Ooookkkkk so! there's a lot of AI hate (which i totally understand bc some of the things done with AI are unfair and downright up setting), BUT AI isn't doing it on its own. If you feel as if AI is stealing jobs, don't ask if there's some way to stop AI from advancing, but if there's a way to stop ppl who are using it wrongly

AI isn't MEANT to take away jobs it "allows computers to perform tasks that usually require human intelligence" so we human don't have to work as hard jobs and can focus on things that actually matter to us

I am not saying, "Oh yeah, let AI keep advancing till we're all overthrown by robots." HAH! no no...no..I'm also terrified of that prospect!

I am saying don't let the ill actions of some humans color your vision in red for a virtually useful and helpful instrument of advanced technology

I've been playing w the idea that the more Danny transforms, the more his ghost form gets "lively" while his human form gets weaker and more sickly. He knows that if he keeps transforming like this then, one day, he's not going to have a livable body to go back to, but he really doesn't want to think about all that. He's more interested in the weird "totally dead but not dead" Wayne son who may or may not have a thing for his sister.

everytime i do one these im like "this time I'll keep it simple so I don't have to suffer through colouring bc I have zero foresight—it'll be greyscale at most" and then all of the sudden its 4am and i'm trying to finish a stupid comic but i decided to add "some" colour to spice it up and hide my shitty ink job and then SOME COLOUR ALWAYS BECOMES FULL COLOUR WHY CAN I NOT ESCAPE THIS STUPID CYCLE!!

(did this all stem from me not being able to decide between a super pale character design and one w a vibrant tan bc I love white hair + tan but I also love extremely pale albino so I forced myself to find a way to make both work? never! that's absurd!)

Has Machete ever had to comfort or calm down Vasco?

I think Vasco might have a bit of a habit of suppressing and underplaying his negative emotions, he doesn't like showing sadness or anger. He is genuinely optimistic and carefree and usually handles stress and difficult situations calmly, it takes a lot to truly get under his skin. But even he has his bad days and weak moments and of course Machete tries to be there for him. His attempts to comfort him are clumsy and inexperienced but I'd like to think that over time he gets better at it, largely by mirroring and replicating Vasco's own behavior.

i think the reason oliver is such a compelling character - or at least to me, he is - is because in the end…he wins! he gets what he wants and comes out on top.

in this modern world everyone is a bit of an oliver. crippling social anxiety, awkward, booksmart, and later in the film mostly queer audiences STILL find themselves relating to oliver’s struggle of how to express a desire that is so unconventional, so disturbing, so queer. normally in shows like this - shows with stunning rich people and their stunning social skills - the social outcast remains a social outcast. the queercoded character does not get their happy ending and remains the perpetual butt of the joke.

but in saltburn? saltburn almost has a gone girl sort of ending in the way the supposed villain gets what they want in the end, and we’re rooting for them! we see a mostly unexplored perspective in cinema - the perspective of the outsider, of the freak, and we see just how awful these people - beautiful shiny upper class folk - are, and then this outsider, who has been patronised and placed on a pedestal and humiliated, gets his revenge and gets everything he desired in the end. and in a world where queer, different characters are killed off or side lined or made fun off for whom or what they desire, oliver stands out, because he gets what he desires and he makes the audience root for him while he’s doing it.
