So I have a long complicated and tragic backstory for Warriors. because Hyrule Warriors is my favorite game right now, and I don't have an excuse to talk about him very much. Then I realized the internet exists so here's something nobody asked for.
My Hyrule Warriors Link headcanon backstory:
So Hyrule Warriors Link was born in the Hebra mountains. He was born to two well respected members of the community. He lived there for about 3 years before tragedy struck his home. A band of marauding monsters rated his small village. Killing his mother and many of the other people in the village, Link has very few memories of Hebra because after his mother's tragic death his father moved with him to Castle Town.
In Castle Town things don't go any better for poor Link. His father, distraught with grief, turned to drinking away his loving wife's memory, the pain of losing her too much to bear. As a result the 3-year-old Link was severely neglected and a few kind Neighbors were the only reason he was cared for.
Something of an interlude to this section of the story. This is when Link's father met Linkle’s mother and she reminded him of his lost love. After a few flings he wound up bearing Linkle as a result. Linkle's mother never knew that he had another kid.
By the time Link turns somewhere between 6 or 7 His father drinks himself to death. Link is left homeless with no money. It's not long before he is swept up by one of the Coliseum gladiators. He is branded a Slave and sold. As a Coliseum Kid raised around thieves, beggars, prostitutes and gladiators. He knows everything about the kinds of things a kid his age shouldn't know about. He fights the other Coliseum kids to win his gladiator master beer money. If he wins he gets to eat that night if he loses, he's beaten. He wins his fair share of fights and loses his fair share of them. But he sees the other Coliseum kids as his siblings.
His master always threatened to sell him to a brothel, once he was 14 and they were legally willing to take him. So he was forced to keep his hair very long because it made him prettier and therefore worth more. By the time he was 12 he had waist length hair. When he was 13 his master was killed in an arena fight and he ran back to the streets. Link went to the higher class section of Castle town because he knew no one would ever look for him there. He cut his hair to the top of his shoulder blades and tried to dress like he was at least a middle class kid.
But it wasn't very convincing.
When trying to steal anything valuable out of a house, he was caught by the city guard. Who started to beat him just as Impa was walking past. She stops them, seeing potential, she brings Link into the military under the guise of paying penance for his thievery, by doing two years of military training.
His time in the military at first was an extremely difficult adjustment. He was terrified of everything, thinking if he failed some sort of training sequence or lost a sparring round, he would be beaten and starved for it. One time he broke another recruits arm for trying to steal his food. Turns out that recruit was just trying to ask him a question and had reached a little too close to Link's bowl.
Eventually he did learn that their idea of punishment wasn't nearly as bad as what he'd already endured at a much younger age. With this realization he became insufferable. In his mind they weren't really going to do anything that bad. It became a whole lot easier to break all the rules without being afraid of the repercussions. Impa saw the potential in him and didn't want that to go to waste. Despite how unruly of a child Link was, he was very good at what he did. He was such an incredible fighter, Impa just had to find a way to get him to listen. So she did, they made a verbal contract, since at this point Link couldn't read, that she would have rights of punishment over him, and that he listened to his commanding officers. In exchange she would train him personally, to be much more than any run of the mill Hylian Soldier. So she set out to create the perfect blend between Shika ideals and Hylian teamwork and collaboration focused strategies.
By the time he was 16 the war of eras kicked off for real. He became a captain and the hero of courage. When the game's events kicked off, I had cannon that he was not quite 17 at the beginning of the war. Making him the youngest captain they'd ever had in the Hylian military. Especially considering the fact that legally he wasn't even supposed to be in the military until he was 17. But for the war's sake they were willing to turn a blind eye to that.
so this is his backstory. I have so many headcanons about Warriors someone please ask me. I want to rant more. I know no one asked for this but I had fun writing this. There is so much that I skipped over for the sake of not making a monstrously long post. So if anyone's interested in hearing the rest of the stories please feel free to ask.

Sorta stimmy links stuff, and also v inspired by @triforce-of-mischief and her fic series Overcome (about trypanophobic Lege) hoping that they like this fic and find comfort in it bc it sounds like it's been a rough few days.
⚠️Trigger warnings for mention of the cause of trypanophobia/brief discussion of it. Also some descriptions ppl may find claustrophobic bc I have headcanons of Hyrule liking very tight spaces. BUT this is primarily supposed to be fluffy and comfort-y
It got a lot longer than I thought lol
---------
"I feel like a blanket would be more appropriate, 'Rule," Legend deadpanned.
He stared as the other hero wiggled into the small triangular gap he made between travel-packs.
"Nope," Hyrule popped the 'p', "this is better."
Legend shrugged and reclined to support his weight on his hands behind him while Hyrule fidgeted into the small trap he made for himself.
Then he wheezed out what felt like all the air in his lungs as Hyrule's head smacked into his stomach unexpectedly.
"Oh. I thought you were still behind me, behind me."
Legend couldn't even be mad with Hyrule's big eyes and smile staring up at him. He wheeled again, still catching his breath, before motioning for the other Link to sit up again. Legend scooted himself forward in the same reclined position until his shoulder was roughly lined up with Hyrule's back.
"There," he bumped an elbow into 'Rules back, "you can lay back now."
Hyrule did so with a happy little hum, pulling the two bags around his elbows in tighter before relaxing back fully. He squirmed for a second, pulling out scraps of fabric left over from ruined clothes and began twisting and braiding them into a rope.
"Comfy?" Legend snorted a laugh through his nose.
"Yep!" Hyrule popped the 'p' once more with a huge grin.
--------
Legend had been on edge all day after yesterday's fight.
More like yesterday's after-fight.
Hyrule couldn't count the number of times Legend's hands went to pick at and worry the edge of the bandage around his bicep. How many times he took a wide berth around Warriors and Time. How quiet he had been all day. The quiver and bitter-sour blackberry taste of fear weaved into Legend's essence.
They stopped for camp a bit earlier than usual, only because the path ended up shorter than anticipated and they found the spot Four said he needed to visit quickly.
The minish woods were sweetened with magic like candied grapes that had Hyrule feeling giddy and recharged.
The clearing they were in was near what looked like a miniature temple with a vast flat of lush green grass on top that sung of little motes of magic. It gave Hyrule an idea and he sprinted off to jump the small gap and little trickling stream of water in front of it.
Twilight shouted out in surprise and reached for 'Rulie as he ran off, but Four stopped him.
Four smiled after Hyrule, taking a moment to... listen? to something before turning over his shoulder to shout.
"LEGE! Hyrule's gone off the path again."
Legend turned and glared at Four for a moment before taking a deep breath and shouldering both his and Hyrule's packs over his good arm.
Hyrule grinned as he bounced on the balls of his feet, hair whooshing with the motion before continuing to carefully run his way up to the raised area. Something about it spoke of warmth to him, and like everywhere else in this forest, he kept the feeling that light and careful steps were a must.
When Legend bridged the gap between them, Hyrule took the bags with exaggerated care. He avoided touching Legend's good or bad arm and instead of grabbing the other's hand like he wanted to, he held his own out in offering.
Legend hesitated. Hyrule smiled and turned to keep walking with his hand still an open palmed invitation.
He felt Legend grab the tips of his fingers after a moment. If that was all he could tolerate, Hyrule was proud he made that step.
Legend followed, cautious and confused at Hyrule's winding path. The slowed pace, though, he was grateful for. Ever since patch-up last night he felt cotton-headed and on edge.
Wars has needed Time to hold-
Legend shook his head violently, shaking the world onto a new axis. He felt his breath hitch and drew back his hand like the touch burned.
"There is a step up in front of you, Lege."
Hyrule's words regrounded him briefly. He took a shaky breath in and nodded. He climbed up the small slope to stand atop the flat of emerald grass.
Hyrule tossed down his bag and gently placed Legend's and fiddled with them to make a short a-frame gap.
"Sit?"
<I'm fine.> Legend signed. He hadn't felt like talking all day. Not even sure if he could had he wanted to.
"Please? Try. It is like a hug but nobody is really touching you."
Legend felt a stab of panic again, thinking back to his wounds getting tended.
"You can push them off or make it as small as you want. A safe hide. Just here, your stuff, and the grass and sun."
Hyrule was leaning back and lazily running his hands through the warm blades of grass as if that was the only thing to want in the world.
Of course it could be his world is near-dead.
Legend quashed the negative thoughts as they tried to bubble up.
<Okay. I'll try.>
Even with Hyrule facing away, Legend knew he saw.
He sat next to the carefully positioned packs and tried to scoot his way under the way Hyrule would. Elbows and knees protesting, but even with that and the sour mood he had been stuck in it felt silly and he couldn't help the faint flutter of a laugh stir in his chest.
<Nobody will believe you got me to wiggle into a bag-tent like an inchworm,> he joked.
Hyrule just smiled, and for a second Legend wasn't sure if the traveler had seen him signing. But Hyrule stood and held the packs apart just enough for Legend to wiggle between them much more comfortably.
Hyrule sat behind Legend. Close but not touching. The bags dropped to lean against each other again, pressing the faintest pressure onto his chest and arms. None of the fear of restraint or hands on his skin stirred. Deeper breaths settled behind his ribs, and Legend felt some of his tense discomfort ease away.
"You can lean on me, if you want. Take a load off and breathe. It is safe here. You are safe here."
Legend wanted to, badly, but his chest tightened again. A split second of emotion jolting forward to choke him again. His eyes stung.
He dipped his head back cautiously and found Hyrule's shoulder solidly in place. He took a shaky breath, and another. The sun was warm, it was quiet and smelled like sweet lemon grass and pine. His breath hitched again on a sob, loose items in their bags jingling with the movement.
"It's okay," Hyrule said, swaying slightly but still a solid presence behind Legend. "I've got you when you're ready."
Legend broke.
After some time spent in an exhausted haze, Legend realized he had fallen asleep and was now waking up. He was half buried under rucksacks with his head on Hyrule's lap, warm orange afternoon sun heating him, and a steady weight pressed to his shoulder.
He took an unhindered breath in, heaving a huge sigh-turned-yawn. The scrap-rope Hyrule was working on swayed in front of his eyes. The boy was still gently swaying and humming, short snippets on repeat.
"Thanks..." his voice cracked with the word after going all day without using it.
"Any time."
----
It had been a good few hours since Legend and Hyrule had taken off. Four had separated himself after a lot of easing fears to go see the Minish.
They had spent those hours catching up with the small folk, and doing a few dispatches of pesky spiders or other favors.
After finishing those tasks, Four met with the Minish Elder in this village and they walked through the halls of one of the buildings Four liberated years back. They exited the doors into the warm orange glow of late afternoon to stand at the river's edge to finish talking.
Giggling and excited chatter tumbled down the slope of the building's walls, and Four climbed up to peek over the ledge.
Hyrule and Legend were leaning together, fast asleep, and a dozen or so minish were cuddled up to, or climbing on the two of them. Excited chatter about them smelling the same as Four and having the same soft aura to them filtered over.
Four scrambled back down and relayed the sight to the Elder before promising to come back again in the morning.

Hey, I’m not sure how to explain this but getting straight to the point, I’m the person who runs the yandere-linked-universe blog and I’m pretty sure you’re pinkittwice.
So, I was just wondering what ideas you might have about the chain being yandere for one person. Like, what would the dynamic be and how they would behave as yanderes, you know that kind of stuff.
I hope it’s not too much to ask but I’m just curious to see what you might think of it since you’re pretty much the only person on the sight that I know of who also writes things involving lu and the reader. I’m not unhappy or dissatisfied in any way but it does get a little lonely being the only person who writes stuff like this. Sorry if this is too weird.
Masterlist
Yahaha~! You found me!
Everybody go check out their stuff @yandere-linked-universe
They do cool art sometimes and are even writing a whole fic which you can find right here.
It's really well written and I'm excited to see how the story progresses and where it goes- especially endgame.
And I'm assuming the ask means if they were yandere in the same circumstance than in the story.
That being said, I'm still going to apply the rules I have set for the Links. Like how Sky was never with his Zelda and similarly how Time and Malon never really happened. As for Wind, he will not be platonic unlike in the fic mentioned above- I will explain this in his section I promise.
Also, disclaimer, I'm not good at horror and I've never written for these types of characters before. But if you want headcanons then I'll provide the brainstorm that I've been cooking up of ever since I got this ask. (And it was a while ago I'm sorry for the wait.)
I'm also including some songs that I think best fit their rose tinted glasses ideal. Not necessarily yandere and can apply to Link being in love with you in general but it's as close as I'm going to get to making a playlist.
I might come back and change them to stalker songs and add these songs to a separate list entirely but maybe not...
Content under the cut!
It's long, brace yourself.
As a group, I think jealously would run high.
Everybody wants the attention of a single person and there's eight other people as competition.
If the group was tight knit as we like to portray them, it won't last long.
If dear reader was a little caring or naturally falls into a healer/medic position in the group, the group becomes more reckless, less caring about their personal safety- if only to get a momentary caress from the love of their life's fingers as their wounds are tended to.
There's less group unity and alliances between them form.
If the reader isn't a fighter well...
They would take turns guarding their prize and fight to be the one to do it.
Leaving you behind when they go to dungeons is a must.
They won't risk you getting a scratch on your person let alone putting you in a potentially dangerous situation.
They try to keep all their weapons away and out of reach. Less you get any ideas and try to fight with them or worse, get hurt playing with them.
Or try to fight against them. HAHAHAHA!! How crazy would that be?
Like you would stand a chance.
When you're simply traveling with the group, your designated spot is on top of Epona, hands down, no questions asked.
Not only would be easier to keep an eye on you, and make it harder to get away, but Twilight has personally asked Epona (through Wolfie) that if they were ever ambushed, she was to take off with you and get away from the fight no matter the cost. She'll always come back to him anyway- so if you're tied to connected to her than all the more reason for him to be the one to retrieve you when it's all over.
The others don't like how Twilight gets to be the one to greet you first. But Epona is on Twilight's side and everyone knows it.
So they wait their turn.
You're on top of Epona even if you're a fighter as well.
If you can prove your salt and fight with them, they actually don't try to keep you away as much as they can (because now it means that they can spend more time with you!)
It instead becomes a competition to be your partner. Among the younger ones anyway.
The older ones, are less concerned now by you fighting, and more by the younger ones who keep trying to be by your side (even if that's their spot) and try to keep them out of your way.
Every bump and cut you get is treated immediately by who ever reaches you first.
It's once again a race.
The group, as yandere's go, do not know how annoying they're being nor do they plan to stop.
If you told stories of your past conquests, it a mixed bag of awe, adoration and anger for you even being put there to begin with. These thoughts are not voiced however, and they instead stew and simmer and grow into their possessive tendencies.
Because they would protect you, honor you, worship you and you wouldn't have to worry about anything ever again. Not if you were with them, not if you stayed with them, not if you were in their Hyrule.
There's a slight knee jerk reaction when you bring out your items to take it away because it's dangerous. But not only would that piss you off, it would take away what little protection you have on your person and they don't want to take any risks when it comes to your safety.
I wouldn't share too much if I were you.
youtube
Now as Individuals they're all different, obviously.
Let's explore that.
Time
He's the most dangerous
I'm starting this off with that
I'm talking the most calculating, scheming and devious of the whole group
He know he's in charge and that the others will listen to him regardless if they actually agree with him or not
Because he's the leader
His grip on the group lessens as time goes by and their unity dissipates
But he's delusional and he doesn't realize it
However, because he's already in this position, he takes it upon himself to take care of you
And others let him
Less work for them to focus on when they can be by your side instead
You never have watch
You're always in the middle of the group
He'd gladly send the boys ahead of you into danger to make sure that they deal with it before you even get there.
The others let him with little thought because it's for you
So they go for it
Time however, is somehow, never the one to go ahead, instead waiting behind (with you) while they go ahead and deal with the issue
He gets away with this 8/10 times
Mostly because he rotates who's he's sacrificing
Dad! Time is not here- not anymore
But he lets them near you because he's only biding his time
You're meant to be
Soulmates, if you will
If a little time with you is all those boys need to stay in line and listen to him then he'll allow it
Because they're only boys
He's a man through and through
They have nothing on him
And you deserve more than a mere boy
He has some other concerns on his mind while the boys fight each other like street dogs
Time has to think about your future together so he daydreams the most out of the group.
He doesn't really have a home and a roof over his head for himself- let alone you and he knows he'd have to change that
He thinks about staying as a permanent employee at Lon Lon Ranch
He can save enough money
Buy a house
Maybe some land
And enough things for you and him to make a comfortable life without any worries
Maybe even start a family?
The dream is a reprieve form the headache that are other boys who won't leave you alone
Pray you don't end up in his Hyrule
EVER
This is just the gateway he'd be waiting for to keep you all to himself
Fighter or not it's dangerous to travel with them
You're in danger
And he won't stand for that.
He doesn't know how exactly he'd do it
But he plans to leave you at Lon Lon Ranch, waiting for him, for when he comes back after the mission
He'd have to find some kind of way to actually keep you there and find you when you inevitably try to leave the Ranch
But he's traveled all over his Hyrule
There's no place you could go that he doesn't know about
As the adult of the group, he'd step over all the others
He's not going to listen to them when they try to stop him
They don't know as much as he does
They haven't experienced as much as he has
He knows that this is the best and only option to ensure that you're safe and well taken care of
He'd doesn't mind leaving you as prisoner to the Gerudo instead either if the others start to really get pushy
It won't be comfortable and it won't be glamorous
But they'll definitely keep you in one place
And he can walk in whenever he wanted thanks to that note from the chief from a time long ago
Pick you up, take you away and you'll be his
He daydreams a lot
And he knows that you'll choose him
You have to
He's the best and only option
He's never felt happier thinking about you and the life you'll both have
He's struggled so much anyway
Maybe you were the blessing the goddesses owed him for all his work in his youth
And surely they aren't so cruel to give you to him and then take you away by some monster attack or some terrible unforeseen fate
He can't have that either
So he'll take the first and best out he's given
But while you're here with him...
He's looking at you like you're magic
youtube
Warrior
Warrior is the least dangerous
He knows the feel of being on the receiving side of someone's obsession
He was ignorant for a long time about it
But he wasn't sure how to feel comfortable in his own skin again when he found out about it
He can see how the others are starting to show similar obsessive tendencies and tries to mitigate what he can
He does a lot of damage control
It's what he's trying to do anyway- he's not very successful
Warrior is the one who's challenging their train of thought
Why do they think this is ok? Why don't they ask you for your opinion? Why do they not give some time alone to recharge? Why don't they lay off?
Because it's totally for your benefit- AND THEIRS
Because it's not ok
He doesn't see himself follow the exactly same train of thought
He doesn't see himself doing what they're doing
He's just annoyed that they're the ones doing it
Warrior becomes the very definition of hypocrite.
However- because he's the one acting as your advocate- the others don't consider him as much as a threat and therefore more inclined to listen to him at this point in time than Time himself
It also means that they don't fight him as much when he wants time with you. Mostly because in their eyes, he's not interested
They're wrong
At some point in Warrior's attempt to keep the group together and keep you from going crazy or hating all of them, he begins to gain ulterior motives in his mission
He begins to play the role in an attempt to win you over.
Because- see, he's not like them
He won't violate your space
Go through your stuff
Or keep you from doing what you love
He's the one to say you should join them in fights, that you should stay, that you can hold your own
Since he's the main strategist in the group, he takes into account your skills and always places you at a distance from the fight or from the most obsessive the group.
He knows that their one track mind could kill you or them and there's still the darkness to defeat.
They don't have the luxury to afford this kind of distractions
When the others aren't paying attention to him, he'd pepper you with compliments and flirty lines, playing up his charm and suave attitude
He becomes the perfect gentleman
You'd never know that he's crazy
Just join him and be with him- that's all he wants
He loves you so what more is there to offer you?
He's got the status, the looks and the means to take care of you so you wouldn't have to worry about anything else
He'd be the best husband that Hyrule has ever seen
He'd hate to have the group scare you off with how over the top they've all been.
He knows the group is being annoying with being by your side all the time and how they don't let you be and how there's always someone by your side even when you're at your final straw
Warrior is the one who takes over guarding you when you need to pee or bath and actively argues on your behalf to let you take care of your hygiene.
He's not always successful but it's the thought that counts right?
Hyrule agrees with him most of the time and since Hyrule seems to be the only one who still cares (somewhat) about the mission, they make an agreement
Warrior isn't at all concerned about the others and know that you'd come around to him eventually.
Since he's not like the others
You're his first thought in the morning, his last thought when he rests his head to sleep and there's nothing that he hasn't been doing that wasn't for you
youtube
Hyrule
Hyrule is the least possessive
Mostly because of his low confidence.
I've mentioned in a previous post that is unrelated to this, his love language is physical touch- so he's all over you
There always have to be some way that he's holding you- whether its a hand on your shoulder or the small of your back, maybe he's holding your hand or maybe he's just pinched the edge of your tunic
But he's careful to not go beyond what you're comfortable with
He doesn't want to you to pull away from him
Because the others will not hesitate to push and pull him away if you so much as hinted at not wanting him near you
So he plays it cool
Hyrule also gets concerned when there's too many injuries to go around and he needs to heal the group
Because if you hurt then he can't spare anything else to help you
It's one of the few things he thinks that he's useful for- so if he can't do this little thing for you then why does he bother?
There's so many other guys here that could easily sweep you off of your feet and have so much more to offer you
He doesn't have any land
He doesn't have a house
His Hyrule... isn't the most welcoming and he doesn't like the idea of bringing you from one dangerous situation to another
Especially since he's being hunted for sport back home
It doesn't stop him from trying to win your heart obviously and he tries to show you and win you over in whatever little ways he can.
He's the gentlest with you
Whatever hurting you, he'll heal
Whatever scaring you, he'll deal with
Whatever danger comes your way, he'll end it's miserable existence
He- like Time- daydreams a lot but he's trying to live for the moment
He's almost resigned in a way- that you won't pick him
He knows they're on borrowed time, he knows that something dangerous can take you away from them or that he could be the one to be taken away instead
So he's trying to make up for it in the time that you do have together and spend every second by your side that he can
Because the group gets a little more reckless in their attempts to impress you and be dealt with (whether you're healing them and tending to their wounds or just yelling at them)
He heals the group a lot little less
If they're going to be stupid and get hurt- then he's not going to waste his magic when they're only going to do the same thing the next day
Soon, with enough time and patience, Hyrule begins to hoard all the healing potions as well.
It's an attempt to keep them away from you so when they're hurt he can step in and just get them healed up in a minute
But it also works to keep the group from getting too reckless
It's not his intention but he takes it as it is
If they get hurt too much anyway then that just means less competition for him to deal with and a higher chance with you!
Because of his low confidence about you actually ending up with him, he becomes one of the more mission minded of the group, probably right after Warrior
Since they both have their sights on eradicating the darkness instead of focusing on their love lives (for different reasons) this is the first alliance to be formed
Hyrule wants you to be his but he's at a crossroad
He knows Warrior has a lot of charm to win you over and has the means to make sure you live a good life
He knows it's more than he can ever give you
But he's fairly certain he can take Warrior in a fight
One well timed Thunder Strike and Warrior wouldn't stand a chance
Not to mention that they've been fighting side by side now, so he knows what to look for to bring him down
He doesn't think it'll come to that though
Warrior doesn't seem that interested with you anyway so he doesn't worry about him
Which just leaves the problem of winning your heart
He wonders what life would be like he can love like you do
youtube
Twilight
Twilight is the most protective
It's his wolf instincts and his caretaker instincts combined.
He's used to being the one to look after everyone else
Being his village's primary babysitter and all
But wolves are family animals and they protect their mates
He's the one to fight to keep you away from the fights, whether you can handle yourself or not
He can Four agree with this and it's the second alliance that forms
You must be protected at all costs and there's many things around that can injure you, or worse
So they both try their hardest to keep you safe and secure
If bubble wrap existed in Hyrule you would have been wrapped in it and then wrapped again for good measure.
He's the first to run up to you and the first to drag over Hyrule or someone with a fairy or a potion to treat you
He's not afraid to start punching anything that dares to threaten you
Forget the sword
He'll just start swinging... or maybe just go full Woflie even if he's not in his form and go for the jugular
He lets you ride on Epona more often than not and refuses to let you work more than you should
He's quick to carry things for you
He tries to impress you by being a handy man and tries to fix whatever he can get his hands on for you
He's not good at it
But he tries
His love language is acts of service so he's trying
You don't really need his help though
But let him get it out
And tell him that he's doing a good job please, for your sake
He talks a lot about his home life with you and he ask a lot of questions about your own
He's comparing notes
Trying to see what way of life you'd be more comfortable with and how he can accommodate to it
He tries to win you over with the simple life and he paints pretty pictures of having a ranch and a farm and letting you have all and any animals you want
Wolfie make an appearance every other day instead of simply whenever it's convenient
If you're a dog lover then it's even better.
Twilight is not afraid of taking advantage of it to give you all the kisses and cuddles he can get away in his other form
The others would have to fight the each other just to get kisses from you but Wolfie gets special privilege's
He gets kisses no problem
He's not above using it to his advantage
Epona is always on Twilight side and while he's in wolf form, he tells her all about you and how much he loves you and all the ways he finds you amazing and spectacular
Because you're riding Epona more often than not, he tells her to watch after you and to keep your safe and to get to a safe area if they ever get ambushed
She doesn't know how human romance works, so she agrees.
Link is her master and her best friend, so she trusts him with her life and you're important to him, clearly, so you're important to her too
He's not going to lose you like he lost Midna
She left him behind with barely a glance behind
You won't leave him at all
He'll make sure of it
The others won't take you away from him either
Four seems to be the one who's most on his side right now and together they can lessen the competition
He'd hate to fight the guy and maybe they can come to an understanding but he knows he's got the brute strength that Four lacks not to mention Wolfie and Epona as well
So maybe he'll listen to reason
His world used to be so grey with no change in either direction
An eternal twilight
You became his light in the gloom
youtube
Sky
Sky is the least violent
He actually falls in the middle of both protectiveness and jealousy.
But he's more set on letting each of the boy pick each other off (not unlike Time) and then he'll figure out who's left over to deal with them then.
Sky also isn't one to fight off the other people who you interact with
He's not going to go confront the person or drag you away and definitely not going to start swinging
He still feels uncomfortable if you aren't by his side but he'll make up for it when you're done by sticking to your hip
Sky doesn't want you to feel cramped by only talking to the group
But he does get a little jumpy when you're beyond his line of sight.
That being said- he will let you out of his sight
Not for long periods of time, mind you, but he's not going to be in your shadow the entire time or demand to be glued to your hip
He's arguably the most normal out of the group- the least yandere if you will
Still crazy though
Sky is also one to agree with Warrior and Twilight.
He's not a part of any alliance but between wanting you to be safe and still wanting you to be healthy and clean (he knows how being clean helps out ones moral and he doesn't want you to be depressed when you're with them) he'd let them do the fighting and arguing for him and when they lose a bit, he'll say something and add to their cause
He's trying to be chill and he plays on his harp when you're nearby.
If you come sit next him to listen and chill- he will absolutely be over the moon
He will go through some of your things to make sure you have anything and everything you'd need for their adventure
But he won't take away your weapons or go through your diary (he wouldn't be able to read it anyway)
He does try to ask you in some roundabout way if he has permission to do that.
It'll be long winded and vague and a total play on words, so be careful to what you agree with when he asks something of you
Sky although is the least violent, that's in regards to other humans
Monsters have learned to keep away from him when he's on the battle field and if they haven't learned that...
They will
He's the one that tries to have your relationship mature and grow naturally.
Sky is going to simply be your friend first and show you that he has your best interest at heart
So when you talk to him about your problems and how the others are driving you crazy, he'll give you advice, tell you he's on your side and openly give you outs to avoid the others.
If you want time alone and the others begin looking for you, he'll tell them you went in the other direction and he'll send them on a wild goose chase.
Since he's on your side, he tells you to at least let him know where you're going and for how long so he can distract the others.
He's not concerned about you running away, since the others are going to do the work for him
Four and Twilight and Wolfie can find and hunt you down in a heart beat and you'll be together again
He won't blame you for running away, there's a lot of people who won't leave you alone in the group and it annoys him too
And Hyrule, Wind and Time keep you within the group and close by so he never has to worry about not knowing where you are at all times
Warrior and Wild keep you well fed and well taken care of
And Legend makes sure that you always have a potion on you and has even given some power rings to ensure your safety
So all he has to do is butter you up by being the least persistent of them all and you'll fall for him and you can be together forever and ever and even be the start of Hyrule as everyone knows it
Wouldn't that be nice?
While he may not be the most musically inclined of the group, he's the one to serenade you when he gets the chance
He plays his harp more often than not, trying to get the notes out that he hears in his head when he looks at you
His life was such a simple song before you came along but now... It's a symphony, he wants you to know this
youtube
Four
Four is the most controlling
He's the one putting restrictions on you left and right and is the one to never want you to leave his side- let alone his line of sight.
You see, he's got these voices in his head that bounce ideas off of each other.
When one might be, hey that guy is talking to you
The other responds with, he's close to you too
One might say, you're smiling and it's beautiful
Another says, why is it directed at that guy?
Which snowballs to, you're a little too close, a little too nice, is he flirting? Has he touched you? Is he trying to make a move?
And then he's even more possessive and it grows and spirals and next thing he knows, he's next to you again and chewing the poor guy out for no reason when it was a simple conversation about the weather and directions.
And that's in public
Now add in the threat of monsters and traps and many other dangerous that surround the group as a whole
He's paranoids in the extreme
So when Twilight suggests that they tie you to Epona and keep you where he they can always see you, he's the first to agree
In fact he feels as if Twilight is the only one who's actually looking out for your well being
Wind tries to throw fits and get the two of them to back off but he's just a kid, what does he know? He should know better anyway, he knows how dangerous this journey is going to get, so why is Wind trying to actively put you in harms way?
Twilight a least can get Wind to listen to reason and Twilight's better at explaining it than he is so while Four'll yell, Wind is really Twilight's problem.
He doesn't like the idea of fighting is friends but he can see that well... He's the only to notice that they're not as close as they used to be when you first joined.
He thinks that Warrior can feel it but Four is the one who'll say it out loud.
Four is actually the most trigger happy out of all them, he's not afraid to break character and yell at some poor passerby who's too foolish enough to even look in your direction
He's the angry guard dog in public and it's a little hard to reign him most of the time
Twilight agree with him in this but he's also the one to hold him back
The last thing they need is to be kicked out of town
But if while you're there maybe he can get something for you?
He's the kind of person to make something for their beloved but he only knows how to make weapons and tools
Things that he's never going to give to you and actively tries to keep them away from at all costs
Yes, if you have your own weapons he'll also try to take them away
He'd rather see you angry than injured
No, he does not see how being weaponless in a fight will lead to more injuries and no, he not going to listen to those who try to tell him that.
Maybe he can learn how to make jewelry and gift that instead?
A pretty thing like yourself should be adorned in more beauty.
And he can save enough to make it with rubies and diamonds and any gold that he can salvage in Hyrule
He'd give you and make you anything you want
You'd be dripping in jewels if he had it his way
He also knows that the voices try to point out his flaws and all the ways that he's really not that appealing to any potential partners
It doesn't matter that he's merged and they all have the same flaws
But whenever he's next to you and things are calm, the voices are quiet and he feels like him
youtube
Wild
Wild is the Most violent
Like Four, he does not care if it's a simple conversation, if someone else is taking up your time and attention then he will want to start swinging.
He's usually held back by Warrior and Time since Twilight typically has to restrain Four
But if you're in danger? Real danger?
He becomes the equivalent of the Fierce Deity, no mask required
The battle field becomes a blood bath by his hand alone
Sure the others will want to to cause some destruction as well and destroy any and all threats to you, but Wild goes the extra mile
Forget Twilight going feral, he has an excuse- but Wild?
He'll go ballistically feral, even going as far to drop his weapons to rip into the threats with his hands and teeth
He has to make sure there's absolutely nothing in between you and him
He's not afraid to throw away his whole good guy reputation and even the reputation of the hero in order make sure he's the last man standing
Wild is now taking notes on how the the group fights and how they defend themselves, defend you and try to figure out the best ways to take them down
If there was ever to be a physical fight within the group, he'll not only be a part of it but most likely also the instigator
Wild has already lost all his friends and family before, he can't afford to lose anyone else
Besides his Hyrule has so much more to offer you than some of the others
Not to mention he has his own house- in a safe village- with low monsters around it- and barely any reason to think that he wouldn't be able to provide for you
He's got the rupees he needs from his monster farming and everything's nearby. Whatever he can't get, he can teleport to and he wouldn't have to leave you alone for long periods of time.
Wild goes out of his way to buy you clothes since the others have taken care of your other needs (much to his chagrin)
But he also makes sure you have the best portions of the meals he makes
He keep tracks how much you ate and when
He always there to give you a snack if you even mention of being peckish
He knows the others won't mind if he dotes in this manner
Not only because it's for you...
He has all the food anyway.
When he sees that you're wearing Legend's old tunic, he instantly hates it
He and Legend are less of an alliance and merely on tolerable terms- not that Legend notices or cares- because of this and Wild knows that your clothes have taken a lot battery
He wants to you be warm and protected
But he also has a lot of extra outfits
So he takes a page out of Legend's book and gives you some as well
He's a little disappointed you don't wear them as often but he knows that most of them are specialized for certain terrain- Legend's is more of a catch all kind of deal so he can understand the need for general uses
He's not happy about it
But he understands
The crazy thing is, you wouldn't want to end up in his Hyrule either
Pray you never do
Like Time, Wild has been all over his Hyrule and has traveled to all the nooks and crannies
He knows that he can hide you away without the others ever knowing what happened to you
Not even Wolfie would be able to track you
Why?
Because (and this is from AoC) he can teleport more than one person at a time, so he can just take you far away and somewhere secluded, somewhere where you wouldn't be able to leave
Hebra region? In the cabin where he learned how to shield surf? Or play the snow bowl game?
Gerudo Wasteland?
Akkala Region? With Robbie? It's hard to get past the guardians and the high level monsters...
Or maybe ditch you in the mountains with Paya in Kakariko Village?
Or maybe leave you on the Great Plateau? You can't get down without a paraglider...
Life with you is the only reason he's still on this journey instead of just taking you and leaving
The darkness is still around and it threatens his future with you
But it looks bright in his head when all is over and he's so happy that he met you
Life is now pink! And he won't take off his rose tinted glasses any time soon!
youtube
Legend
Legend is the most possessive
As some people have headcanoned in the past, he has a problem letting things go
He's lost so many people he cares about- he knows that items are a little harder to lose
He's the Collector- the Hoarder
Naturally when he sees something that he wants, he'll stop at nothing to make it his.
However, since he has a problem coming into direct contact with his own feelings, he's projecting
Legend instead tries to keep you at arms length and fails miserably
He doesn't want to fall for someone only to have them be ripped form him again, and again and again,
He cares for the group still even after their disagreements and eventually mistrust
He doesn't want to leave this little family they've made for themselves and has disillusioned himself into thinking that he can save it before it's too late
But in his fairytale ending, you're with him
Legend, though, still knows that their time will end and everyone will eventually go home so by the time everyone begins fighting and jealousy runs amuck, he's trying to hold everyone at arms length
When you don't give him attention, he's prone to get angry and may very well at times act like he hates you
He doesn't like it when you so much as breath in someone else's direction
You're his and his alone, why is anyone else even worth your time and energy?
But he's not going to say this out loud
So he's frustrated with himself and pouts often
So he's stuck in a cycle of self hatred and jealousy and not willing to do something to change it
But when you do give him attention, he's melts into a puddle
He's at your beck and call if so much as say his name
There's very little that he isn't willing to do for you or get for you, anything to make you happy
He's also quick to give you power rings to protect you even if he's against you fighting
Legend is also going to give you an extra tunic if (/when) your clothes take too much damage and they're too far gone for him to fix
It's a power move on his part
Not only does he feel giddy with boyish excitement when he sees you in his old tunic (that definitely has some kind of magical properties to ensure your safety), it's also him marking you as his property
And the others know it
Wild does a similar thing so you can at least have a change of clothes but Legend is quick to tailor them when you're not looking to not fit you and be uncomfortable
He's the one going through your things for sure
He need to know that he's the one who's taking care of you
He needs to know you have everything you need
He needs to know if there's anything that you're lacking so that he can sweep in and provide it for you
He's not really planning on taking out the competition or is planning beyond keeping you by his side for the day
He (like Hyrule) is living for the moment, because he's afraid he's going to blink and you'd be gone and there would be nothing else left for him
But you won't be gone
He's going to make sure of that
He's got tunnel vision for sure
But since he's also trying to not fall for you and get his heart broken, it becomes a game of hot and cold with a whole lot of minefields in between that could set him off for (what looks like) no reason
He hates you- no he doesn't- he wants nothing to do with you- he wants to be your everything- he's not going to write you poetry or braid your hair or fall asleep listening to your heart beat- he would kill for that to be his reality- he hates that you're all he's able to think about now- don't leave him please
He's not crushing
He's not
He is
youtube
Wind
Wind is the least protective- Still protective but arguably not to the degree of the others
You see, he knows that the others protect him because he's the youngest
And he's not blind
He can see that they're just as, if not more, protective over you
He can see how you hate it and how much it annoys you
He's not going to make that same move
And as a bonus, since the others are protecting you anyway, why should he put in the work and protect you as well?
There's enough people watching you all the time
With the others taking care of it, he can plan on winning you over
He's going to give you as much freedom as he's able to get away with
It'll put him as your favorite
This immediately puts him at a crossroads with Four who's somehow a hair's breadth away from tying you up and chaining you together by the wrists
They fight against each other the most
He plans on marrying you
It's honestly in the same degree of young children that say they're growing to grow up and marry their dad or their mom
Because obviously you marry the person you love and you stay with them for the rest of your life
And he loves you.
So that's what he plans to do
Win you over is step one
Then he (and you) just need to wait a few years for him to get older
And then he'll marry you
He does not see a problem with this plan
Typically I make the reader the same age as him to avoid the worst of it but in this case, this does not matter
I'd say that if you're older, he'd get more easily attached to giving you the freedom you've been missing
With him by your side obviously
Because you're older- you're an 'adult'- you can take care of yourself
You're so cool in his eyes
The others, naturally, see a problem with this
Not only out of jealously at the very thought of it not being them to marry you but because they know he's young and if you're older, (say closer to Twilight and Warrior's age) then they can see the problem it'll prove to be for you from a moral stand point
The others (mainly Legend and Four) bully tease him when you're not around about how selfish he is to even think about making you wait, when you could easily marry one of them instead, so why would you ever choose him?
He tries not to let it get to him because he does hang out with you more than they get to- so maybe they're really just jealous that his plan is working
Wind has the more innocent approach to this whole ordeal out of the whole group
His obsession isn't healthy, obviously, but he at least the excuse of being young and not knowing how to deal with crushes
Because he's awkward with it, (and he knows it) he's actually pretty quick to shut away the worst of it when he's spending time with you, less you think he's weird and push him away
Not only does he not want that to happen, but he's heard the others come up to you countless times regarding him and his behavior and if you'd like him to leave you alone
Because they will deal with him if you so much as say one word of annoyance
The choice is yours
If you indulge him when he wants your attention then he's more like himself and becomes the most normal out of the whole group
He becomes the him when you first joined
Before the obsession
Wind becomes your safest bet in terms of keeping your sanity intact and it's the groups saving grace to keep up any illusion that they're still normal
Wind is dealing with a highly flammable vial of puppy love concentrate
All in the form of budding teenage yandere hormones
If you had met him any later in his life, the cocktail would have no doubt exploded into the form of the other's behavior and he'd seem like a completely different person instead
He's almost like a lost puppy, always following you around and being in your shadow
It would be cute if he wasn't crazy
Wind adores you though and he wants you to know that

💘🗻⛩💃👍
💘 Favorite Zelda ship(s)?
Zelink of course 💞💞 game specific SkSw zelink, and a secondary ship that isn’t zelink would be Malink (Malon & Link/time lol)
🗻 If you were in a Zelda game, where would you live? What would you be doing? (aside from being the hero or princess)
I’d probably live in a small(er) town like kakariko, hateno, or even Ordon village. And I’d probably be selling crochet crafts and lil plushies and maybe some spare fruits or veggies from my garden 💖 I’d also make sure to have a very fairy-hospitable property and a strict no bottling rule <3
⛩ Favorite Zelda Dungeon/Location?
Skyward sword’s Faron woods 💚 lil Kikwis, pretty forest, mushrooms I can sit on, it just feels so magical 💚💖 dungeon tho would be SkSw lanayru sand ship thingy if that counts as a dungeon! Pirates and ocean and yeeeee
💃🏻 Favorite BOTW Outfit?
A bit of a boring answer but I like the diamond circlet, champion’s tunic, and hylian pants or whatever they’re called. The hylian hood is a close contender for the circlet tho. It’s a classic outfit, and feels all hero-y and stuff hehe
👍 Favorite Zelda Headcanons?
That the Hero’s Shade’s ‘unfinished business’ is to teach his skills directly to the next hero/his descendant and he lived a full happy life with Malon and his kids before that because Happy >:( 😂
Also looked in my notes and found this glorious hc of mine hehe (quick context wearing a claddagh ring (Irish ring design symbolizing love and friendship and loyalty) with the heart facing out means open to love, heart facing you means closed. Specifically, out right hand is single, in right dating, out left engaged, in left married):
Hyrule and Legend both wear claddagh rings. Legends is pointed inwards since events of LA. But he gets to see Marin again in War’s Hyrule and bring her back to his own and soon after the ring switches hands and orientation (ie they got engaged). Hyrule notices and teases legend about it in private, forgetting about his own ring indicating his relationship with Aurora. Legend obviously does an uno reverse and teases Hyrule about his, and comes up with the game “how shy can I make Hyrule” and as others find out Rulie is dating the princess they join in on the game. Poor Rulie can dish it, but when it comes to romantic subjects he cannot take it. Legend has a field day. Many field days in fact.
Edit: oh and I can’t forget this beautiful LU headcanon 😉💞: Sky eats a lot of weird foods/food combinations. He’s been caught eating vinegar toast, ants, raw pumpkin seeds, and the like. But it’s not like Wild. Wild literally eats everything. Sky has Standards. What those standards are may be a bit skewed to some though. For example, ants are acceptable but live bee larvae is not.
#kiwi answers#LoZ ask game#tellie my sweet#about the claddagh ultimately how you wear it doesn’t matter 🤣#but it’s fun and gives good legend and Hyrule teasing each other like the brothers they are material hehe#I have a more thought out theory about the heroes shade thingy if anyones curious#I think Tellie has seen it before tho#I may have posted it? probably?

Autistically Flavoured Link Headcanons
(Disclaimer: these are all based on my personal experience of autism. I also have other brain weird, so while I’m /pretty/ sure its all autism, some might not be. Not representative, etc etc etc. Also I just wanted to write all these down before reading other people’s, because its interesting to compare, but I need the reference point for my own.)
(Some Links have more points than others. This isn’t always dependent on how much I like or have thought about them, its just which ones I had more ideas and firm vibes are)
(Also general that even if I don’t stick to these headcanons, I always write all characters as autistic as I’m literally incapable of not being so myself, and have to run the dialogue. Its just easier if I accept they have my neurotype and have fun.)
Cut because very long
Legend - is in constant sensory hell from everything. made it a little better by ditching pants, gnawing on necklaces, fiddling with his rings, and similar. the constant sensory hell makes him snippy, as the world is constantly too much. - As a kid he was constantly told off for being rude/pretentious, but never managed to work out why. So, he has decided to just pretend to be rude so it hurts less when people think he’s mean. It’s easier, no? to be hated for something you're pretending to be, than for something you can't control. And anyway, he can't read intent, so has decided to believe the worst in everyone and everything. A very few people can convince him they’re not awful, but it takes a lot of work. Everyone takes the worst interpretation of him, so why not return the favour?
Hyrule - what's autism and what's a feature of his Hyrule is very hard to tell sometimes. He's aware that he can't read emotion, tone, or body language, but just assumes it’s because he's spent so little time around people. - He has made a conscious choice to believe the best of everyone, and has been taught very quickly that if he isn't sweet and kind then he will be murdered. It reads as naïve to most people, but its as much a survival mechanism as Legend's constant snark. He doesn’t know what people are doing, so he has made a conscious choice to be kind, and to assume other people are too. Until they prove otherwise. Proving otherwise usually involves actually hurting them - His special interests have long involved magic. His sensory issues are rarely obvious, but certain colours are physically painful - there's a reason he sticks to his brown and greens. - All of his stims are forcibly suppressed to the point he doesn’t know any of them. Even the gentle flapping of his hands at his sides is a danger when you’re being hunted.
Four - I don’t have a whole grasp on Four, but blacksmithing? Blacksmithing is his special interest. He’s very blunt a lot of the time, but he’s generally just taken for distracted rather than rude. Everyone where he lives knows he’d rather be in his forge, and its useful enough they let him. - He usually seems to have most of it under control, but when things get too much it looks like a very sudden shift. - The colours things gets tricky with all this. Yes they would all be autistic. They’re kinda all also different ways of dealing with it. As a whole Four can shift between them as situation necessitates, but split each colour only has one way of handling the social weirdness.
Time - didn't have his whole childhood being told off for being rude, and so for a long time was completely unaware that he can come off that way - or worse, insensitive. Forest children notice these things much less, but it means in adulthood he doesn’t always realise he’s coming off as mean. He is trying to learn to do better, but being the eldest of the group few of them call him out on it. - As a kid relied a lot on his masks to work out the rules of different engagements, taking on different personas and so forth. He hasn't quite realised he put one of them on and never took it off again (figurative). Neither has he realised what it is costing him.
Wild - near constant state of not enough sensory, except for occasional moments of too much. he doesn't have a line of just enough. sensory seeking until he implodes. licks things, touches things, looks at shiny things - all of that. This has only gotten worse since his death and rebirth; the nerve damage with his burns has left huge expanses of his body in constant sensory deprivation, which he can only try to counter via elsewhere. - His social skills are a work in progress, but what's autism and what's trauma and what's amnesia is anyone's guess. - Cooking is great but fire noise distressing. So, he does the little hum. He likes the hum. It is a stim, but a stim that only works in specific situations. Sky - fakes it until he makes it, but it drains all his stamina and spoons, and neurotypicals still read something off about him anyway. He used to have a special interest in flying, its still sensory very pleasing to him, but his adventures have burnt all of his special interests away. Unlike Time he's uncomfortably aware of his masking, and that its hurting him, but has no idea how to turn it off. He is suffering badly from autistic burnout. Combined, of course, with actual burnout. Still, he's doing his very best to be kind. - Pressure is very good for him. Many blankets, also hugs. If he ever learns about Wild needing to be squished sometimes he'd love a cuddle buddy. For now its clinging to blankets and pillows and covering himself in everything. - Conversely, if he eats food with actual flavour, he might die. He wouldn't die, but the slightest bit of taste is too much for his brain to handle. Wild doesn't get it, but makes him very plain food anyway. Twilight - spends time with animals over people, as they actually make sense. Has always known he's weird and not quite... normal, but assumes its a result of his messy ancestry. Everyone else also knows he's a bit strange, but he's good with the horses and the kids, so what does it matter? Swaps between wolf and Hylian form to try control his sensory brain - if light is too much or smell too little, go wolf. Vice versa, go Hylian. It doesn't always work, but its one of a handful of pros. Wind - special interest in boats. Has far fewer problems than the other heroes, in part because young, in a small community, and his grandma wasn't going to stand for any nonsense. Now the chain protects him from nonsense as he explores himself. - Has, with Wild, recently discovered he's not actually easily overwhelmed by taste - he's actually underwhelmed by it, but bland food is easier for his brain to manage than slightly flavoured but not flavoured enough to deal with the sensory underwhelming he has. Grandma's soup had been the only flavoured thing he could stomach before. She knew the trick of actually flavouring things. Warriors - Can get through any social situation just fine, having absolutely delighted in the complexities of the rules and the drama of it all. Unfortunately, while he looks incredibly socially competent, he's still running largely from a script. So much attention is on how he himself is presenting and his own words and how people read him that he's completely unable to process what they're doing. Someone else really needs to take notes on the conversation for him, because he will remember precisely none of it later.
#linked universe#headcanon#both percieve and do not percieve me#its complicated#I repeat again that most of these are personal experience in different situations#etc etc etc

Hey you like some of my posts sometimes. That gives me a confidence boost, so as a thank you here is a ficlet for your smol headcanon have an amazing day!
The busy streets of Warrior’s Hyrule where considered by many in the chain as overwhelming, most of them shied away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded market place. Wind, However loved everything about it. The noise, the throngs of people, the many shops and vendor stalls begging for his attention. It was all so different from slow and quiet island life and he wanted to experience all of it.
But one could only get away with so much as the youngest in the chain, and wandering off through the market in an unfamiliar Hyrule was definitely not one of them, well not on his own anyway. It was then fortunate that Four was one of those who didn’t mind the crowds or the noise and happened to need some supplies from the market, as a team of two no one could find fault with them passing a few hours in the crowded city streets.
So it was with a final warning from Warriors not to cause trouble, and in particular for him not to steal anything that he and Four departed for the day.
Four was over all quite a pragmatic individual, and so as a rule he always headed where he needed to go to get what he needed to get. Accompanied by Wind however, he found himself stopping at almost every little novelty that the sailor found. Along their way they stopped to look at all sorts or of curiosities. Swathes of fabric of every texture and exotic colours caught Winds attention, as he stopped to examine the shades. A stall selling all manner of spices, drew his nose then his attention, as he stopped to look and smell, asking the vendor what sort of dishes they where used to make.
They passed the apothecary the bottles and vials holding all manner of tonics and potions for speed, stealth, health and healing, Wind was even curious about the tonic for colouring ones hair. As he asked about said item with the clerk Four hid a rueful smile as he remembered Legends recent hair incident.
This was how their afternoon passed, stopping at leisure to look at the items for sale and then continuing, not really invested in their destination. Four found the stall he needed, buying copper wire and varnish, early in the trip but was content to let Wind lead them around the stalls. It had been a few hours and they had agreed that it was probably best for them to start heading back. As they made their way back through the narrow streets Wind was once again distracted by a stall, this one selling jewellery. Four waited patiently for Wind to ask his questions and carry on their way hoping that these would be some of the last distractions on their way home, fatigue setting in. No questions came. He only looked at the different rings and bangles with a fare away look on his face.
“I never thought of you as a jewellery type of guy, seams more Legends speed not yours.” Four commented as he drew close beside Wind.
Wind let out a half chuckle, as he continued to look at the different items.
“What one is it that has your attention?” Four couldn’t tell from the far away look exactly what item Wind had been looking at, but he pointed to some gold hoops in the centre of the glass paned display.
“I didn’t know you had your ear pierced.”
“I don’t, but I want it. Tetra has a gold hoop just like that one. It would be cool if we matched.”
“Then ask how much it is.” Four had never really heard Wind complain of being home sick much, besides comparing Wild’s cooking with that of his grandmas and talking about things his little sister would love to see. He had never really looked at something with such abject longing for his home world before. It made him look younger, a lot younger and it made something twist in Fours chest painfully.
“I didn’t bring any money with me, I gave everything I had to Wars for the good of the team.” At this comment he finally drew his eyes away from the cabinet with a small laugh.
“ And I gave him my word that I wouldn’t steal anything.” With that he turned not sparing a second look back as he moved forward. There where other stalls along the road home that captured him, he didn’t notice the several minutes that Four was gone, the amount of time it took him to buy the small weight of gold, it was never noticed and never mentioned. It was wrapped in a small purple pouch and hidden in one of the side pockets of Winds pack. He would find it at some point, and maybe he could even convince Legend to pierce his ear.

Chaotic Hijinks - headcanons
[Link x genderneutral!Reader]
warnings: none!
Requested by: @manaminamoto01
thank you so much for the request, i hope you like it!!
~~~~~~
in which Link and reader find solace in each other's similar personalities, but Zelda.....not so much
~~~~~~
~~~~~~
Chaotic Link is my favorite version of Link, I'm going to be totally honest
You met Link about halfway through his journey to free Zelda from her battle with Ganon
You first saw him on the side of the road, covered head to toe in twigs, leaves, and mud, scouting out a nearby Bokoblin camp
You watched from afar as he snuck through the brush and preyed upon the seared steak that hung over the fire
Link was quick and barbaric with his movements, brandishing a crude woden spear and attacking the Bokoblins by surprise, stabbing away at them as he tried to grab the meat
You insantly knew that he would be your best friend
The two of you were like peas in a pod, always figuring out some way to make the journey through Hyrule a little more fun by doing probably the stupidest shit imaginable
For instance, you once bet Link 15 rupees that he couldn't beat a Silver Lynel in under five minutes
With no hesitation, that man dragged you to the nearest Silver Lynel and bested it in three minutes flat
15 rupees isn't even a lot??? He was mainly doing it to spite you
Link never really had any regard for rules since basically the entirety of Hyrule was destroyed by Ganon. So, what even are rules anymore?
You often liked to catch whatever bug you could find and dare Link to eat it just to see what would happen, and this guy would just do it every time
Your favorite place was Death Mountain and hanging out with the Gorons since they also loved to do stupid shit
Pure adrenaline got both you and Link through the Gut-Check Challenge, and it was all just for fun like you guys didn't even want the shrine afterwards
Don't even get me started on the prime rock roasts i-
You two would also frequently activate Guardians just so they would chase you through Hyrule Field, shooting lasers every which way as you evaded them like it was a game
Everything for you and Link was just an adrenaline rush like pure dopamine
You and Link also have no idea how to cook, so a typical dinner would just consist of throwing random mushrooms and other ingredients you salvaged from your packs together to make....something slightly edible
Link also was a whiz when it came to the puzzles inside of the Divine Beasts, and you never had to wait long until he was done conquering one and you were moving to the next territory
Once you both freed Zelda from her battle with Ganon, you and Link didn't really change all too much
Zelda's assumption as to what Link would be like 100 years later was....a bit off
She remembered him as this gallant knight that rarely spoke a word and would risk his life for the better cause
Well...she got the risking his life part right
Zelda often felt like she was babysitting you two as you traipsed through Hyrule, constantly covering her face with her hands as you would race each other recklessly through swamps or threw bombs at Bokoblins for fun
You and Link would typically climb the highest point in the vicinity and then throw yourselves off of it, opening your paraglider at the very last second and giving Zelda heart attacks as she tried to stop you
Zelda loved to get her hands dirty usually, but she had limits
You two did not
One time you, Link, and Zelda were just traveling calmly through Akkala, going to visit Robbie in his research lab, when you passed by the Hinox that typically slept in the grove of trees near the Citadel
Zelda was leading the troupe and keeping to herself while you and Link rode side by side, being unusually quiet for most of the trip
For a few moments as you passed the Hinox, Zelda swore she heard whispering behind her, and then there was silence
Her Zelda-senses were tingling, and she quickly turned around to see that both your and Link's horses were a few meters behind without either of you atop them
Zelda leapt off her horse and looked around, freaked out that maybe the Yiga Clan had taken you or something had evaporated you or anything dangerous
Then her eyes landed on the two of you hiding behind some trees near the Hinox, waving your hands in some kind of gestures to each other
She would've yelled if she wasn't afraid of waking up the Hinox, but that happened anyway as both you and Link ran up to the Hinox yelling loud sounds and climbing on top of it
Zelda watched in horror as you two got a thrill out of waking up the Hinox and chasing it around the clearing, quickly making it dizzy and having it fall down with a crash
You and Link prodded at it with your swords playfully, mocking it and making it upset as it struggled to get up
Zelda braved her own fear and dashed over to you two, grabbing you both by your pointed Hylian ears and dragging you away from the Hinox as fast as she could
Needless to say, she reprimanded the both of you like children for that
"How are we supposed to save Hyrule," Zelda yelled at the top of her royal lungs, "if you two die before we can even get started? How did you even get past Ganon?!"
You and Link shared a look and shrugged, looking at her innocently
"We were bored," you said. "The Beasts were taking too long so we just went for it. Pretty lucky, too, right?"
You and Link were laughing, but Zelda just sighed and turned away to her horse, grumbling to herself
You and Link never let up after that, continuously spicing up every day with whatever came to mind
~~~~~~
y'all seem like such fun HAHA
hope you liked it!! thank you so much for the request again <33
requests are welcome :)

Describing it as being like home is actually pretty accurate yeah.
And YES! I am totally willing to talk about my modern AU.
I've been calling it the Adoption AU because Time ends up adopting all of the boys. It mostly started as, I saw an edit for a tweet someone did with Wars and Wild that involved Taco Bell (cannot remember the blog or post for the life of me though), and so I wrote a thing about Warriors sneaking out of his university dorm to pick up Wild, who snuck out the window despite his broken arm, and then got extorted by Legend in exchange for silence at 3am.
This was followed by a fic where Groose decided spray painting a public building was a good idea and got himself and Sky arrested, set earlier in the timeline.
So then I made a timeline. Twilight is Time and Malon's biological son, and he found Wild on the side of the road one day (Wild's backstory involves a bad car wreck and an underground hospital, but no conspiracy bullshit. Yet). Wild has no memory, so they keep him. Wild brings home Legend, who was told his uncle died at school before a holiday. They then also keep Legend. Malon finds Four in her barn one morning for complicated reasons, and they keep him too. Twilight finds Warriors, who is in his class, hiding in an alley one day after he ran away from an abusive home and brings him home too. SS Impa (who I've nicknamed Shield because there are enough prominent Impas here that they should get nicknames too) is a social worker who's trying to find Sky a home and has run out of options, and turns to Time, who has a record of successfully housing 'unhousable' youths, and asks if he can take one more. He can. Wild finds Hyrule and brings him home because 'Rule needs a shower even more than Wild does. Hyrule stays. Wind's grandma ends up with Wind and his sister but can't financially take care of both and so Wind ends up with the boys and everyone is +1 Grandma.
Twilight has a fic detailing how he knows Midna and Dusk and I ended up shooting him (oops) but at least their social project gets handed in on time.
Then I started hashing out Time's backstory and suddenly this AU had plot. And organized crime. And a conspiracy. And secret societies.
The summarized version is that the gems from OoT are like, Idk what they do yet. Haven't gotten to a point where I need to figure that out yet. But they are Important and have to be carefully guarded. The Great Deku Tree (just called Deku because he's not a tree here) was Time's foster father before Ganondorf killed him. Also, Ganondorf is Deku's half brother. Because. However Time 'stole' the Emerald and he and Navi ran until OoT Impa (Sage) and Lullaby found them. So Time got adopted into Lullaby's family. Ruto inherited the Sapphire from her mother who also died from mysterious circumstances, and Darunia has the Ruby. Lullaby got the Ocarina from her late paternal grandmother.
Then Ganon finds them and tries to steal the Emerald from Time, so Lullaby goes looking for help and thus finds the sages. Saria is an anonymous hacker who uses the screen name 'Kokiri'. Time reveals he didn't steal the Emerald, he was Deku's heir, and then Navi goes missing. Time is home worried enough that he's physically sick, and Ganon decides to try and attack the home. Only Lullaby's family is Olde Money, and they live in a big, old manor, so Lullaby as Sheik decides to play 'Home Alone' with the secret passages in the walls and they piss off Ganon because when did that brat get a sheikah bodyguard??? Sage and Rottla (Lullaby's mother, who is fully sheikah as well) rush home from a thing and Kokiri is running a play by play watching the security cameras.
I pull in my headcanon that Time was killed in the Downfall Timeline by getting impaled on Ganon's tusk and Ganondorf stabs him with the tusk of a mounted boar head and then Sheik shows up to protect his brother, and then Mama gets home and is not happy to find this man in her home attacking her kids. Time is fine, but Navi stays missing. (She's alive tho.)
Also, Time's foster dad was the last leader of a secret society known as The Order of The Lost Woods, and Time learns this upon meeting Tatl, who gets him sucked into another event that would probably make a good action movie. I have thought too much about the Order and it's hierarchy, but what's important here is that Time ends up with a standing job offer and Tatl and he remain friends and we find out how I fit FD into this AU. It's not pretty. This is where Time loses his eye too.
The AoC came out and I added that Link in as Wild's twin brother and he shows up during the main plot.
Which starts with Twi getting kidnapped. (I'm not really meaner to him than the others, I swear, he's just the most logical choice to be Time's heir. Which he is. He doesn't know this though.)
So he's kidnapped by Ganondorf, who broke out of jail, Zant, who shot Twi in highschool, and Ghirahim, who has some history with Sky I haven't fleshed out yet and a very public rivalry with Warriors over twitter. About six weeks later Sage finds him in an abandoned warehouse (because of course) with a shackle on his left arm and a lot of new injuries. He ends up fine, but he tells Time later in the hospital what happened and he's both message and messenger and Time is this close to just committing murder. Tatl talks him down.
Somewhere here is the half finished fic where I introduce AoC Link as Luke/Knight, and this is as far as I've plotted thus far.
Other tidbits: Wild and Lullaby/Sheik are both genderfluid, Lullaby/Sheik married Ruto, Wild has a very popular YouTube channel, Twi does drag racing sometimes, Sky has a pet bird, Four has DID to explain how the Colours are here too, and Wolfie exists in the form of a random wolf-dog Wild found and brought home that Legend somehow convinced half the family was Twilight. Also, Warriors has somehow befriended an entire sorority and he doesn't know how this happened.
This... got long. As you can see I have a lot of thoughts about the Adoption AU. It's gotten a bit away from me, I'll admit. This went from 'Wild does stunts on his motorbike and keeps breaking bones but somehow not the bike' to 'Twilight got kidnapped and Time is the target of a mafia that Ganon runs and also maybe killed a man once' and I don't know how that happened. Also, this is the condensed version of the summary. My actual summary/outline is much, much longer than this. So if there's any detail you want more on, feel free to say so and I'll happily go into more detail (there are so many things I didn't even mention....)
And yes, Robbie having a bong is very important to my best friend, for some reason. He has one in a modern AU and he probably invented one in canon. I happen to agree that this makes sense for his character, if anyone would invent a bong in LoZ it's Robbie (this is such an anticlimactic end to this ask after the stuff about the modern AU...)
Also, sorry for the long ass ask. I genuinely don't know how to condense the Adoption Au down any further. There's a lot of important plot beats to cover, and I still skipped things.
-Attllhak
oh my GOD???? if you ever write and post this somewhere id love to read it, the level of "crazy" conspiracy/action movie elements implemented sound sosososo cool, from Ganondorf being Deku's half brother to trying to "send a message" via Twi and- just- all of this is SO good.i sat here and reread this ask like 3 times as if that would magically spawn more info about it ahaha
there's so much to unpack here but it's honestly so worth it i love every single detail!!! i can imagine the actual outline being way longer, nad honestly that just makes me the more excited/curious about all that might be missing from this ask - i cant believe it started with Wild and Wars going to Taco Bell of all things
also i can totally see Robbie making a bong, no matter the setting or AU. fits him a lot I'd say
and dont worry about long asks!! i adore opening up my askbox to see one ask take over the entire thing, it makes me really happy aha
#attllhak#im once again rendered speechless (in a good way) by your creative mind attllhak#tortilla asks#long post#linked universe#ask to tag#injury mention

hey Kip! I’m sending asks into different writer’s askboxes, inquiring about cool themes/development facts/stuff the author wants to share about their personal favorite work of their own. What’s yours? :)
Ok so this ask is old and when I first got it I was like “dang I don’t really have a lot to talk about, what should I talk about I could those revalink headcanons the Kip Cut that turned into a working fic uhh hmm maybe I’ll just make something new to talk about real quick” and then I did and now there is a 12+ chapter Revalink fic in my drafts and I’m gonna talk about that now, whoopsie doopsie [click "j" to skip]
aHEM, OK so allow me to break out the primary school white board because yeah, I have a lot of thoughts and the oxford comma has not yet made it’s home into my brain. oh and spoilers for paraphrase. for both all of Chapter one and future events in later chapters, but it’s really nothing you couldn’t surmise from the AO3 tags
so I really wanted to tell the story of Revali and Link learning and struggling to love again after the less-than-fortunate events of Botw, but I wanted a...how you say...fresher, approach on the subject? Like I know we always say that fanfic writers writing the same tropes and stories time and time again is good because we eat that shit up--but at the same time I had asian parenting as was told never to half ass anything ever, no matter what. So now I'm gay and extra and have depression maybe and oh would you look at that @motherhyrule has dropped a beautiful revalink prompt right into my lap
Great so now that we have, that, I shall take you on the step by step process on how to make a :sparkles: story. So step one is to spend at least five to eleven business days for your white board to dismantle your genre and themes and work them around your character arcs. Luckily I have prepared one ahead of time
s*breaks out those laser pointers that uni professors use* So let's start with defining genre. As define because I HATE you, fuck you. I want you to suffer and writhe on the ground, motherfucker. How dare you think that I would give you nothing but pure predictable fluff, fuck you and yours
is the set of expectations that your audience has when consuming a piece of media
And the great thing about fanfiction is that unlike movies or book where the genres are more vague like, "oh it's a noir mystery genre. so there's a crime, maybe a murder, and a detective and a criminal." or "oh it's a teen romance. so there's some white people and a morally questionable six-pack 18 year old love interest that will be painted as desirable for some reason" BUT with fanfiction HALF of the work out the window, because as soon as you see those #revalink #aro sidon #zelpha #revali is an idiot and #found family tags you already know what's up.
Now what's so great about genre and expectation? Well the fun thing about it is that
I will use it to fucking break you.
... ... ...
<3 For example! <3
In Chapter 1: Holes, you already expect there to be revalink, you already expect them to be soulmates with the soulmarks and there's angst and yadayada ya. Revali and Link have to match because thatttss what this is all about, this is about them! This is about cute, little soulmarks and romantic words!
But whoooopsie doopsie [disney channel laugh track plays] they DON'T match anymore! Link's got a different mark! The number one rule of this entire genre has been broken whoooooooooooooooops. *ba dum tiss*
You might notice with a lot of my writing that I do this a lot, this whole..."oop but there's one little thing that's different." TebaSaki sick fic? Ok cool, but what if Teba burns an irreplaceable relic of the Rito champion to fight a wizzrobe first to characterize why his dumbass clicks with Saki. Mipha deciding to persue Link? Ok what if she chases after a dragon to externalize this conflict as she pierces it's flesh for a scale. Link fighting a Lynel? Ok but what if it's actually a sidlink angst fic in disguise and it's also world building on how Link deals with the bloodmoon that erases all of his efforts which is sort of similar to how his existence was erased from Hyrule 100 years ago mwaahahaha! Ok now that I say this outloud I think I just have a pattern of using fight scenes to externalize character growth. I like fight scenes...anyways.
I think another great thing about the realm of fanfiction is that with the tagging system, I can basically use a chekhov's gun sort of deal, without doing any writing. You know I'm gonna use that gun marked "soulmates" but you don't know when I'm gonna shoot it, and you SURE as hell don't know how.
And huzzah! One of the main points of conflict both drives the tension between Revali and Link, solidifies the unique genre and setting of this world, while also creating a new mystery that will carry over for the next few chapters.
Is Revali right in that Link's rebirth makes him destined for someone new now? What will Link do with the information that his soulmark has changed? Why did it change? Did Revali's change as well? How does anything fucking work right now?
And sure, you might be able to tell where things will end with them, but you sure as fuck will not know how because I HATE you. Fuck you. I want you to suffer and writhe on the ground, motherfucker. How dare you think that I would give you nothing but pure predictable fluff. I am not your goddamn fairy godmother, I will do as I fucking please. You will suffer as you fucking deserve, fuck you and your little tiny--
/j
Oh! But you might have noticed on my little planning whiteboard thing that there was a little T-Chart! For Revali and Link! That's because the next important thing besides plot (and in a lot of cases, including this one, it's argued to be even MORE important than plot) is
~CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT~
[to the tune of that history of the world video on youtube]
So yes, it's a little T-Chart outlining their character views in relation to the themes. And the great thing about themes is that they're not something you can necessarily predict in the same way you can with the genre and plot.
But now see, I'm very lazy so I'm just gonna plagiarize @hyrule-kingdom-updates thingy [that you should read btw] because they said my point quite clear enough
Now I don't really need to care about those points about bond and relationships and being understood, because I'm dealing with already established canon characters. I'm not some NERD who dabbles with entire casts of ocs who even cares about ocs not me that's for sure ahaahahaahahahahahaahahahahahAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH *cries in my orphaned WTTU fic* AHAHAHA*sobs*DONT FUCKING LOOK AT ME THAT WAY I SWEAR--
/j I love ocs
But the points I do wanna focus on is the idea that characters provide new perspectives on the theme, and that characters growth can be tracked based on their wants, lies, and needs.
So see, themes can be predicted the same as genre/plot because while you can have the same fanfic plots and tropes, theme will always vary!
Sometimes it's a journey of selfworth with Revali! Sometimes it's an exploration of trauma with Link. Sometimes it's about how you deal with the vulnerabilities of love with Mipha. Sometimes there's straight up NOOOO theme, and people just be fucking, and kissing, and baking, and having a good time. And that is totally fine too!
But I'm not a fucking coward.
I'm gonna weave in themes with my plot, because I fucking can.
I'm not a weakling like you.
Do you hear me, 2019 Kip? Do you hear me Demmers? Do you hear me Quill? I'm coming for your ass. You think you're so great, but I'm coming for you. Rest assured that your graves will be as deep as your sculptured pride--
Heeeere is that T-Chart again, plus more!
yyyyyYou might notice that Revali and Link are quite parallel, to paraphrase. Ayoooo, see what I did there? *dabs* I'm a genius. Anywho
They both start off the same way: 100 years ago they were in love and happy. Basically the equivalent of childish naivety. For the first time in their lives, life is whimsical and charming, and they make each other happy. In fact, it's almost a flaw with how they perceive this happiness. But don't worry! It doesn't last long!
You know what happens.
I think the chart is pretty self explanatory. Revali builds walls fast enough to give a republican a wet dream. Meanwhile Link makes every aromantic in the chat groan with his doubled down sentiments in the idea that his chances of being truly happy again are gone.
Now, I can't exactly describe the full on process of the inbetweens, and where Revali and Link are gonna go from here, because...you have to read it for yourself! Heehee...but something I did think was fun was how these character views on the themes are revealed. Because you'll notice that, I never give exposition. Ever.
Ok well, let me rephrase that. I never give exposition scenes. I will never give you a big LOTR fancy wizard scene explaining the ins and outs of a character's question or the world's magic or whatever. I'm a very impatient Kip, and I value efficiency. Nonono, it's all about multi tasking, baby!
Chapter 1: Holes is divided into three parts.
Post 100 Years - Medoh (Establishes Ghost Rev/Bonk Head Link's view)
100 Years Ago - Flight Range (Establishes old Revalink views)
Post 100 years - Mark (Develops Ghost Rev/Bonk Head Link's view in contrast to who they once were)
I think the way that you structure flashbacks is incredible vital, as it's a very quick way to characterize people without having them say stuff like "I used to be like you, until I took an arrow to the knee" or whatever.
And with the main structure of the chapters and the fic as a whole is focus on their characters, that means I can hide whatever other stuff I want in those scenes, becuase you're too busy absorbing the fun character stuff to realizing I'm giving you boring exposition. Like for example:
Post 100 Years - Medoh and Mark
Foreshadowing for the end of the fic
Set up connection to Medoh with Revali
Link has defeated Windblight
Link has been visiting Revali every night for the past few days
Link has already met Kass and presumably Teba
Link doesn't have the Mastersword
Revali's Gale is still an ability that needs master and practice on Link's end
And that's just some of the stuff.
And see, the only reason I can efficiently give all of this information regarding character, and even exposition, is because of the theme. The themes make everything relevant, and everything circles and encompasses one another, so there's absolutely no wasted space. I mean don't even get me started on how it's gonna be to characterize the other characters around this
I don't wanna talk about the other characters too much either because that's spoilers, but you can probably take a gandar based on my notes.
And oh my god this is just on the theme of the faults that come with "soulmates" and "true love" and all that, and how even magical destined relationships still require work and effort, and that no one thing or person solves all your problems. And that's not even TOUCHING the shit on trauma and scars. I didn't think it was even possible for me to talk about botw without touching on that, ha. Ah well, I've been talking for too long.
Revalink has a lot o' writing potential so das pretty cool yeah, I am excite

Please do more of the writing head canons. It’s really interesting to see other people’s ideas on the topic, so if you can be bothered, I would highly appreciate more, thanks bye <3
Y’all don’t know how happy I am to talk about these headcanons, they are my babies and I love them so much :’) thanks for asking g <3
Handwriting Headcanons
Same dynamic as before, try to guess whose handwriting it is before reading and tell me how many you got right! <3
You can find the first post here (no need to check it tho)
Quick disclaimer: halfway through making my initial notes, I remembered I had one (1) single lesson of graphology in my applied linguistics class, but that was a year ago and some information might be off. I just thought it was neat to include.
Another quick disclaimer: I don’t know much about Hylian, but I like to think it has a similar stroke system to Japanese, so the pressure and accuracy of your strokes play a major role in your handwriting (among other things, ofc.) so there are some parts where I focus more on that
(First Row, from left to right)
Sky
Our first boy is mother hen! Believe it or not, he has the prettiest handwriting out of all of them! Sky: probably has nice, even elegant handwriting because Sun forced him to practice when they were little. In the end, that paid off because his handwriting is the prettiest one. There’s no pressure, but he is confident in what he writes that his lines aren’t thin. Mistakes? what is that? this boy has impeccable grammar and spelling. No mechanic errors to be found in his letters! I’d like to think that many of Hyrule’s classic/staple poems were originally written by the firt king aka sky child. Like, imagine, after a retiring from being a Person of Power (as the first ruler), Sky finds comfort in the arts: revisits his old woodcarvings and starts writing poetry about the world he still doesn’t fully understand. wowie. tldr: sky writes poetry and you can pry it from my cold dead hands.
This is what one of his letters would look like:
Next one is the one and only, our Hero of Time
2. Time
I’ll die on the “Time didn’t know how to read and write” hill. His handwriting is simple, not pretty but not messy. It has some grammar and spelling mistakes here and there. Can become unreadable if writing in a hurry, he sorts of forgets spaces between words are a thing/letters have different sizes and lowercase letters end up the same size as capital letters. I’m not saying he sometimes forgets to write articles: he just doesn’t want to. Honestly, he just has this dad-neat handwriting. He is a gentle dad and writes like a dad, if he puts too much pressure onto the paper, his handwriting become too sharp/angle-ish and ends up looking ugly. And as much as he would like to not care about it, in the end he does (:
Malon taught him how to write and it was quite the experience. At first he didn’t want to because he was ‘too old’ to learn and it was torture at first, but now look at him devouring his cowboy novels.
A chunk of his handwriting:
*sniff* such a dad quote.
3. my mansss, your 4x1 deal at Target: Four
Look, my boy is patient! He could do some nice and fancy lettering if he wanted to. He was taught that handwriting and spelling said a whole lot about him as a person, you know, like a first impression kinda thing; so he always proof reads more than twice before sending a letter. Super rare grammar mistakes.
The faster he writes, the more slant his writing becomes. Under stress/ when not sure how to write things down, run-on sentences are everywhere and his handwriting is inconsistent in general (I don’t headcanon each part of him having completely different handwriting because handwriting becomes muscle memory over time. It’s just slightly different variations of the same, like idk Vio’s handwriting is neater than Green’s and Red writes hearts instead of any dot/circle and no, I do not take constructive criticism on that, jk i do.) Adding on to each of the colours’ handwriting, I’d think Red and Green write with words slanted to the right( inclined), Vio is a mix of the opposite, so reclined and straight, and my mans blue a true neutral writes straight (kinda like Time’s).
The logic behind this is that inclined writing supposedly means honesty and need for giving (and getting) affection; reclined means, as you can probably imagine, defensiveness and repression of true feelings, but also shows great concentration; straight handwriting means self-control, observation and reflection as well as distrust and indifference. But as complete being (tm), Four just writes as in the image example which is not too straight and not too inclined, and I believe that’s a good middle for him
HOWEVER, if I’m feeling in the mood for crack, I totally accept this boy to have the ugliest, chicken scratches-looking handwriting! :’D It’s just funny to think that someone like him, who has to be precise and careful in his work, can't write neatly to save his life.
One of his letters would look like this:
Also I just LOVE how his hero titles look in this font ksksks
and that’s
(Middle row, from left to right)
4.- Mister Bunny Boy - Legend
His uncle taught him how to write. I’d call his handwriting pretty and neat at a first glance, but he presses too hard on the paper, most of the time staining the back or the following page. Sometimes will retrace some words if he doesn’t like how it looks (which only makes it messier). According to my notes, a thick or strong handwriting represents determination/commitment.
As I also headcanon him to know many languages, mechanical errors are more present than grammar ones; that is, weird capitalisation of words. Punctuation is somewhere in between; uses too many commas when he should just cut the sentence. he mixes punctuation from two languages or more in writing when too distracted (or too focused, because, well, pressure.); when he writes for himself, he has almost no problem following said language’s punctuation rules. Also, this is just polyglot culture, and I’m projecting a bit, but when he forgets a word in the language he’s writing, he just replaces it with its equivalent in another language because we don’t care about fluency, but rather functionality. in this household (more on that in my language hc, ksksks).
An example of his writing:
so powerful
4.- Mr. Wolfman, howl me a song - Twilight
I don’t have much for him because 1) I don’t think he writes a lot and 2) he is a hands-on/visual learner, I’ll die by that. He only learnt how to write because Ulli insisted it was important and he was not about to disrespect his momma; he IS That Guy, but doesn’t really write enough to have neat handwriting.
Many people seem to overlook the fact that his house is filled with books and write him as completely illiterate (which if not explored properly, ends up feeling a bit disrespectful and full of prejudice, but go off I guess; and that’s on my core Headcanons for Twi); however, he sticks to simple sentences. Knowing how to read and understanding a text is different from knowing how to write them. Like, when we would see a semicolon and understand its position in the text, but didn’t understand the nature of it. Is this clear? idk i’m sorry. So yeah, boy reads a lot, writes very little.
As for his Actual Handwriting, as opposed to Legend, his handwriting is thiccc but not because he presses into the paper; he is just that messy, he has no sense of ink-flow-control, he does what he can with what he has. To the untrained eye, his handwriting illegible letters like v, n, u are very similar; when he makes notes for himself he does it in the form of doodles or small ‘icons’. But! He reads a lot, so he rarely makes spelling mistakes (: he is your go-to guy when you don’t know how to write a word.
An example of his writing:
He keeps a journal, sue me.
3. My first born- Warrior
Okay, first off... I accept this is completely biased. I saw the idea and said “That’s True”. If you haven’t, please read Effective Communication; or The Lack of Thereof by htruona, a fic where the boys reflect on the language barriers between them. It’s incredibly funny and probably what made me start making these silly notes. So, if you’ve read that fic, you know where I’m going.
My man, Warrior, can’t fucking write. I mean, he physically can, but it’s very bad. Here’s the reason for it, tho, and it’s not his fault: Technically, he knew how to write alright but he joined the military and whatever note he had to write had to be concise or in the worst case coded. He mixes capital and lowercase letters. If we consider that he joined the military at around 15, his handwriting and grammar had yet to continue developing. Just think about how after summer break, your handwriting was always slightly worse than before because you didn’t write for an entire month. Now think what 2 years can do to that. Hmm, not cool, dude. He makes quick notes, when writing he’s all gotta go fast. he is the lighting mcqueen of writing; good for emergency messages, not ideal for love letters. His punctuation also suffered a lot, he only know full stops and commas and hardly uses them. A sentence for him is either one word or fifty without a single comma, no inbetween.
His hero title and an example of his writing.
(Bottom row, or what I like to call “fuck cursive” row)
7.- Magic man - Hyrule
I’m basic and I do agree with the popular headcanon of he not knowing how to write because well, y’all know his Hyrule. He only knows how to write his name because that’s important, same with numbers. I don’t see why would he write/read except checking the roadsigns. (he can even use this as an excuse for getting lost frequently; he thought it said something different.) But I do think that because his habitual reading consists of roadsigns, his ‘punctuation’ is weird af and places full stops/points/periods at the same level of his words and his commas/question/exclamation marks below them. Yk, creative license. Sadly, I don’t have much about my magic hands man so here’s what his writing would look like if he actually wrote a paragraph:
Man, I love Hyrule.
8.- Man, I don’t understand this boy - Wild
Cursive? ain’t nobody have the time for that. He woke up and had to save the world in his underwear while not knowing how to read nor write. He learnt during his journey and was taught by multiple people from different regions, that explains his inconsistent spelling of things and names for them. So Wild knows language variations for many items and uses them interchangeably (even if they aren’t exactly the same). Another headcanon related to writing/language skills that I’ve been thinking about is that if the shrine was able to cause amnesia, I’m sure there were other areas in the brain affected which leads us to language disorders such as agraphia and aphasia. But that’s a story for another day ksksksk
An example of his writing (after relearning)
9.- The best of sons - Wind
I don’t have much for him and that makes me sad. Look, he’s a kid, doing kid things like stabbing dudes on the head. This boy was taught cursive by his grandma, but could never do it and no one needs it anyway. His handwriting is good enough for his pirate life, Tetra is the one to handle Official stuff, he just gotta sign. Spelling and grammar mistakes abound. He is still relatively young and can correct his handwriting if he desires. But same as Wild, with how many times he’s been thrown out and hit his head, I’m starting to consider some language disorder for him as well.
An example of his writing:
aaand that’s it.
Thanks, y’all for showing interest in this silly thing uwu it was fun to finally talk about this. If you ever want to discuss ideas/headcanons(especially if they are related to language and culture), I’m your person (: I’m always happy to hear new headcanons. Feel free to add anything to this post either in a reply or in a reblog, I’d love to hear from y’all <3<3

To go serious with the whole video game bosses as akumas thing, from what I can tell few are truly after ruling the world, like Bowser his main goal is getting his crush to fall in love/marry him, and Ganondorf, yes he wants to rule hyrule, but his people are often looked down upon by others, not always mind you, but this has happened before. Sephiroth wants revenge for what happened to his ancestors, Eggman is the only that wants to rule the world
Someone get on Eggman's tragic backstory! (I'm kidding!)
BUt yeah.
Bowser can be chill. Personally I like the idea that the Mario games are mostly just fun, well, games. No one actually gets hurt it's all a very elaborate competition. Side-ish games like the TTYD or Super Paper Mario are where the real threats come in. So in this, Bowser himself would be more on Team Miraculous's side. (Actually, if you want more of what I'm talking about, check out @earthsong9405's stuff it's great!!)
Ganondorf..... Oh boy. I have a lot of Headcanons here. A lot of it is very nature vs. nurture on how much of his evil actions are fueled by that. But that's being saved for LoZ: No Fate so I'm not going to go whole hog here. But I will say that he might be persuaded to either side.
idk enough about Sephiroth to make a judgement call.
Eggman still fits the whole 'I can't take over the world if someone else destroys it!' thing.

Chain Love Language Headcanons
Masterlist
Self explanatory people!
This time I’ll dive a bit into what love languages the chain will be most inclined to exhibit to their loved ones.
First ones are the ones I personally headcanon and the second are the second result of taking this quiz in their stead.
Let’s go down the list!
Hyrule
I’ve talked about this already, multiple times actually, but oh well.
His biggest way to show his love for others is through Physical Touch.
Whether it’s a hand on the shoulder or an arm around you or hugs or hand holding- you name it- he’ll do it.
The next biggest thing would probably be Quality Time.
He doesn’t have a lot of friends and he has low enough confidence to almost expect to be brushed aside and forgotten- sometimes he tries to let it happen on purpose.
So take the time to listen to him and include him on things and be close to him.
He appreciates it when someone takes the time to pay attention to him and wants to do something with him even if it’s as simple as checking out an old cave or what shined in the distance.
Be his travel buddy, yeah?
Twilight
Twilights would be Acts of Service.
He likes to feel helpful and useful and knows that there’s a lot that he’s capable of doing so he might as well be the one to do it.
He doesn’t want the people he cares about to work too hard or struggle so he offers his assistance whenever he can. (Watch for this, he can be prone to double book himself and take on more than he can chew).
The next biggest thing would probably be Quality Time.
It’s special for him when he can be with someone he cares about and do something or nothing and just exist next to each other.
He like to listen to people when they talk about things and when they listen to him in return just because they want to- even if neither of you know or care about wat the other person is talking about.
Or even if you get to do something together, anything.
Fishing, horse back riding, strolling through Kakariko Village, hiking- just spend time with him.
Four
Four’s love language would be Acts of Service as well.
He’s a man who always has to have his hands moving. He’s always doing something- he always has to be productive- he has to always be making something.
So he’s quick to put himself to work so that the people he cares about don’t have much to worry about. His brain works too fast for him to keep up with some stuff and he naturally shoulders a lot of work anyway. And if someone helps him out with a project he was struggling with of with the chores around the house that he wasn’t to attend to?
Well he’s bound to repay you tenfold.
He doesn’t make the rules just abides by them.
The next biggest thing would probably be Gift Giving/Receiving.
If this boy receives gifts of any kind he’s going to treasure them forever.
It’s going to go on display (if it can).
and since he’s always on the move with his projects, he’s going to constantly be making things for his friends and loved ones. Small things, big things, things they need to work with or repairing their tools and so on- or just getting them new ones all together- you name it.
Legend
Legend’s love language I think would fit best under Quality Time.
He doesn’t have a lot of friends, he doesn’t have a lot of family.
His whole life has been making connections and losing them either through circumstance or through the passage of time- his life has been nothing but goodbyes.
He cherishes the moments he gets to spend with the people he cares about.
Please spend time with him.
His second would probably be Words of Affirmation.
Similarly with the first one, he’s used to being on a deadline, a set amount of time he can spend with a person and he’s tired of getting to the end and looking back and wishing he could have said something different and or told them something else.
He’s quiet when he tells others that he cares about them- he’s got a large pride that keep him from screaming from the rooftops, but he appreciates it when he’s told that people care about him.
He gets in his head that he’s not good enough, that people don’t care and he’s going to be on his own time and time again.
Please tell him you love him and care about him.
He doesn’t have any one to tell him that they’re proud of him.
If he says that he cares about you, he means it.
Wild
Wild’s love language would probably be Words of Affirmation.
A lot of people write him as being the quietest of the group but hear me out.
He still communicates and he’s loves so much, and he’s not going to be silenced anymore in what he thinks either through sign or his voice.
He’ll tell others he loves then, cares about them, that he’d do anything for them and he’d tell them often.
It means more to him if others tell him something of equal of greater value.
He didn’t get to hear a lot of praise and acceptance growing up and even less so when he joined the guard. It was always things he was expected to do and he had to do it without complaint.
Let him know you care.
His second love language would probably be Quality Time.
He’s spent a lot of time on his adventure alone.
And he wants to share the so much of the world he got to experience with the people he cares about.
He’s lost a lot of people close to him as well and he doesn’t want to take anyone else’s time on earth for granted. It once seemed like they would be around him forever, but now?
He wants to do everything and see everything and he wants to show you as well.
Even if it’s a simply as horseback riding together or just chilling out as it rains- or he goes to catch frogs in the river, he just wants to spend time with the people he cares about, he happens to have a lot of it now so he wants to put it to good use.
Time
Time’s love language would be Receiving/Giving Gifts.
He didn’t get a lot of things for himself as a child and the things that were given to him were of high importance.
It was ingrained in him to cherish and protect the things given to him with his life if need be. He’s more appreciative of the little things though when people give him a small gift that reminded them of him.
Smaller gifts over one large is more his speed.
He doesn’t need much to be happy but he likes giving things to others as a way of showing his love and hoping that they’ll cherish them as much as he cherishes the things he receives.
His second love language would probably be Acts of Service.
He’s always felt the need to be useful and there’s little that he can do.
Besides his time and energy is another way to give someone a gift right?
Even if it’s not the physical sense where he would have close to nothing to actually give you, he might as well give his strength and body and power to those he loves, to protect them, to make sure they’re safe and warm and never needing anything- so that they’re never without.
Don’t let him over work himself because he will.
Warrior
Warrior’s love language would be Act of Service.
He has a weird relationship with it though.
Because it’s always with underlying feeling of still not being enough- there’s more for him to do, everyone is relying on him and he can’t fail his loved ones so he has to give it his all in everything.
He doesn’t even realize he’s doing it more than have the time so you’re going to have to tell him to calm down. He just everyone he loves to be safe and happy and healthy and it ends up running him ragged half the time.
That being said, his second love language is Words of Affirmation.
Because he’s working so hard for the people he loves, he would rather hear that they’re proud of him and that they love him.
He’s quick to sprout pet names and sweet nothings to his lover and he wants them to know that he cares about them so this guy doesn’t shut up about his love ever.
He’d leave a note for them to find their work place to let them know that he cares about them.
And he tells them daily.
He’s quick to tell people how much he appreciates them and how important they are to him.
He knows it keeps people going and he never wants to see his loved ones give up.
Wind
Wind’s love language would be Physical Touch.
He’s always hugging someone or holding onto their arms or their hands, it’s just how he like to be close to people.
His sister tends to grab onto his hand at random intervals so he’s used to it and even grows into doing it to other people.
It’s how he shows that he feels safe with people and how he wants to keep those he cares about within reach in case he ever needs to protect them.
His second love language would be Quality Time.
There’s not a whole of people out on the sea and he’s spend a good portion of his adventures traveling alone and even then, it’s just him, his grandma and his sister.
With everyone going out to do their own thing, it’s hard to find someone who will take the time to do things with him so he appreciate any and every bit of attention he can get from other people.
Sky
Sky’s love language would be Receiving/Giving Gifts.
People on Skyloft are not shy about showing affection for one another.
Handholding and hugs and just telling people you’re important to them are all common place.
It’s not a big deal.
But Sky like to go the extra step beyond to give the people he cares about a small token of his love, so that even when he’s not around to say it, or show it, it’s a little reminder that he cares about them.
And yes, this implies he’d little love notes around for his love to find just because he wants to.
His second love language would be Quality Time.
He just likes being around people and it’s the time when he can tell and show people that he care about them.
It’s the time where he can say he cares and hug the people he cares about- they don’t even have to be doing anything- for all they could be doing is going flying together as the sun sets- he lives for the little moments.
Definitely the kind of guy to be up in the kitchen at 3 am, slow dancing with his lover as they take a break from making cookies.

the annotated Tome of the Wild
Part five: Babes in the Wood!
- A half-moon the color of yellowed pages hung high in the sky above the figures on the ground OH LOOK IT’S THAT SAME DAMN MOON AGAIN. DESPITE THAT DAYS HAVE GONE BY AND IT DEFINITELY WOULDN’T LOOK THE SAME AT THIS POINT.
- “Idiot child. Perhaps I should've done something to make you more intelligent, instead of just transforming your body.” And here we have confirmation that it was Koume that changed her into this.
- Of course, the centerpiece of this scene is the reveal of what Midna’s been up to this whole time. In the show, the situation for Beatrice is similar: she thought that Adelaide just wanted a couple of kids to do household chores, and was fine with just turning them over to her in exchange for the item she needed to break her and her family’s curse. Until, of course, she grew to like them and have second thoughts, as Midna does here. Which of course lines up with how Midna initially thought to just use Link in TP to help herself and her people, until his actions and Zelda’s made her reconsider her disdain for the people of the world of light. Here it’s her bond with Aryll and Link that makes her hesitate to hand them over: she really likes Aryll, and after a rough start with Link they’re now getting along, and she feels a lot of sympathy for his situation with Mipha. She doesn’t want to keep them from getting home even for a little while, and when she finds out about Koume’s true intentions she draws the line, as her moral code won’t let her hurt others for her own sake and she knows Zelda wouldn’t want her to hurt anyone on her behalf either. This conflict and growth are exactly why I had an easy time casting Midna in this role, and I loved being able to write her and develop the dynamics she has with Link and Aryll.
- “Only the voice of the shadow that lurks in the woods, the king of darkness that rules the night, concerns me...” King of Darkness is one of Ganon’s titles in the series.
- “There is only his way.” A line that will be echoed by the Beast himself much later.
- “Aryll, I know!” Link froze as soon as the words were out of his mouth. We’re at the point where Link is snapping at his beloved baby sister, showing just how stressed out he is right now. He was able to relax more when Midna was around, but now her betrayal is driving him further along that path to despair I’ve been mentioning. He immediately apologizes, to his credit, but he’s still starting to crack.
- “You are in grave peril, and your fate, your very lives depend on if you heed my words or not! The Beast stalks you, seeking your fall into his grasp... but you must not allow him to capture you, you must not give in to despair!” He’s not wrong! Listen to him!
- The shadow laughed, a long, low sound that seemed to ooze up from the deepest depths of the earth where eldritch creatures slumbered, forgotten by time and the gods alike. Calamity Ganon emerges from deep beneath Hyrule Castle.
- “You forget, do you not, that your daughter's safety depends upon keeping me happy?” The first hint of the deception that the Beast is working on Rhoam.
- Aryll is now calling her frog Alfonzo, after the engineer in Spirit Tracks.
- AND THEN THERE’S NAYRU AND KOTAKE. This was one of the most FUN things I got to play with. The episode this portion is an adaptation of is probably my favorite in the show, and I had an utter blast toying with expectations here just as the show did. Maybe even more! The show leads you to believe that the character Kotake replaces is the sinister and evil one, preying on the hapless young girl that Nayru is replacing, only to yank the rug out from under you and reveal that the girl is possessed and trying to eat the brothers.
now, Nayru is from Oracle of Ages. You meet her at the beginning, whereupon she quickly becomes possessed by the evil sorceress Veran. Kotake, meanwhile, is present as a villain in OOT and a linked Oracle game, and as a friendly shopkeeper in Majora’s Mask. We just saw the villainous version of her sister at the beginning of this chapter. So... is she evil too? If you’ve never seen the show, have played OOT and MM but not the Oracle games, you probably got taken in just like a first time viewer of the show is. Only to find out too late, as does Link, that Nayru is the people-eating one, and not Kotake, who is indeed her MM self and not evil.
- Nayru laughed too, a pleasant sound reminiscent of harp strings being played. Nayru gives Link the Harp of Ages in OOA.
- Aryll has switched the frog’s name to Dr. Calip, after the NPC in BOTW who gives you the Cursed Statue shrine quest.
- “It is thanks to you that I shall finally be free to roam the outside world, after all.” DANGER DANGER, the evil spirit wants to roam free and EAT MORE PEOPLE.
- Aryll spots the danger, but mistakes it for her desire to see Link end up with Mipha and no one else. Which we all agree with, of course, but it’s not the real reason she’s uncomfortable. Link, meanwhile, is oblivious to it, at least partially because he’s sinking deeper into despair and contemplating just letting Mipha go out of his intensifying self-hatred over what he’s done to her.
- Nayru's eager whisper broke into his thoughts. He glanced up and saw her eyes gleaming with a sort of hunger as she gazed across the room at him. DANGER DANGER, SHE WANTS TO DEVOUR YOU. Again, I choose my descriptive words very deliberately.
- Eerie purple light glowed around Nayru as she hovered in the air, and her face had been twisted into something that resembled a ReDead mask. Veran’s spirit form is indeed purple, and nobody who’s ever played OOT, MM, or WW can forget the ReDeads. my favorite monster I want them back dammit
- “Link?” Aryll pressed herself against his side and clutched at his arm. “There are a lot of skeletons in here...” Remember how Aryll was so excited about digging up a single skeleton back in Ikana? Not so fun anymore.
- In the show, the whole sequence of trying to avoid being eaten was creepy, but a bit more comedic too. I leaned fully into the horror that it truly would be here, not just because I wanted to write something scary, but also because I needed something that would traumatize Link enough to push him into the breakdown he has in the woods afterwards, setting the climax of the story in motion. His feelings of failure mirror what I headcanon he must’ve been going through just before he fell in Blatchery Plain as well, the despair he would’ve felt over being unable to prevent the fall of the kingdom, the deaths of his friends (especially Mipha, who he’s grieving the most), and knowing that he’s at his limit and about to die before he can get Zelda to safety. Which is another way that the appearance of that painting in the last chapter ties in.
- Aryll’s dream sequence! OH BOY. In the show, this is an entire episode, done in the style of 1930s animation, with musical numbers and everything. That doesn’t quite translate to prose, though, so I had to change and abridge it. More interestingly, though, there’s subtle hints in the show that the dream is not real, and is intended to lure Greg, the younger brother, into the clutches of the Beast. I decided to run with that. One of the hints in the show is that the gates you see seem to be made of ivory; in Greek myth, dreams pass through one of two gates, either horn or ivory. True dreams come through the gates of horn, while false ones pass through the gates of ivory. So naturally Aryll walks through gates of ivory to reach the tower.
The tower itself is the one located in the Cloud Tops in Minish Cap. Which, here, is ruled by Princess Hilda from Link Between Worlds, who has Aryll save her kingdom from the evil Yuga. This is all a HUGE hint that this is false, a trap. Because in ALBW, Hilda was conspiring with Yuga in a desperate bid to save Lorule. And who took over Yuga’s body as part of that plan? Ganon. BAM.
- And now the frog is being called Ezlo, after the talking cap in Minish Cap.
- Link is now so deeply in despair that the dekuwood is starting to grow around him, which is what motivates Aryll to make her deal with the Beast that brings everything to its eventual conclusion.
- A dark shape emerged from the curtain of snow; it was a small, plump man with a beard that covered the entire lower half of his face, rowing a rickety little boat. His eyebrows went up as he took in the sight of Midna lifting the unconscious Link into the air with her prehensile hair. “That is one strange fish you've caught there, missy...” This is the fisherman from Link’s Awakening.
- What Midna sees in the distance is the Great Deku Tree, but I wasn’t about to reveal that just yet.
and that does it for part five!

Got any Shant headcannons? I've seen that ship floating around a bit and it seems cute
Shant is, for anyone wondering, the name of the crackship between Shad and (a good guy) Zant, the origins of which I go over somewhat loosely in this post. Of all my TP ships, it is the most ridiculous, but alas, I am jester and this is my court. So! Some headcanons, shall we?
When Zant first moves in with Shad (more on that here, what I’m about to say was more or less covered in that post too), he spends most of his time cooped up in his room with the door shut tight, feeling very out of place amidst Hyrule and its denizens. Whenever he does leave his room, he consistently refers to Shad as “the purple one” and “the scholar” in a Supremely Jackass Move to Top All Jackasses, but despite his stubborn refusal to try and acclimate to his new surroundings, Shad’s continued respect of his boundaries and patience throughout the whole thing is what makes Zant realize that maybe living in Hyrule won’t completely suck.
This went on for months, during which time Shad spent a lot of time reporting back to Zelda on what the dude was up to (Zant was entirely aware of this, he has his past looming over him, after all) and lamenting his inability to connect with him in any meaningful way, as that was entirely the reason he agreed to let Zant move in with him to begin with. Eventually, he gets the idea to try something new - maybe he spends some time with Midna, learning all there is to learn about the Twilight Realm, so he can help Zant feel more at home - and this is the tipping point that makes Zant apologize for his Supreme Jackassery, in a very brief but genuine moment where Zant calls him by his actual name for the very first time (Shad is caught extremely off-guard by this). Yippee!
Here’s the thing about Zant: he Does Not Like to Be Touched. At all. There are very few exceptions to this rule, but it’s mostly a sensory thing. So it’s pretty significant that, after the two start spending actual time together (mostly spent around books, Zant pointing at a picture of a cow in a children’s story and going “what the f**k is this,” stuff like that) and, one night, Shad asks if it’s okay for him to reach up and touch his face...that Zant says yes. And here’s where the dam really bursts open; Shad is just so, so interested in everything about him, his eyes, his runes, the shape of his body... It’s the first moment of closeness they really have, and even though Zant is a little overwhelmed (and embarrassed) by all of his questions, he’s also kind of...warmed? By them.
Not long after this, Shad convinces Zant to try eating for the very first time (there is no food in the Twilight Realm), which Zant really only does to make Shad happy, because that slop looks nasty and gross! ...And most of it is, except...it turns out the dude has a bit of a sweet tooth. So he gets into baking. Hard. Cookies. Pastries. Cakes. Pies. Brownies. Those little breakfast croissants that have chocolate chips in them. He dedicates so much of his time to it that Shad’s place is littered with the stuff, and Shad doesn’t really like sweets at all but still tries everything Zant makes because he can tell Zant wants him to. In the end, it’s less about Zant liking sweets or any of the actual food itself than it is about Zant finding something new and hyperfocusing on it as his One Real Anchor on getting a grip with life in Hyrule, which Shad is aware and is very appreciative of.
(Zant still doesn’t really wind up eating that often, but any time he does, it’s gotta have a shit ton of sugar. And, like, the dude actually got really good at baking. When he sets his sights on something, he really goes for it.)
Zant helping Shad sort through old texts and uncovering new shit together, Shad helping Zant feel comfortable enough to walk through the streets of Castle Town at night (sunlight makes him uneasy), Zant noticing Shad’s glasses are dirty so he takes and cleans them before leaning over and gently placing them back on his face, Shad being in awe every time Zant uses magic to do literally anything
blah blah blah they open a library blah
Their relationship isn’t exactly one I would define as explicitly romantic (probably hovering somewhere between romantic and queerplatonic, as Zant has never been interested in anyone at all), but despite it never being discussed between the two of them, they are unequivocally Together, insomuch as they have no interest in Being With anyone else. It’s weird, what they have, but that’s good! Weird is good, yeah?
BONUS: Ashei and Shad are still very much two disaster gay BFFs in this scenario and she and Zant have to learn to occupy the same space every now and again which is INCREDIBLY funny because they’re both very Bad at Talking and just being around people in general (imagine, like, they’re trying to have a conversation comprised entirely of one word sentences. It is Not Going Well).
In summation, and I know I’ve said this before, but again: And They Were Roommates (Oh My God They Were Roommates)™

Another headcanon cause I can:
The first time a Link touches the Master Sword, he learns everything about his past reincarnations in a matter of mere seconds. The only flaw in this is that Four (From the Foursword and Minish Cap games) and Hyrule (Legend of Zelda and Zelda II Link’s Adventure) don’t have the Master Sword. Granted I’ve only played Breath of the Wild and a bit of Wind Waker (Sad I know) and the internet is the internet, so I could be wrong. But I’m pretty sure that the ‘Magical Sword’ From ‘Rule’s inventory is not the Master Sword. I could say that the Foursword and ‘Magical Sword’ do the same once earned but that would be stretching it because of the next part.
Why does this happen/work in the first place?
Fi. From what I know about her she is the Spirit of the Master Sword and also responds with facts and data a lot. Don’t take my word for it (-cries in I need to play more Zelda Games-) cause again internet. So anyway, my theory is that Fi inputs the data/memories about the Hero’s. It’s then put into the next Hero’s head because it might help temporally clear space. Then, when the Journey is done/it’s the last time the Sword would be weld by the Link, the data is put back in, but the memories still linger. Like recognizing faces, highly impactful or emotional moments, etc.
Some questions you may have after reading this.
But what about the timeline?
So Fi was created by Hylia and separate timelines imply multiple Hylias, but that’s not really how it works. Plus they merge back together (maybe?) with Wild (botw) so it’s not even a normal timeline split. So uh, Hylia is a Goddess and it’s magic and fictional? Idk (Wow, Ray such a great headcanon)
What about Wild, he didn’t get his memories back when he got the master Sword back!
So, based on above the data would probably be put in as he was dying. The oldest goes in first, as that is the least likely to recover. Fi was also working a lot slower at the time cause:
Yeah, look at Fi. If Wild is connected to Fi she would definitely sacrifice some data if it meant keeping the Link alive so Hyrule could be saved. No matter how it happened some data was defiantly lost.

So, this made me think. I have so many headcanons and theories, small and large that pop up in my head sometimes. I honestly think I should make side blog for it. That way y’all can ask questions ans submit theories of your own.
I wouldn’t wanna run it by myself so the first mutual that came to mind:
@morvith Only if you wanted to, it would be fun though. We kinda already do it so why not share it with the world
If anyone else is interested feel free to dm me!
