I don't know if the mere act of only making Jade and Jake brown out of all the Kids is Racist on its own, per se, but it is kinda silly in the sense that, you know, John and Jade are siblings, so realistically they'd look similar. And... People absolutely do get racist about it. Like, making Jade and Jake uniquely huge, hairy, threatening, and oddly shaped - gangly in the context of Jade, buff as hell in the context of Jake. I've seen some SEVERELY racist drawings where Jade and/or Jake were the only hints of melanin in the Kid line up and... Oh my god. It can get to straight up caricature levels. Watermelons and everything. Just comedically racist.

I have said this before but I'll say it again - I do not think a Red Romantic Relationship will fix Dirk, or even really help him all that much. Before he gets into a RedRom, he needs some therapy, a break, and mood stabilizers.

However, I'm thoroughly of the opinion that a good BlackRom could work wonders on him, way more than a RedRom would. I think a solid, established Pitch Relationship with, like, Caliborn would be genuinely great for him, both mentally and in a Character Development sense. I hold zero interest in watching Dirk and Jake badly fumble a traditional romantic relationship - that notion is painful to me. ... But I do think I could read a full Intermission's worth of Dirk and Caliborn fucking around and not get tired of it once. They have a fantastic dynamic. It'd be good for Caliborn, too, I think.

Great Question. My personal guess is that he's a little too nuanced for a lot of people to be comfortable with handling. He throws out too much surface-level Bigotry that people aren't willing to ignore because it isn't Racism for many to feel comfortable making him their Blorbo. When Dave says the N-Word and talks about how fucking Racist he is and it literally never gets acknowledged or resolved, that's fine and dandy, but god forbid Caliborn be a Misogynist in the funniest way possible AND have that get acknowledged literally constantly as a problem. The fact that Caliborn isn't a Fuckable White 13-Year-Old Twink means none of his crimes are ever forgivable because he's ugly and unshippable, or whatever.

Instead some of them firmly believe that s7 was setting up T*mmy to be Buck's endgame love interest.

I get being hopeful and rooting for your ship but they completely ignore what's actually being shown on screen while somehow also acting like canon is the only thing that matters. Make it make sense. 🤦‍♀️Like they attack people simply for celebrating Eddie as a queer character because they haven't said he's queer on the show so that's not allowed. Nevermind the fact that no one said Buck was queer before season 7 but he still is and has been. They call us delusional for still shipping Buddie and wanting to see them together yet Buddie had way more screen time than B/T. And what screen time they did have was also some of the most important Eddie and Buck had all season. Their relationship came out of s7 deeper than it has ever been.

Mostly I just hope that they're not going to attack Oliver and Ryan when that ship inevitably ends. Because Buddie or no Buddie I 100% don't see B*mmy lasting beyond s8. I know they'll blame us but I don't want to see Oliver disappear from social media when a portion of them get smacked in the face with the reality that this was never meant to be a long term ship. I wish they'd realize this is why he's not promoting that ship. He knows to some degree where this storyline is heading and he doesn't want to get peoples hopes up.

Little bittersweet that this might be Fig's swan song. There's like this "six seasons and a movie" mentality that makes me feel like Senior Year is the finish line, so just stick it out for one more. But, if creatively Emily doesn't feel like she can get any more out of the character, then that's that. It's best to move on rather than force it. Or not. It's the end of her time at Aguefort, doesn't mean it's the end of her time with the Bad Kids. The school part of these characters being high schoolers only really came into play this season, so let's wait and see. Emily considered retiring Fig at the start of this season and changed her mind. It could happen again.

On to the fun stuff:

-Gorgug didn't get a last hit on Porter, but he did get a clutch assist in with a narratively satisfying move that uses his Artificer class instead of his Barbarian class, helping drive the last nail in on Porters coffin. *chefs kiss* Going out of Rage while doing it was a perfect way to twist the knife.

-Riz's kill line on KP was stone cold.

-Everyone else's contributions were valuable but none more so than the newest Bad Kid, The Lava. Taking out five major threats during the battle. What a trooper and a strong candidate for Honor Roll.

-I came around on Mary Anne too. I get why some of the Intrepid Heroes were so obsessed with flipping her allegiances.

There's a lot this season that gives a strong finale vibe, but besides that hook at the end there's another thing that keeps going unresolved. Sol and his church keep fucking around and it's about damn time they find out. I don't think Senior Year will be a full-on religious crusade, but it doesn't feel like that plot point should be off the table. And what the fuck is Kalinas deal? So she was never loyal to Cass?

I hope we don't have to wait another 4 years for the next chapter of Fantasy High to get an answer to those questions.

Fig honestly would prob go to school more if she wasn't required to so it's absolutely an Emily decision more than it is a story decision. It's hard to picture FH without her but I'm sure she'll come up with something fun if she's still feeling like retiring Fig whenever they get around to Senior Year.

I think it's arguably MORE fitting that Gorgug didn't get the last hit in and instead got him with a gadget that didn't even do damage. It's like, he got Porter and not even in a way that Porter would respect because it wasn't rageful and violent. That's gotta suck more than if Gorgug had just punched him hard and KO'd him.

The lava was just so so good. It's like when you're a warlock and technically you could do other stuff but spamming Eldritch Blast just gets you the most bang for your buck so you keep doing it. Once they figured out the lava strat, they basically had to keep using it. Lava MVP for sure.

Mary Ann being so checked out for the whole evil plot even while participating in it is so funny. Honestly, queen shit.

I really think that if Kalina is actually bad then that's a retcon from Brennan because that's never been how familiars work and Kalina did try to help them consistently throughout the season with the Spy's Tongue Curse clue. She only attacked them when she got hit with a rage crystal and that was godly interference.

I agree that there are a lot of loose ends re: The Church of Sol (Buddy, Bobby and Sandra Lynn, Helio's lack of a chosen one, Bucky's whole deal, the Helioic pantheon shakeup--how crazy is it that Cass never talks to any of her celestial sibs?). I hope that if we explore that we get to see more about the actual people of the church rather than just the gods because there was a huge god focus in back to back seasons and, as I've mentioned before, if Spyre rules mean that gods are a reflection of their followers, their followers are honestly more interesting. I can't really be mad at Sol for being what he is when his chill level is determined by Bobby Dawn and co, you know? He has limited agency as an entity. Cut out the middle man and let's chase down Bobby directly.

hello, everyone! sometime this year, i started writing this silly idea. basically, since i can remember, i've been such a huge fan of time loops in film. so, i wanted to write some slice-of-life Sides stuck in a time loop. not exactly sure what their statuses are at this point, honestly. maybe some ambiguous LAMP. possibly won't focus too much on labels, and more on their relationships with each other if i do write more of this.

WARNINGS: MILD DESCRIPTIONS OF BLOOD, STRONG LANGUAGE

‐SOME LOOPS ARE FUN!‐

Today, they were playing charades in the living room.

"Uh- Giraffe!"

"No, Patton, you're not-" Roman laughed. "You're not the one guessing."

"Thanks for the help, though, padre," Virgil added. "Hey, Logan, is it a giraffe?"

The one reaching his arms up stiffly to impersonate the word on his piece of paper sighed out of relief. "God, finally. But does that count?" He pulled out his phone to make an internet search. "What were the rules, again?"

"Nah, we can let it slide. Right, Patton?" Virgil lightheartedly jeered, nudging him with his elbow.

Patton snorted. "I guess that's fair."

Roman gasped. "Patton, no! Now they're gaining on us! How could you do this to me? The betrayal! Oh, Patton, the agony!" He laid across Patton's lap as his legs dangled off the end of the sofa.

"Oh, calm down, Princey. You always win," Virgil huffed.

"But this is charades! A game in which one performs! A talented, esteemed actor such as myself shan't lose even one round, or I'll be stripped of my honor and dignity!" Roman raised an arm to his forehead in a distraught manner.

Logan slid his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "Aha! Apparently, Patton giving the answer to Virgil is- uh- 'fair game', as this website put it."

"Awesome."

"NOOOOOOOOOO!"

"Okie dokes! Thanks, Logan!"

"I believe that makes the score seven to six, with 'Team Pizza' in the lead," Logan declared.

Even though the princely figure was still brooding, Roman and Patton high-fived each other.

"Come on, Logan. We gotta lock in. Team Lo Mein has to win. I don't think I can stomach another pizza night this month."

The four played three more rounds and resulted in a tie. It was nearly six, and they were getting hungry. There was time for one more round.

"I believe it is my turn. Best of luck, dear Patton, for if we lose," Roman narrowed his eyes with a threatening smile, "everyone will live to rue this day." He drew his paper from a "borrowed" bowler hat, and smiled. He was ready. Three, two, one... action—

The group jumped as Patton's phone rang. Roman sighed. "Who in the whole new world would be so rude as to interrupt my performance?"

"Some person called, 'Potential Spam'. Funny name," Patton claimed after picking up his phone. "Do we know a 'Potential'? Do I answer?"

"No, Pat-"

A voice came through. "Hello—"

"Whoops. Butterfingers, am I right?" Patton laughed.

The other three sighed.

Virgil grew anxious. "Patton, just hang up."

"Alright!"

The voice became louder. "This is—"

"See- Patton- What you've done there is you've pressed the 'speaker' button," Logan said with a slightly annoyed tone. "Perhaps you could just hand the phone to one of us—"

"—you are in grave danger. You must listen."

"Uh- Sorry, kiddo. I missed that," Patton apologized to the phone, snatching it away from the several hands trying to take it.

"If you are receiving this message, it means you have thirty seconds to evacuate before—"

Patton hung up with a sour expression. "I hate those manipulative attention tactics."

The others screamed and yelled at him in horror.

"Shit shit shit shit."

"Patton, why would you- Oh my God-"

"We're gonna die we're gonna die we're gonna die we're-"

"Calm down, everyone! It was just some oddly named stranger trying to get a reaction! We'll be just fine—"

An extremely high pitch shot through everyone's ears, knocking them out. They all hit the floor, unconcious.

Logan shakily got his phone out of his pocket. "It's—" He squinted his eyes in confusion. "Here, Patton. I can't be reading it correctly. Most likely due to this disorientation I'm experiencing. It couldn't possibly still be five fifty-seven"

Patton reached out his arm and squinted too. "No, Logan, it— You read it right."

"Check the date, Pat. Maybe we slept 'till the next day?" Virgil groaned, pulling his hood over his head to avoid the seemingly blinding light in the living room.

"No, I don't think that's it, son. It's... still the sixth," Patton said, confused.

Roman grunted as he picked himself up and off the desperately-needed-to-be-vacuumed carpet. "Well, I'm not going to leave this game at a draw. Patton, I need you at your most focused right now."

"Bud, I'm seein' double right now, and I think we should find out what's going on-"

"No! We are finishing this game! The right way! I have to win this." He cleared his throat and began to pose before noticing the others staring at him in horror. He sniffed, wiping his nose with his sleeve. Then he saw it. The red. He never got nosebleeds. How did this happen? "What's going on?"

"Roman, are you alright?" Logan stumbled toward him in case he was in need of support.

Patton raced to get tissues.

Virgil remained wide-eyed and shaken, sitting on the floor. "Roman, that's- I'm freakin' the fuck out, man- That's a lot of blood." He felt the tremor in his hands that he'd had since he was little. He didn't handle these kinds of situations well. "These kinds"? As if there was a way to categorize what the actual fuck was happening.

Patton came back with the tissues and a clean shirt for Roman, which he was thankful for. The blood had gotten on his collar before Logan had made the wise decision of tilting his head back to stop the bleed-out. "Do you think this was 'cause of...?" Patton stopped. He didn't really know what had happened, but he was making vague connections.

"Whatever knocked us out?" Logan suggested, taking Roman's bloody shirt and sitting it down on the coffee table. He held his forehead in his hands, groaning from the aching sensation. "It'd make sense."

"What did knock us out?" Roman questioned, holding the tissues to his nose after changing into the not-bloody shirt.

"How the hell would we know, Roman-? Sorry. I'm just- more stressed than usual, and my 'usual' is pretty fuckin' stressed." Virgil tugged on his sleeves, occupying his hands with something other than shaking.

"The best way to solve this is to recount the events that occurred before this happened," Logan supplied. "It could potentially help us remember."

"Well," Patton started, "today, we were arguing over what we wanted for dinner, and so-"

"We landed on a game of charades to decide for us," Roman added.

"It was a pretty close game, and the last person to go up was Roman," Virgil said.

Roman grumbled, "I didn't even get to start."

"Because Patton's phone went off," Logan answered.

"The phone! I got a weird call from someone named Potential! That was when it happ-"

The phone rang.

Like, take one screenshot where he says "That's the worst video ever taken". Let's suppose that's a real screenshot for a moment, within the screenshot there's absolutely nothing that indicates what he's actually talking about. It's literally JUST that. The burner account CLAIMS that Karl said it was about one of Dream's singing tiktoks, but there's nothing even remotely presented that indicates that. Literally JUST "That's the worst video ever taken". He could literally be talking about any video.

Again, there's no verification that any of these are real, and some of them don't even make sense???

Like, okay, what would Karl not wanting to Paris have to do with anything? Like, maybe he didn't want to travel to Paris, maybe he was exhausted from flights, maybe he didn't want to deal with the jetlag. Maybe he said that sarcastically as a joke. The message before that was someone joking about him going to france being bad. There's again, no timestamps or context. He's within his rights to not want to go to Paris. It has nothing to do with anything else.

Also claiming that Karl was planning to intentionally distract people, because he "knew this would come out" by streaming with Sapnap or spamming tweets about other stuff? I- What? If he knew a mod was going to leak stuff, why would he not remove that mod? Why would he keep saying stuff in the chat with that mod in that? How would he even gets a heads up that the mod in question intended to leak stuff? Without knowing who it was?

I have no idea if these messages are real, again, this is something that takes literally seconds to fabricate, there's no confirmation any of this is actually coming from one of Karl's mods, there's absolutely no context included in any of the messages for if he might be being sarcastic or even talking about totally different topics. No context for dates/times other than "Today" which is honestly pretty sus because either it implies that Karl went and said this all in one day, like randomly he decided to shittalk people in his mod chat, talked about it, knew someone would leak his messages and just thought that was all well and fine. And that's assuming any of these are even real in the first place. Which is a pretty huge assumption.

Anyways, I'm begging people to stop taking discord screenshots from random fucking people as gospel. Some of you are legitimately falling for what is stupider than Infowars shit, "oh my secret sources in the government totally told me this is real". Next y'all are gonna come up and tell me that you found out that Karl or Dream or whoever is funded by Soros and you found the contacts posted on 4chan I stg.

So I saw that Street Fighter tier list, and I noticed that C. Viper was near dead last. I'm not too familiar with her, but I was under the impression she was pretty well-liked by SFIV standards--any reason why you dislike her so much?

I don't actually dislike her much as a character, I put her at the bottom because of how much I hate Viper's playstyle. That wasn't really a tier list for the series in general, more so about the prospecting of those characters returning (ex: I don't hate Necalli, I wrote the biggest semi-defense the dude is ever gonna get, and I still know he needs to fuck off). In Viper's case, I find her uniquely grating to watch because she spends so much time spamming feint Seismic Hammer to condition control over the opponent's jumps or canceling Burning Kick in the air to mix up her landings, and it makes it she's always doing that ringing sound all the goddamn time, at least El Fuerte's squeaky shoes and running animation are funny. Yes, it kind of is sublimely perfect that the CIA agent's playstyle consists of overtly psychologically conditioning and electrically torturing your opponent into opening up, but that lands her into a firm "fuck off forever" for me because I never want to sit through a Viper match in SFIV and MvC3 alike, or ever again. So unless they did something about that, I don't consider it a loss if she's never playable again. She probably will though, if not in 6 then in 7, but that's a headache for later.

I mean, SFIV standards were abysmally low so you could say Viper was comparatively well-received next to the other new characters, but she was never really that popular. In fact even at the game's launch Ono was surprised that players weren't latching onto Viper, despite Viper being custom-made for Western audiences

“With all due to respect to him (Abel), he’s a great character, but honestly we thought Crimson Viper would be a big hit here,” said Ono. “We got a lot of marketing data and a lot of advice from our US branch in creating that character. She was kind of custom tailored for the States and we thought people would like her.”

People did start playing her a lot more overtime because she turned out to be a competitive scene monster, but I mostly remember people being baffled and cynical when she got picked for MvC3. C.Viper was a popular moveset, but not so much a popular character, and it wasn't at all difficult for Juri to completely eclipse her, despite how hard they were trying to push Viper at first. I think you can very easily point to what Ono said as a reason why she didn't catch on that much. She is blatantly designed to appeal to American audiences and that made her more of a gimmick than a character. She is Angelina Jolie as a secret agent spy in an extremely tight-fitting pantsuit who also has superhero powers that nobody else has and that she achieves with technology. I already don't give much of a damn about most of the military/government affiliated characters in the series, but they tend to have other things going on that Viper really doesn't.

The KOF ladies she's ripping off have distinct fighting styles (and those games get to play much more loose with character design) they get to provide an interesting take on by doing it while dressing fashionably, but Viper is defined by her reliance on gadgets and gimmicks. She is a very generic videogame protagonist lady who plays like one of those hodpedodge World Tour characters, and she's not even a bad design on her own, she's just not really pulling her weight as a Street Fighter character. She represents nothing, and I don't think she has anything going on really justifies her inclusion over another character.

All that said, I actually do think Viper is a useful character to have around. I'm against her ever being playable again but, like I said, she probably will, and fine, she has a allright enough niche as a character. I am exceedingly generous to a lot of SF characters I'm otherwise not a fan of and she's a character I can talk myself into appreciating more, as I'm doing now. She's a decent POV character to drive stories around in her IV and V appearences, given her job forces her to play detective around the characters, but she actively doesn't want to fight, so she's always going to run when the going gets rough and leave the fighting to the actual main characters. Her priority is to do her job so she can go home and be with her daughter and that's all she cares about, she has neither time nor patience to care about this and she finds it frankly ridiculous that people call her gadgets unfair, when she's just trying to get the fight done as quickly as possible.

They get some good mileage out of the fact that she stands for nothing and that she is intruding somewhere she doesn't belong, that she's just punching the clock on a job she was given, that she really doesn't have any kind of beef with these people and just needs them to get out of her way and really has no stake other than survival for her family's sake, and that all the fighters detest her, whether it's because she is blatantly cheating, or because she's a pain in the ass, or because of how viciously she brutalized Cammy (not sure if that whole movie is canon still), that kind of thing.

It could be very possible that Juri ls lying, and the illustration is definitely exaggerated, but I enjoyed the reveal in SF6 that she and Viper have basically become partners in crime, that Juri considers them "cut from the same cloth", and that she has the same goal as a greedy career criminal who kidnaps people for evil organizations (which was the same thing C.Viper was doing undercover). I enjoy them mostly dispensing with the pretense that Viper is supposed to be a good person and I enjoy the series letting one of it's government/military agent characters be a bastard/ honest about the job they have.

She can love her daughter as much as she wants and even have decent enough interactions with other characters, it's not going to make her not a CIA spook who beats up and tortures people with electric gauntlets on the clock. It isn't even that unbelievable that she would wind up on good terms with Juri, not just because they're both cheating with technological assets, or because they were both working for the same guy and biding their time to backstab him, but because they both exist to break the rules everyone else is mostly abiding by, neither strong enough to attrack too much attention as villains nor weak enough that they can't match the heroes when push to comes to shove. They both had personal revenge stakes to get through (Juri with her parents, Viper with her fallen partners), and with both of their targets gone, they get to just be themselves: cockroaches trying to make off with the prize / turn a profit in a space they view as largely dominated by suckers.

Much like Mel Masters in the 6 comic, I think it's good for Street Fighter to have characters that have an agnostic/adverse relationship to the concept of street fighting, and to her credit, there is something really funny about her position. She is a James Bond in a world full of evil organizations and villains to fight, but the only way to get to them is through fighting tournaments, and all the actual heroes of the world fighting said people hate her guts for cheating and refusing to put in the work they did in martial arts that are, apparently, the most important thing in the world I guess??? She is a hypercompetent superspy who wishes she could be out there doing regular espionage stuff, and instead has to deal with superpowered fighting bozos flushing years of careful investigative work down the toilet. Born to blow up islands full of henchmen and arm South American coups, forced to step into the ring with Ryu from the Streets who doesn't even pay taxes.

Having homework on math or just the math itself is the complete opposite of fun. the struggle is real. even the teacher itself is also annoying. why giving these much of work especially on weekends. you couldn't even solve one question from the work. already struggling from the start, you called your best friend Jake to help you out.

He thinks he's pretty good at it but looks like he's also struggling judging from the face. "Jake are you sure you know the answer cause you don't seems to know it by looking at your face" of course he didn't but how can he admit that when he literally call himself 'math genius' 2 days ago.

"i got it trust me" that's what he says. you're not sure if you can trust him. the questions are hard and so many. "the answer should be 3 according to the back answer but i got 7" you swear you could just burn the whole book. the only thing that stopped you is nothing, you just did not burn it yet. "alright let me try."

Almost giving up after a good 10 minutes of him trying to get the right answer. he slowly put down the pen. looking straight at you trying to hold his laugh. "i got 10.5" a good seconds of silence were heard before bursting into laughter. even the 'math genius' couldn't get the right answer you honestly didn't know what to do.

"how did i even get 10.5? is there something wrong with the questions?" he even blamed it on the question now. he insists on trying again but this time he got 77.8??? is he really good at math or he just trippin'. "jake how!? 77.8? i didn't even get that much of number!" you laughed, shouted at him. but in return he just giggle looking at you.

When you laughed, he felt something in his chest. he felt so good seeing you laughing when he is the one making you laugh. he didn't even realise you're that pretty when you smile of course he did think that you're a pretty girl but just now you're even more beautiful. he just stare lovingly at you while you're busy laughing at him but he didn't mind that one bit.

"let's take a break although no question is solved. I'll make some ramyeon for us" jake agreed to you because it's ramyeon. you quickly went to the kitchen and make some ramyeon with SPAM of course. after 15 mins it's done. you served the ramyeon and eat.

"you can rest I'll try solving it for you hopefully this time i get the right answer" it's past 10 now and you're tired so without complain you rest your head on the table near him and doze off to sleep. for only 15 minutes he was able to concentrate. how can he focus on math when you're sleeping next to him. he look at you and thinks you're the cutest little angel ever to exist. he found himself staring at you for as long as he can remember. he take pictures of you and smile like an idiot.

"So cute" he mumbled. you suddenly moved from your position and that make him flinched a little, quickly put his phone away afraid that you might see him. "did you get the answer jakey?" you asked half asleep. 'jakey' that's all he have on his mind. you never called him like that. it made his heart skipped a beat.

"It's getting late i think you should go home. tomorrow's Saturday anyway. will you come and help me out again jakey?" again with the nickname. he didn't know why he felt this way but he knew there's something new he never felt towards you. he went home since it's past 11 midnight.

While laying on his bed he couldn't stop looking at his phone cause he was looking at your taken pictures of you sleeping, so cute yet funny. hair all messy but peacefully sleeping. "I'm going crazy" he mumbled. if people see him right now they might considered him as crazy. he look at the time, it's 12:23 am, Saturday and that's when he knew he deeply fell in love with you and wouldn't be able to get out of it easily.

Minutes have passed still looking at his phone thinking that you didn't noticed him while ago. but little did he know that you're not asleep the whole time? no, he didn't have to. but one thing for sure is that you felt the same way as him.

Erm take another Sakura and Shinobu fic when they’re in their second year! Featuring Mao, my mutual’s self insert Rumi and my other self insert Ayaka :D (cough cough @maoisarap HELLO :3 )

Mao, Rumi and Ayaka sat in the room together, the sun reflecting on the chairs and table. Ayaka brought over more snacks as she waited for Sakura to arrive, offering some to Rumi. As they took a few pieces, Mao spoke up.

“Okay, seriously. Isn’t Shinobu supposed to be here by now?”

“And Sakura should be here too! Where the heck are they?!”

Ayaka exclaimed as she frowned and looked at her phone again. She texted Sakura at least 15 times, spamming her phone. Rumi became concerned as well, wondering where the auburn-haired idol was. As the time read to be almost 3pm, it had been at least 30 minutes since class ended. Rumi then suggested an idea. 

“Why don't we go look for them?”

“Yumenosaki is gigantic, they could be anywhere though…” Ayaka commented.

Mao suggested “Ah, Rumi and I could go look on the left and Ayaka could look on the right.”

“That's great! Plus, it’ll give me track practice! Wahaha, see y'all in like 10!”

Ayaka stood up at the idea of running around the school and immediately left. Rumi and Mao just looked at each other and also left, trying to find Shinobu. Mao began to make conversation with Rumi about them.

“Ah … Shinobu has been ranting to me recently about Sakura. It’s sort of funny honestly, since Ayaka also tells me how much Sakura admires him too.”

“Really? They just seem oblivious to each other’s feelings then.”

“That’s exactly what's going on! Just a few days ago, Shinobu mentioned how Sakura made an origami shuriken for him and how she keeps on getting him snacks and stuff.”

“Hehe, ain’t that sweet? I'm betting that they’ll confess by this valentines day.”

“It’s gonna be much longer, like at least winter.”

“Don’t you have hope for them at least?”

“I do have hope! I just know they’re both shy so it’ll be a minute. At least it’s entertaining.”

“It 100% is.”

They both giggled as Mao continued to talk more about the student council treasurer. The hallways seemed to be endless as they looked for them in classrooms and empty club rooms. Their voices vibrated as it was mainly quiet.

“Actually, he’s meant to give her a gift today. He says that it’s to repay how kind she was to him, but I'm thinking he just spotted it and thought of her.”

“Do you know what it is?”

“Yeah, it’s meant to be a cute plushie from a show she likes. What was its name … well he told me the show. I’ll look it up.”

As Mao searched for the show, Rumi stood next to him as he typed quickly. He zoomed in on an image as he pointed to a cute creature with mouse ears and wings.

“Its supposed to be this if i'm correct.”

“Awh, it looks super cute! Sakura would love it!”

“Shinobu does really know her well, he mentioned that it was from her favorite manga series. It’s Card Captor Sakura.”

“I think I've heard of it before, she definitely would love it. It’s a magical g-“

Rumi halted their speech as they heard voices in an empty classroom. They looked at Mao, wondering if he also heard it. As he started back, they both knew to walk to the room quietly. As they walked to the room, the voices got louder and they began to listen in. 

“Seriously, Algebra 2 isn’t that hard.”

“You make it look so easy though! What do you even do here again?”

“Oh god, you just simply using the quadratic formula. Plug in the numbers here … and you see? X should equal -3 plus or minus i.”

“Thanks again, Sakura.”

“Anytime, Shinobu. Any other topics?”

“Well there's also Chemistry…”

“Jeez- didn’t you need to go to student council?”

“-! Oh right! Ah, how long has it been!?”

“Like half an hour, go on already!”

“You too! Ayaka must be waiting for you there as well!”

“Shit, you’re right. Uwaghhhhh, she texted me like 15 times!”

Mao accidentally leaned on the door too hard, opening it. As Sakura and Shinobu looked at Mao and Rumi with shock, he smiled and waved at them.

“Well hey there…” Mao said sheepishly.

Sakura began to look embarrassed “How long were you there for?”

“Not too long, honestly, you were finishing up the last problem.” Rumi mentioned.

“Oh god. Well… uh…. We were just going.”

“IS THAT SAKURAAAAA?”

Ayaka’s voice ringed in the halls, as she quickly ran down towards them. She smiled brightly as she opened the other door to the classroom and grinned at all of them.

“Sa-ku-raaaaaa! I missed you dearly my lovely, lovely friend! Where have you been?”

“You’re acting like my older sister! Ugh…”

“I’ve known you long enough that we’re practically sisters! Wahaha, you’re still as adorable as ever. Wabababab-“

“Can you STOP squishing my face!?”

Sakura swatted Ayaka’s hand away from her face as she continued to smile and tease her.

“Ehehehe, you’re still acting like a tsundere! One day you’ll come around. Speaking of that, why weren’t you at the student council office?”

“Oh, I was just helping Shinobu with some problems in Algebra 2. I thought it wouldn’t take too long.”

“Well it took like half an hour! We missed you so much, we thought you were dead!”

“No you didn’t. And it took you half an hour to complete 7 problems? You gotta improve your time as well.”

Sakura turned to Shinobu, mentioning how long it took. Shinobu seemed embarrassed as well.

“I’ll improve over time, math is just difficult!”

“And English. And chemistry. All your core subjects! Except history, you seem to be fine with that.”

“You see! I'm not bad at all subjects!”

“Just most. It’s fine though, you’re still amazing.”

Sakura smiled at him as she zipped up her messenger bag. A small blush grew on Shinobu’s face as he looked over at Mao and Rumi.

“I’ll go with Mao and Rumi and finish up some student council work. See you tomorrow?”

“Of course! Love you!”

“Love you too! Bye bye!”

As Sakura and Ayaka left together, Shinobu hid his face in his hands.

“You tell each other “I love you” and yet you still haven’t confessed?” Rumi questioned

“Look- it’s just platonically!” Shinobu excused.

“Oh god…Did you give her the plushie yet?”

“Y-you know?!”

“Yep.”

“Oh my god … and I don't think I did yet.”

As Shinobu checked his bag, the plush was still there. He groaned as he picked up the plush and held it.

“Augh, I don't even know how to mention it. Like, Do I just mention I got her this or do I wait for the right time? This is honestly too difficult.”

As he worried about how to talk to Sakura, Mao snickered at the sight of him panicking over something so small. It definitely was going to take a while until they confessed.

but that aside, absolutely. until that changes, really it's not that hard for the men who are going with women (who don't want to go crazy with their outfits/who are more lowkey like you said) to just. wear something nice and on theme that compliments their partner's outfit and they'll be FINE. anything is better than something boring with no effort; effort doesn't have to equal crazy and fancy and elaborate. like austin's 2022 look has always been a standout to me because it was still a really nice look (even if it was simple) and it also worked so well because of who he had at his side. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but i also literally don't know shit ab fashion so i rly shouldn't be speaking on it LOL. i just know some things make me go oh no and some make me go YUM

emulating tomodachi life

so as the title says it, i play tomodachi life through an emulator (i also have it on my 3ds) and idk i just wanted to tell you about something funny that happened to me..

So yeah, i emulate TL to play it, and i downloaded recently that litle program, tomodachi life save editor, which is, honestly, super useful when you're playing it this way. For example, it allows you unlock the import shop, which is something you can't do throught the emulator (bcs u don't have streetpass TvT)(i mean, there's probably a way to get streetpass trough the emulator, but i don't know it then) and much more, and i'm going to tell you a short story about weddings and game crash....

it all started one morning. i was playing roblox and i told myself : wait, why wouldn't you play tomodachi life instead ? so that's what i did, and when i opened the game : BOOM, one of my miis wanted to marry their lover (her name is Lacroix. i can explain why "lacroix" XDD) SO I WAS SUPER HAPPY, as anybody would, ig ? i mean, who isn't when you see that litle heart ? well expect when its for divorces lol but anyway (it isn't even a heart when it's a divorce actually..... as far as i remmeber at least)

i helped la croix to propose to her lover, Rafl'tou (I CAN EXPLAIN TOO, i didn't know how to name him so i gave him a similar name to the french name of the bulgar boys : les raptou. idk honestly.) so yeah everything went well, HOORAY !!!! they're married !! and then i decided to do other things. here you can see a pic of their wedding

so, i went to Claude's APT (he's one of my mii). (ig you understood that i'm french lol TvT) and he wanted to be friend with claudine. Claude and Claudine, in my oc universe are twins, so i was super happy !(note that i would never use Tomodachi life save editor to force my miis to love each others or whatever. i just use it to unlock things you cannot unlock on an emulator) and well, he went in C.dine's apt, and they talked.

i was SO happy that i spam-screenshoted the game. VERY BAD IDEA. because the emulator CRASHED . and did i talk about saving the game ? NO, BECAUSE I DIDN'T !!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A DUMBASS !!!!!!!!!!!!!! here's the fatal screenshot

i knew that when coming back, they wouldn't be married, and that neither they would like to marry each other again. but i still opened the game. i couldn't modify the game via TLSE to make them married again because it would just make the game cvrash if i changed their status to " married", because the houses wouldn't be unlocked, etc..... BUT. GUESS WHAT. ANOTHER COUPLE WANTED TO BE MARIED. and they did !!!!! so THIS TIME, i SAVEDthe game. here are they :

so then i closed the game just after. i opened tlse and set lacroix and rafl'tou as a married couple , hooray !! thay were maried again !!... that's where the fun thing begin.

my game didn't crash. they houses were opened. so they should be married, right ? lol..... But, oh, surprise ! when i opened the game, there were only ONE house. Uh oh. wait, it didn't work ? WELL ACTUALLY. it WORKED. but too well.

The two couples are married. BUT THEY SHARE the same HOUSE.

i'm not even joking. look at this.

I'm so happy someone else is getting enjoyment out of the stuff I post! I have a mission to bring these snippets of canon out into the open because I think there's so much to Hux's character that isn't present/obvious in the movies, and thus a majority of it will be missed by casual fans. There's many moving parts to Hux's life that get glanced over but are so integral to him — Sloane, Brendol, Armitage's childhood, the Empire, the rise and fall of the First Order, the state of the Galaxy's economy, politics, technology...

I want everyone to see that Hux isn't just the 'haha funny evil hotheaded military man' that the movies present, but a wonderfully deep, tragic character as a whole — even with all the flaws of sequel-trilogy writing. And that's why we love him.

And I'm only barely just started. My "to-read" list is a bit ridiculous and I'm a chronically slow reader. My dream is to one day somehow have some sort of comprehensive post of all of Hux's core traits and history, but that's far off....

Interesting(?) Corollary on Aroarce!Euden

So, I've kinda already dug up the more obvious scenes that hint that Euden seemed to be Aroace (as seen here if you missed it).

But as I was spamming Dragalia to my friend today, I found another thing that I think is an interesting addition to this previous evidence.

Specifically, Orion's stories. His base form doesn't exactly give out any flags, aside from his continuing absolute blind spot re. romance...

...But his Valentine's alt has an interesting line in it indeed.

The exchange is as follows:

Again, pretty innocent. Euden thinks he's 'too young' essentially, to be worrying about that, etc. Fair enough.

But this concept seems to be echoed again all the way later in Summer Mym's story.

I'll stress the 'not mature enough to understand what it means to be in love' part for this one.

Here's where it gets hypothetical, but to me, it almost comes across as if Euden, growing up, has learned to associate 'romantic love' with 'maturity' in some fashion. It might stand to reason: kids are often told that, when they see couples behaving certain ways that are weird to them, etc, 'you'll understand when you're older/an adult/when you find that special someone/etc.' So child!Euden might have had a similar moment or three, and associated that romantic love=maturity.

The mere omnipresence of romance as a major theme in society probably doesn't help to dissuade the notion that it's the 'normal' state in the world, and that he is the weird one as he grew up to never having that spark of 'oh now I get romantic love'. Combined with the aforementioned connection he's made, Euden might believe that since he still doesn't feel it, it means he's not mature/too young.

Combined with his other comments over the years like flat-out stating to Naveed he doesn't understand the kind of love he's talking about (romantic) to Malora's story where he says "(romantic love/'capturing someone's affections') [is] just not the kind of thing [he] think about", Euden is consistent on the notion that he just flat out doesn't understand what people mean and feel regarding romance and the corresponding love.

At the very most, he can echo some of the trope sentiments people commonly say word-for-word in media, but even that kinda reinforces that he can at best throw out the most common tropes when trying to come up with what 'romantic love' is: this fanciful 'love at first sight' devotion where one puts absolutely everything about their partners ahead of anything else.

Even then, he doesn't mean a word of it and doesn't really understand why Elisanne is acting all weird about it, because he understands it was an act, she knows that, why would anyone react to having that spoke to them? He was just mindlessly repeating tropes from romance books to upset a dumb fiend. At most, he could see why it was uncomfortable - because it is uncomfortable having that kind of stuff professed to you when you don't like someone, which Euden would perceive Elly as feeling (Heck, he doesn't even really know Elisanne is big into romance novels, thinking 'it's not like her'). In fact, he more bases this comment on making her uncomfortable from a religious sense with the whole 'undying love of Ilia' thing she's forsworn above all else.

So yeah. Valentine's Orion provided an interesting prequel to Summer Mym's story that I felt added a new little layer of elaboration about what Euden thinks of love. All in all, it's surprising just how consistent they were in the messaging some of Euden's thoughts regarding romantic love and its associates.

Also, apparently the dev team was being funny, and decided to add a running joke for Orion's anniversary lines that Euden just immediately starts walking away and ignoring him whenever he starts waxing poetic about love:

Which, as my friend said, "Honestly what a mood for Euden to walk away/zone out when it comes to things he doesn't experience, aka romance. If he doesn't know what it's like then it's hard to focus or even relate"

The idea of Euden just getting a glaze over his eyes and meandering off whenever somebody starts talking like this is a funny one, though!
