Sone notes:

FFXI & FFXIV are excluded due to the nature of being MMOs- they are, quite literally, impossible to remake (And XIV is getting a graphical update anyway, so it's not like it needs one)

(FFXV & FFXVI are excluded for obvious reasons) (FFXIII/XIII-2/LR are also excluded for similar reasons)

By 'benefit from', I mean that the narrative/characters/world and general story experience would be enhanced due to modern tech/hardware and what they now do with it. For example, FFVII really benefits from the remake since there's a lot of things they can portray more subtly and delicately than they could in the OG (such as Cloud's hallucinations & memory issues and how other's react to it)

(And also for some of the older titles there are things in the writing that may have aged poorly- in a remake they could rework it to be more tasteful)

i've finally finished the silent hill 2 remake and now I don't know what to do with my life

it was everything i was hoping for. I even managed to get my favourite ending from the original game, so I'm even happier!

Pretty freaking fantastic!

#There was also the Mistery game by team Danganronpa #and Pikmin 4 #(I still have to play 3...)#Game boy alongside Wario Land & Superstar Saga would have been amazing announcements if it wasn't for the expansion pack #Metroid Prime was cool‚ but I think I will stick to the Wii version #and I'll be honest #I didn't care that much for Zelda TotK #But those three reveals were amazing #Not fully sold on Layton yet #since Azaran Legacy was kind of a let down & Mystery journey was straight up bad #But optimistic non the less #wonder who will dub the professor on Spanish since his voice actor passed away on 2020 due to Covid #R.I.P Jordi Varela #Katamari is one I was expecting to see after the remake of the first one so really nice that it's here #And I was not expecting Ghost Trick to make a come back #Now all that's missing is some Hotel Dusk remake to have the full set of DS detectives on switch #Nintendo Direct #Professor Layton #Professor Layton and the new world of steam #We love katamari #ghost trick phantom detective

I feel so fucking dead inside over this recent WoW fuckery but I have to say, going from the WoW mutual to the Squeenix mutual is not the direction I expected things to go

#remake's good too but god. the og is so classic #leon is a misogynist in it though </3 it was released in 2005 so some flaws #my first re game and probably still my favorite. it's just. it's so gooooodd #i love the cheesy dialogue i love the ambience i love the plagas i love that leon will roundhouse kick enemies #i played it on the wii and it dug into my heart and it will live there. it made me so excited about games and survival horror #watching streams/playthroughs of my favorite games again and again to relive playing them for the first time is so fun #i need to play remake separate ways dlc bcus i have not yet. i want to for Halloween but i have to finish baldy's gate 3 first it's SO LONG #my txtstuff
