Popular DC Characters and Their Canon Religions

(Thought about doing this bc I thought it would be cool and interesting to do plus I’m still obsessed with gradient text)

(Also these are based off the Prime Earth or New Earth Versions of the characters)

(And there are a lot of characters who aren’t on this list bc they have no confirmed religion)

Edit: I re-did this with evidence directly from comics as to the character’s religion.

Batwoman (Katherine Kane) Jewish

The Kane’s are implied to be part of the Reform Judaism branch of Judaism. more evidence to her being Jewish is in DC Infinite Holiday Special (2006) we see her celebrating Hanukkah with her girlfriend, Renee. In Detective Comics #854, #858 and in Batwoman #7 you can find more evidence of her being Jewish.

Batman (Bruce Wayne) Atheist

He grew up Christian with his father, Thomas Wayne, being a big influence, but his mother, Martha Wayne was Jewish. Batman in issue Batman #30-#33 (written by Tom King) has it confirmed that he doesn’t believe in a God. Also in Justice League (2016) in #23 its also confirmed he’s an Atheist.

Black Canary (Dinah Lance) Christian

In Wonder Woman #34 Wonder Woman asks Black Canary directly if she’s Christian and she says “Yeah, I mean it's complicated, but sure.”

Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes) Christian

It’s assumed he’s Christian as in Blue Beetle (Volume 7) #9 there is an imagine of Jesus in his house and in Blue Beetle (Volume 7) #21 Alberto mentions going to church with him.

Booster Gold (Michael Carter) Atheist

My favorite boi has openly admitted to being atheist in Justice League International Annual #2.

Doctor Fate (Khalid Nassour) Muslim

He’s an Egyptian-American and both of his parents are Muslim and it has been confirmed by DC that he also follows Islam.

Doctor Fate (Eric Strauss) Jewish

He was mostly raised by his Jewish step-mother Linda Strauss and therefore it’s assumed that he also follows and believes Judaism.

Dove (Wiley Wolverman) Atheist

In Hawke and Dove (Volume 4) #4 it’s stated he doesn’t believe in God.

Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) (Christian on New Earth) (Jewish/Christian on Prime Earth)

So it’s been stated that Hal is Christian, but when Prime Earth came along he had adjustments to his background and we got a glimpse of his father, Martin Jordan, who was Catholic, and his mother, Jessica Jordan, who was Jewish and them celebrating Hanukkah. In current comics it’s shown that Hal believes in God, but whether that is the Jewish or Christian God is up to interpretation.

Green Lantern (Jessica Cruz) Atheist

In Green Lantern #42 we see Jessica and Simon’s religion clash and its confirmed that she is Atheist.

Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner) Christian

In the Omega Men series we see Kyle Rayner reference back to his Catholic mother and in turn he speaks of following that faith and he even prays on several occasions.

Green Lantern (Simon Baz) Muslim

In Green Lantern #42 we see Jessica and Simon’s religion clash and its confirmed that he is Muslim.

Harley Quinn (Harleen Quinzel) Jewish

There have been references to her being Jewish since her first comic with celebrating Hanukkah, but she was finally confirmed to be Jewish in Gotham City Sirens #7.

Huntress (Helena Bertenelli) Christian

Her backstory states she comes form an Italian Catholic family as well as the fact she has a cross on her costume.

Joker Atheist

Guy hates God and Gods and any higher power as well as doesn’t believe in them even though he’s met a few. Plus with all the sad backstories he has I wouldn’t be surprised if he lost his faith before becoming the Joker.

Lex Luthor (Alexander Luthor) Atheist

He was written during the Cold War and many villains were actually written to be atheists to basically see them as even more evil. Plus the guys ego is too big to believe in anything more powerful than himself.

Mister Freeze (Victor Fries) Atheist

In Outsiders (Volume 4) #21 its confirmed he’s an atheist as he says he doesn't believe in an afterlife.

Mister Terrific (Michael Holt) Atheist

In Infinite Crisis #5 it’s confirmed that he’s an atheist and doesn’t believe in anyone, but himself and his team.

Red Robin (Timothy Drake) Atheist

Confirmed in a Red Robin #22 he says he doesn’t believe in a higher power(s).

Supergirl (Kara Zor-El) Raoist

Easily explainable as she grew up on Krypton and follows it’s religion.

Superman (Clark Kent) Christian

He was created by two Jewish guys, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. He was raised by two Midwestern Methodists, Martha Kent and Jonathan Kent, and therefore follows their religion

Also Raoism (Rao-Orthodox) is the Kryptonian religion based on the god Rao. The religion has like 14 major deities, 200+ demigods and 1000+ titans. And one of their major deities name is Nightwing...guess where Dick’s name came from?

G/t Drabble (Crash landed on a hostile planet trope but NOT via the a tiny vulnerable human in a planet of mean powerful alien bigs route)

tw: a bit of censored cursing. Uh. I’m not sure what else. Maybe broaching of sensitive tops such as sexuality and religion. But not really. Mostly it’s just rlly dumb word play/lame humor and a confused alien being confused (and kinda freaked/troubled due to the confusion? you’ll see if you read it i guess). there is some sad lorg boi times. idk. no romantic relationships. just a shaky friendship is forming between a crash-landed big-arse alien (a human! *gasp* i woulda never guessed something as vile as that o: ) and one of the much smaller, very much not human locals. most want to kill the poor dude who got stuck on this planet of hostile lil guys who think he’s a monster and immediately decide they much off him asap. so like having this one ally is kinda important to him. But it’s hard. because. lots reasons rlly. culture differences. the language tech can only do so much. the size diff creates definite issues because trust is hard in general. and trusting a big being that could easily cause havoc on your planet mostly just cuz he /seems/ nice is not a very good foundation... there is much to learn between the two before they can be truly good frens. so uh good luck to them lol *raises glass* I mean. I don’t think I’ll ever write these two again. but I’m sure they’ll end up good friends. probably.

Anyway without further adieu, here have a disappointment (read: attempt to be creative but i’m kinda lazy tbh and still kinda bitter I can’t draw for more than like 10 minutes before I start spacing out :/ )

"We are called humans or the scientific name is homo sapiens" spoke the large alien, Lyle.

"Homo sapiens? That is rather long, is it not? Why is a "scientific name" even a thing? Why would that be necessary? Scientific name versus what kinda name? Emotional name? Why are these science names two words? Seems annoying. What is wrong with just calling yourselves simply homos? Or something else just as nice and concise. Straight to the point if you will. Probably. I... Uh.. I obviously don't know what exactly is the purpose of a scientific name as i already implied... Sooo..." The much shorter – and much scalier- native being (called Torrynts) awkwardly looked off the side to stare at the plain, blank, siding of their dilapidated, isolated house as if it were the most interesting thing in the entire vicinity. Which it wasn’t of course. There was a f***ing alien 15 times their size only a few them-sized lengths way…

Lyle gave his new comrade – and only friend on this gawdforsaken planet that mostly wants him dead- th pondering, and possibly ironically, rather colourfully scaled Torrynt by the name of Kyvlar a bemused look, bordering on coy.

"Huh. 'Straight' to the point you say?" He paused with a small snort. "Well, my not-so-statuesque friend, do I got news for you~"

Kyvlar suddenly blanched, giving a Lyle a look that was like a knife to the heart while blurting out. "Wait, wait, wait! Hold up! We? There are more than one of you? Here? On this planet? Were you just a distraction the whole time. Oh... Oh no.... Have we really been victim a secret homo invasion this whole time! I-"

Their panicked monologue was interrupted by a most horrendous noise. Like a slowly dying tornado with the hiccups or something.

"STOP. Stop I-I can't. I can't. This is too much much!" Spoke Lyle with his hand covering the bottom half of his and his eyes scrunched shut.

'Welp,' thought the Torrynt, 'This is the end. This is when I die. I should have known better than to immediately put my trust in such an enormous obviously dangerous specimen. Ho-'

Kyvlar’s dramatic internal speech was interrupted when the alien surprised them by uncovering the his face, revealing a huge grin. ‘They weren't upset? Huh?’ The Torrynt blinked owlishly at the human in confusion.

"Sh*t, bite-size (Kyvlar noticeably paled at the impromptu nickname not 100% the foreign joking tone, well it would have been noticeable to someone their size at least), I know you don't mean to, context-wise, but you reminded me of my great aunt Karen when my Uncle Todd and Uncle Copper decide to have their friends over along with relatives for a gatherin'."

Plastering on a faux distraught look and blatantly mocking tone, he continue with exaggerated hand gestures. "Oh no, it's the...the...," he paused with snort, "... the homo invasion... No, no, no... Not here... not in this... this good, Christian neighborhood. Aren't just two of them enough? Oh woe is me!" The alien dropped the mocking tone and smirked towards the smaller being. "Heh. Good ol' great aunt Karen could never remember Uncle Todd was Jewish and so was the majority of that neighborhood.... It’s where my Uncle Todd was raised actually…"

The said smaller being just stared blankly at the homo-no-human they supposed as just “homo” meant something else, they weren’t sure what else, beyond just something else.

"Uhhm. Wh-what? U-Uhm, so what exactly is “homo” then? And what’s Christian? And Jewish too. What’s that? Are... Are those other types of -uh- intelligent, sentient creatures on your planet? Y-you know, b-beside hom-er-h-humans? Or are these subtypes of humans? What kinda are you? What is a great aunt? or Uncle? Does the great indicate a larger size? Oh gawd, a-aren't you humans b-big enough regularly? Oh... W-wait. O-or are you a great- uhm- great aunt, was it? E-er, g-great something? Ohhh. Zyntall (Torrynt swear). I'm sooo confused r-right now... " The timid tiny being, sighed in frustration before their eyes snapped open wide in a panic, and they did an immediate one-eighty with their behavior, and it was off all their previously trust, as wavering as it was, vanished in an instant, squeaking out a quick "sorry. oh, Z-zyntall... I'm so-so-sooo sorry. I-I hope I d-didn't offend y-you or anyth-thing... p-please, oh please, don't hurt me" while gazing everywhere except towards the much larger alien, hoping desperately the 'bite-size' nickname was just a bad joke...

Clearly they not only didn't get what so hilarious about the whole thing but also thought he was a monster prone to violence – still. Lyle sighed, all the mirth that was previously in his expression draining out of him leaving him with an uncomfortable grimace on their face. How disappointing... They really wish there was another human here to share in the jesting. But alas, that was not meant to be. At least as far as they knew there was no "homo invasion" in the making. Lyle wasn’t naïve. He knew humans were easy to slip into a gray moral state, at best. The role of villains at worst. And many of his kind would likely take advantage of a planet full of tiny, vulnerable people. Lyle couldn’t help but inwardly cringe at the thought, getting nervous about something that wasn’t an issue. At least now. Currently, human-wise, it was just him on this distant planet. And as far as he knew, no one - well, no other human at least- had any clue where they were. It probably just seemed he simply disappeared. Never to be seen again most likely. Trapped on this random alien planet in scenario that is akin to some sort of a personal hell of sorts.

'Wow. Hello, major depressive episode that’s making me overly dramatic. I haven't seen you since I was - what - eighteen?' thought Lyle regretfully. Calling this planet a personal hell was probably a bit over the top. But still, he couldn’t even seem to keep the trust of his single native ally. It only adds to his feelings of lonely isolation. And he feared his lonely angst will only get worse and worse. But only time will tell.

Giving a small sigh, he mentally prepped himself to try and get back his small friend’s trust. At least he was able to laugh for a wee bit earlier. It had been so long since he had done such. It was nice. Hopefully next time it will not lead to a backtracking in his attempted friendly ships with an open local, or even worse, a hostile local. The little laser guns that native being had stung like a b*tch. It reminded him when he got bit a couple times by some fire ants during a vacation as a child.

So yeah these were rando improvised characters made on the spot.

But Lyle is a guy (he/him. He’d be chill with they/them too)

And Kyvlar is… a Torrynt. So like they/them I guess. Torrynts don’t have genders. Like at all. I guess they hermaphroditic (intersex if talking by human terms but not really as they are capable of reproduction and they aren’t human so… I dunno… Not even sure if hermaphrodite is a useful term. As idk if hermaphroditic animals, in nature, are capable of reproduction… I don’t think so? But I’m not sure tbh…). There is no variants like there are with human “sex”. And male/female concepts are 200+% foreign to these wee reptile-like aliens (albeit warm-blooded minded, so perhaps more draconian than reptilian idk. Also aliens being described as reptilian gives me hives due to a conspiracy theory that is like super bigoted actually n’ stuff. Very yikes. Don’t want to talk it about it rlly…). Their reaction would def be “wtf. That’s the weirdest sh*t ever” to such a thought as male n female binary dynamics & whatnot. No exceptions. They’d be like why a lot of you guys limiting yourself because of whether or not you are a potential offspring vessel or not. I don’t understand.

So Yeah. Uh. Anyways.

Their conversation about this prolly (or close to this):

Lyle: Hi. I’m Lyle. Just some random dude form Earth I guess.

Kyvlar: a random dude what?

Lyle: uh. I’m a dude. I guess I meant that I’m a boy though dudes don’t really have to be boys I think. But not to derail too much… Yeah. I’m a man/guy/boy/brosef, whatever you wanna call the male gender. Please not by brosef actually, heh. Anyway. Yep. A boy. That is what I am. Uh. How about you. I can just tell… you ….you have uhm two legs. Oh damn. Wait. That sounded so stupid. I wouldn’t assume your gender or anything. I just… You don’t look exactly human so..uh. UGH. Nevermind. I don’t even know where I was going with that... Heh. ANYWAY, so yeah what’s your gender is what I’m trying to say. Sorry I’m awkward as f***. I’m not used to socializing much. Been doing deep space sh** on my own for a few years now and.. uh.. yeahhhh….

Kyvlar: *stares blankly*

Lyle: Uh. Yeah. So. A Gender? Do you, uhm, have one? Or…????

Kyvlar: Uh. I think so? I mean I’m mostly a day-by-day I’ll figure it out then type but I, I really want be able to fix my home up. I want to learn to cook. Kinda suck at it now. Uhm. I guess�� Uh. I should probably help you get on good terms with my people so they stop trying to kill you. You seem nice n’ stuff… so yeah. There’s that. I could use a little more purpose in my life. Not to-

Lyle: wait. Huh? What are you talking about? Are you talking about an agenda?

Kyvlar: Yes????

Lyle: *snorts* I didn’t say an agenda. I said a gender. As in A. Gen. Durr. Like are male or female or maybe something off the typical binary track??

Kyvlar: Uh. Er. Huh??? I, I’m so confused right now…

Lyle: Hooo boy. I’m so not prepared for this discussion at all.

"Why are people so hostile towards President Donald Trump?"

Chris O'Leary:

Before you pass my answer off as “Another Liberal Snowflake” consider that 1.) I'm an independent centrist who has voted Republican way more often in my life than Democrat, and 2.) If you want to call someone who spent the entire decade of his 20’s serving in the Marine Corps a snowflake, I’d be ready to answer the question what did you do with your 20’s?

Why Liberals (And not-so liberals) are against President Trump.

A.) He lies. A LOT. Politifact rates 69% of the words he speaks as “Mostly False or worse” Only 17% of the things he says get a “Mostly True” or better rating. That is an absolutely unbelievable number. How he doesn’t speak more truth by mistake is beyond me. To put it in context, Obama’s rating was 26% mostly false or worse, and I had a problem with that. Many of Trump’s former business associates report that he has always been a compulsive liar, but now he’s the President of the United States, and that’s a problem. And this is a man who expects you to believe him when he points at other people and says “They’re lying”

B.) He’s an authoritarian populist, not a conservative. He advances regressive social policy while proposing to expand federal spending and federalist authority over states, both of which conservatives are supposed to hate.

C.) He pretends at Christianity to court the Religious Right but fails to live anything resembling a Christ-Like Life.

D.) His nationalist “America First” message effectively alienates us and removes us from our place as leaders in the international community.

E.) His ideas on “Keeping us safe” are all thinly veiled ideas to remove our freedoms, he is, after all, an authoritarian first. They also are simply bad ideas.

F.) He couldn’t pass a 3rd-grade civics exam. He doesn't’ know what he’s doing. He doesn't understand how international relations work, he doesn’t understand how federal state or local governments work, and every time someone tries to “Run it like a business” it’s a spectacular failure. See Colorado Springs’ recent history as an example. The Short, Unhappy Life of a Libertarian Paradise And that was a businessman with a MUCH better business track record than Trump. We are talking about a man who lost money owning a freaking gambling casino.

G.) He behaves unethicaly and always has. As a businessman, he constantly left in his wake unpaid contractors and invoices, litigation, broken promises, whatever he could get away with.

H.) He is damaging our relationships with our best international friends while kissing up to nations that do not have our best interests in mind. To his question “Wouldn't’ it be great to have better relations with Russia?” The answer is Yes. But it is RUSSIA who needs to earn that, who must stop doing the things that are damaging to that relationship, or we are simply weaker for it.

I.) He has never seen a shortcut he didn't like, and you can’t take shortcuts in government. “Nuclear Option, Remove the Filibuster, I’ll change the Constitution by Executive Order…Don…what happens when you remove the filibuster and the other side retakes the majority in the Senate? Suddenly want that filibuster back? What happens if you manage to change the Constitution by Executive Order and an Anti-2A President wins the next election?

J.) He behaves and has always behaved as an unabashed racist. Yes, I’ve seen your favorite meme that claims he was never accused of racism before the Democrats…Absolutely false. Donald Trump’s long history of racism, from the 1970s to 2019 See the Central Park 5, the lawsuits and fines resulting from his refusal to lease to black tenants, the 1992 lost appeal trying to overturn penalties for removing black dealers from tables, his remarks to the house native American affairs subcommittee in 1993. The man sees and treats racial groups of people as monoliths.

K.) He is systematically steamrolling regulations specifically designed to keep a disaster like the 2007 subprime mortgage crisis from happening again.

L.) He speaks and acts like a demagogue. He sees the Legislative and Judicial branches of government as inconveniences, blows up at criticism no matter how deserved and actively tries to countermand constitutional processes, not to mention attempts to blackmail and coerce people who are saying negative things about him

M.) His choices for top positions, with the exception of Gen. Mattis, who is a gem, have been horrendous. A secretary of Education without a resume that would get her hired as a small town grammar school principal, A secretary of Energy who didn't know the Department of Energy was responsible for nuclear reserves, an EPA head whose biggest accomplishments to date had been suing the EPA on multiple occasions, an FCC head who while working for Verizon actively lobbied to kill net neutrality, and an Attorney General who thinks pot is “nearly as bad as heroin” and asked Congress for permission to go after legal pot businesses in states where it is legal. (There goes that great Republican States rights rally cry again, right? *Crickets*) An Interim AG after Firing his First AG who’s appointment is probably unconstitutional.

N.) He denies scientific fact. Ever notice that the only people you hear denying climate change are politicians and lobbyists? 99% of actual scientists studying the issue agree that it’s real, man-made and caused by greenhouse gasses. Ever notice that every big disaster movie starts with a bunch of politicians in a room ignoring a scientist's warning?

0.) He does not have the temperament to lead this nation. He is Thin Skinned, childish, and a bully, never mind misogynistic, boorish, rude, and incapable of civil discourse.

P.) He still does not understand that the words he speaks, or tweets, are the official position of 1/3 of the US government, and so does not govern his words. He still thinks when he speaks it’s good ol’ Donald Trump. It’s not. It’s the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. You have probably spread a meme or two around talking about how no president’s every word has ever been dissected before…YES, THEY ALWAYS HAVE. It’s just that every other president in our lifetime has understood the importance of his words and took great care to govern his speech. Trump blurts out whatever comes to his mind then complains when people talk about what a dumb thing that was to say.

Q.) He’s unqualified. If you owned a small business and were looking for someone to manage it, and an unnamed resume came across your desk and you saw 6 bankruptcies, showing a man who had failed to make money running CASINOS, would you hire him? He is a very poor businessman. This is a man it has been estimated would have been worth $10 BILLION more if he’d just taken what his father had given him, invested it in Index Funds and left it alone.

R.) He is President. But he refuses to take a leadership position and understand that he is everyone’s President. Conservatives complain about liberals chanting “Not my President” while Trump himself behaves as if no one but his supporters matter.

S.) He’s a blatant hypocrite. He spent 8 years bitching Obama out for his family trips, or golfing, or any time he took for himself, and what does he do? He was already on his 20th golf outing in APRIL of his 1st year in office. He constantly rants about respect for the military, yet can’t be bothered to attend the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day because of a little rain. (And that excuse about Marine One not being able to fly in the rain is HILARIOUS.)

T.) He’s a misogynist. It's not really ok in this day and age to be a misogynist, but it’s not a huge deal if you’re a private citizen. It’s a pretty big deal if you hate half the people you’re elected to lead. The disdain for women seeps out of his …whatever…. and he just can’t hide it.

U.) Face it. In any other election “Grab Em’ By the Pussy” would have been the end of that candidate’s chances. Back in the 90’s I used to marvel about how Teflon Bill Clinton was. I no longer do. The fact that he managed to slip by on that is as much a statement about how much people hate Hillary Clinton as it is about what is wrong with politics in this country right now.

V.) He has one response to a differing opinion. Attack. A good leader listens to criticism, to different points of view, is capable of self-reflection, tries to guide people to his point of view, and when necessary stands his ground and defends his convictions. Any of that sound like Trump? His default is not to Lead, its’ to attack. Scorched Earth. The Jim Acosta reaction is a good example. There was no defense of his convictions when Acosta was asking him repeated questions about his rhetoric on the caravan. His response was to attack Acosta.

W.) He takes credit for everything positive while deflecting blame for everything negative. Look at him with the Stock Market. He’s been bragging about it since day one, and to give credit where credit is due, speculation on coming deregulation early in his presidency did fuel some rapid growth, but to pretend that it’s all him, that we’re not in the 9th year of the longest bull market in history and THEN, when the standard market volatility that deregulation inevitably brings about starts to show up? Yeah. Look at yesterday. Hey! Stock Markets losing because the Democrats won! Do I need to bring out the Stock market chart for the last 10 Years again?

X.) He emboldens the worst among us. Counter-protesters are slammed into by a car while countering actual Nazi rally, and the response is there’s fault on “Both Sides” The media is at fault for a nut job sending them and Donald’s favorite targets pipe bombs. The truth is not all Republicans, not all Trump Supporters are racist, fascist lunatics. Many are just taken in by the bombastic personality and are living in an information bubble made worse by the fact that they unfollow anyone and ignore any source of information that makes them feel uncomfortable. People on the left do that too. The Biggest problem the right has right now is that the worst of the Right is the loudest and the most in your face, and the actual right, especially the Freaking PRESIDENT needs to be standing up and saying No. Those are not our values.

Y.) He seems to think the Constitution of The United States, the document that IS who we are, the document he took an oath to support and defend is some sort of inconvenience. He demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of Constitution, from believing he can alter the 14th through executive order, to thinking The free exercise clause in the first amendment somehow supersedes the establishment clause (not that he really understands either) or that the free exercise clause only applies to Christians. Or his attacks on freedom of expression and the press. He repeatedly makes it clear that if he’s read them, he does not understand Articles 1–3, and that’s something he really should have before he took the job, because they’re not going away.

Z.) I’ll use Z for something I do blame him for, but the rest of us have to carry the blame too. Polarization. This country is more politically polarized than I can remember in my lifetime. Some of you who are a few years older than I may remember how it was in the late 60’s when construction workers in New York were being applauded for beating up hippies, I think it’s pretty close to that right now, but that was before my time. And he is the cause of much of the current level polarization, but also the result. It didn't’ start with Trump. We’ve been going down this road I think since the eruption of the Tea Party in the early years of the Obama Administration. I do hope the tide turns before it gets much worse because the thing that scares me more than anything is what if that keeps going the way it has been? "

Björn Ironside || Love Alphabet

A = Affection (PDA, what sort of affection they give)

Bjorn motions his arm out to you, saying little with words, but looking to you with his sharp eyes.

Like with many things, he’s not shy. But he’s also not someone who will go overboard with his affection. He enjoys being sparse about it and seeing if you’ll press him for more. Holding your arm in public, laying kisses on your lips or otherwise. He lets you make a scene if you want more, though.

B = Babies (Anything you want about babies)

“If you want them.” He says, turning down his head. “I will be happy to give them.”

If you want them, he’ll give them. He’s a well-bred man but takes great pride in his line. As a busy man, he doesn’t often get the pleasure of being there to raise them as much as he wants. So he soaks in the moments that he can with your pregnant belly.

C = Cuddles (How they cuddle or are cuddled)

“Don’t go just yet.” Bjorn verbalizes his complaints when you want to leave, but before, well he won’t open his lips.

Lazily. Bjorn prefers to hold his woman on his chest, raise his hand to her back and keep her on top of them. Sometimes he’ll raise her leg over his, stroking over normally covered skin until he decides to be a little playful.

D = Darling (Pet names)

“(Y/N), come here.”

He’s not a very large user of pet names. He prefers to call you your own name. Though it might just be something that was taught to him through the guidance of Lagertha and Ragnar, later by Princess Aslaug.

E = Enamored (how hard do they fall when in love)

“I’m...” He mutters, looking around the room to avoid eye contact. He doesn’t say it, what’s on his mind, and you have to push him along to admit it.

Carefully. Bjorn has done the hard fall in love before-- he doesn’t like it. Not because it wasn’t good while it lasted, but that’s just it. It didn’t last. He’s squeamish to fall hard in love and so he does so carefully until he’s more confident that this good thing won’t blow up in his face.

F = Firsts (A first on anything you pick)

“I’ve had better ideas.”

The first kiss is a dare from his drunk brothers to go and kiss a random shieldmaiden. After all, who can deny Bjorn Ironside? Tell that to his public humiliation of being slapped. He could get retribution, but, he did get a blowjob out of it.

G = Good Morning (How do they wake you up)

Silently slipping his hand up your underdress to awaken you from your slumber.

One of two ways. Either leaving you in bed to sneak off and do what he has to do-- or, opening you up under his fingers with plenty of warming up done beforehand. He finds it amusing how you squirm under him.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs?)

“Hugs?” He jerks his head back, eyes big and bright. “Why would you give me a hug, hm?”

With his brothers and father, maybe. It strikes him as strange if you ask him for a hug. Nonetheless, he’ll give it to you with a little bit of a confused furrow in his eyebrows.

I = In Labor (Labour and Delivery)

On the standby. He’s not exactly squeamish to birth. He’s seen it before with Porunn and Torvi. As someone who grew up with a host of siblings, he thinks that you can handle it. If something goes awry though, he might inject himself carefully into the situation by getting his mother.

J = Jealousy (Are they jealous? How do they handle it?)

“And who was that?”

Tons of glaring. Bjorn isn’t really afraid to approach someone that he finds to be a threat. More often then not, he’ll do something about it in front of anyone that is around. He’s not shy. He’s Bjorn Ironside-- and the gods love him.

K = Kisses (How do they kiss? How often?)

He enjoys cornering you for kisses.

Despite what you might think, he does kiss his woman more than anyone might think! It’s a bit of foreplay for him, getting you warmed up is all a fun part of the game.

L = Loyal (How loyal are they?)

“I have a... bad reputation.” Bjorn reasons. He abandoned Torvi, so of course, you might worry about the same. “But that is not me.”

He knows he has a bad reputation for being a man who wanders bed to bed-- but it wasn’t always this way. When he finds someone he’s truly in love with, he has no true reason to wander. There are other ambitions than sex, after all.

M = Memory (Their favourite memory about you?)

Giving birth. Yeah, he knows that most men would be terrified to admit such a favourite memory like this. For Bjorn, there’s nothing more beautiful than a maiden becoming a mother.

N = Never! (Dealbreakers)

“How could you side with my uncle?”

Betrayal. He can’t handle someone that will lie to his face or side against him and his family.

O = On the Rocks (How do they make up?)

Usually letting things go to shit, he swears this time will be different.

He sits on the side of the bed and waits. He’s not necessarily one that apologizes often. But, if he thinks he’s done something wrong, he will. The last thing he wants to model for his children is how to be a shitty father. Though, he has a feeling he already is.

P = Playtime (Any headcanons on sex)

Standing up is his favourite position. Bjorn loves throwing his size around. There’s nothing sexier to him than shoving you up against the wall and taking you there where you stand.

Q = Quiet Time (How do they wind down?)

“Have I told you of the thresher?” He bounces his son on his lap.

Telling stories. It travels far back to when his family was still together. Lagertha and Ragnar, his mother and father, telling him stories of Odin and the gods. Being special enough that these stories were the only thing he had to worry about.

R = Rapture (What makes them happy?)

“Do you want to be king one day?”

Being king makes him happy, but nothing is as special to him as having his child on his lap while he sits in the very same throne that his father sat.

S = Soulmate (What do they think of soulmates?)

“Is this a Christian belief?”

Skeptical. He’s seen the love between his mother and father-- but also saw the hand the gods gave them. He’s seen the love between his father and Athelstan, and saw the same. Maybe he believes them, but he thinks if he believes in soulmates, the gods will tear you apart. It’s better not to give it a name.

T = Together (What do you like to do together?)

Raiding. It’s the ultimate bonding experience for him. But, if you don’t fancy the life of a shieldmaiden, he enjoys storytelling under the stars. Lazing about and talking about the gods. Watching you grow with children and recounting to you the creation of the world to your stomach.

U = Unyielding (How do they handle interlopers on the relationship?)

“Stay out of my way. I have no issue making scarce of you.”

Not well. Bjorn is the type to make his presence known and to also make them as small and irrelevant as he can. He’s territorial. He’s known to get into fights with others. This often means trouble and more scars to add to the count.

V = Vulnerable (Are they vulnerable often? How do they handle it?)

Heavy huffs, uncertain eyes and a tongue that almost feels tied.

No. No, no, no. The more vulnerable he is, the softer he takes it to mean. Being soft in the past has not gotten him far. His father hated it, his mother hated it. The only one who didn’t... Queen Aslaug. And so, he decides that he can’t have anyone see it unless they’re absolutely going to stay.

W = Wedding (Wedding headcanons)

Something small and private. He’ll invite his brothers, perhaps his mother if she isn’t busy. Otherwise, he enjoys small private ceremonies where he can feel comfortable enough to let loose.

X = (E)x (How do they handle exes? What do they do if they see them)

“Who was that one looking at you?” He says, scrunching his nose.

With a level head. His feelings have been buried. What’s done is done, the only issue he has is raising his children with you. Sometimes that might mean a few snide comments that he often throws his hands up about.

Y = Yearning (What do they do when they miss you?)

Never admits it!

Fondles a small hammer of Thor that you gave your big, strong man. You blessed it yourself. He’ll look out over the sea and count the moments until he gets back into your arms.

Z = Zzz… (Sleeping headcanons)

Bjorn loves to drag his fingers across your back, swirling them softly while you sleep. He sleeps better knowing you’re by his side-- loyal and truthful to him. While he can’t say that he sleeps peacefully all of the time, after an hour of you being asleep, he’ll finally allow himself some rest.

(P1) The pilgrim thing got me really disappointed!! Because they LITERALLY SAID!!! HE WAS GONNA BE FIGHTING A*T-RIGHT PEOPLE THIS SEASON!!!! I feel like this is a big let down to a lot of the people who were looking forward to frank, a character who is commonly misconstrued as an a*t-right figure himself to deny that once and for all, namely the fans who belong to minority groups (myself included) as well as the issue with the last I know they were doing it as a little easter egg by

(P2) recreating that one image from the comics but they could have put it in a better situation because a)those criminals were in fact rather young and the fact that the perfectly fit the "thug" stereotype is iffy at BEST. Because it also brings up something that was talked about in luke cage/defenders (a character I mcfrikken love) that black boys who are just trying to feed their family end up getting killed/beaten within an inch of their life meanwhile the white vigilante gets off free

(P3) (I know I'm writing a lot I apologize but m feeling heated ab thjs) because truly they looked roughly the same age as Amy. I will say I enjoyed his brotherly jokes with curtis (shout out to that man for dealing with his dumbass and not killing him for all the stress he causes him akdjsk) and the times he showed true care and softness (ie ACTUAL FRANK CHARACTERIZATION) towards amy. Im also iffy about the fact that he let a guy who peddles child porn go? S2 of dd he killed a dude doing that

Okay, first of all, don’t worry about apologizing, it’s TOTALLY fine to be heated about this. The media we consume is reflective of the thoughts and beliefs of the people creating it, and can influence the thoughts and beliefs of the people consuming it. As such, we SHOULD be heated about the content we see and create; it has impact and influence, and it matters that we call out issues when we see them, and remain intensely scrutinous of what we’re being shown. No need to be ashamed of that.

Second, I’m going to answer each point or comment made here in list format, just to try and keep things organized. Because it’d be really easy for me to spin out and start ranting, and I want to keep this cohesive and legible.

1) The letting Pilgrim live thing was just... so unimaginably stupid. They talked about him being a major antagonist and yet he played no important role in the series at all. From a functional, story-based level, the entire Pilgrim-Schultzes plot needed to be cut. It was convoluted, unnecessary, and wasteful, while also managing to be confusing and just flat out boring. Pilgrim wasn’t even an interesting character! He was just a waste of screentime! The two plots of Billy and Pilgrim were always fighting for attention, and it distracted from the linear progression of the show.

But on a more fundamental and moral level, it was also just... so, so bad to display him as an alt-r*ght neo-N*zi and just... let him live. As if he had an excuse. As if he was “equitable” to Frank because his weird little Christian fundamentalist wife died and he had two kids (off topic, but Lemuel is a horrible name). As if I was supposed to feel bad for him. As if I was supposed to sympathize with him, pity him. I don’t. And if I, a pacifist, soft-hearted, “forgiveness freely given” girl wouldn’t pity him, why on earth would a man like Frank?

It’s ridiculous. It’s shameful. Any piece of media that tries to “humanize” N*zis in a way where they are portrayed as sympathetic and “just people following orders” is disgusting. A N*zi chooses hate. A N*zi chooses bigotry. There is no mistake there, no human folly. That is choice and it is unforgivable. Pilgrim deserved to die, and that’s all I have to say about it.

2) I recognized that as a scene from the comics, an icon of Punisher-ing, but... You’re really, really right, and that’s something that worries me about Punisher and its fanbase. I’ve been stepping away from Punisher because I think it’s starting to cross the line into that territory; white vigilantism is, in many ways, a dangerous game to play, and when we start to romanticize white men with guns taking the law into their own hands and mowing down “thugs” (who, you are right to say, are usually just poor POC who are trying to make ends meet), we start walking a razor thin line.

Frank Castle in DD S2 was... different. This new Frank, this Punisher Frank? I don’t like him. And I don’t like what he stands for. Not anymore.

And I think the issue is that people like the idea of this big, bad white man with the guns calling all the shots, literal and metaphorical. And that scares me. Frank Castle is supposed to protect these infringed people, supposed to protect the downtrodden and oppressed. When he becomes a symbol and tool of that oppression, things get ugly, and things go wrong.

We can’t just excuse the inherent issues in something like Punisher just because we like Jon. I know I can’t. I have to ask these questions because they matter, and because it matters to me and to hundreds of thousands of other people who have to live with the fact that there is a chance that they could be shot down like that for no reason other than because someone decides their life doesn’t matter as much as, let’s say, a white one.

I know it sucks to bring politics into something we enjoy, but it also sucks that people have to deal with the real-life consequences of these issues. And it sucks that people see this show and idealize it, romanticize it, idolize the violence and the wickedness and the idea that they should be able to hold the scales of justice on their own and decide who matters based on their own personal whims.

The race discussion is very real with Punisher, and it’s a discussion we need to be having. We need to look at this critically and we need to see that, yes, there’s some very, very bad problems and some glaring issues. And we need to be honest about that, preferences all set aside.

3) Curtis Hoyle is a f*cking saint and deserves a break. He deserves it. (Also, what is going on with the show that they? Seemed to forget he has a prosthetic? He was leaping around and doing all manner of stunts as if he had both legs. Like... guys.)

4) Dad Frank was the only good thing about this season. Fight me.

5) The child p*rn thing upset me, too. I guess we’re supposed to infer that Frank is “growing” and not just killing whomever he pleases, and supposed to infer that he listens to Amy and wants to please her and not upset her, but... then he, like, murders anyone anytime anywhere after that. It seemed like they only showed the “growth” away from the urge to kill when it suited them, and it seems it only suited with regards to some of the lowest, most disgusting people ever.

Like, Frank takes the shot and kills Billy without even letting Billy say his final, dying words (which seemed to be an apology in the making?), but holds back from killing Pilgrim just because Pilgrim said “wait” and “I have sons”? Bullshit. Pilgrim and that child p*rn man should have died. End of discussion.

In the end, I guess I’d sum it up this way: Punisher season two lacks conviction. It wants to present the argument that things with Frank are complicated, but complicated just ends up coming across as nonsensical. Nothing about the show makes sense, there is no clear character development, every action is seemingly at random, and the plot is jumbled. The show can’t stick to anything without changing its mind, retconning itself into nothingness.

But worse yet are the implications of this jumbled mess; humanizing N*zis and white s*premacists, advocating the brutal violence of a white man with a gun as his own lawless lawmaker, and just a sort of devil-may-care attitude about what it means to be someone with power and exerting that over people who don’t stand a chance.

I have a lot of complaints, but I think, mostly, I’m just disappointed and sad. Frank deserves better than this. We deserve better than this.

We deserve heroes who will fight for what’s right. This Frank seemed to hardly know what on earth it was he was fighting for. And that makes me really, really frustrated.

A = Announcement.- How do you tell him and the world that you’re expecting?

He would be another idol to hold a press conference about it if people were suspecting or hoping for a baby to come from the two of you. Granted there are some who would not be happy about the pregnancy but he would ask for those to support him and you nonetheless.

B = Books.- Did he read the books?

He wouldn’t read the books but he’d realize little things his parents did to raise him and he’d think about what he was going to do for his own child.

C = Cuddles.- Who cuddles the baby more?

When the baby was born he was demanded at work more, so the little time he had for his family he’d make it worth his while.

D = Daddy.- His reaction to being called Daddy and it setting in.)

Fans could now joke with him and call him “Father Jisoo” like he was a priest.

E = Empty.- Who goes to the store when you guys run out of supplies?

He’d be good at making due with something else as a substitute for a while but when there’s nothing else to use and if you’re not around (like at work or resting) he’d bring the baby out as to not bother you with another task and this would draw attention from his fans and he’d end up taking a much longer time getting home because he was taking photos and giving autographs.

F = Feeding time- Who does feeding time?

He likes having quality time with you and his child so when he’s home he’d take turns feeding the baby and you while you either have to feed him or remind him to eat as well or else he won’t eat at all.

G = Grumpy baby. - Who is better at dealing with a grumpy baby?

You’re both good at it but, as mentioned before, Joshua would do it if he was around because he doesn’t want the baby growing up and feeling like their dad wasn’t around to stop their crying.

H = How?- how many kids does he want?

He’d want a “rich man’s family” and have a boy and a girl, in that order.

J = Jokes.- best dad joke?

Drink water~

K = Kisses.- His favorite place to kiss the baby.

He’d probably grow a bit of stubble at this point in his life so when he kisses the baby they’d get tickled by the little hairs on his chin so he’d like to kiss in their neck because that’s where the baby is the most ticklish.

L = Little.- How he feels when he holds the baby for the first time.

He’d be thanking the Lord for blessing him and you a healthy baby bc let’s not forget that this dude is religious and he’d totally do that kind of thing.

M = Mommy.- what does he call you?

I feel like his pet names would be hella traditional so maybe “Darling”?

N = Nappies.- who deals with the really bad diapers?

He would. No one said that all of the quality time with the baby had to be the best spent by Joshua.

O = Onesies- Who likes to dress the baby in ridiculous outfits?

He probably would from getting distracted from doing laundry or cleaning out the wardrobe if he found some unopened outfits that were presents for the baby from the baby shower you two held while you were still pregnant.

P = Pet names- names he calls the baby.

Probably “sport” or “princess”

Q = Questions.- How many questions does he ask the nurse?

He wouldn’t want to ask questions since he felt like there was no right answer to raising a human being but if there were some concerns health-wise he’d do his homework before asking to much.

R = Rely- what is the biggest thing you rely on each other for?

If you guys had different beliefs or cultures, there may be some conflict as to how you want the baby to be brought up. For example, let’s say you aren’t religious as Joshua is but it has never been an issue in the relationship until it came to Joshua wanting to raise the baby as Christian. You’d want the child to not be “forced” into believing something and wanting them to choose for themselves when they were older but Joshua wanted the child to learn from scratch before it was too late, since he has most likely been raised from birth as a Christian.

S = Sleep duty. - who gets up when it’s really late at night?

He would. It’s a small price to pay to be with his child.

T = Trepidation.- fears as a new parent.

He’d be worried that the baby would think that Joshua put work before his family and not be as close to their father as they are with their mother.

U = Ultra sounds.- His reactions to the ultrasounds.

Even when the two of you agreed and told the doctors you wanted the baby’s gender to be a surprise, Joshua would try to figure out the gender from the ultrasounds and would almost get caught by you numerous times.

V = Values.- what is the most important value he wants to teach your child.

Faith in God or something, I’m not Christian so idk these things very well.

W = Water.- Who gives the babe the baths?

Again, this is quality time and a break for you.

X = X-mas- what do you guys plan for the holidays?

He’d like to attend church and practice his traditions from home and you would want to input your own cultural background but in the end you two end up making your own traditions to follow for the years to come.

Y = Yelling.- How many fights do the two of you get in?

Music Taste: I enjoy a variety of music, but currently I am in love with electro swing. I occasionally listen to MCR and TOP, y'know, that group of musical groups. Any music that shows up in Guardians of the Galaxy is probably a good bet for me.

Home Life: I'm the youngest of four children and the only one left at home. Junior in high school who is starting to really dread being an adult and having to be responsible. I live with both of my parents and we have a Yorkshire Terrier named Koko and a cat named Kirkland. We are planning on moving to a different house soon, and it's in my plans to paint the Union Jack on a wall or closet door in my new room. I really don't do anything but mess around on my computer, haha. I'm starting a job soon, though, so that's gonna have to change and I'm going to have to really buckle down to stay focused on school and life.

Personal Religious Beliefs: It is my personal belief that causes me to follow the Christian religion (Baptist Protestant to be precise... if you're interested in knowing what exactly this is, here's a website: https://www.newsmax.com/fastfeatures/baptists-protestant-beliefs-apart-christians/2015/04/02/id/635795/). Now, as mentioned, I am "Baptist." However, there are some things that my family and I believe that are different than the traditional baptist view. I don't even have to argue this point... they are not acting as true Christians are expected and supposed to and are giving Christians/Baptists a bad name, and that makes me very, very sad. That being said... even if I don't agree with your life style, I'll gladly talk to and accept you. As long as you don't knock me for my beliefs and lifestyle, I won't knock you for yours (Unless there is actually a prevalent problem that requires you to seek actual physical help). I believe in our (American people) rights as Americans, and not only that, but as people, almost as much as I do my religion and beliefs.

I get really insanely jealous like really easily to the point that I get physically sick and I feel ill over stupid shit and I try my best to get over it because most times I’m being irrational and it’s something I’ve been working on for years. Because of this I don’t really have an answer to this because a lot of it blends together.

I used to be fairly confident or at least good at faking it but the last year or so I’ve felt pretty disgusting about myself almost all the time but it’s getting better slowly.

I’ve always wanted to travel all around the world, it’s always been a dream of mine to be able to go anywhere I want at any given time and just explore and see the world. I don’t really have any specific place other than Chicago so I can see my wife

I listen to just about everything but country, I can’t stand it

R - Is cheating ever okay?

Short answer is no, long answer is that it’s always morally wrong, but if you’re in a relationship and you’re cheating, there’s usually always an underlying issue in the relationship that results in one of the people cheating, so I can understand why it happens.

S - 2 habits.

I bite my nails constantly, and if I have any type of wound, cut, scrape anything like that I can’t stop picking at it. (This has resulted in me getting hospitalized a few times) I usually have to cover anything like that up with layers so I don’t pick at it.

T - 3 things I love unconditionally.

The only thing I really love unconditionally is my girlfriend. I never believed in unconditional love before and hated even hearing anything about it because it made no logical sense to me that you could love something forever no matter what it/they did to you. But I’m fairly convinced I’ll always love her even if things didn’t work out between us for some reason. She’s just a part of me now, and I think she always will have a place in my heart no matter how cliche that is to say I strongly believe that it’s true.

U - Favourite time of year, and why

I really enjoy everything about Fall. It always gives me a warm and comforting feeling, the general aesthetic of the season, the weather, the food and the holidays that go along with it. It all makes me very comfortable and content.

V - Big dreams?

I don’t really have many aspirations or dreams for anything, I’ve always struggled to find things I was excited to pursue and can’t seem to make up my mind even when I do.

W - If I've done something I regret very much.

I don’t regret anything, it’s a conscious decision I made a long time ago to live without regretting anything because it’s a waste. So I don’t.
