Post 1: Introduction
Hello, Readers,
My first experience with poetry--or at least the first I can remember--began when I was eleven years old. My mom still had her high school copy of Immortal Poems of the English Language, a poetry anthology edited by the poet Oscar Williams. She was a nurse who often worked long, difficult hours, but if she was in the right mood, she'd dig out her copy of Immortal Poems and read to my brothers and me. Her favorite were the British Romantic poets: Wordsworth, Coleridge, Byron, Shelley, and Keats.
This experience I mentioned above remains one of my most vivid childhood memories. It was stormy night, and we had lost power. In the flickering candlelight, she read the entirety of Coleridge's "The Rime of The Ancient Mariner." Though I was too young to really appreciate or even understand what Coleridge was getting at, I remember being amazed at the sounds and rhythms of the poem, it's forlorn-sounding ballad meter, and the idea of a sinner condemned to wander the earth for all eternity to tell his tale to anyone who would listen.
Childhood moments like this one that laid the foundation for my love of poetry, however, I did not take to poetry until much later in life. Throughout high school, I cared more for prose--short stories and novels. I didn't "get" poetry, or really care for it. About halfway through my undergraduate education, I decided to take a survey course in British literature. When I looked at the reading list for this course, I was surprised to see that almost every assigned text was verse. I remember the course began with William Blake's "The Garden of Love" and ended with Seamus Heaney's "Digging." I almost dropped the course, but I decided to stick it out. This decision changed my life.
I quickly discovered that I loved poetry! I just had never had a great teacher of poetry, someone who is passionate about form, meter, and rhythm, and cared for the effects of grammar and syntax on the reader as much as he cared for the philosophy and historical contexts informing the poem. He also read poetry with real emotion, conviction, and passion--something I had not encountered since my mother read to me as a child.
I became obsessed with the works of Keats in this course, and suffice it to say that I was hooked. I changed my major from History to English at the end of the semester.
I took many more classes with this instructor, and each one of them was verse-centered. Out of the 7 or 8 courses I had with him, I can count on one hand the amount of prose that we read. Together, we covered all the major periods of British poetry, and by the time I graduated, I had built up a substantial base of knowledge about poetry.
Without my first teacher--my mother--and this second teacher many years later, I do not think I would be here with you all today. For many years, I worked blue-collar jobs and drifted aimlessly. Even when I decided to begin college (and for quite a while after), I had no clue about what I wanted to do. I am eternally grateful to my teachers for drawing this love of verse out of me and lighting my path.
Some of my favorite poets are John Donne, Percy Shelley, John Keats, Robert Browning, Matthew Arnold, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Emily Dickinson, W.B. Yeats, Thomas Hardy, T.S. Eliot, and Wallace Stevens.
I know very little about contemporary poetry, so I am excited to read these poets in this course. Maybe I will discover a few new favorites.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading. I look forward to our time together this semester.

Regarding The Camera:
The other day I had snuck out of the family nest to go on a small late night nature walk. It was a peaceful night and I watched the stars burn small holes in the sky. Long dead lights guiding me through the darkness. I had been enjoying the soft breeze and the ever-present sound of our local abandoned church's old bell when I suddenly heard a shriek pierce through the blanket of moonlit bliss. I would like to say I leapt to my feet and rushed to their aid, but alas, I am no hero...
I did, however, in fact leap to my feet. But, rather than sprinting into action I hid amongst The Trees (Usually a poor idea in most cases unless Those That Dwell Behind Leaf and Vine are fond of you.) and waited for the horrible noises to end. Well, let me rephrase that, I tried to wait for the noises to end.
I do not know what came over me, I slowly stepped out from behind The Trees and began to follow the noise. It felt, how do I say, Of Great Importance. As if I had been waiting a very long time for this day and never truly knew it. Perhaps whatever I was to encounter that night had been preordained for time incalculable. Regardless, I slowly crept my way beneath The Bridge and followed The Path until I arrived at The Source of The Noise.
Nothing. There was nothing there, I stood alone on a dirt path surrounded by fields and gazed out into the black oblivion around me, knowing it hid horrors beyond mere human comprehension. Perhaps not in this exact moment, but if I stayed too long that terrible moment would arrive at my feet like the lapping waves of some abominable alien ocean I was not prepared to face.
I was tense, maybe a little disappointed as well, but most of all I was fully on guard. I scanned the area one last time and to my luck, discovered The Camera.
It was a small handheld camcorder with some strange device plugged into it. Now, I am not very knowledgeable in the realm of cameras and other recording devices. My family and our church believe that physical or digital recordings can capture the essence of one's soul, therefore, I took the camera regardless of their warnings. I had to, how else would I be able to uncover the events behind The Noise?
I took The Camera back to the family nest and thankfully found it still had a charge! I hid away within my safe place and attempted to go over The Footage. It did take an unfortunate amount of time to understand how The Camera worked but I was finally able to see what the previous wielder had recorded.
At the start of the footage it seemed like it was mostly The Man Who Held The Camera walking through The Woods and conversing with some other person, other times it was videos building an altar to whom they call The Mother Night, who I suppose would be The Goddess Nyx based on my observings. I continued watching through The Footage and as it continued it became more, ah, "messed up"(?) I suppose the term may be Corrupted, however I am not entirely sure of the exact terminology. Over time it seemed like the footage flowed together into a garbled mess, one moment indecipherable from another, the time of events seemingly out of order. Inevitably the last recorded video was of some kind of concert (Looked very fun I might add, though I have never been to a concert) and eventually flowed into footage of some kind of Creature. Yes my Dear Reader, A legitimate encounter with a Non-Human Entity!
Oh I wish I could convey just how excited I am about this! True, Hard evidence has fallen directly into MY hands! Oh Frabjous day! Finally I have been given a sign that my research and my sweat-soaked exegesis has not been for naught!
This is the first image of this Creature of The Night! It seems to be capable of distorting and "corrupting" footage upon encountering it. It seems to be covered in some kind of fur or fluff and has two black antenna hanging from its forehead.
It has a similar stature to a man but seems hunched and, if I dare say, Bug-Like. It seems clearly predatory and actively dangerous. Judging from where it was standing in the footage early on (Img.1) it seems to be drawn to light sources. Perhaps this is a trait it developed to more easily find Human-Sized prey? perhaps it is an accidental sensory overload caused by a nocturnal creature's superior Night Vision being overwhelmed by the brightness of the light?
I am unsure, however, it is clear that this being is something to be wary of when traveling by night. Atop this knowledge, I believe it is safe to assume an accusation upon what this entity is.
Homo lepidoptera, or by its common name...
The Mothman.
This is the Final Shot from the Encounter Video. This is the final moments of a direct confrontation with something unknown that may or may not have harmed, taken, or killed this individual.
I will not be reporting this to the Authorities, they are not to be trusted, are borderline useless, and would obviously not believe me if I were to come to them with these images and warn them of a "Mothman Attack". I know this is real, I know this thing is truly out there. I heard it, I have seen the raw footage.
My Dear Reader, This Is Reality.
I will continue to look into this person and their encounter. I plan on retracing their steps and hopefully finding more evidence behind The Mothman or potentially other Unknown Beings.
To end this post I would like to propose a Theory.
I have a post I will be uploading soon regarding what I label "Anatomical Signals" and will discuss them in greater length, however, I believe that humanity's feeding of The Mothman Concept may have finally hit a critical point and managed to materialize this being into our Physical Realm. The Mortal Realm. No longer merely a Signal, but rather a Living Physical Entity.
This is where I will leave you Dear Reader. Please do stay safe, take heed to this knowledge and Beware The Night.

âââ
Bennett was, to put it simply, confused.
He had just finished a mission with you, being your support the whole entire way through. There had been an offering that had been posted on the tavernâs walls in dark, smudged text that caught his eye at an earlier time. It read that whoever could get rid of the new pop-up hilichurl camp that blocked the path to Liyue would receive a grand sum of Mora. Course, running low on money, Bennett had decided to take up the offer. They would be easy enough to take down, just a simple slash of his sword and a few burns here and there could get the job done in no time. However, there was a problem.
No one would come with him.
Bennett knew that he was very...loud. And he was energetic. And annoying. And, though he hated to admit it...he was unlucky.
Everything seemed stacked up against him. Everyone he turned to in the tavern took a simple glance at him and rejected the offer with no further questions asked. He would try to convince them, but they would simply get more annoyed at his stubbornness and shoo him away with a flick of a hand or some splash of beer to the face. Itâs not like he could take the older adventurers out either, they could barely walk on their own two feet. They were so old that they certainly would have shriveled up in the sun if he brought them along. So there that option went, leaving him with practically nothing else to turn to.
But then, if he had no one to go with him, what would happen? Would he continue to be stuck in that tavern? No, he wouldnât allow himself to waste away like that. He was meant to be out there, in a world that could supply him with the thrill and rush that his heart yearned for. The boy desired to be just as great of an adventurer as the ones who came before him, or perhaps, dare he dream, even greater than them. Bennett desired to be a legend. But being a legend could not be done alone, even if that was what Bennett determined he would forever be, deep in the back of his brain.
Which is why you were such an anomaly.
You were the last person he spoke to that night. He was a complete mess. His shirt was damp with beer and some white wine, his white locks were a birds nest with the goggles sliding off slowly, and his eyes looked devoid of life as he took a deep inhale and they brightened up again. This was his last chance. You were the one who was either going to make or break this plan.
âHello stranger! I am the great Bennett, and I was wondering if you would be able to help assist me with a mission that was posted on the tavern walls. Itâs about the hilichurl camp by Liyue! Although I am rather strong, I need some help so itâs done more efficiently and faster. Iâm even willing to split the Mora with you that we make out of it! What do you say?â Bennett recited his lines again, as if he was in an interview of sorts. His leafy green eyes watched as you scrunched up your eyebrows, as if thinking and examining him. Your face was blank other than that, lips in a straight line and hand cupping your cheek. Bennett found it to be quite terrifying. It was such an intimidating look, in fact, that he was about to ask you to forget about it before you spoke first.
âSure.â You stated simply, a smile forming on your face as you crossed your arms.
âAhhh, understood, Iâll get goi- WAIT!â The pyro boy turned to look right at you as he gasped. His face was one of shock morphed with a cute, ecstatic look. One could compare it to a puppy of sorts. You were not meant to say yes. You were meant to be like everyone else and reject him. He was dumbfounded as he grabbed a hold of your shoulders and tilted his head.
âYouâre not joking?!â
âCourse not! Why would I do such a thing?â You rebuked before he giddily jumped up and down while pulling you up to a sweet hug. It was a gentle and firm one, though, he pulled away quickly after realizing he still wreaked of alcohol. You told him you didnât mind it though, making him rub the back of his head sheepishly and laugh. You two would converse for the night, agreeing to meet up at the gate the next morning so he could lead the way to the camp and also split the mora gained evenly. After the small chat, you would leave the tavern to stay at the local inn for the night and get some rest. Bennettâs eyes were trained on you as the door then closed, realization hitting him like a truck: he found someone. He found a real person to take on a mission. Better yet, they were as gorgeous as they were strong. This was better than any dream he could have made up. Bennett decided he had to turn in for the night soon after you left, taking a spot in his cozy bed under the sheets. His eyes closed as the curtains rustled at the soft wind that blew through the window. The pyroâs last thought before going to bed was that he truly hoped that you would fulfill your end of the deal and show up.
And you kept your promise. You were there as the morning sun rose to reflect your beautiful skin, hair flowing gently in the light breeze as he ran up to you and froze. You looked powerful now that you were out of the tavern and he could see you properly. You had on your adventure gear, dressed appropriately for a mission that required taking out many enemies. What caught his attention, though, was your white cape with golden accents that flowed from behind. Flicking your hood down and off your head, your face was now fully visible as you watched him stare. He was adorable, like a little baby who was just discovering the world for the first time.
âYouâre really gonna do this with me?â Bennett asked in wonder. His face was blank as a smirk landed itself on your features. You positioned yourself to stand upright, away from the wall you were leaning on as you held your weapon of choice in your dominant hand. As for the other, you outstretched it towards him with a grin.
âLead the way.â
Bennett didnât even have to think twice about it as he eagerly took your hand into his own gloved one and began to lead you out of the city and into the wilderness. He seemed to be very hyper from what you could tell, as he couldnât seem to stop commenting on how he was destined for greatness, or how thankful he was that you were going to come along with him. He also bombarded you with questions about yourself as well, like if this was your first time in Mondstadt or what kind of element you had control over. He was easily excited, but especially when you told him that you were a traveler that had been moving around place to place to see the sights of the world. It was why you were so strong, you had defeated a wide range of enemies, great and small, on your journeys. Bennett was fascinated by that, drawing him to be more and more curious about you. Alas, the questions and storytelling had to wait. You two had arrived at the camp, and it was time to take some enemies down.
You two ended up making a fantastic duo of sorts. With his sword and experience, he was able to cut down enemies with ease. You did the same, your speed and agility outmatched as you two basically made a massacre out of the camp. His fire would spread through the long grass, and with the natural wind, spread quickly to begin burning it all down. You were quick to come to his aid when he would sometimes get backed against the rocks or a tree, helping him heal with some quick magic you had learned. It wasnât anything special, but it was enough to keep him up and moving. With such precision and perseverance, your duo was able to defeat the camp with relative ease. However, both you and Bennett were still tired from fighting for so long. You two were out of breath as the fire died out, heaving for air as you gave him a head pat and grinned.
âYou did amazing out there. Youâre a talented pyro user as well, Iâm impressed.â There you went again, making him all confused as he sat there. You just complimented him. A powerful traveler, that has practically defeated every sort of monster there is out there, was impressed by him. Bennett, the unlucky, was impressive? For the first time, he was rendered speechless as he looked at you. It was now night, the moon high in the sky as it illuminated your face. Oh goodness, you looked ethereal. The way the stars were reflected in your eyes, the way the gold of your cape sparkled and flowed behind you, the way you smiled at him, like he was the most handsome boy you had ever seen. The only thing that stopped the comfortable silence between you two was the fact that he shivered when a breeze brushed against his pale, scar littered skin. You snapped out of it and looked him up and down, noticing how a lot of his skin was exposed to the chilly night.
âHere, take this.â You told him as you unbuttoned your cape, taking it off your shoulders. With one swoop, you draped it over his own figure, being as gentle as possible as you buttoned it up again. Bennett was reduced to continuing to stay silent as you clothed him. You placed the hood up on top of his head, a hand on your hip as you grinned at him. It was a bit big on him but nonetheless, it was rather cute. You used your other hand to take his chin gently, making him look you in the eyes. He was rather happy that the hood cast a bit of a shadow, because his cheeks were flushed a hot pink as he was forced to look at you.
âHuh. Looks better on you than it does me.â You commented before he seemed to regain his ability to speak.
âYou need this more than me! I-iâm literally a pyro user, I c-can heat myself-â You hushed him, letting go of his chin as you put a finger to his peach pink lips.
âDoesnât matter. You shouldnât waste your energy to heat up, especially since we have to walk back to town. Iâll be fine, Iâve been through worse weather situations.â He glanced down at your finger, and then back to you as you dropped your hand and began walking down the path again, back towards the city. Why did you have to be so, so...enchanting? And you were so smooth as well! He had never been so flustered when talking to someone, heck, he was the one who was meant to be doing most of the talking! Though, he supposed that him being talkative didnât equate to being able to flirt. But something about the thought of you leaving made him pout. It was as if the butterflies were leaving his stomach, but they left him emptier than before.
Bennett refused to be lonely anymore. Not when he had you.
âHey, darling!~ Would you stop standing there and staring off into space? I know I look wonderful tonight, but we gotta get a move on! We wonât be able to get to town and rest our weary bones if you keep this up!~â You called out to him, making him shake his head and refocus. Right, a bed. Sleep did sound rather good right now, along with a shower and something to quench his thirst. He ran and caught up to you, walking by your side as he grinned. He began to already ask about other missions that the two of you could do together, like gathering supplies for the alchemist or helping around the town for some spare Mora here and there. Bennett then stopped for a moment again, looking at you.
âWould you like to work together again?â There was a moment of silence before you nodded.
âI think I would. We make a great team.â Bennett then continued walking with you, as if time didnât just stop for a second as he went back to his usual, bubbly nature. The more he thought about it, the happier it made him. More adventures to be made. More memories to be created. All with you at his side the entire time.
And you would make all the difference.

Ur wolficorn fic sent me into a catatonic laughing fit I straight up couldn't breath for almost 2 min thank u
I'm so pleased the Wolficorn fic had you laughing so much. It was definitely one written in a spur of the moment idiocy XD While I don't have anything quite so silly to offer today, how about some idiot shenanigans of less outlandishness?
Sharing Is Caring
There was something unique to Wolf Witchers that nobody outside of their school knew about. their mages had been experimenting with not just the body but the mind too. Knowledge was essential to being a successful Witcher and little did anyone know but the mages were highly competitive, wanting their school to be the best. The Wolf mages had secretly perfected a formula. They called it Moss because it spreads and links minds so they can share knowledge without issues.
It's all well and good, Lambert, Geralt, Eskel, and Vesemir get together each winter and spend nights linked, sharing stories from the path, helping figure out whether harpies have a blind spot they could exploit to make contracts a little easier. However, the year Jaskier, Cahir and Aiden were with them, and Aiden can smell the unusual potion on Lambert, the ruse was up. They all wanted in on what sounded like quite a lot of fun.
"It requires a lot of control, adepts learn it together while they're still young," Vesemir grumbled, reluctant to share.
"Well, I'm a Witcher, I have control," Aiden shot back, pulling himself up to his full height and puffing his chest out.
Not to be out done, Jaskier was next to him, looking equally entitled. "I am nothing if not a quick study."
Somewhat slower and a bit more shy but no less determined, Cahir cleared his throat from behind them. "I won't be left out either."
Which was how, outnumbered and threatened with being pestered, sung into madness and soulfully stared at, Vesemir relented. They set the great hall up, pillows for comfort, more than usual because Jaskier demanded it and the vial of Moss was brought out.
"As the strongest in Chaos, Eskel goes first, he'll ground us," Geralt explained. One by one they took a sip and passed the vial on, then got comfortable, lying down and reaching for the person either side so they formed a circle of sorts. Like a gentle wave, something tugged at them, dragging them from the present into something warm and comforting.
The memory surfaced gently, there were pangs of fatigue and aching muscles but muted. The focus was very much on the nest of harpies that had been disturbed. Through Eskel's eyes they could see how he worked, corralling the creatures and approaching from the side. An inner monologue started up.
"I'd noticed that the harpies tended to approach at a 20 degree path from the rockface over the years. And if they swarm, they stay at a 25 degree angle to each other. So I set about testing a theory."
In the memory the harpies shifted as Eskel jumped but did nothing else. When they zeroed in on him again, Eskel moved too.
"I suspected that the harpies have a blind spot in the 20-25 degree range. It is something that is worth exploiting. In a group they will try to guard each other's blind spots but can be used against them, especially with projectiles."
There was a soft clamour in the memory of multiple not quite voices brushing together, a feeling of intrigue and gratitude. Eskel's memory was followed by Geralt's a review of some of the flowers and the regional mutations he had found in them. Lambert brought forth his contract on a werewolf whose stomach had been filled with stolen silver jewellery, probably in the mistaken hope of it preventing the transformation. Though he quickly stopped sharing about what he then did with the found silver, Aiden's memories picked up. There was glee and excitement in there. They had sold some of the silver to get a nice room for the night as well as a bath to share.
The problem was, there was no way to look away from a memory and Aiden seemed to have no shame in sharing the knowledge he'd learned on the Path that year. Namely, he'd discovered a new way to flick his tongue during a blowjob that had Lambert keening, head thrown back and tendons in his neck standing out.
Somewhere in the muted mixture of outrage, humiliation and pride there was one clearer voice.
"Thanks for the tip, I'm so trying that." Which was how focus moved from Aiden to Jaskier. The first thing that hit them all was exhaustion. Aching legs, a creaky knee a back that screamed to be allowed to lie on a flat surface. Instead, Geralt stepped through the doors of the tavern, looking equally drawn and in the memory they could all feel the wide smile Jaskier sent him before looking to the tavern owner. The set Jaskier played was no different to his usual by the looks of it, however this time there was an increasing wave of concern from Geralt as Jaskier struggled at hiding his fatigue and sadness. It wasn't that he didn't like performing but his heart ached that he had to push himself at every opportunity because people didn't take kindly to Geralt. The memory ended when Jaskier trudge upstairs, forcing his chatter and smile until his head hit the pillow and he was out like a light.
There was silence in their joined consciousness, an uneasy shifting from Jaskier at his secret having been spilled until Geralt mentally enveloped him, gratitude and sadness.
"There's a lot that's done out of love," Cahir mused. There had been absolute blankness from him for the whole joining which had been unnerving. It made Lambert and Aiden turn their attention to the void that shrouded him and began poking, pulling and trying to tease something out of him. It was Eskel's warm push that jolted them all into a memory.
"I remember this," Eskel thought. "You said nothing had happened."
That might have been a small lie. Eskel had been out to track down fiend that had been terrorising a king's hunting grounds. He'd said it would take at least three days to track it and kill it before dragging a head back as proof of completion of the contract. While he was gone, Cahir had been permitted to stay at the castle as a guest. With his knowledge of Nilfgaard, he was a valuable asset and many often tried to draw information from him in a variety of ways.
The fiend was taking longer to sort than anticipated, not that Cahir was worried. It was only the fourth day and he'd ride out the next day if there was no sign of Eskel, that was fine. However, he had been invited for an audience with the king in the throne room. What was nice was that the king stood rather than lounge in his throne though that was probably more to do with his sciatica than the desire to treat Cahir as an equal. It did mean though that when a messenger came in, Cahir heard it all.
"My King, there's news that the fiend has struck again. Rumour is that the Witcher has failed, might be injured in the forest."
"How unfortunate," the king had drawled.
"Do we send a rescue party?"
"Why bother? He's just a Witcher?"
The flare of fury and protectiveness was overwhelming and the memory was choked by it, only brought back into focus by the sound of a slap as Cahir delivered a swift, hard backhand, making the king's head snap to the side.
Immediately there was the sound of swords being drawn and guards advanced on Cahir who gave a nonchalant shrug.
"What? He's just a king."
Spluttering, the king waved his guards off and glared at Cahir. "People love me. I matter to them. A Witcher doesn't."
"I don't love you. But I love my Witcher, he matters to me." Cahir glanced at his nails, the perfect image of disinterest even as his stomach was in tight knots. "You're say here, getting fatter each day. Eskel's out there actually protecting your people. So tell me, who matters more? A king who is easily replaced and they're dime a dozen on this Continent? Or a Witcher when no more of them are being made and the only ones who can conquer a fiend when it hunts in the same area you wish to pursue for sport?"
The memory closed off at that, Cahir finally getting control back over himself. He shrank back into his void, a soft murmur of embarrassment echoed in the connection. "You weren't meant to find that out."
Breaking the circle, Eskel pulled himself from the effects of Moss and the others broke out of it too, just in time to see Eskel roll on top of Cahir and kiss him.
"You could have died you idiot."
"So could you." Cahir refused to feel remorse or regret for his actions. "From what I recall, the king paid you handsomely for your efforts when you came back the next day."
The moment was broken by Jaskier clearing his throat, hand in Geralt's and tugging. "If you'll excuse us, we have a new tongue trick to try."
Without a word, Vesemir walked into the kitchen, down into the cellar and got started early on the moonshine.

I saw your requests were open so I đ„șđđŒđđŒ Iâm not sure if you do Guy but if you do, maybe a scenario where the reader is dancing under the rain and having fun but Guy is worried for their health and is trying to coax them back in but the reader manages to pull Guy with them and start dancing together. One soulful moment it's all it takes (Guy x Reader)
People say monotony kills the heart. Ironically, monotony is what also keeps the heart working.
It wasnât that Guy enjoyed it per se, it's just that it was proven things got done quicker when you set up a system. It was more productive. More efficient. Waking up early every morning to practice karate was good to improve his health. Making and drinking tea also helped. Going fishing or taking care of Tsukiokaâs garden had also become part of what he got used to when he started living in Mankai among other activities.
The only variant he could never seem to grasp was you.
âYou should go out more!â
"I believe we are already outside."
"No- I mean, to play around, you know? Enjoy life! Nothing like a good bruise on your leg to remind you that you have a leg."
You always picked on him based on the consistency of his routines, on the rigidness of his answers. And while sometimes Guy had to admit he didnât quite grasp the full meaning of what you said, he found you captivating, intriguing even.
Everyone around always seemed to have a smile next to you after all, and as you two got closer, Guy found himself wishing he could be half as carefree and adventurous as you.
âCome on!â You made him eat some of the food you had ordered- even though his own plate was more than enough for one personâs fill. âI canât believe this is not making you smile. If you are not excited when you eat, you are doing something wrong.â
You always loved to try new things, which was why whenever you would suddenly appear at Mankai you would try and drag him all over Veludo. Openminded experiences, you liked to call them. It was also how Guy had gotten used to asking for places others recommended, such as the catâs cafĂ©, Veludo main acting street, or this new curry restaurant director and Usui had seemed to enjoy so much lately.
As you finished your meals and paid, you both stepped outside while making light talk. âAh⊠that was spicy but delicious! Not Omiâs level though. Iâve only eaten snacks from him but I bet all his food tastes just as good. You guys are lucky.â
âYes. He is one skilled young man even among other Zahranâs royal court's chefs I know. I have no doubt anyone that would try his cooking would think so as well.â
âRight? Anyway, I didnât know you could handle spices so well,â you patted his arm happily. Those plates had been no joke, Chikage and Izumi were monsters. âI mean, you finished it all! I believed this was the time I was gonna see you making weird faces."
"Do you want me to?"
"No! I was joking Guy. You always take me too seriously I swear," you laughed as you both left the shopping district.
The winter member nodded, taking a mental note once again. From his early childhood memories he had always been told to be careful about everything, and was made to follow the path everyone told him to. And though there were times when he wanted to step out of the beaten path, he hadn't been much of a rebel- until Citronia left, that is. He would easily put those thoughts aside and go on doing whatever he was supposed to do.
All of a sudden a few drops fell, snapping him back in the present and made him blink surprised at the sky at the unexpected wet contact. He had seen the weathercast that morning over breakfast and it hadnât said anything about raining.
âWe should look for shelter before it becomes heavier.â
âUh? What are you talking about?â
Guy stopped walking and met your questioning eyes, as if you truly didnât understand what he had said. People around you both began passing by jogging with jackets, briefcases, or whatever object they might have in hand acting as umbrellas, and for a second he didnât know how to explain it more clear. âThe rain. We will get wet otherwise.â
There was a sound of thunder in the distance, which made people speed up their walking pace. Not you though.
âI know." you shrugged. "Still canât see the problem.â
As the raindrops started to make their way through you, causing you to get wet, you stepped away from him, welcoming the cool drink from the clouds.
âY/N? Where are you going?â he called out to you when you started moving around in circles.
The unaware worry tinted in his expression resonated in your mind. In time, you were able to control yourself enough to let out a snort of a laugh. "Nowhere. I'm dancing silly!" you replied, your voice high with joy and arms open up in the sky. "The rain feels good. I love to walk and dance in it. Donât tell me youâve never done this."
âBut you will get sick.â
âOh come on, healing rain is real!â
âIs that so.â
âYeah! It can be physical healing or emotional or whatever you want it to.â You smiled. Your movements were rusty under the slow and endless drizzle, making jumpings and turns here and there. âIt washes your sins away.â
Guy kept staring not entirely convinced. As much as he saw you enjoying yourself moving around in the rain, he had seen Tsukioka and a few other members from Mankai get sick just from running under in the rain on their way back home and all in all, he still didn't fully understand the point of what you were doing.
âIt doesnât seem very conclusive.â He looked around, trying to look for any shop that might sell umbrellas. Without any result he turned to you once again, rain getting heavier as you two talked. âIf you wish to feel water running under you a shower could work as well, although I admit the space is considerably different if you decided to dance.â
âOh for the love of-" you ran up to him, grabbing his elbow and forcing him to come out of the somewhat safe roof he had been guarding himself against since you had left him laughing. âJust come here. Now close your eyes and enjoy the music!â
He followed your instructions and stayed in silence for a few seconds, then he opened them. âThereâs no music Y/N.â
âOf course there is! Try closing them again and pay attention.â
He followed your suggestion once again.
All was silent as before- All silent save the dripping rain. Then, as the breathful afternoon melted slowly and the cold caress of fresh air lapped up, Guy started to feel the drops around him. And while they were not synchronized, they created a sound worth listening to.
As you had indicated, he tried to let go of his inhibitions, allowing the rain to wash away the thoughts that had been roaming on his mind After a while he opened his eyes slightly, confused at the sudden feeling emerging within him. It was also when he found you still there, not having moved yet, smiling brightly -as the now hidden sun in front of him.
Ah. He didnât know exactly why or how it had happened, but the connection between you was different from anything he had felt before.
ââŠI believe I am now listening to the music you spoke of.â
Sometimes one finds joy in the small and simple things. It could be the scent of the rain, the taste of your favorite food... others, it was the sound of a loved one's voice.
âWhat do you think Guy?â
He never wanted anything so much than to drown in your love and feel the rain, however his eyes trailer over you, before silently stepping back instead. The sudden action made you tilt your head confused. You knew Zahfra wasn't that much of a humid place so it would make sense he might not be as comfortable as it was for other people to stand in the middle of the rain.
âGuy-â
âY/N-"
You chuckled at how you both said each other names so suddenly. Just like in the movies. âYou go first.â
He stared gaze at your figure for a second, before offering his right hand. Rain kept falling under you, no one else in sight. Just you, Guy, and the sound of rain.
âMay I have this dance?â
As if it was possible, your eyes lighted up brighter than they had on the whole day, which surprised Guy to an extent. With a beaming smile you nodded, and so he took a step towards you. He wrapped his hands around you and pulled you slightly closer. The thunderbolts made your body shiver while you wrapped your arms around his neck. He could feel your every breath, and with every breath, your own heartbeats pumped faster.
A good lead should be soft yet subtle, stating their intentions by moving themselves, inviting their partners to follow along. Guy was alert, eyes scanning the surroundings ahead of him, watching traffic, other people, but also aware of what was happening right in his arms.
He treated your follow with respect, never forcing any movement. If he led a step or a pattern and you interpreted the movement differently than he had intended, he adapted to you rather than forcing change. He wanted to give you a sense of security, knowing you could fully depend on his lead the way he had learned to dance, however after a few clumsy fails followed by your laugh, he soon discovered it didn't matter how you both danced, just that you did.
âI think you know me better than I know myself.â He broke the silence after a while. You smiled.
âIâm not going to deny that.â
âI wish I could repay you for that, somehow.â
Laughing again you adjusted yourself so you could look up at him. His astonishingly beautiful green orbs finding yours once again, filled with overwhelming love and safety. âYou are doing it right now.â
The corner of his eyes softened.
There were many things he had tried to chase away. Things he couldnât remember, and others he didnât let himself think about. Right now he was living, and nothing else seemed to matter anymore. He allowed you to take him anywhere you pleased on that made-up dance floor under the rain. You went right, he went right. You sped up, he sped up. Having you there, next to him like this, made him think about just how lucky he had become.
ââŠYou are beautiful,â he whispered, touching your cheek with care, clearing the strands of wet hair that had gotten in the way.
You held on to him tighter.
âYou are beautiful too.â You smiled, noses touching. Rain still falling over you both. âDidn't I tell you? That dancing in the rain deserved getting a cold.â

The enchanting croon - Sabo x f!mermaid reader
A/N : Beware this very cute scenario that kept haunting me while I was swimming in the pool haha. I decided to break from the enchantment by writing it. I hope that you will like it as much as I do, because honestly, this is my favourite Sabo x reader scenario I have written for now. I added the song I listened to while writing this, as I looked at the sunset from my terrasse~ (look at the end of the post) Synopsis : Two different people cross paths only to share an enchanting moment, threading a fine line between dreams and reality.
Warnings : None. Enjoy.
-
âThere isnât much to explore, huh ?â
Sabo surmised as he wandered around the island. He didnât care enough to follow Koala on her little shopping trip. The blond had most of his clothes tailored to his own tastes and fitted for his figure. He didnât care much about fashion, but he prefered to own a few pieces of clothing that reflected his style and tastes rather than owning too many. He took advantage of these few moments of peace to explore the island and maybe gather some information for their next mission. Even when the young man had free time, he would always find a way to make it about work. The sunset was now approaching big times and he started to think about returning to the meeting point with Koala.
However, he wanted to spend some calm time by the beach before going back. In fact, he appreciated meditating on his own and gathering some alone time, away from his partnerâs reprimands.
As he took a few more steps towards the tortuous alley, a gentle humming caught Saboâs trained ears. The humming added a reverie-like beam to the atmosphere, it was as if he was stepping in some unreal territory. As he got closer , the enchanting voice got more distinguishable and it sounded now more like a chant. The gentle melody dragged him in, enchanting all his senses, in the span of a few seconds he was totally captivated.
He was curious to discover the origin of this croon. The dimness of the alley fell away the closer he came to the end, burned away by the colors of the sunset. Orange, yellow, red, all merged together, reflecting on the beach. And there, you sit in all your glory, offering him your back.
âSo, this is what a mermaidâs singing sounds like ?â he thought to himself.
The notes were soft, but in your voice laid some melancholy that reached a deep part of his soul. He stood there in awe, he was petrified by the beauty of this magical moment. The way the notes rolled off your tongue, the way the light reflected on your scales made them glow like pure gold. He wanted to look longer, tracing every single image in his memory so he doesnât forget about it.
He didnât move by an inch, looking at you combing your hair with what looked like a golden comb, ornamented with little diamonds that glowed like stars under the sun. As much as he wanted to see the face of the fae creature that enchanted all his senses, he held back, unwilling to stop the chant.
He understood now the legends he read about mermaids, but how could such a beautiful song be one of destruction ?
But to his disenchantment -or would it be to his enchantment ?- the singing stopped abruptly. You turned your face towards him, sensing his presence, and the comb automatically fell from your frail hand.
A second was enough for him to react, he knew how to recognize terror in oneâs eyes. He knew it too much, having worked for the revolutionaries for such a long time. You moved your tail, ready to disappear into the sea as if he had seen something that he was not supposed to see.
âWait !â He didnât move, he knew that if he did, you would be even less convinced to stay. âI wonât hurt you.â
You were already in the water, but as you heard the manâs voice, your movements got slower, as if you hesitated whether to go back or to stay.
âI am sorry I looked at you, that wasnât very gentlemanly of me.â
He continued, his even voice was calming to you. No human has ever talked to you, you were excited and curious, but at the same time terrified.
Your intuition told you that he was a good man, the internalized voices of your parents and your likings said otherwise.
He sensed your inner conflict and decided to leave the choice up to you. He has met mermaids before but he has never talked to any. The mermaids he knew were also very different from you. Mostly ones he freed among other slaves, or older mermaids that were a part of a pirate crew. He got closer and his hand grasped the comb that fell on the shore minutes ago. His eyes scrutinized the arabesques that ornamented it. He then held it towards you.
âI think this belongs to you.â
You turned back and got closer to the rock where you were seated before he interrupted you. You leaned your upper body completely against it. Then, holding eye-contact, you stretched your delicate arm towards his. Without breaking eye contact your fingers grasped the comb, snatching it off his fingers, then, holding it close to your bosom. Your chest lifted up and down, your breath seemed heavy and you didnât dare move. You seemed scared. His big black eyes were full of compassion as he could only imagine the reason behind your fear of humans.
âMay I take a seat ?â he attempted. You nodded your head energetically, and he took place next to you on the huge rock. You inspected him with curiosity, but you didnât move yet. In reality, you were now feeling that he wasnât much of a threat, but you were still a bit scared.
âSo, you understand me. Can you speak as well ?â you nodded again.
âMy name is Sabo. Nice to meet you.â
You leaned towards his face inspecting it closely, your hand reached out to his cheek a few times but you were quick to hold back. You were very curious as you have always wanted to know more about humans. Sadly, everyone on your island said that humans were horrible creatures that would enslave and abuse mermaids. A few stories about mermaids being sold in auction houses were enough to scare you.
âSaboâ you repeated. He smiled and said back
âYes, Sabo, thatâs my name.â
âSabo is a funny name.â your melodious laugh was contagious.
âYou think so ? Itâs short for sabotage. Youâre right !â He laughed to lighten up the mood, a gloved hand scratching his neck.
âHumans have funny names.â You commented, taking his words literally.
âNot everyone. But itâs true that I have a rather peculiar name.â he smiled and you mirrored his smile.
You looked at the way the sun reflected on his golden locks and you thought that it looked so beautiful. You took place next to him now, you turned your face towards him, not able to detach your eyes from his sight. It wasnât every day that you were able to see humans this close after all.
âMy name is (Y/N) !â
â(Y/N), nice to meet you.â
âNice to meet you too.â
Your eyes now lowered, looking at his legs, head blown away by how different his body was from yours. He noticed that and couldnât refrain from smiling. It was the same for him actually, but he tried not to scare you away by dwelling on your body, it was breathtaking and he felt extremely lucky to share such a moment with a dreamy creature.
âSo, what were you doing here ? And why is there no one by the beach ?â he asked.
âI like to come watch the sunset. It takes around half an hour of swimming for me to get here, but itâs pretty much worth it...This is the only time that I can come here unbothered.â
âAnd why is that ?â he asked gently. He encouraged you to talk more, trying to get you to feel more comfortable.
âOh, itâs because itâs prayer time. The citizens of this island pray at this time, so there is no one by the beach. I spend half an hour here before going back home. I like to sing and enjoy the fresh air...This is why I was very surprised to see you hereâŠâ
âI am not a local, you are right. I had no idea about this. I am sorry again for earlier, your voice sounded really enchanting.â He complimented and you looked in front of you now, blushing a bit. It was the first time that someone, a man, a human man, complimented you.
âWas it your first time listening to a mermaid sing ?â
âYesâ his answer was simple and fast, he enjoyed the sunset, not looking your way so he doesnât make you feel uncomfortable.
âItâs my first time too. Seeing a human.â
âHow is it ? Is it different from what you have imagined ?â
Sabo tried to put himself in your shoes, or should I say- in your scales. He was genuinely fascinated by how big the universe is, and how different it should feel to be someone else. Life as a mermaid must be very different from his own. This conversation he was having with you was an opportunity for him to see things through your eyes.
He thought about the privilege he had as a human, and how he would often forget to his dismay, that the world was far bigger and that everyone had different experiences. And that was what he fought for, he fought for a world where a mermaid and a human could meet and where it would be natural.
âIt is different.â You said as you veered your eyes towards his face once again. You seemed unable to contain your excitement. Your eyes shined like those of a child with an insatiable curiosity. âFor example, I knew that humans had legs, but I have never seen legs before...Can I..Can I feel them ?â you hesitated.
âOf...of course.â he stuttered a bit, surprised by your question, but he had to remind himself that you were just fascinated by your differences and that it was just an innocent request.
You put your hand on his thigh and squeezed it before laughing. âItâs hard, different from my tail. You want to touch it as well ?â
His cheeks were rose colored as he thought that you really had no idea of the hidden meaning of your words. He then took off his gloves and touched your tail with the tip of his fingers. You put your hand on his and pressed it on your tail while laughing
âCome on, donât be scared. It doesnât hurt.â
âIt feels soft, like a fish.â He said.
âWell, I am technically half a fish, so thatâs right.â You let go of his hand and added. âAlso, I imagined humans to be more...scary ? I am sorry. I didnât mean to be rude to you. Itâs just that- itâs complicated between humans and mermen. My parents have always warned me of humans.â
âI knowâ Sabo was now looking at the sky with dreamy eyes âAnd your parents were probably right. They worry about you. Most things that you have probably heard about humans are unfortunately true.â
Your shimmer smile faded away leaving an expression of melancholy and sadness on your traits.
âBut not everyone is like this.â He looked back at you with a determined expression. âI am a revolutionary. I fight for freedom and equality, for a world where humans and all other species will be considered equal. I am sorry that the world isnât a safe place for you at the moment, (Y/N).â
You smiled lovingly and pressed on his hand. You could feel that the man was incredibly sincere and you were moved by his words. You then added, and in your voice he could discern that same tone of sadness and melancholy that he heard in your singing ;
âThatâs very admirable of you, Sabo. I have always dreamt of..Of walking outside freely and meeting humans. Life underwater is fun, but itâs also just one percent of what is there to see in this world...I think that itâs unfair that Iâm not allowed to discover all of these thingsâŠâ your eyes almost teared up as you said those things. âBut your words give me hope. I wish more people were like you, Sabo. I donât understand much about ârevolutionariesâ. But you sound like good people.â
There wasnât much to be understood, only to be felt. You put your head on his shoulder and he hesitated before rubbing yours in a comforting way. You were just two people sharing a connexion, something that was soul-level and that words couldnât express. You were the embodiment of what he was fighting for. And you being there, so beautiful, yet like a bird in a cage, tore his heart apart.
With a swift move you plunged into the sea and dragged him away from his hand. âCome on, that was really depressing. Letâs swim together.â You said with a laugh.
âW-wait !â he protested. âI canât swim !â you looked at him with big eyes. He was already starting to sink a bit when you got closer to his body and put his arms around your neck.
âHold onto me really well then !â you said with a mischievous smile.
He did as you asked and was surprised with the ease with which you held his body and with how fast you swam.
âAnd why canât you swim ? Are you scared ?â you teased a bit.
âItâs not that, I am a devil fruit holder. But I loved to swim before.â
You heard about devil fruits before, but only in books. You have never witnessed such a power and believed it to be a legend. But you also knew that devil fruit eaters canât swim, since devil fruits were cursed by the sea.
âWhat kind of power do you have ?â you asked, curious as you bring Sabo back to the shore. He got up, turning his fist into flames under your admiring gaze :
âI can control flamesâ
âThatâs pretty impressive. I wonder if I can get such a cool power one day as well.â You smiled.
âWho knows ? What kind of power would you like to have ?â he asked as he took off his jacket and shirt, wringing them to get rid of the water. You got lost looking at his body and how handsome he was. He really did look charming. You then recollected your thoughts trying to think about his question :
âI have never thought about that. I didnât think that devil fruits existed until today. I like talking to you Sabo, you taught me so many things.â
You tapped the place next to you back at the rock, gesturing for him to take a seat which he does.
âI like talking to you too, (Y/N), itâs refreshing. You have such a pure and innocent way of viewing the world.â
He meant that it was easy for you to warm up to him, and it gave him hope. It felt as if you were ready to see the good in everything. But he knew that this could also put you in danger, as some people could have bad intentions towards you, especially that mermaids were unfortunately targeted by slave traffickers.
âGee, if my parents knew that Iâm here with a human, theyâll kill me~â you mused.
He tapped your shoulder in a comforting way and said :
âThey donât need to know for now, but I promise you that I will do my best so that humans and mermen can live in peace. This way, your parents wonât be so worried about you coming here.â
Without a thought, you encircled the manâs neck with both your arms.
âThank you so much Saboâ you chirped. He put a hand on your back, taken aback by the proximity. He knew that you didnât think much about this gesture, but he couldnât help but notice the softness of your chest against his. He pulled away gently, embarrassed by this thought crossing his mind.
âItâs only natural, (Y/N), itâs my duty.â
âBut still, this means that you are a really kind and selfless person.â A smile played on your mouth. But the corner of your lips fell down as you noticed that the sun was already setting down. You had to go away soon. You wished to spend more time with Sabo, but if you stayed any longer, your parents would get suspicious, not to forget that prayer time was almost elapsed.
âItâs getting darker now...I have to go soonâŠâ
Sabo looked at his wrist watch, noticing that his meeting time with Koala was also getting closer. Time passed by really fast in such an agreable company, he thought to himself.
âI have to go as well.â he says as he puts back his shirt after drying it faster with his devil fruit powers. âIt was really nice meeting you, (Y/N), I wish to hear you sing once again.â And he smiled gently, and your heart hurt a bit as you didnât want to leave his side.
You wanted him to tell you more, you wanted to know more about this world that he was trying to build for you and your people, a world where humans and mermen could coexist.
âSay Sabo...We will meet again right ? Youâll come here again, right ?â you tugged at his sleeve bringing him closer to the rock where you were seated. Your pleading eyes made his heart melt and he couldnât help but ruffle your hair. This simple touch made your heart skip a beat. You wanted him to stay so badly. You really liked how gentle he was, how respectful and polite he was towards you. You have always been both scared and fascinated by humans, yet, now that you have met him, you wanted to meet more of them.
Sabo seemed to think for a moment, then, he took a piece of paper out of the pocket of his coat and put it in your hand.
âUnfortunately, Iâll be leaving this island tonight, however, Iâll give you a piece of my vivre card.â
You looked at the piece laying in the palm of your hands with big surprised eyes. He continued, noticing your surprise :
âThis will always guide you to me. It points to my location. This way, whenever Iâm by the beach or the sea, youâll be able to find me, if you want to of course. Iâll be very pleased to hear you sing, and to talk to you of course, (Y/N).â
You instinctively closed your fingers around the piece of paper, bringing it closer to your chest. I will cherish it with all my heart, you thought to yourself. You wanted Sabo to never forget about you, and you were excited to meet him again, and have him tell you about his adventures. You looked a bit around you then took his hand and placed your golden comb in it.
âPlease accept this as a memento of mine.â He looked at the beautiful comb, was it alright for him to accept such a gift ? Seeing him so reluctant and hesitant, you reassured him
âI want you to keep it, maybe youâre not aware of it, but today was really meaningful for me. I was afraid of humans because of mermen legends, but you proved me wrong.â
You punctuated your words with a smile that he mirrored. You were so adorable to him, he liked how spontaneous you were and how easy it was for you to speak your feelings. As you took your hand away from his, he closed his fingers around the comb then put it in his pocket.
âIâll keep it then. Please know that the pleasure is shared. Good and evil exist everywhere. I am glad that I have given you a good impression about humans. Please donât hesitate to ask me for help if you run into any kind of trouble. Alright ?â
You nodded, your heart melting at his kindness. You hesitated for a second, then, you lifted your upper body with your palms placed on the rock. Then, with one arm, you pulled Sabo from his cravate so that his face was inches away from yours. His eyes were shaken with surprise, pupils dilated. You closed yours and kissed his cheek softly, his blond locks tickling your face. You let go of him fast, plunging into the sea.
âI wonât hesitate...I hope that we will see each other againâŠâ
He straightened his back, smiling at you. It would have been impossible not to be shaken by your move. He engraved that moment in his memory : the way your cheeks were flushed pink, the tone in which you spoke : flowing like velvet, and how your hair glowed in the dark as if it had stars entangled in it. You were so beautiful, too beautiful, and he had a desire to protect this beauty, this purity of yours. He had to pursue his goal, to continue, to make the world a place for beauty to be appreciated.
Your voice was heard once again, now low, just a murmur.
âBut there was one thing that the mermen legends werenât wrong about...Human men are really handsome.â
He could hear a shy smile in your voice, and after these few words, you disappeared into the water, as if you had just been a dream. But the comb in his pocket proved otherwise. What a playful girl, he thought. Then, he stayed still for a few minutes, taking in the peaceful air of the sea.
Maybe you will meet again. He thought. But till then, he had to work harder. He turned his back to the sea, returning to his meeting point with Koala, although his thoughts were still attached to your enchanting croon.

Tickletober Day Five - Tickle Hug
Notes: This ended up being a biiiit longer than I meant it to be, but oh well. I said 1,000 words at the maximum for these because I needed to focus on other writing as well, but I have no self control and they keep ending up longer on accident.Â
Summary: Surprises are hard when your boyfriendâs a superhero.
Caleb had memorized a variety of different feelings from Adam. He knew when he was frustrated, and how to distinguish whether he was frustrated over a math problem or his own personal dilemma. He knew the exact feeling Adam got when he needed a hug but was too afraid to ask. He could recognize Adamâs pain and suffering like the back of his hand, and though Caleb couldnât always figure out what he needed in that moment, he was getting better at it. He also knew what it was like when Adam was bursting with joy, and it was one of his favorites to experience, like sparks firing off in his brain.
Sometimes, though, he would experience new feelings, and whenever he did he had to add them to the quickly growing list of them he had built in his head. That day he felt a very particular feeling from Adam, a mischievous spark so present that he didnât even have to turn around and see Adam to know it was him.
Caleb could also tell the mischief was directed at him, which made him instantly tense. By then it was too late, however, as fingers suddenly slid under his shirt, blunt nails scribbling across his skin and surprising a snort out of him.
âAhahadam!â he protested, curling in on himself. âW-Whahat are y-you dohoing?â
âYou are ticklish,â Adam exclaimed, a note of triumph in his voice. âAlice told me you were, but I wanted to see it for myself.â
Alice. Of course. One of the downfalls of introducing Adam to his family was the unexpected friendship that had resulted between his boyfriend and his sister. At first Caleb had been relieved by it, until he realized Adam was benefitting from the friendship by discovering all the best ways to mess with Caleb.
âOhohof cohohourse Ihihi a-aham!â Calebâs knees were growing weak, his ability to support himself quickly failing. He batted weakly at Adamâs hands, his protests coming out far gigglier than he intended them too. âCuhuhut ihihit ohohout!â
âOkay, okay.â Adam pulled his hands away, sidling around to face him with a cheeky smile. Caleb could feel the giddy pride radiating off him, and he rolled his eyes, feeling a reluctant smile slide onto his face in response.
âThat was uncalled for,â Caleb said, pointing accusingly at him. âYou are never allowed to talk to my sister about me again. Iâm banning it. No more Alice time for you.â
âBut I like Alice,â Adam protested, leaning in to meet Calebâs brief kiss before the latter grabbed the kettle off the stove. âSheâs funny. Besides, you tickle me all the time.â
âYes, but thatâs different. You like it when I tickle you,â Caleb pointed out, turning on the sink and filling the kettle. He could feel the embarrassment from the other at his words, curling and squirming in his stomach, but it was a good kind, the kind that let Caleb knew he didnât really mind it.
Adam blushed, biting his lip nervously as he suddenly became very interested in the hem of his hoodie. âMaybe so. But still. I think some revenge is in order.â
âFor something you enjoy?â Caleb asked, glancing back with a wry grin.
âIâm just saying,â Adam persisted, stubborn till the end. He paused for a moment, giving the other a considering look. âDo you not like it? Being tickled, that is?â
Caleb shrugged, rubbing the back of his neck. âI donât hate it. It can be pretty intense though. But I suppose I donât mind it, really, if itâs with someone I know and trust.â
âLike me,â Adam suggested.
Now it was Calebâs turn to be embarrassed. âYeah, I guess. Like you.â
Adam was silent behind him, but Caleb could practically sense the gears in his brain turning. Not only that, but a combination of determination and excitement, that Caleb had come to recognize by now as the beginnings of a new project, was practically glowing off of him. Often it would come about during class or when he was brainstorming during an essay assignment while Caleb sat on his phone nearby. This time however, it was directed towards Caleb.
The next day, he discovered the meaning behind it. Caleb was sitting on the couch, a book held in his hands that he was supposed to be reading for English. He skimmed the pages dutifully, words flying in one ear and out the other. He didnât understand why they had to read Shakespeare anyway. By the time he got through the language, he had completely lost his place in the plot.
His thoughts were distracted suddenly when he heard Adam come in the room. No, not heard. Felt. There were no footsteps signaling his presence, yet Caleb could sense the familiar emotions, already slotting comfortably into place against his own. Super familiar, actually. It was the same as yesterday, playful anticipation reaching out eagerly. And suddenly, Caleb realized his game.
He jerked forward just in time, so that Adam fell into the back of the couch in surprise, his fingers curled in midair. He straightened up quickly, tugging his shirt down and fixing the other with a glare. âWhat the hell? I was being so quiet!â
âEmotions boy, remember?â Caleb offered him a sheepish smile. âSorry for ruining your revenge.â
Adam groaned, letting his face fall into his hands. âDammit. I forgot you had literal superpowers. How am I supposed to sneak up on you when youâre basically a human metal detector for emotions?â
Caleb stood up, coming around and patting him on the shoulder. âI have faith in you. You always figure things out in the end.â
âI canât help but feel youâre condescending to me,â Adam muttered, side-eying him though his fingers.
âI will neither confirm nor deny.â Caleb kissed the side of his head, reaching around and retrieving his book. âNow if youâll excuse me, Iâm going to go attempt to figure out what the hell a âbisson rheumâ is.â
For the next week, the days followed in much the same way. Adam coming up with strange and inventive ways to surprise him, and Caleb dodging him each and every time. Caleb considered just letting Adam think he had won and giving in, but he had a feeling the other would want his victory to be real.
Their little game ended on a Saturday evening, with Caleb standing outside Adamâs door as he waited for him to get ready for their date. It was late September at the time, and he could feel the chill creeping in underneath his jacket as the seconds ticked by. They had planned to meet for a quick coffee at their usual placeânot that it was usually a âquickâ coffee with them.
The door opened with a bang, flinging forward as Adam came rushing out of it. He grinned when he saw Caleb, who had taken several steps back to avoid the path of the door, and threw his arms around him suddenly.
âOh!â Caleb exclaimed, surprised, but not unpleasantly so. âHey. Youâre energetic today. Whatâs the occasâah! Hehehey!â
He giggled as cold fingers dug suddenly into his sides, squeezing and scribbling over the skin. âA-Ahahadam!â He tried to squirm away, but found himself held in place by Adamâs arms, the hug serving as an excellent trap for the unexpected tickling. âShit! Wahahait!â
âI got you,â Adam proclaimed, leaning back a little to smirk at him. âI figured out the perfect way to catch you off guard.â
Caleb had to admit he was right. By the time he had even registered Adamâs feelings, it was already too late. His laughter rose several octaves as Adam moved to his ribs next, scratching against them in a way that was unfairly ticklish. He hugged the other tighter, unsure what else to do in the face of the tickling. âAhahahahadam!â
âCaleb.â
âIhihihit tihihihickles!â
âWell I should hope so. I am tickling you, after all.â
Adam tickled him for another minute, leaving the other a gasping, giggling mess in his arms. He didnât want to go too far, however, and so finally he relented, allowing his hands to rest at his lower back. âI think itâs safe to say I won.â
Caleb didnât answer for a moment, regaining his breath from the sudden fit of laughter. When he did, his cheeks were flushed and there was a leftover grin on his face, which quickly transformed into a confident smirk. âI think youâre forgetting something here.â
âOh?â Adam raised an eyebrow. âAnd just what is that?â
âYouâre ticklish too.â
The two were understandably late to their date, but as Caleb held Adamâs hand afterwards, basking in the high of Adamâs happiness, he decided it was worth it.

Daniel Ricciardo on his passion for combat sports, a walkout song and the time he asked Lewis Hamilton to âfightâ
McLaren Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo, who currently sits seventh in the driver standings heading into this weekendâs Spanish Grand Prix, is among the worldâs best behind a steering wheel. But how would he fare if he swapped his racing gloves for boxing or MMA gloves?
âIïżœïżœïżœd love to do a charity boxing match or something just to feel that adrenaline of walking to a ring,â Ricciardo said. âItâs on my to-do list for sure. At school I had a few little fights but nothing crazy. Nothing Iâd brag about here.â
Ricciardo says he learned the sport of boxing from a friend who fought as an amateur growing up. However in recent years his love of combat shifted more toward mixed martial arts, a sport that is âquite beautiful. Itâs an art form and I was just taken by it.â
The Australian â who boasts 4.6 million followers on Instagram â rarely misses a fight night, whether thatâs a small card or pay-per-view. Every Monday he gears up for multiple MMA podcasts to hear analysis on what just took place in the cage.
In an exclusive interview with The Athletic, Ricciardo opened up about his love for fighting, which driver would make the best opponent and why Lewis Hamilton turned down an opportunity to get in the ring against him.
Youâre an avid fight fan. How did this passion for the sport start?
One of my best friends growing up, when he was growing up, he was doing amateur boxing and got very good at it. I was then doing my racing and he was doing his boxing. We were both on a bit of an unconventional path â both individual sports, not really the typical sports the kids at school were doing. We had that in common. Once I started taking my racing more seriously I began taking my fitness more seriously. So I started going to his gym to just train. I really enjoyed doing it. But the truth is â I donât want to lie to anyone. Iâm not a fighter. As much as I would picture beating the bully up at school, itâs not me. But I just fell in love with not only doing it but also watching it.
I enjoyed watching boxing but it was really when I got exposed to MMA ⊠It just had me. It was back in 2011 when I started properly getting into it. It was the quickest sport I had ever been absorbed by. I was all in.
My whole YouTube feed is just all MMA shows, whether itâs press conferences, interviews, podcasts. Itâs just full of MMA stuff. Iâm a full nerd now.
Being in Australia and traveling a lot, are you forced to get up at weird times for fights?
The beauty was I was in LA when (Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier 2) was on so it was prime time and I was happy. But normally in Europe, itâs 4 a.m. or 5 a.m., which isnât as good. Any kind of sporting event that you look forward to, itâs always cool when itâs in the evening because you have all day to get ready and talk about it. If you wake up at 4 a.m. itâs like âugh,â and then youâre straight into it so thereâs not as much of a build-up. But itâs all good.
So do you still train at all?
No. To races, my trainer carries some pads and gloves just to stay a little sharp and change it up. If Iâm getting my reflexes with some tennis balls, maybe I throw in a bit of a boxing combination or something. Again, Iâm not saying Iâm good or anything. But I just enjoy the whole movement part of it.
Boxing was cool and I enjoyed watching it growing up. But there was something with MMA where thereâs just so many different disciplines and the matchups ⊠as a contest it was so much more open and for that, exciting. I feel â I know itâs not always the case â you can kind of tell in boxing if someone is getting momentum, the advantage. Itâs like âthis guy is going to win the fight.â But in MMA, itâs like âthis guy is winning standing but if this goes to the ground, itâs back to square one.â So I just loved it. I was really immersed by it all.
Did you have a particular fighter or fight that got you hooked early on?
One of the first events I watched was UFC 116. Chris Leben was on the card and I think he was losing the fight. And then he got a triangle with probably 20 seconds to go in the third round, so that was really exciting. Stephan Bonnar was also on that card and he got a really cool finish on âThe Polish Experimentâ Krzysztof Soszynski. That was a card for me where I was very taken from that. Then I discovered âThe Ultimate Fighter.â I just binge-watched all of those (seasons).
In terms of fighters, Leben was a character, I liked him. Carlos Condit. Iâd say Condit and Cub Swanson were two guys I got behind early on. Condit, I love his style and the way he carries himself.
Have you been to a lot of cards in person?
The very first one I did was the best for me personally. To this day, itâs my favorite sporting event Iâve ever been to: (Conor) McGregor-(Chad) Mendes. Vegas in July 2015. Obviously McGregor, but he wasnât yet a champion and still kind of on the rise. It was the energy and atmosphere. It was just wild.
The whole event too. (Robbie) Lawler-(Rory) MacDonald, which had the fight of the year. Every fight on the main card I think was a finish, so I got very lucky at my first event.
Iâve done (Michael) Bisping-(Anderson) Silva in the UK. That was a great contest as well.
There are a lot of great fighters from Australia and New Zealand like Israel Adesanya, Alexander Volkanovski and Robert Whittaker. Have you had a chance to meet any of them?
I havenât met them. A couple of them Iâve had interactions with on social media. But I love Whittaker, obviously Volkanovski is killing it. Iâm fairly patriotic to the Aussie fighters. If they are fighting, 99 percent of the time Iâll be supporting them. But one of my good buddies is roommates with Luke Rockhold, so I got to know Luke the last couple of years. I was trying to do some training over Christmas with him but it didnât end up working out.
I know youâre a big shoey guy. What do you think of Tai Tuivasa doing it after wins?
Iâve had a bit of contact with Tuivasa as well. Itâs obviously great. But one thing I canât get behind is spitting. Thatâs a little extra.
Plus heâll grab some random fanâs shoe.
He definitely takes it to the next level. Itâs cool that â as disgusting as it is â we have some traditions like this.
Shifting a bit to F1, have you ever gotten into any big fights on the track? What was the worst fight youâve gotten in?
Earlier in go-karting there was a bit more. Unfortunately in F1, I guess because youâre on the worldâs stage, even if you push someone you probably are going to get a fine or get penalized. At times itâs a little too clean. But Iâm still waiting for the day that someone confronts me and I just lay them out (laughs).
You also just seem a lot more laid back than a lot of other drivers, so youâd probably not be my first choice of someone getting into a fight soon.
Iâm all talk, it would be nice obviously to not have to fight anyone. But no one would expect it from me. Even when I tell people Iâm a fight fan, people are like âoh really? Youâre into that? You seem too nice to like that.â
But to get where I have in the sport, you need a bit of a killer streak in you. I do have it, but donât always show it.
What other driver would make the best fighter?
I know some guys have done â for fitness â hit some pads. Randomly, he doesnât have a seat this year, but Daniil Kvyat started doing quite a lot of boxing last year for his training. I saw a few clips and it started to look like he knew what he was doing. I would say he would be the guy who has the most idea. Iâd put him and myself up there. The rest I donât think stand a chance.
So if you had a charity event, you donât have anyone in particular youâd want to go against?
To be honest, I actually asked Lewis Hamilton. At the beginning of 2016, he posted a video on his Instagram hitting pads. I was as well at the time, so I was like âhey, letâs do a charity fight.â I asked him in person. But he didnât bite on that one so I was a little sad.
I might re-ask the question.
What about Max Verstappen? For people who watched the first season of the F1 show âDrive to Surviveâ on Netflix, Iâm sure they would love to see you guys throw down at some point.
That would have been cool as well (laughs). Max would be a good competitor in the ring. The way he drives, heâs quite stubborn. Heâd be a hard guy to put away. Heâs probably the guy that youâd choke him and heâs going to sleep and not tapping. That would make an interesting one.
In contrast, is there an MMA fighter youâd like to race on the track?
An obvious one would be Conor McGregor. To hear in his Irish accent all kinds of things, that would make pretty good television. And he loves his cars. Itâs obvious, but that would probably be the best.
How often would you say you watch fights now? Not just PPVs, right?
Unless I have something like work or another commitment, Iâm watching it every week. Mondays Iâm getting ready for every podcast. I sound like a real nerd but itâs just an addiction. I love it. Anyone doing that for Formula 1, Iâd be like âyouâre such a nerd,â but here I am doing it with MMA.
Is it hard to follow everything during the race season?
If I canât see it live, then 100 percent Iâm going to watch the replay or buy it later. But itâs also a good escape. If Iâm traveling and Iâm in between races, to get my mind away from my competition, I like to watch it. I also try to pick up things as well. Whether itâs from a mental point of view ⊠Iâll look at the walkouts and how they are behaving. I try to figure out if they are really as calm and collected as they are portraying or if itâs a bit of a facade. Iâm trying to work out what I can use in my events.
Do you have a walkout song prepared if you were to fight?
Iâve thought about it. The short answer is no. You typically have to have something heavy and fast, but I fell in love with Chris Weidmanâs âWonât Back Down.â Itâs not typically a song that will pump you up but itâs so iconic and now itâs his, itâs very fitting.
Iâd go for something more lyrically powerful as opposed to instrumental. I loved Max Hollowayâs, I think itâs called Mount Everest (by Labrinth). (X)

Permanent Chaos (1/?)
Pairing: MGK x Female!Reader
Warnings: SwearingÂ
Word Count: 2.8k
Part Summary: Y/N is a newly famous actress from a popular TV show and sheâs willing to do everything in her power to maintain her perfect image as âAmericaâs Sweetheart.âÂ
Masterlist
The limelight is a hard place to be under. Itâs draining to constantly be on display. Day in and day out I feel as though Iâm always looking into a mirror. However, a mirror is replaced by peopleâs eyes. I see myself through otherâs eyes. Being sat on a slippery plastic stool while being watched by millions of Americans before they head off to work is an excellent way to start my day. Perhaps if I keep telling myself that Iâll eventually believe it. Savannah glances down at her cards then continues with the interview.
âLetâs go back to a year ago, if someone approached you and said âyouâll be the most sought after girl in America,â would you had believed them?â
I shake my head ânot all.â
If only she knew how absent I am in the current moment. Iâve answered similar questions a million times these past few months. All the exact same questions within the same routine.
âNow, being as famous as you are, how do you cope with your newfound fame?â
There it is, famous. A better-sounding word than popular. After all, adult life is nothing like high school⊠right?
âI donât particularly like the word âfamous.â When people say âyouâre famous!â What they really mean is âa lot of people know you!â At least people think they do.â
She studies me, intrigued by my honest answer, perhaps too honest. âYouâre saying America doesnât know the ârealâ you? Including your fans?â
I shrug, I can only imagine Nicoleâs face right now. My usual bubbly and charmingly excited personality didnât wake up with me at three this morning.
âI believe they know whatever version of me theyâve created. For some, Iâm that girl from the cover of that one magazine they saw in line at the grocery store. For others, I may just a name without a face. Thatâs the thing about being so-called âfamous.â Iâll never have the chance to meet every single person who has ever read an article about me or has seen paparazzi videos. Theyâll only see those tainted versions of me. Theyâll never have the opportunity to know me personally and make a valid judgment for themselves.â
Savannah hums, her eyebrows scrunched up. âHow do you feel about that?â
I sigh, the words settling within me. âItâs disappointing.â
If only they all knew the truth, the reality of it all.

After the interview for the show, I fly straight back to Los Angeles from New York. My schedule has been worse, but I never miss the chance to complain to my manager. Thankfully, Nicole is a mother of tween girls and a ten-year-old boy so she knows how to take my childish whining. Once weâre landed in LAX I countdown the minutes until I can return to my bed.
âI donât understand why you insist on wearing heels on the plane,â Nicole nags me.
âBecause you never know who youâre gonna meet! Best to dress nicely just in case!â
Itâs been a rule of mine since I first discovered my style and began to wear makeup, never go out in public without looking and feeling confident. Iâve learned that people can sense when others donât feel confident and take advantage of that.
âI doubt your Mom would like it,â she nags.
âWell sheâs not in California is she?â I fire back but snicker slightly.
My mommaâs absence was bitter-sweet, in the beginning, now itâs all sweet. When we have our luggage, Nicole leads me through the airport to where the car is picking us up.
âYou may want to put on your sunglasses now. Weâre about to cross the line,â she warns.
I grab my glasses out of my purse like she instructed and slide them on. She was right, as soon as we cross over that taped line itâs a free-for-all for the paparazzi.
âY/N!â âY/N!â
âHEY! SHOW US A SMILE!â
The yelling doesnât bother me as it used to in the past. Now, itâs the clicking. The clicking from their cameras. A constant *click* *click* *click*, from each of the thirty cameras. Nicole attempts to create a path for me by walking ahead.
âHOW WAS YOUR TRIP TO NEW YORK?â
âGood, thank youâ I reply politely with a smile toward the tile floor.
I try to manage a balance when it comes to paparazzi. They have their job and so do I. Following me, taking pictures or videotaping me is their job. As long as they respect me, I will respect them. Nicole says itâs good for my image. My image wasnât the first reason I was nice toward them, I was being myself. Nowadays, Iâm hardly myself. I have my name, Y/N Voss, but it no longer feels like my name. The paparazzi are not used to getting easy responses out of people because thereâs a long pause before the next question.
âWHEN DOES FILMING START BACK UP FOR THE SHOW?â
The question comes from a different voice but that doesnât keep me from answering.
âIn two days!â I gleam, looking forward to returning to set.
âCAN YOU GIVE ANY INFO ABOUT THE NEW SEASON?â
I chuckle a little but think it over. I agreed in my contract not to give out spoilers but there is a little info I was told I can let out. Plus, Iâve only seen the script for the first episode so I donât know too much.
âI can say that Hollyn will have a bump start this season but no worries,â I answer vaguely but with interest.
Nicole and I manage to reach outside and she guides me down the sidewalk to where the car is supposed to pick us up.
âRUMOR HAS IT YOUâRE DATING SOMEONE! CARE TO COMMENT?â
âIâm very much single,â I laugh, finding the topic humorous. âNot enough hours in the day to share them!â
There are always rumors that Iâm dating someone though none of itâs true.
âYOU LOOK GREAT TODAY Y/N!â
âYOU ALWAYS DO!â
âThanks, boys!â I give my appreciation.Â
The driver gets out of the front and pops the trunk. Nicole informs me to get in the car and let her worry about our things along with the driver.
âWHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THE SUMMER?â
I open my door but pause to answer the last question. âWork, of course, but I also want to have some fun.â
âHAVE A GREAT SUMMER!â
âSEE YA LATER Y/N!â
They all hurry to get some last shots and I grant them a couple of seconds.
âYou too! See you guys later!â I wave goodbye then climb into the car.
Nicole gets in a minute later and gives the driver the address. âYou did great back there,â she compliments.
âEh, it was nothing. I was only answering their questions.â I remove my glasses and get settled in as best as I can for the hour drive home.
She pulls out her binder full of scheduling material for me.
âYes, but you were willing and kind. The public and media appreciate that! Youâre becoming Americaâs Sweetheart!â
I would never admit it to Nicole but that title she keeps pushing makes me anxious every time I hear it. None of this was planned, it was thrown at me. Please donât misunderstand me, Iâm grateful for what I have but geez! When everyone is telling you a whole country adores you, how are you supposed to handle that? Especially at eighteen. It was no more than a year ago I was back in South Carolina and just another girl in high school. Now, Iâm supposed to be âAmericaâs Sweetheart.â Iâll play the part but it doesnât make the job any less intimidating.
__________________________________________________________
My best friends/co-stars, Sam and Penelope, meet up with me for dinner to celebrate my first night back in town after the press tour. The three of us have been dividing our time around the country working on various projects between filming the show. Any time we can all get together is a gift.
Ever since Iâve known Sam Merka, girls flung themselves at him. Even Iâll say it, heâs a good-looking guy. If Grant Gustin had a younger brother, it would be Sam. I donât want anyone to get the wrong idea, weâre just friends. A sibling sort of bond. Since heâs eight years older than me, he likes a big brother.
Though Penelope is older too, one canât tell since I tend to act more mature. Iâm jealous of her sun-kissed long blonde hair and dark brown eyebrows. We all kinda got thrown into our friendship. Having to play life-long friends an hour after meeting for the first time was, to say the least interesting. Five years later, and we are like three peas in a pond. A mini family to have each otherâs back in the big city.
For dinner, we agreed on The Nice Guy, an Italian place in West Hollywood. The most important aspect of the place is the amount of privacy it grants. The interior is a lounge, super lowkey, with booths, couches, and coffee tables but there are no photos allowed. Since no photos can be taken that means the three of us and others can enjoy ourselves in peace. Sam called dibs on being designated driver as per usual as the âbodyguardâ for us girls. The paparazzi tend to hang out around the restaurant because itâs a well-known spot for celebrities.
âMaybe we can slip past them,â Sam says optimistically as we exit the car.
He meets me around the front and Penelope joins us after getting out of the backseat.
âHEY! HEY! HEY!â
From in front of the restaurant, a ripple of cameras begin to take notice of us.
âITâS THE KIDS FROM THE SEASONS OF LIFE!â
âYep, we really snuck past them!â I tease Sam playfully.
He huffs, annoyed with the situation. Sam loves his job but hates the lack of privacy aspect. He isnât a fan of crowds either which I can understand. However, heâs great at masking it behind his charming smile. Itâs what we were trained to do. Yet, Sam is better at managing a crowd mentally overall than I am. He understands how they affect me sometimes. The swarm of photographers rushes up to us. Sam leads the way toward the restaurant door. Penelope remains close, keeping a hand on my forearm to stay together. The cluster follows us down the sidewalk to the building.
âSAM! SAM! HEARD ABOUT THE GQ PHOTOSHOOT! CONGRATS ON GETTING THE COVER MAN!â
Sam chuckles next to me, âthanks, dude!ïżœïżœïżœ
âPENELOPE! RUMOR HAS IT YOUâLL BE SWITCHING OVER TO THE BIG SCREEN!â
âExactly, itâs a rumor!â She replies a matter-of-factly.
The *click* *click* *click* and the flashing lights in the dead of night never fail to overwhelm me. Though, Nicole has told me I never appear overwhelmed when I interact with them. I force on the brave and confident face. Iâm not me when Iâm in front of cameras or important people, Iâm Y/N Voss. Iâm two very different people.
While Iâm lost in thought, I get stuck when one photographer gets too close to my face with his camera and blinds me for a second. Sam and Penelope donât notice my absence amongst the chaos until another photographer barks at the other to back off. Then, I feel Samâs hand slip into mine and he protectively escorts me toward the door with determination.
âANYTHING YOU TWO WANT TO SHARE ABOUT HOLLYN AND ELLIOT FOR NEXT SEASON?â
Hollyn and Elliot are Sam and myâs characters from The Seasons of Life, the show we star in together. Our characters have been on again off again for the past two seasons. According to the last seasonâs finale, the two are currently together, but of course, the season ended on a cliffhanger so their relationship isnât very stable.
âSorry guys, canât share anything!â Sam answers, sounding a tad irritable.
âANYTHING IN REAL LIFE? YOU TWO WERE BOTH IN NEW YORK THIS WEEKEND!â
âThatâs true, but we never have the chance to meet up!â I reply nicely.
Press events for last season have come to an end and work officially begins in no time! Downtime for me is filming and it couldnât come at a better time. Iâve missed being home in Los Angeles. Living out of a suitcase and sleeping each night on a plane isnât the best way to live, at least for me. We finally reach the doors and I thank the heavens.
âOh my gosh! Thereâs no way!â I hear what sounds like girls squealing and I slow down to see where itâs coming from. My hand slips from Samâs as he goes on. When heâs determined to get away from the paparazzi, he can ignore the voices. Yet, when he notices that I do not follow he finally stops.
âExcuse me!â A girl calls amongst the clicking and shouting.
The paparazzi move aside a tad and create a path for me to see two young teens jumping up and down. They must be around fourteen Iâm guessing, younger than me at least. I approach them to see whatâs the matter. I can hardly see anything with all the bright lights.
âHi! How are you?â I greet but once I get closer and cover my eyes with the flashing lights, I recognize them. âSarah! Emma! How are you two?â
These two have been some of my biggest supports. They run a Youtube channel and create content about their reactions to episodes of the series. Somehow they manage to make appearances at any events relating to the show. Iâve met them numerous times at events, so have other members of the cast. Besides being two of the sweets girls in the world, theyâve created a fan page for me on Instagram and Twitter.
âGood, good!â Emma replies eagerly.
âItâs been so long since we last saw you!â Sarah adds.
âIt really has! When was the last time we saw each other? During the press tour?â
They nod in unison as though theyâve rehearsed it.
âWell, group hug!â I hold out my arms and they gladly accept.
âCan we get a picture?â Emma practically begs, bouncing on her heels.
âOf course!â I take Emmaâs phone and hold it out to the crowd of paparazzi. âCould one of you take our picture by chance?â
Many of the guys offer and I select a random one in front of me.
âSqueeze in tight!â I tell the girls as I stand between them and we wrap our arms around each other.
âOne, two, three!â The man takes a couple of shots and hands, Emma, back her phone.
âThank you!â The three of us say together.
We all hover over her phone to check out the pictures.
âSo cute!â I awe at the photos.
âY/N...â Sam places his hand on my back to usher me along.
âOh, my-â Emma covers her mouth.
âSam!â Sarahâs jaw is to the sidewalk.
âHey girls!â he charmingly smiles.
Heâs had the chance to meet them a few times while on the press tour and at other various events. I was there to introduce them which was one of the most entertaining moments of my life. I thought the girls were going to faint!
âCan we ask a quick question? Itâs for our channel!â Sarah nervously bites her lower lip.
âYeah, yeah, anything for you guys!â I answer without hesitation.
Sam wraps his arm around my waist while weâre talking to the girls and I donât think much of it but the cameras begin to go nuts. The men behind them donât say a word since weâre occupied but there they go *click* *click* click*.
âIs there any hope of you two getting together IRL?â Emma questions intently without hesitation.
I press my lips together with amusement and turn my head to Sam. He has the same look of pondering the question. He squints his eyes at me and then the two of us turn to the girls.
âJust friends,â we answer in unison.
âBest friends!â Sam adds playfully.
âBest friends forever ever!â I one-up him.
The two girls laugh with us, but itâs clear theyâre a little disappointed.
âWell, I still bet on you two,â Sarah confidently points out.
Sam and I get a kick out of it. Our viewers want us together too.
âWe better get going, our moms are waiting,â Emma informs us.
âOkay, quick hug!â I order and the four of us group hug.
We say our goodbyes and when the girls disappear the men behind the cameras start yelling.
âYOUâRE GREAT Y/N!â
âHOW DID YOU KNOW THEM?â
âTheir names are Emma and Sarah. They run a popular Youtube channel, Twitter, and Instagram accounts for the show. Super sweet girls those two!â
âDO YOU KNOW ALL YOUR FANS?â
âI try to! I know a good amount!â I grin proudly.
Sam guides me into the restaurant and his hand never leaves my back. All of it is platonic of course, nothing more. As I told the paparazzi before, there isnât enough time in my life for me to share any with someone.

đŸđđđđđđ: When the Queen falls sick and passes away, King Bucky must marry another, preferably the princess of an alliance kingdom nearby, in order to keep peace and order among the lands. However she is the most god awful human being anyone has ever met. Her guard however well she was definitely not what the king expected.

_____________________________
It was the day of the kingâs annual celebration with the many kings throughout the land. That also meant tomorrow Bucky would need to make his final decision whether to accept the hand of Charlotte or return home without a queen.Â
Before Bucky went downstairs to meet with his friends he stared at his appearance in the mirror. He wore gold fabrics with white and his sparkling golden crown bejeweled with diamonds, rubies, emeralds, and other jewels.
He also reminisced on the most recent time heâd spent with you.Â
You were running through the forest, giggling and laughing looking behind yourself to see Bucky not far from you chasing you like a predator. You swiftly moved through the trees with grace sticks and twigs hardly snapping under you while Bucky was far from stealthy. Branches cracking and crunching underneath him.
You moved behind a large oak tree hoping you lost Bucky. You peeked around the tree to see if he had stopped to search for you but when you looked he was lost in sight. You moved up a bit to look harder and yet he was nowhere to be found.Â
You moved back to spot only to find Bucky inches away from you scaring you.
âJames!â you shrieked.
âYou frightened me,â you pushed his shoulder.Â
âIs that so?â he moved his face closer to yours.Â
âYes. Donât do that again,â you cupped his face.
âBut darling, it was hilarious. You shouldâve seen your face. Priceless,â he leaned in to kiss you but you turned your face away.
âOh come on,â Bucky grabbed your waist and pulled you close; nuzzling his face in your neck lovingly.
âNo, you scared me half to death. Iâm not going to kiss after that.â
âIf I promise to not do it again will you let me kiss you?â you falsely hesitated making him chuckle at your antics.
âFine.â
Bucky cupped your jaw and leaned tortuously slow. His lips brushing so softly against yours like he was dragging out time as much as he could possibly do himself. His nose brushing against your own as his lips moved more passionately.Â
You and Bucky had kept this secret affair since that day in the field where he kissed you. Charlotte had become more distant as time went on and at first Bucky had tried to continue getting to know her but she was always locked up in her bedroom reading letters from someone Bucky had yet to discover.Â
So he gave up and spent most of his time either with his friends or with you. It had gotten to a point where Charlotte and Bucky only saw each other for breakfast and supper when everyone would meet to eat together.
Her father would frequently ask of you two and Charlotte was always very quick to lie about what her and Bucky would be doing or talking about. Of course to appease the fellow king Bucky would play along.Â
Now Bucky and Charlotte would attend the ball together and neither of them were rather ecstatic about the idea. They didnât exactly hate each other but Charlotte wasnât fond of Bucky and Bucky didnât like her childish attitude and behavior he often saw.Â
But nonetheless here they are attending a party together as if they were going to spend the rest of their lives together.
âLook at you. You look dashing,â Natasha said hugging Bucky when he emerged from his room.Â
âYou look great, Buck,â Steve said, patting his friendâs shoulder.
âImpressive,â said Sam.
They headed towards the ballroom that was massive already filled with many wealthy people to lords and ladies and dukes and kings. People of many cultures too. Some were even rich traders and higher classmen. However, everyone was making the room seem a bit crowded.Â
Bucky eyes landed on Charlotte wearing a large baby pink ball gown that was quite beautiful heâd admit. She was standing with her parents as they greeted people entering the party. He hadnât seen you yet but his heart was racing at the thought of you with a magnificent dress, dressed to the nines.
He greeted the king and queen as did his friends and he took Charlotteâs hand to lead her down the beautiful staircase to the party. There was live music playing so Bucky looked to Charlotte and asked her to dance.Â
She said yes and they began to move softly with the music. Something seemed to catch Charlotteâs eye as her mood changed quickly to be much more lively. Bucky searched for what it could be but was very distracted by you who had just entered the room.
You were ethereal. A goddess bestowed to bless everyoneâs eyes. Bucky nearly fell over at the sight of you. You wore a golden dress similar to your knightly armor. Golden breastplate that covered your neck and shoulders, golden sheet covering your arms and circling your legs to leave a long golden train that dragged behind you. You were golden.
You haven't seen Bucky yet but you were very excited. Heâs the reason youâre dressed for the party in the first place. You hate these parties because they were so useless and crowded and you just didnât like them. But you wanted to see Bucky again and you were willing to sacrifice some of your time to this party.
You found Nat, Steve, and Sam; all aware of your a little forbidden affair, thankful theyâve kept quiet but they noticed how youâve changed Bucky. He was more happy and looked like a man in love. You were perfect for him.Â
So they stayed quiet in hopes Bucky would configure some sort of plan so that youâd be capable of receiving his hand in marriage.Â
âHey guys. You all look beautiful,â you said hugging each one of them.Â
âBack at you,â Nat said holding your waist, âBuckyâs gonna freak when he sees you.â
âLooks like he already has,â Steve said, turning his head towards Buck who stood standing and gawking at you.Â
You felt shy being under his hungry gaze, but continued to hold conversation with Steve, Sam, and Nat seeing as Charlotte was still with him.Â
âYou should close your mouth, youâll catch flies,â Charlotte said to Bucky.
âIâm sorry? I donât know what your- your talking about,â Bucky whispered completely flustered.
âI know youâve been sneaking around. I saw you two at the field when it first happened,â Charlotte whispered to Bucky.Â
âIâm so sorry I⊠I-â Bucky stammered.
âDonât worry I havenât told anyone,â she smirked.
âAnd whyâs that?âÂ
Charlotte looked to a boy who stood at the edge of the dance floor staring at them.
âThe dukeâs son,â Bucky said.
âWe met years ago. Since then weâve talked a lot; sent letters. I love him and he loves me. But we canât be together.â
âWhyâs that? He seems like a better candidate than I am. Iâm old.â
This made her chuckle.
âMy father wants me to marry a king. Henry isnât.â
âIâm sorry.â
âItâs fine. Truthfully, I know you love Y/n.â
âI donât know if love um, you know, uh,â Bucky stuttered again.
âYou love her. Itâs ok,â Charlotte laughed.
âWhat if she doesnât love me back? What if she thinks this is some sort of fling? Maybe-â
âShe loves you. I donât think Iâve ever seen her so happy before. Itâs kinda weird; and gross. And someone like Y/n wouldnât waste a breath on someone who could get her in trouble unless she loved them.â
There was a nice silence that settled between them until Charlotte spoke up again. He went to look for you again but he saw you walking back up the stairs. Were you leaving already? You hadnât come to him yet.
âSheâs not a party person; surprised she even came out. Go to her.â
âThank you. And tell Henry you love him.â
âHe knows,â she laughed.
Bucky stepped away and followed your path completely leaving the party and celebration behind him for you.

Eroge
Pairing: Leviathan x Reader
Word Count: 3,778
Preview: You happen upon Levi at a bad time, and accidentally end up getting sucked into his video game. It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that said game is a kinky eroge.
âCanât you get me out?!â
âAhâumâit says that the only way to get a player out of the game is the make themâumâclimax?"
** Please note that this is a cross-posting **
This chapter was originally posted on 2/8/2020 as a part of my âDevil Domsâ series on AO3.
[New text from Leviathan]
Leviathan: Hey!! Come to my room today!! I need your help with a boss raid!!
You: Okay!!
âLevi!â you call out, knocking on his door. Itâs close to 9pm, but he hadnât texted you until a short while before dinner, and youâd already agreed to proof read Beelâs literature essay for him following the meal. Youâd assumed that coming to Leviathanâs room whenever would be fine, but when you hear the Avatar of Envy startle from withinâsomething crashing to the floor and a scream followingâyou wonder if now isnât the best time.
âAh! No!â he cries out, something else clambering onto the floor, and you knock on the door again.
âLevi? Are you alright?â
Without waiting for him to answer, you test the doorknob and push the door open when you find that itâs unlocked.
âN-No! Donât come in! I--,â he begins to say, but quickly realizes heâs already too late when he sees your head pop through the doorway. Your eyes land on him. Heâs kneeling beside his desk, face red as a tomato, and a few figurines, a bottle ofâŠlotion?, and a controller are scattered at his feet.
âAre you okay?â you ask, hesitantly stepping into the room and closing the door behind you. Leviâs hands shake, his gaze turning down to the floor in front of him.
âIâm fine! Totally fine!â he nearly yells in response, hurriedly scooping up the items scattered across the floor. His eyes dart back up to you, and he spins on his knees, facing away before standing up.
You frown, wondering why heâs acting so weird.
âIs now a bad time? Maybe we can do the raid tomorrââ
âNo!! It has to be today!!â he responds in a panic, his head whipping every which direction. After a second, he rushes to his bed and gingerly sets the figurines down. He then stands up, still facing away, and glances at you over his shoulder. As soon as he makes eye contact with you, his blush deepens.
âWe can do it now! I justâŠI need to use the bathroom first!â he says, and stiffly walks to another door nearby. You watch him, concerned. Youâve seen Levi flustered before, but this is an entirely new level.
Still a little unsure, you slowly pad further into the room. After a few seconds, his monitor catches your eye, and you make your way over. On screen, thereâs the start menu of a game. Itâs pink, and twinklyâlittle starbursts shining all across the menu. However, thereâs no title to the game, or indication of what itâs about. The only options on screen are âResume Gameâ, âImport Character & Continueâ or âQuitâ.
Well, if this is the game weâre playing, I might as well get a head start and make my character, you think to yourself, scooping his wireless controller off the ground. You take a seat in his green and black leather chair, figuring itâs not a big deal since Levi isnât around at the moment.
Pressing the joystick down, you hover over the âImport Character & Continueâ option, and then hit â. A text box pops up.
âIs the current player the one you would like to import?â
A âYesâ or âNoâ option appears, and you click over to âYesâ. However, as you confirm your choice, an electric tingle rolls over your entire body. You gasp, the controller falling out of your hands, and it clatters to the floor.
The sound manages to reach Leviâwho is still hidden in the bathroomâand he opens the door slightly.
âY/N?â he calls, âwhat was that?â
Thereâs no response, and Levi peeks his head out a bit farther. His eyes scan the room, and thereâs no sign of you. Just his wireless controller on the ground beside his chair, andâ
Levi notices the screen on his computer has changed, and his heart drops into his stomach.
âNo no no no no no!â he panics, darting out of the bathroom and to his desk. He holds the monitor between his hands, orange eyes widening as the screen changes yet againâthe level finally having loaded. Immediatelyâyou appear on screen.
âLeviathan?!â you call out, scanning your surroundings. Youâre no longer in the House of Lamentation, but what looks to be a cityâor, more specifically, an alleyway within a city. Tall brick walls cage you on either sideâa dead end behind you, and a street a few hundred feet ahead.
âLevi!â you try again, and this time you hear a response.
âY/N!â it sounds like heâs far awayâhis voice echoing down the alley. You open your mouthârelieved to hear himâbut he doesnât sound calm at all.
âWhy did you do that?! You stupid normie! Now what am I going to do?! Oh my GOD. OOOOO MY GODââ
âLevi! What is going on?! Where am I, and why are you freaking o--?â
Before you can finish, a dark shadow begins to materialize out of the pavement in front of you. You startle, back tracking. Ever so slowly, the dark mass rises upâtentacle-like arms whipping out and dragging across the floor.
You stare in fear, gasping when you roughly run into the brick wall behind you.
âLevi!â you yell, frustrated at his silence.
âIâUGH. Okay! Listen! I was playing a game, and this is the final boss! You totally came to my room at the worst time--!â
Heâs halfway between exasperation, and a whine, but you donât have time for his rambling at the moment.
âWhat kind of game?â you interrupt, your eyes training on the abomination in front of you once more. By now, itâs no longer a dark shadow. The mess of slick limbs has taken on a purple hueâtwo large eyes appearing at the front of itâs torso.
âUmâŠâ
Leviathan sounds more embarrassed than youâve ever heard him before, and realization begins to dawn on youâboth fear and arousal mingling in your gut.
âLeviâŠ,â you speak again, your tone soft, and a little scared. The monster makes eye contact with you, and its tentacles begin inching forward.
âIâitâsâ,â he struggles to admit the truth, but at this point you donât need him to say it. You realize what heâd be playing: a very kinky erogeâin which the final boss is apparently a tentacle monster.
âCanât you get me out?!â you ask, shivering as one of the tentacles begins curling up your leg. Thereâs the sound of a game case clicking open, and papers being flipped. You assume heâs reading the manual.
All the while, another tentacle reaches out and touches your wrist. You immediately jump away from the feeling, but the tentacle is persistent. It darts outâsecuring your wrist in a split second. You panicâattempting to pull free, but itâs clear that the monster is much stronger.
With little effort, it forces your arm above your head, and another tentacle darts out to capture your other wrist. By the time Leviâs voice returns to the space around you, both of your wrists are secured above your head by a single tentacleâyour feet barely touching the ground.
In his room, staring at the screen, Leviathan swallows harshly. The tent in his pants twitches at the sight of you.
âAhâumâit says that the only way to get a player out of the game is to make themâumâclimax?â
His voice pitches high at the end. Clearly, heâs embarrassed to be saying it, and you donât blame him. However, right now, youâre pretty sure that if either of you have the right to be embarrassed, itâs you.
âDo youâŠhave a hand in completing the level?â you ask him when the monster begins to idle. As if on cue, a bold, white âLEVEL STARTâ appears in the space above you. Leviâs hands tighten around his controller, and his tongue darts out to lick his lips.
âIâŠâ
You can hear many emotions in his voiceâeverything from shame, to regret, and maybe even a little bit of excitement. You sigh, your thighs rubbing together shyly. If it was up to you, you would have built an emergency escape option into the game, but since thereâs clearly only one path to getting you outâŠ
âItâs okay, Levi. I trust you.â
And itâs true. Despite the monster in front of you, itâs reassuring to know that at least Levi has some control. AndâŠitâs not like youâve never seen anything involving a tentacle monster before. Like Levi, you enjoy anime, and at some point, had discovered hentai. Youâd always felt shameful when becoming aroused while watching, but the idea of being stimulated so much at once is undeniably appealing to you.
So, while your current predicament wasnât exactly planned, it wasnât completely unwelcome either.
âY/N, IâŠ,â Levi sounds so torn. If heâs being honest with himself, he really wants to play the level. And the fact that youâre willing to put your trust in him and let him play it a huge turn on. HoweverâŠif he had just been more careful, and hadnât freaked out and left you alone, then you wouldnât be in this predicament to begin with.
âLevi,â you speak up again, and he glances at his computer screen to find you smiling up at him. You send him a little wink, and while he can tell youâre still nervous, thereâs an air of genuine reassurance about you as well.
âHave fun. Iâm yours to use.â
And with that, Levi needs to hear nothing else.
His tongue pokes out to wet his lips, heart thundering against his ribs, and his fingers tighten against the controller in his hands.
âIttadakimasu,â he whispers, an edge to his voice that reflects his hunger. You blush, realizing how turned-on he is by your words, but donât have long to think on it. The tentacle wrapped around your leg inches up to meet your womanhoodârubbing it through your leggings.
You gasp, arms straining against their restraints, but of course itâs no use.
Behind youâperhaps purposely hidden, so you canât see the wordsâan array of options appears.
â â Play with breasts
⯠â Rip off clothes
âł â Spank
⥠â Fuck pussy
Levi reads through them quickly. All of the choices are tempting, but he doesnât want to be too rough with you starting off.
His thumb hits the â button, and a tentacle wiggles forwardâcurling around your waist and then wrapping around your breasts. You keen, thighs pressing together as heat begins threading through your limbs. Even while clothed, the sensation of having no control while being touched in your most sensitive areas is more arousing than youâd care to admit.
The tentacle at your chest curls around one of your breastsâsqueezing, and tugging at the mound. Your other breast is prodded at by the round head of the purple appendageâattempting to locate your sensitive nipple through your clothing.
Again, an option appears on screen.
RB â Remove shirt
Leviâs finger hesitates over the bumper, precum beginning to pool against the crotch of his sweats. What heâs doing feels like a crime, butâŠyour words of reassurance resound in his head, and he pushes the button.
In reaction, the tentacle at your chest momentarily stops its ministrationsâdiverting downward. The slimy arm sneaks beneath the hem of your t-shirt, crawling its way up between your breasts. And then, with a might tug away from you, it rips your shirt up the middle. Your bra is the only thing left shielding your chest away from public view, but it doesnât stay in place for long.
Apparently part of a package deal with the âRemove shirtâ option, the tentacle yanks the lacy white fabric away from your bodyâthe garment disappearing from around you with a definitive rip. Immediately your breasts spill into the open air, and you flush bright red, realizing that this is the first time Levi will have seen any part of you so intimately.
Seated in front of the PC, the Avatar of Envy sets his controller atop his deskâprepared to push the buttons with one hand (no matter how lame of a gamer it makes him), while his other hand finally sinks into his lap. He palms himself through his pants, nearly moaning at the momentary relief. However, he doesnât give into his desires just yetâhis eyes still glued to the screen as the monster begins toying with your tits once more.
This time, with no fabric in the way, youâre feeling much more sensitive as the tentacle resumes its movements. The purple limb wraps around one of your breasts, pulling and squeezing the soft flesh, while the head of the tentacle swirls around your hardened nipple. You tremble at the feeling, managing to hold in any sounds that threaten to escape youâŠat least, until an additional tentacle hovers over your neglected breastâthe end of the limb opening like a pair of lips. It wastes no time locking onto your nippleâsucking harshly and causing a lewd gasp to escape you.
Finally, with two tentacles assaulting your tits, and a third still rubbing between your legs, youâre beginning to fall apart at the seams. Your breathing becomes unsteadyâwhines and moans rolling off your tongue as the monster continues to follow Leviâs commands.
While you canât hear it, the purple haired demonâs breathing has turned rugged as well. His dick is so hard now that itâs painful, but he still doesnât grant himself relief. Not yet, not like this.
âLevi,â you moan, and you hear a quiet groan in response. The Avatar of Envy reaches down between his legs to pinch the base of his cockâstopping himself from cumming at the sound.
âShit,â he curses to himself quietly, his eyes flitting back up to the computer when another round of choices appear.
â â Fuck pussy
⯠â Fuck mouth
âł â Fuck ass
⥠â Other
Heat creeps up Leviathanâs neck as he reads through them. The game had been equally as blunt on previous levels, but now that youâre involved, he wishes there was some sugarcoating in place.
His pointer finger moves to hover over the â, but he hesitates. As he mulls over the many thoughts in his head, your moans reach his ears once more, and he immediately makes his decision. He wonât last if you continue sounding like that.
In game, you begin to whine his nameâneeding something more, anythingâwhen all of the sudden your mouth is filled. You gasp, your eyes squeezing shut as a tentacle presses between your lipsâthe slick limb moving across your tongue. The monster fucks your mouth at a steady paceâtesting the waters. You gag when the tentacle ventures a little too deep, and it seems like the game takes noteâlessening the frequency in which it forces you to try and deepthroat.
However, each time you gag, your nipples and clit feel more sensitive than before. At this point, the lack of true contact on your womanhood is turning into torture, and you whine around the length in your mouthâyour thighs rubbing together around the limb still sliding up against your pelvis.
Levi understand what youâre asking, and taps âĄ. Instantly another line of options appear aside from the main ones, and Levi is relieved to find the one heâs searching for.
LT â Give oral
He hits the trigger, watching as the tentacle tending to your lower half pauses in its job. It reaches up to grab the waistband of your leggings, and in one fell swoop tugs them down your legs. You squeal at the sensationâeyes popping open and glancing downward, attempting to see whatâs occurring.
You note an additional limb sliding across the ground towards you. It reaches up, curling around one of your legs, and hiking it off the ground. Suddenly, your pussyâshining with your arousalâis very much on display for Levi to see.
âOh, fuck,â you hear him groan, wishing you could see him. Knowing that what heâs doing to you is getting him off makes your pussy clench, and you wonder if thatâs his plan. However, the tentacle that had been teasing you up until now doesnât fill you as you expect it too. Instead, the tip of the tentacle peels openâa smaller appendage sneaking out of the opening.
To you, it looks similar to a tongue.
âMmph!â you gasp when it licks between your foldsâfinally coming in contact with your aching clit. Your spine curvesâhips pressing downward as tentacle pleasures you in earnest.
Tears prick at your eyesâthe amount of sensations afflicting your body at once almost overwhelming. You mouth is fullâtits being sucked, and licked, and squeezedâand now your clit is getting the attention itâs been so desperately craving. Really, itâs enough to drive you insane.
Eyes squeezing shutâyour thighs shake as the pressure building in your gut threatens to snap.
âPlease cum, Y/N,â you hear Levi begïżœïżœbreathless. Youâre not sure if you had been meant to hear his silent plea, but itâs enough to push you over the finish line.
You climax with a cryâthe sound muffled by the tentacle in your mouth as its rhythm slowsâsensing your release. The tongue between your legs continues lickingâdragging as much pleasure out of you as possibleâwhile at the same time the tentacles on your breasts give the mounds one last round of love.
By the time the waves of pleasure have diminished, your arousal is leaking down the inside of your thigh.
Above your head, a bold âLEVEL COMPLETEDâ appears in the air, and the tentacles begin to retreat. You breathe deeply as your mouth is freedâthe slippery limbs uncurling themselves and returning to the main body of the monster. Andâas soon as your feet touch the ground, and your wrists are releasedâthe scenery around you shifts.
Leviâs hands scramble to grab you as you materialize beside him back in his roomâyour legs giving out as he does so. You slump against him, still struggling to catch your breath. Youâre relieved that itâs overâyouâre not sure how much more of that you could have takenâbut youâre jumbled out of your serenity as Levi hefts you up so youâre seated on the edge of his desk.
âLevi?â you question, eyes darting up to his face. Thereâs a serious look in his eyes, and you watch in surprise as the Avatar of Envy shoves his sweats down his thighsâhis cock weeping against his abs.
âIâm sorry,â he says, swallowing your groan with a sloppy kiss as he slides his length between your walls. His voice is shakyâheâs been holding back for too long. âI need this. I n-need you. Please.â
âFuck, Levi,â you groan, your pussy tightening around him as he begins chasing after his own release. His pace is quick, and sharp. Itâs clear that he wonât last long. He had been waiting for thisâfor youâand while you know you wonât be able to orgasm with himâyou can at least egg him on.
âYou feel so good,â you speak, tits bouncing at the intensity of his thrusts. Your hands reach up to hug his skullâthe demonâs breath hot against your neck as miniscule whines escape his throat. His grip on your waist tightensâblue colored fingernails digging small crescents into your skinâand with a few more snaps of his hips, heâs releasing inside of you.
âFuck,â he chokes, forehead pressing against your collarbone he rides out his bliss.
After a moment, he pulls backâhis cock slipping out of you, and immediately his seed is sliding from your heatâmingling with your own arousal. The sight has you both turning a bright shade of red, and Leviathan begins to panicâhis head whipping every which way in search of a towel, or literally anything.
You laugh at him, your hands reaching up to grip his sides, and he finally pauses. His gaze turns back to youâhis orange eyes shy now that the intensity of the situation has died down, but you only smile at him. Tired, but reassuring. Like always.
âDid you enjoy yourself?â you ask, giggling when Levi sheepishly nods his head. âIâm glad then.â
âIâm sorry,â he speaks up after a moment, his hands reaching beneath you. He cradles you in his arms, carrying you to his bed. âPlease donât hate me now.â
âI could never,â you tell him honestly, your palm cupping his cheek as he bends over to set you down. His eyes meet yoursâstill apologeticâand you cough, your face turning pink and gaze darting away.
âAnd besides, IâŠumâŠactually really enjoyed that. So please donât feel sorry.â
A wave of relief washes over Leviathan, and he topples you over with a hug.
âUGH. I was so worried! But man, that was sooooo hot!! I canât believe you let me do that to you, and you enjoyed it!! I knew I liked you for a reason, Y/N!â
His outburst of emotion has you gigglingâhis face rubbing against your chest as he releases all his pent-up feelings. However, after a minute his words and movements stop, and you open your eyes, glancing down at him.
Heâs looking at you with a serious face, but his eyes shine with excitement.
âCan I import you and start the game again? Oh! Or, if I buy more games like that will you let me make you my main character? Please?â
âI--,â youâre not sure what to sayâfeeling embarrassed all over again at the idea. He seems so enthralled by the idea, and while youâre completely flattered that heâd enjoyed the experience so much that he actually wants to do it again, right now your brain isnât able to entertain the thought. Youâre too exhausted.
âM-Maybe?? Ask me later.â
âHuhuhuhu okay~!â he giggles, hugging you tightly once more, and you canât help but smile.
As dorky as he isâthe Avatar of Envy is as equally endearing.
âHey Levi?â
âHmm?â
âWhy didnât you make the monster fuck me in the game?â
Your question has him turning pinkâhis gaze shying away from you.
âBecauseâŠâ
âBecause?â
âBecause yourpussyismine--!â
You frown, not understanding.
âWhat?â
âBecause your pussy is mine!!â he yells, his embarrassment exploding as you force the admission out of him.
Your eyes go wide, cheeks reddening at his declaration.
Well, you think, feeling like you may need a cold shower. That settles that.

Byeeeeee!
Authorâs note: Todayâs work will be a little different as there will be singing. The chapter with the bard is gonna have singing? Go figure haha So if you see a sentence in Italics, that means someone is singing. Bold and italics represents various people singing as a group. The song in question is called twiddles. There's different versions of it but the one I chose is from the misbehavin maidens. Great group but all their work ranges from innuendos to straight up not safe for work so listen at your peril. I have now completed my responsible adult duties haha. hereâs a link to the chosen song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iS1-_fKF5ug
Summary:Â Oliver has quite the task ahead of him as the group splits to achieve their goals. Leading Sel and Flora, the young bard will have to think quick on his feet to ensure this mission is a success. Luckily he's an old hand at this. Ironically the one person who could distract him may make a surprise appearance tonight.
-----
Oliver stood quietly, arms crossed and his mind thoughtful as the group prepared to go their separate ways. While ideally nothing would go wrong, that was a childish belief: Every person and robotic being here knew safety was not guaranteed in their line of work.
Even the old man knew the risks.
Oliver hated doing nothing. He thrived when he was busy, focused on whatever task required his attention whether it be being a better bard or upholding the Choirâs values. Too many ghosts and regrets lingered on the edges of his mind and he found the best solution was to simply keep occupied.
But that was his coping mechanism, not everyone else. He knew better than to rush his team: The party would last at least another few hours and beside the goal of getting Sel to the third floor, there was nothing else to do. No information to gather, nothing to review. Let them have their moment, it was good for morale.
Terri and Flora were sickeningly adorable: Hands clasped tightly with Terri tearfully asking her girlfriend to not poison everyone. Flora gave a halfhearted promise while as they shared a tender kiss. Terri noticed her less than enthused tone but refused to press the matter further.
Tyrell stood awkwardly to the side, his face twisted in a strange mixture of sick and excited. He fidgeted with something in his pocket, seeking comfort from whatever lay within. Given the shape of the bulge and size, Oliver guessed it was a knife.
Sel stood nearby, motionless in the shadows of the alley. They hadnât moved in some time though he suspected the automaton was simply waiting for the next phase of the plan.
âAlrightâ Oliver spoke up, his voice firm yet gentle âTimes up. You have your assignments?â
Uneven murmuring responded.
âLetâs go.â
Oliver, Sel and Flora went down one end of the alley, Terri and Tyrell disappearing in the opposite direction.
-----
It didnât take long for the trio to find the main streets of the Merchant Ward and make their way towards the Brambleoak banking office. The crowds werenât as thick as they had been during the day but Oliver knew everyone out and about did so with a purpose.
âBard.â Flora asked without warning, breaking the awkward silence âQuestion.â
âAnswer.â Oliver cheekily replied.
Flora glared.
Oliver coughed âYes?â
âYou are a First Chair Soprano correct?â
âYes maâam.â
âYet you are so young. How did you manage that? I thought First Chair ranks were only reserved for experienced or particularly skilled members. You donât seem to be very magically powerful.â
Oliver paused for a moment, trying to best answer the question.
In a way Flora was correct in her assessment: He wasnât particularly powerful as a spellcasting bard. Unlike Flora who clearly committed herself fully to nature and thus druidic magic, Oliver had only recently thrown himself into the magical arts.
Unless you were a wizard who studied the secrets of the universe with a very intimate and well versed knowledge of magic, most spellcasters drew their power from sources of existence: Clerics from their gods, Druids from nature, Warlocks from something beyond mortal existence yet not quite a deity, sorcerers because a family member fucked around with pure incomprehensible concepts. Magic was the fabric of the universe and the more you threw yourself into a source of power, the more the source threw itself into you, guiding your hand and your spells.
Of course each, wizards exempt, were limited in their spellcasting options. Clerics were powerful holy/unholy practitioners but couldnât command plant life to save their lives. Druids were in tune with nature and the weather and all the lovely flora and fauna but ask them to superimpose an image onto something and theyâd give you a dumbfounded look. Warlocks kinda just do whatever their sugar patrons felt like lending.
Magic bards drew their power from the arts: Drawing, singing, poetry, even witty and funny satire. Bards were in tune with life, with existence. Art could heal, could hurt, could make you feel happy and sad. It could make you feel like a whole new person or perhaps take you to a time and place youâd forgotten. Bards sung the song of life and Oliver was no exception.
However, Oliver still wasnât sure what he could do exactly. His magical muscle was average on a good day and he could only cast a few spells before needing a good nightâs rest. The basic healing spells and comprehension language he cast earlier today had taken a good chunk of his energy but he relied more on his wit than raw magical strength. He discovered creative and useful ways to cast his spells like amplifying dissonance noises to distract and disorient foes or temporarily place another personâs image over himself. Magic was as much about creativity as it was skill, pushing the limits of what you can do with your particular brand of spells.
âIâm clever.â Oliver answered honestly âThe whole magic of the arts is new to me but Iâve been in the Choir for a long time now. I used to be Tenor like Sel here but more fast talking than breaking and entering. I guess they carried over my old position into my new one.â
Flora nodded, satisfied âThat answers much. How long have you been a bard?â
âFew years now.â Oliver checked the street sign to ensure they were on the right path âThe magic part is going on 3 years.â
âI see.â Flora scratched her chin âIâve been a druid my whole life so it is a strange concept to be so new to the spellcasting arts yet hold such a high rank.â
Oliver gave a casual shrug âNot sure what you want me to say. Weâre here by the way.â
The bank looked as unkempt as Oliver had remembered: Faded, peeling green paint with gaudy gray stone pillars. Two guards in green uniforms stood in front of the massive reddish brown doors that led into the bank.
âLeaâs mercenaries.â Sel pointed out âThey are not letting anyone in.â
âCorrection.â Oliver brushed off nonexistent dirt from his washed-out outfit âTheyâre not letting nobodies in. Luckily tonight weâre somebodies. Follow my lead.â
Oliver let out a tense breathe before strolling forward, his mannerism cocky yet unsteady. He reached the top of the steps when two sharp looking blades reached out to stop him.
âHaltâ The elvish woman spoke with a hint of irritation âYou lost?â
âNot at all!â Oliver beamed with a smile that was too wide to be natural âIâm here for the party. There is a party inside no?â
âNoâ The human man spat out.
Oliver gave a forgetful grin âOh? I couldâve sworn Brambleoak was having some sort of charity event tonight. Iâd show you my invite but I think I misplaced it.â
The elvish woman sneered âRight. How convenient for you having lost your special one of a kind invite.â
âPfft.â Oliver scoffed âSpecial one of a kind invite? Reiner hands them out like candy. Probably find one in a gutter nearby.â
The guards shared an unspoken understanding with one another.
âWell.â The human began âLetâs pretend that is true.â
âIt is but go on.â
The humanâs eyes narrowed âWhy should we let you in? You dress rather poorly for someone claiming to be in Reinerâs usual circles.â
Oliver let out an exaggerated gasp as he puffed out his chest âDo you know who I am?â
âUmm no.â
Oliver growled unhappily, his fist clenched tightly within his pocket âI am rich! I AM POWERFUL! AND I DEMAND ACCESS!â
As quick as lightning, Oliver flung a handful of gold coins towards the pair. The two reeled back in surprised as the money clanked onto the smooth marble floor. A moment hardly passed before the guards were shoving the loose coins into their tunic pockets like hungry dogs. They straightened up, eyes alive with greed.
âOf course sirâ The elvish woman bowed her head in apologize âDeeply sorry for that.â
âPlease go ahead.â
Oliver gave a self satisfied nod before moving past the pair only to stop as he heard the sounds of swords scraping each other. He turned backwards to see the guards barring access to Flora and Sel.
Flora looked back and forth between the guards, her eyes calculating and cold. Sel stood still but clearly at the ready for any sort of trouble.
âTheyâre with me.â
The Elvish woman shook her head âWe said weâd let you in. These two? Definitely not Reinerâs usual prey.â
âThey arenâtâ Oliver admitted âBut I need them.â
The human turned to him, suspicion in his eyes âWhy?â
âSheâŠâ Oliver pointed lazily towards Flora âIs my street doctor.â
âStreet doctor? As inâŠ.?â
Oliver gave a cheery wink âThe fun kind.â And for give measure, he added a weak shiver to his act âUgggggh I feel cold, are you cold? Itâs cold.â
Before anyone could say anything, Oliver began shaking. He rubbed his hands for âwarmthâ while swaying back and forth.
âUh oh.â Flora spoke dully, pushing past the guards and holding Oliver steady âHeâs crashing. I need to give him his umm medicine.â
âMedicine?â Oliver repeated, his voice soft yet manic âYes medicine. I need it. I NEED IT!â
Folks began to turn their way, the guards shifting uncomfortably under the sudden attention they were receiving.
âAnd this one?â The Elvish woman gestured to Sel.
Oliver began to rock back and forth, his voice a harsh whisper. âGuard. Guard. Guard guard guard guard.â
The human threw up his hands in defeat âBah! Get him in there and fixed! Any trouble and Iâll personally come over to beat your asses.â
âThank you sir.â Flora murmured through gritted teeth. She guided Oliver and Sel through the doors and into the party within.
Flora sighed as Sel cracked the tension out of their fingers. Oliver straightened up, wiping the sweat from his brow.
True to his expectations, the bank had been altered to be suitable for a charity event: Torches lined the walls, casting the building into a bright light. The desks normally found on the floor were gone as to allow a more spacious setting. Oliver counted a handful of guards scattered about, wandering about for any sign of trouble. All except for the lone guard beyond the empty elevated platform who stood in front of the stairway to the upper floors.
âWhat now?â Flora asked
âSplit up. Sel stay close to the door, Flora and I will figure out a distraction.â
âSounds good.â
And without another word, Oliver was swallowed whole into the crowd.
-----
It had taken an hour for Oliver to figure out what kind of distraction he would need.
The patrols themselves hadnât been very difficult to plan for: They would move randomly about, keeping an eye on the party and each other. He counted about 6 of them total and each one of them was easily starstruck. At the sign of any disagreement, they would swarm in groups of three and quickly threaten any troublemakers into compliance. However, upon meeting anyone with even the smallest bit of fame, they would subtly motion to each other and make their way as one to the person in question, hoping for a glance or the chance for an autograph.
So the floor guards were no problem but the one standing watch over the door was much more difficult. Evidently Lea was smart enough to give the most important job to the most responsible of his idiots. The stairway guard or Stairy as Oliver labeled him, would not budge at the sign of any trouble. Loud arguments, agitated party goers, a waiter being tripped (sorry it was for science buddy). None of these would pull him from his post. Celebrities wouldnât either. Any time his buddies motioned to a famous person, he would shrug his shoulders and stay put.
Oliver was beginning to wonder if Flora needed to poison Stairy until he noticed something about half way into his observations: Stairy was a music lover. Specifically a cute girl music lover.
His gaze would wander every time he caught sight of a pretty girl who happened to be too close to him. Oliver wasnât sure at first so he decided to test his theory. With his pocket change lessened, Oliver noticed how often a girl would catch Stairyâs eye. His attention didnât shift when they fell in front of him, obviously in distress, or walked slower allowing him to enjoy the view longer but Oliver caught him smiling and tapping his foot when the odd girl would sing. He even staggered away from his door a few steps at a time before catching himself and returning to his post.
So the best distraction would be a girl who could sing and have some level of fame attached to her name.
Oddly specific and Oliver hadnât the slightest idea how he was going to mange that. He was attempting to solve this puzzle when something caught his ear.
âGet off me you mulched dirt licker!â
That rather unique set of cursing could only mean one thing: Flora.
Oliver turned to where he last spotted her and found the young druid being hassled by a tall man in an elegant uniform.
Oliver noticed the guards were looking about, not yet spotting the commutation but aware something was going on. He needed to act first if he wanted to stop Flora deciding to kill everyone in the room.
The bard quickly slipped into the crowd, darting and weaving between any and everyone he could. He saw Flora slip a small vial into her hand as the man towered over her.
âI jus wanna dance.â the manâs words slurred out of his mouth âA pretty thing like yo shou wanna danceâ
Floraâs eyes narrowed angrily âFor the last time you dried poop stain, LEAVE ME ALONE!â
Flora pulled back her hand, prepared to throw the mysterious vial at the drunkâs face.
âWhoa!â Oliver cried out, tightly grasping onto Floraâs wrist âWhat seems to be the problem?â
âNothing I canât solve on my own.â Flora coldly glanced towards the drunken man.
âOne sec.â
Oliver eyed the man carefully, absorbing every little detail he could.
He could see the muscles strain against the fabric of his light green tunic so this man worked in something physically laborious. The sheathed sword on his belt weight seemed to throw him off balance with every step. His gaze was unsteady and Oliver could see his pupils dilating wildly.
So this man was physically fit, armed with a sword in a charity event for the rich people and wearing light green tunic while currently drunk.
âYou should leave her aloneâ Oliver said, sarcasm dipping from each word âYou are so not her type.â
âSo?â The man hiccupped âWhatâs the big deal?â
âSo sheâs got a girlfriend you idiot.â Oliver gestured with his hand âBesides you should go before your boss Lea gets here. Iâm betting he wonât be happy one of his undercover mercs is currently drunk on the job. Of course I could always tell your captain whatâs going on. Thatâs him over there right?â
Oliver gestured to the closest guard making his way towards the trio. He didnât look any different than any guards but Oliver noticed his green was a shade darker than the rest. Lea probably used different hues to signify rank in his mercenaries.
The drunkâs face paled as he fidgeted nervously. He rose his hands in surrender, eyes darting between the two âSorry.â
âAny trouble?â The captain approached, his hand tightly held around the hilt of his blade.
Oliver beaned cheerfully, trying his best to pull attention away from the fuming Flora âNot at all my good sir. This man simply mistook us for someone else, correct?â
The drunk nodded slowly âMy bad. Forgive my intrusion.â
The captain gave a cold smirk âApologizes. Mikey?â
The drunk flinched âYes sir?â
âA word in private. Now.â
Oliver let out a sigh of relief as the captain dragged Mikey away..
âYou shouldâve let me poison them.â Flora muttered darkly.
Oliver scratched the back of his neck tiredly âNightâs still young. Still might get your chance if I canât figure a way past Stairy.â
Flora tilted her head quizzically âStairy?â
âThe asshole at the base of the stairs.â Oliver answered absentmindedly as he spotted a familiar streak of platinum blonde hair among the crowd of strangers âAnd I just figured it out. Can I trust you not to poison everyone here?â
âYou have an hour. I get bored easilyâ Flora swirled the sickly purple liquid in the vial threateningly.
âYou and me both.â Oliver patted her shoulder before chasing down his perfect distraction.
-----
Oliverâs heart began to thunder loudly in his ears, a nervous and uncontrollable energy overtaking his resolve. The mission was important but he would be lying if he said he wasnât happy to see Maria today.
Maria Thoreau was the daughter of a powerful, influential family. The Thoreauâs were more concerned with their standing in high society than any virtuous endeavors and thus each one of their children was trained from birth to excel in their chosen field. Mariaâs older brothers were an aspiring politician and merchant respectively.
Mariaâs path was to be a well famous singer and patron of the arts. She wanted nothing more than to sing for the people. Unfortunately, her father only saw a chance to further the familyâs good name and tied his desire for power with her passion and dream. It was bittersweet really but nothing much could be done about it.
Yet.
Maria knew Oliver as a musical rival who thwarted her groupâs attempts at winning local competitions which in turned derailed her fatherâs plans. So needless to say she was less than thrilled when she caught him making his way over.
âOllieâ she forced a smile while her hazel eyes narrowed, peeved âIâm surprised to see they let you into this exclusive event.â
Oliver gave a cocky shrug âWell your beauty caught my attention and I couldnât resist trying to figure out a way in.â
Mariaâs cheeks burned a pinkish hue.
Maria was the same age as Oliver with short, tastefully cut dark brown hair. A single streak of platinum blonde hair hung off the side of her face, giving her such a cute look. Her clothes were practical tonight since she wasnât performing: A simple white blouse with a long flowing dark blue skirt that went all the way down to her feet. Her shoes were sensible dark blue flats designed for comfort over style.
Maria coughed into her hand, willing her blush away.
âSo.â She cleared her throat âIs this your sad attempt to throw me off my game? You wonât win the next competition. Weâll be dealing with professional judges this time.â
Oliverâs eyes widen in false surprise âThereâs a competition here? Fancy that. I hadnât been made aware of that but since weâre both in town, why not have a round two?â
âOliverâŠ.â
âI meanâ Oliver went on, pretending not have heard âYou are a much better singer solo than with those harpies youâre forced to keep around.â
Maria glanced to the side timidly âDonât be absurd, the Melodic Maidens are a perfect, well oiled machine.â
Oliver scoffed dismissively âI suppose theyâre nearby, listening in. Hardly leave you alone, donât they?â
Maria opened her mouth to respond when a shrilly voice cut in.
âWhat do you know you two bit hack? How much did you bribe the judges last time?!â
Oliver gave a strained smile as the rest of the ladies forced their way into view.
âLilly, Filly, Sally. You suck.â
The triplets snarled in unison, openly glaring at the bard.
Lilly, Filly and Sally were Mariaâs chains: They were as much there to further her career as they were to report back to daddy to ensure the errant daughter stayed on course.
As triplets, they all shared the same features: Three pairs of dull green eyes and long messy black hair. Even their clothing were the same with each wearing a strapless dress that showed way too much skin and skirts that were way too short. The only reason Oliver could tell them apart was due to their preferred colors: Lilly in a shade of pink that was bright for her skin tone, Filly with a pale ugly yellow and Sally in seas of dark red.
The trio surrounded Maria, their arms embracing her in an uncomfortable hug. Maria bit her lip, trying to hide her uneasy.
âStill wearing that tacky outfit huh Ollie?â Lilly eyed his faded clothing distastefully.
Sally let out an unfriendly laugh âOllie always looks like trash. Not even prize money could buy an ounce of class.â
âActuallyâ Oliver brushed his shoulder dismissively âClass is cheap. No amount of money could buy an ounce of character. You can blow hot air at me all you want but nothing in this world could ever change the fact that the three of you are bitches.â
The trio clicked their tongues disappointingly, their normally plain faces twisted into unflattering visages of rage while they screamed as one.
âHOW DARE YOU INSULT US?!â
âYOU ARE SUCH A POOR TACTLESS MAN!â
âYOU FUCKER!â
Oliver casually waved his hand âAll bark and no bite. Iâm supposed believe youâve gotten any better in two months? Last time I checked I won the last competition.â
âOH YEAH?!â The triplets yelled, furious.
Maria threw a suspicious glance Oliverâs way âGirls, I donât thinkâŠâ
âCome on Maria, we donât want to have to tell daddy you backed down from a challenge.â
A shiver ran down her spine, the fight draining out of her face. Oliver felt a tinge of guilt but said nothing as the girls took their positions.
Maria paused for a moment, her breathing slow and calm. The murmur of the crowds grew louder and louder upon the recognition that the ladies nearby were the Melodic Maidens.
Maria pivoted on her heels, a bright warm smile gracing her lips. Oliver could feel his heart skip a beat at the sound of her soft, airy voice beginning to sing
âOh you hear a lot of stories about the sailors and their sportâ Maria gave a playful wink his way. His cheeks burned brightly at her playful banter.
âAbout how every sailor has a girl in every portâ
Maria twirled, her steps mischievous and alluring as her dark blue dress chased after her. She gracefully held two fingers aloft for everything to see, her smirk cocky and assured.
âbut if you added two and two youâd figure out right quickâ
Maria backed up as the triplets step forward to join her, the group made whole and ready for the chorus.
âItâs just because the girls all have a lad on every shipâ
Maria turned to throw a sultry look towards her rival bard but instead of finding a dumbstruck Oliver, she found a smiling one. His gaze was gentle and loving as if he was seeing utterly beautiful. A small smile was tugging at his cheeks. Maria could feel her heart thunder in her ears as, without warning, Oliver gave a thumbs up and mouthed an appreciative âThanksâ before ducking into the growing crowd.
âAnd itâs twiddley idle idle idle, twiddley idle aye.â
What was once a spattering of folks formed into a massive gathering. Most of the party goers and guards had come over to catch the free show the girls inadvertently given and thus all focus shifted onto them. What was an attempt to show up Oliver ended up being a very unnecessary showcase.
âItâs often times a man will leave you broken with dismayâ
Boy was Maria feeling that dismay right now.
-----
Oliverâs plan worked: Stairy hadnât been to resist the siren call of a beautiful woman and her singing. Luckily the harpies hadnât ruined it with their imperfect pitches. Stairy hadnât taken more than a few steps when Sel slipped in behind and began working at the door. It took a moment but one blink later and the automaton vanished out of sight.
Oliver let out a sigh when a hand gripped his shoulder tightly.
âHello sir.â A guff, low voice in a less than friendly voice âMight I have a word? Youâve been acting rather strange all party long.â
Well fuck.

[CN] Victorâs Sleepless Night Date
đ Warning: This post contains detailed spoilers for a date which has not been released in English servers! đ
Dedicated to @pixiestick0924, who sent me my very first message on Tumblr filled with wholesome sweetness đč
Kiss Dates Collection: Gavin // Kiro // Lucien
The date begins with MC receiving an invitation card from Loveland TV to participate in an award ceremony at the end of the month
The card notifies her that she has won the âBest Influence Awardâ due to the many highly rated programs she has produced
Sheâs allowed to invite one person to the ceremony, so she immediately thinks of Victor
Just then, she receives a message from him, which reads: âWhat time are you coming down?â
MC: âŠitâs already 6.30pm?!
Stuffing the invitation card into my bag, I rush downstairs. Victor is standing at the bottom of the steps, his arms crossed over his chest as he watches me run over.
MC: Something special happened today. I was so excited talking to everyone that I didnât notice the time. Â
Victor: What were you all talking about?
MC: The previous program. I didnât think it would receive such good ratings. It makes me feel like all the late nights and overtime were worth it.
I share the news with Victor happily. He seems to smile a little, and takes my hand as we walk along the path lit up by streetlamps.
Victor: Looks like high ratings have become your cardiotonic.
MC: Of course. However, thereâs an even bigger piece of news!
Victor: What is it?
I carefully take out the invitation card and wave it in front of him with satisfaction-
MC: This!
Hiding the fact that sheâs an award winner, MC explains that she can invite one person to the ceremony.
MC: Dear CEO of LFG, Mr Victor. I cordially invite you to attend the award ceremony as my male partner. I wonder what CEO Victorâs response would beâŠ?
Victor: âŠthatâs all?
MC: Yeah! You wouldnât reject, rightâŠ?
Victor gives me a meaningful glance, then retracts it.
Victor: What do you think? Iâll pick you up then.
~
The day of the award ceremony arrives. After putting on her makeup and outfit, she carefully puts on a pair of earrings.
The brilliant blue earrings give off a crystal-like light in the palm of my hand.
She meets Victor downstairs and they travel to the venue by car.
I turn my head and see Victor sweeping a glance towards me.
Victor: Looks like the past few hours werenât a waste.
MC: âŠcanât you just give me a direct compliment? Also, donât you have anything else to say?
I deliberately lift up the hair by my ear, revealing the earring. Victorâs eyes trail to my ear lobe, and a smile surfaces within them.
Victor: Not bad.
MC: I think these earrings look nice too.
Victor: I meant that my taste is not bad.
MC: âŠ!
Victor laughs lightly, then leans against the car seat.
Upon reaching the venue, they head to their designated resting area.
?: Nice to meet you, CEO Victor.
Right after we go through the doors, an elegant lady walks towards us. She looks to be around forty years of age, and wears an amiable smile on her face.
Victor: Good evening, Chairman Li. Â
Victor tilts his jaw slightly, greeting her. From the way he addresses her, I react immediately â this is Chairman Li of the Film and Television Association!
I hurriedly straighten my posture and give her a slight bow.
MC: Nice to meet you, Chairman Li. I am MC, theâŠ
Chairman Li: The producer of âMiracle Finderâ.
Hearing Chairman Li smoothly stating my identity, my eyes widen in surprise. She smiles at me.
Itâs rare to have such an opportunity to meet, so I speak.
MC: Itâs still early⊠if itâs all right with you, could we sit and talk?
I look at Chairman Li with anticipation. Sensing my concealed anxiousness, Victor arches an eyebrow. He doesnât say anything, and just looks at Chairman Li.
She nods.
Chairman Li: Of course.
Noticing that MC was surprised that Chairman Li could recognise her, the latter explains that she used to watch Miracle Finder as a student
She comments that the programs produced by MC are excellent
Chairman Li: You must have experienced several setbacks along this journey, right?
MC: Setbacks and difficulties are inevitable⊠However, meeting these thorns along the way seems to make the resulting flowers even more beautiful.
Chairman Li: Having such a mentality enables me to rest assured. Please continue working hard.
Looking at Chairman Liâs tender smile, a warmth bubbles in my heart. I nod solemnly.
Victor: She has improved quite a lotâŠ
Victor, who has been standing silently at the side all this while, suddenly speaks. I look towards him in disbelief.
Victor: But there is still a lot of room to grow.
At an angle where Chairman Li canât see it, I blink forcefully at Victor to signal my protest.
Looking at Victor, Chairman Li laughs lightly.
Chairman Li: Come to think of it, I was even worried CEO Victor wouldnât accept the invitation to attend the award ceremony. Iâm grateful that you could make it today.
Victor: You flatter me. Itâs an honour for me as well.
Hearing their conversation, I get a shock -
Victor had already received an invitation?
Perhaps the shock on my face was apparent, as Chairman Li pauses for a moment, as if realising something.
She looks at Victor and I subtly, then reveals an intrigued expression. Â
Chairman Li: I might have accidentally said the wrong thing.
Victor remains as calm as ever, resting his arms on the arm rests as he leans into the chair.
Meanwhile, my heart starts beating rapidly as I think about how I had deliberately left out the news that I am an awardee.
While Chairman Li answers a phone call, MC leans towards Victor.
MC: When did you receive the invitation? Why didnât you tell meâŠ
Victor tosses me a glance and responds plainly.
Victor: That isnât important. Whatâs important is that I accepted your invitation.
MC: ThenâŠ
I originally wanted to ask if he knew who the awardees are. However, as Iâm afraid to blow my cover, I stop the words from coming out. Â
Chairman Li excuses herself to return to her resting room. MC offers to walk her there, and requests for Chairman Li to keep the fact that she is an awardee a secret
All of a sudden, two boys accidentally crash into MC and her skirt rips. Turns out those brats are Chairman Liâs children
Chairman Li offers MC a spare dress
It is a blue spaghetti strap dress, with ribbons strung from the shoulder areas. The blue skirt is reminiscent of clear, brilliant ocean waves.
MC finds the dress beautiful, but notices that it reveals her bare back.
MC: âŠisnât this a little too sexy?
While Chairman Li tidies the folds around my waist, she laughs.
Chairman Li: Itâs very suitable for tonightâs event. Moreover⊠donât you want to give CEO Victor this unexpected surprise?
~
After saying goodbye to Chairman Li, I walk towards the resting room where Victor is.
Hearing the sound of the door being pushed open, Victor immediately turns around. In the process of putting on his suit, he halts his movements the moment he sees me.
Victor: Why did you⊠change your clothes?
I bunch up my skirt, walking towards him while explaining the incident that happened just now.
Victor: I see. Itâs a good thing she could resolve the issue. Â
MC: Yeah, itâs fortunate that she prepared this spare dress. Â
Victor has a tender look in his eyes, possibly due to the lighting in the room. He lifts his hand, preparing to put on his suit jacket.
Without realising it, I have already reached out for his suit jacket to assist him.
As I turn to the side, Victor has a clear view of my back⊠I lift my head and meet his eyes, which are as dark as ink.
The light in front of the mirror is a dim yellow, descending into the turbulence within his eyes. They reflect the depth and heat in his gaze.
Noticing the way he is staring at me, I suddenly feel the temperature of the surroundings rise. My palms break out in sweat.
MC: W-what is it⊠do you find me exceptionally pretty today?
He retracts his gaze, and laughs lightly.
Victor: I discovered that someone has become even more thick-skinned.
In response to his words, I tug at his suit jacket to show my soundless protest.
Victorâs eyebrow twitches slightly.
Victor: Are you helping me put my clothes on, or taking them off?
Hearing this, my face involuntarily turns red. Unwilling to back down, I retort.
MC: It depends on whether you want to take them off or put them on.
I thought Victor would say that Iâm being childish, but he pauses for a moment and his lips hook up into a smile.
Victor: ...dummy.
Feeling the heat on my face, I turn my head to the side and happen to see the flower display. Only then do I discover that the fresh flowers are actually blue roses. The flowers silently release an aromatic fragrance. I lean closer to take a whiff. Victor also leans over, pulling at his cuffs.
MC: Victor, do you know what blue roses represent in flower language?
Victor: What is it?
MC: In the language of flowers, blue roses represent âmiracles and things that are impossible.â I once read a poem that said, âPlant some blue roses in the courtyard. Plant countless of them. Miracles will definitely come.â
I turn my head towards Victor. Dressed exceptionally formally, he stands behind the blue roses, his eyebrows arching gently. Â
Victor: What are you hinting at?
Looking back at the mirror, Iâm standing next to Victor, whose suit jacket has been tidied.
MC: Apart from the blue roses, I also have the blessings of this blue skirt and blue earrings⊠maybe there will really be an unexpected occurrence.
Using his palm, Victor holds onto the hand that Iâve hooked onto his arm. His lips curl into a nice-looking smile.
Victor: Not a bad insight. However, you can keep those âmaybesâ. Letâs go, itâs about time.
~
At the venue, MC sees a lot of distinguished figures, including a renowned producer. Victor encourages her to talk to him.
Victor: I need to settle some things. You can go over to talk to him. Iâll look for you later.
MC has a pleasant talk with the man.
Eventually, the host takes the stage, but Victor has not returned.
MC: Where has he gone to? If he doesnât come back soon, heâd miss my award...
Host: The next award is the âBest Influence Awardâ!
The host has already begun introducing the guest who would be giving out the award. At the same time, my heart feels anxious and downcast.
With the thought that I wouldnât be able to share my joy with Victor immediately, my anticipation dulls. Just as I try to pull myself together-
An incredibly familiar profile appears from behind the stage. His footsteps are steady, and his face is illuminated by the lights.
MC: How could this beâŠ
My heart is throbbing in my chest. Before I have time to think, Victor is already standing in front of the microphone.
His eyes sweep across the room, and his gaze ultimately rests on me.
Victor: Iâm honoured to be the guest presenter for this event. In this day and age, producers and people in the media are indispensable. They open the door for the audience â a door that reveals a wider world. The âBest Influence Awardâ bears testament to the certainty of the contributions by producers. This certainty is not just from the Film and Television Association, but also from the audience who have walked through this door.
On stage, Victor gives his speech without any hesitance. His deep voice and the words that he says are like the keys of a piano, ringing in my heart.
Victor: The recipient of this awardâŠ
The dazzling spotlight illuminates Victor as he stands at the center of the stage. As he pauses, I feel all the blood in my body flooding to my head.
He unfolds the card, looks at it calmly, and continues.
Victor: I have watched quite a number of programs she produced. Through her programs, I see a producer who is steadfast in her responsibilities, searches for the truth, and her tenderness towards the audience. Undeniably, her first few programs had a few flaws. However, she has grown from being naĂŻve to becoming a benchmark. Iâm thinking that she must have put in a lot of effort.
Saying this, Victor pauses for a moment. His eyes cut through the crowd and land directly on me.
Victor: MC, congratulations on your award.
When these words leave Victorâs lips, my heart is filled with both surprise and a certain stillness.
I do my best to calm my thunderous heart rate. I bunch up my skirt, straighten up, and walk towards the stage.
At the side of the stage steps, Victor smiles as he offers me his hand. With his grip, we walk towards the center of the stage.
I solemnly receive the trophy from Victorâs hands, and an indescribable emotion pours out from my heart. Clearing my throat, I lean closer to the microphone.
MC: I am incredibly grateful to the Film and Television Association for giving me this award, and also for everyoneâs certainty towards me and Miracle Finder.
Different from the tens of rehearsals I did at home, the stage lights and the eyes of the audience are all on me.
MC: To be honest, this trophy is quite heavy⊠but it shall be the motivation for me to carry on moving forward. Even though producing this program is not an easy feat, we will never give up as long as we have one audience member who likes and looks forward to it.
I cast a quick glance at Victor, who is standing beside me, and purse my lips.
MC: Also, Iâm very grateful for the guest presenterâs certainty⊠itâs very important to me. In sum, all of us in Miracle Finder will continue working hard!
After giving my thank-you speech, I happily raise the trophy towards the audience.
Victor smiles faintly, joining me as we face the applause of the audience.
At this moment, a sudden surge arises in my chest. I canât help but turn towards him.
He happens to turn his head towards me at the same time. The smile in his eyes is even more striking than the spotlight.
~
After the award ceremony, I stare at Victor as he walks out from a corner.
MC: âThe respected guest presenter Mr Victorâ⊠does this mean you already knew that I won the award right from the start?
Victorâs eyes trail from me to the trophy resting at the side. His eyes hide a mildly teasing look.
MC: I wanted to give you a big surprise, but it turned out the other way round⊠why didnât I hear anything about you being the guest presenter?
Victor: It just shows how poorly informed you are. LFG has always been an investor of Loveland TV, and is also the sponsor of todayâs event.
MC: âŠwork can really be confidential.
Faced with my âaccusationâ, Victor lifts an eyebrow.
Victor: Seems like you havenât finished complaining in your heart earlier.
MC: âŠhow did you know?
Victor: The thoughts of a dummy are not difficult to guess.
While he speaks, his eyebrows smoothen out. The gaze that rests on me contains an obvious warmth.
My ear suddenly feels hot, and I mutter softly.
MC: Iâm not a dummy⊠have you seen a dummy win an award?
People spot MC and start showering her with congratulations. After a while:
MC: Huff⊠it feels like my smile is stuck in place, and my feet are starting to hurt from standing.
Victor is beside me, a hand in his pocket. Hearing what I said, he looks at my high heels, then places a hand on my shoulder.
Victor: Since youâre tired, donât force yourself. Thereâs an open space outside. Want to take a breather? Â
MC: Eh?
I follow Victor, leaving the venue through the backdoor and walking to the open space he mentioned.
I am met with a quiet courtyard bathed in moonlight. The fountain in the center reflects the moon and its silver light.
Sitting next to the Roman column surrounded by roses, I take a few breaths of fresh air. Â
MC: This place is really pretty! As the guest presenter, is it really okay for you to be accompanying me outside? Do you still have any other tasks after this?
Victor: I do.
Before despondence can arise in my heart from his straightforward response, Victor continues.
Victor: Have you forgotten that I was invited to be someoneâs male partner?
While speaking, he sits next to me, traces of amusement in his eyes.
I turn my head to give him a grin. The small earrings sway along with my movement, and the gemstones seem to glow. Sensing that Victorâs eyes are on this brilliant blue light, I suddenly speak up.
MC: Actually, I am a little selfish.
Victor: What?
He looks slightly confused, not understanding the meaning behind my words.
In the courtyard, the moon reveals itself from behind the clouds. I look into his deep and tender eyes, and say a little shamefully.
MC: I had a selfish reason for wearing these earrings today. You gave them to me, so I hoped they would bring me good luck, and alsoâŠ
I pause, lowering my eyes.
MC: It would be as though you were on the stage with me as well. I didnât think thatâŠ
Recalling the moment I saw Victor appearing on stage, I can almost feel my earlier frenzied heart rate.
Victor: I see. It suits your style. Always putting in effort in the strangest of places.
Victor lets out a small laugh. Even though itâs very soft, it plucks at my heart clearly. Â
MC: Come to think of it⊠I really like how we are tonight.
For such a long time, Iâve been continually working hard and never letting any opportunities slip me by. Apart from the passion I have for the program and being a producer, itâs also becauseâŠ
I wanted to stand on a stage that he had walked on, and stand at the same place he stood.
Despite my obscure words, Victor seems to have understood.
The night lights descend into his deep eyes, refracting colours. He turns to the side slightly, and takes my hand into his.
Victor: Youâve actually set a reasonable goal. Moreover, youâve already reached it.
The night breeze tousles his originally tidy fringe, and sticks against his forehead softly.
The Victor in front of me no longer looks as cold and strict as before. He even exudes warmth. Faced with such a Victor, I canât help but feel like joking.
MC: Actually, I was going to give this trophy to you as a surprise gift! Since you deliberately hid your identity as the guest presenter from me, Iâve decided to take back my gift.
Seeing my sly and satisfied smile, Victor also lets out a light laugh.
Victor: Your ability to find excuses is unparalleled. Who was the one who first hid the fact that she won the award?
MC: Um, this⊠well, if I win a global award next time, Iâll think about it!
Victor: Iâll wait and see then. I hope I wouldnât have to wait too long.
MC: Donât underestimate me!
Just when I think he would continue joking around, Victor suddenly tightens his grip on my hand, and closes the distance between us.
Faint music drifts from the venue â melodious and gentle. However, my entire focus is on Victor.
Victor: Since you have prepared a present, I should give you a return gift.
MC: R-return gift? Thereâs no needâŠ
As his face draws closer, my voice involuntarily carries a tremor. This situation, and this familiar conversationâŠ
In just a moment, he cups my neck, his other hand shifting to my waist.
MC: Mm-!
My bare back, which was slightly cool, is suddenly covered by a searing palm. My body trembles.
The music from the venue continues to chant. The shadows cast by the moon above us dance amid the haze. The neon lights in the distance seem to be painted in a romantic colour.
Even so, the only thing I can see are Victorâs deep eyes.
He leans closer, rubbing the tip of his nose with mine. Then, his warm thin lips trail slowly from my forehead downwardsâŠ
Victorâs breath encases my entire body. He plants scalding kisses on every inch of my skin, making me tremble as I hold onto his cuff.
MC: V-Vic-
He swallows the remaining syllable before I can finish.
This time, his soft lips seize mine, prying my teeth apart and diving right in.
He takes my breath away. In the midst of our breathing, what surrounds the tip of my nose is the unique taste belonging only to himâŠ
After a long while, Victor finally ends his deep and searing kiss.
I clutch onto his arm, my chest heaving as I struggle to catch my breath.
His lips once again brush my nose and cheek gently, like a dragonfly flitting across the surface of water. He looks into my eyes.
I see myself in his pupils, red-faced and misty-eyed.
Our close proximity and breathing causes every single one of his words to drift into my ears with clarity.
Victor: The future you foresee, as you said it yourself, has both flowers and thorns. Are you ready for it?
I nod subconsciously.
Victor: Me too. No matter how far you go in the future, I am prepared⊠to never let you go for eternity.
The fragrance of the fresh flowers permeates the air, accompanied by faint music. It makes me wish that I could etch this moment for my keeping.
My arm presses against his familiar warmth. I lean my head on his shoulder, feeling exceptionally at peace.
I will continue working hard and running forward, and he will always be by my side â becoming the deepest source of strength in my heart.

âThe Internâ Part Two
Aaron Hotchner x Reader
hello all! the love on this first part was absolutely unexpected, but i am so grateful for it! here is the link to the first part of the series, go ahead and read that in case you havenât yet. if you liked this part or have any feedback, do not hesitate to let me know. without further ado, onto the show!
content warnings: mentions of child sexual assault and murder
link to the inspiration for this fictional case
You and Penelope started looking over the file Agent Hotchner had given you. Not soon after you read over some of the details, a blonde woman swung open the door to the office.
âGarcia, debriefing in five. Hi, Iâm Jennifer Jareau, but you can call me JJ. Iâm the liaison for the team; Iâve heard so much about you, Penelope is so excited to not be alone in her office all the time.â She smiled at you, offering you her hand to shake, and you took it.
âItâs so nice to meet you, Iâm (y/n) (y/l/n).â You smiled back at her, and she called for Garcia over her shoulder as she left. You looked up to Penelope, silently asking what your next move should be.
âCâmon kid, you're on this case. I have a little feeling Hotch won't mind if I invite you to work it.â She said to you with a knowing smirk playing on her lips, heat flooding your cheeks. You'd hope not, you didn't want to make the boss mad the first day you were shadowing.
Following Penelope out of her office, you looked around and noticed other agents heading the same way. Agent Jareau was walking ahead of you, talking to a dark-haired woman, and your path aligned with a skinny, long-haired man wearing a sweater vest and gun on his waist that looked like it physically weighed him down.
âUh, hi, I-Iâm Spencer Reid, Garcia told me about you. Itâs nice to meet you.â His lips were in a straight line, and he didnât make direct eye contact with you. You smiled at him.
â(Y/n) (y/l/n).â Without responding, he picked up his pace a bit, catching up to the two women in front of you. Garcia chuckled.
âHeâs not the most social butterfly in the garden.â You scoffed, laughing lightly yourself. She assured you he would warm up to you though, which made you feel better. You didnât want a single member of the team to dislike you.
You all eventually gathered in the debriefing room, and you couldnât help but wonder where Hotch was. Penelope introduced you to the other agents sitting at the table that you hadnât met yet, and they welcomed you warmly. Agent Rossi said something about always needing extra help, which gave you a nice feeling in your chest.
JJ stood to present the case, and not a second later, Hotch walked in the door. She must have seen him coming. The only empty seat left happened to be next to yours, and he took it. He gave you a very small smile, then turned to face JJ. You suddenly remembered you were in a room full of profilers; if you were going to steal glances at Hotch, well, itâs probably better you didnât. How frowned upon is a relationship with the boss, especially with someone not even officially part of the team? You didnât want to think about that, it was just a silly little crush after all.
Pictures from crime scenes and documents you had to be closer to the screen to completely identify crowded every screen in the debriefing room. A twelve-year-old boy went missing outside of Seward, Nebraska. Unfortunately, he wasnât missing long, because his body was found in a ditch off of an interstate not three days after he was reported missing. The cause of death was asphyxiation, and there were signs of sexual assault, post mortem.
âYou know, this reminds me of the Oakland County Child Killer. He was responsible for the killings of four children in Oakland County, Michigan in 1976 and 1977. Each child's body was discovered in a public area within 19 days of their disappearance, two boys and two girls. The children were all either strangled or shot, and the two boys had been sexually abused.â All this information at once took you by surprise; how did he know all of that? It was like he was reading it straight from a book.
âAre there any more missing kids in the area? This could be some kind of copycat.â Morgan questioned.
âThere hasn't been any reported since this boy, Nathan Harrison. Reid, how far apart did the Oakland County Child killer take his victims? If this is a copycat killer, we could try to estimate when the next victim might be.â JJ asked him.
Reid thought for a moment. âHis first victim was in February of 1976, and he didnât kidnap again until December of that year. Then, though, the last two victims were taken only months apart in 1977. I donât believe this killer had a pattern, other than always placing the bodies where they could easily be seen.â Hotch sighs, eyes darting around the table thatâs filled with case files and crime scene photos like heâs taking in all the information. His dark brows are furrowed; you guess heâs thinking of what the team should do next.
âWell, I donât want to wait around and see if he makes his own M.O. or if he follows this killerâs actions. Weâre going to need to do more research on the Oakland County killer and if there are anymore unsolved child cases in Nebraska that might be connected to our unsub. Wheels up in thirty.â Hotch looks around the room at everyone as he says this, and his gaze lingers a second longer on you before he leaves the room. The other agents start gathering the files and coffee mugs they may have brought into the room and head out too.
âJust like that, theyâre gone?â You ask Penelope, turning your chair to face hers. You were the only two people left in the room. She nods.
âJust like that. You and I will stay behind and help with all the fun behind the scenes stuff unless they need us out there later.â She stands, jewelry jingling with the motion. You followed suit, trailing behind her back to her office. Looking around the room, the agents were carrying duffel bags out the door and to the elevator. You saw Hotch still standing in his office, preparing his bag and making sure he had everything.
âYou think theyâd let me come with you?â Your voice lowered. Secretly, she knew you meant Hotch. You didnât want to overstep any boundaries, this was their case after all.
She only nodded, dangling earrings swinging as she did so. Hotch exited his office and you tried to inconspicuously watch where he was going. Youâre sure you canât have been that sly about it though. He rounded the corner and looked like he was going to go out the door, but he stopped behind you two, calling out for Garcia. You turned around in sync to face him.
âI donât know what weâre walking in to yet, I want you to have a go-bag ready if needed.â He turned to face you. â(Y/l/n), if youâre comfortable with coming along with us now youâre more than welcome. Weâre leaving in fifteen.â With that, he slid past you, walking through the doors to the elevator in the hall. For a split second, you felt his body heat in your space; you even caught a little whiff of his cologne.
You looked over at Garcia. You didnât know what to do; you were here to shadow as a technical analyst, not as a profiler. You werenât supposed to be in the field, it wasnât the plan. You searched her face to try and figure out what she might say next, and if she was okay with you going. Maybe it could be fun, a good experience. It might be a chance to get to know the team better, maybe one to get to know your temporary boss better tooâŠ
âYou can go if you want to honey, I know it appeals to some people. I am not some people, however. I like my office. My screens. And hey, nobody said you had to stay here. Maybe theyâll make you wanna be a profiler.â She placed a hand on your arm, gently patting it, her smile beaming at you. You gave her a small smile back.
âI donât know Garcia, I donât know the first thing about being in the field and profiling and working an actual case like that. Iâve been studying tech stuff, itâs all I know.â Your lips tightened and your brows knitted. Your eyes fell to the floor; you couldnât look her in the eyes. It felt like you were abandoning her, as silly as it sounds.
âI may not be a profiler, but I can tell you want to work this case out there. Iâll still be here when you come back in one piece.â A small smile came upon your lips, and you met her eyes.
âThank you, Garcia.â She smiled with her lips. Her eyes scanned your body.
âIf you end up needing to stay there, you can probably fit Prentissâs or JJâs clothes. Iâm going to send you all the teamsâ contact information too. Be careful. Tell them they better take care of my girl.â She gave you a quick, unexpected kiss to the forehead. Turning into her office, she grabbed your purse and handed it over to you. She told you where to go to board the jet, and you hurried out to the elevator. You heard her laugh behind you, but you didnât care. You were excited to be going into the field and getting to be able to know the team and all the ins and outs of the job. Maybe you did want to be a profiler.
Hotch filled your mind again though, inevitably. You were still thinking of how he extended the invitation to you personally, did that mean something? Maybe he was just being nice to you, trying to make you feel welcome here. Or did he really want you to be there with him and the team, did he want to teach you the ropes and spend more time with you? You shook your head to yourself, now heading out to board the jet. You needed to be focused on this case. But you had a feeling that being in a little space with him for at least three hours, which you knew would feel like so much longer, wouldnât help your focus at all.

PUPPY LOVE D.W.
Summary: Dogs always know best, you learned that pretty quickly. Little bit Older!Damian x reader
Warning: Nothing,Â
A/N: I love Damian but also I feel like I canât write him to save my life so Iâm not really sure what tf this is but oh well.Â
Also I expected maybe two or three likes on my tim imagine and the fact I got 20x as many notes as I expected makes my heart đ„șđ„șđ„ș thank you guysđ
picture not mine
Word count: 3.1k
You met Damian Wayne at the dog park in Gotham.
As first encounters go, that one had to have been at the bottom of your list of being enjoyable. His dog, which you had later discovers his name was Titus, was huge. He was a Great Dane and nothing less of a giant. You were surprised that Damian, as short as he was, was able to hold onto the leash when Titus tugged on it.
It wasn't the fact that Titus was huge, it was that your dog was little. If there was one thing that everyone knew about little dogs, it was that they had to find the biggest dog in the area and pick a fight. That was exactly what your little Terrier did.
You had let him off his leash so that you could play fetch with him but he quickly lost interest in the ball and more interest in the black Dane. Your dog barked and nipped at the legs of his dog until you ran over to snatch him up. What made the matter worse, was that it had to be the son of Bruce Wayne.
Damian pulled his own dog away from yours in hopes to protect him. The two of them were acting very calm about the situation while you were freaking out and struggling to hold you pup. He continued to bark until you finally held him mouth shut and chastised him to be quiet, thankfully he listened.
"I am so sorry," You finally looked over at Damian. He patted the top of his dog's head, who had sat right at his side. The Great Dane looked much more well behaved than your own dog. "Is your dog alright? Terry doesn't usually do this I have no idea where it came from, really."
Damian did a look over of his dog and ordered him to jump and twist. The movement proved that he was perfectly fine. You sighed with relief. "You named your terrier, Terry?" It was the first time that he had spoke to you since the encounter. A slight blush rose to your cheeks as you realized that he was mocking you.
"Yes," you mustered up all the confidence you could get. He didn't say anything but made a small noise that you barely picked up on. You took that as your cue to leave. "I'm sorry about him," you apologized once more and decided that it was time to leave the dog park before another mishap occurred.
You had heard about Damian before, everyone in Gotham had. The son of Bruce Wayne that he didnât know about until after a decade. You knew that you were the same age as him and you also knew by his pictures in the paper that he was very attractive. Seeing him in person proved that the pictures didnât do justice.Â
Damian watched you walk away with a smile threatening to escape his lips. Terry the Terrier, what a joke. Yet, he thought the name was cute, but he also thought that Terryâs owner, was cuter.Â
The moment that you and Terry were in your car, you slumped your head back on the head rest. That was an awful first meeting, especially with someone like him. You looked over at your dog, who was looking up at you with his tongue hanging out and you could swear he was smiling.
"He was cute, wasn't he?" You spoke to Terry. To your surprise, he barked back at you. "As glad as I am that you gave me an excuse to talk to him, you ruined it by attacking his dog so why should I care?"
><
The next time you saw Damian, you were walking through the park with Terry. It was a hot sunny day in Gotham, which didn't happen very often. Jean shorts showed off your legs and sunglasses rested on your nose. It was rare to see days like those and you planned to make the most of the outdoors.
You were in your own world when you heard your dog barking. Terry rarely barked for no reason so there had to have been something that set him off. Unfortunately, as you looked around, you saw a familiar Great Dane. Before Terry could try and pull the leash over to Damian and his dog, you snatched him up under your arm.
There was no way that you were willing to risk embarrassing yourself twice in front of the youngest Wayne. So, trying to avoid another encounter, you kept your head straight and walked along the path. Besides, you doubted that he would even recognize you after your brief meeting all those weeks ago.
That didn't mean that his dog didn't know yours or Terry's scent. Titus let out a loud bark that caught your attention and nearly made you jump. You had just passed by where Damian was sitting on the bench and turned back to see that he was already looking at you. Terry managed to wiggle out of your arms and onto the ground.
"Terry," You scolded.
"No, it's okay," Damian approached you. "Titus was the one to bark, it is not yours, or your dogs, fault." This time, the dogs only sniffed each other rather than attacking. A small break from the aggression that Terry was showing before.
"I don't know why he's so interested in - Titus," you hesitated to repeat the name of his dog, unsure if you heard him correctly. Damian picked up on your pause and nodded to confirm that you were correct. "We go for walks every day and he never gets worked up over seeing another dog."
To be honest, you were glad that Titus had noticed you. You didnât want to have Terry cause another scene with them or go up to him out of the blue, yet you still wanted to talk to Damian. You were intrigued by him, the son of the richest man in the city and you kept finding him in the same places that you liked to be.Â
"TT, Titus never barks," Damian agreed with your guys' dogs behavior. It was unusual. He looked down at your dog, and slowly dragged his gaze up your legs until he finally met your eyes. A faint blush covered his cheeks but in the bright sunlight, you didnât notice. "I never learned your name last time."
"(Y/N)," You told him, sticking your hand out for him to shake. He paused for a moment before doing so and introducing himself. Of course, you already knew this but didn't say anything. "It's nice to meet you Damian. Sorry to disturb your afternoon, again."
"Nonsense," he told you. To be honest, he was quite glad that Titus grabbed you attention once more. He was curious to learn who you were after your first meeting with him. It was rare for someone to talk to him like a normal human, and as much as you were nervous around him, you tried to be normal.
"Um, I was just headed to get some iced coffee if you wanted to join me," You hesitantly asked. "Not that you have to or anything, but Terry looks like he has a crush on you and I wouldn't want to break his little heart." It was true, your dog had moved on from Titus and to the blood son himself.
However, you didnât want to tell him that you too, wanted to spend a couple more minutes with him, at least. It wasnât just your dog that was beginning to crush on him, you were pretty sure that you were too. It was strange, you barely even knew him and yet you couldnât help but want to spend a few fleeing moments with him.Â
Terry had started my sniffing around Damian's ankles, to walking between his legs and getting the leash all wrapped around him. Once he had finally found the perfect spot, he started up at Damian with the same kind of look that he gave you when you were holding a treat.
Damian got out of the maze of rope and knelt down to scratch Terry's belly, who had licked his hand the moment it came near. You swore you saw him smile at the interaction.
While Terry was getting attention from Damian, Titus decided that he wanted you to scratch by his ears. He nudged your hand with his nose and you quickly took the hint.
"It is a beautiful day out to go get iced coffee," Damian agreed. "And you're right, I wouldn't want to break Terry's heart either.
><
You had gotten Damian's number that day. He told you that if you ever wanted to see Titus or have a puppy play date then you should give him a call. Of course, you were surprised to see the son of Bruce Wayne give away his cell phone number so easily to someone that he barely knew.
After getting your drinks, the two of you sat out in the sun and chatter about your dogs, school, and the tiniest bit about family. All you knew was that he had a lot of brothers that often got on his nerves and of course who his father was.
By the time that Terry was wining at you to go home, you both decided that it was time to depart. Damian patted Terry once more and bid goodbye. Titus licked your hand before leaving as well. You walked in opposite direction but you couldn't help but feel a little excited for whenever your next meeting would be.
The contact sat in your phone, untouched and not thought about again for weeks. After the first few days of debating whether or not to text him, you had gotten busy with school work and his number became the least of your worries. It wasn't until you saw Bruce on the TV did you remember that you had his number.
You texted him on Saturday morning asking if he wanted to meet up at the same dog park that you both met. He texted back rather fast agreeing to the plans and that he would see you that afternoon.
Which was why you had gone through seven outfits before deciding on the perfect casual and cute look. This wasn't a date, not even close to one, but this was also Damian Wayne, the same guy that wore expensive cashmere as a causal look. You wanted to look a little bit nice if you were going to be seen with him.
Ten minutes before he was supposed to arrive, you sat in your car talking to Terry. It was a habit that you gained from spending a little too much time by yourself. Then again, was there better company than your dog?
"This isn't a date, Terry. This is two friends meeting up because we both have dogs," you looked over at him. "Damian comes from a completely different world than us anyways, it's never going to happen, as much as you and I would like it to."
Once again, Terry barked at you in response. With a sigh, you left your car and walked over to the entrance of the park. Damian wasn't there yet but your dog was a little to excited to just sit and wait. You settled with letting him off leash and throwing his ball for him to fetch.
Terry came racing past you at such high speeds you didn't think he was going to be able to stop. And he hadn't, he went running past your spot and right towards Damian. You rolled your eyes at your dog. By his attitude, you were starting to think Terry liked Damian more than you.Â
"Hello, (Y/N)," Damian joined you. It didn't take long for your dogs to go play together and the two of you stood side by side watching them. You didn't quite trust Terry enough to not keep an eye on him.
He held a small frame in his hand and you wondered what it could be. Damian noticed your eyes it and handed it over to you. "I saw this the other day and thought of Terry."
It was a small framed picture of a hand drawn terrier and painted with water colours. It was beautiful. Damian would never admit to you that he didnât buy it, but painted it himself. "It's yours."
He pushed the gift a little closer to you until you grabbed it. "Thank you, Damian. It's beautiful."
"You're welcome," he nodded. If there was one thing you quickly noticed about him, it was that he was a man of few words. He choose his words precisely and accurately. "How has school been?"
You were in the same grade as him, but different high schools. While he went to a private school, you weren't quite a privileged and had to go to a public school. It was fine, but university out of the city was calling your name and the time couldnât pass by any slower.
"Busy," you shrugged. Truth be told you barely had time for anything. This was the first free moment you had in weeks and somehow you managed to spend it with Damian. "How about you?"
"Busy," he raised an eyebrow at you, the hint of a smirk on his lips. He was mocking you, again. "Do you have plans? After graduation?"
"Central City," you told him. "I want to go to school there for -"
You never got to finish your sentence. The two of you had lost track of your dogs and neither of you had noticed Titus barreling towards you. There was no way you could have moved in time or that he was going to stop.
Titus towered over you as he jumped towards you. You braved yourself to hit the grass but it had never come. Instead arms caught you and steadied you back on your feet. Damian managed to keep you from falling with amazing strengthens lightning quick reflexes.
He didn't let go of you like expected. Instead he looked at the growing wonder in your eyes and the realization of how close you were. You swore that he could hear your heart thumping in your chest.Â
Both your dogs barked at you and brought you out of the brief moment. Damian dropped his arms and you awkwardly stepped back. You straightened your clothing and tried to tame the bright flush that rose up your neck. Damian cleared his throat and put his hands in his pockets.Â
"Thanks, for the save."
><
You kept the picture that Damian gave you on your desk in your room. Your mother, who always snooped through your room was quick to find it. She asked where you had found such a beautiful painting and after a moment of debating, you chose to tell her the truth. You were friends with Damian Wayne.
Growing up, you always figured that your mother had a little bit of a crush on Bruce Wayne. How could she not? He was rich, attractive, a great business man, he was perfect. You and your mother kept that little secret from your father - who you also suspected the attraction.
So when you told her that you knew his son, she had nearly squealed with excitement. And the fact that he had given you a gift as well? Your mother was already to start planning the wedding.
You were just friends with him, there was no need for her to freak out over this. However, you couldn't stop thinking about that brief moment that the two of you had a couple days before. Damian had the most mesmerizing green eyes that you had ever encountered in your life and you wanted nothing more than to look into them again.
However, you refrained from texting him about plans again. You talked to him daily since your last hang out but didn't want to force another puppy date - or just the two of you - for at least a few more days. He was a good friend, and you didn't want to spook him off before you got the chance to know him better.
Lucky for you, you never needed to worry about plans. Damian texted you the address of what you assumed to be a coffee shop just over a week since you had last seen him. You had to admit that waking up to his text Sunday morning had caused your heart to flutter with excitement.
By the time that you were dressed and on your way to the right place, it was just about ten in the morning. Terry was in your passenger's seat and his head was sticking out the window. As you pulled into the small parking space, you saw Damian waiting alone just outside the door.
His black hair was slicked back - different that it was every other time you saw him. You liked it that way, it showed off all his features and made it easier for you to admire. "Guess you weren't supposed to come, Ter," You looked over at your dog. "Oh well, too late now. Wish me luck, bud," you raised your hand for him to 'high-five', a trick you taught him a while ago.
Terry walked in front of you and was excited the moment that he laid eyes on Damian. He smiled as he saw you, an action you weren't expecting. "Sorry, I mentioned your name this morning and he wouldn't let me leave the house without him."
"You talk to him a lot, you know," Damian pointed out. A faint blush rose up your neck. "I saw you, both times in the car." Your cheeks felt like they were on fire - this could not be happening. He laughed at your embarrassment, the kind of teasing that made you wonder if he was trying to flirt. You desperately hoped that was the case.Â
Damian had the tendency to tease you lots when you spend time with him. Most of the time you could tell that he was joking, but the other majority of the time you couldnât help but feel that there was more too it. A glimmer of something would shine in his eyes - a look that you couldnât help but melt under.Â
"No worries, I talk to Titus all the time. He's the only one that doesn't come up with idiotic responses,â Damian assured, placing his hand on your shoulder. It was the first time that he had even come near to touching you on purpose and the shiver that ran up your spine had to have meant something.Â
"Dogs truly are man's best friend," You agreed. Damian retracted his hand and reached down to pat Terry on the head for a brief moment.Â
"Wait until you see my pet cow."
"You have a cow?" You didn't know what was more shocking - the fact that he truly owned a cow or that he wished you to come visit him at his home. Damian only nodded, he had many pets.
Terry was aimlessly walked between yours and Damian's legs. You didn't realize how much available leash he had until he had completely wrapped himself around the both of you. You weren't paying any attention to him - which once again had been a mistake on your behalf.
Another dog walked by on the street. Terry wasn't big, or strong, but when he wanted to pull, he could give a vicious tug. This happened just at the wrong time. You were trying to untangle yourself and as Terry tried to attack the passing dog, he had forced you to lose balance.
Once again, Damian had managed to catch up before you landed on the cement. You had gotten your wish of wanting to be close to him again. To smell the sharp cologne he wore and notice all the little imperfections on his face. The faint scars, the freckles on his dark skin. He truly was just as beautiful, if not more, as his father.
"I think our dogs are trying to get us together," You blurted out. First Titus, now Terry. They were the reason that you had met and the reason that you had stumbled into his arms twice now. You hadn't meant to speak you thoughts but it was true. You really thought that the dogs were aware of your feelings and were trying to make you act on them.
"I don't know about you and Terry, but I trust Titus with my life."
