Tommy calling Buck, wanting to apologise for how everything went down. And to tell him that he wants to see him again because he knows he fucked up and Buck deserves the whole truth and not the mean-spirited things that came out of Tommy's mouth in the heat of the moment. It goes to voicemail.

He looks at his phone, sorrowfully.

Camera zooms in on the phone then zooms out.

Phone is now on the floor in the middle of debris showing "1 missed call from Tommy 💔". Slowly pans over to show Buck's hand laying beside it, just out of reach.

Pans out, Buck's jeep in the middle of the freeway totaled. Only Buck's arm can be seen from underneath it.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

...136 (but to be fair that includes all of my one shot requests and microfics)

2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 597,089. I wanted to reach 750k by the end of the year, but I just don't think that's gonna happen and that is OKAY!

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Stranger Things only. I know in my heart I probably could go back and write some Stucky things, but with what time?

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Yes! Sometimes I only have the spoons for emojis, but I do always respond. I want people to know I see their comments and appreciate them 💖

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Any of the works in the my heart has changed, my soul has changed series. I definitely want to continue that series, but life is angsty enough right now.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

ALL OF THEM. Truly can't write things that don't end happy or at least very very hopeful.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Uh nope. I have moderated comments turned on though, so I think that deters any hateful comments, and I have literally only ever gotten one negative comment on a headcanon post on tumblr and just blocked them. Here for a good time, not to please everyone.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yeah. I laugh because I started writing in January and was like "I can't write smut" and then by March I had a fic started that was rated E for extra sex. Incredible what a little time on this website does to the brain. It's just whatever fits the moment.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Hard no.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of. I'm pretty open about encouraging people to write their own versions of my stuff, but if I ever see a direct copy and paste it's on sight.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Not that I'm aware of? I really don't think any of them except for maybe call me sunshine would even be considered popular enough for that lmao

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No, it makes me nervous. I always think everyone who I speak to on the regular is worlds more talented than I am and that I would be the deadweight in the group project (despite always being the leader of every school and work group project I've ever done). I wouldn't necessarily say no in the future with the right person!

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

Steddie, though Stucky was it for me from like 2012-2022 and I do still love them so much.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I really only work on one thing at a time, but I still want to write a part 2 to two request ficlets. They deserve the story being continued, but I don't know for sure when that will happen.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Strengths? What are those? I can lift my body weight, does that count? Okay, ummmm, writing strengths I guess would be finding ways to write these two idiots so in love in any situation. I will always always find a way to make them be in love.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I'll be kind to myself and narrow it down to two things: Environment descriptions. I can see it in my mind, but can I put it into words? No. Somehow still getting so carried away?! Genuinely don't know how I manage to not describe a lot of things and still describe too much.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

It's very difficult since I don't actually know any other language. I really don't do it unless it is absolutely necessary and I usually warn that I use Google Translate (which is not accurate).

19. First fandom you wrote for?

The first I published for was Stranger Things. The first I wrote stupid little things that I immediately deleted was Captain America/Marvel.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

I have to say I am so so proud of call me sunshine, send me to space. Not just because it's what's been most popular, but because I went so far outside my comfort zone to write and post it. It was the first time I felt like I had truly developed a universe for these characters and it's just a nice story.

🌟 As your relationship has progressed, Damian has lost the need for relying on various excuses to spend time with/be near you.

At the start of things this poor baby was awkward af. The persona that he shrouded himself in mixed with his natural introversion and mildly stunted social skills meant that he wasn’t exactly sure how to move past all that to be close to you.

((this was all you-specific, btw; he could finesse everyone but you because he wanted your connection to be real, not something cultivated by petty manipulations for the purposes of keeping up appearances))

Because of this he relied pretty heavily on planned dates as a way to spend time with you without looking too… desperate? I guess?? Idk, he used to be so damn weird about this stuff, but dammit he was trying.

Movie nights quickly because his go to as they’re prime cuddle inducers.

((he has definitely pulled the yawn ‘n’ stretch move on you—several times, in fact—much to your silent amusement lmao))

Poor thing was so stiff and stilted in his movements back then, and he was always so careful about how he touched you. He never wanted to do anything that could be seen as disrespectful/could potentially make you uncomfortable.

When he finally loosened up enough to let you properly cuddle him his heart was p o u n d i n g . You could definitely feel it and low-key hear it from where your head rested against his chest, but you were smart enough to keep quiet about it, and honestly your reticence made him fall just that little bit harder.

🌟 In the now he’s over the worst of his hang-ups, but his love of movie nights persist.

Like Dick he makes sure that you have everything you’ll want/need to enjoy this rare night in.

Tho he’s usually an advocate for healthy eating and moderation, this is one of the few times he’ll pig out with you. He doesn’t process sugar well—which is just a kind way of saying that if he doesn’t work it off, it turns him into a hyperactive five year old lol—so he mostly sticks to salty snacks like chips and popcorn.

Also—blankets.

He’ll get the softest, coziest blanket he can find to burrito you both in and it is undoubtedly a ✨ ~heavenly experience~ ✨

🌟 He has no problems with staying awake for the duration.

I personally canon Damian as being one of those people that only sleeps like 4 hours a night—and not in the insomniac way, but rather the ‘my body doesn’t require more than this’ way—so he’s almost always well rested.

However if you happen to doze off he’s not opposed to taking a little nap with you. He’ll probably carry you back to your bedroom for this tho, as he hardly finds the couch to be comfortable enough to sleep on.

((because you just know that he gets bulky once he hits his 20s—dude’s a Wayne, after all, and he definitely inherits his father’s build))

🌟 Doesn’t really talk too much during the movie as he finds that to be rude, but he’s not above scoffing and the like if he thinks the plot to be too ridiculous.

As he’s gotten older, he’s become a bit more lenient when it comes to such things, but there’s only so much silliness he can abide by before he snaps lol.

Horror and thrillers especially set his teeth on edge because how can people be so stupid?? But then again his vigilante work has shown him that humans are indeed capable of said levels of stupidity so…

🌟 As for the lineup…

It’s already been pretty well established at this point that I canon Dames as a movie snob, so if you come at him talking about some Die Hard or Nightmare be ready for a long ass lecture about why these movies are most assuredly NOT Christmas movies lmao.

He personally tends to skew more towards classics like It’s a Wonderful Life or one of the many black and white Scrooge remakes.

He also loves animated films as well, esp. the older ones like the original Grinch (tho he does really like the live action version as well) and all of those Claymation joints. He really appreciates the level of skill that went into making those films, and honestly wishes that the medium was still more widely utilized today.

If you want to watch one of those cheesy Made for TV movies he won’t complain. They’re terrible, sure, but so a part of the experience that to not watch at least one would feel wrong at this point lol.

I caught up on @fellshish’s amazing substack fic Dean Daily (now on ao3!) since it finally ended (I’m only crying a little, I swear!) The Jun 28th entry wormed its way into my brain (they got matching tattoos! and Cas was healing them!!!) and I just had to do fanart! 

I might write a little ficlet, but the headcanon for this image is that they’re watching a gay movie together (y’know, so Dean can see if Cas made his confession in a gay way or if he’s just uhhhhh a real good friend), and Dean can’t tell if the glow of grace is from the TV or from Cas <3 Obviously he’s going to be completely normal about it :)

i can't remember if it was one of your posts or someone else's where the losers all grew their foreskins back and running to the bathroom to check but it's been living rent free in my head and all i can think of is them all whipping it out being like wtf and then someone (eddie) looks over and is like "holy fuck rich why is your dick so massive literally who gave you the right" and then eddie has a little internal crisis of 'if i wasn't gay b4 i am now'

YEAAAH LMAO THAT WAS ME thank you and also sorry it’s stuck in your head, it’s such a dumb idea but it still makes me laugh.

If the Derry Magic™ canonically reverses Richie’s vasectomy and heals their scars etc. I think it’d be a cool concept if it started to heal... well, everything, once they’re back inside city limits. I’m actually writing a weird ficlet about that idea that’s currently sitting half-baked in my drafts, but back to Foreskins 2: 2Old 4Skin

All the Losers with dicks (aside from Mike since he never left Derry) start shifting in their seats at the Jade and looking down at their laps, alarmed. Given the time period and the fact that it’s... the USA, I’m guessing most of them would be circumcised, so I can only imagine how unusual it would be to feel yourself regrowing a turtleneck. 

But Joe, I hear you cry, if they were circumcised as newborns why is it only growing back now instead of in the <18 years they were in Derry the first place? And if they’re all circumcised why are Bill/Richie/Eddie all so amused at the prospect of Stanley having “the tip of his dick” chopped off at the start of It (2017)?

What do I look like, someone who’s gonna let conflicting meta get in the way of my own conflicting foreskin headcanons? Get outta here!

Anyway, eventually it all gets too weird. Ben can feel a faint pinching that he, quite honestly, hates. They blurt some excuse to Beverly and make a mad dash for the bathroom, trying not to clutch the fronts of their pants like Richie made one joke too funny and there was a collective accident. A Titanic situation. Richie’s trying to think of a joke about this on the move but to be honest his dick feels like it’s growing or something, and ironically he can’t think of a goddamn thing to say.

They’re all waddling. Mike sighs and stands to follow them. “I thought this might happen.”

“Are you guys gonna have some No Girls Allowed meeting without me? Rich and Eddie were already doing enough dick measuring out here, this is bullshit,” Bev says, but Mike is gone. She drinks his beer as revenge.

Any and all dick measuring is happening purely on a visual level, amongst all the panicking and whisper-yelling (whisper-screaming) and vaguely horrified examination going on in the bathroom. Eddie’s had a little too much to drink to stop himself from whisper-hissing his outrage at the size of Richie’s big fucking dick (at least, he thinks later, his stunned disbelief covered his outrage at the fact that Richie wouldn’t even look at Eddie’s dick back, not even to make light of the size difference, the disappointment surrounding it something he’s not yet willing to face.)

When things fail to calm down and they’ve driven 3 other restaurant patrons right out of the bathroom and Mike has been whisper-shouted at four separate times and bullied into showing his own dick, Bill finally puts on his Big Bill Leader Hat and tries to see reason. It’s with a strange sinking feeling that he realises Mike was simply waiting for him to do so, from the pleased smile on his tired face. 

Bill’s not sure he’s looking forward to any situation that might mean he has to lead these strangers again. They’re not kids anymore. Look at their dicks! It’s a lot more arresting than shaking a finger, Bill will admit. “Just great, Billy - ignoring the completely insane fact that all four of us just spontaneously grew ourselves some fancy little dicksleeves outta nowhere like - Jesus Christ, what is this, the Chinese place from Freaky Friday? “I don’t think anyone has a dick like that,” Eddie mumbles.

“I didn’t see that movie,” Bill says.

“That’s not the point,” Richie says. His dick waves in his fist like a sign language interpreter at the bottom of the screen helping Richie to deliver his tirade. The mirror spans the wall over the sinks, so even when Bill tries to avert his eyes he still fears having them poked out. He stares up at the water-stained ceiling tiles instead. “The point is, you want us all to be cool as cucumbers with little fucking scarves about this totally fucked up, creepy, Cronenberg bullshit because your wife fucked a British dude one time and told you to your face that it was better?!”

Bill frowns, raising his hands. “Well. I d-don’t think that’s w-w-what-”

“Do I seem,” Richie continues, looking extremely frazzled, “like someone confident enough in his sex life that re-learning the ropes at 40 fucking years old is gonna be a piece of cake?! Jesus Christ! I don’t know what to do with this thing!” Another man pushes open the bathroom door, takes one look at them, and walks straight back out. Richie curses under his breath and zips up too, Eddie following his lead, until Bill is the only one standing there with his dick out. 

Something about the situation feels vaguely familiar, Bill thinks, with a phantom ache in his cheekbone. 

Richie flails with the pockets of his jacket. “Zero times foreskin is still zero, Bill!”

With that and without washing his hands, Richie stomps out of the bathroom, head ducked, the back of his neck bright pink. Eddie hastily finishes washing his own hands and scurries after him, seething again. “I knew it! I fucking knew it!”

1. favorite fic you wrote this year

I’ll put links to my top three right now, but tbh I like pretty much everything I’ve posted. Most of them have either been me working through something, trying something new, or completely self-indulgent, so the “favorite fic” refers more to my experience writing them.

slippin’ through the cracks - I loved writing it and exploring/working through some of that good ol’ endg*me trauma. Understandably, it’s one of my least read fics, but I’m a sucker for angst and this one was me getting an angsty prompt and using it to write out a scene I’ve had in my head since I watched the movie a year and a half ago. (And now I will move on and never write endg*me compliant fic ever again. This was a therapeutic process)

hiraeth - This one is also, understandably, one of my least-read fics lol. Probably because it’s not really a fic. It’s a sort of mishmash of poetry and prose and narrative and flashbacks and I needed recovering bucky/winter soldier/remembering the 40s angst so I wrote it. Over time, it’s turned into one of my favorite pieces.

can you feel my heart beating - this was the first non-headcanon smut I posted and I really like how it turned out. Evanstan fluff/smut, getting together, only one bed camping fic. Extremely self indulgent but not as self indulgent as the one I’m working on rn lmao

God I have no clue. On ao3, 29,169. But I have probably at least 30k of WIPs that I haven’t posted yet, and that’s not even including the little ficlets only posted on tumblr....

If I had to guess, I’d say....... I’ve maybe written 80k or 90k since I started in July?

Ace KO’s the Spirit with pallet: headcanon/ficlet/crack?

Let’s say Ace is facing a Spirit on Autohaven. The rest of the team consists of Laurie, Nancy and Steve

Ace is being chased, already injured from a bullshit hit through a window

He reaches a pallet between some rubble and starts looping it. The Spirit stops in her tracks a ways from the pallet and does her braindead no counter mindgame where there’s no way to tell if she’s phasing or standing still

Ace steels himself and makes a lucky guess. He drops the pallet while standing on the killer’s side

“WAAAAHHH!!” the killer wails from the impact and falls over, having been stunned out or her phasewalk

“Better luck next time, bitch!” Ace exclaims, high off the adrenaline and barely resisting the urge to teabag

The heartbeat abruptly cuts off and the killer is nowhere to be seen. Ace looks around, skeptical. Did she leave? Is she doing another mindgame?

Finally he spots the Spirit, laying motionless below the pallet, her messy hair and dismembered limbs sprawled out on the ground

“Uhh... ghost girl? Hello?” Ace hesitantly calls out over the pallet. There’s no answer and the killer still isn’t moving

Ace nervously glances around, waiting for the entity to intervene and end the trial prematurely

“Entity? Mr. Spidergod?” His calls are met with silence. “... Ms. Spidergod?” Ace tries

The silence continues. A generator goes off in the distance. Seems like the entity has decided not to intervene. Ace grins like an idiot

“Tell me someone saw that!?!?” Ace exclaims, excited about this lucky turn of events

“Bro. BRO.” Steve exits a nearby locker, eyes as wide as saucers and smiling giddily. “You KO’d her! You think she’s dead!?”

“She’s a GHOST. What’re you gonna do, check for a pulse??” Ace points out

“What happened? Did she lose you?” Nancy cautiously approaches them from a nearby t-wall. Steve points at the unconscious Spirit

“Oh. Wow. What should we do?” Nancy asks, nervously rubbing her arms

“I mean. We could dump her in a locker and block the door.” Steve suggests

“What?? NO!” Nancy exclaims. “She could wake up! It could be a trick! Let’s just get Ace patched up, do the gens and get out ASAP!”

“Aww Nance why do you always gotta be so reasonable??” Steve whines

After healing him, Steve and Nancy go find a generator, but Ace isn’t about to let his good fortune go to waste. Three people is more than enough to handle the gens, especially as they’re not in any type of hurry

Ace makes it his mission to hoard the items from every chest in the trial. He takes his time doing so, leisurely strolling about the wrecked cars and abandoned machinery, whistling carelessly as he goes

It’s kind of nice just walking around in Autohaven without the threat of, y’know, murder. Ace doesn’t really get scared in the trials anymore, but having a bloodthirsty killer in the same space as you never fails to make one on edge. He doesn’t know what stroke of luck allowed this to happen, but it’s a golden opportunity for sure

Ace takes the loot to an exit gate, so the others can take their pick once they leave. And because maybe he’s a bit of a hoarder and likes seeing all the shiny new items in a big pile, ok?

While Ace explores the map, he notices a couple of destroyed dull totems, suggesting Nancy hasn’t been quite as committed to the gens as she claimed. It makes him smile; it would do that girl wonders to let loose more often

As Ace is in an excavator looting the final chest, he hears a familiar bellow of a tolling bell, signalling the opening of an exit gate

When Ace reaches the exit, he sees Steve t-bagging in the gate and clicking his new purple flashlight up into the sky. Nancy is gone and so is the pink map from the item pile

Laurie appears, noticing a distinct lack of murderous killer chasing them out. She stares at Steve goofing off. At the pile of items on the ground. And finally at Ace

“What did you do.” she deadpans. It’s not even a question

“Nothing!” he exclaims. Laurie scoffs. “Okay, so I pallet stunned the Spirit, right? And she--well, she just didn’t get up after”

Laurie stares, unimpressed. But then her eyes go wide and she flings herself at Ace

“TEACH ME HOW!!!” she demands, excitedly pulling on his sleeve and practically frothing at the mouth

“GEEZ! Even I don’t know how I managed--” Ace starts and tries to pull her off in vain

“Is it a new perk? Did it kill her??” Laurie demands answers, radiating a psychotic energy that is exclusively reserved for dealing with her brother

1. What fandoms do you write for?

OPM and AtLA. I have a Miraculous Ladybug fic, but the creator is a nightmare and I hate the way the show treats the main character (literally the creator said part of the show’s episode formula is the main character “learns a lesson” every episode: usually through humiliation) and all the characters of color so I really don’t write for it anymore.

2. What pairings do you write for?

Batarou, Mumensai, and I do general fics.

3. What is your most popular fanfic?

My Miraculous Ladybug fic. By like. a lot akfdjhlgkjhfdlkg

It’s got triple the subscriptions and bookmarks, double the hits, and more kudos than any of my other fics. And I haven’t updated since January.

4. Do you write original stories as well?

I do! I’m a creative writing major, so I do a lot of memoir nonfiction and poetry, but I also write fictional short stories.

5. What fanfic of yours should everyone have read?

I don’t think there is one! Different strokes and all. But if you weren’t aware, I’m working on an ATLA fic rn about Zuko trying to repair his relationship with Azula. Not for this fandom, but a fun fic for me because it’s a bit out of my wheelhouse.

There are...a lot. For the sake of my mental well being, I will not list them. But I will say any ship between a teen and someone in their mid twenties or beyond is a no go for me.

Begrudgingly, Ao3. I have my issues with Ao3 and I think I’ve made those pretty clear (and they’ve gotten me into some hot water lmao) but it’s a good place to put fics.

10. How do you stay motivated to finish what you’ve started?

I could not tell you. I am so bad at staying motivated. Certain fics I love writing. Others feel like I’m pulling teeth.

11. What’s your longest fanfic?

Hidden Horns. By a lot. like 20k words a lot.

12. Do you want to break your readers‘ heart or make them laugh?

A bit of both, but I lean towards laughing. The world needs more light.

13. What is your planning process?

Depends on the fic. For short ones or oneshots, there really isn’t one. For longer fics, I’ll have an outline, but a lot of times I’m laying tracks as I go. If I think of a good scene or line, I’ll write it down and just keep it at the end of my doc until it comes up in the story.

15. OCs or no OCs?

OC’s only when they’re necessary for plot. For example, Madame Oshitani in Hidden Horns only really showed up because I needed a piano teacher, and I couldn’t have it be an existing hero. Outside of that, I tend to avoid putting OC’s in fics, because I find them disruptive when I’m reading fics.

They’re difficult in different ways, but original is way harder.

Original work means there’s zero scaffolding to build off of except for the scaffolding you make yourself, and there’s a lot of issues with worldbuilding and creating complex and relatable characters.

Fanfic relies on a solid understanding of existing characters and dynamics, as well as the internal logic of the world. The scaffolding is there, but often times it’s stifling.

Nope. I probably should though.

32. Past or present tense?

Past. I can’t consistently write in present.

What was the first fandom and/or pairing that you wrote fic for? Uh, probably Danny Phantom when I was like twelve 😂

Do you participate in any writing events or challenges throughout the year? If so, what do you like about them? Nope bc this is a small fandom and we don’t do many of those.

Do you write fics from start or finish, or jump around? I usually start at the start and then when I get stuck I’ll just skip that part, keep going, and come back to it later.  If I have an idea and I’m afraid I’ll forget it, I might also skip ahead and write it.

Do you outline before you start writing? If so, how far do you stray from that outline? I love outlining more that actually writing lmao, the longer the fic the more I outline.  I usually stick to it pretty closely, which isn’t aways good for my writing...

What is the perfect environment for you to write in? Quiet and private.  Other than that I haven’t figured out the tricks to getting myself to focus :(

If you’re really concentrating, how many words can you write in a day? Occasionally when I’m really inspired I’ll write like 1000, but more often I just write a paragraph or two.

Which part of writing do you struggle with most? Too many ideas, too little actual writing capacity.  It’s hard to focus on finishing fics bc I get too distracted by my other ideas, and I rarely write sequels bc there’s so much I haven’t gotten to share yet.

Do you listen to music while you write? If so, share a song that’s been inspiring you lately. Nope, can’t write with music, I get too distracted.  

Do you prefer to write AUs, canon divergence, or canon-compliant fic? AUs!!!

Do you enjoy writing dialogue, exposition, or plot the most? Probably dialogue? Exposition is great bc I get to explain the AU, but It’s not good for the flow of the fic.  Dialogue can be really satisfying to write when you get in a groove with it.

If you could only write angst, fluff, or smut for the rest of your life, which would it be? Fluff!

Is there a trope you haven’t written yet but really want to? Oh god so many.  I have notes on tons of tropes I’d like to write... I’d like to do a college AU (and I meant to do it while I was actually in college but oops).  I posted a soulmate AU once but I’d like to do another.  Oh and I have lots of ideas for crossover AUs and I’m still deciding how to handle those.

Is there a trope you wouldn’t write if it was the last trope on earth? Honestly probably not.  I’m not huge on character death, genderbends, or reader inserts, for example, but I have ideas for fics involving all of those. 

If you were stuck on a desert island with only two characters, which would you pick? No one from gnr that’s for sure, that’d be a disaster.  How about... Percy Jackson and idk Wonder Woman?

A Hollywood producer tells you that they want to film just one of your fics. Which fic would you want it to be? Hmm out of the fics that I’ve posted... maybe Sumthin’ for Nuthin’ actually? I abandoned that poor fic but I still really like the plot.  And there’s plenty of longer, more plot-heavy fics I have outlined that would be cool to see as films.  In general I often imagine concepts visually instead of with words.

What is your most underrated fic? Saving Grace didn’t get a lot of notes and I get why – it’s kinda niche and there’s no actual romance.  But I think it’s well-written and I’m proud of it.

What fic are you most proud of? Maybe the whole cat!slash universe?  I don’t think it’s my best writing per se, but I’m still really attached to the concept and it was a pleasant surprise that other people seemed to like it too.

What is a line/scene you’re really proud of? Give us the DVD commentary for that scene. I’ve always been partial to the paragraph in Sweetness that ends with “Their coffee has long gone cold (and so has Duff’s spine - snakes give him the heebie-jeebies), but Slash’s enthusiasm is sweeter than the Duff’s half-eaten bowl of melted ice cream, and Duff is eating it up with a spoon.”  Just... the coffee is cold and so is Duff’s spine, Slash is sweet and so is the ice cream, and using “eating it up with a spoon” idiomatically while it’s also thematically relevant to a sentence about dessert... I really like to layer meaning when I can.

Who is the easiest/hardest character for you to write about? Why? Slash tends to be the center in most of my writing, but actually I think it’s easier to write from Duff’s pov.  Maybe bc when I’m writing sluff I can just channel my crush on Slash through Duff lmao.  Interesting tho bc when it comes to the real people, I find Slash much more relatable than Duff or the others.

What’s your favorite minor character you’ve written? Hah maybe Slash in the funeral home AU, it’s a duzzy ficlet so he’s just a side character but I got a kick out of writing his and Steven’s background antics.

What is the one fic that got away? Well, I really wish I’d finished Sumthin’ for Nuthin’ before I kinda lost interest in Motley Crue, that fic was gonna get more dramatic from there.  Would it be worth it to just post the outline?  Plus there’s a few potential longfic ideas that I’ve put a lot of love into, but I doubt they’ll ever be posted or completed considering the way I can’t seem to focus on one idea long enough to write more than a one-shot :( But hey I guess you never know.

Have you cried while writing a fic? Nope.  I do have some angsty ideas though, hopefully they’ll surface someday.

If you had to remix one of your own fics, which would it be and how would you remix it? Someday I’d like to rewrite the cat!Slash fic from the beginning, make it a real multichap or at least a proper series of vignettes.  Id also be interesting in a darker version of that AU, since there’s definitely potential for that in the concept.  But I’m pretty attached to the fluffy little universe I made, so I’d probably prefer to explore those darker themes in a different (but maybe similar) universe – I have a few ideas.

How did you come up with title for [x fic]? Most of my fics have self-explanatory titles or none at all, the only one I have much to say about is Saving Grace.  Duff needed a miracle to get out of his situation, Slash was his saving grace.  But also, Grace is the name of Duff’s oldest daughter, and Duff’s motive in the story is trying to “save” her.  Despite the double meaning in the title, I avoided referring to the child by name or as Duff’s “daughter”/explaining how they ended up together.  I wanted to maintain some of the mystery of the apocalyptic genre: characters with mysterious origins, found families, aliases, etc.  That’s definitely one of the ways that Mad Max and DOOM influenced this fic.  (Oh, also Serpentine is a dick joke via a wttj reference: “My serpentine.”  That’s it tho, the rest are pretty straightforward.)

Which idea came to you first in [x fic]? Feel free to send a fic for any/all of the next few questions! Generally speaking, my ideas are character driven, I want to portray a character or relationship a certain way and I build a world that allows me to do that.

Tell us an idea for a longfic you want to write in the future. Ok, so I have three main longfic ideas, but the easiest one to explain is an AU set in a version of the 1980s where ancient greek deities exist, Axl’s life is parallel to that of Perseus, and Slash is cursed like Medusa.   Lots of drama, lots of influence from greek theater, untrustworthy gods, unrequited feelings, dramatic irony... fuck I hope I write it someday.

Likes: Hair. This boy’s hair is so fucking gorgeous like wut??? I love his personality, how protective he is of his guildmates

Dislikes: How sadistic he is during his Oracion Seis tenure. I feel like he was made out to be a generic sycophantic Brain follower? ...aaaand that’s pretty much it. 

Ships: FUCKING JERIK YOOOOO I swear these two kill me!! Also Gazebra (Gajeel x Cobra, a mockery of the spelling Gazille lmao), Cobratsu, MacErik (love this), GrayErik and Jellal/Natsu/Gray/Erik (Jelratserik, or Grellatserik, I like the second one better because there’s no ‘rat’ in between lol)

nOTPs: Cobra/Kinana. I don’t really like the ship, IDK why. I just... don’t ship it? Lol. And also Cobra/Racer, for the same reasons xD (I also saw Cobra x Brain smut once and I was... disturbed, to say the least). Erik/Ultear is also a no-no for me; I just ship both with other people!

Headcanons: Erik is Norwegian-Indian. He’s a pan demiboy who loves his beautiful trans iron boyfriend :D He also likes knitting in his spare time (read as the reason why Jellal is always covered in scarves and mittens). Also, he is a memelord. He and Gray are the meme kings of the OT4 of Grellatserik! And he tends to bite (gently) if he doesn’t get his way. Pouty, petulant drama queen? Yep, the award goes to Erik. (Sting came in a close second though) Erik has the voice of a nightingale, and loves old romantic songs. He also looks amazingly gorgeous in Ultear’s dresses, and Jellal thinks his jaw might never close again.

Ultear

Hoo boy! And here we come to my most favourite girl of Fairy Tail! The one and only, the beautiful, amazing, strong, powerful woman who makes me fucking cry because of her loveliness, Ultear Milkovich!

Likes: Everything, I’m so gay for her I love her strength and confidence! She’s absolutely beautiful, and her magic is so awesome! I love that she is inventive with it. Her character development is possibly the most consistent of the series, especially by Mashima standards (Eiichiro Oda probably would’ve made her something amazing, but let’s not go there, it’s gonna make us all sad). Also, I can’t think of anything else because my heart just melts and goes ‘uwuwuwuwuwuwuwuwuwuwu’ when I see her.

Dislikes: Her sacrifice for Gray. Look, ok, I love icy siblings but did it really have to be Ultear who became an old lady? I just... wish she hadn’t conveniently been thrown out of the way. I guess I just dislike Mashima’s mistreatment of her after setting her up as such a beautiful character!

Ships: LyoRayTear. I swear, they’d be such a beautiful poly ship, loving each other to bits, sharing the pain they all felt and eventually learning to accept themselves! GrayTear was my very first FT ship, and it’ll always be special to me. And Jeltear because of the angst potential! Moving on to Power Lesbian Ships: Kagultear! They’d be so perfect together :3 Also LuTear, Ulterza (two warrior queens? more likely than you’d think), MiraTear, MinTear and LuErTear! 

nOTPs: Pretty much none, really. I haven’t come across any Ultear ships that make me wanna gag :D probably Erik/Ultear, I just don’t ship it :)

Headcanons: She’s Chinese-Turkish. She’s also an atheist. She has always secretly wanted to learn how to use a sword because they seemed so cool to her. *insert Ultear/Erza or Ultear/Kagura ficlet here* Ultear loves movies, and you can often find her holed up at Lyon’s apartment with Gray, all three cuddling and watching some old action/rom-com/drama flick. Ultear can’t sing, but she loves listening to music, especially rock. She’s an excellent guitarist, though, and often plays for Crime Sorciere. She loves dressing Erik up in her clothes, and the two go shopping quite often (Jellal despairs for the guild’s finances). Ultear doesn’t wear makeup to make herself feel beautiful - she wears it because that meticulous task sets her thoughts in order for the day and clears her head, and also, she just likes it a lot, particularly eyeliner :3

Dick is a man that absolutely thrives on time spent with his baby. Unfortunately being a detective as well as a vigilante’s a real time suck, so he doesn’t get to spend nearly as much time with you as either of you would like.

This makes all the time that does get to spend with you purposeful, which imo makes it even more special.

But this is all only tangentially related, so back to the HC at hand.

Totally goes all out—I’m talking a plethora of snacks, blankets, pillows, and fairy lights all tucked away in one of the most elaborate pillow forts you’ve ever seen in your life.

Will insist that you get in your comfiest clothes. Said clothes may or may not be matching onesies that he’s bought specifically for just such an occasion lol.

Despite all the room in the fort he’ll p. much keep you in his lap for the duration if you’ll let him. He’s a cute, clingy thing, but we been knew.

((the only real problem with this positioning is the fact that you’re gonna have to deal with him smacking in your ear/getting crumbs in your hair/etc. so have fun with that lmao))

When he’s not turning your head into an impromptu bib, he’s laid out over you. Doesn’t matter what your stature is in comparison to his—he’s gonna flop the whole of his bulk on to you like a giant man-cat.

By his estimation it’s a win either way it goes. If you’re smaller than him then he gets to cuddle-smoosh you (ofc he’s always careful to keep from actually hurting you/making you uncomfortable) and if you’re the same size or bigger he gets to be the cuddle-smooshee lol.

More like multiple times, actually.

Look—honey’s a cop as well as a Bat, can you really blame him?

His hype’ll see him staying up for like the first half an hour, but eventually all the rest that he’s been missing out on will demand its due. Doesn’t help that he’s stuffed himself full of sugary junk, so if his exhaustion doesn’t get him the sugar crash will.

He will totally try to play it off like he wasn’t sleeping. He’ll wake up just long enough to say something random that you guess is supposed to pertain to the movie, but doesn’t really make much sense before knocking out again.

He’ll only admit to falling asleep if you refuse to rewatch the movie with him—the movie that he only wants to rewatch because it was just that good, honest! Lots of “But looove, I was asleep! It doesn’t count!” and pouting and the like until you break lol.

🌟 When he’s not dozing, he’s another one that likes to chatter while he watches.

And it won’t just be about the movie either. His brain has a tendency to bounce around a lot during his downtime, so expect lots of tangents—but don’t worry, it’s something you’ll get use to fairly quickly, if you’re dating him.

Also a big fan of drinking games; this can be a boozy experience if you so choose, but he’s also cool with using non-alcoholic beverages or really any alternative that you can come up with.

He always picks a set of rules that he knows will get a lot of penalties out of both of you because anything less wouldn’t be fun.

((i.e. take a sip every time the business minded leading lady is mean to the small town hunk/chug the glass for every on the nose town name/etc.))

🌟 He already owns pretty much every holiday related movie known to man.

He’s not usually one for things like itineraries as he finds more enjoyment in letting things unfold as they may, but this is one of the few instances he’ll bend on that.

Because he does have so many movies to choose from, never mind the fact that like a dozen-plus Made for TV joints come out every year, he’ll sit down with you days in advance so that you can plot out what you want to watch.

He’s not at all picky about the lineup; so long as A Charlie Brown Christmas is somewhere in the mix he’s good.

🌟 So yeah, movie nights with Dick are always a good time (to the surprise of literally no one lol) so just kick back and enjoy having you man all to yourself for the whole of the day.

I really loved the fusion posts and I've been thinking about the AU a lot I lowkey (highkey) want to draw some fan art whenever you get around to telling us about the designs a bit! You're super talented keep up the awesome work!!

Hello! It took a while to get back to this bc I hadn’t quiteworked out the gems for everyone. I have now, though! Because you reminded meto, lmao. also if anyone wants to get technical about the meanings or whateverof the gems I picked please don’t, I’m a lowly fic writer and did minimalresearch and don’t care to get super deep about things, thanks.

Alright, so I wrote that one ficlet a while back about Donnieand April, and they were the only two I had for sure down with what gems theywere. (I’ll recap them tho, in case folks missed it.)

Donnie = Purple Pearl.(because of reasons.) Gem placement is his forehead.

April = Yellow(or was it gold?) Tourmaline. Gem placement is her hip.

Raph = Pyrope.Gem placement is the back of his right hand.

Leo = Blue Iolite.Gem placement is between his shoulder blades.

Mikey = Jasper.(like, similar to canon Jasper, but smol like Amethyst ended up.) Gem placementis his chest, also like Amethyst.

Casey =(tentatively, may change if I feel like it) Onyx. Gem placement is his leftpalm.

Splinter = Fireagate. Gem placement is the same as Mikey’s.

They essentially move from planet to planet once the whole crew is together and have interstellar travel once again, staying outside the range of the crumbling empire’s reach, but mostly hang out on one specific planet that’s got very little sentient life on it. Very relaxing for a collection of people who really need to calm down sometimes. except Casey who is raring to go any time all the time and needs to be stopped

And here’s some descriptions and stuff, because hell yes I’d love fanart pls and thank you:

Donnie: He is thelankiest fuckin Pearl you will ever meet, tall as hell and kind of maybeashamed of that. Like, garnet type tall or something. Red eyes, which stand outweirdly against his color scheme. He’s this pastel purple nightmare, and has along gauzy see-through skirt type deal with shorts underneath; you know, pearltype chic. Long hair, usually in a braid that goes to his midback. Coloring….Uh, probably pale purple for the shorts and shirt, lavender purple for theskirt, and dark purple for his shoes. They are ballet shoes. He will break yournose with said shoes if you antagonize him.

April: On theshort side, not overly big but pretty thick regardless. She was designed for war after all, not forcourt regality. Standard pants plus sleeveless shirt dealio. Something close toJasper’s in SU canon, but more yellow/orange color scheme. Her hair is likeTMNT canon, and her eyes are blue. (which has ~significance~ for reasons.)

Raph: short,stocky, power house build. Taller than Mikey by a small margin. Light reds anddark reds are his color scheme, with black boots. Hair is short and dark andspiky on top, p close to being a mohawk. Green eyes, bc it’s my AU I can dowhat I want. (his reason for being ‘wrong’ or whatever shall be revealedlater.)

Leo: a slimmerbuild than Raph, more appealing to the upper castes to look at and be around. (It’sall about appearances with court gems)He’s designed for both combat andaesthetic, would’ve been a high class guard, maybe even captain of said guard.(except the whole desolation of the empire happened and that didn’t work out) Darkblue and darker blue for his hair and skin, and purpley toned light blue forhis clothing; plus black shoes.  Navy blueeyes obvs speaking, and I imagine his hair to be very short. Close croppeddealio. (similarly to Raph, his reason for ‘wrongness’ will be revealed later)

Mikey: evenshorter than Raph, and the same type of power house build. Basically has thesame color scheme and Jasper in SU canon, though his hair is less flowy andmore curly. Kind of coily? If that makes sense. Blue eyes obvs, but other thanthat he resembles canon Jasper/Amethyst strongly. (y’all can probably guess hisbackstory already)

Splinter: tol. Holyfuck so tol. He was a general of sorts in the empire, and a very high rankingone at that. Body type is like his canon ratdad self, and his robe dealtranslates into this AU too. Honestly he just looks a lot like Hamato Yoshi didas a human. Same sort of dark red color scheme too. (bleh, boring, on to thenext one who is not)

Casey: skinnymotherfucker, about the same height as Donnie, and the most ‘metal’ gem to haveever come into existence. His clothing is a mess of whites and greys and black,mostly because he ended up coming out of the ground… kind of wrong? His gem hasa shard of foreign material in it, so while he’s still perfectly good in afight, he’s not entirely a gem and thus didn’t stick to the physical design hewas supposed to. He also popped out of the ground without a lick of knowledgeabout the empire, or gems, or even who the hell he was, so he never took thename Onyx. He’s always just been Casey, and he was raised up with verydifferent ideals than what other gems got.

Anyways. Bandanna boy looks like this scruffy skinny thing, andtends to change his outfit every time he regenerates. (which is often. because he’sCasey and he is always getting intotrouble.) dark grey skin, and black hair, etc. Canon him, but worse, because he can regenerate himselfand his weapons as many times as hewants. Cue endless chaos.

Uh, as for headcanons, I guess I’ll give an assortment ofrandom things I have in my head about this AU:

-Donnie doesn’t like sleeping. He says it feels weird and isuncomfortable with being unaware of his surroundings.

-Casey and Mikey are the only ones who eat food regularly. Everyoneelse either partakes on few occasions, or outright refuses because it’s gross.

-Leo has a vintage collection of sci-fi comics and books,and adores them, despite having… actually lived a sci-fi adventure… literallyhis whole life…

-how each of the boys, and then April, took their new nameshad to do with the books and bizarre timekeeping policies that came from adistant planet that Splinter found at one point and became taken with.

-Raph keeps pets, but not often, since he outlives them alland it feels like they die too quickly to make the pain worth it.

-when they found him, Mikey hadn’t ever met another gem. It was…an experience. For everyone involved.

-the first time Donnie met Leo and Raph, he kicked Raph hardenough he fell down a cliff. Then Leo too. That was also an experience foreveryone involved.

-gardening is a hobby everyone eventually gets involved in.Since the planet they spend the most time on is mostly uninhabited, they cancreate enormous gardens and come back in a few years to see how things haveprogressed. The perks of living extremely long lives, am I right?

-fusion is an iffy subject at first, because everyone isstill shaking off the old social ideals of the empire, but eventually itbecomes a very regular occurrence. The first ones to fuse are Leo and Mikey,because of a dire situation. I haven’t decided their fusion gem quite yet, but I’llget to it.

-no one is sure why Casey’s weapon is a hockey stick, or… all that clear on what that really is… but thatdoesn’t stop Casey from using it in battle. And during their down time. Andpretty much constantly.

-Donnie gets reunited with an old, dear friend at somepoint. It’s an important reunion, since this person helped him find theconfidence to own himself, and belong to no one.

-April’s past is something she keeps hidden for a longwhile, until they find a ship that has information in its mainframe about her,and what she was designed to do…

-sleeping piles happen multiple times, okay? Even if somemembers of the pile don’t actually sleep during it.

31: Do you take liberties with canon or are you very strict about your fic being canon compliant?i take a looooot of liberties i think? which is why i always tend to write modern aus, because i feel like it’s less bad for me to do so in those instances. not that taking liberties with canon-canon is bad, but i do worry a lot about getting things spot on because ive been in fandoms before where cocking up a canon fact could get you a raft of “yOU DONT KNOW A DAMN THING”s and yknow what? i dont know a damn thing but i dont need to be called out on that tyvm

however! since hbowar is an awful lot more chill and lovely, i have found myself delving into more canon-era writing than i ever thought i would, which is lovely! and whilst sticking to canon is still something i try and do my best with, i don’t mind mixing things up a little bit with it either as much as i used to!

32: How do you feel about smut?i dont wanna get too weird and intense and personal here, but i have an incredibly complicated relationship with smut. it’s primarily to do with The Past, and because it still lingers around me a lot, so do the complications. having said that! things are a lot better than they were then (my bf isn’t an addict OR a controlling asshole like it was, for starters), so i feel… less bad about reading it than i did? “less bad” isnt the wording i want for that, i think less weird is better maybe? either way! i still read it and tbh i kind of like reading it too but it’s usually just for the aesthetics and also! the feelings. i love feelings.

i personally don’t write smut! for the reasons listed earlier but also a) in case anyone i know in real life ever stumbled across it, b) im not somebody who’s particularly interested in sex myself so it’s like- it feels a bit bizarre writing it sometimes, and c) i can’t write it for shit. i genuinely cannot. i think about it. i have headcanons about it (ron speirs is UNREAL at oral, for instance). but i can’t write it, and so i don’t. no hate to anyone that does though!! i think it’s a wonderful thing.

33: How do you feel about crack?you’re asking this of the lady who superimposes the faces of easy company onto farmers for a living, i’d just like to remind you of that ;)

i looove it. i love it. i’ll admit that i sometimes find some of it a little bit cringey (less so in the hbowar fandom but like! back in the anime days. oh god. i have seen and read some shit in my time). but for the most part! it’s something i adore, cause its just really nice to have fun, yknow? it’s like the spice girls luztoye stuff i did- that’s arguably cracky, i think? but it’s a lot of fun to write! and it can sometimes be a sweet bit of relief amongst the oh-so-beautiful and yet utterly gut-wrenching angst we have here too ahah

34: What are your thoughts on non-con and dub-con?non-con is an absolute no go for me. that goes kind of without saying.

dub-con is also a no go for the most part except like- okay, im going to give a personal example of this because it’s the best way i can explain how i feel about it;

last night, i was pretty drunk. not completely out of it, can barely walk, is absolutely not able to think or fend for herself in any way drunk, but still pretty drunk. my bf (who was sober and who is also an angel) came to walk me home for extra safety, and we kissed a couple times cause yknow- i love him and he’s got a very smoochable face. now i know that can sometimes be seen as dub-con perhaps because one party was drunk, however! i was still able to think and act for myself, and i was fully consenting (i remember doing so clearly, and also we’re in a pretty tactile relationship where those kinds of things are just a given)- so dub-con in that sense, then yeah im okay with that. 

however, anything more than kissing, or stuff where one person has said yes but only after a hefty amount of persuasion, or anything else that isn’t an explicit “yes, i WOULD like to do this with you”, then yeah- that’s a no go.

35: Would you ever kill off a canon character?yeah!! i have done before in fact (though never in hbowar writing- however i do plan on it with this pacific idea i have muhahaha). for the angst, innit?

36:Which is your favorite site to post fic?ao3 for sure!! i used to use ff dot net, and im pretty sure my old account is still floating about on there too (thankfully a completely different username to any of my current ones lmao), but i love ao3 a lot and it’s so much more efficient and wonderful and it makes interactions with other writers a little easier. also! the format is sooo much nicer oh my gosh

37: Talk about your current wips.oh gosh i have so many!! im currently working on some playlist prompts i got the other day, that were just supposed to be playlists but i ended up writing ficlets for too. there’s a farm/webgott one (that’s pretty long!), a baberoe, a luztoye, and then a buck/malarkey one that im curious about doing since ive not written for them before.

outside of the prompts! im working on a luztoye twin peaks but not really twin peaks kind of thing, and some baberoe stuff, and a couple of other drabbles ive had in my drafts for a very long time too!!

38: Talk about a review that made your day.oh gosh this just reminded me of all the super sweet comments i was supposed to reply to but i havent been on ao3 in a while (logged in i mean) and keep forgetting to! i’ll have to get around to that soon!!

each and every single review i get brightens up my day a lot! it means the world that people take the time to read my stuff and leave comments and each one means so so much more to me than i think i could ever really get into writing. so thank you!! thank you

39: Do you ever get rude reviews and how do you deal with them?luckily! ive never really gotten any rude reviews and im really appreciative of that- though i feel like this is generally because the hbowar family for the most part is one of the most mature and respectful fandoms around, something that never gets old to me!

40: Write an alternative ending to [insert fic title] (or just the summary of one). okay so!! you said Scar Tissue for this one, and i guess a summary of an alternative ending for this one would be that they would kiss!! because they didn’t kiss in the original and i kind of wish they had done but at the same time i didnt want to rush things. the fic would be longer, and they would kiss, and george would open up to joe a little too since there are a lot of things i think george has going on that he doesn’t really talk about either- things im hoping to explore in a different fic in the future (key word being hoping) !

rip, okay, once again i apologize about this one being even later, mostly bc i saw it early, but i haven't been able to sit down and respond to it. this week was the last week of the month so i actually had a lot to do at work and was able to go in every day (as opposed to 1 - 2 days bc business is still so slow). but at the end of the month i do invoicing for inventory charges for that month for each customer. though i was able to actually get a lot of it done sooner than usual (bc i actually started the process on tuesday instead of thursday), there were still three big ones i couldn't even do until thursday bc they had several orders in production that didn't get shipped until thursday. before i just—IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ ABOUT THIS GBF RAMBLING FEEL FREE TO SKIP BELOW TO THE END THE GBF OF RAMBLE—this event askjdsjkdfslkdjsdjg talk about giving the antag his redemption art event. the emotional growth in sho. so many new assets to save… there are fricking 6 different versions of his character labeled _painful (_painful, _painful2, etc.), and like so many zoom in's that basically every one of his images has an _up version (the battle ones ((the ones of him on his gearcycle)) also have a bunch of _up2 versions that are zoomed in between the default and _up close up) anyways these in particular kill me.

sho "i'm-not-going-to-cry-or-show-expresions-of-gratitude" awkwardly smiling and crying in this event (while also repeatedly getting the shit kicked out of him/getting hurt. having a moment of breaking down from exhaustion and pain, in the rain, before deciding he has to swallow his pride. every single english word that comes out of his mouth, cv: taniyama kishou is a gift (on a side note i can't believe he fucking played alpha in chronostone. like thats fucking hilarious a va and voicalist capable of such range and drama voicing alpha and his serious monotone ass). Sho (@tsubasa): You showed me the light before—[…] Tsubasa: Wait, what? Whaddya mean I showed you the light? ((you mean when he punched you in the fucking face at the end of the previous event of this series?))). I mean I already shipped bc of the their last event, how can you not ship the guy screaming he's going to kill the protag w/the protag esp after getting punched in the face by the protag at the end makes him calm down and be like fine i guess you win i'm not going to try to kill you know and our gangs don't have to fight. also they're both like 16 (or at least tsubasa is canon 16 (a yeas totally looks like a 16 year old) and sho is at least still in school and at least confirmed to be a minor (not age of majority, which idk what that is exactly in universe, could be 18, could be 20, bc it is fantasy, but it's also japanese, thoguh japan's age of majority is actually lowering from 20 to 18 next april (2022), drinking/smoking/gambling age will still be 20, and the comment in this event was about we're still minors save the smoking for when you're an adult). sho could arguably be 18 or 19 and still believably in school and be considered a minor legally (if in universe gbf follows japanese laws) considering the time he spent in juvie he could easily have been held back. gbf will probably just make him tsubasa's age if a canon age is release. but thinking about sho being 19 and tsubasa being 16 would make some ppl upset and that brings me joy. (also just how funny it could be thinking about (bc everyone is perpetually the same age) how later when sho a year older and legally being able to drink, and tsubasa not, and despite the fact sho being like i will break the laws about physically assaulting a guy but underage drinking, smoking, and drugs is a no-no is fucking hilarious. (the app is rated t so i guess there's only so much you can do…) (oh and one last note, a character in the event asking if sho enjoys the pain and is a masochist, to have other character be like dude you can't just ask someone that. sho saying no he doesn't enjoy the pain. only for later when they are escaping, a character noting "You look rather happy about all this. Now I'm sure youre a masochist." gbf first crushing my sho masochist headcanon and then building it back up in this event, thank u gbf). anways, rip that was a lot and not even everything, as you can see i have been… distracted by this event. apologies

oh god worry about ppl like that in ina like, there really people out there who don't want you shipping ficitional children?????? and the main ina cast is roughly between 12-15. and got i started watching ina in 2013 when i was 19. which apparently for some people is like bad uwu because it's a show for young teenagers (like lol too bad i'm 27 and even though i haven't kept up with aries i still love ina and all the little babies and wont stop shipping). i didn't even know there was people out there who get UPSET AT AGING UP??? like wtf???? sorry i want them to be old enough to marry, adopt children, have a job, and also f.uck. the dpk au is my lifeblood (and has a lot of Problematic™ content that's never even been posted online anywhere bc it used to be an rp. my favorite is that out of all the relationships in the au, tenma and kyousuke's is probably the most unhealthy bc of kyousuke's mental health. some very bad things happened to fei (per request of my rp partner) (part of vanfeny and garsha's revenge on saru as they were sent to megun while saru walks around ''free'' (what exactly is free is a whole other lore mess in itself that i wrote up about post chrono stone future). and that just lead to more bad things fei then did to himself. problematic™ content 9492347 in the dpk au, shipping ozrock and lalaya. (even worse, bc of lore planning i did for the au and decided how their species worked, lalaya is about 6.5 cycles (faram obius years) or roughly 130 earth years and biologically similar to 13 year earth years, and ozrock is about 48 Ixal years roughly 48 earth years and biologically similar to 24 earth years. so like even a worse ship. i mean just ignore cultural norms would be different on an alien planet and also she's royalty and has an obligation to be wed even younger and is probably socially more mature than a human 13 year old. rip sorry i just like alien stuff. a lot of this was also because wouldn't it be great for lalaya to have a really long lifespan so the human friends she makes get older faster and also die way before her :) ina's gunna hurt me with the bug aliens then i'm going to… continue to hurt myself with more alien life span stuff.)

Anyways, With TenKyou, idk I think it's easy to paint tenma as the innocent ~pure baby~ and kyousuke as ~bad boy~ bc of the first inago… and seed kyousuke was a little bastard man (affectionate). which would idk explain the default to kyouten. but like kyousuke chills the hell out in chrono stone and galaxy. and just bc tenma is a dumbass with a heart of gold obsessed with soccer doesn't necessarily mean he's has to be ~innocent baby 受け~ trope. (not that these are the only tropes that decide) (maybe it's bc i sort of like messing with what it must be like to be the main protagonists best friend and watch him continue to overcome everything and be in the spot light and how everyone praises him. kyousuke with self-esteem issues, looking back at all the problems he's caused, tenma has flaws but they're either negligible or something to love about him and mine have only hurt others. disregarding his own goddamn plot armor in the past. complex, emotional, suffering kyousuke is how i like my kyousuke. need we even get into how god eden was canonically revealed to be physically/mentally abusing seeds and that whole can of worms) (also just "nervous baby i don't know how to approach tenma" kyousuke, "cheeky little shit doesn't have any regards to personal space and boundries" tenma) at least if anyone starts giving me shit about an ina ship or problematic fictional ina content, i can always respond with something i drew back in 2015.

back to the matter of new snap though… that line is so familiar (im pretty sure it's in the eng txt, i have it set to jpn audio tho). i recently started keeping a log of the messages that pop up on the camp, lab, and map screens (but haven't saved too many bc i get distracted or at least i know i'm missing quite a few i have vague memories of). (also idk why my first thought to that line was mirror responding with "That was because you were the one calling me that.") there actually were a couple messages i saved initially that would be useful for fic writing:

Todd: "The professor used to be kinda reckless back in the day. I suppose after 10 year he must've calmed down a bit."

and

Mirror: "Todd's calmed down since I last saw him. Or maybe he's just acting mature because you kids are around…"

possible implications from these that I'm deciding to consider for headcanons:

both reckless and wild in their early 20's but that's not unusual, so they were acting like reckless young adults when they were 20. makes sense.

because mirror mentions the last time i saw him (which is definitely implied not 10 years ago since todd had a research team pin so obviously he's been around a bit since the lab was established) meaning todd is potentially still a chaotic bastard but is just trying to act like an adult in front of the kids. beautiful.

and on that note another wonderful Tood message:

Todd: "I never invited Phil to be my pupil—he just declared himself my "number one student" and started tagging along! But honestly…I was kind of flattered."

the possibility that when todd showed up in game, after that cutscene he went to talk to mirror like "this 10 year old just started following me and wont go away, pls help. what do i do?????"

this unsupervised 10 year old just followed a ~30 year old man into the wilderness and somehow just declares todd is mentor (and took the research team pin from todd to ''borrow''). this is a hostage situation. todd is the hostage.

the idea that perhaps todd just got back from a long expedition and was glad to be back and spend time with mirror, except this kid started following him around and wont leave him alone or go away, and then when he got to the lab there were two more kids there. how the fuck am i supposed to get it on with mirror when we have little alone time and when we finally do we're constantly at risk of being interrupted and/or walked-in on. (that last part was mainly the premise of the fic i wanted to write. "these kids are a handful how are we supposed to have intimate time. especially bc they're all so young and have child energy levels and when they go to bed i am already fucking exhausted." i'm thinking it might work better as like a drabble collection, that way i don't have to adhere to a plot line and can pick and choose scenarios to write because i keep winding up with more scenario ideas that i can nearly piece together into a coherent timeline anymore.)

(also a bit that rita becomes suspicious that they are 100% fu.cking even though all that happened was mirror wasn't asleep up in his bed above the lab and fell asleep in one of the bungalows w/todd and then tried to cover it up like haha what no, i was checking on todd he's not feeling well uh… what? where are my pants? oh. oh i can't believe i just totally got out of bed and left the lab without my pants haha.) (todd and mirror just trying to keep their relationship a secrete out of fear of rumors spreading and it affecting the lab's funding, even though rumors definitely started ages ago but neither of them realize). (also todd doesn't trust phil to keep his mouth shut and doesn't like the optics of the random 10 year old who started following him (UNSUPERVISED) just blabbing to his parents about how his cool mentor is dating the professor at the lab like yikes that could end badly worst case scenario.)

(i like the idea of mirror playing along with todd's ki.nk, albeit a little awkward sometimes (not very good at being intentionally 'sexy' about it, but that's not what todd wants anyways bc it's already inherenty sexy for him). Phill has a message "I barely get half the stuff the professor talks about. Do you?" and i can only image if he said that to todd
