-xxx-xxxxx-xxxx Text me :)-
It was shortly after 10 PM when you arrive at your little apartment, just as you walked through the door you receive a text from your boss, Mrs Mina.
Tumblr media
Of course you could cover a shift, a little bit of extra money is always nice, isn't it?
Also, it’s just 4 hours and you hadn't anything planned anyway.
Since you had to get up early tomorrow, you quickly got ready for bed, to sleep earlier today.
BUT you couldn't get Nishimura Riki out of your head.
This goddam smile this morning in the cafe and the fact that out of all coffee places,
Ni-ki and Jake showed up at your workplace, had you tossing around in bed until you finally could close your eyes for good.
Tumblr media
As soon as Riki hears his alarm go off, he's awake. And he's nervous. But he wants to try and look where it leads him.
He gets up from the hotel bed, takes a pen and rips off a small piece of paper from a notebook he always carries around.
He starts writing after shortly thinking about it again.
xxx-xxxxx-xxxx
Text me :)
He puts back the pen and his notebook before standing up and getting ready to accomplish his little mission with Jake.
After dressing up in some baggy joggers and an oversized hoodie, he carefully folds the little piece of paper and places it in his wallet.
After locking his room, he heads down to the hotel lobby and sends Jake a message.
Tumblr media
“So what's your plan?” Jake asks while walking along with Riki in the direction of the cafe.
Riki pulls out the little paper piece that he had written just minutes ago.
“Here” he shows it to Jake “should be okay, right?” Riki asks, looking at Jake.
“Yeah that should do it” he answers “Just smile at her again like you did yesterday” he chuckles while finishing his sentence.
“Shut up” Ni-ki snaps and carefully puts his paper back into his wallet.
“Come on it’ll be fine, trust me” Jake exclaims “You're a hot guy with a nice smile” he finishes and ruffles Rikis hair.
“sure” Ni-ki mumbles as response.
After a short walk of 10 minutes, they reach the cafe, your workplace.
Before entering, Riki takes a deep breath.
“You got this Riki” Jake encourages him and gives him a pat on the back.
Jake walks in first, Riki following directly behind him, already holding the piece of paper in his hand.
As they walk up to the counter, Ni-ki doesn't see you standing there, waiting to take their orders in. He subtly glances around, searching for you. But you were nowhere to be found.
In fact, there was no one behind the counter.
Jake rings a little bell with a sign in front of it that says “Please ring if no one is here”.
And there you were, just a minute before your shift is over.
Jake orders the coffee he had yesterday, now tapping Riki who was lost in thoughts, signaling him it's his turn.
Riki turns to face you and hesitantly starts to speak, with a slight stutter in his voice.
Tumblr media
As you went to go to the staff room, to take off your apron you heard the bell ring, signaling someone wants to order.
So you instantly turn and go back behind the counter.
As soon as you see WHO wants to order, you take a deep breath to keep yourself together.
“Hi, what can I get for you two?” you say, more composed than yesterday.
Jake and Ni-ki both order their drinks.
As Riki speaks, you notice a slight nervousness radiating from him.
Is he okay? You think to yourself, while typing in their orders.
You tell them the total for their order and Ni-ki pulls out his wallet and hands you more money than needed
“Ju-just keep the rest” he tells you with a small smile.
You nod and put the money into the little cash register. While doing so, you notice a small piece of paper.
He must’ve accidentally given it to you with the money. So you decide to put it aside and give it to him when handing them their drinks.
And so you do, you hand both of them their coffee.
“here you accidentally gave this to me with the money” you say to Riki, your voice a little shaky.
He looks at the piece of paper and shakes his head. “it’s for you” he says so quietly it is nearly impossible to hear, but you still understand.
Jake says goodbye with a smile before going, while Riki just quickly leaves.
As soon as they were out of the cafe, you rush to the staff room to look at the paper, which you didn’t do until now.
xxx-xxxxx-xxxx
Text me :)
“No fucking way” you whisper. That couldn’t be happening right now, could it?
“No fucking way that this was meant for me” you speak to yourself.
You quickly get rid of the Apron and grab your bag to rush home, with the piece of paper carefully placed in your pocket.

this disability pride month, stop making jokes about people in wheelchairs standing up or walking.
can I stand and walk? sure, for a short while and with pain. the consequences for trying to be out all day without a wheelchair are that I'll be in bed for the rest of the week, too tired and in too much pain to move.
but the government won't give me my own wheelchair because they have the same attitude as these jokes - I can stand up, so I don't need one. exercise is good for you, you should walk!
it keeps me trapped in the house, unable to do anything more than short stints anywhere without borrowing or hiring a wheelchair - one that causes me pain to sit in and relies on someone to push me (usually with difficulty), because they're not going to have a high-end chair for that sort of thing.
it's not a miracle that a wheelchair user can stand or walk. it's something we should aspire to see more often.

Running into her ex-boyfriend was not on the agenda for Y/n when she accepted Ferrari’s invite to the Monaco Grand Prix. She knew it was a possibility, but she went out of her way to make sure it didn’t happen. And she thought she’d done enough, until she bumped into him after the race.
But she ignored the, quite frankly awkward, interaction and carried on with her day. Partying the night away and waking with the type of hangover that haves you questioning whether you should ever drink again.
“Y/n!” her best friend called out, the sound of her hotel room door slamming shut echoing through the room.
“Be quiet,” Y/n groans out, burying her face in the pillows scattered around her bed.
Her best friend laughs as she jumps onto her bed, shuffling to lay on her side, facing Y/n. “You’ll never guess what I saw this morning.”
Y/n rolls her eyes, expecting something rather insignificant, “What?”
“Lando Norris is in your likes,” the grin never leaving her best friends’ face. She knows of Y/n’s encounter with Lando yesterday and she knows Y/n still cares for the man, though she’s convinced there’s more to it.
Y/n’s eyebrows furrow at her words, forgetting for a moment that she had posted at all last night. But she had, half-asleep when her drunken self decided it would be a good idea.
Relief falls over her when she opens her instagram and sees no embarrassing photos, God knows it wouldn’t have been the first time she’s done that. But sure enough, her best friend was right.
Liked by landonorris.
Yesterday was the first time they’d spoken
“Do I ask him why?” Y/n asks though it’s more rhetorical as before her best friend can answer, she’s opening Lando’s contact and typing. She wasn’t expecting a reply, she was expecting his number to have changed over the 7 years they’ve been no contact. So when his typing bubble appears she’s caught so off guard she almost doesn’t answer.

— the next day —
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Why? Why did I agree to this?
Her mind racing as she walks up to the cafe. Luckily the cafe wasn’t far from her hotel, close enough to walk. She could still turn around. Turn around, walk away and never need to see him again. Make up some bullshit excuse as to why she couldn’t go.
But then she looked up and saw him. His frame seated on a secluded table for two outside the cafe, his eyes wandering, clearly searching for her. She couldn’t turn back now; she’d feel too bad.
As she approached she watched how his eyes softened just a little as she walked over. She stood there awkwardly for a moment before he spoke up. “I got you a vanilla latte… I know they’re your favourite. Or they used to be…”
He remembered.
She nodded as she took the seat across from him, a small “thank you” escaping her mouth. Her hands curled around the mug in front of her as they both sat there in silence. “So… how have you been?”
“Oh um… good…” Lando’s initial response was short, timid; as if he was testing the waters. But the longer they sat there, the longer their conversation developed. They passed the weird, awkward phase and they fell into a rhythm. A rhythm similar to seven years ago. Though neither would admit it if asked.
They were there for almost 2 hours when Lando checked the clock and realised he had to leave. Even if deep down leaving was the last thing he wanted to do. “I should… probably go.”
“Oh.” Her voice was calm, though for a split second there was a flicker of disappointment. “Okay. Well… it was nice seeing you again.”
“You too…” Lando stood there awkwardly for a moment, as if debating what to do. Should he say something else? Does he hug her or is that weird? Ultimately, he landed on just giving a soft smile, a nod and turning around and walking away.
She fell back into her chair, a sigh leaving her lips as the Mediterranean sun beat down on her face.

Just let it go... (PedroPascalxreader) oneshot
Tumblr media
Your boyfriend, Pedro, back to home and finds you distraught on the couch. He's trying to do everything to comfort you.
Little sadness, low self-esteem, hurt/comort
*
Pedro returned from the gym and when the silence in the house found him, he felt worried. He was sure you were there because he put his keys next to yours. So why was it so quiet?
It's not like you were a loud person. You were very quiet compared to him. And yet, thanks to you, the house was teeming with life. There were always noises from the kitchen while you were preparing your meal. Or music was coming from the garden. And sometimes the sounds of the show you were watching came from the living room.
Even when you were working, he could hear how fast you were typing or talking to co-workers on the phone. So the silence was unsettling. He cautiously began to pace the house and finally found you in the living room. You were sitting on the couch curled up in a ball and stared blankly at the wall.
"Y/N, I'm back, sweetheart."
You jumped suddenly, as if someone had snapped you out of a trance. You looked at him and forced a small smile.
"Hi."
He immediately saw that your eyes were red. He quickly walked over to you and knelt by the couch. He place his hand on your knee.
"What happened?"
You were in a good mood when he left the house and now he was wondering what could have gone wrong.
You sighed heavily and shifted uneasily.
"Do you remember that new job I wanted got?" He nodded and you continued. "They sent me an e-mail. "Your qualifications are not enough for us." In other words, you sucks."
"Hey, hey, don't say that." He got up for a moment to kiss you on the forehead. "You know it's not like that. You said that there are 150 other people running for this job. Your qualifications are great and they just overlooked it."
You looked into his warm brown eyes. You really wanted to hug and kiss him, but the feeling of heaviness in your chest was too much. You knew he was right. It's just that someone else was a little better, or had a little more luck. Maybe he did better in the job interview. But that didn't make you any worse. However, there were thoughts that tormented you greatly.
"I was really hoping to get this job and make more money."
"We're not short of money."
"You, Pedro, you have enough money. I'm the one who still borrow from you."
He shook his head and grabbed your hand.
"Y/N, it doesn't matter. I don't care. You know I've been in a place like this myself. Do you know how many times I've borrowed money? I believe in you, honey.
"Okay" you replied resignedly. You don't have strength to argue with him.
He got up, hugged you and kissed your head.
"Would you like something to eat? I can make you a sandwich, or I'll warm up yesterday's dinner."
You shook your head. You felt your stomach still knotted.
"No, but if you're hungry, go ahead."
"How about that? I'll make popcorn and watch Lucifer with you. Hmm. What does that sound like?"
Your heart clenched at how sweet he was. You knew he didn't like your show, yet he was willing to sacrifice himself. But you refused again. Pedro wasn't going to give up.
"Do you want to go for a walk? To a cafe?"
You sighed heavily as you felt a new wave of tears welling up in your eyes. His efforts were wonderful but you felt too overwhelmed.
"Pedro, don't be angry, but... I just want to be alone, in silence."
He tilted his head and... He looked like a sad puppy whose toy had been taken away.
"I can't agree to that. I can be quiet, but I won't let you drown in this abyss of despair alone."
Before you could say anything he had already sat next to you and pulled you into his lap. You couldn't resist him. You rested your head against his chest and he wrapped his arms around you tightly. His lips touched your head as he whispered:
"Just let it go... I'm here, cariño ."
So you let go and the first tears fell onto his shirt. The heaviness in your chest was slowly easing and the feeling of being worthless slowly disappearing. Pedro's body heat gave to you comfort and a sense of safety. You gripped his arm tighter and whispered.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome, mi amor . We'll stay here as long as you need, but trust me, tomorrow will be a better day."
You nodded your head and closed your eyes. In your sweet Pedro's arms, it was easy to believe that things would get better.
*
A/N: Well, this happen to me today :( And I really need my "Pedro comfort zone".
I hope is well with you all <3

Raw Emotion
Chapter three of A Silent Cry
Wc- 1,401
Warnings- flashback, teen gojo, flirting, the slow burning is burning. (None of these are really warnings)
"Y/n!" Suguru called from afar. you see him waking towards you, an annoyed look on his face. You look behind him and see his two friends already staring at you. They quickly look away, gojo whistling while looking at the pretend watch on his wrist, and Shoko "reading" a book. You raise an eyebrow at Suguru who now stood in front of you.
"Wanna go to a cafe with me, Satoru and Shoko? Satoru has been practically on his hands and knees begging me to ask you" he sates as he shakes his head in an annoyance, pinching. His temple.
"sorry-" you begin to say, though, the desperate look in Sugurus eyes makes you feel bad.
"Y/n. He won't shut up" He pleads.
"yea, I'll go" you sigh. You didn't want to question why Gojo wanted you there so bad, you just brushed it off as him wanting to annoy Suguru.
Arriving at Dans Cafe, you instantly get hit with the smell of pastry's and the overwhelming sound of a crowded area making you dizzy. The sounds of children Laughing, people yelling, coughing, it was overstimulating. You looked around awkwardly for your friends, walking down to the end of the cafe. You instantly noticed a tall, white haired boy sitting at the booth. When you got a closer look Suguru and Shoko were there too. You sit next to Shoko across from the two boys. Suguru gave you a worried glance.
"Sorry y/n, I didn't know so many people would be here today." He troubled. You gave him a reassuring smile
"I'm okay" You respond, tho it is barely audible due to Gojos babbling about who knows what. You look to your right to Shoko who's pretending to listen and to Suguru who's now engaged on what he's saying, giving a light chuckle here and there. A part of you felt misplaced, why would they want you to be here with them? You only hung out with Suguru after class sometimes, because he was usually hanging out with Gojo and Shoko. And for these two, you've hardly ever had a conversation with them. Your thoughts as well as Gojos rambling are cut short tho due to Sugurus phone randomly blowing up with text, after text after text.
"woah, what girl did you upset?" Shoko jokes, making Gojo chuckle.
"yaga." his eyebrows furrow in confusion at the screen. He opens the text thread and faces the phone to Shoko. He turns to you and Gojo. "He wants me and Shoko to call him."
"Glad I'm not being called by that old man" Gojo scoffs, half joking. The other two sigh.
"He's probably calling about somthing YOU did.Don't do anything stupid while we're gone, looking at you satoru." Surgru sarcastically remarked.
"Hey! I'm not that bad!" Gojo pouts, making Suguru roll his eyes. Shoko and Suguru  walk away as he holds the phone up to his ear. You stare off in the direction they walked to, pondering many things. You thought about your next mission, what it would Entail, and what cursed tool you would use. How the weather was slightly more chilly than yesterday which means fall is coming. You couldn't not think about how damn loud people were in this area. Gojo examined your expression briefly.
"Whatcha thinking about pretty?" Gojo smirks while leaning his head back on the chair. You came back to reality, raising your eyebrow at the nickname towards you that came from his lips. You didn't bother to interrogate him tho.
"my next mission-" you falter. Gojo had taken his sunglasses off revealing his ice blue eyes. You stare at them, maybe for a little too long because of how Gojo made a cocky joke of some sort. They were beautiful, that's not why you were staring at them tho. In this moment you feel a faint sadness in Gojos eyes, almost like it was oppressed. Despite it being distant, it was oh so powerful. You could feel the isolated emotion that radiated off of his eyes.
"Gojo-" you commence.
"Call me Satoru" he smiles at you as he leans his cheek onto his palm.
"Satoru are you... lonely?" You surprisingly say, catching Satoru and you off guard.
"huh." He gave a dumb smile, he was confused on  your sudden statement.
"Heyy" Shoko shouted, waving at you. Suguru smiled with two plates in his hand. Satoru gasped at the food, looking down on it in awe.
"Did you get somthing for yours truly???" Satoru points to himself using his thumb.
"Yea, I knew you would say somthing like that." He shakes his dead with a smile, handing Satoru the plate.
"yay!" He cheers, leaning too far onto the table to grab the plate that  had a vanilla piece of cake on it. He looses his balance and falls directly onto the plate that wasn't stable in Sugurus hand. The plate fell to the floor along with Satorus face. The cafe goes silent, your eyebrows raise and you try to stop your impending smile. For your first time being here, you burst out laughing. Your raw smile making everyone else follow suit. Your eyes flutter closed, stomach hurting from laughing so much.
What you didn't see though, was Satorus frosting filled face looking up at you. Studying your pretty smile and the way your lashes fell onto your gorgeous cheekbones. His eyes whipped around your face for any imperfection, like he would see in other girls. There was none. He then found himself inspecting your facial harmony so he wouldn't forget it.
That moment was right before Suguru broke. Of course you noticed when he was depressed but he didn't dare to talk to you about it. It was also before a blue eyed lanky man stood in front of you. You process his words, examining his face for any type of joking manner but the eyes never lied. For the first time, or for the first time you thought, Gojo looked at you with a raw expression. It kinda freaked you out.
"Yea." You sniffle. A slight,faint smile almost formed on your lips as you wipe away your tears."I should be asking that to you."
"mm" he doesn't respond with a answer, he knows you would know anyways. You two stood in silence  for a couple of second's.
"If you ever need to talk, you know I'd be there for you." You mumble, a slight blush from embarrassment lies on your cheeks. You don't know why tho, you've always had no problem asking people if they were okay. With Gojo it was... werid?
    "Why?" He queried as he scratched his head, His eyebrows furrowed.
    "I-" you look at him at a loss for words. A question you asked yourself and never got the anwser to it. "I don't know." You finally put out. He just nods with a smile.
    "How come we never talked after that day?" He smirks, tying to lighten the mood. It's unnerving how well he can achieve that.
    "What day?" You tilt your head to the side with a confused smile. You knew what day, you knew because after that day you saw an unfamiliar glimmer in Gojos eyes. It was a mix of vulnerability and understanding, nevertheless you never knew what it was, You only knew it was a good feeling. After Suguru, that glimmer faded away, you never expected it to last anyways.
    "Nevermindddd" he acclaimed, waking up to you and handing you the papers that he never wanted to do himself. Gojo liked having someone who let him have no responsibility, and that person was you. His lanky fingers briefly brushed against yours. "My students are waiting on me, cya y/n!" He shouted because he was already somehow at the end of the hallway. You waved goodbye in return.

    suddenly you hear a beep on your phone, looking at the light you see a notification from a unsaved number. The text read "ya free tomorrow?" you smiled at your phone, a warm feeling washed over you for a millisecond. You knew who this was from.
End of chap 3!!
Authors note: I tried writing a different side of Gojo here, his character is actully really complex when I get to write vulnerable moments. I honestly thought it would be easy because on the surface, his personality is straight forward.

SAVIOUR COMPLEX (PT. 3)
(Pt 2)
Rating: M
TAGS: language/frightening scenes including stalking/hangovers/implied past abuse/Mark Hoffman being a c*p/reader is normal and likes to do normal things/Mark is protective bc it's his job but he's also problematic/because he's a cop
"Sure you don't need sunglasses?"
You shield your eyes from the garish sun that punishes you from the window beside you.
"Shut up," you mutter. You're letting the smell of your coffee settle before trying to drink it. Mark, on the other hand, is halfway through his second cup and eating breakfast.
The tinny sounds of the cafe are ringing in your ears and pounding against your skull. You groan.
"I'm fuckin' glad you stopped me when you did," you admit.
"I woulda let you go all night if I wasn't directly overseeing your safety."
"Good to know."
"Aren't you gonna order?"
"Do you want to see me throw up all of yesterday onto this freshly mopped floor? It's a near trick- I use it at parties."
"A simple 'no' woulda sufficed."
"Toast. I need toast."
If you'd had your head up, you would've seen Mark wave over a waiter. He clears his throat and you lift your face from where it rests on your palms.
"Oh. Um, two slices of white toast, please, with butter and jelly."
The waiter nods, says it'll be a couple minutes, then leaves. You don't have it in yourself to lay your head back down.
"Why'd you drag me out here?" You mumble.
"You don't like breakfast?"
You glare at him.
"Alright, fine. Just wanted to let you know that, if all goes well for the next week, you'll be rid of me. Got the update this morning."
You perk up a little. "Does that mean the Jigsaw killer stopped?"
Mark chuckles. "That is proprietary information. All you need to know is that they think you're safe enough to not need me."
You watch him eat. You've always considered it one of the most vulnerable states a person can be in. If someone eats in front of you, they trust you, at least a little. You notice the way his jaw ticks, his hair falling in his face every so often. He really is quite handsome, and in a different timeline you'd probably be attracted to his arrogant personality. But definitely not here. Not now.
The waiter brings your toast and you start it slowly, but soon are consuming it with little thought to your stomach.
"Any big plans for the day?" He asks.
"Well, I don't have work. Probably go running, read, grocery shop. Regular, boring stuff. Why? You wanna do the domestics with me?" You joke. Mark shrugs.
"Hey, sounds to me like looking after you is like a day off. Where do you run?"
You stare at him, your mouth hanging open in a way that is, frankly, embarrassing. He looks at you in confusion.
"What?"
You shake yourself out of the stupor.
"The park off 7th. It has a track back in the woods."
"Damn, you're really trying to put yourself in the most vulnerable positions."
You sigh in exasperation. "It's the same shit I've always done-"
"I'm just joking."
"I thought jokes were supposed to be funny," you mutter. Mark deadpans.
"Haha."
True to his word, Hoffman shows up to the walking trail at the park...and he's in running gear. He's in a sleeveless hoodie and basketball shorts. The only thing he's missing is a sweatband.
And you. You nearly piss yourself laughing.
"Holy shit!"
"Thought you'd get a kick out of it."
"Aw, did you get all dolled up for me?" You say between snorts.
"I'm not jogging in a suit," he remarks, now frowning at your comments.
"Are the tags still on it?"
"You know I can leave you out here."
"Then it'd be time to update your resume."
You two begin with a brisk walk that turns to a jog. You go like this for about ten minutes of uninterrupted silence until you come to a pond.
"Hey, I always stop here. Wanna sit?"
Your both out of breath and Mark merely nods as you both plant yourselves on a bench. You take a moment to relish in the warm breeze as it passes over your skin and through the thick pines above.
"Why here?"
Mark's voice breaks you from your reverie.
"It started as a place to go to feel safe. Now it just feels familiar. It's my favorite place besides home."
"You felt unsafe?"
You give him a tight lipped smile. "Haven't we all? Besides. I'm moving on."
It's not untrue. But your words carry a sense of space and time. You have neither.
You're almost disappointed when Mark doesn't do the grocery routine with you. You think of all the opportunities it would give for you to poke fun at him and him do the same to you.
He's nicer than you had expected, for a cop. He can be a pain in the ass, usually is, but he also seems to have your best interest at heart. He's laid back (maybe more than he should be) now that you're not constantly antagonizing him.
All in all, it's growing more bearable.
You even sleep better, knowing that there's someone who's got your back.
You hadn't told them everything. You do like Mark's company, his watchfulness.
You're laying in bed. It's 1 am and you're still awake, but only because you'd finally managed to start a consistent patch on your knitting. The only lighting is the lamps which you know is bad on your eyes, but you like the dimness. It's where you feel at peace.
You don't see it at first. You're looking up to catch a glimpse at the tv, playing some late night crime drama, when you notice something out of the corner of your eye. It's the window at the end of your room.
There's no question or no hesitation. They're eyes. And they're staring right at you.
At first, you don't move, as if it's dinosaur rules. Like those eyes will forget you. Then they blink, and they're gone.
You shoot out of your bed and nab your phone from the nightstand, pressing 3, for Mark's speed dial number. After a few rings at a nail biting pace, he answers.
"Hello?"
You lock your bedroom door and sit with your back to it.
"Someone's outside my apartment."
"What? You sure?"
"Of course I'm fucking sure! He was outside my window. Jesus, Mark, please get here."
"Alright alright, I'm on my way. Call the police too, just to be safe. Make sure your doors are locked."
"Okay. Mark?"
"Yes?"
"Mark? Hurry. Please."
You hang up and clutch the phone to your chest. You debate sprinting to the kitchen for the knife but you can't move. The idea that you may not have locked your front door haunts the back of your mind.
Time is meaningless and empty as you sit. However long it's been, you hear a pounding on your front door. Your bones are solid concrete and don't allow you to move. Eventually, the banging stops.
Then, a face at your window. You scream.
"Y/n!"
It's a muffled sound for the glass but you know the voice isn't the one you fear. Mark's outside. You scramble up, throw open your bedroom door, and unlock the front door. Mark's hands find your shoulders as you hyperventilate.
"Oh my god, Mark."
You're crying. You're sobbing.
"You're alright. You're safe."
No, you were not alright or safe. He had been outside your window. He knows where you live.
A pained sound escapes you and you clutch onto Mark's jacket before falling into him. If you had your wits about you, embarrassment for relying on him so vulnerably would seize you. But instead he guides you inside, closing the door behind you, as you shake with your sobs. He sits you on the couch, then leaves, then returns with a glass of water. But you can't hold it without spilling it everywhere.
"What did he look like?"
What do you say?
"Um...I didn't see him."
Mark's hold on your forearm, barely perceptibly, tightens.
"At all?"
You shake your head and your eyes burn.
"No."
"I was just outside your window. With the lighting available and the surrounding area, it's almost impossible to have not seen him. So, what aren't you telling me?"
You very quickly realize how close you are to him, the way his body cages you against the couch. A man easily twice your size, a cop, with a gun, is towering over you.
You stand and shake out your hands. Mark watches you.
"How long until the cops get here?"
"Any minute. I made another call on the way here."
You slow, look at him.
"How'd you get here so fast?"
His eyes narrow at you.
"I was out on another call. What's your point?"
"Nothing." You shake your head again and hold your arms, pacing back and forth. He stands from the sofa. When he does, you flinch.
At this, he freezes.
"Y/n..."
He takes another step forward. You step back.
"Okay. I understand. But you're safe. You're okay."
You scowl. "I don't fucking feel okay. Right now I'm alone and vulnerable with a cop that I know doesn't play by the book."
"What happened to you wanting me here?"
"I don't know. What happened to you making me feel safe?"
"Feel has nothing to do with it. You're safe right now; I'm doing my job."
You're both still, and you dare not to breathe until you hear the sirens tearing down the street. Mark sighs out his nose and goes through the front door to greet the police. You sit on the couch. Your whole body feels cold.
He has a point. What did happen to that trust? Did it suddenly melt away?
But you know. Your trust has snapped. It was tenuous to begin with. That's not your fault. If he was really good at his job, he should've clocked it by now. You're a textbook case.
Other police come in to get your statements. Someone suggests that Hoffman stay the night, or that you get taken to a safe house, but you insist upon neither. You'd really hate to have a repeat of earlier, but you can't stand to leave right now, nor are you totally comfortable with Hoffman in the house with you. They all decide to have a couple officers post up outside for the remainder of the evening.
"Well," Hoffman huffs at the door. "Let me know if you need anything else. Though I doubt you will."
A small drip of guilt tugs at your gut but you wave it away. You're so tired.
"Right," you say, tapping on the doorframe.
"Just remember. I've done nothing but help you. And I don't appreciate you all but making accusations against me."
Danger pricks at the back of your neck. "You're not making a great care for yourself right now."
Mark inhales, stiffens, then relaxes as though he's made up his mind about something.
"Right. Well, get some sleep. Maybe close your curtains."
You slam the door behind him and lock it. You return to your room and cuddle up into bed, but despite your exhaustion, you can't sleep. And even though you can't think about Hoffman, you take his advice about the curtains. But you can't turn away from the window either. So you stare at the ceiling. Think about tomorrow. You know you'll be called into the station. You know you'll have to face Hoffman.
You can't quite get a read on him. Only hours ago were you having a genuine connection with him. He responded immediately to your call and came to your side. And yet...
He's an intense man; there's no denying it. But if you can't get a grip on it, you'll drown under its weight.
So is it him? Or is it your own mind betraying you? Sabotaging your connection with another man, even as an acquaintance?
Before you know it, the sun has come up. You get a shower and dress as normal. You eat breakfast. You take the call to the station as normal. You leave your apartment, heart sinking when Hoffman's car is absent, and you try to walk to the main road for a cab as normal. But nothing about this is normal because he's seen you and you've seen him.
And you're beginning to think you'll never have a normal day again.

The Color Pink (Part 10)
Uhhh this one took me a while to get to bc my brain went on vacation.
Hazel had been on cloud nine since her last date with The Noise. Even though it had been days, it felt like it all happened yesterday. For some strange reason, life felt completely different. She found herself smiling a lot, especially when she thought of him. She was itching to see him again, but she didn't want to seem clingy. However, she couldn't seem to contain herself. It had been so long since she felt a love like this, and she wanted to cherish every moment. She paced back and forth as she waited for their usual 7 o'clock phone call. The phone rang, and she picked it up without hesitation; "Hi, Theo!"
"Hey! How-"
"We should go on another date!"
He chuckled. "Eager, aren't we?"
"Yeah, I am. Sorry," she laughed nervously.
"I mean, I don't disagree."
"Great!"
"What were you thinking we do?"
"Um... I didn't think about that."
"I don't have any ideas."
"Hmmm..."
They went silent for a minute.
"Oh!" Hazel said, "I got it! Why don't we go stargazing? There's an opening in Picnic Park where you can see the stars!"
"How... How does that work?"
"What?"
"How can we see the stars when we're in a tower?"
"I don't know. I try not to think about it too much, it gives me a headache."
"That's fair."
"Do you maybe want to do it tonight?"
"That's a little short notice. I'm also kind of tired."
"Right, right, right. Sorry. I'm just excited to see you."
He chuckled again. "It's okay. If you want, we can do it tomorrow night, though."
Hazel hummed in thought for a minute. "Oh, yeah, that actually works out better. I'm not opening the cafe tomorrow."
"How come?"
"I want a three day weekend. I need some time off."
"That's understandable. I do that every now and again. I can set my own hours sometimes. It has to be approved occasionally. There was one time I took a week off because I just didn't feel like going to work."
"Really? That sounds... nice."
"It is, but I got so behind. It was bad. So yeah, that's why some of my extra days off need to be pre-approved."
"I try not to take too many days off. I guess it really doesn't matter much since I don't get a lot of customers."
"Hey, what did I say about that mindset?"
"I know, I know. I'm just saying. As much as I enjoy The Vigilante's company, it gets a little tiring hearing him rambling on and on about justice and this and that."
"Ugh, you deserve an award for dealing with him so often. I can't stand that guy."
"He's uh... He's an acquired taste."
"He suuuuucks!"
"Oh, be nice."
"That's not really my thing."
"Mhm, okay. I call bullshit."
"Yeah? How come?"
"You're nice to me."
"Only to you."
She let out a small giggle. "I believe that."
"I hate to cut it short, but I'm feeling really tired. I'm probably gonna make some food and head to bed."
"Okay. What time do you want to meet up tomorrow?"
"How about 8 or 9?"
"Why so late?"
"I thought you wanted to go stargazing."
"Oh! Right!" She laughed.
"Okay, well... Goodnight, Hazel."
"Goodnight, Theodore."
-
Hazel had suffered through the anticipation of the whole day waiting for their date. The day went by so slowly. She felt as if she was stuck in waiting mode. She got ready in something casual. She left her hair as was. She put on a cute pink Hello Kitty t-shirt with some straight leg blue jeans and white sneakers. She felt that she had been overeager to see him, so she wanted to dress to impressive. Play it cool, she thought.
She called a cab and headed down to the Gnome Forest. She walked over to Picnic Park. She saw some goblins that looked unusually like The Noise. She actually thought one of them was him, but when she called to it, it didn't respond. When she got to the park, she saw The Noise waiting for her. He was wearing a black t-shirt with a yellow bomber jacket and blue jeans with black Vans. He ran up to her and picked her up with a spin. She laughed as she held on to his shoulder.
"Hey," she spoke through laughter.
"Hi," he chuckled. "I was waiting for you." He put her down softly.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to be late."
"No, no, I got here kind of early. We didn't specify whether we were meeting at 8 or 9 so I got here at 8."
"Sorry."
"Stop apologizing! It's not your fault."
"Okay, okay." She giggled. "Here," she grabbed his hand. "I'll show you where the opening is."
"Heh heh..."
"What?"
He snickered. "Nothing, it's just the way you said that."
She smiled and shook her head. "You have a dirty mind."
He cackled as she tugged his arm. They came to a small area of grass. Above them was an opening in the trees that showed the night sky. Amazingly, the stars were bright and abundant. There were so many of them, which was funny considering they were inside a tower. Hazel looked at him and smiled when she saw him looking upward. "This is the spot I was telling you about."
"Yeah," he looked at her. "You weren't kidding."
"I mean, I haven't been here in a while. I really don't have to. If I want to go stargazing, all I would have to do is look at you."
He blushed and rubbed the back of his head. "Stop... I'm not that famous..."
"Are you kidding? You're like the most famous person in the tower. I think more people know you than Pizzaface."
"Whatever," he poked her, and she giggled.
Hazel sat down and so did Theo. They laid down slowly and looked up. The sky was pitch black, decorated with sparkling stars of white, red, green, and blue. The stars in the tower were so different from the stars outside. They had all sorts of different patterns and shapes.
"I remember," Theo spoke, "when I was a kid, we went to a planetarium as a school field trip. It was really cool."
"I went to one, too," Hazel responded, "my school did the same thing!"
"We got to see space ship equipment, pieces of space suits and meteorites. Then they took us to this dome room where they had all the stars. They showed us the constellations and told us their backstories."
"Really? I didn't get that experience as a kid."
"Yeah. The only constellation I can still spot is Orion. You can only see it during the winter. Well, it starts in the fall, and that's how I know winter's coming."
"That's really cool! I don't know where the constellations are. I only really know what they're called."
"I'm surprised no one's made up constellations for the stars in here."
"We could make some."
"Yeah, we could, but I'm not the most creative."
She looked at him. "Really? You, not the creative type?" She was very sarcastic.
He looked at her and laughed. "I guess I am, but not when it comes to constellations."
"Let's test it out." She pointed at a few stars in the shape of two squares. "How about that one?"
"Uhhh... A book, maybe?"
"Or nerdy glasses."
He chuckled. "That one kind of sucked."
She slapped his forearm. "Be nice!"
"I am!" He laughed.
She sighed, "I guess you're right. Two squares isn't the most impressive thing in the world."
"Hmmm..." He pointed at some stars in the shape of an asterisk. "How about that one?"
"Mmm... I don't really see anything."
"It's a flower." He grabbed her hand and traced the pattern with her finger.
"Oh! I see it now!"
He snickered. As she continued to stare at the stars, he turned his head to her. He observed her and how pretty she was. He scanned her from her head to her toes with a smile on his face. He was completely enamored by her. This beautiful girl lay beside him. He thought about how he was originally flirting with her out of lust, but quickly, he fell for her. He had never met anyone quite like her. She was so kind, upbeat, and outgoing. She brought out a side of him that he didn't even know existed. She turned her head to him and noticed him staring.
"Hi," she spoke.
"Hey," he replied.
"Why are you staring at me?"
"I don't know."
"You sure?"
"I... Heh, I don't know that either." He chuckled nervously.
"I have to ask you about something you said."
"Oh?"
"It was, uh... something you said when you were drunk."
His eyes widened, and his heart sank. "Oh..." He didn't remember what he had said to her.
"You told me... Well, you told me that you liked me."
"..." He stared at her in bewilderment.
"What did you mean by that?"
"Oh, well, um..." He looked up at the sky and gulped. "I, uh..." He took a deep breath and sighed. "Hazel... I like you. I like your eyes. I like your smile. I like the way you talk. I like the way your voice sounds. I like how you get excited over the smallest of things. I like how you squeak and hop around when you're happy. I like that you're resilient and don't give up when things get challenging. I like that you're authentically yourself no matter what. I like it when you come around, and I like it when you're there. I like that you treat me like a normal person. I like that you worry about me, like when it was raining and you were worried I'd get sick. I like that you're a bit assertive with me. I like that we call and talk on the phone every day. I like how soft your hands are, and I like when you let me hold them. I like it when we hug. A-a-and I liked it when we kissed. I like that you make me nervous but you also make me calm.
I like you, Hazel. I really, really do."
Hazel was smiling with tears in her eyes. "Wow, Theodore... That's the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me."
He sat up. "I just," he sighed, "I don't want to rush things. I don't want to get my heart broken, and I surely don't want to break yours. I guess, in a way, I'm afraid. I already feel like I don't deserve you, like you're too good for me. You're such a genuinely sweet and good person, and well... To be honest, when I first met you, I was only flirting with you to get lucky. And before I met you, I was basically an alcoholic. I drank before work, after work, in the morning, and before bed. I stopped drinking as much once we started talking. I'm still working on getting my drinking under control. I'm short-tempered and nasty. There's so many horrible, horrible things about me that you haven't seen yet. So many things that make me feel like I shouldn't be doing this with you." Theo sniffled and wiped a tear from his eye.
"Theodore, look," Hazel sat up, scooted next to him, and gently grabbed the side of his face to make him look at her. "I like you, too. I like how nervous you get. I like that you're pushing through that nervousness for me. I like that you care about me. I like that you try to help me out with my business. I like that you make time for me when you're so busy. I like your smile. I like your laugh. I like that you're so silly and goofy. I like that you're truthful with me. I like that you told me about all that.
But you know what I don't like? I don't like how hard you are on yourself. I don't like that you seem to think that you're such a horrible person. I don't like that you see all the good things in me but none of the good things about yourself. There are bad things about me, too. Things you haven't seen yet. Things that you're probably not going to like, things that I don't even like.
I think you're good enough for me. Matter of fact, I think you're even better than that. Come here."
She pulled him in for a hug. He sniffled again and shed a few silent tears into her shoulder. She pulled back to see that he was crying. She put her hands on his cheeks. "No tears," she said ever so softly. "I like you, too. Okay?"
He nodded and took a deep breath. "Okay."
She hugged him again and rubbed his back. She felt his whole body relax in her arms. He felt her shiver slightly and pulled back.
"Are you okay," he asked worriedly.
"I'm fine, I'm just a little cold." She smiled and shrugged.
He took off his jacket and wrapped it around her shoulders. "Here."
"Oh, no, no," she tried to stop him.
"No, you're cold."
"But you'll-"
"Hazel." He looked her in the eye. "You need this more than I do."
She smiled and blushed as she put her arms through the sleeves of the jacket. "Are you sure you'll be okay?"
"I have a pretty good cold tolerance. I'll be fine."
They laid down side by side with their hands clasped together, their fingers intertwined. Hazel felt incredibly warm and safe with his jacket around her. She leaned her head on Theodore's shoulder as they continued to stargaze. They continued to point out silly shapes they noticed in the stars and gave them even sillier names. As the night continued on, things got quiet. Theo got a little concerned. He looked over to see that Hazel had dozed off on his shoulder. He smiled and snickered. He nudged her gently with his elbow to wake her up. She slowly picked her head up. Her eyes were squinted with confusion.
"Hey," he spoke under his breath.
"What happened," she muttered.
"You fell asleep."
She shot up. "Oh, my gosh! I'm so sorry!"
He sat up and laughed. "It's okay."
She covered her face in embarrassment. "I'm not usually up this late." She huffed. "I'm usually in bed super early so I can wake up early for the cafe."
"Do you wanna go home?"
"No! I mean, yeah, but..."
"Want me to take you home?"
"No, I'll call a cab this time. Thanks, though."
"Come on," he stood up and held his hand out. "I'll walk you to the street."
She grabbed his hand, and he helped her up. They walked slowly through the park with their hands held. Hazel was so flustered, she couldn't believe she fell asleep on him during their date! Theodore thought it was absolutely adorable that she felt safe enough with him to fall asleep on his shoulder. He wasn't at all mad. As they strolled towards the street, Theodore stopped her and leaned on a tree. He grabbed her other hand and held both of them.
"Why are we stopping?" She was incredibly confused.
Theodore's heart was racing. His legs were weak and felt like they could give out at any moment. With a nervous smile, he asked,
"Hazel... Will you be my girlfriend?"
Hazel's eyes grew wide and she gasped.
"Oh... My... Gosh!!!" She jumped up and down with her hands still in his. "Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! YESSS!!!" She let out a small squeal before she yanked him into hug, still hopping around and giggling in joy. When they pulled away from the hug, she grabbed the back of his head and kissed him deeply. She started to giggle and hop around again, her hands on his shoulders, his hands on hers. Her cab pulled up, and she looked at it before kissing him again.
"I have to go," she said with a giant smile.
"Yeah. I'll see you."
"Bye!" She pecked him on the lips one more time. "I'll call you tomorrow, okay?"
"Okay. Go home, go to bed." He pat her on the shoulder as she ran towards the cab.
He watched her run off with a giant smile on his face. She couldn't see it, but his face was beet red. He was so happy she said yes. He couldn't believe he finally worked up the courage to ask her. After the conversation they had before, he finally felt secure enough. He was a bit anxious, but he had to take the chance. And he was so glad he did.
That night, Hazel had trouble sleeping. She was suddenly struck with energy and excitement after he asked her out. She paced around her bedroom for a good hour before she settled down to sleep. She realized she forgot to give him back his jacket in her fit of exhilaration. But it was so soft and warm, and it smelled like him, too. She finally laid down, falling asleep while wearing his jacket.

Cruel summer 4 - P.SH
Tumblr media
word count: 3k, fluff, suggestive
warnings: none specifically
series masterlist
‘’I can’t get this’’ You yelled, falling back into the water.
‘’You can, let’s try it one more time, focus on what I did’’ Seonghwa replied, swimming towards you as you were practicing one of his signature surf moves. A hard twist he had under his control ultimately, yet something you couldn’t do after what felt like a hundred tries.
Seonghwa had knocked on your door this early morning, surfboard in hand as he looked at you with a bright smile. You didn’t see him at all yesterday, after both of you went stargazing the night before. So you thought maybe you crossed a line, or that he didn’t consider you as a friend. The careless attitude you had was sometimes just a facade for all the overthinking going on in your head. Yet when he showed up this morning, all the doubts went away when he told you he had to help his uncle out in his surf shop the entire day, not being able to come to the cafe.
Both of you went on for a while, moving around in the water and trying to go in sync with each other which horribly failed as both of you had completely different techniques. So when you rested on the sand for a while, you noticed the redness of his cheeks, realizing he probably didn’t put on sunscreen.
‘’Have you put on sunscreen?’’ You asked him, fingers ghosting his red nose.
‘’No, I forgot’’
‘’Seonghwa! I told you how important it is’’ You exclaimed, making him laugh.
‘’I know, but I forgot it at home’’
‘’Let’s go for a walk then, I need to stretch my body for a bit’’ You said, Seonghwa agreeing before both of you started to put on lighter clothes after taking off the wetsuit, the bikini underneath is still a bit damp as you put on some jean shorts.
Seonghwa’s house was just behind the beach, a bungalow with a dark brown wooden theme. It was huge though, the pool in the back visible as you made your way through the front door.
‘’Is this your own place?’’ You asked, wondering how he could afford this while you were living off leftovers in your student life. You gazed around, noticing the interior seemed a bit cold, there were no pictures on the wall, no adorable flowers on the coffee table and no warmth radiating off the marble floor. Yet it did feel like a home, as if memories were made without evidence of them.
‘’Yeah, it used to be my mom’s’’ He said, walking into the kitchen to find the sunscreen on the countertop. You wanted to ask about the word ‘used’ to see if he was slightly ready to open up, but before you got the chance his deep voice was heard again.  ‘’Can you put it on me?’’ He pouted,  making you chuckle as you shook your head disapprovingly. You decided to drop the question, waiting for him to open up to you himself.
‘’How old are you?’’ You playfully asked, taking the bottle out of his hand as you squirted a tiny bit on your pointer finger, placing dots all over his face as you stepped a bit closer, examining his perfect features in the process. He was tall, so you had to stand on your tippy-toes while he was staring at your eyes, before moving down to your lips as they were so close to his. You rubbed the creme over his face softly, before moving on to the next spot which made him lean even closer.
‘’How is your skin so smooth?’’ You mumbled, in awe of his perfect skin.
He ignored the comment, noticing the piece of hair in front of your eyes, his hand coming up to slowly tuck it behind your ear. You stopped in your tracks, Seonghwa’s hand remaining on your face as his thumb rested on your cheek. He was holding it like you were delicate, as if a bit more pressure could break you.
His eyes fell back to your lips, before his thumb fell on them, your mouth opening as he looked back into your eyes. You were so close to kissing him, him leaning down to almost close the distance, feeling his breath on yours. You lost balance while you stood on your toes because of the slight pull towards him, falling against his chest as his other arm came around your waist, your front pressed against his.
‘’Careful’’ He whispered in a low voice, making butterflies erupt in your stomach as you couldn’t bring yourself to look up at him, afraid of how close both of your faces would b if you did. You felt his hand on your waist, burning the skin with his touch and you couldn’t stop yourself from blushing. Before he could do anything else, you heard a sudden bang from behind you, making you snap your head back to see the door closed shut. You looked at Seonghwa with a scared look, a smile taking over his lips.
‘’`The wind’’
You started laughing in embarrassment at the moment, realizing the two of you were about to kiss, your head falling against his chest at the timing of the wind as he laughed with you, his hand coming up to stroke your hair. You looked back at him, missing the way his lips felt so close already, before rising back on your toes and pecking him on the pillowy lips, your hands on his chest as you leaned back, realizing what you just did.
‘’I’m sorry I-’’ Regrets started flooding your brain, but before you could continue you were cut off.
Seonghwa placed his lips on yours, cutting you off as he deepened the kiss, his hand supporting your head on the back of your neck as your knees got wobbly.  Your arm went around his neck, feeling his lips move with yours blissfully, before his tongue teased your lower lip, making you open your mouth. He turned both of you around, his hand coming under your thigh as he lifted you up, placing you down on the countertop.
You couldn’t get enough of his lips, smiling against them as you placed your hands on his jawline. He kissed you deep and intense, like he had waited for this moment for ages, before parting as he leaned his head against yours with a smile plastered on his face.
You pulled him back in, this time a bit more slowly as you tilted your head to match his rhythm, feeling your insides twist with every slight groan that left his mouth, almost inaudible if you weren’t so pressed up against him. Your hands were resting around his shoulder as you both turned it into a lazy make-out session, not getting enough of the feeling.
-
‘’I don’t get how you do this’’ You said, peeking behind him at the perfectly made surfboard.
After the kiss a few days ago, you’ve been hanging out with Seonghwa constantly, joining him on the beach, walking late at night with him,  helping each other with the small jobs you had— well, he helped you in the café, you gave him moral support in the surfing shop— and joining the group while both of you were stuck by each other’s side.
‘’It’s not easy, but I’ll teach you one day’’ He said, placing a kiss on your lips as your eyes lit up because of it, making him kiss your cheeks in adornment.
He knew he was falling for you, more than he would like to admit. He felt like someone else when he was with you, as if he was someone he hadn’t been for years. Someone who was bright and calm, excited to fall in love again instead of someone constantly sour and cold, which he turned into after his mother died.
He liked everything about you. He liked how carefree you were, living the day instead of thinking too much forward. Your cheerful attitude was contagious to everyone around you and the funny thing was you didn’t even notice it. You never asked him why. Someone he needed to move on and forget.
July 30th
You are regretting not coming here earlier in summer break, because if you did, you may have had more time with Seonghwa and the others.
 The first month of break consisted of working in the city though, saving money for the next semester, and applying for inter positions already as you tried to be fully prepared so you wouldn’t have to worry about it in your off-time. You knew yourself, and if you didn’t get your business for university together before coming here, you wouldn’t have enjoyed the time at all.
‘’Y/n? This is dangerous’’ Your thoughts got interrupted by the handsome man behind you.
‘’I know, that’s what makes it fun’’ You grunted, as you climbed the cliff at the very end of the beach. It wasn’t really a climb, you just had to get up a few rocks to get to the top. However, the sound of the water hitting the cliff underneath you two made Seonghwa cringe.
 ‘’Just a tiny bit higher’’ You said, throwing your leg over the upper part before climbing on it, seeing the ocean from a high view while Seonghwa followed right behind you, sighing in exhaustion.
‘’Look, how nice’’ You said, sitting down on the edge as your lower legs were dangling over it. Seonghwa dropped next to you, staying a bit further away from the edge. ‘’Are you afraid of heights?’’ You asked, noticing the fear on his face.
‘’Being at risk of falling into the water is not looking very appealing, no’’ He said, making you laugh.
‘’It’s not that bad, you could survive it’’ You replied, placing your head on his shoulder as you enjoyed the view ‘’I’ll save you when you fall’’
‘’I trust you with my life then’’ He said, a smile on his face, enjoying the moment with you, the sound of the waves beneath you making you sigh in contentment. ‘’You know that the waves are usually calm at this time, they just decide to act up when you are here’’ He said, observing the violent waves that crashed against the cliff.
‘’They love me’’ You looked up from his shoulder, making him place a kiss on your lips. ‘’Sometimes I wish I could stay here forever’’ You whispered, looking back at the ocean, the sight instantly calming you down. Seonghwa’s hand went around your shoulders, rubbing it up and down as he pulled you even closer.
‘’Me too’’
‘’Can you tell me something about you that no one knows?’’ He asked a few minutes later.
‘’I don’t know’’ You said, after a minute of thinking. Wondering what you were able to tell him which wouldn’t change the way he thought about you.
‘’Nothing?’’
‘’I love seals’’
He kept quiet, before bursting out laughing ‘’Can you be serious for a minute?’’ He asked after, throwing his head back.
‘’I’ve never told anyone that before!’’ You exclaimed, pushing his chest playfully as he pulled your hands towards him, your body crashing against his before he placed his lips on yours.
August 4th
You were currently at the lake, chilling on the grass as you were having a small picnic with him. Your head was laying on his lap, a book in his hand as he read to you while you played with his other hand. Your gaze went to his face, admiring his features, the shining black hair falling loosely on his forehead, his eyes tracing the words before averting to yours. He smiled at you, leaning down to place a kiss on your nose as you buried your face in your hands.
‘’Don’t hide from me’’ He said, taking your wrists in his hand as you pulled them away from your face. ‘’You were staring at me, weren’t you?’’
‘’Maybe, it’s hard not to’’ You mumbled, going back to playing with his hands as he laughed with you. He placed the book down, leaning back down to kiss your lips, before you got up to kiss him properly, his hand landing on your thigh as yours came up to his cheek.
You were wearing a skirt, maybe not the safest choice today, as your core was placed against his thigh. His hand slowly rid up your thigh, the skirt riding up more and more as you continued making out with him, your breathing becoming heavier every time you inhaled. He felt your legs closing, moving his lips towards your neck as you couldn’t stop but let out a sigh.
He pulled away shortly after, though, making you pout.
‘’We’ve got plenty of time, let’s take it slow, darling’’ He said, making you drop your head in his neck as you smiled. This man would become the death of you.
You felt yourself lowly falling for him more and more as you couldn’t really stop yourself from doing so. Not when he always made you feel so different like you were another person. Something nobody has ever made you feel and a feeling you didn’t want to lose just yet, even if that meant going through the pain when the dream would be over.
A few more weeks, you told yourself.
August 6th
It was raining today, and you spent the entire morning in bed, reading the same book again as you were stupid enough to only bring one. However, you weren’t really focusing on the book when all you were thinking about was Seonghwa. You had texted him this morning, but he didn’t reply yet, so you figured he was probably busy with something. You had spent the whole day with him yesterday once again, cooking together for the boys in the evening and parting ways in the middle of the night as Jongho walked home with you.
‘’So you and Seonghwa, huh?’’ He said, looking at you mischievously as a smile took over your face.
The past days with Seonghwa had been nothing but dreamy. You felt something different with him, as if he was the first person that utterly and completely liked you for being yourself. Something you haven’t felt in a long time.
You were used to staying quiet, letting other people do the talking as you observed. However, you turned into a different person this summer, telling yourself to spend this time being someone you haven’t been before, yourself.
Then eventually, when you’d go back to the city, you’ll be the same again, and it’ll be like you and Seonghwa had never met
‘’Nope, not talking about this’’
‘’Oh come on, we are close’’ He sulked, pushing your shoulder as you shook your head, but when you looked at his face and saw the adorable puppy eyes, you couldn’t deny him.
‘’I don’t know what we are’’ You said, shrugging.
And you were completely honest at that moment because you wished you would be able to tell him what you guys were. Not just friends, souls who were the same, a bit broken inside but prepared to pretend they were not.
You dropped your book on the bed, sighing in frustration as you longed for his touch. You already missed his fingertips tracing your skin, leaving a burning sensation behind as you fell deeper into his touch. Or the way he kissed your cheeks when you blushed because of him.
So you got up, threw on a hoodie, and walked downstairs. You found your mom and aunt in the kitchen, trying to figure out a new recipe for the café, as you quickly bid them goodbye. They didn’t have time to stop you before you were out of the door, walking fast through the streaming rain to Seonghwa’s place.
You knew it would be a bad idea, that it would only hurt more when you would eventually leave the town. However, that didn’t stop you just yet, not when you saw the familiar bungalow down the street after a while. Your hoodie was already soaked, the sky breaking open with the sound of thunder just as you made it in front of his door.
You knocked, waiting for a bit, before knocking again, thrice without anyone answering. You checked your phone, and your messages to Seonghwa were still unanswered. So you started worrying.
Is he okay? Where would he be? He told you yesterday he would be free today so why isn’t he answering? Your mind started forming all kinds of scenarios and before you knew it, you tried to open the door. Surprisingly, it opened right away, indicating someone was probably home.
‘’Seonghwa?’’ You said, voice barely above a whisper as you slowly made your way inside. Your dripping clothes formed a pool of water as you stood in the doorway, not daring to go any further. Until you heard a sniffle, coming from the room in the hallway.
You strutted forward, repeating his name as you walked towards the sound, finding him sitting on the floor as he was leaning against the bed. His arms were placed on his knees defeatedly, before you noticed the tears streaming down his face as he didn’t dare to glance at you.
‘’Seonghwa’’ You whispered once again, afraid the scare him as you slowly got closer to him. He looked up at you with red, puffy eyes, as if he’d been crying for the past hour. You dropped down next to him, taking his face in your hands as you wiped away the tears. ‘’Are you okay?’’
‘’It rained when she- when she..’’ He didn’t finish the sentence, more tears falling from his eyes as he sobbed. ‘’She died when it rained, Y/n’’
Your heart broke at the view, pulling him close to you as he sobbed into your hoodie, his hands holding you so tight you almost couldn’t breathe.
“It’s okay, I’m here, It’s okay’’ You chanted, scared of the way he held onto you as if you would leave.
‘’It was my fault’’ He sobbed, making tears form in your own eyes, before you started stroking his head softly to comfort him. ‘’I killed her, it was my fault she died’’
‘’Shh Seonghwa, don’t say that’’
You felt your heart break, figuring out he wasn’t as tough as he seemed to be.

The day was almost ending, the sun setting and the moon rising. Some were on their way home, while others had just made their way out. The sounds of cars and people, alongside her own friend‘s chatting, fell into a blur. Different thoughts were playing on her mind as the two walked, passing all kinds of places in the city.
“Hellllloooo, earth to Nora!” Ryujin waved her hand in front of the girl’s face, pulling her out of whatever she was thinking. Since the beginning of the hangout, the two promised each other, Nora was quiet, maybe a few words here and there, but that was about it. “Did you listen to anything I said?”
“Hmm? Sorry, I was, but then I zoned out.” She apologised briefly. Reasonable and believable, but not reasonable and believable enough. She was hiding something, and Ryujin could sense it, -‘the Nora senses’- is what she’d call it.
”What’s on your mind?” She asked, but Nora had dismissed it again, saying it was nothing and that she should just continue her topic. Again, Ryujin still didn’t believe her. “It was just me complaining about Keeho being annoying as usual, so nothing new.” She explained, watching Nora nod before continuing, “But there’s obviously something new that you’re not telling me.”
— and she was right.
Nora did zone out, yes, but it was also because of the thoughts that had been disturbing her focus the entire day. She sighed.
“I actually don’t know myself,” — “it’s…, I don’t know, confusing?”
“Shoot.”
“Do you remember the guys I met yesterday at the cafe?”
”Those nosy guys, how can I not?” Ryujin scoffed, though there was a hint of a teasing smile on her face. “What about them?”
“Well there is one of them that I sort of knew long ago, and I guess seeing him kind of felt… weird? But on his side, it was like he didn't remember me, not even the slightest bit. So when he texted me, I was really shocked, I thought that he'd mention the past and ask to meet up, but all he did was ask me to unblock his friends. And then there's the time when I saw him at the cafè and even then he didn't show any signs at all.” Nora explained as she settled her gaze back to the ground, watching her feet as they continued walking, “ It's just, I guess, me and him were sort of close back then in middle school. If anything, he was actually the only friend I had back then, also the only one who made me feel safe during that time and the only reason that I felt excited to come to school. I really looked up to him, but then on a random thursday I found out that he had transferred schools, and I never knew why, which is why I won't hate him for it because it could be a personal reason that he never told me about.” Nora finished, a tight smile on her voice as she was reminded of the old memories. “However, I can understand if he doesn't remember me, I did change a quite a lot since middle school physically. But it still feels strange to see him again after so long, you know?”
Ryujin, who was listening attentively, nodded in understanding and secretly admiring her friend for not holding a grudge against the mysterious guy and instead searching for the possibility behind it. “You're better than me, I would've probably glared at him the second I saw him.” She said, smiling when she heard her friend laugh. Though, a question was still lingering on her mind. “So, who's this mysterious boy?” She asked, nudging her shoulder against the girl’s.
“Sungchan.”

Chapter Five: Sounds Like A Date
The date!! Writing this was so so fun that I’ve already begun the next two chapters :)))
Notes:
AHHHHHHHHHHHH
when I tell you I love every single one of you from the deepest depths of my heart.
thank you all for the love and support, and I hope you enjoy <3
Also I’m so sorry for disappearing… I kinda deleted tumblr on accident and forgot it existed…
ANYWAY HERES THE CHAPTER
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was colder than you thought it was going to be. You clung your light sweater, while you walked down the sidewalk to the cafe. You knew the place, and you were delighted to know that Oak did too.
After grocery shopping yesterday you had gone home and gotten some gardening done, you knew that the first frost might come soon, and you were glad you did considering the goosebumps running down your arms.
You knew today would be interesting, you hadn't known Oak had a brother until yesterday and your mouth lit in a smile when you thought about meeting him. You'd admit, you had a lot of fun. More fun grocery shopping than you had in a while. He was sweet, despite his gruff demeanor.
The coffee shop came into view and you found yourself grinning. You didn't see Oak and his brother yet, but you were a little early. You didn't mind waiting a little.
Just then a light breeze wept your skirt into the wind and sent chills down your spine.
Maybe you should wait from inside the cafe.
~
"Brother!" Oak heard his brother call him from the first floor of their home. He fingered the beanie in his hand, hating that he had to wear it. The material aggravated his skull, but he knew he'd get even more stares if he didn't wear it. He tried not to care, but he knew his injury made him look down right murderous. Even his housemates sometimes flinched when they looked at him, not being able to catch themselves in time.
The only people who were able to look at him without flinching were his brother. And you.
He thought of your face then, a light blush taking over his skull. He was so excited when you accepted his invitation. Some of his old personality floated back to him, and words came to him so easily. He felt like himself around you, in a way that he had only ever felt with his brother. And occasionally with Red. Never really with Classic. 'Prime Sans'. He hated the way that was how he thought of him.
'Prime', like he was somehow the first, and all of them came after. That wasn't how the multiverse worked. Classic was just lucky enough to be the first of them to start working on that machine.
Though, he thought bitterly, he'd probably never have the chance to work on that machine back home. He never would have made it to the surface anyway.
He closed his sockets and felt the air shift, and the floor drop from his feet. Then the floor was back and he was looking at his brother.
"hey bro."
"Sans!" His brother looked exasperated. He wore a smart turtleneck with a black overcoat, that didn't quite reach his calves because of his height. "We Cannot Be Late To Your Date! It Is Incredibly Uncouth." He looked at his brother's beanie for only a second but didn't say anything.
"it's okay bro. i know a shortcut." He grinned a little and right when his brother was about to complain about the laziness of 'short-cutting' Blue walked in, with Stretch only a moment behind.
Blue looked at them, "WELL DON'T YOU TWO LOOK ALL DRESSED UP! WHAT'S THE OCCASION?" He smiled, and seemed to be starting his breakfast, though it seemed a little late for him to only just then be awake.
Stretch, who looked much less thrilled to be awake than his brother, went to the couch to promptly flop onto it.
Poplar smiled gently, as to not cause any ache in his teeth. He had only just gotten his braces tightened a couple of days before, "We Are Going To That Attractive Little Cafe I Told You About," he looked at his brother and Oak was very grateful he didn't mention you. He didn't need the teasing or interrogation from anyone.
"THE ONE DOWNTOWN?" Blue asked.
"yup. want anything?"
Stretch answered from the couch before his brother could, "honey-buns please."
Oak looked at him, his sockets were closed and he looked absolutely exhausted.
Poplar said, "Are You Alright?" The concern in his voice was obvious and Stretch perked up a bit to sooth Poplar's nerves.
"yeah, I'm alright. was just up a little late working on a project."
"Ah." Poplar muttered, glancing at his watch before looking at his brother. "Well! We Can Pick Up Those Honey-buns, But We Will Be Heading Out Now. Have A Nice Day, You Two!"
"YOU TOO, POPLAR! SEE YOU BOTH LATER." Blue saw them leave with a wave, Stretch thanking them and doing the same.
Before they left Poplar quickly grabbed his cane, which was a sophisticated maroon color that matched his brother's magic. He wanted to be careful, getting tired and not having his cane would be very painful. He knew his brother would not hesitate to shortcut to their home to get it for him, but he didn't want him straining himself. Short-cutting had only just gotten easier for him since. Well. Since the accident. He also made sure to quietly grab the small bouquet of purple hydrangeas that he had grabbed from work the night before. After all, there was no second chance to make a first impression.
When they got outside Oak grabbed his brother's hand and they both closed their sockets. When the air shifted they could smell bread and coffee, they both opened their eyes and saw the cafe in front of them. It really was an attractive little place.
"Okay! Are You Ready, Brother?"
Oak looked at his brother, who looked so hopeful and felt a short moment of anxiety. He realized all at once that his brother's injuries were much more difficult to hide than his were. He really had only just met you. And he trusted you enough to meet his brother, the only thing he really cared about in this entire universe.
But he tried his best to shake that off. No, he didn't know you. But he trusted his gut. He was a good judge of character. After all, He was a judge.
He nodded at his brother finally, who nodded back at him and they stepped into the cafe, Poplar ducking slightly so as to not hit his head in the doorway.
They didn't see you at first, but you absolutely saw them. It was hard to miss the eight foot skeleton ducking through the doorway.
You stood up and waved to them from your booth, and you were glad you picked a booth now. You didn't want Oak or his brother to have to squeeze into one of those tiny seats in the front. You had a smile on your face, you had thought Oak was tall. His brother dwarfed him.
They spotted you and quickly walked over, though it only took Poplar a couple of steps to do so. He was suddenly very thankful that this cafe had such high ceilings, it would have been an awkward walk over while crouching.
You stuck your hand out to Oak's brother and introduced yourself, "It's so nice to meet you!"
He grabbed your hand excitedly, "Yes And You As Well! I Am Poplar," he had a soft voice that you found absolutely lovely, and another tree name too! In his other hand he held a gorgeous hydrangea bouquet and he handed it to you, "For You, Dear." He had a sweet look of hope on his face and you blushed deeply at the pet name.
"Thank you!" You gasped, "These are gorgeous."
He waved you on with a deep smile, a rust red blush lighting his cheek bones.
You chuckled a little, turning to Oak, "It's great to see you again," You opened your arms up a little for a hug and you watched while his face changed from surprise to delight and his face was painted a soft maroon blush. He pulled you in, crouching a little to give you a proper hug.
His hands rested at your shoulders in a friendly embrace and your eyes widened when you realized that you wanted to stay in his arms a little longer than you did. You pulled away and found yourself missing the warmth that was there. He was surprisingly soft for a skeleton, and his arms felt solid.
Though you shouldn't be surprised, you reminded yourself. You saw his arms yesterday, and his bones were much thicker than a human's. Skeleton monster anatomy wasn't identical to a human skeleton, that much was for certain. Oak was much more 'big boned' than his brother, who was thinner and much taller.
Oak was wearing the same beanie you had seen him in before, except now he didn't have his gardening pants, he had on some worn jeans that fit him surprisingly well considering how tall he was.
His brother had glasses similar to yours in shape, but they were much thicker. And his eyelights! They were beautiful, and a little fuzzy. They reminded you of Oak's yesterday when he asked you to this place. His brother wore a large sweater paired with a black overcoat and a smart pair of slacks. He also used a cane, and it was a deep red, almost burgundy color.
They were a very dynamic pair, the two of them. And already you could feel the stares of some of the human cafe goers, however you paid them no mind as you sat down.
~
Oak looked at his brother, who immediately understood the predicament. Where were they going to sit? On one hand, they both would love to sit next to you, and on the other if they sat across from you they would have a much better view.
A true crisis.
However they quickly decided to sit across from you, so as to not make you uncomfortable. Oak already got a hug from you, and with the table against the wall he knew that he would probably squish you a little if he sat next to you, anyway.
"it's good to see you too, shortcake."
"Shortcake?" Poplar looked at his brother from across you, and you saw Oak's grin get wider.
"yeah, bro. shortcake."
Poplar looked from you to Oak, a short look of confusion on his face before he whispered to his brother with a dramatic gasp, "Brother! Are You Commenting On Your Date's Height?"
Oak chuckled, "of course not, bro. i would never stoop so low."
Poplar gasped again. "Brother!"
You put a hand over your mouth to smother your laughter at least a little. But Poplar just looked so genuinely offended, you couldn't help the giggles that did escape. Your eyes were bright and you said, "Aw Poplar, it's okay. You don't have to be so down about it."
Poplar mouth hung open and Oak looked at you with bright eye lights and a goofy grin. You swore for just a second Oak's swollen eyelight turned into a heart, but you blinked and it was gone.
"Please, Not You Too. I Don't Think I'll Be Able To Stomach This Date If You Do."
Oak looked at his brother, his face suddenly serious and said, "but bro. you don't have a stomach."
You watched Poplar facepalm and both yours and Oak's giggles grew. You looked between the two of them and felt your face warm. You hadn't had this much fun at the cafe in ages. You met Oak's eyelights and you could tell he was thinking the same thing.
"so," Oak started, his quiet chuckles finally stopping, much to his brother's relief, "how've you been, doe?"
Your eyebrow rose, "Doe? That one's new."
"yeah you got these big doe eyes. figured it fits."
"Oh She Does Have Large Eyes, Doesn't She?" Poplar joined in, suddenly looking very interested in your eyes."
Their stares had you blushing a little and you laughed, "I've been good, Oak. It's getting cold out there though, I'm finally getting around to getting all my garden stuff into my greenhouse and into my pantry."
His eye lights widened, "you garden?"
You nodded, "Yeah, I've got some veggies and a couple of herb planters too, but I usually keep those inside." You held your finger up, remembering, "except my lavender, I keep that outside 'cause of my cat."
If it was possible, Oak's smile got brighter and Poplar glanced at him, his quiet laugh escaping him. "Goodness, Brother You Look Like A Kid In A Candy Shop."
Poplar turned to you, "He Has A Garden At Home Too, Though I'm Sure He Hasn't Told You About It."
"Really? I'd love to come see it! Here," You pulled out your phone, "I have some pictures of mine. And I can show you some pictures of Stella too."
You grinned while the brothers looked at your garden. There was impressiveness in Poplar's gaze, and he even made a few 'oohs' and 'ahhs'.
Oak looked downright adoring. Before you thought you had imagined it, but you saw that his eyelight was definitely shaped like a heart looking through the pictures.
You described where and why you kept all of your plants, telling them about the sunflowers in your front yard, as well as all of the bird feeders that fed your crows so they would stay away from your actual crops.
"And if you have strawberries you can paint some rocks red and just keep them around the berry bushes, because crows don't like hard fruits so they'll learn that the strawberries there aren't good."
Oak nodded, and looked at his brother, "we didn't plant any berries this year, did we?"
Poplar shook his head, "We Did Not," He turned to you, "We Tried To Plant Them Last Year But We Planted Them In The Spring."
You nodded in understanding, "Yeah, did that my first year too. Ended up drying out no matter how often I watered them. I ended up moving them to my greenhouse this year and they actually did a lot better than I expected them to." You offered, "If you guys like you could come over to my place after this, I can send some home with you."
You watched as they both were taken aback, and confused you said, "You don't have to, of course! Don't feel pressured just because I offered."
Poplar looked at his brother, who looked back at him and they softly smiled. Poplar said, "No! Please, We Are Not Offended In The Slightest. Where We Are From Offering Food To Someone Is A Large Show Of Trust."
Oak nodded, his face lit in that burgundy glow, "we were just... surprised."
Your eyes widened in understanding and you nodded back to them, "I didn't know that at all, is that a tradition for all monsters?"
Poplar shook his head, his brother letting him take the lead, "No, My Brother And I Were Rather Isolated In the Underground, And Only Those Who Were Close By Carry That Culture. It Is More Of A Provincial Tradition."
You smiled, "Well the offer still stands if you'd like to take it. I have way too much to preserve, I was planning on trying to sell some at the market, anyway."
Poplar sat back in the booth, relaxing his back into the soft seat. He watched your face, he saw complete trust. It was a little foolish, he realized. To let these two monsters into your home after just meeting them. But he did not take you for a foolish person. Perhaps a little too trusting. But you were very intelligent, he could tell.
Oak had a soft smile plastered on his face, and he didn't remember the last time he had smiled so much. From your cheesy jokes to the way you were so trusting of him and his brother, he found you absolutely adorable. And you gardened too, you even offered him something from that garden. Something that you had raised from the ground.
You pulled out your phone, saying that you completely forgot to show them pictures of your cat, "Her name's Stella!"
Your phone showed an elegant black cat with one patch of white fur on her face. Poplar cooed at the screen, letting out a soft 'aw'. Oak melted at the sight, she looked absolutely adorable. "stella. like stella maris."
You looked at Oak, "Stella Maris?"
"the constellation." Oak surprised himself. It had been a while since his memory was good enough that he could remember a constellation so easily. His brother looked at him, and his face was proud but just as surprised as his.
"Brother, Have You Been Studying Constellations Again?" Poplar asked, his brow bone raised a little.
"no." Oak answered honestly, he hadn't been. He was afraid that he wouldn't be able to remember any of the constellations he studied, and didn't want to be disappointed when he didn't.
"I've always loved the stars," You said. You had a dreamy look on your face, which peered out the window of the cafe. "On the mountain is the best view. You don't even need a telescope to see all the stars up there."
Oak said, "you've been up the mountain?"
"I live on the mountain. On the west side."
Poplar's eyesockets widened, "Do You Really? We Live On The Mountain!"
"Really?" You looked at them, "I didn't know anyone else lived up there! I figured after the opening monsters would want to get as far away from that place as they could."
Oak was stunned, she had been this close the whole time? They lived on the west side too, though he was sure they were a little further up the mountain than she was, since they had never seen her. Or even traces that another person lived so close.
"yeah. a lot of monsters did. but we have a pretty big family." Oak looked at his brother, who understood what he was doing.
"Yes! We Live With Our Cousins, And The Homes In Town Are Not Nearly Big Enough To House All Ten Of Us."
You whistled, "Good god. That is a lot of people in one house."
Oak chuckled, "yeah. it definitely is."
This was not good, Oak realized. Sans had moved onto the mountain for the seclusion, just in case the machine got out of hand. Just in case something happened, he didn't want to be the cause of mass panic. And then something did happen, they all arrived and they were just thankful that Sans had built such a large house up there. But you were there, probably the whole time.
Sans was not going to like that.
You thought about Blue and Black. They were skeleton monsters too. Maybe they were their cousins! But... is that racist? How common are skeleton monsters? Just because they're skeleton monsters doesn't mean that they are related. You decided to just leave it be, not wanted to risk being offensive to your new friends.
"Wow. Well I guess that makes it a lot easier for you both to come over, doesn't it?"
Poplar and Oak chuckled softly, Poplar letting out a soft 'Nyeh Heh Heh' that made you smile. You all decided to finally get something from the shop, Oak getting an Americano, Poplar and you getting lattes and some small cakes for the table.
You all talked among yourselves for a bit, and you learned that Poplar actually worked as a florist at a flower shop downtown, one that you had seen on your commute to work before. You promised to send him home with some flowers from your garden since he had been so sweet to bring you some.
"That Would Be Lovely, Dear." His eyelights were a fuzzy white that had you fawning, and you looked at Oak who had a similar dreamy look about him. You all had finished your coffee and cakes some time ago, but you really didn't want this date to end.
It seemed that they felt the same, because they stayed in their seats, all of you looking at each other. After a little you smiled, "Do you guys want to come over for dinner? We can make something together, or I could just make it and we could watch a movie." You looked at the time, "It's still really early, we can just make this an all-day kinda date."
Poplar looked at his brother with a soft smile and a hopeful look in his eye that Oak hadn’t seen in a while, "What Do You Think?"
Oak grinned, "sounds like a date."
The monster is back
Summary: You plan to kidnapp Tyler from prison, but it will not be easy as it is a maximum security prison. But something happened that changed your plans.
You stand thoughtfully on the balcony. How can you free Tyler from prison? However, it will be very difficult. Then you break into a maximum security prison. And breaking in is one thing, but you also have to get out with Tyler. "What are you thinking about?" Ajax asked, standing next to you. "Shouldn't you be with Enid?" you asked grumbling. "Why do you always answer my questions with a counter-question and how do you know about Enid?". "I have my own way of getting information," you reply calmly. "Aha...you can’t trust other people, don't you?" demands Ajax hesitantly. "What makes you think that?" you asked in surprise. "Well, you're always alone. In class you hardly ever talk to Xavier and all that.' You look at Ajax. "Yes it's true. I don't trust anyone but I won't tell you why". Ajax just nodded. "All right. I'll go to Enid then. See you later," he said and left. You look up at the sky for a while and think.
It is now 5:30 p.m. You're sitting in the weathervane still thinking about how to get Tyler out of jail. Suddenly 3 police cars drive past the weathervane, you thought nothing of it at first. "Can I get you something else?" asked the waitress. "Did something happen here because of the police". "Didn't you hear that?" she asked in astonishment. You shake your head. “Tyler Galpin has been missing since last night".". "Like disappeared?!" you asked in a slightly louder voice. "He was no longer found in his cell and his handcuffs were on the floor. However, the police did not reveal why he was tied up or why he was arrested." She said uncertainly. “Thanks, I don't need anything else right now..." you said, she nodded and left. How did Tyler escape, for you there are only 2 logical theories. Either it was his father, the old sheriff or there is another unknown person who helped. You're caught out when Wednesday walks in. "Quadruple on ice," she said dryly. She took the espresso and sat right across from you. You look at each other until she starts talking. "You watched me yesterday", she said emotionlessly. she said emotionlessly. "You play very good. But let's talk later, I still have to go somewhere." you said and stand up. "You are going to Tyler?" she asked menacingly. You stopped and looked over your shoulder. "No, he's in jail, isn't he?" you asked calmly. "We both know he's not there anymore and someone freed him," she said a little louder. "I'm hearing about that for the first time." You said and walked out of the cafe very quickly so that you didn't have to hear her answer.
You went to the forest so you can think better. But then you stop abruptly. Tyler is standing in front of you about 50m away. you stare at each other His look intimidates you a bit, he has a psycho look. You slowly approach him while he doesn't move. You keep walking until you are only 1m away from him. "Who freed you, Tyler?" you asked menacingly. Tyler continued to stare at you menacingly finally he said "my father he still thinks I'm innocent" he grinned broadly. "And how did he manage that?" you asked interested. Tyler gave a short laugh. "That's none of your shit business," he finally said. You put your right hand in your pocket "and what are you going to do now?". Tyler grinned even more "first I'll kill you, then I'll take my revenge on Wednesday, enid and all nevermore" he laughed. "Some students from Nevermore are my targets too, but I'll stop you anyway," you said calmly. Tyler grabbed you by the shoulders saying "You can't stop me" and was about to transform into the Hyde. You took the chance and rammed a syringe you had in your pocket into his right arm. Tyler's eyes closed quickly and he fell unconscious. You look at his still body, "hm, I thought it was harder" you said. You take his arm and drag him away...
So i hope you like it. I know my grammar and stuff like that is very bad because English is not my main language either, but I hope you like it. And I look forward to your criticism. Have a nice day
(Y/n) and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week: Wednesday
Monday     Tuesday     Thursday (Part 1)     Thursday (Part 2)     Friday     Saturday     Sunday
Spotify Playlist (collaborative)
Warnings: panic attacks, swearing, getting outed, f slur and d slur, homophobia, puking, toxic friends
Word count: 5,160
(A/N): woah, thank you all so much for all the positive feedback, that really makes my day!
The room was quiet with the exception of the clacking of the keyboard and the soft chirping of crickets outside your open window. The stars twinkled in the sky as the night droned on and on. There was a loud rustling outside your window, but your sleep deprived mind didn’t think anything of it. It wasn’t important at the moment, the only important thing right now was finishing your work.
Throughout the night, you worked endlessly on your friend’s work. The essays were relatively easy because Adrian and Annie had luckily chosen topics that you’re somewhat interested in, so at least finding the sources was enjoyable. You had gotten your essay completely written and proofread, Annie’s outline finished, and Adrian’s sources analyzed. You would start on Sammy’s presentation after you finished Adrian’s outline. Hours upon hours passed by you as you worked, yet you didn’t notice the time once. You worked uninterrupted with no breaks. Well, one break to talk to your dad about how you weren’t hungry, but you got back to work right after he left your room. You couldn’t waste any more time than you already have.
Your eyes felt heavy as you typed on your keyboard, working on putting Adrian’s sources together cohesively so that the writing would flow seamlessly. You paused your typing to rub at your tired eyes so you could keep working, you couldn’t afford to fall asleep. You had to get these done as soon as possible if you wanted their forgiveness.
The blaring of your alarm startled you out of your focus, making you fall backwards out of your chair with a yelp. Landing painfully on your back, you laid on the floor trying to calm your racing heartbeat. You looked out your window. Hints of pinks and yellows were starting to make a gradient with the lightening dawn sky. Shit, you were so focused on getting your work done that you didn’t take account of the time. You just knew today was gonna be long. At least after school volleyball practice was shortened because of finals tomorrow.
You groaned as you pulled your tired form off from the ground. You made your way downstairs and plopped yourself down at your usual place at the table, burying your face into the crook of your arm. You felt yourself drift off into a blissful sleep, the wood of the table suddenly seemed very comfortable at the moment. Not long after, you were jolted out of your peaceful sleep by a loud crash. Jumping up and looking around with wide eyes, you saw Tubbo looking at you apologetically. There was broken glass in front of his feet on the floor.
“Sorry, (y/n).”
You just stared at him blankly as you slowly blinked. Philza didn’t spare you a glance as he whisked the short boy away from the glass. “(Y/n), can you please go get the broom and sweep this up?”
You nodded, hauling yourself to your feet and walked over to the storage closet, pulling out the broom and dust pan. You mindlessly sweeped up the glass, your limbs feeling heavy. After throwing the glass away, you rummaged in the cupboard and pulled out a mug. The bitter smell beckoned you welcomingly, working its way through your nostrils and digging itself deep into your brain. Just as you were about to pour yourself a cup, a hand snatched the coffee pot away from you.
“You shouldn’t be drinking this.”
“You let Techno and Wil drink it, so why can’t I?”
“(Y/n), you’re a full year younger than them and you haven’t eaten anything since breakfast yesterday.”
You felt your eye twitch, “I’m only a year younger than them! There’s literally no-”
“(Y/n),” his warning tone cut you off, putting the pot back into the coffee maker, “you aren’t going to drink this. That’s final. Get a glass of water.”
You huffed and pushed past him to the sink to fill your coffee mug with water. You’ve been drinking coffee for a while behind his back, so you were used to its effects on your body. You supposed that you’d just beg Wilbur to take you to the cafe so you could get your sustenance. He always relented for you.
You heard him chuckle, “you’ll thank me when you’re older.”
“Mhm.”
You plopped down next to Tubbo nursing your mug of water, trying to make small talk with him. One by one, your brothers made their way to the table. Tommy was talking and gesturing wildly to Tubbo like he normally did, Wilbur looked as dead inside as you felt, and Techno made it a point to ignore you. When someone pissed him off, he can hold a grudge better than he could hold onto his knowledge of Greek mythology, and that’s saying something. Man is obsessed with Greek mythology.
Breakfast went by in a daze with you struggling to keep your eyes open. At one point, you almost fell asleep sitting up, only to be woken up by Tubbo shaking your shoulder to get your attention. When breakfast was almost done, you had only eaten about half your breakfast.
Drifting off again, you were startled awake by the screeching of the chairs against the wooden floor and loud shouts coming from your brothers. You didn’t have the energy to race them to the bathroom like you usually did, you’d just freshen up after they were done. You tried to stand up to go to your room to get dressed, but you were stopped by a hand on your shoulder forcing you to sit back down. Looking up, you were met with the concerned, yet stern eyes of your father.
“You’re not leaving this table until you’ve eaten at least a few more bites and tell me why you’re so tired.”
“I just stayed up later than I normally do finishing up some homework, it won’t happen again.”
“It better not or else I will make you stay home next time. When’d you go to bed last night?”
You avoided his eyes, “around one thirty or two.” You couldn’t tell him that you didn’t actually go to sleep last night, he’d flip.
“You know, you’re a terrible liar.” Shit.
Looking him in the eye, you spoke more confidently. “Three in the morning.”
“(Y/n)-”
You felt a sudden rage start to twist inside you as he started to lecture you about taking better care of yourself. He was treating you like a child and you were not having it.
“-young kids like you need to- are you even listening?”
You set your jaw and willed yourself not to explode at him. “Dad, I’m not a child. I know how to take care of myself.”
You saw him narrow his eyes and purse his lips in frustration, “well, obviously you don’t if you’re not eating or sleeping well,” his eyes softened. “I’m starting to worry about you.”
“Well, you shouldn’t because I’m fine,” you snapped at him. “I’m going to get ready.”
You stalked out of the room and stomped upstairs. Passing a shocked Tommy and Tubbo, you made your way into the bathroom to get ready. The person that stared back at you in the mirror looked pale and had dark eye bags accentuating her tired eyes. She had red pimples dotting her face more than she usually did. She was ugly, revolting. The girl you remembered her being was confident in her appearance and walked with an air of importance. Now, she was a decrepit thing that was run down and scared of her own shadow. You couldn’t recognize the girl that stared back at you anymore. You should’ve been able to;  after all, she was you and you were her.
You rushed through your morning routine in the bathroom avoiding looking at yourself in the mirror. You opened the bathroom door only to be met with Wilbur’s chest, his hand poised in the air in a closed fist ready to knock on the door. He stepped back.
“We’re gonna be late if you don’t hurry up.”
You glanced at the clock on the wall. “Wil, we still have twenty minutes before school starts. We don’t have to leave for another ten minutes.”
He gave you a smirk, “well, you want coffee, don’t you? You look dead.”
“Oh thank god. I feel dead, I didn’t sleep at all last night.”
“When’d you go to bed?”
“I didn’t.”
“Christ, (y/n) I knew you were a dumbass, but not that much of a dumbass.”
You rolled your eyes, walking around him and into your room. You felt a stab of hurt in your heart. “Fuck you.”
Before you could close the door, he shouted out a cheeky “love ya too (y/n)!”
You took off all your clothes slowly and stood in front of your open closet deciding on what you should wear today. You figured that since you felt like absolute shit, you should probably put a little bit more effort into your appearance. Picking out your favorite flannel shirt and favorite pair of pants. Smiling at yourself in the mirror in your room, you felt slightly more confident in your appearance. You felt like you could walk around the hallways at school without as many peering eyes trying to figure out your every secret. But maybe that was just the sleep deprivation talking. You tend to be more impulsive and emotional when you’re sleep deprived.
You slung the backpack onto your back with less difficulty than in the previous days. Your back was healing faster than you thought it would. Now, it barely hurt and the swelling completely went away.
You went downstairs and slunk past the kitchen where Philza was talking to Tommy and Tubbo. You didn’t want them to notice you, you felt somewhat guilty for snapping at your dad. You slipped through the front door and hopped into the passenger seat next to Wilbur. You three usually rotated seats counterclockwise and took turns driving each day. Now, you were just waiting for Techno.
“Well, you look less homeless today.”
“Thanks Wilbur, I just felt like looking a little nicer than usual.”
“Who’re ya dressing up for? Is it Adrian?” He asked with slight disgust. He hated Adrian almost as much as he hated Annie and Sammy. He thought he was nothing more than a fuckboy looking to get into your pants. Little did he know you were secretly a raging lesbian so deep in the closet that you’re froliking with Aslan through the flowerfields of Narnia.
“Wilbur, I’m gay why would I-” you froze, cursing your sleep deprived self for lacking a filter. Your breath caught in your throat and you felt anxiety start to seep into your veins and pump around your body, filling every single nook and cranny with dread. You could feel tears welling in your eyes as you stared at your shaking hands horrified at yourself. How could you just… just out yourself like that? How could you be so careless? So stupid?
You barely felt it when Wilbur reached over to press a gentle hand on your arm. “(Y/n), are yo-”
“I-tha-that was a joke, I’m not gay, I’m straight.” Your words came out in frantic jumbles, desperately trying to fix your slip up. Oh god, you really fucked up this time.
“(Y/n), brea-”
“I swear I’m not gay, I like men, I do. I-”
“(Y/n), breathe with me.” Wilbur’s firm, yet gentle voice demanded. He placed your hand on his chest and took in a deep breath, held it, and released it slowly. You tried your best to follow him, but after about ten minutes, you were slowly but surely calming down. It was a lot faster calming down from a panic attack when you had someone helping you breathe. You’ve never gotten help with a panic attack before, it was nice. Becoming more aware of your surroundings, you took notice of the soft fabric of Wilbur’s sweater, the gentle thumping of his heart, and his worried expression. You also became aware of the extra hand rubbing small circles into your shoulder from behind your seat. It was Techno.
Taking in a shaky breath, you took your hand out of Wilbur’s grip and clasped your hands tightly in front of you, shrugging Techno’s hand off from your shoulder.
“...Can we please leave? I don’t want Dad or Tubbo and Tommy seeing me like this.”
Wordlessly, Wilbur started up the car and pulled out of the driveway. At the intersection, he turned in the opposite direction of the school. “Wilbur, where are we going? The school’s the other way.”
“We’re going to the cafe for some coffee, my treat.”
“But school starts in five minutes, we’re gonna be late if we go to the cafe.”
“Actually,” Techno’s deep voice chimed in, “school started ten minutes ago. If we’re already late, there’s no harm in skipping first block.”
“Tech, I literally have no idea what’s going on in stats.”
“I’ll give you my notes.”
“Are you sure? I wouldn’t want to bother you.”
Wilbur pulled into the cafe’s parking lot, “don’t be stupid, (y/n). You can never bother us.”
You didn’t say anything as you left the car and headed into the cafe. You could think of plenty of ways you could bother your older brothers. You bothered everybody just by being in their presence. You just had that effect.
Your brothers followed you into the cafe, glancing at each other worriedly. You three quickly got your orders and sat in the secluded back of the cafe. Soft jazz music drifted throughout the quiet cafe.
“(Y/n), we need to talk about what happened. Was this your first panic attack?” Wilbur asked you gently.
“...No, I’ve had them before.”
“Were they always this intense? You’re still shaking.”
“That one was nowhere near as intense as the ones I usually have.’
“Usually? Do you have them often?” Tecno asked.
“Yeah, usually a couple of them a week since the middle of freshman year. Nothing I can’t manage.”
“So you’ve been doing this on your own for three years? You could’ve gotten us to help you.”
You sighed, looking down at your steaming cup. “...I couldn’t’ve. Don’t get me wrong, I know you guys could help me, but I-I just couldn’t. No one was supposed to find out.”
“Promise us that you’ll come to one of us when you have an attack. We care about you, (y/n).”
“I… I’ll think about it. Thank you.”
The table fell into a comfortable silence as you all sipped at your drinks, the comforting taste of the bitter coffee dancing across your tongue.
“Ya know, we don’t care that you’re gay. A lesbian called me ‘actually pretty funny’ once and I’m still riding the high.”
“Yeah, you’re still you. Nothing changes the fact that you’re our little sister.”
You smiled as you felt warm inside. You knew your brothers loved you, but you didn’t know that they loved you for being you. You didn’t think anybody loved you unconditionally like that, and that made you feel genuinely happy.
“Thank you guys, for everything. I-I can’t put into words how much that means to me, I love you guys so much!”
“We love you too,” Wilbur smiled before he dropped it into a stern frown. “But if any girl hurts you, we’ll have a stern talking to her.”
“Yeah, we can’t beat up girls. We’ll put her in her place alright.” You snorted into your coffee, almost spilling it on yourself. Quickly setting it down before you could baptize yourself with the scalding liquid (though, you did consider coffee to be holy), you wiped at your teary eyes.
“And that’s why I love you guys.”
“We’re serious, she’ll be wishing she got beat up after we’re done scolding her.” Wilbur said seriously before he broke into a grin and started laughing.
The conversation carried on about your sexuality, how you found out, when you found out, if you’ve told anyone yet (they were honored that they were the first people you’ve told, even if you did it accidentally mid-panic attack). Eventually you had to go back to the school before your second block started. You three split ways to your separate classrooms.
Annie and Adrian were locked onto you as soon as you walked through the door. They looked angry at you. What’d you do this time to piss them off?
“Where the fuck were you this morning? We were looking everywhere for you,” Annie seethed.
“Yeah, you wasted so much of our time looking for your sorry ass. You ditch us again?”
Oh, that. “Look, I didn’t mean to skip out on you guys again. It was a rough morning.”
“That’s funny because we also had rough mornings, yet we still hung out with each other. You aren’t special.” Adrian rolled his eyes at you.
“It’s gonna take more to apologize. We don’t let things like the little stunts you pull go off scott free.”
“Oh, Annie I have the best idea,” Adrian squealed, bouncing on the balls of his feet excitedly.
“What is it Dri?” Annie’s eyes shone.
“Our little (y/n) can set you up with one of her brothers and she can go on a date with me on a double date! It’s foolproof, not even someone as dumb as (y/n) could fuck it up.”
“I don’t think that’s a good id-”
“It’s perfect Dri! Can it be with Wilbur? He’s literally so hot! Oh, the way his fingers can work that guitar…” Ew. The thought of Wilbur and Annie together made you scrunch up your nose with disgust.
“I’m sorry, but Wilbur’s actually dating Sally Fishmin right now. They’re actually really cute together-”
“God, how could someone as hot as Wilbur go for Sally Fishmin? She’s disgusting, always smells like fish,” Annie gagged, then gasped. “Wait (y/n) do you actually think that she’s more deserving to be with him than I am?”
“No, I nev-”
“Really? Cuz you just did. Glad to see you care about me, (y/n).”
“Annie, you’re literally so beautiful. I never said that you don’t deserve him. You deserve the world. I can’t split them up, but I can do more homework for you.” She perked up immediately, “awe, thanks love! That’s what happens when you actually put effort into how you look.”
“Speaking of, did you get that shirt out of the trash? It’s really not a look.” Adrian snickered to himself. There goes what little confidence you had. You actually thought you looked decent today. You felt grateful for your friends, they always told you the truth about how you looked when everybody else lied to you.
Before you could respond, the bell rang and everybody took their seats. Luckily, Mr. Todd assigned today as a work day for your final research essays. You had finished Annie’s and got Adrian’s thesis done before the bell rang. While you were working on their essays, they were mindlessly scrolling on their phones and texting someone.
You, Adrian, and Annie met up with Sammy and went into the lunch room. You tried to line up in the lunch line with them, but they laughed and told you that you’re fat enough and you needed to lose weight. What did you do to deserve such considerate friends? You really owed them one for always looking out for and putting up with you.
While you were waiting for them, you pulled out your phone. To your surprise, Haley texted you a screenshot of her conversation with Unknown. You felt a chill run down your spine. All four pictures were of you. You rubbing your eyes as the light of your computer provided the only light in the room. Your bare back facing the camera as you stood in front of your closet this morning. You sleeping a day ago (you felt sick as you realized that whoever took the picture was standing directly over your bed). Lastly, you and Haley holding each other’s hand under the moonlight last night. Attached to the pictures, Unknown had typed “you have one more day or else sleeping ugly gets it. Do not tempt us.”
Hales : )
(Y/n), how the hell did they get these pictures of you
Did you seriously leave your window open???
Why wouldn’t you close your curtains
Oh god, do you think they saw us in your driveway????
(Y/n)
Haley calm down
Hales : )
I know you’re not telling me to calm down right now
You have a stalker
One that can GET INSIDE YOUR ROOM
(Y/n)
We’ll get to the bottom of this
Like I said, I don’t care if my pictures get leaked
I care about your pictures
Until we figure out who’s doing this, we need to lay low
Hales : )
Hanging out last night was a mistake
I shouldn’t have gave you a ride
I shouldn’t have tried to kiss you
I’m straight
And you are too
You said it yourself
We can’t talk anymore (y/n)
(Y/n)
I’m not straight Hales
I’m gay
And I like you
Like
Like you like you
Hales : )
I’m sorry (y/n)
But I’m straight
We can’t talk anymore
Goodbye.
With each text she sent you, you felt your heart drop deeper and deeper into your stomach until you felt your heart shatter in your chest, the pieces lodging themselves deep within you and ripping you open from inside out. How could you be so stupid to think that soemone as perfect as Haley Andrews, arguably the prettiest girl in the senior year, go out with (y/n) Minecraft, a known trainwreck. Annie’s shrill gasp sounded right next to your ear, making you gasp and drop your phone onto the table with a loud bang.
“OH MY GOD (Y/N) YOU’RE A FAGGOT? WERE YOU HITTING ON ME EARLIER? YOU FUCKING PERVERT.”
The entire cafeteria fell into silence as they listened to Annie’s shrieking. Whispers started to meld together.
“(Y/n)’s gay?”
“How gross”
“Damn, I was gonna hit it”
“We have a dyke going to this school?”
You felt like you were suffocating as the whispers and Annie’s yelling jumbled together in a disorienting cacophony. Adrian and Sammy both glared at you from behind Annie with a hatred that you didn’t know they had for you. You tried stuttering an apology, but you were quickly shut up by Annie harshly slapping you across the face.
“I don’t wanna hear it, fag. You’re going to finish our essays and you’re never gonna talk to us again. Do you understand me?” When you didn’t respond, she slapped you again. “I asked you, do you understand me?”
You frantically nodded your head, grabbed your backpack, and sprinted out the door without any real destination in mind. You sprinted before you found the bathroom that nobody used. Ducking into a stall and slamming the door, you felt yourself start to hyperventilate. You couldn’t feel anything except for the tightness of your chest. You couldn’t see anything. You couldn’t hear anything. You faintly tasted bile rising up in your throat as you bent over to empty your stomach. You threw up everything in your stomach until you were left sitting on the dirty floor painfully dry heaving.
You sobbed on that floor for what felt like hours. Everybody knows your secret now. Your dirty, dirty secret. God, you were a pervert weren’t you? You made people around you comfortable by just being you. Faintly, you felt your phone start to buzz in your pocket, your shaky hands scrambling to fish it out. They were all texts from your brothers.
Wilby
(Y/n) I heard what happened
Are you okay????
Please answer me
Where are you
Technology Sword
I’m gonna kill them
I swear to god they’re dead
Blood for the blood god
(Y/n)
Pls dont do anything or hurt anyone
I’m fine
I’ll see you two after practice
Wilby
Tell us where you are
(Y/n)
I’m fine
I’ll see you two after practice
You silenced your phone and put it back into your pocket, once again feeling yourself start to dry heave again. Your sobs and gags echoed throughout the bathroom. This is by far the worst panic attack you’ve had yet, and it doesn’t seem like it’s gonna stop anytime soon. You heard the final bell ring and students start to rush to their lockers to get home, so you tried to muffle your shaking sobs the best you could. You had at least an hour before you had to go to volleyball practice. Until then, you would stay in the bathroom trying to ground yourself.
Luckily, you managed to calm down to the point where you stopped crying and dry heaving. You were only shaking slightly. You felt numb and completely drained from your panic attack, practice today was going to be a struggle. You cautiously walked through the empty hallways jumping at every little noise. When you finally reached the locker room, you made a beeline past Zara and Jazzy to your locker. You pulled out your uniform and changed in one of the bathroom stalls.
Practice went by with the girls on the team giving you sympathetic looks and Haley ignoring you. Not that you noticed, you were ignoring everyone and putting all of your focus on the ball. The entire practice, you felt light headed and drained. Fortunately, practice ended right as you felt like you were going to pass out.
You changed as fast as you could and pulled out your phone.
Dadza
Come outside, I’m here to pick you up
You felt a dread pool in your stomach as you stared at the text. Did he find out? Was he going to kick you out for being gay? Wilbur and Techno wouldn’t let him do that to you, right? Reluctantly, you left the sanctuary of the bathroom stall and rushed out of the locker room and out of the school. Sure enough, your dad’s car was parked in the parking lot. You glanced over to where Haley’s car was parked last night and saw glimpses of you and her chasing each other and laughing into the night sky without a care in the world before you ripped your gaze away to stare at your walking feet.
You reached your dad’s car and sat in the passenger seat. Your dad grinned at you. “Hey hun, how was practice?”
You merely shrugged your shoulders at him. You didn’t have the energy to talk to anyone at the moment. You felt extremely drained.
“What’s wrong, did something happen? You can talk to me.”
“...I’m just sad that the season’s over tomorrow.”
“Don’t be sad kid,” a gruff voice coming from behind you made you jump. “That’s pussy shit.”
You yelped and whipped your head around to look at whoever said that. Your uncle’s cocky grin greeted you. You felt yourself grin back at him.
“Uncle Schlatt!”
“The one and only.”
“How was your business trip? You’re home early.”
He rolled his eyes, “boring as hell. I’m so fucking glad I got out early, I woulda blew my brains out if I had to stay there any longer.”
“Schlatt!” Philza reprimanded him, glancing at him through the rearview mirror.
“What? I’m just telling the truth. I woulda!” He defended himself.
Your dad gripped the steering wheel. “You didn’t have to say it in front of (y/n).”
Schlatt scoffed, “please, she’s heard me say worse.”
As they bickered, you felt yourself zone out as you looked out the window. Houses and street signs passed by in a blur as the car moved down the road and pulled into your driveway. You got out as quickly as you could and made your way into the house alongside your uncle and dad. As soon as your uncle walked through the door, Tubbo barrelled into him and pulled him into a tight hug. Schlatt laughed loudly and bent over to pick him up into a hug. You smiled at the father and son as Philza gestured for you to follow him into the kitchen. He opened the oven to check on something cooking inside of it and turned to face you, leaning against the counter.
“So what’s really wrong?”
“I already told you, I’m sad the season’s almost over.”
“It’s something more than that,” as you opened your mouth he quickly added, “and you can’t say that it’s because you’re tired. I wasn’t born yesterday.”
You sighed and mimicked his actions. “...It’s just been a long day. I really don’t wanna talk about it.”
Without warning, he pulled you into a warm hug, your face being shoved into his shoulder and him rubbing circles into your back. “That’s okay, just talk to me when you’re ready. I won’t push you.”
That broke you. Throwing your arms around him, you started to sob into his shoulder. He started to rock you back and forth whispering reassurances into your ear.
“That’s good, let it all out.”
“I love you so much.”
“I’m here for you.”
With each sentence to fall out of his mouth, you felt more at ease and safe. Your dad always did a great job at making people feel safe, that was just his natural talent. After a while, you pulled away from him.
“Do you feel better?”
You smiled tiredly at him, “Yeah, I really needed a hug.”
He turned around to check on dinner, “I bet, you look like you’ve been to hell and back. You don’t have to tell me what happened, but just know that I’m always here for you and I love you.”
The rest of the family flooded the kitchen after a while of you two talking. Dinner went by with Schlatt laughing loudly and telling stories about the people he met on his business trip. Every now and then, Wilbur and Techno would glance at you, but you ignored them. You just wanted dinner to end so you could pass out in your bed. Once dinner was over, you helped your dad gather everybody’s plate and put them into the sink. The rest of your little family went to the living room to start a game of Monopoly. The last time you all played that ended in fresh bruises and shed tears.
“I think I’m gonna go to bed, I have to get some rest for finals tomorrow.”
“But (y/n), it’s Monopoly! You love Monopoly,” Tommy exclaimed.
“That’s alright, you look dead on your feet kid. Go get some sleep.”
“Thanks Uncle Schlatt. Goodnight everyone, love ya.”
A flurry of goodnights and love you’s follow you as you leave the room and drug yourself up the stairs. Without a second thought, you closed your curtains and plopped face first onto your bed. You passed out without even making sure you were fully on your bed.
Bad idea / part 2
Tumblr media
warnings: angst, slut shaming
pairing: Ellie Williams x reader
-
The obnoxious sound of your alarm clock pulled you out of your deep sleep, startling you as the ringing echoed through the whole room, opening your eyes, you closed them right away when you realized how light the room was.
Groaning in annoyance, you reached over to the nightstand, turning off the alarm, knocking off a water bottle in the process.
“shit..” you mumbled, as you regretted drinking so much the night before.
You were about to sit up when you heard a quiet mumble coming from next to you, along with the sound of rustling from the bed sheets.
Opening your eyes, you liked to your right, to find someone sitting up.
More specifically, Ellie sitting up.
‘oh my god.’
You closed your eyes again, cursing at yourself, you forgot that you brought her back home last night.
You could remember it only vividly but enough to know what the two of you did last night.
Even if you didn't remember, the lack of clothes under your blanket would be enough for you to realize what happened last night.
‘this is so awkward.’
Sitting up, you hold the blanket tightly to your chest as you watch her put her clothes on, hastily.
“morning.” you mumbled, cringing at the way your voice sounds in the morning.
“morning.” Ellie muttered, not even looking at you as she bend down to put her shoes on, mumbling something under hear breath.
“umm, do you wanna talk about what happened?” you asked her, looking up at her, noting her disheveled hair.
Her eyes snapped to you, looking at you with a cold stare, unlike the night before she gave you a very uncomfortable feeling.
“what's there to talk about?” she exclaimed “we fucked that's it.” she snapped at you before she grabbed her jacket.
‘ouch.’
It hurt you more than you wanted to admit, you thought she was interested in you.
You just met yesterday but still, she didn't show any signs of only wanting to have sex with you and then leave it at that, she was being nice, warm and welcoming.
You didn't plan on having sex with her but it just happened, you were drunk and you were attracted to her and you thought she was attracted to you too.
So that what it was to her, just a one night stand and now she was being rude about it too?
‘what a bitch.’
“so uh- that’s what you do?” you asked her, you were hurt but you were also getting angry at the way she glared at you.
“what?”
“act nice and interested?” you asked, tilting your head at her. “that's what you have to do to get someone to fuck you?”
She scoffed “I fucked you, not the other way around, now if you’ll excuse me I have more important things to do then talk to you.” she muttered, leaving but not before she sent one more glare your way.
Shaking your head, you scoffed at her behaviour.
How could someone be so nice and cool and then act like a complete bitch the next day?
You decided not to spend any more time thinking about her, she wasn't worth it.
Instead you got up and went into the bathroom to take a shower before your first shift for patrol.
-
Ellie left your house, closing the door, she leaned against it and closed her eyes, taking a deep breath.
‘fuck me.’
She was so mad at herself for sleeping with you, not because she regretted it but because of Jesse.
She had the impression that he has a crush on you, after everything that happened with Dina, she wished that he would find someone he was interested in enough to want to date them.
She has seen the way he looked at you back at the cafe and at the bonfire and she just went ahead and slept with the girl he probably liked.
Of course her and her best friend would end up liking the same girl, what a joke.
Pushing herself off the door, she started walking away, only to run into Jesse who seemed to be on his way towards your house.
Her eyes widened, panic settled in her chest.
“good morning, what are you doing outside so early?” Jesse asked, smiling at her as he stopped in front of her.
“h-hey.. I- uh just went to get some fresh air.” Ellie stuttered out, scratching the back of her neck.
He looked her up and down, raising his brows at her “in the same clothes as yesterday?” he chuckled.
She gulped nervously “yeah.”
“okay, well I gotta pick up y/n, it’s her first patrol day today.” he explained.
Of course he gets to spend time with you, she couldn't help but feel jealous, she told herself that she would step aside so he could be with you but it still angered her.
Ellie nodded, glad that Jesse didn't seem to pick up on her behavior or where she was coming from.
“have fun.” Ellie mumbled, bitter about this whole situation.
“you too.” Jesse said, before he walked away from her.
Ellie cursed at herself, hating herself for being so bitter and jealous about this whole thing.
-
“I know you wouldn't have to be a part of the patrol teams, you’ve been out there for so long, I know you can handle yourself.” Jesse said, walking next to you with his rifle in his hands as you came back from patrol.
You nodded, not really paying attention about what he was saying.
Ellie has been on your mind all morning, you didn't understand her, everything was fine the day before and now she turned into a completely different person.
“hey- are you listening?” Jesse asked, pulling you out of your thoughts as he stopped walking and turned around to look at you.
“oh uh sorry- I was.. I was thinking about something.” you muttered, looking at him, feeling bad for not listening to what he was saying.
“that’s fine.” he chuckled, eyeing you “you’re tired huh? had a long night?” he asked.
Blushing, you looked down, did he know? You really hoped he didn't, you wouldn't want to discuss your night with Ellie with him, especially after she was being so rude about it.
“uh I just couldn't sleep, that's all.” you mumbled before you kept on walking.
“you and Ellie had a lot of fun last night haven't you?” he asked, making you halt in your tracks.
“what?” you asked, your eyes widened, so he did know.
“at the bonfire.” he explained, furrowing his brows as he looked at you, trying to figure out why you looked so shocked “I saw you guys, laughing and joking around the whole night.”
“oh..” laughing nervously, you nodded “yeah.. she was nice.” you mumbled.
“I knew you guys would get along.” he said, smiling at you.
Nodding, you thought so too until she was being an asshole this morning.
“do you wanna get some coffee?” he asked.
‘where Ellie is? no thanks.’
“umm, I'm kinda tired, so I’m gonna head home.” you told him.
“alright, well, do you umm- do you wanna hang out sometime?” he asked, nervously.
“yeah, sure.” you shrugged, smiling at him.
“we can watch a movie or something.” he offered, looking at you with a smile on his face.
“yeah, how about tonight?” you asked.
“yes sure, tonight.” he smiled “tonight is perfect.” he grinned at you.
“okay.” you chuckled before you turned around, making your way back home.
-
You tried to think of something else but you couldn't help but let your thoughts drift off to Ellie, you wanted to talk to her, ask her if you did anything wrong or said something that upset her that night but you knew your stubbornness would prevent you from going up to her and talk to her, after the attitude she gave you that morning you couldn't just go talk to her as if nothing happened.
She obviously regretted sleeping with you, you didn't know why but she did.
There was just one thing you didn't understand.
She was the one who made the first move.
She was the one who kissed you first.
So what was her problem?
You thought you might forget about this whole thing but two weeks went by and the girl was still on your mind.
You haven't seen her around Jackson much, just like before you met her.
You knew she was at the cafe all day, while you were finally clear to go on patrol without being watched like a hawk.
The only person you constantly saw was Jesse, you knew he would be a good friend and it seemed like you were getting closer too but you couldn't help but think about her even if you only spent a day and one night together, she wouldn't leave your thoughts.
Today was especially tough, you almost got jumped by a clicker because your thoughts drifted off to Ellie again, if it wasn't for your quick reaction, you would've died today.
You don’t know what it was about her, you tried to convince yourself that she wasn't that special but you were only fooling yourself, you knew she was special the moment you walked into that cafe and made eye contact with her.
You couldn't forget the way she made you feel. At the bonfire she made you feel safe and calm, like nothing could hurt you. She was able to make you forget all your worries, even for just a short time but no one has ever made you feel so carefree like she did that night.
She gave you a taste of what it could be like if you were to have a chance with her and then she took it away again, just like that.
-
Knocking back your fourth drink of the night, you motioned for the bartender to poor you another.
After the past two weeks, you thought you deserved to treat yourself to some drinks, you were tense and frustrated and you wanted to loosen up, so you thought the bar was the perfect place for that.
“I think you should take it easy.” Jesse said, as he took a seat next to you.
“hello to you too.” you chuckled, as the bartender placed your drink in front of you.
“seriously, you have patrol tomorrow morning.” he said, frowning at you.
“ah, come on, I'll be fine.” you said, waving him off as you looked around the room before you looked back at him “you should drink something with me.”
He chuckled, thinking about your offer for a few seconds before he gave in, ordering himself a drink as well.
“so.. what happened with you and Ellie?” he asked, looking at you in curiosity.
“what do you mean?” you asked, acting like you didn't know what he was talking about.
“come on y/n, don’t play stupid with me.” he said, giving you an annoyed look, he has been trying to find out what happened between you two for more than a week now.
Sighing, you rolled your eyes before you explained to him how rude she was to you after the bonfire night but leaving out what happened at your house. You knew Ellie regretted having sex with you so you knew she would feel uncomfortable if anyone found out what happened between the two of you.
“so, she just turned into an asshole?” he asked, furrowing his brows in confusion.
“basically.” you shrugged.
“that doesn't make any sense.” Jesse trailed off “you seemed to get along so well.”
You shrugged, you didn't understand either, taking a sip of your drink, you decided to change the subject, you wanted to forget about her not talk and make yourself think even more about her.
“hey, can I ask you something?” you asked.
“sure.”
“what happened with you and that girl?”
“Dina?” he asked.
Nodding, you watched as his expression turned into a sad one.
“we were on and off all the time and then she found someone else.” he shrugged as he took a sip of his beer.
“oh..” you mumbled, that must've hurt, you couldn't even imagine what it’s like to watch someone you love fall for someone else. “I'm sorry about that.”
“it’s fine, I'll get over it.” he shrugged, trying to act tough when you know he's hurting inside.
“well, let’s get drunk and forget about everything.” you offered, grinning at him.
He was about to decline your offer but then he saw Dina walking in with her new boyfriend and changed his mind “fuck it.”
“you turned around to see what had changed his mind to find the pretty girl from the bonfire hand in hand with some guy you haven't seen before but she wasn't the only one who catched your eye.
Ellie was here too, sitting at a table with Joel and Tommy, her arms were crossed over her chest and she didn't exactly look like she had a great time, turning her head she catched you staring at her.
‘shit.’
You wanted to look away but you couldn't, not when she looked this good.
You expected her to roll her eyes at you before turning away but she didn't, instead she stared right back at you.
Her expression was unreadable, there was more than one emotion written on her face.
“if I didn't know any better, I'd say you are eye fucking each other.” Jesse said, pulling out of your thoughts as your eyes widened at his words, turning around to face him you noted the smirk on his face.
“oh my- shut up.” you mumbled in embarrassment.
“don’t think I haven't caught on to what happened.” he said, still smirking.
Of course he knew what happened, he wasn't stupid, he saw you and Ellie leaving the party together and he saw her the next morning, still in the same clothes as the night before. It wasn't hard to put two and two together.
“ugh, whatever.” you mumbled “clearly she isn't interested.”
He chuckled, looking over your shoulder “are you sure about that? Because she won't stop looking your way.” he laughed.
“more like glaring, probably.” you said, rolling your eyes “can we talk about something else please?”
“yeah.” he chuckled, offering you your next drink that you gladly accepted.
-
Ellie was mad at herself and at you.
She couldn't help but stare at you all night, how could you just sit there and act like nothing happened between the two of you.
Of course you would run straight into Jesse’s arms after what happened.
She knew it was partly her fault, she avoided you but it still hurt to see you with him now.
She was angry and bitter about this whole situation.
“Ellie- you listenin’ kiddo?” Joel asked, waving his hand in front of her face snapping her out of her thoughts as she was sending glares your’s and Jesse’s way.
Hating how you were laughing at something Jesse said when you almost fell into him, trying to get off the barstool, making her feel angry at the way you were being too touchy with him.
“what?” she asked, looking back at Joel.
“I asked if you're okay.” he explained, turning around to see what she was looking at.
“yeah, I’m gonna go now.” she mumbled, getting up.
“you sure you’re okay?” Joel asked, looking at her in concern.
“I’m good, Joel.” she promised, giving him a small smile.
“alright.” he said.
“bye guys.” she muttered, giving one last look to Tommy and Joel before leaving the bar.
Stepping outside, she leaned against the wall, enjoying the fresh air and the silence of the night, watching as the snow was falling softly.
Winter in Jackson was beautiful but Ellie couldn't help but hate the coldness of it.
The door slammed open, startling her as she pushed herself off the wall to see who it was only to find you stepping out, slurring out some words as you were trying to put your jacket on almost slipping on the icy stairs if it wasn't for Ellie reacting quickly enough, catching you before you could hit the ground.
“oh- fuck..” you mumbled as you latched on to her arm trying to keep yourself steady. “I'm sorry.” you muttered when you saw who it was.
She glared at you as she let go of you, rolling her eyes at you “you’re welcome.” she muttered before turning around to leave.
You stared at her before you decided to follow her, you wouldn't let her walk away without giving you an explanation as to why she was treating you like shit.
“hey!” you called out, trying to keep up with her. “wait! Ellie!”
“what?” she exclaimed turning around suddenly causing you to almost bump in to her.
“wh-why are you being such an asshole?” you asked, staring at her, you noticed how red her cheeks were from the cold, her icy stare almost matched the cold weather “you sleep with me and then you treat me like shit?” you added.
She looked into your eyes, glaring before she looked up, taking a deep breath.
“just go home, y/n.” she mumbled, trying to stay calm. Seeing you with Jesse tonight made her feel angrier than she wanted to admit, she was jealous and talking to you while she was feeling this way wouldn't end well. She had a few drinks that night and she knew she would say something she doesn't mean and would later on regret it.
“n-no, not before you tell me what I did wrong.” you said, raising your brows at her as you waited for an explanation.
“I don’t want to talk to you right now.” Ellie grumbled before she turned around to leave again.
Scoffing, you grabbed her arm and turned her back before she could go.
“don’t touch me, y/n!” she said angrily, struggling against her anger as she looked at you.
Putting your hands up in surrender, you looked at her wide eyed, not expecting her to get angry at you like that.
You heard the door of the bar being opened, laughter filled the silent streets outside as a group of guys stepped out on the porch to smoke.
You turned your head to look at them, finding them staring at you two already, great, you had an audience now.
“just stay away from me.” she said, not even feeling bad at the way your gaze saddened at her words instead she turned even angrier when she thought back to how you were being affectioned and touchy with Jesse.
“okay but.. can you at least tell me why?”
She scoffed, already regretting her words before she even voiced them “because you’re a fucking slut.” she cursed at you.
Taken aback by her words, you stared at her as you took a step back, your furrowed expression turned into a hurt one.
You could her someone gasp in the back along with whispers.
“we fuck and then the next day you’re already running straight into Jesse’s arms, fucking him too I bet.” she scoffed. “because that’s what sluts do.”
You began to breathe heavily, your vision blurred as angry tears began to fill your eyes, anger rushed through you as she continued throwing more insults at you, you raised your hand, wanting to slap her for degrading you this way but she catched your hand by your wrist, holding it tightly, she looked at you wide eyed before fury took over once again.
“do that again I dare you.” she threatened before she dropped your hand “stay the hell away from me.” she snapped at you before turning around to leave.
You grasped your wrist with your other hand, looking after her as she left, you couldn't believe her, you couldn't believe this was the same person you met two weeks ago.
You turned to look at the guys standing on the porch, embarrassed about having someone witnessed that. You expected them to look amused but instead they gave you a pitiful look before they went back inside again.
You looked at the ground and scoffed, a tear ran down your face as you thought about her words.
Shock and hurt filled you.
Shaking your head you turned around to leave.
That’s it, you thought she might give you a chance but instead she made her hatred and disgust very clear to you.
One thing was for sure, anything you thought could happen between the two of you disappeared in the matter of a few minutes.
The Strings that Bind Us: Ch. 4
AO3
Prev
When Bruce asked Marinette to stay the night at the manor for a couple days while he went out of town for work, she was a little nervous. Sure, they’d been dating for almost four months, and yes she’d met Jason and Dick before, but this was the first time she’d be spending time with just Jason. Without Bruce there to mediate. But so far, it’d been fine. They’d gotten closer over the past two months, and Jason was actually a sweet kid. Standing in front of Gotham Academy, Marinette frowns at the sky, willing the rain to stay away. The bell rings and she shifts, nodding at the kids who waved at her, probably recognizing her from the cafe. She shifts to the balls of her feet, trying to see if she can spot Jason in the crowd of kids. Spotting him, she waves excitedly, grinning widely.
“You’re so embarrassing.” He says, walking up to her and shaking his head. But the grin on his face definitely contradicts that.
“I’m just excited to get ice cream.” She teases, nudging him gently. Even though he was only twelve (and much shorter than Dick and Bruce), they were close to the same height. Damn her Maman’s shortness. As they walk to the ice cream stand near her favorite park, Marinette listens to Jason explaining his day, frowning as she realizes: he’s being bullied.
“But it doesn’t really matter.” He adds after telling her about the boys picking on him. Her eyes narrow.
“Bruce didn’t tell you that, right?” She asks. He shakes his head. “Good, I thought I was going to have to add him to my list.”
“What list?” Jason asks, frowning.
“The list of people whose asses I have to kick.” She says, smirking at Jason’s surprised laugh.
“Mari, you can’t- you can’t just beat up my bullies.” He says, laughing.
“And why not? I’m short. I’ll say I go to public school. What’re they going to do, call my parents?” She snarks, working hard to keep a straight face. As Jason continues laughing, though, she finds it impossible to keep a straight face and instead joins him. “Seriously though, sweetheart, if these kids are bothering you, I can go up to the school. No one should be treated like that, and if you’ll let me, I’d love to give the principal a piece of my mind for letting it happen.” She adds. Jason sighs.
“They won’t listen to you. Those kids’ parents have money and shit. I’m nothing to them.” He grumbles and she stops, turning him to look at her. How could this sweet little boy, someone who meant the world to her, say that he’s nothing.
“Jason Peter Todd, you listen to me. You are not nothing. The amount of money a person has doesn’t mean a damn thing. How you treat others, what you choose to do, who you are as a person, that is what matters. That’s what makes you so much better, so much more than those little pricks at your school.” Marinette rambles, looking right into his eyes, desperately hoping he believes her. He’s silent for a minute, before he lunges forward and wraps his arms around her. Marinette sighs, wrapping the boy up in a big hug, kissing the top of his head. They stand there for a few moments before Jason pulls back, quickly wiping at his eyes.
“Yeah, uh, if you really wanna go up there I guess you can.” He says, clearing his throat. Marinette smiles, ruffling his hair.
“As long as it’s okay with you. Wouldn’t wanna embarrass you.” She says and he snorts.
“I don’t think anyone could be more embarrassing than when B signed me up for school and he was acting like Brucie.” He says and she sighs. She’d heard all about ‘Brucie’ and though he’d never acted like that around her, he definitely still acted like that in public. But without the excessive flirting with models. Finally arriving at the small ice cream cart, Marinette and Jason each get a cone before starting their walk around the park. It’d become something of a tradition when she picked him up from school. She couldn’t always do it, because of the cafe, but that just made it that much more special. They’re halfway down their favorite path when her luck runs out and the rain that had been holding off for a day and a half comes down with a fury. It wasn’t warm rain either. No, the rain was ice cold and chilled her to the bone almost immediately. Gasping, she grabs Jason’s hand and tugs him under a pavilion to try and get some shelter from the rain.
“God, I’m so sorry Jay. I didn’t realize- it looked like it was gonna rain for days.” She says mournfully, teeth chattering as she digs her phone out of her purse, praying that it’s not soaked too. Alfred would definitely come pick them up if she asked.
“It’s fine M, it’s just rain, it’s not like it’s gonna kill us.”
---
Bruce walks into the manor, frowning when he doesn’t see Marinette. He’d expected her to still be around, even though Jason was definitely at school. He sighs, guessing that she’d had to leave to deal with something at the cafe. He shuts the door, and is about to go to his study when Alfred appears.
“Ah, Master Bruce. Your turn.” He says simply and Bruce frowns.
“Sorry, what?” He asks.
“Miss Marinette, sir. I’ve tried to help her, but she is extremely stubborn. Thus, your turn.” Alfred says before walking away. Bruce frowns. What happened while he was gone?
---
“M’fine.” Jason mumbles, swatting her hand away as she tries to feel his head.
“C’mon Jay, just lemme check. If you have a fever you need more medicine.” She says, sighing in relief when he stops struggling and lets her feel his head. She hums, sitting back in the chair by his bed. “Do you need soup? Or maybe some cocoa?” She asks.
“No. Just sleep.” He mumbles. Marinette nods in understanding, singing to him quietly despite the tickle in her throat. The poor kid was sick, and she blamed herself for letting them get caught up in the rain yesterday. Just as he falls asleep and she feels her own eyes droop, the door swings open.
“Mari?” A voice says and she groans, waving whoever it is away.
“Shhhh. He’s sleeping. Gimme a minute.” She mumbles, glancing at Jason once more before standing and moving outside the room, shutting the door slightly to not wake him up.
“What happened? Why isn’t he in school?” Bruce asks, his face scrunched in concern. She frowns, knowing he’s probably going to hate her for letting his youngest son get sick.
“We went for ice cream yesterday and then to the park, but it started raining and we got soaked and now he’s sick and I’m so sorry, but I’ve been giving him medicine and making sure he’s eating and drinking water so he’ll be okay but he definitely couldn’t go to school today.” She rambles. Bruce frowns and reaches forward, putting a gentle hand on her forehead.
“Mari, love, are you sick too?” He asks worriedly. She scoffs.
“No, of course not.” She says.
“Yes she is.” Alfred says as he walks by, continuing down the hall as if he didn’t say anything. Marinette frowns, glaring after the man.
“Traitor.” She mumbles under her breath.
“Love, maybe you should take some medicine and go to bed.” Bruce suggests, but she shakes her head.
“No, Jason needs me. He’s sick.” Marinette argues. Bruce frowns.
“Have you at least taken some medicine?” He asks, and she pouts.
“It makes me sleepy. I was afraid I’d fall asleep and not know if Jason needed something.” She says, and he sighs.
“Mari, my love, you aren’t going to get better if you don’t take medicine.” Bruce says, gently wrapping his arms around her. She sighs and leans into his embrace, feeling safe and complete in his arms. Until she hears Jason start having a coughing fit. She immediately pulls away from Bruce and rushes back into the room, grabbing the glass of water off of his night table and holding it, waiting for him to stop coughing before she passes it to him.
“Careful kiddo.” She says, setting the glass back down on the night table. She sits on the edge of his bed and gently pushes his hair out of his face. He sighs, his eyes shutting again almost immediately.
“Thanks Mom.” He mumbles sleepily, and soon his soft breathing is the only sound in the room. Marinette is frozen. Mom. Mom. He’d called her mom. Was it just because he’s sick and exhausted? Or did he actually look at her as a mother figure? Was he going to be embarrassed about it when he wakes up or will he accept it? Would Bruce be okay with it? Or would he be angry at her for it? Would he-
“Marinette, honey, are you okay?” Bruce asks softly, she kisses Jason’s head before standing and burrowing herself into Bruce’s chest. Realistically, there was no reason for him to be mad at her about this. Or Jason. It was just hard to combat her thoughts sometimes. Letting out a shaky breath, she looks up at Bruce with a soft smile.
“I’m fine. I think I’ll take that medicine now.” She says, letting out a happy sigh as Bruce holds her hand and leads her out of the room.
“Besides the rain, how was your week?” He asks once they’re back in the hallway. She opens her mouth to ramble about how fun it was, until she remembers Jason’s scowl as he talked about the group of boys at school. The way he clung to her when she promised to do something about it.
“Actually, I was wondering if you’d be against talking to the Principal at Jason’s school. If I could, I’d like to go with. Some boys are picking on him and I promised him I would try to do something about it.” She explains, nearly missing the loving smile Bruce gives her.
“I’ll set up a meeting for Monday afternoon, how does that sound?” He asks and she nods.
“That should work.” She says, tilting her head in thought. “If it doesn’t work, I’m going to kick his ass.” She adds.
“Okay, love, let’s get you that medicine and get you into bed.” Bruce says with a chuckle. Mari smiles and nods, knowing he thinks she’s kidding. She’s not. No one messes with her kid and gets away with it.
> ‘i’m sorry’ was all you said before you attempted to leave only being stopped by his hand ‘midoriya let go-’
> ‘not until you tell me why, y/n we’re so happy, you were happy yesterday and now you’re saying you don’t want this anymore? what happened, you told me you loved me, was that a lie’
> you tried so so hard not to sob yelling how much you love him right there but you already started crying
> ‘y-you’re crying, why would you be crying if you don’t care about me, if you didn’t care you would’ve left minutes ago so why’
> ‘izuku i couldn’t keep putting you in fucking danger it’s driving me insane, we can’t go out to eat without worrying someone will recognise us and hunt you down, i need you to be safe and this is the only way’ you pulled your arm away from him wiping away the tears on your cheeks
> he pulled you back towards him his nose touching yours, you didn’t push him away, he took his thumb swiping it across your cheek wiping it of the fresh tears
> ‘then we’ll deal with it together, not apart’
Tumblr media
[ bakugou ]
> he knew how you felt because everytime aizawa mentioned being targeted he couldn’t help but notice you not looking at him or glancing at him as much
> you comforted him after each nightmare or any doubts he had after he got kidnapped
> whispering to him while he layed in your arms ‘bakugou you are the strongest person i know, you can’t blame yourself for anything, nobody blames you, they never have’
> you were his comfort, his teddybear
-> scenario
> the last few days you had been distant from him which didn’t make him worry much since you’re both busy sometimes and you both understood that
> but when you refused to look at him and gave him short answers after class he got worried
> ‘y/n, what the fuck is happening’ you couldn’t look him in the eyes
> you put on your best straight face and said ‘bakugou we can’t be together’
> there was silence for a couple seconds
> ‘teddy bear..’
> it hurt, it hurt so bad seeing him upset over you, you couldn’t even comfort him, so you left
> you sat with the dekusquad afraid of running into him and sobbing
> after you left he stood there for a couple seconds, he wiped away a couple tears forming as all the memories of you flashed through his head in a second, he held the necklace you got together, a promise necklace
> he sat at his normal table not talking to anyone only glancing at you, you weren’t talking to anyone either, not even touching the food in front of you
> after a couple minutes you got up and grabbed your bag after the many protests from todoroki and midoriya telling you to eat
> mina saw you getting up ‘hey bakugou is y/n okay?’ he only ignored her watching as you hurried off to what seemed to be the girls bathrooms, mina followed after you. he couldn’t lie and say he wasn’t worried
> ‘y/n?.. wait are you okay, come out of the toilets’ she watched as you slowly came out with puffy under eyes and teary eyes ‘oh my god y/n what happened’, you explained everything, how you broke up with him because of how dangerous it was being with him, how he would be safer without you
> ‘y/n i’ve never seen bakugou happier then when he’s with you, if things are meant to be with you two then things will work out, i promise’
> you both walked back to class only to see him and a couple students already there, you weren’t planning on going back to lesson saying you’re injured but you knew aizawa would’ve sent you to recovery girl only for there be nothing to recover from
> you sat in your seat trying your hardest not to cry or move or even glance at him
> he watched you every couple seconds, eyes softening when he noticed a tear drop from your eyes watching as you quickly wiped them away sitting up straight
> he knew you love him but he doesn’t know why you left him
> a couple days past and he couldn’t help but notice how puffy your eyes looked
> he missed you, a lot and his nightmares had increased in the last 3 days
> you did everything to avoid him
> but finally you had to talk to eachother because aizawa paired you up, you asked aizawa if you could swap ‘y/n you and bakugou are great training partners, plus he doesn’t hurt you enough to send you to recovery girl like he does others’
> you sighed walking to your designated training area
> you didn’t want to hurt him more than you have emotionally this past week so you barely tried
> ‘you’re not trying’ he states, you looked up at him regretting it instantly seeing his eyebags and crimson eyes, not twinkling as they usually do
> ‘sorry’ you said quickly getting ready to dodge again
> ‘for what’... ‘huh?’.. ‘what are you sorry for’ he said searching your eyes for an answer
> ‘everything’.. ‘y/n that’s not a fucking answer’ frustrated he walked over to you pulling out a necklace that hid under his shirt
> ‘we got these as a fucking promise, a promise we would always be here, are you even wearing yours’ his hand reached over to your neck, his eyes lit up for a second when he realised you were still wearing it
> ‘i know you still love me, so why the fuck-’
> ‘bakugou you’re in constant fucking danger because of me, we can’t do anything together without having to worry, i want you to find someone that you can be in a normal relationship with, not someone who can’t even go outside with you without fearing the worst’ you let a couple tears slip out wiping them away as fast a they came
> ‘don’t be fucking stupid come here’ he pulled you towards him engulfing you in his scent which you missed greatly, ‘dumbass, we make these fuckin decisions together, which means you have to deal with me, we aren’t breaking up over some stupid villains alright’
> you held him tighter than you have before
> he made sure that for now you order take out rather than going out to eat and when you do go outside you made sure to wear masks and go with some of your classmates
> he does all of this because he loves you that much and he cares that much
Tumblr media
[ todoroki ]
> you pined over eachother for months before todoroki had the courage to talk to you
> the conversations always flowed really well and there was no awkward pauses thinking of what to say
> you fit with eachother like a puzzle piece
> since you’re the first person he’s felt this way about you had to, show him affection and how it w o r k s?
> like when you hug him he doesn’t understand why people like hugging until you do it, he feels warm and safe in your arms and he now understands why he sees people hugging a lot
> when you first kissed it was like sparks and fireworks were going off around you, you didn’t plan on kissing him then but you had just hugged him so he was close and you looked up at him as he looked down at you smiling a little, with that you closed the space between you pressing your lips to his
> your relationship since then has been a comfortable and safe relationship for you both, that was until the training camp incident when you realised how much danger you were really putting todoroki in
> aizawa was talking to you in the staff room about the safety precautions you had to take and how you have to be careful with your relationship with todoroki
> a part of you was hoping he’d say you have to break up for safety reasons but he knows you don’t want that, even if it was for the best
> todoroki is going to be an amazing hero who will save thousands of lives and you could be the undoing of that future
> so you had to do it
-> scenario
> ‘hey love, what are we doing outside’ you were stood outside the dorms, you wanted to tell him here just so no one would interrupt
> ‘i uhm..’ this is a lot harder than you thought
> you looked at your feet refusing to look into his eyes knowing you’d breakdown
> ‘todoroki i can’t do this.. anymore’
> ‘can’t do what?’ when you didn’t look at him again he realised
> ‘what.. what happened baby we were normal yesterday did i do something wrong?’ you ignored him shifting your feet a little
> ‘do you not love me anymore’ it broke your heart that he thought that, you’re doing this because you love him not because you don’t .. but you had to say this to get him away
> ‘i..no i don’t’
> refusing to look at his face you ran back in tears falling down your cheeks as you ignored your friends asking if you’re okay and shut yourself in your room
> no more laying on his chest while you talk about random things at 3am, no more feeding him soba and no more holding hands running in the rain
> it was all too good to be true and now it’s over
> the next couple weeks you wanted to see him, check how he was doing but you couldn’t so you stuck to quick glances, sometimes you met his eyes in the process cursing at yourself
> your friends noticed you were off, ochako midoriya and iida asked why you weren’t hanging out with them
> you didn’t want to cause todoroki more pain so you hung out with the bakusquad so todoroki could stick with his friends without it being awkward
> you’re already friends with some of the bakusquad but you just didn’t hang out with them as much
> ‘y/n why do you look so.. lifeless’ denki asked you, you would usually be happy to talk to people and be playful but recently you had just stared at your food and soba only to be reminded of him
> ‘i don’t know’ you lied, your friends were worried about you
> todoroki was good at hiding things, he was a lot happier with you smiling while with you and around you but now he doesn’t have you
> a part of you thought he was over it already but you knew that was just you overthinking it
> ‘you know what, we should have a class movie night !, mopey you’re coming’ you looked at mina for a second before realising you’re who she’s talking to
> ‘mopey’ you raised a brow, ‘yeah you haven’t been yourself lately we want the old y/n back!! ..you haven’t even gamed with us’ kirishima spoke up making you smile sadly
> and then you realised todoroki probably won’t be at the movie night since he only went because of you ‘okay, ill go’
> that night you sat inbetween denki and bakugou scrolling through your phone while the dekubakusquad picked a movie
> ‘hey dumbass, why’d you look so fuckin dead’
> ‘not sure’.... ‘that’s bullshit’ he responded staring at his own phone
> ‘mhm’ was all you could say before the movie started
> as you looked up you realised todoroki was sitting in front of you
> how were you going to get through this..
> the movie begun and you quickly realised it was one of your favourite movies, it was the movie that you and todoroki had your first kiss watching
> clearing your head of these thoughts you carried on watching
> half an hour later it got to the part where the guy finally kisses his crush and you felt tears in your eyes, holding them back as you remembered todoroki kissing you during this scene
> you felt someone move from in front of you, your eyes widening as todoroki took your arm pulling you up close to him
> ‘what are you-’
> ‘y/n i chose this movie because i wanted to be able to do this again’ he cupped your cheeks smashing his lips to yours, you couldn’t pull away this is all you wanted and missed
> as you both pulled away he said ‘i know you don’t love me but i want to help you learn to love me again and i prom-’ you cut him off as you felt guilt bubble up inside of you remembering what you said
> ‘i lied.. i said that i didn’t love you because i needed you to leave, i broke up with you because of the target, i can’t have someone finding out about us and using you and hurting you as a way to get to me i would be taking away your chance at becoming a great hero, i can’t do that it’s selfish’
> he looked at you as the sides of his lips curled up in a small smile
> ‘a part of me should be mad at you for breaking up with me because of hero stuff but i understand, i’m relieved you love me, i love you and you love me that’s why we’re going to be careful and make this work’
-Sugary sweet-
(Modern!Childe x gn(?) reader)
Ok tbh this is very bad since I made this a LONG LONG time ago, when my writing era just started. But when I was scrolling through my notepad I saw this fic and I was like, "Omg did I actually wrote this? (derogatory) " BUT. I was too lazy to write something else at the moment but I felt bad for not posting so I figured I should try and share this old terrible work of mine. I sincerely apologize if you don't like this fic.
Warning: cringe obvi, short like my sleep hours, mention of sugar daddy, word crimes, slightly suggestive, maybe a little bit ooc, not proofread, event take place in the modern world.
*・゚゚・*:.。..。.:*゚:*:✼✿  ✿✼:*゚:.。..。.:*・゚゚・*
It was a sunny day. Just like yesterday. And the day before. And the day before. There's nothing interesting happening these days.
Well, today you decided to stop by the newly opened cafe near your office. I mean- why not? Sweets are your thing. You practically survive off sweets.
You got a few (a lot) of pastries and a cup of coffee. You were walking home cheerfully, eager to eat your pastries once you got home. That is until you bumped onto a tall figure, spilling your coffee everywhere. Even your box full of pastries fell to the ground. Before you could even do anything, the flock of birds nearby already surrounded it.
"Oh my, are you alright? " The soothing voice made you cocked your head up to look at the person.
You malfunctioned for awhile. How could a man like him exist? His ginger hair paired with beautifuly unique blue eyes. He's wearing a suit. And oh archons, his hand is so beautiful. His glove shaped itself around his fingers perfectly, complimenting his already stunning image. You were practically staring.
"Umm... Hello...? Miss? " You broke out of your fantasy upon hearing his voice once again. Archons, did I just openly stared at him? Embarrassing.
"Oh! Yea-yeah. Im sorry for bumping into you" You apologized.
"No! It supposed to be me who apologize. Because of me your food has gone to waste" Oh. You actually forgot about your pastries. Ok, now you're a bit mad. Though, you can't blame him.
"How about I compesate you? I'll buy you your pastries back" He offered.
You tried your best to turn down his offer but he keeps on insisting. At last, you accepted it anyway. Oh how could you resist when a handsome rich man with attractive hands practically begging to pay you back.
"My name is [name]." You introduced yourself while shaking his beautiful covered hand.
You exchanged your number with him. He said that although he would be more glad to go with you today, he has some jobs to do.
"I'll text you whenever I'm free. Nice to meet you, Miss [name]. I'm Ajax, by the way"
After all that, you went home. You lay in bed after taking a nice fresh cold shower.
"Ajax huh... "
You closed your eyes, slowly sailing so sleep. You were way too exhausted to think about anything anymore. Alot has happened today and you don't want anymore thought floods your mind after todays event.
You may not realized it, but you were waiting for his text.
𝘼 𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙠 𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧.
You've finally gotten his text. So he didn't forget after all?
And here you are. Sitting infront of him, in a cafe waiting for your orders.
He got the casual look today. With a gray long sleeved turtleneck and black pants. He's not wearing gloves today. Archons. His hands really is beautiful. You can't help but stare at it.
"Are you done staring? "
You blushes madly. Archons, I did it again. You apologized, while still wearing that flustered expression all over your face.
"Ahaha... It's alright. I can't blame you for thinking that I'm attractive" He claimed proudly.
"My, you have quite the pride, Mr. Ajax. Though, I would too if I'm a person as handsome as you." He seems to be quite amused by your statement. It's bold, just like how he like it
And that's how you met Ajax. You've gradually became closer to him to the point that you knew everything about him and he knew everything about you too. Before you knew it, you both started flirting with each other.
One day, he asked you to accompany him to a certain place to discuss some "business" with you. You gladly accepted.
Your jaws opened wide when he took you to the fanciest hotel you've ever seen. You knew he is rich but wow...
You sat on the bed with satin bedsheet. If there is one word that could describe the moment, it would be "Fancy". Your heart races with anticipation as Ajax dimmed the light and sat next to you.
"I have... a job for you, my dear. It is quite beneficial for you, if I must say so. That is if you accept it, of course. " He stated.
You were interested with the sound of it since you were fired from your company not too long ago. A job is exactly what you needed.
"And may I know what job is it?" You asked.
He chuckled and started to get closer to you. His blue eyes fixated on you.
"You just need to love me. Satisfy me. And since... you seem to really love sweet things, how about I became your sweet sugar daddy? You'll just have to be by my side whenever i need you to. How does that sound angel? "
You were honestly surprised, but you would be lying to yourself if you say that you don't want him to say that.
"Well, the job does sound irresistible. I accept it. I'm truly grateful to have an employer such as you are~" You said seductively. Your answer was given, consent was established, now there's only one thing to do
He pulls you onto his lap, He close the distance between your faces and pulls you into a heated make out session. It went on for quite a while.
He broke off the kiss, letting you to take your breath. "I think... We shouldn't rush this. Let's take it slow. " He said as he brushed his hand softly on you cheek. Caressing it.
"And since you love this finger of mine so much... " He whispered softly to your ear.
He shoved his index and his middle finger in your mouth, touching the back of your tongue with the his finger pads.
"Why don't you suck it for me, darling~"
