earlier in the day, we got a rehearsal snippet, clowns already noticed that the building background looked similar to that of gg’s mv (anonymous/all the same). but personally, there was very little that wyb can do ( i think ) to alter that. cause the backdrop and city setup was more of the theme for hunan tv nye show. but i can understand why the cpn bells were ringing in our heads. plus during the performance, the similarity was really uncanny.

i think we already have more rational “connections” between their songs. and i guess it also doesn’t help that the captions made by their studios have a similar word in it.

[initial reactions] Agatha All Along 1x04 - If I Can’t Reach You / Let My Song Teach You

Tumblr ate my last long rambling post, let’s do this again.

Series Spoilers referenced

There’s so many crunchy things in this episode. And how, in the end, the whole episode is permeated with love.

Lorna Wu’s love for her daughter, repurposing the spell for the Road to protect Alice. She made it so that at any point in time someone is singing her song to protect Alice.

First things that piqued my interest.

I’m currently out so I can’t pull up the captions: Did Agatha say, “I didn’t know you had it in you.” or “I knew you didn’t have it in you.”

Agatha gave Sharon a minute’s mourning and done. Agatha’s been around death so much she’s learned to compartmentalize it.

And then Lorna dying “on the road”, on tour is clever word play and shows how word of mouth stories can be distorted.

I feel like this is part of the theme being weaved. Agatha is a terrible person but most of the hate for her within the community I wager are rumors and some encouraged by her.

Jac Schaeffer has said Agatha lies. Their main thrust as writers is then to find Agatha’s truth.

Agatha wears a mask every time, she presents as someone more social and talkative than she is.

Agatha is, because of what happened to her, a solitary person. And when she’s really angry she fumes and doesn’t talk at all. The only one she almost is truthful with is with Rio, and not even always with her.

So I have a theory Lilia’s random outbursts is actually from Sharon Davis' ghost reaching out from the future to the present. Sharon might be dead but she’s not out. Also the cadence sounds like Sharon more than Lilia.

Jen is also so delightful in that she is also kind of the worst too, not as much as Agatha but right up there. Also I love her instinct for self-preservation.

I think we’re still going to get more about Jen in the coming episodes.

And Alice! Oh Alice, I love that she finally got to face the demon curse that’s haunted her family, and when she can see it, she knew she could kill it. I love the concept that her mother enveloped her in the best protection spell she could think of.

That was so smart.

And there is Rio summoned by the spell, the spell tagging Rio in immediately because she was nearby as a Green witch.

Agatha specifically asked the green witch it takes should not be annoying but the first thing Rio did was annoy the hell out of her. Agatha’s storming off was magnificent and I want her coat.

It’s so fun that even when Agatha revealed Rio’s intentions to the coven, Rio wasn’t annoyed, she was more amused than angry. Rio knows Agatha and her tricks.

Agatha caring for Teen was so great to see, seeing Teen hurt shook Agatha, and then Agatha’s “Don’t” to Rio was so loaded and begging.

Even though I didn’t know the series spoilers, I have actually suspected what Rio was before. But this would have confirmed it for me.

And it’s clear now Agatha’s hoping/suspecting Teen was her son, Nicholas.

It’s also clear to me now that my theory about how the rift formed seems to be true. Rio had to ferry Nicholas away from Agatha because it was her job. And Agatha never forgave Rio for it.

Agatha was clearly willing to forgive Rio because Rio spared Teen but Rio has revealed that Agatha is her scar and that also meant… whatever reconciliation that was going to happen Rio didn’t want it out of a lie.

So despite how much Rio wanted to kiss and hold Agatha for longer she told Agatha the truth. Teen isn’t hers. (Teen isn’t Nicholas.)

Rio can’t bear to reconcile based on a lie.

And that stopped Agatha cold, because there is still that chasm between them, her son. And what Rio had to do.

Talk about star crossed lovers.

I just want to give credit again to Jac Schaeffer and Mary Livanos (showrunner and executive producer) for making this happen. Because Disney wouldn’t have let this happen on their own, but Wandavision must have earned Schaeffer a big cachet in Disney to let this happen.

Especially in the era of Bob Iger part 2– under his watch Willow was taken off Disney+.

Eternals is the one with the clearest, textual queer characters in MCU. Runaways, is unfortunately, not included in the MCU because of Kevin Feige and Ike Perlmutter’s feud.

Common sense dosis! If L is coordinating posts with A because he wants us to know anything or using their socials to clap back at the breakup rumors, why would he not go public with her? Him coordinating with her would mean that he cares about people knowing that she is with him, so why launching her on that shady shitty way?

He can literally do as Jonathan or Corey, that use their socials only for work but had been clear on interviews that they have partners but no, Luke has his team declining to comment on every single insinuation of a girlfriend and does not care about the media still calling her unconfirmed or rumored.

If he is using his hotels posts as an excuse to coordinate with her, why he only posts about certain trips that were endorsed and not about all of them? His Italy trip is the one we for sure know it was not an endorsement, because we know it was on the occasion of R’s birthday and casually that one is absent from his grid even when A posted multiple stories and a dump, but the other ones posted by him all were endorsements (GQ heroes, LA , Marbella).

It is very interesting that instead of beginning to be more public with her, he is hiding her even more. Didn’t you notice that A has had to erase almost everyone of the hints she had of L from her grid? Her paris post, the first LA post, part of the pictures of the second LA post, all gone. The captions on some of them were changed from hearts and love emojis to shells and palm trees.

If she is coordinated with him, why her shady behavior of posting stuff and erasing it? Why did she post the old Cyprus video on her tiktok stories (That she knows that L is not very active on) instead of on ig stories if she has permission from him to do that?

As per the hotel stories that she posts before he posts his endorsed publications. Don’t you know that you can literally block whoever you want from viewing a story? Would you be surprised that the girl that posts, erases, shares an old picture the day he was seen on a wedding without her to make people believe that she was there, shares an old video from a hotel on Cyprus on a social media he was not that active, checks to like the posts he is mentioned on ig even from accounts she doesn’t follow, can be shady enough to post stories and hide them from him? how are you so sure that he knows she is posting that? What would be the logic of him carefully removing her of everything he is posting but then allow her to go and insert herself thru shady stories?

I know that you are disappointed with him relating with that kind of girl but I swear that some of the things you allow your mind to torture you with are ilogical.

Remember that guys are not as clever to clock bitches and shady behavior as us, give him time.

Emerie “Chance” Karr’s armour breakdown for my AU. ( To match Echo ‘Domino’ s design)

“Well, why don’t you take a chance on it?” Her eyes lit up at his words, her smile brightening but her voice almost hesitant.

“That’s it.” The cyborg paused, apprehensive about her tone, furrowing his brow slightly.

“You thought of something?”

“Chance. It’s a term used to describe taking new opportunities with the probability of success being undetermined. Hoping that the decisions you make were enough to produce the results you want but the outcome is still left to fate. It's like a positive version of X, an unknown variable, an unknown with the hope of success…It’s also a gaming term.”

“Chance?” Emerie’s smile faulted a little as he repeated it, echoed it, mulling it around in the space between them. “I like it. You certainly fit that description well, you’ve taken a lot of risky chances to get here, and I’m glad for that.” The fear in her expression softened at his approval, her fidgeting fingers finally falling still in her lap. “And I like that it’s also a term associated with games, like Domino. That’s clever.”

“You think so?”

“Does it feel right?”

“Yeah.” She said almost instinctively before taking a deep breath, sitting with it for a second. “Yeah, it does.”

“Good. It suits you.”

Emerie was not a character I ever planned on writing about but she has become one of the main characters in my AU. The above snippet is from the draft of my (very long, very much unfinished) AU that my Echo ‘Domino’ design is from. The whole paragraph does a great job of explaining the context of that segment but I cut off the other 500 words because I’m not posting that long of a caption. Echo and Emerie end up being the main duo of the AU (since the rest of the Batch have retired) and I’m loving writing her character and their dynamic as a squad. Of course, if you read my caption on my ‘Domino’ armour breakdown, you’d understand that Echo is forcibly removed from that dynamic so :(

Anyway, I’d read the annotated sketch because it gives a lot of context to her design. The only thing I think I forgot to mention in those annotations that was in the original sketch notes was that her thigh guards are designed to mimic the top of Echo’s prosthetics. Just for a nice touch. Why is her under suit purple? The answer should be “because it matches Domino’s which is purple as a combo of tbb and 501st colours” and not “it matches Domino’s which is purple because that was the colour that looked best when I made his design” but guess which ones is correct. This design will come up LOTS in my art as I am drawing a lot of these two atm. As always, love to hear what you think.
