Oh my god your ask box is open.
Ummm didja see how Viv liked fanart of Vox telling Val he's beautiful after his wings get clipped?
That author who wrote that fic of Angel being told he's beautiful paralleling with the goddamn creator liking and encouraging Val content to sympathize with him....
No hate to that artist but when you're the creator you need to have more fucking responsibility. She isn't condemning Val. She's woobifying and downplaying his actions to the point where she likes her *rapist character* being sympathetic and "beautiful" but has the gall to say Angel is a "loser".
And while I'm at it, she also like a comment about "people simp for horror characters like Patrick Bateman and Leatherface--"
Shut. Up.
Shut the fuck up.
The directors and actors condemn the actions of those killers. Christian Bale said he hates Patrick Bateman and thinks there's nothing good about him. That "sigmas" are missing the point and need to get a life.
LeatherFace is mentally challenged and doesn't understand what he's doing. He's surrounded by a psychopathic family who loves him and obviously doesn't teach him right from wrong.
Scott Cawthon punishes the fuck out of William Afton. Spring-locked painfully, tormented by the souls of the kids he's killed, crushed, burned.... his own son said that he'd burn in Hell.
I could go on and on. Also Jason Voorhees kills 2 rapists. Freddy Kruegar is burned for his crimes.
These people are so fucking stupid it hurts.
Viv coddles, woobifies, sympathizes, and downplays Valentino. The abusive rapist. Compared him to a *high school girl* for fucks sakes.
What Val does to Angel is also not over the top or goofy. It's *very real*. The abuse is very realistic and isn't unbelievable.
Alastor isn't a rapist. So stop bringing that up.
You can't control what people do with your content. But you can control what you encourage and how you view serious topics.
So much for her 3 day Threads meltdown where she screamed about caring about SA victims.
She's a rape fetishist just like Raph. Why else would she keep him around? I don't care that they have these fetishes, but stop pretending it's good SA rep.
Also Mimzy is meant to be Jewish. Rosie is a blood libel. Why are Jews in Hell? Fuck off with that "chicken" bullshit.
Fucking vile, Medrano.
And to be clear, I don't care if a portion of the fandom wants to expand on Valentino with headcanons, sit on him like a baby bird, and adopt him as their silly little rabbit. That's villains and fandom, that just is what it is.
The problem is when Viv does it, when she coddles Valentino and insists everyone else do likewise or else. Viv isn't a member of the fandom, she's the creator, and one who's made it her business to shout down and belittle every single fan who's uncomfortable with Valentino. That's a different, shameful thing, and it's absolutely disgusting.

Character Comparison:
🐍 Salazar Slytherin vs. Sebastian Sallow 🐍
So we all know that Sebastian is a good person, but he did some thing that altered the course of his life forever.
What if Salazar Slytherin was also a good person and he did something to alter the course of his life forever as well? But he went so dark that people only remembered how dark he went, and seemed to forgot that he once was a good person. AKA the bad reputation that all Slytherins get when they get sorted. Maybe it had to do with someone he loved, like a family member or lover. Watching them get killed, cursed, or just dying a horrible death. And what if Salazar wanted to get revenge so badly that he resorted to extreme measures.
But what if growing up Salazar Slytherin was a good kid that excelled in potions and DADA. Hence the rep that Slytherins also get for having an aptitude for potions.
Sebastian Sallow a good kid that just got so blinded by his love, and an ambition to help his sister that he did something horrible and irreversible that cost him his life (essentially). A good student who excelled in potions and DADA. A dueling champion, who was happy to help younger students learn to duel. If you send him to Azkaban, it’s over for him, you’ve condemned him to death. BUT if you choose not to, he falls into such a deep, dark depression, that he never really recovers from it. Remember that Sebastian gets a really bad reputation after the catacombs. Because just like it’s canon in the books, it’s canon in everything else that rumors spread so fast around Hogwarts that before Solomons body was cold, everyone knew what actually happened. From that moment forward he was labeled a cold-blooded killer. But we all know that he wasn’t.
Really it’s interesting to think about. I could go on and on, but I think I got my point across. Let me know what you think in the comments, because I’d be eager to talk and compare ideas with you all!

Time: One week later. The day before the battle to subjugate the "vampires," now named "Flashback (tentative title)," as well as the day UNDEAD first met.

Rei: Ghosts 're great, ain't they? ♪ Ghosts 're great, ain't they? ♪ Forget about workin' or studyin', let's just hold a concert at this here graveyard~ We'll start at noon~ ♪
Adonis: What's wrong, Sakuma-senpai? Are you drunk?

Adonis: I am not sure what's going on, but you seem to be in an unusually good mood… There's been a gloomy atmosphere around you lately, so this is a bit of a relief.

TC!Jungkook, I hate seeing you around all these people. You should only be spending time with me. So... I killed your maids, your consorts, your men and a few of your citizens too, while I was at it. But don't worry, you still have some citizens left in the villages at the edge of the kingdom. I just killed everyone nearby. It was a messy job, but at least I'll have you all to myself now. I hope you don't mind. Oh, you do? I thought you'd be proud of me for being able to wipe out so many people and you didn't even have time to notice. But you don't need so many knights around all the time. You're good at fighting on your own if a war breaks out. And my strong husband is skilled enough to tackle an entire army on his own, isn't that right love? (kisses his cheek as if she's done nothing wrong) Plus, with the smaller population around now, you don't need so many guards because there will be less threats. There'll be less paperwork with less people, so you can spend even more time with me. You don't have to stress about the chambers being cleaned. I spared all the Eunuchs. They're still here to do your bidding if you need. I didn't feel too insecure about them so I let them be. B-but Jungkook, I don't understand... What did I do wrong? I know that you felt burdened by your kingly duties and you would never give up the throne, so I made your life easier. Now you don't have to choose between me and your kingdom because you barely have a kingdom anymore. yea im rly sry abt all this im not like a huge fan of ur group n usully agree w puellas takes bt this is mental. abused kids r not serial killers not animal abusers they r fucking HURT KIDS. puella coulda jst said they int w rarted but they saw a traumatized persons messy issues n added it 4 combo points on the callout tbh. i want puella 2 know their muts also see jst wtf they r saying rn like
i hope you know that puella is usually very deceptive in the way they word things or even just, purposefully cropping posts and including some tags but not all (that give context) or will post a singular screenshot of a post that is out of context if you just scrolled you could see originally it wasn't anything bad just an unfortunately worded vent that clearly condemns whatever puella condemns too.
puella didn't listen about children killing animals, despite it being actually proven fucking wrong (google it if you fucking have to) but i knew that'll happen, puella only ever doubles down on what they state. it was extremely fucking upsetting though to see them double down on calling abused children future serial killers but.. alas i knew they wouldn't change stance from past interactions.
i don't think i'm personally some saint but i also don't see the benefit in calling these types of people out, which is where puella and i clash. also puella has lied about me being a year older and my boyfriend being a year younger, which i don't believe was a mistake, i have no proof it was intentional to slander me, but all my accounts either said 20 (i was 20 at the time) or just 'adult', so i have no idea why they lied. especially concerning that i was called weird (alluded to me being a pedophile) but no one actually cared for the person they were calling my victim? it makes me feel really sick they twisted my relationship into something sinister and at the same time was mad at my boyfriend still after labelling him my victim.
i'm not saying puella is intentonally doing this but it's an alarming pattern and i make habit of blocking them and all they're mutuals to avoid them. puella has been doing this shit for years i don't see them changing. before they post another callout i'd love to see them address them lying, their antisemitism towards me and ableism in regards to introjects and child abuse victims. them going through abuse doesn't negate them being ableist. it's unfair puella believes they don't need to ever rethink what they believe because they went through trauma too but then hold others to the standard of not being allowed to want to retraumatise themselves after being abused and somehow thats callout worthy rather than alarming behaviour that this person need support rather than vilification that further pushes them towards unhealthy coping mechanisms.
i don't think wanting to retraumatise yourself is good, but it's not a fucking moral failure. no one is going to be hurt from that other than the person themselves.
sorry for ranty style response i have honestly too much to say about this.

As a 90s kid, sociologist, and lifelong horror fan I would absolutely love to have this discussion.
My short oversimplified assumption would be that everyone regardless of if they are left leaning or right leaning who does not like horror likes to censor it so that nobody can partake in horror at all. I met so many people who claim to be left leaning but talk about how Coraline terrified them as a kid so they will never let their children watch Coraline. Despite the fact that we know it's important for kids to experience all emotions including fear in a safe contained environment. It helps get the brain juices going so they learn what can be done in certain types of situations. Plus, just because someone prefers horror over any other genre out there does not mean they're going to be an antisocial serial killer. It definitely does not help at all that every time you go online to find information on children's horror, you find Mommy bloggers or weird articles on other websites talking about how the only type of horror that is appropriate for children are things like Monsters Inc or waiting until a child is the age of 13 to slowly introduce them to movies I was watching by the age of four. Even when it comes to horror media that is intended for children, a lot of adults say that it may be too intense for anyone under the age of 15. 🙄
I can think of a lot of juvenile and ya horror books for kids but when it comes to TV shows and movies I can only think of a handful that have come out within the past 8 years. Which is a real shame because not only do children need a variety of entertainment to consume but the few recommendations I can't think of have very small fan bases because the networks chose to bury them where no one can find them.
If anyone is interested in my children's horror recommendations here is a brief list:
Victor and Valentino: cartoon show that only ran a few seasons on cartoon network. Set in mexico, it is about two half siblings who go to stay with their grandmother in Mexico for the summer and weird Supernatural things ensue. The boys are of Mexica heritage so apart from each episode being creepy, it also ties in Aztec deities (yes we do get to meet several Aztec gods in the show 😺) and lore specific to Latin america. They have some really good creepy episodes.
Nightbooks by J.A. White I recommend both the book and the movie adaptation on this one. Yes the movie does very slightly from the book but that's okay. Both are good. The protagonist is a young boy who absolutely loves horror and wants to be a horror writer. Main hobby though has alienated him from the kids in his class to the point where he doesn't have any friends. One day he falls into a magical world and is trapped by an evil witch who demands he tell her a scary story every night or she will kill him. I absolutely love the actress who plays the witch in the movie, she is over the top campy and hilarious. It's a cheesy children's horror movie, it's not meant to be deep.
Frankelda's Book of Spooks is a Charming. Stopmotion show from Mexico. The host is a ghost named Frankelda. In each episode, Frankelda reads a story from her book to the audience. there is some bigger mystery going on in the background but the show only vaguely eludes to it. Supposedly there is a movie in the works that will explain more. Unfortunately the show was a little simplistic, each episode has some sort of lesson to teach the audience, it does so in a not so subtle almost patronizing way but the animation is genuinely beautiful, love the character designs, and it is a silly horror show at the end of the day. Nothing good happens to any of the children in her stories so it is different compared to most children's horror media.
Wednesday could definitely be considered horror. I know everyone is quick to condemn it because they see Tim Burton credited but don't worry he was just a producer. He did not write, direct, or cast anyone. The show follows Wednesday as she is being forced to go to the private Academy her parents met at when they were her age after she is expelled from her last school. Things get interesting for her as she finds out there is a serial killer on the loose, a monster stalks the woods, and someone tries to kill her in the first episode. The show is not bad and Wednesday actually does get some good character development. The problem is outside of her and one other character, the rest of the characters feel underdeveloped, the pacing does feel a tad off, there are a lot of red herrings that are pretty easy to figure out but then again it is important to keep in mind it is based off the juvenile book series so some of my criticisms might be more from an adult's perspective. Minor spoiler that I never see anyone talk about, her roommate is a werewolf.
Wendell & Wild is another fun stop motion animated horror movie that needs to be on everyone's shelf right next to coraline, paranorman, and The Nightmare Before christmas. In fact it even has the same director as Coraline and The Nightmare Before Christmas, Henry Selick. Wendell and Wild is about a teenage girl named Kat who has experienced much tragedy at a young age. Without giving too much away, it turns out that instead of fairy godmothers she sort of has demon godfathers ( my term not what they are called in the movie) and they will grant her a wish if she agrees to do their bidding. The movie deals with a lot of really good issues like the school to prison pipeline, the American prison complex, how trauma can harm not only people but places, and restorative justice. Love the character designs, the animation, and the story on this one.
The Ghost and Molly McGee. This Disney show only has two seasons but it touched on some dark issues and even got emotional in the very end. Molly is a overly optimistic girl with adhd whose goal is to make the world a better place. Her family moves into a house that happens to be haunted by an extremely grumpy pessimistic ghost. Needless to say they have an Odd Couple thing going on. The show is pretty funny and deals with some interesting issues in the Ghost World. The only problem I have with it is that it's intended for a much younger audience. That's not a bad thing but it does mean that teens and adults will be more bored with it compared to a five year old.
Creeped Out is a TV series for fans of Are You Afraid of the Dark. It's a anthology series. Each episode takes place somewhere different with a different cast and different plot. It's not overly scary but similar to Goosebumps things do not end in a happy everything gets wrapped up nicely package.
The small spaces quartet by Katherine Arden. I haven't read the final book in this series but the first three books are pretty fun to be honest. We follow three Middle School age kids as an evil Supernatural entity seems to stalk them and put them in perilous Adventures. The author definitely knows how to build suspense and it's fun to see the kids work together to solve problems. The villain in this series is honestly pretty creepy and mysterious enough to keep the reader intrigued.
Artie and the Wolf Moon by Olivia Stephens is a graphic novel about a girl who finds out that she comes from a long line of werewolves. As she gets to learn about her family history and the history of werewolves, she finds out there are other things in the world to be scared of.
That's all I can think of for now. I know there's a lot of kids horror books out there but when it comes to movies and TV shows I can't think of too many that have come out within the past decade. It's a real shame to see that so many people are trying to prevent kids from having access to horror. I know one of the problems is that thanks to the streaming wars it's harder for people to know about specific shows and movies and other people have a hard time getting access to them in the first place. It does not help though that many parents and conservative groups try to remove access in the first place whether it be through banned books or convincing other people that the genre as a whole is bad for kids. I definitely agree with you, I remember having easy access to a lot of horror media that was kid friendly back in the day. If it's any consolation to you, RL Stein has never stopped writing. That men releases at least three books a year for the past 40 years.
idk how to say this without sounding really boomer-ey, but like, what happened to horror content for kids? maybe i’m using the word “horror” a little liberally but i remember when i was a kid there was SO much out there that existed solely for the purpose of scaring kids in a safe, fun, age-appropriate way. just off the top of my head there’s goosebumps, scary stories to tell in the dark, tales from the crypt (little before my time though), coraline, mirror mask, monster house, dark crystal (more incidentally scary but w/e), even courage the cowardly dog; all these really fantastic books and shows and movies that let kids explore being scared on their own terms.
now there’s idk, those new addams family movies? but those aren’t really scary.
i see people talking about the “kid-ification” of horror games and i can’t help but wonder if part of the reason kids latch onto that stuff so much now is because there’s nowhere else for them to experience healthy, safe fear. a little kid wants to get the thrill of being scared, but their parents won’t let them watch any actual horror movies, so they go on youtube and what do you know, there’s markiplier playing another cheap horror game set in a toy store or whatever, and now that kid’s fear quota is being met. (obviously there’s more to it than that, but it’s a theory i have)
this like, doesn’t really matter probably but idk, i feel bad that ~kids these days~ aren’t getting the experience of something scary made specifically for them with their genuine enjoyment in mind, rather than whatever the next fnaf ripoff is that just wants to sell them merch. being a kid and watching a well-made scary movie feels like you’re finally being taken seriously; you’re not being babied or coddled, you’re being trusted to face the skeksis and the other mother and the nebbercracker house and not back down. i wish people were still making media that respected kids that much.

Modern solution towards a problem
As the project presents, the shared views, the cultural conflicts in exaggeration, the mind blowing liberal movements, and the walk-away from solutions, we have lost it all.
We have lost the ability to solve, the ability to perfrom, and in the essence, the ability to be fragile. We are armed contemporarily, drinking tap water…
Didn’t the greatest owner of the world used to don’t have a mind? Tossing the ball around, you said it was about certain subject of a specific matter. I see white and black and a consistent stream of electricity. How rare it is to see the flow? Didn’t the greatest fucker of the world used to don’t have a dick? A woman said no, and another woman said no, the no from the third woman goes on… I see a man protests, and another man protests, and the greeting of the third guy goes on.
Where shall we find the simplest solution of it all. Then goes on the smallest decision of our time. The tail sign of forbiden, the tail of the signs, we overheard the smallest crack of opening. Too late to call it a dawn.
Where shall we find the defining point of the dawn, of whether it is too early or too late. Time, in terms of modern solution, cannot be used in place. Time is the killer. As each woman goes on and on about the rarity and the clarity of a man; men were trying to bring down appearences, that they are not what they appeared to be. Women were trying to bring down appearences. Didn’t the greatest television owner used to believe in the level of a paper? The modern solution of the appearences of words is not motion pictures but a rather elevating imagination.
Modern solution is only a provider for those who laied their eyes on the refrigerator. We keep cool and composure in a small volume of a container.
I see a woman rubbing lotion on her body. This must be my dream. I am, in this context, rubbed contemporarily in the abuse of terms. I have no idea where the words will take me. In fact, I have no idea of how they are defined in time, in place, in a yellow box of garbages. And that is my point. Not knowing certain things but meanwhile use it aggressively. Not knowing the impact is an outcome.
Aggressiveness. Abusive behaviour. Calling out. Problem in the silhouettes of a king. Imagine the king in a chamber kneeling down to the ground, the royal carpets are the time. Those who kneels on time have no where to run, so is the king. His kingdom rises as his woman kneels down, rubbing lotions… Who’s coming home to abuse? You dance as if it is bad for your health. You wealth is bad for how he deals with problems. Problem is the silhouettes of a ring. I am doing ten things at a time.
I am doing ten things at a time. Messy and difficult. Electronic and folklore. All I need is deletion. Delete motion pictures out from the world. Now you change your kneeling position to sitting down. It is already high enough. Your knee must be a kid of yours.
You are in a sexy position right now. I now have received the sign of making love. Proceeds. You are taking me agressively. I am sure that it was a motion picture from the start. Where shall we find the simplest solution of our time. I can’t…I can’t. The belly strikes me as a tide. Such a change of a plan! I am using you. You breasts are two factories. Building implements and condemnation towards a self. It is the smallest description of our time. The smallest context that I could ever be in. The smallest intercourse that I have ever had. You are small as ever. I am the replacement of your refrigerator. You are the smallest prision that I’ve ever been in. The compound.
You were holding my adam’s apple, thrubbing it. Television now makes a cool noise. I have been torned into….what it all could’ve been.
I am thrubbing your crack. You go down. As soft as it could be. You go down. The third party resides in. I must be the king. I must be the king. I am a king with no composure. You are the queen of Ireland.
You should give me the blowjob… Your nose sets up a revolution.
I shall make no sound. Didn’t the most well living sex offender had a deal with the deal breaker? Proceeds, you are taking me softly.
I believe the modern solution of a problem is deletion. And you are everywhere, how can I delete you?
And I do believe, the modern solution to all complicated problem is deletion.
Time is a shell. What if a photo says that it wants to trap you in a square? Fifty miles you kill a man, thirty seasons for you to abuse a woman. Your tea drinking process is not a true phenomena. I see the heart in you. A heart that governs itself. A heart of a king and the lung of a queen. Peasants were floating above your palace. Peasants were hiding behind your vowels.
Now, you have a troop for you to chase the modern solution back.

“How could it be worse?” Yuji whines to him.
“I mean, you could be monster chow.” Nobara says, trying to cheer him up.
“Is that suppose to make me feel better?” Yuji asked her, deadpan.

Dean is back and better than ever. Now he needs to find the Colt and deal with Sam's burgeoning new powers, all while hiding the true reason he came back.
sending postcards from a plane crash
“Dean. What the hell are you doing here?” Sam asked him. “How did you find me?”
Sam had filled out from the gawky snot nosed brat he had been when Dean had last seen him. It wasn’t that he hadn’t expected Sam to grow in the ten years he had been gone, but it was still a shock to see how…grown up…Sam had gotten. Dean could only hope it was the same for his maturity and emotional responses.
Otherwise this would be even more awkward.
“We need to talk.” Dean said.

⭐️ stories to highlight (not already listed)
of all the gin joints in the world (written for the pb exchange “hot entity summer”)
"But on a beach somewhere, you know? Can you imagine? You, me, Cas, toes in the sand, couple of them little umbrella drinks. Matching Hawaiian shirts, obviously." -Dean Winchester, 13x23 "Let the Good Times Roll". In which Dean finally gets his beach vacation, Sam has a freak out, and Cas is just here for the ride.
The (After) Life of the Party (written for deancas horrorfest)
After a fight with Sam one night, Dean wakes up in a world he is unfamiliar with. This world only has one rule: kill or be killed. As a designated Killer, he must kill all the Survivors before they have a chance to complete their task. If he doesn’t, he ruins the risk of becoming a Survivor himself. With the help of Charlie and Benny, other Killers, he slowly finds his footing in the new world he was thrust into. If only there wasn’t a strange blue eyed man to distract him…
The Patron Saint of Liars and Fakes (written for dcbb)
Dean Winchester has known he was in love with his best friend for a long time. He never planned on saying anything, at least, not until friends and family convinced him otherwise. Only the confession doesn't go as planned: Cas rejects him. Distraught and hurt, he heads to a bar to drink his sorrows away, and upon meeting a woman named Ruby, enters a whole new world. Now battling his broken heart and new substance dependance, he needs to decide what is more important: his (still ever-present and strong) feelings for Cas, or his new found "freedom" with Ruby.
we're the lifers here to til the bitter end (condemned from the start)
It had been days, weeks, months, years. He had been everywhere and nowhere and now he was here. It was…bright. After spending so long in a place filled with dark reds and low lighting, the only thing he remembered was pain. it was strange to see the world filled with bright colors and sunshine. It was pure. And it made his skin crawl. It was time to leave. Sooner or later someone would find them, and he didn’t want to be here when they did. “Alright then.” He smiled as he cleaned his blade off one of the clothes of one of the bodies on the floor. “Looks like I’m going to California. Can’t wait.” or Dean Winchester came back as a demon, and there is hell to pay.
the best of us can find happiness in misery
After he demonstrated them, Azula stalked over and clicked some type of cuffs on him. “Alright then, you’re our prisoner.” Confusion crossed Aang's face. “What? Why?” “Because you’re the avatar? And we were ordered to capture you?” She turned to Zuko. “Were we not clear about that?” Zuko shrugged. “I thought it was pretty clear, especially since we were going to burn down the village to find him.” Aang eyes widened. “You were actually serious?!” Together they said, “Of course were were.” Azula rolled her eyes. “I never make an empty threat.” "Exactly." Zuko nodded his head in agreement. "Father always says that if you are not willing to follow through on your threat then you shouldn’t make one in the first place.”
Some princes don't become kings (even at the best times I'm out of my mind)
Billy finds his dad much earlier. While his dad may not be the best person, surely he only wants to connect with Billy to be family again, right? Not anything else, regardless of what Freddie says. Along with juggling super powers and a nosy family, what is Billy to do?
Blessed be the boys time can't capture
There is a lot things Five doesn't talk about from the years he was alone. This is one of them.

SOMEONE WILL DIE OF FUN HELPPPPP lkasjdflkj sdkljfalsjkdf but actually!!!!! also, amira being condemned to plan a party w cassandra would probs be her hell loop ;DDDD jk jk it'd def be watching her gm die but ANYYYWAYYYYY laksjdfkljsdajfjskdf it's a close second ;DDD
no but i do think that the face amira presents to cassandra is def mixed! but honestly its probs largely positive, amazingly enough!! hahaha she probs comes off v moody (which is frankly fair bc she kinda ~is ngl laksjdfkljsdf tho never say that to amira!!! hahaha) bc mostly amira's feeling is that cassandra, when she's the last of roderick's kids besides edmund, will ultimately be v useful to edmund, and so amira wants to be able to more easily maneuver her, BUT she also has v lil patience for her i feel like -- sometimes she's on best behavior and sometimes [ she's pulling a marcia ] tho NEVER in defense of roderick hahaha she does noT care abt him hahahaha but she does see cassandra as silly and spoiled and ignorant and entitlted, and amira's the only one who can see the "real" world in her own mind lakjsdflkdsjkf
ngl she deffff has a bigggg chip on her shoulder abt privilege and cassandra infuriates that part of her, and she certainly makes that felt from time to time like...ultimately her issues w cassandra have nothing to do w cassandra, herself!! but, rather, w everything she represents to her, and i ~do think amira has a picture in her head of who she ~thinks cassandra is that doesn't really have anything to do w cassandra, herself, but it enrages her and yeahhh fun fun fun!!!!!
so yeah!! mixed bag!!!1 generally, i do think amira holds herself in check and is nice to cassandra in the same way she's nice to ciara, bc she has a lot of discipline and cassandra's future practical uses to her son outweigh amira's own personal feelings towards her, but i also know that @forgottenmarian does NOT trust amira, so idk how much she might've taught cassandra re: amira?
but yeah!! honestly i do see her manipulating cassandra a lot and probs using her a lot like a spy in marian's own household tbqh asldkjfjkdsfj ngl she might've even used her to unwittingly poison her brothers once or twice lasjdfkjsdf and she def likes to ask her abt her day, etc, and try to filter through everything amira views as inanity to basically surveil marian and the boy slakjfsdkljfjsdf
CASSANDRA BELIEVES THAT AMIRA AND MARIAN LOVE EACH OTHER DEEP DOWN!!!!!1 SCREAMMMMM!!!!!!!! i love cassandra sm omg <3333333 meanwhile they're ~actually fighting bc amira literally poisoned marian's boys and marian knows but she just can't prove it!!! lakjsdfkljsdkjfkjsdf
COOL VODKA AUNT LKASDJFKLJSDKFJJSDF she's just got such KILLER energy ;DDDD no but honestly that really does make sense from her perspective!!! esp bc she often ~is kind to cassandra and her siblings (bc they can each be useful to amira! SCREAM!) when she's not busy being snarky so alkjsfkljsdf who knows!! and also you are 100% right about what amira would let cassandra get away with and her reasons for it!!!! hahaha 'go play, sweetie, stepmommy is busy making poisons for ur brothers' asdlkfjkkdlsdjfj ;DDDD
THINKS OF HER AS THE FUN MOM IM SCREAMINGGGG lakjsdfkljsdkjf;LFKJSDKLJF amira 'don't worry baby you'll be useful someday when ur only living sibling marries you off to some horrid old man in order to better secure his position as emperor' omggg but honestly i think im right to say that hanging out w amira probs ~is a pr good way to get back at marian if she's mad at her alkjsdfkljdsfj i really dont see marian loving that hahahaha
OOC | Amira & Cassandra
ok so cassandra is the stepchild amira is most likely to forget abt bc she is least likely to inherit, and ngl that is probs in cassandra's favor bc it also makes her the stepchild least likely to be poisoned asp alksjdflkjsdfjdf amira: 'ig edmund can keep this sibling...as a treat' alksdjfkldsfdsf no but it does ~also make her the one amira is most likely to ignore like catch amira going 'her??' a la michael bluth and abandoning her in a foreign country after edmund explicitly asked her to get to know cassandra, bc amira literally forgot she existed aklsjdfkjlsdf ;D
no but i feel like these two have literally opposite energies and frankly them tryna interact is probs objectively hilarious but anyway aklsjdfkljsdf i don't think amira cares much for cassandra bc she sees her rose-colored glasses as extremely vapid and irritating bc the only thing you'll hear amira say abt love is 'love is a lie men tell to steal your virtue' and 'love is weakness. cut love from your heart and perhaps you'll live long enough to have it broken' ljksdlfjksdjkf amira also legit despises marian and ngl that is DEFFFFF coloring her impressions of poor cassandra bc she's like 'marian WOULD raise such a child. she'll die when winter comes, and then perhaps marian will finally learn that roderick doesn't and never will care'

Written for @hp-fearfest Day 5: Final Girl | Rating: E | Warnings: Funeral, Death, Burial and Cremation, Violence (Stabbing), Blood & Gore, Murder, Mention of child abuse, Smoking | Read on Ao3
Summary: All the Dursleys are dead; Harry likes gardening.
Vernon Dursley’s funeral is the most boring event Harry has ever attended. And that says a lot, considering he has attended more parties than he can count — he had a lot of expectations with this one, but alas, he is terribly disappointed.
There aren’t many attendees. Dudley and Petunia are also both dead, so that’s two people less than… the four currently attending. “Murder mystery. They still haven’t found the killer until now. It’s such a pity — it’s been like, what? Two months?.” One of their neighbours said, scoffing as though the situation is funny — although Harry won’t disagree if the man thinks it is.
“Such a pity,” Harry echoes, smiling tightly at the man.
Harry stands under a willow tree for the rest of the funeral ceremony, the harsh autumn wind biting into his skin. Between his lips is a cigarette — a bad habit he has yet to break. He started smoking after the war when he came across a muggle shop selling packs in Diagon Alley. Harry has promised Draco he’d quit, but Harry is no saint. So instead, he just never smokes around Draco. It’s the least he can do.
The funeral ends right when it starts drizzling. Sunny, one of Dudley’s childhood friends, smiles pitifully at Harry as she passes by. “I’m sorry for your loss,” she says, as though there was even someone to lose in the first place.
Harry thanks her, just to be polite, before flicking his cigarette on the ground and crushing it under his boot. He takes one last look at Vernon’s grave before disappearing into the darkness of the night.
*
The roses in the Dursley’s garden are always a shade brighter after the rain. Harry plucks off half a dozen of them, humming the tune of the song at Vernon’s funeral. Perhaps that was the only thing he enjoyed about it — you know, other than the fact that Vernon is now rotting in whatever level of hell he’s condemned himself to.
Harry moves on to the next portion of the garden, right where the fully bloomed daffodils are. He remembers Petunia’s face so clearly, painted with her own blood as Harry killed her right where he planted them two months ago.
“Why did you return here?” Petunia asks, right before Harry twists the knife pierced into her chest.
“Do I really need to explain my reasoning, Petunia? Do you want to act as the final girl now? You think you’re that clever?” Harry raises a single eyebrow, peering down at Petunia as he laughs sardonically. “Fine,” he sighs. “I actually like this garden a lot, mostly because I get to kill you here, but also because this was where I spent most of my time as a kid. Do you remember when you would make me sleep out here when I didn’t finish my chores on time?”
He remembers finishing his story right before Petunia died from her stab wounds. Harry made sure to stab her seven times for good luck, and then proceeded to sprinkle some daffodil and rose seeds right above the soil where he buried her. He did the same to Dudley two weeks later, except his body — ashes are now displayed on Harry’s nightstand inside of an hourglass. Draco quite likes it — says it has a lot of character. Harry agrees.
A smile creeps upon Harry’s face at the memories. Those were truly nights to remember.
“Hope you’re enjoying the garden, Petunia, isn’t it lovely?” he murmurs as he wraps up his bundle of flowers to create a makeshift bouquet.
With a last look at the Dursley’s old home, Harry touches the Portkey inside of his back pocket, disappearing with the whirl of the autumn wind.
*
“Draco, I’m home!” Harry calls as he shrugs off his jacket and hangs it at the coat rack by the doorway.
Draco appears from the kitchen, nose dusted with flour and his platinum hair a disheveled mess. “What took you so long?”
“I’ve missed you too,” Harry playfully rolls his eyes before wrapping an arm around Draco’s waist. “What are you making?”
“Fudge walnut brownies,” Draco answers with a smile as he notices the bouquet in Harry’s hand. “Are those for me?”
“Of course they are,” Harry kisses Draco before handing him the bouquet of blood-red roses and daffodils. “Happy anniversary, sweetheart.”

hiiiii just a few things lol,
First, your Grabber fics literally have me in a chokehold (sort of pun intended lmao) like they are just absolutely incredible pieces of writing. I've made a bunch of comments on AO3 and I sent an ask here on anon before but I wanna come back and say it again bc I literally love them so much. Just everything about them is absolutely incredible to read.
And second, I absolutely love how you just don't give a shit about what those damn haters say. It makes me so happy when ppl like you are just like, y'know what, you can leave to those types of people. It just makes zero sense to me why there are ppl like that in the first place. Just bc I like reading or writing for a serial killer does not mean I condone any of that character's actions!!!!! Idk how else we can say it to get ppl to understand lmao.
Anyway, before this gets too long, I really just wanted to say your writing is amazing and I think you're a pretty cool person. Have a wonderful day♥️♥️
Oh my goodness, thank you so much!! I really appreciate the feedback (and the pun haha), as I know my writing topics are not palatable to most people’s tastes, and can make strictly vanilla people clutch at their pearls and condemn me.
Really, it doesn’t bother me as much when they harass me, since I’m just like, “Well, I’m not raping kids and have no sexual interest in them, and I’m certainly not writing about them, so exactly why should I feel bad for liking an adult fictional character who has not killed a single person because he doesn’t exist?”
By that logic, you should rank all villains equally, and condemn anyone who likes any evil character, because that apparently means you support their choices and actions.
What pisses me off more is when I see people giving death threats and berating other people, as if it’s somehow morally better to wish ill will on someone you know nothing about VS writing crappy fiction that no person with a quarter of a brain will take seriously.
My favorite is also when they then try and say “I’m not being mean/harassing anyone!” after literally being like “you’re a fucking sicko.” Mm-hmm. Don’t try back out now, hon, we all already saw you being a prick. At least own up to it instead of trying to defend yourself.
So yeah, I don’t have time for this morality game. Go do something more productive with your time and stop bothering people writing adult x adult fics.
#asks#thank you so very much!#💚💚💚#the black phone#the grabber#black phone#grabber#the grabber x reader#into the black#the black phone 2022#black acres

do you guys ever think about how colonnello and reborn have held onto each other through thick and thin and hell and high water and a fucking curse that costed them everything and the certainty they'd die a slow painful inevitable death and having presumably lost sight of each other for years and finding each other again with one being mafia and the greatest hitman in the world while the other was military and reborn likely having been mafia and a killer even during their childhood before they went their separate way while colonnello was presumably a relatively decent moral citizen and civilian abiding by the law and how they've still been calling each other childhood friends through it all and remained best friends through it all? how so sweet and pure and telling and meaningful it is that the first thing they still do when meeting each other is headbutting each other which is probably their own special greeting they've come up with when they were kids?
and do you ever think about how despite having gone through all that they still so easily and instantly slip back into being each other's best friend whenever they meet without even ever having to think about it and how despite having gone through all that it only made their friendship stronger and made them closer to each other and didn't affect their friendship in any way otherwise, let alone negatively, and least of all in a way that would have ended it? how they've very likely put in the work so it wouldn't happen and how they were never going to let that happen because that's how important they are to each other? how they canonically, explicitly love and care about and trust and respect and rely on each other so much and how it comes through so loud and clear through literally every single one of their interaction and how they always let it come through so freely and openly and unapologetically and without having to ever think about it?
and do you ever think about how they've held onto each other ever since they've met and how ever since then they constantly, over and over again, even through a literal godly curse, even through reborn objectively being one of the worst condemnable human beings on earth--how literally through it all they've kept saying to each other over and over again "i will always fight tooth and nails for you and to keep you by my side and will never allow anyone or anything to take you away from me no matter the cost or the lengths i'll have to go to keep that promise"? and how they have yet to fail in proving that to each other over and over again?
and do you ever think about how through literally everything they do and say when it comes to the other they're constantly saying to each other over and over again "i love you i love you i love you"?
and if you do then please someone explain to me why these two are so underrated, like, WHAT is there not to like here in this dynamic?? and yes i am and will be unwell about them again for a bit what about it
#katekyo hitman reborn#khr#khr text post#khr reborn#khr colonnello#56r#i was NOT gratuitously dissing reborn with that one line btw lol#but reborn being reborn and how that reflects on both of them and their friendship#is legitimately one of the things i love the most about their dynamic#anyway it's all about unconditional and self-sacrifical devotion and loyalty and love#what more do you people want they literally already have everything going on for them 😭

This isn't a "mother hating" post, it's an antinatalist and anti-suffering one. My antinatalist and anti-suffering beliefs do not conflict with my feminist beliefs. I hate men as a group and love women as a group, and condemning specific choices made by specific women as immoral does not mean that I don't blame men for the existence of patriarchy and women's oppression, or that I don't blame individual men for their specific offenses against women. (And also, just to be clear, women who I personally believe to have done a bad thing, or to be bad people, still deserve just as much as I do to be liberated from male oppression and do not deserve to suffer.)
Women who don't understand what they're doing are not who I'm talking about in that post. I'm not talking about women who are not intelligent or educated or mentally healthy enough, or aware enough of the reality in which they find themselves, to properly consider their own choices, and what influences them to make those choices, and how those choices might impact others. I'm talking about women who are more than capable of considering the ramifications of a decision as ethically grave as causing another person to exist, but choose not to, and then have kids on purpose. People like that are not ethically responsible or considerate of others and I condemn them, regardless of their sex.
I also want to be clear that I think men are also at fault for ethically irresponsible procreation, and that there are no circumstances under which I think it is perfectly okay to deliberately procreate, it's just that some circumstances are worse than others. My point was that it is particularly wrong for a woman to subject another person to womanhood because women understand firsthand the pain of womanhood and men do not. That isn't the same as saying that men are blameness or that men don't deserve hatred. The overwhelming majority of the hatred I experience in life is directed specifically at men. If anything, I hate men too much and could maybe stand to crank it down a little. Hating some specific women because of some specific things does not mean that I devote more of my hatred to women, or to mothers specifically, than I do to men.
And responsibility for something happening can fall on multiple parties at once. Saying someone is at fault for something isn't saying that no one else is. Fault also doesn't have to be equal between parties. You can be partially to blame for something while someone else is mostly to blame.
If you knowingly, deliberately, and unnecessarily put someone in a position where they will be vulnerable to predatory behavior, then you are responsible for them being the victim of that behavior. The predator is also responsible, and primarily responsible, but their fault does not negate yours. If you knowingly and deliberately left your friend alone with a serial killer instead of offering them a ride home to protect them, would you be completely blameless for their murder? See what I'm saying?
(Also, I will admit that that post is a little overdramatic and that it reflects the fact that I was in a particularly grumpy place when I wrote it. I would probably have worded it differently if I was writing it now.)
I feel nothing but antipathy towards women who suffer through decades of horrific experiences as a direct result of their simply existing while female, but then proceed to deliberately bring new little girls into this world, knowing what's in store for them.
If it happened to you, it can happen to her.
If it happened to someone else, it can happen to her.
You cannot protect your children from the evils of life. To choose to thrust them into it regardless is to assert your utter indifference.
Before a girl or a woman can be abused, oppressed, brutalized, first she must be. If you know firsthand the consequences, the visceral and profound physical and mental toll of daring to be as a female human, and you see nothing wrong with subjecting another person to that, with offering up another woman to the forces that seek to harm her, then you are not a feminist. You are a narcissist, myopic, selfish, and above all, apathetic to the plight of your own people.

Just watched 14x13 Lebanon.
Will preface with the fact that this was a bit of my commentary on the previous episode, and that I do think John Winchester was a crap parent
Lebanon was a pretty good episode, actually. I know some people hate it, and I started off prepared to seethe every moment that John was on screen. but then I managed to get one foot out of the John-crit zone and put it in Sam and Dean’s shoes, and looking at it from both perspectives? The episode has a lot of nuance to it.
Spoilers for this 14x13 Lebanon (obviously)
Overall I think the most important thing to remember about this episode: the theme is that some things are too good to be true.
I knew which episode it was, but I was surprised because I thought it has been in season 15, and then John didn’t show up for a while, so I thought I was wrong until the Pearl came up.
I gotta hand it to Jensen. When John appeared, there were so many emotions packed into Dean’s face in that first short scene, I had to rewatch it several times to get them. Part of it was simple shock, but I could also see… something a little like panic in his face, along with Waay too many emotions for me to name.
The conversation between Sam and John was… I started off mad and then focused more on Sam’s perspective and realized that… yeah, Sam isn’t the same person he was last time he saw his dad. And he didn’t get closure. He never got a chance to get real closure on it, and then here, he did, at least in some form.
Also, interesting thing I noticed- I could see the beginnings of how it could turn into another argument, and John said something that seemed a little accusatory, “you didn’t have a problem talking about it before you left,” and then Sam was like “nope, not gonna argue, not gonna do it, REDIRECTING-“ Which, after what Dean said in the scene before—
—Sam doesn’t want to mess this up for Dean. No way is he gonna start a fight, not now, not when they just got their dad back.
I don’t like the last line of Sam and John’s conversation: “But you did your best, dad. You – you fought for us, and you loved us, and… that’s enough.” Because honestly- it wasn’t enough. It wasn’t. And… dammit he could have done better. But then again, that’s Sam’s dad, and he’s been dead for over a decade, and sometimes people tend to put rose-colored glasses on over the past. So I’ll still happily condemn John’s parenting but I won’t condemn Sam just because he’s unable to see things for what they are in this case.
Now- my absolute favorite part of this entire episode is the section of Sam and Dean going to get groceries and noticing things are changed, and realizing “oh shit, what else is different?”
One, gotta love Dean for implying that Sam being a kale nut is a worse thing than Dean being considered a serial killer by society (which, it’s not like society is wrong??). Like, ah yes, wonderful priorities there, Dean. You’re a wanted killer with your face up in the town, but clearly Sam giving a lecture about the wonders of kale is a much worse thing. (If you can’t tell, I’m being incredibly sarcastic here)
And then here. Castiel’s appearance. I was screeching watching this. Completely freaking out- so much adrenaline. I bet if I’d taken my pulse it would have been skyrocketing-
This was followed by the scene of Castiel and Zachariah in the restaurant, which was Awesome, very clearly highlighting the difference that Dean and the Winchesters made in Cas’s life (later this will be relevant in the Confession - “You changed me, Dean”).
*cue me posting an unnecessary amount of screenshots*
Castiel unfurls his wings—
(Note the messy hair from flying around everywhere. Not the same as his old haircut, but they did what they could with Misha’s hair at the time)
Notice that Dean’s got the angel blade point down, and when he attacks Castiel, he’s using the blunt end to hit him, not the sharp end
(On the other hand, Sam uses the sharp end of the blade to swipe at Castiel. No judgement from me here, Sam sees this as “not our Cas” while Dean still sees this as “my Cas, I can talk him away from Heaven again.”)
Then, the most interesting thing here- when Cas pins Dean agains the wall, Dean’s not even trying to fight Cas here.
See how his hand settles on Castiel’s chest? Not really pressing, just touching. His other hand is gripping Castiel’s wrist, I imagine to try to remove enough pressure from his neck that he can speak. Trying to use his connection to Cas to get Castiel to stop hurting him. And it doesn’t work. Castiel stares him the eyes, not even a flicker of doubt or questioning.
You’ll note that I referred to alternate Castiel in this episode as exclusively “Castiel” and not “Cas.” Because it’s not Cas. Cas is the angel that saved Dean from Hell, and the angel that’s been by Dean’s side for 11 years (at this point in time). And this Castiel has not done that. So he is not Cas.
I’m reminded of the scene wayy back in season 5 where Cas beats Dean up in the alley for trying to give up and give in to Michael. There, Dean actually encouraged Cas to kill him, at the end, and Cas softens. Can’t exactly parse out the parallels there because my brain isn’t working, but there you go.
Now, probably my favorite conversation with John is this one, with Dean.
Right here. The way that Dean says “I have a family.”
It feels almost defiant. “I do have a family. I have Sam, Cas, Mom, Jack. My mother, my brother, my best friend… and I have a son, we all have a son. And beyond that, I’ve got Jody and Donna and Claire and the girls. I do have a family. Yeah, it doesn’t look like the apple pie life, the white picket fence, wife and kids, and yeah, our son is the child of Lucifer, and yeah, I’m in love with my best friend who’s an angel in a man’s body, and I wouldn’t trade him for any woman, and you’d hate that. But they’re my family. And I’m good with that.”
It’s proud, it’s a little defiant, it’s also a little bit of a reassurance, as we see from John’s smile afterward. I don’t think John caught the hint of a challenge in there.
I loved that moment. That might be my favorite line in the entire episode. “I have a family.”
I also like… Dean’s acceptance, “I’m good with who I am.” Part of that… I think it’s both a good thing and a sad thing and also a half lie at the same time. I think he’s good with who he is, in the sense that he’s accepted that he and Sam are the people that have to fill this role in the world, y’know, saving everyone. I think he loves the people he’s with, he loves his family and wouldn’t trade them for anything, not even having John back. No way would he ever trade Cas or Jack or Sam, or Mary, for anything else, ever.
It’s sad, though, because it’s like… he can’t imagine who he’d be if he had a different life. Yes, he’s had a few runs at an apple-pie life, but they weren’t happy, there was always something wrong nagging at him. He… I think he believes there’s no way for him to be happy, and that this is the best he could have.
I’m not even sure how to analyze the goodbye scene. I mean, the clearest thing here is just so much grief from everyone. They got a taste of their father back, and now he has to go back to being dead. There’s so many complicated feelings for both of the brothers, because of the complicated relationship with John, but in the end? They can’t help but love him, and they can’t help but feel grief at losing him. I won’t fault them for that.
In short, I wanna give Dean a gigantic hug and also give him therapy-
And then Cas coming back to the bunker when he did. I bet he sensed something and headed back to the bunker as fast as he could. Also, no clue what he experienced during the whole “Castiel and Zachariah are alive” thing. I imagine it’s possible there were two Cas’s running around for a bit? Because Mary didn’t get affected by the pearl. And Sam was there with his own memories, despite there being videos up of him doing things in the parallel universe. As for Cas, he’s part of Dean’s group of “people” so my guess is two Castiels running around for a little bit.
I like how Dean looks at Cas at the end. He’s relieved to have his angel back.
In summary-
The theme of this episode is “some things are too good to be true.” John came back, the four of them got their moment together, but John couldn’t stay. Things were good for that single afternoon, because everyone was just happy to see each other again, but it sent so much stuff into chaos that it couldn’t last, it had to be undone. And even then, if they’d tried to keep going with it, I know it would have degraded, the illusion of perfection would shatter, and they’d fall into old habits, old arguments and new ones.
And so it had to end.

Moroha doesn’t recognize her dad when he’s human.
Edit: I got hit the angst train. And some fluff. (lots of it)
“No, you’re not!”
“Yes, I am.”
“No, you’re not!!”
“Yes, I am.”
Kagome fought a smile as she watched their daughter expressed her frustration. The toddler was adamant; pointing a tiny, accusatory finger towards her father. Her (temporarily) human father.
Inuyasha merely grinned in the face of the girl’s intense interrogation.
“Nuh-huh! You are not!” She shrilled. Had he been armed with his usual acute hearing, maybe he’d wince, but he was not moved in slightest.
He leaned against the wood of their hut comfortably, as he usually did when the day receded and a calm night resumed. His wrist rested on his bent knee, just within reach of their daughter to tugged on his sleeve with as much ferocity a child she as she could muster.
“Moroha,” Kagome intervened. Her tone was soft but reprimanding. A sigh followed – knowing all too well the girl was as stubborn as they could get. Kagome was no more to blame for that trait than Inuyasha either.
Their daughter hadn’t yet grown accustomed to his change. They happened so few in between cycles that she often missed his transformation altogether. She’d sleep soundly while Inuyasha would anxiously guard their home, knowing all too well of the heightened risk, but assured slightly by a confident Kagome that she, too, was capable of defending their abode.
Moroha would not sleep that night. She was met with a stranger in her father’s favorite place. He wore her father’s robe. He even had the audacity to lay a casual hand on her mother – a certain move that would condemn him to the underworld should her father catch him.
“Yes, I am,” Inuyasha repeated, humored by her display.
“You’re not my father!”
“Of course, I am,” he chuckled.
“No, you’re not! You’re different!”
Inuyasha snorted. “Hey kid, look at a mirror. So are you,” he redirected with a straight finger. He was aiming at the mirror besides Kagome.
Moroha was so focused on the imposter that she heeded little attention to the fact her hair had changed, too. She bore the same shade of gold as he did; the striking white strands of hair highlighting the small sliver of demon than run through her veins; and her baby fangs that Kagome cooed over were on full display.
“You smell different!”
“I can barely smell you at all,” he made a motion to sniff. She scrunched her nose and crossed her arms.
“You don’t have ears!” She pointed to his head.
He scoffed. “Yes, I do. See?” He lifted his hair ever so slightly.
“Those are mommy’s ears!”
“You got some of your own,” Inuyasha encouraged. He reached out to gently pinch her own ears – the ones he usually bore – and grinned when awe overwhelmed her face. Her small hands replaced his – feeling the fur of her newfound ears and gasping upon the discovery.
“Mommy! I have ears!”
“Yes, you do,” Kagome coddled. She swaddled up her daughter and nuzzled into her cheek. “You look just like your dad.”
It always endeared her. She swore Moroha was her father’s daughter despite the lack of apparent coloring. Yet, as she glanced at her husband, she knew immediately that Moroha was a mere reflection of her father. As a human, the similarities were uncanny. How she didn’t pin it sooner was beyond her.
“For now,” Inuyasha corrected. He nodded curtly. “Wait until daybreak. You’ll look normal again.”
Normal. He used the word so often to describe her. He was projecting his wish for her to be accepted into society. Sure, she was, within the village limits – but beyond that? He wasn’t naïve to think her oddities wouldn’t be noticed by keener senses. Humans would take heed of her aura, her pointed teeth, and wild streak. Demons could smell her a mile away.
One look was all it would take to confirm she was his and, despite the anxieties that came with raising her, he was elated to know no harm could come to Moroha. Not with him and Kagome around to ensure she’d grow up safe and strong and, most importantly, loved.
“I don’t want normal. I want big ears.”
Inuyasha sighed. She would say that now and cry her heart out when her beloved ears disappeared at daybreak, but as she’d grow older, she’d appreciate the subtlety of her demon heritage. Inuyasha couldn’t deny his. He couldn’t forget the torment that came with being alienated for his unusual eyes, his dog-like ears, and claws.
Kagome could coo over her baby fangs – and Inuyasha would be content to know his daughter was adored for just the way she is, beloved by a woman who had more heart to give than anyone he’d ever known – but Inuyasha also knew beyond the barrier of the village was a cruel world ready to admonish her for those very same features.
“What about the ones your mom makes you?” Inuyasha teased.
This was not the first nor the last time she’d be upset over her lack of ears. Kagome resolved her plight by fashioning a large bow to tie back her hair – a bow that purposely resembled the same pointed arches that mimicked her father’s natural assets.
“These are real!”
“And I bet you can hear a lot with them, too,” Inuyasha grinned.
“Yeah!”
“Yet you can’t tell your old man’s voice apart from an imposter? Hmm,” he played along. He reclined his head back, closing his eyes in contentment. “You’re breaking my heart, Moroha.”
“Sometimes, just like you, your dad changes, too. He can’t be a demon all the time,” Kagome assured. “Let him be human for one night. It’s very exhausting chasing demons all day and then having to chase you, too,” she laughed along.
Moroha scampered onto his lap, unafraid of his embrace – all too accustomed to his protectiveness when he carried her around in similar fashion. She peeked up, still bewildered by his new look. She tugged on his hair, palmed his cheek, and giggled brightly when he bent his face to nuzzle into the crown of her head.
“Are you still sure I’m not your dad?”
“Yeah,” she squealed. He found her weak spot – tickling her sides mercilessly.
“If you rile her up, you’re putting her to sleep yourself,” Kagome warned quietly. Yet, she couldn’t help but glow; she was always put at ease whenever she saw how affectionate he was with her – how gentle he was, too.
“Understood,” Inuyasha beamed.
“I think tonight is the only night you may actually be stronger than me,” he humored. His hands combed through her hair, puzzled by how odd it seemed in contrast to the darker strands he so often saw.
“Wait until she’s older,” Kagome relished. “Try to keep up with her then!”
“Let’s not think about her growing up so fast,” Inuyasha frowned, “let alone running out on your old man,” he added with warmth when the girl looked up with big eyes. “Promise me that, will you? You won’t grow up? That you won’t disappear on me in a blink of the eye?”
“Yeah!”
“I’ll hold you to it,” Inuyasha smiled. Moroha raised her small palm and compared it to his. “And promise me you’ll keep these sharp things to yourself, okay? I don’t want anyone losing an eye anytime soon.” He tapped her claws one-by-one.
“No!” She giggled.
“A real killer, aren’t you? A feral child, huh? Who’s raising you??”
“You!”
“Me? Nah. But I think your dad will be here tomorrow and he’ll set you straight! I don’t have claws or teeth or anything like you but your dad? He can be really scary.”
“No!”
“No? He’s not scary? Well, aren’t you fearless?”
“Let’s not forget she has a mother, too,” Kagome harrumphed. “I’m not raising a feral child. I’m raising a girl with rules! Like bedtime!”
“No!”
Inuyasha laughed. “We have a rebel!”
“Rebels have rules, too, and you, sweetheart, have a really big one to follow.”
“No!”
“How about you sleep and when you wake up, you can your dad all about the stranger who slept over? How about that?”
“Mm.” She mocked deliberation and then flashed a smile. “Okay!”
“Alright, then,” Kagome decided. She plucked Moroha from her post on Inuyasha’s lap. She had a mat already prepared. “Would you like another story or are you all tuckered out from pestering your dad with questions?”
“Story!!”
“Alright then,” Inuyasha began. His hand hovered over her head, only to pat her crown, and tap her nose. “It’s your mom’s turn to tell a story.”
“What about the one with the butterfly?”
