Hournite Week Day 5: First Date ⏳🌙
Beth: "...and then, Mr. Clarkson was like 'It's a tube-a-toothpaste. Get it? Tuba?' And for a whole week, Isaac couldn't even enter the classroom without someone making a tuba joke."
Rick: "I hate to say this, but I pity that guy."
Beth: "I know! I mean, he's not a bad kid, he's just-"
Waitstaff: "Hi, sorry to interrupt! But unfortunately, our kitchen is almost out of bananas and we've only got one banana split left."
Beth: "Oh."
Rick: "You can have it."
Beth: "No, you barely had half a burger. You have it."
Rick: "But you came all the way here just to try it!"
Beth: "Pat did say the banana split was life-changing..."
Rick: "Well... How about we..."
Beth: "... split it?"
Rick: "I mean... it's a banana 𝘴𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘵, after all."
Beth: "Haha... sure... if you don't mind."
Waitstaff: "Great, one banana split coming right up!"
-
(Later)
Cook: "Hey, has table two left yet?"
Waitstaff: "Nope. Still there. It's like they have endless things to talk about."
Cook: "More like neither one of them wanted the conversation to end! I knew Operation Banana Split would be a success." 😏
Waitstaff: "Classic move, Sal. Another couple formed at the Blue Valley Diner, courtesy of us." 😏
Cook: "Cheers to that." 🍻
---
Ngl, I drew this piece a few days before the promo came out, and I almost screamed when they turned up in similar outfits in the exact same colours 😭 I dressed them up a little more for their first date though 🙈
Also, Beth's headband was inspired by a really cute translucent one I saw once online! It felt perfect for Beth's sunny wardrobe (I could never rock something like that 🥲) and I've always wanted to play more with her hair! :'D
Also, ice cream flavours are Birthday Cake (it still boggles my mind how this is a thing in the US), Strawberry and Lavender!
Birthday cake represents Beth's vibrant personality and celebrates the birth of something new (hehe), strawberry is sweet and safe, while lavender represents the calm and tranquility that Rick has achieved since sparing Grundy's life (and it also happens to be my favourite flavour)! Hope yall like it! :D

ha ha, I blame @bittydragon and their Webbed AU. Anyone who knows me knows I started out as an anon on Roman’s blog who spent their time making their AUs extremely dark and angsty. Bitty has now been hit with their Webbed AU. :) I’m calling this the Arachnophobia AU because it’s going to be really dark and keeps activating my own arachnophobia :’) (I have to look up spiders for this AU) Trigger Warnings for: Arachnophobia (Driders/spider people), Death (Unnamed drider), Killing, Blood (Kind of implied), Vore, and Cursing!
Tommy stared at the forest stretching out around him. Of course he had to explore deeper into the woods than was allowed and now him and his friends were in this situation. Trapped in a giant web made by something and no one around for miles.
"Tubbo, please stop yelling..." Ranboo grumbled, the half albino clearly ready to accept the fate that would inevitably befall the trio. His nihilism was sometimes a little too much to deal with.
Tubbo was yelling for help, he had been since Tommy fell into the web, and only increased in volume when he and Ranboo joined Tommy. "Shut up! Someone has to fucking hear us!"
"Yeah, or something. That's more likely!"
"Oh fuck you!"
"I'd... Hrm, you know what, never mind, I don't care."
"HELP!!"
Tommy sighed, scrunching his eyes shut. This was a horrible idea.
And then he felt the thread move.
Tommy's eyes flew open, heart leaping. "Tubbo! Tubbo something's coming!"
"Hey! We're stuck! Help us!"
"Guys, I'm not sure..."
Tommy joined in, yelling, pleading for help from whoever was moving the sticky thread of the spider's web. Both boys stopped, falling silent in horror as something beyond their imagination slowly came out of the foliage.
"That's not a person..." Ranboo whimpered, staring in terror at the half-human-half-spider creature looming over the trio.
"Huh, would have thought you were more... substantial from all that yelling." The creature stated, slowly and lazily. "Oh well, guess it's fine." The creature moved faster, obscenely long legs carrying it over the sticky threads to the trio as if it was nothing.
"woah, woah, woah! Can't we talk about this?!" Tommy tried, struggling against his bonds.
"Nope. Been without food for a week. Nothing to really talk-" The spider creature screeched suddenly as something dropped on its back. "You! Get off me! Stop!"
The trio watched as the spider creature struggled before falling over, limp save for a twitch of the leg.
And then the snickering began.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" The trio looked at their savior, hearts sinking as they realized it was another spider-person-thing. Smaller than the one whose web they were trapped in, but a second one no less. "Three little humans, all caught and with no way out? How sad." The spider-person hummed. It seemed to be floating in mid air as it dragged the much bigger spider person closer. "You know, I don't normally waste my time with people, but maybe you three could be fun. I mean, I did save you from certain death, so you kind of owe me, you know?" The giant spider creature convulsed, and the floating one reacted quickly to bite it in the neck.
Tommy watched as the light seemed to fade from the much larger one's eyes, it once again falling limp. He looked back up to the floating one. "You... You killed it."
The floating one smiled, removing his mouth from his prey. "Well duh! I eat these guys. Sometimes humans, but, I think I'll keep you guys around for a while."
"What?!" The trio practically yelled in unison. Tommy could only watch in horror as this new spider creature floated the rest of the way down, landing lightly on the web before it approached Tubbo, easily ripping his shorter friend from the web. "Tubbo!" Tommy's eyes teared up as he watched the spider creature dangle Tubbo over its mouth and drop him in, gulping loudly and snickering as it turned to Ranboo. "You son of a bitch! Let him out!" The creature ignored Tommy, stalking over to Ranboo.
"Hm, you're taller." It hummed, pulling his second friend from the web.
Ranboo was silent, looking to Tommy as he shook his head. He began to struggle when the creature opened its mouth, a deadly chasm just below his feet. "TOMMY!"
"RANBOO!" The duo called out to each other as Ranboo was dropped into the creatures mouth, where it seemingly rolled around- or worse, chewed- Tommy's last friend before swallowing him as well.
"You.. You sick FUCK!" Tommy hissed out, the creature approaching him. It knelt down next to him. God, even if this thing was small it was still probably hundreds of times larger than the trio. All three could probably fit in its hand with ease.
"What? You'll be fine. I'm not going to eat you yet. Little humans like you are too useful to me." It chuckled, pulling Tommy from the web as it did so. "Now, behave, you don't want me to change my mind!"
Tommy was unceremoniously thrown into the air, yelling as he fell, only to hear the sharp click of teeth snapping around him and plunging him into darkness. Tommy screamed and tried to fight back as he was thrown around by the slimy appendage that was this thing's tongue. He could feel the creature tilt its head back and swallow him down, his hand flying up and trying desperately to grab onto anything he could, made impossible by the slimy saliva. Tommy felt himself slide down the tight, muscular tube before falling into a more open space.
Right on Tubbo and Ranboo.
"Ow!"
"Oi! You two okay?!"
"For now we are. Right boss man?"
"Tommy just landed on my spine, we are inside a giant spider person, and no one knows we're gone. I wouldn't call this "okay" at all."
"Yep, he's fine."
Tommy sighed. They were alive, for now.
Dream smiled, happy his new pets were tucked away and safe. They probably thought they were in his actual stomach and not his storage stomach. Heh, oh well, they'd figure it out eventually. Right now he had to drag this giant pest that dared set up his web in Dream's territory someplace to store it. He made his way back to his drop line, smirking as he felt the trio stumble and jostle about inside him. Yeah, they'd be useful. And once they were done being useful he'd get rid of them for good.

hi aunties!! quick question: any advice on how to ask my doctor what their “policy” is for performing a certain procedure? i’m a childfree 22 afab enby and want to get my tubes tied, (insurance will cover everything except about $1250 for in-network doctors 🥳) and i do have a list of doctors available that would be more likely to perform it in case my current OBGYN won’t agree to do the procedure, which is very likely. i’m not great with knowing how to ask about certain things, and this is one of them, so i wanted to see if you guys had any advice. thanks so much!! 💞💞
Hey cutie! Weirdly enough, I have some experience with this question. While I use an IUD, my bestie had her tubes tied a few years ago and I’m her emergency contact, so I got to be around for the pre- and post-op discussions with the doctor.
It’s good that you’ve done your research so far and you’re aware of the stigma against young AFAB people getting their tubes tied. (Quick aside: the procedure is called a tubal ligation. Doctors don’t literally tie your fallopian tubes in a knot. While it’s more invasive than a vasectomy, it’s still a relatively safe out-patient procedure that leaves minimal scarring on your lower abdomen.) You’re prepared for pushback, so it’ll be less of a shock if it happens.
Go to your main OBGYN and say, “I’ve decided that biological parenthood is not for me and the idea of getting pregnant is extremely antithetical to my life goals. Could you tell me more about a tubal ligation? I’d like to know how the process works, what the potential side effects are, and if I’m a good candidate for the surgery.” Asking for information first will a) put your doctor in a good mood, b) demonstrate that you’re not making a frivolous decision, and c) literally provide you with extra information you need before going through with it. For example: I’m a childfree woman and I’ll likely never get my tubes tied because I have an irrational fear of needles and surgery and the IUD works really well for me and my partner. The surgery is not for everyone, and there are other semi-permanent, reliable options!
Once you receive the information you requested, you can tell them “yes, that’s definitely what I want, now let’s schedule it,” or “maybe I’ll wait a while to evaluate my options and make sure this is right for me,” or “nope nope nope.” This is very important, and I know YOU know it, but I just want to reiterate for everyone: your reproductive decisions are yours alone to make and no one, not even your doctor, should try to sway your decision based on personal opinion rather than medical fact.
So if your doctor is like “GASP! But you are so young and will surely change your mind about having babies!” calmly thank them for the information, leave, and make an appointment with another OBGYN who is accepting new patients. I guarantee you’ll find someone respectful of your decision and timeline. Just keep your cool until you do.
One last note: AMAB people have trouble getting vasectomies at a young age too. My husband, Bear, could not convince his doctor to give him the surgery and eventually gave up. His doctor basically said “There’s no WAY your wife won’t change her mind about having babies, this isn’t your decision to make, so I’m not giving you a vasectomy until she’s past the safe childbearing age.” Just one of those fun little ways in which patriarchal misogyny negatively affects people of all genders.
Good luck, baby! Here’s more for everyone on making reproductive decisions and being childfree:

Prologue: The Escape
First - Previous - Next - Masterlist - (ao3)
I saw this fic idea by @messymessyml and couldn’t help myself. I tagged the people who asked to be tagged on the original post; if you want to be added comment or send an ask ;)
Damian is 16 and Marinette is a month shy of 16 at the beginning of the fic.
the characters may be a tad OOC.
TW: Bullying, cursing (it’s censored but still there)
        Damian stormed into the cave through the zeta tube. Everyone moved aside; they had not seen a look of such fury since he had first come to Gotham. Despite him not being the violent assassin he was raised to be, Robin found himself nearly following through with his usual threats. Not even bothering to discard his equipment, the heir walked straight to one of the side rooms for private discussions. As predicted, his father followed him. No doubt for a lecture.
        Spinning around to face his father, Damian took a deep breath. I can’t lose my head, it won't help my case.
        “Father….” there was so much defeat and anger in his voice that the bat seemed to almost reconsider his decision, almost. Robin watched his Father lift his hand to stop him from speaking any further, and begin to address him.
        “It was the right call, Damian. It had to be done. You cannot just run around with superpowers. I had to deal with that.”
        “It wasn’t your call.” The teen growled. “I had an advantage, Father! It would have been hard for Mother to kill me again! I was safe.”
        “You do not need powers to be safe, Damian.”
        “I died because I was too slow. It wasn’t your call to remove my safety net! It was mine!”
        “I am your father! Everything is my call!” Daman could see that this was going nowhere. Setting his face into a scowl, he left the cave.
        Left with his thoughts as he navigated through the maze-like halls of Wayne Manor, the young hero began to negotiate with himself; beginning a difficult game of mental tug-of-war. Weighing the pros and cons proved to be harder than he originally thought; it started with admitting that he may have become attached to his “siblings”, at least more than he would have originally thought he could be. On the other hand, they treated him one of two ways, all of the time; he was always either a child or a weapon. At the very least they should be able to treat him like his actual age! But, they also cared for him a lot… in their own way.  On top of that, the manor was a hugely more beneficial environment than the league ever was. His mother would also have a harder time reaching him here. That didn't stop her before.  Despite how “safe” this place was said to be, his mother still found a way to kill him for his change in loyalty. If he left, he would surely be caught. If you stay, she will know you’re here and plan accordingly.
        Slowly the pros started to outweigh the cons making his decision obvious, he would run away tonight.
        It wasn’t until he arrived in his room that he realized he was still wearing his uniform. Not wanting to return to the cave, the heir simply folded the uniform and placed it at the end of his bed. No doubt Pennyworth would retrieve it in the morning. He glanced around his room. There weren't any decorations aside from the occasional painting or katana. Making up his mind, Damian went through his few belongings that mattered. He had to be careful to find ones that would not have a tracking device in them. I’ll have to go to my safehouse for clothes. He gathered up all his weapons that wouldn't be noticed gone and wouldn't be flagged by airport security. Putting everything in a bag, he snuck out his window and took off for his apartment. Leaving only a note that read, I need space, I will be at one of my safehouses, off grid.
___________Marinette pov______________
        “You b*tch!” a loud slap echoed across the school courtyard. “Not only are you a liar and a bully, you’re a thief too!” Alya screamed, waving her hands around. “That’s Lila’s life’s work and you just claim it as your own! Lazy, fat, sl*t!”
        “But, Alya! I have my sig–”
        “I didn’t say you could speak, wh*r*.” Alya said, grabbing the designer’s shirt. “You are going to stand up; walk over to Lila; apologise; and give her her sketchbook back. Understand b*tch.”
        “No.” Mari took a deep breath and shoved her building emotions back down into their designated corner. “I will not apologise to Lila because I did–”
        “What did you say b*tch!”
        “I said no.”
        “You piece of sh*t.”
        At this point Marinette just tuned her ex-best friend out. She always said the same things.  So the heroine only waited.
        After school Marinette left for home immediately; she did not want to be in any trouble for being late for her shift. With twenty minutes to spare, the girl leapt up the stairs three-at-a-time to reach her room with enough time for concealer. She would probably be grounded for operating the register with marks on her face. It’s a good thing that my miraculous has healing properties or I wouldn't be able to work at all.
        While at the till, a swarm of wasps swept through the shop stinging everyone, except Marinette. As soon as she saw the wasps, she took off for the walk-in freezer in the back of the bakery. Tikki fazed through the door to see when it would be clear to leave the freezer.
        “All clear Marinette!” Tikki chirped.
        “Thanks.” The hero swung open the door and took off running for the Seine.
        Upon arriving at he famous river, Marinette dove into the water scattering the trail of wasps behind her. Pulling out the water powerup, Mari was amazed to discover that even underwater the macaroon did not get soggy, but remained its usual texture and firmness. Calling for her transformation again, Ladybug sprinted to Master Fu’s location unaware of the villain tailing her.
        “Master Fu! May I use the snake miraculous?” With a nod, Master Fu pulled out the miracle box and selected the snake miraculous.
        “Thank you!” LB called out as she left merging the two miraculous. Lately, Marinette had taken to using the ladybug and snake miraculous together having taken the cat miraculous away from Adrien.
        Arriving in front of the town hall, Ladybug surveyed the battlefield. In front of the akuma, Miracle Queen, stood all her previous allies: Adrien, Luka, Ivan, Nino, Max, Alya, and Kagami. They all appear to have been stung by the wasps. At that moment, Hawkmoth arrived bearing the miracle box! Hawkmoth passed the box to Miracle Queen and the students stepped forward to take their respective jewels. All but two, Luka and Adrien. Ladybug had both of those miraculous on her person (the black cat miraculous was in her yoyo) She was about to enter the battle when Master Fu leapt over the building in pursuit of the villain weilding the turtle as Jade Turtle. At that moment Ladybug engaged the various villains calling for her second chance.
        As she landed, Pegasus opened a portal to space. Reactivating second chance she tried again, and again, and again, and again. Until she managed to take the dragon and horse miraculous back.
        There was a rush of wind and all the holders before her, except Hawkmoth and Myura, were stripped of their miraculous as a light formed above her head. Oh no, Master Fu! The miracle box fell into her hands. Using the destraction Ladybug broke and purified the akuma.
         She ran to Master Fu as quickly as she could.
        “Master Fu! Are you okay?” She waited with baited breath.
        “Hello, young lady, do I know you?” There went any hope I had.
        “No, I’m just a concerned citizen.”
        I dropped off the miracle box in my room before releasing Tikki from my transformation and entering the bakery through the front. Her parents were there, waiting for her.
        “We’ll talk about this later.” Sabine said smiling at Marinette with daggers for eyes.
        “Yes, Maman.” Nope. Nope. Nope. Not today. Not ever.
        As soon as Marinette reached her room, she pulled out the miracle box, a backpack of clothes and sewing supplies, and her toiletries (she could pull money out of her account later if needed). Opening the box, Marinette took out the horse miraculous releasing Kaalki.
        “Master F– where is Master Fu, Marinette.”
        “Gone, he relinquished his guardianship when hawkmoth cornered him.” She put on the glasses. “I need an escape; is that ok Kaalki?”
        “Of course guardian.”
        The girl called for Kaalki’s transformation, summoned a portal, gathered her belongings, and walked through.
Authors notes will be at the end from now on (minus warnings and such)
what should i call this story?
Smiles and love, Jjmjjktth <3 :)

Swiss Ghoul (Ghost) 18+
I realized a while ago that I always shoulder shimmy whenever I hear a song with a particularly good beat (usually Hispanic music lol), so it was about time I wrote something about Multi.
Warning: The reader has night terrors. I don’t have night terrors myself, so I apologize if I portray it incorrectly! +SMUT.
Edit: I’m adding smut at the end of this...don’t know why. This would be the first time writing something so explicit. So, 18+ 18+ 18+!!!
~~~~~~~~~~
Every night, you’d get these horrible night terrors.
It started when you were a young, after your parents died. You’d always cry or scream in your sleep. You went to the church’s Priestess for help, but she told you that there was nothing she could do. You prayed to your lord every night, hoping that he could take away your suffering. He never answered.
Eventually, almost a week of screaming every night, it was decided to move your room to the most secluded part of the abbey. You didn’t blame them. You were sure you’d get tired of listening to your screams every night too.
You knew everyone felt sorry for you, but you didn’t need their pity. You just wanted one good nights sleep...was that too much to ask?
In your room, no human could hear your screams. No human. But unfortunately, the Ghouls could. Curse their super hearing...
The Ghouls didn’t have to tell you that they could hear you, you could tell by the way they looked at you with pitiful stares every time you’d pass them in the halls in the mornings. You felt so embarrassed...
The worst part for you was everyone in the abbey treating you like you were made of glass. You had lived with night terrors for so long now that you knew how to make sure that you didn’t get hurt. You did not need their help with that.
After one practically awful incident, you grew more and more careful of how you slept. It was when you were living in foster care, about a year after your parents died. You had already dealt with the night terrors, but that night, you got hurt. You don’t usually remember what happens when you have these episodes, but your foster parents told you that you flailing around so hard that you fell off your bed, hitting your head on the bedside table in the process.
You had to deal with the risk of getting concussions after that, and ever since you’d make sure to wherever you slept was basically safe enough for a child.
After becoming a Sister of Sin, the night terrors mellowed out for a while, but it didn’t last.
You sighed, pushing your fork around, some scrambled eggs and a sausage being the only thing left on your plate. You looked around the mess hall, it was pretty empty. You were usually one of the first ones to arrive for breakfast since you rarely got your full eight hours.
Even if the night terrors were detrimental to your sleep, you were still thankful you didn’t remember them. But ever since you got hurt, you’ll admit, you’ve been afraid of sleeping. Nowadays, you get about four or five hours every night at the most.
You suddenly think back to a psychology class where your teacher said that lack of sleep can cause early deaths and heart attacks...oh well.
“Good morning, Y/N!” Swiss’ voice called out, making you drop your silverware in shock.
“Morning.” You sighed and yawned.
“Sleep well?” He asked, making you glare at him. He grinned nervously, knowing full well of your predicament. “Bad joke? Sorry...”
Being annoyed, you still chuckle. “It’s alright.”
“Gonna eat that?” He asked, pointing at your neglected eggs and sausage.
You smiled weakly, and pushed the plate over to Swiss. “Knock yourself out.”
Swiss licked his lips in anticipation, a puddle of drool already pooling on the table. He grabbed your previously held fork and stabbed it into the greasy piece of meat. He lifted up the impaled sausage and brought it to his mouth, only to bite the bitter metal of the fork.
Swiss whined and looked around for the culprit of his stolen breakfast, only to see Dewdrop already scoffing it down. “Hey! That was mine!” Swiss fussed.
Dewdrop grinned and sucked off the leftover grease that coated his fingers. “You don’t eat sausage with a fuckin’ fork. You were basically asking for it to be stolen.”
“Civilized Ghouls use their manners!” Swiss growled.
“Swiss, when has Dewy ever been civilized?” You chuckled, making Dewdrop narrow his eyes at you.
“I told you not to call me that, brat.” He growled.
“Ha! You’re calling me a brat?!” You laughed loudly.
“You wanna meet your maker early?!” Dewdrop shouted.
“Ugh, children. Stop fighting!” Aether said suddenly, sitting down beside you, opposite of Swiss, making you feel quite protected from Dew’s empty threats.
“She started it!” Dewdrop pointed a sharp claw at you.
“If you wanna get technical, it actually Swiss that started it.”
“What?!” Swiss squeaked.
Dewdrop suddenly grinned evilly. “You know what, you’re absolutely right.” He said, Swiss immediately begging for his life before Dewdrop tackled him to the floor.
You and the rest of the Ghouls watched in amusement as Dewdrop and Swiss wrestled each other on the floor, Aether enjoyed his breakfast while watching the show.
“Hey! Hey!”
You all looked to see Sister Imperator storming towards the group, a spray bottle in hand. She quickly sprayed a still fighting Dew and Swiss with water, forcing them to break apart.
“You Ghouls are supposed to be at practice soon! Copia is gonna waiting!”
The Ghouls suddenly remember that they had to go on tour soon, frowning when they had to leave you alone. But shooed them off anyway, you didn’t want to be the cause of their possible punishments for blowing off work.
“We’ll hang out later, okay?” Swiss smiled at you, showing his pearly white teeth, water still dripping off his silver mask.
You nodded and smiled, but frowned as soon as his back turned and headed off to the studio where they usually practiced. “Y/N,” Sister Imperator said, “can I talk to you?”
You held your breath for a moment, nervous about the grim look on her face, but you answered anyway. “Yes, of course, Sister.”
Sister took a seat where Aether previously sat, and put a gentle hand on your shoulder. “Your terrors haven’t stopped.” She stated.
You furrowed your eyebrows. “H-how...?”
“The Ghouls.” She answered. “They haven’t been getting much sleep lately. The band is suffering because of this. They just can’t focus on their music due to lack of sleep.”
You looked down embarrassed. “Sister...I’m-”
“I know it’s not your fault, dear. But...” She sighed. “It needs to stop or else they won’t be tour ready.”
Your heart almost stopped. “...are you kicking me out?” You almost cried.
“No, no, no!” She said. “Not permanently.” You nodded tearfully. “It would only be until they go on tour, dear. I promise. It’s just...they need their sleep to get the most out their practice time.”
“I understand.” You said, your voice barely passing a whisper.
“You won’t be homeless. We’ve already set up a living arrangement with a member of the church that’ll be happy to house you for awhile. Okay?”
“When do I leave?”
“Anytime tomorrow.”
You bit your lip to keep it from trembling. “Okay...I’ll go pack now if that’s okay with you Sister.” You said and got up without waiting for an answer.
You dug your nails into the soft material of your habit, willing yourself not to break down on your way to your room.
The waterworks started flowing at soon as you closed your door, throwing yourself onto the familiar comforting feeling of your bed, remembering that you wouldn’t have this bed until you got back.
It made you cry for hours, until you fell asleep...
You suddenly gasped awake, quickly trying to escape the claustrophobic feeling you felt around you. “Hey, hey, hey...shh...” You heard.
You looked up, and quickly realized who the voice belonged to. “Swiss...” You smiled, but Swiss didn’t smile. He looked worried. “What?”
You tried to sit, finding it difficult when you suddenly felt a sharp pain in the palms of your hands and forearms. You hissed in pain and looked at your arms. They were covered in scratches, and your palms had deep crescent shaped indents in them, all bleeding.
“Y/N...” Swiss frowned. “We got to take you to the infirmary.”
“No, no.” You groaned. “It’s okay. I have a first aid kit in my closet. Bottom shelf, I think.”
Swiss immediately rummaged through your closet and pulled out the kit, bringing it over to you as you sat up. “Does this happen often?” He asked while take out some antibiotic ointment.
You sighed. “Not really. I usually don’t hurt myself...it hasn’t happened in a long time.”
“I didn’t know it could get this bad...” Swiss gently took your arm, uncapping the tube. “I’m sorry.”
You smiled. “It’s not your fault. If anything, I’m the one who’s sorry.”
Swiss briefly gave you a confused look, continuing to treat your self inflicted wounds. “What do you mean?”
“Sister...she told me I’ve been keeping you all awake because of...my screaming. You Ghouls have always had better hearing than humans.” You laughed nervously.
Swiss’ eyes darkened. “She told you that?”
You nodded. “Practice hasn’t been going very well for you guys.”
Swiss sighed and shook his head, starting to wrap your hands with gauze. “I...yeah, it’s true. But it’s not your fault!”
“You’ve lost sleep because of me! How is that not my fault?”
“You can’t control what you do in your sleep, Y/N.”
“I have to leave tomorrow.” Your statement made Swiss halt his actions. “I have to stay at a Clergy member’s house until the band goes back on tour.”
“Fuck that.” Swiss suddenly said, making you blink in shock. “I’m not letting you leave.”
You chuckled bitterly. “It’s not like you have a choice.”
“I don’t care. You don’t deserve to be kicked out, even if it’s temporary. because of something you can’t control. I will go on strike, hell, all of us will.”
“Swiss...” You tried to scold, the determination in his voice making it hard for you to crush his hopes.
“Nope. Shut up.”
“Swiss.” You laughed.
“I’ll talk to Sister Imperator. I’ll convince her to let you stay.” Swiss said, looking you in the eyes. “Okay?”
You sighed in defeat. “...okay.”
Swiss finally finished treating your wounds, and put the first aid kit back in the closet. “Move over.” He ordered when he got back over to your bed.
You were confused but listened anyway. “What time is it?” You asked.
“Hmm, about ten.” He said and sat beside you.
You frowned. “You should probably leave then.”
“No, I’m staying with you.” Swiss said, making you blush. “If you want that it. Maybe it’ll sleep better?”
“Swiss, I don’t wanna hurt you.”
Swiss giggled. “I don’t know if you remember, but I’m a Ghoul babe. You’d have to be really freaking strong to even leave a scratch on me.”
You giggled. “Okay then. Fine.” You said and snuggled up against Swiss, finding his muscular body quite comfortable.
“I’ll make sure you don’t hurt yourself again.” You heard him whisper before his warmth lulled you into a deep sleep.
The next morning, you woke up still in Swiss’ arms. You found it surprising that you hadn’t scared him away. You looked up to see a sleeping Swiss. His mask was slightly crooked, showing a tiny bit of skin underneath. You smiled when you heard his soft snores. You always found him adorable.
But you frowned, remembering that you had to leave the abbey today...you had to leave Swiss.
You reached up and gently poked his jaw, him groaning in reply. “Hmm?”
“It’s morning.” You said softly, looking back towards your window that had sunrays shining through.
“Oh, really?” Swiss yawned, finally opening his eyes to look at you. “Guess what?”
“What?” You smiled.
“You didn’t scream in your sleep.” He smiled.
“Really?” You almost shouted, making Swiss wince slightly.
“Mhm, you didn’t even more around that much. You mumbled a little, but other than that, you pretty much slept like a baby.”
“Huh...that’s odd. I mean, it’s great but still, kinda odd. That doesn’t usually happen. I guess that means the others Ghouls finally got some sleep too.” You laughed.
“Oh, don’t worry about them. You should be focusing on yourself.” Swiss snuggled into your neck, the cold metal raising goosebumps all over your body.
“I have to leave today...” You frowned. Swiss stayed silent, not loosing his grip on you. “Swiss...”
“I told you I’d take care of it.” Swiss said, slightly muffled. You sighed and decided to sit up, making Swiss groan. “No, come back.”
“I have start packing.” You started to get up but Swiss grabbed your wrist, pulling you back down and looking at you with an intense glare.
“I told you, I’d take care of it.” Swiss said and stood up. “Stay here. Don’t fucking leave.” He ordered.
You rolled your eyes and fake saluted him. “Yes, sir.”
As soon as Swiss left your room, you started packing your suitcase. It’s not like you didn’t trust Swiss’ abilities to talk his way out of any problem, but talking to Sister Imperator was a whole other thing. She wasn’t one to take anyone’s shit, so that was worrying.
You didn’t exactly know how Swiss was going to try to convince Sister, but you hoped he could anyway.
Meanwhile, Swiss gathered up his fellow Ghouls and explained the situation. Dewdrop made the mistake of joking around that he wouldn’t mind if you left, making Aether slap the back of the head.
But they all agreed to help out, quickly going to Sister Imperator and successfully convincing her to let you stay.
You however decided to change out of your habit, not really thinking you’d have the need to wear it in your new temporary home. It felt like you were being put in foster care all over again...
You swiftly removed your habit, neatly folding it and placing it on your dresser. You picked some comfortable clothes and briefly wondered if you should take a shower. But before you decided, Swiss barged in through the door without knocking.
You squeaked and quickly got underneath your bed covers, hiding your half naked form. But it was too late, Swiss was already wearing a smirk. “Oh, learn to knock, will ya!” You blushed furiously.
“Sorry.” He laughed. Yeah, he obviously wasn’t sorry.
As if he wanted to make you more embarrassed, he sauntered over and sat in front of you. “Swiss...” You whined and sighed.
Swiss smiled, looking over to your open suitcase and frowned. “You were packing?”
“...uh, yeah.”
“I talked to Sister Imperator. She said you could stay.” He said, still frowning.
But you grinned. “Oh my...wow, really?! That’s...Swiss, I don’t know how you did it, but thank you! I’d totally hug you right now, but well, you know.” You giggled nervously.
“Y/N...” Swiss said lowly. “Didn’t I say that I’d take care of it?”
“Uh, um...” You stuttered, suddenly nervous by Swiss’ gaze.
“Use your words, babe.”
“Uh, yeah. You did say that.” You sighed.
Swiss moved closer to you and placed a gentle hand on your knee. “So, why is it that you’re packed, huh? Did you not have faith in me?” He pouted.
“N-no...I didn’t have faith that Sister would be convinced.” You chuckled.
“Hmm, I suppose I can understand that.” Swiss said, moving even closer to you and placing his hand on your cheek. “Guess you’re stuck with me now, huh?” He smiled.
You suddenly became aware of how close he was to you when you felt his warm breath on your face. He would not stop looking into your eyes. You glanced down at his lips, feeling the urge to taste them.
Swiss smiled and leaned in, the cold metal of his mask hitting your face first then his soft lips.
You almost moaned at the pleasant feeling. You always had a soft spot for the charismatic Ghouls, now, you were finally his.
Slowly but surely, you started to feel the fabric of your duvet slid off your body. “Is this okay?” Swiss whispered.
You nodded rapidly, wrapping your arms around his broad shoulders.
As soon as you gave consent, Swiss ripped off your coverings. Moving closer to you, he rubbed his large hands up and down your thighs. You could already feel yourself become slick with excitement.
Swiss brought a hand up to your underwear, delicately moving the article of clothing out of the way. You gasped when his cold fingers started moving in between your folds. “You’re so wet for me already, babe?” He grinned beautifully.
Swiss then inserted a finger into you, pumping in and out at a rate that made your head spin. You panted and tangled your fingers into his hair, placing the other hand on his bicep to try and steady yourself.
You moaned in pleasure when Swiss added another finger, then rubbing tight circles on your aching clit with his thumb. “Fuck, Swiss...”
Feeling a little guilty that you were getting all the pleasure, you brought your hand down from his head to palm his hardening length through his pants. “Eager, are we, Y/N?” Swiss groaned, throwing his head back slightly and chuckled.
With Swiss’ consistent pressure on your clit, you felt yourself getting closer and closer to the edge. Quick shocks of intense pleasure making your body jolt occasionally. “Swiss...I’m gonna-”
Swiss quickly pulled his hand away, making you whine and almost let out a sob at the loss of contact. He grinned and brought his hand up, licking and sucking you off his fingers. “Can’t have you cumming just yet, babe.”
Swiss stood up from the bed to remove his clothes, taking off his briefs released his throbbing cock, a bead of precum already leaking out of the tip. He then hovered above you, placing himself in between your legs. “Again, you sure about this, babe?” He asked softly.
You almost groaned in frustration. “Yes, Swiss, I’m sure. Now please just fuck me!” You begged.
Swiss quickly obliged, thrusting up into you with a snap of his hips, not worrying about getting you to adjust to his size since you were already so prepared. You moaned loudly, finally feeling him stretching you out. “You feel so good.” Swiss moaned.
Swiss kept up a steady pace, his length hitting all the right places.
From already being so close to your release from his fingers before, you could feel the knot building up inside you once again. “Swiss, I’m so close.” You stuttered.
Swiss nodded and picked up the pace, close to his release as well. He thrusted into you fast and hard, making your tits bounce and your head close to hitting up against the wall. His mouth pouring out delicious moans every time he felt you clench around him.
You soon felt that familiar sensation flow throughout your entire body. The knot in you finally snapping, causing waves of ecstasy to burn through you like lava. You moaned loudly, eyes tearing up and your vision becoming hazy as you rode out your orgasm.
Swiss’ thrusts became sloppy, chasing and finally catching up to you in reaching his own climax. The shots of his warmth filling you up, making you moan in unison with him.
Swiss pulled out of you with a huff, throwing himself beside you and soon wrapping an arm around your shoulder. “Wow...that was-”
“Fuckin’ amazing.” You giggled.
~~~~~~~~~~
I came up with a really dumb, cheesy title for a Multi Ghoul story. “Shimmying his way into my heart.” But I have no idea what to write to fit that title😂
Also, that was my first time writing smut so I’m sorry if it sucked. The cringeeeeeee 🙈

47 Thoughts While Watching Part 1 of The Bad Batch season finale (spoilers ahead!!!!!)
“They’ll still come for you”. Ugh that sounds so sad. He’s confident about it too.
How did Echo get so good at ship repairs? Unless basic ship crap is mandatory for sudden repairs. Which I guess if you hang with Skywalker, that’s a requirement.
Aaahhh, the Kamino theme is memorable.
So I wonder if Rampart planned to leave Crosshair on Kamino all along?
I love the fact the Kaminoans kept secrets from the Republic/Empire. Like using their credits to fund their own projects.
I wonder how Omega knew about that platform….I didn’t think she’d ever left Kamino. Unless she went there with Nala Se for whatever.
Damn, I’d hate always getting wet when I go outside.
So the pad and lift are proximity sensor based. Not weight.
So the tubes aren’t documented on any schematics. So none of the blueprints that Tech has access to have them on there. That means one of two things:
- there are “official” and “unofficial” blueprints. Like some the Republic were given and the actual plans.
- Nala Se had the tube system built specifically for her.
Private research lab doesn’t mean secret…but still, why did she get a private one? Was it just to create the enhanced clones? Or was it used for more “off the records” projects?
And if there are other tubes that run throughout Kamino, and they’re all secret, WHY!? Like why do they exist? Surely the Kaminoans know they can just go wherever they want whenever they want because they fucking live there. Unless….they became prisoners in their own home….
About how uncomfortable Omega is having to go to the lab…
“why would I be?” He sounded like he rolled his eyes there.
The amount of salt that is being sprinkled by Crosshair right now.
“We didn’t have a choice?”
“And I did?”
Okay so when I first watched this episode, I thought that meant he no longer had his chip. But now I see it as Crosshair not having a choice because Hunter had committed treason by what his orders were telling him.
Also, I love the colors used in the control room. Idk why. They just all work. I think it’s because the rest of that place is so blinding with white light.
So how did they build the tubes under water….
“Most in Tipoca City don’t know about it.” So some do.
Omega sounds so sad. Honestly since I’m certain there were more than just five enhanced clones, since Nala Se said that that was all that remained, I wonder if Omega saw the clones that didn’t survive the experimentation.
About how Tech always looks like he’s texting. I’m waiting for him to take a selfie with Echo or something.
About Hunter still trying to convince Crosshair that this is all influenced by his chip. I think Crosshair knows he’s being used, but he (like the others in Clone Force 99) want some sense of normalcy. Like Echo said earlier, “we’re soldiers, what other path is there?”
Okay the alarm reminds me of the purge siren.
And the indoor alarm sounds like an airport alert.
About Echo taking charge, although I think he naturally is the next in command rank-wise. Do we even know the rank of Tech and Wrecker? What was Crosshair’s rank before?
Omega should’ve gone and tattled on them to Rex. Like “and then they just ditched me!! Again!! I know I have no combat training but still…”
Its pretty clear that Crosshair knows how the team is going to act. Like what tactics they’d use and decisions they’d make. Like on Bracca, Crosshair knew immediately the scanner frequencies were being jammed, because he had seen Tech use that trick before.
“We’re running out of time Commander” I have enjoyed that guy’s voice. It’s soothing.
The way Crosshair spits out “the Republic” makes me think there is something more than just the inhibitor chip at play. I wonder if he’s always harbored ill feelings towards the Republic. Cut had issues with the war that were so strong, he deserted. I wonder if Crosshair had similar feelings.
Wow he is really hurt about being left behind. And I can understand that. But Hunter did have a responsibility to Omega, Wrecker, Echo, and Tech too. He couldn’t risk them being shot and killed while trying to reason with someone who is shooting at him. Of course maybe if he had made more of an effort to get Crosshair to come with them…..of course I do think the Empire has done some brainwashing of Crosshair as well.
“I was one of you. You may have forgotten, but I haven’t. And it’s why I’m going to give you, what you never gave me. A chance.”
I think there is more to this than face value. It could very well mean he’s giving them a chance to join the Empire. But that whole conversion always used the term “choice”, not “chance”. “Chance” is used more as “an opportunity to do something”. That “do something” could be making a decision though. Like “I’m going to give you a chance to join the Empire.” But it could be “I’m going to give you a chance to get out of here.” Hunter didn’t give Crosshair a chance to prove he was loyal to them either. Plus the way the rest of Crosshair’s team reacted tells me they weren’t aware of their Commander’s intentions.
I love how Tech, Wrecker, and Echo are standing there like 😐
I thought it was interesting Crosshair decided to send Omega on a shuttle off world. Of course where would that have been? Just pick some random coordinates and say “good luck”? How would that be received by Rampart? Of course I don’t think he cared about Omega. That was just Nala Se and Lama Su really. And honestly, Crosshair was sounding like he’d actually thought about this. Like if Hunter wants to keep Omega safe, then he needs to realize that she won’t be safe with them. Especially if they’re being hunted. However there may have been an ulterior motive here too. With Omega out of the way, It will be like “old times” when it was just them. He probably feels like he was replaced by a kid.
The change in music though. The emotional, sweeping theme dropping down to a more sinister theme when Crosshair mentions their superiority over regular troopers.
“This is what we were made for.” What if, and hear me out…what if the enhanced clones were created specifically for the Empire. Their deployment during the Clone Wars could’ve been a testing phase. They may not have been prepared for the chance the inhibitor chips didn’t work. Crosshair had mentioned that Hunter couldn’t see the bigger picture. What if that is the bigger picture. That all of them were created to serve the Empire. Not the Republic. Which would explain Crosshair’s sudden disgust with it.
That reflection shot of Tech staring into the mirror. I like that shot. That’s really beautifully animated.
I have a feeling Crosshair knew his new squad wouldn’t listen to him. The “stand down” sounded like he was just saying it to say it. I don’t think he ever had respect for them, not after what happened with Saw’s fighters. They weren’t following him out of loyalty, but fear. And loyalty is a big deal to Crosshair. Honestly I think he had planned all along to kill his new squad. Like from the beginning. Which is why he was trying so hard to get his old squad members. The sooner he got them and convinced them to come to his side, the sooner he could shoot his new squad.
I have a feeling Crosshair know’s the reason why they were all created. Granted that could be brainwashing by the Empire to gain his compliance and loyalty. But something tells me that they were created specifically to become an elite squad for the Emperor.
Crosshair has some serious Anakin vibes when he’s telling Hunter to not become his enemy. And Hunter has some Obiwan vibes with the whole “we never were” line.
I do enjoy the weight they give Crosshair when Hunter flips him. Like the sound of him hitting the floor. He’s heavier than he looks.
Lmao that one TK trooper like “nope, imma get the fuck out of here.”
“Let the clones die together.” Yeah that bitch always intended to leave Crosshair on Kamino. Rampart never actually considered him important since he was the one that pitched the idea of an all conscripted trooper squad. He only had Crosshair as a part of it because Admiral Tarkin still liked the idea of clones. I think Rampart is going to try to climb over Tarkin on that Empire ladder. He didn’t mention to Tarkin that Crosshair was still on Kamino.
Aaahhh now the subject of the chip. Does he or doesn’t he? I think he does. The Empire wouldn’t remove it and take that risk of losing that compliance and blind loyalty. Plus the “does it really matter?” tells me he doesn’t know when, which he would if it was recent. He did have it in the first episode though. It showed up on the scanner and he did the whole “good soldiers follow orders.”
So I don’t think he was going to shoot Hunter. I think he feigned movement to make Hunter shoot him. He may not have thought Hunter’s blaster was sent to stun even. He may have intended to have Hunter kill him.
I do like how Hunter doesn’t hesitate to not bring Crosshair this time.
Damn the shots of the empty facility kills me.
Okay, so I know this was sad BUT the bombardment of Kamino was beautifully animated. Honestly. The underwater shots of the bolts hitting the support pillars. And it reminds me…Omega asked Tech about these the war was like and now she kinda knows. She’s never seen explosions like that.
Get ready for part 2

"Laila....?" he looks over to her for a second, "Like give up my flat permanently?" her voice is a whisper, she quickly sobers up "Well, yeah or I could move into yours if you don't want to move to mine?" she goes to speak but nothing comes out "Laila? What do you think?" he asks.
"Erm...I...errr....don't you think it's a little too soon?" he seems a little taken aback by her answer "But you're practically living there now, so what's the difference?" she knows what he's saying is right "But I..always have the option to go back home. If I move in to yours I don't have the option anymore"
"So you don't want to move into mine because you won't have an option to go back home?" he asks her confused "Harry, it's a big step....we've only been together 3 months. If this doesn't work out....I'd have to go back to square one again. Buy a new flat, new things" he pulls up outside his flat "That's what you're waiting on? Us to fail?" he seems a little hurt when he asks.
He takes the keys out of the ignition "NO! I didn't say that, I just meant we haven't been official for long and moving in...together...now. Well, it's a bit too soon!" he sighs, "Basically, I'm good enough to keep you safe from Vicky but to permanently move in I'm not?" he almost hisses at her "NO!! Don't put words in my mouth! Harry...I would love nothing more than to live with you permanently but when the time is right"
"That's the thing.... I don't think the time will ever be right," he gets out of the car slamming his door, without looking back at her, he walks through the main entrance and heads towards the stairs.
She sighs, knowing she's hurt him, but she doesn't want to rush into things for it to blow up in her face. She knows it's not just living that she's scares her... it's also losing him.
She gets out of the car and makes her way up, when she steps inside, the flat is dark. She wanders towards the living room which is dark flipping the lights on she saw him sat on the sofa with his head in his hands "Harry, I'm sorry, but I'm just not ready," he runs his hands down his face "I was thinking maybe I should go back to mine..." he stands and turns towards her "Do what you want! I don't want you to think I've taken that option away from you" he says as he passes her.
"Harry, don't be like that! I just think it would be moving too fast..." he cuts her off "You think we are moving too fast? OK, then sweetheart lets slow it right down....I think we should take a break to figure out what we want" Laila's blood runs cold "What?! Harry..." he turns away from her walks into the bathroom and closes the door.
She realises this isn't up for discussion.
After he closed the bathroom door, Laila heard the bath starting to fill, she stormed into the bedroom, grabbed her bag and packed just the stuff she needed before leaving the flat without waiting for him to finish in the bathroom.
She takes the tube as she's had too much to drink to drive home.
The next day.
She wakes her head is pounding, she woke up hoping last night was a bad dream, but reality hit and she realised it wasn't a dream. She turned off her phone when she got in last night, she didn't want to speak to anyone today.
After she got up and dressed, she needed to get some shopping in. She was in the supermarket trying to decide which pizza to get "You alright Laila?" she turned where she spots Ivie "Oh hey Ivie! How are you?" she puts on a fake smile, "I'm great thanks! You? How's your boyfriend?" Laila tries to smile but Ivie notices her eyes start to gloss over "Oh dear! Laila what's happened? Why don't we grab a coffee from the cafe upstairs and have a chat"
Ivie takes Laila's arm and leads her upstairs "You take a seat and I'll get these. Coffee is it?" Laila nods as she sits down at a table, she watches the shoppers below. The couples buying groceries together... Why didn't I just move in with him? Would be better than how I'm feeling now! She thought.
"Here you go, duck," Ivie says placing her coffee in front of her, "Do you want to tell me what happened?" Ivie asks. Taking a deep breath Laila relaid what happened last night to Ivie when she's finished Ivie sighs "You know me and my Archie split for 2 years in the begin, then we had 45 wonderful years together before he passed away. So, Laila don't see this as the end, it's the beginning you both just want to make sure you are ready for the next step that's all!" she smiles at her.
After her talk with Ivie, Laila feels a little lighter. She decides to go and pick up her car from his place, when she arrived his car was gone. She was a little disappointed, but knew they needed space.
Over the next few days or so Laila went into a routine she'd get up, shower, have breakfast, head to work, work all day, lock up head home, have dinner, a bath then bed. She worked on her days off and was the first to offer to cover another stylist if they needed, the truth was she didn't want to go home because it was quiet and she would do nothing but just sit there thinking about Harry and what's he doing.
She still ignored the world she muted all chats after she told her family, she was fine, but she needed time.
She saw Harry had messaged her, she sent a quick message back.
Tumblr media
One week turned into two of the same routines .
That night Laila ordered a pizza after she had a shower and decided to binge on Netflix, the buzzer went she went over to the intercom and buzzed up the delivery guy. As she opens the door, she's greeted by a big bouquet, she can't see the delivery guy behind them, "Oh, wow..." the flowers drop revealing his boyish smile and his ocean blue eyes.
"Harry?" she wasn't expecting to see him, suddenly she becomes self conscious of how she looked "Can I come in?" he pleads with her, she nods moving aside, so he could come inside. They make their way into the living room and he takes a seat on the sofa, placing the flowers down on the table. A ringlet of his hair drapes down wet from the rain as his coat was also wet "You look beautiful," he says as she sits down with space between them.
"Thanks, how are you?" she asks, he lets out a small laugh as he shook his head "Honestly?" She nods "Absolutely miserable!" he moves closer to her "Laila, I miss you!" he cups her face and she smiles "I know it's stupid considering I was the one that said we should take a break, but I thought maybe that's what you needed because things were moving to fast for you. Worst idea ever, I've done nothing but pine for you! I may have even walked passed your work a couple of times just to get a glimpse of you"
She laughs "Stalker much," he laughs at her comment "But I miss you too" his lips crash to hers, its rough and passionate "Laila, please can we resume this," he whispers against her lips, she smirks "Resume? Harry, we aren't a video game," she laughs, "Fine, get back together, unpause, take me back, be mine! If you aren't ready to take that step..fine, but I just want you back" he says as he reclaims her lips.
Laila can't help smile against his lips, he pulls away "Is that a yes?" He asks her "I'm not sure I need a little more convincing" she smirk, his lips brush against her ear electrifying every nerve ending "Let's see if I can convince you" he peppers kisses along her neck and up to her lips.
He pulls her onto his lap until she's straddling him, her hands tangle in his hair. The kiss turns intense, they're both trying to catch, their breath but they don't break apart. Harry grasps the hem of her t-shirt, pulling it over her head and quickly moves to unclip her bra as his lips move down to her collarbone before he flings her bra off.
His lips move down to her chest, his tongue glazes her nipple making her gasp. His hand slips between the waistband of her shorts, the pads of his fingers parted her fold, he worked circles around her clit. She pulls his lips back to hers, her hands wander to push off his jacket, soon both their clothes have created a puddle on the floor.
His hips thrust up to meet hers "God, I've missed you" he hisses as he enters her, she's missed him just as much and he could tell by the way her body reacted to his touch. He drags his nails lightly against her spine, making her moan. Her hips moved faster, riding him harder. He groans against her collarbone..
Later.
Pulling their clothes back on, Harry pulls her to his chest "Was that convincing enough?" he kisses the top of her head. She pretends to think "Hmm...it depends!" she laughs,"Depends? Depends on what?" he smirks at her "If there is a round 2" she winks "OK, just give me 5 minutes to catch my breath"
She tuts "Harry Taylor, the personal trainer is out of breath? How disappointing!" she jokes, he lets out a small laugh, "But yes! I want to resume this....this break made me realise I was being silly. So, Mr. Taylor, will you level up with me?" she sits up to look at him "Level up?" he cocks his head to the side not understanding her question.
"Will you move in with me? Over the past 2 weeks I hated coming home and you haven't been here. It made me realise maybe I was more ready for the step than I thought" he smiles, his hand moves a strand of hair away from her face, "Of course, you didn't even need to ask. Could've just moved my stuff in!" she laughs, "We aren't living here!" she smirks.
"Oh, you could've just moved your stuff to mine..." she cuts him off "Nope, I want us both to sell our flats and find somewhere new"
"Whoa! Are you sure? Laila, that is a big step!" she looks at him confused "One, I want to take but I want you to be one hundred percent about," he says as she rolls her eyes at him and cups his face "Harry, I'm sure. I just want a place that is both of us! One we can decorate together, where it doesn't have yours or my stamp on it but ours"
She has no idea how happy she has made him, he watches her relay her ideas on what kinda place she wants.
He's missed that smile, those eyes, her laugh.
She stops talking realising he's just staring at her "What?" she asks, he gets up picking her up with him, "Come on, we'll get started on round 2" he walks them to her bedroom.

The Revived - Chapter 13: An Interview
This is chapter 13 of the Dream SMP multichapter fic @rainbowbutterfrosting and I wrote together! I hope you’ll enjoy!
AO3
Read in order (on Tumblr)
Characters in this chapter: Wilbur, Ghostbur, Tubbo
Word count: 3436
Cw: stress, crying, discussions of limbo, lying, tension between characters
Fic summary: Wilbur was alive, and it was such a magnificent feeling, that made his mind spark with anticipation. It didn’t take long, however, for Wilbur to realize that this new breath of life, was not just his own. An echo-y voice hides in the back of his mind, and before he knows it, the transparent version of him he saw at the endless train station, is a lot more ingrained than he’d expected him to be.
And Wilbur really shouldn’t care. Because he’d be damned, if he spent the life he’d awaited for so long, babysitting a lost cause of a ghost, stuck in the very same limbo Wilbur spent so long in. It was an even exchange, and one Wilbur wasn’t going to mess with. Why exactly he ends up setting out to get the ghost out of his mind, in order to save the both of them, however, is beyond him. And perhaps Wilbur’s past isn’t as easy to leave behind, as he’d hoped it would be.
The walk to the portal seemed longer than normal, perhaps due to the wails in the back of his mind. Every now and then they would quiet down, only for them to get worse again. He sighed quietly, “‘m going to Pogtopia.”
Ghostbur tried to compose himself with little luck. Still, through his cries, he said, “Going where?” The words shook like a leaf in the wind but remained understandable.
“Tubbo.” Although the words weren’t sharp, the meaning of them felt like it. He would’ve apologized, but he frankly didn’t have the energy to care.
Ghostbur sniffled, “Anything bad gonna happen?”
Wilbur shook his head before realizing Ghostbur couldn’t hear him, “Nope.” He barely thought of the response as he stepped onto the path made out of oak slabs.
The walk was quiet. Ghostbur seemed calmer with the promise of Tubbo, and Wilbur wasn’t in a chatty mood. The sound of footsteps filled his walk there.
The road to Pogtopia was ingrained in Wilbur’s muscle memory. While memories were muddled, the times he hid underground planning to take back L’Manberg seemed to remain stuck there. The buttons, calmly lining the walls more and more each day. The way they had appeared to taunt him, every single time he had a look.
It didn’t take long for Wilbur to make it there. The entrance to the ruins wasn’t too obvious to find, but Wilbur vaguely remembered that most people knew about it by now. As he entered and looked at the walls, he felt as if he’d wandered into an old movie that scared you as a child. Something from a past life. The ceiling that went up high, but still wasn’t enough. The remains of glory, and the times he’d wanted to shout at nothing until he finally told himself that it was fine. Wilbur was a genius and a powerful commander, and he wasn’t going to let everything get whisked away. He would get it all back, or no one else would have it.
His L’Manberg waiting for Wilbur to decide its final fate, despite the protests of its remaining people.
Now, Wilbur looked at the dusty paths that looked almost unused now, safe for a few visible footsteps, as if the place was used as nothing but a place to merely pass through once a month. The buttons that every inch of Wilbur’s fingers were tempted to touch, just to feel the way they clicked under his command. He breathed the old air into his lungs, and while it had been ages, it still reached his heart and trapped it in a familiar cage momentarily. It all appeared much smaller now or perhaps haunted by the words, the promises, and the betrayals. Haunted by the time, all of Wilbur’s suspicions had been confirmed, because loyalty was thin, and everyone was only looking out for their own self-interest. He was reminded of Tommy’s anger as they confronted Techno after the festival. Exactly as he predicted, and now everyone had to see it as well. His own laughter from long ago rang through his mind.
“Hey there, big man!” Tubbo’s voice cut Wilbur out of the undesired nostalgic trance.
Ghostbur gasped, “Tubbo! Is Michael with him?” Wilbur turned and saw the boy standing there, looking at Wilbur expectantly. “Oh, there you are. I’m guessing Michael’s at home with Ranboo.” Wilbur said. Ghostbur’s passive acknowledgment echoed through his mind. He chuckled, “This place has really let itself go, huh?”
“Ah, a bit.” Tubbo said with a shrug, his tone remaining friendly as ever, “People don’t use it for much anymore, but some people stop by or keep some things here I think.”
Wilbur hummed, “You know, I almost didn’t expect it to still be standing at all.”
Tubbo laughed, “Yeah, that’s pretty impressive.”
Wilbur took another look at the path ahead of them and then turned to Tubbo again. “What did you want me for again?”
“Oh, right!” Tubbo said with a quick nod. He gestured towards the paths, “Follow me.” he said, and started walking.
Wilbur resisted the urge to laugh, though the cage only allowed a huff, “That’s a little suspicious, Tubster.” he added the next words in an overexaggerated tone, “Just follow me into this abandoned place! Come alone!”
Tubbo laughed, “To be fair, I didn’t necessarily ask you to come alone.” He bit his lip, and looked as if he pondered something, “I just… Uhm, I wanted to show you something I’ve been working on.”
Curiosity filled Wilbur’s mind. Had Tubbo really been planning to fix up Pogtopia? To make a new nation now that his leader was back? The thought put a smile on his face, “Ooo, do tell.”
Tubbo seemed slightly tense after Wilbur’s intrigue, “I mean, it’s not really anything too great. More like a side project.
“You really have to stop being so humble!” Wilbur put an arm around Tubbo’s shoulders, ignoring the way Tubbo jumped at the action, moving him slightly closer. “You’ve always been doing great things since the day I met you.”
Tubbo slightly untensed at the praise, but his words still seemed stiff, “No no, it’s really nothing. I don’t want you to get hyped then be disappointed.” They made a turn to the right, going to where Tubbo’s previous bunker was. They crossed over the brief patch of dark oak wood on the floor as they both walked into the room.
“You’ve got too high expectations of yourself, I’m sure it’s great.” Tubbo narrowed his eyes and pursed his lips slightly, but didn’t make any other comment. They walked up the stairs and while the room was mostly the same, there were certainly new renovations. Two chairs, a table, and a large bookshelf that seemed half-full. “What are the books about?”
Confusion came across Tubbo’s face before he realized what Wilbur was talking about, “Oh! So the thing is, I’ve been writing some history books. Figured they would be helpful to anyone new coming here.”
Wilbur exclaimed, “That’s great! People will get to know how great L’Manberg was and the valiant wars we fought. Tubbo, this whole thing is a great idea.”
Apprehension clouded Tubbo’s eyes, causing Wilbur’s grin to drop slightly. Neither of them said anything about it though. Instead, Tubbo spoke hesitantly, “Okay, so the main thing I wanted your help with is… See, I need some recounts to write some books about history, and what we know about things. The whole revival stuff is pretty new to most of us so… I was just wondering if I could ask you a few questions about it?”
Wilbur swallowed something in his throat, and let out a breath. “Oh.” he said, hesitating, “Of course. Sure! Why not.”
“Great!” Tubbo said, almost looking a little surprised at the answer, “You can sit there.” He pointed to one of the chairs Wilbur noticed earlier. He sat down as Tubbo riffled through a barrel. Moments passed before Tubbo came back with a book and quill.
“Alright, let’s start at the beginning. What do you remember from being revived?” Tubbo sat down in the other chair, opening the book to the first page.
“Wow. That’s a big question.” Wilbur thought for a moment, “I was in limbo and I saw this train coming.”
Tubbo stopped him, “What does limbo look like?”
Wilbur thought it was obvious what limbo looked like, but he spent thirteen and a half years in that place, and the boy in front of him probably never thought about that horrible place. “Well, to me, it’s this train platform. Hm- it was somewhat of a subway station, but trains pulled in, not subways.” Tubbo nodded as he wrote the information down.
“No matter where I looked, no matter where I went. Just concrete walls all around. And a tube with a track running straight along. But- it didn’t matter what I did. I could claw at the walls, bash on the doors, scream for help.” Wilbur let out a melancholic chuckle as his eyes watered, “I screamed ‘till my lungs were sore and my voice was hoarse.”
Wilbur momentarily wiped the tears out of his eyes, glad Tubbo was looking at his book and not him. “Nothing ever changes, nothing ever comes, nothing ever helps you, Tubbo.” Wilbur took a shaky breath as he ran a hand through his hair.
Tubbo nodded, his voice remaining neutral and focused, “You said trains pull in? Did you ever try to get on them?”
Wilbur nodded vaguely, “Only three trains came in. The first pulled away before I even realized it was there, but Tommy was on it! And it was great! But then- he got on a train and left. I couldn’t even move when I saw it, I felt paralyzed. Somehow I knew the train was Tommy’s even though I deserved to get on there.” Bitterness took the end of Wilbur’s voice, but Tubbo didn’t say anything about it.
Instead, he hummed in acknowledgment, “What did the train look like? Was there anything unusual about it?”
Wilbur tilted the chair back slightly, looking at the ceiling, “I don’t think so? I couldn’t see it very well, I got too euphoric about the idea that I didn’t pay attention. The inside of the train was made out of dark oak. The seats were a dark green- sort of like a forest green.”
“And you got on the third train or a different one?”
“The third one, it’s the only one I could get on. When I saw the train pulling in, I was so thrilled. I could barely even feel my legs as I ran there. There was this weird guy though. When the train stopped, he was thrown on the ground. I saw two people including the weird one on that train. The weird one was a desaturated me. Just rolling into my town! Just browsing in by my limbo.”
Wilbur exhaled, the feeling of being alive coursing through him once again, “It’s weird, his face was steaming with tears. T-They looked like they were burning him?”
Although he didn’t mean to ask the question, Ghostbur responded with quietness in his voice, “Yeah. I don’t like them very much.”
Wilbur sniffled, “But you know who else was on that train? The one conducting the train, the one who let me out, Tubbo.”
Tubbo momentarily looked up from his book, “Who?”
“Dream.” Although everyone said the masked man was horrible and deserved to rot in an obsidian prison for the rest of his life, a grin slipped on his face when he said his name. “It was Dream. My hero, my fucking hero Dream, saved me!” Ghostbur’s breath hitched and Tubbo tensed. While Wilbur felt like he won the lottery of life. His chest heaved as he continued, “Oh my that decade of waiting, I thought I wanted to die. I thought I wanted to die all those years ago, but now I’ve seen what hell is! Now I’ve seen the other side. I’ve been given a new lease on life! There’s so many things I’m going to do, there’s so many great things, I can’t even begin to describe them.” While Wilbur’s face was beaming with happiness, Tubbo’s showed a worry that gently shook in the silence between them.
Words were escaping Wilbur almost on instinct, and perhaps he shouldn’t have said as much as he said, but if Tubbo wanted knowledge, knowledge should be shared. And in a sense, saying it all out loud served as a reminder. That perhaps Wilbur’s fragile connections didn’t matter much in the end, because the euphoria of being alive still lingered in his chest.
Tubbo looked back down at his book, scribbling some things for a few moments, flipping the page. “Are there- alright- sorry, one second.” Tubbo took a shaky breath, putting down the quill for a moment. He leaned back in his chair, rubbing his hands over his eyes. After a few seconds passed, Tubbo sat normally. Wilbur slightly wilted at the beginnings of tears in Tubbo’s eyes, but he didn’t bother to say anything about it. Especially when he only momentarily met Wilbur’s gaze, focusing right back onto the book.
Tubbo inhaled slowly as he fiddled with the page, “Are there any side effects to you coming back? Like- does anything feel different?” He looked towards the book with unsure eyes, but Wilbur shrugged it off.
“Hm.” There was a fucking ghost in his head, that was a start. Not that he was going to say that. Perhaps an implication, but he wasn’t going to explain it fully. “I’m not really sure. I mean sometimes I think that Ghostbur, the desaturated me… is there with me in spirit if that makes sense?”
Tubbo furrowed his brow, but he remained focused on the book, “Elaborate please.”
“Well, I feel like he’s in my head a little bit. Like as if we’re sharing the same experiences, and he knows what I’m going through.”
Tubbo nodded bluntly stating, “So you’re experiencing a divide in identity. As if your body isn’t your own?”
Wilbur frantically shook his head, “No no, I still control my body. I still have my thoughts to myself. I just feel like Ghostbur’s still here in a way.” His shoulders untensed as he let out a breath. He wasn’t sure what he was trying to say or explain. The words had likely been far too risky in the first place. He’d gotten carried away. “It’s probably just because people talk about him sometimes, you know?”
Tubbo looked up from his book, skepticism filling his eyes, “Oh I gotcha.” He wrote something else down, but Wilbur felt like the boy didn’t understand what he was saying at all.
There was a confused sound in Wilbur’s mind. “But… I’m with you! Aren’t I?” the words came out with a strained melancholy, but Wilbur didn’t respond.
“On the subject of Ghostbur, do you have any of his memories?” Tubbo asked, “He had some of yours after all.”
Wilbur inhaled through his nose. “Some,” he said shortly, thinking of the vague sensations, and the memories that felt as if he was trapped inside someone else. Trapped inside a cage, unable to do what he wanted. Yet, he didn’t have many. The most detailed ones weren't memories at all, but rather Ghostbur’s own words, provoking images that might’ve been real. “It’s all a bit vague still, but I do remember it. Almost like watching in the third person, or watching as your body moves without you.” As he said the words, he felt quick images flash by in his mind. Anger he couldn’t feel, and words that seemed far off. Watching the people he knew suffer, though he wasn’t sure who or why, and perhaps it didn’t matter.
“Any specific events?” Tubbo asked.
While the memories were right at the tip of his tongue, there was very little he could recall directly. Though Ghostbur had filled him in at least a little bit, so he should account for that. “They’re not that specific but I feel as if some of them are coming back.” Wilbur said, “I remember the sheep thing. Who was it, Friend?” he let out a quick laugh.
Tubbo nodded and wrote something down again. “I see.”
There was silence for a bit before Wilbur broke in. “Have you asked Tommy about this whole revival business? He went through it as well after all, and didn’t spend quite as long as I did in limbo.”
Tubbo tensed up. “Ah, a bit.” his professional tone wavered, “He uh… He’s not too fond of talking about it as of now. So, he prefers it when people don’t ask.” he smiled hesitantly, though the boy clearly looked troubled.
“Oh,” Wilbur said quietly. For a brief moment, he recalled the fearful anger in Tommy’s eyes from earlier, but he quickly let the thought dissolve.
“How long did you spend in limbo, again?” Tubbo asked.
“Thirteen and a half years.” Wilbur answered without any hesitation, “I counted the days,”
“How exactly did you do that? Could you see the sun?”
“There was a clock.” Wilbur responded briefly, “I couldn’t see what day it was but I could see the hours. I could feel it. And there was a faint light somewhere in the distance I could never quite reach.” He remembered it clearly, as he watched hours pass. Days upon days, months upon months.
“Okay.” Tubbo said with a nod, “Tommy said two months in limbo were two days here. I’m not sure if it’s still accurate for yours since I can’t really do the math right now, but it could vaguely be a limbo month equals a real day here.”
Wilbur almost pointed out that limbo was real and it was realer than anything Tubbo had ever experienced, but he only squinted as he tried to think. “I think that’s true.” he said, “Tommy mentioned his limbo was just a black void, but I did let him know much time had passed.”
It would be beneficial for Wilbur to know exactly how time passed differently. Perhaps it would help him when he communicated with Ghostbur, or when he tried to find a way to separate them. Then again, the thought of the passage of time, and the lengthy silence Ghostbur experienced, made Wilbur yearn to think of something else, whenever the thought passed his mind. “If you somehow learn anything else I…” he paused, “Tell me. I’m curious,” he said, his mouth curving up. Information. He needed more information, to fix all of it.
Tubbo looked at Wilbur for a little while, before nodding. “Of course.” he said, “Anything else you want to add?”
“Nope, I think that covers all of it,” Wilbur said, unsure what else there was to say.
“I’m here! We can talk and everything. That might be relevant!”
Tubbo wrote a few more lines in the book, “Great! Thanks, big man.” He closed it, putting it in a chest nearby. Wilbur got up and skimmed the bookshelf sleeves. There were quite a decent amount of books. They seemed to be chronological as well. Well- as chronological as they could be. Some of the books on the bottom shelf all seemed to be about science rather than history with titles like, “Hybrids” and “The End”. Wilbur heard ages ago it was some sort of other dimension that was similar to the Nether but had a dragon and creatures that made you float if they hit you. It was probably less scientific than the other books, filled with legended fables and short stories since as far as he knew, the End was only a fairytale world Phil told him about as a kid to help him sleep.
The shelf above had the names of all the wars they’d been through, with some of them being long enough for two books. Now that he looked at it, all the books seemed to be around four hundred pages. Wilbur let out a surprised noise, causing Tubbo to look over.
He walked to where Wilbur was standing, “Everything alright?”
Wilbur nodded, “I was just looking at all the books you’ve got. Are all of them full?”
Tubbo looked bashfully, despite the proud look in his eyes, “I mean, some more than others, but in general, I just write any information I can find. A lot of the originals were destroyed a while back, so they’re a bit incomplete. Interviews fill up most of it.”
Wilbur’s eyes focused on a book that stood at the end of the middle shelf, titled, ‘The Destruction of L’Manberg’. Wilbur pointed to the book that grabbed most of his attention. He caught a smile across his own face  “Can I read a bit?” He asked, glancing at Tubbo, “I know it’s a bit macabre but… You know that morbid fascination with what people would say about you after you’re dead? I just wanna know what people thought after everything I did.”
Tubbo seemed hesitant but nodded anyway. “I’ll be downstairs if you need me.” He walked downstairs, and as soon as Wilbur couldn’t see him anymore, he felt an odd sense of relief. Information was an old comfort to him. The side that won the war always had more information. Knowing what the other side had for breakfast was almost just as important as finalizing your battle plans. And in truth, the idea of obituaries or requiems from his enemies was something that made him want to laugh.
And now, with so much knowledge in front of him, he grabbed the book that lingered in his mind.

You can count on me (I will be there for you)
Penultimate chapter, here we go! Discoveries are made, and they’re not for the best. Hope you enjoy!
Special thanks to the lovely @theanxiouscupcake for helping me figure out the ending :)

Chapter 8
Ladybug helplessly watches Chat sink out of sight, and she knows he won’t find anything good, wherever he’s headed. It’s less of a gut feeling (what honest person has secret mechanisms lying around their house in fiction, not to mention real life?) than an informed guess based on what she’s holding.
She’d hit the jackpot in Nathalie’s room. The envelopes she found weren’t empty, but they didn’t contain blackmail destined to Ladybug; it was clearly targeted at Hawkmoth and Mayura. Given that they’d all been opened with a paper knife, she doubted that Nathalie had been on the sending end.
The Peacock brooch she’d found in her nightstand, along with Duusuu, had done nothing to help Marinette in her quest for an explanation that could disculpate her.
She knows she's found what she needed, but it really feels like a Pyrrhic victory.
“Chat Noir? Is everything alright?” Max’s voice over the comms snaps her out of her thoughts.
There’s a tense silence as they wait for an answer, which she decides to break after a couple of minutes, for her own sanity.
“So, what did you find?” She asks, eyeing Markov. The robot is holding a USB key, which is unusual, since Max generally uses him directly as a memory source when needed. She doesn’t doubt that he also carries a copy of the data they’ve found, meaning that the information must be very important.
“An annotated digital copy of a Miraculous book, very expensive and regular butterfly orders, Hawkmoth redesign costumes, and elaborate plans to defeat you and Chat Noir.” Her friend enumerates. It all checks out. “Oh, and some music videos starring Hawkmoth.”
“What?” She frowns.
“It’s very disturbing.” Max grimaces.
Her next question is barely formulated in her head when Chat Noir’s voice reaches them. “Guys?”
“Chaton!” She refocuses on him immediately. “Are you alright?”
“I’ve found something.” His voice is strained.
“Don’t move, we’re coming.” She runs towards where the platform had been mere minutes ago, looking around frantically for the trigger mechanism.
Max puts a hand on her shoulder to calm her down. “Could you just tell us how to join you?” He asks.
Chat explains the steps in a monotonous voice that worries Max and Ladybug enough that they decide to ride the elevator together. It’s a little cramped, but the quicker they get to him, the better.
The tube quickly opens and they step out into what looks like an attic in a flutter of white butterfly wings.
Chat Noir has his back to them, his suit looking darker than usual in the backlight. He turns around from the truly impressive window he was looking out from when he hears them, a sad smile pulling at his lips.
“This doesn’t really look like a good guy’s den, does it?” He tries to joke.
“It does look a little suspicious,” she concedes.
“Did Adrien ever tell you his Dad was a lepidopterologist?” Max asks, a butterfly landing on his outstretched hand, as if he’s still trying to find a rational explanation for the situation that doesn't involve Gabriel Agreste being Hawkmoth.
“A what?” Chat looks at him, perplexed.
“A lepidopterologist,” his friend repeats. “Someone who studies butterflies.”
“Nope, I don’t think he has a clue.” He shakes his head and clears his throat. “But anyway, what did you guys find? Anything interesting?”
Ladybug hands him the envelopes and the brooch. His eyes fly over the letters’ contents, his expression indescifrable, while Max repeats his own findings.
“Max, what is the probability that Gabriel and Nathalie are just storing stuff for Hawkmoth and Mayura?” Chat asks gently, folding the letters again and giving them back to her. She sticks them in her yoyo for safe-keeping.
“I’d say about 0,0152%.” Max announces after a couple of seconds.
“That’s not very much.” He grimaces.
“Good thing Adrien didn’t come with us.” Ladybug whispers. “It’s… a lot to take in.”
“Sure is.” He sighs.
“Everyone, there seems to be another shaft here.” Markov interrupts them, flashing a red light to indicate his position in one of the dark corners of the room.
They walk towards him and study their surroundings, Max spotting the associated buttons first. Chat figures that it can’t bring them back to the study; it’s too far away from the first one.
“Multiple levels? What kind of evil lair is this?” Ladybug mutters.
“A professional one, that’s for sure.” Max replies. “Should we check it out?”
Ladybug looks at the time on her bug phone. They’re still doing okay, having been particularly efficient with their search. Or just very lucky that Hawkmoth and Mayura are bad at hiding compromising evidence.
She activates her microphone. “Nino, Kagami?”
“Yes, Marinette?” Kagami’s voice is prompt to reply.
“How are things going?”
“Not too bad, I think. Nino’s keeping Gabriel occupied, and I’m keeping an eye on Nathalie. They don’t seem to be in any rush to leave.”
“That’s good to hear.” She sighs in relief.
“How about you guys? Is Chat okay?”
“Right as rain.” Chat Noir chimes in. “We just have one more thing to investigate and we’ll be back.”
“Okay, cool. Keep us posted!” Kagami replies.
“You too.”
There’s a little static as Chat releases his microphone button.
“Right, so that’s sorted. I’ll go first.” Ladybug states more than she volunteers, calling the lift. She suspects Chat Noir would have liked to lead the way, but he’s a little pale for her liking, and Kwami knows what they’ll find on the other end.
“Are you sure?” He looks at her, contrasting emotions flickering in his eyes. On the one hand, he seems to be relieved that she’s taking charge of the exploration, but on the other hand, she knows he must be worried about her going first.
"You guys will be right down, it’s fine.” She smiles and squeezes his arm lightly, before entering the elevator capsule.
She’s surrounded by darkness for the first part of the journey, but the dim lighting of the lift is oddly comforting; she finds herself thinking that it might relieve Chat Noir’s claustrophobia.
The tube then transitions to transparency, and she’s suddenly looking out onto one of the largest and oddest rooms she’s ever seen, if ‘room’ is even the right word for it. The space looks like some kind of underground church, with its metal nave extending above a body of water and leading to a little garden, centred around a large tubular object. The latter is overseen by a large window that reminds her of the one up in the attic, except the panes are blocked off. It isn’t dark, though; a ray of light shines from above, and dim lights are regularly spaced along the sides of the room.
The elevator doors open and Ladybug steps out unsurely, not daring to venture too far. She feels very small as she waits for Chat Noir and Max, and a little uncomfortable, like she just broke into a sacred place. She untenses a little when they join her.
“What is this place?” Chat Noir lets out a low whistle as he takes in the grandeur of the space.
“It looks like some kind of underground crypt.” Max pushes his glasses back up on his nose. “We’re really not far from the Marais, maybe this was a church that sunk at some stage and was built over?”
Ladybug nods. It seems like a decent explanation.
Chat’s gut twists as he takes a couple of steps forward. He has an awful feeling about what lays at the end of the bridge, yet he’s inexplicably drawn to it. Ladybug and Max follow him carefully as he makes his way towards it.
The tube at the end of the way looks a lot like a coffin, they realise, and as they approach it, they must have triggered some motion detector, for its cover recedes, revealing a seemingly sleeping woman.
And not just any woman.
Emilie Agreste.
She’s dressed in a white suit, a slight smile on her lips, and holds a large bouquet of white and red flowers. She looks so peaceful, so beautiful. So like her portraits. Ladybug half expects her to wake up, green eyes twinkling as she welcomes them.
Next to her, Chat Noir’s breath hitches and his hand extends to touch the glass, a tear rolling down his cheek. It shatters as it lands on the coffin.
“You’re here.” He whispers.
Ladybug shares a look with Max, who encourages her to step forward with a nod. She does, lacing her fingers through Chat’s free hand and giving it a squeeze.
“I didn’t realise you were this close.” Her voice is barely above a murmur as another tear hits the coffin. Anything louder would feel disrespectful. Chat just nods in reply.
From this angle, she realises, Emilie looks just like Adrien; same fine features, same kind smile, same blond hair. She can’t help but understand why it must have been hard for Gabriel Agreste to look his son in the eye, at first.
“Um, guys?” Nino’s voice breaks the silence, making them jump. “I think we’ve maxed out the small talk. Kagami’s trying to hold off Nathalie but Gabe is just openly avoiding me now. Can we give them a bit of a breather?”
“Absolutely not.” Chat’s reply is icy as he angrily wipes his tears with the heel of his hand. “We’ll be right back, just need to call the police. Do not let them out of your sight, especially Gabriel. He might have his Miraculous on him.”
“Oh dude, I’m so sorry.”
“It’s fine.” He takes a shaky breath. Marinette gives his hand another squeeze and takes her yoyo out. She spots Max taking out his phone out of the corner of her eye and turns towards him slightly, blinking gratefully at him. Chat doesn’t seem to be in the right frame of mind to call the police himself. She calls Rena Rouge.
“LB?” Her friend answers immediately.
“Alya? Are you in my room?”
“Yes, need anything?”
“Could you get the Bee Miraculous in my sewing box, please? I’ll send you the code.”
“Sure. Do you want me to go downstairs and give it to Chloé? Or should I stay put?”
“We’re going to need you downstairs, but make sure no one sees you yet. We need all hands on deck for this.” She takes a deep breath. “And make sure Adrien’s safe for me?”
“Will do.”
She hangs up just as Max calls his transformation.
“There’s a unit on its way here, and another heading for the Château. They’re warning the police officers who are already on site, they’re going to start closing off the exits. They said they’d take the evidence from us over there.” Her friend reports.
“Good.” She says, and she sees Chat Noir nod next to her, eyes still aimed at the coffin. “Let’s go, then.”
Pegasus invokes his powers and jumps through the portal. Chat Noir tears his gaze from Emilie and goes to follow him.
Ladybug holds him back before he can step through. “Are you sure you’re going to be okay, Chaton?”
“I just need to end this once and for all.” He smiles sadly and kisses her forehead tenderly, before taking her hand and helping her through.
He turns around and blows Emilie a last kiss before joining his wife.

My Pilot
Poe Dameron x Reader
A/N: this is the first time I’ve ever done head cannons and written starwars. This is relatively long and I’m not super proud of the ending. Same as last time I tried to keep it gender neutral so if there are any pronouns for the reader other than they/them please let me know so I can fix it. Also requests are open.
Warnings: death, angst, reader is pretty malnourished in the beginning, there isn’t a ton of dialogue, hinted use of a sedative, hospitals, passing out, talk of execution, angst, fluff.
Now you had lived on Hosnian Prime for about as long as you could remember
You didn’t live directly in the city but more in the countryside
So when the first order invaded your planet your small town was one of the first to be taken over
Now it was important to note that your mother and father had fought for the resistance against the empire all those years ago and you had kept your father’s resistance jacket.
So it wasn’t helpful that if you were discovered to have any links to the resistance, old or new, that you would be executed
You weren’t going to get rid of the jacket, it was the last piece you had of your parents
Though 5 days later when the first order came knocking on your door you realized that you probably should have done something smarter with it than just hide the jacket under a loose floorboard in your bedroom
They asked if it was fine to do a random search to make sure you weren’t hiding any illegal contraband
They were in your house for maybe ten minutes before they found the jacket
You had a fast and unfair trial where you were quickly sentenced to death
Your parents would be so disappointed if they knew you just stopped fighting
You stopped caring about what happened to yourself.
They stored you in what used to be the small city jail and kind of forgot about you
You had no clue how many days had passed or what season you were in now
The only time you really felt something was when one of the guards came in and told you that you had three days left
You just nodded and went back to sleeping, tears staining your cheeks
Death was scary, man how could you not be scared
So much to your surprise a little while later a loud bang woke you up
Shooting up you looked around for somewhere to hide and when you realized there was nowhere you backed yourself into the corner of the old cell
‘Was this the end’ you wondered in the longest three minutes of all time as you waited to see what had caused the large noise
So when a man wearing the ugliest shade of orange you ever had the misfortune of laying your eyes across slid into your view
Let’s just say your interest was quite peaked
He started yelling that there wasn’t time to waste and you just raised your eyebrows
He managed to get your cell open and grabbed your hand pulling you through the building, turning around every few seconds to make sure that you hadn't died
When you stepped outside the first thing you felt was shock
At the time of your arrest and trial, it had been in the dead of winter and from the looks of it it was almost summer
The second thing you felt was self-conscious about how you looked and smelled, you weren't going to deny the man in front of you was quite hot regardless of the blood and sweat all over his suit
The third thing you felt was pain
The sunlight felt far too bright and it blinded you for about a minute and then started to give you a pounding headache
Keeping your eyes shut you just trusted your rescuer to help guide you so that you wouldn't have to open your eyes and face the bright suns beating down on you
You had no clue how long you were running for all you knew was that it was a long time and a while back you cut your leg on a bush or something
You opened your eyes a little later and saw that you were face to face with an x-wing
He climbed up and started hitting different switches trying to prepare the ship for take-off
He shouted down to you to hop up and that one you were safely in hyperspace he would help you clean your leg
Grabbing the later you swung your body into the ship and strapped yourself in
You heard shouts coming from a distance and your eyes widened
You didn’t want to rush him but you were starting to get scared
Right as the stormtroopers started to approach where you were the ship shot up off the ground
When the shit started to leave the planet’s atmosphere you started to get a little dizzy
Lights started swimming in your vision and you reached for the sides of the ship to help steady yourself
Right as the pilot turns around and starts to ask a question you slump forward in your seat a pounding headache causing you to pass out
You woke up strapped to a bed in a very strange place that smelt strangely of lemons
Citrus smell set aside a strange place is still a strange place 11/10 would not recommend
After quickly shaking your head to clear the fuzzy feeling you started to struggle in an attempt to escape the straps that kept you tied to the cot
Before you could even manage to undo the first one though the pilot came running in along with a nurse and one or two more people
The pilot put his hand on your forehead telling you that your okay and that the nurse was just going to give you something to help you calm down
You stop struggling but only because a large sleepy feeling is taking over you
Your holding onto the cliff of consciousness with only your fingertips you can feel the pilot smoothing his hand over your forehead telling you that it's okay to let go and that he’ll be here when you wake up
The cliff breaks and as the last pebbles fall into the dark abyss of sleep you fall with them.
Waking up round two is a little better
You look over and see the pilot asleep in a chair next to you, snoring softly
It’s endearing honestly
Without all of life’s stresses and the fate of the galaxy resting on his shoulders he looked way younger
Earlier when the two of you were racing against stormtroopers and fighting to escape your planet he was hot
But now he was just plain cute
You coughed slightly and he jolted out of his sleep
He hit a button above his head before sitting up and stretching
He looked down at you and you looked up at him with a questioning look
“Your safe, they aren’t gonna hurt you anymore,” he replied back down to you in a soft tone
Oh thank the gods
The two of you just stared at each other for a few more minutes before a nurse came in and kicked him out so she could do an examination without him distracting her
She started asking you questions about when you last ate, how much fluid you had consumed in the past day, etc.
It was hard to answer
She talked about how you would need to be fed through a tube to help get your strength back up but once you got back to a sustainable weight you would be able to start eating solid food again
You nodded at the appropriate time trying to show your focus but your mind was elsewhere
You couldn’t stop thinking about the pilot
You think somewhere in her information dump she realized that you were thinking about completely off-topic things
She made to leave and right as she was about to swing out the door you opened your mouth
For the first time in months, you started to speak
You croaked out a gentle “where am I?”
Your nurse smiled at you and replied “Oh honey, you’re on the resistance base.” she left the room without another word and you shut your eyes as you smiled feeling small tears of joy seep out of your eyes
The pilot would come and visit you almost every day and tell you about everything and nothing from small things like what some of the members of his squadron did at lunch to things like his family back home on Yavin 4, to occasionally stories about his mother who was in the resistance along with your parents.
Even when he couldn’t be there due to missions he would always write you a letter before you left, telling you to keep your head up and that he would be back soon to tell you about all the stars
Every time you missed him you would read his letters, sometimes your shoulders would shake with silent tears, and others with full out laughing fits at the small jokes he would put in there.
He once told you that you were the first person he would come see after he returned regardless of what he had to do once he returned
In the very beginning, he would come to you straight after he landed but the smell of gasoline gave you a headache and that gods-awful flight suit made you want to kick him so you told the nurse to make sure that he showered after returning from a mission before coming to see you
You hadn’t worked up the nerve to talk to the pilot yet. You were worried that he would see you as all healed up and abandon you for the next person he saw who he fancied, you heard the nurses gossip sometimes about him
NOT to imply that the pilot fancied you, nor you him.
You didn’t like him, nope not one bit
You told yourself this all the time but the moment he flashed that damn smile at you it was like the wall you had built around your heart constructed exactly with those words would fall a small bit and once he left you would have to spend hours reconstructing it by telling yourself that he was just watching over you to make sure that you pulled through and then he would leave you in the dust
Love was scary
But when your pilot came to visit you he would talk and talk and talk, and when he wasn’t there? You would fantasize a life with him once this war was over
When you started calling him your pilot?
Honestly couldn’t tell you the line was kinda blurred
You would tell yourself every time he would come that this would be the time you talked to him
It never happened
You were talking plenty now
You would talk to the nurses when they would bring you food or come check on you
It was just nerve racking to talk to your pilot
But when he came in next time, with an encouraging nod from your nurse, you replied to something he said
He just asked a question about what you ate
Normally he would just throw in that question before telling you about what the cafeteria had for breakfast
Before he could answer his own question you just replied quietly “toast and eggs”
He started to answer his question before doing a double take and looking back down at you
“You talk?” you just smiled at him playfully, reveling in his shock for a moment
It wasn’t nearly as bad as you anticipated
After that conversation came far easier
Now at this point your probably able to walk around the infirmary and the base during night when there isn’t as many people
But the fateful day came where it was suggested that you eat in the cafeteria
Yeah you thought taking was hard? This felt nearly impossible
Luckily you were able to come to a compromise and you would wake up early and go eat before most people got up
So there you were standing in front of a display of food with almost no one else around
You felt like a fish out of water and at peace at the same time
You just grabbed the first peace of fruit you saw and a small slice of bread before going to sit down
You started to calm down and eat in peace
You were in your own little world so when you felt a hand on your shoulder you practically fell out of your seat you jumped so high
There, your pilot was standing looking surprised
He gestured next to you and you just nodded your head
The two of you quickly recovered and soon enough he was talking your head off, telling you about a crazy dream he had
Your pilot made you feel very comfortable
So you started to eat breakfast with him every day
This quickly became lunch
And dinner
This was how you met his squadron
You became quick friends with most of them
These meals quickly became apart of your daily routine
You looked forward to seeing your pilot and his friends
So when your pilot did not show up for 4 days straight you started to worry
You were able to catch snap in the hallway one day before dinner and ask where he was
He told you that he was on a solo mission but he should be back in a couple of days
So when he didn’t show up nearly two weeks later you started to get worried
Snap told you that he had been lost in action and if they didn’t hear from him in a week he would be declared dead
You felt empty
You wanted to feel something
Anything
But you just felt empty
You quietly thanked snap and just went about your day
You didn't speak for a while after he told you
They held a small ceremony for Poe
But after that everyone just kind of forgot
it felt like there wasn’t nearly as much joy in the base as before
The squad gave up on trying to get you to talk
You stopped coming to meals daily
You would maybe show up for dinner once a week
You just shut down
You started to run
You hated running but it was a good distraction
You would run around the base four times once a day
And one time during your run you heard a speaker in the communication center crackle to life
You slowed down but didn’t stop
So when you heard your pilots voice over the speaker you ran straight into a wall
Everyone stopped what they were doing
He was requesting access to land
His squadron was in the room
They all looked at each other trying to figure out what to do before snap gave the go ahead
He made eye contact with you before the entire squadron started running towards the hanger
You made it there first and watched his x-wing, looking a little worse for wear, land
He crawled out of the hatch as people started rushing around trying to help him or look at the damaged ship
His squadron started hugging him and asking him questions
You started to turn around, you obviously offered no help here you could see him later
Little did you know your pilot was just trying to shake everyone off so he could get to you
You pressed the button to open the door but before you could get through a hand grabbed your shoulder
You turned around and there he was
Blood coating his forehead, his clothes a mess but somehow still smiling
You started to tell him off, saying that he needed to get checked out and make sure that he was okay and then check in with his squadron, after that he needed to clean himself off, change, and he looked like he could use some sleep and you told him as much. You should definitely be at the bottom of his list of important things to accomplish
He cut off your rambling by grabbing your chin and putting his mouth to yours
You squeaked in surprise and froze for a second before melting into his warm embrace
He smelt like gasoline and saltwater
You pulled away and looked at him
He smiled at you and you knew in that moment that you would have hung all the stars and suns in the galaxy if it meant he would smile at you like that again
He started to talk about how there was this great place to eat a few planets away and how the entire time he was away you were all he could think about, and he knew in his mind that when he got back if he didn't even try to talk to you about the feelings he had bottled up that he might just combust.
You just smiled again and nodded
He hugged you again and you just squeezed him right back
You felt the stars align and as you gripped the jacket he was wearing that was so similar to your fathers you felt a feeling you hadn’t felt in so long
Hope.

Breaking the One Damn Rule (Part 11)
Read Part 10
A/N: Happy Fic Friday! Two weeks in a row! It’s also my birthday tomorrow and will hopefully be celebrating with a charcuterie/cheese board and wine!
Sure, you’re 100% down with having Pietro Maximoff’s baby—you couldn’t imagine anyone else fathering your children. But neither of you planned for this, you’re not even supposed to be together according to the Avengers. Finding out while Pietro was away on a mission was bad enough and now telling him during an attack, with your future family in danger, was not what you had in mind; and this is exactly why they forbid Pietro from having serious relationships in the first place. Whoops.
Tumblr media
Pairing: Pietro x Reader
Warning: Kidnapping children, trauma, language
Words: 1,500ish
The skies had opened up over the city of New York City that early evening and never let up. An even bigger storm brewing behind the horizon of skyscrapers. Rain pelted against your window as a streak of lightning lit up your dim hospital room, followed by a sharp clap of thunder. Sharp enough to wake the dead.
Sharp enough to wake you from your comatose state.
Your eyelids felt like they had been glued together. When you opened them, they were out of focus and it took a moment for your eyes to adjust. Where were you? Where was Pietro?
Flowers covered every open counter space and a dozen of assorted baskets littered the floor. There was one that contained muffins and your stomach growled at the sight.
Your hand strayed down to your abdomen to rub your bump and it never reached one. Your stomach, though not as flat as it had been prior to pregnancy, was flat. All of a sudden it became hard to breathe and something was beeping in the distance.
What had happened? Where was Pietro? Where was your baby? When you tried to sit up it, a tube stopped you from ripping your blanket off.
You looked down at your hands to see an IV and a pulse oximeter. You were in the hospital? How long had you been here?
It didn’t matter, you had to get out. You had to get to Pietro and your baby. Your baby had to be with him, and safe, right? You ripped out the offending tubing, and swung your legs off the side of the bed, and pushed off.
The door to your room opened and your gaze met the familiar fatherly face of one Clint Barton.
“Y/N!” Clint dropped the cup of coffee in his hand and rushed over as you began to teeter. “You’re awake!”
“Where’s my baby?” Your voice was low and shaking, you could barely hear yourself. As if you were already afraid that you knew the answer.
“Please lay back down, Y/N. You’re looking a bit pale.” Clint tried to guide you back to the bed.
You jerked your arms away, leaving a smear of blood on Clint’s arm.  “No! Tell me, Clint.”
“Only if you get back in bed.” Clint saw the manic look in your eyes and was afraid that if he said anything you would fall apart before him.
You lowered yourself onto the edge of your bed. Your baby had to be with Pietro. That could be the only possibility.
Clint gently pushed your back into the bed, covering you back up with the blanket. He swung a chair next to your bed and took a deep breath. “Y/N, what’s the last thing you remember?”
Your memory was murky and you tried to grasp onto any piece of memory. “Hydra attacking the restaurant. I fired Tony’s repulsor hoping to cause enough of a distraction.”
“Y/N,” Clint took your hand, “You’ve been comatose for almost a month.”
“A month?” you echoed back, “I’ve missed that much time? How’s Pietro handling being a dad on his own?”
Clint took a deep breath. He did not want to be the one to tell you, but Pietro and Wanda were across the world if he had to guess, which left him as the next person in line to tell you. “Y/N, we found you… alone. Hydra left you to die, Pietro found you just in time.”
“By alone you mean…”  Your voice caught in your throat.
“I’m sorry, Y/N. Pietro and Wanda are out looking for them right now. As soon as you stabilized, they started following any lead they could. Last we heard they were in Nepal. I will have Nat send out a message that you woke up.” Clint squeezed your hand. “I can’t even imagine what your feeling right now, but we’re all here for you and they’re going to find them. Pietro and Wanda are strong on their own as is, but together and out for vengeance, they are unstoppable. When we first met them, when they were under Hydra, they gave us a run for our money. They also took Vision with them.”
“When you say looking for them—”
“It was twins, we don’t know how to explain it. Wanda saw it in your head.”
You swallowed the tightness in your throat. “I’ll take your word for it.” The hollow chuckle that bubbled out of you terrified Clint. “Clint?”
“Yes?”
“I want you and Nat to train me. I’m not going to sit idly by.”
Clint saw the spark of anger in your eyes and the determination set in your jaws. He wasn’t sure how to react. He could handle crying, but this was rage brewing. Much like your other half, he assumed you were a force to reckoned with when provoked. “You need to heal before anything.”
That would buy him some time. Pietro should be able to get back to you before then. Clint wouldn’t dare do anything to piss Pietro off and letting you hurt yourself would definitely do it.
“Heal?” You questioned.
Clint gave you a perplexed look. “Y/N, you were cut open.”
“It doesn’t feel like it.” You didn’t feel any pain.
“Maybe it’s the shock?”
You pressed your lower abdomen. “I had my appendix taken out in college, and that hurt. Now… now I feel nothing.”
“Um, I’m going to get your nurse.” Clint shot off the chair and out the door.
****
The moment Pietro received word you had woken up he made plans to get back to you. Wanda wanted to come too, but Pietro wanted her to keep looking for the twins. They were in deep, trying to find Hydra hideouts and it had taken almost three weeks for Pietro to get Nat’s message.
He practically ran back to you, save for the ocean he had to get over. He took one flight and started running as soon he got out of the terminal.
Pietro had prepared to see you broken and inconsolable. Steve was waiting by the elevator as Pietro arrived. “Cap?”
“Welcome back, anything?”
“Nope, look I’d love to chat, but I need to get to Y/N.” Pietro turned to walk down the hallway to your room, but Steve stopped him.
“She’s not in her room. Come with me.” Steve lead Pietro back to the elevator and to the 15th floor.
“Why is she on the training floor?” Pietro’s jaw tightened. He thought he had left you in good hands. “She should be resting.”
“You can bring that up with her. We tried.” Steve pulled him over to one of the simulation mazes.
Pietro looked at the tracking monitors to see you suited up, working your way through the maze with Clint and Nat. “Are you fucking crazy?! Get her out of there!”
“This isn’t her first go.” Steve motioned to the hologram with your stats. Not as good as Clint and Nat’s, obviously, but you had excellent marksmanship and your hand to hand combat was ranked above Tony’s out of the suit. “You’re free to end the simulation—”
Pietro slammed his hand on the stop button and glared at Steve. “I am not happy about this.”
“Clearly.” Steve grimaced.
The lights went on in the simulation maze. Making it hard to see, you had been doing a night test. “Steve, what the fu—”
“Draga!” That voice made your heart skip a beat. You didn’t even see him coming. In a split second, you were in his arms being squeezed tightly. Your face nestled into his chest.
“Piet.” You melted into him, having to bury your tears deeper and deeper. Now was not the time.
“You should be resting,” he softly growled in your ear.
“I missed you too,” you whispered back.
Pietro let go after a lingering kiss to your temple as he breathed you in again. “Seriously, explain. Clint, I put you in charge of her care, and I come home to find she’s been simulating?”
“Pietro, don’t be mad. I begged.” You finally got a good look at him. He was rougher around the edges and he had grown a slight beard. If it hadn’t been caused by your current circumstances, you would have dwelled longer on how ruggedly handsome he looked.
“Oh, that makes it so much better.” Pietro gave you a look. “You need to be taking it easy.”
“I’m fully healed and I’m not going to get hurt,” you countered.
“The last time I saw you, you were on death’s doorstep. It can happen again. It will happen again if you try to get involved with this.” The pain was evident in Pietro’s eyes. He had spent so much time trying to block out the image of you basically lifeless. It would haunt him forever.
“Seriously, I can’t get hurt.” You pulled out a small dagger from your thigh holster and ran it across your palm before Pietro could figure out what you were doing.
“Draga!” He made to grab your wrist, but you turned away. Crimson pooled in your cupped hand for a moment and you wiped it away on your pant leg to reveal no wound.
Pietro grabbed your hand to examine it closely. “What the hell?”

Paper Airplanes and Face Masks (Hournite)
Tumblr media
Summary: Beth has Rick over for the night and is determined to get him in a face mask.
Warnings: Mild allusions to abusive gardian.
Category: Fluff
Note: this is my first attempt at fanfiction, please leave your thought about it below:)
Training lasted longer than usual that day. By the time it was over, the sun was already saying goodbye and slowly receded to the west. Pat had tried his best to make the obstacles more difficult in an effort to mirror what he believed was to come in the battles ahead.
The new JSA tried their best to work with and without their abilities, all while trying to work together as a team. It was challenging to say the least, not many of them had much experience working with others.
Curly blonde locks stuck to Courtney's face as she asked Yolanda if she needed to be driven home. The other girl thankfully accepted the offer before running off to grab her things.
Pat, hearing he was now driving Yolanda, went to the next girl who had no mode of transportation.
"Do you need a ride?" He asked Beth who faced away from him, her eyes instead on the boy leaning on the entrance of the building.
"Oh, no thank you." she replied sweetly.
"Okay, just make sure to get home safe." the man instructed, making his voice loud enough for the boy to hear him as well.
Rick turned his head to Pat, giving him a single nod before pushing himself off the wall and walking out toward the road.
"Will do Mr. Dugan." Beth replied brightly before briskly walking in the direction of the boy, goggles slung around her neck, the straps of her backpack gripped in broth her hands.
She found him standing still outside of the building, staring at his path home with a scowl.
He wasn't all that fond of going back to his house, knowing who would be there when he arrived, though with the hourglass he would be able to defend himself if need be. He quickly found himself sinking into his own mind, the multitude of reasons why that was a very bad idea taking over his thoughts.
His dark thought process was interrupted by a hand delicately brushing against his shoulder.
"Are you okay?" Beth asked in her sweet, yet concerned voice.
Rick nodded curtly and turned his gaze to the ray of sunshine beside him. Beth wore her wide smile and big doe eyes, wearing him down and making him want to tell her everything.
But he didn't, thinking better of it.
"I'm just getting ready to walk home."
"Me too!" she shook her head eagerly.
He nodded once more, awkwardly, in a gesture of understanding.
The two stood in a thick silence, Beth's hands were now shoved deep in her jean pockets as she contemplated opening her mouth again.
Rick began to walk in the direction of his house when Beth let out a quick, "Do you want to come over to my house?"
The boy stilled wondering if Beth had actually offered.
"I mean, you can if you want to. My parents are working tonight, and tomorrow night, and most nights. They've been doing that a lot recently." she laughed in an attempt to hide her sadness.
"It's getting dark, my uncle won't like me out for so long."
He heard the girl shuffle closer.
"You know, if he tries anything, Pat can always take his robot and exchange some...words," she tried. "Or any of us could suit up and do it. Not just for this, just any time you need."
Rick almost laughed, the image of Beth in her costume coming to his door to threaten his uncle, huge goggles and all, entering his head.
"Thanks for the offer, but I'm still not sure that's the best ide-" he stopped himself at the sight of Beth, shoulders slumped, but eyes still bright as ever.
He realized in that moment that she was just like him, lonely and in need of some company.
"Umm...maybe just for tonight." he gave in.
"Yes!" Beth squealed excitedly, hooking her arm through his and turning them in the direction of her house.
As they walked, Beth rattled on about everything from homework to superheroes. Rick had to hold back the smile that threatened to make it's way onto his face at the sound of her enthusiasm.
They made it to Beth's house quite quickly. The girl unlinked their arms and began to rummage through her bag in searched of her keys. Rick wouldn't admit his disappointment at the lack of contact, but he would make note of how he suddenly felt the warmth leave his body when Beth pulled away.
They entered into darkness, no one was home and all the lights were off, Beth haphazardly used her hand to search the wall beside her for the light switch. As she flicked it on, brightness washed over the two. Rick squinted his eyes at the sudden intrusion of light.
"Okay, you can put your stuff here, or you can take it to my room, or just keep it with you. Whatever you want to do." Beth supplied as she began speeding to her kitchen. "Alright, what kind of snacks do you like? We have a bit of everything, sweet, sour, savory. Unless you wanted some dinner, I should have some leftovers from the other day that I could heat up for you." she offered.
"No thanks."
"Are you sure, I have cookies." she called, walking out of the kitchen and holding a clear container filled with some cookies she had caught Rick eyeing the day prior.
This time he couldn't stop his lips from turning upward in a small grin, he nodded his head.
Beth pumped her fist in the air before grabbing Rick's arm and dragging him to her room. She plopped down on her bed opening the container and taking a bite out of the sweet.
"So what do you want to do first?" she questioned, extending the box for Rick to take from. "We can do homework, watch a movie, Chuck has this great karaoke setting-" she gasped. " Ooh, we can do face masks. I was going to do them with Court and Yolanda next weekend but there's no time like the present."
"No."
"What why?"
"Cause I don't want you putting anything on my face."
"But it'll be fun." she tried.
"Nope. Let's just finish the homework and then you can pick a movie." Rick countered.
" How about we finish the homework and then we do face masks."
"Not happening."
"I can help you," she sang "and Chuck knows all the answers."
"Still no." Rick shook his head calmly.
Beth's shoulders slumped but she soon fixed her posture and shrugged. She grabbed her backpack from the side of her bed. She shuffled through it and pulled out her folder full of assignments. She grasped her geometry packet and began working on it. Rick sat down at the foot of the bed, he too got out the homework and began start on the page.
They worked in mostly silence for half an hour, Beth occasionally looking to Chuck for guidance, earning a long and extremely detailed account of every question and answer she asked about. Rick tried his best to focus on the paper in front of him, but he was just plain disinterested in the numbers, letters, and shapes on the page. He instead opted to scribble down the first answers that came to his mind, accuracy be damned, just wanting to finish as soon as possible.
He rubbed his eyes in an attempt to restore the little energy he had before taking out the assignment to no avail. When he looked back to the work, he was surprised to see a paper airplane made out of a sticky note set on top of his work.
He stared at the small plane in front of him before turning his gaze to Beth who was laying on her bed, appearing to be concentrated on the packet on her bed, tapping her pencil on the comforter as she looked over the page.
Rick moved his eyes back to the paper airplane, gingerly unfolding the wings to see in neat handwriting the words,
Face mask plz:)
He snapped his head to the girl who's face was now hidden behind her folder. She peeked her head out shyly only to see Rick rolling his eyes playfully and once again shaking his head no.
Turning his attention back to his homework, Rick wrote down the solutions to three more problems before an airplane landed on his lap.
He haphazardly opened the paper up to read the words,
Please. It'll be really fun. Please.
Before Rick had the chance to reply with a no, yet another airplane cascaded across his field of vision landing just beside his shoe. He leaned to pick it up and undid the neatly folded paper.
Pretty please with cookies on top?
Rick furrowed his brows and turned his body to face to girl, who was now at the foot of the bed, her chin was resting atop the box of cookies from before. Her big eyes and hopeful smile pleaded with him to reconsider.
He caved.
He let his head fall to his chest and pinched the bridge of his nose. He raised one hand and lifted his index finger.
"Once, we do this once."
Beth's entire face lit up as she squealed "Yay!" dashing off her bed she leaned down to give Rick a quick hug before running to get the supplies from her bathroom.
Rick begrudgingly made his way over to the side of her bed and sat down uncomfortably. But if he was being honest, he would do this a thousand times just to see the overjoyed expression that overtook her features at his compliance.
She returned holding a tube in one hand and a brush in another. Rick guessed to brush would be used to apply the mask.
"Okay, you ready?" she asked, popping open the cap and squeezing out a dollop of the mixture onto the brush.
"Why is it green?" Rick interrogated.
"Because it's matcha." Beth said like it was the most obvious thing in the world. At Rick's confused face she explained sweetly, "it's a type of green tea that's really popular to use in face masks."
He nodded cautiously as Beth stepped closer to him. She was directly in front of him as she softly touched the brush to his face. He hissed and pulled back quickly.
"Why is it cold?"
"It's not necessarily that it's cold. It's just that you're hot." Rick's eyebrows shot up. Beth didn't even realize what she had said until he made the gesture. "I didn't mean it like that! Not that you're not, it's just that- ugh, I meant body temperature. The average human body is between 97 and 99 degrees Fahrenheit and this," she held up the face mask tube, "is very much below that temperature." she rambled. "Besides, would you rather this be warm?"
Rick just stayed silent.
Beth gently brushed all around his face, sometimes imploring him to stop scrunching up his face. Rick hated to say it, but it was actually kind of relaxing. There weren't many times where someone tried to take care of him for a change.
"Alrighty, all done." the girl announced, removing the brush from his face and stepping back.
"How long do I have to keep this on for?"
"Until it's completely dry."
"And when is that?"
"Ummm..." Beth searched for an answer. " once it's hard to smile, you should be good to wash it off."
"I don't smile."
"I'm well aware, you can just wait till I take mine off."
She moved over to her mirror and began applying the mask to herself.
"I feel like an idiot." Rick complained.
"You are not, you look super cute!" Beth chided.
"I'm not sure if that's worse."
The boy watched her apply the mask all over her face, he couldn't control the expression of love and adoration that graced his face as he observed her.
He stayed like that for God knows how long until Beth turned to fully face him. He could say with the utmost confidence it was the most adorable thing he had ever seen in his life. Her face was green like his and a wide smile lit up her face.
There was no denying the smitten appearance he held as he gazed at Beth.
He was ripped from his trance when he heard the snap of Beth's phone camera. She smiled cheekily and clasped her hands behind her back.
"Beth." Rick began dangerously. "Don't do it Beth." already knowing she would share the photo.
"Just let me send it to Court and Yolanda." she pleaded.
"No, Beth."
Beth gripped her phone tightly behind her back as her eyes wandered to her open room door. Rick saw the plan forming in her mind and raced to beat her to the door. She ducked under his arm and ran to the bathroom, locking the door behind her.
Rick knocked on the door frantically, "Come on, Beth. What's the point?"
"The point is you look adorable and that is not something that should be hidden from the world. And by world I mean the team." she called from behind the door.
"Beth Chapel I will turn this hourglass over right now and take this door off it's hinges." he said in an attempt to sound threatening.
"We both know you won't," Beth stated matter of factly.
"Dammit." Rick grit his teeth knowing she was right.
He heard the door unlock behind him, Beth wore a wide grin. He groaned, knowing he was completely incapable of actually being mad at her.
"Was it at least a good picture?" he asked, defeated.
"You tell me," Beth instructed, handing over her phone to the boy before slipping past him and back to her room.
The screen showed a picture of Rick, covered in a green face mask. But that's not what really got him. Plastered on his face clear as day was a lovestruck expression that could rival that of Beth's favorite rom-coms.
He sighed, accepting his fate. There would for sure be hell to pay the next day. He was certain Courtney and Yolanda would never let him live it down. But at the moment he wasn't to bothered.
"Is it okay if I put on 'The Breakfast Club'?" He heard from the other room. He lowered the phone and walked back to the room, prepared to spend the rest of the night with the adorable being that was Beth Chapel.
The End ♡
Again I will reiterate, this is my first time posting a fanfic so I would really appreciate some positive feedback, or if there was something you saw that you didn't really like please leave it in the comments, politely please. I am but an emotionally fragile egg trying my best. If you want to see more hournite oneshots or headcanons let me know. Thanks
Sincerely, Tessa.

mascaras the haikyuu queens would borrow from my bag
based on my unhealthy obsession with mascaras (pls someone sponsor me)
also there’s a crack drabble at the end please read it im wheezing
shimizu kiyoko
bombastic by doucce: HAVE YOU SEEN THIS GIRL'S GORGEOUS LASHES im so jealous, anyways this mascara has a good wand and it's really good for achieving a more wispy/voluminous/full look IN LIKE ONE SWIPE WTF THIS IS A GODSEND. literally looks like lash extensions, i could go on and on about this mascara. not flaky and this will survive through workouts! doesn't give you raccoon eyes so it's good ! (coming from an athlete with an oily eyelids so dw i gotchu covered) a personal fav of mine teehee, ranked #1 in my bag.
hitoka yachi
it's real! benefit: this mascara is so so good at lengthening and giving off that natural look, which i think yachi would appreciate because she doesn't like too much attention and it's natural so she can sneak this by her mom nope def not speaking from experience it's really great for beginners, and also very reliable and trustworthy. this lil thing will get the job done, guranteed.
tanaka saeko
better than sex by too faced: this mascara just screams I N T E N S I T Y. it's super voluminizing and gives off the appearance of a fuller lash. on the more dry/creamy side so it's super great for beginners or if ur really hungover. also it's v v reliable, will give you wispy lashes every time! my go to when im late which is everyday but we don't talk about that
michimiya yui
bad gal bang! by benefit: another really natural one, good at separating, very VERY lengthening. dramatic enough so that it'll make you look more awake but still not enough to get daichi's attention rip.  but this shi!t will stay all day until you take it off. a little more liquidy so you get some time to fix any lashes that are stuck together. also, thin wand so great for bottom lashes as well! 10/10, very much recommend.
shirofuku yukie
waterproof lights camera lashes by tarte: i feel like she's the type to be drinking her water but then when she puts it down too quickly the water just splashes right back in her face?? LMAO or does this only happen to me, but she needs her mascara to be waterproof! also bc of all the steam from the yummy food contests she's conquering! anyways the queen deserves the whole spotlight so she gets the beloved lcl by tarte! the wand is pretty thin but don't let that fool you, because this wand is so good at lengthening and separating lashes. really good at holding curls.
suzumeda kaori
lash sensational from loreal: pls give this poor girl a break i cant even imagine running around the fukurodani team with bokuto's antics, they've definitely broken into her bags more than once and messed up her stuff. so she had to get the cheap drugstore mascara just in case </3 but its okay because this is one of my top 3, the consistency is really good and the wand is so amazing gahh, it has like different combs on different sides so if you have that one pesky pair of lash that just sticks together it'll be super easy to fix. perfect for on the go
misaki hana
kush mascara by milk makeup: you can't convince me that this girl isn't exhausted from the antics of johzenji, which makes this mascara perfect for her! the consistency is on the creamy/dry side so a couple quick swipes will get you the full lash. plus it's infused w some cannabis oil so it makes ur lash healthier (but terushima will definitely try to do some experiments w this so please hana guard it safely)
amanai kanoka
lash next door by brooklyn and bailey: ok ok so my fav thing about this mascara is that it's not waterproof so it's easy to take off, but it's water resistant so that it won't come off when you're all sweaty!! literally perfect for intense practices, and the wand is similar to lcm by tarte so they wield pretty similar results; sweet, curled, lengthened lashes!! and DOES NOT FLAKE it's literally a life saver
alisa haiba
liquid lash extensions by thrive: this mascara definitely the one i use the most! It’s unique in the sense that it’s a tubing mascara, so it’s water resistant which is great for alisa because she keeps tearing up every time lev messes up a serve (we stan a responsible sis) BUT it’s also very easily removed! just splash some warm water and the mascara literally slides right off im not even kidding. she definitely takes really good care of her appearance and will be sad even if she sees one eyelash fall so this is really great for her bc waterproof mascara is such a pain in the ass to remove. also very lengthening
yamaka mika
lash multiplier by revlon: mika is a baddie!! but daishou makes her cry so much she has to rebuy a tube like every month. so our lovely mika gets something easy, cheap, and has a good effect for puppy eyes. this mascara is just like the liquid lash extension; a tubing mascara,,,HOWEVER this one is WAY CHEAPER. u can def find this at ur local drugstore for like 6-8 bucks. great for on the go since it's easy to apply super fast, will get u a nice full fringe in like 3 swipes.
nametsu mai
damn girl! by too faced: how could i forget our beloved date tech manager,,,mai is def the scariest on date tech and she will let you know!!! this mascara is essentially a sequel to better than sex; your lashes will be bigger, fuller, and more glamorous! also the formula is literally so light it's like whipped cream,,, you will not feel a thing guranteed. it's like extensions but m a g i c
extra:
after being scolded by yukie for not getting dinner on time, the boys of the 3rd gym strolled through the dimly lit hallway on the way to the cafeteria. "yo, you know, i heard the girls bathrooms have couches or whatever," kuroo said, noticing the girl's bathroom as they walked past it.
"what! thats not fair!" bokuto whined. "how come the girl's stuff are always nicer? the boy's bathroom always just stinks, and there's always pee on the ground for some reason. like why can't you just aim? it's not that hard."
"well, im sure for short people, like maybe yaku-san or shoyo it's easy. but it's hard to aim when you're very tall!" lev explained brightly. in the onsen somewhere, morisuke yaku felt shivers go up his spine and a sudden urge to punch someone.
"lev, are u sure ur not the one peeing the floor? c'mon, man this is why we don't get nice things in our bathrooms!" kuroo groaned, flicking the first year’s forehead.
"well, it's just a rumor," akaashi explained, lifting the hem of his shirt to wipe off the sweat on his face. "there might not be a couch in the girl's bathroom."
"why don't you go find out?" tsukki taunted with a devilish grin on his face.
"i don't think this is a good idea," akaashi remarked, albeit a bit too late as hinata, kuroo, lev, and bokuto already sprinted down the hallway.
"aww, no couch" bokuto disappointedly wailed when he stepped into the girl's bathroom.
"well, this is a school bathroom after all," kuroo admitted as he flipped on the light switch. the bathroom was cleaner than the boy’s, for sure, but after all the outrageous tales they had expected to find at least a little something out of the ordinary.
"hey, what's this?" hinata was pointing to a bright pink makeup bag that was lying open on the counter.
"ooh, one of the managers must’ve left it behind! whose bag is this, is there a name on it?" lev rushed over to the bag and turned it upside down. dozens of colorful tubes and compacts fell out, splayed across the counter.
"whats this tube?" hinata asked, holding up a metallic pink tube.
"well, what does it say on the tube, dumbass?" tsukki smirked from the door frame he was leaning on. akaashi hesitantly stood behind him, questioning if entering the girl’s bathroom was a good decision.
"better..than sex!" hinata read aloud, a bit louder than he had intended to. everyone froze, and stared at the little pink tube.
"wait what the fu- hold up lemme see that," kuroo aggressively grabbed the tube from hinata's hands and twisted it open
"oh it's just macasara," bokuto said. they shouldn’t have been surprised, considering it did come out of a makeup bag.
"do you think the name is true?" kuroo was actually curious about this. is the little pink tube of innocent looking mascara the reason that girls were refusing to go out with him?
"let's see," bokuto snatched the tube out of kuroo's hand and started swiping on the pigment on his lashes, his mouth agape and head tilted back as he intently stared at his reflection in the mirror.
"it's been 10 minutes since we called the boys, should we check up on them?" yachi said nervously. the other girls turned and looked as if she had just made a revelation. "you're right, bokuto always sprints up for dinner and he looked pretty eager when we gave him his notice," kaori said nervously. "and everyone knows that the nekoma boys shouldn't be left alone, they're chaotic," shirufuku remarked. "that's so true...lets go find them," the rest of the managers agreed, taking off their aprons and stepping out of the cafeteria.
however, they heard the boisterous laughs a floor away. cautiously, kiyoko led the group down the stairs and followed the sound. imagine their surprise when they found the noise coming from inside the girl's bathroom.
"um, we're the only girls here…" yachi whispered. they crept up closer and closer until they were right outside. kiyoko put her finger to her lips and motioned for the girls to line up against the wall just in case. "okay, we'll open the door in 3…" she put her hand on the knob. "2…" it seemed like time was in slow motion as everyone's heart pounded loudly. "1!"
kuroo and hinata have mascara on their eyebrows, streaks of black pigment under their eyes and all over their cheeks like some kind of war paint. akaashi is holding an eyelash curler, trying to curl bokuto's eyelashes all the while bokuto is smacking akaashi's hand away.
"it looks like a torture device!" he cried.
"bokuto-san, it's suppose the enhance the lengthening effect,"
lev is trying to give himself a mustache by swiping on hair-like strokes with the mascara wand, and ever the opportunist, tsukki is in the corner, taking blackmail pictures
"oh, hi!. . . girls" hinata trailed off when he saw the horrified managers through the mirror. every face in the room paled white as a sheet.
extra no.2:
"wait how do i take this off, it's not coming off with water!!" bokuto wailed, slumping against the sink
he had unfortunately, picked the waterproof mascara.
the managers agreed that they have all conveniently ran out of makeup wipes

Chapter 13: The Bells
“I’m sorry, Missy…“ Missy couldn’t tell if the regret in Clara’s voice was genuine or not. She was still struggling to catch up with what was happening.
“What are you…“ She stared at the heavy metal cuff Clara had snapped around her wrist. She had been so naive. She should have known Clara had had an ulterior motive when she had asked her here.
“This is my chance to prove myself.“ Clara replied giving her a half smile as she stepped away. It had been a cheap trick, asking for Missy’s help, using the connection they shared. Clara wasn’t exactly sure what exactly their relationship was, Missy had never given her much of an indication one way or another but they had something of a connection. And of course it was something the Emperor was only to happy to exploit once he found out about it. So here they were.
“You don’t have to do this.“ Missy said softly. “I should never have… you don’t need him, just come with me instead. Let me go and…“
“I think it’s a bit late for that.“ Clara cut in, her voice surprisingly bitter. “Just tell him what he wants to know.“
“What is this?“ Missy raised her arm with the cuff but before Clara could answer, the teleport engaged and the world around her disappeared.
Moments later, Missy materialised in a sort of tube. She needed a moment to orient herself. She stumbled out grasping for air and found herself in a dusty stone-walled room. She looked around for clues as to where she was but she couldn’t figure it out. She had been transported somewhere but where? She bent down and gathered a handful of dust from the floor, letting it run through her fingers as she looked around.
“I know you’re responsible for this, Emperor!“ She called into the quiet, just on the off chance someone as listening. Clara has said to tell him what he wanted to know… Whatever she was, she knew it was on the Emperor’s orders. Up ahead a door slid open by itself and Missy tentatively made her way out of the room. “The equipment in that room is consistent with an augmented ultra long-range teleport. So, I'm not more than a single light year from where I was, and I'm in the same time zone.“ She mused out loud as she looked down the empty corridor. There were windows now too and she stuck her head out. All she could see were very high towers, this appeared to be some kind of castle.
“Come on, chop chop, I’ve just been betrayed by the person I thought could help me put an end to you, my day can’t get much worse, let’s see about yours!“ Missy called out but there was no reply. If the Emperor was watching, he wasn’t inclined to talk. That was when she noticed the screens along the walls and she realised something was following her. She set off down the corridor but quickly found herself at a dead end, the last door revealing solid stone behind it. She turned round and found herself facing a hunched over creature, she couldn’t see its face if it even had one, just two pronged hands extending towards her and flies circling around it like they might around a corpse.
“I can’t actually see a way out of this… maybe it wouldn’t be so bad, to just stop running, we’re all done for aren’t we…“ Missy swallowed as she contemplated the futility of her fight against the Emperor. She had been trying for so long and even using Clara had backfired. Maybe it was time she gave up the ghost. She wasn’t sure what would happen when the creature got to her but it certainly felt like death was stalking towards her.
“This is new. I'm scared. I just realised that I'm actually scared of dying.“ She admitted and suddenly, the creature stopped in it’s tracks.
“Something I said? What did I say?“ She mumbled as even the flies froze in mid air. “Why did you stop?“ Suddenly, there was creaking and banging and the castle started to move. The wall behind the door moved aside and Missy quickly stepped into the adjoining room.
Everything after that was a fight for survival and a quest for answers. What was this place? Why had she been brought here? And was there a way out? It didn’t take her long to realise this was a sort of torture chamber, specially designed for her. Exactly the sort of thing the Emperor would dream up. Everything, from the appearance of the stalking creature to the screens on the walls was designed to scare her. An automated haunted house, a mechanical maze.
It took a few more encounters with the creature until she realised that it was the revelation of secrets that stopped it and made the castle reset. That was also when she realised there was just one truth, one secret, she held that the Emperor would care about. One last victory that had eluded him for so long. She couldn’t possibly tell him. Protecting Gallifrey was the last thing she could do at this point and she was determined to do so.
When she finally encountered the wall of Azbantium that separated her from the outside world, the penny dropped at last. She would find a way out, even if it took a while. She’d done this before and she would do it again. She had been following her own breadcrumbs the entire time, she realised. There was a way out. And she would keep going, even if it was futile, even if it was just out of spite, she wouldn't let the Emperor break her.
As Missy smashed her fist into the wall she thought back to the moment that brought her here. Clara’s betrayal. She only had herself to blame. She was only grateful not to be able to remember all of this. Every time, every circle around, it was like the first time. It was only when she saw the stars that she realised how long it had actually been. But now she was so close to escaping. She smashed her fist into the unforgiving crystal and finally, four and a half billion years later, the wall crumbled.
The bright light of the binary suns blinded her, Missy needed a moment to orient herself. She blinked until finally, in the distance, the towers of the capital came into sharp focus and Missy felt her hearts lift with joy. Gallifrey. She was home at last and safe. She had escaped the Emperor’s torture chamber which, as she turned around, folded back in on itself and turned back into her confessionary dial. She bent down to pick it up but froze when suddenly, the noise of a TARDIS materialising sounded behind her.
——
“You’re not sleeping, are you.“ Missy rolled onto her side on the uncomfortable mattress. She was glad that both her and the Doctor were petite, else they would have had no space at all, but the Doctor was still close enough to keep her up with her fidgeting.
“Nope…“ The Doctor admitted and turned towards Missy. She had accepted that they had to get some rest but her brain simply refused.
“Why not?“ Missy asked though she could think of a thousand reasons to have sleepless nights.
“I feel like I’m missing something…“ The Doctor explained, slightly annoyed with herself.
“If you’re looking for a magical solution, Doctor, there isn’t one.“ Missy gave her a sad smile but the Doctor shook her head.
“That’s not it…“
“Then what?“ Missy frowned.
“Clara…“ The Doctor mused and lay back on her bed, staring up at the makeshift ceiling. “She doesn’t fit in.“
“What makes you say that?“ Missy asked, pushing herself up on her elbows.
“With the Ponds and River here… she’s the odd one out.“ The Doctor explained. Having witnessed the animosity between the Pond family and Clara, she hadn’t been able to shake the feeling that she didn’t really belong there. “When I bumped into my Clara, I was alone so I needed someone to travel with me… but in this universe the TARDIS would have been rather crowded already… So why did they ask her along if they don’t like her?“ The question had been bugging her for a while now.
“I don’t see how it matters.“ Missy replied in an off-hand sort of way that gave the Doctor pause.
“What’s your history with Clara?“ She frowned looking over to her.
“What makes you think I have…“ Missy started but the Doctor interrupted her:
“In my universe, you were responsible for bringing us together.“
“I see…“ Missy sighed.
“In my universe, Missy thought Clara and I would bring out the worst in each other, that we were two parts of an ancient prophecy about throwing the universe into chaos. Did you… do you have anything to do with Clara being with the Emperor?“ The Doctor sat up now. She could tell from the way Missy avoided her eyes that she was on to something.
“It was a stupid idea, it backfired…“ Missy knew she couldn’t lie to her but she didn’t exactly want to talk about it either.
“What were you trying to accomplish?“ The Doctor asked shaking her head a little to herself.
“Same as what you just said… I thought she would… destabilise them. Their relationships, their…“ Missy gestured a little but she didn’t really have the words. It had been stupid. “I thought it was working but then…“
“She fell in love with the Emperor as well, she betrayed you and gained her trust like that, didn’t she.“ The Doctor was quick at putting the pieces together and Missy laughed a little. She couldn’t help but be impressed.
“How did you figure that out?“ She asked.
“You seemed genuinely concerned that she would get herself killed with whatever she’s planning.“ The Doctor explained. Missy’s opinion on Clara’s plan hadn’t gone unnoticed. “You care about her at least a tiny bit.“
“That really has no baring on anything anymore, that was a long time ago.“ Missy waved it off.
“How long?“ The Doctor asked as a disturbing thought occurred to her.
“Sorry?“ Missy frowned.
“How long ago was that for you? Cause there is something else that’s been bugging me…“ The Doctor said and Missy sat up as well, she could tell neither of them would be getting any sleep tonight.
“What’s that?“
“Why are you here, Missy?“ The Doctor tilted her head, trying to get the measure of her.
“I told you, to help people…“ Missy didn’t understand why she was asking again.
“No, I mean here, of all places, on Gallifrey. Where you’re right under her nose and she could kill you if she wanted to. Like you’ve said before, there is nothing we can do here, no resources, the royal guards just there, the Quantum Shade… you have no wiggle room. So why not go somewhere where the Emperor’s influence is less… and start your resistance there? It’s what I would have done…“ The Doctor went on to explain.
“Why did you ask how long it’s been for me?“ Missy circled back to her original question.
“Because I think there is nowhere else to go. We’re at the end of time, aren’t we.“ The Doctor revealed her suspicion and Missy’s eyes widened in surprise.
“How do you know that? Not many people do.“
“It seems like a lot of the events that happened to me also happened here, just differently.“ The Doctor realised and got to her feet. She couldn’t sit still anymore. Missy had been through some of the same things she had. “I think if I knew more about everybody’s personal history, maybe I would be able to understand them a little better to make a plan… In my universe Gallifrey was hiding away at the end of time in a reality bubble too, I know because I went there the long way around…“ She looked back to Missy. “So how did you get here, Missy? Where is your TARDIS?“
“I don’t have a TARDIS anymore, Doctor, I didn’t time travel here… but it sounds like you know exactly how I got here.“ Missy gave her a sad smile.
“I’m so sorry, Missy…“ The Doctor didn’t know what else to say.
“I’d rather not talk about it.“ Missy shook her head, she didn’t want to dwell on it.
“Right okay… so when the Emperor calls themselves ruler of the universe, it’s really just Gallifrey, is it?“ The Doctor decided to focus her energies on something productive, rather than dwelling on the misery of the past.
“In this timezone, yes. Keeps her safe from any sort of uprising I suppose, when all other races are dead.“ Missy replied.
“But when I first met her, she’d been to Sontar, there was still blood on her hands…“ The Doctor frowned.
“The Empire doesn’t just exist in space but also time, Doctor.“ Missy swung her legs out of bed, sitting up on the side properly. “Here, in this time, the universe is pretty much over. Gallifrey is the perfect fortress, perfectly safe when so few are able to travel in time anymore.“ She explained. “The generals watch the time streams. Whenever any civilisation that she’s conquered diverges from its predetermined course of obedience she can just jump into her TARDIS, arrive early, and set things right.“
“Right…“ It was the perfect set up, pretty fool proof. The Doctor started pacing, trying to find something useful in the new information.
“She thinks of everything. We can’t go anywhere because there is nowhere to go and without time travel…“ Missy shrugged. “And even if we had it, the Council would be on us like a hawk. Not that anyone can fly her TARDIS anyway…“
“That’s it! That’s where we need to start, Missy, you’re brilliant!“ The Doctor exclaimed as an idea struck. She hadn’t paid enough attention to the world around her. Picking up on the things that were different but also those that were the same or reversed. A plan was forming in her head.
“What?“ Missy had no idea what she was talking about.
“I have an idea Missy, and I need you to trust me. It’s a bit risk but I think this could work. I think I’ve worked this place out at last.“ The Doctor turned to her, full of excitement.
“You’re not making any sense, Doctor.“ Missy chuckled, marvelling at her endless positivity.
“You’re gonna hate this but I’m gonna need to get back into the palace.“ The Doctor gave her an apologetic smile.
“Doctor…“ Missy sighed, it was a terrible idea.
“Gonna need a change of clothes too, and a way in that they won’t expect…“ The Doctor carried on. Suddenly, in the far off in the distance, a bell tolled and both of them froze.
“That’s…“ Missy got to her feet unsettled.
“A Cloister Bell…“ The Doctor nodded, recognising the distinctive sound.
“They only toll when disaster is drawing near…“ Missy said and the Doctor, despite everything, smiled.
“I just thought of a way to get us back into the palace.“
“Us?“ Missy raised her eyebrows.
“Oh yes, you’re coming with me. I will explain on the way!“
——
Drowsily River rolled over in bed, pulling the covers closer around herself. She was cold, falling asleep naked and sweaty, her body had cooled out. She stretched her hand out, looking for her wife to cuddle into her for some warmth but the bed was cold beside her. Sleepily River sat up, slowly she was coming to her senses, her eyes adjusting to the darkness. Her wife’s side of the bed was empty.
“Sweetie?“ She called into the darkness but no response. She swung her legs out of bed and nearly tripped as she got up in her sleepy state but her wife’s absence alarmed her. She found her balance after a few steps and grabbed her dressing gown from the chair by her dresser. “Sweetie?“ She called again, worry sweeping through her, as she walked into the adjoining room. Her eyes fell on the TARDIS, the door slightly ajar. She walked to the door and pushed it open. She breathed a sigh of relief when she found her wife sitting by the console, tinkering with bolts, screws and cogs.
“Is everything okay, Sweetie?“ River asked and the Emperor looked up surprised, she hadn’t noticed her coming in.
“Sorry, did I wake you?“ The Emperor gave an apologetic smile.
“I just turned round and you weren’t there, I got worried…“ River admitted, pulling her nightgown closer around herself feeling cold still.
“Just thinking…“ The Emperor replied giving a dismissive wave to the equipment around her. River smiled a little. Her wife used to do this a lot. When she had a problem to solve, she would retreat into her TARDIS and fix or make things, it helped her focus.
“Is everything okay? Something I can help with?“ River asked.
“Everything is fine.“ The Emperor said getting to her feet.
“And yet you can’t sleep.“ River observed. She clearly was worried about whatever Clara and the Doctor could be up to. Before the Emperor could respond, a bell tolled in the distance and they both froze. “Was that…“
“A Cloister Bell. They haven’t rung in years…“ The Emperor was halfway out the TARDIS before River could even respond. “We are in much greater danger than we realise.“ This was proof that the nagging thoughts, the undercurrent of worry, she had been feeling, were justified.
“Something must be happening.“ River agreed as she followed. The Emperor was already throwing clothes on.
“I'm going to go see the Council.“ She said pulling on trousers quickly. “You stay here.“ She insisted when River went looking for clothes as well.
“But…“ River looked around confused. She had never told her to stay behind before. She tried her best not to feel hurt.
“Seriously, don’t argue.“ The Emperor interrupted her buttoning up her shirt in a hurry. “I need to know you’re safe, you stay here.“

“What was that?“ Yaz demanded to know entering with palace’s security office. Ryan and Graham were following close behind. It was the middle of the night, there were off duty, but the entire city had heard the bell.
“A Cloister Bell, Ma’am.“ One of the officers on duty answered as they all jumped to their feet saluting.
“They have been silent for years, give me eyes on the Cloisters.“ She demanded as she stepped up to the screens.
“The sliders are getting increasingly more active. They’re sensing something is wrong, something is going to happen.“ Graham observed as they brought up footage from the Cloisters on the screens. Shapes were moving among the shadows and the fog.
“This is not a coincidence.“ Ryan agreed.
“I’m going to take a team down there. Find out what’s going on.“ Yaz decided. They had to find out what was going on. It was as good a place as any to start.
“Are you sure that’s a good idea? No-one that goes into the Cloisters comes back out.“ Graham grabbed her arm as she walked past them.
“Legend says there is a hidden exit into the city, it could be how the Doctor is getting about. I’m going to check it out.“ Yaz shook him off. They had to find the Doctor. “In the meantime, one of you inform the Emperor and keep guard, the other keep an eye on Clara Oswald.“
——
“What is going on?“ The Emperor burst into the Council chamber with purpose and determination. The Cloisters indicated this was the greatest threat they had faced in years and she wasn’t about to let anything jeopardise her reign.
“Emperor…“ The generals had gathered upon her command, some only filing in after her, some still fumbling with the buttons of their council robes. She wasn’t impressed.
“Wake up you mumbling fools, a Cloister Bell has rung, what is going on?“ She smashed her hand onto the table for emphasis. “You are tasked with protecting the Empire, what is going on? Are we under attack?“
“Nothing, as far as we can tell. Everything is quiet, no unexpected developments across the time streams…“ One of the council members spoke up. “The city is quiet as well, since you went amongst the people, they have grown more… respectful.“
“Are you absolutely sure?“ The Emperor pressed on focusing on him. He seemed to be wide awake at least in comparison to some of the others. They took turns with the night shifts, there was no need for everyone to be present all the time.
“See for yourself Emperor, the time streams are quite, your personal guards have taken it upon themselves to see if anything is the matter in the Cloisters themselves.“ Another general spoke up and by raising his hands from the table, he brought the readings up into the air for everyone to see.
“Things might not be happening yet but they will. The Bells are a warning, foreboding, prophecy…“ The Emperor mumbled leaning onto the table observing the time streams herself. They were right, everything looked completely normal so it had to be something happening here, on Gallifrey. Perhaps it wasn’t such a good idea to wait for Clara to make her move after all.
“If you’re concerned about something happening, we can postpone tomorrow’s celebrations?“ Another general suggested.
“No. That would be a sign of weakness.“ She shook her head vehemently. “Everything will go ahead as planned…“ She straightened herself up again and a thought occurred to her. “In fact, not as planned. Round up ten civilians that have acted out in some way. And Missy. I want Missy.“ She decided.
“What for?“ Another council member asked, sounding concerned.
“Is it any of your business?!“ The Emperor snapped glaring at him. She couldn’t stand people questioning an order.
“I just meant if we should organise anything else or…“ He carried on in a small voice averting his eyes.
“Just do as you’re told.“ She growled. “I’ll be in my quarters, if there is only the slightest change or cause for concern, I expect to be informed.“
——
“You’ve done this before…“ Missy mumbled as they pressed themselves to a pillar to avoid a cloister wraith that headed in their direction.
“So have you…“ The Doctor observed with a smile. “I’m beginning to think we have a lot more in common than I realised. I think you lived through some of the same things I have, our roles are reversed in some ways.“ She explained as they waited for the wraith to move past. She had been so focused on wrapping her head around her own situation, she hadn’t really stopped to think about the history of the people she encountered.
“So it seems…“ Missy agreed. As she looked back at the Doctor she felt unsettled. They had dressed her to look like the Emperor and it was unnerving.
“About the confessionary dial…“ The Doctor said quietly as they carried on. “I came the long way around too…“ They ducked behind another pillar. “What kept you going? There was this moment when I realised what had been done to me, what they were trying to do… and I was about to give up…“ In a way, knowing Missy had been through the same thing as her, allowed her to talk about it for the first time.
“But then you realised you couldn't just let them win. You had to keep going.“ Missy agreed with a small smile as they carried on.
“Who were you doing it for?“ The Doctor asked.
“Myself? I knew I had to be better than this. I couldn’t let her win.“ Missy shrugged.
“I guess you’re right… I thought I… I thought I was doing it for Clara at the time, she had just died and I wanted to find a way to save her, so I had to get out of there… but now, I just think I wanted her to be proud of me. I wanted to be the Doctor. And I couldn't let the bad guys win.“ The Doctor answered after brief consideration.
“So here we are, braving the Cloisters.“ Missy chuckled. “But at least you know what you’re doing it for.“
“Not just for River, if that’s what you think. I wouldn’t be surprised if she had already managed to find a way out of her predicament, she doesn't need me to look after her, not really. I’m doing it for the same reason as you.“ The Doctor felt the need to explain.
“Cause we can’t let the bad guys win.“ Missy smiled and reached out for the Doctor’s hand. “I am so glad that I met you, even if we never should have, not really… I’m really very grateful that you are here, whether we succeed or not.“ She gave her hand a squeeze and the Doctor smiled.
Suddenly up ahead the wraiths grew more agitated. In the distance they saw an elevator door slide open, revealing several royal guards, weapons drawn.
“Right, let’s see what’s going on down here.“ The Doctor recognised Yaz’s voice immediately and she pulled Missy behind a pillar.
The Cloister Bells tolled again.
——
River was pacing their quarters, she couldn’t sit still. The situation was unnerving. There was no way you could go back to sleep so she had gotten dressed instead. She could just go to find her wife, this was ridiculous. There was no immediate danger.
“Right, that’s it.“ She huffed getting fed up and made her way to the bedroom. She walked to her dresser where, among other things, she kept her gun. It had been a while since she’d last made use of it but she appreciated her wife’s concern for her safety. It couldn’t hurt to carry it.
She was just exchanging the battery pack, when she heard the door to their quarters open. Her wife returning at last, she thought, as she breathed a sigh of relief.
“In the bedroom!“ She called out and put the gun back on the dresser.
“That’s quite the invitation… Mind you, I’ve always been curious what it would be like to sleep with myself.“
River whirled around and found herself face to face with an exactly copy of herself. In the distance, another bell tolled.

Feeder for Hire
Fat!Derek and feeder!Stiles Get Beached: Challenge Week Word Count: ~3000 Prompts: Captive/Captor Relationship, Size Pride, Too Fat for Things Read on A03: https://archiveofourown.org/works/25550704 “You sure about this guy?”
For the last time, yes, Scott. I’ll text you his address and a photo and if you don’t hear from me -”
“ - by five in the morning, call the cops. I know the deal. You haven’t gone to anyone’s house in years. I thought you said no more?”
Stiles shrugged. “He’s hot as hell, we’ve done some video sessions before, and he pays…really well. A few nights a week with him and I can pay off this semester.”
“Have fun! Text me if anything…comes up.” Scott grinned, although Stiles knew he was still hesitant about how he made his income.
Stiles nodded, making sure he grabbed his keys, doubled checked he had his phone, the contract, and his preference lists in his pocket before leaving their dorm. Derek – although that could very well be a fake name – had met Stiles through a gainer website three years back, admitting he had followed Stiles’ page for awhile before messaging him. It had been a few months of exchanging back and forth conversations before Derek had asked about paid video sessions, and then in-person feedings. Scott was right, Stiles very rarely offered to do in session feedings, but Derek was a special case. Not only did he live only a few towns over, unlike most of the guys he dealt with, Derek was polite, almost embarrassed of his wants, tipped extremely well, and meshed well with Stiles. He had a snarky, quick wit and, from what Stiles had seen through a few pictures and fuzzy video screens, was exactly Stiles’ type.
Tall, dark, handsome, a wide bubble butt, thighs that rubbed together with each step, and a slightly furry pot-belly that was quickly becoming more of a blubbery gut as he passed three-hundred and fifty pounds, and kept going. Stiles has asked once if he had a goal weight. Derek admitted he didn’t know. He had already gained seventy-five pounds since he had first messaged Stiles.
Stiles had read through Derek’s profile a hundred times. He had requested short scenes, getting Derek through a stuffing, teasing and humiliating and forcing him to finish if needed. It was a little colder and more forceful than what Stiles usually liked to do with partners, but he wasn’t going to judge Derek for his interests.
1) Teasing and humiliation only. No praise. 2) Hitting/spanking/pain, okay. 3) I will provide the food. I expect to be forced to finish it all, by any means. 4) Funnel and tube feeding okay. 5) Tying down okay, rope or cloths only. 6) No blindfold. 7) You are not to let me come or touch myself until I’ve finished eating. 8) I will pay half up front, half when you leave. 9) Safe word: Triskelion
In return, Stiles provided a similar list, including his safe word, Scott. His were more focused on what he wouldn’t do, regardless of his clients’ request. It was a short list, mostly consisting of bodily fluids like spitting on clients, inflation, and serious pain. He had a feeling most would be a moot point with Derek, but he hadn’t felt the need to adjust his standard contract.
*******
Their second session went similarly to their first, minus the awkward introductions. Once again, Derek had set out the same spread of food on his table. Pan of alfredo pasta, chicken, blender full of gainer power and ice cream, and peanut butter brownies.
“You must really love pasta.”
“Highest calories.”
“Do you like it?”
Derek only shrugged.
“Do you cook? I don’t have an oven or anything in the dorm, but if you don’t mind me using your kitchen, I could come earlier and help – ”
“ – I order delivery.”
“That’s a crime, man. You have a brand-new kitchen! Stainless steel!”
“More work.”
“Is that why you don’t talk much? Too much work?”
That earned him something that was close to a smile. “You talk enough for both of us.”
“Guess it is hard to talk with all that food in your mouth, Big Guy.”
“Does it look like I’m eating?”
“You better fix that, then. I’m surprised a pig like you could hold back around all this food.”
That did it. Derek’s eyes darkened in arousal and he immediately sank into his chair and pulled the chicken closer towards him. Dutifully, Stiles pulled up a chair next to him, poking him in the stomach periodically and making remarks.
“Slowing down already? You only finished the chicken; I know you aren’t done yet.”
“You didn’t get that figure from moderation.”
“Jeans a little tight? Hold up that flabby gut for me and I’ll unbutton them. Wouldn’t want that to stop you from stuffing your face with even more…”
It was more natural with Derek. Stiles often had to revert to a script with other clients, repeating a few phrases he knew they wanted to hear. He did have to bite back his urge to praise Derek for his sizeable appetite, tell him how good he looked blissfully stuffed, panting and belching even as he reached for more. It was a shame Derek didn’t want to be worshipped or hand fed, treated softly like Stiles would have loved to do.
“Can’t – urp – too full.”
Stiles held up the half empty pitcher. “Drink it.”
Derek groaned and rest both hands on the side of his overstuffed stomach. “’m gonna pop.”
Stiles desperately wanted to slide his hands under Derek’s shirt and ease some of that fullness for him. It took a lot of self-control and mental reminders of Derek’s request to instead push down on the curve of his gut, eliciting a huge belch. As soon as he opened his mouth, Stiles tipped the contents of the pitcher slowly down’s Derek throat.
“See? Plenty of room.”
“No – urp- no more. URP.”
“Too bad.” Stiles told him, making sure Derek swallowed another mouthful before pulling the pitcher back slightly. “Should have thought about that before you finished all that food like a greedy hog.”
“ ‘S not my fault,” Derek panted, dutifully gulping down a few more mouthfuls.
“No?” Stiles knelt down besides Derek, slipping a hand under Derek’s paunch to palm his throbbing erection. “You haven’t been getting hard, thinking about how much you’ve been eating? How fat this is going to make you?”
“I – fuuuck. How much – urp- left?”
“Only a little bit. Why don’t you finish it off?”
Derek took the pitcher from Stiles, breathing heavily, clearly pushing himself to finish the little remaining.
“Getting too big for this,” Stiles told him, pinching his fleshly lower belly with one hand as he took his time jerking Derek off with his other. “Going to need both hands just to hold up all this blubber. Can you even get yourself off anymore? Or is your belly in the way?”
Derek came with a breathless moan, cut short by him cursing and stifling another belch. Stiles wished he could see Derek’s face in its entirety, but from his angle on the ground, the mountainous sphere blocked his view.
Grinning, Stiles got to his feet. “Knew you could finish it.”
He gave Derek a few minutes for his breathing to slow, then gestured at his swollen midsection. “Want help with that? I give amazing belly rubs, dude.”
“Don’t – urp- call me dude.”
“Is that a no?”
“Yes. Go home. I’ll send you the other half of your payment.”
Stiles nodded unhappily. “Fine. Text me if you’d like to schedule another session. Goodnight, Derek.”
He left, leaving Derek slumped uncomfortably in his chair, jean unbuttoned, come splattered on his lower belly.
*******
“Derek, sorry, hi! I’m here. Only…thirty minutes late. Shit, I’m sorry. The jeep was having problems starting and then it started raining….”
“I started eating without you.” Derek shrugged.  “What was wrong with the jeep now?”
“Same thing. It’s an old car. It was pay for textbooks or pay for a new engine.” Derek looked guilty, like he was responsible for Stiles’ financial hardships, even though he was the main contributor to Stiles’ bank account, so Stiles added, “I’ll have it fixed next semester, probably.”
“If – if you ever need a ride or anything, you can borrow the Camaro.”
Stiles gaped at him. Derek was very protective of the car sitting in his driveway. Stiles had never seen a spot on it. He wasn’t even allowed to park the jeep anywhere near it because Derek was so afraid of it being damaged.
“You’re kidding.”
“No. I’ll have to get a, ah, roomier one, eventually.”
“Too much of a spare tire?” Stiles laughed, pressing himself against said belly so he could, just barely, reach behind Derek to grab handfuls of his ass. “Too much junk in the trunk?”
“Both. And if you’re done with the bad metaphors…. you’re soaking wet. Take off your clothes before you catch something,” Derek said gruffly. “You can borrow some of mine.”
Derek had a clear wet splotch on his shirt from where Stiles had leaned into him. Now that he was inside and less frantic about being late, Stiles realized he was shivering and dripping on Derek’s floor.
“Or we could both get out of these clothes and go upstairs.”
“That – yeah. Or that.”
It wasn’t what they usually did. Derek had rarely seen Stiles undressed, and normally Derek was too full to do much of anything in the bedroom. Stiles was happy to do all of the work, relishing the feeling of Derek’s belly resting against his back or riding Derek, watching his breasts and belly wobble. He frequently had to remind himself that Derek was a client, who requested teasing, not admiration and compliments, no matter how badly Stiles wanted to give them.
The contrast between them was even more apparent when they were together in the bedroom. Stiles threw his wet clothes by the doorway and eagerly got Derek out of his own.  Pressed up against Derek, he had the chance to really appreciate how massive the other man was. Stiles’ leaned against him to press their lips together and Derek’s waistline spread out to either side of him.
“It’s official. Can’t wrap my arms around you anymore.”
“You’re exaggerating.”
“Nope. You’re that fat.”
Derek pushed him down on the bed. “Not to fat to fuck you.”
“Yet,” breathed Stiles, grabbing Derek’s side rolls as he was pinned to the bed by Derek’s lard. Derek had himself propped up with both arms. His doughy belly still hung low enough to press against Stiles, but it kept his weight from being completely crushing. “Keep gorging yourself and you will be.”
“Think so?”
“It’d be a good look for you. Stuffed, too fat to get out of bed, laying there like a beached whale and letting me do all the work.”
“Mhmn. You’d be up to that?”
“I’d be my favorite job,” Stiles told him honestly.  “How long do you think, Der? Ten years? Five? I’ve seen all the ice cream in your fridge and the fast food wrappers the trash. Immobility isn’t that far away.”
“’S your fault.” He moved one hand to smack his gut, watching it quiver. “Getting harder to jerk off with all this in the way.”
“Awww, no wonder you need me. Your belly weighs more than me. Gonna be too much effort to try and find your dick buried in all that flab.”
“Fuck,” Derek moaned, rutting against Stiles. Beads of sweat were forming on Derek’s forehead from the exertion of holding himself up. Stiles swatted at his arm and tried to wiggle out from under him. The heavier man got the hint and collapsed on the bed next to Stiles, trying to catch his breath.
“Still up to pounding me into the mattress?”
“Give me…a minute.”
“Take all the time you need. Want me to bring the rest of your dinner up first?”
“…yes.”
******* Derek was dressed in a suit when he answered the door for Stiles. It was clearly an expensive piece, tailored to a man a few pounds smaller. The pants were stretched thin over Derek’s thighs and the jacket button was equally as stretched.
“Hey, Derek! That suit is a good look.”
“Work ran late,” Derek told him gruffly. “I didn’t have time to order the food. I’ll pay you for the extra time.”
Stiles waved a hand. “No worries. Rough day at work?”
“Yes.”
“Want to talk about it?”
Derek looked unsure. Stiles took a step forward and unbuttoned his jacket, helping Derek shrug if off, then started on his shirt buttons. After a few seconds, Derek burst out, “I hate being the asshole boss! I know – I know what they say about me behind my back. But they don’t understand! A missed deadline means we all look bad and with talks of layoffs and restructuring, we can’t afford any mistakes.”
“They’ll warm up to you. You’re secretly as soft as you look.”
“You don’t know me, Stiles,” Derek said tiredly.
“I know enough. You’re a good guy. Why don’t you relax? Take a bath, change, and I’ll order food. Sounds like you need chocolate. If you like chocolate.”
“What?”
“Chocolate. For bad days? Like chocolate cake?  Or ice cream?"
“It’s been awhile since I had either. I was going to order the usual.”
Stiles shook his head. “Trust me, if you’re upset, you’re going to feel awful if you stuff yourself. I had something else in mind, if it’s okay.”
Derek looked hesitant.
“I was thinking, you eat your weight in desserts while I eat you out?”
“Let’s- yeah. We can do that.”
“Then get that fat ass in the shower,” Stiles laughed, “and I’ll bring the food upstairs when it arrives.”
******* Stiles had been hesitant since he walked in the door. Derek had been less talkative than usual, admitting only he stopped for fast food on his way home from work, before he had started on their nightly feast.
“Eating without me?”
“Ran into my ex,” Derek admitted through a mouthful of food. “Said a few…choice words about my weight.”
“So you went into McDonalds to spite her?”
“She’s a bitch.”
Stiles laughed uncomfortably. Derek was acting nonchalant, but still seemed upset. “Guess so. Look on her face must have been priceless.”
“Can’t have anyone thinking I got to be this size on accident.”
“The way you eat? I doubt anyone thinks that. How much did you order at McDonalds?”
“Twenty-piece nugget, double cheeseburger, milkshakes, two large fries.”
“Jeeze. Still think you can finish all this?” He saw Derek struggling more than usual to take bite after bite.  Derek took a bite and then gagged; hand clamped over his mouth like he was going to be sick.  “Are you okay?”
Derek took a few seconds, hand still clamped over his mouth, before swallowing and nodding weakly. “I’m fine. Must’ve swallowed too fast.”
“Maybe you should take a break for a little?”
“No,” Derek told him firmly, stabbing his fork back into the chicken, “I’m fine.”
Stiles could tell he wasn’t. His stomach was stretched out further than Stiles has ever seen, stretch marks an angry red. Derek had to be in pain. His arm was wavering, breath coming in shallow pants, each burp looking like it would result in a total upheaval of his entire meal. Stiles wasn’t sure he could sit and watch Derek force himself bite by bite to finish the sizeable amount of food left.
“Scott,” Stiles gasped out, “Derek, Scott.”
Derek immediately froze. “Fuck, are you – is it a panic attack? What…urp-  can I do?”
“No. No. I’m fine. It’s – I can’t watch you do this.”
“You haven’t had a problem with it before.”
“Usually you’re enjoying.”
“I can – urp – keep going.”
“You almost threw up. Tell me you didn’t, Derek.”
“Jus’ need a few minutes….”
“No.” Stiles slid the food a few inches away. Derek reached forward, belly grumbling audibly as he groaned in pain, and fell back into his chair, glaring at Stiles.
“Then you can go. I’ll pay you for the full session.”
“Dude, no way I’m leaving you like this.”
“Mmpppfh. S’fine.”
“No, it isn’t. Think you can make it upstairs?”
Derek made it, but it was a laborious task. Stiles helped him slowly to his feet and kept a steading hand on the small of Derek’s back as he waddled up the stairs, taking one step by a time in agonizingly slow steps, trying not to jostle his overstuffed middle weighing him down. He finally made it and sunk with a groan of relief on the bed.
Stiles bent down and pulled off Derek’s shoes and socks. “Stand up, Big Guy. You’ll be more comfortable with less clothes.”
“Ngggh.”
“Come on,” Stiles laughed, pinching his inner thigh, “only a few seconds and you can lay back down.”
Derek reluctantly got to his feet so Stiles could pull his jeans down around his ankles while Derek tugged off his shirt. As soon as it was done, he fell back on the bed.
“’M too full to do anything.”
“No sex tonight,” Stiles promised. “This might be better.”
He rubbed circles over the top of Derek’s gut, which was so taut with food it had lost its usual softness. Occasionally, he would stop to trace over the multitude of stretchmarks, or press a little bit harder, massaging away the soreness. Eventually, Derek’s heavy, labored breathing, belches and groans fell away to snoring and snuffling.
