#i hate dark phoenix with a passion

dark phoenix is honestly the worst X-Men movie bc "oh it's the final one to tie into the original trilogy" Jean dies in dp though so how does she come back? Same with Raven she dies yet she's alive a few years later in the og trilogy? And honestly it felt like a person who worked on it (idk if I need to blame a writer, director, producer, whoever) straight up has never consumed any sort of X-Men in their life and just did Google searches (no shame bc more info) yet somehow came out with a massive hate boner against Charles???? Like who worked on Dark Phoenix? Charles' own family? Like I swear Brian Xavier, Sharon Xavier, Kurt Marko, and Cain Marko were brought on to work on this film???

I even talked about this movie over the holidays with my dad (bc i asked for xmen movies that weren't dp or the wolverine trilogy) and he said Dark Phoenix is to explain how Jean got her powers. Which is cool and all but I need another movie to explain how we got from where were in Apocalypse to Dark Phoenix and another that explains how Raven and Jean are alive???

Like if I am to believe that Dark Phoenix happens a few years to a decade prior to X-1 then how does Dark Phoenix and The Last Stand depict two different origins on how Jean came to be with Xavier and whether Erik was with Charles or not??? How do Raven and Charles believe they're not longer siblings?

Raven literally says in X-2 thst her family tried to have her killed. To me that implies her entire family (specifically I think she mentions just her parents implying she's an only child) which could be what happened prior to meeting Charles but in the prequels Raven and Charles do have a sibling bond even if they disagree they have a sibling bond and yet that's gone by the 2000s?

Literally i would have been chill with Dark Phoenix if Raven and Jean didn't die. If Raven had lived she and Charles could have bickered more, Raven - unaware Erik had also been captured - tries to save her brother from going to the containment facility. As Jean dies perhaps the Phoenix force ends up re-writing history as Jean has studied under both Charles and Erik and wishes they were both there when getting her to go to Xavier's school. Giving Raven and Charles a more estranged relationship. In the end they all mourn Jean but we see Jean parallel Wanda at the end of WandaVision where she's living in a cabin in the forest trying to control her telepathy on her own. But at the very, very end, we see Jean walk up to Xavier's school returning home.

I probably already wrote something about this but I will never stop talking about how badly written X-men Dark Phoenix is. If Dark Phoenix has zero haters, then I’m dead.

I absolutely despise how everyone in that movie villainizes him. Charles made a lot of mistakes, yes, especially when it comes to hiding what actually happened to Jean’s parents but it just seems so out of character from everyone to suddenly turn on him?

They blame him for Jean’s problems, for her not understanding herself, and it’s like no one takes a second to acknowledge that maybe Charles is just a guy trying to do his best. The worst part is, he’s always the one who’s giving—guiding, supporting, and protecting—but no one ever really checks on him. The people who should understand him the most (his students, his closest friends) seem to disregard him completely in this film. And it’s not like he’s some invincible figure who doesn’t need help; he’s clearly struggling, but no one seems to care. They just let him flounder, and that makes it feel like everyone’s turning their backs on the person who’s been there for them from the beginning. Charles was literally still mourning the death of his sister and Hank basically tells him how everyone should be afraid of him for the things he did.

In Dark Phoenix, Charles becomes a villain of sorts, but it feels like the movie’s creators didn’t know how to make this change feel earned. Instead of evolving his character in a believable way, they just throw him under the bus to make the stakes feel higher. The whole movie seems to forget the complexity of who Charles is and the positive impact he’s had on these characters. Rather than giving him a solid, well-deserved arc, the film turns him into someone who’s not only flawed, but also pretty unlikable. It’s a shame because, in the end, Charles is one of the most fascinating, multifaceted characters in the X-Men universe, and Dark Phoenix did him a major disservice by treating him so poorly.

And the worst part is, the movie doesn’t show anyone stepping up to help Charles. He’s not given the kind of emotional support that he has so often given to others. You’d think that after everything he’s done, someone would be there for him. But no. Instead, he’s left alone, isolated, and vulnerable, with no one offering him the same kind of empathy he’s given them for years. It feels like the movie forgets the essence of his character—the wise, compassionate leader—and replaces him with a broken, almost unrecognizable version of himself.

Touya Drabble

Sometimes I can't help but wonder how things would be for Dabi if he had stayed Touya. If his father had been to Sekoto Peak. If the course of life had gone on.

Touya would still grow to resent and hate his father as both a parental figure and a hero. It would never reach the level of pure hatred he has for Endeavour as Dabi, but the feeling of being thrown aside in Shouto's favour, of being nothing more than a failed designer baby, that, would always remain. He’s always had trouble controlling his emotions, because no one ever showed him how to. How long until he would run away from that house and all it represents? Fifteen, sixteen years old? Touya would still see his siblings and his mother, sometimes, but never his father. Never again. He would make him regret losing interest in him like a worthless toy. He'd become the greatest goddamn hero in Japan just to spite his father, and crush his pathetic dreams of being number one.

As a hero, Touya would be a lone wolf, refusing to work for an agency or any group that would try to use and publicize his title as Endeavor's son. He would fully shed away the last name “Todoroki”, because being part of that family's legacy had never brought him anything other than pain. Some would call him a vigilante more than a hero, but he has never really been one to care about labels, either way. If he would go by an alias, I'd like to think it would be something like Phoenix, a symbolic rebirth from the ashes of a past he's left behind (and a perfectly melodramatic name for his theatrical ass).

Touya would still have scars; although his body would never burn to the extent of Sekoto Peak, he would get heavy marks and scars from overusing his quirk, mostly around his arms and chest. At first, he hides them when he's out, not wanting to prove his parents were right about him slowly killing himself. It would be a cold day in hell before he admitted his father was right about anything. Then, tattoos and piercings start making their way into his life, and it becomes less and less about hiding the scars, and more and more about making them a part of his body. Dark swirls of ink would become indistinguishable from charred and marred skin, and he would show them of proudly. His skin would be a reminder of his determination, his drive to keep going despite being told he was weak. Nothing could bring the fire in him down.

It would take him time to forgive the rest of his family for not standing by him when he ran away. Natsuo and Fuyumi are the easiest, because Natsuo shares part of his anger towards their father, and he grows a begrudging respect for how Fuyumi tries to hold everything (and everyone) together. It takes him until he's eighteen to start accepting maybe his mother was a victim, too. Maybe her complacency with their broken household had less to do with cowardice, and more with wanting to protect her children. He'll bring her flowers at the hospital, from time to time, but he never apologizes for the words he might have yelled at her before. Apologies were never really his thing.

It takes Touya the longest to forgive Shouto. Deep down, he's known for a long time it isn't the youngest's fault. But it's hard not to feel anger at how easily he follows their father's plans, how stoic and seemingly devoid of any real identity he is. A puppet. It's only when Shouto joins UA that Touya starts seeing the fire of passion burn in his brother's eyes. Real emotions, trapped underneath the icy surface of the perfect child who had so efficiently replaced him. A bratty teen who bottled up his feelings until he exploded, finally letting others see how he felt all those years. His brother.

In many ways, Touya wouldn't have been very different from Dabi. He would still be angry, and hurt, and desperately in need for his father to notice him, one way or the other. But in many other ways, he would have been so different. He would have been a hero on his own terms. He would have been able to grow as a teenager rather than be trusted into adulthood with no landmarks or experience. He would not forget, but he would forgive.

But Touya died a long time ago, and these are just thoughts I get at night.

Anyways, another AU has been marinating in my mind, I like to call this one "Reborn Ancients", it gets the point across.

Basically, before the ancient cookies could get corrupted, their souljams self destructed. Causing the ancients to die with their souljams,

They quickly grew as tall as the beasts and started to fall and fade into nothing, leaving behind silhouettes of their giant forms in the land they fell on (like Golden Cheese leaving behind an oasis in the shape of her in the dessert, for example), the souljams dying with them.

Anyways, death doesn't stay permanent for beings like them, lol. So, for various reasons, they get thrown back into new lives. Here's a summary of the reborn ancients + their new names.

Whipped Vanilla Cookie: A very many winged shepherd who knows everything that has been and will be. He doesn't let that stop him from venturing the world with his bestie (Witch's Lily) and being a rambunctious happy little guy. (He believes that every sight looks better in person, and that applies to what he sees in his mind too)

Holly Bush Cookie: One tough plant lady, literally. She's just visiting between the dragons valley and the Hollyberry Kingdom, happy with the environment and enjoying the people within. She's also hunting down Pitaya Dragon Cookie because she wants to fight them. So she's thriving over all.

Cacao Dust Cookie: A very surprisingly sweet guy who just so happens to have four arms and kinda a spirit despite not being dead. He lives as a guide to people lost in the storms in the Dark Cacao Kingdom and as a swordfighting teacher. A group of spirits saw him guiding someone through a snow storm, thought he was some spirit king, and were attached to the guy by the time he told them that he was infact, just some guy with an odd appearance (unknowing liar).

Solar Cheese Cookie: Phoenix girlie was born from a lake in an oasis next to the Golden Cheese Kingdom's pyramids, eventually meeting the cheese birds and the cookies of the Golden Cheese Kingdom, and quickly swearing to protect their Kingdom and mines from the outside with a very sudden undying loyalty. Solar Cheese thrives in the oasis outside, flying about and fighting any force that dares to attack what she protects, and staring up at the blazing sun with determination. (She's gonna fight it.)

Witch's Lily Cookie: The Faerie Kingdom decided to handle the world's latest new being of darkness and chaos with a little more nurturing kindness and care, resulting in Witch's Lily not wanting to destroy the entire world, infact, she just wants to explore with her many, many dogs! And so she does, meeting Whipped Vanilla along the way and sticking with the guy (her dogs help heard his sheep, and he heals her when in danger, alongside being each other's friends). In all truth, she's a chaotic girlie who hates DE with a burning passion, loves her friend, and wants to have fun and see the wonders of life instead of being told them.

I have SO much more to say about these guys, so if anyone wants to ask about them, please do, I beg of you.

Short answer: no. Because I don't know shit about wand's lore :'D it really not passionates me. I only know about the differences between the cores, but idk if there's more. Faustine has the same wand as me, and it's good like this. I'm satisfied with our phoenix core, because it's the rarest and the one that allows you to learn the most spells, I think it suits her well because she wants to learn the most spells possible, and yk her ancient magic is rare so her core has to be rare too 😌

For the anecdote, right up to the end, I didn't know whether I wanted to open the repository or not :'D So I've adapted my own hesitation to her canon. Faustine chose to keep it closed, and not to tell anyone. When she gets in front of the repository, she's confused about her decision, and thinks of opening it to take the "evil/corrupted" magic inside her, so that no one else gets hurt but herself. At this point in the game, she's gone through a rollercoaster of emotions. She massacred the Rockwood camp and exterminated Ranrok's goblins with a coolness that almost frightened her. In the weeks before, she had seen the consequences of the dark wizards' and goblins' thirst for power, she had seen her loved ones suffer because of them, and just want everything to stop, even if it means sacrifice herself (she didn't know what would happend to her if she takes the corrupt magic, but she kind of know it wouldn't end good). As she told Professor Fig about her doubts while being tearful and exhausted, he reassured her and made her promise to do the right thing, aka not sacrifice herself for the greater good, because she's already strong enough as she is. After the fight against Ranrok and the death of Professor Fig, Faustine was again reluctant to take the magic, and would have done so had she not made this promise earlier. Because the professor's death confirmed her fear: she's not strong enough to protect her loved ones, and needs to become stronger to do so, even if it means sacrificing herself. But she'll keep her promise in respect of his memory, and seek power in another way, giving herself heart and soul to her future profession as an Auror and honing her "good" ancient magic.

OH BOY, YES I have ONE thing that I'd like to change more than anything else, which has been bothering me ever since I finished the game. Especially when I wanted Faustine's story to fit my gameplay, choices and dialogues. It's the quest after Sebastian kills his uncle, when you have the choice of learning the Avada Kedavra spell. Gameplay-wise, I wanted to learn all the spells, even the unforgivables, and I was pretty happy how it turned out for the other two, because Faustine learnt them but didn't use them at these time (even if she condemns their use, she prefers to learn them “just in case”). I think that for the Avada spell, this was really the worst time to learn it in terms of story. I hate how insensitive our mc is to a lost Sebastian, she even seems manipulative, all to learn this spell. No empathy. Even worse, she console Sebastian in his mistake! Which is fine for a dark wizard scenario, but it's not what I wanted. I used to rage in front of my TV when I heard the lines of dialogue :'D It's the only time Faustine was really out of character. So, in my canon, Sebastian doesn't even have time to offer to teach her this forbidden spell, because she's barely caught up with him on the way out of the catacombs before she's yelling at him like never before. Sebastian, who is already confused by his uncle's murder and Anne's reaction, runs away from Faustine, who regrets her reaction but still feels a mix of anger and panic at the situation. She'll learn the Avada Kedavra spell later, I don't know how yet, neither if she'll ask Sebastian, but she will.

Something I hate about Dumbledore lovers: He groomed Harry to die and be self-sacrifing. And Harry did die. The greatest magical being of the Wizarding world and his plan was to have Harry die at the right moment. Not even give him the hope that there's a chance that he could come back. But chose to die. Like I hate the greater good bullshit. And yes I have a love hate relationship with Dumbledore. But that, what Dumbledore did to Harry at the end. It comes into question everything he did and said from the very beginning. And he is very lucky Dumbledore didn't have another Voldemort or mini Grindledwald in his hands. Heck he's very lucky that Harry didn't just run away.

I hate Dumbledore with a passion of a hundred suns. He can take his greater good bullshit and shove it right up his ass

Both Grindelwald and Voldemort were monsters of his own creation in a way. He literally dreamed of world dominion with Grindelwald, so he knew exactly what kind of person he was, but he then did NOTHING to stop him for DECADES because he didn’t want to face him and “was scared to find out that it was him who killed his sister”. Bitch, it WAS you, no matter who used the spell. You killed her with your neglect and your brother has rightfully broke your nose and all but cut you from his life for it. (The shit with blood oath that they pulled in FB franchise is hysterically bad, but then again, so I’d the entire franchise. It’s not canon, or will never be canon, and it was so bad that I don’t care. I couldn’t even force myself to watch the third film. And that horrible styling they had with Depp…)

And then with Voldemort - he clearly admitted that he sensed smth off about him FROM THE BEGINNING and then suspected him with Myrtle’s death and… did nothing. Absolutely nothing. The history repeating itself in its finest. He had a GAZILLION of opportunities to stop him before Voldemort rose to his full power and he did nothing. His students have been performing dark magic or whatever on other students and he didn’t care. Did he fucking let it unfold to see how far it can go??

And then he starts recruiting young people just out of school to fight this war for him. Yes, we don’t really have the ages for anyone except the Marauders, Lily and Snape, but i do believe that the majority of the original Order were young people on their 20s-30s. And this hundred years old bastard convinced them to fight instead of DOING SOMETHING himself. The original order of the Phoenix didn’t win that war! Almost all of them died or suffered worse fates. And then he repeated the same shit 14 years later. He didn’t recruit children per se, but oh how he didn’t stop them from DOONG THE JOB OF THE ADULTS (and how useless all the adults were in these books, I can’t)

Regarding raising Harry to die at the right moment… I have no words how fucked up it is. First you lie to him and hide truth from him causing him to loose THE ONLY PERSON who could’ve protect him from you (I’ll die on the hill of Dumbledore wanting Sirius to die because he was a problem to his plans) and only then you show Harry that he has NO CHOICE whatsoever other than to fight Voldemort and then you… don’t teach him how to fight (because of course, you don’t want him to fight, you want Harry to be pliable and impressionable to you and your ideas)

I really wished that Harry would just sucker punch him when he saw him in that limbo place

Also… how fucked up it is that JKR would have Harry name his son after a manipulative bastard who orchestrated your entire life so that you’d be more easy to use and an abusive asshole who hated you and blamed you for your mother’s death and had a kink of making your life more miserable? Like how does one even come up with this????

After naming his first born after his dad and Sirius and already having Teddy be named after Remus, I really think that his second son should’ve been named Rubeus after Hagrid. Not sure about the second name though (I do believe that all Weasleys left Fred’s name for George’s son)…

I’ve been working on 4 stories for a long time, I’m not sure if anyone is interested but I’m still going to share a bit about them (only 1 of the stories does have a name- the other 3 don’t have a name yet)

1:

Our protagonist Xio Rilac, a 16-year-old girl who isn’t going through the best situation, her father is unemployed and an alcoholic, I think by saying those things it’s very clear of what kind of situation she is going through. Our protagonist one day finds a somewhat curious book, the book was written in an unknown language, apparently it seemed to be from another world, a world called "katakiz" in which it was full of creatures from many different worlds.

Apparently the author who wrote the book had been on earth before since in certain parts of the book she noticed many annotations in our language, in one of those annotations there was something… curious it was like a poem talking about katakiz, when Xio reads it a portal opened showing the world of katakiz.

2:

Our story begins in space, as always being a beautiful place full of stars, planets and galaxies, but… there is a figure of something… an astronaut? an alien? no…. the creator of the moon…. Phoenix

A being that seems to be made of stone, having dark blue skin with a rather curious scar that covers almost the entire part of his face, completely white eyes that hide a look of sadness and pain…. . A boy with a great passion for creating moons, hm? What do I mean by moons? In addition to being the creator of the moon in his universe… he is always in charge of creating all the moons of all possible universes… just like the creator of the sun… his best friend… Eleniol the creator of the sun.

3:

Giant floating islands….ruled by a great king…the lider of everything…King Athalaric….the king almost never shows himself to his kingdom…almost no one knows anything about him or his 5 children… whose names are unknown except for the youngest and the middle one…. Layla and Cyne… some think that Prince Cyne escaped but others think that he is dead… as for Layla… many in the kingdom know her as an innocent and kind, brave girl always trying to do her best, although her family specifically her brothers see her as a parasite just for being born. Or to be more specific, they see her as the murderer of their mother.

Before Layla's birth, the 4 siblings weren’t close, they never were, not even after Layla's birth, they only saw each other as strangers who lived under the same roof that shared the same blood, If they weren't brothers they would probably hate each other a lot.

They didn’t love being the king's children since he’s a very serious person who sometimes seems to have no feelings, but that was only their point of view because their mother the queen had a very different opinion of them, she saw him as a person who tried hard to make his children happy and tried to care about them but he just didn't know how to express it. If it weren't for their mother, maybe they would have revealed themselves to him… Their mother's death was the most devastating thing that happened to them… although before she died she asked them to take care of her sister… even though that was the promise they were never able to keep.

Humans and different creatures living in the same world where they live in peace. Oh wait, I'm wrong again- because by pure miracle a peace contract was made between humans and different creatures….although not all humans were in agreement with this… and this is where an old man, about 60 years old, comes in… he doesn’t agree with this and those creatures are monsters in his eyes… that's why he created a weapon that would eliminate them all… a girl who just follow orders…a puppet… whom he decided to call "Ilda".

He gave the order to Ilda to kill all possible creatures… the murders began to occur… the authorities tried to find the murderer but she never left any trace… they began to interrogate all the humans who didn’t agreed with the peace contract since it was not a pure coincidence that all the corpses they found were only those of creatures and never of humans. Ilda's creator began to worry that if they discovered him it was likely that they would kill him, so he made a somewhat unexpected decision… he changed his identity and moved to another city where he also joined a church with Ilda. so as not to raise suspicion… he told Ilda to speak kindly to people including the creatures but that she could NOT make any friends or that she could leave the church unless it was at night to kill more creatures, Ilda for obvious reasons Ilda, for obvious reasons, did what she was told, she played her role as a nun well, so much so that it got to the point that everyone loved her very much, this did not make the creator very happy… but he let it pass since the plan was not to get discovered so he stopped worrying about it… Until one day a boy arrived, this boy had been taken to the church by force since he was a problematic boy, so his soul had to be purified. And that's how he met Ilda, she seemed very pretty to him since that's also why they knew her for her beauty, the boy seemed interested in her and tried to approach her although she never managed to talk to him with a conversation as such. .. the weeks passed and this boy found it strange that she did the same thing every day or that she only did what her creator told her…

The hardest thing I am to deconstruct from my core is the anger turned into vengeance

That perfectly innocent kid that made dark art to express her burning sadness turned into a phoenix witch toeing the line of goodness and chaos. She had no capacity to be evil.

One day there will be ultimate chaos for every individual either after death or at the end of the world, how can I be more satisfied with my enemies demise unless it is at my own hands while I still have hands.

That intelligent young kid believed it would build to something if only they lacked of response to evil, but the lack of response feels evil.

There's no winning in healing, but losing a chance to finally defend myself...hurts. I'm enraged with my back against the wall flipping my stance back and forth, yes and no, love or hate, faith or reality, defend or back down, its worth it or its worthless to fight, compassionate words or passionate thoughts of pain.

I chose to let go of my ties to this worlds demands and desires. I am not taking the high road, I am simply a higher being sitting on my throne in spirit until it rings true from island to island. I am disciplined to that choice in who I am. Lucky all of you that my heart decided and not the ego of the phoenix witch.

This was answered in part here, but I shall focus on things Safrona hates as you wish!

Like most emotions, Safrona hesitates to let herself live in them for too long, but this is particular to hatred. A passionate hatred or disgust for her could be utilized to motivate the strength of her magic, or the ferocity by which her demons might attack, fed that energy like a miasma.

Still, it's dangerous for all involved, including herself. Much like a miasma, her chaotic blend of magics can spread out of her own control easily, deafened to anything else but the concentration of hatred the more intense the feeling grows. It is an eroded state that can be hard for Safrona to return from, ala a...Dark Phoenix sort of situation.

If there is anything Safrona hates most it is the feeling of losing control over herself, pushing her that much closer to having her will eroded by the Void. So when she feels a white hot hatred start to push her to an edge, she may lash out, briefly - followed by a quick turn to distance herself and find her center again.
