Nothing in my head but with Levi after a wedding.
It was your friend's wedding, and you were the maid of honour. You were up since 5 in the morning. Making sure the wedding went on smoothly was challenging, but getting the wedding dinner ready was a nightmare.
The decoration company missed the red carpet, and they had to go back and get it. The catering people came in too early, the food might get cold too soon. The dessert bar person-in-charge was running late. You were pushing and pulling tables around to make sure there was enough space for the bride and groom's first dance. You went through the guest list again and again, crossing out names and qriting names again and again. 2 more people coming for table 3, another person from table 14 can't make it, a baby chair for table 8, vegan meal for table 9, and Mary from table 7 is lactose intolerant.
You paced around putting door gifts on each seat, making sure there was enough glasses for each table, replacing dirty napkins with clean ones. You even worked on the sound system with the DJ.
All this while, Levi was trailing behind you like a little duck. Helping you whenever he could. Table 5 and table 6 were too close together? He pulled them apart. Baby chair for table 8? He got it from the store room, and even wiped it down. Decoration company struggling with the red carpet? He got on his knee and helped with it.
Levi was there at the reception when you had to do your makeup before the dinner started. He ticked the names on the guest list, directed them to their respective tables, and gave out extra door gifts to children. When you stepped out of the powder room, Levi had seated almost everyone.
During the wedding dinner, photoes and videos of the bride and groom were shown on a big screen. Tears and laughter shared in the hall. And one of the bridesmaids caught the bouquet. You were tipsy at the end of the event. Drinking nothing but beer and wine as old friends kept toasting for whatever small reasons. You insisted on staying to help, but the bride and the groom ushered you home as they said "you're drunk, y/n, go home! You've done enough, and we can't thank you enough!"
As you walked, arms linked with Levi, stumbling barefeeted toward the lift. He was holding you steady and carrying your bag of trinkets (you said "just in case someone needs a nail clipper, or a bandage, or an extra pair of socks!") with your shoes dangling on his fingers. He helped you into the lift and pressed "G" at the bottom of the buttons. The doors closed, with only you both alone in the lift.
With your eyes closed, you leaned onto him. "What a busy day. Thanks for putting up with me, Levi." You turned your head, inhaled his scent of a mixture of sweet wine, salty sweat and clean shampoo before placing a kiss on his ear. You meant it for his cheek.
"Sad I didn't catch the bouquet," you pouted.
Levi snaked his arm around your waist and pulled you in. You fell onto him, your arms wrapped around his shoulders. You giggled at the sudden movement. "Levi!" Playfully, you slapped his arm softly. Your eyes locked, and you could see a clear determination in his silvery blue eyes.
"I will marry you, Y/n. I will marry you even without the bouquet."
The lift was quiet. You were breathing in the air he breathed out. You knew he meant it. And when he kissed you, you kissed him back. Fiercely. Passionately. Your palm on his cheek. His hand on the back of your head. You tasted him. You tasted his love. You tasted his promise.
And when the lift reached and the doors opened, you walked out, feeling like you just got married.

Supermay!: Superman Vs the Elite: Chunky Greatness (Comissioned by Brotoman.exe)
Hello all you happy last sons, daughters and that beautiful rainbow inbetween of krypton and welcome back to SuperMay! Last time I took a look at a true classic in superman's long history What's So Funny About Truth Justice and the American Way? You can find that review here
What's So Funny... was a rousing sucess, not only leading to Manchester Black coming back a few times, but the elite getting their own justice league spinoff i've never read. Black would also show up quite a bit post-rebirth, before his recent death so Lex Luthor could make everyone forget Superman's secret identity.. or else. Note that this is lex trying to HELP superman. Lex can't even try to do good without doing a murder, suprising no one.
Despite his promience though so far Black has only shown up thrice in other media: In the arrowverse for Supergirl, in the lego batman games, and in today's subject. While it was likely hard to put black in kid shows because his job, hobby and what gets him off at night are all murder, DC had another way to animate this wanker and adapt this story: The DC Universe Animated Movies
Yeah while many a nerd know of them and i'm sure most nerds reading this post know, a refresher: the DC Universe Animated Movies are direct to video movies put out by dc multiple times a year. They've been doing this since 2007 Superman Doomsday with July's Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3 being the 55th film overall. They've adapted tons of stories from the comics: The Death of Superman (Twice!), Justice League the New Frontier (A personal faviorite), JLA Earth 2, JLA Tower of Babel, Batman: Hush, Batman: The Long Halloween, The Dark Knight Returns, Under the Hood, the first two arcs of Batman/Superman, several tales of the green lantern corps stories, Superman: Braniac, Justice League Origin, Flashpoint, Throne of Atlantis, Batman and Son, The Killing Joke, The New Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, Superman: Red Son,Batman Year One and the doom that came to gotham, cumilating in their soon to be completed three part adaptation of Crisis on Infinite Earths. The adaptations vary from fairly loyal, to loose as a goose and ready to gander, but i'ts nice to see so many stories get direct adaptations. Some are better than others sure, but it's nice to see DC's finest on the screen since some wouldn't work for live action, either due to budget or the simple mechanics of running a film shared universe.
So that brings us back around to today's film: Superman Vs The Elite. SVE, and god is it nice to have a story that I can reduce to a simple acronym, is the sixth superman film made for these, fifth if you only count full length ones but Superman/Shazam: the return of black adam is too good not to even at only half an hour. DC tends to focus on it's big cash cows, hence the early films mostly being superman, batman, superman and batman or the justice league, with green lantern being the notable exception as they wanted to cash in on his hit movie with first flight.. then greenlit first flight despite that hit being directly to the face because it made me personally happy. I have to assume. We also got the very first wonder woman film and weirdly DESPITE diana's spike in sucess post her solo film only that one and the godawful bloodlines. The films WOULD loosen up in terms of scope in the late 2010's and 2020's, with films for the Teen Titans, Justice Society, Suicide Squad, Justice League Dark, Harley Quinn and Constantine, but it's still very bat and league heavy.
Out of the 55 films so far (counting the soon to be released Crisis Part 3), 15 star batman (including the Batman/Sueprman Duology) and a whopping FORTY OUT OF 55 FILMS, 43 out of 58 if we count stuff they weridly left out like the RWBY crossover and the choose your own adventure adaptation of batman. I love batman but my god give him a fucking break dc.
Anywayas point is they love their man of tommorow too, and it's telling out of a collection of his more recent and influentual stories this one got called up for adaptation, others before this being his death and return (which , once again, got adapted AGAIN for a fuller adaptation later on.. and yes I own both adaptations), the two big opening arcs of Batman/Superman, the all-time classic and goat All-Star Superman which I plan to cover next supermay (And would gladly cover earlier on comission or if I had the time), and after this one Braniac, the Geoff Johns classic redefining the character.
This film's also notable is out of the MANY adaptations present it's one of only TWO films to be written by the same writer as the story it's adapting, the other being Judd Winnick on Under the Red Hood. Darwyn Cooke likewise seemed to at least consult on new frontier, which is good as that story is that man's heart and soul and one I'm kicking myself for not thinking to review sooner. Seriously check it or the film out. True masterpiece.
This isn't a knock against the other adaptations, there's a lot of good ones in there, it's just remakrable. it also makes sense why tap Kelly: At this point Kelly had been running Man of Action stuidos for 7 years having co-created Ben 10 and Generator Rex, both shows I highly love, along with Ben 10 spinoff Alien Force which I also dearly loved and was showrun by the late great dwayne mcduffie, who also wrote a lot of direct to video films including what i'm told is a truly excellent adaptation of All-Star Superman I still need to check out.
So Kelly was an experinced hand at animation, and Winnick likewise was, having created and written a decent chunk of the Life and Times of Juniper Lee. So it does make a bit more sense to tap these guys when they know how to screenwrite for animation already.
Kelly does a phenominal job here, expanding the story and making the elitie more fleshed out characters. Their still assholes, but you understand them a bit more and the ones who don't wear a union jack get to actually talk. Also Coldcast is no longer wearing the most unintentionally racist outfit i've seen in an american comic, for the love of god don't send me competitors. The result is a film that's also awesome. Yeah like the story it's based on I won't hide that I loved this film on watch. It's not perfect, what is, but it is still an exellent film that wonderfully expands on an already great story to make it better. So join me under the cut as the world's saved.. but humanity is lost.
SVE is intresting as an adaptation in that it has the same core, a new group of up and coming superheros shows a darker way of doing things superman disapproves of and they come into conflict over it, but takes an entirely diffrent approach to pacing and the elitie themselves. The Original Story hits you lik ea train, starting with a dead gorilla, piling up the bodies nad having the elitie be pretty one note assholes.. they raise valid points, but Manchster is also portrayed as a racist asshole, constantly saying racist shit and then saying "I can say that because i'm one 45th something", something I forgot to bring up in the original review. I mean he's dead on for Mark Millar's version of the Authority, props to that, but otherwise as they are in the original story, the Elitie are just assholes who think they know better and we only get hints of WHY their like this.
The film .. still only gives hints for the non Manchester members, Minager's backstory with the men in black is removed as their absent from the film, but treats them more as people. Not good people by the end, but more as indivduals and it makes the story stronger. We meet the elitie not as swaggering gods, but as swaggering newbies. Their powerful, but at first have no idea what their doing or the true limits of their powers.
So it also gives us a nice dynamic that helps deepens things wholly unique to this film: Superman.. mentors the elite. When he first meets them stopping an attack from warring nations Bialya and Polkistan, which naturally are both very real nations from superman comics. Biyala was a longtime hive of criminals first showing up in one of my all time faviorite comics, Justice League International as a stand in for middle eastern countries, being a small one itself, and picking up traction afterwords while Polkistan was ran by a version of General Zod that wasn't kryptonian. It was a weird time.
This war between the two is a new addition, replacing both the attack on japan and the men in black from the original.. and it's one I like. It fits the Elite better that the thing their interfering in is two warring dictators who don't care who gets hurt in the crossfire and puts more of a face to the ones their caving in. It's easy to say superman could've dealt with super samurai metal men or the worse version of men and black, harder to have him deal with two nations who refuse to just sit down and talk instead of killing civilians to send a message. They still use fantastical means, the Elite first meet clark when he's trying to take down some bioweapons and are key in helping him stop them.
It's also neat to see how both sides greet each other: Superman.. acts how clark always does with a new hero: he's encouraging, kind, and the only negative he has is some gentle cricisim on collteral damage, a nice bit of foreshadowing to the team becoming what it later is. Likewise the eliite are all happy to meet him, with Manchester dropping the swaggering ego he puts up to be genuinely excited like a little kid. Unlike his comics counterpart Manchester still looks up to superman when this starts and it's adorable and humanizes the asshole really well. The others are also mostly starstruck.. except minagre. She's just super horned up. But like in the comics at the time of the original story, Clark's married so, nope.
The rest of the Elitie are fleshed out more here. Manchester's still the focus character and thus the most fleshed out, getting more depth, but the rest of his crew have actual personalities. The Hat is playful and likes to drink a LOT (the last part was in the comic but is more emphasiesed here), Menagire is flirtatious to a creepy and predatory degree (something to the film's credit seems intentioanl) and Coldcast is sarcastic. Their not super deep, but they make the eliite feel like characters and not hired goons.
Superman seeks the elitie out not because their a danger this time.. but because he geninely wants to know them better and help mentor them. We don't get to see Clark mentor often when it's not Kara, so it's another nice addition to the story.
They end up meeting again in London as .. well Manchester Black, while a mystery to the world, wears a flag on his chest and speaks in a cockney accent. Even Black can't help but poke fun at how fucking obvious a step this was, but in another nice touch instead of being touchy welcomes superman into his past, happy to give out his secret origin.
While we got Chester's origin in the comics, this one is more involved and likely what Kelly flehsed out when he wrote the character more later: here he was a tween whose dad was an abusive alchollic rather than a soldier who died in war, the fourth of five kids, his sister the fifth, and none really loved or wanted. He eventually leaves, taking his sister with him for her own saftey and the two scrape by stealing wallets. Unfortunatlaly a constable is lead to them by one of the couples they stole from and the ensuing confrontation, predictably for police, ends with her nearly getting ran over by a train.. till Chester's powers kicked in. Then a bunch of stuff happened he dosen't get into and boom. He HEAVILY implies she died.. but the fact he dosren't say it outright naturally means sh'es alive.
The film wisely plays with this later, revealing that the story is true.. black just sanded off the rougher edges: he KILLED his dad and the train he stopped injured a lot of people. What I like about this though is the lie dosen't come off as Black simply being a manipulative wank phesant. Partially yes, the way he phrases Vera's death is bad.. but it could simply be knowing Superman may not take the news as well, that his hero may abandon him and his friends. Both acts are also gray: he did kill his dad sure.. but we never see the actual act and Chester WAS still a young teenager at the time. He coul'dve easily ratonalized that it was the only way to save his sister. Or simply could've given in to his darker impulses. I'm a lot easier on a scared child whose being acvtively abused than a grown ass man who could've gotten therapy. Same with the train: he knew he could influnce minds from the papa murder but didn't know his telekenisis coudl stretch that far. That one Clark probably would've understood more as growing pains. Finally with Vera it could just be annoyance she didn't join him in quitting the agency or manipulation. I like that the film leaves it vauge instead of making Chester out to just be this massive dick crater. He grows INTO that but i'ts more itnresting to have some ambiguity into how manipulative he was being.
Superman has the elitie help with a nearbye tunnel collapse with a train from terroists.. something their not sure they CAN do as they've only used their powers in combat. Superman however is an excellent leader, it's hinted at the league exists here but wisely they arne't fully mentioned. For all we know he was chairman of the legion at one point and still superboy here. But he's a natural leader and helps the elitie stretch their powers.
The problem is that as much as Superman WANTS to help these new younger hereos learn to be the best they can be... they have diffrent ideas. The divide here is summed up best with this quote from another franchise, from Grant Morrison's incredible run on New X-Men
It's the simple but painful divide that happens as Manchester brutally interrogates a terroist: Superman has his dream of a better world, of inspiring hope to make it so.. and Chester has one of remaking it in his image. Of taking it away from the hands of those he deems to be children playing dangerous war games that end with real bodies strewn across continents. As much as Clark WANTED to guide them.. it was already too late. The world had already made Chester decide what he wanted to be long before he met supes and while he respects the man.. the two ultimately can't coexist. That respect makes Chester more intresting as rather than be just an edgelord who wanted to show up superman, he's simply a 20 something who sees a broken world and has the power to change it and wonders "Why don't we?" instead of seeing it's more complicated than that. By making Chester more of an actual human instead of a mark millar character, it makes the story hit harder and the darker roads he goes down hit harder. IN anotehr world the elitie would've been having teamups with the tians or the justice society, helping make the world better best they can even if they hit harder. Here though... they choose another way.. a way Superman simply can't follow and that puts them at odds. To use x-men again...
Things escalate after two events: Black's message to the world which this time.. we actually get to see which I feel makes it more effective. Having him broadcast to the world "You asked for us world, now you have us". It both instantly puts superman off his game and shows what the Elitie's real plan is.
They also make a welcome change to the attack in japan, now in Biayla: besides the setting being more plot relevant... superman's disabling is unintentional. They still slaughter a bunch of people horrifying clark, but it feels like less of an intentional dick move and fits the change in tone: in the original they were trying to piss superman off. Here it was friendly fire.. but it's clear they've now crossed a line he can't let them keep crossing by slaughting soldiers.
The film is good in asking the question: Should heroes be super proactive and make the world better by force.. or do everything they can within reason? Not buckle to the system.. but not break it over their knees either.
This all brilliantly comes to a head with atomic skull, a plot point i"ve been keeping on the sidelines so let's move it on up front: Before the elitie arrive we get two important events. The first is a dig at superman's cheesiness as Clark lisenses out a very goofy cartoon. I also like when lois presses him on this he points out his procedes ARE going to charity and he has someone looking at it. And he's just so happy to
The more important one is a fight with Atomic Skull. Atomic Skull is a recurring superman villian i'm not super familiar with whose had a dozen iterations... with this version choosing none of them, instead being a remorsless killer with radioactive powers.
He's a good choice though: a villian superman can't depower like certain other parties, who kills and will again and thus brings front and center the biggest part of a debate on the effectivness of normal costumed heroes, a piece somewhat missing from the original with it's faceless goons and men in black: Should a hero kill so a villian dosen't kill again?
The answer Superman gives, and I support is.. no. Gratned i'll add the asterix of "Unless there's no other option". Sometimes your only option is to kill a being or let it kill untold others. Shockingly NOT using x-men for this example, even though I have one ready, let's instead look at Man of Steel. Yes. We're going to THAT scene. And honestly while I have major issues with Man of Steel and most of them involve one man who thankfully chucked himself into a tornado but unthankfully came back as a ghost because god hates me, the idea of the climax isn't one of them.
For those less familiar in the climax Zod, on the verge of defeat, starts letting loose with his eye beams. He's preapred to kill EVERY PERSON he can just to spite clark.. so Clark begs and begs him not to.. and then snaps his neck when it's clear he has no other option. Now do I think having superman kill in his first film was a good idea? no, not at all. But for all Zack Snyder dosen't get Supes... he gets he'd only kill with no other option. If it's this one person or millions in that moment and no where else. No one else could stop zod and he didn't have time or knowledge to incapacitate him. He made the ahrd call and it tore him up. .until it didn't but this is a film where Clark's dad thinks throwing himself into a tornado is more important than clark doing the right thing with his powers sooooo
My point is, unless the situation is that dire.. you shoudln't. If your skilled enough, you can find another way. There's a fine line between doing so because your backed into a corner with no way out.. and diong so because "let's make the bastard pay". It's easier to kill when you have a choice, when you can justify it in your head... and thus it becomes easier. and easier. Until it stops being "because their a genuine threat" and because "They disagree with me". "because it's all I know" or worst of all "because it's fun".
And that all comes together... for the death of the Atomic Skull. The Elitie try to handle it while superman' son the way, get their asses kicked, and are forced to accept his help, despite having humilated him. Our heroes win.. but then comes the breaking point. In the original the killing was just..t here.. but here.. it's been built to slowly, a nicely slow boil over the whole run time: Superman treid his best.. but Manchester Black was a powderkeg waiting to go off.. .and he asks someone to give him a light.
Now remember how I mentioned a UN member was helping superman? Same guy clearly belivied in him and was even shown defending him against Rush Limbaugh. A few more years and it would've been tucker carlson, a good load more and it would'v ebeen.. uh... that other generic white guy they got to replace hm after he got thrown under a bus.
So naturally.. the poor man dies, his son having rushe dout to see his heroes the elitie.. only to instead see his father dies. The following scene is just.. pure pain, it's well done. The kid BEGS superman to kill Atomic Skull.. but he dosen't. It's not what his father would've wanted and would be a stain on his memory. But grief.. grief dosen't care what the person who died wanted... pain dosen't care.. and vengance... dosen't wait. Black, taking advantage of the poor teen, says to "Say the word kid"... and with one do it... Clark can only gape in horror as Atomic Skull dies.. and the crowd ERRUPTS. Only Lois and Jimmy are horrified as a man dies. Did the atomic skull deserve to die? Probably.
He killed a lot of people and you can understand where UN Guy JR was coming from.. yet it dosen't bring his dad back. It dosen't undo all the lives lost. It stops more from being killed.. but also outlines the probelm. People CHEERING for their heroes to kill someone, egging them on, telling them to kill kill. Turning normal people into a bloodthirsty mob who preys fo rthier heroes to kill their enemies. It's the other reason why don't kill: Because it gives the people you inspire the wrong message: that we will solve your problems for you and we will spill blood for you our masses. Pray to your new gods and we will deliver unto you blood.
Now i'm not saying superheroes should never intervene, fuck no, and like I said there are times to kill.. bu tyou see the problem with letting them solve every problem of the world: not only would humanity stagnate, relying on their saviors to do everything for thema nd tell them what to think... but they cease becoming seen as men and become gods. Vengeful gods who can do whatever the fuck they want. It's waht the Manga Death Note and i'ts anime adaptation got at: you let someone be ultimate judge, and they will develop a god complex and what morals they have slip. Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely, and tha'ts why heroes don't give themselves absolute power even if they can move suns.
And it's what the elitie have become: four 20 somethings with a god complex who decide they make the rules and anyone else can die slow die fast now.
This is where the movie dovetails more into the comic as the last act or so adapts it pretty closely, iwth a few bits rearranged: the public starts to cheer the elitie and the scene with the kid saying "superman is so beat"
And clark's talk with ihs dad are in tact, simply done a touch later. Superman's also not AS afraid of the elitie here.
So we payoff the Bialya Polkistan war runner: Superman stops a conlfict with zero loss of life, knowing the elitie are watching.... only this time rather than threaten to kill someone... Manchester did it 20 minutes ago.. or more like two. He just went and killed the heads of state. And the thing was Clark WASN'T sitting it out or planning to let the war go on: he was going to force the two to sit down, an option I badly wish we had in the real world. Instead.. all Chester's done is create a massive power vaccum in two countries already teeming iwth bioweapons and regular weapons. He's removed a diseased lung but taken both countires kidnies, heart and spleen and mugged the patient whlie he was at it. It's the problem with the Elitie's move fast, break things approach: they solve an issue for NOW.. but leave a giant clusterfuck to solve later. And "I'm going to kill you if you don't do better" only works as long as your alive or someone doesn't find a way to kill you for being a tyranical wank phesant.
Superman stews in his fortress.. and the elitie visit and offer him an ultimatium: stay in his lane or else. Clark responds by clocking chester... and Chester decides if your not part of the problem.. etc etc. Tommorow. Noon. Be there.
It's here I want to give some props to Manchester Black's voice actor, Robin Atkin Downes, a vetran voice actor i'd heard of vaugely but didn't really know what parts he played, I haven't gotten around to playing the no more heroes trilogy yet after all. He's done a LOT of dc work including for these films and absolutely kills it as black, bringing that nice combo of arrogance and genuine fire that black has. When you have a character that makes a LOT of grandoise speeches, you need someone who can deliver them with pure power and fire and Downes does so beautifully. Downes gets that right combo of snotty kid and broken man that we need.
We get the lois and clark scene again and i'll say in this film.. Lois is done dirty. She's played by Pauley Perette of NCIS fame, part of DC"s weird obssession with hiring actors from random prime time shows to do the big parts. This film mostly dodges that but she sticks out in a sea of voice actors. At any rate she does her best.. but Lois is just underwritten here. Her needling clark at the start is about th ebest we get: she spends most of the film looking into black's history a good idea.. but her method is just "Scream at mi 6 and hav eblack's sister hand her the goods, then the british government somehow blocks the story despite Metropolis being in america and the US usually not giving that much of a shit." I'd suggest sex blackmail but then the idea of perry white having sex nearly imploded my brain so I won't be going down that rabbit hole. Unless he was fucking bugs bunny, then i'ts impressive. Bugs is a fuck machine.
The climax.. plays out almost exactly as in the comic. While this adaptation changes a lot to make a more compelling story, the end point.. really didn't need to be fucked with. It's remarkable just how much they straight up adapt it. They tone down the violence SLIGHTLY, but only as much as needed to not get this rated R.. if DTV movies get rated r. It' sprobably why bisected Gorilla was left out. RIP Bisected Gorilla
It's chillingly well done. The beat down, superman's hoplesness.. and then... "Thank you". And it's all perfectly delivered by our superman for the evening, George Newbern. Newbern is probably my faviorite superman with close seconds being Tim Daly in Superman the Animated Series (Who Newbern replaced) and Jack Quaid from My Adventures WIth Superman, though Quaid is getting close. I grew up with Newbern's take on justice league, where he evolved Timy Daly's portryal and went on to portray superman a lot when DC neede dhim including in the injustice games.
Newburn nails it here, being the kind, hopeful man we all know.. and then giving us this nightmarish pivot. He makes the wise choice to make superman a soft spoken sadist... to have him not scream at his foes but calmly talk to the elitie as he picks them off one by one. The direction plays this scene like a horror flim and perfectly so, the terror on the Elitei's faces as they each go down, as the killer picks each one off leading it down to blacka nd down to metropolis as the world gazes in horror at what superman has become. It shows what sinking to this level does to you, how EASY it is, and how horrifying it'd be if superman actually did this. We've gotten plenty of "evil superman" takes from Invincible with Nolan to the boys tv show with homelander, that show what an indocirinated good solider or utter bastard with a god complex would do.. but this example still stands out despite all those deconstructions.. because it's clark. Because it's THE superman. It's not someone who wears a similar costume.. it's clark doing it, one of his most recognizable and best performers doing the performance, and it is fucking chilling. The performance was great in the comic.. but it's ASTONISHING here with all the extra florish.
And as before.. it was an act. The film does act like superman actually depowered them all, but I don't think he gave black a lobotomy as the pop is still present and he still zeroes in on the growth his powers come from. So at worst he simply removed a benign growth and at best it was temporary. Some, including tv tropes, think this kinda underminds thing that superman isn't judge and jury.. but I disagree. He didn't kill them, he just took their power away after they'd killed dozens of people and tried to kill him. It's like I said earlier with the superheroes killing thing: if ther'es no other way sure. It's insurance if the elitie hasn't learned there lesson and like the comics he probably coudln't strip them of power permenatnly. It's also why Atomic Skull was a good choice: there's no real way to remove his powers without potetntially killing clark himself, creating a wave of radaition etc. Here.. superman was in a controlled environment for 3/4 and for the last one knew exactly what to do to remove his powers. Superman give shis iconic ending speech about hope and flies off and the movie ends.
This movie.. is a standout, a true classic worth seeking out and most copies aren't super expensive. It takes a great if hard to find story and punches it up considerably, keeping the key points and refining them while making the opposing side less caracatures to make the point stick better. As i've said, Black is accurate to mark millar's writing.. but as a result he's still a strawman. Here he's more a character and the point at large is more fleshed out and naunced: we see the consequences of superman's style of justice.. but then see what would happen if he decided to play it the elitie's way. This film is a true classic and I highly recommend it.
Next Time: Superman fights the Klan as we tackle an old radio serial!

Episode 2 | Previous | Next
So excited to be back with this series. Episodes 3-5 are going to be a bit shorter than usual, but only because I'm in the process of planning a huge slate of parties, plot-changing events, etc. for summer break. Can't wait to share what I've cooked up with you! No additional parts to this episode, so I'll be back with episode 4 as soon as I finish editing my screenshots.
Episode 3: Suddenly Summer
Scene 1 - 28 Windslar
Irving (narrating a montage of the Brookestone-Walker household enjoying the first few days of summer): I hate summer. Okay, maybe that’s a little strong.
I like that, instead of pacing around in the house because rainstorms have flooded her usual trails, Chloe can go for her morning runs. I like that everyone in the house seems to be happier than in the spring, when the six of us first moved in.
(Cut to a political protest in San Myshuno)
Miki Ojo: What do we want?
Yuki Kuma: A living wage!
Miki: When do we want it?
Josh: Now!
(Cut back to Wes and Morgan making out in her apartment building)
Irving: I like that Josh and Wes have found actual hobbies instead of fighting about who gets to use the household computer (it’s mine). Although I’m not sure you can call what Wes gets up to a “hobby”. (He sneaks into the house at 1AM smelling like weed and cat dander.)
But aside from the awful heat—who knew Germany could get as hot as Willow Creek?—and prom fever at school, summer means I cant keep avoiding my biggest irritation: Dr. Crêpes.
Scene 2 - Willow Creek Library
Irving: I don’t even know why I have to be here. I’m doing fine in school. Principal Prescott says I’m a shoo-in for valedictorian next year.
Dr. Crêpes: That’s great, Lindsey!
Irving: Irving. Everyone calls me that.
Dr. Crêpes: Right. Irving. (coughs) Child services recommended that I talk to you weekly to make sure you’re settling in well at your foster home. Now that school’s about to let out, it’s important that you receive all the help you need to remain your best self in the summer.
Irving: What if I don’t need any help?
Dr. Crêpes: Well—
Irving: No, seriously. I was told after my diagnosis that nothing had to change. That I’m fine just the way I am. That I get to define what autism means to me.
Dr. Crêpes: That’s absolutely true, Irving. Don’t get me wrong—I’m not here to upend your life. Think of me as a listening ear for whenever life stresses you out.
Irving (unconvinced): …
Dr. Crêpes: Unless you’re one of the lucky people who never get stressed out, in which case I totally envy you.
Irving: I did not say that.
Dr. Crêpes: Well, then, I’d love to hear anything you’re willing to share.
Irving: You promise not to tell anyone? Not even Audreyanna or Evelyn?
Dr. Crêpes: Therapist’s promise.
Scene 3 - Magnolia Park, Willow Creek
[Invited guests: Mila and Wolfgang Metzinger (aka Munch), Rani Anglond, Marissa Collins, Joy Jentanon, Cassandra Gótico (aka Goth), Morgan Landings (aka Fyres), Gene and Matt Whitmore (latter is @aashwarr's original character and won't be shown on-screen/quoted in these screenshots.]
Irving: Fine. Therapy wasn’t all that bad. And neither was the picnic our foster moms threw to celebrate the beginning of summer. I was surprised to see how many friends the other foster kids invited. I sure didn’t have anyone to invite. Not that I minded.
Cassandra (introducing Matt to Irving and Josh): Hey, Irving, come say hi to Matt. He says you’re in the same computer club.
Irving (cloudgazing): No, thanks. I’m trying to find video game characters in the clouds.
Joy (walking up to them): Aren’t you that guy who wrote that political op-ed in the school paper last week?
Josh: Am I?
Joy: Of course you are. I’m never wrong about these things. Josh, right?
Josh: Maybe. And you are...?
Joy: Joy. Chloe invited me. Your foster moms seem cool.
Josh: I’ll pass along the compliment. Didn’t think anyone actually read the paper. You into politics?
Joy: Very. I like to keep on top of things.
Josh: Well, Joy, it’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance.
Joy (smirking): Spare me. I hated your take.

A Promotional Press Release For Foodfight! The Junior Novelization
Hey everyone, it's Tiffany Amber back once again with something NEW to share! A while back, while searching to see if the Foodfight! novelization was documented anywhere other than my ownership of seemingly the only existing copy, I came across the Random House book catalog from the fall of 2007, and given they were the company that published the novelization, I decided to skim through and see if Foodfight! was mentioned anywhere within its hundreds of pages. Much to my surprise it WAS, and it's almost as interesting as the novelization itself! First off, it's the only place I've seen it officially acknowledged outside of a very brief mention on the movie's website back in 2008- not that movie novelizations are highly promoted to begin with, but it's been an enigma for some time how just how little information is out there about this book or why only a single copy has ever surfaced. With this catalog excerpt however, I think we have some answers.
So first off, the movie's release date is mentioned here as being November 16th 2007. Not that this is especially unusual- the official Foodfight! website displayed a tentative release date of "Fall 2007" for quite some time, but the film must have been close to completion at this point for them to have an exact date laid out. As to why this date wasn't met?
I can't say, but just under a year later, a post on the film's IMDb message board indicated that the film had been finished, and that screenings were being held in New York. This tracks with a comment from a crewmember in 2011 mentioning they "saw this movie at a Threshold screening back when it was completed" and makes it clear beyond all doubt that Foodfight was actually finished back in 2008 (if you can actually call the film that came out "finished") Why wasn't it released until 2012 and why did they sit on the movie for 4 years after it had already been completed? Well now I'm just getting off track, but it's curious they held off on releasing it for so long when all the tie-in marketing and merchandising was ready to go that year and their releases would've actually lined up (indeed, blog posts from around 2008 mention seeing various Foodfight! books and soft toys in bargain-bin stores despite the movie not being out yet)
The catalog goes on to mention they were expecting "over $100 million in marketing support" (yeah, and monkeys might fly out of my butt) as well as various other tie-in products that were set to be released. These include toys from Playmates and video games from Global Star Software, both of which I've covered in previous blog posts and were ultimately never released, but also mention board games by a company called Master Pieces and apparel by CK Pacific, which I've never seen mentioned anywhere in relation to the movie. It's interesting just how deep the rabbit hole goes with Foodfight! merchandise, and just how much they were planning that never even made it to store shelves.
The catalog also shows a display of various Foodfight! books set to be released, among them our beloved novelization we've spent so much time discussing on here. However, there are several OTHER Foodfight! books shown there about which no information has ever surfaced. The following pages contain further details about each book, but they hardly tell you anything about what they would've consisted of- each of the blurbs are just a generic description of the movie's plot, along with some incredibly brief clarification as to the contents of the books. There's a full-color storybook called Mission Marketropolis, a "Step 2 Reader" called Dare The Day, the Junior Novelization, a sticker book called The Secret's Inside, a coloring book called Top Dog, and a paint book called When Good Food Goes Bad. Outside of the novelization, not a single copy of any of these books has ever surfaced, and the catalog doesn't give any further insight as to their content.
So, did these books ever actually even exist? I'm sure they did! After all, if they went to the trouble of having a 128-page novelization written, I'm sure they'd do the same for several other, smaller books. Some of the books even have Amazon pages, although all of them claim their availability is limited and they're out of print. Is it possible they were never even IN print? That these books were created with the intent of being widely published and distributed, but the deal fell through for whatever reason, and only a few copies of each were ever printed? I'm just spitballing at this point, but if that were true it'd certainly go a long way to explaining why I seemingly own the only copy of the novelization in existence. Incidentally, the other Foodfight! books I've mentioned on this blog (the Deluxe Sound Storybook and I Can Find It! books) were published by a completely different company known as Meredith Books, and so wouldn't have been affected by whatever was going on with the books set to be published by Random House. The whole thing is still something of an enigma, but this catalog at least helps clear up a few lingering questions. However, in the process it does raise another..
For some reason, the catalog uses an incredibly janky and off-model version of this Dex render on one of the book's covers, and I have literally NO IDEA why. It looks like a completely different model that's been posed in an attempt to replicate the original render, but the cover on the book's Amazon page uses the better-looking, more dynamically-posed version anyway, and surely they would've had a copy of the original lying around to use instead of recreating the whole thing with a different model, but it's not even the Dex model actually SEEN in the movie, and if the Amazon page used the original render then what was the point in making an entirely new one just for this insanely obscure book catalog, and... and... and... what the hell?
And so with that oddity having left my brain scrambled like an egg, I... gotta stop thinking about Foodfight! for a little while. But rest assured, I'll be back soon! I know a bunch of posts I've made recently seem like filler, but this is a big, BIG year for Foodfight! fans, and with the documentary on the way there's a lot I'm not allowed to talk about just yet. But once it is, the floodgates are open! On top of that, I have another Foodfight! book coming in the mail very soon, one I've been waiting a LONG time to get my hands on... that's right, I'm going to finally be talking about and analyzing the Deluxe Sound Storybook!

The opening screen 0:01 has text that reads "DEC 31 1999" and "the world will stop spinning". We don't know the significance of Spamton favorite year 1997 yet but this means it's after. This could be a reference to the world revolving and the time also says 11:11 which also has a superstition of making wishes at that time. Jevil says That "we" as in everyone aren't free but he is. I don't know if he knows about the difference between the player and Kris but ai wanted to point this out.
At 0:06 the text reads "A SWEET SURPRISE AWAITS" and "THOSE WHO ARE PATIENT WILL ENJOY LOVES BOUNTY!". This could be a hint about chapter 3 involving LOVE. We don't know if Deltarune follows the same rules as Undertale but I think the light world does because we haven't been in a fight there but the menu is the same in the light work but different in the dark world. Also in the photoshop/omega Flowey fight he says "humans, monsters, everyone" and when he says "everyone" his face turns into 3 circles that rotate like Seam's button eye. There's also text in the top left that reads "HEARTS AND CANDY, AINT LOVE DANDY!" I think this is about the soul because they share the same shape. I also think this could be hinting at dark candys significance to LOVE but as far as we know Dark Candy could just be any regular healing itern. We don't know if Deltarune follows the same rules but I think the light world does because we haven't been in a fight there but the menu is the same in the light work but different in the dark world.
In the next transition 0:14 the text reads "WHAT IS LOVES SECRET? THIS HEART WILL REVEAL THE TRUTH!" The text about the heart revealing the truth could be connected to the soul as they again share a shape and color as kris' soul.
At 0:18 the heart opens and we see a man. I don't know who that is but the text also changes to "OOPS WE SPILL THE BEANS! LOVE'S SECRET HAS BEEN REVEALED". It's really hard to catch the text changing as the clearest thing is the man appearing and I think that's important because it's meant to draw attention away from the text. The man is shown playing Spamton B. Spamton later in the video (I'll get to that) and based off the text once again I think the secret to LOVE lies within the heart/soul.
At 0:20 we see Spamton looking at a picture all the way to the right. In the bottom left of the picture it kind of looks like there's a red heart but personally it's too blurry and I can't tell.
At 0:30 we see little cupids which typically spread love in culture. They're also holding bows with hearts on the end of them. At 0:41 we see a picture on a wall that has two red hearts and text reading "Love Lasts forever". In Undertale we know LOVE lasts forever because of the changed pacifist ending after genocide.
At 0:48 we see another opened heart this time with lunchables inside. This could mean nothing or again be hinting at the significance of food and LOVE like that candy statement earlier. We also see red tables with more hearts on them but I don't think this is significant.
At 1:09 when Spamton is running in place we can see inside the basket he's holding. We can see Spamton before his transformation, a red heart on the front, but also round blue objects. The red heart is just more of the soul. There's also red hearts on the curtain behind him. Now the round blue objects are probably supposed to be pipis but it would be more interesting if they were blue eggs because they could have connection to Berdly and given the motif of the soul and LOVE throughout this video it could mean multiple things. I think for the different normal routes maybe he gets stronger and returns wielding "the power of love" (not LOVE) motivated by Susie. I think this has more significance for the weird route though. It could mean he's really dead and all of these references represent the LOVE we gained from killing him. I like the idea that this means he's not really dead and he could return after increasing his own LOVE to "save" Noelle from Kris (the player really).
At 1:15 we see red chairs and more red hearts.
At 1:59 Spamton V. says "We are celebrating love, kissing, love and espamton". I think he says love because one is "love" and one is LOVE.
#there's so much. oh my god. I got an error message saying I reached the limit. hello#for some reason saying the lunchables heart “could mean nothing” is killing me#chats & facts

Transcript from Misha Collins M&G at #DLConline
“Cas has meant a great deal to many, especially LGBT fans have seen themselves in him over the years. So now that he has confessed his love for Dean, and seemingly come out, how do you feel about his confession?”
I feel mostly good about it. I talked to Berens, about this ending, a year and a half ago. It was a long time in the making. It was really important to him and really important to me. When he pitched me the storyline it gave me chills. I thought - this is awesome. This vindication and this expression of love - at the end - it makes it all worth it. I was really happy about it. You know, it’s interesting, there are some fans who are asexual who have taken solace in the fact that Cas hasn’t made this kind of declaration [before] so I feel bad that those fans might get a little bit alienated. However, I’m sure that a lot of them are also okay with this. There’s a trope in Hollywood of “kill the gays” and so Cas meeting with his demise only seconds after making this homosexual declaration of love fits into that fairly insidious trope, however, for some reason, that is, in my mind, not really as important as the declaration itself. I completely understand people being upset over that. I think that, in the end, of Supernatural, everyone is going to die. I’ve always known that, that’s not a spoiler, I’ve always known that, it’s how the show has to end. But how they die and what quality that death takes has resonance and importance in the Supernatural universe. I think… In the end, that won’t prove to be the lasting point of Castiel’s. I know the intention in the crafting of the story wasn’t to use the “kill the gays” trope. Could Cas have lived in the space of having made that declaration in relation to Dean for longer before dying? Perhaps. But there’s something so dramatically poignant about that particular moment and that particular exit… I don’t know, I’m now getting a little bit too heavy about it.
“I’m still seeing a lot of people online saying ‘oh no, that was totally platonic’. Misha, did you play it as romantic love, does that terminology even make sense for an angel?”
I was actually gonna write an op-ed about the character’s end. Then I decided not to, because I don’t really want the fictional narrative to be dictated by my analytical take on it. I want the story to live and breathe on its own for people to interpret as they want to interpret it. I could just lay down the line and say, “No, this is how it is… Your interpretation is wrong”. I know what Cas is thinking. I know what was going on in my head as I played that scene. I don’t think it was ambiguous. But there is… I guess I’m about to do what I said I wasn’t gonna do… I will say… We’ve always said, “People can interpret this however they want to interpret this. This is a work of fiction”. But I think we did things, we said things that were pretty unequivocal. There’s of course the whole issue of him being an angel, he’s an energetic being from a multidimensional… Or whatever that line was that Ben Edlund wrote about Cas. You know. What does that mean for an entity such as Cas? I suppose one could go down that intellectual rabbit hole. But I think we know what was going on there.
When do you think Cas knew he was in love with Dean? When did you know? Was it at the same time?
I mean… I’ve been playing it for a while. But I knew this was the ending for more than a year of shooting. I knew where the arc was taking us for that time. So Cas certainly knew it for at least a year. But… But you know, it also is an interesting thing to observe. He says, “The one thing I want is the one thing I can’t have” and I think repression is a very powerful tool. I think a lot of people live under such tightly-held repression. They don’t allow themselves to admit things. Often. In the real world. To an extent, that was happening with Cas. That’s my guess.
Did you have a discussion with Jensen about what the reaction would be?
I wish that I remembered more clearly the conversations that Jensen and I had about the ending. I don’t have a really vivid memory of that unfortunately. I do know that I was a little worried because I knew what the ending was long before he did and I think I was a little worried that he was gonna push back on it. If Jensen were to flip out, and said, “We’re not doing that”, we would have not been able to do it. I also think it was very honest to Dean’s character. I actually thought that was a very true [reaction].
If we had a chance to see it, how do you think Dean would have responded?
I don’t know. I honestly don’t know. We never discussed that. To be honest, I don’t think Dean reciprocated with romantic love. This is me speculating. I feel like I’m wading into waters I shouldn’t. This is my take, it’s not Cas’ take because Cas doesn’t know. I don’t know what’s going on in Dean’s head. I shouldn’t speculate. It wasn’t a contingent declaration. It wasn’t “I need you to love me back”, it was a very open-hearted, vulnerable and unconditional declaration.
What was reaction when you heard about the confession scene?
My reaction was “Awesome”. I mean, my first reaction, when Bobo pitched me the idea, was “Oh my god”. I had chills. I was very happy. When I read the first draft… The first draft didn’t have the punch that it needed. I gave some notes. But I was still very happy that we were doing what we were doing.
#misha collins#dlconline#deancas#destiel#spn#i can't share the video as everyone is shown on screen#plus it's technically forbidden#but you can buy the video#or hit me up if you want me to pass on the wetransfer link#anyway i feel like this might help offer some closure#and hearing misha's take just warms my heart#also dean is bi and loves cas back#they run heaven together now#that will be all

If you have never interacted, face to face, with someone, do not give them your full trust. If you're going to tell people to keep their private info private on the internet, you should also be telling people to not trust strangers just because they happen to like the same video game or blorbos or whatever. 'internet friends' are based on who and what they WANT you to see, not who they are. You can't even tell intended tone most of the time through text. Even if whoever is behind the pixels is filling an emotional void for you, even if you consider them real, there is and MUST BE a hell of a difference between the little choir of cognitive bias that lives in your phone and actual human beings.
i have friends i've met online who i've known for years and trust as much as any person i've spoken to face to face, if not more. i've spent more hours of my life than i can count talking to my internet friends over voice calls. i've made plans to meet my internet friends in real life. my internet friends have been there for me at some of my lowest and highest moments. they've shown me genuine care, support and friendship that i know is real and true. those are real people who i regularly interact with and who inspire genuine feelings and actions in me.
sure, not everyone you befriend on the internet is going to be someone you can trust, and you should be more cautious because it's generally easier to lie on the internet, absolutely. but even considering how easily the internet can be used as a tool for harm by people with bad intentions, this is a weirdly extreme conclusion to draw. it's okay and normal to share things with someone who you've spent time building a relationship of mutual trust and respect with, whether in person or online. do you think that people you meet face to face don't have private lives you can't see and secrets they can hide? do you think people you meet face to face can't also lie and manipulate and hurt you? because i can tell you from personal experience that they 100% can. and how do you expect to make friends if not by connecting through common interests and going from there? that's literally how friendship works?
and you chose an extremely rude and condescending way to make your point? my internet friends are just as much real human beings as my friends i've met in the real world. people don't stop being people when they're behind a screen, and i hate the idea that they do with a passion. you chose the wrong person to send an ask like this to. i don't agree with anything you said here beyond your advice to be careful who you share your information with online, and i'm struggling to figure out how you misinterpreted me reblogging a heartwarming post about internet friendships being just as real as irl friendships in such bad faith that you decided i'm encouraging people to share their information with anyone who's nice to them. and i'm not impressed by the lack of respect or even basic decency you've shown me by talking to me like i'm a stupid child in this ask, but considering that you just said you don't consider people you talk to online to be real people i guess i shouldn't be surprised. i hope of you read this you reconsider how you approach people and the assumptions you make about them.
#sorry everyone who has to read this for typing up paragraphs this ask just really pissed me off#long post

Thoughts on Audio findings
I originally had this typed up on phone but THAT got lost when I had to put it down in the middle of typing to do something because it needed my attention. Came back to it to find that my tumblr app decided to close the tab... so all that was lost. -angy rifter noises- So starting this over AGAIN... I realized I never typed up my thoughts and guess of what was going on in the audio files. I was functioning at 4 hours of sleep yesterday and I had things to do but I had promised to at least get those files out there for everyone. I rushed to get them out there that my brain dead, too tired to think properly self forgot to do the... you know thing of explaining what I thought of what I found. And for that I apologize, I'm sure some of you were curious of what I thought about them and provide a theory for it. And I will provide it here.
But I do want to get something clear, I know I missed a few things in my run around deciphering audio; like Echo's conversation with Chase. I know people burn for it but with my current dismal skill of Audacity and audio editing in general, I couldn't do anything to see if there was any actual words in there or it was just sounds that only Chase (currently for now) could understand and leave us to guess what the hell was being said. For all we know the sounds Echo gives are some kind of code, I don't know. I don't even have the basic understanding of editing or usage of Audacity to even begin to pick that apart. The there's the whispers of Anti's mental assault on Chase's psyche, there's so much going on in there I... couldn't even begin to know where to start on working with that. That's why I gave the full audio of the video in the files I provided in my previous post. Take a crack at it and share it. Heh, We all want to know! Now, I can provide what I heard with a few audio bits. I'm sorry for the wait! I apologize for the volume for the files, I forgot I was wearing a pair of headphones that have its own volume so I had like 2-3x the volume control... which led me to not really change the volume in the files... but I will add these to the google drive for download and you can fiddle with the volume. Though in hindsight, I think that's for the best; with my shitty audacity skills, I could have blown out people's ears. And that would be bad. At least this way, you can adjust them to your own liking without going deaf by some idiot like me. XD First off, starting at 11:13-11:16. This little timestamp holds this Anti whisper...
Originally, I thought it said, "You can't hide from me." (It probably still does) But upon further fiddling around to make Anti's voice clearer, my thoughts on what he says changed. It sounds to me like he says, "You can't help his fate." Followed by his eye. Interesting! Given the fact his eye flickers on the screen like that makes me believe he's talking to whomever is watching through the camera in Chase's room. Meaning Anti is well aware of someone else in the room, watching Chase like he's watching even though he hasn't even shown up yet. Very much talking to US, the viewers, (as well as possibly the other party. Haha, nudge nudge, wink wink. Assuming he even does know they're there. Don't know) since we're the ones hacking the joint to seek out Chase. (Then again when haven't we been meddling around look for the Egos? As well as look for Anti? Come on, you know we were all there for sights of them all. He knows this and it doesn't surprise him that we're here. In fact, he's enjoying this. (I am so sorry, Chase! We were trying to help you, I swear!)) Speaking of that other party! We're at the set of lines I was the most curious of. On the Day Anti decides to drop by for visit to the IRIS facility we get to hear THESE whispers. At 19:58 - 20:04 A lot going on in there huh? But what little you do hear is that someone else (or a group) are already here. Why they are here, we're not sure. But I'll give you some clearer audio files of that same timestamp. I know its a bit hard to hear some of the dialogue in there I don't know how to clean it up any better, sorry. But from what I was able to hear (and probably lost my mind in the abyss of Audacity) is : "You know we have a plan. We can't be here."
"We have/got to go"
"Stop being stupid!" * The one saying "We have/got to go" sounds a bit like Echo... (or the pitch is high, very likely the pitch is high) And the last line... I don't even know where to begin with that one. It sounded like, *"Stop being stupid" "Stop sounding stupid" or "Stop sending stuff". The last bit of that dialogue is just super distorted and I don't know how to fix it, I'm sorry. But of the three guesses to that one thing, I just chose the one that made more sense for the argument. Now is the version of the same time stamp where we only hear Anti's demonic screeching. Settle down there, eldritch boy.
It might not be anything of actual value but the way it sounds, to me at least, sounds like Anti is screeching Chase's name. Creepy. But with all of these together... we can somewhat get a picture here. Besides us, the viewers being here to see Chase and try to find a way to help him, there's another party that's also there, making their own plan. What the plan is... I don't know for sure but I have a guess. Whatever the case is the pair (I don't know if its just two guys, two guys and Echo, or one dude and Echo, working together. For now I'm thinking just the two guys here) are arguing over what to do. These other files are what sounds to be the other half of the pair, arguing back with their partner of what to do. (20:07-20:08, 20:09-20:10, 20:13-20:15, 20:18-20:18, 20:25-20:28)
"No! We are going for it." This one wants to deviate from the plan and do something else while they have the chance, much to their partner's annoyance. But one of them states, "We gotta go." In confusion the partner asks, "What did you see?" Instead of answering the question, they merely urge the other, "Go." They seem to be aware of something, "Whatever happens happens." Suddenly an alarm blares, red lights flashing all over the place as Chase figures that something is happening from Arin's mannerisms and urgency to move. Those very same alarms seem to surprise our other party! One of them exclaiming, "What?!" at the alarm system going on. From the sounds of... My guess is that they didn't see that one coming. (-cue Last Surprise from Persona 5- ...I'm sorry I had to.) Though there is one piece of the whispers I can probably point out at 20:53-20:55. It sounds like it says "He won't give up." I'm not entirely sure, so if anyone can figure that out, cool. And as Chase is dragged down the hall, kicking and screaming, begging to be released... we hear one last thing... before things go silent in that hallway. (21:09-21:11) Anti whispering softly, "This is your grave."
*~*~*~*~*
My Summarizing Thoughts :
So what I can gather from all this... is that the same time we were poking around IRIS' computer systems, there was another party at the facility. I don't know if they were imprisoned in there as well or had broken in on their own. They had a plan of their own that they were going to do but I guess our meddling with the systems changed things for them. I don't know if they're here for the Stone Tablet or somehow planned it to be there to collect Chase and escape the facility together with the rock... maybe, I don't I'm just guessing here. But I don't think they accounted for our meddling which allowed Anti to speedrun (I can't help but think of Anti going "SPEEDRUN!" running around in there) the facility, forcing the party to go into action. What that action is, is anyone's guess. My guess though, is that they're going to try to rescue Chase. How, I'm not sure. Either intercepting from one of the T section of halls Chase is sitting at and block Anti from him or if Marvin is there or something, magic his ass out of there before Anti can kill him. Either case, that scene is not over! And I can't wait (of course I'll wait, I want Sean to have the time to make it as spectacular as he wants it to be and to do that, he needs time. I'm a patient birb) to see what that will entail and what will happen! Also I would like to apologize... again. I wanted this post out MUCH earlier in the day but I kept getting interrupted in my typing. And then, I originally wanted to add audio clips to talk about them, sadly I wasn't aware that there was a limit of how many flies/links one can add to a post. And I really didn't want to break this into two parts... so... here! A SUPER ASS LONG ONE! With timestamps to match to the files I gave. (Yes, I'm well aware there's a lot of files with the same timestamps, I will move those into a folder within the JSE IRIS Clues folder and leave it for anyone to see them if they want. That has been updated as I wrote this out) Well, I hope you guys enjoyed my thoughts on the files. I'm curious to what you guys think, or discover on your own with the audio files I gave. Please do share them, Sean did point out about looking into the audio so I hope there are others out there mining away at this to truly uncover the hidden clues within! At least we know there is another party involved! I'm sorry we screwed up your plans, honest! Please save Chase.

[0:15] Charlie: And what do you hope people say about you when you're not listening?
[0:19] Garrett: Big balls.

[0:23] [Charlie laughs and then Garrett follows suit]
[0:25] Garrett: (shrugs) Big balls.
[0:26] Was that a serious question on that?

Personal notes: Hi everyone, long time no talk. This is the shortest video I’ve ever transcribed and maybe my first time transcribing a video without auto-captions. Also, I just realized this is my first video I've transcribed that isn't a YouTube video. I'm finally working on the mera video and all it took for me to get back into it was just reformatting the transcript that I currently have. It’s going to take me awhile but I at least feel comfortable getting back into transcribing again. In the meantime, enjoy random videos that I have transcribed and will be released beforehand like this video of the Miller brothers. Thank you @rayslittlekitten for sharing this video.
Yes, I'm a Triple Frontier fan. I’ve watched it the moment it got released a few years ago. I’ve watched more interviews, scene clips, and gif sets of Triple Frontier content than I did back in 2019. It was an interesting December 2023 for TF fan me. I can't wait for Triple Frontier 2: Santiago's Electric Boogaloo. That’s not the official title but I’m gonna jokingly call it that until we get official promo like a trailer or poster. I'm cherishing that interview/news we got that Charlie is a producer for the sequel.
If you want to support Garrett Hedlund, there are many ways to go about it. You can watch some of his projects like his movies, audio dramas, and TV shows. He has an Instagram and an official YouTube channel as far as I know. He does have a link tree where he has his videos, songs and whatnot: https://linktr.ee/garretthedlund
Granted it doesn’t have all of the songs he sung. There is a YouTube playlist compiled by Carla T that has (some of) his Country Strong music. If anyone could compile all of his songs into a (YouTube) playlist and share it with me, that’d be amazing. He does go to conventions from time to time so if he ever stops by your area and you can afford it, you can support him that way too.
Also, you can support Charlie Hunnam by watching any of his projects. Charlie has no social media so I would recommend supporting him through watching his movies and TV shows. He goes to conventions more than Garrett, sometimes even together, so that’s another way to support him.
I’ll catch you all in the next post.
I hope you have a great day.

From HERO VISION Vol. 64
Poppy Pipopapo has restored Dan Kuroto/Kamen Rider Gemn as a bugster. A new relationship has been formed with Hojo Emu/Kamen Rider Ex-Aid and the others, but how will their power relationship change later? Iijima Hiroki and Iwanaga Tetsuya look back on the past and predict the future! They share their thoughts and feelings.
Iijima: Dan Kuroto is back!
"新•檀黎斗" だけどね (笑)。
Iwanaga: It's Shin Dan Kuroto (laughs).
Iijima: I can't wait to see the unexpected side of Tetsu-chan as we continue to work together.
Iwanaga: Kuroto has been an unknown quantity since his resurrection, though. But am I being that surprising?
Iijima: At first he acted like a smart president, but halfway through he became obsessed with the game, and the children of my acquaintance became afraid of Kamen Rider Genm and Kuroto after episode 18 and ran away from the TV (laughs). I was also shocked by the way Kuroto changed. Tetsu-chan is truly amazing for being able to bring out that much unexpectedness.
Iwanaga: Fufufu (smiles).
Iijima: The final scene in episode 23 gave me goosebumps because it really showed Kuroto's humanity. It gave me a lot of inspiration!
Iwanaga: I'm glad to hear you say that. I'm also inspired by Hiroki. The reason why Kuroto was attracted to Emu, an intern, and not Hiiro or Taiga is because Emu is a genius at games, but my performance wouldn't have been possible if Hiroki hadn't shown his duality as a doctor and a genius gamer.
Iijima: Do you think I'm becoming Emu?
Iwanaga: Yes. Thanks to Hiroki, who plays the main role, expanding his range, we can play the role without feeling uncomfortable. Also, I've been influenced a lot by the recording. I think the dialogue between the double action gamers is particularly divine (laughs).
Iijima: Is it because the two personalities switch instantly? It just looks like that in the video, but in reality, I recorded one side at a time.
Iwanaga: Even though the story unfolds so quickly that it's almost impossible to tell which one came out, Hiroki manages to complete the dialogue between the two split up by the Mighty Brothers XX Gashat. He even added a few lines that weren't in the script.
Iijima: I'm trying to put in lines that match the movements of the suit actors. I'm thinking about how to make it more interesting.
Iwanaga: And Hiroki is doing it on the spot without taking notes, right?
Iijima: I forgot my pen, so I couldn't take notes (chuckles).
Iwanaga: I'm always amazed at how you can remember so much. It's amazing how he can do something on the spur of the moment, and then collect it all a few minutes later! That's something that only Hiroki can do. It's really fun to watch.
Iijima: It's the same for me. The Kamen Rider Genm that Tetsu-chan created was unique from the time he was a level 1 character, but after he became a zombie gamer, he was just so sharp!
Iwanaga: (laughs).
Iijima: During post recording, everyone is moving their bodies, but Tetsu-chan is acting as a zombie. I thought, "This guy is amazing!" The way he transformed was also very intense, and from episode 20 to 23, the atmosphere he created was completely zombie-like.
Iwanaga: Speaking of transformations, isn't Ex-Aid's transformation amazing? Even though the motions are rather large, the gashat fits into the gamer driver properly every time.
Iijima: I just kind of swing it up by feel and say, "It's around here!" (laughs).
Iwanaga: You can get an OK with one shot almost every time.
Iijima: When I try to use two gashats at the same time, sometimes I miss, because it's hard to put two gashats together.
Iwanaga: That's true (laughs)!
Episodes 20-23 were exciting due to synergistic effects.
Iijima: When I first met Tetsu-chan, he seemed like a perfect gentleman. That gave me the impression that Kuroto was "the young president", and I didn't see the evil side of him at all… People are scary. The scene where he told Emu about the game disease in episode 18 was really scary (laughs).
Iwanaga: You said that was a favorite of yours.
Iijima: It was a lot of fun to play. Being told that you have game sickness is like an ultimatum for the patient, but you said it firmly, not smoothly. To Emu, it was like being told, "It's game over for you," and he was on the verge of tears.
Iwanaga: I'm glad it resonated with you that much.
Iijima: When Kuroto started going crazy, I couldn't take my eyes off of him, wondering how far he would go. In episode 18, he showed his ruthlessness by turning the bugster around, and when he confronted Emu with the truth, I thought he had already exhausted himself, but he continued to exceed my expectations (laughs).
Iwanaga: Fufufu (smiles).
Iijima: In episode 23, he ripped off his clothes.
Iwanaga: I spent almost four hours naked at the beach at the end of January. That was hard! It was windy and cold, but I couldn't stand the goosebumps, and it was hard to keep the tension up.
Iijima: It was sexy (laughs).
Iwanaga: It wasn't written in the script, but I was told right before that I was going to take off my clothes, so I brought some equipment to the scene to train my pecs and rushed to do some muscle training while waiting (laughs).
Iijima: Do muscles build quickly?
Iwanaga: No, it was completely a bad idea (laughs). Moreover, when I was doing it, people would get interested and take the equipment, so I could hardly train.
Iijima: (laughs)
Iwanaga: The filming of episodes 21 to 23 was tough because we were screaming and cold every time, but the synergy between everyone made it exciting. This was something that had never happened before, so I felt like, "We're evolving!"
Iijima: I think the atmosphere on set started to change when Kuroto erased Burgmon in episode 17 and told Emu about his game sickness. We had more scenes involving each other, but I think I also changed because I was inspired by Tetsu-chan's over-the-top acting.
Iwanaga: In the beginning, Kuroto and Emu were just talking on the surface, but when we started to feel like we were risking our lives for each other, the distance between me and Hiroki started to change.
Iijima: I think it made it much easier to do the face-to-face act. I thought, "Kuroto is a terrible person!" and then the lines just came out naturally (laughs).
Iwanaga: My lines are getting crazier and crazier (laughs).
Iijima: Emu's heart is a crystal, so he takes every word Kuroto says seriously and gets hurt. Thanks to this, though, he has a wider range of emotions.
Iwanaga: Episode 23 is a memorable episode in many ways.
Iijima: I never imagined that Kuroto would go that far out of his way. But now that I think about it, I was really influenced by Tetsu-chan's performance in episode 23. All the Kamen Riders are fighting on the edge of their lives, and after that, I was able to express those situations by being on the screen. In "Kamen Sentai Gorider", I think I was able to act on the edge. Even in postrecording, I was able to give it my all, even if my voice was dying, and emotionally, I put myself in a desperate situation, like holding back a friend who was about to take his own life.
Iwanaga: His spirit was amazing. I was recording separately at the time, but just by listening to Hiroki's voice, I could imagine the scene we were recording.
Iijima: It's a play that I was able to do because I learned the spirit of an actor from Tetsu-chan's racy acting.
Iwanaga: I'm glad you said that. By the way, after Kuroto's game over in episode 23, Emu cried for him. It was a very beautiful scene.
Iijima: It was easy to cry there.
Iwanaga: You said you did it while remembering the scene where I was rampaging.
Iijima: That scene really left a deep impression on me! When I remembered that Kuroto, tears naturally welled up in my eyes...
Iwanaga: Thank you for crying at my performance. I'm very happy.
Iijima: Don't you think we have a good influence on each other when we talk like this?
Iwanaga: Yeah, no doubt.
A mutually complementary relationship
Iijima: I think Tetsu-chan's way of thinking is different from others in a good way.
Iwanaga: Yeah? What part of it!?
Iijima: For example, when I saw the recorder in front of me, I would have thought it was a recording device and that would have been the end of it, but Tetsu-chan would have come up with three or four outlandish ideas at the same time, like, "It might have a listening device in it."
Iwanaga: Indeed, there is such a thing.
Iijima: We have different ways of using our brains, so when we're together, we can realize, "There's another way to do it!" In other words, we can be less rigid.
Iwanaga: For me, Hiroki's ability to talk about normal things helps me to correct my direction no matter how scattered my thoughts become or how much I lose my way.
Iijima: I see. If I think too much, I'll have a hard time putting it all together (laughs).
Iwanaga: Even though I think I'm talking in a coherent manner, it sounds like I'm talking about unrelated things to the other person. But if there's someone like Hiroki who is willing to go into it, I can talk freely (laughs).
Iijima: It's hard to be smart (laughs).
Iwanaga: (laughs)
Iijima: Actually, there was something I wanted to ask you. I wondered what kind of feelings Kuroto was expressing in the line, "You're like a crystal."
Iwanaga: Yeah, well... Maybe Kuroto sees the pure and honest Emu as a kind of 'Cinderella oneesan'.
Iijima: What do you mean!?
Iwanaga: Some girls hate Cinderella because she is straightforward and cute.
Iijima: ...I see!
Iwanaga: I think Kuroto really wanted to be pure, too. With his unshakable talent, he could have stayed crystal. But when Emu, who had even more talent, showed up and he saw how amazing he was, he became confused. In addition, he thought he was dirty. I'm sure Kuroto hated himself for that.
Iijima: Ugh... Too good to be true!
Iwanaga: Emu has all the things that he wanted, things that money can't get. Kuroto can't help but feel frustrated by this. The line, "You're like a crystal," reflects Kuroto's feelings.
Iijima: When you think about it, that's a great line.
Iwanaga: It's a bit old-fashioned, though. (laughs)
Iijima: I think it's also unique. After the resurrection, Kuroto and Emu seem to be in a slightly different situation…
Iwanaga: Emu is subtly uptight, isn't he?
Iijima: Yes, yes (laughs). How do you think the relationship between the two will change in the future?
Iwanaga: The new Dan Kuroto will be resurrected as a bugster, and for the time being, he'll cooperate with Emu and the others in an "I don't have a choice" kind of way, but after that, it's hard to imagine at this point.
Iijima: As Emu, while I want him to atone for his crimes, I don't want him to forget the value of entertaining people. I think it's Emu's desire to have him come to his senses and provide us with a fun, danger-free game.
Iwanaga: Even if Emu asks him to atone for his sins, Kuroto himself doesn't think he did anything wrong. I don't think they'll mesh right away. However, I'm sure he still wants to make a fun game, so if their interests coincide, there is a way for him to cooperate with Ex-Aid.
Iijima: I wonder if there's any chance that Kuroto and the genius gamer Nico-chan will team up.
Iwanaga: Nico is a genius gamer with a hundred million dollars in annual income. Maybe that's possible!
Iijima: I think that if the two of us work together, we can create a game that no one else can clear. I feel that this will produce good results in terms of future development and story.
Iwanaga: As you said when Kuroto disappeared, Emu wants him to use his talent even after Kuroto is resurrected.
Iijima: Yes, Emu is that kind of person. No matter what Kuroto or anyone else thinks of him, he will always have the desire to make people smile.
Iwanaga: I'm sure that even Kuroto wants Emu to be able to do what he wants to do with impunity. After all, Kuroto has been jealous of Emu for years.
Iijima: So that's one way to look at it.
Iwanaga: I myself, who play Kuroto, would like to see Emu follow his beliefs and grow more and more, and I can't wait to see how Hiroki will show him.
Iijima: I've learned a lot from my subtle relationship with Kuroto, so I hope I can continue to bring out the best in him! If I were to be greedy, I'd like to see Kuroto entertaining children (laughs).
Iwanaga: If I may make a wish, I would like to see Emu being fawned over by girls (lol). Because I think he'd set a good example of how to be popular, by being nice to them instead of being pushy like Hiiro.
Iijima: I'd like to play that too!! (laughs)

Fixing the sequel trilogy
*Spoilers for Star Wars Episodes VII-IX, if you care.*
Honestly, I think the sequel trilogy could be fixed with some reltively minor changes. I think The Force Awakens is good. A few tweaks, maybe, but overall its solid. The only change I would make is that Finn should go with Rey to the Island to find Luke.
The Last Jedi is where I would change some stuff. I think that Luke becoming jaded and isolated could work, but I think we need some changes to his reasoning. The main thing is that I would ADD more about his reasoning in there. When he goes in to kill Ben, and then doesn't, I think he should be scared of turning to the Dark Side. I don't think Ben should go and destroy the School then and there. I think Luke should have taken some time to think and consult his father and Obi-Wan and Yoda, and come to the conclustion that perhaps the Jedi ways need to die with him, and that he needs to isolate himself so as not to hurt anyone else. I think this would also make the title of the movie much more fitting, also. At first, Luke thinks he needs to be the last Jedi, and then realizes that isn't so. Rey is honestly fine in this movie, too, I think she gets a bit too much hate. I think she's bland, but I don't hate her like so many people seem to. I think she could have similar interactions with Kylo Ren, but then having Finn on the Island with her, she can voice her hesitations and we can have some more of that lovely Finn and Rey chemistry (should be platonic, imo). They worked with each other so well in TFA, and I think that should be preserved. The fight in the throne room can be basically the same, but PLEASE better choreography. The way they fight in the movie would be so ineffective.
The big change to TLJ is eliminating the stupid casino planet subplot. It's just stupid. If you want Poe to have gone too far and need to get in trouble, he can try to mutiny earlier, becasue Holdo won't share her plan, then she can send him to the brig. I think it would be good to have a nice conversation between him and Holdo, where we get an actually good reason for her not initially telling her the plan, then he accepts that, grows, and supports her actions. (I'm not a huge Poe fan, so I can't come up with as good of ideas for him). This could show significant character growth from when he wouldn't listen to authority, (which is definitely shown to be a flaw in the movie, Leia knew better than him) to being a bit skeptical, but ultimately a better soldier.
Finally, The Rise of Skywalker. TROS needs the most changes. First off, the real Palpatine isn't back. What we see is a messed up clone of him. He needs Rey, because this rotten, horrid version of his body is failing. Kylo needs to start questioning the First Order. In the actual movie, he is deeper in than ever, and basically unredeemable, in order to get that big SHOCK later on, but I think that at this point he would actively be questioning his own actions, and might be redeemable. The plot as a whole would need a rewrite, in ways I can't even summarize properly for this post, but basically, Rey can find out she's a Palpatine, or start to accidentally use the Dark Side, or both, early on in the movie, leading her to start isolating herself more and more from everyone. Leia, Chewie, Poe, Finn, etc. The other characters can be worried about her, and THEN we get the huge drop of "holy shit is Palpatine alive?!" via a video message or something. It is LAME to not see that happen on screen.
I actually quite like several aspects of the end of the movie, particularly Ben finally renouncing Kylo and coming to help Rey, fighting his own men on the way. I will say, I think we need one of two things for the ending. 1: completely get rid of the "if you kill a Sith, they posess you" or whatever. It really doesn't line up with established canon, imo, or 2: ONLY Palpatine can do the posession thing, and its because he's just such an evil powerful Sith or whatever. We get that final bit, where Rey has to decide whether to kill Palpatine or let everyone die. She makes up her mind, turns to Palpatine with determination in her eyes, and he grins. He's won. She raises her lightsaber to strike him, and he cackles. She kills him. Ben climbs up out of that pit, seeing Rey with her lightsaber turned towards herself. "No!" he shouts, running towards her. She throws her hand in the air, force-throwing him away from her, tears in her eyes, as she ignites her blade. She falls to the ground, dead, Palpatine, Darth Sidious, the Emperor, finally, FINALLY defeated, as Ben runs towards her. At that point, he can either revive her, or (since that's not really something it is established is possible, healing and resurrection are very different), he holds her and cries over her body, and he then emerges to the surface, to help the Resistance.
Whichever of the two of them isn't dead starts the Jedi Order anew, but with improvements. The end.
Obviously, I'm no professional, but I think these or similar changes, would VASTLY improve the sequel trilogy.

Have You Seen The New Pokémon ScarVi Competitive Play Trailer? Have You SEEN It?
Bae caught me slippin'. I just woke up to a new Pokémon reveal from the Championships in London. Scope out the trailer while I make some coffee.
youtube
First thing I noticed, of course, was that opening animation with the swirling crystals. I'm guessing they represent the different Types, but I can't help but think of Chaos Emeralds. I could speculate that each crystal here also represents a treasure or something waiting to be collected in the game.
The video proper starts with a brief montage of what it'll be going over, including the new Pokémon, but that can wait. After the montage is a match-up screen with two players in a three-on-three battle. If this screen is any indication, the player characters' default/official names are Juliana (female) and Florian (male). From what I can find, the name Juliana ultimately derives from the Roman name Julius (as in Caesar), which may derive from the Roman god Jupiter, and Florian is derived from Florus (a short-lived, 3rd century Roman emperor) which itself is derived from the Latin word "Flos" (flower). It's not quite clear to me how Juliana relates to the color scarlet (the assassination of Julius Caesar notwithstanding), the Roman emperor connection between the two is kind of interesting.
The trainers send out their Pokémon, and now we get a proper look at the newbie, Cyclizar, facing off against a Cloyster. Just looking at it you can tell it's a genericized version of the box Legendaries Koraidon and Miraidon. The website confirms that Cyclizar is a common sight in Paldean homes and is frequently used as transportation. We'll likely see this Pokémon used by NPC's, and screenshots on the site show a couple NPC's on Cyclizars. Unlike the Legendaries, they NPC's use a saddle with bicycle handles. They are shown standing like Koraidon's Ride Build, and it's probably safe to assume they run on all fours instead of transforming into bikes like Miraidon. I also assume they can't glide, which probably isn't a necessary animation for NPC riders anyway.
I kinda like this guy, at least in concept. I certainly wouldn't ride one when I could ride Miraidon (or literally any other Pokémon), but I do like that there's a generic version of them out there that doesn't leave everyone else out in the cold. I imagine this solves a technical issue or made development easier, as Cyclizar can just use Koraidon's animations. I'm a little concerned, on that note, that this means that any racing will be against NPC's on generic Cyclizars instead of even a select few Pokémon. Still, I have to wonder if you can swap out your Ride Legendary for a Cyclizar. I don't see why you would want to, but it strikes me as a possible option.
Cyclizar's typing is revealed right away, too, as Dragon/Normal. I think it's safe to assume that this means the box Legendaries will also be part Dragon, as has already been speculated. Being part Normal Type is also interesting, when it could've just been straight Dragon. This makes it immune to Ghost attacks and weak to Fighting and, I think, Rock. I wonder if that was done for mechanical reasons or just to emphasize that Cyclizars are common as dirt.
Cyclizar also has a signature move called Shed Tail, which allows it to create a Substitute (with doll and HP sacrifice) and automatically switch out. I can imagine that it'll share this move with only Koraidon and Miraidon, if anybody, this generation and next generation every other lizard-based Pokémon will have access to it one way or another.
What do I think of Cyclizar visually? It's... alright, I guess. If I had seen this before Miraidon and Koraidon I'd probably think it was pretty cool, and I might even had considered putting one on my team. I'm certainly more impressed with its design than any other non-Legendary Pokémon introduced so far. But it's redundant, its existence only justified by Miraidon and Koraidon being Legendary Pokémon and thematically rare. Its for NPC's to use, not the player. I'd almost speculate that you couldn't even obtain a Cyclizar in-game if they hadn't introduced it in a multiplayer context. If you can't put Miraidon or Koraidon in your party right off, though, I might actually consider using Cyclizar as a stand-in. I may even use it in later generations if they're available. But as it stands, I think I'll stick to Miraidon.
The thought also occurs that Cyclizar is the "Present" form of Koraidon (being the "Past" form) and Miraidon (being the "Future" form) in context of the discussion about this game having a time travel mechanic of some kind. It makes sense, though I think it feels like kind of a stretch. On the other hand, Kubfu's lore has it be formerly common but rare enough to be Legendary now (at least in Galar), and such could be the case with Koraidon and Miraidon. But, as they say, time will tell.
I also still feel like time travel would be an unlikely gimmick despite all the evidence for it. It just seems to unnatural for this series to me. It will, if anything, likely be something shoe-horned into the plot near the end of the game for one sequence and never used again. But that's just my opinion.
Cetitan then shows off Mirror Herb, a single-use item that copies the opponent's stat changes. This strikes me as something with limited use, for when you know your opponent is going to buff themselves. Of course, I'm not a competitive player, so I don't know how useful that would be. I certainly wouldn't use it in single-player. I always felt status moves were waste of a turn.
Another item on display is Loaded Dice, which makes multi-hit moves more likely to hit multiple times. If I recall, the formula for that had to be changed at some point because they weren't hitting often enough. I can imagine this means they're turning the odds back down in general, with Loaded Dice making up the difference (and then some). In any case, this is a good item for multi-hit moves in general, and especially against enemies with a means of negating only one or some of the hits but not all of them (such as the ability Sturdy).
Tyranitar shows off the hat for the Ghost Tera Type. I kinda like it, especially compared to the hats we've seen so far. It's nice in and of itself, but also as a reference to the sprite that stands in for wild Ghost Pokémon in Gen 1 until you get the Sylph Scope that reveals their true form so you can actually battle them. Still pretty silly, but I still like it, if only from a "I see what you did there" perspective.
Tyranitar then shows off Tera Blast, a Normal-Type move that changes to the user's Tera Type when Terastallized. That's a neat trick. I think it makes sense to have this kind of move, and I suspect most Pokémon in the game will be able to learn it one way or another. It's a good alternative to just having a move that matches their Tera Type, especially if the Pokémon can't actually learn moves of that type (or is a Normal-Type Pokémon). There are probably also instances where a Normal-Type move is preferable moves of a certain type, like when the opponent can resist or is immune to your Tera Type. And if they're resistant or immune to Normal-Type moves, you can just Terastallize to get around it.
On the website, they've also added the Covert Cloak item. When worn, the Covert Cloak prevents additional effects of moves from occurring. Screenshots show a Hariyama hitting a Cloaked Cycilzar with Fake Out, which as a 100% Flinch chance, and the Cyclizar retaliating. This probably won't protect against moves that only do status effects, unless those moves inflict more than one.
The website also talks more about the online battling features, in a mode dubbed "Battle Stadium." So far, it's pretty basic. You got Casual Battles where all Pokémon in the game are allowed, Ranked Battles with multiple tiers, and Online Competitions where you can join Official Competitions or Friendly Competitions (or make your own). Rental Teams are also back, and you can make your own Rental Teams to lend to other people. That's a nice feature to have, since you can still have your own bespoke team even if you lack the time or inclination to build it yourself. Of course, you still need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to actually use Battle Stadium.
Interestingly, the website specifies that you won't be able to battle against Sword & Shield players, but doesn't say anything about the Let's Go games, Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, or Legends Arceus. Granted, you probably still can't battle against those players (considering Legends Arceus' alterations to the system), but it's an amusing thought nonetheless.
There are still more reveals to come. We still don't know who the evil Team is (I'm guessing Team Star or Team Stellar), if there's racing or time travel, what the other two story lines are about, or what the Gigantamax to Terastallization's Dynamax is (if anything). I'll just have to see you again when there's more to be seen.

Now.
A copy and paste of the final theory I had and the final comment I left.
Anyone, agree or disagree xD My brain has melted. My last addition to this post.
Now, I am watching these videos completely out of order, but I am now trying to put it together.
I need to find out if John (the Doctor, not the CIA Agent) is also an agent or not and will absorb any possible hints towards or against it. I need to know.
I now, at the end, suspect he wasn't. Otherwise...
Anyways. Onto my final theory.
CIA is trustworthy now, in hindsight, after watching all the videos.
He has the book. He learned more in the meantime.
This takes place after the coma. Maybe he got the book straight from the scene even.
Welshie is absolutely terrible at being inconspicuous but that's besides the point.
I wonder if the paper is relevant at all, but I am already looking like the guy with the whiteboard meme. I doubt it. I don't think I can take a look that in debth to factor in the paper...
But I just realised. The paper mentions a place burning down. CIA, burned? Nah, he said that was years ago. Coincidence. Discard the paper, ignore it.
I do feel cared about though, John genuinely cares. Seems our ambiguous fate (I assume currently imprisoned) drove him off the deep end. Appreciate it, that is actually kinda sweet. Even if he is completely unhinged.
So we were betrayed. By the german.
Everyone is suspicious and it's making me tense.
German guy is very self aware, at least. He seems to regret betraying us, now wants to make up for it. He is repeating a postal code, of an area in West Berlin. A's last known... maybe even current location.
13587.
It would make so much sense.
Again relating to the paper, but it does mention Double-Crossing. Our german planning on crossing his previous employer, to save us now?
That'll be my theory.
John, letting himself go. Poor guy, he seems to have taken it very personally. But I think there is still hope. For A, for J, for survival.
Now the South African. Isn't even trying to be subtle.
I still don't want to believe that our brother is gone, but I fear he may be right. I hate it, but it makes sense.
I will proceed to huff copium about it anyways.
But there it is. The trigger phrase.
John knows it.
Who was the one saying it though?
The German? The gloves fit. He is trying to make up for past mistakes. Hard to say if the weapon fits, but it might.
So the German knows the phrase. I do not know how, but he seems to actually be the most subtle, good at his job. Must have figured it out somehow.
I want to trust him. He doesn't shoot John immediately either, there seems to be a conversation going on, an explanation of sorts.
Now the question is only, who are we?
There is a fifth.
It can't be A, we are stuck in a Gulag according to the South African. Slim chances of getting out, but still alive.
I don't want to think it is a new character, that would make it pretty much impossible to figure out.
Which leaves us with three possible options, three others in this series that weren't shown in the park.
Option 1, the Colonel who brainwashed A to begin with. I doubt that, he would have definitely been the #1 for John to take out, there would have been a comment.
Option 2, our brother. Unlikely for... different reasons that I do not want to acknowledge.
Now Option 3. That would be interesting.
Because Option 3 is Felix. Personal connection to A. A spy as well. And while it didn’t look good for him by the end of his video, he was not explicitly... ended. Not on screen at least.
There is a chance he could have gotten free. Figured out who brainwashed his Ex, and would now be out for revenge as well. That would definitely be the most interesting and most likely option of the 3.
Also could be who the Welshman is waiting for. Felix was manipulated through a relationship, maybe he's now used the same method.
Either way, John and Henning are alive, and probably share a goal. I want to believe, so I will believe in their unlikely cooperation. Revenge. Redemption. And freedom for A.
That will be my final theory. For my peace of mind, so I won't go any more insane over it xD
Me putting together the plot of fucking ASMR videos right now and figuring out that our brother may know we are a Soviet Sleeper Agent BECAUSE HE SAID THE TRIGGER PHRASE BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN A COINCIDENCE AND I WANT TO BELIEVE BUT HE SAID THE FUCKING TRIGGER PHRASE and he also worked for the RAF just like we were supposed to and here I am just going MENTAL over the possibility that he may also have been a Soviet Agent, maybe a Sleeper maybe not, all along and it's BREAKING MY HEART FOR FUCKS SAKE NOOOOOOOOOOO
^Literally me right now.
This shit kept me up until five in the morning yesterday.
Also the video is entirely unmarked, no signs that it's connected to the Sleeper series, and it's driving me up the fucking walls

Oh man.. I went to see endgame again and I want to like Thor in this movie I really do and am worried I'm a bad person for not but like, the tone feels all over the place with him, like the tragedy undercuts the humour but then the humour disrespects the tragedy. I can't get my head around this creative decision. What do you think?
First of all, you’re not a bad person for not liking Thor in this film. The negative reaction to how Thor is portrayed is pretty widespread, especially on Tumblr, and a lot of people share your opinion that his character was handled poorly.
I ... *sighs* Here’s the thing. My immediate/general reaction was something like being stunned and second-hand embarrassed for Thor and really upset at the portrayal, because it really, really does feel like the narrative is framing Thor’s very real PTSD as a joke. Playing it up for laughs when there’s nothing funny about that level of loss and grief.
I felt it was disrespectful, that it undermined not only Thor but those of us who suffer from mental illness and have unhealthy coping mechanisms. I felt like depression was being made fun of, like trauma was being made fun of, like weight gain/generally showing how far a person can sink into depression where they can’t take care of themselves was being made fun of. Furthermore, I have been especially furious that despite his trauma, Thor didn’t mention Loki even once, even when acknowledging literally everything else he’s lost besides Loki (family, Asgard, Jane).
But.
Everyone knows, because I have been obsessing about it for days, that I’ve discovered some really, really good during/post-Endgame Thor fic. Fic that manages to strike the balance between what we saw on-screen and what’s going on in Thor’s head. I have found fic that somehow manages to reconcile the two, showing how deep Thor’s trauma runs while still being consistent to what was portrayed on-screen.
And in finding myself not only empathizing with Fic!Thor, but also feeling very protective of him and generally loving toward him, it also made me admit to myself that, when I watched Endgame, it was like two days before the release and I was watching a really shitty cam rip, where I missed 75% of what was really happening, due to poor sound and visual quality.
So, tonight, I went back and rewatched it. Not in the theatre but I found a better cam version on Putlocker, with much better sound and video. I tried to be open-minded. And I had no idea how much I missed, when it came to Thor’s microexpressions and mannerisms and even what he was saying half the time. Watching it in better quality along with having the fics in my head has kind of ... brought me to an understanding of it, I think? In a way that I’m no longer furious about it, because I can sort of get behind the creative decision to show Thor just completely deteriorating and becoming something like an entirely different person than what he’s been before. Because mental illness and trauma do do that to a person. And I do think that it was a bold, but not necessarily a wrong, decision to go the opposite way in portraying the illness than what is usually shown in media. Usually, in films and tv, traumatized, depressed people are portrayed as stoic, and usually really thin, and scowly and brooding.
Thor in Endgame as a concept is taking that expectation and subverting it and showing the other end of the spectrum: that sometimes you are smiling and joking even though it’s an act, that you’re laughing on the outside while a weight is pressing down on you on the inside, that drinking to excess can cause weight gain, that eating as a coping mechanism can cause weight gain, that not caring about life can mean not caring about yourself and you don’t necessarily notice that it’s been a week since you washed your hair and two years since you cut it and what does it matter anyway, because you’re not going anywhere or doing anything or trying to impress anybody, you’re just putting one foot in front of the other and trying to make it through day by day until the universe finally decides to take pity on you and you die.
And I get that, because I’ve been there, because a lot of people have been there, because it’s a very real, uncomfortable, visceral portrayal of someone who has just completely broken down - mentally, physically, emotionally.
That all said - I understand the intention better now than I did before, but I do think that it fell flat. Instead of really delving into these things, the narrative played it like we were supposed to laugh at Thor. Not a single person, except for Bruce, asked Thor if he was okay. No one acknowledged that Thor might not be up for this mission. No one acknowledged that even if the snap was reversed, Thor will still have lost everything and he doesn’t get anything back.
Thor is very visibly breaking down, and the others just roll with it. Worse, they make fun of him, what with the way they look at him and the way they act toward him and Rhodey’s stupid “cheeze whiz” joke. The narrative supports this view, especially with camera shots that emphasize Thor’s weight and general disheveled appearance. And the version I watched today was still filmed in a theatre, so I was able to hear all the places where the audience just laughed, even when Thor was obviously in pain and obviously needed sympathy rather than mockery. It smacks of fat shaming and general mental health shaming. And that’s not okay.
I feel ... more generous toward Chris Hemsworth’s performance than I did before. On a second, closer viewing, I do think that his facial expressions and his delivery of his lines did show someone who was in deep pain, especially when it came to Thanos specifically (his change in demeanor when Bruce says his name, the way he begs to wear the gauntlet and “do something right,” the way he approaches Thanos in the final battle, among other moments).
I also think, though, that Chris may have gotten too into the comedic aspect of it, too, and that probably contributed to Thor in general being played for laughs. Because Chris likes to laugh, and have fun, and screw around, and he’s said so himself. I think if Chris had a better understanding of mental illness than I assume he does, he might have been more willing to delve further into the emotional side and relied less on the comedic side. And if Chris wasn’t so anti-Loki, then I think we would have had a lot more acknowledgement of how much Loki’s death has contributed to Thor’s grief and mental state.
Idk. It could have been better. The fics are better. But at the same time, I do get it now more than I did before. I’m not really crediting the Russos with that, bc they’re trash, but I do give Chris Hemsworth and his acting more credit than I did. And honestly, I give the fic writers credit bc reading them forced me to consider my point of view and whether or not I was looking at Thor too critically due to my general hatred of everything the Russos touch.
So, yeah. Overall, it’s ... a complicated thing. I don’t think I’ll ever be okay with it, but I’m not so anti it either, anymore. If that makes sense.
I didn’t mean to write you a dissertation, Anon, so I’m sorry for the length. This has actually been on my mind for several days, though, so I kind of hopped on this ask and took it as an opportunity to write all of this out. I hope it makes sense. I hope people can understand where I’m coming from. And even if you can’t, please don’t @ me, I’m very tired.
Anyway. Yeah. So that’s what I think. I hope this somewhat answered the question. XDD

Week 10: Gaming Community
As a girl stuck in lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic, I started my gaming career really late compared to a lot of people. And so with the little savings I had, I purchased a PlayStation 4 just to play Monster Hunter World with my friends. My first-time experience in the gaming community was positive, fun and jokes. However, everyone that has been in the gaming community for many years have other opinions about it. Let's move onward!
Beauty of Gaming
With the advent of digital games came the advent of gamer cultures and identities. Playing online games has become a norm for most people. Online multiplayer games typically encourage interaction between players. Where collaboration with other players may be essential to achieve a higher success rate on winning. Especially in this age of social distancing and mental health strains due to the global pandemic, gaming has become a new outlet for people to gain much-needed social interaction in the safety of their own homes.
One of the main popular game social interactive gaming during the pandemic was Animal Crossing. Where players can visit friends or strangers' islands via code online. Some people hold birthday parties in Animal Crossing while others go on dates, some would even host weddings in the game itself. (TheLifeProject, 2020) It is a very successful game catered to everybody from young to old. With lots of cute items, tons of fun characters and customisations.
Gaming Toxicity
But just like any community, gaming also has its share of toxicity and hostility. It includes sexual harassment, hate speech, threats of violence or even spamming. These actions are fueled by the anonymity of virtual environments, as anyone can just create a fake profile to spread hate behind a screen.
Studies have also shown that women who are equally or more skilled than men in video games are still likely to be the targets of toxicity compared to male players. Besides gender hate, research has also shown that harassment is also targeted related to their race, religion, gender or sexual orientation. As a third of the LGBTQ, Black and Hispanic players experienced in-game harassment. One of the few experiences would be physical threats, stalking and sexual harassment. As a result, a quarter of those who experienced toxicity has to quit playing certain games as a result.
Conclusion
There are good and bad in the gaming community. It is beneficial in terms of meeting new friends, hanging out with current friends and having events that we can't have physically due to the pandemic. However, it is also a dangerous place with a lot of weirdos that hide behind the screen to spread hate and toxicity. We should always know how to stand up for ourselves and be careful of giving personal information online especially to strangers.

[ID: A tiktok of a man dancing vaguely to Can't Touch This by MC Hammer. He tells his story in rhythm with the song.
"One thing about me is that when I was yesterday my aunt invited everyone for Thanksgiving dinner. We said 'Okay, aunt, let's get on a plane and fly across the country to eat at your house.' We spent the night. The very next morning, my aunt makes the bold creative decision on Thanksgiving morning with all of our family there to do this thing called dying. [Pause] What? She died on Thanksgiving morning. We had a body on our hands. And then like everyone was grieving. It was kind of uncomfortable but you know what? That's how it was. We called a nurse in to confirm that she was dead. The nurse said 'yep she's dead.' We said 'we kind of already knew that. Your job seems kind of bureaucratic- besides the point' The nurse was like 'You need to get this body out of here' We said 'okay', she gave us a number to call. We called, we said 'hi, we have a body, can you pick it up?' they go 'Hmm, it's thanksgiving. Kind of inconsiderate to pull us away from our families on the holiday.' 'Okay, what do we do?' They said 'We'll come in a bit, but we can't be quick.' So we just kind of waited, tried to figure out should we celebrate the holiday and eat a big dinner. [Pause] Well, we brought the food, so the answer was yes. We made some pies, and all the while my aunt was in the bedroom, [Pause] experiencing rigor mortis. [Pause] So we ate Thanksgiving dinner with the [loses song rhythm] full knowledge that [picks up rhythm] there was a corpse in the room next door. And after dinner but before dessert, we heard a knock on the door. And we were like 'Oh, I guess they're here to pick up the body' and they were like 'We're here to pick up the body' We said 'Oh, cool' and so they took the body and left. there were more tears, there were kind of tears all throughout the day."
The follow-up video has the man sitting on a chair. "Aunt reveal" in all caps is above his face for a few seconds, then in smaller text for less time is "More of a grandfather's cousin but who's counting" "Okay, so now that everyone is obsessed, let's talk about my aunt. Her name was Tassia" and he points to a picture of her in black and white. "She was born in 1927 in Lviv, Ukraine, which means she was 95 years old." Shown is a picture of the OP and his aunt for a few seconds, captioned "Photo circa 2018". "she died of the most natural causes known to science. For my entire life, she's been like the oldest person I've ever known, and...the funniest? 'Cause you know, the goodie bag they give you when you survive the Holomodor" -text on screen reads "Google it", "is such an intense, debilitating trauma- and a sense of humor to cope with it. She once kind of relayed the horrors of war to me, publicly, in like a soup-centric eatery space. And not only was she a master rambler and storyteller, but she was also a classically trained pianist. She was my piano teacher when I was younger, she had arthritis in every bone in her body except for her fingers because she was always practicing. She played a solo show at Carnegie Hall" -text onscreen reads 'I think the NYPL has some of her recordings' "Like, you could never! [Pause] unless you could, in which case, you're very talented. Tragically, like all the greats she only received widespread Tiktok fame after her passing. Thank you for letting me share her story in this absolutely bonkers way. She was so deeply loved." Text onscreen reads "RIP to a LEGEND". /End ID]
