okay but LISTEN i think cyno would feel the exact same about pet names as he does about his jokes like cyhaino starts dating and his immediate thought is oh pet names would help make it less awkward and relax both of us so he tries it, calls alhaitham babe in front of both of their salads and it’s stiff and awkward and uncomfortable and they’re both just like “hm :|” because it’s SO obvious that didn’t work so alhaitham is like cool we tried it and that’s that but THEN cyno KEEPS doing it trying every pet name under the sun because he’s PERSISTENT and it NEVER works but alhaitham would find it kind of charming and very cyno-esque so of course he would grow to love it but also they’re emotionally scarring every one around them who has to listen to the most uncomfortable use of the word “sweetie” they have ever seen in their entire life

not negating anybody's experience i know black sails is outstanding regardless of how or when or how quickly you watch it. but also, as a gay person who watched it in real time, you really had to be there. they introduce anne bonny and you know your pirate history so you KNOW she's a girlliker. she has a moment with max but youre not sure where it's gonna go. because it's 2014. you wait over a year for 2x01 and she and max fucking obliterate you with the sword drop kiss scene. all anybody is talking about in the tags is vaneeleanor. a few weeks later 2.05 drops and flint is not only textually gay and kissing a man but he is waging war on england, on all of civilization for taking away his male lover. you find this out after investing fourteen hours on this show that have spanned over a year and a half in your real life. not to mention the miranda stuff and silver's arc and mr scott and madi and the death march that seasons 3 and 4 feel like when you have no inkling of how it's gonna end. but you stick with it regardless because it's good and besides it's 2014-2017 and the only genre show with gay people in it is fucking... the 100? lol anyway. more gay people flock to black sails between seasons and the tag becomes more about the gay shit than vaneeleanor, thank fucking god, finally. you all dread the last season. you brace yourselves for the worst. you thank the stars this show airs weekly because watching even just two episodes together is too overwhelming. 4.08 airs. you cry. 4.09 airs. you cry. 4.10 airs. your life will never be the same. you cry so hard you catch a fever and have to stay in bed all week to recuperate. you know this was a once in a lifetime experience never to be repeated again but you can't help but hold every other show to this impossible standard.

#black sails #i cherish this experience so much #i never rewatched. i had seen each episode exactly once shortly after it aired and never revisited it because it was so dense #and unique and overwhelming #i never rewatched‚ that is‚ until i showed it to my girlfriend #and not to be a wifeguy but it was such a special experience rivaled only by the winter she sat me down and showed me all of twin peaks #watching with someone you Love that Gets storytelling the exact same way you do comes with its own warmth and excitement #the only way to follow up my real time fucking odyssey with this show #i moved CONTINENTS between seasons.

i think a lot of the soulless clover revival fics that make them start to kill in the very first reset does not give clover (or flowey) nearly enough credit

#there's one fic I read that had a good justification for it but the rest..... hm #clover is not going to start killing people just because they can't feel emotions as strongly as they used to now #especially if this is post true pacifist clover we are talking about #it took flowey exhausting literally every other option just for him to even start to consider the thought of killing #and even then he didn't like the idea of it. the entire buildup to it he was saying I don't like this and trying to justify it to himself #for someone like clover who so strongly believes in the good of monsterkind I think it would take them at least as long as flowey to break #if not longer #and who's to say that they would even start killing in the first place #flowey started killing because everyone around him was predictable and did the exact same things every time to the point of boredom #but clover has flowey. friendly or not friendly flowey still remembers resets and wouldn't do the exact same thing every reset #flowey's very existence would prevent clover from reaching the same level of boredom that flowey did because there's always something new #at the end of the day clover and flowey are different people that will react to the same situation differently #to make it work you can't just retread flowey's experience. you have to consider how clover would react and change the situation accordingl #that's what I think anyways. cool concept but execution falls short more often than not imo.#my ramblings

How color theory

Good question ! When it comes to colour I believe the best way to find what works is to have fun and experiment until you find what works best for you!

I've already covered a bit about how I choose and create the colours here (making base colours colourful) and here (working with palettes)!

But in terms of what I know about actual colour theory, I can only offer this:

It's not a lot and it is just the basics so if you already knew this then apologies but it's all I know/ all I think is worth knowing. Please note that colour theory is more of a suggestion then a rule! Different colours look good to different people and you should do what looks good to you!

friends i love crocheting so much . why does it hurt me so

#did i marathon another doily? yes.#did that make my index finger not fit for crocheting for the next few days because the thread basically caused ropeburn lite? yes.#did i learn from this experience? no #will i avoid repeating this mistake in the future? also no. i did the same exact thing for the 4th time. this one was smaller tho #i like making doilies best because the patterns are so easy to follow and i get to learn many interesting stitches #bigger things like blankets and pillowcases are fun too but not engaging enough. they're good to make when watching a movie #but i usually don't have enough yarn on me to make something big #+ it's really difficult for me to pick colors for the patterns and solid color is just so boring and bland. when i was making that bag for #ori it took me longer to figure out the color scheme than to actually make it.#i fucking hate making plushies. made 2 of the same squid (fun and cute) but making any other plushie is agony #i had SO many attempts at the manta ray. grr wrr grr. i'm not even going to try making anything else until i forget why i hate making them #crochet #whispers

Just finished Annihilation and... I have never, ever felt so seen by a protagonist. Sometimes I like characters, but I treat them as a separate entity from myself. I have now had the deeply pleasurable experience of reading Lovecraft for Scientists and I want to bask in this awe forever.

sorry but saying that the accessibility needs of mentally disabled people are just preferences or about "comfort" is blatantly incorrect. if i can't enter a building because the bright lights and loud noises would send me into a meltdown, then i can't enter the building, and that's not less important than me not being able to enter a building because it's not wheelchair accessible. if you genuinely think that mentally disabled people aren't really struggling, and that it's okay to mock their very real concerns, then that just shows that you've been refusing to listen to their experiences. do better or shut the fuck up.
