Danganronpa: Another Iteration (or a talent-shift AU for DRA)

Haruhiko Kobashikawa, Ultimate Surgeon

The protagonist, and 1/3 of the three "brain cells".

Comes from a family of field medics.

Ending up garnering lots of attention from the media for performing flawless surgeries at the age of five.

Would much draw attention away from the whole "medical prodigy" thing, but would lay down his life to save people (savior complex protag, my beloved).

Is a bit too into the anatomy parts of medical textbooks.

Mikako Kurokawa, Ultimate Pilot

Was groomed from a young age to be an unstoppable war machine.

Was told from a young age that "actions speak louder than words", resulting in her not talking much.

Doesn't really open up to anybody, not even her servant/adoptive brother.

People are often unnerved by the pale six-foot-one girl with noticeable muscles underneath her uniform, and rightfully so.

Yuki Maeda, Ultimate Exorcist

Has powers straight out of an isekai/shounen manga, and the underdog protagonist energy to match.

In spite of his title, Yuki actually specializes more in being a spiritual medium and summoning/communicating with the spirits themselves.

Is headmates with Utsuro, a far colder spirit in charge of the actual exorcisms, who finds just about any other activity "boring".

Has an awful and traumatic past that lead to both his attachment towards the dead and his alter.

Rei Mekaru, Ultimate Lucky Student

Primary trial saboteur.

Okay, I have two different prompts for a Lucky Student Rei.

First prompt, essentially Teruko Tawaki (right down to the backstory), but she doesn't need to get backstabbed for her to turn her back on others.

Second prompt: the Nagito-esque Rei I outlined here.

Either way, a total menace.

Teruya Otori, Ultimate Professor

One of Haruhiko's supports and 1/3 of the "brain cells".

Highly-intelligent and would drop tons of obscure trivia in a conversation, to the point that you would leave knowing a whole lot of stuff.

Father was the principal/dean of a K-12 school, and decided to hire his genius son to teach people.

He especially loves teaching grade-schoolers, but that kind of leaks into his interactions with his classmates (they all have at least one gold star/lollipop).

Akane Taira, Ultimate Merchant

Classic rags-to-riches backstory, with her going from a door-to-door saleswoman to a street vendor to the founder of a popular market chain.

Perfect customer service voice that she only ever lets go of when angry.

Seems docile and polite, but would punch a Karen.

Basically Akane, but even more girlboss.

Yamato Kisaragi, Ultimate Butler

Has a FuyuPeko-esque relationship with Mikako (minus the romance).

The Kisaragis have been working under the Kurokawas for generations to come.

Instead of Love Live! references, he makes Black Butler and Hayate the Combat Butler references in his dialogue.

Always seems to appear out of nowhere and know exactly what you want/need. Even Mikako is unnerved by this.

Kiyoka Maki, Ultimate Inventor

Specializes in creating weapons (primarily artillery).

Has the potential to make a nuclear bomb, but would rather spend all day doing typical teen girl stuff.

Greatly prefers fixing up old technology, rather than inventing new products.

Gets really dirty by the end of inventing stuff (blame her hyper-focus), and hates it.

Kinji Uehara, Ultimate Sniper

Was adopted by an Italian mercenary group, resulting in him becoming an assassin from a young age.

Is still highly-religious, believing that the lifestyle he has lived has condemned him to a life in hell.

Has a protective attitude towards children, has struck up a friendship with Teruya because of it.

Keeps a distance from the rest of his classmates, not wanting anyone to know the truth behind what he does.

Ayame Hatano, Ultimate Priestess

Can confidently lead sermons, but can barely handle herself in normal conversations.

Regularly goes on tangents regarding her religion, which can veer into some unnerving territory.

Is commonly seen as an upright maternal figure, which always throws people for a loop when they see how she really is.

Due to her talent, she is nowhere near the workaholic she is in canon, and she often encourages her classmates to take little breaks.

Tsurugi Kinjo, Ultimate Sprinter

Still has his strong sense of justice, but it isn't filtered through the black-and-white insanity of the police force. More like a shonen protagonist.

Would gladly sacrifice his life, if it means his peers would survive and/or be avenged. Who knows where that mentality would lead, when in a killing game?

Juu was a former Olympian, who Tsurugi looks up to and seeks to surpass.

Carries the burden of a promise made between him and his posthumous best friend.

Satsuki Iranami, Ultimate Police Officer

Haruhiko's other support, and 1/3 of the "brain cells".

Was born to a prestigious legal family, but was unable to live up to their standards, with Keisuke being the only one willing to give her a chance.

Is more of a Peralta-type cop, rather than a Santiago-type.

Probably owns a prop flag gun that says "GOTCHA!" or "BANG!".

Mitsuhiro "Mitchie" Higa, Ultimate Clown

Fandom's treatment of Mitch be like. /hj

Would have a more sanitized personality, for the sake of the kids.

Imagine Mitchie taking clowning as serious as canon!Mitch takes soccer.

Hates mimes and any other circus performances with a burning passion. Would start the clown uprising.

Kizuna Tomori, Ultimate Soccer Player

Would have a lot of issues with having a "gross" or "boyish" talent, thanks to Minako.

Would compensate for this with her hyper-girly personality.

Is highly competitive, and would do whatever it takes to win and get ahead in life.

Very Arei Nageishi-core.

Kakeru Yamaguchi, Ultimate Cheerleader

In contrast to the American-style cheerleader Kizuna is, Kakeru would be an oendan-leader.

Midori would be more athletic in this universe (although she still has her illness), and Kakeru cheers her at every event, like the good big brother that he is.

Big body = big lungs = loud shouts. Has a very hoarse and raspy voice outside of sporting events, because of it.

Is quiet to save up his voice for his cheers, and loves tea and cough drops.

Kanata Inori, Ultimate Lawyer

Her parents were murdered, when she was a baby, and she was taken in by the lawyer that prosecuted against and exposed the true murderer.

Her naturally polite and optimistic personality has made her the mascot of sorts for the Ando law firm.

Prime example of "A lawyer doesn't cry, until it's all over".

Could be considered an honorary member of the "brain cells", but she isn't a part of the polycule.

This is a rough idea of what their god forms could be. I’m sure they have many though and definitely too many for me to draw.

I gave Grant sheep eyes, sheep horns, a wolf tail and a wolf cut to show his sheep and wolf thing. Then for the Hunter I decided to give him a scythe.

Tara’s hair is supposed to look like sea foam, I gave her vines for her earth connections and then to show her sky stuff I gave her lots of stars and one eye to be sun-like and one eye to be moon-like. @autisticrosewilson said that so I did that because they are very smart and have good taste.

@autisticrosewilson also talked about Jason being the most split of the three and having other versions of himself following him around and whilst he can hear them, he can’t see them. He also just generally can’t see magic that well. Until they all ascend, some massive part of their powers is kept from them. Jason can’t see magic correctly and has something like the mist from Percy Jackson going on. To him they’re certainly in new outfits but Tara’s just wearing a sundress, some heels, a slinky on both legs and a top hat. Then Grant’s just wearing a crop top, a mini skirt and some sandals. He’s enjoying the view but is aware he isn’t seeing what’s really there.

Tara’s vines aren’t glowing because the way she’s held back is she can’t use any of her sea and sky powers. She’s limited to just earth until she ascends.

Grant has bad hearing when it comes to magic but most crucially danger. Sheep have similar hearing to humans but wolves have amazing hearing. As a god he’d have super hearing on par if not better than superman’s but he can’t access it until he ascends. His bad hearing was one of the things that made his first death kind of inevitable as a mercenary. If it hadn’t been the serum that killed him, it would’ve been him not being able to hear threats. At some point Slade started to think Grant as a kid just kept ignoring him but in reality until Slade got close enough Grant couldn’t hear a thing. (Because Slade sucked!)

For Jason’s design I kind of just slapped Shera together with a slightly altered colour palette and I was done. @autisticrosewilson mentioned Jason’s birds being robins and shrikes so I decided to give him grey, see through wings.

Then you have the Ghost and the Robin. I didn’t read Gotham war because I’m a Jason fan and whilst I can enjoy angst, I can’t stand DC fucking him over all the time and never having anything get resolved. However, I did enjoy the artists using his hood to completely cover his face in darkness and just showing the whites of his domino. For Robin I just copied his Robin costume pretty much. I drew both of them with smaller lines to make them look less there, if you get me? They’re both holding weighing scales which is Jason’s thing.

Tara has a harp because she plays with the strings of fate. Grant has a scythe because I thought he deserved it. Jason got scales because justice stuff but also I thought it’d be funny if he ever tried to use them for baking. I know those are different scales but I think Jason deserves to use his scales and all blades for dumb stuff.

Also Grant has yellow eyes. Tara has one yellow, one white. Jason has white eyes but black and white to resemble his domino masks. Even with a bare face, his masks and personas have become such a part of him that now he’s got domino eyes. In my au, Jason started off with brown eyes. After dying, his eyes went kind of grey. I’m a golden Lazarus pit truther especially because in lost days the Lazarus pit is literally gold so when he crawled out his eyes were gold but after a week or so they went green. After he died again by the batarang Bruce threw, he woke up with blue eyes and he figured it was the universe mocking him for wanting his father’s love. The only thing he will ever have of Bruce is his training, his trauma, his hatred and his eyes. Also, whenever he uses the all blades, his eyes go black because the all caste have fully black eyes and white hair. When he ascends or whenever he gets close to ascending, his eyes go black and white.

I’m Ginger: artist-nerd, citizen-scientist, make-garden-not-lawn enthusiast, and avid baker-of-cinnamon-rolls-from-scratch! I very much enjoy fandom! What is my weekly fanfic consumption like? High. Very High. Some of my current favs include: Star Wars (especially Kylux), The Witcher (here meaning I saw about an episode and a half of TWN, found the fandom, and wandered happily off towards Lambert and Aiden), LotR, sometimes StarTrek…..assorted others! I am passionate about creating things, too! Often, that means drawing fan art and/or comics. Actually, I’ve found myself stalling intermittently in that department over the past year or so. I’ve been almost exclusively drawing Kylux things using only Procreate, for a while now. Which I love doing! But I suspect doing just that one type of art for going on 4 years now is starting to have an effect of the breadth and depth of my creative well. So I’ve decided to change up how I create for a while! A good friend gifted me a sketchbook IRL and I want to fill it with traditional media drawings. I want to try drawing from more fandoms, try out new digital techniques and styles that maybe I hadn’t allowed myself before. I want to invest some time into art forms besides drawing, even - I’ve always enjoyed fiber arts and I’ve got a jack loom I’ve meant to finish repairing for a while. Once that is working, I want to learn to weave. And I want to share some of these things here! On that note, I suspect more than a few people who follow me on Tumblr are here because I have drawn a lot of kylux. Especially the long-form fan comic ‘Dying Is Easy Young Man, Living Is Harder’. WRT The Comic: Kraken and I are still fully intending to see it to it’s conclusion! Honestly, though, it’s been on unofficial hiatus for a while now and it’s likely to remain that way for a bit longer. Kraken is super busy with retraining and job related demands IRL, and I am also pretty swamped and trying to get back in a more sustainable groove artistically. The whole sitch doesn’t leave us a lot of room to create a big project like DIEYMLIH together, right now. I know firsthand how hard it can be to wait a long time for a story you enjoy to get finished - so I want to say ‘thank you’ to everyone being very patient with us! We will get there eventually! Dragon by Night! (wwbn au)

Part 1: designs!!

Okay so, my friend has been subjected to so many ramblings and updates on these drawings and i think she’s sick of it by now lol so i’m putting all of it here as a starting point for everything else i’m gonna post eventually (bloodstone manor stuff, the bloodstone, jacks curse, etc)

for reference, this au focuses on how things would work if Jack, Elsa, and Ted were a part of the Wings of Fire universe (really great fantasy book series!! i’d recommend it if you’re okay with reading something meant for 11-15 [???] year olds).

To start things off, let’s look at how the trio would look on Pyrrhia!

I decided to make Ted half mudwing and half leafwing. In the books, a group of mudwings aka ‘sibs’ has a role called a ‘bigwings’, which is assigned to the largest of the unit. They protect their siblings in battle and in life, and i thought that was fitting for Ted. Leafwings are very entwined with the plant life in the poison jungle on Pantala (aka the lost continent). They have control over the way things grow and also have extensive knowledge on the local flora, which just screamed Ted to me. I kept most of the mudwing traits while including a few leafwing details such as the speckled scales and webbed back scales, along with the twisted horns.

Elsa is a skywing. In the books, they’re characterised by their immense combat knowledge and skill, and are theorised to be the original dragon tribe. they are also very headstrong and their loyalty can sway away from their family, which i thought fit her fairly well. Also i feel like monster hunters in general fit the theme, and i have some ideas for bloodstone manor involving the sky kingdom!! I made Elsa look like a typical skywing - deep red scales, slim face, pale wings. And I also gave her the bloodstone, which i’ll mention later.

Jack was a tough one for me. Originally, i wanted to make him fully nightwing or maybe even a silkwing to symbolise his change from man to wolf, but silkwings change permanently, so i feel like that wouldn’t work properly. Instead, i opted to make him half nightwing and half rainwing. In the books, nightwings are known as highly mysterious, rarely interacting with the other tribes - supposedly to keep their magic and power for themselves (until like… the fourth book, then it all goes to hell. but that’s unrelated), and are linked to both animus dragons and mind readers. I thought this fit well for jack with his ‘creature of the night’ vibe, and also nightwings have starry skies on their wings and i thought that was neat. Rainwings are also rare outside of their territory - the jungle next to the secret nightwing kingdom (also until the fourth book - yay dragon wars!!). they have the ability to change the colour of their scales to show their emotions, camouflage, and also to try and look pretty in some cases. I thought this wouod be nice for Jack in the case of his werewolf form. If rainwings don’t get enough sun their colours are dull and ‘boring’, and since the wolf wouldn’t technically see the sun he’d change to a duller, darker dragon. ALSO!! they can spit venom, which i just thought was neat. imagine walking through the jungle one night and a mostly camouflaged rainwing swings down from a tree branch and unhinges it’s jaw, spitting venom at you until your skin burns and melts. Anyway, I made jacks resting colour to be green and gave him mostly rainwing traits - the frills on his jaw, the prehensile tail, the longer talons; and then gave him nightwing horns and back spikes, the stars on his wings, and the head shape. i also made his smaller scales a similar colour to his makeup in the special since that’s not really a dragon thing?? like at all?? ALSO (AGAIN) rainwing was a whole aren’t huge on fighting, they spend most of their time relaxing in the sun and the thought of using their venom to harm other dragons is completely horrifying to them, this of course seemed very jack-esque to me so yeah! here’s both of his colours (normal and cursed form, which is really just altered colours and different behavior like i mentioned previously)

anyway i hope you guys like this so far and i hope it’s making at least a little sense, but if it’s not i am happy to explain and there will be more posts about this in the future!! i have a bunch of ideas, like my notes app is full of dot points to expand on eventually 😗‼️‼️

For fic I really love (all on AO3) fluorescentgrey Muccamukk churchkey and independent_variables among many, many others. I love @/anticmiscellaney 's zines-- his comic art is unique and a beautiful addition to the genre. Right now I'm reading a lot of war biographies or histories. For fiction Catch-22 was my favorite read of the year, along with delving into the Discworld universe.

Favourite fic type:

I'm a total sucker for historical AUs, fix-it, and kidfic/found family. I also love songfic-- it was really popular when I was first reading fic and getting into fandom but I see less and less of it now.

Favourite holiday:

Passover. It has the best food.

Hobbies:

I draw and read and write and also now I work on bicycles. I love working on my bikes. I'm replacing my wheels next week. Isn't that exciting. Also enjoy hiking and being outdoors and cooking for my friends and family. Earlier this week I made a batch of raspberry-white chocolate blondies that unintentionally turned out pink.

Fun facts about you:

I'm not fun enough for fun facts. Uhhhh my mom and I go mushroom hunting (not the psychedelic kind, mostly for chanterelles and lobsters). We tried to teach our dogs to hunt truffles but they didn't have the attention span. Oh! I do West Coast Swing. It's like classic 1940s swing dance but modern and (imo) prettier.

I’ll do Tesoro first because it’s his day 😤 (by the time I post this it’ll already be the 25th but I don’t care; hbd Tesoro babes)

I was actually making this to submit for my One Piece Music zine application, I ended up only using the middle image (purple background) because it looked the best to me. I wanted to push myself in terms of playing with color, so I made a bunch of scenes where Tesoro is performing. I love drawing him perform, it’s good anatomy/gesture practice.

I was also going to add stuff to the background but it became tedious, and I was on a time crunch to submit the app. Maybe I’ll revisit this…

Something for fun! I always use Tesoro for practice, whether it be facial expression, gestures, hands (I will NOT forget how the animators focused on his hands in the movie, there were so many shots of his hands like holy fuck. I ain’t complaining tho), etc. I love drawing him enraged tho, because it’s such a fun emotion to portray! And with Tesoro it kinda fits, with all he’s been through.

Ok ok, so Have A Nice Life (one of my favorite bands) released a demo of one of their songs, Sisyphus, and I listened to it for hours. I was inspired to sketch an idea for the Tesoro/Stella fic. Another hallucination; Tesoro sees himself all grotesque (possibly bloodied and mutilated) in the mirror. Chose to incorporate some of the lyrics with it as well. Love how this one came out too!!

This is all Modern/Actor AU stuff; this shit is helping me with the stress of packing my shit and moving; it’s so fun to come up ideas and imagine the two of them being silly and happy!! This larger sketch is the both of them winding down for the night; Unohana is admiring Kenny, who for all we know, is fucking talking abt Star Wars (nerd).

The smaller sketch is Kenny now admiring Unohana, who is disheveled and wearing his shirt; she just woke up. Pre-coffee Unohana. Of course no matter how she looks, he still adores his wife ☺️

Messing with his hair again, also just an excuse to practice drawing his back muscles. Still trying to figure out placements for his tattoos…

They keep making each other laugh during the filming of the Muken fight. Also Kenny calling Unohana “Uno”. Need it to happen. Top right is self explanatory :)

More kisses!!!! The top kiss, you bet he’s carrying Unohana. And the bottom one was, once more, back anatomy practice. It turned into an intimate little kiss.

21. Who is/are your favourite character(s) to write?

MY OCS ATM. AND THE VERSIONS OF EVERYONE FOR MY STAR TREK AU. I put a lot of effort into them and making them feel real and understandable within their story!

Harland is super fun to write cause it's a chance to explore a world and characters I love while being respectful of the canon of the game, but seeing what aspects I can go further into with Harland. And all the snippets of Abe and Orc I've started writing is just AUGHHH THEY'RE COMING ALIVE!!!!

22. Who is/are your favourite pairing(s) to write?

Magland... Abe and Orc...... There's some I want to write, like Leon x Ada or Hylink (again.... Sigh....) that I think I'll have fun with. I just like writing pairings that have interesting dynamics or bounce off each other in silly ways

Ahhh man. It's hard to say cause I feel like I haven't read anything consistently enough lately to say for sure. I can say when I was younger I really loved CS Lewis and as a teen I really enjoyed what little I'd read by Niel Shusterman, and maybe throw in Adachitoka for good measure

SCI-FI / THRILLER ALL THE WAYYYYY BABBBEEEYYY

I like other stuff like fantasy and drama and whatever too ofc but like. NOTHING QUITE SCRATCHES THE ITCH LIKE THESE TWO, ESP IF THEY'RE A PAIR.

Sci-fi is soooo broad and fun, it's interesting when it's low concept or high concept and I like that it's so easy to inject philosophical dilemmas into the bones of the story and leave you thinking, and I like how interesting it is when you can draw parallels to current life (it's especially interesting seeing retro future sorta stories, both the fun aesthetics of 90s shit but also just seeing what people thought the scientific advances could be the further back you go, and seeing things that used to be sci-fi become just sci)

AND THRILLERRRRS.... I find them more interesting and scary than horror, though I've often been mistaken for a horror head even tho I feel like I don't watch horror that much... (Unless it's overlapped with thriller I guess lol) Idk I just find that the kind of stories you can tell when you drag out the tension and let the scares settle in to the atmosphere instead of demanding attention front and centre affect me more. I like when there's some kind of conspiracy or danger to work around and it gets more horrific with worse implications the further you claw into it. I want the fear to linger in my mind instead of only speaking to my body (think like how a jump scare isn't really scary other than startling you, vs something that actually unnerves you and gets worse the more you think about it)

I guess all that to say. I like thinking about things and want the story to haunt me with everything it's got. I want to still be thinking about it years later cause there was something in there that lingered....

Here's a Wip of a scene I really love from much later in harlands story that I really love:

"Well aren't you just a bundle of contradiction." Flea mused.

"Pardon?" Harland asked.

Flea sauntered up to Harland, circling around him as he spoke.

"A friend to both sides of the war." He swatted Harlands hair from his shoulder, watching it fall as he avoided eye contact. "A pacifist whose work has made weapons."

Harland opened his mouth to defend himself, but flea dragged his finger across his chest. Harland couldn't help but get distracted as the general's nail tugged at his collar.

"I don't make weapons." He said, unable to hide the slight waver in his voice.

Flea pouted at him condescendingly. "You may not make them, but would they exist without you?"

Harland clenched his jaw.

"Even when you fight-"

"I don't fight." Harland interrupted.

"EVEN WHEN YOU FIGHT," Flea continued, "you are offensively defensive."

Flea smiled, enjoying Harland struggling to keep himself composed. He stood in front of him, tracing his jawline. "What a contradictory mess of a man…”

Ummmm. Every single one. Idk. Too hard to pick from media but I can tell you that I really like the kitty cat baker lady, shy cow girl and orc's sister from Abe and Orc. And obviously, my most favourite side character from their story is the Penis Wizard

Oh man there's so much. I will say it's my screenplay, Misled Millionaire, that was an integral part to making me wanna study film. I've planned so much without it feeling ready and I knew I needed to learn more to do the idea justice, and I still have hand written notes from 2019 that I kept, and even found the original quick note I wrote in my phone all the way back when I just had it as a silly little idea:

Reclusive millionaire searching for new life purpose, unlikely friendship with a fake psychic.

The story has changed quite a bit, but the gist of it is that a younger entrepreneur type is feeling lost and lacking despite ticking off so many boxes that should mean he's successful and happy. While he tries to find himself, he grows dependant on his new friendship with a little old lady who gives him fortunes, until one day he can't find her when he really needs her. When I've made progress on other stories, I'll write the screenplay and hopefully direct it myself! So no stealing my ideas!!

Thinking more about my developing ideas for a Kesselian variant of the Tatooine slave culture of popular fanon, and how I hope to use it in the AU where Kyp gets off Kessel early (although he's a bit older) and ends up as a Rogue Squadron pilot.

Fair warning: This probably will make no sense at all without at least a casual understanding of the stuff that's already out there about that fanon.

I'm thinking that in this AU, Kyp's four years older, so he's Gavin's age. The reason he ended up in the mines was that his parents were protesting the destruction of Alderaan, so I could similarly move his ending up there to pretty soon after that, and I'm pretty sure it wouldn't break anything important (Whereas in JAT he's been there eight years by the time Han and Chewie find him in 11 ABY.)

Because my hope is for this to be mainly spun off from X-Wing, there's a payoff I can find in drawing connections between Kyp and other characters who were on Kessel at the same time. Primarily, Lujayne and Inyri Forge.

The idea is that the Forges are acting in the same kind of role as the wise woman who reminds Anakin of his true heritage in the first Double Agent Vader story. They're charged with knowing the stories of the Amavikka, and passing those stories along. In canon, Lujayne mentions having multiple sisters and brothers in her spiel to Corran where she accuses him of thinking less of her because of where she's from and stuff.

I think when Kyp shows up, Lujayne offers the mythical origin story of the Maw, and he hears it. Kyp's ten at this point, so it's not the same as if he was born into it (as Lujayne was), but in a lot of respects one could say he was raised as Amavikka.

The reason why the Maw's origin story is always the first one people hear when they arrive on Kessel is because the Maw is a complete mystery even to people who were brought up with high technology, maybe especially to them. This is an Imperial prison colony, so there would be a lot of people with that kind of upbringing. And those people, who otherwise might dismiss the stories told by the slaves as the pathetic imaginings of poorly educated minds or something like that, are inclined to give them more credit because it's not like they understand this cosmic anomaly any better.

Whether or not Kyp believes the stories - and I think he does, soon enough - he definitely takes heart in one of the most important points of the whole thing:

You own yourself.

Kessel isn't a planet like Tatooine that's been revisited far too often in official Star Wars stories, so there's not an abundance of native/introduced animals that I can use in the myths, nor would there likely be. In FotJ they do talk about some vanishing avian species around the tombs.

Of course, this is related to the version found on Tatooine, so a lot of that would probably cross over.

The fact that they do all their work in total darkness invites so many opportunities for various symbolism. I have yet to have any very distinct ideas for what the stories are.

Anyway, some of the background for this verse is that when they were both on Kessel, Lujayne took a liking to Kyp in particular, and kind of took him under her wing. When she manages to get out, she can't take him as well, so she and Inyri (another relationship I need to flesh out more) do the counterpart to that oath where you mix your own blood with water and sand (does that have a name?) to promise that if Inyri's ever able to escape, she'll get him out with her. This is the context in which Kyp gets out and meets the Rogues.

The local Kessel counterparts to some of the Tatooinian symbolism pose some deep questions. I'm currently thinking that the belief on Kessel is that light is sacred in the perpetual darkness of the mines. Obviously, it's not quite as important as water is in the deserts of Tatooine, but the constant darkness has a huge impact on how they need to develop their senses and stuff. This also means I can make the bogeys have all kinds of meaning.

I don't buy that nobody knew of the energy spiders until JAT.

Most or all of the plot of Wedge's Gamble is probably getting rewritten here anyway. He's not going to join the Rogues until probably towards the end of Krytos Trap, but it is pretty important that he spend a lot of time around some of them before then.

Particularly, I want him and Corran to actually be friends. I don't think that's too hard to believe in this context.

Kyp, at some point: I don't trust Erisi.

Corran: Why not?

Kyp: I don't know. It's just a feeling.

Corran: My father always told me to trust those feelings.

After Corran escapes the Lusankya, Kyp can now share his culture and stuff with him because now Corran's been enslaved.

Came across you're blog while scrolling through Ei x Reader stuff, and discovered your Mermaid Ei AU stuff, and I was curious if I could make a little request in regards to that?

More specifically, I was curious about what Inazuma itself is like in this au is like? I know it's separated by a thick kelp field, but is it like, an Atlantis-type place here? Is it still an island nation like in cannon? Or is it a sort mix of those ideas?

HIII IM ACTUALLY REALLY EXCITED TO TALK ABT THIS, also i've been kinda dead on here for a little while so i apologize for those who have been waiting for new content. Life has been a little stressful rip also i hope this make sense rip also made something kinda like a map also sorry for the spelling mistakes, I will try to go back and fix those. there's no like specific order, i just kinda spewed information about the inazuma era and some slight story lore with my previous fics in mind.

onto Inazuma mermaid au, so the way i had it kinda like laid was that it would be a mix of both island and underwater life. The island of Inazuma remains relatively the same with the exception that they aren't under the restrictions they were in game and that they were ruled by Raiden Makoto. In this specific Au, Ei was killed in the archon war instead and was reincarnated as the mermaid ruler of the Ocean of Inazuma

(i do apologize for the map being kinda rough, i just got done drawing some stelle fanart adflajdsk my handwriting also really sucks so i apologize for that as well)

all the newer areas i added are much deeper in the water and unable to see due to the deepness of it with the exception of the watatsumi island areas which are a bit closer and include more of the shell like designs in the main area of the above water Watatsumi island area.

the area with a star can be thought of as a shrine of sorts to Ei, with exception of during the war, where it host mermiads both from watsumi island and the main inazuman mermaid civilization to the few mermaids from other areas that got stuck due to the rapid growth of the dense kelp.

Buildings are relatively similar in design to those on land, with aquatic touches such as huge shells (similar to the ones in watatsumi isalnd) and dark purplish sandstone

the main area consist of the temple that Ei resides in as well as the neighbouring families that make up the political parties ("underwater tenryou commission" essentially consist of: Mermaid! Ayato(treasury type role, regualtes the currency which for the sake of being funny are sand dollars made of a metallic substance) , Mermiad! Shinobu(Laws, helps aprroves laws under the guise of Ei, with exception harsher laws such as the kelp borders), and Mermaid! Sara controls the miltary.

In this Au, the underwater lands of watsumi island are inhabited by both land and sea creatures. Watatsumi island is the only place where humans and mermaids get along. Watatsumi island is also isolated from the entirety of Inazuma due to a agreement made betweeen Raiden Makoto and One of the early High Priestess before Kokomi. (Kokomi in this Au is also half mermaid/half human bc it makes sense to me atleast)

the underwater areas are at war with eachother because of both the restrictions to leave the inzauman ocean but for resources and land as well. The area labelled unaccessible is where most of the fighting happens as both areas have made agreements with Raiden Makoto that all undersea affairs will be dealt with far away from the Isalnds of Inazuma and Watatsumi island.

Now the way that i had this going down with my previous writings being in thought is that the reader is from watatsumi island and given that them and Ei fall in love, the reader and Ei marry which helps puts an end to the war and brings peace to the ocean. In this case, there will the inclusion of a pendant or some sort of magical item that allows for the reader to be half mermaid/half human as to not tear reader away from their family on Watatsumi island. there's also some other routes that i have in mind but i don't have them as well thought out yet or they go a little against my rules on my page.

for some more like info about like the mermaids themself, every mermaid in the inazuman area are deep sea. Ei for reference is the biggest out of all the mermaids including outside of Inazuma. Ei is the only mermiad in inazuma however who has webbed hands.

more information on this area will come up as i work on it. I'm gonna begin working on the other areas, mondstat i sup next for the series and i have really fun ideas for it because Mondstat technically consist of both freshwater and seawater due.

12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them

uhhh... no one in my particular circle of people with Taste, but Jyn. not even in terms of immediate fandom disk horse, but that in the wider-off tumblr star wars cultural reception, I think that even if rogue one is remembered as that That Time SW managed to Make Another Film That Was Good, the individual characters have been kind of... swallowed up. and that's why i love her. she's such a fucking mess. she's kind of petty and mean but in the space of things feels really human and fragile and somewhere outside the sw Strong Female Character Warrior Queen thing. her introduction scene as an adult where she takes the fucking shovel and just starts swinging is one of my favorite things in sw.

i think the same could be said of a bunch of the individual characters in andor, who i deeply adore, especially cinta, vel, bix, and kleya. not that they're unpopular in the I Hate These Women Way fandom sometimes does but that you just don't really see much... about them. (i do wish things about bix's writing were different, but i am fascinated by her as a CHARACTER and the fact that not only was she part of the extremely nascent rebellion before cassian, before almost everyone we know, if you draw the lines she's probably REALLY central to the axis circuit which is.. fascinating. like because she has no reason to tell Anyone the Truth of her secret dealings, we actually know extremely little about her, and that fascinates me. also she's this woman stuck in a small town she's tied into the fabric of and that's this source of complex ennui and pain i really love seeing in genre fiction and would love to root around in some more.)

vel and cinta... HELLO... vel and cinta.... cinta and vel... my brain is always thinking about them. just a lil.

also! i think leida mothma is second only to dark vader in greatest villains of the star wars universe. she's annoying as hell and she's this generational ticking time bomb about what happens when the kids born into the empire swallow it, when they /aren't/ leia organa.

AU's where cassian drove the van for the aldhani rock group's cringe death metal band (or, if we're placing SW into the 1970's, the aldhani group's 60's scottish folk band.)

honestly extremely attached to any kind of thing where jyn and cassian have a deep connection to each other that isn't laterally a hallmark greeting card. like i actually really find the extremely close FWB vibe with them during the rebellion era to be tremendously interesting, and i don't think fandom does enough with the whole fact that maybe a 70's space-futuristic leftist army /might/ not have the same ideas around social organisation and intimacy as a a netflix rom com OMG ARE YOU GUYS LIKE TOGETHER TOGETHER???? (like i'm sure the goss on echo base was insane but i'm also not sure it might have been That.)

Anything which recognises the Real Fact that Rogue One AU's should be set in the 1970's and everyone should be wearing 70's fashions and there should be way more oblique mentions of bellbottoms and paisley. except arguably andor might be set in the 60's. in which case they should be wearing 60's fashions.

This might be summoning snakes into my house but... you know all the stuff i said about kidfic aus? turns out what i really dislike are bad kidfic aus! because they thing is is that i think jyn and cassian's narratives are profoundly focused on the question of What It Is to be Someone's Child, and sw in general is really interested in the questions about what it is to be someone's parent and someoen's child in extremity (how well they carry this out ESPECIALLy with women is debatable) and there's a lot of room to do some seriously interesting character study work and post-war How Do We Break These Cycles work if it's something aside from the kind of bioessentialist hey guys woman's purpose Fulfilled because she's had biological children/ narrative OR the you can tell how Healed jyn and cassian are and how Over the War is cause they have two (2) biological children in space!suburbia called lyra and galen scenario, which proliferates in fandom. basically what i'm saying is there's no weird indie movie about rey climbing into cassian's car at the Jack-Q service station to steal his potato chips and him being like WHOSE KID IS THIS i have to RETURN you so this isn't KIDNAPPING [terrible flashbacks] and rey being like nooo mister and then they go on a loopy roadtrip to find her parents when of course the answer is in the journey. also nobody's written the scenario of Ye Classic Space!Road Trip to The Beach and the kids in the back seat are like BISCUIT BARON BISCUIT BARON and cassian is squinting over the top of the steering wheel because he thinks he missed the turnoff and pulling ye old Hay Comida En La Casaaaaa but Jyn's just like actually every single Biscuit Baron in the galaxy is closed, just for today, and the only thing they sell is black coffee.

not to be like people would Care if they were white men BUT the amount of press and buzz and fics there would be if velcinta were white men like literally shut up about white war criminal superhero x white war criminal superhero when there's antifascist lesbian guerillas shooting fascists AND wearing twee hats in the highlands while they feed sheep in their lil space!scottish brokeback moutain moments. i think they're slept on as individual characters and as a ship especially when Cinta is one of the only women of color in the modern star wars and vel's story is on some level literally about queerness, being a queer woman in a conservative society (always hiding, always changing.)

I decided to make a welcome page blog.

About Me: Call me Mystical. I'm 23 (she/her), and I'm in the environmental field and I am busy in college (one more semester left). I’m also autistic and have type 1 diabetes (these are just random facts about me).

• Academic: Environmental, Plants, Animals, Mythology, History, Geography, Cryptozoology (because I think monsters are neat and it’s just harmless fun).

Your star wars au Shannon death makes me want to disappear (and your description of Bea's elbow stuff) asking this question has made me forget everything I've ever read tbh. I've been haunted by stuff I never finished, and I'll stumble over it and just get slapped in the face

from tmtl ch5, rewatching ep6 for the millionth time I got stuck on the fact that Bea's had to drive out to Ronda alone and then back with Mary and sit in the knowledge that they've lost Lilith too and their family of four has been cut in half in the blink of an eye

outline/v1: The return trip with Mary. Quiet, stilted questions. Not on the same wavelength, interrupting each other and apologising because they don't know how to fill the spaces that have been left for other voices.

v2: "Would you just look at me?" // "I can't. Because I look at you and all I see is her."

v3: "You're all I have left. Shannon's dead. Lilith's dead. Mary, you're all I have left." // "I can't." Mary's voice is hoarse. "Even just sitting here– You still use her soap." It's not a question. 24. How much prep work do you put into your stories? What does that look like for you? Do you enjoy this part or do you just want to get on with it?

it depends on the story; tmtl for each scene I had a one sentence outline for the exact emotional beats I wanted to hit, and then a paragraph outline with scene beats and callbacks, and then a bulletpoint outline to detail the exact shape of the scene. fic: nature is gonna end up with the same sort of treatment but probably less intense about it. tmau prep work has involved a shit ton of academic papers and spreadsheets. if it's not clear, I really love prep work, I haven't had as much opportunity for research work in my day-to-day lately so I've been really digging in. honestly fic: dads has been such a departure in that it's been an exercise for me in trying to do absolutely no planning

26. How do you get into your character’s head? How do you get out? Do you ever regret going in there in the first place?

I'll typically have a song assigned to a character for a specific fic and listen to that repeatedly if I'm having trouble getting into their mindset. getting out of it usually isn't that difficult, head empty brain go brr etc. but if I'm getting to stuck in something I go watch cooking videos on youtube tbh. there are a couple points I've hit where I've been writing something and had to take a step back and go 'okay, it's not good for me to be here right now I need to walk away' but I don't know that I regret those points so much as they give me more insight into myself

29. Where do you draw your inspiration? What do you do when the inspiration well runs dry?

I usually turn to my sad bangers playlist (which I've been familiarizing you with cas hehe) if I'm in the need for inspiration, and lately when I've been stuck on something I've gone and stared at @princington 's art until I'm Fixed (read: made worse (affectionate))

What’s something you’re good at vs. something you’re bad at?  I’m good being stupidly stubborn and sticking to things, even when I’m at my wits end. I’m bad at maintaining contact with people, even those I really care for. Sometimes its because of medical stuff, other times it’s because I just keep forgetting and don’t make the effort to send a message and check in. 

Dogs or cats? Kitty-cats 😻 I like visiting friends’ dogs and meeting them on the street, but I could never care for one like they’d need.

What’s something you would like to create content for? I’d like to get back to working on my original novel. It’s been on hold since the summer when I was put into an obikin chokehold and slammed into the wrestling mat.

What’s something you were excited about that turned out to be disappointing this year? Nothing! I was lucky this year; even the shitty stuff had a silver lining. Let’s hope that holds over for 2023...

Based on Xiono Story series (my fanfic)

Torra still felt gulity what happened at her husband's blanket. She knew his blanket was a gift from his uncle from years ago who he was used to love spending time with.

She forgot to feed her pet, Buggles which making him so hungry and looked anywhere that he could eat or bite. He looked at Kaz's sunflower blanket.

Even through Kaz forgive her but she still felt that she didn't deserve it.

At night, Kaz just finished doing his face mask and heading to the bed but quickly mentioned Torra was down as rubbing Buggles' back.

She took breath as staring at him with tears in her eyes "I feel guilty about ripped your special blanket. I know that you forgive me but I feel like...I don't deserve it. I started thinking if you'd...rather left me than this."

Kaz shook his head as wiping her tears "Torra, don't say like that. I know that you didn't mean that on purpose and I know how much you love me since you were acting crazy when we first time met."

Torra chuckled "But you chose me to race against with."

"Let's say that a nikto friend told everyone on this station after I accidentally talked about my dream to be the best pilot. It was driving me crazy." The couple laught.

At the same time, Buggled walked to Kaz and slept on his lap "But at least I survived." He rubbed his back.

"You see, Honeylatte. Even through I don't have stuffs to remember but at least I have good memories in my mind like Uncle John was used to put me on his shoulder and pretended to be my ship and we flew away." He told her.

"Since you told me this, I've been seeing you play that game with Ayumi and she really enjoy it." She replied.

"Yep, and I still would do that again."

"Until she's too heavy to carry." She teased.

"Hey... " "Kaz, no, stop it.." Kaz tickled Torra on her stomach, she laught loudly until the couple lay down on the bed.

After that, Kaz touched her cheek "Torra, no matter what happen between us, I won't leave you. You're a part of me that need to stick together with."

Torra took breath and smiled "You're a part of me too." Then the couple kissed each other while Buggles laid down between them.

"Sweet dream, honeylatte."

"Sweet dream, my love."

And they all fell asleep together.

This is my drawing for my Star Wars Resistance Modern AU fanfic on wattpad, Hope Inside.

I drew this two years ago. Let me tell you about this family.

Jarek Yeager adopted his three kids after he lost his biogical family during the accident.

First, he adopted Neeku when he was a baby, next he adopted Tam on the street who survived from the house fire when she was 13 years old, and lastly, Kaz. He mentioned that something off with him until he figured out that he was abused by his drunk father and took him to his house and overtime, Kaz felt safe and loved by his new family.

I just finished drawing Omega wearing a junior high school for my Bad Batch High School fanfic.

Here some things about her :

She's more comfortable wearing trousers than skirts but when she has to wear school skirt, she would always wearing leggings.

This school uniform is inspired by one of my uniforms when I was in elementary school 😅

She's more comfortable wearing boots than sneakers as you guys can see on this picture.

Coming Attractions!

First Monday of the month, so here we go.

As per usual, this also means an open question night--my askbox is always open, but I'll be actively keeping an eye on it tonight. I do take prompts, but am not necessarily fast in filling them. Any fandom I've posted about here or on AO3 is fair game, as is any of my original stuff.

Short one this month, because I didn't get much done last month, whoops...a big work project took up more brainmeats than I expected it would, ah well.

Mostly moved, mostly everything is sorted; a few things I still need to finish organizing/putting away/etc. But that should also free up some brainspace hopefully!

Anyway. Actual updates.

Star Wars:

Pretty much the same as last week--need to catch up on OTP meme fills; poking back at my original plan for last year's SWBB so I can use it for this year. Not a lot of progress, but hopefully this month will be better!

BSG:

Big Bang matches have gone out! I'm excited to see how everything turns out. And hopefully get actually back into writing the many plotlines that are floating around in my head, lol...particularly The Other Battlestar which still needs an Official title and has been waiting to come out of my head and get Shared for like. over a year. even discounting the like 8-10 year gap when I wandered away from the fandom...

I should be picking up my rewatch soon, too! I have the back half of season 3, plus season 4, and maybe the webisodes (I have access to Face of the Enemy but not Resistance, so we'll see if I actually watch those). Which does mean we're coming up on my absolute least favorite episode in the entire series, haha. I haven't even gotten to it yet and I'm already mad about it (and have found an Additional Reason to be mad about it that I hadn't had before! Yay!) But also after that I get Lampkin, who I love, and while season 4 is a mess in terms of cohesion/continuity it has some of my very favorite episodes in the entire series, So.

Castlevania:

I haven't actually sat down and watched Nocturne yet (mostly because of the aforementioned work stuff), so I haven't quite fallen back into this fandom yet. I do want to get back to Incinctus, and I had one other plot thread idea for another fic based on the first series (essentially, shifting Alucard's S3 timeline by six weeks so the night Sumi and Taka plan to attack him is the same night Greta's messenger gets there, and then see where things go from there).

It's kind of interesting--I have approximately zero knowledge of the games, apart from a few bits and pieces I've picked up from reading fics and/or hanging out on a discord server. Which, of course, has been talking a lot about Nocturne...but almost entirely in the context of how it relates to the game characters/plotlines it's drawing from. Which means I'm both...more and less hyped for it? I don't know, I'm not sure how to word how it's impacted my interest/excitement/etc. for the followup series, because a lot of the comments about certain characters/choices completely fly over my head but they Dominate the server and I'm like "...okay?"

Anyway, we'll see how I feel about it when I watch the series. And if I do end up building a VC crossover in my head (because like. armand and the theatre are right there and while I was able to confine myself to a quick Easter Egg reference in Incinctus...lol.)

Les Mis:

The next chapter of P&J is coming, I swear. Also planning to debut Acheron this month because...I mean I know it's technically a Groundhog Day AU set in June, but it feels appropriate to start posting it around Halloween? IDK XD

Original Fic:

Again I do need to catch up on OTP memes. I do like the one piece I put out this month, which was about the Horsemen in Lux. They're a Delight and I love them.

...yeah, that's about it. Like I said, short post this month because I didn't get much actual writing done last month. Hopefully October will be better for me (if nothing else, hopefully I actually will catch up on all the backlogged OTP Meme fills, lol...)
