Even here in Nouveau Lotus Pier.#Ah...Lan Wangji never got a chance to see the Lotus Pier of Wei Wuxian's childhood and adolescence...did he?#It's not the same. He's not the same. i know we never got to see it for either angela or nyla when they had their babies, but i've always had this headcanon that whenever someone at mid-wilshire welcomes a new member into their family grey starts roll call with a picture of their little one, along with the standard criteria next to it, ya know, height/weight/length/etc. and then everyone does a drumroll at their tables as he does a dramatic name reveal, and i just hope that one day in the future we'll actually get to see him do so for tim and lucy. it would be so cute. 🥹🫶

His hardware cant keep up with his software #<- (He overheats a lot which is a cause for more organic body language like blushing and having a reason to breathe)#Neo doesn't understand why he doesn't update his hardware. Neo has a much more efficient processor so she never overheats.#Shadow is afraid to go under such a big change. 1.) Nine PTSD. he gets squeamish about getting unnecessary maintenance.#2.) He prefers to feel organic by slowly updating hardware to mimick aging. 3.) His hardware has Black Arms tech in it!!#His hardware is super adaptive and can't be irreparably damaged because it can heal itself #also he doesn't know if that contributes to his variety of emotions and sentience. so he is NOT gambling that.#Shadow needs to feel like he's organic. Neo doesn't. Neo doesn't understand why he'd choose an old flawed system.#Neo still respects his decision. it actually makes her more curious because be can have such physical responses to stimuli.#ALSO HEHEHE #they bond over having free will stripped from them!#scariest experience of Shadows existence is basically how Neo felt for YEARS. i love the idea of young dad, touya, honestly, like i think it could really work for him in a way.

you meet him when he's much older of course, because he comes by the restaurant you work at on his lunch break, and he's always taking over for anyone that tries to give your car an oil change or tire rotation. and he's always talking about his kids ! his daughter and son, the prides of his life, his reasons for living and best friends.

he never shows you any pictures of them, not at the start, and it's not until your relationship takes a more serious turn that you actually meet them — and you're expecting young kids. seven and five or ten and eight or something near there.

you're not expecting thirty-one year old touya to have a fourteen year old daughter, with green-lined braces and acne on her cheeks, or his quiet, glasses-wearing eleven year old boy that looks just like him.

thinking about tipsy trent/tedependent again (after seeing some of my old posts here and here) and like, i've got two different fics where they hook-up while drunk but i'm Still Thinking About It. specifically i am thinking about trent, tipsy and instantly thrilled to see ted (trent, aloof and cold and standoffish journalist, upon seeing ted lasso while even slightly tipsy: [immediately turning into the human embodiment of ":D!!!!"] TED!!!) and being just drunk enough to start flirting. terribly. luckily for him ted finds it to be incredibly endearing (and if part of him is secretly, guiltily a little flattered that trent is just so pleased to see him, let alone that trent wants him so earnestly--well that's fine) and. god. should they be having irresponsible tipsy sex while trent's still a journalist? absolutely not. is it even likely in canon? no. do i care? also no, BAM, fate aligns just right where trent's drunk enough to actually flirt with ted, ted's drunk enough to flirt back, and this somehow ends up with one of them in the other's bed and there's sloppy making out which turns into clumsy giggly drunk sex which turns into sleepy cuddling which turns into waking up the next morning like Oh Fuck.
