Development: How did you come up with your character? Is their design still evolving? How do you think they might develop through the story?

I did a few runs through the demo enough to get a feel of the game and choices, flicking through a few eh names I use for like. Mobile games LMAO also trying out like the stage name and style and stuff. Used a generator for the band name lolllll and it was the first one that came up and immediately stuck with me I didn't bother trying again. As for name, Ms Jennifer's Body if you're out there. Also definitely influenced on style and approach with Envy The Clash at Demonhead (who was influenced by Emily Haines). I'm just mashing some fave things together and then producing an MC who has anxiety and depression and still in love with her ex.

So I left a lot of these non-existent or vague so people can plug in themselves and people they love BUT here’s who I picture 😍

Doc: I don’t really have an actor who fits her so I made this AI thing when I was thinking up the character? But I’ve pictured her as fairly petite (5’2”-5’4” ish?), small but not skinny, rounded but not thicc. Basically just the personification of softness and femininity. She’s got a lot of hair that’s wavy/curly that gets out of control easily and her personal style is the thrift shop version of Jess from New Girl. She looks like someone the apocalypse will chew up and spit out.

Andrew: my sweet baby angel! When we first meet him, he is 110% Lucas from Stranger Things. Fairly baby faced but brave in the face of it all - and still able to find happiness and joy. By the time Doc leaves the QZ, I’m kind of leaning Donald Glover? Someone mentioned they cast him as Andrew Garfield and I kinda love that too lol

Jess: Our third member of the codependency squad (who was honestly way understanding of her boyfriend/husband’s weird attachment and we love her for it) and resident comedian is, in my head, Doctor Who era Karen Gillan. Red hair, vibe of sass and strength but also naïveté (and so pretty that we can’t blame Andrew for gawking at her for months) we love her.

Derek: the good guy who might have been if it weren’t for trauma and Joel! He’s 40 year old James Marsden. Just… *chef’s kiss* Look between him, Joel and Tommy? Doc can PULL. Someone said they cast Oscar Isaac here and look… Oscar is like maybe the one man I might find more attractive than Pedro, it depends on the day BUT I cannot cast him as anything but a leading man. Oscar and Pedro can only be end game in my book (but I will accept any and all HC castings lol)

Kristen: Our favorite, competent as HELL trauma nurse! I pictured her as being unexpectedly feisty coming from a small, pretty, blonde package. Does she seem like someone you’d underestimate? Poor choice on your part but that’s her. Malin Akerman is who she is for me!

Marta: our tough still figuring it out assistant turned expert nurse! I wanted someone sweet but strong who could be both naive and brilliant, so Ana de Armas it is! Only realized just now that her name in Knives Out is also Marta lol I FORGOT THAT BUT OH WELL!

Elias: Our stalwart dogooder under the umbrella of FEDRA turned exhausted man trying to keep people alive, Elias is a kind hearted leader trying to do the best he can with what very little he has. His caring and drive I think are exemplified in Jimmy Smits - especially West Wing era Jimmy Smits at the beginning of the fic.

i DO care if this person does something on my blog. they have in the past broken their block of me trying to start drama in my askbox/sling accusations at me/make posts about them when they aren't. given some posts i have been made aware of, they're using an alt or unblocking me just to circle my blog and vague about everything from my fc choices to pointing out i am keeping tabs on who visits my page. that does directly involve me and my ability to run this blog.

Hello, Nonnie ! Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Jay and I have been trying to think of fcs for you and I realized in my search that as far as I can see, there aren't many older actresses with resources (I could be wrong but I really only found one,) so I did a small switcharoo and made the Almers from a vague area in South America for better choices. The older Almer could've also married into the family as a witch either as the mother or a step mother, so she wouldn't necessarily need to have specific latine roots. We'd like to keep her a person of color though ! I hope that helps and if you're still interested, here are a few ideas:

For Every “UGH” I Get I Will Say A Pet Peeve I (The Mun) Have About Roleplaying.

I feel like this is a very common one, but vague blogging about other people/blogs is a huge pet peeve of mine in the RPC or in life, really. I am a very firm believer of if you have such a huge problem with someone that you HAVE to talk about it, then it would be more productive if you went to that person and had a discussion instead of gossiping like a coward on dash. That's what cowards do. Be an adult, go to that person and talk it out.

Im not a fan of the "well i cant rp with that blog because they use [insert random fc]" because that's mad childish. If you have certain opinions on an fc/canon character than that is your problem, not the mun's. You might have just cut out a valuable opportunity to write with some of their other muses instead. No one said you had to interact with that particular muse. In addition, 9 times out of 10 you don't own that damn fc anyway lol. So who are you to deem someone unworthy of your time for a specific choice in fc? You're just being mean at that point.

This is a big one; Im very tired of the cliquey nature of tumblr these days. I came back to tumblr Jan 2022 because i missed the beautiful connections I made before i left in 2014. I met some of my best friends in those days, and back then every one rp'd with everyone. Yeah there was drama as in every RPC but as long as you could write legibly and you weren't a jerk, everyone had a great time. Nowadays i just feel like people get in their little groups and rp with the same 3 or 4 people. I understand everyone has standards, I do too and I wont be changing mine for anyone, but I feel like I give most people a fair chance if I see content i like on their blog especially if i go so far as to follow back. Ive seen several of my friends, including myself attempt rping/plotting/become mutuals with people and not even getting the time of day. But replies are flying out to those same 3 people lol. Im not here to tell anyone who they can or can't rp with, but don't become mutuals with people you dont even plan to rp with. If you're going to ignore everyone who attempts to rp with you, then you should move to a more private setting and stop wasting everyone's time lol

☄: what the writing process was like

This was hard so I left it up to FC vote during our maps night and they decided on "Rogue's Prelude", my actual longfic about our favorite damn rogue and my made-up a backstory for him.

So my 2 longfics for Thancred happened back in 2018. I had gotten back into the game in 2017 with Stormblood, had rolled up C'oretta and Aeryn, got C'oretta through the game, started to play Aeryn...and realized I was in Trouble. I had no idea how to run a OCNPC romance storyline but it was apparently happening regardless, so I had to figure it out.

In Feb 2018 things came to a head at work, I was fired--on the same day I fell in the shower and bruised and wrenched the heck out of my shoulder--and I started to go to therapy for the absolute funk I was in (some of it due to that previous work place sending me downward).

So I had a lot of free time between job hunting and temp work and a stint of jury duty. Free time I really needed, honestly, and by the time I got into my current workplace later that summer/fall I was in a much better headspace. And the creativity was trickling back in after a years-long dry spell and I needed to figure out how to write my favorite NPC, to figure out who he was by himself, so I could eventually smoosh his face into my WoL's face, or something, IDK, I was still figuring out this "shipping" thing.

I'd shaken some rust off with the 2017 FFXIV Write. "Walk in the Wilds" was like cracking loose locked-up joints. I felt much more confident when I decided to tackle the ideas I had for Thancred's backstory, especially when I realized how much longer it was going to be.

There was a lot of research; into 1.0 things, into Louisoix, into actual real life Thieves' Cant, into various Limsan quests and stories, into all things Thancred available at the time. I outlined, roughly, with lots of bullet points and random notes, scene ideas, dialogue ideas. Some things made it in, some things did not. I ended up reworking my idea for the climactic final battle entirely as the original iteration on the Isle of Umbra wasn't working out. I made up plenty of things (and some folks ask me if X is canon or something they read in my fic which is wild to me).

I had a vague idea of the overall, but the actual plotting and planning of each chapter happened as I wrote them, maybe only 2 chapters ahead at most; I'm a very impatient writer. The epilogue I got the idea for maybe a third of the way through, and got a few revisions as I went along to fit the story.

It also kept me sane and gave a focus for my anxiety as I went through training and the first few weeks at my new job, given the absolute blow to my confidence the previous one had dealt me. Even if I sometimes found, in my eagerness and anxiety, time during work to write. The eager, lovely commentary of my readers helped a lot during that time.

I haven't had quite such a manic creative period as that weird summer of 2018, but I've been happily busy and stable at my job, and have managed to stay relatively steady with smaller writing projects and even sometimes posting them. There's things I look back and would change/do differently now in "Prelude" and "Walk" but overall I'm still quite proud of them, and I guess I figured out how to write Thancred more or less OK (at least I stopped worrying about smooshing his face with my WoL's, though many times they prefer cuddling with a book together, those nerds), and learned what works for me when I get the hankering to write longfic, as they helped me get my writing groove back.

Hard to explain a specific process 4 years later, but the timing definitely had a hand in the vague planning and definite execution of a 37k+ longfic that required in game and real world research and making up a buncha stuff that seemed semi-plausible. Lotsa notes. Lotsa throwaway scenes and dialogue bits. Stitching it together, not as much editing and revision as I do these days (hrm, maybe too much these days...), and a fic fell out while I was dealing with Life, and one of the ways I managed to get through said Life happening to me at that time.

Thank goodness for our blorbos, being there when we need 'em.

Top 5 superheros?

Hopefully these answers aren't too cliche. ;)

#1 - Nightcrawler

What can I say? Even thought Batman was my introduction to superhero comics way back in the 90's, it wasn't long before my friend started introducing me to X-Men and Excalibur. She was really into Kitty Pryde but I immediately fell in love with this blue dude. (Thankfully they appeared in a lot of comics side by side so she had lots of books for me to read.) I had a pirate phase because of this guy. I watched a lot of Errol Flynn. I have Flaming Carrot comics on my shelf because of that one time he had a FC t-shirt in one scene. He's my rotten soldier, hes my sweet cheese, my good-time boy.

#2 - Honey Badger (Gabby Kinney)

Maybe the only Marvel comic book gal I've ever cosplayed? She's just... fun. I appreciate that even at her young age, she's really been through it. As a clone "granddaughter" of Wolverine, she's got that tragic backstory down pat, but she looked at all that trauma, and how Logan and Laura responded to it, said, "nah" and went on about her life caring about animals and being besties with Deadpool. There's probably a metaphor in there about generational trauma or something, but needless to say, I'm just glad there's a superhero girl out there who wears pants and looks and acts her age.

#3 Spider-Man (all of them)

I know, everyone is so surprised. The most popular superhero in the whole world. XD As a middle schooler, I lived on a steady diet of Gargoyles and the Spider-Man animated series, both of which introduced a lot of (dubious) scientific concepts before my science class got anywhere close to talking about stuff like genetics or cloning. I know Peter Parker is written to be this supposedly relatable everyman, so it's not hard to project on to him, but that means there's a lot of *there* there. I think Spider-Man is also one of the heroes who best understands his position as a symbol. Other characters go about their super-lives, making choices that they think are right, but in the back of his head, I think Spidey is always aware of the fact that kids look up to him, and that holds him to a stricter code than a lot of heroes. He walks this razor thin line and is stressed out about it all the time, and that's what the kids call a complete mood.

#4 Foggy Nelson

Putting up with Matt Murdock's crap is a super-power, actually.

No, but seriously. I LOVE a best friend type (see also: Nightcrawler) who provides that pragmatic (but not gloomy) perspective that other "more exciting" hero types need. They're not just there for comic relief, or so bad things can happen to them when shit goes down, they're essential, and Foggy performs his role admirably in basically every incarnation.

#5 The Bowler (Mystery Men)

Shut up, I'm putting a Mystery Men entry on here because that movie kicks ass and more people should watch it. I was vaguely aware of this movie when it came out (because of my aforementioned interest in Flaming Carrot comics) but I wasn't in a position to go out and see it. A few years later I picked it out of a bargain bin and it rocked my socks off. Mystery Men's greatest crime is being ahead of its time. It's a pastiche that came out before the world was oversaturated with big budget super-flix. And the Bowler is easily best of the bunch. I have a soft spot for Janeane Garofalo who brings the exact energy this role needs. I love her for being a competent hero who is still flawed and has her own shit going on, and I love that she's just... a woman out there doing her best... FOR REVENGE. I painstakingly made her costume for Halloween one year and literally nobody got it and actually I do not care, it's dope.

Hello lovely! I mean you can fancast whomst ever you want for these characters, I'm not trying to put anybody in a box here. I get asked for fancasts a lot and after the first time I've largely stopped answering because I feel like people take them a little too seriously (or I guess maybe take what I say a little too seriously).

Really the only fancast I've pushed at all is Kedar William-Stirlings because a) I just really like him for that character and b) I think, every once and a while, it's nice to suggest someone for the marauders who isn't ATJ, Andrew Garfield or Ben Barnes. Not that they aren't all lovely, but after 10+ years I feel like we could branch out a little. But honestly you do you boo, there is no "right" or "real" fancast and most of the time I feel like people just use the OG cast anyway, so I don't think you have to worry :)

First of all, I'm really excited to hear you've finished my secret satan already and I'm excited to see it! I have to wait for the entire month though but I'll be hyped up!

Second, yes Herbert's, TF2 fan character, first name is a direct reference to horror character Herbert West from Re-Animator, both a book and movie. His last name [redacted] is also a reference to other horror character of same category of mad doctors, from [redacted].

I'll put all of the answer under the read more, including drawing of him for those who don't know who I'm talking about! Decapitated doodle ahead, peeps.

So the deal with Herbert is, he's headless. Anatomically all correct, decapitated. Flesh and all. Got even some of spine sticking out. I have some details and thoughts how his entire *gestures vaguely* thing works, but nothing too sensible and not everything has been figured out. Most of the time I just say "it just works".

TLDR it's a respawn glitch.

He has surgically intentionally removed his own head on purpose as a choice. He discovered this possibility by being exposed to "a respawn glitch" (I have to allow respawn existing in my aus because I have the worst-at-their-job mercenaries as my fcs) when he was still relatively new Medic hired by BLU. An enemy Demoman decapitated him with his eyelander, but through some bizard glitch in the system, while his head could be considered as "dead", his body still behaved like it was living and consious. He had lost his main senses, though, but could still walk and attempt to figure out blindly what was going on and was somewhat aware of his state. Demoman finished him soon after and he returned to his normal head-included self.

Fascinated by this - and having already immense fear of being perceived by other people and other issues - he did some experimenting with himself and trying to recreate that glitch under controlled circumstances. Eventually, he managed to control it, live and function without his head physically attached to his body and nervous system. He can somewhat sense normally (although limited field of vision), communicate verbally and otherwise control his body after some rehabilitation. His nerves are kinda sorta still connected to his brain, just not physically but through [insert some scifi-respawn-technology bullshit here]. His "head" and brain is still inside the respawn system, a copy of sorts, that his body is attached and connected to.

There's a little chip in his spine right at the end of the neck that holds this connection through respawn. I did some anatomical messing up here shhhh There's also a tiny bit of his nuclear extension left in..... SOMEWHERE that keeps his organs still running even without the main brain. As long as he keeps injecting some of the medigun healy juice into him and maintains the basic care on the exposed neck area, and all the modifications stay intact, he's immune to all complications like infections or such.

Somewhere in the timeline, he also managed to get rid of his head and destroy it completely while this glitch and maintaining still holds up.

What aren't I working on? Let's do something old and something new, because my brain is actually active of late.

1- Something Old

Kendis: I'm currently working on them re: a multiverse storyline that's been recurring in the RP I have her in, and there's a current event up.

What Inspired Kendis?: I honestly don't remember what inspires half my characters 1234ew. I DO recall, wanting - as most desires usually strike me - to make a sibling for my friend's character, Ben. And I definitely wanted that teenaged energy (og Kendis - as Kendis, and not my first incarnation of Ben's baby sister - was 18). A lot of what influenced Kendis was wanting to catch that 'drunk girl you meet in the bathroom and becomes your strongest advocate' energy.

I like to sometimes dip into canons I know, so I'd say some of Cordelia Chase influenced Kendis (in the blunt aspect, in the seemingly shallow/egotistical, in the 'wtf is the supernatural ... well, fuck I guess I'm going to help you fight after all, ugh', in the being a lot smarter than you might think, in the unexpected vulnerability), especially Cordelia vis a vis Buffy in Buffy's vulnerable moments (never over Cordy, for all that wish-verse existed, being the one continously to have Buffy's back when shit was rotten).

Buffy herself is a factor, especially for Kendis as I play them now. And Caroline Forbes. (All these white women qwerwawq lmao) But Cordy was the OG.

2 - Something New (RP Style)

Ori Zhou: I mostly finished his app. But I haven't played him yet. I've dipped him a little bit into the RP canon, woven his past life and abilities into the plot I am working on for Kendis, but I haven't written him written him yet. But he counts, because I'm going to send his app soon ... and because I love him so much already.

What Inspired Ori?: So many things. This is easier because I started his app like two weeks ago. So, okay. OG Autumn Grove had a group of teens to mid-twenties called GAS (Gender Agnostic Sisterhood) and AG 2.0 doesn't have many YouthsTM, so I was like OG GAS characters have either grown or moved away, but I miss them. So, let me try my hand at another youth (because I TOTALLY need more characters that I don't play because Kendis has been loud and obnoxious lately).

My friends wanted someone with a magical girl past life. And I really wanted to create a storyteller sort (think Henry from OUAT, think Scheherazade), so I'm going to work on smashing that. I'm really proud of his powers tho. I'm also trying to challenge myself to play a himbo. I haven't before, so in his current life, my baby is a himbo with self-worth issues. A lot of his vibes is inspired by the quote 'how am i going to be an optimist about this' and the song '100 Bad Days' by AJR. So many little things went into this beeb, but Ima stop here. His pb/fc is Chella Man because Chella is deathly too cute (and I need more trans mascs in my roster. Like wtf Nat. MOAR!!!!)

3 - Something New (IF Style)

Isidor "Izzy" Sero: I can't say I'm working on Iz so much rotating him (and my other Wayfarer MC) in my head like a pig on a spit and very, very occasionally poking him with a stick. Izzy is present in the background in my mind but he's not active. Still, he's here because my Wayfarer MCs, like my Speaker and Bloomic OCs, are OCs that I definitely want to do more with and be current on but I don't have that strong a spark on yet. So I work on them passively.

What Inspired Isidor?: MOSTLY my desire for a Sero kid but also him coming out to be the 'opposite of Peitho' (my other Wayfarer MC). Basically, sometimes when I play an IF and I have a vague desire for another MC, a concept will solidify from the Choices Not Chosen. And that is how Izzy came about. A lot of 'what if I had chosen this instead' created more of a tortoise than a hare type of character. He's very slow going to start, but when he starts he goes. I also like to play gender roles with certain IFs -- particularly with fantasy/supernatural sorts. So, though he's very strength based, he's - as mentioned - not the first to jump into the fray with fits flying. Though he may seem the quiet, "stoic" sort, when he does speak he's spoken directly to -- yet he is also highly fucking sentimental. And though that governs so much of his credo, bein a Sero kid he apprecites adaptiblity and resourcefulness. (Actually that's one of the things I like about Wayfarer, so much of the in game lore and character backgrounds help inspire and shape your OCs as you go along. So, where I'd be a little more set with an OC in another IF, here there's a lot more wiggle room).

PSA about HollywoodUndeadHQ

Alight I know I made a post about this before and here I am having to make another post about this since it was brought up yet again by another rpt and I am tired of people assuming what happened and speaking on my own behalf when they have no right doing so. The reviews I have found so far were posted on  @twiggyrpt and @p-parkersrph​ (they got one of the anons from the opposing group) 

- The ooc list doesnt show people's names because there is a discord server with everything you need (follow lists, events, activity checks, etc) because there are groups sending hate purposely just because they can and taking any chance they can to jump down hollywoodundead's throat because it gives them a thrill for some odd reason. I know with 100% it is a certain group that has been harassing Hollywoodundead and I have screenshot proof of it being them as well as IP tracking since they failed to realize I put that on my site the second I started getting those messages. As well as checking the anon tracking through my rph blog. 

- Also the comment about ‘more asian fcs’, and ‘more kpop bois’. is not me fetishizing asians. its me wanting to see more of my own race in the rp. I am asian so yes I want more asian representation. All the other rps I have been a part of never associated with my fc's because of them being asian whereas the second I joined HollywoodUndeadHQ they had accepted me with open arms and didn't let the race of my character get in the way of plots or interactions. Whether it be more kpop bois (which might i mind you i do have one as a fc in that group and would love to see more representation around since I don't see them basically anywhere so asking to see more isn't a bad thing) or more asian fcs the moral of the story is I want to see more representation and encourage that representation. 

-Now to address the stupid bs about the whole changing bae suzy to nina dobrev. I was the one who changed the character. As someone who is Asian American, I wrote the bio without any race in mind and then I played with the idea of making them asian fc for some more representation but the more I played with that fc I realized that it didn't seem to fit well. I was already going back and forth between suzy and nina originally and I thought that nina better fit the anne character. And I would use suzy for another character in the future that I am currently in the works of trying to put together. 

- If you need screenshot proof of me going back and forth between suzy and nina BEFORE the character was even posted I can give you screenshots proving this was not whitewashing or whatever they claim it to be. When I originally wrote the bio I specifically made it vague in case I did decide to go with using Suzy for another character and used my second choice nina as the new fc of said character. I wanted it to be nina originally but I also wanted to give my asian fc a chance instead but in the end it just didn’t fit like I originally wanted it to. So I will be using suzy as a fc for another character. It's simple as that. I just wanted to straighten that out so that the group that purposely was jumping down my throat about the decision I made behind the scenes stops trying to condemn the group for a decision that I had made on my own. I am not going to sit by and watch people send hate to a group that has been nothing but warm and welcoming to me ever since I joined. 

- I was also thinking about changing one of my characters who is currently white to being a poc I am just looking for the right fc for them currently.

BACKGROUND / CANON LORE

Howl had always been a talented wizard who earned his life working for many different people including the governments of different warring regions.

He likes to woo people but specially women just to dump them afterwards; which began the story of mothers telling their daughters to take care, otherwise an evil wizard would come to devour their hearts.

He has also invented several rumors about himself to keep people at bay, so his castle and himself are rather feared in the region. (And with such a filthy place to live in I would be mad scared and keeping people away so kudos to Sophie for cleaning that mess).

Howl made a pact with Calcifer so he could become more powerful, but giving away his heart in exchange.  LISTEN he thinks of himself as heartless, but he actually feels very deeply and his dramatic nature is proof of that.

I don’t wanna add spoilers for those who haven’t watched it, but eventually Howl founds himself unable to run away from all the mess he got himself into and so, he has to face the consequences of his actions with the help of Sophie and his friends.

How long has your character been here

Around two years, but he thinks he has grown up here in DC.

What is your character's job

He is a consultant for the FBI and some politicians. Seems to have vast knowledge on different topics and an odd yet very accurate intuition and good luck. He doesn’t like paperwork or chasing around the bad guys so he sticks to talking and lets the big guys do the rest.

Where has your character been pulled from in their fandom

The end of the movie, although he doesn’t remember anything at all aside of vague flashes of information.

Has any magic affected your character

Yup! While he retains his abilities, his memories are wrecked and doesn’t remember anything, but he keeps having these dreams about a flying castle, stars and fields of flowers. He keeps sketches about these dreams at home, but he hasn’t managed to make any sense of them just yet.

Howl does little magic tricks like waving a hand to turn on/off the lights or pull closer something so he doesn’t have to get up and get it, but he honestly thinks it is something normal that everyone can do, he doesn’t pay much attention to it and when he brings it up at work, people usually just think he is fooling around. He’s still a player that rarely sleeps on his bed each night; he also has different living properties nd keeps moving between them. This man doesn’t know why he cannot settle and feels uncomfortable after spending too much time in one spot.

He’s still very extroverted and friendly, but tends to keep people at arms length because he is emotionally unavailable and doesn’t feel capable of keeping up with social life or feelings.

He still calls himself Wizard as a way of saying he is one who solves other people’s problems, but he has no idea, the title fits him quite literally.

Dante always felt a special connection with nature, and his grandmother took notice of this early on. She taught him about herbs, and their properties, rituals and magic. To young Dante, everything his Nona taught him seemed possible. His parents tried to dissuade Nona from teaching Luca these things about a supernatural world, but when they realized she would still teach him in secrecy, they figured it was best to just let them be.

In her deathbed, when Dante was 15, Nona told him that their family had once produced a strong bloodline of Druids, but that they had forgotten their duties as emissaries between the supernatural and the natural world. And thus, their powers had waned and weakened. Until Dante was born. She told him to listen to the call of nature within him, and to never let it die, to bring back purpose to the Santoro bloodline.

In high school, other kids either made fun of Dante’s guarded personality, or just flat out ignored him, so he led a relatively lonely life. He made a few close friends, but he really came out of his shell in college. One of his teachers was a Druid, like himself, and mentored him through the four years Dante attended college. He even managed to fall in love, although the relationship was a bit rocky, and wouldn’t be long lived.

Now, Dante moved to Beacon Hills, as he felt a strange pull, a low humming that guided him towards the town in California. He applied for a job as a teacher’s assistant in Ambrose University, so that he could stay long term, trying to figure out why this place called to him. But if he was to be honest with himself, he was not just running towards something, but also running away from his old live in New York.

Para Sample (2+ Paragraphs): The wind howled like a wolf, ruffling the leaves of the trees, a looming bodiless creature rushing through the woods. The pungent scent of sap curled into his noise, as he breathed in the forest air. With his eyes closed, he could almost see it, beyond his eyelids, a gnarly shape spidering across the forest floor. Power, raw natural power. Luca opened his eyes, and froze. Two golden eyes glowed in the dark, and the moonlight shone upon rows of sharp white teeth, claws like daggers digging into the substrate, ready to pounce. His hand moved instinctively to his pocket, searching for the mountain ash dust, but it wasn’t there. The wolf lurched forward, mouth open, and Luca gasped.

The sheets were drenched in sweat, and his head was swimming, from standing up too fast. Luca searched for the alarm clock. 3 AM. He let out a small sigh. Nona would be able to tell him what these dreams meant. Or maybe she would, as usual, give him a nonchalant and vague opinion of what the dreams meant. They were not premonitions, Luca knew that much. They were a byproduct of that incessant buzzing that beaconed him to the so accurately name Beacon Hills. He pulled the covers off of himself, shuddering as the cold air came in contact with his wet skin. Luca noticed he had one missed call, and as he picked the phone up, he saw his mother’s contact popping up. He smiled softly, and picked up.

“Mama, do you know what time it is?” He asked her, fondness underlying his voice.

“I just have a bad feeling about this whole moving away thing…” One could wonder if the Druidic blood ran in Maria’s blood, just a little bit. But she was simply a mother hen. His spark came from his father’s side of the family.

“Si, I know. But I need to rest, it’s my first day tomorrow.” He ran a hand down his face. “Look, Mamma, I promise I’ll call you every day, if it will make you feel better. But right now, I have about two hours of sleep left, before I have to get ready for work.”

There was a long pause from the other side, and then she let out a defeated sigh. “Si. Alright. Ti amo.”

“Ti amo.” He said, hanging up. He placed the phone down on his bedside table, and froze as two golden orbs stared at him from outside his window, three floors down. Luca swallowed, and held his gaze with the beast. Any trace of sleep escaped him as he sensed another pair of golden eyes just on the edge of the woods.
