obvs it isn’t canon but I love this adaptation. The superpowers are portrayed as powerful as they actually are, there’s more drama and angst which I needed, the timeline is VERY different to the show. Marinette stands up for herself to chloe the same day that ladybug and chat noir reveal their identities, so it’s like the origins episode of season 1 mixed with one of the various identity reveals from season 4. Also she’s not friends with any of her class other than alya, adrien and nino, so it’s also kind of pre-origins vibes. Idk, it was really good and I can’t wait to watch it in better quality, with captions, and without ads playing every half hour

Also I’m forever thankful that there was no lila rossi storyline

I'd like to share the actual hell of a dream I had last night. Please sit down for this one. it's a doozy. Okay, so I'm at what must've been a party in a garage. Theres neon purple LED lights set up on the walls, and music playing. Danny Gonzalez, Drew Gooden, and Will Wood are all there. Will Wood was in the damn roof, like he was yknow how in houses the garage roof isn't insulated and stuff. yeah he was sitting on the wall between the garage and the rest of the house just dangling his feet there. There was also a child strapped to the uninsulated roof for some reason. I only talked to this child like I was Alastor from hazbin hotel. I was not Alastor from hazbin hotel. I dont know why I did that. But I was talking with Danny Gonzalez and Drew Gooden. Apparently, me and Danny had made a video in the past that was very fun to make titled "Gorgonzola." and kept making jokes about it, Drew Gooden had not seen the video so he was very confused. Anyhow, the song with five names by Will Wood starts playing, and I start singing and dancing along. Drew tries to join me but he doesnt know the song but hes trying his best. But it seems like everyone else at the party does since eventually we have everyone (Except William Woodsworth himself and the child strapped to the ceiling-) doing what appears to be a choreographed dance like we're in a musical except for Drew who's still just trying his best. At one point I guess Will teleports off of the roof or something because now he's on the ground watching us perform his song and theres not a good way he couldve gotten down from there. He was also watching us extremely thoughtfully and seriously. When the song ends, another song starts playing. My first two days of school have been soooo wild like i almost died twice and three of my classmates DID die (one of them twice!!!) (they came back dw) but, like, is college supposed to be like this???

Anyways i got this cool work-study at the school cafe (i look supes cute in the little barista aprons! plus i got to take home some of the sweets after my shift!!), but on our very first day some janitor kept saying he was our boss?? idk tbh 😒 The cafe was a mess so we had to, like, clean the whole place and some coffee ghosts attacked us. My hair was a NIGHTMARE before the place even opened, but you know ya girl had extra hair ties and can work hair magic in a pinch, so it was totally fine.

Some of my coworkers r definitely cooler than others, but whatevs. It was nice to finally meet new people (well...mostly new) after going to school with the same, like, 100 people for the past 18 years of my life uuggghhhh This school is pretty cool overall- they even got THE Danny Breeze (and the boys!) to come play on campus and had a new student raffle for 6 VIP tickets!! Which i won ofc bc i'm the obvious choice 🎉

I ended up inviting my new coworkers bc it felt like a good way to bond with them, and also i haven't even had my first day of classes yet so idk who else i wouldve gone with. DEF not my roommate. There were like some ppl I probs wouldn't have invited but like idk it just felt rude to invite everyone BUT them so 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

But like the concert ended up being way crazier than i couldve imagined! The manager came to us practically begging on her knees for my help because she lost track of THE ENTIRE BAND. idk if i'm allowed to go suuuper into detail about it, but basically the band got kidnapped by some nasty industry folks who were trying to CLONE them! It felt like one of those scifi movies that Vol always makes me watch. We had to FIGHT the evil clones too! I almost died again! On my S E C O N D day at Strixhaven!! That's me at 2 near-deaths, Lulu and Muk at 1 full KO each, and Mettie at TWO. I cannot stress enough that orientation isn't even until TOMORROW.

I got like rlly angry at one of the clones, too. It ruined my vintage shirt from depop so i yelled at it, and then when it died i kinda like? Absorbed some of its life energy? I don't know, maybe i was just really relieved we weren't in danger any more, but i swear some of the nerve damage from the electrocution healed up. idk what that was all about.

Doesnt matter tho cuz we ended up being able to party on stage with the band once we saved them all (yeah, if you see videos of the concert from last night, you can totally see me on stage!! 🎤🌸) AND we got to go to the exclusive after-party. I can't talk about everything that happened, but let's just say i ended up with Coale's shirt to take home 😘 I have a TON of pics to share later!! Immediately before the second show i am on the hotel tv switching between the film fargo and episodes of wwe rivals. Latter had ads and the former didnt though so I kinda ditched austin bret for the last 45 minutes of fargo, even though ive seen fargo two times already. I was row 3 for this show, pretty much directly in front of linnell. I need to ask him if he was smiling at me forgetting the lyrics to fucking birdhouse in your soul or something else. Conflicting reports on whether danny was playing with a broken foot (show 1) or ankle (show 2), but ive always been enamored with his stage presence on synopsis for latecomers especially, hes kinda 😳 a little bit. Birdhouse second is..bizarre, I am aching pretty bad right now and I still wish I couldve jumped to the greatest song ever written. Moonbeam rays is so nice. Bangs is kind of rhythmically complex, awesome song and awesome that they played it, tune, etc. Man its so loud in here continues to be the greatest song of all time. Mink car song is so smooth, what a cool track. Marty triangle. Oghhhghgh dont even get me started on cyclops rock, it’s like the only reason I went to these shows. I’m just kidding id see them all the time if I could, but I FUCKING LOVE CYCLOPS ROCK, IT GOES SO HARD and I relate to the lyrics a lot and I literally TOLD YOU HOW TO CYCLOPS ROCK, AND THEN YOU GO AND TURN AROUND AND BREAK MY HEART. He did the original nixon line too which is so fucking awesome, best song ever methinks. I cant believe it took this long for me to hear older live, but it was almost worth the wait, what a cool fucking song, so good live. I wasnt at a great angle to see the Damn Good Times Dan Miller Balcony Guitar Solo but after it flans said “dan miller, the peoples guitarist” or something and I laughed really hard. Also incredible that theyre calling this show the big show sometimes . WEEEEEELLL

I hate bottled water so much but a tickle in my throat kept waking me up the night before. OH MY GOD, THEY PLAYED SUBLIMINAL AGAIN. Also, im beyond just a little pissed off they didnt play bills bills bills. They did at the show i didnt fucking see.

But not to end on a bad note, I love they might be giants so much, I dont even care that it feels like my calves will never not be sore.

You volunteered yourself for the flowers, since there had just opened a flower shop around your blocks corner.

The flower shop around the corner seemed like it would make nice arrangements, since they had quite the selection on display. During your lunch break, you went there and promptly an employee asked if she could help you.

“Yes, I’m looking for a flower shop that can supply the wedding of a friend with fifteen flower arrangements.”

“Of course. You’ve come to the right place. I’ll show you what we could do on the tablet and if you like that, we can move on to the real thing and deliver them the day of.”

“That sounds nice. I thought of calla lilies, baby’s breath and pink roses.”

The employee showed you what she’d do and you agreed with her selection to move forward. Two days later, you got a call to see the example arrangement in the flesh. At the shop, the flowers looked every bit like you imagined them. You paid the deposit and were in high hopes for the wedding.

The wedding came closer and closer, only ten days now. Your stroll took you around the neighborhood to the flower shop but what you saw made you stop dead in your tracks. The store front was dark, the sign above the door was missing and the inside was devoid of anything. No flowers, no tables, no bowls, no register. Next morning, you tried calling and googling them. It seemed like they had never existed. You called your friend and explained what had happened and ended with the promise to try and get replacements. She agreed about it being unlucky but told you she was thankful for you trying to fix a mess you weren’t responsible for.

You had been able to get out of work early and took a stroll in the evening light. Deep in thought, you bumped into something soft.

“Oof.” Came from in front of you.

The man turned around.

“I’m so-“ You cut yourself off when you looked at his face.

“Don’t worry about it.” He brushed it off.

“I should’ve watched where I’m going.” You shook your head.

“Deep in thought?”

“A bit. I’m just wondering where to get flower arrangements for my friend’s wedding.”

The man grinned at that.

“What’s so funny?” You questioned.

“Look behind me for a second.”

You did and saw a store front with double doors. The shop was dark inside but the street light and setting sun cast light onto several baskets full of different flowers, tablets saying which and how many flowers cost what and some arrangements. Above the doors stood in colorful, romantic letters “Sam’s Flowers”.

“I’m guessing you’re Sam?” You chuckled.

“Bingo. And you are?”

“Y/N.” You held out your hand.

Sam shook it, after transferring a small flower bouquet to his left hand.

“Flowers for your date?”

“Nah, flowers for me. No date in sight, just a good bottle of wine and a home cooked meal for myself.”

“I won’t keep you then. Have a nice evening.” You waved your hand and went home, as did Sam, you supposed. You thought about where to get flower arrangements and after a few steps you turned around.

“Uhm, Sam?” You called out.

Holy shit, Fresh was so fucking good!

The real-ness of the first minutes with Noa's date being a fuckboy extraordinaire who was literally called Chad and then the man behind her when she walked to her car who just walked with his baby but it's just ingrained in us women to see these threats because not seeing them leads to our demise. And the immediate dickpic after the luring in with a nice doggo. And despite all these shitty things that are all too real there's still the need and want to believe in guys who are just nice. The whirlwind romance which than comes crashing down.

Steve Kemp literally being and as Mollie said in the movie "a straight girls' fantasy" plus a mix of all dark fics we ever read that weren't set in an AU (and that exclusion is just because his profession wasn't that profession in dark fics). How Mimi Cave didn't shy away from the possibility of rape and making it all that much more realistic because that possibility is always on the table and how there wasn't anything sexually unconsensual.

How Noa played along and fooled Steve and never once compromised her principles and did what she could to save the to her basically foreign woman and her best friend not even stopping from the utmost measures and getting her revenge just as Mollie at the almost end.

And then in the very last second Chad's text encapsulating literally every fuckboy ever!

It was an incredible movie and that was the first movie Mimi Cave directed and it was already this masterpiece, we can expect great movies from her! But I still wanna know who is responsible for Ann having one amputated lower leg. Was that Steve? If yes, why did he stop after "just" the lower leg? Did she agree to turning a blind eye to Steve's "antics" so her lifestyle can be financed? How long has she been okay or even complacent in all of it?

what are your thoughts on it? it's been a little while since i've seen it so i might be forgetting some stuff

the overall feeling of like. family that you aren't close with and it's mostly fine but it's still uncomfortable and you're trying to make up for it but it's kind of hard was done very well. i think it's sometimes easy to make family relationships be either good or overtly bad (like i love it but dead poets society still kinda does this) so i really liked how they did it here

i do wish it was a bit longer, it's in a weird spot of being like. longer than a short film and shorter than an average movie, and i think it could've gone a little bit further than it did

actually i wanna talk more about this because Danny and Lori could've really been something if the show creators didnt constantly sideline Danny for Steve. And I'm not just talking about romantically (tho loridanny is my beloved) but h5o creators have a history of almost distorting characters from their initial forms in order to fit them into meaningful relationships with Steve when they're actually so much better suited to be friends with Danny

Chin and Kono are really the only characters in the show who are equally close to Steve and Danny (though that changes a lot in the later seasons as well) and its something that bugs me a lot

Lori and Danny are both from the mainland, both from traditional law enforcement, both have very strict ideals about police procedure (until they warped Danny completely) and could've honestly been such good friends and had a really meaningful bond. The same goes for Lou and Danny if I'm being totally honest -- I never understood why they continuously tried to force Lou and Steve together, when literally nothing would've happened if Lou had bonded with Danny instead. Even Adam and Tani start out with really meaningful relationships with Danny -- but those relationships end up getting sidelined for their relationship w Steve.

Hell they even do it with Jerry. Jerry is Chin's friend from highschool, and yet somehow by the end of the show: Steve is the guy Jerry is closest to.

I know that Steve was the main character and its important to show him as a vital part of the show, but there's so many dynamics in the show that I personally feel would've been better suited to be Danny focused -- and would've given so much more depth and nuance to these characters

4/10 for wasted potential in proving dash is gay. this couldve gone so much harder. but bonus points for for passed out dash

9: Doctor’s Disorders

fellas is it gay to lock yourself in a bathroom stall so fenturd doesnt see the horrible monster youve become, tell him to ‘get away,’ and then pass out before being able to fight him despite being a school jock who could probably deal some damage and has a better immune system than the other kids? is it also gay to then when your entire life revolves around ghosts and having ghost powers to watch a sappy romcom while waiting for phantom to come save you? the answer is yes. 6/10 again it couldve gone harder

8: Frightmare

again dash himself isnt explicitly gay in this episode. but danny why is your ultimate dream scenario being best friends with dash and having him know your secret. it gets a higher rating than the other two bc its literally a wish fulfillment scenario aka 174% more gay. but mathematically speaking 2/10 for baiting me with dash in the first two minutes and then never bringing him back

7: Forever Phantom

“watch it, fentertainment tonight! i’m chasin’ a real somebody!” 10/10

also spending the entire episode devoted to hanging with phantom + another reference to the romance channel. not very nuanced but still very gay

6: Reality Trip

what do you think it means when the school jock finds out your secret, wastes exactly 0 time in helping you, and finds a way to shoehorn in giving you his clothes to wear while doing it. dash was only in this entire movie for like 4 minutes but damn if he wasnt homosexual for all of them 7/10

5: Ultimate Enemy

”but dash wasn’t even IN the ultimate enemy!!11!1!” EXACTLY. if older dash had been in the future with dark dan he simply would have smooched him and then there would have been no conflict. if younger dash had shown up to the big fight then dark dan wouldve broke down sobbing at what couldve been. they had to restrain dash from this entire episode bc of his power. 9/10 i know the truth.

4: Splitting Images

it is important to remember that dash has no goddamn idea that’s sidney. danny literally does 1 (one) nice thing for him and dash decides “ok well i will be his best friend and play football with him and be impressed by his skills and then throw a party and also put my hands on his shoulders several times.” this proves my point that if danny werent a little shit he and dash would already have been dating by the time the show starts. 8/10 for letting dash be mundanely gay instead of knowing anything about ghosts. it doesnt happen very often

3: Attack of the Killer Garage Sale

do you ever just get a tutor who happens to be the exact sister of that nerd you pick on and also call him a twink and then invite him to your party even though you do not have to and specifically tell him the dress code and get him at the popular kids table and then realize he might not have the money for the dress code so you intentionally seek him out to give him money for some computery thing you dont know about but you also also realize that probably isnt enough so last minute you change the entire dress code to something you know he has and wear his exact outfit to make him seem cool by comparison. do you ever do that.

2: Micro Management

the pièce de résistance of all dash content. im talking 20 minutes of nonstop dash. im talking taking every opportunity to talk about how cool phantom is. im talking abt getting grabbed by phantom to be saved by him. im talking abt having a mental breakdown cause you think youre not good enough. im talking about casually flirting via jokes. im talking being unable to stop thinking abt fenton even when youre face to face with your biggest hero. im talking about saying “we did it!!! :D” to cheer on said hero. im talking taking his hand. holding his hand. being lifted or pulled. im talking abt flipping the switch to save the day! im talking abt micro fucking management baybey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 12/10

1: Pirate Radio

he SAVES him. he calls him a hero. they are on EQUAL FOOTING and they KNOW IT. they have MATCHING GODDAMN OUTFITS!!!!!!!!!!! dashs personality doesnt have to be absolutely scrapped for him to be gay (”but i will be wailing on you”) but he clearly DOES get better (”sorry, old habits.”) he puts his heart and soul into fighting side by side w danny and we dont even SEE dashs parents which means that is Not Exactly The Reason he Is Here. he also believes with 0 hesitation that fenton is capable of throwing a total rager. NO there is not as much dash here as in micro management but. i mean look at these screenshots. THIS is gay representation. THESE are some genuine fucking boyfriends. 18/10

Ive been rewatching hercules the animated series and its pretty charming. I havent seen it in years and I've only ever watched it on youtube out of order and with whole bunch of episodes missing

Despite the most egregious butchering of greek mythology and jokes that haven't aged well, the show was still entertaining with fun writing and references to greek myth that shows the writers did do their research.

Hercules is truly a himbo and really endearing to me. Just a sweet dork who's doing his best to be a big boy hero, and he's a total klutz. Cassandra is the bookish goth archetype along the lines of sam from danny phantom and ravens of teen titans so she's cool. Icarus is annoying. His entire personality is being obnoxious and trying to get into cassies chiton, which is def a running gag that hasn't aged well.

I like how aphrodite is presented in this series. In most other media I've seen of her, shes shown as vain, immature, dramatic, and temperamental, but in hercules she's a pretty chill person who gives off the impression of someone mature and wise. Her intro song is fun too. Artemis has a cool design but her accent sure was a choice. Athena and ares are as you expect w the whole sibling rivalry brain vs brawn thing they have going on.

Theres an episode that had the norse gods which was interesting and while I liked the story, I found the designs to be pretty lazy and inaccurate. The treatment of the valkyries were just plain disrespectful. They couldve done more with it

Overall though, I liked the designs in this show especially the backgrounds. I must say some of the character proportions are pretty whack. In particular, icarus and his giant fucking head. Every scene where he's standing next to someone else, the size of his head distracts me. The songs are good too

so I decided to watch danny phantom. I got 3 episodes in and I have Thoughts. im not going to liveblog it necessarily, but just, maybe post my thoughts every 3-5 episodes? because, I have thoughts. (which im sure are not NEW thoughts for dp fans, but, you know. new for me) Anyway. ep 1-3 Thoughts.

- the parents Suck. I love Jazz.

-dannys little 'actually i wanna be an astronaut :)' BABY. im adopting him and his sister. these parents suck so far lol jazz shouldnt have to deal with this and being the most responsible person in the house at age 16. HATE the 'absentminded idiot parents' trope SO much actually. it just makes me mad and makes me want to adopt these kids.

-sam...is so much like me at age 15. at least when I was having a vegan phase. not saying veganism isnt a legit thing or w/e but. my god. shes so Not Like Other Girls. lmfao. if she wanted to go to the dance, she shouldve just SAID so directly!! and I hated her just going up and being catty to Paulina for No Reason Other Than Jealousy UNPROVOKED!!! Like, if anything, the BOYS are the shallow ones, approaching Paulina based on nothing but her looks instead of getting to know her?? it would not have been shallow of her at all to turn them down, she has every right to.

-tbh the way the girls are written makes me cringe. they Deserve Better I think. anyway tbh if a girl came up to me being that rude,, im not saying paulina was RIGHT to lead danny on, but like. I can't be super mad at her for it...sam was bein. hm. rude. and in paulinas little teenager brain thought that was the fastest way to get back at her I guess, by taking the guy she may or may not be crushing on?? I just hate unnecessary rivalry between girls in shows. anyway. glad she did attempt to apologize near the end anyway. I do get that a lot of kids shows have the protags being shitty to teach a moral lesson later and show them apologizing. it still rubbed me the wrong way.

-Was also rolling my eyes at Sam's 'the gorilla needs to be FREE!!' like girl realistically if theres two left,, itll be a huge poaching target, its better to keep it with professionals so it can lead a long, healthy enriched life, and so we can have a lot of footage to teach future generations about so we at least have the memory/history preserved as well as possible! zoos and nature preserves and such can be good. focus on, idk, taking down sea world or smth. (also, the fact it turned out to be a girl gorilla,, and no one noticed until Danny got An Eyeful...of course it would have to be. you cant just tell kids watching this show that theres two male gorillas and theyll DIE FOREVER AND GO EXTINCT AFTER THAT. I GUESS??? but showing danny possessing people is fine. gotcha)

-I liked skulkers design A Lot. it (funnily enough with the episode involving an actual gorilla-) reminded me of the way the gorillaz band got drawn early on. I think its the eyes.

-the voice actor for the box ghost sounded SO familiar. so I went to his IMBD originally thinking he HAD to be a voice actor on ed edd n eddy. THIS GUY HAS VOICE ACTED IN EVERY CARTOON I GREW UP WITH. SO MANY CARTOONS AND ANIMATED MOVIES. funnily enough he was in ed edd n eddy like i thought but in a very very minor role of one of the parents?? I think I just assumed he had to have voiced something I used to watch a lot of. actually, hes voice acted everything, ever. and has been since the 80s, and still does today. -did valerie actually cancel on tucker,, or did the boys just lie to take sam to the dance. that seems so unfair to val but we never SAW unless I was looking away. valerie u deserve a date sweetie i am SO sorry. if u already made a commitment to valerie I think sam can take HERSELF TBH. she wanted to be passive aggressive about the dance, it couldve been a lesson in 'just say what you want and dont expect your friends to be mindreaders' lol

-'boys hugging makes every year book funny' TOP 10 SAM HOMOPHOBIC MOMENTS?? let them cuddle while they nap girl wtf. I KNOOOW I know this is how a lot of cartoons were written in the early 2000s but I hate it.

-tucker being freaked out by the cute ghost girl wanting to dance with him at the dance?? no sir. you WANTED A GIRL TO WANT TO DANCE WITH YOU!! and your best friend is half ghost!! tucker top ten ghostphobic moments!!! (also, her having a dragon amulet is a BONUS. coward)

My 2020 top 20 movie list

(Disclaimer that most of these weren't made in 2020 but I just watched them this year. These aren't also really in a very particular order but they are lowkey ranked) (i also had to be choosey with the images i out cause of the limit, but yeah dont mind that)

20. The perfection

The plot twist in this movie is *chefs kiss* there was no way for me to predict the ending, bug as far as thrillers goes, it is brilliant. And also, lesbians. It can be a pretty triggering movie for ab*se and general gore, but really I love the pacing and the thrill of it.

19. The shining

Ah yes, a classic horror, and though I may feel iffy about Stanley Kubrick, this movie was pretty good. But I am saying this as a person that didn't read the book. The blood rushing down the hallway was really my favourite visual on the movie. It was a movie that made me felt genuinely scared while watching it, like hiding behind my blanket but also sweating scared, the suspense was pretty thrilling though

18. Doctor Sleep

Man do I love Danny Torrance, and Abra, fuck I love them both. Again, I never read the book, but my ignorance keeps me in bliss. The visuals of this movie are also great, and the emotions this movie puts through? I'm just glad headcanons exist, but really I did enjoy this movie even if it wasn't what I was expecting.

17. Birds of prey

Harley deserved a movie, and the fact that it was directed by a woman makes me love it so much more because we just got to see harley doing the things that she fucking wanted. This movie is wlw solidarity, from Margot robbie to Mary Elizabeth Winstead, women with crossbows? Sign me the fuck up. And from all the DC films I've seen, it's so much brighter, in the visual sense, there's colour! There's character! And not everyone is just brooding in darkness, its the type of movie that would make me actually watch and enjoy DC films.

16. Charlie's angels

Firstly, lesbians. Thank you. But really, its a good action comedy and really I'll jump at the chance to see women kick ass.

15. My octopus teacher

I've never cried over an octopus before, so that was an experience. And even though this is technically not a movie, I still wanted to put it on here cause it was really just a great documentary, especially since it happened in my home country and im very oddly proud of that fact.

14. Knives out

Murder mystery and chris evans go so well together. I have made a longer post, but to sum it up, like most of the movies on this list. The colours and the pacing and just the atmosphere of the movie was spectacular, and even though I couldve guessed the ending, I was still on the edge of my seat for most of it

13. Ready or not

I love this new wave of eat the rich media. Samara weaving is a great actor and I am in love with her and this whole movie. It really was something that I hadn't actually seen before and the fact that the whole curse thing at the end was true was really just wow. Along with eat the rich, I love the feral female energy lately, and the whole white clothing slowly but surely being covered in blood.

12. Geralds game

The line "youre only made of moonlight" lives in my head rent free. This movie, was really an experience and for a movie with only two people in it for the majority, it is really well done. I'll always feel iffy about a man writing a woman's experience (specifically) but I do love the way this movie went, yeah I hated the "Hand" scene, but I still enjoyed the after math of it.

11. The old gaurd

Again, more lesbians, what more could I ask for? The concept for this movie is brilliant, immortal mercenaries is the only trope I want from now on, and found family.

10. Parasite

Again with the eat the rich. This movie was mindblowing, and just, the imagery!! And im glad they didn't dub it in English cause fuck that, I enjoyed it perfectly with subtitles.

9. song of the sea

This movie, this movie! Is so precious and I had that song stuck in my head for days.the name Saoirse is also so oddly pleasing to hear. This story is so beautiful, the music is amazing and it makes me want to be a fae.

8. Scott pilgrim vs the world

This movie really did pass what my expectations for what I thought it was gonna be, the music was amazing, the transitions and editing style was *chefs kiss* and even though I felt like I was in a fever dream the whole time, it'd be a fever dream I'd gladly rewatch.

7. The imitation game

Thank you Alan Turing. This movie recked me, like emotionally, I was a mess when I was done with it, but damn was it good, like I really just felt something while watching it, I mean most.of the movies on this list did, but this one just really hit me in some way.

6. Klaus

At least there are still good Christmas movies being made. Actually, I was a mess for this one too, the second that child got that sleigh thing it was over for my emotions. The whole sirge of turning Santa into this big macho dude really is working out and that's how Santa should always be depicted. I could gush about the animation style of this movie all fucking day, I love it so much (and the shadows!!! Ahh the shadows!) It really is just incredible.

5. I'm thinking of ending things

Hey man, I knew this was gonna fuck me up just by looking at the trailer, but there was absolitley no way to prepare for whatever was about to happen. Even after watching it, I have no idea what happened. But I still found it great, I love movies that give me an existential crisis.

4. Spirited away

All I wanted to do, was eat everything in that movie, even if it would turn me into a pig, holy hells this movie is good. There was just this satisfying appeal to it that I can't quite put into words. Its beautiful like everything studio ghibli movie ever.

3. The Willoughbys

I never knew I needed a found family movie with a bunch of kids that were already family. I've made a longer post about this movie, and I dont think I could really say more, this movie is so fucking touching and I love the direction it went in plot wise.

2. Howl's moving castle

Again, I may not have understood wtf was going on, but I'll be damned if I didn't love every second of it. There is no doubt that this movie is stunning, and I really am a suckered for early 2000's 2d animation, because!!! Look at it!!! Studio Ghibli films always just floor me with how good they look. I really wanna read the book, because I would absolutley love to see a feral Sophie giving howl shit for crying over hair.

1. Us

This movie will always be my no. 1 it is amazing and I love everything jordan peele has done with his movies. Especially for it to have a full black cast, and those black people have darker skin than what is normally shown in media. The feral but also calculated nature of each character is beautiful and nothing can ever make me hate this movie

I hope you enjoyed this incoherent "review" of my favourite movies I watched in 2020, its been a shit show and movies really have been a place of comfort for me. But stay safe and happy new year!

alright so long danni (ldn i will refer to her) & ee media along w/ tencent and sm made the survival show x-fire... the premise of xfire was that 16 contestants split into two different teams (white and red) and then at the end it would boil down to each team having 4 members and the winning team would debut as a group called xfire...but wait...the group’s name is xnine? so out of red team (peng chuyue, baishu, xiao zhan, xia zhiguang) and white team(wu jiacheng, gu jiacheng, zhao lei, and guo zifan) white team won...and they unofficially debuted as xfire..went abroad to train yadda yadda yadda and then a few months later, TELL ME WHY LONG DANNI DECIDES TO RELEASE POLLS TO LET FANS VOTE IN 5 MEMBERS INTO XFIRE TO CREATE XNINE! ldn PLEASE if u wanted to rig the show you should’ve decided in the beginning what was the point of making the teams and the fans fight against each other...

so yeah xz and crew weren’t actually supposed to debut according to show rules...i mean i’m glad they debuted obviously bc x9 is x9 but ee media and frickin ldn couldve handled this better...like every member except chen molerat is amazing and great but....WHY DIDNT MaNAGEMENT NOT BLATANTLY RIG THEM INTO THE GROUP

anyway the polls were RIGGED obviously thanks ldn what did u expect out of making POLLS, and xiao zhan, peng chuyue, xia zhiguang, yan xujia, and chen z*** were added to the group to create xnine...talk about rigged when chen z*** the molerat lookin turdface misogynist was added... anyway at the time he wasnt known to be problematic but ya the whole rigging thing caused a whole rift esp when x9 debuted bc there were fanwars and death threats initially but xfire did well because it was one of the (if not only) survival shows at that time and x9 debuted w/ a good response etc

then they got moved to wjjw (still owned by ldn thanks ldn) and wjjw is known for hoarding artists and not promoting them (THEY HAVE LIKE 45 ARTISTS BUT WERE FORMED 3 YEARS AGO MAKE IT MAKE SENSE) and not being promoted properly was EXACTLY what happened to xnine. as idols what they needed was music promotions, variety shows, etc stuff to get them as people out there but this genius ldn decided to promote them through stupid zodiac dramas like super star academy (to promote xfire finalists) and oh my emperor (which was an xnine drama). now i haven’t watched OME, but SSA gave me enough brain rot and gunk for me to not watch OME. (the only person who could act was baishu), and the story was SO BAD. nevermind the acting, because the boys weren’t initially slated to be actors, but the story was horrible, girl without superpowers suddenly becomes white cult goddess at the end??? WHAT???????? why didn’t ldn just promote them normally !!!!!! are they an actor group or an idol group???? I LOVE XNINE, THEY ARE TALENTED ARTISTS !!!! and eventually some went into acting (xz, guo zifan, gu jiacheng) BUT WAS THAT THE TIME DLFNJNF and then they just kept getting sent into random dramas and movies as random side characters instead of being able to make music and promote????? i’m sorry i’ve been stuck on using dramas to promote x9 for a while because that’s such a SILLY IDEA *vigorously shakes head*
