like she’s such a fascinating woman. for someone so vindictive and evil she’s so willing to be immediately vulnerable with you and voice her concerns just because you decided to save her and she recognises that most people in their right mind would leave her for dead but You Don’t and she literally doesn’t waste a second expressing her gratitude. who else willingly does that without me having to wrench it out of them huh

and i think it’s so fascinating because she’s literally a commander And Also a noble and yet you can ask her about anything to do with home and her life before and she’ll tell you it all so willingly just because you asked. she doesn’t hide anything from you; everything is out in the open and straightforward from the get go. she’s a no nonsense woman and i deeply respect that

it could also just be a me thing but there’s something i really appreciate about her not really having any specifically romantic greetings. she’s stalwart and alert and ready to run into battle for you until you ask her for a kiss and then her voice softens and she’s sweet and teasing you and it just feels So Much More Natural you know?? i find some of the other romances dialogue to be a little too mushy or on the nose for my liking so minthara is hard Not to romance every time. even on a redemption durge run she doesn’t chastise or get upset with you for not taking the netherbrain for yourselves Even Though it was what she had been dying to do since she joined your party. she doesn’t even really need your apology, she’s just happy to be by your side more than anything and i think thats what makes her so Ride or Die because all that matters to her is you!!!! even at the reunion party that she says she doesn’t particularly care to be at (i dont believe her for a second i KNOW she likes some of the companions deep down) she hangs around and waits just so that you can hang out with your friends because she wants you to be happy. she is a very ambitious and selfish woman and yet as soon as you get with her she pushes all of her selfishness aside Just to account for you. if you dont wanna do it then it won’t happen. end of story. she’s not gonna force you even if it’s literally all that she wants. yeah the compromise is that instead of doing the Massively Evil Thing you just do a Smaller Evil Thing but i dont ever play characters that Aren’t in some way morally dubious so whatever

author's note // hi everyone ! i had to remember how to be an art student again since I'm back at school. not really sure what happened with this one, i sat down and looked at my ideas on my docs sheet, put on some mellow music, and wrote the first angst of the blog. enjoy!

he put the last box in your car. you can only look at him as he pushes the box in. there was always a feeling this would happen. you weren’t sure if it was self-sabotage, but some of you always felt this way. it started on twitter when someone matched his michigan hoodie to a hoodie you wore in a recent video. the both of you were so good about covering your track. or you were for the last 2 years. you remember schlatt coming out of his office looking like he saw a ghost. he showed you his twitter feed, and it was so much worse than when he face revealed. you loved schlatt; you really, really did. but he has a tendency to get defensive really, really quickly. 

“we can’t.” he started getting choked up as he continued to scroll through his phone. it felt like everything was falling apart over and over again. your hands go to cover his as you take his phone away and put it in your pocket. his eyes hold a mixture of fear and sadness. schlatt knew what he needed and what he had to do, but he couldn’t. “hey, hey, look at my jay. it’s ok, everything’s gonna be ok.” your voice is gentle as you try and talk him off the ledge. he knew at the moment that it was over.

the next morning, he wasn’t in bed beside you; you don't even remember him coming to bed the night prior. Getting out of bed, you put your hoodie back on from its spot on the floor and make your way to your living room. schaltt is asleep on the couch with jambo sleeping on top of him. you smile to yourself; you didn't know this would be the last time you saw it. walking to the kitchen, you make a pot of coffee, and once it’s ready, you decide to drink it on the patio outside. schlatt wakes up from the sound of the patio door shut, unsure of where he is. his phone had fallen to the floor, dead from all the doomscrolling he had done last night. he didn’t care what people said about him; he grew the muttons for a reason. schlatt only cared what they said about you, and the only way he could protect you from the hate was to break up with you. he knew it was selfish and dumb, but it was the only solution he could think of. schlatt pets Jambo a few times before getting up. he puts jambo on the floor and picks up his phone to charge it in the kitchen. he glances over to the coffee pot and sees you left a mug out for him and kept the pot warm. it breaks his heart again. already trying not to cry, he walks across the room to the patio door. as he opens it, you smile sweetly at him. you were looking out at the backyard, looking for the bluejay that would come by at this time of day. 

“hi dear, did you sleep alright?” you asked, looking over to him and taking a sip of your coffee; the steam was still coming from it. he shuts the door and stands there. “um, not really (y/n).” it’s hard for him to look at you. you search for his eyes, for any insight on what is going on with him right now. “i think we should break up.” he says. you go stiff, your hands threatening to drop the mug. everything in you stills as he looks over at you. “w-why?” is all you can say. “it’s gonna be what’s best for you in the long run.” he murmurs. “i mean, do i get any say in this? a relationship has two people in it jay.” you can feel yourself starting to get angry. “i feel like i need to protect you from the people online, i dont want them to hurt you or do anything stupid to you.” he admits. the wind out of your sails is gone, the world feels still. all you can do is nod and hold back your tears. “alright, if you think that’s the best way forward then alright. we’re done.” you agree. with most of the men in your life, you had to learn that once they’ve decided, it’d be easier to switch the earth with the moon than try to get them to change their minds. tears start to fall as schlatt stands between your chair and the door. he had admitted to you before that he’s no shoulder to cry on, so you sit there silently crying as the both of you look out into the backyard. the bluejay lands on the bird feeder he got you last christmas. 

schlatt left the patio a few minutes later to give you space to work out any emotions you had. you were upset about him breaking up with you; that was a given, but you were more upset that he didn’t try to fight for it. you weren’t going to beg for him to, either. still, on the patio, you call your friend harley and tell her everything, and she tells you her guest room is free while you look for a new place. thank god she still lived two hours away. you thanked her one last time and told her when you were on the way to her place. you look down at your empty mug and then up one last time. you now know this will be the last time you'll see this view of the woods. you walk back into the house, and schlatt is sitting on the couch reading a book you got him last week. the door shuts, and he’s still invested in his book. “so, is this it?” you break the silence in the room, a quiver in your voice. his head turns to you, sitting up slightly, “i really did enjoy our time together. i really, really did.” he says back. you walk towards the kitchen to set your mug; well, it was his before you moved in. you set his mug into the sink and look down into it, seeing the bowls soaking with water from dinner you made together last night before looking back up at him. “it was good while it lasted. i’ll miss it, and you.” you turn to make your way back to the bedroom so you can’t see his reaction; you knew it would break you again.

he shuts your trunk as you are brought back to the current moment. last thursday keeps playing over and over and over in your head. schlatt helped you pack your things up, plates, utensils, towels, clothing, and nick-nacks. he had promised to help pay for your first four months of rent and send a truck out to deliver your desk to your new place. even at the end of things, he still cared very, very much for and about you. you were sure if you would ever feel that again. “thank you for the help with everything, packing wise.” you thanked him; it felt like your relationship was back to meeting each other for the first time. “it felt like the least i could do. everything will be better for us this way. i’m sorry it had to turn out this way.” he apologized again; it felt like the only thing he had done for the last 4 days. “schlatt,” you start shaking your head, “if you start apogizing again i’m gonna start crying and i need to get on the road to harley’s.” you check your watch as you walk up to him and embrace him one final time. he pulls away, holding onto your shoulders. “you kept me on a easy schedule, i knew what i was doing everyday.” he laughs. you chuckle a little. he had admitted that his sleep and work schedules were out of wack when you first started dating. “you’ll get into a new swing of things, make sure not to miss any meals and take care of yourself.” you tell him as you walk to the driver's side and put at the handle sitting into your car. he rolls his eyes jokingly as he watches you get into the car and shut the door, “yes, mom. i will be looking after myself with utmost care.” your car starts, and you push the button to put your window down. schlatt leans his arm against the window, “do you think we’ll ever even see each other again?” he asks. you sit and think for a moment, and your eyes meet his, “hopefully in the next life. good luck with everything jay, i’ll miss you.” you pull your window up before he has a chance to say anything. schlatt straightens his postures as he watches you pull out of his driveway and make a left turn. he watches your car until it goes over the first hill. he turns away from the road and returns to the house he once shared with you.

going to preface this with this is a matter of my own opinion. i know theres trsmp fans here hiiii mutuals so take this with a grain of salt guyssss

i watched since day one and kept up with the server a lot so something that i immediately disliked was the actual system used to level up. i felt it was incredibly boring to watch. this is something i expressed since the first few weeks of the server as someone who was watching it consistently. it really does get boring and never gets better content wise

initially the server was advertised as being fully chill with like a minimal amount of rp, if any at all. this was expressed a lot by cc’s on day one explaining the server to people. and now its completely about rp. which is personally annoying as i was looking forward to a server where cc’s could interact and chill.

the actual rp, again, this is my opinion, is aggravating. i dont find divisions like this in servers to ever play out in a satisfying way and it always ends up with just negative feelings while watching. whether that be becoming annoyed at other teams and so forth. kinda takes away from the whimsy of watching the server when it just causes bad feelings.

now additionally to me just not liking the rp overall the whole idea of the factions event is so beyond bad. i get what tubbo and his team were going for but the weekly tasks and splitting people up just isn’t fun! and i acknowledge that for some people this is very fun! but i dont like it myself and how the factions event basically fueled this rival bit between foolish and bad and led to whatever the rp is now and all the. “sides”

more on the factions event i cannot understand why when the new players joined as red tubbo wouldve wanted all the other factions to work in unison against red. when clearly that is so so unfair towards the red faction, as new players who were completely under prepared compared to players who’ve been playing for a month now, i think the whole factions event is very stupidly planned which ig makes sense considering how fast tubbo cooked up this server. i also dont understand why tubbo would think people would work together when green and yellow were already majorly beefing. it just feels like poor planning and decision making.

now getting more meta i dont like this type of rp and factions event because have you seen the state of the fandom on here? quite literally another qsmpblr purgatory moment where everyone thinks their faction is the correct one and everyone is being passive aggressive and people are getting unnecessarily heated over minecraft again. where is the fun in that? when i started noticing this behavior i sorta stepped away from the trsmp i dont watch it daily or very much anymore. yesterday being the exception where i tuned in to tubbos stream for an hour before leaving again cause rp stuff was happening. i just despise these type of events because it takes a perfectly fine group of individuals and turns them into what i can only compare to toxic sport fans and its not nice to see or nice to read posts that are so rude. i know some people love drama and conflict and discourse in fandom but its personally not my thing.

and also every discourse that comes out of this server is so minuscule but people get so so pissed about it and its like okay please chill. calm down its not that serious. stop interpreting everything in such bad faith.

i didnt like the snails decision. which if u dont know theres admins who play snails who follow players around and can take their levels if they get too op. i was more okay with the idea when it was initially meant to be One snail following whoever had the most levels on the server. despite that being stupid it was funny so i was okay with it but then it became heres a snail for everybody. and oh look you can name them and some have accessories and this ones a butterfly now and etc etc. and i dont like that. history repeating itself and all that shit.

i dont like how the admins seemingly side with certain people and groups on the server.

i dont like how certain people keep getting nerfed and whilst i understand the reasoning it truly sucks any fun out of the server and makes it harder for the cc’s to make content they want to make on the server.

and personally i think maybe some cc’s need to have a sit down chat perhaps and discuss what is okay or not cause sometimes its evident theres a lot of miscommunication and people getting upset etc etc.

so thats my explanation. Now to be clear if roier ever got added i’d most definitely watch the server again. as is the life of a tripoier.

i do think the server has good things like the cc’s themselves especially when theyre just chilling and having a good time without the fuck ass rp.

I haven't gone through most of the gamefreak leaks but I find it odd that people are going bonkers over the typhlosion thing in such a gross way bc like

1) its clearly mythos/lore? Based on concepts they decided not to lean into.

It is Not Canon / Cut Content for a reason - the reason being that was not the direction they wanted to take the series since it is very very very specifically geared towards a teen audience.

Could a teen audience have handled the themes? I would argue yes - but they disagree, and so it was cut.

2) Even if we ignore everything else implied by that story - it is literally not that different from like. Normal furries...??? Like.

The typhlosion was communicating in human speech. It was taking on a humanoid form. It clearly understood humanoid needs and ties and emotions.

The ending directly said that the lesson they learned was that Typhlosion are more humanoid than initially suspected. This is leaning more into the "monster" / yokai aspect of pokemon that has Always been there.

3) These themes are really common in real world mythology in pretty much all places in the world, and they are typically used as teaching moments to warn (in this case...) Young Girls from wandering into the woods alone, lest a predator Of Some Kind take advantage of their isolation.

Another thing I find fascinating is that they didn't really do Away with some of these concepts - they just moved it onto Zoroark (and other pokemon) instead. Many canon pokemon still behave this way, just sith the more adult or worrying themes omitted.

From what I've seen and experienced with Pokemon growing up, there's always been the backbones of something darker and more "grimms tales" underneath. I just don't understand the Disgust and Surprise when realistically, the world has always had a pretty strong undercurrent and ties to Yokai, Demonology, Religion and Monsters - the notion that SOME lean more humanoid than others is the very reason we have a humanoid egg group to begin with, and why ditto, mew two, etc exist.

Also. Like. I get wishing we had more of those dark themes in the games. But us adults who grew up on Pokemon haaavvvree to remember that despite growing up and still loving the game series, us adults...are not their target demographic. At least we DEFINITELY weren't at the time mush of the Typhlosion stuff was being written. Whether we think thats stupid or not doesn't change that.

The changes they made are a direct result of going "okay guys maybe this is a little too much for 10 to 14 year olds..." And that's their narrative choices to make.

But also part of things is that Kara doesn't really have room to shine, because Lena sucks all the air from the room. And with based looooooosely on the anne hathaway movie that sees them reuniting in like five years, I had to have them split in a relatively timely manner.

And also tbh, in case the "writing this in my phone notes" didn't convey this strongly enough-- I am pantsing this thing to the maxxxxxx. Not a single outline or bullet point in sight.
