hi! i just wanted to come on here again to encourage everyone to please please participate in the boycott against sm! this doesn’t just help in getting justice for seunghan, but also helps in addressing and advocating the fan parasocial relationships & bullying/mistreatment issues in the industry! please unfollow all official accounts on all platforms and avoid streaming any official content and music— here is a link of someone who made mp3 files of riize music for the boycott & for spotify users, there are podcasts with the boycotted music so that we won’t give any streams to sm! also please sign this petition if you haven’t already, and encourage other people to participate in the boycott as well!

as much as it may seem like sm had no intentions of bringing him back w the szn greetings announcement & removing him from under the riize list on their website, there is so so much progress being made with this boycott!:

- our efforts have reached many kpop stores internationally, all of which have decided to halt restocking riize merch! this also include subk which is huge considering that they have collaborated with sm artists before!

- constant trends between the hashtags on twt

- we’ve gotten the support of plenty of non-briize kpop fandoms & non-kpop fandoms (arianators, harries, swifties, beliebers, etc.)

- plenty of large influencers and creators on youtube and tiktok speaking on the situation! there is also the spread in recognition of the situation overall across social media with many videos (such as evidence of the bullying) going viral!

- we’ve reached the recognition of others in the industry, such as a tweet that was retweeted by leeteuk (an artist under sm) & a tweet by jae (former day6 member) talking about the situation!

- i believe pineapple manager also liked an ot7 post on insta?? but pls correct me if i’m wrong!

- drop of riize twt followers from 809k to 730k & riize insta from 4.2m to 3.9m

- the petition has over 260k signatures

- we’ve gotten many big and well-known news sources writing articles on the boycott and the bullying situation with seunghan as well as regarding sm and their treatment of their artists

- tons of korean news sources have released articles on the situation as well as the boycott and updates on it!

- the naver article that covered seunghan’s departure was taken down!

- recent events of ot7 k-briize joining the effort (lots of have tweeted about the hope they have for this!) and organizing a protest outside of sm on friday, the 18th!

- i believe there have also been accounts of people on twt seeing some knetz/ot6s attempting to delete evidence and/or admitting to what they did which shows that our efforts are reaching them! (PLEASE correct me if this is misinformation bc my sources are a few accts on twt!)

please let me know if i am missing any other points of progress and i will add it!

if you would like to continue to make a change beyond unfollowing official accounts:

- if you have twitter (x), please please continue to share the ongoing hashtags we have for seunghan, it is important that we don’t let them drop!

- ALSO!! do not engage with any official accounts regardless of what they post, it will defeat the purpose of the boycott!

- regarding ot6 comments, especially on wv, do NOT interact with them, ignore them! ignoring will help prevent any traction towards their comments, and help increase our efforts!

I had an idea I thought you might find interesting. Are you familiar with the inFAMOUS game series?

In the series, there are some unique power types that aren’t often explored elsewhere. I wondered if you’d consider incorporating some of them into your Elimitora project! It could be fun to experiment with creating new Elimitora creatures based on each of these powers.

Here are the lesser-seen power types I found:

Smoke Manipulation: Fumokinesis (from "fumus," Latin for smoke).

Neon Manipulation: Phosphorkinesis (from "phosphor," a light-emitting substance).

Video Manipulation: Digitokinesis (from "digital" and "kinesis").

Concrete Manipulation: Petrokinesis (from "petro," meaning rock).

Glass Manipulation: Vitrokinesis (from "vitro," meaning glass).

Hihi Xavi :D! The Infamous series doesn't sound familiar to me but I think I may have watched a playthrough of it years back. Because I've watched the video you've sent me and I do semi-recognize the character with the beanie! I have gave this some thought ( Hence why I didn't respond straight away. Wanted to think deeply of this! ). Admittedly am tempted to consider this, in terms of use in skill sets! Because, while this is an idea I have not gone further with yet ( Which reading your post made me go back to it ), there was a concept plan of wanting to set in attacking / supportive abilities that holds elements that could only be found in Eiluminias ( Think of it as special variants ). Like say there is a Glass equivalent of an elemental. Only these rare Eiluminia creatures could exist with these special elements ;w;. They were never intended to be common creatures to have these more special elements. Only rares. If that makes sense!

I've wanted Eiluminias to feel much more special. And yes I do want to very much take into consideration of your suggestion, as I would love to have "lesser" elements be explored! Because, while I do not hold the firmest ideas yet on these ( Heck, I am still not done with my attack / support skill list. Trying my best to make them feel balanced! Admittedly namings are kind of hard, as I am trying to avoid them sounding the same as other gaming medias TwT ) So in the end, yes I would like to give this a try but I need to think further into this! Esp with balancing! If it helps, these are the only available elements I have for now ( Elements found in Eiluminia only has not been named nor listed yet, as that is still a concept idea that I have not further explore nor decided on yet. You suggestion and ideas does make it tempted to recheck it tho! )! I did put the emojis next to them to make it easy to tell who is who ( Because I know my made up words will be confusing to most xD ):

I will admit that Belustia is a very true neutral element. No weakness, no strengths. I've always wanted just a pure neutral in creature games admittedly. Nothing super, nothing bad! Just my own wants haha >W< Admittedly I am eyeing on concrete and digital! Like... It really peeks my curiosity and how one would play with those :eyes:. The only game I know that use a Digital element is Temtem qwq. Concrete, Smoke, and Neon I don't think I see anyone use it. At least, not much c.c! Glass I do see often but moreso in fangames than official. Hm... I kind of want to give this more thought now and see if I could maybe proceed with this idea ya suggested >w< I appreciate it a ton! Eilimitura is still a work in progress as I am just one person and am still in the design collection phase first >W< It is my first game project and I want to make sure I do everything right! capstone update #1

TO REITERATE: I'm planning to produce a 30-min documentary film.

Hello, I'm finally here to update my blog! I meant to do this last week, but didn't... I was struggling to wrap my head around this project and what I'll be doing this semester.

I think I'm a little crazy for taking this on. Sometimes it feels like too much, but I certainly won't be quitting.

My first reality check was trying to populate the workback plan. It was a necessary step, but so difficult. I had to come back to it a few times to get it sorted out. I always feel like I'm overlooking something when I'm planning out a project, and I've never tried to produce something of this magnitude before. But I sat down with my workback plan again tonight and finally have it in good shape. Coming back to it has helped me process what I'll need to do, and I feel pretty certain now that I'm not forgetting anything. I also recreated my workback plan in Notion, because I don't think I'll be able to stay on track if I only look at it on Google Sheets. (The formatting... the lack of color-coding and other viewing modes... Nah, homie, I can't. TwT) I also gave myself dates to complete things by. I know I can work to a deadline, and now I have a ton of them. Isn't that fantastic!

Anyway, I'm really happy with my organization on this project now that I have all my tasks thought out, written down, and with dates. The tricky part now will be keeping the Google Sheet updated according to the Notion.

Right now I have a bunch of tasks marked as "in progress." There's so much I need to do in the next two weeks, mostly making lists of people and Instagram accounts to reach out to. I already follow a lot of accounts but I have not created a master list for myself to keep track of them all. Once I have my list, I can start drafting up messages to send to them, asking if they might want to participate in my doc, or could put me in connection with people who would. I'm kind of worried that I don't have much to show for myself, a presence, or a reason why they should trust me, that kind of thing. But I'll try it anyway.

I also need to draft emails/ send texts/ make phone calls to people I know, who said in one way or another that they might be able to lend a voice to my project. Cast out a bunch of lines and see if I get any bites. 🎣

Another thing is, I want to find videos on YouTube and Vimeo of the ʻOnipaʻa Peace March that happened a couple weeks ago. I wasn't able to go myself, but I'd really like to incorporate footage of it into my film. Maybe someone would be willing to let me use a few of their shots. If not a person, maybe one of the local news outlets. I also need to do some research. I have a playlist of some news clips about the Red Hill water crisis from when I made my 5-minute piece about it in Fall '22. But there have been updates since then, and I need to collect even more. I'm not 100% sure what or how much I'll do with it yet. But my creative process is 'collect all the stuff, look at and absorb it all, ???, get vision, create the vision'... so step one is gathering more things. :)

Also want to find more PDFs. Last semester, I found some studies and national news articles about Red Hill, pollution by the Navy/ issues similar to what's happening here, but my research topic was persuasion, so I spent the vast majority of my time on that. There's definitely more out there, and I want to find it because I'm thinking of using scans/ screenshots in my film.

Oh, and I'm planning to request titles from ʻUluʻulu by 2.16. Gonna try my absolute best to stay on top of the deadlines I've set for myself. LONG POST: FINITO!!!

You have the option of whether or not you'd like to see wips! Some people like to be surprised, some like to see the progress. Either way works!

I don't just do Powerpuff Girls and Super Mario stuff. In fact, I can draw other types of fanart too! Loud House (OCs and AU versions included), Kirby, Super Smash Bros, CRK (OCs for now), Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, etc. But I'm always up for a challenge, so if you want me to draw something from a show or video game I'm not familiar with, I'll do my best, depending on the fanart.

I'm not really good at drawing animals- but I'm not too bad at anthros. Please note I can only do half bodies, and wolves, foxes, dogs, mice, raccoons, and cats are the only things I'm good at drawing anthro wise. (Happy Tree Friends are an exception- I can give it a shot!)

1. I only recently mostly phased out of my Gacha phase because no one made satisfying enough videos. Those reaction and AU Crossovers videos used to go so hard thoooo!!! This is where I found my love for AU Crossovers and making AUs :D I always had very high standards for GC videos though which honestly probably saved me from being one of those questionable people who pushes the fandom's boundaries.

2. Still LOVE FNaF and fnaf fanartists have been saving my mental health these past few weeks after DSMP started falling off

“I can’t do this anymore!” Eunseo moans as her legs shake in pain, making the female fall on her feet. Namjoon shook his head and extended his arms in Eunseo’s reach, before scolding her lover who was currently lying on the floor, tired, and catching her breath. 

“You’re overacting, you’ve taken a lot of harder stuff in comparison. Get up and continue.” Eunseo scoffs at his remarks before sulking on the floor, “I can’t get up, my legs won’t work. I’m tired of doing another round, you’re too harsh.” 

Namjoon shakes his head, stifling his laughter before moving towards Eunseo, “This is why you shouldn’t skip leg day. Come grab my hands, let me pull you up.”

Raising her arms, Eunseo let’s Namjoon carry her up with little to no effort, before setting her down on one of the free bench presses letting her lower body rest. Eunseo expected Namjoon to sit her up and continue doing his own sets, instead, Namjoon kneeled in front of her to check on her legs.

With a worried look on his face, Namjoon looks over Eunseo fondly, with a sudden feeling of guilt seeing her struggle. “Are you really in pain? Have I been harsh towards you, love?” 

Eunseo shakes her hands in front of Namjoon in an attempt to remove the doubts in his head, “No! I swear it’s not your fault… Well, your workout is extremely hard in comparison to mine, but it’s understandable. I just don’t want to do another round, I don’t think I’m fit for this level of workout.” 

Namjoon stays silent, drowning in his own thoughts, before nodding them off. Immediately Namjoon stood up and removed his shirt, “How about you just sit there and you watch me workout. Seeing as you probably reach your own quota. I still have one more round, you want to watch me?”

Eunseo smirks at Namjoon’s words, “Love, I didn’t think you’d flirt with me in the gym of all places, but sure, let’s see you show off your skills in front of me, seeing as you’re so much stronger than me.”

Namjoon laughs at your statement, shaking his head in embarrassment, “It’s about time I flirted with you in a gym setting. We've been doing this for about a year now, I think we’re ready for a little bit of flirting.

“Shut up Joon, you can’t be hot, cute, and respectful all at the same time.” This time it was Eunseo who folds her flirty expressions at hold. Looking away at the view up front.

“You’re acting like you haven’t seen me topless, are you really going to be flustered everytime you see me looking like this?” Namjoon laughs in between his sets, as he takes a few glances over Eunseo, clearly looking away from him.

“You look good every time, it’s unfair. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to you looking so pretty in front of me like that, and shirtless? Namjoon I don’t think you know half the stuff your fans say about you.” 

“Oh darling, half of the tweets you send me are enough to convince me. I know what they are saying, and I don’t want to say it outloud, but I definitely enjoy some of the stuff you send me.”

“JOON! You can’t say things like that so casually! Think about my heart! I can only take so much from you” Eunseo groans, hiding her face in her palms, with her grin rising up her cheeks.

“I’m sure you can take a lot more from me. Why not have my whole heart while we’re at it?” Namjoon flirts back, causing Eunseo her own sanity, rushing straight to the locker room of the gym she leaves Namjoon dumbfounded and left in his own amusement.

In the new year one of the activities I want to start is blogging! I think it could be an incredible way to document my thoughts and also reflect on how I am feeling. This is going to be for MYSELF. If you want to read it, or ask questions- go right ahead! But what I post here is for me and not to impress anyone else.

But besides that, first thing's first-

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2022 was an incredible year in so many ways. Incredible doesn't have to mean good necessarily, either. Everyone says a year can change their life but for me especially, my whole life has been turned upside-down. Below is some of the major points of my year

-I graduated University with a Bachelor of Arts in May -I worked 3 part time jobs (if you count content creation) -We adopted our cute puppy, Antonio! -Spent over a month visiting my grandfather in the hospital while taking care of my grandma who undergoing chemo for breast cancer

The fact I was able to celebrate the holidays with my grandparents this year is a complete miracle, and I am so grateful for it. The end of 2022 felt somewhat normal compared to earlier this fall.

Nobody talks about the existential crisis you have after graduating university. Since the age of three, I have been in the routine of going to school. I wake up, go to class, learn, do homework and clubs, rinse and repeat.

For the first time in my life that isn't Summer vacation, that routine is broken, and as someone who actually enjoyed going to school, I heartbreakingly miss it! I was absolutely the band nerd in school, so I spent so much time in high school and uni taking part in marching band, orchestras, and other clubs. But nobody talks about how difficult it is to continue your hobbies outside of a school setting! It isn't like any company I work for will have a club band I can play in and I am afraid to join any community ensemble because I am not sure where I am going to settle down yet!

AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON FRIENDSHIPS It was so easy to see people at school; be with your friends. Your life and my life were on the same path therefore that was 90% of the social activity I needed. Now when I want to meet high school friends, it is an effort to actually plan and execute meetups, work with work schedules, etc. And don't get me started about college friends, where not a SINGLE ONE lives in the same state as me.

And despite all this free time since I wasn't fortunate enough to graduate with a full time job, I found it really difficult to do things without a schedule. I spent a lot of time alone in my room, with difficulty finding motivation to apply to dozens of full time positions, just to get rejected or not be selected after a few interviews. My mom always told me it wasn't what you know, but who you know. And very much to my dismay (because how could my mom be right??!?) she was very much correct. I networked with someone during one of my jobs and what would you know! I have a full time position starting this month. I am so nervous but also really optimistic and excited to get back into the schedule, make money, and blossom a career. Life never goes the way you expect it to, so the same can go for your career path as well! I still plan on staying connected with the part time jobs I have now, and of course my streaming isn't going anywhere.

SO LET'S TALK ABOUT STREAMING

At the start of 2022, I made a video outlining my goals for the year and what I accomplished so far. Unfortunately my goals for the year weren't met quite to what I hoped it would be, but progress is still progress and the main point of streaming is to have fun and share my passions, so I am still very happy!

In December of 2022, I also passed my 2 year anniversary of streaming! I am so grateful for the nearly 1.7k of you who follow my twitch! So many people have come and gone but I am so grateful for everyone who has taken the time, even if just for a second, to check me out. As the Beatles say, "in my life, I've loved them all~"

But the term streamer has also not sat right with me recently. SO... I need to fix that! I want to take content beyond streaming this year and become a *cue sparkles* CONTENT CREATOR! Which means... -I will make edited videos on YT and TikTok -More blogs like this and content where I can express myself in a different medium -More discord events and community interaction

I also really want to spend my 2023 making new friendships and strengthening the friendships I already have, and network and collab more! Especially in the second half of 2022, I have admittedly felt a bit lonely and isolated (though I am MEGA grateful for the friends who I do talk with and you know who you are). But I miss the amount of people I knew and saw in early 2021, when my streaming journey was just starting.

2023 is the year of..

-NETWORKING -Expressing myself in different ways -Challenging myself to step out of my comfort zone -Doing what makes ME happy That's my goals and my outlook on the future. To my future self- if you feel sad, or lost, or lonely.. take a break! Reach out to someone! Try something in a new way! Don't trap yourself in an imaginary box that you made, and don't be afraid to step out of that shell you locked yourself in once and for all. Take a deep breath and think to yourself- "Is this something that will be impacting my life in a month from now?" If the answer is no, take a deep breath, go on a walk, and reassess. But know it's ok to have your feelings. Future Niko is validated (and so are you readers!)

i didn't even comment on it but the new archon quest with dain was so so so good. and heartbreaking, as well. it seems to have brought more questions than answers, though. which makes me extremely curious for future updates. i watched this youtube video that explains everything we might have missed during the archon quest and my brain cogs are fuming. dainsleaf questioned why halfdan was able to keep his awareness after 500 years if he didn't have "it". what is this thing he talks about? is it part of the reason dain, himself, didn't turn into a hilirchul? how come the abyss mages and the lecturer weren't affected by the amplification? are they under the effects of a different curse? hilirchuls are said to have existed for thousands of years as they were shown during vanessa's rebellion in the manga. but in their description it is said their population increased 500 years ago which, as expected, matches the fall of khaenri'ah. the question is, if the people of khaenri'ah were cursed to turn into hilirchuls is there a possibility of the others being also from a falled or cursed civilization? apparently, the architecture of the upside down city isn't only similar to khaenri'ah but also to enkanomiya as well so that's something that could be related as well. anyways, the whole story addition was really interesting. even the part about way points and teletransportation. katherine hinted that she could use it so i wonder how all the contradicting information regarding these relates to the story. the symbolism of lumine's flowers and the dark pools left after the death of those hilirchuls were probably my two favourite visual scenes. the fact, they left their masks there as well... it's impossible to feel completely unshaken after seeing it. oh, and the purple text!!! someone (monoceroxcaeli on twt) actually translated the message that was scattered all over the chasm and apparently it says something along the lines of "the road to abyss, there's no easy way from earth to stars, ground that eats the sky, I wept for life, I lament death". which is dark to say the least. and some people have mentioned it could be related to mondstadt (moon city) and celestia since the text at the bottom of venti's statue translate from teyvat language as "gateway to celestia". so yeah, really curious about how the story will progress from now on now that it seems we're finally reaching somewhere. it seems it's going in a really intriguing and almost catastrophic direction!!!

I am wandering in the wilderness of tumblr. And discord and mastadon. Many pundits are proclaiming that the world will be a better place if twitter in fact collapses. For me it would bring true sadness and loss. When I joined twitter I found a joyful community of BTS ARMY. At the time I was “BTS curious” I liked their songs in Zumba and enjoyed their videos but through twitter I found a daily source of BTS updates, history, and shared enthusiasm. Not long after, Covid shutdowns arrived, ARMY twt became a home for joy, community, and friends. I am a person with a chronic, progressive autoimmune disease. My energetic capacity has diminished significantly in recent years. ARMY twitter brings me a felt sense of belonging and happiness, even when I feel stuck at home or not able to participate in activities like I used to.  Could Tumblr replace that? Or Instagram?  From here I don’t see how. And I hope we won’t have to find out. Borahae!

a few things:

1. despite not liking the creators of the dsmp anymore, I don't actually hate most of them. [the ones that are particularly unsavory fall outside of this of course] so all that I'm saying i truly mean in a critical sense towards the story, its also just all purely my opinion as someone who enjoys fictional and fantasy stories and who like criticizing works to see what it does well and what it doesn't do well

2. for clarification I'm going to use the c![name] to indicate when I'm talking about the characters. Don't get me wrong, I think its annoying too but its the only way I'm gonna be able to write this thing without getting something across the wrong way yknow?

3. I stopped watching the streams after November 16th, [save for one Techno one but I closed out after a particularly bad story beat lol] and so all information coming afterward is all second hand from either me seeing people on twt talk abt it or people dming me. All i really know is up to dream's imprisonment and some stuff past that.

4. This is mostly aimed towards the "main" story, so stuff abt the badlands, eggpire, and whatnot are briefly mentioned.

anyways uh, i'll try to be brief but also include enough information to get why i feel the way i do on some stuff across

A. Performances Alright obviously these people are all streamers, so obviously they might not be the best actors, and hell no one is even asking that of them. However, when you're telling a story that's based on the audio with the visuals kinda coming to a second, it's gotta be pretty strong. I will say, some of the best actors in my opinion are Wilbur, Tommy, and Tubbo. I would include Ranboo but I never watched any of his story bits or story streams so I can't say much. Wilbur and Tommy are excellent in selling their character's emotions and feelings, when I watch the stream I don't feel like I'm watching an rp but an actual thought-out story yknow? And one of my favorite Tubbo examples was in the Hog Hunt video whenever Techno attacked him, he sounded genuinely afraid and I believed everything his character was feeling.

However, unfortunately, not everyone is gonna be that good. And I'm gonna say it; Dream and Techno have to be the worst out of the entire cast. I understand Techno's whole character is this monotoned badass, however, when really emotional moments hit I feel like he never lets that fall, and a lot of intense moments just ring hollow. And I'm sorry but Dream's attempts at being intimidating leave me laughing whenever I watch them. It feels like he watched that one scene from The Marriage with Adam Driver and Scarlett Johannson and said "Oh this is what good acting looks like! Just yelling." His whole "I don't give a FUCK about Spirit!" speech isn't as great as people keep making it out to be. And whenever he tries to act coy when being a villain it feels like a guy reading the script for the first time, a bit like he's trying too hard. I have more problems with his character but his portrayal certainly doesn't help.

Everyone else is fine, and I don't feel strongly either way about a lot of them.

B. The "Lore" Okay first off, I can't be the only one who thinks it's silly that people are calling the dsmp's story "lore" when it's not, it's the fucking story. Lore indicates backstory to either the world or the characters, which a lot of the streams don't really pertain to. This is a really petty section but god it's a weird pet peeve of mine.

Other than the misusage of "lore" vs "story", the actual lore and world-building of the world are so lackluster that new elements can be introduced whenever and it often feels cluttered or not well thought out at all. And here's the thing, I feel like if the writers sat down just for a few minutes to establish world rules and general history, a lot of this could be solved! but so much is made up on the spot that it starts to feel like they're grabbing at straws to keep people invested, trying to reach that next high and intense story beat without actually earning it.

C. The Egg / Eggpire This is a pretty minor note since I was only invested in the Egg storyline for a little bit, but god it's so underused that it's almost embarrassing. Bad has provided this super interesting antagonistic force that's infecting the SMP, can control people, and who one of our main character is immune to, and it's just never used or even talked about again? Now I understand if he wanted to keep it to a side storyline only, however, to introduce this borderline eldritch creature and force within the world and then never have it dealt with is so weird.

D. The Writing Oh boy this is. kinda a big one. Now I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty obvious I have a bias for the Wilbur writing over the current team [that consisting of Dream, Quackity, and Tommy mostly]. I don't this his writing is perfect by any means, the characters constantly bringing up traitors got obnoxious after a while, and writing Hamilton but in Minecraft really isn't the modern Shakespeare or anything. However, I think his exploration of characters and plot progression was a lot more thought out and well planned, like he actually had two brain cells behind the story yknow? The current team I think fails to be as emotional or even impactful, things happened too fast and my god was everything drowned in angst for so long.

Don't get me wrong, you gotta have your characters face hardships to make them reach their goal believable, but some of the shit they put the characters through just felt like too much. From c!Tubbo's constant comparison to c!Schlatt [who btw, fucking ordered his death and kept him from his friends in a nation he felt trapped in] and on a side note, i kinda really fucking dislike the "c!Schlatt dad!!" au's or the au's where c!Tubbo inherits some of Schlatt's features, it would be like c!Tommy getting a c!Dream mask after his exile, it's feels so weird yet people eat that shit up for some reason.

But god, did c!Tommy get the brunt of it all and in retrospect after his final death, it kinda feels really fucking gross. Now obviously, I'm not trusting any of these people to write decent mental health representation, but c!Tommy's PTSD and how it was explored was just degrading. [Specifically the scene in that one Techno stream where he saw the final control room from the first war, and had a flashback / panic attack where he started calling out for c!Dream. I understand this is an actual thing people with PTSD will experience, but it felt so fucking stereotypical it got on my nerves. I actually had to close out of the stream because it made me feel sick, fiction shouldn't leave you feeling that way.] And don't get me started on how they basically reused the formula from the previous arc. [Problem introduced -> Tensions rise as things start to fall apart -> Big confrontation -> Exile -> Return from Exile -> Blowing up L'Manberg, again.]

And speaking of characters-

E. Character Arcs, or the lack of them In my genuine opinion, some of these characters' arcs are so disappointing. Especially c!Tommy's. I'm not one to believe that he was a "selfish" character or anything, however, his goals were simply set on his discs and maybe c!Tubbo, he didn't have much outside that. However, L'Manberg gave him something to care about, he gave up his discs for it and he fought for it tooth and nail, I think it taught him to open up to others and trust more. It was a great character arc for him to have, seeing him still fight even after his first exile alongside c!Wilbur, to return safely to the nation that he and his found family had built.

But then his second exile happened, and I feel like all of that was undone.

c!Tommy's exile genuinely pisses me off for so many reasons. It's not that characters can't have their low points after reaching a major change or feeling like they've "completed" their arcs or anything, but it's more of the fact that it seems like he's never going to heal that feels like a spit in the face, especially to people who might have had setbacks like that before. Progress isn't linear, sometimes things happen and you get knocked back down, it can take a while to get back up, but I don't think c!Tommy's character is ever going to be allowed to get back up. From c!Dream, who pretty much was a constant abuser in his life, killing him then reviving him, and his still fractured relationship with c!Tubbo, which by the way I have a had time believing they would still be friends after all that happened, it feels like he can never get a win and it's generally kinda a shit way to treat your characters who have been abused. Of course, not all abused characters are going to get happy endings, I'm not trying to dictate that they all should, but c!Tommy deserves one and the fact that it's so obscure feels shitty.

Side note: we still don't have a canon reason to give a shit abt the discs. Like I'm sorry but without some sorta connection to the MacGuffin why should we give a shit about him getting them other than "he wants them lol". Like hell, I would even accept the classic "they were the last gifts from his parents" or something, but we still don't have a reason.

c!Tubbo also lacks a fulfilling arc as well, from someone who started out as a yes man, he has progressed a bit into having his own interests first, but besides that sometimes his character makes me so. depressed. He's easily one of the most pushed around and hated characters within the story, all for being a kid who didn't know what to do and he's in the same vein as c!Tommy; these kids can't get a break. Also, his anti-violence beliefs morphing into the "lets kill c!Techno lol!" bit was so out of place and without proper build-up it was like. what. And now he's building nukes?? god c!Tubbo makes me so sad because he's kicked around constantly and never given a chance to grow.

Another small note, I also don't really enjoy c!Techno at all. Besides the previously stated reasons of lack of emotions when they're really needed, I find his character to be weirdly pretentious. He talks as if he's constantly been betrayed and hurt but I personally, don't see it? Like, I think one of the main examples was the Pogtopia vs. Manberg war, yknow he wanted to end the government but they just reinstated it after they won = c!Techno upset. But this doesn't make sense to me because why did he think otherwise? The entire time c!Tommy had talked about taking back their nation and starting again, so the fact that c!Techno suddenly thought there would be a sudden change is, to put it bluntly, kinda fucking stupid. I don't want to say that he "plays the victim" or anything because that feels a bit harsh, but his character feels so far up his own ass that I can't enjoy him.

I have a major grip with c!Dream as well, but that's getting it's own fucking section.

F. L'Manberg This is a quick note before we get into the, forgive me for this, endgame, of this entire rant, since the next two sections are tied together. But god, L'Manberg makes me upset because it feels like they gave up on it.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that it is supposed to be c!Wilbur's "unfinished symphony", the thing that destroyed a once charismatic and widely loved man, his attempt at power that utterly ruined him. But the fact that it just got blown up in the end after everything and left to rot felt like such a waste of time. From the first war, to Pogtopia, to even c!Tommy's exile, it all felt fucking worthless in the end, and the story is actively closer to how it was when it started now more than ever. I wished it was actually allowed to exist and continue to be a peaceful place in what is a chaotic world, but no it was just snuffed out because why dedicate to this concept of finding others you can band together with and feel safe. fuck that noise apparently?

G. The Villains Now villain-wise, I'm only talking about c!Dream [during the first war], c!Schlatt, and c!Wilbur. And believe it or not, this is actually mostly positive.

Now I'm not gonna lie, c!Dream as a staring antagonist wasn't bad actually, he posed a genuine and threatening opposition to L'Manberg, even if we didn't know his real intentions or motivations as to why he was against it. He's lucky in this sense because he didn't have to be good, he had to be passable. If anything, he felt more like an anti-hero than a tyrant or traditional villain, and my god do I wish he kept this theme going forward.

Now quick disclaimer, I don't like JSchlatt as much as the next guy, he's an adult man who should know better than to joke about some sensitive topics and act the way that he does. But the one thing I'll ever give him is that damn, was he a good actor for his character.

Now here's the thing, c!Schlatt wasn't particularly deep at all. He had no real motivations behind his exile of c!Wilbur and c!Tommy other than getting competition out of the way, had no reason to act the way that he did and yknow? that's fine. The reason why he worked was from his performance alone, he was actually intimidating. When he came onto the stream and was doing his typical bad guy stuff, it was actually intense to see what he would do. Whenever he would almost catch c!Tommy back in Manberg, whenever he would begin to pressure c!Tubbo, it put you on the edge of your seat and it felt like everything would change at the drop of a pen. He's a villain to be a villain, and this works out because he's just charismatic and well put together enough to make it interesting, even without the backstory or motives.

c!Wilbur however, is much more tragic, and the best villain of the story. He essentially was the "mentor turned evil" trope and it felt terrible watching him descend into madness, unable to trust barely anyone except for c!Techno and c!Tommy. Hell, in the end I think he still cared about them both, despite losing everything. Sure, he blew up L'Manberg, but there was still a smidge of the old c!Wilbur in there made everything he did feel melancholic. His death at the hands of his father after achieving his final wish was chilling, and something I still think about.

Until yknow, Ghostbur came back way too soon to let people feel his loss as a character within that world. And then he got revived, pretty much-undoing everything that moment meant for his character lol.

And then there's the worst one:

H. Dream. I'm going to be completely honest, c!Dream is one of the main reasons why I dislike the current dsmp stuff so much. Outside of his actions as a person, the way Dream decided to write his character as this overpowered madman of the dsmp really just. destroyed any intrigue that he could've had. Perhaps this is from my growing dislike towards him, manifesting into a bias towards his character, but god I cannot fathom why people try to insist he's interesting when he has as much depth as a fucking puddle.

And here's the thing, I'm not even entirely against c!Dream being a villain, hell I think he would've been great as an anti-hero if anything. Make him sympathetic but not through c!George to get your precious "DNF" points or anything, but show him actually caring about the people within the dsmp, including c!Tommy and c!Tubbo. This would make his rival status with them just a bit more complicated, sure they're enemies, however, he doesn't want to hurt or kill them, and there's still a level of friendship there that keeps them bonded when things get super bad. This could've been super interesting to see, the first villain of the story receiving a sorta redemption arc then descending into madness as he started to fixate on being a god. This is all how I feel personally, but god do I feel like it would've been better than his current character, and hell would've worked with how he was during the Pogtopia arc, before the war that is. I'm not trying to tell Dream how to write his own character, but there are so many other ways he could've done the madman seeking to become god rather then. whatever the hell we got.

Because instead, we got this power-mad asshole who does things... because he can? And that's one of my major issues: he tries to surround his character in mystery to make him "intriguing" but it's kinda like c!Techno, it comes off as pretentious. Not only that, but you cannot keep waving around this mystery of a backstory without ever actually revealing it. I know the story isn't over, but c!Dream is effectively at his lowest point, now would be the time to reveal his backstory. But no just keep it in the dark and keep everyone guessing, that's totally fun and not at all tiring and annoying. (sarcasm, if anyone needs it)

And back to his performance, he doesn't sell this aloof, cynical and strategic warrior that has perfected the blade or some shit, he comes off as some angry guy yelling on reddit. which i don't need to tell you, isn't intimidating. It feels like he's trying to have c!Schlatt's intimidation combined with c!Wilbur's depth, but instead he's like a little brother who's trying to hard to mimic his older brother and is kinda embarrassing himself.

but other then that i dont feel too strongly abt the dsmp lol

but seriously, these are the main complaints I have abt the story tbh, I could probably talk about more but I wont because man. this is probably gonna get me in trouble if any of the hyper-dsmp fans actually read it.

Hi again. About Do popularity during CB and Boss, I kinda merged my impressions on K-twt and I-twt, so apologies for the confusion.

I lost memories of some details already but what I remember about K-fans is that CB did chart higher than Boss on Melon. There are other music charts too but GP pay most attention to Melon so I cared more about it. CB got 127 music show wins too. Perhaps K-fans prefer CB to Boss like you said but overall (SK plus international), Boss still helped Do (whose high note video went viral among I-fans) and NCT with popularity. Boss MV got more views and reached 100m before CB and ppl love the concept the most (until MAW took over). NCT 2018 Empathy album sold better than CB too, tho it could be a natural progress as the group grows and NCT 2018 has more members than 127, hence more stans and higher purchasing power.

Btw, how come I forgot to mention Inkigayo. You're right. The purple haired and beret Do pics from fansites were from Do's MC gig and that exposed him to GP too.

And since you brought up the Grazia photoshoot, let me add Jae's love for Poetic Beauty concept photos. He chose the photos as his fave for Elle interview and even uses it as his ig profile pic. This guy prefers the softer, dreamier concepts. I have no problem when Jae played the boss and hot guy roles and I support anything as long as it's his own choice. He does look hot and in the same Elle interview, he picked Regulate album cover (kinda bosslike) along with T7S concept photo. It's obvious from his interviews and the way he acts tho what kind of aesthetic he like.
