that is most DEFINITELY deku!! he arrives at the airport with you and inko standing together waiting for him and he doesn't notice the change in your body until he goes to hug you and feels your stomach poking him so he looks down and FINALLY see's your pregnant stomach and his face becomes all red at the realization and the fact his mom is there too?? bc she knows how babies are made and he's all fidgety and you're like calm down we're all adults 😑😑 then tell him he knocked you up before he left and he's just super flustered bc you're saying this all in front of his mom but inko is just smiling and happy bc she's having a grandchild and ofc deku is happy to have kid but it's gonna take him some time to get used to the sudden change of everything..

Like he’s SO happy, but doesn’t even know how to process it bc the last time you talked abt babies (even anything at all), was before he left for work… so not only is getting home this big change, but NOW THE GUEST ROOM HAS A CRIB IN IT?

(Besides the fact he’s all sweaty and gross from the airplane, unshaven and hasn’t had a proper haircut since who knows when… and this is how he looks finding out??? The picture of you both there for the announcement is sooooo wonky lmfao)

But once you both finally get home it starts feeling a bit more real, not only cuz he gets to watch you patter around the house w/ a baby belly, but also because he gets more than enough time off after such a long mission PLUS paternity leave to spend with you prepping for the babby❣️

(He is a little mad that all his friends knew before him tho, and already started to help set up the nursery… he’s like “did uhhh…kacchan build this crib?”)

I need to talk about how much I adore this scene from the Star Trek (2022) comic (Issue #16 for anyone wondering).

For context, just before these two panels comes one where Tom is telling Miral about the Tzenkethi naming system:

First of all, his name for Miral by Tzenkethi standards is adorable and feel so in-character for Tom. Her family name (Torres-Paris, and I'm so pleased to have B'Elanna's surname included), her job (being a baby), where she was born (Voyager of course), and her motivation (nap time!)

And he also does his own Tzenkethi-style name: Paris (family) Pilot (job) Portola (where he was born) and Adventure (his motivation).

But then we get the panels from OPs post. Because that first version isn't who Tom Paris is anymore. He's still a Paris but he's also a Husband (and how sweet is he to decide this is his Job™ - his Duty), he was really born (or rather, reborn) aboard Voyager, and his motivation, the one he is in service to, is his baby girl Miral.

Now that is how you write post-Endgame Tom Paris.
