I've got a discord friend group of about 15 people though only 10 or so are regularly active and game nights often are usually around 6 people but they rotate who participates often. We're all in the 20s and mostly nonbinary / genderqueer / trans one way or another. I'm 25 ftm personally (they them) and the friend this is about in particular is 22mtf (she/they).

Friend is really excited to hit the 1 year marker in her transition and loves sharing how excited she is about her progress - how strangers at her job are gendering her correctly more and more often, how her cup sizes are growing, how much weight she's lost, wardrobe updates, getting to learn girl things from their very supportive mom, etc etc etc. It's all very exciting, I remember hitting my 1 year marker and i'm genuinely really happy for her.

The thing is I struggled with disordered eating in the past. Several others in our friend group have as well and it's something we've talked about both in related and unrelated convos to this issue. Friend keeps an excel spreadsheet with her measurements from bust to hips to weight and will update us frequently whether we've expressed interest in hearing the exact numbers or not. Exact Numbers was one of the things I kept track of and hearing her tracking them (for very different reasons) will often set me off and i'll start taking more and more unhealthy actions, falling back into disordered habits.

Friend has adhd and very poor impulse control. She often joins conversations and talks over people, completely changes conversational topics on a dime, or forgets who is in a call at any moment and brings up someone's triggers. She'll almost always apologize if someone mentions a social mistake she's made, but because the weight/food intake/number watching is so important to them as a way to track their transition it's the one thing that keeps coming back and back and back. I and the others have tried talking in voice calls, mentioning in text chats in the group and even DMing her but because of the topic and this group being the friend group she feels safest in (we were all the first to know and hyped them up on the hrt journey) these are some convos she only gets to have here

and because of the topic, i feel rude or embarrassed when I have to say "hey can we not talk about this right now or i'm gonna have to leave". So on most nights if it comes up I'll just deafen / go afk / just zone out entirely until the conversation has passed. If it doesn't seem like it's going to or they are so in depth that it's genuinely triggering a self harm response i'll fully leave instead so she can keep having her fun and get excited

Game nights are different though

I'm usually the host of game night and so can pick when we play our silly little games. Obviously people can and do still hangout and do things together Not on specific game nights, and we all do, but game nights are my thing. We play party games over discord or multiplayer competition games or lately have been getting into games like content warning and lethal company when there's 4 or sometimes 5 of us (either someone wants to hang out but only watch or we rotate around who plays round by round)

Friend is often working in the evenings and so bc this is an online friend group they don't actually know my work schedule. We usually only have about half the total number of participants be around for game night anyways, so I've been thinking of occasionally lining up game nights for nights when she's mentioned being busy by saying i work the other nights - but only sometimes. I do really like friend. She can be so much fun to hang out with, excitingly competitive and with interesting knowledge to share and generally a good sport no matter the actual game we're playing. But sometimes the worry about the triggering and the trigginering itself are too much. sometimes i just can't handle when she does it and knowing i can't leave and asking her to stop expressing her joy makes me feel like an asshole anyways so i don't want to be around it.

To be clear. I do not think they are an asshole. Friend is genuinely one of my friends. I like her and hanging out with her. they do not trigger me (or any of the others w this same trigger) maliciously. this is solely would I be the asshole.

TLDR: My friends way of tracking her transition sometimes triggers my eating disorder. would I be the asshole for planning game nights that I host and cannot leave / tune out conversations during so that she cannot attend as often in hopes that I am not triggered as often?

Introducing Nightfall!

For those of you who don't know, I've been streaming a lot more lately, and I want to try out a more planned and curated livestream event where I can do things with my friends and you guys! Also my hand issues have been getting better, so i can play games for longer periods. The focus is mainly to interact more with you guys since I am a workaholic ;-; and do something fun between animations. It starts when the sun goes down (for me), and will hopefully run until midnight (hence the name)!

okay, thank you for sending this in! I haven't written for Pin in almost six months and I missed it a lot more than I thought lol. The prompts you sent in are as listed below:

You’d always loved it when spring graced the island, though you weren't shy of admitting your disdain for the lethal weather that late winter and early spring often brought along.  

During winter, the stables were in a relatively consistent state of snow and cold weather from September through to the last week of March. Spring always got a late start and, as you’d noticed since you moved to the island at sixteen, winter always liked to overstay its welcome.

Spring weather typically came back around between the last three days of March and the first six days of April, often immediately following a snowstorm so severe that you and Pin would have to check on the horses at least a day in advance. You'd have to get to the stables and make sure that nothing was at risk of breaking with the strength of the wind and that everything was still properly insulated to keep out the worst of the cold.

The last week of March and the first week of April were no different that year. A snowstorm picked up on the twenty-eighth of March and lasted through to the thirtieth, you in yours and Pins loft, Pin staying with his dad due solely to happenstance, as Pin had stopped in for tea and to see how things were with his dad when the snowstorm started unexpectedly. 

On the thirty-first, a rainstorm hit and Pin couldn’t get back to you because of the risk of a power outage due to the wind, coupled with the fact that the snow was melting and turning into ice that made driving or travelling by horse way too risky. 

Pin didn’t get to your loft until the third of April, waiting out the storm--which had only ended on the second, ending on a high note with warnings of icy roads, fallen trees, flooding on the roads and warnings about floods flashing in bright white against bold red on every single news station--in his old room and keeping his dad company, the two of them playing card games when the power went out, drinking cold tea and talking in some feeble effort to pass the time. 

He knew you’d be at the stables with Gabby, Zoe, and Marcus, checking on the horses and feeding them when he saw your text that morning. Instead of telling him to meet you, though, you simply asked him to run a couple of errands in your stead, and so he did.

When he got back to the loft, he’d spent the better part of four hours on his feet. He had a twenty pound bag of cat food for the two and a half year old orange tabby you’d adopted together over one shoulder, a bag with bread, ice cream, sugar and a couple of the sweets you loved in his left hand. 

He put the bag down to unlock the door, proceeded in, fed the cat--who you’d been calling Pumpkin since you’d adopted him--and put the groceries away, happy to simply stand in your kitchen for the first time in nearly a week, a song from an indie band Pin liked playing idly through a bluetooth speaker.

You came into the house fifteen minutes later, not even registering Pins presence at first. 

But then you noticed the striking blue eyes, the obsidian ring that he hadn’t taken off of his ring finger since you got each other promise rings as a three year anniversary present the year before. You saw the black hoodie that Pin always wore during the winter, the one you always stole during the spring, and you almost felt weightless.

“Ran your errands,” he said. “How were the horses?” 

“They were fine,” you said, knowing that the horses and Bright Fields as a whole had slipped from your mind entirely as you walked toward him. “Everything was fine. Nothing took significant damage.” 

Pin pulled you into a hug and felt relief flood every single part of him with the action, felt himself relax as your arms wrapped around him and hugged him as tightly as he’d hugged you. 

You’d been communicating through a combination of facetime and texting for nearly a week, and sure, that was passable, but nothing could ever beat the feeling of your body against his, your lips on his cheek and his lips on your forehead as “I love yous” and “I’ve missed yous” and “it’s been too longs” fell from your lips. 

Somewhere within the depths of it all, Pin had jokingly asked you if you'd like to dance and you'd said yes, pulled him impossibly closer and cherished the warmth his body provided as part of you devised a plan to steal the hoodie he wore.

You knew that he'd likely swap it in favor of a knitted jumper if the heat didn't kick in in the loft by the time that the temperature dropped with nightfall, and you'd simply take it then.

You would press a kiss to his lips when he asked if you'd stolen his hoodie later on, and Pin would roll his eyes as one of his arms wrapped around you and a kiss was dropped onto your cheekbone.

The slow dance you’d begun with him wasn’t really more than a hug with swaying involved, the two of you moving slowly through the kitchen, talking idly and enjoying each others presences after almost a week of not being able to hug or kiss or exist with one another. 

It’d been a while, and that was communicated with the reluctance you had when it came to letting one another go.

Eventually, though, you did. When you checked the time, you found that you and Pin had been holding each other for almost an hour.

The realization made you laugh, contentment flooding through you as Pin pressed a kiss to your jawline, arm around your waist as the two of you moved into the living room. You curled up together on the couch, eventually falling asleep in the comfort of the silence you shared.

Kinn knows his father wouldn’t want him here. He’s sneaked out—sort of. Arm knows where he is, and if Arm knows, Tankhun knows (which is why Arm knows). Papa had told Kinn that he should let Porsche get established on his own, to show trust. It does make sense, if Kinn thinks about it logically.

20 Questions! Ebenezer/Constance Headcanons

I’m working on another larger project for these two, but in the interim, here’s an OC prompts tag. I mashed a few different lists together to create a list that made sense for an 1800s-verse story. These are just for fun, haha!

So, allons-y!

Who’s the primary protector of the two?

Both are quite ferocious, but in different ways! Ebenezer is the more obviously and openly protective one. He has a more domineering presence and quite the harsh tongue, although after his visits with the spirits, he doesn’t enjoy using it. There will be times at parties where someone will be making eyes at his wife and he’ll send a glare in their direction. Constance is much harder to provoke, but if someone goes after someone she cares for, she is a socialite trained in the ways of verbal fencing. If she truly wants to ruin someone, her words can be as cutting and lethal as blades.

2.       Who sleeps in and who is the early bird? 

 Before meeting Constance, Ebenezer had always been an early riser. He kept a strict schedule of rising at sunrise daily, even on ‘days off.’ However, after meeting Constance (and especially after they start sleeping together and enjoying each other’s company late into the night) he learns to enjoy sleeping in. It’s hard to leave the warmth of the bed, especially when he’s got his arms wrapped around his often-nude lover.

3.       Who is the least patient? 

Both are pretty much the same. Both are incredibly patient, sometimes to a fault. This sometimes results in delayed communication on things that could be brought up sooner. Thankfully, most issues that could evolve into fights are resolved because they do communicate and know to bring up potential misunderstandings before they grow into something harder to control

4.       Which of the two listens to old music and which one is more into the newer stuff?

Ebenezer and Constance both enjoy the works of Mozart, and Ebenezer particularly enjoys the works of composers from this Classical period. Constance enjoys music and orchestras, but is much more open to different genres of opera and theater. More often than not, she breaks him out of his comfort zone and encourages him to come with her to see a newer production.

5.       Who’s the first one to quit a new hobby because they’re not great at it on the first try?

Constance, just because of her lower self-confidence. To be fair, she is also the one who is much more likely to try new things in general, while Ebenezer tends to stay in what he sees as ‘his lane.’

6.       Who holds a grudge the longest?

Ebenezer will hold a grudge the longest. If his trust in someone is spoiled, it will be very difficult to rebuild, even if he tells someone they are ‘forgiven’.

7.       Who secretly knows all the lyrics to the other’s favorite songs but refuses to expose themselves?

Ebenezer. Once he learns about an opera she loves or a play she likes, he’ll learn the numbers to sing them or perform them on the piano.

8.       Who’s more likely to cry about a plant dying?

CONSTANCE. She is a terrible gardener, despite her best efforts. 

9.       Which of the two is the most outspoken?

Constance is much more extroverted and outgoing, but is also easily embarrassed. Ebenezer is more reserved, but also more confident.

10.     Which of the two is quick to speak and which one is quick to listen?

Although Ebenezer is the more quiet of the two, he find it easy to open up to Constance and chat. He could talk for hours about projects or details of work, and Constance never cuts him off. Ever. In the same vein, he is always entertained and smitten when she rambles about topics she adores.

When it comes to getting a word in against a foe, Ebenezer is more likely to snap, and has done it before.

Ebenezer has always secretly wanted children, despite what happened to his sister in childbirth. Seeing Harry and Hela’s baby reawakened that desire of his to start a family.

EBENEZER. All the time, but never in a mean-spirited way.

Connie is the open book, and Ebenezer is more reserved. She goes all in, and he keeps his cards closer to his chest. This carries over into the bedroom as well, where Constance is often the one to...inspire new positions and actions.

14.     Who gets the most invested in their hyperfixations?

Ebenezer. He sometimes gets so engrossed in his work, projects, or other hobbies (particularly the detail-oriented ones, such as tabulating data for different accounts) that hours to an entire day will pass. Constance has to remind him to eat or rest sometimes, especially if he’d determined to meet a deadline.

“Huh? Oh, um...I suppose I became distracted.”

“I had a feeling. Here, I brought you a pastry and tea. Can you spare a few moments for a break?”

Ebenezer. He literally met Constance because she was wandering London in need of shelter. He offered her shelter when she was basically homeless, and that led to their entire courtship and romance.

Constance, but she knows she’s gullible. It’s mostly out of kindness rather than actual naivete.

17.     Which of the two acts bothered by the other one but secretly enjoys every second of it?

Ebenezer has a tendency to roll his eyes when Constance, well, acts like herself. She enjoys being theatrical, flirty, fun and being a little silly. The eye-rolls and sighs are all in good fun, with him more so playing along with the act rather than actually expressing discomfort or annoyance.

18.     Who’s more likely to get into a bar fight?

Ebenezer, likely because someone had the audacity to insult Constance or make a lewd joke at her expense. She, on the other hands, usually takes words/insults on the nose. A couple shots of straight vodka or gin helps take the edge off.

19.     Who’s the optimist and who’s the pessimist?

Ebenezer is quite the optimist since his redemption. While being a pessimist is in his nature, he tries to look on the bright side more often and keep his mind open to scenarios or events. Contrarily, Constance is an optimist naturally, but prone to depression, hopelessness and mania. Usually, if one is experiencing mania or sadness, the other can jump in.

THEY ARE EQUALLY GUILTY. They both not only switch the roles of initiator and receiver, but also top and bottom.

Hiiii it's super early in da mornin and I'm still pretty sleepy BUT. I was curious about what games you've had a chance to play recently!! It's probably my biggest hobby as of late so I'm always down to talking and playing viddy jams with ma frands

the two biggest games on my mind lately have been fear & hunger and fear & hunger 2: termina. i've played them a lot, but i have not yet finished termina... taking my sweet sweet time with it. just got to day 2.

lethal company as always. i played the beta branch for v64 last night. we have not yet had a meteor shower but the belt bags are really funny.

i played a bit of pressure! did not get far in my runs but it was fun. reminds me a lot of doors. though the roblox games i play are usually the not fun ones and are just incredibly stupid. i think they're funny and i like to get cocomeloned sometimes.

1. Were you named after anyone? I don’t think so. I should have been named something else but friends of my parents had a child before I was born and named it that way so they changed their mind for me.

2. When was the last time you cried? Every time Alex and/or Henry is/are even slightly unhappy in a fic these days, so all the fucking time.

3.  Do you have kids?  I’ve adopted a 22-year-old Timothée Chalamet back in 2018 who has giving me enough headaches since then to feel legitimate to call myself a parent. (No, and I don’t want any).

4. What sports do you play/have you played?  I’ve played basketball for 7 years between 7 and 14. And Muggle Quidditch a few times as an adult 🤓

5. Do you use sarcasm?  In French, all the time. In English, it’s more delicate. 

6. What’s the first thing people notice about you?  How terrifying I am.

7. What’s your eye color?  Brown 

8. Scary movies or happy endings?  I still don’t get the point of most scary movies so I’m going to go with happy endings for now (ugh). But one day, I’ll understand scary movies. That the only thing about cinema that remains mysterious to me.  

9. Any talents? Being terrifying. I can write. And cook ok. 

10. Where were you born? Val-de-Marne, France. (Stayed there less than a week)

11. What are your hobbies? Reading. Writing. Playing video games. Watching people play video games. Watching tennis. Spending too much time on Tumblr. 

12. Do you have any pets?  My family has a cat who answers to no authority but mine (sometimes)

13. How tall are you? 159cm which apparently means 5’2” (I’m pocket sized)

14. Favorite subject in school? Depends on the year I guess. In middle school/junior high probably Maths, Biology and Sports.

 In High School probably Biology but then I kind of dropped it so German class because I was good at it at the time (I forgot everything tho) Literature and the idea of Philosophy. 

In college— I took a course where the thing to do was writing profiles and I love it so much it has kind of floated as a possible career for a while. Still does sometimes. I also took a course in a psychology department about social psychology I liked a lot. I had a lot of courses I liked actually but I remember more about the professors than the actual subject.

15. Dream job?  A writer living in Paris? Not in Paris actually, but I’m a basic bitch and and writing is like breathing to me.

Bigger And Brighter Things

Hello. It's been a while, hasn't it?

I've mostly gone radio silent after officially ending development on Project TUSSLE. I figured that would be the best way to end things, to let the community sort of quietly dissolve. Still, I did say that I would keep everyone posted with any new projects I've moved on to. So, let's go over that!

The main thing I've pivoted to lately have been Randomizers. First as a player, then a commentator, and now, a developer. I've been involved with the Archipelago project for a while now, which is a cross-game randomizer framework, letting you combine multiple different games into one big randomizer. I've made the MMBN3 Randomizer that's currently part of Archipelago Core, and have Old School Runescape and Oxygen Not Included in the pipeline as well!

I've also been streaming again! Some of you might have gotten some of the Go Live notifications if you followed during the TUSSLE dev streams, but I've been playing a pretty ambitious project I call "The Everythingomizer", where I solo play every single game in Archipelago in the same seed. It's been a blast so far! While the audience so far has been small, it's been consistent and I've decided to start taking the project more seriously, starting from the point of reaching Twitch Affiliate.

"More Seriously" comes in a few parts. First off is actually attempting to market things and build up a social media presence again. So, hello! That's this thing right here! If you've been interested in my works before, or just like the idea of playing over 50 games at the same time, I hope you'll come along! I've reactivated my personal Twitter account where I'll be posting streams and videos. If you're interested, I hope you'll follow me over there!

Additionally, I'm beginning an edited down Youtube channel containing the journey, condense into the interesting bits and given a narrative throughline so you can follow along the Everythingomizer without needing to go through hundreds of hours of randomizers. The editing is still coming along on those, but I'm expecting an "Episode Zero" to be finished any day now (gotta make a good first impression!). And finally, this cheap programmer art's gotta go. Thankfully, I've got just the person in mind. The lovely CozyGremlin has given my stream a total overhaul from the ground-up, including a new layout, emotes, and a few other special surprises you'll need to pop in to see!
