Hi everyone! There's no way to say this that isn't awkward, but I made something to decorate toilets specifically! I like to take inspiration from the real world, so I've been noticing little things that are present in our reality and have never been seen in the Sims before, at least not in my game. And I must say, I really enjoy those little flower stamps people keep putting into toilets in cleaning videos (I have one too, but it's a very ugly shape for no reason). I thought about it and realized I'd never seen anything of the kind for the game, so I went ahead and created my first ever finished mesh from scratch, which is just a plain surface, to be honest, but it goes well with the first mesh I've ever converted, which I'm pretty sure was a period painkiller box... Anyway! I know small stamps like this probably wouldn't actually color the water in the bowl, but whenever I see those things that do color it I find them really funny, so I decided to make something like that to go with the stamp. Yeah, today I'm sharing a toilet water colorant. I don't know what to say in my defence. Toilets can be fun now!

Also, yes, the Part I in the name is a threat.

So, let's dive in! (or rather not...)

♡ Overview

This set consist of two objects, a flower gel stamp and a colored water surface. They're modeled to work with Maxis toilets, but are supposed to be compatible with custom ones, too, as long as they follow the Maxis shape. You don't have to use moveobjects to position them! They can intersect any object, allowing to place them directly into the toilet. Sims don't mind having them in the way (or their own clothing, for that matter).

Both objects can be found in Plumbing/Miscellaneous and cost §2 each.

♡ Object 1: Toilet Gel Stamp

This is an object to attach to the back of your toilet bowl. It's supposed to be positioned as shown in the screenshots above, but maybe you could put it in other spots, I haven't checked!

The mesh is a whole lot of 2 polygons, and it uses 128x128 textures because the flower was very cute up close and I couldn't help myself. It's an actual image from the game, it comes from the interests section! I made it semi-transparent so that it would look like actual gel texture (shout out to my best friend for suggesting that). It comes in 10 ridiculously bright colors that I had fun naming like they're candy flavors. They are all supposed to smell nice, just trust me!

♡ Object 2: Toilet Water Enhancer

Maybe some of us just deserve to have pretty water inside our toilets. To achieve that, I took the mesh of actual water directly from the toilet and just put it a bit higher up, so it's basically like a cap. Because of that, you won't really be able to witness the animation of flushing water or see if the toilet is clogged while this object is present.

The mesh is 6 polygons and uses 128x128 textures. I made 27 recolors in various colors I think are pretty, because the whole point of this project is to add something to the bathroom that will take our minds away from its general purpose. The swatches actually use a mix of Maxis water textures.

All swatches are pictured below in alphabetical order (aside from the mesh one, ignore where it is in the picture).

ok hi. so dream played a bunch of demos for twwth + a few extras on his stream a few days ago. and they slapped. and i love demos. so i cut them up into their own tracks and uploaded them HERE (on mediafire) for people to download for themselves!

contents include: afraid of myself (2 versions), everest (2 versions), invincible (like u) (2 versions), kind of love, panic attack, paranoid, slow down, spotlight, and until i end up dead!

fair warning: very few of these are full songs. dream skipped around, and in the interest of preserving as much of the song as possible, i decided to leave in him skipping around etc etc. listen through and pick which demos you want (you can always rename the files once theyre downloaded to your device). theres also some bits of him talking over songs, again, couldn't isolate just the music, as well as some parkour warrior noises at some points

HOW TO GET THESE ONTO SPOTIFY: download the songs from the folder (youll only be able to download them one at a time). open spotify. open your settings. make sure that the setting "Show Local Files" under the Your Library header is ON. this will show a new playlist in your library labeled local files. WOOO YOU HAVE THE SONGS ON YOUR DEVICE NOW! put them on playlists as you like, but be aware that they're only available on That Device. if you make the playlist on your computer and then want to listen to it from your phone, you're going to need to download the files from mediafire there too (in total, it's about 54mb of data, if that matters to you)

Important Updates!

So everyone kinda knows how I'm struggling to release cc rn so I'll list some reasons why I'm currently struggling.

I'm loosing Interest In posting anything on tumblr rn.

I've been out of energy and extremely tired for a while now. I don't really know what's going on with me but I haven't been really able to do much other then sleep

First of all I'm no longer keeping the voting poll active. I'll also only be making cc that I'm Interested In. I Just don't really care for the game but I do like a lot of the designs so I might be making them In the future still! I might make a big batch of mini sets for the HI3 characters that I haven't done yet so you'll at least have the hairs.

Made my current batch shorter as well. I'm going to pick future characters just based on who I wan't to work on.

Welcome to Calabruhsas!

Calabruhsas is a favourite of celebrities: with its beaches and nightlife, many famous sims choose to live here. However, where there are celebrities, there's always celebri-tea, and in Calabruhsas nobody is who they seem. Not in a cool, mysterious way, though, more like in a shallow, superficial kind of way.

Calabruhsas is a neighbourhood I've been working on for so long now, and I'm so happy to announce that it's finally in a state where I can upload it for you guys!

Calabruhsas' concept was partly inspired by Steph0sims on youtube, and partly by a ModTheSims forum post of someone "rescuing" Vanessa Jeong from TS4 Get Famous into TS2. It has famous faces from the sims, some recognizable faces from tea channels, and some "nobodies" you might grow to like. I made a lot of references to a lot of niche culture throughout, which I'm interested to see if people find (hint: me being Hungarian has a lot to do with them).

The Base Sim Project’s FAQ

When I had this idea, I didn’t think I’d have so many interested parties. In fact, I didn’t think I’d get any questions, much less frequently asked ones, but here we are. Thank you to everyone who has shown an interest in this project!

Q: I want to make a Sim. How do I share it with you?

A: For now, just upload the file to whatever file sharing service you have available to you (Mega, Mediafire, Dropbox, Google Drive, SFS, etc.) and DM me the link on Reddit (@LimitedTimeOtter) or here on my Tumblr. If I get a lot more participation, I’m going to set up an email address, but for now, DMing me will do.

Q: How many Sims can I send you?

A: Please only send 5 Sims at a time, but you can send as many as you want as long as you send them in batches of 5 or less. That’s the easiest amount for me to get uploaded quickly.

Q: What should I include in the file I send you?

A: Send me the .sim file, a CAS picture of the Sim, and a .txt (a Notepad file) telling me:

The Sims’ names if they have names

How you want to be credited (your name, Tumblr link, social media name, or if you want to be left anonymous)

What age group the Sim is (YA, A, Elder, teen, etc.)

Q: Do I send you a Sims3pack or .sim file? 

A: A .sim file. Part of the reason is any CC and mods still present in the game can hitch a ride with the Sim in a Sims3pack (or so I’ve heard from Exchange horror stories) and they don’t with .sim files. This way, anyone who wants to download a Sim from the project will just get a Sim and no unwanted clutter.

Q: How do I find the .sim file on my computer?

A: Click here for a full picture tutorial to locate your .sim file.

Q: Can I use CC or sliders on my Sims?

A: No. This is a CC and slider free project. I want these Sims to be as accessible as possible so people can use them without CC they may not want in their game. Not everyone uses CC!

Q: Should I make a single Sim or a whole family?

A: Either is welcome! It all depends on how much you want to create. Single Sims are great, families are great, anything you want to share is great lol. Keep in mind, the families will not be uploaded together as a single household. The Sims will be uploaded individually so other people can decide whether they want to use them as a family or not.

Q: Do the Sims have to be YAs or can we make our Sims other ages?

A: They can be any age! My goal with this project is to have as diverse a pool as possible to draw from.

Q: Can I use things like hair, clothes, and makeup from expansion/stuff packs on my Sims?

A: Yes, you can. Sims 3 replaces whatever items belonging to packs that the user doesn’t have installed with base game items and, in my personal experience, it’s been a smooth, bug-free transition. However, if you’re going to use items from other packs, please let me know what those items are (hair, clothes, makeup, etc., you don’t have to be super detailed, just let me know what category they’re in) and what pack(s) you used so I can include a disclaimer on the post and in the .txt file included with the Sim. I do ask that Store items are kept to a minimum, but pack items are fine.

Q: I’m not ok with my Sims being edited. Can I still participate?

A: The main idea behind this project was to have base Sims that people can edit to use any way they want. This may include just adding CC makeup and hair or it may include facial features and gender being changed. My rule of thumb is, don’t share any Sims you’re not ok with this happening to.

Q: What will you do when you receive the Sims?

A: I will put the Sims into my own game, snap a CAS pic of them, then crop the pic, add a drop shadow, and write the name of the Sim at the top right corner of the pic just for easy reference. This is mainly so the pictures look as uniform as possible so as not to create a distraction for people looking for Sims to use. I will not alter the Sims’ appearance in any way. I will then upload a .zip file containing the .sim file, a .txt file including your credit, and the edited CAS picture of the Sim to SimFileShare and link it in a post tagged “sim download” and “townie project” on my Simblr.

Q: Can I include lore with my Sims?

A: If you want to write lore, feel free! Otherwise, it’s not a requirement. These Sims will be used mainly as bases but if you want to include lore to be used as a base as well, I’ll accept that as long as it’s not too long and detailed. Remember, any scenarios you come up with for these Sims should be open-ended and not too strict. Other Simmers may use your storylines or they may ignore them entirely for storylines of their own.

Q: You made a mistake in my name/link/Sim’s name.

A: Well, dang. Unfortunately, that’s bound to happen at some point. If I make a mistake, just drop me a DM either on Reddit (@LimitedTimeOtter) or here and I’ll get it corrected as soon as I am able.

Q: How do I install the Sims I download?

A: Extract the .zip file and locate the .sim file of the Sim you want. Then, navigate to your Saved Sims folder and drop the .sim file into it. That’s it! The Sim will then appear in your bin in CAS, ready to go.

Q: What can I do with the Sims from this project?

A: Pretty much anything you want! Click here to see an example from my own game.

BTW, trying out Mega instead of MediaFire because I read that MF has a tendency to purge old files. Hopefully using SFS makes the backup issue moot, but you never know. Followers, do you have a preference?

And speaking of SFS, the activity page is interesting, but I'm not sure it's accurate. I didn't post any defaults last Friday, but SFS shows that I had 3x more downloads than any other day. Tumblr's algorithm, faulty data gathering methodology, or just multiple people going on a downloading spree?

I thought I saw somewhere you mentioned something being one of your most downloaded files and that it surprised you, so I was just wondering what are your top 3-5 most downloaded (if it tells you that) and maybe your least downloaded? Are you often surprised by what does or doesn't get a lot of downloads?

Interesting question! Though also a reminder of how terrible it is to have almost a dozen different MediaFire accounts, as I had to log into each one and check it, log out, rinse and repeat... Anyway, the most popular files in each account, and the amount of downloads they've received, are:

My least downloaded ones don't really "say" anything about popularity, because those are the files I send out only for trading, so it's not surprising if they're downloaded only 1 or 2 times because only 1 or 2 people ever get them.

Now as for the most popular, the fact that the French dub was hugely popular was not surprising at all (you would not believe how many times I've seen that question being thrown around); that the unofficial Brazil cast recording (really just a soundboard with a little more polish) was also pretty popular was (Brazil fans represent).

The bootlegs for the most part did not surprise me either, as they are all of performers who are well-liked in the fandom right now. But I was actually a bit shocked at just how high the Davies/Beck/Bailey audio was, which I can only put down to Gina Beck still being extraordinarily popular after all this time (and maybe also to Scott Davies being pretty good).

Oh, and it didn't make the list because it was "only" second most popular, but there's an audio I posted of Jeremy Stolle's Phantom that has over 700 downloads, which was again very amazing to me as he's "only" an understudy, and similarly is probably a testament to the great love fans hold for him.

Make a list of what you have on a document, text file, spreadsheet, website, Encora, or elsewhere. Sending screenshots of your file folders is a definite sign of a new trader, and is just hard to search.

Put down specific cast members, dates, and locations. Again, describing a bootleg as “Be More Chill OBC” or the like is a big newbie flag, plus can be very confusing if there are multiple bootlegs of that cast/show.

Send your list and as much information in your first email. There’s nothing more redundant than sending a one-sentence email going, “Hi do u wanna trade”.

List file formats, especially for videos. Traders definitely want to know if they’re getting VOBs, MP4s, etc.

Research the trader you are contacting - what they have a lot of and what they lack is really helpful for determining how interested they might be in your list. Don’t be like the person who said, “Hi I want your Phantom video and I can trade you a cast recording of 42nd Street” despite me having absolutely nothing of that show.

Look around in places where traders congregate. Musical Exchange, Yahoo boards, Discord, Encora, these are all good places to find traders, talk to them, see what’s out there.

The Victorian period is the time Queen Victoria reigned over the United Kingdom.  She was succeeded by her son Edward after her death which marked the end of the era. 

I had never delved into Historical or Vampire CC before this so I had a lot of fun. There is SO much historical content out there and it's all stunning.  Also a lot of Vampire content...which is generally less stunning (more gory).  But I am obsessed with my vamps (check out their eyes....they have broken capillaries! Shout out to @obscurus-sims for A+ content)

Hey guys! As you might have guessed already, I reached 700 followers a few days ago and the number of people following me and the Sullivan adventures just keeps growing every day! Also, I wanted to share with you a happy news I got last week. You probably don’t know but I want to become an Educator, I love children, specially little tods, I just love to see them learn new things and the magic in their eyes when they’re having fun is just something that really warms my heart. On January, I had to take a few very hard tests to enter a school where I would learn how to become an Educator, we were more than 900 and they had only 40 spots. I learned on June that my grades weren’t hight enough to have a spot but they told me that people could still change their minds and leave their spot. Unfortunately, I was number 39 on the waiting list and I got no call over the summer. For me, it was over, I was already preparing myself for the next selection on January 2018. BUT, last week I got a call from someone from the school saying that someone didn’t show up the first week of school and so they had a spot for me if I was still interested! Honestly, I couldn’t believe it! I worked so hard and I finally got what I wanted! Of course, I accepted right away. So yeah, I just finished my first week there and I am really happy! All of this to say that :

Positivity attracts positivity. If you work hard, if you believe in yourself and if you stay positive, then the world might just smile at you! Never forget that!
