So for postman!Matty I think there is something to explore regarding the time they spend apart (working as a postman and/or tour) and how those reunions go, the type of tension that builds up and needs to be released etc.
yesssssss there’s absolutely a lot of tension and frustration that builds while he’s away :(
in this au, the 1975 is a way smaller band so the boys just tour in a van from city to city, playing to crowds of about 100-300 people at a time. this means that she cannot just join them for tour, unfortunately, as there’s usually limited space. but there are times when she’ll tag for a few cities and help them sell their merch because she is a music nerd and actually loves the material they make. she won’t admit it out loud to him, but she does listen to his stuff in her own time. always a sucker for a musician boyfriend. especially a hot, sexy, slutty one who worships her.
anyway, because she cannot go along with them, there’s definitely lots of sexual frustration pent up, especially for poor matty who cannot get off as much as he’d like to due to not being alone much lol. they will definitely have phone sex if there’s enough time and she also sends him photos as she’s actually a pretty skilled photographer (she comes from a design / art background). she will take rather beautiful images of her naked, or touching and pleasing herself, which just send matty off a cliff every single time because she’s the most perfect girl in his eyes. he definitely has them stored in his phone so he can look at her and not feel too distant. plus have some wank material. there’s also been times when she takes photos of him and them together, so those are the ones she looks at while he’s away. this is no secret as there’s definitely occasions when george or ross go to use matty’s phone and accidentally see the photos because dear mr. postman is not the smartest with digital technology and forgets to swipe away before he turns off the screen. roomie hann doesn’t even blink an eye at it anymore as he’s seen the prints which matty has next to his bed.
but yes, when he finally gets back, he doesn’t even go to his own apartment first because there’s no possible way he can wait another second without having her as he pretty much has a boner the whole day in anticipation. he doesn’t even try to hide the fact that he wants and needs girlie asap. thus, lots of the times it ends up with them on the couch as the bed is just too far away. he could literally cum from just watching and feeling her tits again (thank god) because he loves them so much. matty also spends a WHILE going down on her because tasting her again after several weeks makes him get impossibly turned on that it’s no surprise he’s cum in his pants before. but he doesn’t give a fuck and she finds it incredibly hot that he can just let go and truly be himself around her.
they fuck like bunnies in spring for that whole day as if to make up for lost time. it not a gentle affair, either. it’s sweaty, fast, and messy because we know he has a spit kink. the amount of time he can spend looking at his spit drip down her tits is unreal. one of his favourite sights in this world.
there’s definitely a lot of bruises and red marks left on both of them, and she sometimes cannot help but take photos of his scratched chest, shoulders or inner thighs (and cum on his stomach) once done to add to her collection. and let’s be real, he’s an exhibitionist so he feeds off the attention and knowing that you like him enough to photograph.
needless to say, once he’s back, they spend multiple days together at a time as they’re both so incredibly down and horny for each other that it is sickly sweet <3

hi lovely !! i loved your angsty fic with charles. i wondering if you could write a charles x reader based off the the song casual by chappell roan xx
much love
Tumblr media
Is it casual now? ⸺ CL¹⁶ ୨୧
Tumblr media Tumblr media
you’ve always wanted for it to be more, for it to be a serious relationship. you’ve dreamt of it, but it may be far from ever being serious. it seems like it’ll always just be labeled as ‘casual’.
[ warnings ! ] : gn reader, angst-ish ??, use of y/n like once not proofread
[ a/n ] : words cannot describe how HAPPY I was when I got this req omg, I was giggling n kicking my feet !! thank u sm for this req, I had so much fun writing this !! I hope you like it <33 I’m so sorry if it’s too short (reblogs very much appreciated !!)
⸺ angst under the cut
Tumblr media
“remember baby, no attachment.”
his words would ring in your head, loud and clear. and you’d prefer to forget them, you’d very much prefer so. you would’ve much preferred that he never said those words at all, even.
you thought you’ve hit the jackpot, managing to even befriend the monegasque. he was a popular man, a good looking one at that— surrounded with women everywhere he went.
you felt foolish for thinking that the relationship would last, you felt foolish for thinking that he would think of you better. for thinking that he’d consider you as someone he couldn’t lose.
forming a relationship with Charles wasn’t exactly easy. you didn’t know what the two of you were. friends? partners? you were confused, to say the least. you’re still holding onto the relationship, despite hearing so many rumors— that you were just a ‘friend that he bangs on the couch’.
you’d remind yourself every day, every night that the two of you were never together, and never will be. we’re not together, you tried to remind yourself whenever you two kissed, and it hurt, it hurt knowing you weren’t his first priority. you would let the words bounce in your mind as he kissed your cheek, and your forehead occasionally— we’re not together, you’d remind.
and yet, he’ll still brag you to his friends at the pier, he’ll still take care of your needs, eating you out like a starved man in the passenger seat. is it really casual now?
he talks about you to his mom, and you would’ve taken that as a good sign, as his mom invited you to her house on Long Beach— but it pains you knowing that he’s not even committed to the relationship, thats he’s not even seeking for it. he knows that he’s just using you, and he expects you to do the same— but you couldn’t bring yourself to do it. it pains you knowing that he’s talking about you to his mom only for the sake of keeping her happy that her son finally ‘found’ someone.
you’d find yourself dreaming about the two of you, thinking that maybe, just maybe, the two of you would have a shared apartment, decorating it accordingly together— make it feel like home.
and now the two of you are making out on the couch, your arms looped around his neck— his lips pressing onto yours, but his lips tasted bitter. feeling his body pressed against yours made you feel uncomfortable.
he trails down sloppy kisses to your neck, his hands roaming all over your body, finding their way to your hips.
you knew what would happen. the two of you would share an intimate moment, but as soon as it’s over— the two of you a panting and sweaty mess, it always will be “no attachment”.
and so before this would escalate any further, before you would be left with your heart aching— you mustered up the courage to ask him the question.
“..what are we?” you whispered, watching nervously as he lifts his head from your neck to look at you, his eyebrows raised in confusion and surprise on the sudden question.
“what?”
“you heard me.” you sighed, pulling your arms away from his neck, shifting slightly on the couch. the silence was deafening, you needed a answer.
“please. what’s our relationship?”
“you know what it is, y/n.” he sighs quietly, his hand cupping your face— his thumb caressing your cheek, a weak and bitter attempt to comfort you.
“no attachment, baby. it’s casual.”
“then get off of me.”

Angsty lando pleaseeeeee
This is my first rq omg, sorry it was rushed I have like 7 drafts and I’m trying to clear them out 🥲🫶🏼❤️
Surrender
Lando Norris x Fem!Reader
Summary: Reader was only trying to console Lando, Lando throws a hissy fit- and some truths are spilled. The ‘argument’ being quickly extinguished.
Warnings: Angst, swearing, very annoyed reader+Lando, fluff ending
Key: Y/N (Your Name) Y/L/N (your last name)
Word count: 1,397
A/N: I cannot see Lando being mean- so it was kinda weird to write 😂 Sarcastic asf? Yes! Mean- it seems so odd but I hope I done okay ❤️
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wether Lando was annoyed or not- I shouldn’t have recieved the back end of it.
I only asked a simple “you okay?” And I got back. “Just leave me the fuck alone.” Before storming back over to the car hopping back in and out on track.
Debating wether to go back to the drivers room or stay - I finally decided that going back to the drivers room was my best option. I felt embarrassed- after 4 people asked me if I was okay, I felt to upset and awkward to be around them.
My face was Ferrari red- no joke, shuffling my way back to the drivers room, I sat in pure silence. Did I really say anything bad? Did I actually annoy him and it wasn’t the car? Questioning my intentions for the next 10 minutes or so is all I did. Before I came to the perfect idea and decided to just leave in general, go back to the hotel and dwell on it all there.
While I had the chance to run I did. Straight back to our hotel and straight into the shower, a day washed away once again. I made quick effort to change into a simple shorts pyjama set, lounging out on the small sofa they had in the room.
My phone re-woke me. Grabbing ahold and answering, only to realise who it was when the angry voice spoke down the line.
“Where the hell are you?!”
“Back at the hotel?”
“I’ve looked everywhere for you! Nobody knew! You didn’t tell me!!” Rubbing my eyes, a yawn escaping me. I tutted at him climbing off the sofa and into the bed.
“I fell asleep and forgot to message sorry-”
“I’m nearly at the hotel.” And with that he hung up, here I anxiously sat. I get the annoyance but he was the reason I left in the first place.
Sighing I mentally prepared myself for the lecture I was about to withstand. And truthfully I couldn’t be asked for it.
“Y/N.” The door unlocked and he barged in.
“Seriously- what the hell is going on with you? I needed you at the pits today.” Frowning he stormed off into the bathroom.
“Errr- No, you told me to ‘leave you the fuck alone’ so I did.” Leaning over the bed I put my phone on charge.
“Just cause I said it, didn’t mean I meant it.” Tutting I hear him switch on the shower waiting around for it to warm up, he walked back out facing me.
“Wether you meant it or not Lando. I didn’t deserve it.”
“Well who else am I supposed to let my anger out on.” Throwing his hands up in the air like it’s the most problematic thing in his life at the moment.
“You can vent to me any day- you know that. But I won’t take rudeness.”
“I wasn’t fucking rude!” Shaking his head laughing to himself he went back into the bathroom slamming the door.
“There you go again. Just because your cars shit! Don’t take it out on me.” Laying back on the bed with a groan I stared up at the ceiling.
What a dick.
“My car is not shit-” glancing over at him now standing back outside the bathroom door, he looked so pissed off- but why is it okay for him to say stuff and not me.
“Did I touch a nerve?”
“What made you even bring that up? We wasn’t talking about that.”
“The whole reason for your sour mood is that car.”
“Can’t a guy just have a bad day.” Pulling his hoodie off throwing it on the floor.
“There’s a bad day and then a bad weekend. And you’ve been an asshole to me this whole weekend. If it’s not the car then what? Is it me?” Raising my eyebrows at him I sat on the edge of the bed.
“Your talking stupid again.” And once again he stormed into the bathroom, stripping down to his underwear.
“Then what is it?- I’m not a mind-reader Lando! I can’t help unless you tell me what’s pissed you off.”
“Your not listening! Nothing has pissed me off, fucking hell.” I could’ve got whiplash the amount of times he has stormed in and out that bathroom.
The hot and cold was pissing me off- and before I knew it, all the calmness washed away from me- and all the built up annoyance and anger reeled out.
“You are so frustrating- do you understand that.” Furrowing my brows I stood up, gesturing my hands in front of me.
“One minute it’s ‘can’t a guy have a bad day’ then it’s ‘I’m not pissed off’ or it’s ‘I needed you in the garage today’ but your not pissed off right? So why did you need me. Do you understand how fucking childish your being.” Chest rising and falling, we both stared at each other in silence.
“And while I’m getting everything off my chest for once- your car is shit! Man up and tell the team, don’t drive a shit car and then get annoyed at me for asking a simple question. I didn’t build the stupid car, I don’t drive it- I have no involvement!” Turning around grabbing a pillow off the bed I stomped towards the sofa. “Stupid fucking thing it is.” Mumbling to myself while shaking my head.
“Because I have human decency, I’ll sleep on the sofa. But don’t you dare speak to me unless your going to apologise for being a absolute prick.” Throwing the pillow down on the sofa, I went to the wardrobe pulling out the spare duvet, throwing that on the sofa also.
“What- why you sleeping on the sofa…”
“That doesn’t sound like an apology.” With a loud huff he disappeared once again.
When I turned around Lando had retreated back to the bathroom. It’s strange, lecturing someone tires you out, I flopped back onto the sofa, sighing to myself. Was I too harsh…? Yeah- maybe I should apologise…
Before I even thought about what to say I had dozed back off again, not even wanting to face Lando truthfully right now, I’ll only say more things I don’t mean.
“Baby…” rocking me gently, I was woken from my slumber. It was pitch black, I just about made out Lando’s face.
“You awake…?” Even though it was just us two, he still whispered. Humming in response, I rolled over facing the back of the sofa.
“I’m sorry…” pressing a delicate kiss to my shoulder, rubbing it gently, he then leant his head against my back. “I’m sorry for taking my anger out on you… your right about absolutely everything.” Followed by another soft kiss to my shoulder.
“Even about the car being shit??…” smiling to myself, I turned back over slowly, wrapping an arm around his neck, playing with the back of his hair.
“That’s the reason I’m so annoyed-” slowly he squeezed himself on the sofa, pulling me half on-top of him. “Your right- I should man up and tell them, not just keep allowing them to fuck up…” brushing my hand over his cheek, I laid my head on his shoulder listening to him vent.
“I just have had enough… I’ve had enough of feeling like a failure every race- because the cars so terrible…” sighing, he fiddled with my hand. “I love you- and that scares me…” smiling wide, I moved his head turning it towards me.
“You love me?”
“So fucking much.” Pulling him in slowly, I placed a gentle kiss to his lips. “Your not a failure, your absolutely wonderful…” a small smile crept on his face at my compliment.
“Your going to tell them what you really think about that car, your also going to give it your all the rest of this season, because you don’t give up.”
“Your also going to start understanding, I’m on your side always… no matter what, I’m battling from your corner. Because I love you, always have and always will.”
Smiling at me, he pulled me down slowly brushing his lips against mine, “does this mean I get some lovin’?” Laughing, I smacked his chest climbing over him standing up.
“You really are lucky I love you.”
“I know I bless myself everyday.” Standing up he placed his hands on my waist kissing me again.
“I’m sorry.”
“I know.”

The walk home seemed longer tonight. Maybe it was because of the sheer exhaustion from not sleeping in almost days, or maybe it was just from the horrible day you had.
The vision of the woman with the fresh bite on her leg plagued your mind.
Her sobbing baby next to her made matters even worse.
The tourniquet didn’t work. The infection spread too fast. The woman didn’t even know she was bitten for days. How could you not notice an open wound on your leg?
How could Tommy had let someone into the compound who was clearly not well?
You shook your head as you fumbled through your keys to get the right one. It was silent. The crickets were even gone, nothing else moved except the flickering light on your porch.
Joel had to fix that one of these days.
The old door creaked open. The only light left on was the lamp Joel would leave on for you when nights like this would occur.
What time was it now- after 11? He would most definitely be asleep.
You kicked your boots to their place and set down your bag. Angry with the state of your scrubs, you began peeling your coat off and leaving it on the floor.
The stairs creaked slightly as you made your way up them. You pulled at your socks that clung to your feet. The bedroom door was left slightly ajar, you could see the lamp light peering through the crack.
Pushing the door slightly open, you found Joel propped up in bed with a book.
“Your still awake?” you asked, immediately taking the top of your scrubs off.
“You know I can’t fall asleep without you,” he said, a harmless dig at your absence lately.
You genuinely felt bad for being gone. It wasn’t your intention to work a double at the hospital wing and then have 3 people come in with all very serious problems.
“I’m sorry,” you sighed, opening your drawer and searching for a comfy shirt.
Joel raised his brows in concern. Your tone was off. “Everything alright?” he asked, folding the corner of his page and slowly placing the book next to him.
Ignoring the question that would most definitely bring tears to your eyes if you answered, you changed into some of Joel’s old flannel pants that were two sizes too big.
You turned to the mirror in your bathroom, staring blankly at your toothbrush.
“Y/N?” he asked, the bed creaking as he sat on the edge. “Please don’t,” you whispered from the bathroom, finding the courage to turn on the water to brush your teeth.
Looking up from spitting out your toothpaste, you found him standing adjacent of you with a worried look on his face. Your eyes looked tired and he knew you had an awful day. Joel knew there was definitely a story behind that face causing your mood.
The stress of the day always seemed to fizzle out when you were around him.
“Come here,” he says, accepting your embrace. The tiny sniffles you gave broke his heart. He held you close to his chest. One hand rested on your head, another arm wrapped around your back.
“It wasn’t supposed to happen. She could have lived,” you choked out. “Mhm, I know baby. Let it out.” he sighed.
Joel didn’t have to know the story to understand what was happening. He felt the energy coming off of you. It was bad.
“Everything will be okay.” he whispered, kissing the top of your head. “Let’s get to bed now, hm? We both could use some sleep.” he said, placing his hand on your waist and walking with you towards the bed.
You anxiously sat at the edge of your bed as Joel turned off the hallway lights. He hated the look on your face when he returned. Zoned out, you stared at the tiny photo on the dresser of him and Sarah. His large body broke your trance, engulfing you in another hug. “Everything’s going to be alright. Stop lookin’ so pitiful,”
Your hands grabbed his hips and drew him closer. The scent of pine filled your nose. He had been on patrol earlier that day you assumed. His hand carefully rested on your head, stroking your hair. Your forehead sat against his stomach. Joel’s stomach gargled, causing you to let out a brief laugh.
“Get in,” he said playfully, tipping your shoulder back as you fell into bed.
“Gassy,” you whispered, bringing your eyes up to match his. He was standing over you, your knees in between his legs.
“What did you say now?” he asked, smirk on his face. His large frame fell over yours. You yelped as he caught himself with his forearms next to your body.
“Watch it,” he whispered in your ear. He showered your face in kisses as you squirmed. Using his body as a catapult, you forced yourself out under him. Finally free.
You scooted over to your side of the bed and curled into the smallest ball you could. Joel knew exactly what you wanted.
He pulled up the sheet quickly with a snap, and let it fall over you slowly. He knew you loved this.
“Pillows good?” he asked. You nodded, a small smile appearing on your face. “You need anything else while I’m up?”
“No. But thank you.”
He climbed slowly in next to you. Joel clicked off the lamp and moved in right next to you. It was almost as your body was fit to compliment his. You two matched perfectly.
“We can talk about it in the mornin’ if you’d like.” he offered. He felt your head nod against his chest.
“Goodnight darlin’,” he said, wrapping an arm around you. “I’m sorry today didn’t go well. Tomorrow will be good, I’ll make sure of it. We can make a day of it,”
A sigh of relief came from you. He always made things better. He was right. Tomorrow would be a better day.

Notes: Hope you guys are happy. I had to watch the Footloose remake to do this fic. The remake. It’s...not good.
Anyway, first footloose fic! Yay! I hope you like even if it’s ridiculously short.
Tumblr media
When you agreed to move down to Bomont with your brother, you didn’t think it would be as shitty as it was.
You’d already lost your mom, you didn’t need the rest of the joy in your life sucked out, but apparently the town was looking to do just that.
No music? No dancing? Are you kidding? Isn’t that against the first amendment or something?
Apparently not, as it seemed this rinky-dink town hadn’t changed its views since the ‘80s.
You worked as a waitress at Starlite and Ren was stuck in a cotton gin. The school hated Ren’s guts and didn’t take too kindly to your “explicit and vulgar display” of band t-shirts. Plus that plus prissy little Ariel Moore made you wanna hurl, even if Ren was infatuated with her for some god-knows reason.
It wasn’t all bad. You helped Ren fix up the yellow bug and he drove you to school every day, not that you had another choice besides maybe walking.
And there was also Willard. The ray of sunshine through the cloud of darkness in all his southern glory.
You guys met him the first day of school and the three of you meshed right away. You told him when Ren was bullshitting him and he explained what all of his crazy phrases meant.
You weren’t sure you were into him “like that” yet, but you’d heard Ren smack him upside the head for commenting on your looks once, which told you enough.
And, lucky for you, Woody’s uncle, Claude, was a pretty rebellious boss.
“Hey, Woody!” Claude said. “Check the door man. Cop still here?”
Ren and you exchanged a glance as Woody went over to the window to watch the cop pull away.
“Five-O getting his move on,” Woody reported. “Whatcha got for me, Uncle Claude?”
Claude reached down below the counter and pulled up a burner CD. “David Banner, bootleg. Don’t get too krunk out there. First sign of the police, I’m gonna pull the plug. I don’t want a fine and you don’t want another ticket.”
“Wait,” Ren said. “You got a ticket for dancing?”
“He got two tickets for dancing,” Woody’s girlfriend answered. “One more and he’s off the team.”
You followed Claude to the back where he had a record player that doubled as a CD player. Your mouth dropped open in awe.
“All right, let’s get this party started,” Claude said.
He flipped some switches that turned on the outside speakers and turned back to you.
“Now, I know you’re new here so I’ll let you go watch this one time,” he said. “But don’t expect me to let you off work just to dance.”
You grinned widely before practically tearing off your apron to follow Ren, Rusty, and Willard outside.
The speakers were like old drive-in speakers that blared in the parking lot and you watched in awe as the previously perceived boring small-town kids danced better than you could.
“Yeah, dude, they- they get into it,” Willard said.
"Hey, you,” a girl said to Ren. “Come on, let’s dance.”
She pulled him out onto the floor and you watched gleefully as he busted a move.
“You dance, Willard?” You asked.
He blushed a little, shaking his head. “Oh, no, no way.”
“Why not?”
He shrugged. “I don’t dance.”
You rolled your eyes.
“Me and my boys are going to push everybody back,” Woody said to Ren over the music, pulling his leather jacket right off his shoulders. “Let me see you and your sister do your city slicker thing.”
Ren jogged over to usher you in with him and you happily obliged.
“Number 24,” Ren said and you nodded.
You both fell into a dance you’d choreographed together back in Boston, moving easily to the beat and doing your “city slicker thing.”
You shared a quick glance, a silent communication, before you both ran up and backflipped off the edge of a blue pickup sitting on the edge of the dance area.
The crowd cheered.
You laughed, falling into freestyle mode with the others as Ren walked over to dance by Ariel (who looked eager to receive the basically lap dance he was offering).
You felt alive for the first time since your mom. You missed dancing.
That was until you spotted Ariel and Ren grinding on each other shamelessly.
“Oh, gross,” you said, turning away and spotting Willard, who was already looking at you.
You flicked your head, gesturing for him to come join you.
He just shook his head and saluted you with his coke cup.
You sighed and walked over to where he was gathered with Woody, his girlfriend, and Rusty.
“Mind if I have a sip of that?” You asked Willard.
“Oh, uh, sure,” he replied, handing you his cup. “That was some pretty good dancing out there.”
“How would you know, you don’t dance,” you joked.
“I got two eyes, don’t I?” He asked, grinning right back at you.
You two were leaned so close you felt his breath on your face. It made your stomach flutter.
“Y/N, I was wondering-”
“You can put on a show for that guy, but that doesn’t mean I’m gonna.”
You both looked over to find Ren walking up to the group.
You and Willard leaned away from each other.
Ren’s jaw was so tight you thought he might crack his teeth.
“That guy block your boner?” You joked, referencing a joke Willard made a few days ago.
“Shut up,” he replied, shoving your head away jokingly.
Suddenly, the music cut out and Claude came over the loud speaker. “Attention, Attention. Ariel Moore, will you please come up to the front of the diner, your daddy is here for you.”
The crowd sniggered and laughed as “daddy’s girl” stomped her way up to the diner.
“Show’s over,” she said as she passed your group.
Your face contorted.
“Daddy’s gonna take her out to the woodshed,” Willard said.
“What the hell does that mean?”
“It means she’s in deep shit.”
You bit your lip to keep from laughing.
“Come on, loverboy,” you said, shoving your brother. “Let’s get home before we get picked up by the law at ten o’ one. Oh, and Willard,”
The boy in questioned looked up at you.
“We can finish our conversation tomorrow, okay?”
He smiled. “Yeah, alright,”
You grinned back and turned away from him.
Ren’s eyes narrowed at you. “What was that all about?”
You shrugged. “Nothing. Willard and I were having a conversation while you were feeling up the preacher’s daughter.”
“I was not feeling her up,”
“Oh, please, Ren, the whole parking lot could tell,” You replied, sipping the last of Willard’s drink you’d never given back. “You’re practically throwing yourself at her.”
“I was just dancing,” Ren retorted, pulling open the door to the bug.
“Funny, you never dance like that with me.”
“That’s because-” Ren huffed dramatically. “You know what, this conversation’s over.”
“Oh, I’m sure it is,” you replied, getting in the passenger side. “Can I pick the music?”
“Can you ever pick the music?”
“No?”
“There’s your answer.”
You rolled your eyes as Ren picked “dancing in the dark” by Bruce Springsteen for the ride home.
You turned to look out the window, noticing Willard in the rearview talking to Woody.
You smiled. This town might suck, but Willard makes it more bearable.

Just Like Magic pt. 2
Fandom: Jujutsu Kaisen
Pairing: Viscount!Choso x Maid/Reader
Warning: N/A
MASTERLIST
A/N: Some of you may have read this before, I just had to make a few changes in narrative and now I feel it is ready. Part 2 is here and Part 3 is coming soon. Thanks and I hope you enjoy. Let me know what you think! Follow, comment or reblog, IDC because I enjoy writing this fic. Please pay attention before reading.
Tumblr media
(Y/N) was always an early riser as she dragged herself out of the luxurious bed sheets, straight away fixing them to make it seem like no one had slept there before sauntering over to the windows to pull open the curtains. The scenery outside was idyllic as she stared at the lush green trees shrouded under clouds. Her fingers mindlessly brushed the knots and tangles in her hair, smoothing it so it was straight and neat.
She fucked up but she may be able to recover from this. In the original story, the reader fell into a shock coma and dreamt the rest of her life with Choso. It was a shitty twist and (Y/N) wasn't weak willed. She was going to make the most of it. In the last three years, her heart somehow hardened and she built up her endurance to become stronger. She would overcome the shock.
She needed to talk to Choso, not too sure what exactly. But she needed to speak to Toge. At least tell him the circumstances have changed. Just so later on, down the line Toge wouldn't be so outraged by her sudden marriage. There was a soft knock on the door as (Y/N) shifted away from the window to answer who was at the door.
It was Nanami and a young woman with short orange hair, dressed in a black dress and white apron. Nanami seemed tired as usual as (Y/N) let the both of them enter the room. (Y/N) recognised the young woman but kept quiet to get a better explanation. Nanami gestured at the woman to begin introducing when his eyes accidentally caught (Y/N)'s nightwear. Red blush spread across his cheeks as he turned around, speaking with a choked voice.
"Lady Itadori, you seem to be missing your robe."
(Y/N) glanced down to notice that she was wearing a sheer silk nightgown that was showing a shadow of her body. The young woman rushed forward and helped (Y/N) slip into the robe that was hanging on a chair.
"Apologies, Nanami. You can look now."
He turned around, feeling a little relieved and embarrassed about the situation. However it wasn't the worst thing he had seen. He cleared his throat and spoke clearly.
"My apologies. This is Nobara. She will be your maid. I assume you are familiar with what her role is."
(Y/N) gave a nod and smiled at the young woman. Nobara was a fun character and she could completely trust her.
"It's nice to meet you Nobara."
"You too, My Lady."
"Please call me (Y/N)."
Nobara was horrified as she shook her head and waved her hands frantically. How could she dare address her Lady without her title? She wasn't worthy to be on a first name basis with her.
"I cannot."
Nanami rolled his eyes, and interjected between the two women.
"My Lady you will have to get used to this. You are the wife of Viscount Itadori Choso of Kaprines. A noble."
"Oh right. My apologies."
There was a brief pause in the air as (Y/N) let his words sink in. Nanami cleared his throat and switched to more important matters.
“Now, Nobara and I will show you around the estate and discuss your duties as the Lady of the Household. Do you have any questions?”
“Yes. Before we proceed with that, I want to talk to Viscount Itadori.”
Nanami had an apprehensive expression on his face, almost wishing that she didn’t ask for that request. Viscount Itadori seemed miserable this morning which was a counter to his usual calm manner. (Y/N) noticed this expression as she tried to rectify this.
“I’m sorry but -”
Before she could finish that sentence, there was a harsh rapid knock on the door, followed by a young maid with a grey dress. She gave a quick bow to (Y/N) and then turned around to quickly inform Nanami.
“Apologies. Nanami, Viscount Itadori is asking for you to help him prepare. He’s been summoned to hunt for monsters that are terrorising the villages in the north. He intends to leave now.”
Nanami gave a firm nod and dismissed the maid, turning to Lady Itadori and bowing with apology.
“Forgive me, my Lady but I must attend the Viscount. Nobara will guide you.”
At that Nanami strode out of the room and rushed away to Viscount Itadori’s room. (Y/N) was also about to follow when Nobara pulled at her arm to warn her.
“My Lady! You can’t go out looking like that! Put a dress on!”
(Y/N) was surprised by the casual tone in Nobara’s voice as she furrowed her eyebrows to look at her maid. Nobara rolled her eyes and let go of her hand before casually sauntering to the wardrobe to pick a dress out for (Y/N). A minute or so later, Nobara had pulled out a simple green dress with a bright yellow cord going across the hem, sleeves and folds of the dress.
“This dress is good. It’s quick to get into, can go on top of the night dress and it won’t drag on the ground if you want to go see Viscount Itadori.”
A gentle smile made its way to (Y/N)’s face, glad that Nobara understood what she needed. She gave a haphazard nod before taking off her nightgown’s robe, using Nobara’s help to get into the dress. Nobara pulled it up over the shoulders roughly before yanking the strings tight to tie up the back. Lady Itadori was ready except for her feet as Nobara went to the wardrobe one more time to grab a black pair of cloth pattens.
As soon as Nobara slipped the shoes on, (Y/N) shoved the door open and rushed out to try to catch her husband. Nobara rolled her eyes and grabbed a red woollen shawl from the wardrobe before chasing after (Y/N). She was a quick person as Nobara darted down the hallway just to catch a brief glimpse of (Y/N).
(Y/N) was passing through the hallways before entering a foyer. She rushed down and pushed the front door open to see several groups of men on horseback. All dressed in metal armour, save for their heads. There seemed to be at least forty men as (Y/N) shrank into herself. It was definitely an intimidating sight as she tried to peek around for a familiar face.
Fortunately for her, she was able to find Captain Tsukumo as she stepped down before calmly walking towards the tall woman. She was steely focused at inspecting the carriages that were prepared to carry their tents and food for a whole five months. It was never easy to pack at the last minute.
"Captain Tsukumo!"
Hearing her name, Tsukumo turned around to see the Lady of the house approaching her as she gave a quick bow.
"My Lady. What can I do for you?"
"Do you happen to know where Viscount Itadori is?"
"Last I saw him, was in his study for the briefing. I haven't seen him since."
(Y/N) huffed frantically as she thanked Tsukumo, then stomping away to look for the other Captain, Nanami, Yuuji or Viscount Itadori himself. Nobara had just reached Tsukumo and muttered angrily to herself as she followed the Lady.
All the knights were perplexed by the new Lady of the house, stomping around looking for her husband. She managed to spot Captain Fushiguro, who was tending to a horse.
"Captain Fushiguro!"
Fushiguro bowed lowly to (Y/N) as she stopped in front of him. She was breathing heavily and shivering as Fushiguro quirked a single eyebrow upwards.
"Lady Itadori, you shouldn't be running in this frosty weather."
He took the shawl off his horse and stepped closer to Lady Itadori, bringing the shawl around her shoulders and tugging it close so that she could grasp the closed ends. She didn't think much of it as she rasped out.
"Don't worry about me, Captain. Have you seen Viscount Itadori? I need to urgently talk to him."
"Lady Itadori!"
Fushiguro and (Y/N) pivoted to the direction of the loud call which came from Nobara. She held a red woolly shawl as she trudged over and wrapped herself in it, grumbling nonsense. A soft inaudible scoff left Fushiguro's lips as he smirked.
"Don't worry, I took care of your Lady."
Nobara squinted aggressively at the Captain's gesture. Fushiguro grinned smugly before he returned to (Y/N) to answer her question.
"I haven't seen Viscount Itadori since the briefing."
At that moment, a loud trumpet sounded as the entire courtyard turned to the knight that sat atop a chestnut coloured horse. It was Viscount Itadori, dressed in a black gilded armour with silver embellishments across the edge and chest. The horse trudged through the crowd and made its way over to Captain Fushiguro.
"Captain, are we ready to depart?"
"Yes my Lord. All accounted for … except for your brother"
Choso rolled his eyes before he took notice of (Y/N) and her maid wrapped up in shawls. He frowned at the fact that (Y/N) was out here and probably looking for him. He didn't want to talk to her. He wasn't ready as he returned his gaze back to Fushiguro.
"I can't afford to wait for him any longer. We will head out first and tell him, he can come with Megumi once he's healed up."
Fushiguro bowed as he walked towards the troops to inform them of their new orders. Nanami came up to Choso to hand over the helmet of his armour.
"Viscount Itadori?"
Her husband ignored her plea as he turned to Nanami with a firm tone in his voice.
"Please take her inside and explain to her everything I explained to you. I must head out now."
With no final glance back at (Y/N), Choso flicked his reins so his horse began to trot to the front of the men, to begin leading them to their military hunt. (Y/N) felt her heart break a little as she watched her husband leave without a glance and regard for her.
In the original, the shock of rejection had cemented so strongly that the original reader fell into a coma and only woke up when she heard the news about her husband's death. (Y/N) was not weak to be weighed down by rejection, she had been forced to go through a lot in the last three years and it had toughened her skin.
(Y/N) stood tall and firm, watching as Choso was riding away until he became a small blimp in the horizon. Nobara carefully brought her hands to the Lady's shoulders to coax her back to the palace. Fushiguro clambered onto his horse and trotted over to the Lady, Nanami and Nobara. He had a warm gentle expression as he spoke.
"My Lady, I'll try to send a raven to keep you informed about our hunt. We should be back soon, safe and sound."
"Thank you Captain."
"Call me Toji, my Lady."
"Toji."
(Y/N)'s heart warmed at his kind gesture. Toji gave a confident smile as his eyes glanced over at the Lady. His eyes went towards Nobara as he smirked playfully at her.
"Please keep Lady Itadori safe."
Nobara scoffed as she folded her arms, almost knowing his intentions from his words spoken to her Lady.
"Don't worry, Captain. I'll keep her safe. You should worry more about yourself."
"I will, Miss."
With that said, Fushiguro guided his horse to turn and gallop after the men. The courtyard was now empty now as (Y/N) exhaled a deep breath she didn’t know she was holding. She needed to make the most of her time at the palace, to convince Choso that she was worthy of keeping.
She followed Nobara and Nanami up the stairs only to come across a familiar lanky figure that leaned on the door frame. Yuuji had a proud grin as he gave a quick bow to (Y/N).
"My Lady."
"Yuuji! Weren't you supposed to go with them?"
"And suffer from Big Bro's foul mood for months on end? No thanks. I'm better off being here to help you, my Lady."
Nanami frowned with his folded arms and raised eyebrows.
"How exactly are you helping Lady Itadori?"
"I'm gonna help her win Choso's heart of course."
"With magic?"
"Of course not! That is deceitful and I would never do that."
Nanami shook his head with a grimace as he held an arm out to lead (Y/N) in.
"I apologise, my Lady but don't listen to his words. He will make you drink a potion without telling you the effects."
They began walking inside the hall as Yuuji skipped after them, feeling rather offended by Nanami's insinuations. Nobara and (Y/N) were listening with amusement.
"When are you going to let that go, Nanami?! It was one time."
"It shouldn't have even been one time. It was humiliating in front of Lord Gakuganji and Lady Utahime of Macia. I felt like a fool jester."
"It was very good dancing."
"She almost would have killed me because she assumed that I was trying to seduce her."
(Y/N) and Nobara pursed their lips to refrain from laughing aloud whilst Nanami pinched his eyes at the embarrassment of having to recollect that memory. Yuuji had a grin of confidence as he slapped Nanami’s back.
“Come on! I thought it would help you seem less sleepy in front of them.”
Yuuji quietened down at the dangerous glare that Nanami was giving him. He decides to slide back and walk quietly alongside Lady Itadori. There was a moment of peace before Yuuji opened his mouth.
"Where exactly are we going?"
"To the spare study to teach the Lady about the house."
"Without breakfast?"
Nanami halted to a stop as his face flushed with apprehension. He had completely forgotten about that as he slowly turned with a bow.
"My apologies, my Lady. I had forgotten to ask you about breakfast."
(Y/N) shook her face as waved her hand nonchalantly. She didn't always have breakfast so it didn't matter.
"It's okay, Nanami. I can survive without breakfast."
"But Viscount Itadori will be angry if I haven't appropriately catered to you. You must hold on in the study whilst I go get your breakfast."
"Nanami! Don't worry. Please don't bother to make a big breakfast. Nobara, can you please bring three slices of toast with honey on top and some tea please?"
“Yeah Nobara, get me a whole plate of eggs and bacon!"
Nobara gave a nod to her Lady, whilst sending a glare to Yuuji before she strayed away from them to the kitchen.
"She'll bring our breakfast whilst we study.”
Nanami acquiesced and they continued on. They came across a tall door which fit the palace's aesthetic. All of them came across a wall of bookshelves, a desk and a small table accompanied by wine coloured loungers. It was a simple elegantly decorated study as Nanami guided (Y/N) to sit down at her desk. He went towards the bookshelf and grabbed a few books off it before placing them on the table, in front of (Y/N). Yuuji plopped himself onto the loungers as he watched (Y/N) with a bored expression. Her face paled as Nanami began to explain.
"This will be your study, my Lady. Viscount Itadori has asked me to educate you in noble matters. These two books are the ledgers that Viscount Itadori has kept regarding the upkeep cost of the house, taxes, employee salaries and other expenses.
"Viscount Itadori is fairly new to the noble society, only recently was he given the title as a Viscount. Hence he only wrote two years of ledgers. The other Lords of Kaprines have their ledgers here as well and they date back eighty years."
(Y/N) could not keep up with Nanami's words as she glanced over at Yuuji. That man was snoozing peacefully through the droning and after what seemed to be a good forty minutes there was a knock on the door. Nobara pushed the door open, wheeling in two breakfast trays, one with buttered toast, honey and tea, the other with eggs, bacon and toast, accompanied by a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.
Yuuji sprung up happily and took a seat opposite to (Y/N), ready to feast on his breakfast.
"Finally! Thank you Nobara."
Nobara rolled her eyes and set the trays in front of (Y/N) and Yuuji. She elbowed Nanami with a teasing tone.
"Did you bore them by droning about finances?"
"No, Lady Itadori was thoroughly engaged through our conversation, right?"
(Y/N) quietly sipped her tea as a way to abstain from answering Nanami. The tea was silky and smooth going down her throat with hints of chamomile mixed in. The toast seemed to be from freshly baked bread and fresh honey. It was the best breakfast she's had in a long time.
She was going to be the best Lady of the region, let alone the house and then maybe his wife. She's not only read fanfics, but historical manhwas as well so she knows how to play the game. Inumaki/Itadori (Y/N) was going to be the best main character there ever was.
Although a lot of what's happening now is completely new and she was out of her depth in knowledge. So she didn't have the best idea of what would happen next. She was going to need everyone's help to adapt and adjust.
"Lady Itadori?"
"Oh! Were you saying something? I'm so sorry, I was lost in thought."
Yuuji waved a hand to brush off her apology as straightened his posture.
"What I was trying to say to Nanami is that you aren't a member of the house of Kaprines until you have your own raven."
"Raven?"
Nanami gave a nod and began to explain.
"Yes. Ravens are the official animal of the House as well as our message carriers. The important members of the house have a raven, currently they are Viscount Itadori, Captains Tsukumo, Fushiguro, one of the knights, Megumi, and myself."
Yuuji clears his throat as Nanami rolls his eyes.
"And mage master Yuuji."
"Miwa takes care of the ravens, you'll like her. We should go pick out a raven for you and Miss Nobara as well!"
This was new. She did remember briefly seeing a raven on Choso's shawl but she couldn't focus on its significance at the time. (Y/N) turned towards Nanami as if to ask him if it was okay. He gave a gentle warm smile which assured her. She gave a nod and stood up to follow Yuuji through the hallway and through the saloon which led to the gardens of the palace. It was still a little frosty as the clouds swirled with a dull white colour.
A few yards away, there is a large glass greenhouse which has an open window to allow ravens to come and go. Yuuji led them up to the doors and pushed them wide to unveil lush trees. There was a small water fountain to the right and to the left was a desk of odd bits of junk.
It was amazing as (Y/N) held her breath at the setting as well as the occupants, the ravens. All were different ages and sizes, flying around and croaking. Yuuji strutted in, with his arms spread introducing the women to the birds.
"Welcome Lady Itadori and Nobara to the Unkindness Sanctuary."
(Y/N) frowned at the name as she walked into the glance at the ravens.
"Why unkindness?"
Nanami rolled his eyes and stepped forward to explain better.
"Because a group of ravens are known as 'unkindness'."
Yuuji laughed as he held his palm out for a raven to perch on it.
"I heard this from a fellow scientist and I just had to use it."
"You're the only one who uses that name. The actual name is The Kaprine Raven Sanctuary."
Everyone turned to the right to see a blue haired girl, dressed in black trousers and a black button shirt. She had one glove and a kind smile as she walked up to (Y/N), curtsying before introducing herself.
"My name is Miwa. I take care of the ravens here."
The raven that was hanging near Yuuji, flew away to stand on the palm of Miwa's hand. She was a new character being introduced but (Y/N) was going to love this girl.
"I'm sure you have many questions as to why the House has chosen a raven?"
(Y/N) gave a kind nod as she stood closer to Miwa to stroke the raven perched on her palm. It was certainly fascinating as ravens were commonly known to be harbingers of death and misery. She's aware of the superstitions around the birds.
"It is true that locals often symbolised these birds as figures of death and despair, choosing to avoid the sights of these birds, however they seem to underestimate how intelligent these birds are.
"They are capable of communication, being able to solve puzzles and come up with solutions. Not only that, but they have been known to mimic human voices.
"The first Lord of the house intended to use the raven as a way to establish themselves as a symbol of misery. However over the years, the different Lords began to notice the potential these birds have in carrying out tasks.
"Only twenty years ago, the Lord of Kaprines opened up this sanctuary as a way to nurture, train and breed ravens. My family have been taking care of the ravens since the sanctuary opened."
"And two years ago, I gave the name 'unkindness'. Hopefully it sticks!"
"Hopefully it doesn't."
Yuuji glared at Nobara, who simply rolled her eyes before looking around at the ravens.
"So how exactly do you choose your raven?"
Miwa shrugged before letting the raven on her palm fly away.
"Depends on which one looks good to you. Yuuji and Nanami, you help Nobara find her raven and I'll help Lady Itadori."
Everyone then split off into their assigned pairs as Miwa and (Y/N) strolled around the greenhouse. All their little beady eyes watched their movements as Miwa introduced a few birds to her.
"This is Max. He's a strong protective raven that can fight a squirrel."
"Can he actually?"
"Well I haven't seen it but apparently he fought one. This is Claude, a brooding raven who'll do what you want as long as you give him a snack. And this is Arsene. He is tempermental and deadly. I wouldn't recommend having him."
Arsene croaked loudly at Miwa's comment which made her jump behind (Y/N) and yelp. (Y/N) held back a laugh as she watched the bird carer begin an argument.
"What? It's true! You almost hit Regina in the beak yesterday. - what do you mean you were play-fighting?"
(Y/N) noticed a lone raven sitting on a branch, looking wistfully out at the gardens and hills behind the glass. She came closer to inspect the bird, moving carefully so as not to disturb it. The raven pivoted its head back as if knowing (Y/N) was there before flying down to stand in front of her.
Its eyes had a gentle fascination which drew her in, she crouched and brought a finger to scratch at his neck. It gave a soft croak and leaned in to accept her tender affection, this brought a smile to her face as she sat down, crossing her legs before bringing the bird onto her lap.
"That's Zachary. One of the soft hearted ravens that is loyal, caring and strong. One of the best choices actually."
(Y/N) lifted Zachary up to connect eye to eye with him as she instantly fell in love. She knew this raven would be there for her as she smiled at the bird. Miwa reached into her pocket and presented a ring and a bracelet to the two of them.
"If you are happy with Zachary, put this ring on your finger and put the bracelet around his neck so that this connects you together."
(Y/N) did as she instructed before turning to Zachary to introduce herself.
"Hi Zachary, I'm (Y/N)."
"Hello my Lady."
(Y/N) jumped at the sudden deep voice that came from Zachary. There is no way that ravens can actually mimic humans to the point that they can speak fluently. It was impossible as she gave Miwa a close to accusatory look.
"I thought you said they could mimic human voices."
Miwa nervously laughed before apologising.
"I did and they can. I'm sorry I should have been clearer. Yuuji charmed the ring and bracelet to establish and strengthen the communicative telepathic link."
(Y/N) gave a slow nod as she referenced the argument she had with the bird Arsene.
"Wait, so you actually understood what Arsene was saying?"
"Of course! The ravens are bred with magic to help them communicate like us. However the bracelet and ring enhance the communication link with the raven you have chosen as a companion. Essentially to a point where you could telepathically communicate across a large distance. Although that has never been tested."
That brought a smile to her face as Zachary took a perch on her shoulder. She learnt a lot as she gave a low curtsy to Miwa.
"I see. Well thank you Miwa for helping me find my raven and teaching me about them."
"You're welcome, my Lady. Should we go see Nobara?"
She gave a nod as the three of them began to head over to Nanami, Yuuji and Nobara. Nobara had an angry expression as she furrowed her eyebrows at Yuuji.
"You said they could mimic human voices. You failed to mention that they were capable of holding a conversation."
"Oh dear indeed! How could I have overstepped that important detail?"
(Y/N) rolled her eyes and linked her arm with Nobara's.
"Don't worry! You get used to it."
"Are you serious, my Lady? There is no way I can get used to this."
(Y/N) led Nobara away to look at other ravens, followed by Miwa who was continuously introducing the different ravens around them. Nanami watched them happily, whereas Yuuji stepped up to Nanami with an apprehensive expression.
"Are you sure this is a good idea, Nanami?"
Nanami pursed his lips as if he was unsure about what Yuuji was referring to.
"What is?"
"Keeping Lady Itadori here when Choso asked you to send her away."
Nanami's jaw ticked, not surprised at the fact that Yuuji knew this order. Yuuji was lingering outside the doors after the briefing, he probably overheard the conversation. The mage could tell that this struck a nerve as he spoke tentatively.
"I'm not doubting you. I'm concerned about your wellbeing."
"I appreciate that, Yuuji. I'm sure about keeping the Lady here. Your brother hasn't thought clearly with his head."
Yuuji gave a nod as he gave a gentle pat to his shoulder.
"I understand. I will support you with this and inform the others to do the same."
A calm silence settled between them as they watched Lady Itadori and Nobara look around at the ravens.

Hello!
I've been nervously hovering around your blog as you've always been a level source of info.
As of late it seems as though many people don't seem to quite grasp how different US laws can be for POC. The laws weren't made with us in mind, in fact its extremely common for laws to be thrown at us or twisted against us at all fronts when the other effected party is Anglo.
It's very easy to look at laws and assume the country they preside over would respect them entirely. But for POC that's not the case. This place isn't safe for us. It's corrupt In many ways so it's extremely important for us to be extremely careful with every step. Or we are killed. There is no other way to express the type of danger we face simply for being POC.
I am Mexican, I know that it looks bad that Q has been very silent on many fronts. But speaking even an apology could lead to the entirety of this case being blamed on him. All of it. When the people who caused the damages were on the team and not Q himself. What's worse is that if the people who did cause the damage in the first place are Anglo and have gotten their own Lawyers... they can also be let off the hook from their crimes if Q makes apology statements.
I know its awful.
But even if he contacts those effected personally and apologized personally, there is nothing stopping those individuals from speaking online about his apologies and that being used against him. It would make everyone feel better if he genuinely could apologize without risk of letting those bad actors off the hook. But here in the states it's stacked against those who bend at the knee first. Kindness will get you killed. We as POC cannot exist here safely. We just can't.
Its very easy to look at this whole case from an outside view, especially if you've never faced the American legal system. It's even harder to fathom how a country could have laws so clearly lined and yet disregard them simply based on your race. But it's very common here. I've had relatives lose homes, land, businesses, livelihoods, and lives over the laws out here not being kind to us. All it takes is for one Anglo voice and we are once again reminded how we are nothing. Our hands built these buildings, our sweat is in nearly every structures walls and floors. We clean, we cook, we are still regarded as rabble. Our native tongue isn't even seen as something respectable. It's dirty. It recieves glares and snide remarks.
I digress.
I know you can't quite understand how strong your voice is alone in this. Even now I must hide under this anonymous guise because I can't be Mexican in public. I can't speak my truth... so I am reaching out to you, to perhaps held shed some light on all of this.
Your voice is worth more than mine.
Thank you for all the work that you do. Truly.
Hello anon ! First of all I wanna say I’m sorry that I’ll going to write such a short answer when your ask was long and heartfelt. But as I’m neither Mexican nor from the US I don’t have much to add to what you just said. Though I am aware, at least to a certain extent how bad the xenophobia against mexicans can be over there, and I don’t wish for Quackity or anyone else to suffers the consequences of it.
Also don’t even worry about coming here as an anon, I don’t mind and your safety comes first anyway. My voice isn’t worth any more than yours is, I’m just glad if I can help share your thoughts on this situation.

Hi, Dear. I just have finished TC. Though so much underlying I cannot quite understand well for English is not my first language, I love this story!!!
But likely owing cultural differences, I don't get why Ralph so cares about Laurie's “sorry, dearie, some other time” from delirium, which I consider as only kind of banter. What's wrong with these words? Are they rude or implying someting? Hope to get this answered🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much for this ask @yitwosirui .  I think it is such a clever way of telling us so much about the characters.
I believe the short answer would be that this is definitely on the level of mild banter, not particularly offensive or rude.  But it is a rejection and a gentle put down.  So, in the context of Laurie being just a Corporal, and Ralph a Lieutenant and Captain of the ship it would be considered inappropriate because of their rank and also because of the context and the implications.  In general Laurie’s response would suggest that he thinks/or is pretending that Ralph is making sexual advances, so on that level and in those times it would be considered offensive given he is a man!  Well that’s my reading anyway!
So I think the various possibilities that really puzzle Ralph would be:
Laurie is delirious and confused and thinks Ralph is making sexual advances but doesn’t recognise him.  But he seems to be gay and sexually experienced.  Good news on one level, but then he is rejecting Ralph and doing it in an embarrassing way.
Or, all of the above but he doesn’t recognise Ralph.
Or, he recognises Ralph, understands the situation and is making an affectionate little in-joke that only Ralph will understand.
Or Laurie knows perfectly well that Ralph is trying to help him but chooses to make a bitchy and embarrassing comment, whether or not he recognises him.
Or, Laurie it not actually gay but he knows that Ralph is and is suggesting that Ralph is gay and predatory.
Reg covers everything up by making it into a joke that Laurie thought Ralph was a woman and I’m sure Ralph joked about it to his ship-mates in the same way.
So on one level, there is no real harm to Ralph – he can cover it up by saying Laurie was delirious, thought he was a prostitute, or whatever, and it is obvious to all he was not trying to sexually assault him!!  In a way the only thing that would give him away would be his own reaction.
So why does he go on about it so much?
I think he must be so desperate to find out that he forgets how intensely embarrassing the whole thing must have been for Laurie (more embarrassing than for him!)     He brings it up within minutes of meeting again.  But embarrassment is the easiest emotion he can appeal to, otherwise he would have to admit that he had feelings or that he was hurt, or wondering about Laurie’s sexuality.  So in a way he is trying to find out information while not revealing too much himself.
The other thing is that when he talks about writing to Laurie he says he ‘couldn’t be sure’ and that he wanted to ‘settle it’ – the first things that seem to motivate him are that he wasn’t sure what Laurie meant, rather than any more general feeling of ‘Wow I just saw Laurie again I must reach out!’  That feels very like Ralph, always needing to know exactly where he stands.
I don’t know if that answers the question, or makes sense!
I’m struck by how much they talk about this, but never breathe a word about what happened in the study.   Pretty intriguing!!!!
I have a couple of personal theories relating to this too:
I recently thought about the way Ralph dismisses Laurie from the study, which is very abrupt, whether he intends it or not.  And I thought in a way ‘Sorry Dearie’ is the ultimate revenge seven years later!
I see the obsession with that incident as foreshadowing how Ralph will be at the end, because I think he will be obsessed with knowing whether Laurie read his letter or not…….
Thank you so much again – I have sent you a little ask of my own!

Hii I hope youre doing well and I’m so sorry for asking and being annoying but are you gonna continue your lukadrien fics on ao3? I just found you last week and I’ve been so obsessed with untitled trash and what are the odds and I haven’t finished yet but I don’t want to I’m so close to the last update that’s been a year ago. I absolutely adore your writing and how natural their interactions feel you really got me giggling and kicking my legs up in the air from all the lukadrien fluff and I truly hope I can see more of your writing ❤️🙏🏻🥹
Ahhh!!! Thank you!!!! I'm glad you enjoy my writing! I do love writing those boys more than anything jfdksjflsa
Short answer: yes, I am still writing all my unfinished fics on ao3.
Long answer: I am always writing and do not plan on stopping. Unfortunately I write based entirely on what I want to write, so I rarely write in chronological order lol. These past weeks I've been writing up a storm but it's chapters 24-27 of wato, helpful only to future me.
I, as a person in the real world, have a lot going on. I have been told by people that maybe my fics should go on hiatus until I defend my thesis (November), but uhhhhhh they bring me so much joy I cannot do that. I am viewing this ask as an excuse to just ramble about my writing (which is the only thing I love more than writing itself):
WATO: will likely be the next to update again, simply because it's all I think about these days, and now I'm into the sappy (and smutty) stuff it's just fun. but as told above, it's a process.
Reprise: we don't talk about reprise here
Untitled: is not abandoned. It seems like it's abandoned, I get that, I was literally a different person in April 2023. I am in the process of restructuring the next chapters (and maybe finishing it???? news on that later). I just need to re-read to remember what's happening get back into the groove of that fic in order to update.
If you're New to my tumblr/don't really read my authors notes (both so valid), you may not have heard I have another story I am working on in the shadows called 'To String You Along' (tagged/referred to as 'tsya) and heyo if you like Bridgerton you're gonna like this. It's also structured and has a set (I think 19 chapters? counting the epilogue). I am posting that only when it's finished, and more so, when season three of bridgerton comes out (May/June 2024).
double bonus: wato valentine's special is officially in the works here's to hoping i get it done in time but I'm making no promises.
tldr answer; I've been writing Lukadrien for nearly five years, I'm not going away any time soon, it's a part of me now lol.

torgal is such a little cheeky pup bc i know if he had to watch clive brood himself to death over infatuation and end up crumpling like forty confession missives that were all supposed to be to u, he would just pick up the bin containing them all in his mouth and speed jog to ur room so that clive can’t realise what he did and get them to u.
big ass wolf pawing at ur door so u can open it enough for him to barrel in before clive spots where he ran off to and plonk the bin infront of u. doesn’t leave until he signals to u to read them before then trots off thinking he’s cupid incarnate
“Torgal, what is this?”
You look at the ecstatic wolf in your room, his tail wagging as he holds a garbage bin in his mouth, fit to burst with the amount of trash in it.
You give him a questioning look, to which he unceremoniously drops the bin in question and barks, leaving a mess across your floor.
“Torgal!”
“Woof!”
The floor is littered with crumpled paper, and for some reason Torgal hasn’t left yet, still wagging his tail and looking at you expectantly. You move to grab a broom but he blocks your exit, barks at you a few more times until you back away and stares at the pile.
“Torgal, come on now I have to—“
Another bark, he grabs a piece of paper and noses it towards your feet. It’s at this point you realize that whatever he wants, it has something to do with whatever’s been thrown away.
“Fine, I’ll look at the damn thing,” you grumble, and his tail wags even harder.
“Torgal!” Clive yells, running after the large hound to his best effort, but he simply cannot keep pace with such a fast creature. Exhaustion takes hold of him, his breath coming short as he makes his way to your room where he’s sure Torgal’s ran off to. He has to find Torgal soon, or else—
He finds you in your room, Torgal sat patiently by your side, and a sinking feeling sets in, followed by dread when he realizes the familiar off-white of parchment in your hand.
Maybe you haven’t read it yet, but that’s wishful thinking. Your eyes are practically glued to the letter, dozens of others just like it strewn across the room. When you finally lift your head after what seems like eons your eyes immediately lock with his. He tries to think of an excuse, anything to explain but you speak before he can even attempt such a thing.
“Clive…did you write these?”
He shakes his head no, his voice trapped in his throat, but you don’t buy it for a second.
“I’ve known you long enough to know your handwriting,” you say, waving the damning evidence in the air as you step forward. “You wrote this, didn’t you?”
A silence so loud it could deafen a man. You were not asking, you were telling, and by his lack of response he knows he’s been caught.
“I—I’m sorry—“ Clive says, unable to muster a sentence. He’s faced monsters that most people wouldn’t live to tell the tale, even gone against eikons and yet your silence strikes fear into his heart that immobilizes him, makes his heart beat like a drum in his chest.
The tiniest little smile graces your features. “Your eyes remind me of the crystal seas, your hair as soft as the finest Dhalmekian silks, your voice as gentle as the birds that sing at the first sign of dawn.”
You continue to recite the letter as Clive stands mortified. Once you’re finished you fling the paper to the wayside, attention fully on him.
“I’m guessing the other letters follow the same pattern, yeah?”
A nod, his eyes fall to the floor as your footsteps get louder and louder, close enough that he can see your legs in view.
“Clive, look at me,” you ask softly, and after a moment he obliges. He expected to see anger from you, or maybe confusion, but there is nothing of the sort. Your hand slowly reaches forward, as if to coax a scared animal, and once you’ve seen no resistance, rests itself on the heat of his cheek.
“What you said in that letter, was it true?” You ask.
“Every word.”
This is the one time that he answers without hesitation, the one thing that he is confident about. No sooner do those words pass his lips does he feel your own connect with his. First surprise, then desperation grab him tightly as he follows the taste of you, hands frozen still at your sides until you guide them towards you, where they hold you tight to him like a vice.
There’s a silk thread of spit that connects the two of you, out of breath and yet Clive still chases after you as you speak, breath fanning his face.
“I feel the same.”

Hi, Mommy! Sorry it's been a while since I've sent something in. Something has been happening and I don't know if anyone goes through the same thing?
So I go through these phases where for a short amount of time I'm a bit horny and I'm easily turned on. But that's for only a short amount of time. The rest of the time, I'm repulsed by sex and seeing the sexualization of my favorite characters makes me sad.
I've been fixated on a character that you don't write for and I follow a lot of people who write for her. Don't get me wrong, I love their writing. It's just that I cannot find fluff for this character for the life of me and tbh it leads me to believe that all she would want with me is my body and this made me stray away from her and even feel uncomfortable or scared just looking at her. And it makes me feel terrible because she's a really cool character and I've loved her for so long. Even when I'm a bit horny I don't go looking for content of her anymore.
I'm so sorry this was so long, I really needed to get this out. Thank you for reading, Mommy 💕

{Let’s Talk about Fictional Character Bonds…!}
Hi there, darling girl…!! It’s completely okay that it’s been a while since you seen something in. It’s all good ♥️ I’m very proud of you for reaching out! It’s takes a lot of courage to be vulnerable and open like you chose to be in this ask. You are so strong and such a good girl.
It’s okay and completely valid to have these phases of hyper-sexuality. And sometimes there’s also phases of not having the capacity to deal with sex and sex related things. If you think it’s an issue or if you don’t like living your life in this way, then I would recommend you see a professional therapist/psychologist about it. They can help you properly work through any feelings or experiences that need to be processed.
It’s normal to be fixated and resonate with a character. Your feelings and experiences are valid. I’m sorry to hear that you can’t find the content you are looking for on the character. I would recommend you lay off the smut and angst for this character, as it seems to be affecting you negatively. If you can’t find the fluff, you can always request it or write it yourself ♥️. Or maybe even just take a break from all fanfiction from that character. The way the fics claim to be affecting you is not healthy.
Tumblr media
Your question— Do others go through the same thing you’ve described?
I cannot speak for others in this regard, only for myself. I have not experienced exactly what you’ve described, but I have had similar experiences. I understand the connection and fixations on certain characters. I understand the longing for the presence and comfort of that character. And I understand the sometimes twisted nature of a characters portrayal. This is all valid.
As I’ve been through similar things, I would assume that what you’re describing is something others have gone through as well. I would recommend you ask a few more people if you’re interested in getting a more well rounded answer.
Tumblr media
I hope this was informative. Don’t hesitate to reach out again soon! I hope you have a lovely day/night!! 💞💞💞

6, 11, 22 from this ask game
ohohoo thanks for the ask!!! this was harder than i thought it would be. also heads up, the snippets are very unpolished and like 1st draft things. i hope you like them anyway!! <3
6 . that i struggled with, but triumphed over my bachelor's essay lol okay let's see what i've got… ajaskhfa there are so many things i am struggling with right now to be honest ghh. and am yet to triumph over. hmmm. okay i thought about this very hard. but i cannot think of anything to fit this category jafkjsf. i only have things i'm currently struggling with ;_; upon more reflection i would like to nominate this answer as this one ajfaksdfjaskfjn. not a very good answer i know but. it's truthful at least! i was considering maybe taking part in a wip wednesday to maybe work on some of the ones i'm really struggling with, but we'll see!
11 . with characters i want to write more in the future hmm two choices… I'll go with the TOH thing! okay i chose this one specifically because i've got a WIP with both of them, this one, or the hypothetical toh fic as i like to call it (because i had/have my doubts about if i ever actually manage to write it) and then two other WIPs with one about Evelyn and Caleb, and then one being a. post-canon, pre timeskip road trip au with Hunter and Luz. so i do want to write both of them more! so yea
“Oh! Oh.” caleb looks stricken for a moment, before making a visible effort to school his expression. “No. Have you thought- this whole-?” the man cuts himself off, pressing a hand to his mouth. he isn’t very good at guarding his expressions, hunter notes, puzzled by the distress that shows through. “I just… I assumed?” he says, fiddling with the empty mug, shoulders rising, but in embarrassment rather than fear. “It was a long fall.” there is a short moment of silence that to him at least feels like hours, during which hunter, ears burning, does his best to wish he’d sink back to the ground from which he’d crawled out, until caleb snorts in amusement and drops the hand from his mouth, and the tension breaks. “I suppose it was,” caleb says with the corner of his mouth pulling to a start of a smile, in a tone hunter would swear is almost fond, and offers hunter his hand. the titanawful distress is gone from his face. hunter takes the offered hand, without hesitation, and caleb pulls him to his feet. “No, you’re not dead,” caleb reassures him, as he gently holds hunter’s hand between his own again, even though it’s perfectly warm here in the little cabin and his fingers don’t need any warming. hunter doesn’t feel the need to pull away, but he knows that if he wanted to, caleb would let him, without question. “You yet live. I’m sorry I’ve kept you this long. it’s taken… a bit longer than we thought.” “We?” caleb smiles, a quick, knowing, almost mischievous smile, but in lieu of answering he steps back just a little, looks hunter over, and with a squeeze of his hands lets go. only to step closer, slowly, just to an arm’s length from him, and then when hunter doesn’t flinch away dusts something off hunter’s shoulder, and smoothes a crease from his shirt, fiddles with the collar of the wolf t-shirt as though any adjustment would carry over to his, apparently still living body, until he seems satisfied, and then sets his hands on hunter’s shoulders again, both, this time. it’s a little like how his uncle had used to look over him when he’d been really small and had to accompany him to some sort of important social function, but a lot more like camila looking over luz at the doorstep that first day she’d had to go back to school in the human realm, even down to fixing his clothes. hunter’s still a little shorter than him, not by a lot, and most likely not for long, but for now caleb does have to look slightly down at him. “Right,” he starts, and then doesn’t seem to be sure how to continue. his eyes flit back and forth, around hunter’s face, as if only now, in the golden soft light of the moment just before the dawn breaks, he’s seeing him properly for the first time. taking him in. committing to memory. “This is it, then?” hunter asks, even though he already knows. caleb hums, glances out the window, and hunter follows his lead. the sun is just below the horizon. the tops of trees nearby are bathed in a bright and warm red light. “Just about”, caleb says and looks back at hunter. he’s silent for a little while, before exhaling softly out of his nose and carefully, telegraphing his every move (though it’s not like he could hide them from someone with hunter’s training anyway), brushes some stray hairs from his face, including the ever-present strand that bounces back immediately. “I don’t know how much of this you’ll remember”, caleb confesses, his hand settling back onto hunter’s shoulder so lightly that hunter knows the grip, if it can even be called that much, would break if he were so much as to lean backwards, “I’ve never sent anyone back before. But I hope something remains. If nothing else, then what I told you in the clearing.” [***] “And you’ve got to take better care of yourself”, caleb says, sternly and only half-teasingly. “There’s only so much magic that can fit in a palisman that small. Cardinals aren’t big birds, young man.” hunter’s eyes widen.
hehe :3c also the thing caleb told him in the clearing? well i didn't like the wording on it so i took it out. oh dear, looks like you'll have to read the whole thing to find out someday.... and YES if you've read "hands, grasping", it IS the same fall! same fic haha. i'll put a read more here because the next bits are rather long,,, yes, long snippets, i don't get to share my writing often ahaha. but anyway!
22 . that is so blissfully self-indulgent
hghhhh okay let's see. I'll give you a toh snippet and then maybe a REAL self indulgent one, i mean, the sort that has a potential readership of. maybe two people max lmao. sorry, hunter's having a bad time in this too :( tw i suppose for bad injuries on a minor. and blood. sorry hunter
something warm dripped down his chin. he thought he might've heard someone screaming his name, but it was hard to tell past the ringing in his ears. he might've hit his head on landing. funnily enough, he couldn't feel much pain from that. it was quite wholly eclipsed by the searing, piercing pain in his chest. i'm not caleb, but the thought was more like a distant, frightened question. everything else felt distant, far-away somehow, but he was very aware of his physical body. the hot pain in his chest- dark red stain on white cotton- i'm not caleb-- the shivers, his skin breaking out in a cold sweat. the rough ground against his palm and arm as he tried to hold himself up, the tiny sharp pebbles digging into them. the cold numbness starting to spread from the tips of his fingers and toes. the sharp sear of the wound in time with his rasping breaths. the blurry sight of his bloody, trembling arms. there was a stinging cut on his left palm, from the blade-arm. the ground below him, glistening with spreading dark red. i'm not caleb. he had to get up. he had to stand up. he couldn't fight, but he couldn't stay here. the only thing he'd serve as a distraction for would be his friends as they'd scramble to shield him and keep any attacks or debris from hitting him. he had to move. he had to. he tried to get his legs under him, but even just moving them a little, ignoring the flare of searing pain he had to grit his teeth together against, he could tell they wouldn't carry. he crawled. from the sound of it, a sizable rock crashed into the ground where he'd just been seconds ago. he only made it a couple more feet before the jittery, jelly-like feeling from his legs spread to his arms. a mere foot further, and what little strenght he'd managed to claw from himself had run out. his arms were too weak to even tremble. it was all he could to to slowly lower himself to the ground, instead of just collapsing outright. it was getting harder to breathe. he felt something bubbling up inside his chest. he coughed, and it hurt, and his mouth tasted like iron. i'm not caleb, and now it was a desperate plea. […] the fit passed. he spat out the blood, and squeezed his eyes shut.) his breaths were shaky, and not just from pain. i'm not caleb, he thought and clung to that thought with the desperation of a drowning man. i am not him, so i will not die like him. i won't die at belos' hand. i can't, because i'm not caleb, and i am going to live. i am going to live, because Flap gave his life for me to live, and i promised him, and i promised my friends, and i promised luz, and i promised caleb, and he told me i'm not him, i'm hunter, and caleb died but hunter will live. i'm not caleb…
he'll be fineeeeeeee and the other, really self indulgent one, just for me:
"we’re married now, after all. i am your wife”, she said, and the words brought with them a warm feeling in her chest, in her belly, in her heart, “and you are my husband.” “…and what does that mean?” “what do you think it means?” “i… i don’t-” he cut himself off, swallowed whatever he’d been about to say, if he even knew it himself. for a moment he nearly looked ill, and stared at her so helplessly it made her want to bring back his father just to send him to his coffin herself. but now wasn’t the time for that. she let her anger and frustration bleed out in a sigh. “for now…” she slowly lifted his hands, making sure to hold them gently, to give him the chance to pull away if he wished. he held his breath, but did not move away. his hands stayed in hers; his hands, smoother and softer than her own even after all this time. so warm, always so kind to her. now slightly trembling. slow in her movements, she kissed them, the softest touch on the knuckles on each hand. she heard his breath catch at the first of them, but he still did not pull away. she looked back up at his face. his eyes, glistening in the firelight, were wide, but he no longer looked as sickly pale with fear and panic as he had before. it seemed as though he had been looking at her and seeing a stranger, and the spark of recognition was only now returning. she let her gaze soften. “…it means whatever you want it to mean. nothing more, nothing less.” for a moment, there was silence. he searched her face, her eyes for something she could not have consciously given him, neither moving, not speaking, barely breathing. just when she was starting to fear it wasn’t there, whatever he needed to find, he found it. she saw it in the moment he unfroze, how his posture dropped from the fear of a prey animal he’d entered the room with to exhaustion in the blink of an eye. “it’s you”, was all he said, and it was such a strange thing to say, in all its relief and its surety, that she couldn’t help but smile, but couldn’t even herself tell if it was from amusement at his words or sheer joy that he’d said them. he was tearing up, face slowly cracking with emotion. “it’s still you.” “well, of course”, she said after a moment of consideration, and reached to brush a strand of hair from his face, and smiled in what she hoped was hidden bemusement. “it was all the make-up and jewelry, wasn’t it.” his hand that she had let fall immediately grasped the other. “no,” he said and shook his head for good measure, and continued, voice thick, “i think i forgot. but it’s you.” with him gripping her hand like this, as though his life depended on it ,where just before he’d first not even looked at her and then flinched from her touch, she thought she understood. she laid her free hand on top of both of his. they still trembled. “it’s me.”
hehe haha. the ace yearning of someone loving you so much that they think you're enough just as you are is strong with this one. also they are my guys (gender neutral)……. also what's it with these snippets and someone making sure the other one can pull away from their hold if they so wish?? maybe it's someone who has all their life been forced into Situations of all sorts getting to interact with someone who Knows and doesn't want to force them into any more Situations if they do not wish to be. very different sorts of Situations in this one. but even so.

13 rhea/beth!!!!!
thank you so much dear for making me write 🖤
I'm not sure this can even be considered a fic tbh but it does have 1340 words SO 🌚 do with that what you will. Idk how well I did (not well), but fyi it is basically a 1st draft and there was little to no editing involved (otherwise I'll never answer this ask ever)
this is (supposed to be) Rhea/Beth co-stars au, I'd give it a G, if someone actually wants to read and worries about that :)
She was running fast, blood pumping in her veins, heart beating in her chest. Her steps uneven on the forest floor, trying to avoid branches, trying to avoid-
Rhea collided into her with a grunt, the two of them toppling down. A breath caught in her lungs for a second, before she could breathe again, quick breaths. Something was digging into her back, her side hurt from the fall.
Rhea pushed herself on her hands, the top of her body lifting off of Beth’s. The woman looked down, short hair framing her features beautifully, lips quirking into a smile. Her eyes searched Beth’s face, then flicked down her body for a second before coming back up.
Beth’s hands clenched, and it was just then that she realized that she’s been holding onto Rhea’s hips. She let go immediately.
Rhea bit her lip and it was all Beth could focus on, her lips still smiling, such a lovely smile, her lips-
“Cut!” The director yelled and Beth gasped suddenly brought back to the reality of where she was. Where they were. What were they doing.
Rhea winked at her as she stood up, she put her hand out to help Beth up.
-
”Just ask her out.”
Beth startled at the whisper in her ear, her body flinching, head turning toward the voice. Ruby’s eyes met hers, heavy and knowing. Beth’s lips slipped open as if there were words to come out, but all she could do was to shake her head.
“Don’t pretend you don’t know what I’m talking about,” Ruby said, giving her a pointed look.
“I’m-, I…”
Ruby’s eyebrows rose and Beth tried to stare her down before she huffed a breath and turned around.
“Yeah. Exactly.” Ruby said.
Beth’s eyes fell unwittingly towards Rhea and her son again. They were eating lunch in the shade of one of the trailers. Rhea’s short dark hair disturbed by the soft wind, smile curling the corners of her mouth while watching Marcus, who was talking and waving his hands around, clearly excited.
Beth smiled.
It was so normal, just a day on the set. There was nothing special there, but Beth still felt her heart growing larger and larger in her chest. She took a deep breath.
“We’ve been filming for a month,” Ruby said, finally sitting in the chair next to her, “and all you’ve been doing is staring at her when she cannot see.”
Beth turned to her friend, heart catching in her chest for just a second.
“That’s not true.” She said, her tone snappier than she intended.
But her friend seemed undeterred. She just rolled her eyes and leaned deeper into the chair.
“Oh yeah, right. I forgot you’ve also been falling in love with her son, as if you didn’t have enough kids already.”
 “Ruby!”
Ruby laughed loudly, whole body shaking.
Beth turned her eyes for a second to Rhea, and the woman’s eyes caught hers immediately. Soft smile that was there for her son turned into an amused one now. Beth felt her face warming up.
She stood up from her chair, hitting her friend on her arm while she passed her.
“You’re the worst.” She said and started on her way to the make-up trailer.
“Someone had to say it!” Ruby shouted after her, amusement coloring her tone.
-
“Are you okay?”
Beth gasped and stopped herself short from jumping up. What was with people sneaking up on her today?
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you.” Rhea said, clearly amused.
Beth just shook her head. Took a slow breath in, her eyes trying to stay focused on the set in front of her now that she knew Rhea stood behind her.
Ruby was doing a sixth take, clearly trying to stay calm.
“Are you okay?” Rhea moved closer, voice quieter. Beth could feel the heat radiating off of her body, her breath on her neck. She suppressed a shiver. “I think you eased the worst of my fall. I’m sorry I was meant to fall to your side.”
Beth tilted her head, trying to catch Rhea’s eyes. She smiled.
“It’s okay.” She said. “Doesn’t hurt that much.”
Rhea chuckled.
“What?”
“You’re always acting so tough.” Rhea said. Beth felt her hand squeezing her arm. “I understand the need, believe me.” Her hand moved down and Beth only had a second to prepare for what was about to happen before Rhea’s hand slid into her own and squeezed. “But it’s not always necessary.”
Beth could feel her heart in her chest growing again. She saw the understanding in Rhea’s eyes. She squeezed her hand back, opened her mouth-
Would you like to-
“Cut!” The director yelled, making Beth jump this time. Rhea smiled sympathetically. “Rhea, c’mon, we’ve wasted enough time.”
In a second Rhea was gone from her side, her hand leaving a ghost of warmth on Beth’s skin. Beth followed her with her eyes before Ruby obscured her line of vision.
“I fucking hate that guy.” Her friend growled as she passed by, and Beth turned around and went after her.
-
“Oh, that’s a nasty bruise.” Rhea said, walking through the doors of the wardrobe department just as Beth pulled the corset away from her body.
She looked down, the angry purple bruise poured down from underneath the shirt and over her hip. She pulled the shirt up, trying to see how far up it reached, and she winced at the sensitivity of her own skin.
“Shit.” She mumbled under her breath. She really didn’t think it would be so bad.
“You said you were okay.” Rhea said, her voice closer now and Beth looked up and was met with the woman’s eyes instantly.
“I am okay.” She said.
Rhea squinted her eyes at her.
“Okay, sure.”
“I am. Really.” Beth repeated, feeling her voice waver under Rhea’s gaze.
Rhea gave her one resigned nod and moved to get out of her own costume as well.
They changed their clothes in silence after that, Beth trying to not aggravate her bruise too much, willing her jeans to not dig into her flesh. Not that that helped. She definitely walked much slower towards the exit than she normally would.
“I’m really sorry.” Rhea said, catching up with her in the corridor. She matched Beth’s slow step.
“It’s not your fault.” Beth said. “I didn’t think it would be so bad.”
Rhea looked guilty; her eyes kept falling down to the bruise underneath Beth’s clothes.
“Come with me to my trailer,” Rhea said softly, “I have a salve there. It’s great, worked like a charm on Marcus. It would at least soothe your skin a little.”
“You don’t really have to-“
“Beth.” Her tone of voice left no space for arguments and Beth was tired and her jeans were really starting to get on her nerves.
“Yeah, okay.” She nodded and followed Rhea to her trailer.
The walk was short and Rhea found the salve in no time at all.
“I’ll get you some joggers.” The woman said and disappeared into another room before Beth had time to argue. She shook her head, but opened her jeans and put the salve on her bruise.
The salve was cold and Beth could feel the numbing effects already. She sighed loudly.
“Working?”
Rhea appeared with soft purple pants, pushed them into her hands while she took the container away. Beth had no mind to argue with her. She sat down on the couch and changed quickly.
“Would you like to come to dinner?” Rhea asked. Words rushed almost as if they escaped her and Beth stilled. She looked up.
“Dinner?” She asked stupidly.
“Yeah.” Rhea said.
There was a soft blush on her face. Or maybe Beth just imagined it.
“An I’m sorry dinner?” Beth asked, biting the side of her lip.
“Maybe.” Rhea said titling her head to the side. Beth's heart picking up its beat in her chest. “Maybe not.”
The woman smiled and Beth couldn’t help but smile back.
Maybe not.
“Okay.”

i think she probably had met him once cause supposedly her dad is an OHL coach, but she’s defiantly boosting it for clout. like i’ve met a ton of hockey players and they’re normal guys but would never describe them as “nice and respectful” as many times as she does
*IM GOING TO BE STANDING ON BUSINESS WITH THIS POST*
So I never even knew she existed till that submission I got, and weirdly all of a sudden I kept getting a bunch of messages all at the same time in this same text/grammar/punctuation format LMAO… which concludes to me she defs sent them in.
I tragically did a deep dive into her blog before I formed opinions and speculations, just to see if anything wasn’t actually bs. Though the more I read the more sus I got about a bunch of stuff.
She allegedly claims she’s known or was around Nolan and her family when she was young, because their dads golfed together (I literally do not think his dads much of a golfer either lmaooo) + her dad and his uncle were coaches together… Anytime a question is brought up about Nolan she constantly brushes it off cause she wants to respect his privacy… listen if I genuinely know people personally or have the respect for them as she claims, I wouldn’t even be entertaining one word let alone let it be known that I even know them… on a blog… 😭💀
Bro I fr don’t even want to get into the her having two kids and her having a child allegedly at 16, not that it’s even a issue, cause not my problem, but their is something sus about that whole ass thing too. She also seems to constantly wanting to lie or hide about her age, or not disclose it… which I find weird, cause if you do the math even by her kids alleged ages you’d know she’s at least early 20’s but claim she’s in her mid 20’s, idek. It’s probably some literal teen running it. Respectfully if I had 2 kids I wouldn’t be up on some Tumblr blog posting what she posts??? Something about the way she writes in terms of punctuation comes off juvenile. Nothing radiates baby mama of 2… oops. Also the sus life story idek man.
(One of her post regarding nolpats)
Tumblr media
So as I said she’s someone who claims to know nolan on a not super close but a still personal level lol. Yet says he doesn’t have any reputation… be for real with me 💀💀💀 “cause no one is really that aware of him”. You could pay me with a cheese burger to personally fly out to Winnipeg to ask people around and I bet you they’d know who the kid is also Winnipeg isnt huge and the communities are small, everyone mutually knows each other especially when you’re born and raised there. Nothing adds up to her even knowing him.
Also claiming she’s on his private account, I’m sure babe… that account is strictly for family and friends he’s known closely for years. Not some random that allegedly got pregnant at 16 and then left Winnipeg for 4+ years (as she’s said) and never was in contact with him for years LMAOOOO. Also to publicly claim you’re on it too, interesting.
Long story short I’m sorry home girl @ urhockeymilf you defs are making up half to all of or pre much everything you’ve claimed… I know you send yourself submissions too on your own blog… so I cannot wait for your submissions in my inbox after you potentially see this.
I’ll also add I do run this blog myself but I won’t be stupid enough to start claiming I PERSONALLY know anyone. I share info I gather from others, and express they’re just rumours and speculations, and when making points on why I think something seems true I’ll always try to provide proof and a logical answer to why, rather then just talking out my ass or making shit up lmao.

All these people think love's for show But I would die for you in secret The devil's in the details, but you got a friend in me Would it be enough if I could never give you peace?
Or, Draco finds out more about Astoria when she accidently misses a date. (I'm so excited to try my hand at mircofics, @cruelsummer-ficfest!)
Read on AO3
They had been dating for almost a year when Draco came to pick her up for a date, and Astoria didn’t answer the door. At first, he thought she’d been held back at the office. When it was ten minutes past, he started to get worried. At fifteen past, he started to think she’d stood him up. At twenty past, he got pissed. Anger simmering in his veins, he spelled open the door. Draco was aware that Astoria had policy to write, but he thought that he should take some priority since they had officially started dating.
An uneasiness settled over him as he stepped into Astoria’s flat. The lights were on which meant Astoria was home. When Draco called out, he got no answer. He stepped toward her bedroom — a place he’d been a thousand times now — but stopped short when he saw Astoria laying on the floor of the bathroom, her body curled on its side awkwardly. Fear ceased Draco then. Someone must have attacked her for one reason or another — her political views, her father, him.
Dropping to his knees, Draco gently rolled her over and spotted the black blood dripping from her nose.
#
“Get out of the way, Malfoy.”
Draco scrambled to his feet when he heard the stoney voice of Marcus Flint. For the past several hours, he’d been sitting outside Astoria’s door waiting for some kind of answer from the Healers or Daphne, who had arrived earlier, but none ever came.
“What are you doing here?” he demanded.
“I’m here to see Astoria,” Flint said easily enough, but Draco knew the words were meant to slice him open.
“Daphne owled you then?”
“Yes.”
“Well, what did she say?” he asked. “I’ve not seen her since she arrived. I want-”
“I don’t give a fuck what you want, you entitled asshole,” Flint snapped. “You can choke on a rat’s chode for all I care.”
Then he disappeared into Astoria’s room as well.
#
By the time six hours rolled around, Draco was positively fuming. Not only was he left outside with absolutely no updates on Astoria, but Flint seemed to be purposefully entering and exiting the room often to remind Draco that he wasn’t allowed in. When the next Healer entered the room, Draco shoved him in the back and stepped past the man as he tried to catch himself before he fell.
Flint spotted him first and sent him a glare that would wither even the brightest of spring daisies. Draco didn’t care because Astoria looked at him then, her tired eyes filled with surprise. She was sitting on the edge of her bed in a white gown, her skin as pale as her sheets.  Draco was going to murder whoever had hexed her.
“What the hell is going on?” he demanded.
“Don’t you raise your voice at her,” Flint hissed.
“Marcus, just give us a moment.”
“I’m not leaving you with this-”
“I cannot deal with two hormonal men at once,” Astoria snapped. “Please give us a moment.”
Flint huffed before knocking past him. Daphne rose from her chair in the corner and followed him.
Once they were gone, Draco knelt in front of Astoria, grabbed her hands, and kissed her knuckles.
“I promise you, I will find whoever did this to you and make them live a thousand deaths.”
“Draco.” Astoria sounded weary and her eyes were dull when he looked up at her. “No one did this to me.” His confusion must have shown on his face because Astoria continued. “I’m sorry you found me like that. It must have been scary for you.”
“Astoria.” She was avoiding the subject — trying to distract him from any questions he might ask. “Just tell me what happened.”
She didn’t answer for a long time, instead choosing to sit there with her jaw clenched. Anger was bubbling in her eyes, and Draco didn’t know if it was directed at him or herself.
“I’m sick,” she finally said. “Sick with a blood curse.”
Shock eddied inside Draco. Blood curses were rare. Most people didn’t understand how they worked, only that those who had them never lived very long lives.
“I don’t understand.”
“I’ve always had it,” she said numbly. “Since I was little. Cursed with dirty blood ironically. The blood in my body turns against itself, almost like poison spreading, and I have to have it replaced when I can’t function with it anymore. It’s a brutal process where they remove the infected blood and replace it with normal blood.”
Draco kissed her hands again because he had no answer for her; no money would fix this. Blood curses were for life. Astoria let him rest his head in her lap for a long time. When she spoke again, Draco’s heart sank.
“I understand if you want to leave now.”
“Leave? he choked. “I am not leaving you like this. The Healers will have to drag me from this room.”
“You don’t understand-”
“I understand that I love you. I will not leave you.”
It was Astoria’s turn to be shocked. Her brown eyes widened, blinking several times. Draco meant it, and she might not feel the same, he realized. His heart was pounding from the terror and the truth of it. The bruised thing he was laying before Astoria was all he had to offer. Long ago, his heart had been beaten and tortured but it was his and it belonged to her now.
Astoria’s hands were shaking; her whole body was. “Draco, I-”
“You don’t have to say anything,” he said desperately kissing her hands. He could not stand to hear her rejection. “Just know that I will not leave you. Even if I have to sit outside that wretched door for another hundred hours.”
Astoria lifted his chin, forcing him to look at her. “No one as ever wanted me as fiercely as you have.”
As Draco finally kissed her, he thought no one ever would.

the other woman; mingyu x fem!reader
request: Hey do you write seventeen angst? Idk if you are still doing requests but I was hoping you can write a dramatic angst using either Joshua, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Mingyu, or Minghao, Vernon but two of them as leads. Idk why I’m a sucker for cliche stuff like cheating or betraying kind of stuff and a touch of sadness.
synopsis: you're married to wonwoo, but his parents desperately wants him to have a child - which you cannot have. he gives into his parents wishes and meets the other woman, whom he eventually agrees to marry as well. you're left heartbroken for a few years, seeing the man you love build a family that you had always wanted, but happiness is on the horizon as you meet someone new.
a/n: i just wanted to get this finished, so i'm sorry if it feels a bit rushed. i completely forgot the story line i had wanted in the beginning, and it's just been sitting in my drafts for the longest time...
cw: slight bit of angst
genre: fluff, found family
word count: 5.9k
read part one!
read part two!

by the time you got home that night, you had partially forgotten about wonwoo. mingyu made sure to get you happy and smiling brightly again, even if it was just for a short cab ride. as you left the car, you felt like the sun was perched on your shoulders - warmth spreading through your body, and light emitting from your smile.
"goodnight, sweetheart.", mingyu said from inside the cab. you were leaning against the open door.
he had tried to get outside the car to say goodbye, but you assured him that it wasn't necessary. as you handed him his jacket, he put his hand on yours and gently tugged at you to lean further down.
"would it be very inappropriate of me to kiss you right now?", he asked quietly, "because i would really like to, but only if you feel-"
you broke the distance, and before he could say another word kissed him quickly. when you leaned back up mingyu's eyes were still closed.
"thank you for tonight.", you said, "i really needed a night out."
"anything for you.", he said without thinking, only realizing the meaning of the words after he spoke them.
he cleared his throat and turned away from you to hide his flustered face. the cab driver asked if he was going to have to wait there all night, in a half-joking manner, and mingyu quickly apologized.
"goodnight, mingyu.", you said with a small, teasing grin.
"i'll see you soon.", he answered.
the next time you saw mingyu it was unexpected. you had decided to go to the park, to enjoy the spring warmth and an excellent book. it was sunday, which meant that you didn't have any work, and you could do whatever you liked with your time. the thought of asking mingyu if he wanted to meet up certainly popped into your brain, but you presumed that he was busy. the occurrence of the end of your date was also weighing heavy on your shoulders. the odd chance that you'd meet your ex while on a date seemed ridiculously small to you. even if the date had ended rather well, you still felt embarrassed.
as to not dwell on the awkward interaction, you decided to not think about it while on your walk. the park was big, another plus of living in a well-off neighborhood, and it had many benches where you could spend your leisure time. the weather was just right, not too cold and not too hot. there were some concerningly dark clouds in the sky, but they were too far away for you to care about them.
you found a spot by a small duck pond, with a bench looking over the water. after sitting down, you pulled out your book and started reading. it felt nice to get out of your apartment. if you hadn't, you would've been sitting on the couch watching yet another show by now. the thought was definitely tantalizing, but being here was better for your overall health. besides, if you hadn't ended up sitting down at that bench, you wouldn't have met up with mingyu.
"miss y/l/n!", you heard a familiar voice shout.
you looked up from your pages, putting your index finger where you left off before closing the book. by the duck pond, now happily running towards you was ari, followed closely by ji-u. a smile spread across your lips as you watched the two girls approach you. you put the book back in your bag to greet them.
"what are you guys doing here?", you asked as they reached your place by the bench, "are you visiting the ducks with your grandparents?"
you didn't know why you assumed that they were with their grandparents and not mingyu. maybe because of the fact that he always seemed very busy. the girls didn't have time to answer before you looked up and saw the man himself standing in front of you. it felt weird to see him in just jeans and a t-shirt, and a normal jacket for once. paired with his messy hair, he just looked like a normal dad.
"they're here with me.", he smiled, making your heart flutter.
"he was going to feed the ducks with us, but the ducks swam away.", ji-u explained.
"yeah...", ari disappointedly looked up at her dad, "he totally scared them away."
"i was trying to get closer to them!", he exclaimed with an embarrassed grin.
you let out a soft laugh at the trio. their antics were endless, but you enjoyed watching the show they put on. a small ache took its place in your chest. watching them made you remember the family that you had always wanted, but were cursed with never being able to have.
"dad's also helping us practice for the play", ji-u added, "because he said he can't come on friday, so he wanted to watch us do it now."
"you can't be there?", you furrowed your brows as you looked up at mingyu.
"there's a meeting i have to be at, and it ends right as the play is supposed to start.", he sighed, "i told them i would try to make it but, you know..."
"well, i heard that they record the plays so... maybe i can get you a copy of that.", you said, "but i do hope that you at least try to get there, even if you only see the last parts."
"of course...", he nodded and the conversation faded into silence, "... i texted you this morning."
"you did?", you took your phone out of your bag, "sorry, i have my phone on silent."
it was a short message. a simple question, if you would like to meet up in the park. you smiled when you saw it. when you looked back up at him, he was looking away. a slight blush was spread across his cheeks and the tips of his ears. cute.
"dad said you couldn't come with us to see the ducks, did you change your mind?", ji-u asked.
her question made mingyu's face grow even redder, and your smile grow fonder. you looked down at ji-u, brushing a few strands of hair out of her face.
"yes, i did.", you said and stood up.
"oh, but if you're busy-", mingyu started, but you quickly cut him off.
"i'm not busy", you told him.
.⋆。⋆☂˚。⋆。˚☽˚。⋆.
you spent the day with mingyu and his daughters; feeding the ducks, eating lunch, going to the playground, and simply enjoying each other's company. towards the middle of the afternoon, those clouds that you hadn't bothered being worried about were a lot closer than before. mingyu helped the girls zip up their coats before he turned to you. you were just wearing a blouse and a skirt since you weren't expecting to stay at the park for so long.
"are you cold?", mingyu asked, taking off his jacket before you could even answer.
"i'm fine, really.", you protested.
it was too late, mingyu's jacket engulfed your shoulders as he draped it around you. he fixed the collar of the jacket to hang securely, also letting his hands stay near you. you looked up at his face, he was staring right at you with a warm look in his eye. he was so close to you, you almost forgot the rest of the world around you.
"i wouldn't want you to catch a cold", he said quietly, "you take care of my kids after all."
"is that the only reason?", you asked, faking being offended.
"of course not.", he said with a small smile as he gently pushed some hair out of your face.
he opened his mouth to add something, but before he could it started raining. small droplets landing on your nose, you looked up at the about-to-be-downpour and took a step away from him.
"we should go home.", mingyu said, turning to his girls, "what do you say, girls?"
"will miss y/l/n come with us?", they asked.
"no girls, i have to go home", you crouched down to their eye level, "but i will see you tomorrow, okay?"
they both nodded, and unexpectedly swung their small arms around your neck - it almost made you stumble backward. you hugged them back and glanced up at mingyu.
"i will see you tomorrow too then?", he asked as you stood up.
"of course", you smiled, "i have to return this jacket, so."
.⋆。⋆☂˚。⋆。˚☽˚。⋆.
the very next day you were in your usual classroom, waiting for mingyu to pick up his daughters. they were the last ones there, as they always were, but this time it was getting very late. you were stealing worried glances at the clock every other minute. what if something had happened to him on the way here?
"did your dad say that he would be later than usual today?", you asked the girls carefully.
"no", ari said, "but he looked tired, so maybe he fell asleep."
before you could question her any further, mingyu barged in through the door. if you thought seeing him in jeans and a t-shirt was weird, it was even stranger to see him in sweat pants. like ari said, he looked very tired - even sick.
"i'm so sorry.", he took a deep breath, "i swear i didn't mean to be late, i fell asleep in my study and-"
he paused to sneeze. oh, he was definitely sick.
"mingyu, are you alright?", you walked up to him and pressed your palm against his forehead, "you're burning up."
"yeah, i have a small fever...", he leaned against your cool hand, "that feels very nice."
the girls giggled behind you, reminding you that they were still there and that you should try to not make a scene to worry them.
"why didn't you let your parents pick them up?", you spoke in a low voice, "you didn't go to work like this, did you?"
"i did... they sent me home, so i worked in my study.", he explained with a goofy grin, "it's a lot nicer to work from home, i don't have to dress up... but i didn't want to miss seeing you, so i didn't bother asking my parents."
"you are so incredibly irresponsible.", you said and made his grin fade, "you should be resting... did you drive here?"
"yeah, of course.", he said, almost complaining when you took away your hand from his forehead.
"let me drive you home.", you sighed, "is that okay with you?"
mingyu handed you his keys, which you quickly accepted. this was definitely against some sort of work code, but you didn't care. these girls needed to get home safe, and mingyu needed to rest as much as he could.
"let's go girls, i'm taking you home.
after getting the girls into their respective seats and buckling their seat belts, you got into the driver's seat. mingyu was sitting beside you, leaning his head against the headrest. he looked like hell, but somehow still managed to be cute. you still had his jacket from the day before and draped it over his chest like a blanket.
.⋆。⋆☂˚。⋆。˚☽˚。⋆.
you drove them to their home, following the GPS' orders carefully. mingyu fell asleep during the drive, and the girls sat in the backseat whispering and giggling. when you got to the destination you had to wake him up.
"it's this house right there, just park the car right in front of the garage... I'll fix it later.", he mumbled.
the house was big, built with modern architecture. big glass windows, long black, and white walls, and a flat roof. before getting lost in the beauty of the outside of his home, you helped the girls get out of the car.
"let me unlock the door.", mingyu yawned and got out of the car.
the inside of the home was well decorated and had dark wooden floors. there was a big living room area, which was connected to a patio. you could see back into the garden through the big glass sliding doors, quickly noticing a pool back there. the kitchen was also in the downstairs area. the cabinets were black, and the floor was lined with classic black and white tiles. everything looked neatly put together, especially compared to your apartment.
"you should go to bed...", you told mingyu.
"will you come with me?", he asked with a slight flirtatious tone.
"you're really getting on my nerves today.", you sighed, but couldn't help the warmth creeping up on your face.
you took a quick look around again, noticing that the girls had already sat down on the couch.
"are they allowed to watch TV now?", you asked mingyu and he nodded, "girls, do you want to watch something?"
"yes please!", they both said in unison.
you turned on the TV and switched it to a kids' channel before getting back to the very sick mingyu.
"now let's get you to bed.", you sighed and grabbed his arm, "where's your bedroom?"
"up the stairs."
after getting him into bed you pulled the covers over him and sat on the edge of the bed. mingyu put his hand on your thigh, and you put your hand on top of his.
"did you get sick while walking in the rain yesterday?", you asked.
"most likely.", he answered.
"i'm sorry...", you sighed and took his hand in both of yours, bringing it closer to you.
"it's not your fault, sweetheart.", he said, "... thank you for bringing me home. i really appreciate it."
"do you need me to do anything else? i can make dinner for the girls.", you said.
"that'd be very nice.", he nodded and closed his eyes, "i'll help you, i just need to close my eyes for a bit."
"no, you will not help me.", you sighed and put down his hand over the covers, "you are going to rest up. i'll stop by with some food for you before i leave."
"thank you.", mingyu had accepted defeat, "the twins go to bed by 8 o'clock sharp."
"and their room is..?"
"down the hall to the right. it's right in front of my study and right next to the bathroom.", he sighed and got comfortable under the covers.
"i'll take care of it, don't worry.", you smiled, "rest well, alright?"
mingyu let out a grunt for an answer as you left the room. the upstairs area wasn't as big as the downstairs area, but it was still around the same size as your entire apartment. you looked around in awe, never having imagined that this was what mingyu's home would look like. despite having two kids, he kept everything clean - you thought until you saw the kids' room. toys were scattered here and there, but there was still enough space to walk around in the big room. the girls slept in separate beds in separate corners of the room. there was a big window right in between the beds, allowing light to flow inside. it was a pretty room, although it was a bit messy. the mess wasn't a big problem, just some stuff on the floor - it was easy enough for you to put away. once that was done, you explored further. you found the upstairs bathroom, where you noticed a toothbrush stand with three toothbrushes standing next to each other and one empty slot. after the bathroom, you found mingyu's study, which you only took a quick glance at. this room was even messier than the girls', and you assumed it was because he left in a hurry earlier. there were tissues piling up in the trash, and papers all over the dark wooden desk. the blinds were closed, leaving the room feeling closed off. you quickly left that room, not wanting to intrude more than you already had. on your way to the staircase, you passed a room, right in front of mingyu's bedroom, that you had somehow missed. it wasn't the time for snooping anymore, you thought and decided against going in there.
when you got down the stairs you found the girls still watching TV. their attention went away from the screen as you came in to check on them.
"are you feeling hungry?", you asked and they both nodded, "do you want to help me make some food?"
.⋆。⋆☂˚。⋆。˚☽˚。⋆.
after making dinner, and tucking ji-u and ari into bed, you got a plate of the leftovers and brought it up to mingyu's room. the room was still dark, and he was still lying in bed in the same position you had left him in. maybe he had shifted around a bit because his hair was a bit messier than before. you sat down beside him and put your hand on his arm.
"i have some food for you", you said softly, "and some water."
mingyu opened his eyes ever so slightly, shifting in the bed to bring his hands up to his face to rub the sleep out of his eyes. when he was done he sat up, leaning his back against the headboard.
"you're too nice to me.", he muttered.
"you would've done the same for me", you shrugged, "here, drink up."
you handed him the water and put the plate of food on his bedside table while he drank. a nervous feeling started spreading in your chest, suddenly realizing the position you were in. to combat these unfamiliar emotions, you got up and started closing the blinds.
"i put the girls to bed", you spoke as you worked on closing the blinds, "they weren't very happy to go to sleep when you hadn't kissed them goodnight yet."
"they get antsy if we don't follow the routine.", he chuckled, "could you hand me the plate."
you sat back down beside him, head buzzing with nervousness, and took the plate. without thinking you took the fork to feed him like you used to do with the stubborn kids at the kindergarten you worked at before. only when mingyu had taken a bite, looking a little bit shocked, is when you realized what you were doing.
"i'm so sorry", you quickly tried to hand him the plate, "it's an old habit, i wasn't patronizing you, i swear-"
mingyu only laughed, pushing away your attempt at giving him the plate. he couldn't get a word out, still trying to chew through the fit of giggles. his hand was over his mouth as he looked away from you, if he were to look in your lost puppy dog eyes he would definitely start laughing again.
"it's alright.", he said after calming down, "i don't mind being pampered... especially not by you."
your eyebrows shot up over your forehead. mingyu motioned for you to come a bit closer, and you shuffled a few inches closer to him. he looked expectantly at the plate, and then back at you. with a slightly shaky hand, you brought another spoon of food to his mouth, which he gladly accepted. seeing him genuinely happy over this made you a bit more comfortable. you shuffled even closer to him, sitting down in a better position to feed him. it felt strange, and you couldn't help but laugh a little at his happy expressions.
"you cook well.", he said quietly as you took the last of what was on the plate on the spoon.
"it was just something i threw together, really", you said, "it's nothing special."
"thank you, anyway.", he said before taking the last bite.
you put the plate on the bedside table again, but before you could leave mingyu grabbed your arm. he looked up at you through his eyelashes, and you could've melted at the sight. he gently pulled you back towards him, making you sit down beside him again.
"i'm really sorry that i caused you so much trouble today.", he said softly and put his hand on your knee.
"you didn't.", you smiled, "i wanted to do this, otherwise i wouldn't have been here."
suddenly you started hearing giggling behind you. when you turned around you saw two black-haired heads peeking out from the side of the doorframe. your body was in the way for mingyu to see them, but his daughters were grinning widely at the sight of the two of you.
"girls, it's bedtime!", mingyu said kindly, yet sternly.
"we know!", they giggled, "but we didn't get to say goodnight to you."
the girls ran inside the room and crawled up on the bed. you were about to get up to give them space when you noticed that mingyu's hand hadn't moved from your leg. he squeezed it gently and when your eyes met his they seemed to be asking you to stay. so you sat there with them, watching as mingyu spoke with his daughters and apologized for not saying goodnight earlier.
"i was feeling a bit sick, so i had to rest", he explained, "which made me miss your bedtime."
"are you better now? did ms. y/l/n make you better?", ari asked and looked at you expectantly.
"he's doing a lot better than he was before", you said as you glanced between the man in front of you and his daughters, "but my expert opinion says that he still needs a full nights rest."
"you can't kiss it better?", ari asked, giggling with her sister.
"yeah, you can't kiss it better?", mingyu asked in a mocking tone, gently squeezing your leg again.
you put your hand on top of his and put it down beside you again. even if he was able to be very mature most of the time, he had a tendency to bring out his childish side. as you took his hand away from your leg, he almost looked like he regretted saying it.
"a good night's rest is all he needs, i promise you.", you assured the twins, "so you two should go back to bed."
they said goodnight to their father and hurried back to their room, leaving you all alone with mingyu again.
"i'll go check that they're really sleeping before i leave.", you said.
"you're leaving?", he sounded surprised, and by the grimace, he made afterward he didn't mean for it to sound like it.
"well yeah, i couldn't possibly intrude for any longer than i already have.", you said.
"y/n, you're not intruding.", he iterated, "i have a guest room, and you could borrow some clothes to sleep in for the night. it's so late, you shouldn't be going home alone at this hour."
he seemed so determined, and how could you give up on such an offer? his hand found its way back on your leg, a kind gesture that asked you to stay. you thought back to all the time you had spent together in the cabins. it had been so long that you seemed to have forgotten that you actually knew him quite well for just being his children's teacher. you took his hand in yours again, looking down at it to try to distract yourself from his strong gaze.
"i'm sorry that i left before", you spoke softly, "by the cabins... it was kind of a jerk move. i didn't even leave a note."
mingyu turned his hand to intertwine his fingers with yours. you looked at him with a shy smile. for some reason, you had thought of your second meeting as a new beginning, but you can't just erase memories with another person to start over.
"and i'm sorry for being an emotional wreck", you added, "and acting like i was a complete stranger when we finally met again."
"it's okay.", mingyu stated, "you've been through something horrible. i just wish that i could be someone you can lean on when you really need it... instead, you're here, treating me when i'm sick..."
you let out a stifled laugh. it felt nice to finally let your walls down a bit. mingyu squeezed your hand, getting your attention back on him.
"i'm not asking you to sleep in my bed with me because, frankly, that'd be very stupid considering that i'm sick", he said, making you laugh again, "but i just want to make sure that you don't have to go home alone, and that you're safe."
"alright, i'll take you up on your offer."
.⋆。⋆☂˚。⋆。˚☽˚。⋆.
the next morning you woke up in mingyu's guest bed, in a borrowed pair of sweatpants and a shirt. the alarm on your phone had successfully woken you up an hour before you had to leave for work. you quickly got up and went downstairs, where you found mingyu making breakfast and the girls tiredly waiting at the table.
"why are you up? shouldn't you still be resting?", the words tumbled out of your mouth before you could even process them.
"good morning to you too, doctor.", mingyu joked and handed you a newly brewed cup of coffee, "you'll be happy to hear that my symptoms have-"
you pressed your hand against his forehead again, interrupting whatever he was going to joke about. his fever had gone down, and he looked a lot better than the day before.
"just a runny nose and a slight sore throat.", he smiled and took your hand away from his forehead, "what do you think? am i too sick to make breakfast?"
his grip on your wrist shifted to hold your hand instead. his eyes were glimmering in the low light of the kitchen lamp, and that warm smile never left his lips. if it weren't for the fact that he was sick, you would've kissed that smile off his face.
"no...", you sighed, "sorry, i overreacted-"
"you didn't.", he assured you, "it's nice to know that you care."
mingyu's arm sneakily wrapped itself around your waist and brought you closer. he leaned his forehead against yours, still looking into your eyes. you did your best to not spill anything out of your cup, but it was getting increasingly hard since you were starting to be distracted. you peered over your shoulder, noticing that the two of you had started getting the attention of the twins.
"could we save this for another day?", you asked and put a hand on his chest, "maybe when we're not being watched?"
mingyu looked up, immediately locking eyes with ari and ji-u who were almost standing on top of their chairs to see.
"hey! sit down in the chairs, or you'll fall over!", mingyu said and let go of you to bring the girls their breakfast.
you watched him walk away, carefully warning the girls of the dangers of standing up on the chairs as he put down their bowls. when he walked back to you, and the girls were deeply invested in their food, you decided to be a little mean. while mingyu was grumbling to himself you walked up to him and planted a quick kiss on his cheek. he looked at you, stopping whatever he was doing to just stare at you in shock.
"thank you for the coffee.", you said quietly, "i need to get ready, but i'll see you soon, right?"
"i can drive you to work", he blurted out, "i need to take my girls there anyway."
"if you're feeling fine then i don't see why not."
"oh, i'm feeling more than fine.", he tried to lean in, but you quickly stopped him.
"i don't need to get sick too.", you said and when he tried to protest you added, "i tried kissing it better... think of it was your medicine. doctor's orders!"
he watched you leave, his jaw was slightly slack. you were going to be the death of him.

you arrived at the school with yesterday's clothes and wearing whatever make-up you could find in your purse. so, of course, your closest coworker would notice.
"had a fun night?", joshua hong asked with a sly grin.
"my night was just fine, mr. hong.", you responded, but giving your secret away by smiling.
there were other people in the teacher's lounge, so you had to be discreet. however, being discreet with joshua wasn't easy. the two of you frequently sat down to gossip with each other, and most of the time you ended up getting too excited - ergo, too loud.
"i saw you walking in here with mr. kim...", he said quietly, "and i've never seen you wear the same clothes two days in a row, so you're going to have to tell me everything that happened last night."
"i will...", you said and interrupted his small celebration by adding "at lunch."
"you're no fun.", he sighed dramatically, making you laugh.

the week went by quickly, and you hadn't gotten to see mingyu as much as you had hoped. he stayed home until he was feeling well again, but then he had work to catch up on - so his parents ended up picking up the twins this week. a part of you still thought that he might show up to the play, for the girls' sake of course, even if it was naive of you to think.
friday, the day of the play, was spent making preparations for the afternoon - when all of the parents would come to see their kids perform. it wasn't anything particularly well-made, it was made by kids after all - but the work that the kids had put in truly made you proud. in the morning you immediately asked ji-u and ari if they knew if their dad would come after all. they had confirmed your fears, of him most likely not coming at all. despite them putting up a brave front, you could tell it made them very disappointed.
"well, why don't i act as your grown-up for the play? just so that you know that someone is watching you.", you suggested.
"don't you have to look at all of the kids?", ji-u asked.
"yeah, you're a teacher - it's not the same.", ari sighed.
"i'll tell you what...", you lowered your voice, "if you promise not to tell anyone, i'll promise to pay the most attention to you two this afternoon."
it seemed to cheer them up. they even made you pinky-swear on it. however, you knew it wasn't as good as having their actual parent - so you were determined to make mingyu at least see the few last minutes.
when everyone was in their costumes and had prepared for the play to start, you took your seat right by the stage. you saved a chair next to you, putting up a fake "reserved chair" sign on the seat. before the play started, even before the parents had started coming in, you pulled out your phone and called mingyu.
"are you on your way yet?", you asked as he picked up.
"i'm in the car right now, i managed to cut the meeting short", he answered, "i might make it in five minutes."
"great! i saved you a seat", you said happily, "it's right at the front."
"you got me front row seats? wow, you really know how to spoil a guy, y/n.", he joked.
"just be there, mr. kim.", you said, right as joshua sat down on the "non-reserved" seat next to you.
"mr. kim?", he whisper-yelled, knowing all about your relationship to the man by now.
"i have to go now...", you sighed into the phone.
"alright. thank you again, sweetheart", mingyu said, "i really do appreciate it."
as you hung up, joshua stared at you with his jaw on the floor. he had apparently listened intently to your call because he looked like he had heard something that he shouldn't have.
"he calls you sweetheart?", joshua laughed.
"shut up, joshua!", you hissed at him, "i told you that nobody else needs to know."
you knew that if people found out that you used to sleep with one of the parents of the children you educated, suspicions of special treatment would arise even if they had no real claim.
"you guys are so cute...", he sighed dreamingly, "i know you don't think it's a good idea... but i think you should go for it."
the parents started coming in before you could say something in response. your eyes were completely focused on the door, smiling at the occasional parent you would make eye contact with, but your main goal was to see mingyu walking through that door. all the parents had settled down and were talking amongst themselves. mingyu still wasn't there. the lights dimmed. mingyu still wasn't there. a teacher came out on stage to present the play. mingyu still wasn't there. the parents clapped after the teacher's short speech, and as he walked off the stage and the music started: mingyu came through the door. you happily waved to him, and he sprinted toward his seat just as ari and ji-u walked out on stage. he gave them two thumbs up and a supportive smile before sitting down.
"thank you.", he whispered in your ear.
you wanted to thank him too, for coming despite all the trouble, but the kids had already started speaking.
that was a year ago. it was when you had realized how much you felt for him, and for his kids. it was when you had decided that taking a leap of faith was worth it if it was for them. even if you were still hurt from your past, you put your trust in mingyu that he could help you heal those wounds.
you walked out of the school with ji-u and ari. as soon as you saw him walking toward you, your face broke out into a bright smile. the girls ran up to him first, you following with quick steps.
"how has your day been, girls? did you learn anything new?", he crouched down to be on eye level with them.
"mr. hong taught us multiplication!", ari said.
the girls had moved up a year, and you requested to not have them in your class for the following years. after all, it would be awkward for them to have their dad's fiancé as their teacher.
"you need to help me with my homework!", ji-u said.
"of course, i will, honey."
mingyu looked up at you with a small yet warm smile. he stood up, telling the girls to go into the car. you approached him, feeling as giddy as a teenager experiencing a crush for the first time.
"did you have a good day, mrs. kim?", he asked lovingly and wrapped his arms loosely around your waist.
"i'm not mrs. kim yet.", you said and put a hand on his chest.
"my kids call you mom.", he argued.
"doesn't make me a kim legally, though.", you responded with a giggle.
"you've been mrs. kim for a long time in my heart already", he grinned in a cheesy manner, "and you're about to put the last of your furniture in my house now. so i think the official papers are nothing but a formality."
he leaned in a placed a soft kiss on your lips, only a quick one because he knew that you didn't actually like doing anything of the sort while still at work. even if you were in the parking lot, and not on school grounds, you never knew who was watching.
"good afternoon, newlyweds!", joshua said with a grin as he walked past and you sighed as you watched the man walk up to his car nonchalantly.
"let's go home, yeah?", mingyu asked.
"i'd love that.", you smiled
