so barty jr and sirius probably met during their childhood i think, bcjr was intelligent and well mannered and a respectable kid in sirius' age range, and ofc there's the hc that he was close friends w regulus, too. i hc he was pretty distant w bcjr himself but i just knoww sirius 'daddy issues' black needed everyone's parents' approval. orion was a negligent asshole sawr i think its a pretty valid course of action yk

and ofc bcsr loved him !! he was intelligent, he was quick, he was charming, well mannered, all the shit he wishes his bastard of a son was. and barty sr is a bit manipulative too yk he would definitely try to steal sirius away from his family and friends because he knows what sirius needs.

and like !! bcsr. he knows his son is death eater, he does use sirius as a replacement. he doesnt hide it, either, which he thinks justifies using a very obviously traumatized young boy to forget about the guilt in his heart about abusing, traumatizing and neglecting his own son. that being said, he gives sirius the watered down version of abuse his parents do - which sirius has grown comfortable enough with. that being said, the main reason sirius ran away isnt there: he's not a supporter of voldemort. he's actively fighting against him. (also hehe i hc walburga as bipolar so sirius is just happy he doesnt have a timebomb in the house 24/7) (or at least the timebomb doesnt explode around him !!). bcsr still mentions who sirius should associate himself with, still is disappointed when he doesnt get a good grade (an E instead of an O), he yells at sirius, maybe he raises a hand at him too - but at the end of the day sirius finds him justified because he's the one who took sirius under his wing, and is helping him, and is nice to him, and this is really what parents do to their children, right?

here is also when the post comes in btw: bcsr feels entitled to sirius' life, his idea of a parent/child relationship is ownership, and unfortunately that's sirius' view of it too, but bcsr is a lot calmer and quieter than walburga, he cares more than orion - to sirius its really the best of both worlds. bcsr wants sirius to go in politics which sirius does not want because he already has whatever career he's chosen for himself, and bcsr feels it necessary that sirius follow his - his own son wont.

bcsr does need sirius, he confides in him, he loves him (in his own fucked up way). sirius moves on, he runs away and gets farther and farther away from everything that reminds him of Before and feels resentment that bcsr (a man who he's considered his strongest father figure for years) doesn't even reach out to him once. bcsr feels that its a child's responsibility to reach out every time - he feels betrayed that sirius didn't runaway to him, that he didnt even know sirius had runaway till someone told him in passing. the letters they exchanged come to an abrupt end and it just feels like everything ended in the middle of it yk. barty crouch sr doesnt see sirius till sirius is arrested, soon after his own bio son is x

(also, yes sirius does still have the potters, but the potters are a completely different world to him. he's not used to that kind of completely unconditional love, he's not used to seeing how they shower their heir son in love. its a little bittersweet, it feels like a fantasy, sirius feels like he's intruding, he feels resentment to james for being raised with parents who love him and ofc he doesnt want that so he finds solace elsewhere. he thinks the potters are angels on earth, his relationship with bcsr is what the normal parent/child relationship is for him. if walburga and orion are a 10 on the scale of what sirius considers to be 'bad parents', euphemia and fleamont are in the negative. bcsr falls somewhere in the middle, like a 2 or 3 to sirius. to bcjr, sirius can recognize, that bcsr is horrible. he yells, may hit, he's permanently disappointed when they do interact. they barely ever do - bcsr is always busy, he makes special time for sirius (which makes sirius giddy bc wowzers am i that important?) which cuts out even more time from bcsr and bcjr to interact. ofc bcsr is horrible to sirius, too, but sirius doesnt recognise it. what regulus was to walburga is what sirius is to bcsr. also, bcsr calls sirius son and he doesnt call bcjr son. sirius is lowk a homewrecker i love him.).

Ok yep we're gonna start with Izuku and spinner. I guess I was expecting this conversation to be had but it all just felt iffy. Spinner crying out and lashing out was expected but it all feels hypocritical to me like spinner is also a murderer. At this point youre no better than eachother🤷‍♀️. Also the fact that no one tires to stop spinner from causing harm to izuku is low-key insane like?!?! Is it because you knew spinner who was bed ridden and heavily injured can't do it? Or is it because Izuku backed them aside and told them not to do anything as spinner was on the verge of attacking him. Also another point aside but I still don't get the whole shigaraki and spinner relationship I think it's underdeveloped and shigaraki saying his words only to spinner felt really empty. Spinner writing a book about the league to preserve their memories makes sense but glorifying tomura's actions not so much. Also does he even know if Dabi and the others are alive? Does he plan to contact them?

Let's GOOO corrupt hero society literally monetising a traumatic experience . Not sure what I was expecting when the chapter started but this wasn't it like how the hell are you gonna go around and ask the question who was Shigaraki tomura to you when people are probably heavily traumatised by their experiences. All of that felt like those fake and annoying tiktok interviews to be honest.

Overhaul deserves the worst forever yeah I really don't care for overhaul but I guess the ending was okay for him. Now that I think about it the anon that asked a question about enji and overhaul was really onto something because they really had similar endings. I hope that he never actually goes to apologise to Eri in person and that she forgets about him living her life.

Best thing about this chapter was naomasa . Yes Iam bias and every time I seen a naomasa fic with him being a mentor/father figure to izuku they never miss!!

Izuku again lacking intropsection and all might failing as a mentor yeah I cant say i didnt expect it but iam disappointed. Also is it me but did izuku get eye bags? Is horikoshi actually going to explore what izuku is going through or are we forever trapped not knowing? Also what about all might is he bound to a wheelchair like enji? It also seems like izuku and all mights relationship at this point is every much nonexistent

So bk and todoroki have fan girls?!?! The chapter ends in probably one of the worst tropes that I hate which is the whole fan girls thing. The fact that hero society still glorifies heroes is insane and it seems like those are the first years which the fact that hero schools are still having first years makes me head spin. Also shouldn't Izuku have fan girls if we go by the logic of bk and shoto having fangirls?

Really?!?! Is spinner the guy who also went through quirk discrimination calling shoji a "squid". This seems so hypocritical?!?! I also wish that it was both izuku and shoji that went there to meet spinner instead of it being just Izuku. Also shoji just deserves better than this!!

i fucking figured it out. xiv and br'aad are similar in the sense that they're both very self concious people hiding their issues with confidence, showmanship, and tricker behavior. however, br'aad is really really nice while xiv is!! kinda mean about it!!

there are two really big examples that show this different:

first, xiv grew up in a rich environment, but was neglected, abused and sheltered from others. br'aad grew up in poverty, but still frequently interacted with others while still being abused because. being poor is inherently traumatizing for a child. one has knowlege of most social norms/behaviors, and attempts to follow them in an attempt to be "normal", and the other has VERY little idea that they exist.

and the second, which directly ties into the first... how they behave around kids.

now, we all know br'aad does not like hurting kids. he doesnt want kids to hurt the way he hurts, he sees him and his brother in those kids, ect ect. he knows that hurting children is incredibly morally and ethically wrong, and that no kid, regardless of actions, should deserve harm.

xiv, mostly, is used to an abusive enviroment where them, a child, was frequently harmed, belittled, and hurt. this, as is, is enough for xiv not to make the connection that regular children aren't used to this behavior, but i have a really fucked up headcanon.

i think xiv's minimal interaction was between the children of their father's friends, and i think due to how their father is, they might have been forced to fight each other to "prove their strength" is.

so if we take that, with xiv working out their doubts about their father's problems, and still. maybe not realizing that little kids about the age of the kids at the tiefling grove, 8 or 9. shouldn't be chased around by staffs and screamed at and All Around Scared. yeah uh!! they might be slow to realize that kids being hurt is kinda really bad!!

anyway with that being said i think br'aad and xiv would be friends but for fucking sure they'd kinda hate each other at first. xiv'd just talk casually about how they scared a kid so hard they went to jail and didnt know what to do about it and br'aad be like WHAT THE FUCK.

hello!! :o im not sure if tappei really Intended for us to hate reinhard for that per say—i think more so tappei intends to show the astrea drama in general in a very nuanced manner (unless he proves me wrong and does weird stuff to develop them later on wjfnd but ill stand by this atm because theres a lot of textual evidence i think!!)

the arc 5 astrea drama is the very first time we learn about Any of that, and the way we learn it is interesting. this is AFTER getting attached to reinhard and wilhelm, who prior to arc 5 were established to be good well meaning and respectable people. then heinkel comes in claiming they both did shitty stuff, and of course heinkel makes the worst impression of all time, is shitty himself, AND interrupted wilhelm and reinhards reunion, so we’re not inclined to side with heinkel here. but the more we learn about the astrea family conflict, the more we realize, alongside subaru, that 1. wilhelm is not as great as he seems to be (its like learning that a close family member or friend has done some terrible stuff!! the common reaction to it is to feel Disappointed or Sad or maybe a little angry!!) and subaru also learns that 2. the entire situation is not black and white. it takes a heavy emotional toll on wilhelm, heinkel, and reinhard.

it’s also interesting that we dont Always learn info about it directly from the family members themselves—theresias dead of course and doesnt say much when she briefly comes back (more on this later), reinhard becomes more subdued around his family (which has gotta be a trauma response in an attempt to minimize the conflict), heinkel and wilhelm are unreliable narrators driven by their emotions. we learn some of the bulk of the drama from JULIUS, an outsider, but someone with ties to reinhard personally and the knights. so we’re also getting unreliable info about someone like heinkel (whos got a reputation thats honestly shittier than even his behavior, which i pity him for), and someone like reinhard is extremely hard to read (we just know that hes. you know. Traumatized. and Sad.)

i DO think though that throughout all of this we’re supposed to sympathize with EVERY astrea family member. every single one. we’re meant to understand each of their actions, because they all contribute to the family dysfunction unwillingly or consciously.

we’re given the reasoning behind almost all of their actions in the conflict. wilhelm lashed out because of grief, and hes spent years regretting what he did and not knowing how to fix things. heinkel’s an alcoholic from stress, trauma, and self-hatred, and post-arc 5 we see more of his psyche (which is shown in a very honest sympathetic light as well, hinting at heinkel getting future development and most likely a redemption arc). heinkel then lashes out (which is a Sad pattern in this family given wilhelm also does that... and its implied that heinkel is also like this Because of wilhelm's influence) to deal with all of this too (and because he Genuinely thinks those things now. hes a sad bitter man). we also know from side stories that heinkel used to be a good man who truly loved reinhard, and we do know that heinkel still loves louanna and has spent YEARS searching for a cure. as for reinhard, he was a CHILD (five when it first started!!) throughout almost all of this conflict, and hes the youngest member of his family and still young even as he’s grown up now. and he certainly didnt Intend to kill his own grandma when he was five, and he definitely deals with the guilt of all that years later. he shuts down around his family in the present, for one. and two—reinhard was failed by his family members, who have been ADULTS for the entire conflict and are his father and grandfather respectively. if anything, reinhard has the least blame here. he was a child!! a child thats been conditioned into serving the kingdom at All Costs to himself!! heinkel and wilhelms grief is understandable but it should not cost them their literal child!! they were the ones with the responsibility to pull themselves together and they failed to do that!!

but then reinhard kills theresia.

the thing with reinhard killing theresia is that reinhard was very much not wrong for that. tappei takes the time to show corpse soldier theresia going after heinkel and wilhelm—both of which are too weak in this moment physically and emotionally to stop theresia, WHO IS THEIR MOTHER AND WIFE RESPECTIVELY. and iirc wilhelm was also injured by her. heinkel pisses himself in fear while begging for her to stop—or something along those lines. its Terrifying. and it shows theresia, as she was in that moment, is a threat!! what else was reinhard going to do?? if he doesnt apprehend theresia, shes going to kill the rest of their family T^T

yeah so. reinhard kills theresia. afterwards, heinkel and wilhelm give reinhard shit for it but again, they were going to DIE if reinhard hadnt stepped in. and its clear that reinhard is saddened by what he had to do, even as he says that the corpse soldier theresia ISNT THERESIA. and reinhard is technically kind of right!! that was a corpse soldier!! she was both theresia (her last words to wilhelm are proof of this) and Not Theresia (she already died years ago!! this was a reanimated corpse!!).

its wilhelm and heinkel that misinterpret reinhard’s demeanor as him Not Caring. because he does care, but reinhard has always had an uncanny personality—likely partly because of trauma (remember how i said he shuts down a bit around his family? common trauma response) and partly because of reinhard’s endless divine protections giving him a very. Unique. perspective on everything. so reinhard has difficulty with connecting with others because of all of that. hes Really hard to read, especially in a complicated situation like this where its basically a lose-lose for everyone involved. wilhelm and heinkel are blinded by their grief and fear and anger and because reinhard 1. killed theresia, 2. said that that Wasnt Theresia, and 3. said he didnt regret killing theresia and 4. said that he did the right thing (which is probably because, again, what else could he do, theresia was going to kill heinkel and wilhelm)... yeah so wilhelm and heinkel read reinhard as being cold and unfeeling and callous so they both completely give up on reinhard in this moment. the coffin is. metaphorically and literally closed here, reinhard killing theresia (again. for the second time. if youre heinkel and wilhelm) was the very last nail.

and ultimately like. again, tappei gives us All the narrative tools to understand each member of the astrea family in this conflict. tappei also even notes the detail (iirc. in like a qna somewhere. if someone can find it or whatever please feel free to add!!) of theresia, on her death bed in arc 5, had nothing to say to reinhard and heinkel. its kind of. weird. when she makes SURE that wilhelm knows that she loves him but she doesnt even bother with her son and grandson - and heinkel does note that she looked at them "hatefully" (which. heinkel is an unreliable narrator, but its interesting for tappei to include that detail because heinkel also goes "she looked at us like That, who else could that be but mother?"). so uh. astrea family dynamics are complicated, have likely always been complicated even before everything went wrong with them, and tappei also gives us theresias full backstory in her pov in arc 5. AND he shows that the corpse soldier was still. Theresia. in the end. its extremely complicated. tappei takes the time to show that with every detail.

so anyway. yeah i feel like we're meant to sympathize with everyone in the astrea family. theyre all people with their own flaws, theyve all contributed in some way to the conflict whether they like it or not, they all have various degrees of blame, if you really want to go into whos the Most Guilty for all the dysfunction. even poor louanna contributed indirectly via falling into a coma T^T

but i dont think tappei means for us to like hate any of them. just because tappei Always shows how complicated the situation is. tappei is Always sympathetic to all astrea members as much as tappei also often calls them out for their flaws (heinkel is the most obvious example, tappei also does it with theresia and wilhelm a bit, and reinhard is shown to be a bit stilted in social situations with a habit of stomping on other peoples boundaries sometimes without realizing or because he thinks its for the other persons good, etc). and as much as i love making jokes at wilhelms expense because he did fuck up quite a Lot with his family (same with heinkel... and im a little sus of theresia but she Did care about heinkel in the past, we know that from her named chapter)...

like. i can understand where someone like wilhelm is coming from. do i hate him for lashing out at his five year old grandson and helping turn his son against his grandson? oh yeah. yeah. but i can Understand why he did it and i feel bad for him, which i think was more so tappei's goal here. so the audience can hate any of these characters if you so feel like it, but tappei means for us to deeply deeply get where they're coming from and why they did what they did. so maybe its more so that we're not supposed to hate these characters, maybe we're just supposed to hate Their Actions and wish that things didnt turn out that way. because it couldve been better at any turn - wilhelm couldve just not lashed out and blamed reinhard when he was five, heinkel couldve also pulled himself together, louanna didnt have to go into a coma, theresia didnt have to die twice, etc etc. but thats the point of it all i think. it turned for the worse but all we can do is try to think about How it turned out this way. and i pity all of them, really.

plus, reinhard, wilhelm, heinkel are 1000% getting some kind of further development with this, i'd say. and rezero is Repeatedly about forgiveness and growth, so yeah. i absolutely dont think we're supposed to fully hate any of them. if anything, im rooting for their growth before its. you know. Too Late. but yeah thats just my extremely long opinion/feelings on all of this, people are totally free to disagree of course :o !! hope that answers your question though!!

BAM SURPRISE WHEEZER MINI-RAMBLE YIPPEE 🦅🐿️🐿️I DIDNT MEAN TO PUT THE CHIPMUNKS 🦅🦅💥💥💥THATS BETTER

nobody asked for a wheezer ramble but I have wheezer on the mind so you’re getting it anyway!! I’m not going to go through everything I’ve ever written down to find all his lore so this is gonna be a much more barebones summary of him. There’s not much about him anyway tbh. But if I don’t get something about wheezer out there immediately I will explode so. Here ya go

Wheezer is one of the children of the esteemed jørgan clan leader, J.S.. He has a couple of siblings but I can’t exactly discuss them because heh. well. Let’s just say, I have nothing created about them other than the fact that they exist. No names, no lore, no personality, nothing. But they exist!! Wheezer is the second oldest (I think) but gets the most focus in the plot because of his…eccentricities. Wheezer isn’t his original name—his birth name was Miika, a name that was his father's birth name as well. He got his name Wheezer quite early on because of uh. A certain…quirk of his!

He rips out his internal organs! Yeah uh he immediately proved to be the strangest of J.S.’s offspring thanks to that little habit of his. He impulsively removes his own organs. With his bare hands. He puts the organ into jørga(GETS SHOT) how he actually manages to do it without getting himself killed is simple: plot armor. For him it’s as simple of a habit as absentmindedly picking at your face or something. The very first known organ he removed was his appendix and pumpkin daddy had the misfortune of witnessing it and was understandably traumatized 🥰🥰 J.S. was bizarrely nonchalant about it, just telling him to ignore it, so it’s pretty likely this wasn’t the first time wheezer had done something like this. Although it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility that JS was just Way too relaxed about the whole thing but that’s not relevant right now. SO why did that earn him the name Wheezer? Welp one time he ripped out his windpipe and for whatever reason it was replaced with the pipes in a pipe organ. Like this

Which resulted in his breathing (and voice for that matter) sounding strange and wheezy, and occasionally even like the sound of a pipe organ. Is this in any way biologically possible, no. Don’t care though! Wheezer isn’t his chosen name, it’s just a nickname, but he stuck with it so everyone just calls him Wheezer. He has a beautiful singing voice, at least! But yeah he uh. Rips out his internal organs a lot. He is missing a lot of them but he’s FIIIIIINE.

Being born into the jørgan clan meant that he was raised to be pretty patriotic to the clan. He wasn’t to be the one to become the next leader, that role was to go to his much more…better in every way sibling, something which he resented, but he eventually accepted it and was still loyal to his clan for the most part. He was stuck in clan culture from a young age, attending the leaders’ meetings and such. The environment he grew up in was…interesting. He was taught with a hell of a lot of propaganda, and his parents were…unique (His father was a retired volcanologist with a drug addiction and was gifted with becoming a literal god who could control the weather, and his mother was a a demon worshipper who was all gaslight gatekeep girlboss and was basically the head of the family)!! He didn’t just have to put up with the strangeness of his own clan, because WHO IS THAT SHADOWY FIGURE WHO KEEPS BREAKING INTO MY ROOM AT NIGHT oh that’s pumpkin daddy why the fuck is he breaking in at night.

So pumpkin daddy had SO much resentment towards JS (and his wife for that matter but her less so) due to prior incidents, and immediately assumed that their children’s lives must be hell, considering those HORRID CREATURES were their PARENTS. They were actually perfectly competent parents for the most part, but pumpkin daddy didn’t know that, and decided the best course of action would be to…break into their house by crawling through the pipes and giving presents to their children. He also had a weird habit of leaving their shower on and flooding their bathroom like some sort of bizarre Santa Claus. But uh point is, wheezer was often on the receiving end of whatever the hell pumpkin daddy thought he was doing, and would often be gifted with banana bread. Yeah no he wasn’t giving out any useful gifts he was just giving them banana bread. Point is, wheezer had to deal with this almost every week. So suffice to say wheezer had a strange upbringing. But, despite these offerings of banana bread, Wheezer still hated pumpkin daddy due to what his parents taught him. He, in fact, was one of the major supporters of the movement to have him publicly executed. All that banana bread for nothing smh so ungrateful 😔

In his late teens, Sushi took over as the head of the fish clan, and he thought she was COOL AS HELL. a FISH WOMAN? with COOL FLOWY HAIR? incredible. She would often swim around in a giant tank during the meetings he would attend and he was ENAMORED with her graceful swimming. Her personality wasn’t exactly graceful but he thought that was cool as hell too. His passion for the jørgan clan had already been eroding thanks to his inability to become the next leader, and seeing Sushi was essentially the nail in the coffin and he abandoned the jørgan clan altogether. He struck up a friendship with Sushi and ran off with her. He didn’t become an official member of the fish clan, though, he was more so just trying to find his purpose in life outside of any set clan (it’s perfectly possible to not be part of any clan, but it can be difficult as it causes some isolation and loss of opportunities). Despite leaving his clan, his relationship with it and his family remained surprisingly solid, staying in consistent contact with them. The clan was incredibly confidential in its communications, though, perhaps to an absurd degree, and so to avoid any of their interactions being intercepted (especially by sushi, they had positive relations with the fish clan but it was still obvious sushi was young and inexperienced and she had a habit of leaking confidential communications just because she wanted to talk about them) they would often communicate via milk. How do you communicate with milk, you ask? They’d report false missing people reports and have the supposed missing persons’ names be secret messages to be put on the carton—for example, if Wheezer wanted to say something as simple as, I dunno, “hello father what are you doing for Christmas dinner,” he would report a barrage of missing people named “Elle O. Vathir-Wat” “R.U. dooen-four” “Chris mis”. Is it an inconvenient way to communicate? Absolutely. Do they spend an absurd amount of money on milk just to piece together the messages? Absolutely. But they do it anyway. It’s one of the most logistically nonsensical pieces of lore but I love it so much It’s a difficult way to communicate, but it gets the job done, although it makes a lot of people concerned about just how many missing people there are (and has sparked numerous search efforts to get that sweet sweet reward for finding someone. Someone who doesn’t even exist). It certainly boosts milk sales though.

To make ends meet, Wheezer landed a job at a large company ran by the Ramsay clan. This company was the small TBYTF research group pumpkin daddy had founded many years ago, which the Ramsay clan eventually got ownership of and turned into a multimillion dollar company that was being rapidly ran into the ground by Bingo due to his incompetence. It was the same company in name alone, they scarcely researched TBYTF and was now just a shell of its former self. Wheezer had no set position there, as, like I said, the company was being run into the ground and every employee was basically being delegated to whatever task could possibly save the company. So Wheezer did a variety of tasks there, such as gathering confidential clan information, finding and retrieving rare artifacts (this was his main task, as it was believed there were numerous powerful artifacts that were potentially being stolen by jørgan clan affiliates, hence why Wheezer was in particular chosen for this role) and working closely with Bingo as his personal assistant. Bingo had a VERY unprofessional work environment!! I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before but Bingo is just straight up a cannibal and was constantly resisting the urge to eat Wheezer. Like he would actively make little diagrams of how the best way to prepare Wheezer for consumption and would not so subtly sprinkle him with seasonings while they spoke. So yeah bingo was absolutely planning on eating Wheezer!! Yikes!! Wheezer also had to deal with a guy named Biti who was constantly begging for money and doing annoying dances but he doesn’t really matter

On a more positive note, Wheezer and Sushi’s relationship was flourishing. They were very close friends and Sushi would often help Wheezer with his failing writing career (we will get to that soon). Wheezer even gave her his small intestine as a show of love! How…wonderful! They bonded over their undying hatred of pumpkin daddy! They even had a little figurine of him being hanged, which is, in any other context other than a story as unserious as pdbc, Very disturbing if you think about it! They dubbed it “mistlechum” (I actually don’t really remember why it’s called that, I know it’s a combination of mistletoe and chum but idk where the chum part came from…..). But uh oh!!! Sushi was in love with wheezer!!! Oh dear!!! What if we kissed under the mistlechum 👉👈

She invited him to a fish clan owned restaurant and earnestly professed her love for him. But alas!! Wheezer is aroace!! When he told Sushi this she was DEVASTATED. Luckily for sushi though Wheezer was fine with being in a relationship on the receiving end of a ton of sappy affection as long as she was fine with knowing that he didn’t reciprocate any of the romantic stuff (and the sexual stuff but that’s kinda a given because intimate relationships between fish-people and non-fishes is very taboo). We stan healthy communication and boundaries in relationships, love to see it (this is SO rare in pdbc there is an astounding lack of communication for almost every other relationship). So they began dating yippee!!

Now. Onto his semi-failure of a writing career. His true passion in life is writing but, alas, he’s not very good at it. His lack of a writing prowess isn’t even related to the fact that he’s dyslexic, something that runs in the family as J.S. has it too, that’s not the issue—he just is Not good at putting together a coherent narrative. He has numerous notebooks filled with incoherent ideas and plots that go nowhere. Wheezer is generally pretty docile compared to the rest of the jørgan clan, but, as the old saying goes, you can take the Wheezer out of the jørgan clan, but you can’t take the jørgan clan out of the Wheezer. Which basically just means that he needs to CHILL OUT he has a surprisingly short temper and petty side to him. Unlike most he’s able to handle it, but he can be extremely dramatic and violent at times (wheezer noooo stop slamming a table and throwing stuff everywhere you need to RELAX). And that aspect of him comes out a lot when his writing flops. Despite publishing numerous works that went nowhere, even with his inherent shred of fame from being part of the jørgan family, Wheezer did, eventually, manage to find slight success in his work. Not enough for it to be his sole job and certainly not enough to satisfy his ego, but…some amount of success. He has any more misses than hits, though. Wheezer’s most successful works are Gadi, a long form comic (graciously drawn by Sushi, who isn’t exactly the best artist considering she has no fingers, but is still somehow better than Wheezer) about two desert-dwelling guys in a post apocalyptic nuclear war-damaged world trying to scrape out a life for themselves, and a popular yet nonsensical series called The Dark Side Of The Sun. All was well for Wheezer. For a while. He and sushi were happy together, sushi helped him with his writing, Bingo didn’t try to eat Wheezer yet…and then Bert happened.

Bert is pure chaotic evil. I won’t get into him any further for now. He is diabolical. He is a Golem created simply to play cruel pranks. Wheezer’s number one pet peeve is being called resigned, for whatever reason. If you call him resigned he will be beyond enraged. I am NOT resigned I am ASSERTIVE I would NEVER BE RESIGNED HOW DARE YOU I WILL NEVER RESIGN FROM ANYTH—so anyway Bert pulled the ultimate prank (he was doing a series of pranks for a radio show) and submitted a fake resignation letter to Bingo. Bingo readily accepted it without any proof of it being real, and let Wheezer go. Wheezer was HYSTERICAL. he didn’t necessarily love his job but it was the only job he had, and he wanted to keep it more than anything. He was upset to the point that he stormed into the company building and vandalized it, writing indescribable words on the walls in his own blood (how he started bleeding in the first place, who knows? Probably ripped out another organ) and eventually crashed into Bingo’s office and began smashing all his stuff. I’m sure this won’t go wrong at all!

Yeah so turns out, one of the possessions that remained in Bingo’s office from the early days of the company back when pumpkin daddy owned it, was a painting that leads you to the alcoves like how you enter levels in super mario 64. Whoops!!! Entering the alcoves by mistake is basically a death wish!! To his surprise he wasn’t met with immediate danger, he kinda just stumbled in on pumpkin daddy and Gourdie hanging around and talking like normal people. But of course the panic set in and instead of explaining what happened he ran off to who knows where in the alcoves into a room filled with a ton of dangers. Basically like a huge obstacle course that you could probably get out safely from if you weren’t in a state of panic which, unfortunately, Wheezer was. Wheezer crashed around in there almost getting himself killed for hours on end until he managed to get himself to safety. He was too stunned and physically drained to get himself together and leave the alcoves entirely, however, so he stuck around and hung around with pumpkin daddy until he was ready to leave. Doing that was a HORRIBLE mistake, not because pumpkin daddy did anything heinous to him (well. Aside from not trying to help Wheezer when he was flailing around getting himself hurt and instead just sitting back to watch) but quite the opposite. Pumpkin daddy just kinda awkwardly comforted Wheezer (probably DESPERATELY waiting for him to leave because Wheezer basically just crashed into his living room) and helped Wheezer out with some of his problems, such as giving him simple writing advice and some spelling lessons. Turns out the number one way to impress wheezer is by tutoring him in spelling because he ended up becoming absolutely enamored with pumpkin daddy and saw him in a whole new light. He was no longer the enemy, no longer some weird pumpkin freak who should be executed, no—he was WONDERFUL he was a HERO he is the LEADER WE DESERVE. Most chalked his sudden change of heart up to apparent “post-alcoves shock”, but nobody can really say for sure why Wheezer did a complete 180. Whatever the reason, Wheezer has what many call fincheuss (pronounced fawn-shway)—a portmanteau of finch and issues. So it basically just means that you have issues pertaining to pumpkin daddy 🥰🥰 which Wheezer definitely did 🥰 Wheezer was a CHANGED MAN post-alcoves. He developed a strange habit of eating milk-soaked bread at the turn of midnight and being overall just…different. He and Sushi continued their relationship without a hitch despite their highly differing views on pumpkin daddy so good for them I guess!!

Bear with me here bc this part of the story is a bit undercooked (heartbreaking) but, as tensions began to escalate on the island, Wheezer joined a small group known as the mischief flock (sigh…like I said this part is so painfully undercooked but I love the mischief flock so much I just wish I knew what their deal actually was lmao). The mischief flock started off as a group that was trying to figure out ways to deescalate everything, but the members had such differing views that it ended up just being a friend group of people who…weren’t really friends. BUT WHATEVER wheezer for the most part simply attempted to convince the others in the group that “nooooo we can’t kill pumpkin daddy he’s so awesome :(“ he didn’t really convince anyone (unsurprisingly) yet somehow managed to get on Gourdie’s bad side?? For whatever the reason the two of them just could NOT get along despite both of them sharing the same mindset. Whilst in the mischief flock, Wheezer was the victim of yet another hilarious “prank”, in which someone, though not Gourdie surprisingly, hired a hit man on him. Not a hit man sent to kill him, a hit man sent to crawl in his ear and cause immense damage that deafened him. It’s worth mentioning that the hit man was a bug so that’s how he managed to squeeze in there. Despite Gourdie’s disliking of Wheezer she did have a sliver of sympathy and gave him a basket of baby snakes called Squiggle Snakes. And the squiggle snakes immediately became Wheezer’s friend! And made themselves at home! In the back of his eye sockets! Yeah wheezer can NOT catch a break when it comes to body horror. Somehow he wasn’t blinded by this. On the topic of Wheezer having an absolutely horrible time, turns out he’s allergic to Kurt’s famous moisturizer, so he couldn’t even get hugged by Kurt without having an allergic reaction 😔 heartbreaking

And, speaking of which, then Kurt fucking died. Yeah Wheezer actually predicted this would happen—he had a dream in which Kurt died, although he didn’t think it would actually happen considering Wheezer is no stranger to nightmares. But as it turns out, dreams CAN come true because sushi killed Kurt!!! Whoops!! This was beyond unforgivable to Wheezer, as he was a friend of Kurt, and immediately broke up with sushi without a second thought. Sushi was devastated at this break up and so did the only logical thing to do: dealing with her emotions like a normal healthy person and NAH I’M JUST KIDDING SHE TRIED TO KILL WHEEZER, TOO!! Wheezer, as you could probably guess, did not get killed and managed to escape the wrath of the angry fish woman who would benefit greatly from proper therapy. That wasn’t the end of things though, because while he was already trying to deal with Kurt’s death, trying to help avoid war, and trying to deal with Everything else going on, Sushi started sending Wheezer countless gifts and other miscellaneous trinkets in an attempt to win him back. This didn’t work, obviously, and Wheezer’s life continued spiraling out of control. Alas. However, on the bright side, the mystical FaceTime duck chose him as his new owner after Kurt’s death! FaceTime duck even granted Wheezer healing, fixing his seemingly irreparable hearing loss brought upon by that hit man (hit bug?). But uh. It is worth noting that he Immediately lost his hearing again because Gourdie got pissed with him and she proceeded to chase him around with a megaphone, screaming in his ear until he went deaf again. Look ok you gotta remember that almost everyone in pdbc is a HORRIBLE person. I love them all dearly but they are utterly despicable I gotta be honest lmao

So!!! Wheezer, being an important clan member (despite technically no longer being part of his clan) attended the negotiations. He didn’t actually play much of an important role there, however—if anything he just made things worse. First of all, Fina goes NUTS around wheezer. Not really in a good way, or a bad way. Fina’s strange enough as is but wheezer, with his organ-like voice and being the child of a god…it’s like giving a sleep deprived chimpanzee cocaine. Or giving a demon a bath in holy water? I dunno why those’re the best analogies I can come up with but point is Wheezer’s mere existence short circuits her brain. So it’s quite likely Wheezer being there led to Fina’s especially bad behavior at the negotiations.

And secondly, he screwed things up by creating an eldritch horror! Gourdie gave him very specific instructions for a task he was supposed to complete with some recovered artifacts, but wheezer completely ignored her (some say he simply couldn’t hear her because, well, she did deafen him after all, but given Wheezer’s overall personality it’s just as likely he knew full well what she wanted him to do and purposely ignored it) and promptly used the artifact’s powers to create a horrific suitcase creature named bowser. No relation to the Mario character. Bowser is a disgusting creature that I won’t get into too much for the sake of time, but he’s covered in zippers and such and can unzip his skin. He also spits gasoline and then lights things on fire. Enough about bowser though. He and Gourdie got into a huge fight over this incident, leading to a physical brawl that everyone else in attendance found very entertaining. Gourdie won, but that’s to be expected considering she’s a retired boxer. Wheezer got the absolute shit knocked out of him.

Somehow that fight of theirs was actually a good thing for wheezer, as Sushi ended up helping him out afterwards by patching him up a bit and giving him something to drink. Which, I mean, certainly doesn’t excuse everything she did, but it was at least a sign that she was TRYING to improve and that her little fishy-heart was in the right place. And, uh oh, you know what time it is!!! It’s that time where I reach the part where the story is CRIMINALLY UNDERCOOKED!! YIIIIKES ALRIGHT so Wheezer is actually pretty important during this part which makes it even worse that it’s all a big mess. To put it as simply as I can, he was the one who stopped fina from straight up murdering pumpkin daddy. LUCKILY wheezer actually has a bit of a role in the final stretch of the story so his story doesn’t abruptly start, yippee

Wheezer didn’t immediately get back together with sushi, as one could imagine. Sushi ended up turning herself in for the murder of Kurt (SHOCKING) (WHY THE HELL WOULD SHE DO THAT) (THE LEGAL SYSTEM IN PDBC IS INCREDIBLY FUCKED SO SOMEONE ACTUALLY HAVING CONSEQUENCES FOR THEIR ACTIONS IS ASTOUNDING) and Wheezer just kinda. awkwardly continued his writing career as if nothing happened. And tried to avoid the fame that came with the whole Gourdie fight incident (people were demanding he make some sort of scripted fighting show but he was just like “nooo I want to write about desert-dwelling boyfriends :(“) J.S. also might’ve kinda thrown himself in a volcano soooooo wheezer also had to deal with the ramifications of thaaaaaaaatttt. He stayed in touch with sushi while she was in the stock market (if you don’t remember the prison system on Fincg island is more so just a stretch of land where criminals are sent, it’s called the stock market) and together they decided their next business venture would be to create a giant indoor sanctuary for the non-humans (fish people, bug people, also there are other species that were quickly evolving to human intelligence) so that they could have a place more suitable for their environmental needs, called the Snowflake (named after it’s snowflake-like design). To fund this however they both had to land more lucrative jobs, so wheezer went out and got a nice, wholesome job NAH I’M JUST KIDDING he started embezzling money from his now-defunct clan. But it got the job done and he managed to not only start building the Snowflake, but he also bought a nice house for him and sushi. Bowser burned the house down though so yikes no nice house for them

AND FINALLY he and sushi got married, mostly for the financial and legal benefits. Their wedding was for the most part pleasant, although Gourdie did Not appreciate the fact that he and sushi decided that they would kiss under the mistlechum. She didn’t care that kissing underneath a crude effigy of her presumed-dead husband was “romantic” or “a symbol of our first date” or whatever. But yeah sushi and wheezer got married and lived happily ever after?? I guess??? Good for him for being one of the only characters who aren’t miserable by the end???

SO YEAH that’s a brief summary of Wheezer, yippee, here’s random trivia:

He’s an organ donor. Pretty unsurprising, you gotta do SOMETHING with those organs you rip out

His dear friend, a deer, was killed by chronic wasting disease. He visits his grave often

He has razor sharp collarbones. Not exaggerating they are Painfully sharp and they make him look very strange

He was once “gifted” a pair of gloves from pumpkin daddy. Pumpkin daddy demanded he throw the gloves into a volcano because he believed they were haunted but wheezer, as per usual, disobeyed instructions and kept the gloves for himself

He’s one of the few who can see when people are drawings. “What does this mean” WELL YOU SEE some people are just straight up Not Real and are literally drawings but almost everyone’s under a shared hallucination that they’re a real person. Those who can see the truth are often outcast and seen as crazy when really it’s quite the opposite. It’s uh. Difficult to explain

oh my GOD i deleted my rant by accident im gonna cry lemme try to remember what i wrote but tl;dr not really a theory but me trying to arrange my understanding of albrecht and tmitw

also i wrote this at 5-6am and didnt sleep so shit's probably messy

ok so a major theme in warframe that recurrs in warframe is the loss of identity or sense of self. natah/lotus/margulis, erra becoming pazuul, teshin being controlled by the worm queens, the operator dissociating and believing they're our warframe, then the operator losing themselves to the worm queen and the operator (+rell) confusing ourselves with tmitw himself , the drifter in duviri, warframes themselves losing their sense of self (umbra at some point, and potentially arthur and aoi down the line), albrecht worrying who really left the void dimension, the remaining entrati family themselves!. we're also told many times that the void gives but it also takes, and that it's heavily influenced by strong emotions

in cosmic horror stories usually the horror is a representation of something else. in lovecraft's works it's often his disgust with people of colour, viewing them as something completely alien. in bloodborne part of it is the fears of pregnancy and dealing with offspring. i haven't played darkest dungeon but i've heard that it's about trauma and how the overwhelming traumatic events become too much to bear that people go mad. in the lighthouse, part of the horror is that people will fight and kill just to know the truth, or what they believe to be salvation

so i think albrecht's horror was his fear of losing his identity. we knew from the clock's archives that his experiments hadn't been going well prior to the bell incident. he was losing respect as an archimedian, maybe he lost respect as a father and husband too. i think a lot of us theorise already that albrecht IS the man in the wall, not a doppelganger like tmitw literally was with the operator. but tmitw being omnipresent means that they can freely simultaneously be and not be other people, the paradox of eternalism. albrecht is now the void, he knows every timeline and every outcome and potentially every person (except operator/drifter because they're already void in multiple senses of the word) but he is also still one human. the human mind can't reconcile knowing everything, that's just madness. lucky that kids aren't as self aware as adults!

the void isn't evil nor good. it gives and takes merely because that's the way the universe works, very vaguely dare i say the law of conservation in (a very sci-fi way) action. the void is in the grand scheme of things is just a natural phenomenon of the universe. but the overwhelming emotion present during the 10-0 accident (if that even was an accident) and albrecht's own experiment just happened to be fear, so the void literally embodied the concept of fear and became a person, vecause that's just what the void does. it became an unknowable being behind a veil just beyond our perceptive reality that understands the plights of humanity a little too well. it could have manifested into something friendly and offered us and albrecht a deal in a polite way if the circumstances were right but it wasn't. tmitw is a manifestation of the void so whether the man - albrecht - wanted to or not, he had to approach our operator in their greatest moment of fear. what he did have a choice in, though, was to offer a deal. and what better way to secure a time loop, multiple ones even, that will guarantee your becoming wally than to be a time-space hopping entity who can exploit a bunch of scared kids who didn't know any better.

i don't know what we'll be using the vessel for but i don't think we'll be using it to fight a giant wall (and if we are it won't be the climactic final fight). i don't think we'll ever overcome the void, and we don't need to. the void just is. but the man in the wall literally is just a man. and i know people dunk on bad cosmic horror when the spooky thing is actually just a person or has sympathetic motivations but i think here warframe may be able to pull it off well. it's a cosmic horror that's made life miserable over multiple lifetimes, but the horror simultaneously is just a victim partially of his own doing because the cosmic horror never was alien, it's just a person who's scared of losing himself, just like the lotus was and just like our operator was. the cosmic horror IS the person in the stories who faced the horrors, who faced themselves in the seriglass bell - all it took to differentiate us and albrecht was an *accident* (though at this point it was probably intentional)

we need to confront albrecht/the man in the wall and try to stop his madness. but like many cosmic horror stories go, i think he's trapped no matter what. he'll either overcome his fear of losing himself and become one with the void, leaving us for good, or he'll try to return to gomaitru. but the fact that he's not the same as he was before and neither is gomaitru, with what he's seen and experienced as tmitw will be so maddening that he'll have to leave for the void once again in a suicide mission if he still can't reconcile with *what he is* now. in true cosmic horror fashion we will probably never fully know his motivations till the end, being a greater being than our scope of thinking - and with eternalism in place, maybe albrecht reconciling with himself was what already happened back in the seriglass bell

the unfortunate news was given that my dad's chemo probably isn't working so he "might" have to do 30 day "isolation chemo" (?) which sounds horrible and scary. I want to visit him then if so... I don't want him to be alone for 30 days. I'm terrified he will be abusive to me.

when my mother died, she couldn't hurt me, even though I was terrified to see her. seeing her helpless body waste away from cancer was traumatizing but also released any fear I ever had of her, even though the memory of her abuse will always live in me.

my dad was not abusive like she was but sometimes i think he is worse for ever enabling her to be around me, ever choosing to "raise" a kid with her, comparatively, she had much less choice in her actions than he did.

i dont know what it means or if it will help. i didnt think these chemo rounds would help... i never thought my dad would get better... but hearing the advancing news doesn't help.

especially after watching someone's long term dying lead to hospice and then death and how irreverently it was handled, in this household (my partner's grandmother).

my dad will lose whatever hair he has left and im sure will look unrecognizable in a way.

whatever anger or apathy i have to combat my sense of obligation that shouldnt even really exist... i feel for him. im scared for him. i dont want him to suffer, and i dont know if it's worth going through.

i dont want to sway his decision, im positive he will die from this either way. i dont want to lose time with him, but ive already lost time. he's had 30 years to fix this and he hasnt...

i dont know if i can physically handle the grief of seeing him this way.

he always sounds livelier over the phone than he is, but... he didn't watch his parents die this way.

i will lose both of my parents to horrible forms of cancer (i mean, they're all horrible). at least Gene froze to death and it shocked everyone and he didn't suffer.

we've been iced in for a week here in p0rtland, and i got money back that i "owed" to unemployment when gene died. it felt like, after 3 years, he was helping me,... of all times to get the money back now... itll help me move out of my in laws... but a horrible thought happened... what if it's because my dad is going to go sooner than we thought?

i cant decide, anyways, and ocd is a bitch.

my back is killing me from days of making music and trying to learn mixing and mastering and animation and editing just for the fuck of it to stay sane, entirely diy.

today i cant focus, anymore... im listening to david bowie and crying alone and listening to my stupid in laws talking in the kitchen. i cant mourn here because this is a house of narcissism and enabling. hell, someone DIED in THEIR family and THEY wont/cant even mourn.

if my dad doesnt take the chemo, he will continue to failingly rely on his weekly (or more) blood transfusions. and eventually, he will die. maybe he will choose that to spare himself, and in a way, i almost wish he would, but i cant say i really wish that, ... i wish he was a better father, i wish he didnt have cancer even if he is 73, i dont wish him a sudden death bc itd be jarring but a long way is almost worse. i dont know what i want. i wish he couldve ever cared for me so that i could care for him. but what happened is he didnt care for me, and i care, but i cant care FOR him. i cant fix this. i cant love or unlove or hurt or unhurt it away.

when he dies i will not have any family left.

and then some part of me will be released from this burden of grieving a family that was always "dead" to me, but now, permanently, which will just feel fucked up.

ive spent 3 years grieving mom and gene. then i will grieve him too. when will it fucking end

in spite of this i have to work hard to perservere bc its what gene would want. its what my dad would want even tho fuck what he wants. its what *i* would want if i was diagnosed with cancer tomorrow myself or in 40 years. im terrified.

heres my reaction to finishing beast (spoilers obviously) (this is turning out really long I'm just shoving all of my theories and analysis ideas in it without organization)

Why didnt dazai tell chuuya about the beast world secrets instead of atsushi and akutagawa!!! if only two people can know he could have told chuuya and they could have protected the world for oda together (I am actually crying over this)

they still could have made atsushi and akutagawa partners if it was that important chuuya deserved better

buttttt chuuya is such a small part of this universe and I understand the story asagiri decided to tell. I just wish dazai was a different kind of person and made different decisions. their relationship is strange but I dont doubt that dazai could have manipulated it to be something capable of that

why did dazai come up with this horrible convoluted long term plan of abusing and traumatizing atsushi and akutagawa ober years to get them together for one fight and tell them the truth. dazai is so bizzare and perplexing

he isnt canon dazai, he just saw canonzais memories and ran with it. he saw how much oda meant to dazai and decided to protect the world where he was alive and happy at the expense of everyone else, including himself. if only oda knew the sacrifices dazai made on his behalf.

Mori taking over the orphanage and being a good guy and stepping up as atsushis father?? dazai cared at least a little about atsushi clearly, he let him and kyoka go to the light before he killed himself and set up mori to care for him. he knew atsushi would be upset after his death and accounted for that in his plan. hes not completely heartless and distant like he seems

he saw canonzais memories and set out to find atsushi and akutagawa and fabricate something similar to canon but why did make the changes he did? no way he saw canon universe and decided to switch atsushi and akutagawas positions for fun. did he see how akutagawa turned out in canon and decide he'd be better off not being raised in the mafia? was it out of curiosity about atsushis character and how he'd be if he was trained in the mafia? was it a decision in the moment he met akutagawa and decided to go with atsushi instead?

atsushi isn't as wholly internally pure as canon and fanon imply. when hes put in the environment he excels as a high ranking mafia member, killing people with seemingly no regret. yet he still finds and deeply cares for kyoka, and obviously cares for dazai (clearly shown when hes killing himself). canon akutagawa is a very lonely character, but even put in his place atsushi finds people to care about. so maybe there is some deep intrinsic love and care about him, even if he was trained or manipulated or grew to excel in his position in the mafia.

I'm still hung up on how dazai saw canonzais memories and decided to sacrifice even people canonzai cared about for odas sake. because other people got to have happy universes and oda only had that one? so even if he hurt atsushi, who canon him cares about, its okay bc hes happy in other universes and oda needs to be happy in at least one?

I dont remember much about beast soukoku, there really isn't much about them, but I do truly wonder why dazai didnt tell chuuya about the book. atsushi and akutagawa wouldnt have needed to be hurt so bad and hed be able to stay alive and personally protect odas universe. even if hes empathetically challenged and doesnt care much about using and hurting others, why wouldnt he prefer to personally know about and protect the universe? why does he trust leaving it to atsushi and akutagawa?

honestly i don't know why i wasn't thinking of this in the first place. i mean, of course a lot of the brothers would feel absolutely terrible falling. we know mammon looked up to lucifer a lot and has stated many times that he was with lucifer the whole way through when it came to his decision. he might be really trying to be there for his brothers and that's why he's not crying on his image. i'm really curious as to how he handles everyone, since it seems like he'll be butting heads with those that aren't happy with the outcome of their choice. i'm also curious how he'll deal with satan.

lucifer oh lucifer, where did your pride take you? i'm curious what his quote is talking about and honestly i can only assume that its dealing with lucifer and lilith. i mean, of course he feels terrible for keeping the lilith issue a secret, but i think what hurts the most early on is the fact that he had to tell his grieving brothers that they were to follow diavolo and that their eldest brother they risked it all for seemingly is completely on diavolos side. it must hurt all the more since the last person they were loyal to hurt them in the worst way possible.

levi and asmo seem miserable lol. i'm honestly really curious why them in particular seem to be regretting their choice? did they not know they would fall? it did seem like, at least in the flash back in lesson 15-16, that even lucifer wasn't aware he was a demon at first until it was pointed out to him. maybe they didnt realize the consequences would be so permanent? i wonder if they feel mislead, since they seem to hate it in the devildom.

Going through the motions

i love obey me, i love the brothers. what im abt to rant about is because i love the series so much and i really really don't want the same mistakes to be made. honestly, i would love if throughout a good majority of the game, the brothers to be dealing with a GOOD majority of their trauma and to still be going through it when we get sent back to the present. i want it to be ugly, gross and painful and i want to feel what i SHOULD HAVE felt during lesson 16. i want to feel the brothers struggling to come to terms with their own decisions, thoughts and differing opinions when it comes to major life altering decisions.

MC and their impact

i'm actually pretty okay with MC going back in time, I feel like there will be a lot of opportunities for more time for some of the other datables and side characters since the brothers will absolutely be a little busy dealing with everything going on. it's also really nice that we can, at least, comfort them even if it won't mean anything in the long term, they definitely deserve it :( . I'm a liiiittle worried they might try and have it affect the main, current storyline which would make the already messy timeline situation even messier in my opinion. i wouldn't mind like, an event or some mentions but reaaaaally just want the second game to be about making the characters have a more deeper characterization since the format and ever increasing cast makes it a little hard.

Set the scene here

The world she grew up on was . Lets just say not friendly to her or her mom

Theyre witches, like biologically. Not human. Theyre very similar to humans, but not actually human. The main difference is the blood, which unlike human blood is pinkish, kinda sparkly, and has magical properties. They can also see through time but those are person specific powers and not an overall thing like the blood

Lexax can see into the past (including other peoples pasts but only if shes touching them) her mom can see into the future

Lexax has tried to see into the future but her eyes temporarily exploded so she doesnt do that lmao

Before lexax was born her mom used a love potion on her dad and that cursed not only the relationship, but any child born out of it (meaning poor little lex)

Things go fine until lexax (then iris vae) turned 6. The people in the nearboy town got some kind of proof of what her mother had done, and . Well. You know the typical execution for witches right ?

With orchid (her mother) dead, the spell she had used on lexaxs father was broken. Because of this, he panicked, abandoned his poor already very traumatized child and fled the town.

With no one left to protect her, the kid had to learn how to survive on the streets, and FAST. And she did. Though not without consequences.

She became sharp, but bitter. Fear and rage drove pretty much her every action.

With her survival skills, she had to learn to steal . The theft, paired with no protection, had her getting beat fairly often. It wasnt until she was around 12-13 that it got Bad, but she could mostly patch herself up with the potions she could brew from her blood (the magical properties i mentioned)

Eventually, someone New showed up in the town. He saw this kid passed out from her wounds in the middle of the square, saw no one helping her, and decided "well damn clearly this kid has no one" and helped her.

When she came to, the man asked for her name. Trying to distance herself from the father that abandoned her, she gave him a new name she came up with on the spot. Axel.

He stuck around for a couple years, watching out for her, teaching her how to wield a weapon, teaching her how not to survive but to Live,

He taught her about worlds other than the one she lived in, about creatures called heartless, about keyblades

If you havent guessed already, the guy is xehanort

Except a much "kinder" version (to thsi day lexax doesnt know if it was an act she shed trust him or if it was real. Shell never get the answers she wants now)

When she was 14-15 ish, she came home to find her "dad" beaten half to death and fading fast. She was fully convinced he died in her arms, but when she returned from digging the grave, the body was gone. She didn't think twice about it, only assumed it was the townspeople taking away her chance at closure, like with her mother.

This was the final nail in the coffin for her to become fully closed off, bitter and angry and frankly would rather die than make any connections ever again

Not to mention is fully willing to kill, if it would protect herself.

Like 11 years later, heartless start popping up everywhere. While trying to take one out, she almost accidentally skewers some goofy lookin kid in a red jumpsuit with an oversized housekey.

Apparently, the townspeople had told the kid, sora, that she had summoned the heartless. Complete lies, she was the one who was keeping them at bay, but prejudice will have people believe anything.

It becomes clear pretty fast what happened, and sora and his friends end up growing really fast on her. A day or two after that, she and sora found themselves completely surrounded by heartless, with no end to them in sight.

She made sora run and leave her behind, sacrificing herself to hold back the tide so he could escape. She didnt stop fighting for a second, even as she watched them tear the heart from her chest.

When she came to, the heartless were gone, but strangely, so was all the rage and fear and sorrow she had relied on to keep her going for all those years. And for some reason, she ... didnt care.

For about a year, she went on like that. The townspeople largely left her alone now, as apparently she had been seen "die and come back"

It made them more afraid of her, but whatever worked.

Eventually, two men showed up at her house. One with a ponytail, and one that both, in a weird way reminded her of her "dead" father figure and also SUPREMELY creeped her out.

They offered her a way out, a new name -- lexax --, and a job as a weapon of sorts, and she took it. Anything was better than where she was.

She passed out when she agreed, and when she woke up, her vision was. Wrong. When she looked in the mirror, her left eye had been replaced. The new eye was red and had an x shaped pupil, and when she looked at herself, she could see every last one of her weaknesses. It was unnerving. Immediately she made herself an eyepatch to cover it, and changed up her appearance, a way to signify her new life. Her made her originally dark brown hair blonde, and shaved half her head. Why not right never too late for an emo phase

OH SHIT I FORGOT SOMETHING WHEN SHE WAS LIKE 15 SOMEONE TRIED TO KILL HER . They tried to burn her at the stake like her mom

She managed to kill her would be executioner and get away, but not without extreme burns on her legs and severe pyrophobia

ANOTHER THING I FORGOT at like age 16-17 for a few months she was able to go to the realm of darkness in her dreams. She ended up finding/making friends with/having a bisexual awakening over a girl there. One with blue hair and a keyblade.

But it wasnt long before she lost the ability to go there.

Anyway, her first day she gets paired up with some rehead guy. Something about "proving himself" after losing... someone. she was really not paying attention to anything that was being said unless it was being said to her directly

The guy doesnt seem too jazzed about it, but hey, neither is she.

They get their mission done, but last second get swarmed by a random hoard of heartless. It seems like theyll be fine, but then she realizes. This guy is fighting with *fire*. Lexax freaks out and bolts, so the guy has to go hunt her down

They have a little bit of a bonding moment, but shes not here to make friends so as soon as they get back she locks herself in her room

Over time, as much as she was trying not to, she ends up making friends with the redhead guy, along with the ponytail guy that originally came to get her, but ESPECIALLY demyx who is the only one who gets to be named here. Best friend privilege lol

Well. The main events of kh2 happen. Finding out about the demise about 2/3 of her friends but especially demyx, lexax goes a little. Apeshit. Initially she wasnt going to fight sora because he was her friend too, but after finding out he was the one that killed demyx, and being lied to abt him "being the one that killed axel" (she was purposely very much kept out of all the loops and lied to at every turn because that worked SO well with roxas and xion) (speaking of. She was made xv but no one knew why . If she tried to ask x*mnas he would just give her this look that really creeped her out until she left)

Anyway she vowed for revenge and hunted down sora when he went for his whole seige on tctnw

Problem was her whole rage thing made her sloppy. She ended up with a whole ass keyblade through her gut and was forced to hear soras side of the story as she laid on the ground half dead

Realizing how badly her head had been fucked with, she forgave him and wished him luck going forward, then forced him to leave her, since she wanted to die alone

Before she could die though she realized she had One healing potion left. It brought her back from the brink of death, but not by much.

By the time lexax had caught up with sora and co, the only one left was x*mnas. So, she does what any reasonable person does and shows up to the fight, claiming that bc it was just the two of them now that there wasnt an organization left for her to betray and she was just there to watch the fireworks. After all, she never fuckin liked him anyway.

In a show of power, he attacks her by surprise and force chokes her to death. She didnt get any words out but she Did flip him off on her way out

She comes to back in her old home, and while she cant use dark corridors anymore, she Does have a form of teleportation she can use, provided she has the right ingredients for the potion + has been where shes trying to go

So she goes somewhere she always thought was peaceful and calm, which, frankly, is something she fuckin needs at this point -- twilight town.

She also decides to keep her name and new appearance. If she came back, her friends might too, and it would be better if they could actually recognize her when they did.

Just a heads up beyond this point is when the romancy stuff starts to kick in bc she deserves love so much forever poor woman has experienced The Horrors for 27 years let her Rest (oh . Yeah . I should mention i hc kh2 to take about a year in itself. 6 ish months at the very least there was so much happening in it its the longest kh game by far) oh yeah also now that shes no longer a nobody the red eye is gone so shes just kinda normal now

Anyway shes minding her own business in her little house in tt and she hears a voice that she hadnt expected to hear again and quite literally falls out of her 2nd story window in shock. Dw she lands in the bushes shes fine shes survived way worse

But when she wrestles herself Out of the bushes, there he is, one of her friends that is Supposed to be dead

She had told herself that if she came back, they probably did too, but it wasn't much of a hope. More of a bandaid on the bullet wound that was the despair she was feeling over it

Anyway she sees axel (or lea now but how would she know that) and shes just. Standing there. Because thats all she can think to do . Shes in shock but she manages to say his name and he turns around and she just fucking. LAUNCHES herself at him in the biggest fuckin hug shes ever given

Yknow at least until her legs turn to jelly and she starts Bawling because no one has ever come back before

They catch up and then eventually the start of kh3 happens

Sora shows up and warns her the org is back but doesnt mention xehanort

No one knows her connection to him except xigbar who is keeping his mouth shut about all this because its funnier to just watch it all happen

Well guess who shows up in her house to try and sway her over to his side

Lexax feels Every Emotion At Once on finding out her long lost father figure wasnt actually dead. She goes to hug him but last second, surprising both herself and xehanort, FUCKING DECKS HIM GET HIS ASS LEXAX

All the joy she felt at realizing he was alive turned to rage in an instant when she realized that he abandoned her after he PROMISED he would get her out of that world, knowing full well the amount of danger she was constantly in

This turned to even more rage when she found out that technically he was xemnas and he fucking killed her

She went apeshit and kicked him out of her house, as she should

So then immediately he sent in xigbar, because they were friends so hes probably got a better chance at swaying her

Well shes overjoyed to see him too

But then something clicks about a reaction hed had to her in the past and she realizes. He knew abt xehanort the whole damn time so now shes pissed at him too

Not quite so much, he doesnt get decked, but shes mad nonetheless

This is when she officially joins up with sora.

But because of that, theres a last ditch effort from Daddy Issues to try and bring her over

And of course, its the most logical move anyone can use

Fucking. Remotely EXPLODE lexaxs left eye and have the red one grow back in its place ! It doesnt have its old powers anymore, but instead has a new function -- he can watch her every move, and she knows it.

Anyway she tells sora about this and he sends her to radiant garden because if anyone can help its the biggest emo nerd with the most lab unsafe haircut ever ienzo

Well. He cant help.

So lexax, being the badass she is, decides to take it upon herself and fix the problem.

By gouging out her own eye.

After this, she decides that xehanort needs to be dealt with, and he needs to be dealt with NOW. Fuck all his plans for whatever

So she sends a message not only to sora (by the way i forgot to mention her nickname for him, she calls him starboy :] ) but to lea as well that shes taking him on herself and if she doesnt contact them in like 10 minutes to assume shes dead

The element of surprise worked in her favor, but not enough to kill him like shed planned. Instead, she cut off one of his arms. Before she could get a second swing in, he got her in a move similar to how xemnas had killed her

But, learning from her mistakes, she had a teleportation potion locked in her teeth in case of this exact scenario, and was able to bite down on it and get herself out of there before she died, with only some heavy bruising around her windpipe

Lexax girlboss moments

Fast forward to the scene with everyone in the mysterious tower bc like hell she isnt getting involved in that (somewhere in there theres a reunion with demyx and now shes One Happy Lexax. Also he lives in her house now (meaning he just kinda showed up and she never told him to leave))

She and aqua have a whole pointing spiderman meme moment like "HOLY SHIT YOURE REAL???" and also she comes clean to everyone abt her ties with xehanort and everyone gets a little freaked out abt that, and rightfully so but its still a little insulting its pretty clear no one wants him dead more than her

During the whole fuckin battle sequence where Everyone Dies she focuses almost solely on keeping lea safe . She lost him once, no way in hell shes gonna do it again thats her Fuckign Boyfriend

When the maze shit initially happened, the L&L duo got separated, and lexax ended up fighting xigbar

During this fight, she manages to make a sort of whip out of tangible darkness. Xigbars like "dont you think youre getting too op lol" and lexax hits him with the "i had to take out my own eye i think i earned this" and it comes out. He had no fucking idea what she had been put through. And considering they are still friends, hes a little bit Shook about it

Like he hides it well but theres a certain air of horror to his reaction that you can tell hes a little fucked up over it

And, deciding he doesnt wanna fight her anymkre, just fuckin. Teleports her over to The Boyf.

She meant to stay by leas side during this and protect him, but as soon as she saw x*nmas she got Revenge Tunnelvision and went all out attackjng him and only him.

Her sword shatters in the fight, leaving her with just a jagged stump of metal to attack with . Fucked up

When x*mnas goes to attack lea, lexax goes a Little Bit Apeshit and tries to attack him with said jagged stump of metal, only for (in the most anime way possible) it to turn into a whole ass keyblade

But then she immediately catches saixs claymore in the guts and gets flung into the wall and left to bleed out in the dirt

Maybe dont wear a crop top to war next time, lexax

Fast forward to right before everyone care bear stares xehanort with their keyblades. Turns out, he had replaced his lost arm with one made of darkness, not unlike the whip lexax had made

Like father like daughter yknow

Well just to taunt him, lexax cusses him out and shows off her new keyblade, because the main reason he had left her was her inability to manifest one

Anyway fast forward Again to his Defeat Defeat

While the wayfinder trio is having their moment with force ghost eraqus lexax ends up clinging to xehanort and sobbing, saying that she "hates him so much"

All he can do is hug her back and say "i know"

Then following his Peaceful Fuckoff With His Ghost Ex, she has a full on breakdown. Screaming, crying, punching the ground. He hurt everyone so much, he hurt HER so much, why should he get to have such a peaceful happy ending???

She tells everyone she needs to be alone for a bit and fucks off back to her original world for a few hours, and comes back to her house in like the middle of the night

Cue the epilogue cutscene era

Lexax is genuinely so much happier now. Found family is the best drug out there /j

She doesnt live alone, instead in her house its her, lea, demyx, isa And xion

She tricked out the basement into the coolest room a 15 year old girl could ask for for her (with the help of the boys in the house + roxas) (demyx didnt help. but he did buy the pizza)

Shes happy and gets to have soft domestic moments and is jsut!! Not being traumatized for the first time like ever!!! Look at her go!!

Fans created this realm of purity around Octavia where no one can criticize a single one of her actions or just be frustrated with her without being insulted and accused of "babying Stolas". But I'm not afraid of being honest or making hot takes that will upset a lot of I'm Literally OctaviaTM fan accounts.

Octavia is not flawless. Octavia can be criticized and can be in the wrong, and you are allowed to be frustrated with her. Damn, even Brandon dislikes her (which caused several fans to harrass him for it, yall so fucking insane). She is a 17yo girl, she is a young woman, not child. She can (and does) make mistakes, she can be cruel, she can be unfair.

Fans call Stolas selfish, a "bad father" and a lot of worse shit for ONCE IN HIS LIFE standing up to himself and choosing the smallest bit of happiness he was capable of (escaping his abuser and getting involved with someone he actually likes, and truly embracing his sexuality for the first time which seems to be a real trigger point to some fans, me thinks some of yall just dont like the gays), but are mad if anyone make the simplest complain about "hey maybe Via should've hear him out and try to think about his side of the story, use some critical thinking to realize Stella was never a good person to her father and etc etc". Like if not treating Via as a flawless angel and Stolas as the mean father is the same as wishing Via to be beheaded. Like grow the fuck up. All of you judging Stolas would do THE SAME if you were in his situation. Imagine living your whole life to others, for others, forced to live in a masquerade while being brutally abused every day and still be judged the worst personTM because your teenage child (again, traumatized AND affected by the same abuse you've been through) misundertood your intentions.

As amazingly pointed in this post, Via is 17 years old. She knows what is right or wrong, oh boy she knows, if she didnt know she wouldnt even be angry at her father. She said to his face that she is upset that he saved Blitz's life. Okay, you don't want to understand Stolas because boohoo daddy issues evil owl, but at least think of Blitz's side. Imagine seeing your lover's daughter angry that your life was saved. Your life, that is systematically treated as worthless by the same class Via is part of. Just think for a moment. And Blitz still sees Via as his future daughter! If you sympathize with Blitz for being unfairly hated by his sister, why can't you do the same with Stolas and Via's situation?

Literally I've seen so many people saying in one post: "i hope millie aborts her baby because no woman should be forced to have an unwanted child", and then in the next post "how dare stolas save blitz's life, he chose him over Via (a child that he was forced to have! btw!), he's a bad father" like how fucking dare you. Why are you so shamelessly hypocritical. I AM pro-choice btw, and yes Stolas did wrong things towards Via, but like, be fucking serious. No one's life should be limitated to their relationships. As much as i can understand where Via is coming from, and her feelings are valid, she doesn’t see her dad as a living person outside of just being her father. And that isn’t right. It’s especially not right seeing just how many people feel absolutely no empathy for him.

“She was just a child having to endure all that!!” Okay, and how old was Stolas when he had to marry an abusive girl and have a kid of his own, exactly? At least he gave Via a chance to have a good childhood, he didn’t have one. He didn’t have anything except for his duties to carry out.

And while it’s heartbreaking that Via sees herself as an obligation, that’s literally what she was supposed to be. Though that doesn’t mean that was how he saw her. She was what saved him, what made him endure all the abuse, what kept him going.

But sometimes that’s not enough, he had NO ONE to confide in and couldn’t put his frustrations on his own kid (because he’s a good father, despite what some of you would like to believe, clearly you didn’t grow up with a parent trying to guilt you by traumadumping when you can barely understand it), so he also NEEDED the pills.

The thing is, i also had that mentality towards my mom for dealing with depression UNTIL i started experiencing it myself. Because it’s so hard to realize that your parents are also human beings, since they’re supposed to protect you, they’re supposed to have everything figured out, to be the shoulder you cry on.

But if i see another dumbass claim that he CHOSE to leave and made the wrong decision in Mastermind, i need you out of this fandom. The whole point of that was that he had no choice, was he supposed to throw away the man he fell in love with, his first friend, his first time that wasn’t for procreation, and the one who liberated him? Stolas is allowed to care for more than one person, and he deserves to be loved romantically by someone.

You’re being too harsh on Stolas because for whatever reason you hate an abuse victim finally having a say in how to live for once in their lives, adding on top of that the weird, underlying homophobia in some of your criticisms for him.

Also i have a bad taste in my mouth from Via only seemingly hating Stolas, despite having SEEN how shitty Stella is. Sure, she doesn’t know the full extent of the abuse, but she’s heard the yelling, she’s seen the throwing, the ridiculing, the insensitivity. And most likely that woman neglected Via as much as possible, because she also didn’t choose to have her, but unlike Stolas she didn’t give a fuck to take responsibility regardless. (Reminding you of the “You get up” comment from Loo Loo Land). This was all happening before the cheating, so that’s not an excuse for her behavior (not that the cheating was, but at least Via would have been able to reason with her reaction to it).

It’s a complicated situation and it’s so shitty to put all the blame on Stolas, he tried so much for his family, but it was never going to be enough, because he’s gay. I’m glad he got out of that marriage.

Honestly, had i been given all those responsibilities at his age in a loveless marriage, i would’ve gone insane. I wouldn’t have been kind to my child, the cause of my shit life. But he never saw her as a weight on his shoulders, he has so much love for Via.

yn’s side previously answered here !! once again, i’ll remain neutral regarding this discourse so i can also prevent any spoilers and also people are 50/50. but my two cents about satoru on this:

writing abt his downfall made me feel sorry for him especially as it’s affected his overall mental health . although she wasn’t aware abt him being suicidal after she left, it was horrible on gojo’s part to be deprived of his own child esp by means of faking an abortion (which again, like i said, will come haunt her next season). he definitely deserves better than that, but then again they also both hurt each other.

at the beginning of their marriage, he insulted her to her face, disrespected her, treated her horribly, blatantly cheated on her, shamelessly neglected her. now by the end of their marriage, she abandoned and pretty much ghosted him, lied about the abortion so he has no reasons to hold onto her, kept the baby away for some time thinking it’s for the best, disallowed any communication between them. they obviously are very different situations and have very different impacts, but that just shows that yn (like gojo) also has the capability to destroy him even twice as much as he destroyed her. was it acceptable? definitely not. and she’s not proud. neither is gojo proud abt his behavior in the first few months of their marriage. they make mistakes, they hurt each other, one may be cruel than the other, or maybe not—either way, this is satoru’s realization that he is not always the person to blame. that he isn’t an antagonist to his story bc yn can also be as selfish and flawed like him. that she, too, can make inexcusable decisions like he did.

This is very weird thing to ask cause abuse is still abuse and i know that you are being sarsactic by writing this, instead of actually asking, i will still explain what i thought about it anyway, anon/@stluciasstudentjail / @bakugou-sucks who seems to dislike Tohru being friends with Akito (edit; and used my comment and this post to make fun of it/for harrassment, i did edit again cause of harrassments, I didnt write this analysis for you, its for me and for people who think.)

First of all, i am very well aware of what slapstick is. Its kind of violence you are meant to laugh and ignore. Which is what we are supposed to do with Kagura beating Kyo scenes.

And this is my personal opinion but i think 'slapstick is stupid' and doesnt work well, especially in a stories about abuse. Because there is no such a thing that violence you are meant to laugh in real life. Toxic actions are toxic actions, violence is violence. You cant just put one as good and other as bad.

Especially the way Kagura beats Kyo was so extreme and unnecessary, every time i saw, i felt realy uncomfortable with it. Not because its abuse but because its supposed to be funny. Kagura is supposed to be one of the 'good guys' and 'close' to Kyo but here we go. They were childhood friends and Kagura loves/cares for Kyo but just because you care someone doesnt mean you can treat them this way.

I hate it because i know that when violence are meant to be funny, most of the time, stories doesnt adress it. I love making analyze and i hate ignoring things. I want wrong things to be adressed. I knew that Kagura will get away with this. Kyo never mad at her, she never really feel bad about it.

But yknow what? In real life, pyhsically beaten by someone is not funny and it traumatize you which doesnt happen with Kyo and kagura for some reason, lol. I will never understand how people find watching someone beating another is funny.

If Kagura was boy and Kyo was girl, this relationship would get more dislike from people but i believe in gender equality and just because she is girl, it doesnt make it okay. The fact that he didnt react back only because she is girl...its not okay. He said he doesnt want it but she was forcing herself onto him cause she doesnt respect his thoughts that much. (This is why Kyo fell into Tohru cause she was the first person who actually respect him as invidual.)

Apperantly, in 90s, girl beating their boyfriend trope was popular, thats probably why Kagura beating Kyo thing happens. But most of the time, it was too extreme and too unnecessary, of course i woud feel uncomfortable about it because Kyo didnt deserve that. If you guys wanna be ignorant, okay but that doesnt mean i have to be too.

But then lets look at the case with Akito.

The words Akito said to Kyo is awfull and she intentionally trying to trigger his trauma but yknow what is the weird thing is?

Why would Kyo care what Akito said? Who the hell Sohma Akito is? Because Akito is not their parents, she isnt always with them, she just sometimes meets with them, talks and they leave. Especially Kyo, compared to zodiac members, he hardly ever interact with Akito.

So basically Akito is almost equal to a stranger in Sohma Kyo's life. And there is literally no reason to Kyo to care for what Akito said. Basically if it was real life, Akito's words wouldnt affect Kyo at all because Akito is no different than middle school bullies. She is just so childish and obvious that its hard to take it seriously. She is also not pyhsically or mentally strong either, Kyo is stronger than her.

But then story gives a 'logical reason' why Akito can affect zodiac, why Akito's words are so important for them. Kazuma explains that its related to god-zodiac bond, basically some kind of supernatural power. (Except Kana loosing her mind case and that doesnt make sense at all cause of many reasons.)

This is why Akito's word 'i dont need you' traumatized Rin more than her parents did. This is why Yuki was traumatized deeply. Its some kind of supernatural thing, not the power of Akito's manipulation or whatever, its just supernatural power. This is why little thing Akito will say suddenly traumatize zodiac members and they hate it and wanna escape from it.

And Akito's locking Kyo up again has nothing to do with Akito either. It was tradition before even Akito was born. As family head, she just continue with the same rules. Even if it wasnt Akito, Kyo would still be locked up.

Why Akito do this? We know the reason. She doesnt want zodiac to abandon her nad she thinks this is the only way that she has to force them stay and locking Kyo up was part of it.

And remember since Akito's actions were portrayed as bad by narrative, she later face consequences of her actions, she face it and punished for it. She doesnt get away unlike Kagura or many other characters. I am sick of people's obsessing with Akito even though she is the only character who gets punished for her wrong actions, story's adressing her wrong actions doesnt make her worse, that makes her better.

And saying "Kagura is acting like this cause she is boar, it doesnt count", then with same logic, the only reason Akito's abuse is effective is cause of Supernatural power, then what she did doesnt count either because that weird power is the only reason that turned Akito's words to "abuse". We are saying its abuse cause even they didnt mean it or its not their fault that they born with this power, it still effected someone else's life. Also that doesnt change the fact that Kagura still forced herself onto Kyo and that made Kyo really uncomfortable which has nothing to do with being boar.

Basically your answer;

What Akito did to Kyo is not same as what Kagura did to Kyo. Kagura cared about Kyo and she didnt actually mean to hurt him but Kagura's abuse on Kyo was worse than Akito's abuse on Kyo. Kyo was clearly more uncomfortable about Kagura’s existence than Akito and he had many problems outside of again Akito. The only reason Akito's abuse on Kyo was more effective is not because of power of manipulation or whatever, its because of some weird supernatural power. Otherwise, this doesnt make sense at all.

i love these tags - i haven't finished p3 but the haru stuff, yeah absolutely my personal interpretation is that the main reason why haru doesn't forgive akechi for killing her father is that she no longer got to deal with him on her own terms. like you said, this was about her asserting her autonomy her justice, freeing herself with her powers, only for her act of liberation to be co-opted by yet another man. moreover, now she never gets to see his change of heart, to see if he at least talks to her and apologizes for what he did to her - even if she couldn't fully accept it, even if she still begrudges him for all his terrible misdeeds, at least she'd get to choose what to do with that. it should've been HER active journey to navigate these complex feelings, but that opportunity is ripped away; now the only reality she can negotiate is a shitty dead dad. ALSO now the fallout of her father's actions all falls on her shoulders, since he's no longer around to face the consequences. he never gets to experience the theme of "fates worse than death", and instead haru has to clean up the mess...

i seriously wish persona handled the abusive dad stuff more gracefully, like between haru and yusuke it's such a shame more nuance and depth isn't wrought from those storylines - how you can be torn between the fact this person raised you and at times even cared for you, but still was a shit person overall. finding closure about that (if ever) is so complicated, and that journey could've been so emotionally engaging. it also just would've been more interesting for this theme to get fleshed out because of the parallels between these two and akechi, how their desire for validation from their dads was twisted and manipulated for other people's gains. my current take on haru and akechi's dynamic is like, haru is both firm about justice and kind about injustice - she'd feel the same anger towards shido as she feels towards her own dad, and she'd feel sympathy for akechi. not enough to just forgive him for the injustice he did to her by stealing her agency - but enough to recognize that he himself had a lot of agency stolen. being your dad's puppet hurts a lot and they both understand that pretty uniquely.

Persona 5 and to some extent the fandom tries to make us feel bad that Goro Akechi killed Haru's father but like that guy is basically the fast food equivalent of elon musk complete with space obsession, disrespecting his daughter, and workers abuse, and also his palace gave me a migraine so frankly im glad his ass is dead everyone say thank you akechi

WU SUCKS but not the reason you think

I'd like to preface by saying Wu has made a lot of mistakes and should be held accountable. But like the main arguments against Wu be like.

1: Morro

2: Traumatizing kids

3: Keeping secrets

4: Mot treating his nephew like is damn nephew.

5: Flirting with his brothers wife.

And the thing about that needs talked about. 1:Morro. First off getting kids hopes is not cool. It can be detrimental to development depending on the age of the child. BUT. Not a single soul told Morro to train tirelessly for 60+ years after his death to take revenge and be the green ninja. Absolutly no one. Wu had compassion for his failings and wanted to show Morro he could still he great without being the green ninja. But the little brat ran tf off and got trapped and died. And he got cursed, how- we dont know. But its implied that it's either intentional entrapment or you have to be a terrible person, guess which category he probably falls into. Mind you Wu also told our OGs that they could also be the green ninja and none of them went off the rails to settle some invisible score. Morro made his choices and he made shit ones. Wu was an influence but not the problem. Morro is unstable, dramatic, and holds grudges Wu didnt cause that.

2: the traumatic experiences the nina go through are also not exactly his fault. He didnt just pick them off the streets. THERE WAS A PROPHECY. Ok? Yall with me. Fate isnt uncontrolled by anyone the ninja needed to be trained to help Lloyd fight the Overlord. That wasnt his decision. And yall act like the ninja couldn't leave whenever they wanted to. He didnt gaslight them or belittle them in anyway that wasnt for teaching. Please bring me receipts if you think otherwise. I do admit he could help a little more, be more clear, but when has a old magic teacher character ever been straightforward. With that logic fuck Dumbledore, and Gandalf, and any wise old teacher that goes to find chosen one who once again are chosen by fate not the master himself. Yall literally cant blame Wu for Child's Play and you cant blame Wu for their experience with Nadakhan either. The enemies that go out of there way to attack the ninja are not a direct cause if Wu himself. Usually. It be like blaming Garmadon for Chen. Yes they had history but it's still not his fault

3: Secrets. I will admit there is next to no reason for keeping secrets from the ninja. Considering history always has kind of score to settle. But considering his age and the apparent imprisonment or death of his past enemies there no way to predict every problem that comes back to screw him over. The Time Twins for example. Yes they came back for Wu. But he did remove their powers and separated them over 20+ years ago. They were not exactly threats to his new students now were they? Again with Aspheera, who was literally locked in a tomb why take the time to educate the ninja on a problem he had no idea was going to come back for him. Same with Morro to a more confusing degree. MORRO DIED. How was he to prepare the ninja for that? Yes please tell me how they were supposed to prepare for a dead guy. I'll wait.........k. he should be more forthcoming with the ninja, about things he knows could harm them, like the Serpentine after Lloyds released them, Chen, the Overlord, the effects of Travelers Tea, Tomorrow's Tea, Oni, Etc. But most of the time the ninja go and do it first then wonder why Wu didn't warn them.

4: His nephew. Wow his parenting sucks. Morro is not his damn child let's start there. Comparing their relationship is unfair. Wu cared for Morro the way he cares for Kai and Nya. He never accentuates a paternal relationship with then. Cause they are students, students he has to train with he intent to send them out onto dangerous battle fields and mind games. He was alone so yes it looks different but it's also a leap to just assume that Wu viewed Morro as his own despite treating him the exact same way as his 6 other students. Now back to Lloyd. Why didnt he get his nephew from Darkleys where it was known he ran away from multiple times? I DONT KNOW. No one does. That is a bad move I can only theorize about. Maybe Misako said something about staying away, maybe he wasnt kept in the loop about his nephews whereabouts due to idk KICKING HIS FATHER INTO HELL. C'mon yall. Now in the later seasons my best guess is that he doesnt know how to differentiate his nephew from the chosen one side and the goofy child side. Hes never had a child and his early relations with Lloyd were scarce and when Lloyd came to live with him. It's not due to some familial obligation, destiny literally called for it. Putting some definite strain on their relationship. I'm not excusing it he should try better, but he'd have to build a relationship from nothing and most people know their immediate family upon birth or during childhood which is not the case here. Wu treats his nephew more like a vessel of power than a person which isnt cool but knowing that the kid might not come back after every fight is a good damper on happy relationships is it not?

5: Misako. Good lord I don't have to explain this one. No excuse. It shouldn't be happening. BUT. After Garmadons death she was a free woman as gross as it is. It's more a flaw on her than it is him she chose to have a baby with one brother and still try to get with the other. And I know it takes two to tango but dont get mad at the idiot that the cheater is cheating with. Be mad at the cheater. The thing people really dont get about love triangles. The "other guy" brings on the questions/options but the person who cant choose or screws with both parties is the one in the wrong. Lloyd seems ok with it. Because Tommy said so. I dont particular give two shits about his take on the show half the time. If Lloyd were actively against it the Wu would probably stop. If the Fsm family acted like a normal ass family we probably wouldnt be here. But their priorities are a little screwy compared to typical nuclear families. Not an excuse just some perspective

NOW, why he is a bad character despite all of those arguments. he chooses to train soldiers rather than care for impressionable teens. Yes the situation called for it but the pressure could he alleviated if he decided to actually help before the world was on fire. He chooses to teach by experience than be upfront. Which works sometimes but not when actual lives are at stake. His trial by fire teaching works but the possiblity it could go wrong is to big to be brushed aside. His seemingly unreachable vault of empathy is hard to swallow. He rarely actually feels things for other people, his lack of enthusiasm when they pull through something hurts to watch. His lack of empathy about raising his nephew to attempt to kill his father is frightening. The pride he demonstrates by choosing not to disclose his past until it's too late is dangerous. He doesnt directly put down the ninja unless he has to and its more implied than anything and is on his students and this fandom for taking it so harshly. He trusts them a lot because he doesnt see them as kids anymore. They are warriors and it was necesary. He should have more compassion. He should be more straight forward, he should try to act like a person and not some ethereal being of elsewhere that doesn't have time to appease feelings or care about people until after hes wronged them. His values are off kilter sometimes which is whatever until it starts to hurt people

But yall need to stop blaming him for other people actions. Morro was a mess to begin with. His problems are in the past because he took care of them already. Misako came onto him. (He should have resisted but he didnt start shit she did). He needs to try to be an uncle alongside being a teacher. He needs to act like a fucking person more than the infinite cache of wisdom and unforeseen unused power that he acts like. And also it's a kids show. How many children think the way yall do?, we're teens/YAs we're reading into things. A LOT which makes everything more complicated. Comments rebuttals open. There's a collection of little mistakes hes made along the way that dont fit into these categories but these are the main reasons I know people hate him and the little things add fuel to the fire.
