Dating Headcanons — K. Bakugo

Remember, these are just my personal opinions. You don't have to agree.

Synopsis: In which I give my personal Katsuki dating Headcanons.

Author's note: These headcanons work for pre-timeskip and after. Although, I do plan to do one that's specifically after the war.

1. Loves Having His Back Scratched.

If you have nails, you’ve basically unlocked his secret weakness. He won’t outright ask for it, but if you’re lying next to him and start absentmindedly running your nails down his back, he’ll melt.

Sometimes he’ll lean into your touch subtly, pretending it’s no big deal, but if you stop too soon, he might grumble, “Tch, you can keep going, y’know.”

If he’s had a rough day, nothing relaxes him more than you scratching his back while he rests his head on your lap.

2. Struggles to say “I love you.”

Those words feel too big for him, and he’s never been great at voicing emotions. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t show it.

His way of showing it is the three squeezes, whether on your hand, your side, or even your knee under the table, is his silent way of saying what he can’t. If you ever squeeze back, expect a smug little smirk.

3. Nicknames Over Pet Names.

You will never hear princess, sweetheart, or baby girl from him. Ever. It’s just not his style.

But he will call you by a shortened version of your name. For example, Julia turns into Jules (Shout out to the girl's named Julia).

If you manage to get a rare “babe” out of him, it’s probably when he’s half-asleep, distracted, when you're mad, or after a really good kiss.

4. Hates Silent Treatment, but Also Sucks at communicating.

If you’re mad at him and won’t talk about it, it drives him insane. He can’t fix something if he doesn’t know what’s wrong!

But he’s just as bad at communicating his own feelings, so expect some stubborn stand-offs. And a ton of fights about how to communicate properly.

Eventually, his frustration will get the better of him, and he’ll blurt out something like, “Just spit it out already, I ain’t a mind reader!”

If you call him out for not talking about his feelings, he’ll get defensive: “That’s different!” (It’s not).

5. Smells Like Caramel and Bananas.

It’s a mix of his natural scent and whatever shower gel he grabs at the store. Without cologne, he carries a warm, slightly sweet scent of burnt caramel and ripe bananas.

With cologne, he goes for something woody and a little spicy, think cedarwood, pepper, and maybe a hint of citrus. It makes him smell good.

6. Takes the Relationship Seriously.

He never expected to be in a relationship, so if he’s with you, it’s because you genuinely mean something to him.

He treats it like training. He wants to be the best at it. Low-key competitive, about it, too. If another couple does something cute, he might scoff but secretly wonder if he should step up his game.

The idea of messing this up terrifies him, so he tries (in his own way) to make sure you’re happy.

7. Rarely Gets Jealous, But When He Does...

He’s confident. If he didn’t trust you, you wouldn’t be together in the first place.

But if he does feel a little jealous, he handles it one of two ways:

The subtle approach: casually resting his arm around your shoulders or pulling you closer, just enough to make it clear you’re his.

The usual crash out approach: if he’s already in a bad mood, expect some aggressive “Tch, why’s that extra clinging to you?” remarks or an over-the-top display of how much better he is.

8. Not a fan of PDA, but Likes Close Proximity.

He’s not the type to kiss you in public or act all lovey-dovey where others can see. It makes him uncomfortable (low-key, me too).

However, he does like having you close. Holding your hand? Fine. Arm around your shoulders? Yeah, that’s manageable.

He thrives in those casual, low-key moments, sitting next to you with his knee touching yours, letting you lean into him, or absentmindedly fiddling with your fingers when no one’s looking.

9. Loves Taking You Out on Dates (But Keeps Them Low-Key).

Contrary to what some might think, he does take you on dates. He just prefers them to be chill rather than extravagant.

Movie nights, cooking dinner together, going on late-night walks, watching the stars, or training together (sparring is a love language to him).

If he does something more planned, it’s probably because Kirishima said, “Dude, take them somewhere nice.” Or it's a special event such as your birthday.

10. Love language? Acts of Service:

He’s the “I fixed it for you” boyfriend. Won’t say he cares, but your stuff is always in working order. Also, really appreciate it when you do something for him.

Physical touch isn't his thing, and neither are words, so this is his way of showing you he cares.

If you drop your bag, he'll pick it up and carry it for the rest of the day, probably grumbling about how you should be more careful with your stuff.

Here's how i imagine home as puppet. Because she can't walk, i put her on a wheelchair. But they can talk (my reasoning probably doesn't make sense, i'm sorry)

Headcanon: Home is just a nickname Wally gave them and they accept because they never had a nickname before. I think his real name could be Houston

Explanation: Houston means Hugh's town, which can, when given as a first name, act as a lovely nod to a dear one called Hugh. Hugh means mind spirit which I believe Home could be. Also Houston to me sounds like house and host but that's just my opinion.

Possesed: i draw "possesed" home because even though the dark substance lives in him, we know that something is wrong when it's too late (i will draw home like this in the scene of Eddie having a panic attack, in short Words.)

Though i believe the dark substance is taking over home when he feels strong emotions. We all know that home can cry, but why nobody was talking that home cries with dark tears?

(look under home's eye. I could call it a proof but i'm 100% sure. It's confirmed that home can cry but this page belongs to non-canon unless PartyCoffin confirms it. So did he change how Home is crying or it's still the same but the art isn't cannon?)

I just wanted to ask if you ever feel bad (idk if that’s the right phrase) with shipping yourself with a character who is widely accepted to be aroace (ford)

I mean sometimes I feel awful for having oc x canon/self ships with characters who are headcanoned as aroace because I feel like I’m being selfish or something (even though I feel like I could be on the aroace spec myself)

Do you ever feel like that or do you have a different perspective on it?

I know you headcanon him as aroace AND biromantic (i think correct me if im wrong)

I’m just worried I’m being harmful because I’m not “letting them be aroace” because most aroace characters get shipped with others

I just wanna know what it’s like doing self shipping when you yourself have stated to at least be on the aroace spectrum

Hey! Sorry for taking so long to answer this. I kept going back to look at it to try and craft the perfect response but then kept forgetting g and ah you know how it goes.

I do not at all feel bad for self shipping with Ford. As an aroace person myself I think I should be allowed to play dress up with my favorite fictional man. I would actually argue that it's more widely headcanoned in the fandom that Ford is gay (which, I don't agree with lmao) and I STILL don't feel bad because there is no real canon orientation for any of the characters in gravity falls. It's not important to the plot, their stories, or anything, so the creator never felt the need to explicitly state anything (unlike say Vivziepop with hazbin hotel).

Also like, no, I don't think that it's selfish at all. He is fictional. He is not real. He cannot bleed. He cannot hear you. And he cannot defend himself. He's an idea. And I'd even argue that if anyone has the authority to hc Ford as aroace and still ship with him, its aroace people (us).

I COULD be wrong, but the state of Silco's eye in the AU makes me think things went down differently MUCH earlier than Vi's death. Silco's eye looks like it's never seen a drop of shimmer in the AU, which to me suggests he never teamed up with Doctor Reveck and plotted his whole takeover by becoming the monster they fear.

Again, could be very wrong, and just enough time passed without using *more* shimmer that it healed to something pale and benign-looking, but I get the feeling that the implication is that Silco found the note in that universe, and instead of avoiding Vander for literal years until Silco had the upper hand, he took a chance on seeing if the big man was actually sincere and, specifically, if that meant Vander hadn't given up on Zaun.

Because at the end of the day, that's what Silco hated him for: giving up on the revolution, taking a deal from Piltover and kissing enforcer boots. And that's why he was going to kill the kids (and half succeeded, two out of four,) because they're the reason Vander went soft and stopped fighting.

As long as AU Vander kept his spine, they're golden, and I do love the idea of Silco detouring before seeing Vander to play with little Powpow. One of my own headcanons is that Silco dipped pretty quickly after Vi was born, only showed up at The Last Drop after bedtime. Started insisting on meeting in their hideout in the mines because the children were a distraction. Which would explain why the kids don't know Silco like they do Vander, and I feel like Warwick's memories semi-support this. Silco's not in the family scenes with Vi and Powder. (But also Warwick's memories are swiss cheese, so not exactly empirical evidence.)

But having seen the apology note and maybe having had a think about how much he'd distanced himself from all of them, to the point that Vander snapped in the direction that he did... maybe Silco would want to give the girls a chance. (Not to mention Vander's less likely to change his mind and beat Silco's head in if there's wee ones present! Child shield! Strategy! Oops, she's actually super cute. Now he's attached.)

...damnit, my brain is spitting out Scenarios again. I might have to one shot this...

I think it's so interesting and fascinating, actually, that Silco still wants to work with Vander in his ideal scenario of early S1... Yes he absolutely goes the wrong way about it - you know, murdering his BFF in front of him, kidnapping and hitting him (although who knows. maybe he's like. Vander used to be into that. for all i know), THREATENING HIS KIDS, but he wants a partnership with Vander. Or at least the Hound part of Vander.

For me it's the whole reason why the AU Vander/Silco does make sense. Silco wanted the partnership still - Vander agreed after Vi's death radicalized him again - they reunited and fell back in love with each other

But also, I'm obsessed with the thought of Silco just. Doing it differently. Wanting his Hound back but realizing that he has to work a different way to make Vander agree. Obviously, I'm me, so I do, in fact, want Vander to have a heart attack the day he catches Silco and Powder playing together in the Last Drop.

I have a crush on that boy, but what if he had a crush? 🤔

Jihoon cannot look you in the eyes. He usually is good about eye contact because he is very polite, but if he catches your eyes, he will quickly avert his gaze anywhere else. He still likes to talk to you, but he gets overwhelmed and lost in his thoughts if he’s looking straight into your eyes. Sometimes, he tries to look at your nose, so it will at least seem like he’s looking at you, but he still finds it too cute when you wrinkle it to laugh, so he ends up looking away anyway.

Jihoon rambles. A simple “Hello” will turn into him oversharing about his weekend, favorite show, or work. He cannot stop and your patient smile only encourages him to keep going. He eventually will realize and let a sentence trail off as his face turns red. He only stops being embarrassed when you reply with the same energy. You both end up yapping as much as possible, going from topic to topic almost randomly. Anyone listening in on the conversation would get lost because it’s like you have your own language together.

Jihoon can’t flirt. At all. It doesn’t come naturally to him. If he tries to be cute, he just gets embarrassed. He’s also afraid of being seen as a creep. You lightly flirt with him and he doesn’t notice. If you turn it up a little, he either misinterprets it or gets really awkward. He claims to be a direct person or the type to just be straight-forward and tell you, but, in reality, he will take his secret crush to the grave.

Literally everyone notices when Jihoon is crushing. He doesn’t realize how obvious he is when every other topic of conversation is you or what you like or what’s going on in your life. The other members joke about it quietly, but they make sure he doesn’t know or else it would end their favorite entertainment. They find it super fun to watch him get flustered around you then turn around like nothing happened. They even try to get him closer to you or leave you two alone together, just to eavesdrop or peek into the room to witness him freak out a little.

Jihoon writes a ton of love songs. They probably won’t see the light of day and some of them are just sentences in his notes app, but every beautiful melody he thinks of is inspired by you in some way (and some of the horny ones too). Fans would say that these types of songs were written with a pink glitter gel pen which is only true in vibes. He isn’t kicking his feet and writing in twirly handwriting, but his heart is whether he likes it or not.

Jihoon pretends to be nonchalant but remembers super specific things about you. Like, he’ll hand you your favorite obscure candy from your childhood that you told him about one time four months ago, and say something like “don’t make a big deal out of it” or “i just saw this and remembered”. In reality, it took him forever to find it and he wasn’t even sure if it was discontinued or not. He was about to look up a recipe for it to make it from scratch, but he found it, ordered it, then waited like a kid on Christmas for the package to arrive. He gives maximum effort for small details and pretends like it’s nothing.

It’s a lot easier to get Jihoon to open up than you think. He claims that he doesn’t want to burden anyone with his emotions when they are heavy, and he doesn’t always want to share his feelings so outwardly, but if you ask him like twice, he’ll tell you all about it. You can visibly see his shoulders un-tense when he tells you about his struggles. He trusts you and can’t keep anything from you. He’s also just bad at lying, so you can tell something is up with him almost immediately.

Jihoon doesn’t like physical touch BUT ONLY when he isn’t expecting it. He has to initiate the touching for it to be okay. You once tried to place your hand on his shoulder, but he shrugged it off instinctively. Later, he held onto your arm absent-mindedly. You learn to give him his space and wait for him to start anything physical. Once he does, you can reciprocate easily. He likes to put his arm behind you while sitting on the couch. You lean into him and he doesn’t flinch or move or anything. He touches you more often than anyone else which makes his crush on you so painfully obvious.

Jihoon has a Libra Venus in his astrology chart. From the moment he realized he liked you, he immediately envisioned your entire future together complete with four versions of a wedding, a life with kids, a life without kids, what your cat’s names would be, and every time he could tell the world that a song was dedicated to you. He thinks about different ways he could ask you on a date like he’s Doctor Strange looking into possible realities. It was easy for him to get a crush on you, and he can’t help but imagine it when he closes his eyes.

Jihoon is oblivious. You obviously like him and everyone can see it except for him. You always smile when he talks or laugh at his stupid jokes. You’re always caught up on his favorite anime (which you enjoy as well) just so that when he finally does watch them, you are ready to talk about it at a moment’s notice. You call him every night to make sure he’s wrapping up at work, and you offer to buy him food if he hasn’t eaten. You are one of the only reasons he takes a day off or goes outside to have fun when he’s not working. You’re always ready with a plan to hang out together. You want to be with him all the time. You stick to him like glue. And he just thinks that you're his really good friend. He can’t imagine that his crush likes him right back.

More Nimona headcanons because these dorks have taken over my brain

I feel like Nimona tried really hard to hate Ambrosius

The first month they knew each other Nimona tried so hard to antagonize him and poke fun at him and remind him of the shit he’s done wrong 

But it’s kind of hard to hate someone who’s slow to anger and quick to forgive 

Reminding someone of their past mistakes with the intent to hurt them kind of stops being fun when the person is constantly aware of their mistakes 

And owns up to them without making excuses and is constantly trying to undo the damage their mistakes caused  

After a while, he grows on her and she starts to trust him and in return he trusts her

This one is based heavily on me and my best friends 

Nimona and Ambrosius will talk shit loudly in public 

They won’t use code names and if they don’t know the person they’ll start describing them like “Did you see that dude in the yellow shirt? He just pushed that kid out of line what a dick!”

They won't check to see if the person is out of earshot either they simply don't give a fuck

And this gives Bal so much fucking anxiety enough that he starts pleading with them to stop

You hear them going off about something and Bal saying “Ambrosius love hun sunshine I’m begging you to keep your voice down” 

“Nim Nimona starlight hi I would like to remind you that they’re still behind us and I don’t want to explain to Ambrosius why you’ve gotten into another fight this week so please stop” 

To which Nimona responds with “Tell him he’ll probably laugh”

Whenever Nimona and Ambrosius want to rant they rant to each other 

Because Bal is the type of person to give advice in the middle of a rant 

Talking some “If you explain this to them in a calm and compassionate manner I’m sure they’ll stop”

And while that's excellent advice sometimes you just want to scream your most unhinged thoughts at someone 

And they never judge each other either 

Nimona can look Ambrosius dead in the eyes and go “Have you ever gotten so angry during an argument that you’ve considered lighting their car on fire?” 

And Ambrosius won't even think about it he’ll respond immediately with a “Who hasn't?” while Bal slowly backs out of the room and silently vows to hide his car the next time they fight 

Whenever Ambrosius comes home from a stressful day at work he just walks into the house and lets out the most dramatic drawn out sigh 

And whenever Nimona hears that noise they’ll run to the living room and sit on the couch patiently waiting for their daily rant session 

Whenever Nimona gets home and wants to rant he’ll walk around until he finds Ambrosius

And if he can't find him he’ll sit by Bal and stew in his anger while he waits for him to come home 

He can't even take one step through the door without Nimona saying something like “How dare you make me wait” 

And Ambrosius will always respond with something like “Oh I’m so sorry firecracker it’ll never happen again”

And encourage them to tell him the information they’ve been patiently waiting to spill

Bal doesn’t rant unless he’s literally at the end of his rope

Like you have to royally screw him over for him to go home and rant to his family 

When he finally rants to them they don’t make a big deal out of it 

But they do however try their best to take care of him without raising his suspicions 

Nimona will conveniently make Bal’s favorite dinner 

Ambrosius will just so happen to pick up his favorite dessert on his way home (cause they both know the signs of a Bal rant and they plan accordingly) 

They listen to his rant and let him eat his favorite food in peace while they play his favorite movies 

You know real wholesome shit 

All the while they’re coming up with plans in their head to destroy this person's life

I would argue that Megumi leaving Gojo out of his loved ones when thinking about his idealist life with Tsumiki and Yuji highlights the continued tragedy that is Satoru Gojo's lack of communication and connection skills. Alsoooo (and this might be an asspull) it feeds into my perception that both Megumi and Gojo wanted the relationship to be deeper but both couldn't ever come to truly understand one another and connect on that level. And I have alot more comments on that but that will wait till another day if I feel like it lol

been crying the last couple days thinking about byan, as an adult, eventually picking up a lot of volunteer work & contributing to youth groups for kids growing up in shitty situations that they relate to all that well. like, they're still kind of a menace about it, encouraging the kids to curse and teaching them how to fight and use knives and shit, but being more responsible than they used to be, supporting them all and being this safe space for them in this way they'd always wished someone would be for them... bringing fun little treats and drawing temporary tattoos for 'em all... ugh. UGH. i'll just always and forever have so many feelings when it comes to byan being the person they wished they'd had growing up for kids with nowhere else to turn, being that protective but really fun and cool older sibling who'll tease the shit out of you but never actually judge you for who you are or how you choose to express yourself. byan coming full circle, making sure (to the best of their ability, anyway) that no one has to suffer through all the same shit they did. byan!! growing and learning and helping out instead of remaining bitter and resentful and choosing not to pitch in just because no one ever helped them!!!!

tbh i think what initially draws sandra to the caregiver role isn't some innate maternal instinct (i actually think that between her self centeredness and her mommy issues she has a lot of complicated feelings on the idea of motherhood, even before she starts seriously considering whether or not that's something she wants) but rather the power dynamics involved with being in charge of looking after someone and having a softer side that she doesn't feel comfortable or able to express anywhere else. she's not talking it all that seriously at first—it's only after a combination of growing closer to chris and his little side, growing more compassionate in general (though ofc keeping her arrogant pizzazz, she's just not as mean about it now lmao), and developing some goddamn spite for celia bean and how she raised her son that she starts embracing the responsibility and caring nature of it.
