Saw Chris Hong Art do something similar a while back only with markers and I gave it a try as well, just digitally, because markers scare me, those are too permanent. And of course using the references that have been haunting me for a while. Attempted to draw these before, but never truly succeeded.
I think this is the closest I will get right now of being satisfied with the results.
