It’s late when they make it back. Christopher’s been passed out since they crossed the state line. Eddie’s absolutely exhausted, a little delirious from eleven and a half hours in the car but so, so happy as the little house on Bedford Drive comes into view. He gets Chris awake enough to shuffle inside and get into bed, and then drags their bags inside, leaving them in the front hall. Everything else can wait.
Tomorrow they’re going to head straight to Buck’s in the morning to surprise him—Eddie promised Chris it would be the first thing they did when they got back to LA. He’s already checked with Bobby to make sure he’s not on shift.
He’d been too scared to tell Buck that they were coming home. Terrified that Chris would change his mind, or that his parents would try to stop them, or that something would happen to snatch it all away from him again. It hadn’t feel real, hadn’t felt permanent, until he walked up the front steps.
Now, easing down the familiar creaky hallway and pushing open the bedroom door, Eddie lets out the breath he’s been holding since the day Chris left.
The sight that greets him on the other side of the door steals that breath right back.
There’s someone lying in his bed. Eddie knows it’s Buck before he can even understand how he knows it’s Buck. As if he could recognize him from just the outline of his sleeping body in the dark.
In the wake of his initial surprise, Eddie is filled with something he can only call peace. He’s home. They’re home. And somehow, it makes sense that Buck should be here, asleep in Eddie’s bed like he belongs there.
Moving quietly, Eddie sheds his pants and exchanges his road-worn henley for a fresh t-shirt. Then he moves to the other side of the bed and climbs in beside Buck.
“‘’ddie?” comes the sleep-roughened rumble of Buck’s voice.
“Hey,” Eddie says softly in the dark. “I didn’t mean to wake you.”
“S’okay. ’m glad. You’re here,” he says, or maybe it’s I’m glad you’re here.
“I’m glad you’re here, too,” Eddie says, settling onto the pillow next to him. Under the blankets, Buck moves, rolling toward him, tucking all that bulk against Eddie. Eddie wraps an arm around him, letting himself, in this quiet, unguarded moment, live in the spaces of Buck’s body, in the warm certainty that no matter how far he goes, Buck will always be his home.
He breathes in, letting all the tension of the last few weeks dissipate, and presses his cheek into the hollow of Buck’s throat. Sleep is creeping up on him, waiting to pull him under.
Buck lets out a little hum, almost a moan, and turns his face toward Eddie’s.
It’s as natural as anything to meet him there, lips nudging together in a kiss that’s sweet and soft until it isn’t. Until Buck grabs the back of Eddie’s head, angling his face to kiss him deeper, until Eddie opens his mouth to greedily drink every sigh and whimper from Buck’s mouth, until he presses Buck down against the sleep-warm sheets and kisses him and kisses him and kisses him.
But sleep is still lapping at his edges, and soon the near frantic need slows into something languid and undemanding.
Buck sighs his name, sounding half a step from sleep himself, and they settle again, tangled together.
“I’m gonna tell you everything in the morning,” Eddie promises. Means it, too, when he says everything—everything that went down in El Paso with his parents, with Chris, everything he’s been keeping back from Buck because he couldn’t bear to tell him with eight hundred miles still between them. “But tonight I just—I’m home. We’re home. And I love you. That’s the most important part.”
“I love you, too,” Buck says, as easy as anything. Like it’s something he’s said a hundred times before. And maybe—maybe it really is that easy.
Buck hums again and between one breath and the next Eddie feels him drop back off.
He follows soon after.
When Eddie wakes, he’s alone. It takes him a full minute to even remember where he is—not in Texas anymore thank god— and an additional few seconds to remember that Buck was in his bed last night.
That’s also about when he hears the sound of the kitchen door closing just a little too hard.
He’s out of bed so quickly he’s almost dizzy, stumbling across the hall and into the kitchen where he finds Buck.
Buck who is not, as Eddie might have thought, shuffling around in his pajamas trying to get the coffee going for them. Instead he’s standing fully dressed, shoes on, with a duffle bag slung over his shoulder.
Eddie leans against the doorway. “Were you seriously gonna try to sneak out?”
Buck jumps at the sound of his voice and then immediately goes rigid, his head angled down like a dog waiting to be scolded for bad behavior. “Eddie.”
“Well?” Eddie asks.
“I—” Buck chokes out, his shoulders stiffening, his hand clenched around the strap of his duffle bag. “I’m sorry.”
“For sneaking out?”
Buck nods, face red and bright. “For—all of it. For being in your house when you were—when you were gone. For sleeping in your bed. For—for last night.”
“You’re sorry for last night?” Eddie echoes. “Buck, you kissed me.”
Buck flinches. “I didn’t—I thought I was dreaming.”
“What?”
“When you woke me up last night I—I thought I was still dreaming,” Buck says. “That’s why I kissed you. And then I woke up this morning and you were really there and that meant I’d really, actually kissed you, and I—”
“Freaked out and decided to sneak out of the house before I woke up?” Eddie suggests.
Buck nods miserably.
“And at any point in this freak out did it occur to you that the fact that you really, actually kissed me means that I really, actually kissed you back?”
“I—oh.”
“Yeah, oh,” Eddie repeats, unable to stop the smile from spreading over his face.
“You wanted it,” Buck says slowly. “You…”
“Want it,” Eddie corrects, crossing the space between them and taking Buck’s face in his heads. “Really, actually.”
Buck drops the duffel bag on the ground. Eddie kisses him, as sweet and slow as he’d kissed him last night. Buck makes a noise that sounds like wanting and kisses him back, holding onto Eddie’s arms, thumbs digging into the soft parts of his wrists.
“This is real, Buck,” Eddie murmurs between lush, indulgent kisses. “I’m really here. I’m really home. And I really love you.”
“I love you, too,” Buck says, and it’s so different from the way he said it last night. In the light of morning, the words are tremulous and precious, but still easy, so easy.
Eddie smiles, and before he can kiss him again, Buck pulls back.
“And…you don’t think it’s weird?” he asks anxiously. “That I was, uh—living here?”
“Well, that explains the duffle bag,” Eddie says mildly. His hand finds Buck’s shoulder, his gaze finding Buck’s. “Buck, everything has felt wrong since the second Christopher walked out that door with my parents. Last night was the first time in my life that everything, finally, felt right.”
“Oh,” Buck says, eyes pink and wet. “That’s—me, too. That’s why I thought it had to be a dream.”
Eddie kisses him again and this time—this time the kiss turns from soft to molten. Eddie had been too exhausted last night to even think about anything more but now—now he’s definitely thinking about it. And judging by the noises Buck’s making and the way his hips hitch against Eddie’s, he’s thinking about it, too.
“You know,” Eddie says breezily, walking them backward out of the kitchen and back toward the bedroom. “We had a pretty long drive yesterday. Chris’ll probably be asleep for the next few hours. Maybe in the meantime, we can see if I can make some of your other dreams come true.”

I just saw a post where they mentioned what if Logan mocked your moans while he fingered you, or was doing anything really. It seems like it would feel silly coming from him but also so perfectly degrading
summary: y/n had always had a crush on Logan. not the worst Logan, but her timeline Logan. sadly, he died, and now she was stuck with this variant Wade had brought back home. sharing an apartment with an asshole was bad enough, but sharing one with an attractive, cocky, asshole, was far worse. especially when he knew how he made you feel.
note: this story will be the worst Logan. as always, he’s grumpy, and just an open asshole who thinks he’s better than the people he’s around.
———
“Who do you think you are?” Y/n looked up into the man’s eyes with anger, upset that he wouldn’t let her leave the apartment to go out with her friends. She goes out every weekend, and every weekend, he tries to stop her.
“Wade’s gone, and you’re out again — What are you hiding, y/n?” Logan asked, knowing whatever she did was none of her business. “I’m the legal age to drink and club, and you’re in my business about it? — Let me go,” y/n tried taking her arm away.
“You don’t pay for the bills here. Wade does, and-“ Logan tried making up some story about how disrespectful she would be to do what she wants. “And, Wade doesn’t give a shit. What now? I’m a grown woman. I could have a whole family if I wanted to, and you’re trying to trap me in the apartment like I’m some teen,”
“You don’t need to be out there, y/n,” Logan said, knowing what she goes out there for. He couldn’t stand it. Usually, when he teased women and they played hard to get, they didn’t just go out and party. Y/n did, and he couldn’t handle that.
“Get off of me, or I burn you,” y/n threatened as her body temperature heartened. “I’ll heal, and I don’t think you want to deal with me after I do,” Logan threatened as he moved his face inches from hers.
Within seconds, the man let go of how hot her skin was getting. Y/n instantly turned around and left to get out and away from the man who was trying his best to control her.
Fast-forward several hours, y/n finally returned from the nightclub she had attended with her lady friends. Many hours of drinking and plenty of hours of kissing random men had accrued that night.
That only made Logan’s blood boil as he watched every second of it pass by. He debated on lashing out at her every time she went to the bathroom, but when she went, she was always with a girl-friend.
The older man had to suffer for hours as the woman he’d been dying to have, had been kissing other men.
He couldn’t understand why y/n was so stuck up. Last he checked, women lived them rude and cocky. What happened in this timeline?
“Finally home,” Logan spoke in the corner of the darkroom as y/n stumbled into the apartment. She instantly rolled her eyes and sighed as she kicked off her shoes, barely being able to open her eyes or stand correctly.
“Gonna at least speak to me? Or are you too pissy drunk?” Logan asked, knowing which one it was. “That’s what I thought,” the man shook his head as he got up to walk toward her, but she paid no attention and made her way to her room.
“You didn’t even lock the door!” Logan shouted after her, but she ignored him, barely able to think about anything that was happening around her. Once she left the club with loud music, that was it for her.
Logan locked the front door and straightened up the shoes she kicked off on the front mat before he made his way toward her room. The man went to open her door, but she had locked it to shut him out for the night.
Logan sat in his room for a good hour, thinking about the way he should handle y/n. Should he kick her door down and yell at her? Should he talk to her from outside of her room? Should he wait to bring it up tomorrow? Or should he never speak of tonight?
Through the hour, he also thought about those men she let touch all over her and explore her mouth. He swore he’s never been too pissed off about a woman in his life.
It’s almost like she knew he was there to rub it in his face, and if that was the case, and he were to ever find out, he wouldn’t know how far he’d get upset.
All the men she kissed tonight waited for her, like some dog. It’s like Logan could see them a mile away. Why did she choose them, and not him? Logan was the real man here, not them.
“Fuck that,” Logan growled low as he pushed off of his bed and made his way out of his room. The man walked down the small hall before kicking y/n’s door open, causing her to jolt a bit in her sleep.
“Get up,” Logan demanded, but she barely understood him. She was still drunk, and now half asleep and in her dream. “What?” Y/n asked low as she saw the huge man make his way towards her.
“Up!” Logan demanded again before he ripped her cover off. “Hey-“ y/n went to say before Logan grabbed and pulled her up until she was seated in her bed. “Logan, what’s the deal?” Y/n asked, always irritated as he shifted her bottom to the edge of the bed.
“I want you to tell me if they mattered,” Logan spoke, only confused y/n. “What-“ y/n tried saying before Logan ripped her panties off. She had only worse panties and a bra to sleep in tonight instead of a nightgown like she usually wears. She was far too drunk to go through her drawers and find one.
“Hey,” y/n said as she went to push Logan’s fingers away that she rubbed across her heat. “You’re not even wet — They couldn’t have been that good, then,” Logan’s delusion fully kicked in before he stuck to fingers deep into y/n’s mouth.
Y/n tried pulling away and shaking her head, but Logan continued until his fingers were soaked with her saliva.
“Don’t bitch if it goes in dry then,” Logan said before he pushed two fingers at her entrance. “Hey, no-“ y/n went to stop him, but her voice cracked out as her hands stayed in shock right next to her thighs.
The young lady gripped her sheets as Logan curled his two fingers inside of her. “At least you’re empty — Maybe you’re not such a slut after all,” Logan said as y/n whined at the instant feeling of her stomach tightening.
“Aw, what’s wrong? Am I too big? — Fuck, I haven’t even put my dick in you yet,” Logan chuckled as he began to push his fingers in and out of her heat, focusing on her moans and the way she gripped around him.
“L-Lo-L-Lo,” y/n stuttered as she tried her best to keep herself up. “Lo-Lo-Lo — Fucking pathetic,” Logan mocked the girl as he looked into her eyes. She could barely hold them open as Logan played inside of her.
“No more,” y/n cried low as she felt herself near, upset that she wasn’t pushing the man off. She was strong enough to get rid of Logan, but something in her didn’t want him to stop this.
“You didn’t tell those little boys to stop — What makes you think I’ll fucking stop? Huh? — Ian stoppin’ princess,” Logan assured y/n, only making her roll her eyes, fully turned on by the way he was treating her.
For so long, y/n has been waiting for Logan to show just how cocky and asshole-like he could get. Finally, tonight, he decided to let it out.
With her being drunk, she couldn’t love this even more. There was nothing she could do about the way she was about to gush all over him.
“I’m gonna cum,” y/n said low as she fell back onto her mattress, getting ready to give Logan what he was trying so desperately to get from her. “There you go — Relax that body — Give it to me, Bub,” and with that, she did.
Y/n’s body locked up for a few seconds before shaking. Logan couldn’t help but laugh at her to taunt the way she got because of him. “Look at how I get you,”
Logan licked himself after he pulled out of y/n, making sure to get a treat for himself. That had triggered his mind to pick her up and take her to his room to continue eating her out.
“Get those fucking hands away from me, or I’ll make you count till ten,” Logan threatened after y/n tried pushing his head away from her heat. “No more — Please,” y/n begged the man as she took deep gasps.
All Logan did was chuckle into her heat, knowing he had too many more orgasms to go.

Hear me out…
sub!Luke with a praise kink after a game like last night…
Nonnie, always hearing you out, my love.
Tumblr media
You feel the bed dip beside you, not softly but vigorously, like Luke has stripped his suit off and thrown himself down, facing the ceiling as he pulls the cover over himself. He’s not worried if he woke you, he knows you’re awake, he knows why. He rolls onto his side to face you, arm draping over your waist and sneaking under your (his) t-shirt to feel that small sense of grounding, the skin contact, the reminder that you’re real and you’re here with him.
“Hey,” you mutter, eyes meeting his tired ones, his breathing shaking, “I know, Lu, it sucks.”
You bring your hand to his cheek, palm cupping it and thumb caressing over his cold skin, his grip around you tightening as he pulls you closer into him. His eyes are glossy, those puppy eyes that blossom a warmth in your chest.
He croaks out, gaze set on yours still and melting into your hand, “I suck. Played like shit and I’m supposed to play again on Saturday. Not gonna be long until I get benched or worse.”
With knitted eyebrows, you perch yourself up onto your elbow, hand still very much on his cheek but you’re looking down at him, down on his slightly pathetic pouting that triggers an unfathomable craving to coddle gripping you.
“That’s not gonna happen, pretty boy. You’re a fucking good player, everybody wants you on their team and there has not been a second where you’ve been doubted. Forget about tonight, yeah, want me to help?” You affirm, stern yet with a tint of lust crawling onto your face, pulling the corners of your lips up with half-lidded eyes. He likes when you speak to him sultry, no, he loves that bubbling feeling in his stomach whether he’s miserable or not, it’s something other than despair.
“Thanks, angel,” he whispers out, your words soaking into him, cleansing his spiralling thoughts and he feels as if you’re washing him of this feeling, “but ’m not in the mood for sex tonight, beautiful. I’m sorry.”
The curl in your lips turns to a smirk, the hand on his cheek sliding to the bottom of his jaw, taking it between your fingertips as you lean back slowly, guiding him to lean above you briefly. He leans on his forearm, curious, dazed, wetting his lips as he watches your every move intently, eyes following your hands take the hem of your t-shirt and pull it deliberately up your body, purposely teasing him. The fabric brushes over your nipples and you drop the clothing at your neck, hands taking his nape and jaw, bringing his face into the valley of your tits. He’s weak. He’s a weak man when it comes to your tits, his eyes have a sparkle in them and he’s almost drooling, allowing his body to move on its own, sliding on top of you, lowering gently - in fear of crushing you- until he’s lying flat, his nose meeting your sternum and your fingers running over his back and through his curls.
“Mmf.” He hums, sending little vibrations over your flesh and to your cunt, a smile on your lips as his muscles relax into you, your bodies melding together like wax where you can mould each other to fit perfectly.
He pushes up slightly, scanning over your tits before latching his mouth to your left nipple, taking as much of the surface into his mouth as he can and swirling his tongue over the sensitive bud, sucking with closed eyes and letting the pleasure fog his mind and take him somewhere else. He sucks hard, with purpose and you let him no matter the marks he’ll leave behind, Luke knows how to use his mouth on you, so when the tip flickers, you’re humming out in satisfaction at the giddy sensations, back arching.
“That’s it, pretty boy. You always deserve this, hm? Tried so hard out there, I’ll always reward my Luke.” You mutter provocatively, both hands gliding over his shoulder blades in circles, nails gently running along his skin to awaken those featherlight tickles that prickle up his spine.
He moans deeply, from his throat, releasing your breast with a string of saliva and moving to the other. His large hand grabs the mound, taking it into his mouth and lying the flat surface of his tongue over your peak, slowly dragging it up just to flick the tip and swirl the wet muscle around it again. You’re breathing heavily, keeping the whines in and enjoying the whimpers tumbling from his chest as he sucks, free hand groping your other breast to ensure it’s not neglected.
You press your hand to the back of his head, clit throbbing at him entering a space that lets him relax and forget about the game. That lets him submerge himself in your chest openly, using you for his own escape with pink-tinted cheeks. You coo at him, “Such a talented skater, Luke. M’so proud of you, so young but so special. I wish you could see how admirable you are, baby.”
“Play with my hair, please.” He mutters against you, pushing your tits together and burying his face between them, sporadically placing wet kisses with nibbles and love bites, not entirely in the same headspace as you but God, do you crave that blank look on his face. Those glass eyes, pouty lips, dazed expression paired with snuggling like his pride didn’t even matter anymore. You card your nails through his hair, languidly, delicately, enough to soothe him away from the disappointment he felt before. “Hmm, yeeaah.”
“Such a good boy. You enjoy my tits? Was I right again?” you tug at his curls lightly, pulling his head from your cleavage and lying his ear flat against the breast, so he can snuggle yet respond to you coherently, hand kneading into the other tit, “Love you so much, Lu.”
“Always know what I need, love your tits, angel. Love you more, always good for you. Kiss me?” He peers up at you pathetically, lips parted and coated in the spit that covers your chest. You nod, watching him press up from your body and hover over you, his mouth capturing yours slowly and tenderly at first, applying a desperate pressure when you moan into the kiss, hands tangling in his nape. He slips his tongue past your lips, savouring your minty flavour when he licks against your tongue before pulling away, lying sleepy back on your chest.

CRAWLING BACK TO YOU • PAIGE BUECKERS
Ever thought of calling when you’ve had a few?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
🎵: Do I Wanna Know? covered by Hozier
TW: suggestive, angst, reader is an alcoholic, usage of Y/N, mentions of nausea and vomiting
SUMMARY: you get drunk to avoid running back to your ex…but tonight it brought you right to her.
A/N: I went to a UConn game the other day!
Tumblr media
How many times were you going to find yourself in this situation? You were strolling around the crowded house, searching for anyone that would have you. You were drunk again, like you were most nights.
You did this a lot now; get wasted and hookup with strangers. The alcohol allowed you to loosen up, finally find some peace, and the hookups kept you feeling useful and pleasured.
The two of those things also kept you from groveling at the knees of UConn’s best female guard.
You and Paige had been in a serious relationship. You loved that woman. She was the best thing that ever happened to you.
But you’d fucked up. Your love for booze had scared her off. She got sick of attending parties every weekend, sick of having to take away the bottle, sick of dragging you from parties, sick of pushing you off at home when your drunk self tried to start something, sick of nursing your nasty hangovers. She had told you to chill, promised you movie nights and dates instead of parties.
You never listened, so eventually she sat you down and, with a lot of difficulty, ended things. It had become too much for her. She needed to focus on school and basketball. It was her last year in college, after all. She wanted to make it count.
Without Paige, your need for alcohol only grew, which is how you found yourself in the middle of a frat party. Things had been usual, until someone screamed and everyone started fleeing. You knew what this meant; cops. You started running, too. If the police got you, you were screwed. Chugging drink after drink was fun, until the idea of getting caught came up.
You stumbled through the woods behind the house. This was where people typically ran, but you were alone. Maybe you were going the wrong way? You could see lights up ahead, so you went towards those. If there was civilization, you could find your way home. Once you made it through the trees, you found yourself in a campus that you quickly recognized…UConn.
Well, you thought, at least you knew your way around.
You started wandering, your phone in hand, waiting until you had good enough WiFi to get an Uber.
When you first heard the sound, you thought you were imagining it. Surely it was just the sound you associated with the school.
Nope…when the small, outdoor court came into view, you realized there was someone dribbling a basketball.
That someone was Paige Bueckers.
What were the chances?! You needed to go, before she saw you. You turned around fast, and tripped over your own feet. Your body hit the grass with a small oof” sound escaping your lips.
“Y/N?!” Paige called when she saw you.
She was at your side within a second, immediately trying to get you up.
“Hi, Paige…” You said awkwardly, trying not to slur.
“The hell are you doing here?” She asked as she pulled you to your feet easily.
“I was…in town.” You shrugged.
She was gonna say something else, when her nose wrinkled. “Jesus…you smell like beer.”
It clicked in her brain just then. You opened your mouth to lie again, but all that came out was a shaky, alcohol scented breath.
“Ar you drunk?” She asked quietly.
“Just…a little bit.” You mumbled.
“Bullshit!” She exclaimed abruptly. “You’re wasted, aren’t you?!”
“I didn’t mean to be!” You yelped.
“Sure.” She scoffed. “You accidentally took a few shots? Chugged some beer? Drank some soda that you didn’t know had vodka in it?!”
You huffed, not knowing what to say. She was always right when it came to this.
“I just need to get home…” You whispered shakily.
“Where were you?” She whispered back.
“Party.”
“Hm. It’s early for you to leave a party.”
“Cops.”
An awkward silence passed. She watched you fight intoxicated tears.
“What do you want me to do, Y/N?” She sighed.
“Could you…get me a ride?” You said. “I’ll pay you back, I swear.”
“Where are you going? Home?” She asked.
You nodded.
“What if you go out again, huh? The bar? The club?”
“I’m super tired, Paige.” You shook your head. “I’m not going out.”
“You think I’m gonna believe you?” She scoffed. “You’ve pulled that shit before.”
“Then what are you gonna do?” You said, frustrated.
She sighed again, dragging a hand down her face.
“You’ll stay with me.” She announced. “Just for tonight.”
You froze. Really? Your ex would be the one taking you home?
“Come on.” She said, hesitantly placing a hand on your shoulder. “Let’s go. It’s getting cold.”
She led you back to her apartment. You were a bit unsteady, starting to feel the negative effects of the alcohol.
“Don’t you have roommates?” You asked once you were inside her building.
“They don’t mind.” She waved that off. “Just be quiet and they won’t care.”
“We shouldn’t do this…” You said.
Usually when you got drunk, you were all over her, insisting she go home with you.
You knew better by now.
“Don’t worry about it.” Paige said softly. “I just…I can’t let you go home alone right now.”
The both of you went up to her dorm. She pulled out her keys and opened the door, inviting you in. When you struggled to slip your shoes off, feeling unsteady, she knelt down to get them off for you.
“You feeling sick?” She whispered.
“Uh…not really.” You replied, despite that fact that your head was spinning.
Paige saw right through the lie.
“Go in my room.” She told you. “I’ll be right there.”
You quietly went to her bedroom, remembering where it was, of course. You perched awkwardly on the edge of her bed, waiting.
Paige came in a few minutes later, after convincing her roommates they they wouldn’t be hearing any grotesque noises. She carried a small trash bag and a glass of water.
“Drink up.” She instructed, giving you the cup. She then placed the bag in your lap. “And if you have to puke, do it in there.”
“Thanks.” You muttered.
She knelt down in front of you, looking at you with those insanely blue eyes. “C’mon…drink.”
You took a few sips of the water. You knew she was being helpful, but the water kind of made you want to throw up.
“Just hold onto that bag.” Paige said when she noticed your facial expression.
She stood up, and walked over to her closet. After digging around for a moment, she came back with a t-shirt and comfy shorts. The shirt looked so familiar…you suddenly realized why.
You would always steal her clothes when you were a couple. She often found her hoodies in your bedroom, her sweatpants (which were actually ginormous on you because she was so tall), mixed with your laundry. You rarely hid it well. Sometimes you’d just show up at her place in her clothes.
Your favorite thing to steal was one of her March Madness shirts. It was very comfy, and a reminder of how amazing Paige and her team were. So when she gave you the shirt that drunken night? You quickly burst into tears.
“What? What’s wrong?” Paige asked worriedly.
“You…you remembered.” You sniffled.
She didn’t know what to say. She felt sort of caught. She muttered a quick “Of course I did” and took the water from you.
Her bedroom was dark, only slightly lit by the moon shining through the window, so she didn’t see much when she helped you out of your party clothes. Not like she’d never seen you naked. Once you were in the comfortable clothes, she pulled the blankets on her bed back, allowing you to slip in.
“I’m gonna stop, Paige.” You whispered, still crying as she tucked you in. “I’m gonna stop drinking.”
She sighed. She’d heard you say this before, but never so seriously.
“Good.” She said. “You’re gonna kill yourself at this point.”
“I know…” You whimpered. “I don’t want to die…”
You were quick to put your head in your hands so she wouldn’t see you cry even more. She bit her lip at this. She was angry at you, for continuing to abuse alcohol, but…she hated that she was. She just wanted to comfort you. She never liked seeing you cry.
“Let’s just try to sleep, alright?” She said softly, climbing over you to lie down.
She got in the bed, keeping a safe distance. Neither of you were very comfortable. You were too tense. You hadn’t been in bed together in ages. It would’ve been nice if you weren’t so awkward.
You really tried to pull yourself together. You wiped your eyes, took deep breaths, focused on good thoughts. But your drunken tears kept coming.
Suddenly, Paige was shifting, and she was getting closer. She laid on her side, facing you. Then you felt her hand carding through your hair, gently scratching your scalp.
“What’re you doing…?” You whispered.
“When I used to do this, you’d be out cold within minutes.” She whispered back.
She kept doing the soothing motion. Your eyes were getting heavy, like she’d hoped.
“I’m really gonna stop.” You muttered.
“I know…just sleep.” She murmured.
“I miss you.” You whispered. In your half asleep, intoxicated state, you didn’t think twice about saying that.
She swallowed hard, her hand faltering for only a second. “I told you to go to sleep.”
“I just wanted you to know.” You answered.
“I know.” She repeated, smiling a little at the small amount of sass in your voice. “You don’t have to miss me, though. I’m right here.”
Exhaustion was finally getting to you, so you were falling into a deep sleep.
“I’ll be right here.” She whispered a few seconds before you fully sank into unconsciousness. “We’ll figure this out…we always do."

yunho: goodmorning. 😊
This morning had been one of those mornings. You had gotten up a little later than usual, feeling tired from the exhausting week. On top of that, you turned down Yunho's offer to bring you to work so that you wouldn't have to take the bus over; afraid you'd be asking for too much since he was gonna be driving around later tonight. Had you known the bus would be running late, you might've taken him up on it. But, with it being Friday, you were just excited to get your day over with so that you could hang out with Yunho one-on-one.
It was a blessing and a curse that it was busy as soon as you walked in this morning. A blessing because the day would breeze on by. A curse because you didn't even get a chance to respond to Yunho's cute lil text before jumping right into your task list. Until, your desktop computer decided to be stubborn and stop working properly— setting you behind even more than you already were due to the commute.
you: hi, goodmorning ☺️
you: i'm sorry for the late response! i'm having quite the morning. i have so much to do, but my desktop isn't working now. i feel so incomplet and useless. 😭
yunho: it's okay! not like i thought you forgot about me or anything .. 🥲
you: lol sorry, never!
yunho: wdym it's not working?
you: it won't stay on. keeps going on power save mode even though my settings are adjusted to never go on power save mode.
yunho: interesting. where do you sit in the peds hospital again?
you: 4th floor, M103.
yunho: i'll be over in a sec.
you: yunho?? you don't even support our unit 😭
yunho: and? lol. i have time. brb!
"What?" You mutter to yourself as you set your phone down, a little worried about Yunho getting in trouble or pushing off his work to help you. You shrug it off, scribbling in your planner and working through emails on your laptop until Yunho swings by.
Which, didn't take him long post-reply. He was at your cubicle about 15 minutes later.
"Hey." Yunho says softly.
"Hi." You shyly laugh. "How did you even get in here?"
"IT has access everywhere, believe it or not." He smiles before pointing at your desktop. "Mind if I take a look?"
"Go for it." He pulls up an empty office chair nearby and drags it over to your desk, sitting comfortably as he presses the power button. He presses it a few times and clicks away at your mouse until the screen pops up.
"Hm." He hums. "Took awhile."
"It's gonna shut down on you."
"Is that what's been happening?"
"Mhm. Just now actually. When I get it back up and running, it'll let me work for a few minutes before it shuts off and goes into power mode randomly." He's click-clacking away on the keyboard, forehead tightly knit as he eventually rests his elbow on the desk— hand hovering over his mouth, with the other on the mouse.
"How old is your computer?"
"I don't know, maybe 8-10 years old? It was passed down from the previous project manager when I stepped into her role."
"Yikes." He laughs. "I'll try a few things, but might also be a good time to consider getting a new one." He starts pulling up the terminal and plugging in some code— language you definitely don't understand.
"Yeah, I know."
"You actively push data or other work to the cloud, right? So you have a backup and can pull it up anywhere?"
"Mhm."
"Good." He gives you a small smirk. "Then, getting a replacement wouldn't be so bad. You deserve it." You laugh.
"Hope the department thinks so."
"I mean, you do need a working computer to get your things done." He sits back in the chair and crosses his arms, slightly slumped in his position. "I just plugged in a code to mimic the movement of your mouse so the computer thinks something is always happening. If you look closely at the pointer, you can see it twitching a bit." You look up close on the screen and manage to see what he's talking about.
"Woah. Okay, genius."
"Not even." He laughs. "If you don't mind me being in your space for a little longer, I wanna see if this keeps your computer awake."
"As long as it isn't taking up unnecessary time and making you behind."
"Never." He smiles at you. "So."
"So." You mimic him. "Where are you taking me later?"
"For me to know and you to find out." You snort.
"Clever. Am I dressed enough for the occasion?" Yunho eyes your outfit, running a finger across his bottom lip while he smirks at you.
"Yeah, you look good. You always do." You playfully push him on the bicep, making him laugh. "What? I can't be honest?"
"Hey— oh? Oops. Hi Yunho." Noeul gives you a look before slowly walking away.
"Hey Noeul."
"I'll come back later." She mouths out as Yunho gives off a small chuckle. Suddenly, he shifts his attention back to your computer when he notices the screen go black, and he's back to sitting up again.
"Damn." He tries fiddling with the mouse and keyboard again. "Guess that didn't work. I think this is a hardware issue now, but .." He turns to you with the same smirk he was sporting earlier when he was spitting out those compliments. "Since your computer is pretty old, I can't say it won't act up again if you get this serviced."
"So, you're saying a new computer is definitely the way to go." He nods.
"You deserve it." He stands as he reminds you. "You should think about getting a 38" monitor instead of having two. It's basically the equivalent and helps with productivity."
"What are some good ones?"
"I can send you some recs in a bit. I'm sorry you'll have to work from your laptop for now. But, whatever you order, I can help make sure it gets to you ASAP and I'll help set it up."
"Yunho." You slightly pout as he's slowly walking out of your cubicle.
"No but's. I got you." He looks down at his watch. "Anyway, gotta head back."
"See, don't tell me you have tons of stuff to catch up on now because of me?"
"I doooon't." He almost whines with a small laugh. He totally does. He's actually kinda swamped, but he made it over anyway because seeing you is nice. "See you later?" You nod and giggle. "I'll text you when I'm all wrapped up on my end."
"Okay. Thank you again."
"No worries." He playfully sends you a wink before walking off and out of the office area. Noeul finally comes creeping up to your cubicle, squealing at a low tone.
"Stop, he's so into you."
"Don't start." You bite onto your bottom lip as you continue to keep your eyes glued onto the tiny laptop screen.
"Where is he taking you? Did he say anything?"
"Nope. I am completely in the dark."
"Those are the best kinda dates. He's gonna take good care of you."
"I just wanna get out of here." You whine as your place your head down on your desk for a few minutes.
"You will! And the wait will be worth it!" You look up at her and let out a small sigh, nodding your head.
"You're right. Let me tackle all of this so I can get outta here sooner than later."
"And hang out with your man, yes!" She leans against your desk. "By the way, what'd he say about your computer?"
"Oh, this thing is done with. I need a new one. I'm just waiting for Yunho to send me some recs."
"Been telling you that."
"Well, it kept me going for some time." You pat the top of the monitor screen. "It was nice while it lasted."
"I love this for you, you know that? Upgrading your computer, your love life. This era is cute." You chuckle and shake your head.
"Go. I gotta get back to work." You push her along, making her giggle at how obviously flustered you are over the topic.
yunho: some recs for the boss lady!
You see Yunho's Slack message come in, along with links from the IT catalog.
yunho: this CPU should do you good, along with the 38". 😮‍💨
you: haha, thank you. 😊 i'll place my order right now!
yunho: can you send me your ticket number so i can keep an eye on it?
you: maybe....
yunho: ☹️☹️☹️☹️
you: you have too much other work to worry about!
yunho: including your ticket, yes!
you: you're unbelievable. 😂
yunho: you can always opt out for tonight (ouch) ..... 😖
you: never! lol. i'm excited actually. ☺️
yunho: i am, too.
You smile to yourself during the brief pause in between messages, unsure how to respond to Yunho without sounding like you're doing too much or saying something crazy. But, the Slack notification goes off again—
yunho: okay, i actually gtg and help jihoon with something.
yunho: seriously send me your ticket number after you're done, pls!
Pause.
yunho: can't wait to spend time with you, y/n.
And all that overthinking goes straight out the window.
you: same. 😌

Seora had a long day at school— her day filled with a bunch of tests and pop quizzes, damn near dragging herself out of the classroom and into the gym afterward. She happily talks with her friends as they change into their practice gear, joking around and being the typical girls they are as they get out onto the floor with their water bottles. After equal wins and losses, the coach decides to continue running and improving plays to push the team forward to the playoffs and hopefully, a championship win.
When practice wraps up, Seora grabs her things and finds her other favorite uncle talking to some of the parents outside of the gym; sweat still on her face, hair pulled back in a messy ponytail. When his eyes finally land on hers, he gives Seora's hair a good ruffle before taking her bags from her.
"Ace!"
"Uncle Mangi!" She copies his tone and laughs.
"How was practice?"
"Tiring. I'm pooped. I can barely feel my legs today."
"Working hard, atta girl. On our way to the WNBA." He tosses her bags in the backseat before hopping in. "Hope you don't mind, I gotta stop at the grocery store really quickly for our dinner."
"Only if I can grab some snacks."
"Course you can. Don't spoil your appetite for dinner, though. I'm gonna make some galbijjim."
"Yum! One of my faves."
"Exactly." He laughs. "How was school today?"
"The usual. Nothing too special."
"Nothing too special? Nothing happened at all?"
"Nope. Too many tests and pop-quizzes. I did get an A on my math test, though."
"That's something." She nods as she looks out the window.
"So, my dad's got another team dinner?"
"Mhm." He hums.
"Impossible."
"They've been working really hard on a lot of different things across the hospital lately. Helps relieve stress, I guess." One thing about Mingi is that he will never out Yunho the way Seonghwa unintentionally does. If Yunho's got a team dinner, Mingi will stick to the story down to the T. Maybe even throw in his own details and dramatics to make it more believable.
"He barely used to have team dinners."
"Well, maybe their goal was to have more!"
"Are you hiding something, Uncle Mangi? Cause Uncle Hwa accidentally spilled the beans last time and said dad was on a date."
"Why would your Uncle Hwa do that? Should I fight him?" Seora laughs and shakes her head. "He wasn't on a date."
"Uncle Mangi." He looks at her.
"Mhm?"
"Lying is bad."
"I'm not lying!" She continues to squint her eyes at him before finally giving up her case and settling back into the seat.
"Fine. What about you then, Uncle Mangi? What's new? How was your trip to Japan?"
"Nothing much. But, it was good. Nice to be in different sceneries from time to time."
"Dad keeps saying we'll tag along one day, but we haven't yet. I wanna go soon."
"I'll let him know, don't worry."
"They must have soooo much cute stuff. Don't they?"
"Lots." Mingi pulls up to the grocery store, driving into a spot near the entrance. "You'd definitely love it there."
"Where else have you been, Uncle Mangi?" She follows alongside of her towering uncle while he grabs a cart and heads into the store.
"Everywhere and nowhere all at the same time." She laughs.
"Seriously."
"One place I'll always remember is Switzerland. It's beautiful there. Probably one of my top places I've been to."
"I'm sure. I've only seen it in books, but it looks really pretty."
"It is. Those textbook pics definitely don't do it enough justice." Mingi sorts through the meat packages while Seora quickly wanders off into an aisle to grab her favorite chips and cookies. She drops it into the cart, with Mingi barely noticing.
"I have a random question for you."
"Try me."
"Do you think it's better to lock yourself up in a grocery store like this during a zombie apocalypse or keep it moving?"
"Well." Mingi continues to slowly walk down the aisles, making sure he doesn't miss any ingredients on his mental grocery list needed for tonight's dinner. "I'd say keep it moving."
"Why? You'd have everything in here."
"That's if no one raids the store, which would be impossible at that time. Plus, it can only keep you safe for so long before zombies find their way in or another group comes around. You could quite literally die before you even have a chance to try and survive."
"You'd have to take a break at some point though, right?"
"You could, but always best to keep it moving, ace. Never leave a trail for people."
"Okay, touchĂŠ."
"Cereal first or milk first?" Mingi suddenly asks as they go through the cereal section.
"Cereal."
"What? No. Did your dad teach you that?"
"What kind of planet are you living on? Isn't that how it normally is?" Mingi stops the cart and looks at her.
"Warm or cold milk then?"
"For cereal?" Mingi nods. "Cold?!"
"You and your weird ass dad." Seora laughs loudly. "Did anybody want a child? Cause this one is not mine—" Seora pinches her uncle's bicep, causing him to yelp as they push through the remaining aisles.
"You soggy cereal lover." Seora points out.
"That's literally the best way to have it."
"Ew, you're like eating mushed up cardboard." Mingi sighs.
"You're very lucky I love you and that your dad is my bestfriend or else I would've blocked him."
"You're so dramatic." She throws more snacks into the cart just as they're about to head to the registers.
"Any more snacks or you're good?"
"I'm good! I'm excited for dinner." Mingi laughs.
"I am, too. Too bad I gotta cook it first."
"You're a great cook, Uncle Mangi. I always enjoy the food you make." She tugs on his sleeve.
"I do try my best." She helps her uncle load the groceries onto the belt, pulling the cart towards the end to help bag up their things and throw it back in. Mingi taps his card to the reader before helping Seora with the heavier bags. Once they've gathered all their things, Mingi pushes the cart over to the car, loading it up in his trunk while Seora plops into the front seat. "Ready to head home?"
"Yeah, dying to shake a shower." Mingi starts up the car and begins the journey home.
"Yeah, you need it." He teases, causing Seora to lightly punch him on the arm.
"You're mean!"
"Kidding!" He laughs. "So, what's on the agenda tonight? We eat, you do homework. Watch some shows? Talk a walk around the neighborhood?"
"Sure, whatever floats your boat. I kinda have a bit of homework so I dunno about that walk. Plus, I'm pretty sore already."
"Okay, we'll play it by ear then." On the way home, Seora continues to tell Mingi about the staycation her father took her on and the new dog cafĂŠ they visited. She talks to him about her friends and how one of her friends started having a crush on one of the boys in their class. Mingi playfully gasps before lecturing her about boys and how icky they can be [coming from an honest heart]. But Seora laughs it off and tells her uncle that she's not really worried about that stuff.
All Mingi can say in response is 'you better not be.'
When the two finally get home, Mingi immediately sets himself up in the kitchen to get dinner going, while Seora throws her backpack down in the living room and heads straight to the shower. She takes a good, long shower before throwing on her pajamas and brushing through her wet hair. She sits on the living room floor and gets going with her homework while waiting for her uncle to finish cooking dinner.
Meanwhile, Yunho makes his way over to the peds hospital— happily stepping into the elevator to make his way back up to your office. When he gets there, he realizes most people have already clocked out and left for the day, only leaving you and a select few heads working away in the cubicles.
"Hey. Ready?" You smile as you look up at Yunho, sending one last meeting invite for next week before closing down your apps and shutting off your laptop.
"Yeah! I thought you were gonna text me so I could meet you halfway."
"Um, no." Yunho laughs. "I would much rather come get you so we can walk to the car together."
"That's sweet." You throw on your coat and slide the bag strap over your shoulder. "So, how was the rest of your day?"
"Good. Not too crazy, at least."
"Did the offers go out to the candidates you were planning on hiring?"
"Oh, yeah! They actually signed earlier this week and they'll be starting next week. They were able to get the background checks cleared out in time."
"Aw, that's awesome! You guys will finally get help."
"Yeah. It'll be busy for awhile getting them onboarded and trained."
"Yunho's gonna go MIA."
"Yunho is not gonna go MIA." He laughs.
"You sure about that?"
"Yeah, of course." He chuckles. "I'll always make time."
"You say that now."
"And I'll say it tomorrow, and the next day, and so on." He pinches your cheeks. "Don't trip." You smile feeling his warm touch against your skin. "Well, I didn't think it'd be so cold this evening. Are you okay with your coat and all? Is it enough?"
"It is."
"Okay, well just let me know. We'll be inside for the most part, but I want you to be comfortable."
"Thank you." You continue to walk alongside of Yunho until you get to his car. You give him the ins and outs of your day besides the whole computer issue that he tried to rescue you from while he grabs your bags and gently sets it in the trunk of his BMW and pops the door open for you. When you slide in and get comfortable, you notice how spotless his car is and how it smells like a hint of his cologne, along with laundry detergent and the fresh car smell. There are a few colorful hair ties lining the bottom of one of the cupholders, along with a hoodie in the backseat and a basketball. Yunho laughs and apologizes for Seora's mess— he also hasn't gotten a chance to bring in her things simply because he doesn't think much of it.
It almost feels like Seora is with him one way or another and he finds comfort in that.
On the drive over to dinner, he asks a bit about what other days look like for you and if you anticipate other big projects to come your way. You talk about a new project that was already mentioned to you by your manager, which involves remodeling one of the levels to a study/meeting area. You also tell Yunho it isn't a high priority, but you've already started the conversation with some of the facilities coordinators that can help rope in the appropriate vendors for certain tasks.
He transitions by telling you a few of the little projects he's been working on with his team, along with figuring out how to upgrade systems and all that jazz. You find that Yunho and his team are constantly working to support so many different departments, and it amazes you how well Yunho is able to delegate and keep himself afloat. You ask if he's ever had to work late because of really urgent issues and he says he's only had to do it once or twice— most can typically wait until the morning.
"Okay." He says, pulling into a tight, narrow street to start looking for parking. "We're here."
"I have no idea where we're at."
"Oh." Yunho laughs. "That's good then. More of a surprise for you. But, please keep your expectations down cause I didn't do much."
"Stop. Don't say things like that. I'll love it either way." Yunho smiles as he turns another corner and finds a spot right away. He parks flawlessly next to the curb, shutting off his car before turning back to you.
"Ready?" You nod quietly, watching as Yunho hops out and does a light jog over to open the door for you. You give him a smile and tug on your coat while Yunho locks his door and leads the way next to you, hand on the small of your back. The walk isn't too far, the restaurant being down on the opposite end of the street, across the block. To your surprise, Yunho brings you to one of the new conveyor belt sushi restaurants. He greets the host and he immediately takes you back to a little booth near the belt. It's snug enough to fit two people.
"I'm excited." You look at Yunho and he laughs.
"Same, I could eat. You like sushi, right? Please tell me I didn't fuck up." He looks concerned for a moment.
"No, no. I love sushi. I actually haven't had it in so long." You rearrange your set up so you can eat comfortably, the waiter taking your order for drinks. You both ask for water, but before the waiter can walk off, Yunho suddenly asks for two glasses of hot sake.
"Thank you." He says, giving the waiter a curt nod.
"Sake?"
"Our little celebration for getting through the week."
"Wow, okay. TouchĂŠ. I can get behind that." You look at him. "My birthday's coming up. You should come out with Mingi and Seonghwa. We're heading out to the club." You pause before shaking your head. "Or, actually, I'm being forced to go to the club to celebrate."
"Forced, hm?" He laughs. "That sounds fun, though. Send me the details. We'll definitely try to celebrate with you."
"Might be fun. We can be a fun group of people."
"Yeah?" Yunho likes that, you're down for things and he can tell you go with the flow. He likes someone who can just have fun with him. Someone who can just be with him; it wouldn't matter where they go or where their relationship takes them.
"Mhm. And I can tell you guys are fun." You laugh. "Seora must love having you as her dad."
"I hope so." Yunho laughs along. "By the way, feel free to start digging in." He gestures towards the moving conveyor belt and you happily start exploring your options as they come— taking a fresh plate of salmon nigiri to start off. The waiter quickly comes back with two glasses of hot sake, making Yunho smirk at you. He sets his chopsticks down and slides your glass over, raising his while you take yours. "Cheers? For getting through the week."
"Cheers!" You say cheerfully, tapping your glass against his before taking some of the hot sake down your throat. It burns, but the heat brings more warmth to your body on this cold evening. "Speaking of Seora, where is she right now now?" You drink a bit more before taking another plate off the belt.
"Spending time with her Uncle Mingi."
"That's cute." Yunho grabs a few plates and sets them aside while he decides which one he'll tackle first.
"She had practice and I had him go pick her up. I think they were heading to the grocery store to buy some ingredients for dinner before heading home last time he texted me."
"What did you tell her?"
"Mm." He hums. "I hope you don't take it personally or anything, but I told her it was a team dinner."
"No, of course not."
"I just, yeah." He chuckles a bit. "It's just easier to go with that."
"I believe it." The both of you continue to eat away at the sushi, small, empty plates piling up on the side of the table. Small conversations continue about day-to-day life; you and your friends, what you've been doing for yourself lately. Suddenly, you dwell on the fact that you don't know much about Yunho besides his day-to-day life with Seora and work. You know about his friends, his coworkers. But, you don't know anything deeper about his personal life.
His parents.
You didn't wanna be nosy and pry, but you wondered why his parents weren't the ones watching Seora.
Was it too much of you to ask?
Was this considered a real date if you two weren't trying to get to know each other? What were the boundaries?
"Yunho?"
"What's up?"
"Can I ask you something more personal?"
"Anything."
"I hope I'm not crossing boundaries here, but what about your parents? How come they don't watch Seora?"
"You're not crossing any boundaries." Yunho reassures you, but shakes his head before dipping into his next plate of sushi. "Uh, it's complicated. Things kinda just fell apart when Eunha passed." You slowly nod. "When my parents found out Eunha was pregnant, they didn't want us to continue with the pregnancy cause we were, what? 20 years old when we found out? Still in the midst of college. But, that's not what we wanted. They almost got to Eunha but we pushed through in the end and we had Seora. It was really hard for a long, long time, but Seora was worth every bit of it. My parents obviously didn't like the fact that we went against their wishes, so they kept their distance. It's been that way ever since, even when Eunha passed. I think it got worst, actually. Plus, I never had the best relationship with them from the get-go. They only see Seora once in a blue moon. They're the grandparents that just send the occasional bouts of money, birthday and holidays cards. Seora always wonders about them, but I can never give her an answer as to why her grandparents aren't around."
"I'm sorry, Yunho."
"Don't be sorry." Yunho smiles a bit.
"W-what about Eunha's parents?" You wanna ask about Eunha too, but you know this isn't the time.
"Uh, they're the same. They—" He pauses. "They cut off ties when she passed because it was too hard for them."
"Oh. Yunho." You say sympathetically, feeling incredibly bad for having brought it up in the first place. "I really am sorry. I didn't mean to be such a debbie downer during dinner."
"No, it's okay. I promise. I've.. gotten used to it at this point. It used to be hard for me, but I've accepted everything."
"Still doesn't mean it doesn't get hard for you."
"I've learned to manage." He gives you a tiny, toothless smile.
"I hope you know you're doing an amazing job balancing everything and for being a great father to Seora."
"Thanks."
"I'm also glad you have Seonghwa and Mingi."
"Me too." He laughs. "They're a pain in my ass, but they're my bestfriends. I don't think I would have been able to get through a lot without them. And they're good to Seora."
"That's good, I'm glad." You eat a bit more before you feel yourself getting content and full.
"Full?"
"Damn near. I think I ate too fast." You chuckle. "I'm almost done with my sake."
"Bottoms up?" You nod, tapping your glass against his before the both of you take it to the neck. Yunho finishes up a few more plates before he sits back and gulps his water down, causing you to giggle to yourself. "Fuck, I'm full. Overdid it, for sure."
"Was worth every bit of it, though. Maybe we should walk it off?"
"Yeah. Let's head to the next stop. I think you'll like it. And we'll get our steps in." He pulls his wallet out of his pocket, calling the waiter over.
"Can I split with you?"
"Absolutely not." Yunho says, handing over his card directly to him.
"You're already driving me everywhere and taking me to another location after this. The least I can do is chip in."
"Nope. The least you can do is just enjoy yourself with me tonight." He smiles sweetly just as he grabs the receipt handed to him by the waiter, signing off and tucking his own copy swiftly into his pocket before looking at you.
"Couldn't even let me see the receipt."
"Nope." He repeats and stands. "Ready to go, pretty girl?" You feel the heat rise to your cheeks as you stand and nod, leading the way out of the restaurant with Yunho in tow. He answers your questions on the way to the car, giving you hints about the next location. It still leaves you stumped in the end, deciding to let Yunho continue taking matters into his own hands with you. He opens the door like the gentleman he is, slipping into the driver's seat as he rubs his hands together and immediately turns the heat on when he starts the car. "All good? Too hot?"
"Just perfect."
"Good." You sit back comfortably as Yunho sets off for the next destination for tonight. "So, how was the sushi? Be honest."
"It was so good!" He looks at you when he comes to a red light, almost as if he's trying to read you, really read you, and you giggle. "What?"
"Just making sure."
"That I'm not lying?"
"Maybe." You laugh even more.
"I would never. If I didn't enjoy it, I would've given an honest review."
"Mmkay, I believe you." He laughs. "I want you to have a good night with me."
"I am already." You look at him with a soft expression. "And I'm sure the next part to this will be just as fun. If not, more. I trust you."
"Do you?"
"I do." Yunho smiles, wanting to hold your hand so badly while he drives. But, he doesn't. He holds back. He feels like there could be a better opportunity.
One that'll feel right and set the mood for the remainder of the night.
For this entirely.
After a good 20 minutes of driving down south, Yunho exits off the freeway and takes an immediate right down towards a large-sized building with all modern exterior designs. He parks in the lot next to it, doing his gentleman deed of helping you out of the car and leading you towards the beautiful building.
It's one of the city's biggest museums, and the event they're hosting for a couple of weeks is called Spirit House. It focuses on Asian American and Asian diasporic artists that are showcasing art pertaining to horror, spirits, haunted houses, reincarnation, different dimensions and other themes along those lines. You continue to read the pamphlet before Yunho looks at you with a small smile on his face.
"Wanna walk around?" You nod.
"How'd you know I'd be into this stuff?"
"It sounded cool, so why not?"
"You're good, Jeong Yunho." You giggle and continue into the first part of the exhibit. The atmosphere is dark and dim, the artwork on the walls screaming afterlife. Death. Souls. Horror, fear. You're so intrigued that you find yourself slowly moving from work to work; trying to take in all the details of the images in front of you. You didn't even realize Yunho had been watching you from behind, snapping photos every chance he could before moving onto the next room to get a preview of what's to come.
"Hey." Yunho says from behind you. "Wanna show you something in the next room."
"Okay." You look down at the hand he puts out, waiting for you to take it. You gently slide your hand in his, fingers intertwining before he guides you to the next exhibit and it feels incredibly natural. It's a room full of mini fixtures— almost like miniature set-ups of old fashioned homes and other buildings. He shows you one that has the artist's own adaptation of Junji Ito characters spread across levels of an old, haunted house.
"Oh my god, I love it." You peek down to get a closer look, hand still laced with Yunho's. "I love Junji Ito. And the work in the other room reminded me of Takato Yamamoto. It's amazing."
"Made for you." You chuckle, tugging him along as you both look at the next miniature setups alongside of it. Yunho doesn't even mind one bit. He's enjoying the exhibit, but he's enjoying it even more with you here— holding his hand every step of the way. You snap a few photos of the art before Yunho directs you to stand near one of the exhibits where the lighting falls on you perfectly. He takes a few more photos— more candid ones from behind you especially— just so you have photos to look back at when you wanna reminisce on your first date with him.
The next room of the exhibit is an interactive light show; the  room is completely dark, with different lights projecting things around the room. The background music is mysterious, creepy; fitting the vibe all together. You continue to walk with Yunho while snapping photos of your silhouettes in the mirrors. Yunho gets silly and makes a bunch of poses, making you laugh loudly in the process. At one point, you've found yourself standing near the corner of the room, watching all the lights come together to project a beautiful show onto the walls. Yunho comes next to you, admiring the same view— but you, mainly. You look up at him to tell him how amazing the event is, but he's already looking down at you with fondness and endearment sprinkled in his big brown orbs.
You almost.. wanna kiss him.
But, you shake off the thought quickly by dragging him to the next exhibits— loosely holding his hand throughout the rest of the event.
Too bad he would've kissed you back, had you known.
No, he needs to be a gentleman and he needs to do right by you, Yunho thinks. He can't just kiss you on the first date or else he runs the risk of you thinking he only wants you for one thing.
Like Ara; but, that situation is a little different.
"Yunho! That was so fun." You smile at him the way you do, and it melts his heart. "Thank you for taking me to this."
"Of course. I think it ends after the weekend, so perfect timing." You quickly scroll through some of the pictures you took. "I'll send you the pictures I have later."
"Okay." You look at the buskers on the opposite end of the street, along with a food cart nearby. "Yunho, let's go check it out really quickly!"
"I'm down." He nods, noticing it's only about to hit 10pm. Seora must be waiting for him, but he knows she'll sleep until he gets there and Mingi hasn't made a peep. He feels like he's in the clear.
He holds your hand tightly as you both cross the street safely, stopping near the food cart first while lightly bouncing to the live music nearby.
"Want a snack?" You nod and cling onto his arm.
"I could use one. Museum took up my energy." He laughs. Yunho buys some custard-filled bungeoppang for you two to snack on while observing the buskers. You bounce along next to him and he starts to dance in his own way, making you laugh at how cute he's being with you. You snap a few photos of him that you'll share later, not knowing Yunho had a bunch of your photos to share as well.
You and Yunho sing along to some familiar songs before the buskers end the first half of their performance for a tiny break.
"That was cool. They did really well!"
"They were so good!" You toss in some cash into the guitar case. "And I didn't know you could sing!"
"I— no." Yunho laughs.
"I wanna hear more of your singing." You pout as you tug on his arm on the way back to the car.
"Maybe."
"Yunho." You whine and he laughs.
"I promise you it's nothing that great."
"Very much the opposite of what I think, just so you know." He stands by the passenger door, allowing you to hop in but he doesn't close the door right away. He stands and looks at you and there's something in his eyes that you can't really read.
"I hope you enjoyed it."
"I did. A lot." He licks his lips, and you can tell he's having the same internal battle you had not too long ago in the light exhibit. But, he brushes it off by tapping the door frame before shutting your door gently and hopping into his seat.
The drive home is as expected; with you and Yunho talking about your similar music tastes this time and Yunho being a bit more open about his vocals. You look at him as he sings a tune or two, explaining that his dad is the one with the vocals in the family. You tease that next time, you two should go to a karaoke bar to end the night and he smirks.
At least you're thinking about next time's just like he is, too.
When he pulls up to your apartment, you find yourself not wanting to part from him. You know he has to go home to Seora though, and it breaks your heart knowing she's been waiting for her dad to come home. You step out of the car and tug on your coat, the night colder than it was a few hours ago.
"Welp, this is me." You both look at the apartment building, with Yunho tucking his hands into his pockets.
"Let me walk you up."
"No, it's okay. I promise it's right there." You point at your apartment before chuckling and turning to him completely. "Goodnight, Yunho. Thank you for tonight. I had a lot of fun."
"You're welcome, Y/N." He watches as you lean in to give him a kiss on the cheek. He blushes, and he loves the initiation, but he freezes. Completely.
"I'll see you next week, hm? Get home safely." You smile toothlessly at him before turning on your heel to walk up to your unit. Just as you're about to make it up the steps, Yunho is chasing after you with long strides, causing you to turn and raise a brow. "Did I leave something?"
"Mm, maybe." He says with a tiny smirk on his face. Suddenly, his large, warm hands come up to cup your cheeks— lips capturing yours in a sweet goodnight kiss. "Goodnight." You smile up at him as his thumb caresses the surface of your right cheek.
"Night." He steps back, biting his bottom lip to prevent himself from smiling too big. He lingers around until he sees you successfully slip into your unit and hears the door shut close.
What he doesn't see is the way you squeal and dig your face into your hands, incredibly giddy and happy from the turn of events.
You really liked Yunho.
And he does, too.
So much that the smile doesn't even fade when he pulls up to the house, Mingi's car leaving enough room for him to park in his usual spot. Yunho can see the faint flickering of the TV lights through the kitchen window, and he knows Seora is probably on the couch waiting for his arrival.
When he steps through the door, Mingi is placing some food into the fridge before returning his attention to the remaining dishes in the sink. He quietly greets his bestfriend before nodding towards the couch— signaling that Seora had fallen asleep while waiting.
"Has it been long?" Yunho asks lowly.
"A bit, yeah. She said practice was exhausting today." Yunho chuckles before crouching down in front of the couch and brushing her hair back.
"Ace." Her eyes slowly flicker open.
"Oh, finally. You're back." He laughs.
"Let's get to bed, hm?" She sleepily nods, sitting up before walking to her bedroom. "Say bye to uncle Mingi."
"Love you, ace!" Mingi calls out as he watches her sleepily walk across the living room.
"Love you too. Goodnight." She mutters and lazily waves before dragging herself into her room and shutting the door. It isn't long before Yunho sees her shut off the lights, causing him to turn the volume down on the TV before helping Mingi clean up.
"So, how was it?" Yunho smiles.
"Good." He avoids eye contact as he blushes, setting the dry dishes into the cabinet.
"Good?"
"Yeah."
"Meaning?" Mingi rests against the corner before smirking at him. " I have time."
"I really, really like her."

Echoes of Silence | E is for Edging
⤡ Ft. Dazai Osamu
V. A. L. E. N. T. I. N. E.
Warnings | Fem!Reader, N.SFW, 18+ only, edging, slight mind break, unprotected sex, creampie, cockwarming, WC: 1k
A/N: Idk why but I struggled so hard with writing this one, I hope it came out just as well as the rest did <3
Tumblr media
Dazai had been clingy all day, performatively so. You could sense that something was off, even for Dazai the dramatics were a little much. But trying to pry it out of him was never an option, so when he asked to come over you were simply resigned to accepting.
It has been what feels like hours since Dazai came over to your dorm and each passing second is becoming even more agonizing than the last. Dazai is toying with both of you tonight. He was quick to strip you of your clothes and have his way with you before the front door even fully shut. His desperate hands exploring your skin with urgency.
Nightly visits like these usually only last about an hour, maybe two, but tonight is definitely different. It’s been almost three hours and Dazai isn’t letting either one of you finish. You’ve been on the edge for probably two and half of those hours and it’s torture.
This is cruel and unusual punishment and it’s all Dazai’s fault.
Every time one of you is about to come he slows down or pulls out completely only to distract you by kisses. His lips sear every inch of your body. Dazai gives you absolutely no time to protest or to rest. It gives you each only a few moments before he’s diving into you again with the same agonizing pace he’s set, slower and harder than usual.
You're a mess, your brain has been turned to mush and the only coherent thought you’ve managed to keep intact is the need to release. Your ability to speak is in the same condition. Pleas of your need to release spilling from your swollen lips, but they fall on deaf ears because Dazai clearly has no plans of granting any of your requests.
The brunette is too caught up in his own need to release. He isn’t just torturing you, but himself too. He can’t rip his eyes away from the way your glistening sloppy cunt sucks him in and keeps a vice grip hold. He’s not sure where the self control is coming from but he barely manages to keep this up. The only thing keeping him from letting you finally cum is the thought of having to go back to his dorm and spend the rest of this night alone with his own thoughts.
He’d be damned if he let that happen when your company is so, so much sweeter than his own.
Even now, your incoherent words sound like music to his ears. “‘Samu…’Samu, please. I can't- ‘s too much- ahh- I need to- oh my god- I need to cum, please, please…”
It’s getting harder for Dazai to deny you and he thinks he’s on the verge of giving in. Even so, Dazai’s movement instinctively slows down and you let out a hiccuped sob. He looks down at you and he really thinks he’s gonna lose all senses. You are a beautiful mess — a devastatingly beautiful mess. Your hair is matted down on your face from a mix of tears and sweat. Your eyes rimmed red from the amount of crying you’ve done. Skin flushed the prettiest pink color and marks littered your body, courtesy of Dazai himself.
In the split moment it takes for the agent to admire you, clearly distracted, you wrap your legs around his waist. It’s your desperate attempt to keep him close and finally give you what you’ve been begging him for. As if Dazai’s conviction hadn’t already been crumbling, this was the final blow to send it crashing all the way.
Dazai picks up his speed and crashes his lips into your own as you both finally find that release you’ve been chasing for hours. Your room is filled with muffled moans mixed together and the wet sound of Dazai’s hips crashing into yours before stilling completely and spilling inside of you. Everything is dizzy and Dazai can’t form a single thought. His mind is filled with fog and his ears stuffed with cotton. Nothing is registering but the white hot pleasure pooling in his stomach and spreading through his entire body like electricity.
His length throbs inside of you with each release of his seed that he’s pouring into you. The build up made his plummet last longer than it usually would. His whole body twitches, already hypersensitive and he hasn’t even completely finished inside of you yet. Dazai’s vision focuses and you’re in no better shape. Your eyes are still screwed shut and your body is borderline convulsing. The tight grip you have around both his waist and his cock keeps him from pulling away from you at all.
When you’ve both come down, the brunette can’t bring it in himself to get up to clean himself and leave. Instead he collapses into your hold, laying face down into your chest. By the sound of your breathy chuckle and the way you begin to run your fingers through his hair, despite it being wet from sweat, Dazai can tell you’ve come back to reality.
Dazai shifts, making an effort to pull away but the action is stiff. He doesn’t want to leave but he knows if he doesn’t, he will be overstaying his welcome. Your hold on him, however, doesn't falter and you let out a soft hum.
“Stay.” Dazai’s head shoots up at that and he just stares at you for a few moments. You’re visibly nervous and start to elaborate when you really don’t need to because Dazai was already sold by the single syllable. “It’s later than usual and I really don’t mind the company. Also your body must be exhausted.”
Dazai tries to widen his eyes in shock but the detective’s eyelids become too heavy for him to keep open anymore and he wordlessly resigns. His head drops back to your chest — this time he makes sure to make himself more comfortable on top of you. He decides to stay nestled in between your thighs even though he’s softened now.
Dazai doesn’t respond, but he doesn’t think he has to, his body language is enough to tell you he’s not going anywhere.

Hi. I have seen a nerdjo fanart and went a little insane.
I specifically saw this art--
Tumblr media
and like LJKHFGLKJSHLDFKhGKLSD i know its satosugu or some kind of self insert bUT HEAR ME OUT OKAY--
the thought of a nerdjo nanago where GOJO is the straightlaced person in the relationship while NANAMI is the "bad influence" rough and tough bad guy iS SO GOOD TO MEEEEEEE
BECAUSE LIKE--
we all collectively hc nanami as being some kind of emo punk in hs or at the very least got into some bullshit during his uni/college years when he got out of juju tech and this is just its Natural Conclusion OKAY-- IM NOT INSANE BUT I WILL ADMIT THAT I AM GOING FERAL
Because like-- imagine a college au where gojo and nanami are assigned to be each others tutors in their respective fields (gojo with physics and nanami in economics). Gojo is painting this picture of a mean, money focused economics student that would rather look at the stock market than entertain theoretical physics, a subject that wont really affect his life before meeting him
But then they actually meet each other for their study session for the first time and oh god gojos never felt this gay before-- other than the time that gojo discovered he was gay, dear LORD he didnt feel that bad before KJLGSDGDL
Because while yeah, nanami did show up rockin the stereotypical hoity toity econ student fit-- glasses, collared shirt, watch, shined shoes-- he didnt expect him to be built like a brick shithouse, okay. And even as he fell back on his tried and true method of getting back into focus (which is breaking things down using physics to figure out how they interact with the world), even that failed because he started wondering about the physics of fabrics and how they didnt rip yet from such huge rippling muscles
He does manage to get through the tutoring lesson safely and, thank god it was the physics lesson first because if he had to sit there listening to nanamis voice talk about literally anything for extended periods of time, he may turn into a puddle. As gojo packs up, both his materials and his thoughts that are steering WILDLY into inappropriate territory, he resigns himself into being the fushiguros babysitter for the next 3 weeks because cleaning up baby diapers are the fastest way to get rid of a boner and he cant be popping those everytime hes around nanami
So imagine gojos surprise when nanami hesitates a bit before he leaves. "Are you busy tonight?" "...what?" "Are you busy tonight." "Uhm..."
Is this it? Is his 1 to 2 hour long crush discovered? Is nanami actually straight, found out his gayness, and decided to destroy him????
"...I noticed you didn't have anything down on your planner. A friend of mine got sick, so now im kind of going alone to this concert." "...Oh! Aren't you gonna--" "Sell the ticket? No, its... not really a concert, its an underground diy venue. its more live music in a bar, than an actual concert you buy tickets to. you get to find a lot of small starting artists. its pretty good." "...so youre saying is, there's no ticket to sell?"
gojo's breath hitches, as his deep chuckle graces his ears. "yeah, no tickets." his face is warm, and he has no idea if it shows. nanamis eyes tear themselves away from wherever they roamed and met his again. "you wanna come?" "y-yeah! yeah sure, im down."
he really fumbled the delivery on that one, but thank god nanami seems to like clumsy people because that just widened the small smile on his face. "that's good. see you 8 down at the lawsons?" "8 at the lawsons, yeah sure okay--" a nod, a grin, and he walks off.

Logan X Fem! Reader - I'm Gonna Take Care Of You

Summary : There's a fight and you get hurt, Logan comforts you.
Tags/Warnings : a little bit of violence ? Hurt/comfort
Word count : 811
Masterlist
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆
"This time i get to choose, please"
"Alright doll, what do you want to watch tonight ?"
You browse through the dvd's on the shelf next to the tv. Logan, sipping on his beer on the sofa.
"How about this one ?" You show him the movie you picked
"Anything you want, just get the dvd ready so you can come back in my arms"
You smile and do as he says. You sit next to him and he wraps his arms around you. Your head on his chest, you can feel his fingers playing with your hair.
Logan lowers the volume of the tv. At this time of the night, everybody in the school is asleep. Except for a few teachers.
As the movie plays, you're both eating snacks, Logan still taking sips of his beer.
His finger gently tracing up and down your arm, giving you goosebumps. It's a quiet and relaxing night, just how you love it.
A sound suddenly makes you two jump out of the sofa. Logan, focusing in the sound, realise that it's actually footsteps. A lot of footsteps. Someone broke into the school.
He puts his arm out in front of you, ordering you to stay back, but you follow him quietly. You tiptoe around the room, looking for the intruders but you don't see anybody.
The footsteps are getting closer, so close you can hear them.
"Logan what's going on ?" Storm and Scott just entered the room
"Someone's here" he uses his senses to try and find their exact location.
"This room, they're coming from this room" he whispered.
Logan, Storm and Scott are all in front of you. You try to stay as close to them as possible.
"Hands on your head" Someone from behind you shouted.
"i won't say it again" he points his gun at you, four other armed men come in the room and point guns at Logan, Storm and Scott.
"You don't want to do this" Storm tried to get closer to you, so does Logan.
You can feel Logan's hand on your arm, trying to pull you closer to him. You feel as the whole thing is happening in slow motion. Like you can't think at all. Your breath is heavy.
As the fight finally breaks, the room is filled with chaos. Blood spilled on the walls as Logan uses his claws against them. A gunshot is heard, making everyone in the room stop fighting.
One of the men moved behind you and shot you.
"NO" Logan shouted, he takes you in his arms before you fall on the floor. Storm and Scott still fighting the other men. Your eyes are closed but you're still conscious, still hearing what's happening.
Storm grabs your arm, asking Logan to let you go as she promises to take you to the infirmary. She takes you into her arms and you can hear Logan's rage. You know how he is when he is like this, and you know he will fight like an animal. Killing every last one of them in the most violent way possible.
As the sounds of the fight are getting further and your body weaker you can feel yourself go. Your last thought being Logan's arms around you on the sofa.
*************
The sounds of the machine, a bright light on the ceiling. It's all you hear and see as you slowly wake up, your body still weak. you try to get up but you feel a hand on your shoulder, stopping you.
"Hey, you're awake" Jean is checking your heartrate and your wound, making sure you're okay.
"Don't get up yet, your body is still recovering. Good news is the bullet just grazed you so there's not too much damage you're gonna be okay"
"Where's.."
"Logan ?, just outside, Storm is talking to him"
You hear the door of the infirmary open. Logan taking your hand.
"She's gonna be okay, i just need you to make sure she rests"
"Sure, thank you" Logan smiles at you, relieved that you're okay. You still see some blood on his arm.
He takes you in his arm goes up in your bedroom. He gently puts you in the bed, putting the blanket over you. He sits on a chair next to you and takes your hand in his.
The warmth of his smile makes you feel so comforted and loved.
He places a gentle kiss on your forhead
"I'm gonna take care of you, i promise, i'm so sorry"
"It's not your fault Logan"
"I'm gonna make sure you're okay and stick with you forever, i'm gonna be with you so much you're gonna get sick of me"
You laugh even though you wound is hurting
"get sick of you ? not a chance"
He plays with your hair as you slowly fall asleep in the bed, feeling his reassuring presence next to you.

collegeroommate!vi comforting you
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing! collegeroommate!vi x reader
about! you once again got stood up for a date, and your best friend vi was here to help
cw! literally just fluff (i can’t stop guys i love it)
word count! 458
an: im thinking this is only gonna be part one, idk i like this concept though
Tumblr media
you and vi were best friends and college roommates. sure, when you first moved in it was a bit rocky, but now? connected at the hip, two peas in a pod, any analogy you could think of. there was just one problem- well, with you. no matter how hard you tried, your dating life was horrible! if you didn’t get stood up for a date, they’d just try and take you home for a quick hook up. and tonight was unfortunately no different. here you were, once again, crying on the couch while vi tried to comfort you, mascara streaming down your face. you really thought this was going to be a good date, or maybe you were just naive. tonight you were supposed to go out with Maddie Nolen, who you thought was a pretty nice girl. apparently not, because she never came to pick you up. not even a phone call or text. the nerve of some people!
“i mean- what am i doing wrong? it’s… it’s just her stupid problem! just like the rest of them!” your spoke in between sobs, your voice quivering and broken.
by now vi knew what you needed when you got stood up- someone to rant to and something warm. she rubbed your back in slow, soothing circles, trying her best to soften the force of your cries. vi absolutely hated seeing you like this, always expecting a picture perfect romance just for reality to hit you like a freight train.
vi’s voice was low and consoling, “hey, come on now. you aren’t doing anything wrong. it’s just… people don’t want romance like the way you want. plus, you don’t need a stupid girlfriend to keep you happy, yea? you got your bestie right here.”
vi pulled you a bit closer on her chest, resisting the urge to lean down and kiss your forehead. she really didn’t know what was happening to her lately. every time she’d comfort you after a failed date, there was a different type of ache in her chest. obviously she was upset for you, but now… she didn’t know what to make of it. vi would stay up late on nights like that, endlessly scrolling on her phone when she should be sleeping, trying to dislodge the look of desperation and sadness on your face. and then the tiny smile after you stopped crying. come on- this was her roommate for crying out loud. her best friend. she wouldn’t… there couldn’t be… maybe… maybe vi’s feelings went beyond the kind friend she was to you, the shoulder you’d always run to cry on. but for now, she couldn’t think of that. her main goal was being with you, consoling you, and being a good friend.

based on this concept of steve and mike coming out to each other
🤍 also on ao3
The sun is setting in beautiful hues of pink and purple, tinging the town of Hawkins, Indiana, in a light of serenity and beauty it doesn’t really deserve. Steve’s hands are gripped tight around the steering wheel as he carefully scans the road and the houses he passes.
He almost misses the bike where it’s lying on the curb, carelessly discarded by the looks of it, and a tinge of worry shadows his frown. Worry that doesn’t quite dissipate when he spots the figure sitting on the roof, almost black against the lilac colour of the sky, but he breathes a sigh of relief. He considers grabbing the radio to let the others know he found Mike, but decides against it. Something tells him that maybe they’ll take a while. Something tells him there’s more to Will’s stunned silence and Mike’s sudden departure from where they were all hanging out at Steve’s after another successful Hellfire session.
With a sigh, Steve cuts the engine and gets out of the car, keeping his eyes on Mike the whole time — ready for him to take off again, ready to go sit a while and wait for him to come back. But Mike doesn’t move, even after he shuts the door and approaches the Wheelers’ house. He doesn’t acknowledge Steve when he pulls himself up to the roof, easier this time than the first time he did this.
There’s a snide comment in the air between them, a version of Mike that would have lashed out at him, made fun of and insulted him. But this one just sits there, hands in his lap, frown on his face, and stares ahead.
“What do you want,” he asks eventually, though it doesn’t have the kind of heat that Steve expects. He barely even sounds like a teenager. Just sort of… dejected. Steve aches for him; just a little bit.
“Just making sure you’re alright,” Steve says, shrugging, looking ahead as well so Mike doesn’t feel watched. Or seen, maybe.
Because the thing is, Steve does see him. He sees the way he looks at Will sometimes, and the way his eyes fill with something that can only be described as yearning, or aching, followed by regret and fear. Which always, always turn into anger. Into frustration. Into snide comments and rolled eyes and walls that keep getting an inch added to them each day. It’s never directed at Will, that anger, and rarely at the rest of the Party, but Steve still sees it. Gets the worst of it and takes it, because he knows something about how that feels.
He knows something about looking at someone like that, about feeling that fear, that regret, that worry that come with it. He knows something about never really daring to meet someone’s eyes for fear of what they would see.
“I’m alright,” Mike says, sounding anything but. There’s a bitterness in his voice. Frustration in the way his thumb is picking at the skin of his fingers. Confusion in the tension of his shoulders, and Steve feels like he only needs to make one wrong move, say one wrong word, make a single sound that’s off key to the melody of this moment, and Mike will jump off the roof and take off again with his bike.
So all he says, after a moment’s consideration, is, “Cool.” Like he believes him. Giving Mike room to breathe, room to pretend. He knows something about that, too.
He knows and he sees and he feels.
And suddenly he wants to say something he’s never said before, something he didn’t even get to tell Robin because she knew and saw and felt, too, taking something from him that he hasn’t yet been ready to reclaim for himself.
And maybe it’s because he sees something of himself in the way Mike holds himself, in the way he snaps at anyone willing to listen, in the way he frowns in regret and barely meets anyone’s eyes except when it’s in challenge — and, most of all, in the way he never, never meets Will’s eyes. In the way he looks away when the other boy turns to him, and in the way his eyes will snap back and take in everything about his best friend when he’s not aware of it.
Maybe it’s because the sky is pink and lilac and purple above them, allowing for a certain magic to happen, allowing for a bravery that doesn’t come easy to him; but as he sits on the roof next to Mike Wheeler, the only one of the Party he never really connected with, he closes his eyes against the breeze that catches in his hair and opens his jacket a little further, slithering beneath the fabric as if in a brief embrace, a nudge, a sign to take this leap, and takes a deep breath.
His heart is picking up its pace inside his chest, taking this leap along wit him, and pulls up one of his legs to wrap his hands around it — just to have something to hold onto.
He opens his mouth once, twice, three times, but the words never really come out. They don’t know how, and he’s beginning to tremble a little with it, tension building in his chest where the words are still locked away, hidden among layers of truth.
Mike looks over with a frown and eyes him warily. It makes Steve want to laugh, this sudden change of pace, but he just keeps staring ahead; even when Mike asks, “Are you alright?”
“Yeah,” Steve says. And then then dam is broken and breaking further, and with another deep breath, still not meeting Mike’s eyes, instead focusing on the tree tops in the distance that shine in hues of purple, he finally says, “I’m kind of dating Eddie Munson.”
And just like that, it’s out. He’s out.
He doesn’t know if the world still spins, if time still passes, if he still breathes, because for a moment there is only silence. Mike stops picking at the skin of his fingers, Steve stops trembling, and neither of them moves.
It’s both anticlimactic and momentous, this silence between them when their eyes meet. When the words unfold and grow wings, when Mike understands, his eyes growing big with something that Steve can’t quite read with how tense he is despite his best efforts.
The silence stretches between them, surpassing comfort and overstaying its welcome, and suddenly it’s Steve who feels like he’s about to take off if Mike so much as twitches his brows.
“You… What?”
Forget it, Steve wants to say. Nothing.
But also, I’m in love with Eddie Munson. And I used to be in love with Nancy. And that’s okay. Both of that, it’s okay.
He ends up repeating his words, though, because they know what it’s like to be spoken now. “Eddie. I’m kind of dating Eddie.”
“But…” It’s Mike now whose mouth is opening and closing without saying anything. Mike who’s blinking, trembling a little, twitching, picking at his skin again, moving further along his hand this time to pinch the skin between his thumb and pointer finger. Steve almost reaches out to stop him, but he doesn’t really dare to.
“But?” he prompts after a while, not quite comfortable with this loaded kind of silence.
“Eddie’s a boy.”
But Tammy Thompson is a girl.
“I know,” Steve says, his tone carefully neutral, wanting to see, to wait where Mike takes this, to hear what’s on his mind, to watch the wheels turn and the gears shift. He feels awfully raw and open, vulnerable with someone who hasn’t been treating that with care yet. But there’s something about this moment that feels bigger than his own fears, bigger than the light nausea settling in his gut; far more important than the way he wants to run and hide, away from the scrutiny.
“And…” Mike continues, still battling the words inside his head. Steve wonders if there are too many or none at all. “But you… You loved Nancy.”
Ah. Smart boy. “I did,” Steve says with a small smile. “And it was never a lie. But I found that… Yeah, I can kinda like boys, too, y’know? And that’s, like, okay.”
A beat. A frown. A confused, hopeful, small, “It is?”
Steve just nods, smiling in reassurance and relief at equal measures. Silence settles once more, now that the sky has darkened into a deeper, darker blue; but it’s not as loaded this time, not as tense. It’s an invitation. An offering. A promise of I’m here, I’m with you, you can take as long as you need. To get down from the roof, to come back, to come out of wherever you think you need to hide from the world.
Mike takes it. He stays, pulling up his leg, too, mirroring Steve’s pose and staring ahead, but not as far away. He seems alert, seems to be thinking rather than dwelling, seems to be gearing up for something. Steve watches and sees and knows, remaining patient beside him, his chin resting on his knee as Mike learns to deal with this new world that has been presented to him. This new world that comes with opportunities and chances and possibilities that are scary and big and difficult to make.
“Y’know,” Mike starts at last, interrupting the silence, playing with it, his voice hushed and quiet to keep it from disappearing completely. “Lucas, when he had that championship game? He told us, Dustin and me, that we didn’t have to be the losers this time. The nerds. The outcasts. Different. And all I wanted was to scream at him, because…”
Mike swallows his words, keeping them from tumbling out of his mouth, and Steve aches for him again. He wants to reach out, wants to say it’s okay, tell him it’s alright, to take his time. But he waits in silence, lets Mike find the bravery he needs on his own, and waits.
“Because how could he say that, you know? How could he, when… Will wasn’t there. And all I did, all I ever did anymore, was miss him. And I loved El, I knew I did. And she was gone, too, but…”
He trails off again, and this time Steve picks it up. To let him know he’s not alone. To let Mike know he understands what he’s saying. He understands. “But she’s not Will. You needed Will.”
“But I shouldn’t!” Mike explodes suddenly, riled up because Steve adds fuel to the fire, because Steve has that same fire, too; and because they are so, so similar when they want to be. “And now he’s back and it should be fine, I shouldn’t be feeling like this, it doesn’t even make sense! How can I…”
Steve looks at him, at his expression that is nothing but lost — completely and utterly. He’s seen it on the bathroom floor at the mall; high out of his mind as he was, he’ll never forget the way Robin looked at him, the sheer crestfallen expression. All that confusion, all that fear and frustration and, in the end, resignation. He’s seen it in the mirror, and he’s seen it in those pretty brown eyes that he just can’t get out of his head anymore.
He offers, gently, “How can you need him when he’s right there? How can you love him when a year ago you loved El?”
And Mike just looks at him before he deflates completely, his shoulders falling along with his face. He nods. Shrugs. Looks away and hides his face behind his leg.
Steve sighs softly, watching the boy and speaking the words he wants to say the sixteen year-old version of himself. “I don’t know,” he says truthfully. “I really don’t, and it sucks sometimes, having this need to, like, decide. Or understand. Or stop and be like the rest of them.” Like Robin and Eddie, or like the rest of the world. “But I like to think, sometimes, that maybe it’s a good thing. That there’s just… I don’t know, it sounds corny as hell, but like, there’s just so much love to give, we can’t even stick to only boys or girls, y’know.”
“That does sound real corny as fuck, man,” Mike says, and back is that long suffering tone of his, back is that eye roll and the twitching elbow, ready to nudge Steve in the side. It’s still tinged with that vulnerability, not quite Mike yet, but it’s an offering.
One of many tonight, it seems.
Steve grins, a bit lopsided and raw, shoving Mike gently as he remembers something he overheard once. “Sorry, mister Heart of our group, but I don’t think you have any leg to stand on here.”
That makes Mike freeze, though, and he stares at Steve wide-eyed; caught. Exposed. Reminded.
“What did you say?”
“Uh,” Steve falters, not sure where he went wrong — or if he went wrong at all. “I overheard Will calling you that, talking about you to, uhm. Someone. I don’t know. Why, what’s— What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” Mike says, way too quickly, pulling away again with everything he has, hiding behind those walls once more, and Steve feels whiplash from it.
“Mike,” he says, his voice quiet and gentle as he turns to face him completely.
“No.”
“It’s okay,” Steve says. Promises, as much as he can.
“Shut up!”
“You’re not wrong or bad or broken. It’s okay, you’re okay.”
“I said, shut up, Steve.”
“You should see the way he looks at you, too. You should go talk to him. You—“
Mike lashes out, finally coming out from behind those walls again, only to shove at Steve, to push him away — hard enough for him to lose his balance and almost fall off the roof, clenching one hand on the edge, the other in the rainwater gutter with a bitten-off curse.
“Shit, I’m sorry!” Mike reaches for him immediately, snapping out of whatever anger Steve caused, and pulling him back until he’s safe again, apologising over and over, dead to Steve’s promises that it’s alright. “Fuck, I’m so sorry, Steve, I’m so—“
He pulls Mike against his chest, finally reaching out to hold the boy who always pushes people away when they get too close — quite literally, too.
But he doesn’t shove this time, doesn’t move out of Steve’s grasp as the mumbled apologies become heaving sobs.
“It’s okay, you’re okay, you’re so okay, Mike,” Steve tells him over and over as he holds him. The sky above is almost black now and Steve lets Mike cry into his chest.
It takes a while for Mike to calm down, but Steve just holds him through it, ready to let go whenever Mike wants to pull back and snap out of it again — but he never does, and Steve feels a certain kind of affection for the boy that is usually reserved for Lucas or Dustin.
At last, when he’s calmed down, Mike pulls back a little. “Do you really… Does it… Is it really okay?”
Can it be okay? Can I really like both? Is that not just me, being broken and wrong and bad? Will I get the chance to not be alone?
Steve swallows hard, and his voice is hoarse when he says, “Yeah. It’s really okay. ‘N’ I’m with you, yeah? If someone gives you shit for it. Or if you need a reminder.”
And Mike — puffy eyed, snotty nosed, so, so young — looks at him with those trusting eyes and nods, like he believes Steve. Like he trusts him. Like he hopes.
“Just don’t fucking shove me off your roof again.”
Ans just like that, the spell is broken, the tension is lifted, and silence has left them, as Mike almost chokes on a laugh and shoves at him again, lightly this time, before jumping off the roof so Steve can’t retaliate.
“Asshole,” he mutters, shaking his head as he, too, jumps off the roof, dusting off his pants as he watches Mike grabbing his bike. “Hey, Micycle,” he calls, cackling when Mike flips him the bird. “You want a ride back?”
Mike stops, considering as Steve casually flicks his keys into the air and catches them expertly. “What kinda music do you got?”
“The Clash, ‘cause Eddie hates them.”
“Yeah, that’s because they suck!”
Steve snorts, opening the driver’s side door. “Y’know, they’re one of Will’s favourites, actually.”
He watches Mike freeze with a grin on his face, knowing there’s no way the boy would take the bike.
“You’re so annoying,” Mike sighs as he brings his bike close to the garage and carefully lays it on the grass this time before hurrying over to Steve, getting in on the front, rolling his eyes when Steve cackles. “I don’t know why Eddie would date you—“
His words are drowned out when Steve turns up Train in Vain, drumming along on the steering wheel with a shit eating grin. Though the atmosphere is wildly different now, the spell broken and the bubble burst, it’s undeniable that something happened between them. Something big, something important.
Something that makes Mike’s annoyed, long-suffering expression be broken by the smile he’s trying to hide. It makes Steve laugh, elated and feeling something that’s much, much bigger than he himself ever could be.
It’s going to be okay. So, so okay.
Before they know it, they’re pulling up to Steve’s and he turns off the car, is about to get out when Mike makes him still again.
“Hey, Steve?”
“Hm?”
“I think it’s cool. You and Eddie.”
He smiles, relief and fondness washing over him. “Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
“Thanks.” He reaches over and ruffles Mike’s hair — a wild mane these days, but they could make it work with some care and some products. “Now go get your man, lover boy.”
“God, you suck so much, you’re so annoying!”
Steve’s cackling again when the passenger door slams shut and Mike lets himself into his house.
He spots a figure in the dark, their face lighting up when they take a drag of a cigarette — and Steve’s heart stumbles in his chest. He scrambles to get out, attempting to look calm and collected, even though Eddie always manages to see right through him.
“Hello, stranger,” he says, leaning against the wall beside Eddie, hiding away in the dark, where the world won’t see their shoulders touch, or their fingers tentatively playing with each other before they can’t take it no longer and lace their hands, holding on tight.
“Hi,” Eddie breathes. “How’d it go?”
“Fine, I think. But, uhm… I told him. About me. About us. That, uh. That okay?”
Even in the dark, Steve can feel eyes on him, but he just stares ahead, opting instead to give his warm hand a squeeze. He smiles when Eddie’s thumb begins to draw patterns on his palm.
“Hmm. Very. You think they’ll be okay?”
“Yeah,” Steve breathes, stealing Eddie’s cigarette from his mouth and pulling it between his own lips. “Yeah, I think they will be.”

Y'know I really feel like Harry and Dave's relationship goes highly unexplored which is a shame because there IS quite a bit to explore, ESPECIALLY if you care about shipping. But as the game stands I mean, they must be aware of each other. Harry in fact definitely knows about Dave. I don't think he'd tell the fucking weird rotten bunny his terrible boss brought in IS the number one threat against Freddy's since day 1 but even so. Dave I don't think would see Harry as much more than A Phoney™ though, which is always more of an obstacle and way less of a person. Which is usually opposite of how Jack sees his often sole employee. Like, you get what I mean? It's almost similar to 2 with the main opposing routes being Peter and Dave except the stakes are arguably way lower now.
#luly talks#dsaf#dsaf harry#dsaf dave#harry fitzgerald#dave miller#if you DO care about shipping however the meat to chew on becomes greater#i think dave bond w Phoneys in general goes fairly unexplored which is once again A Shame bc i do like the hypocrisy he holds#in more than one way they mirror each other#now im just getting emotional and derailed now im literally just thinking of steven that's NOT da point now 💥💥💥#point is i do think you'd take this to a weird domesticating route or simply a more. goofy love triangle one#i mean dave does say he'll win Jack back which is peak divorced line#so its like. a tug war. except Harry isn't like peter who was like employee for the love of god i need your help#harry is pretty passive like Sir. This is urgent but it is your choice ☹️#sorry my meds are kicking in what am i even saying anymore?#i feel like that NyQuil post im for sure gonna shit the bed tonight#i digress anyway point being i think you'd go many places with this concept#you'd just have them coexist in a way the game doesn't explore. you'd have it just plaguing Jack's mind.#you'd have a one sided rivalry. you'd have a STRAIGHT UP RIVALRY. you'd have tragedy and agony in planet earth#which i saw be touched up on once by that one artist who draws jack like he never left the 80s mullet and all. muppety too.#iykyk there's like 6 harrysport artists overall you'll figure what i mean#and yeah you'd even have a somewhat functional jack having two hands. which is something taps chest i truly think could happen#i believe un love and peace and chsnge and healing and#and copium first and foremost ☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️#my body feels so heavy its hard to leep my eyes open

#idk if it's because i've given autism a very in depth look now or if i just always been like this and never really thought about it#but i'm finding it harder and harder to match my feelings to what i guess i'm supposed to feel?#like when something sad happens and i have no reaction to it#it's not that i'm not sad or that i'm glad it's happening but i just have no feelings?#which in turn bring put feelings of guilt because i'm not sad or worried enough...#it's such a weird experience and i'm of course not saying that autistic people have no feelings#that's so not what i'm saying#but it is a trait of autism to have difficulty pinpointing what you feel and also difficulty expressing it in ways other people usually doit#so perhaps it is because i've learned about that that I'm accepting that maybe i just don't feel things ''the normal way''#but i'm having a weird one tonight because my mom had to leave because of an emergency with my grandma#and it's 1am right now#and i am worried. of course i am. I don't want my grandma to suffer (although i have accepted she's not gonna live much longer)#but i still don't want her to die obviously#and most importantly I don't want my mom to have to go through that... to see her mother die? that's horrible#i'm obviously sad and worried#yet i'm sitting here drinking coffee and laughing at funny videos like nothing's happening#and i feel fine... like as if my mom was just sleeping at home like every night and not at a hospital visiting her dying mother...#and i know that years back i would have gone ''what the fuck is wrong with me?!'' and perhaps maybe forced myself to feel worse#or to cry or whatever because I can't be chill when something bad is happening...#and maybe i'll feel that way when my mom is back because I can't be calm and happy is she's sad#that would be rubbing it in her face#so maybe i'll feel more guilty then?#idk it's a weird feeling that i wanted to put into words#mostly for when it happens again i'll have a record of it somewhere#idk#angel talks#personal

#my best friends boyfriend (who i’ve also been friends with for years) is just. not himself rn#we think it’s a manic episode but we don’t really know but it’s. terrifying lowkey#he thinks he’s genuinely jesus and that he’s conquered time and that he and my bsf are adam and eve#he’s been sending my bsf liek hundreds of texts per day since tuesday but it got really really bad and incoherent yesterday#and i woke up this morning to see multiple texts from gcs he created w me in them#and he keeps being like ‘because it’s 6:20 this is true’ and like ‘i know that at 9 pm everyone is gonna understand’#and he’ll text like 5 times then send a sc of what he just texted like that proves something but it’s all nonsense#i’m just really really concerned cause he really needs help but i don’t know how to ensure that happens cause he’s 19. not a minor#he’s just. not him rn. he’s called my bsf multiple times yesterday when he HATES calling normally#he had his band and his mom over in his apartment yesterday cause my bsf called his mom and h went to his bands show but was visibly not ok#and he saw nothing weird about it even tho he hates having ppl over normally and never without warning#and you can’t get him to see logic because everything you say he just twists around to work for him#to be clear it was not this bad when it started. when it started it seemed like normally maybe slightly out there conclusions he was drawing#but it just got worse and worse like exponential decay and really bad yesterday#he also didn’t sleep at all yesterday night and idk if he slept tonight#i know his mom took his phone at one point but he texted me and gcs w me in it starting at like 6:20 this morning#and my bsf and i and friends are on a trip out of state rn but we’re leaving today and i don’t wanna wake her up until i have to because#this is literally hell for her. but it’s just. scary. i don’t know what to do. i don’t think there’s any good options really for me rn#i want to warn ppl and try to explain he’s Not Him rn so they don’t get concerned but who knows if they’ll understand what i’m trying to say#i know it’s not the end of the world but it really feels like the end of my world as i know it if that makes sense#and my bsf lives with him in an apartment near their college and they just signed the lease for the next year#but she can’t stay there with him alone. not until he gets help. we’re all too scared it’s going in the directon where he thinks it’s better#for ppl to go to the afterlife. which like he never would normally. but he’s Not Him and so like. who knows#he keeps talking about all these different dimensions and how you need to travel to the 7th dimension to understand#my bsf was crying yesterday and she called her mom to explain and she keeps saying that she just wants her jake back it’s really scary#cause he will probably never be the same again. he’ll be similar but different but she wants his comfort but he’s Not Him. and can’t give it#i just. really want this to get better but it’s so hard to see that happening rn
