You know how white people use being scared as a weapon? All those videos of white women saying, "I called the cops because I felt like I was in danger" and how white guys have tiktoks about, "You need at least one semi automatic weapon close at hand at all times to defend your family" kinda shit?

That's what bothers me so much about watching fellow jews acting like just seeing a Palestinian flag or keffiyeh somehow automatically makes a place unsafe.

I mostly see it in US American jews posting about how they feel threatened by a Palestinian flag, or saying that anything referencing not wanting thousands and thousands of Palestinians to die is 'a call for jewish genocide'

Y'all. No. This tells me you have never interacted with a Palestinian or even the Muslim community at large. We diaspora Jews are not the victims here.

Curly had two days to act and Swansea had two months.

I think it’s just interesting that every defense of Swansea not immediately acting are the same ones that are argued against for Curly. “He didn’t want to alert Daisuke or makes things worse for Anya either Jimmy!” I mean people also assume that about Curly and the crew. “He has to think about his plan of action and a right moment!” Again so did Curly, power and authority aside, he still would have to think of what he had to do. “He makes sure he doesn’t have to be around Jimmy!” So did Curly and they only do this to an extent, both give Jimmy more than a few opening to keep harassing Anya.

This isn’t defense of Curly nor a damnation of Swansea. Their actions are very parallel to each others in tragic and sour ways when it comes to how they approached helping Anya. In the grand scheme of it all they both did the same thing: Nothing. No action either took stopped the inevitable outcome of her death nor Jimmy’s continued damage to themself.

The only real difference is Swansea didn’t like Jimmy which is pretty substantial, but also just as damning as Curly knowing how bad Jimmy could get to an extent. He had even less of a reason to wait, even more of a reason to act seeing as he was now worried for Anya AND Daisuke. He is not bound by the possible procedure as Captain and actively does not care about what happens next. So what does it matter if he acted in the moment? Why did he wait? I think he’s just as morally complex and grey as Curly and we hold him on a pedestal that still perpetuates things in rape culture the game critiques.

It’s not just enough to dislike and be abrasive to predators/abusers like Jimmy. It’s not enough to just put yourself between them and the other person. It’s not enough to hold tensions when you know someone is vulnerable. He and Curly do the exact same things but on different sides of the coin. I ask how is it better to not turn a blind eye but still not really do anything about what you are seeing? Not until it affects you atleast…

The game makes a big point to not put men doing the bare minimum or who wait to do more on pedestals and I’m actually surprised so many are missing that point.

Yeah I get that Edgeworth and Maya are besties who obsess over the steel samurai but that leaves Phoenix and Franziska time to hang out and you cannot tell me that they wouldn’t be a terrifying duo. They both get hurt in a way that would kill a lesser person and just end up at the courthouse like two days later to save the day running purely on spite and righteous fury. If their goals align they would be unstoppable and I am so serious. They meet up while their spouses are occupied with samurai con to go to the renaissance fair and immediately solve the murder at the renaissance fair.

I need disbarment era Phoenix weirdgirling all over Franziska’s interpol level crime scene. I think he should give her some weed to see if that would make the viewing experience of the steel samurai and other related franchises slightly more enjoyable. I think she needs some guy who can kick down doors to drag around when she doesn’t have Gumshoe access. She bullies him relentlessly and he’s just enjoying the nostalgia of it all.

Shuggy from Mihawks perspective must be so funny because he knows both of these idiots. I choose to believe he’s actually more perplexed when Buggy tells him (drunk, way too drunk. overly emotional.) that he has feelings for Shanks than it would be the other way around.

Usually people are flabbergasted when they realize Shanks is in love with Buggy of all people, but Mihawk just looks at the clown sobbing and his head lying in a puddle of his own tears on the floor and tries to reconcile the image Buggy has of Shanks “brilliant, shining, like the sun, the one I would have followed till the end, the one I looked at and realized I could never compare or be worthy off” with the mental image Mihawk has of Shanks.

And he knows Shanks is a fucking loser but the jealousy and the love he has for him still remains. Mihawk is more brutal with his opinion on Shanks. Like yeah, talented pirate, but really? Him? I wish people could tag stuff better:( Like damn I was just like 76% through a 120,000 word andreil fic and it was so good but then they threw in a past andrew/kevin storyline and I couldn’t finish it. I’m all for people liking what they like and i’m not mad that they wrote that or whatever bc it’s not my place but I just wish it had been tagged bc then I would have just skipped it.
