouted you out after class. he notices how tired you look and the thinning of your face... what's going on? vil takes you to pomefiore and interrogates you over a nice meal. just you and him. when you tell him, he gets soft. he scolds you lightly for your behavior and mindset; you don't have to do all of that to impress anyone. you need to take care of yourself so vil takes you to his room, runs you a bath, and takes care of you. he'll do your hair if you let him, he'll apply his favorite skincare onto you and hold you in his arms. he whispers to you sweetly how he recognizes your effort but wants you to stay safe.. how sweet. he walks you home and puts you to sleep, even burning a calming candle to put you to bed. the next few days, rook will be showing up after classes to check on you and bring you something to eat as well as new lotion or whatever vil sees fit. when he's overworked, he likes to be pampered but this was about you; it's your turn to be pampered. good job, (name). you're doing great.

i just checked the post and it's quite saddening to hear this T__T there are a lot of authors who pour their hearts and hours to create and post on this platform and seeing someone use AI to make a story instead of writing one themself actually makes me a little, you know, demotivated WUSHHAHAHA

i mean hear me out, using AI to create something isn't necessarily bad. however, if you use it (as in use it and then claim it as your own) (i literally also cannot tolerate the use of AI AHSHHAAH), then that's a very different story. i don't want to sound like a know it all or a show-off (or pabibo in tagalog bc i literally don't know the right term for this in english 😭😭) but whenever i have a lecture in communication (OVERHSARING TIME WUAHAHHAH) my prof always says to this to us. moreover, she's not someone who's strict about using AI engines like ChatGPT (she actually encourages us to do so), however, please see her explanation as to why she allows us to use AI in our projects!!

in her words (not exact, but the gist of it is here IWHAHJA [she makes sure to tell us before every meeting so it's practically engraved into my mind rn WUHAHAJAJ)

'i don't mind you using ChatGPT to write your papers, but you should know how to use it responsibly. by responsibly, i mean use it as a guide to helping you, not the other way around [the engine helping you instead]. you have the power to control the engine, but of course, don't let it control you. if you're having trouble writing or starting or concluding your paper, you can use ChatGPT to help you with that. but remember, the use of ChatGPT is to help you branch out your ideas, not create your ideas.'

of course, im not saying that the author using an engine was very wrong (i mean, to some degree, it definitely is wrong hahaha), however, i just hope that they know writing is crafted by your imagination. and if that imagination is encapsulated by AI, then what's the point of making stories? yes, writing is hard, it definitely is. but that doesn't give you a reason to just fuck it and ball WHAHHAAHHAHA writing is a lokg process. throughout your journey as a writer, you'll experience a lot of things (my whole life is an e2l 55k fanfic ao3 tumblr wattpad fanfic.com oneshot with writer's block atp), and you may also discover your own unique writing style!

i'll admit that at first, i did use AI and took inspo from other authors, but i didn't use AI/inspo just to post. i used AI to gather ideas, expand my vocabulary, and expose myself to fiction writing. and with those inspos/sample stories, i was able to find my own writing style that helped me in my success (AM I SUCCESSFUL?×?@(@(@ WHAHAHAH)

i was going to give him full amnesia but i feel nice SO. as a result of his overblot reaching a dangerous stage, yuhua forgets everything since coming to TWST

so he's. just as unstable as when he first arrived but possibly WORSE

and floyd is in fucking shambles (L tbh)

worse bc floyd never even properly SAID how fascinated he was w/ yuhua, or really. talked abt his feelings

so he gets kind of upset abt it at first (which is not a good first impression for amnesiac yuhua) because that's 8-9 months or so of progress Gone but like. azul and jade and some others are like "listen idiot you have this chance to make it right and start on a better note"

so while people work on a magical cure for it, yuhua is just compelled to follow floyd around lol

probably takes a few months (i wonder if floyd would bring yuhua home to the coral sea just to make sure his lil koi is still with him?) but!!! yuhua would get his memories back AND remember how floyd treated him during that time/how desperate floyd was lololol

Depression life hack:

Do you have trouble getting out of bed to brush your teeth? Or have trouble brushing your teeth in general? I feel you, brushing your teeth has a lot of steps. What if you could boil it down to one?

Consider: dry brush your teeth. This helps get the big particles out so they don't build up and create plaque and irritate your gums / cause cavities. This is honestly the most important part of dental hygiene, toothpaste be damned.

Take that a step further -or, backwards? Why should you have to go all the way to the bathroom if you're not gonna rinse? Just keep your tooth brush by your bed. Now you don't have to get up, it's right there and you don't have to deal with toothpaste or water on your face. If you can swish with water or something after to make sure all the loose stuff is out, that's good too. (I literally just swallow it)

Upping the game a bit: when brushing with toothpaste just spit it out. Don't bother with rinsing. I have special prescription fluoride toothpaste I'm not supposed to rinse out, and since I removed that step it's been SO much easier to brush my teeth. It takes a little getting used to but you won't notice it after a while. And ofc you can bring that to your bed too. Maybe keep a lil cup or trashcan to spit into.

Other options: alcohol free mouthwash (the fluoride stuff). If brushing is too much work, just swish some mouthwash. But also if brushing is too much work I'd recommend an electric. It's worth it, teeth are much more expensive.

Get a smaller toothbrush. Try a kid's toothbrush, they're smaller and softer bristled so it's easier on your gums and easier to brush your back teeth. This can help with texture issues.

Get some floss picks. If you think you can manage a normal roll, go for it. If not I highly recommend the picks. Takes all the stress and dexterity out of trying to keep the floss tensioned. (I'd suggest picks with a slightly wavy handle, the straight ones are a little harder to maneuver).

Final, easiest option: try to swish some water around after eating anything. It'll help remove loose food and neutralize sugars/acids. My dentist told me to do this (in addition to everything else) so it's a good fall back.

In summary: brushing your teeth is honestly really difficult if you're depressed or chronically ill and or disabled. There's no shame in that. So fuck the rules: brush in bed, rinse in the kitchen, floss at the dinner table.

Hopefully you can try just one of these suggestions to make things easier for you. You don't have to do all of them. In fact, that'd be completely counter to the point.

TL;DR

Dry brush, no water or toothpaste

Dry brush in bed

Don't rinse after using toothpaste, just spit it out

Same thing but in bed (maybe get a cup)

Use alcohol free fluoride mouthwash (or whatever you can get)

Can also be done in bed (again, get a cup)

If you can't do any of these, just rinse with water after eating.

Remember, anything is better than nothing!

You can get kid's (and some adult) electric toothbrushes for 10-20$. Try and make sure you get one that comes with the replacement heads in the package.

Alcohol free fluoride mouthwash is about 8-12$

You can get packs of 75-150 floss picks for like, 5$

I'd recommend sensodyne complete protection as a toothpaste bc it covers all the bases and isn't too harsh. It can be 8-15$ depending on where you go.

You should also try to change your toothbrush every 3-4 months, especially if it's worn down.
