Who sent these messages?

So I was just looking back on the stream... well the latter half of it. Since I'm talking about the section of time (ha) of where this appears:

Mostly due to the importance of why it's there. This was Sean's failsafe loop to play in case the stream went tits up for some reason or another. But not only was it a failsafe for that situation but it served for another purpose that didn't get to be played out as planned since Sean decided to play then entire thing in one day.

As we all know, the IRIS Project was originally going to play out over the course of about a week, 5 days, if I recall correctly. Each day the stream would appear at some time, have us all play a mini-game to earn a Chase clip. (No joke the minigames were fun. Challenging since we're talking about thousands of people entering commands all at once but still fun IMO) But then IRIS's systems will be alerted to our meddling and kicks us back out as IRIS does a maintenance on their servers in attempt to keep us out. And we're 'locked out' for the day and have to wait the next day to try hacking again. Thus the above image appears. BUT there is something else within that little Server Maintenance Required loop that I just noticed a couple of days ago, that I did share on the official JSE discord. I'm sure others caught onto it waaaay before I have but I haven't seen it be discussed so I'll share it.

In that loop, four words appear.

I can imagine that these words only are suppose to show up during the four days we get locked out of the camera systems before the final day in which Anti breaks into the facility in order to apprehend Chase for himself.

So my question is...

Who the hell sent those?

Like someone on the inside of IRIS, giving us a warning before locking us out for the day then reopen it for us to pop back in to hack? Like, I dunno? Arin? Henrik?

Or could it be out mystery team that had broken into the facility ahead of Anti? Perhaps Echo?

Not sure... but notice how the words get a bit more frantic as it goes. 'Patience' is very clear and easy to read and smaller. But the words 'Wait', 'Don't Look' and 'Hide' get more fuzzy, somewhat harder to read and larger, as if someone is panicking and yelling at us to stop what we're doing.

Granted, we don't listen, too curious and stubborn to see what happens to Chase next. And determined to free him somehow. (Honestly, not sure how big of a part we play in the story, if at all, in the way it affects the story. Or we're in another POV of another character trying to help Chase and the others are yelling at them to stop because they just allowed Anti pass through the defenses? Or it's just meta fun for lulz?) I'm not sure myself, but either case, someone on the other side of the line was panicking for good reason. Anti did tear through the IRIS facility with terrifying speed. (Which brings me to go off topic for a moment. I think the reason why there's no huge pool of blood for Anti to step in and leave footprints as he approaches Chase in that hallway; is because I believe Anti was alternating between walking and floating through the facility and killing people. And the last room he killed in, probably had a pool of blood to step in and he just decided to float in Chase's direction to intimidate and showcase his power to him; before setting himself down to walk closer to him in the end.

-snerk- Now imagine finding several spots of the facility with bloody footprints. Kinda funny, but also clever if he wants to confuse anyone from IRIS following him or investigating what happened of where he was going in the building. If he cared about hiding that at all.)

Anyway, back on topic, the question still stands. Who left those messages in the server maintenance clip? I'm curious to hear your thoughts! Who do you think did that? And were those messages meant for us, the viewers? The 'character' (if there is one)? Or... perhaps meant for Chase?

Perhaps the messages were for Chase...

After all, Anti is the one seeking him out... Chase the one losing his patience... and the one who shouldn't look and must hide from Anti...

EDIT:

I also figured something about the words too. 'Patience' is the only word written in black, while the other words are in white or a mix of both but static. Maybe 'Patience' is more of something of Anti being the one to say it to us viewers to be patient for his arrival or someone telling Anti to be patient so that things will be easier for him.

Either way, its fun! :D

light analysis of the whispers from the IRIS video (+ anti's giggles as bonus)

hey so, i haven't seen ppl talk about the whispers much so i hopped into adobe audition and tried to listen for them. I couldn't decipher much, they are very hard to hear and i don't really understand audio so I couldn't edit them as much as i wanted, but still. Let me know what you guys hear or ignore this if it's no new information.

Whisper sequence 1 (10:46 of the video, slightly edited)

It's really hard to tell, so these are mostly just vague guesses (time codes are relative to the video): 10:46 - "you can't be here… obvious" ? (seems to be a diff voice than the folllowing) 10:50 - "you don't know what you believe.. of of" (first I heard "awful") 10:56 - "...something… you're not thinking…smart" ( could be "you're not thinking straight" ?) 11:05 - "chase" x2 (this one is obvious) 11:07 - "this is what they want us/wuss" (wuss? XD) / "is this what they want..." , "remember me"/"over here"/"out of here" , "do it now" 11:11 - "you can't help him" - this last one I'm pretty confident on, in the video it's hardly audible, so I isolated it and edited slightly and I'm pretty sure it's that

Whisper sequence 2 (19:59, slightly edited)

19:59 - "you know we have to leave" , "We can't be here" , can't tell the S sounds 20:07 - obvious "no"

Chase being dragged (21:00, very slightly edited)

can't hear much in this one, it all kinda blends in for me but one whisper struck me: 21:06 - "you don't mean it/do you mean it" said in a woman's voice, I find that interesting as Arin's character said that earlier

and lastly, at the end of the dragging sequence (21:09, slightly edited) another very hard to hear low whisper:

"This is your grave."

IDK if this is helpful for anything, as again, I can't edit sound very well, but I still wanted to give this a shot anyway. Guys please listen to these and share what you hear and if you agree with the two low whispers I heard. Also I haven't noticed anything sus on spectograms, but I also could've missed stuff.

Hmm that is a good question.

I would lean more towards continual error because someone had to print those out and probably thought the story was taking place in 2022 and no one batted an eye until someone pointed it out too late.

Being so close to the day of the shoot, they probably didn't have the time to replace those, which is probably why, those researchers in the trailer had badges but Arin did not in the Chase clips.

BUT

Seeing as the same research woman from the trailer is on the floor dead in the hall as Anti enters frame like a badass...

Her badge is still there with her.

I'm not sure if anyone can read it from that angle or close up from one of the shots without the heavy shadow, but if it still says 2022, then Chase did go missing for a few years in that time jump. Which can explain a few things that made me question for quite awhile, I just wasn't sure how to voice it.

Back in CHASE, in 2019, Anti is there with him. You only see him briefly in the backseat of the car, smiling at us, the viewers, and whomever else was watching. He doesn't do anything besides sit there to give us the feeling of dread for Chase, a constant shadow looming over him for whatever was causing his misery and depression.

He doesn't appear in the woods with Chase as he walks from his car to the stack of rocks that are both a grave and wish rocks. (I don't know about the wish rocks but I'm hanging onto it since it was something Magpie mentioned in a tweet) But you still feel that sense of dread even if Anti wasn't there physically to be seen by us. You just know he's still there.

That sense of dread grows as you see the rocks, Chase pulling out the photo and gives it a kiss then sets in the rocks. From that action alone, you get the idea of what happened and get the somewhat understandings of why Anti is around him. Not completely but a gist of it.

Chase starts to drink his pain away then...

Poof!

He's in a city with no ideas how he got there and why. Just he was there with no explanation.

In Anomaly Found, Anti is no where around him, Arin speaks with, gets a mental attack from Anti, Echo prevents another mental attack (I guess?) to speak with Chase briefly and the rest of the clips show what happens. We all saw it lol.

What I find interesting is Anti not being there. Like at all and only is able to do psyche attacks which were very few. And Seán mentions about the shadows of Anti reaching out to Chase. Why? Why is he reaching out to him when he's already have a hold of the poor man?

I question this again when deciphering the audio (which I still need to raise the volume of the others soon) on the final clip of Anomaly Found, where the facility was under siege by a very surprise visit of Anti... There is an clip of audio at the very beginning of two people arguing as alarms blare before Arin arrives in Chase's room to lead him out. But there is a third voice that grows and over powers those two arguing. The growling screech of Anti calling Chase's name.

Again why? Why is he growling out Chase's name here? It's not to intimidate him, Chase doesn't hear it thus doesn't react. Chase doesn't know what is happening when the alarms go off, just that 'something is happening' but he doesn't know it's Anti. He doesn't know Anti is coming for him. That he broke into the facility, turning it into a slaughterhouse just to get to him.

I can give you my guess of why.

Chase was taken from him. And he wants his puppet back.

I'm sure a few are asking what do I mean by that. Think about it. In CHASE, Chase just vanishes from the woods with no explanation. If he just ended up in some random city within the same time of day in the same year, Anti's connection to him would have him find him faster. A few weeks, a couple of months at most. Not years.

Chase was missing for a few years and Anti couldn't find him. The time jump (if this is at all 2022) likely weakened Anti's connection to Chase to the point where he didn't know where (or when) the fuck Chase went.

If the jump had been Anti's doing, you'd think he'd know where the hell he put him or at the very least gone with him to continue messing with his mind.

Oddly enough Anti didn't when you know damn well he would go along since it's his doing.

So one of three things could have happened that I can think of, there's probably more but I'm writing this as I'm just waking up.

Marvin's magic or Henrik's time machine latched onto Chase and threw him into time. Anti does not appreciate that lol.

Anti was doing it but something interfered and caused Anti to lose Chase for a while, making him hunt him down. Anti again doesn't appreciate that.

Or something else caused the jump and Anti didn't see that coming. Anti would kindly (not really) tell whomever or whatever did that to fuck off.

There's always the fourth, funny option of Anti did the jump, throwing Chase too far and was like "Fuck I lost my frisbee."

Or the fifth more serious one if Anti did it on purpose to find a way into IRIS to cause as much damage as possible to them. Probably, kinda doubt it.

If that's the case of Anti having Chase be taken from him abruptly and without his permission, he probably searched for Chase by pinging where he was, via the mental attacks or using Chase's pings of misery, depression and frustration with IRIS to locate him and tear through the facility to get his victim back.

And thus finally appears to Chase, fully manifested in physical form and alarming Chase that shit just got worse for him.

If course all of what I said is mere speculation from a goddamn badge lol

So question:

So in Anomaly Found, Arin states at the beginning of Chase’s interview that it’s October 2019 at that time, leading us to believe currently that the events that we saw took place several years ago in 2019.

But I just remembered that the IRIS scientist IDs that we saw in the IRIS trailer show an issue date for January 2022:

and this is the same scientist that we see dead at the end of Anomaly Found

I know the additional scenes of the IRIS scientists in the breakroom was only used in the trailer/ended up not being used in Anomaly Found itself. So do ya’ll maybe think the dates on the IDs are just continuity errors/not really meant to be canonical? 😅

or do you think arin was lying to chase about it still being 2019? 👀

I just thought of something...

I was just listening to the Argentum Inanis audio again...

Yes, I know, why did I do it after spending literal hours listening to it while editing it to try to make it clear. Well it's less about making it clear this time, as I just only listened to the original audio of it from my own post.

It has nothing to do with what was said... instead this realization actually aimed to WHO said it.

Duh, who said it? Anti. Who else could it be, haha, right?

Well...

What if it was Argentum Inanis that said it? Well half of it at least.

In the video when Marvin places his hand on the orb to look at the events that have happened or will happen (depending on when Marvin saw all of this)... We hear Anti do his infamous giggle.

BUT

The first one to speak to Marvin was not Anti persay but Argentum. The one that says "Do you want him back, Marvin?" was an growling echo. Which isn't all that surprising, Anti's voice growls and warps as he glitches out the audio whenever he shows up, especially when overly emotional in anger or taunting. At least in the past but we come to understand that Anti is much more stable than before. The thing is about that is even with the growling echo... it still closer to Anti's normal voice.

This one... was much more warped than usual. And it's making me think that Argentum spoke directly to Marvin before Anti cuts in with the "There's time" line.

And if that's true then Argentum did possess a body to go rampant as Anti. Or at least made Anti his Avatar and Argentum is taunting Marvin from his own space while letting him see what Anti is doing.

This spooks Marvin... at first you think he pulled away because of what he sees having been done or will be done... but likely the fact the creature in the book SPOKE to him directly. And he probably pulled away to avoid looking at Argentum, in case the massive ball of eyes and runes was to pop up on him in the orb.

Did Anti truly take possession of Marvin? It was implied by Sean and Robin... implied but not confirmed or denied.

Or did Marvin make a deal with Argentum to stop Anti at the cost of burning the book?
