It's here. My second released Reshade/Gshade preset for The Sims 4. Like my previous one, Yuhum, this preset is meant to enhance whatever the light is doing in your game. With certain hotkeys, you can make customizable changes to your screenshots. Brighten or sharpen, add grain and chromatic aberration, or create some fun lens flares. It can be as simple or as personalized as you want it to be.

Click for bigger! Here's a couple before/after shots to show you the subtle changes. Overall the pictures with the preset have a softer look while still remaining quite sharp. The F1 hotkey is a quick adjustment in brightness because sometimes a scene calls for light and bright, and other times you just want to retain the exposure. F1 basically just toggles on/off the pd80 Contrast Brightness Saturation shader.

Want more lens flares? Just go on the HexLensFlare shader and increase the intensity (for brighter flares) and decrease the threshold (for flares coming out more frequently). You can also change the size and the colours of the flares to your liking. Too extra? Just do the opposite or toggle off the shader (Shift + B).

It was important to see how Tawhay looked on different skintones in outdoor and indoor lighting. Keeping the undertone true to sims' skintones was crucial, so I opened up my old high school years save file and got the gang to model for me.

Tawhay uses 2 different kinds of depth of field (DoF) shaders to give you the flexibility of having a mouse-driven DoF or something automatic. For most gameplay shots, I stick with ADoF because it does the job of putting the foreground in focus; but if I want more precise point in focus, I go with CinematicDoF.

These are the list of shaders used. They all come recommended when you install Reshade. If there's anything missing in your shaders folder, you can go to the repository and simply install them. You can also see the hotkeys I've set up, but feel free to change them to whatever suits you.

All the shaders are turned on by default. It is usable this way, but I recommend playing around with toggling on/off different shaders, particularly ones with a corresponding hotkey. That way you can figure out what works best for your screenshots. Personally, I toggle off G (FilmGrain and CAb) because I like to add that stuff in post. I also have F1 toggled off for most shots unless I want something to look darker.

What I've Been Up To

Hey, friends!

I’m sure at least some of you are wondering what I’ve been up to since I had to abandon updates to Career World. Well, as a matter of fact, even before the For Rent corruption bug caused all that to go pear-shaped, I was already working on my next giant save file project: a save file meant to maximize immersion in The Sims 4 by pairing lots that blend seamlessly into their surroundings with gameplay setups that lean into world identities and pack features already established by the Sims team.

I’m really excited about this project and I think it’s great, but there are two problems with it: A) I can’t work on it fast enough to keep pace with all the new content releases, so I fear it will never be done, and B) if it winds up being as big as Career World (which was the intention—I had planned on this being another “all worlds” save file), it is likely to run up against the same save-file-destroying bug. So, despite how awesome the unifying concept was, I’ve decided I’m better off releasing it as a series of several different save files, some single worlds and others world clusters, depending on what best suits the gameplay angle I’m going for. The first of these was the Dream Town Makeover save file, which features seamless Maxis-match lots and maximizes the potential of the pack content from Eco Lifestyle and Dream Home Decorator by pairing them together. If you haven’t played it yet, I strongly suggest you check it out—it will give you a feel for the concept I’m working with for this save file series.

In light of the recent release of the Businesses and Hobbies expansion pack, which allows you to hold live classes for any skill, I think the concept I’m going to focus on next will revolve around education. I’ve already made substantial headway on immersive versions of Copperdale and Britechester, the two education-focused worlds, and I expect I can have them finished with the new content integrated in about 3 to 4 months. But of course, I also have ideas for building playable elementary and preschools using Businesses and Hobbies, plus extension schools, specialty schools (Windenburg Butlering Academy, anyone?), etc., not to mention my penchant for creating study abroad programs—so in the end, I expect this to wind up as a very large world cluster. I think what I’ll do is release this one in stages: the core worlds of Copperdale and Britechester first for version 1.0, and then a new version every time I complete another world that I want to tack onto it.

And of course, if I ever finish this immersive save file series and have every world done, I will at least try to smoosh them all together into the one giant save file I had originally envisioned, because I’m me. Perhaps the corruption bug will even be fixed by then, who knows?

So keep an eye out for something new in about 3 or 4 months, and until then, happy simming!

BETTER BRAND DEALS MOD

This is a simple tuning mod that changes the rather lacklustre corporate partnership options in Get Famous (seriously, who wants to do an ad for a fishing association?) and increases the amount of money you get from successfully completing a partnership deal. All of the partnerships are now beauty and cosmetics related and will be successfully completed by filming and uploading a video via the Video Station. You'll get anywhere between 15 000 and 35 000 simoleons with an added bonus of 5000 simoleons if the uploaded video is a "Beauty Review." Disclaimer: This is my first public mod. It's basically just a very quick tuning mod I whipped up for my own gameplay purposes. It requires Get Famous and will conflict with any other mods that touch the corporate partnership tuning. The Big Day Collection is a collaboration between me and my partner Serenity. We seek to bring romance and delicacy through designs inspired by gardens and flowers, after all, love needs to be cultivated in the same way.

I think that we as a community should start repelling those people for real. We already know all they do is following trends, ignoring the rest of us, cc tracking, doxing etc. So why do we keep endorsing that shit? Why do we keep paying for it? If they're out there making that amount of money by SELLING cc, it's because there's someone to buy it. I know there are simmers that are out of the community. Mostly kids and teens who have no idea there is an entire community about it. Let the people who don't know about their evildoings raise them, why do we know and still pay for it? PSMBD is out there, dollhouse mafia, kemono party, ts4 rebels, etc etc. They will always have the stuff. And if they don't, is it really worth it? To give money to the kind of person who throws tantrums at a comment section and calls you a freeloader because you want one thing for free? I don't think it is, darling.

i sent that harrie person an ask but i feel like sharing it here as well. i couldn't reply to a comment on her post because she restricted those and after her shitty attitude it rubbed me the wrong way so here's what i sent in response to this comment:

you're restricted comments because you know people are right. as someone who has *literally* just gotten into the tumblr world and is still stumbling around and finding nice cc creators i can start donating to as soon as i get a job after graduation this is a great way of making sure you won't get much more new support. "free downloaders", this is a game we all paid for and there are TOU within EA about cc creators on THEIR codes you use for all this stuff you make. if this is how you make your "salary" like you wrote to that other person, then you need to get a damn job, like i am currently searching for so i can DONATE to the creators who are here because they enjoy the community and not money grabbers like you. i'm so glad i never got to use any of your stuff and never will.

the issue is not the paywalling, it's not the fact she wants to have some sort of gratification for her work, those are totally fine and i already have a list of creators i want to donate to as soon as it's possible for me because life is difficult for everyone and i literally just graduated and i'm looking at having to work outside my field because there are just no positions for me where i live. but to be a complete ass to "free downloaders" and talk about "purchasing cc" and whatever entitled shit this is:

all of this to say, if you're my mutual and didn't know about this, i strongly suggest avoiding anything from this creator because i honestly don't think it's worth it. a rotten personality is the worst here. it just makes me sad because i remember when i was a kid and didnt have any means to even buy the games and i was pirating them and was one of the "free downloaders". even now that i want to donate to so many creators i have to wait until life sets its course so to have these kind of people who demand a "salary" from the community and looks down on those who can't/won't pay it for her is just...icky.
