There are real issues with space colonization (which are way too exaggerated by anti-space people, who seem to be a very vocal and numerous group for reasons I truly don't understand) but trying to transplant the issues of colonialism on Earth (with real people who are still suffering with it) to space is nonsense. I actually think it's kind of offensive to compare the real-life suffering of people right now and extend it to an argument of "we shouldn't touch asteroids".
And if life was found in some of the many worlds humanity will visit in the future, do you think the people involved in space would just want to bulldoze through it? After finding the most important discovery of all of history? If they found such a thing in say, Europa, they won't twirl their moustaches and say "hehe time to destroy the native life for profit", that place would be off-limits for eternity except for all the scientists who FINALLY found life in space. People have spend THEIR WHOLE LIVES waiting for it.
There's also the economic/environmental argument all the time... And cost of a rocket launch might sound huge on its own, but it's negligible compared to the daily consumption of the fossil fuel industry, aircraft or cars, I doubt that even in a world where we launched dozens of rockets a week it would approach anything beyond those. I'd also much rather prefer the resources that might be otherwise be wasted into building nuclear missiles or I don't know, advertising, to be used in things that expand our common knowledge and open the door to future opportunities.
In fact, if space is such an expense and we shouldn't do it until we solve our problems here on Earth, then what about things like international sports tournaments, they're so expensive. Should we suspend the World Cup or the Olympics? Should we close down art museums? They're so expensive. Stop digging dinosaurs? Close the particle colliders? shut down the telescopes? Why are you studying art, why are you writing fanfic, don't you know there's Problems to solve?
It reminds me of people who are angry about AI because "it's souless art". There are arguments and then there's whatever that is.

In Defense of Fanfiction (Or the perfect starting point for your original novel)
Fanfic gets a bad rap pretty much everywhere except Tumblr. Itâs misunderstood and misrepresented by its average works, seen as juvenile and cringey, or a banal point of contention between a famous person or piece of media and its fans.
Outside of fanfic that writes about real people, especially smut fics of real people, I support the art wholeheartedly. Fictional characters are one thing, but personally, caricaturing a celebrityâs life for public consumption and writing or drawing them in compromising content without their consent is a little weird. You do you. Donât like, donât read, as they say.
Fanfic is the perfect starting point for a few reasons:
It places you in a creative box and forces you to work within those constraints
It does all the worldbuilding and character concepts for you
It lets you write way outside your comfort zone
When published and receiving feedback, it boosts your self-confidence
It's incredibly flexible
Itâs practice. All practice is good practice
â
Behold your creative box
When I was little I had no idea the majority of fanfic was shipping fics. I always pictured and looked for canon-divergent alternate universes. Like, what if X happened in this episode instead of Y? What if this character never died?
Fanfic demands you work within someone elseâs canon, whether itâs an OC in the canonical world, or the canonical characters in an AU. These are like little bowling bumpers saving you from the gutter, but also keeping you on a straight-ish path toward the pins.
The indecisiveness of too many choices can be too intimidating when youâre first starting out. You want to be a writer but you have no idea where to begin, what genre to pick, what characters you want to chronicle, what themes you want to explore.
Even if it sits on your computer never to see the light of day, you still got those creative juices flowing.
Pre-packaged worldbuilding
Sometimes all we want is to get to the good stuff. Maybe I want to write a story about elemental magicians but Last Airbender already exists and I just want to play in a pre-existing sandbox. So I write some OCs into that world and have a free-for-all.
I donât have to come up with my own lore, world history, magic system rules and mechanics, politics, geographyâany of it. I get to just focus on the characters.
Even if youâre writing an AU, like say a coffee shop AU, you donât have to think about brand new characters, you can just think âWhat would M do?â and go from there. The trade-off is your readers will expect canonical characters to behave in-character, but I think itâs worth it.
Stretch beyond your comfort zone!
Do you hate writing action scenes? Go practice with a shonen anime fic. Need work on dialogue? Write some high-fantasy fic, or a courtroom drama. Practice a fistfight by watching fistfights and writing what you see, and do it over and over again until what you read makes you feel like you're watching whatâs on screen.
But beyond thatâpractice genres that you arenât super familiar with. If youâre new to fantasy, write fantasy fic. Or a mystery novel/show, thriller, comedy, satire, adventure, what have you. The nature of fanfic still gives you those âguardrailsâ and you can get some brutally honest feedback on how youâre doing.
And, of course, the realm of M-rated romance and smut fics. I havenât because I think I would die of embarrassment if I tried and I never intend to include sex scenes in my works anyway, but if you do want to, use the internet as your test audience. Post it on a throwaway account if youâre nervous.
Build that self-confidence!
The fandoms I used to write for are super dead, so itâs insane how I still get email notifications that so-and-so liked my fic to this day. Comments are as elusive as ever, but random strangers on the internet telling me they liked my work is a magical reassurance that my writing isnât actually awful.
Random strangers on the internet are, as we all know, beholden to no moral obligation to be kind to your little avatar face, or be kind to be polite. So a rando taking the time to like my work or even leave a positive comment can feel more honest than one of my friends telling me what they think I want to hear.
I tend to avoid the more present aspects of fandom like online communities, forums, social media, what have you, so I get a delayed and diluted aspect of any given fandom through completed works. Which means, in general, I get to avoid the worst and most toxic aspects of fandom and get to sift through positive feedback and critique.
Even if your fanfic isnât written with stellar prose, itâs fanfic. We donât expect Pulitzer-prize winning content. And if your work isnât up to snuff, people are more likely to just ignore it than put you on blast (at least in my experience, I never got a bad comment or a âflameâ in the old FFN days).
Fanfic doesnât care about the rules of published literature
On the one hand, try not to practice bad habits, but with this point I mean that your layout, punctuation, formatting, paragraph styles, chapter lengthâall of it is beholden to no rules. I get as annoyed as the next reader with giant blocks of paragraphs, or the double-spacing between pages of single-sentence paragraphs, but if the storyâs good enough I might ignore it.
Thereâs more than just straight narrative fics, though. People write âchatâ fics, or long streams of text and group chat conversations. The scene breaks can come super rapidlyâIâve seen fics with a single sentence in between line breaks to show the passage of time. And without the polish of a traditionally published novel, Iâve never seen a purer distillation of author voice in any medium more than fanfic.
All practice is good practice
Even if itâs crack fiction, or a one-off one-shot, or something meant to be lighthearted and straightforward and free from complex worldbuilding and intricate plots. It really helps break writerâs block when you can shift gears and headspaces entirely and you can get relatively instant feedback to keep you motivated.
Beyond that, the âguardrailsâ help you stay consistent as far as character growth and personality if you struggle with designing rich characters.
The most recent fanfic I wrote was just a couple years ago, for a dead fandom I didnât think would get any traffic whatsoever. It wasnât my original works, but the feedback on that fic gave me the kick in the butt I needed to get back into writing more seriously.
â
In short, I support fanfic. I may not be proud of my earliest fics' prose now, but I am proud that they walked so I can now run.

only halfway thru the new frieren episode i was almost tearing up because the theme of protecting each other and caring about life more importantly than winning is so poignant. not all the characters are human in species but once again the humanity is blossoming in frieren's story. i was so afraid they'd actually get killed last ep but i mean it's so funny now what was i even thinking. this is frieren. they won't kill unless it was really necessary.
the reveal that richter raised the platform not to make his fight with lawline and kanne easier but actually to protect them from denken's attacks was so good. the "magic is nothing if you cannot imagine it" line is so wonderful because i'm a big fan of magic systems that revolve around that logical "science-y" aspect of like. understanding how it will work in order to do it. (same reason why i love the magic in "world's greatest assassin".) laufen getting caught by frieren even though she knows it's a trap just bc she didn't want denken to get hurt was also so good. the reveal that denken didn't have a grander motive to be a first class mage beyond "i wanna go back to my hometown and visit the cementary there but only first class mages are allowed to enter" was so painfully human and so reflective of real life. it also strikes you because he was introduced as a high-profile, politically influential mage.
i love what denken says about not going out without a fight. i love that the episode ends in a fistfight for him. i love it when media uses fistfights and punching in such an emotionally-charged human way, beyond the violence, instead depicting it as some sort of catharsis really. because sometimes all you need is a good rough n tumble. in denken's case, it's his way of not giving up without a fight. i like that. i also like that this was foreshadowed by denken telling laufen to cut the tree down instead of trying to cut the restraint. "we don't have any mana" "neither do they". sometimes all it takes is to find a differently way to approach your problems and sometimes the solution is simpler than you think.
i'm a big fan of frieren breaking the barrier because she thought it was unfair to cut kanna (and by extension lawline) out of her source of magic, giving her an unfair disadvantage and honestly a handicap. it's a short part of the episode but it's so important, because it shows that if people are given the right tools and the accessibility, they can do for themselves what they want and need to do. i love that frieren is like "can you imagine winning against a water manipulating mage with water around? i can't."
i'm a fan of how the "basic" combat and defensive magic are depicted and treated as in this show. yes, people more on from traditions, but traditions are there in the first place. richter's explanation of magic history in their world provides an insight to how modern magic evolved from the foundations. but the foundations were still foundations for a reason. they made it a point with fern saying "frieren doesn't restrict me from spells" (even tho it was the setup for a small joke) that the point isn't to pick a side between tradition vs modern, but rather to learn from both and decide for yourself what you want to apply to yourself. the depiction of fern and frieren winning with traditional magic and richter and kanne overwhelming each other with modern magic makes it clear that the show isn't trying to preach to either side.
i also like the theme of "pursuing magic out for the sake of magic is enough". it's nice to hear that denken shares this mindset with frieren, because again he was introduced as someone influential and you'd think he thinks like he could use magic as a source of power. and that's the impression i got of him too from previous episodes, but a lot of first impressions of mine were proven wrong later and i'm so happy for that bc these characters have so much depth packed into them in so little time.
what else have i missed...

Iâve been enjoying the Wondrium course, âThe Birth of the Modern Mind: The Intellectual History of the 17th and 18th Centuryâ much more than I expected to (based on the title). It certainly helps that the lecturer is extremely passionate about the subject. He also has a thick Jersey accent which makes it feel a bit like being lectured to by Danny DeVito.
But what really enraptured me about the course was its focus on how historical peoples thought differently than us, through the lens of how ideas we take for granted today were first introduced.
For example, one might think it obvious that, ideally, the pursuit of philosophy (as in literally âthe love of knowledgeâ) and intellectual pursuits should be with the overarching goal of bettering the world. But that wasnât a given, necessarily, before Francis Bacon who pioneered and championed this idea. His views became central to the later established British Royal Society, which formed a backbone of intellectual pursuits in England to this day, and likely plays a large part in just why this philosophy is deemed central to the sciences to the point of being self evident (at least, again, as an ideal).
Now, the reason Iâm interested in this beyond basic curiosity is that I write historical and fantasy fiction. One goal I have when writing other times and places (real or imagined) is to capture or at least suggest and invoke a different thought process from our own. So this course is very useful in understanding how early modern people (in Europe) thought but also by extension how to create other, fictional ways to depict a different thought process. One of my favorite quotes already from this course, paraphrased, is that if we were sent back in time to a totally foreign, perhaps ancient era, weâd probably grasp pretty quickly what the rules for survival are. Like, how to make a living. Or how to not piss off the powers that be.
However, why everyone is doing what they do, how they think about the world, what basic assumptions they take to be self-evident and immutable, might be harder to grasp. For example, why do they simply accept the divine right of kings? Or that a deity makes the sun rise and set? Because they just do. That might be quite hard for a modern person to reckon with or accept.
(This particular question is quite close to my heart because I once disagreed with my Classics advisor about whether weâd get along with Bronze Age people if we ever got the chance to meet them. My advisor stated that ancient people would be utterly alien to us. Perhaps all she and I really had was a failure to communicate nuance, but I was baffled and outraged by the notion. Ape mothers with their babies have been able to recognize and on a basic level, identify and communicate with human mothers holding their babies sympathetically. Both understand they were mothers with babies and bonded over this. Youâre telling me that I, as a fellow homo sapien, couldnât communicate and understand a fellow homo sapien from a mere 3,000 years ago?? However, if the nuance instead was, âYou could figure out quickly how to work within their society but youâd struggle with the rationale of the why of their society, it would be utterly alien to you.â That I would much more readily accept.)
Anyway, I highly recommend this course, especially for fiction writers who want to capture and understand that the way we think has evolved (speaking for the predominantly âWesternâ Anglosphere) and by extension, how to understand and portray other more archaic forms of thinking.

re: outgrowing AkuRoku, I think the biggest thing is⊠how to phrase it⊠itâs not just the obvious age problem in and of itself, but rather that the way fans were reading into their interactions in KH2 (when it first blew up) ended up being completely off base?
That is, to say: AkuRoku is fundamentally completely out of characterâfor both Axel and Roxas alike. Itâs based on a version of the characters that simply doesnât have any basis in their actual selves, and so there is a major sense of âhe would not fucking say thatâ-type incongruity whenever depictions of it are still encounteredâagain, age stuff notwithstanding. Iâm not trying to make a moral argument here but a character based argument. I would actually also argue that part of this is also wrapped up in XemSai, which is also an outdated take on those respective characters for similar reasons.
Thereâs a whole web of character interactions and past fandom interpretations which were extremely popular for some time that just donât have any basis in reality now, so to speak. To elaborate:
Back during the era that KH2 released in, people were going absolutely nuts running with headcanon-heavy interpretations of the characters based on an extremely limited scope of canonical knowledge about them. We knew basically nothing about anyone in the Organization circa KH2. Character ages werenât necessarily as obvious back then, so a lot of people just sort of went with the popular narrative and assumed Axel was a teenager around Roxasâ age without really giving that idea any critical thought. People with shipping goggles glued to their faces further decided to interpret Axel and Roxasâ emotionally charged interactions in the same manner as they did characters like Sora and Riku.
Meanwhile, itâs not terribly apparent that Axel and SaĂŻx have any connection beyond just working for the same groupâand most people see a hot boss interacting with his hot right-hand man, and make a ship out of it.
If the series had stopped with KH2 and we never got any further information about them this would have been all well and good, but, well⊠then we got more context.
Basically, KH has a shipping meta, and the meta changedâbigtime.
Days comes out, and we get context that tells us Axel is hanging onto his relationship with Roxas and Xion as a way of coping with his deteriorating relationship with SaĂŻx. We get to see what real homoerotic tension in KH looks like between Axel and SaĂŻx; we find out that SaĂŻx has no actual loyalty to or affection for Xemnas, and is in fact overly preoccupied with whatever Axel is doing to the point of being a massive harassing prick to him and his friends over it.
As for Roxas, itâs made strikingly obvious that Axelâs relationship with the kid is one of a mentorâa significant portion of Days is devoted to seeing Axel more-or-less raising Roxas, along with Xion, and explaining basic concepts to them in much the same manner as you would a young child. Theyâre both less than a year old, after all.
Some liken it more to a family-type relationship and say big-brother while others say dad-like, but no matter which way you shake it itâs very clear by days that the tension in Axel and Roxasâ relationship in KH2 is simply not romantic in any sense of the word. A lot of it actually lies in their relationship with Xion, whose presence had been erased by KH2âs time, but the psychological effect of her presence still lingered.
Add to this the context of BBS up through KH3 giving us a much more intimate and in-depth longstanding history between Axel and SaĂŻx, and there you have it. The character development meta has effectively rendered AkuRoku obsolete as a ship.
So I donât know if saying one has personally outgrown it is necessarily even âcorrectâ so much as that the series itself thoroughly debunked the entire basis that people had for it in the first place. If you respect where the characters are now, outgrowing it is the natural response. The only people still hanging onto it at this point are by default hanging onto an OOC, even shallow, interpretation of the characters.
Maybe some people hate that things changed. I do often see people talking about how they liked Axel better in CoM, or the Organization better in KH2âbut KH has always been a series where the characters develop significantly and show different facets of themselves over time. Personally Iâm much more energized by all the new material the series has given us since I first fell in love with it in the 2000s, and the way its characters have surprised me and become so much more fleshed out as people⊠but some people are more apt to cling to popular fanon and nostalgia until the day they die, I suppose. Well, they can do what they want.

â a broken record
characters: aventurine/you, the ipc, original planets & characters, xianzhou alliance (mostly mentioned)
notes: 3.5k of a beast! Hello, hi, as Iâve mentioned before our mc has a prewritten history and backstory which will be revealed as the story goes on, hence the shifts of perspective youâll come to see as you read & as I write. Second part of this chapter is an example of this. The storyline begins linear but this will be distorted as the plot goes on. Hsr characters and ipc doesnât have full of revealed role so Iâm taking creative liberties and adding planets, systems and characters when I see benefiting the story. I hope I do the characters justice and you guys enjoy this as much as I do:) love yall bye<3
songs: Too Sweet, It Will Come Back, A Dramatic Irony
i. it will come back
The corporation has its eyes everywhere; but not all those eyes belong to them.
It is a well guessed and partially accurate fact, that their arms and limbs, eyes and noses spread far and wide, recording every instance big or crucial; watching intently to plan their next move.
The IPC spreads far and wide, beyond stars and planet systems many don't even know the existence of. But as there is a price to everything, their range comes with its cost.
His heels echoing on the stone pavements, Aventurine knows of the strategists and analysts the corporation has working under them. Just because he is yet to meet one in the flesh does not make them any less real, though thatâs where the rumors seem to hint at. An urban legend at best, exceptional people all in their own field, always watching, observing, recording, collecting information.
The rumors start after this part, where their loyalties lie.
It is something not many care about frankly, everyone has their reasons to work forâ or under the IPC, itâs not up for others to judge why someone would willingly work for them, harvesting data for them; nobody knows for certain whether these analysts travel from one location to another, or stay stationed at certain spots for long periods of time; do they like to watch planets burn and shackled, or are they prisoners of the corporation via the extension of someone dear, with hostages and deals oneâs forced on; all these questions and more nobody dares to ask around.
As people stare at him, Aventurine walks towards his target, the classy looking pub across the street, the best and most prestigious in the area, known for its delicacies and safety, or so the people of this planet think.
His outfit is the same, the flashy peacock holds his head high, a smirk adorning his face, eyelids low, he is well aware of the attention he gathers, as intended., Ggo on, keep staring, a voice inside him says.
Like anyone else in his line of job, he didn't give much thought to those rumored, but now there is a spark, and his eyes intently roam the place as he enters, hat in one hand, he keeps close to his chest.
There are signs for those wandering eyes.
Or so the people whisper about the urban legends. No one sticks out exactly yet, those kinds would not end up a myth if they stuck out like a sore thumb.
It was pretty much the same with the history of IPC and how it gets the job done, their tactics and course of action always following a system, even with the risks taken, the gambles taken into account, there was always a formula, a pattern that followsâ then he decided to take a look at some records and found out interferences happened.
The why of it remains a mystery as of now, the how does not take much; they hold the information, it is up to them how many cards they lie on the table, how much they keep to themselves and how they name their price. A little rebellion as much as they can afford maybe, is it their conscious or just selfish desire, or to feel that they hold the strings above all; he is yet to find out.
Eyes on his target, he makes his way to the secluded booth, greeted with enthusiasm laced with a little fear. Not many people of this planet know of the outworlders traveling beyond stars, only those who rose to their respective ranks are given access to such information after all.
The arrival of IPC is both something that sent them into frenzy; excitement of the âwhat-ifâs, fear for the worst case scenarios. They don't need to know of the fates of those erased from the maps to get that survival instinct kicking in.
Eyes lazily gazing over the marshall and the gambler, you take a sip from your drink, allowing the ambiance of the place to take over.
A delightful tune to your eyes, no hungry gaze locked on you for once, a decent cocktail by your hand and a job almost done. The planet itself isn't too advanced but more or less up-to-date with the systems surrounding itself; or the ones in charge are, which is a great deal considering certain systems and planetsâ situations. Better to have some sort of an idea than to jump in blind. The gamblerâs interactions seem to near its end, still managing to captivate the small crowd around himself until the very last second, flashy smiles and dazzling gestures. From the air around him and the happy but reluctant face of the marshall, you can safely assume a deal has been struck between the planet and the IPC, one can only hope it wonât bring destruction and grief with it, or that all life will cease to exist by the time that comes; with the IPC, one can never know for sure, when it is resource-rich planets they intent to use and mine.
Sweet tunes of the piano and bass remain vibrating in the air, a cello and a small set to keep up the rhythm. The little gathering dispels yet not all of them leave, scattering around the place.
He arrives by your side sooner or later, still making sure to take his time and talking with few others he mustâve seen worthy of their word or to kill time somehow. By the time the gambler sits by your side, you let your finger dance over the rim of your glass, half of the whiskey already gone, faint notes of its scent lingering in the air.
Aventurine tilts his head to the side, beginning with a line not too daring but equally natural and tame; nobody wants to scare people away within a few words, and he has plenty of time before he is expected back in the headquarters of IPC.
instead of a reply, you grace him with a smile and your fingers wrapping around your glass.
Taking your smile as a sign to keep going, he takes the seat next to you, resting his forearm on the counter. Faking a gaze at his clothes, âIt seems I must've overdone it.â he says halfheartedly, in question. The voice of a man who knows all too well what he was going for, a sheepish smile that feigns innocence, fully aware of the cheap acting itâs putting on. Warming the atmosphere, creating an air of comfort and ease, friendliness and truce.
âCannot say for sure,â you hum, âup until now youâve had everyoneâs eyes on your person,â your fingers relax around the glass, âwhich is more or less how the usual crowd operates, you only happen to beat the others to the quota today.â
He listens as you speak, noting how you talk in sync with the music. As primitive as the planet might be, the access to data was plenty and right under his palms, yet such small details are lost, he wonders if the music lacks lyrics or if they play it here so, just to bring out the conversations happening.
âWell, lucky me, or how else could I find myself a spot near yours truly?â he exclaims, both of you aware how cheap and easy the compliment is.
âI doubt you would have any struggles.â you say as you bring the glass to your lips, taking a small sip of the ashy drink. As true as it is, he takes a step back, filling the space with a smile instead.
Do you find him so charming that you would allow him to draw near any other way or have you noticed how he stands out among the rest as wellâ your spot here at the bar does not have the best of view but anyone with a slight curiosity could notice it was a certain class he had a meeting with prior. Maybe it's the difference of status you mean, that his meeting alone would be intimidating. Yet it isnât enough of a reason to justify this possibly, this particular establishment isnât one anyone can waltz in, hence the reason it was chosen for todayâs meeting.
Humming to the melody, you take another sip. âHow do you find the establishment so far?â you inquire and at your question, he chuckles. âI see, I see, I shouldâve held back a little, maybe leave the hat back at home, huh?â
Only at his words you seem to notice the hat by the counter, your fingers leaving the glass to play with its rim instead, feeling the fabric and the details adorning the garment.
âI wouldnât know.â you say, closing your eyes, âBut speaking for myself, Iâm quite fond of the combination so far.â
Silence falls over for a while as the music continues.
âWhat brings a lovely person such as yourself, alone at the end of the workweek, to a place better enjoyed with someone else?â
Unnecessarily long, his brain jabs at him, but he doesnât care, from your reactions, you seem to enjoy the rambling and the coyness.
âExactly what youâve said at the end.â is your reply. Nails hitting against the glass, you draw out a melodic series of clanks. You follow the rhythm well, he notes, with recognition and following at hand, it is no difficult feat to speak in sync, allow the music to swallow and put your words into spotlight.
âPerhaps the most prestigious place around here, and a little pretentious in the eyes of someâ like a certain face I happen to be avoiding, but thatâs where the charm of it lies, wouldnât you agree?â you change the topic and bring it back to where he left, giving him two options, two different roads to take.
Is it the ex that is pretentious or does he find the location as such; he has a feeling the answer to this remains âbothâ.
âThe ambiance manages to be intimidating and capture a warmth to it, too.â he says, âa troublesome ex perhaps?â Why pick when you can have it all, he is willing to take it and where itâll go, until you put down the stop sign.
âAnd delightful melodies all around, truly a safe haven at times.â you continue his words. âNot really, just his own person, blue hair to match his soul. It often felt like, with his own goals set in mind, ambitions and beliefs, what other people thought to be pretentious was nothing more than a misconception frankly.â you sigh.
âAnd yet, too much to deal with at the end of the day, hm?â Aventurine asks.
With melancholy on your face, you only close your eyes and nod with a hum.
âYou remind me of him.â your words catch him off guard, a lightning bolt down his spine, he finds himself straightening up in his seat.
At his sudden reaction you hold back the chuckle that's by your lips, âwith all the contrast you hold to him, relax,â until you cannot, and giggle, âit seems Iâve gotten rusty, my apologies, I was trying toââ you ramble off, unable to finish your sentence.
Cute, he thinks, and another part of him finds it impressive how despite it all, even when words seem to escape your grasp, you still manage to speak in rhythm.
A new song begins playing, with a slight change of tune and color, making Aventurine raise his head without noticing.
âHave you ever thought as if some songsâ music can resemble a person?â Your question pulls him out of his bubble. With your chin resting against your fists, you stare at him with big, shiny eyes. The âhow so?â rests on his tongue, âIt can depend on the song, and the person, Iâd assume.â he plays it safe. âHow do the lyrics to this one go?â
You let out a hum in sync with the music again, you mustâve heard it plenty before, or just like it to a certain degree.
âI wouldnât know.â
You say it matter-of-factly, like a kid stating they like ice cream.
The initial surprise wears off and he allows another smile to bloom on his face, unable to rid of his furrowing brows and the confusion still lacing his beating heart.
His eyes quickly go over the place and he cannot spot a single musician in sight, just an old looking gramophone by the bar, behind the counter, jolting by itself at times, as if giving out its final performance. He could swear he saw a small batch of musicians when he entered, they mustâve taken a break perhaps.
âWhoeverâs behind it must be an excellent composââ âhoney, you make this so easy.â Your words glide off with the melody, yet something about it sticks out, poking at his ears, something in his guts tell it is distorted.
Yet you keep smiling at him, almost a dreamy, singsong state to your person.
âWhat is it that catches your attention to the music here?â He hears you speak, eyes looking for the musicians he swears were there several system hours ago.
Swinging slightly to the melody, he knows better than to not keep someone waiting.
âHow it brings out the words spoken by whom youâre speaking.â He states, like a kid answering for a pop quiz theyâve been memorizing for all week long.
âAnd how it drowns out anything else from the outside.â You complete for him, âthat's the main reason this place is often sought out by a certain class.â
He has noticed it too, of course, every planet primitive or advanced, always have their ticks and tricks to separate classes and to feel important in their little bubbles.
Eyes finding yours, Aventurine finds your expression to be distracting, you should know better than to smile like that, naive yet sharp, pure yet knowing, holding the secrets to some sort of concept he does not even know the existence of.
He weighs whether to speak next or wait, but it seems you wonât be making any moves until his begins.
âIt mustâve been difficult to compose pieces with such a certain goal set in mind though, Iâd be delighted to meet the geniuââ âOh, how I wish we too had lyrics to accompany our songs just like yours beyond stars.â Your exclamation cuts through the air like a dagger.
What youâve said registers a bit later than heâd prefer but his face pales before his consciousness gets to work.
âOh but you didnât know, did you?â Your voice tone hasnât shifted much since the moment he has met you, but he begins to find it grating, how you seem to enjoy toying with him, to the best of your abilities.
âNot many outworlders do, none at all, if we are being frank here.â
âAnd why is that?â Aventurine asks you, glasses pushed to the bridge of his nose, his demeanor a tad more intrigued.
âNow thatâŠâ you begin, leaning towards him slightly, âI truly donât know.â
Hands clasped before you, you take your eyes off him as if this is just some casual date between citizens of the same village.
âBut I know what your lot says, that this is a primitive planet at best, just happened to be lucky and advance in certain areas.â
This much information at your hands, you must be among the ranks of government officials. It does not come as a surprise to Aventurine that the Marshall would bring along more than just manpower to an important meeting, determining the destiny of countless lives.
âIt is only fitting that the art here has evolved to the form it once had when life was anew and the people had nothing but fire, stones and one another, walls of the caves to draw on, piles of wood to set fire to.â
He takes notice how you avoid using the word âdevolveâ, you mustâve seen something in this turn of events that makes it different to what it used to be, possibly more than just the state of your species.
Not so long after this rundown that you take your leave, still humming the same song from before, Aventurine finds himself wondering what meaning have you attributed to itâ and by extension, to him?
And by the time he is back on the ship, preparing his report, his mind begins to forget about you already.
It is unlikely that fate will cross his path through this planet again, reading its name in future reports will be the most at best. The songs however, take their places at the back of his mind, playing over and over when he has just lied down to take a moment,
An interesting detail, indeed, he thinks. But the question remains: was it left out deliberately, or truly only known by the natives of the planet, unable to be reached with no interaction nor contact? Sloppy work or is something bigger at play?
Ii. a dramatic irony / lâinverno
Luofu is ever changing and eternal, as it ever was, just as its citizens are.
Yet today is not one of those days, today, your countless days of watching, noting, and occasionally drinking tea, pays off; the anomaly is on the move, and so are abominations of abundance. Posing the picture perfect threat, as they are meant to be, you wait to see how fruitful this one will turn out to be. Planting seeds often results in disappointment, for most of them require constant care. Itâs the matter of collecting those that can stand on their own that enrich oneâs wealth.
The anomaly that was supposed to become an abomination themselves stand between the people and the abominations of the stage, one fist clenching, other readying the makeshift weapon, eyes going back and forth, telling those they once swore to protect to stand back.
It is too early to celebrate but you think a nice dinner in Aurum Alley to treat yourself after the day comes to an end would not hurt a soul. Whispering small words on what to do and not, âhey didnât we keep dental records back in the day as well?â, silently entering in and typing in the name of that lost warrior to their system⊠such things shouldnât necessarily earn you a pat on the backâ itâs not your fault the people have grown slow and dull with the days of peace they are born into. A tea against the artificial sunset wouldnât hurt a soul, and it certainly wonât hurt the financial resources of the IPC though.
Your job, though what it entails is often unclear, is no rocket science as the people of the blue planet once said. Itâs where and how you plant the seeds of suspicion that matters, how you goad them all the while making them feel the ideas were theirs to begin with, just a little nudge toward the right direction, no big deal there.
Focusing back on the present, you go over the expressions people seem to carry. Despite the fear in their eyes, the people watch the ex knight with hope, chests rising high because they have faith theyâll leave this place alive.
Yet something still stinks.
You have left the âhowâ of the ex knight managing to live out like a regular knight, stranger occurrences have begun to appear at a rapid rate nowadays, got everyone in a frenzy, even the IPC, which, in and of itself is a great deal of success. With the path of Akivili under the spotlight once more, the horizon seems a little wider for you; creating discordances within the flow of events now that their attention has been divided.
You return to the scene before you and notice how the fist does not only clench but seem to hold, then you recall how the time forsaken warrior jumped right into the abominations as they picked out the innocents lying on the groundâ not a distraction but a set up.
Setting up the stage before the grand finale, a knight defying time and logic, you can see in their eyes and body how the rumored impulsive nature has evolved, shifted into a new path, bringing along with it a technique unique to its time and person.
You watch as the lights go out and the show starts. It lacks the elegance it was rumored to carry but youâd not be surprised, this is something borrowed, something learned, without their old master, there is no longer a correct way of applying it yet they still play it like a violin, pull the strings and trap the abominations in, one by one, three by three, they try to attack but the knight deflects faster than them.
Then taking a pause, steadying a step back, they look back and tell the people to evacuate the space. As you watch people hurriedly go all around, desperate to help in some way, one running off to alert the authorities, your eye catches a string not shining like the rest, positioned oddly.
In the shadows, nobody sees, and it the crowd, nobody notices you moving.
Crouching down, you pick it up and place how the rest seem to be angled.
Satisfied when you see the golden, light-like shine return to it; a glance at the knight and you see them move, enduring the hits and swinging out the makeshift bow, performing like a violinist and radiating trust with every step. Nowhere near their master yet but quite on the way and more than enough.
By the time the backup arrives, the young swordmaster of ice and soldiers behind him arrive, you take your leave, pulling up your hood, you bring a hand over to your face, letting it sit and feeling the change.
The Alliance seems to be doing well under the general and from the looks of it, it will continue to do so. The nearing presence of the IPC wonât hold as serious a threat as it may to other planets.
The representatives of the company donât seem to notice your presence as you walk past them and toward the alley.
Among their ranks employees with duller and duller senses, one might even be hopeful as to think the downfall of the corporation will begin shortly.

Some of my Electra headcanons (exhaustively long LOL)
My mental image of Electra takes VERY heavily from irl US train context, which I largely explain here.  I very much tend to make Stex characters into reflections/parodies of real industries and politics vs some independent train society.  Itâs more train Hetalia with the kid playing them acting as the government/railroad authorities.  Iâm prone to sidelining or outright chucking canon out the window in favor of realism for a lot of things (especially since the real life thing is often more nuanced and interesting).  Which leads to many⊠almost hilariously contrarian preferences for them (though they arenât that incompatible with canon portrayals).Â
Iâm actually not that consistant on how I picture many aspects of the character.  The variety of depictions in canon is part of their appeal.  But the following are things I tend to do consistantly
-I use they or he inconsistently between posts.  Honestly I see Electra as a pretty neutral character in my mind and I donât see them as caring much about pronouns. Â
-Electra was always a trial/exhibition unit and genuinely doesnât remember life outside public scrutiny.  Basically a train child star.  Situation akin to Amtrak testing X995/X996 in the 70s or the X2000 and ICE 1 tours in the 90s.  Basically going around the country on publicity tours and trial runs (where possible- which isnât many places beyond the Northeast Corridor).  They eventually go into regular service on the NEC and just become another one of their class, but tend to be its public âfaceâ.
-The race depicted in canon is basically a trial of different engines.  Racing isnât Electraâs main career (or anyone elseâs), theyâre just normal trains in their countries selected for the event.  Electra just works normal regional trains, downgrading to commuter trains later in life and maybe freight work depending on how sci-fi our timeline gets. Â
-They have poor boundaries and social issues from not really being around other engines or working in normal situations early on.  They donât tend to get into deep, attached relationships.  Ironically, theyâre actually very outgoing (almost too bold a lot of the time) and VERY affectionate.  They endlessly crave being cuddled and held and pet, and once they feel safe around someone it goes from âplease pet my headâ to âyou have free access to my butt nowâ in no time.  It generally fades with age, but they have a lot of weirdly childish tendencies (for better and worse) ala Michael Jackson for similar reasons to him.Â
-Personality-wise, I tend to make Electra a lot warmer/hotter than most others.  A lot more outgoing, surprisingly approachable, and someone in constant motion, but also a lot stronger willed, pissier, erratic, and downright mean.  Mentally I always think of loud, fast, snarky northeastern transit/rail fans who shit talk EVERYTHING (but also secretly want it to get better).  Mainline electric trains in the US are just so synonymous with a string of big cities known for being loud, fast, and/or abrasive that I tend to mentally associate Electra with varying shades of their stereotypes. Â
-Iâm generally very sympathetic to Electra lashing out and throwing tantrums because well, they DO have a lot hanging on them and considering the pressure that would have been on them then and now, trying to look less like a backwards embarrassment to the Nationals and justify their existence to a government who could care less about themâŠ. itâs a wonder they arenât pelting the preservationbait choo choos with tourist railroad flyers, telling them how ugly and unglamorous the main line actually is now, and hijacking the show for an extended rant on who REALLY got wronged in US rail history.  They have their own feelings dismissed in favor of short-minded populist pleas and romantic sentiment time and time again and that can lead to them getting bottled up and exploding on people. Â
-Electra actually becomes pretty reasonable to deal with when not stressed and agitated and people are working with, not against them.  They tend to be domineering and smug, but are a lot calmer and can be reasoned with if you actually have a rational conversation.  Physical touch or talking about non-transport interests are easy ways to soothe them.  They can be pretty fun to hang around if youâre like minded and can withstand their personality, theyâve seen and know a lot and can go on and on about things they care about. That and train gossip⊠they know so much damn train gossip from being in areas with so many connections from elsewhere and being physically in so many places.
-I lean heavily into them being a âstereotypical liberalâ and being treated like one because I think it proves a lot of points about rail electrification politics in the US.  Others act like theyâre whiny, entitled, and out of touch⊠but itâs something that really is practical, is popular almost everywhere else in the world, and USED to be pretty common in the US too.  People will make fun of them saying âcivilized society is where you can walk out and buy nice rolls and pastries at any corner store!â and âwe should do VAT and just pay employees to begin with instead of having tippingâ.  Iâm not very consistent on what basis I give them, but basically all of them are super European because there arenât really any US-based companies making them later in the 20th century and uh, it shows. Â
-Acts more like a urban transit fan than typical foamer, constantly going on about logistics, fictional subways for places like Cleveland, going on and on about the economic merit of electrifying lines, figuring out whether a Deep Level London Underground train would fit in one of Muskâs stupid car tunnels, and crying about the trolleys vs âomg big boy!â. They just do not care about the romance of steam engines or fallen flags or how luxurious 50s sleepers were, just screaming at the state of electrification and public transit in the US over the past 70+ years. Â
-When compared to subways, they get REALLY offended⊠on behalf of the subway.  Electra is genuinely very defensive about being electric and standing with other electric trains in the US due to their history of government and corporate obstruction.  Even âlow-classâ public transport is closer aligned with their needs than anyone on the uncivilized unelectrified high iron out west.  They know thereâs a high chance they get demoted to commuter service in New Jersey and arenât above anything.  Theyâre not even hostile towards freight service- they know theyâre bound to get drafted into it eventually and would be good at it, they just get pissed at how backwards the big Class I railroads are and how they perpetually get in the way of electrification and their fellow Amtrak comrades. Â
-Bonus: yeah Electra will joking call anywhere not electrified âuncivilizedâ only half-jokingly.  Leading to hilarious declarations like calling Ohio and Texas âsavage wastelandsâand vigorously defending cities like Baltimore and Philadelphia.  I mean, theyâre basically immobile in that 90% of the country so can you  really blame them? Â
-Pretty much all trains probably hate cars to some degree but Electra REALLY hates cars.  Electra has probably been victimized by cars the most of the main cast, government investment in highways was one of the main dooms of electrification in the US, and highways were never expected to be profitable vs Amtrak.  Oh they HATE cars on every fucking level and think they are Moloch Incarnate.  Even comparing them to Moloch vs Satan is a very old anti-car messaging thing because they burn things and early car accidents disproportionately killed children.  Buses are on thin ice.  Planes are grudgingly accepted as a necessary evil but a more humanoid Electra wouldnât fly unless there was no other option. Â
-Make various whines, whimpers, chirps, hisses, screeches, and buzzes akin to actual electric trains.  They are not quiet and actually make a lot of distinctive noises.  Electra is one of those incessant hummers, which is cute at first but gets grating after a while (a lot of things about them are this way).  Their cooling fans are also fucking LOUD, especially when set in older periods.  I think most if not all the 80s-era engines I associate them with sound like vacuum cleaners.  Iâm inconsistent on how cold tolerant they are, but they tend to be more vulnerable to overheating vs being too cold.  Traction motors make plenty of heat, ESPECIALLY with old dynamic brakes that basically are resistance heaters like space heaters. Â
-Itâs something Iâm very vocal about but I have hilariously contrarian physical preferences for Electra vs⊠almost everyone else.  My mental default is that theyâre short and very cute, but also unambiguously an adult.  MUCH denser and beefier than most picture, electric engines are not âfast but weakâ, they tend to be compact and very powerful for their size (and often end up becoming mixed traffic later in life).  I wildly oscillate between Koffi Missah and 90s-era Mykal, who look wildly different other than the above two things but I love both of them visually for different reasons.  Koffi has that MJ/Prince look to him and cute boxy appearance that matches the irl AEM-7s used then.  Mykal has the soft face and curvier silhouette that resembles the generic image of more modern electric engines⊠even heavy freighters tend to be very smooth and âcuteâ vs American-style diesel ones.  Thereâs also the weird parallel between him having the kind of soft, smooth, flat features a ton of black guys have irl but are weirdly pretty rare in media, which matches how electric trains are everywhere but largely ignored by train media.  I tend to draw Electra the latter way more because itâs fun and I think the combo of âidealistic yet weirdly averageâ is super fitting. Â
-âpassenger gearedâ Electra looks more like the above, but can be âfreight gearedâ and suddenly turn into uh, 2013-era Mykal. Not as fast but actually very capable on heavy freight service, especially on steep inclines (VERY common crossover for electric express locos irl).  Electra generally shifts more to freight service later in life. Â
-Older Electra mellows out a lot and is much sweeter and gentler.  Smooth, handles the Freight like theyâre all carrying eggs and fine china, very efficient and doesnât move more than they really need to.  Still VERY firm when pushed by others, and pretty snippy and testy, but a lot calmer with a lot less pressure on them.
-Little visual things⊠Iâm very consistent on Electra having deep brown/black eyes (though Iâm equally fond of them being bigger and heavier lidded OR strongly almond shaped).  I see them as having basically no body hair and probably not much of any on their head either, not even eyebrows/eyelashes.  They actually wear falsies out of necessity and just like getting fancy with them.  Probably due to some nebulous autoimmune condition they keep under wraps. Â
-Very in tune to electronic music (mostly favoring older 70s-80s era stuff), appreciates subtle differences between various synths and tones and has a very good sense of pitch.  Quickly falls into pretentious prog rock territory, they love their weird time signatures and microtonality and questionable concept albums.  But donât you dare insult disco around them.  They might be discoâs biggest defender.  They think listening to âstupid meat and potatoes troglodyte rockâ from the time is the real insult.  They also listen to a lot of weirder world music and like it the more authentic it is. Â
-They downplay their interest and abilities in visual art but are genuinely really good at bold, graphic stuff and makeup. They genuinely enjoy a lot of modern abstract art most people hate and take even the most pretentious money laundering pieces at face value. Â
-Electraâs kind of a snobby coastal urbanite but I tend to make them a lot more down to earth than most others.  The kind of trains theyâd work on were decently nice but not really fancy (ESPECIALLY vs older passenger trains most other characters are associated with).  Theyâve been weirdly sheltered due to their upbringing but are just too closely associated with regular regional and commuter trains to be fully out of touch.  Theyâre a lot more utilitarian in associations than steam excursions or whatever UP corporate/anachronistically pre-Amtrak passenger train Greaseball runs.  Yeah Electra assumes people know more about art or music history or public transport politics than they probably do, but theyâre also the type whoâll explain that kind of stuff if you donât and broadly support public education in general (because more educated people tend to vote for the kinds of politicians who help trains like them lol).  Kind of goes full circle where theyâre seen as pretentious⊠but a lot of what they support is just the norm in Europe, even in countries that arenât that rich. Â
-I have a weird amount of eating-related headcanons despite them having no reason to.  So apply these to a more humanoid setting.  I think they go from noticeably hungry to weak and exhausted VERY quickly, but also get knocked out by overeating, so Electra eats smaller meals very frequently.  They also just have a sensitive stomach in general, itâs partly why they hate flying.  They have a lot of food intolerances and a system prone to upset.  Definitely lactose intolerant, doesnât handle high fat well, probably has issues with legumes and specific vegetables and some random artificial ingredients.  Not terribly picky based on taste/texture but comes off as fussy because a lot of things will just genuinely make them sick.  Itâs stuff that can be managed with home or over the counter remedies, itâs just really annoying to deal with.Â
#stex#starlight express#stex electra#headcanons#itâs honestly funny how much people donât use railroad realism with this character specifically#because it leads to a lot of very different and interestinf depth

Hellooooo I hope your day is good? Have an ask!
Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Spread the self-love! <3
Whoo, my first ask! And from the exceptional and lovely @zenaidamacrouras1, whose fic Monoclonius I'm re-reading right now and loving just as much as the first time. An all-time fave, really, with just the best, sexiest, nerdiest Bucky and the sweetest dad Steve. Check it out if you haven't!
But this of course is supposed to be about *my* fics, so let's get started.
Five Favorite Fics That I've Written:
History Repleating (Or the Proper Care and Feeding of One Steven Grant Rogers), Modern AU, Shrunkyclunks, kidfic
Summary: Captain America!Steve receives a letter from Dr. J.B. Barnes, Brooklyn Historical Society. Except not quite that J.B. Barnes. This leads to Steve and Bucky having a meet cute via Bucky's work as a history teacher. Smut, fluff, and a smidge of angst ensue.
Comments: This one is, IMHO, the best fic I've ever written. Which is not to say it's good, exactly--your mileage may vary--but I don't think I'm ever going to get to this place again. It was winter 2022. We were all just re-emerging from lockdown. I was in the process of caring for my sweet little corgi girl at the end of her life, and I just needed some joy, you know? Something fun to look forward to. I feel like I channeled a lot of those emotions, that grief, into the Steve in this fic. Though it's not a sad fic by any means! It's full of bad jokes and sarcasm and sweetness and found family and people just caring for each other beyond reason. Bucky here is a bright light that comes into Steve's life at just the right moment, that allows him to believe that he could have a real future with someone to love. I really needed to hear that right about then, and so, as Alexander Hamilton sings, I wrote my way out. For that reason and many more, this will always have a special place in my heart.
Last Exit to Brooklyn, Modern AU, Shrunkyclunks, SoulMark
Summary: When Steve Rogers emerged from the ice, he wound up not only in a whole new century, but also with a brand-new soul mark. Knowing that the person he was destined to be with might be just around the corner made it easier for him to settle into a future where happily ever after was a sure thing. Until the Romanian drummer of a 'popular in Europe' heavy metal band, and freight car of personal baggage, come crashing into his life...
Comments: This fic is a confluence of so many things I really, really, really love. Soul mark AUs, for one. I looooooooove those. But I only wanted to write one if I felt like I could bring something new to the table. Once I hit on this particular idea, I knew I had to write it. Also, Tommy Lee!Seb kept me up nights, friends. I loved his look in that so much. As a teen, I had a whole hair metal phase. And it was a fun way to pay a little tribute to Seb's Romanian heritage, so... anyway. I particularly adore some of my Romanian OCs in this--two of them being not so veiled versions of Nadja and Laszlo in What We Do in the Shadows, LOL. Feeling kind of weird about tooting my own horn here, being Canadian and all (Sorry. Sorry. Sorry?) But anyway, they were all really fun to write, even if I think the fic ended up being a little too long and more angsty than I expected. A good thing? A bad thing? You can decide for yourself. ;)
Cut Him Out in Little Stars, Medieval AU, kidfic, arranged marriage
Summary:
Two Houses, both alike in dignity In fair Venora, where we lay our scene
Three years after a brutal, bloody war that saw their formerly friendly queendoms at odds for the first time in history, Prince Steven Rogers of House Grant seeks to solidify the peace between Lehigh and Venora through an alliance--marriage with Prince James Barnes of House Buchanan, his childhood friend turned unexpected enemy. But after years as the Fist of Hydra and a long recovery from brainwashing and torture, Bucky isn't in a place to marry anyone, let alone someone he doesn't even remember. Stubborn to the core, afflicted by tragic losses, and still half in love with someone who might only be a memory, Steve and his family journey to Lynbrooke, the capital of Venora, to attempt to end the tension between their queendoms, and perhaps heal his wounded heart.
Comments: My least-viewed fic by a wide margin, but one that I really love. Playing with the big tropes can be so much fun, and arranged marriage is one of the biggest and messiest. I also rewatched Seb in Kings right before writing this, and it started as a crossover between the world of that series and the idea of arranged marriage. But eventually it took its own path. I have a total soft spot for the Bucky in this one. Probably the most broken I've ever written him. I shy away from Winter Soldier recovery fics--love reading them, will never write one myself--and this is the closest I'll probably get to that. One of the reasons it's close to my heart is because I feel like they really earn their happy ending in this one.
A Slaying in Scarlet, a LOTR Mystery
Summary: On the eve of Aragornâs coronation, Legolas and Elrohir are charged with investigating a brutal murder at the Citadel.
Comments: My AO3 account is split into two eras. From about 2002-2010-ish, I was heavily involved in the LOTR fandom, specifically writing Legolas/Elrohir, but also a few other pairings, including some OOC pairings along the way. After that, I went off to be a romance writer for a little while (and yes, I'm going to shamelessly plug my Stoker & Bash mystery romance series, because I'm fucking proud of them.) Then watching FatWS knocked me for six, and here we are, all Stucky, all the time. All this to say that my early LOTR work, I am certain, is not good. I have not re-read anything in ages, nor will I ever, most likely. But it was in writing those fics that I found a bit of my voice, and they gave me courage as a writer, and so I couldn't leave them off this list completely. This one is a Sherlock Holmes type deal, because I am also obsessed with mysteries. Hopefully it stands up a little bit. Buyer beware.
A Place to Rest and Remember Yourself (In My Arms), Shrunkyclunks
Summary: It's 2015, and Steve is living in a post-publicly coming out world. His every move is scrutinized in the tabloids and on social media, he's still wrestling with life in the 21st century, and the paparazzi never give him any peace. Making friends who aren't co-workers is practically impossible, let along dating. His solution? Have a regular, no-strings 'arrangement' with one of Natasha's honeypots. Bucky is a former spy and adventurer who used to work for S.H.I.E.L.D., but left for *reasons*. Having just gotten his heart ripped to shreds by a traitorous ex, he finds the idea of a discreet, 'with benefits' arrangement with his teenage-years crush very, very appealing. But you know what they say about what happens the minute you stop looking for love...
Comments: I wanted to write something quick and fun and smutty as hell for Stucky Week 2023. Instead... *sighs* You'll note that this ended up being 18 freaking chapters long. Why am I like this? I wish I knew.
One of my fic-writing missions is to give Steve Rogers the ending he deserves. The MCU did not treat him or his PTSD right--this is well-established in both fandom and a ton of metas more insightful than anything I could ever write on the subject. But where I feel like I maybe can address this a little is in fic. My aim here was to just spoil Steve rotten. To give him the literal world back, in the form of a Bucky who has serious wanderlust. It was also so much fun to play with Doctor Strange and the whole Sanctum Sanctorum stuff, Layla and Marc, Darcy of course, Nat and Sam. The 'love shield' Steve throws up in front of the press was inspired by Harry Windsor's PR move from many moons ago. My favorite part, about this fic, about writing fics in general, is when love just kind of happens to two people who aren't really paying attention, and suddenly it's everything, and they have to conform their lives to this new gorgeous reality. Anyway that's what I'm going for in every fic I write.
This was more talking about myself than any Canadian should do in a month, let alone a day. I need to go lie down. I don't love tagging other authors in these things, but if @burberrycanary, @bluesimplicity73, @musette22, @leveragehunters, or @dontcallmebree haven't done this yet and feel like it, I would love to read your thoughts on your incredible fics. And you, readers, please don't miss any of their tremendous work. Take it from me, their amazing stories (and Zenaida's) keep many a monster at bay when the night is dark and full of terrors. Big love to everyone out there sharing their creative endeavors with the world! <3

Hey so Solas clearly lived at Skyhold or owned it in some capacity, in the frostbacks. So do you think this was the kinda general area he hung out in all the time? Like most of his holdings/outposts/hideouts being in the ferelden/orlais region makes sense. As far away from arlathan as he can reasonably be, just off the maps we have.
So did he also fuck around in the dales? cause I really cannot stop thinking about the delicious poetic irony of the home of his ostensibly failed rebellion later becoming the DALES. the land they gave to the elves, where they recreated elvhenan to the best of their abilities, where they were brutally killed and marched upon. It strikes me as therefore not a conincidence in inquisition that you come upon that big shrine to fen'harel in the exalted plains, the dirthavaren.
Imaging dalish elves and ancient freed elves alike calling it that, the promise. The place you could go if the dread wolf freed you. It almost makes you start to understand why solas really hates halamshiral so much. what a mockery, what a place to try to recreate the thing he gave everything to destroy.
I say all this partially because I am very interested in the way inquisition has this like archaeological/anthropological approach to the lore, where history is layered upon history and blood seeps into the sites of history. I love love love walking through the hinterlands and learning the history of arls and their castles for their lovers right next to the story of tyrdda bright axe and especially the tree in the middle of the farm lands, grown so long ago as a funeral tree for the elf she loved, the memory of the blight and the scars of the wars present and past. basically all the regions are like this, laying imperial ruins and ancient elvhen ruins beside each other! the horrors never cease and the land is fertile with history. so much of the game is shouting in your face that history is starting to become inescapable. try as you might, corypheus is here! history is real and mythal is here and now youre stepping through eluvians and chasing a legend that youve been living in the whole time without realizing. but every landmark you claim has been trying to tell you the entire time, we've been here before.
And beyond just that simple way of literally what happened in the land, this lasting importance of these lieux de memoir, or memory site (googleable words for anyone just realizing they might be interested in collective memory studies like i obviously am), anyway that is what solas is trying to tell you about the fade too! These events never truly end, you can go to sleep in this spot and witness the horrors echoing across time, spirits who can't stop acting it out over and over! well, they did just let us know elves were originally spirits. and now they can't stop going through these cycles, stuck in place. the land is painted in layers of blood chipping away. Solas has watched it happen again and again, of course he begins to resent the prisoner in the cave who cant just turn around and see that its a shadow.
anyway all this prompted by a tweet I saw that mentioned solas laying in uthenera AT skyhold, and I started to think about what he might have been able to see in the fade from there, and accidentally started crying thinking about him watch havard carry andraste's ashes to haven. and his land in the dales might be something I just hallucinated but its real to me now.

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH, ALPHABET MAFIA
just a few reminders:
- first pride was a riot
- black & BIPOC queer people are the foundation of our entire nation and the global culture
- we owe most of our rights and progress to BIPOC trans women/femmes and different communities of lesbians, trans/gnc folks and elders.
- trans people have always existed, they are ancient and indigenous to many cultures and places and are SACRED.
- Iâm glad youâre here and there is community out there for you, waiting with open arms. Donât give up just yet, please.
- rainbow capitalism isnât liberation
- we are all we have, be fucking better to each other
- lesbians have done so much for lgbtqia+ people and should maybe idk stop being erased for no reason
- biphobia is real and just bc your ex cheated on you doesnât make it bi folks fault, youâre projecting babe
- being queer doesnât dissolve white privilege, pls touch grass
- be safe at pride. theyâre coming for us all and we need to protect ourselves.
- not everyone wants to use the word queer/dyke/fag etc. Iâm glad you reclaimed the slurs used against you, me too, but not everyone wants to and you need to respect that. LGBTQIA+* exists for a reason.
- the black and brown belong on the flag.
- the A is for asexual/romantic or agender, not ally.
- get some pussy (or whatever you do (or donât do)) and make space for joy! because black/queer joy is revolutionary and fucking righteous just as much as our anger is, too
- Juneteenth coming up too, issa parade in my city fr
- asexuals/aromantics belong at pride. Period. Full stop.
- safe sex is the best sex
- get tested!
- itâs okay to not watch the news. america is hell, go take a nap
- people 100% know themselves better than you ever will, people are who they say they are and you donât get to decide that for them. respect pronouns, identity, etc. or argue w ya mama/god/someone else cause it ainât finna be me â€ïž
- you deserve relationships that feel safe and actually are safe. Donât settle.
- learn your queer history. they wonât teach us. they took our elders from us.
- Black LGBTQIA+* history IS Black History.
- we all need to be thankful to the house mothers and the ballroom scene and those who gave us what we have now, regardless of who you are.
- donât call yourself a stud if youâre not BLACK. wit a capital B and at least one BLACK parent.
- not everyone is out. happiest of pride month to yâall. youâre still gang and we love you just as much. đ
- our collective liberation lies in the fact that we are all tied to each other. if youâre down for the gays but not the theys, youâre not as decolonized as you think you are.
- shout out to fanfiction writers who have been single-handedly providing queer art/content/representation for years while the industry continues to make a mockery of us or intentionally leave us out. one thing we gonna do is help someone find their queer awakening, and get that story right. love us ïżœïżœïżœ go team
- your life means something. itâs important beyond comprehension. you look good. your ass is fat (if you want it to be). get the mullet as a lil treat.
- LGBTQIA+* people across the board have ALWAYS existed in literally every culture and every continent (and Antarctica counts if you count the cute lil gay penguinsđ). Donât let them tell you different. We are not a âmInOrItYâ, we have been MINORITIZED. we are not small, we are great and mighty and have ALWAYS been here. And we always will. We exist in the future just as we have existed in the past. We stand on the shoulders of MASSIVE collective ancestors. If thatâs not an indication to keep going, keep fighting, keep laughing, dancing, voguing, and keep showing up authentically - then I donât know what is.
- itâs gonna be ok baby. pinkie promise.

INFP 16. I love (and also really really hate) what you said about lack of objectivity. After reading about Si loop and pessimism, I'm more aware and try to balance with affirming thoughts. Do you think it helps body dysmorphia too? I'm not diagnosed or anything, I just really hate how I look sometimes. I used to think my judgements were right because of "fact" (like there's a line/mark/bulge to point at) but it's just another thing I get too negative about?
The notion of beauty standards is complicated, so you can read what I've written about it before. Suffice it to say that very few judgments regarding beauty should be considered "objective". You only need to study a bit of history to realize that beauty standards vary widely based on time and place, which reveals a social construct.
As an individual, your idea of beauty is very heavily influenced by the culture and society you live in. I always bring up the story of The Ugly Duckling to illustrate in simple terms what it means to have your perception (of beauty) twisted by society.
You see a line/mark/bulge and think ew gross, others might see something else. One person sees an ugly mole, another person flaunts it as a beauty mark. Your way of looking at it isn't the only valid way, so if your way always suspiciously turns toward the negative, then, yes, maybe you need to rebalance your perspective. Or, there might be a deeper self-esteem issue that needs addressing (especially as it relates to Te grip).
Body dysmorphia can feel like a vicious cycle: You feel bad about yourself for whatever reason, and then you start picking out the stuff in the mirror you don't like seeing, and then you feel even worse about yourself, and then you pick yourself apart even more harshly...
There are a variety of ways to recalibrate your perspective. If you're too negative or critical, then, yes, you can remind yourself to look for the good things you like. For example, you might not like this characteristic of your body, but that other aspect is awesome, so why only focus on the negative? It's unreasonable to expect perfection.
Another method of recalibrating your perspective is to broaden or deepen it:
Example of broadening:
People young and old have written to me about feeling aging anxiety every time they look in the mirror and see a line or a gray hair. But when I look at my parents and aunts and uncles getting older, I don't see them "aging" per se. I see them growing into their skin. I see the evidence of a full life written on their body, and I think it's beautiful and wonderful that they've made it so far in life. Average life expectancy in 1900 was 47, so humans have come a long way!
As I witness myself getting older every birthday, I'm a bit critical if I'm honest, but I quickly adjust my attitude. Instead of fixating on this or that detail, I look at myself and reflect on how extremely fortunate I am to be in good health because I have access to health care, healthy food, and my life isn't so stressful that I can't sleep well at night.
Taking "the grand scheme of things" as your perspective, lines/marks/bulges don't mean much. What matters more? What matters most? If you don't want to live in a society that only values people for their looks, then the change should begin with yourself first and foremost.
Example of deepening:
The way you look is largely determined by genetics, and looks will fade with age. Should you take credit for accidents of nature? Well, if you're going to feel good about yourself through others praising your genes as beautiful, the flip side is that you doom yourself to feeling bad when people don't.
From this perspective, the better approach is to have a deeper understanding of self-worth and how it should NOT be tied to things that have no real meaning, or things beyond your control that you shouldn't be faulted for.
Sure, it's a fact that people who are considered beautiful might have more doors opened to them, but it is also a fact that being a good person is likely to bring you many meaningful rewards in the long run. When people like you mainly for your looks, what happens when you inevitably lose them? When people love you for who you really are at heart... now that's gold. Why settle for less?
.
Adjusting your perspective (aka cognitive reframing) isn't about lying to yourself but, rather, acknowledging that your thinking is flawed and needs correction or improvement. It is a tried-and-true way of mitigating excess negativity. And it should be relatively easy to do for anyone with a healthy N function. How's your Ne?

Happy Worldbuilding Wednesday! Where in your setting would you most like to visit, and where would you avoid at all costs?
This is an interesting question! And a really rough one, haha.
For one, it would definitely vary in the time period / exact moment in time regardless of the location, haha. But I'll pick from overall time periods! (And assume I can easily speak the native language.)
For those who don't know the countries in my world, check this out!
MOST ENJOY VISITING:
Haha, sooooo I technically have a tie here??? And both technically wouldn't work for one reason or another. đđ
MINOGUA (during RFtA)
Minogua is a country that's drawn a lot of inspiration from Latin America + Hawaii and, uh... well previously had a lot of themes of colonialism. That's why it feels a little rough to want to go there as a kinda tourist, haha.
But! Shortly before the time of RFtA, they evicted the direct authority from the colonizing countries! So by the time the story comes around, they've had a few decades of trying to turn their country into what they want it to be / what it was before they were invaded!
I grew up both in Texas (there's a LOT of Mexican people and influences there!) and Florida (near-tropical and has a lot of Puerto Rican people / influences!). I may not be Latina, but two of my closest friends are (and one is now my gf đ) and I have a lot of positive experiences relating to the culture. I think that's a huge reason for my fondness for Minogua and Tzakah, haha.
Besides that, as I (hopefully) alluded to, Minogua is also a tropical country! It's got a rich, surprisingly friendly culture and I'd absolutely love visiting it on holiday. It just... would feel wrong due to the whole "colonization" history, haha. đ
To be fair, I don't think a majority of them would mind it. But it's only been a few decades since they got rid of the direct authority of the colonizing country, so other people exploiting their history for their own "entertainment" would definitely not rub some of them the right way!
TZAKAH
The real place I'd most like to go... if I'd even be able to remember the experience!!! đđđ
So, the problem with Tzakah is that they're kinda hidden! They're actually a massive city built into a seaside cliff in Cirrane's rainforest as well as an isolationist "country" (read: city-state) with no connection to the rest of the world!
See, there's two ways to go if you'd like to leave or enter Tzakah: through the forest or by the sea. Only... there's a couple problems with that.
Go by sea, and there's practically endless storms raging off the coast. And not just your average nasty equatorial storms--but hurricane-type stuff! Not close enough to bother Tzakans, and actually not even permanent! But any time anyone goes near that approximate area of the world, knowingly or not, storms begin to barrage them until it destroys their ship or they (wisely) flee the area.
Many around the world refer to that area "the Gods' Land", theorizing that the gods' home is past the storms and the storms themselves are meant to keep out all but those who are worthy.
Making the storms "the Gods' Trials", of course.
Tzakah is lucky to just barely be at the edge of the Gods' Land, managing to avoid the Trials even when they go out to sea for fish. Besides that, they don't travel much further--they learned a long time ago of the dangers associated with it.
On the other side, they have the rainforest. And, somehow, it's worse.
Beyond the usual dangers of wild nature, Cirrane's rainforest is known to be haunted by malicious spirits--theorized to both be faerie in origin and those of deceased victims--that kill all who encroach on their territory.
Those who wander too far into the forest are known to never come back. Most--the Cirranians on the other side of the rainforest--don't know exactly why people who wander into the forest disappear. Again, they just theorize it's spirits--they don't know for sure. All they do is that they should never go past a certain landmark in the forest... lest they never be heard of again.
Those of Tzakah, however, know of the "spirits" by name.
The Melijé.
Merciless hunters they're locked into perpetual war with, and will be forever until the end of time... or until one finishes the other off.
Why?
Well, for the horrible crime of having left the Melijé centuries ago!
OH, YEAH, BUDDY, IT GETS DEEP! I LOVE TZAKAH!
Anyway, yeah! Tzakah is a safe haven hidden in-between the Gods' Trials and the Melijé haunting the forests of {insert forest name here, probably sounding vaguely like "Melijé"}. Uh, I've definitely named the forest, don't worry! I'm just too lazy to look it up! Yeah...
Tzakah was formed by refugees who fled from the Melijé long ago. They're a peaceful people--descended from those who hated the Melijé's violent and hateful ways--and have created a completely pacifistic utopian society for themselves... outside of a select group of warriors who've trained under Torcaiz (their god of Protection) to repel any Melijé attacks. However, they're all warned of the struggles and pain associated with it beforehand, and accept the burden.
The people of Tzakah are isolationists due to the whole "actually kinda separated from the rest of the world" thing, and... another piece of their history that makes them see the rest of the world as a much darker place than their utopia. (Which obviously is fair. I mean, have you seen most of my worldbuilding??? It's bad.)
However... that Very Purposely Ambiguous "Piece Of Historyâą" has also made Tzakans cautious of the very few outsiders that do make it there. (There's a few ways, but it's mostly them rescuing people who got lost in the rainforest before the MelijĂ© kills them... or idiots who try to sail through the Gods' Trials, thinking they're "worthy".)
Instead of welcoming outsiders in with open arms like they'd want to (but they pretty much still do--), they're more cautious of and careful with them. Outsiders tend to get questioned by one of Tzakah's gods--usually Torcaiz alongside one of the others to keep him from deeming them all "unworthy" đ€Ł--to verify they don't have any ulterior motives.
And then, if and when they leave... they're stripped of their memories of their time there.
Yeah. Another one of the Tzakan gods--Marmorin--is able to completely remove people's memories. Except... he doesn't 99% of the time. Instead, he messes with the memories to "repress" them--leaving the effects of their time in Tzakah, but making it so, at best, they'll remember it as a dream.
Soooooo... if I were to ever visit Tzakah, I'd first have to put my life at risk and then be forced to lose my memory of my time there, anyway!
Haha, definitely not worth it, unfortunately.
In spite of all of that, Tzakah is an awesome place to visit. Like Cirrane (which the Melijé was once associated with) and Minogua, Tzakah has strong Latin American influence! They're in the middle of a rainforest, but obviously completely locked within the "city" itself!
(There's always at least one Melijé huntress patrolling the woods outside of Tzakah. Their rivalry is bitter, harbored and continued mostly by the Melijé, and one of Torcaiz's jobs as their god of Protection is maintaining a barrier that keeps the Melijé out.)
Again, their culture is very utopian, with most everyone being incredibly supportive of one another and each others' problems. The few who don't feel that way are instead given space and patience to do whatever they wish. Many of which eventually become (or already were) Warriors and develop a solidarity with the others, or leave Tzakah under the watchful eye of another god...
BUT YEAH, I LOVE TZAKAH AND WOULD LOVE TO VISIT IT IF I COULD REMEMBER ANYTHING ABOUT THE VISIT!!!
(To anyone wondering, the Melijé aren't any sort of "native peoples are inherently violent" thing or whatever. They're actually in the minority being that way in my story! Most of the time--like with Minogua--it's the opposite. Native peoples just want to be left alone. The Melijé's history actually separates them from most indigenous groups, tbh. Send an ask if you want to know more about them or Tzakah in general! Though please specify what specifically you want to know more about...)
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
CIRRANE
Aaaand on the other end of the rainforest is CIRRANE! (Somehow there happens to be both a utopia and dystopia separated by nothing but a rainforest, some magical nonsense, and a ravaging cult bent on destruction of all others and growing their own power...)
I've spoken about Cirrane before, but it's definitely scattered across posts, haha. Long story short? Since this post has been LONG--
Cirrane is an incredibly impoverished nation with a massive wage gap and next to no middle class. Their way of "solving" that?
Bread and circuses!
... no, I mean it. Almost literally--
Context! The origin of the term "bread and circuses" to placate the masses is actually from Ancient Rome, where they'd use food ("bread") and entertainment ("circuses", which originally referred to what are now called coliseums)!
So... want to guess what Cirrane does?
Yeah, so, basically people have the option to risk their lives by fighting in arenas / coliseums to raise their status. Likewise, it's incredibly cheap to buy into and watch them! Lowkey, their entire economy is based around the arenas and the whole "political structure" around them.
Even the current monarch has fought in the coliseums before!
(In order to display their sheer magical prowess to the masses and intimidate them into falling in line.)
Similarly, Cirrane is known to be a debt-trap country, which will often try to entice people (but especially outsiders) into gambling... and using that to hook them into the many available vices.
I'm sure you can see why Cirrane is the "AVOID AT ALL COSTS" country.
Oh, and btw? It's VERY relevant in Rising From the Ashes! đ„°
Yeah, so, you'd really think it would've been Glavnran, but no. Somehow, as bad as Glavnran is, Cirrane is worse.
(PS: "Melijé" is pronounced "Mehl-ee-hey")

Someone in the notes on your post about food in fantasy mentioned connection between at least early modern production of sugar and colonialism and slavery, and while I 100% agree that it's something that should be known, I think that if you want to have lighthearted fantasy setting there are definitely ways to work around this.
Like sugar is also produced from sugar beet. I don't know could it be done without modern equipment (production started at the very end of 18th century so while industrial equipment was primitive it was), but like you may do something with it, like some wizards developing production technology.
In the same vein, crop exchange in the Old World was mostly peaceful, or at least it wasn't due to slavery. Like rice was already grown in Egypt in 1000 BCE and made its way to Spain by 7th century CE. Bananas were grown in Turkey by 15th century CE. And tons of agricultural goods come from West Asia both ways. What I am trying to say is that if your world has equivalent of Americas your Europeans* could have just acquired potatoes and corn without colonization (because they were more ethical than irl or because they didn't have resources for conquest or because American nations were strong enough to stop them). Like potatoes and such are just crops, sailors could have picked them as a supplies and then someone decided to grow them at home.
This is like a suggestion specifically if you want to have a world for costume drama without dealing with heavy themes. I would suggest describing it specifically to point that out, and I can't say that it's very politically aware but definitely not worse than "they just have it" or "yes there are overseas colonies but pay it no mind".
*Because that's usually the case in examples that are discussed, from what I heard East Asian fantasy set in East Asia also suffers from this for the same reason, but I didn't read enough of it to say
Let me say you make real good points and I broadly agree with you. I do think the history of colonialism and where our foods came from is important (I do research that so no doubt). And I also agree that sometimes, those themes are too difficult to board properly, especially in a lighthearted story.
However, in fiction, it's not so much that I want people to do more "clean" ways of getting those crops. Many people told me "well, what if they get it through trade, or what if they got it through magical portals and such" my point is not that you find a "colonialist free" way to have potatoes in your setting, my point is that every crop in real life has a history behind them, and when you place them in your setting, I think you should consider that. Not only because you will learn about real life and its history, but also because of the storytelling potential.
I mean, I do have "worldbuilding fundamentalist" in my bio, and I think even if you don't sketch the entire world, you should at least know where your heroes are. Much of modern fantasy loves to adopt the "medieval" aesthetic, while in fact presenting a world with widespread trade, urbanization, a growing artisan class, etc. (I've done a longer rant about it here). Those things aren't just aesthetic choices, they are different societies that have different dynamics and they do affect the kind of plots and characters you might make on them.
I don't think fantasy should shy away from exploring themes such as imperialism and colonialism, trade and politics, intercultural contact and social change. One reason why I'm so insistent with the theme of crops and trade is that it's because it's emblematic of those issues. Sure, you don't want to explain the potatoes or chocolate in your setting, whatever. Don't you WANT to, though? Don't you want to explore beyond the pseudo-medieval aesthetic, and explore what an American or African -inspired setting might look like? Of course, you could and should also make your own new settings, but exploring actual history, geography, biology (at the broadest term, natural history) will make you a better worldbuilder and a better writer, AND also let you learn more about the world.
Sorry if this rant is a bit unfocused, just woke up from a nap after some wine, but this is why I'm so insistent with the stories that can arise just by considering the crops in your setting. Imagine what else can you write.

I see you tag a lot of things as 'kalosian woods', what does it mean??? is it like a project or a fic or something? đ
Hey there anon! Yah, itâs a massive AU/rewrite thing I have for the XY anime (and maybe games??) that Iâve been planning for a while now. The name is short for âbeware of kalosian woods; lovely, dark and deepâ and itâs up on AO3 at currently idk 6 fics?? Which is super funny since so far Iâve managed to plan out 60 fics for it and the numbers are getting higher as I go on lol. Anyways, this all happened when I got inspired by a friend to rewrite some scenes of the anime and then welp, it snowballed into a project of massive proportions that should, if Iâm motivated enough, keep me occupied for a year at least ^^â
I guess I should say some things about it since Iâve been rambling on for so long, huh? Well, in my watch of XY (and many future ruminations afterwards) I guess my biggest problem was that almost everyone but Ash and Greninja got their narrative presence and story potential whittled down to almost nothing (if not downright nothing) as the series went on. The start had promise but afterwards? Straight off the series itself I canât tell you much about anyone in any real deep capacity (and the sad thing is that I do care about at least some of them, but they end up getting the shortest stick ever :/). So, in this rewrite Iâm shaking things up and giving everyone opportunities to develop and grow, try out new things and new bonds, let the PokĂ©mon play around with each other and their Trainers (Chespin my beloved, why did you never exist beyond the butt if the joke when you used to have a Reason for Being in your origin ep?? ;w;), all that jazz. Also including some game plots and characters (AZ shouldâve been there and in my essay), more fleshed out Team Flare, maybe Southern Kalos??? Still thinking on that. More dramatic and honestly more cooler Kalos Crisis where we donât just have two 50% Zygarde and then Zygarde Rock, changing up the way Showcases are done (letting them be their own thing seperate from Contests while also having that creative flare), more lore for that Bond Phenomenon, etc. Basically Iâm going to have fun with the playground of Kalos lore/locations and letting any character that was a character have their time to shine, so if there are any backgrounders that you may have taken a shine to, thereâs probably a chance that Iâve written them in this big thing heh.
(My second problem is the lack of Legendary Death Bird and Life Deer in the series that introduces themâwdym the only time I can see them is in one movie for 5 minutes? And donât get me started on the cameo in the camp arc.
So naturally Iâm going to have them play a role throughout the series as well, down to the Crisis itself. Canât have Squishy have all the fun :3)
So, Iâm not sure if I truly grasped what this project is about, tbf Iâm still planning it out as I go since Iâve always been a pantser, but itâs something fun for me and I hope that more people will come to enjoy it too! A mix of every genre, some crack interspersed within the fluff and angst, Sycamore adopting way too many children while placing himself in a self-made love triangle, lore and deep connections, history and its effects, life and death and order.
And being the best version of yourself. That too.
PS I forgot to add, my tag is basically a really funny spoilers-no-spoilers compilation of posts that fit the vibe of the whole series. Like the posts just resonates with a certain part of the series and represents it and I thought that hey, might as well make a tag that would make no sense to anyone until the series is finished while also giving myself inspiration and motivation. I should probably make a side blog for the project but thatâs if it gains enough traction I think, like an askblog or compilation thing. Anyways lmk if thereâs anything unclear in my massive ramble or if you want to know something more/else, Iâve really enjoyed this ask if you can tell heh :D <33
#the title is inspired by that one poem; you know âand Iâve got miles before I sleepâ?#yeah. i think itâs very fitting considering the series and legendaries involved#sorry for the ramble but I couldnât resist the stage heh#feel free to ask me any questions about it btw#I also have another series for all of my PokĂ©mon fics#Since I have so many ideas for every series of the anime (once I get to horizons I bet Iâll have some for that too)#Itâs linked to kalosian woods; named âwhen one life meets anotherâ#Eh what else can I say? Um I also have the link on my pinned post so yah#Should tag this in as well heh#kalosian woods#silv.ex#Big projects for the big brained (Iâm crying) (6k for a one shot) (Characters wonât stop making dumb decisions)
