・Jinx was always the ler for Isha and Sevika. Sevika would fight back though.

Mismatched Eyes Of Fire

SUMMARY It's your first day at UA, everyone you've met has seemed genuine (with the exception of Bakugo), though one person stands out against the rest, a boy with a similar fire in his eyes that you had seen in Tenko.

CONTENT WARNINGS death, depictions of homeless children, mentions of abuse, loss, memorial shrines, and grief. For the sake of the series (and my conscience), all characters are aged up while still following the plot of MHA. In other words, think of UA as a college rather a high school.

SERIES MASTERLIST

Eraserhead was eerily quiet as he led you through the halls of the school you could now call home. The hallways were a labyrinth of polished floors and sleek walls adorned with inspiring posters of pro heroes. As you followed, you couldn't help but notice the grandeur of UA: high ceilings, bright lighting, and a sense of history embedded in the very walls. The hallways buzzed with energy, the chatter of students mingling with the occasional announcement over the PA system. You walked up several steps and took even more turns before arriving at a pair of grand wooden doors with a small plaque that read "Principal Nezu."

Before opening the door, Eraserhead introduced himself as Mr. Aizawa and asked that you address him as such unless out on missions. You readily agreed, feeling a wave of gratitude toward your new teacher for sticking his neck out to help you find better sleep arrangements than the cold, dirty concrete you had been sleeping on.

Aizawa had you wait outside Principal Nezu’s office for what felt like hours as he shared your situation behind closed doors. The minutes dragged on, feeling like an eternity as you rocked back and forth on your feet, growing more anxious about the whole housing ordeal. Yes, you were now a student at UA, but the school’s dorms were for general studies students and definitely cost more than you could ever dream to afford. You stared at the polished wooden door, tracing the intricate patterns in the wood grain with your eyes, trying to calm your nerves. The soft hum of voices behind the door was barely audible, adding to your anxiety as you waited.

When the doors finally swung open, Aizawa was accompanied by the mousy principal walking elegantly at his side. Nezu, though small in stature, exuded an air of authority and intelligence that was palpable. He looked you over contemplatively, taking stock of your body language and your tattered appearance with a simple hum and a nod toward Aizawa.

"I can see now what you are talking about," the principal said, his voice soft, unwavering, and detached, which you found more unsettling than comforting. "Excuse my manners, dear," he chuckled hauntingly. "My name is Nezu. I run this academy, and it has been brought to my attention that you have nowhere to stay comfortably while you are with us, is that correct?"

You immediately nodded, a harsh blush reddening your cheeks and neck. "Yes, sir," you managed to choke out, bowing respectfully.

"No need to be embarrassed. Do you mind if I ask some questions, out of personal curiosity?" Nezu wondered, Aizawa sending him a confused look.

"Of course," you stammered in response, looking between the two men (?).

"Do you have any family?" Nezu’s question was delivered as gently as the intellectual rodent could manage.

"No," you responded quickly, your throat burning with the need to weep at the reminder of your loss, of Tenko.

"Why are you here? What is it you wish to achieve in our hero academy?" Nezu continued, his black eyes gleaming with curiosity. When you let out a shaky breath, he immediately took a breath to reign himself in. "My apologies, I am used to having a good read on the people I meet, but you seem to be an enigma. I hope I didn’t offend you."

"No!" you responded quickly. "You didn’t, it’s just a sore subject," you paused, taking a deep breath before continuing. "I raised myself on the streets since I lost both my parents before I could remember them. I guess that loneliness and feeling of invisibility pushed me to want to be a hero. I want to help people feel seen, if that makes sense," you chuckled bashfully, rubbing your neck.

"Thank you for indulging me," the principal responded somewhat cheerily, waving a paw at Aizawa who was still standing at his side. "Mr. Aizawa will show you to your room. Also, I am personally going to pay for your tuition."

"I couldn’t," you immediately declined, your head spinning at his offer. "Having free board is enough. Seriously, I will get a job or something and pay it myself."

"Nonsense," Nezu smiled—or at least that’s what you thought he was doing. "Consider it a donation made in good faith. You will be a welcome star in our hero course this year. I don’t want you to worry about anything except for your training," Nezu nodded at Aizawa before giving you one last curious look and returning to his office. You thanked him hesitantly before the heavy doors closed.

"This way," Aizawa huffed, encouraging you to follow him back down the way you came.

The dorms at UA were gorgeous, towering buildings with each class’s numbers on them. Aizawa led you to one furthest from the rest of the dorms, the lettering above the building reading 1-A. It was the only building in the area aside from an identical building reading 1-B standing tall just opposite 1-A, separated by a wide cement walkway. The buildings looked newly constructed, with large windows that let in ample sunlight, making them look warm and inviting. The exterior was modern, with sleek lines and a blend of concrete and glass that gave it a sophisticated yet welcoming appearance.

As you approached the doors of the dorms, Aizawa stopped you. "Your room is the only complete one at the moment, fifth floor on the right in the middle. Also, here is a meal card. Just show it at the cafeteria when you get food, and you should have no trouble there."

"Thank you," you stammered in awe, taking the license-sized card colored in blue with the classic gold UA lettering on the front and a barcode on the back.

"The communal showers should be operating as well as the kitchen. If you find any issues, my room is on the first floor past the living room on the left," he added, opening the doors for both of you to enter. The lobby of the dorm was spacious and modern, with comfortable-looking furniture arranged around a large television. The walls were adorned with motivational posters and bulletin boards filled with various notices and announcements. There was a large communal area with plush couches, a few tables for studying or eating, and a game area complete with a pool table and several arcade machines.

"You should get your uniform sometime tonight or early tomorrow morning before classes start. As far as your hero costume goes, just submit your idea with any specifications to me before the week is up, and we’ll have the support department get it done for you."

"Sir, I don’t know what to say, this is all—I’m grateful," you breathed, desperately trying to keep your composure.

"All that we ask in return is that you do your best, plus ultra and all that," he rolled his eyes at himself, seemingly irritated that the school's moto had made its way past his lips. Rather than cringe, you were filled with a new sense of determination. You would not let these opportunities pass you by, and you would show everyone that all the effort and money they had put into you wasn’t in vain. You would earn every cent back by becoming the best.

"I will, sir," you bowed with a determined gleam in your eyes, causing your teacher’s lip to curl into an almost imperceptible smile—something you doubted happened often.

As Aizawa left, you took a moment to absorb your surroundings. The kitchen was state-of-the-art, with stainless steel appliances and a large island for communal cooking. You took the elevator up to the fifth floor, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. Your room was at the middle of the hall, just as Aizawa had described. When you opened the door, you were greeted by a simple but cozy space with a bed, a desk, and a small window overlooking the campus. The room was sparsely furnished but had a warmth to it, with soft lighting and neutral tones that made it feel welcoming. A small dresser was tucked into the corner, and a bookshelf stood next to the desk, waiting to be filled with your belongings.

Setting your backpack down, you took a deep breath. This was your new beginning. You had a place to stay, food to eat, and the opportunity to become a hero. For Tenko, and for yourself, you would give it everything you had.

Your uniform had arrived just like Aizawa said, with a note reminding you to submit your hero costume design by the end of the week. The uniform fit perfectly, a stark contrast to the ill-fitting clothes you'd been wearing. It felt strange to be in something so clean and well-tailored, almost like stepping into a new identity. You'd spent several nights working on your hero costume design, carefully considering every detail, particularly the need for ear protection. When you finally handed it to Aizawa, you made sure to emphasize this requirement.

Aizawa nodded, taking the paper from you. Then, he handed you some cash. "From Nezu. He said to go buy some new clothes with it, preferably ones that fit."

Your face flushed red at the comment as you glanced down at your too-short pants and too-tight top. "Thank you, sir," you responded meekly, taking the money without complaint. By this point, you understood that it was no use arguing with the principal about money or anything else he had provided for your comfort. With a grunt, Aizawa left you to your thoughts, walking back to his room in the complex.

Today was your first day of classes, your first opportunity to prove yourself. You hadn’t had time to go out and buy new clothes yet, between studying and preparing, so you were thankful for the mandatory uniforms. As you got ready, you marveled at the difference consistent showers, access to clean water, and regular meals had made. You felt rejuvenated, less tired, and it showed. The dirt streaks and stains were gone, your calloused hands were softer, and your body had filled out enough to hide your ribs. You were beyond grateful for the opportunities you had been given, the space to prepare for the next big step in your life. This was going to change the course of your life forever, and there was no going back.

You had a feeling that these small acts of care were influenced by Tenko beyond the grave. For some reason, being here, achieving both your dreams, made you feel close to him, more connected. It felt nice; you felt seen again, a feeling that only Tenko had ever been able to give you. On top of that, you had asked Aizawa if you could set up a memorial shrine for your long-lost friend, and he had given you no resistance. Now that you had the means, you could remember Tenko properly. Every night before bed, you would light a censer and share your day with your friend, hoping he could hear your call and share in some of your light the same way you shared in his.

As you walked through the dormitory halls, you noticed how the early morning sun filtered through the large windows, casting a warm glow on everything it touched. The hallways were still quiet, with only a few students up and about, but there was a palpable sense of excitement in the air. You made your way to the common area, where a few students were already gathering, most likely checking out newly finished dorms, their nervous chatter filling the space. Some of them glanced at you curiously, but you were too focused on your thoughts to pay them much attention.

Standing at the entrance of your classroom, 1-A, you took a deep breath and stepped inside. The room was spacious and filled with state-of-the-art equipment. The desks were arranged in a semi-circle, ensuring everyone had a good view of the front where a large digital board displayed today's date and the UA logo. You took a seat near the middle, trying to find a balance between being too close to the front and not wanting to be too far back.

As more students trickled in, you noticed a few familiar faces from the entrance exam. Kirishima, the boy who had saved you from being crushed by the robot, waved enthusiastically at you before taking a seat nearby. You smiled and waved back, feeling a bit more at ease knowing you had at least one friendly face in the class. The chatter around you grew louder, filled with excitement and anticipation for what the day would bring.

Finally, the door opened, and Aizawa walked in, his usual tired expression in place. He set his things down on the desk at the front of the room and scanned the class, his gaze stopping momentarily on you. You straightened up, meeting his eyes with determination.

"Welcome to your first day at UA High School," he began, his voice firm but quieting the room instantly. "I am Mr. Aizawa, your homeroom teacher. We have a lot to cover, so let's get started."

By the time lunch rolled around, you were pretty familiar with most of your classmates. Mina, the fluffy pink-haired girl who had talked your ear off before the entrance exam, was still a ball of energy. When she noticed you seated next to Kirishima, she squealed, skipping over to you to start a conversation, with the rest of her group following along. Mina's exuberance was infectious, and you couldn't help but smile as she animatedly introduced her friends.

Hagakure, the invisible girl, nearly matched Mina’s enthusiasm. Her cheerful voice was easy to recognize, and she greeted you warmly. Ochaco introduced herself as Uraraka with a sweet smile and a polite bow, her presence gentle and kind. Jiro gave you a bored once-over before turning back to her conversation with a girl named Yaoyorozu, who introduced herself with a composed and confident demeanor. Yaoyorozu's authoritative aura suggested she would make a good leader.

Finally, a small girl named Asui waved hello, her expression wise and calm. She insisted on being called Tsu, and you were happy to oblige. Her serene demeanor was a calming influence amidst the lively group.

During a break between subjects, you met Shoji, Sato, and Koda. They were all kindhearted and easy to talk to when they did speak. Shoji's multi-armed form was imposing yet gentle, Sato's muscular build was contrasted by his soft-spoken nature, and Koda's connection with animals was endearing.

Ojiro introduced himself after you almost tripped over his tail. He chuckled, catching you by your arm with a crooked smile and a soft apology. His calm and composed demeanor made you feel at ease.

Kirishima introduced you to Kaminari, whom you had started to hope for a friendship with. Kaminari was actually really funny, but it seemed he was more focused on cracking jokes and making friends than on learning. You liked Kaminari, but you preferred Kirishima's grounded nature. Kirishima was just as kind as the day you met him at the entrance exam.

You introduced yourself to Tokoyami, who was hiding in a dark corner of the classroom, looking grossed out by something the short purple-haired guy had said. Tokoyami's brooding presence was intriguing, and you found his straightforwardness refreshing. Soon after, you had the displeasure of running into Mineta, the short purple-haired guy. You quickly understood why Tokoyami had made a weird face; Mineta was a perv.

You recognized Iida as the kid who asked the only question at the entrance exam. Turns out he wasn’t stuck up; he was just very particular about rules and guidelines. At least he seemed dedicated to his education, and you thought he could make a good leader if he learned to be more accepting of others' faults. Sero was talking with Iida at the time, so you were introduced to him as well. Sero's laid-back attitude was a nice contrast to Iida's strictness.

Aoyama was just sitting at his desk "sparkling," so you didn’t really have the opportunity to talk to him, but at least he was better than Bakugo, who was straight up unapproachable. In fact, Bakugo tried to yell at you when he bumped shoulders with you on the way to his desk, which led to the only acceptable response: you getting right back in his face and calling him out.

"You’re the one who ran into me!" you scoffed, sending an apologetic look toward the group of girls you were mingling with. They all stood stock still in shock at your response. The entire classroom had gone silent, seemingly holding their breaths for Bakugo's reaction.

"Weren’t you the idiot that was the closest to my score?" he huffed, glaring at you.

"Yes," you said confidently, throwing daggers with your eyes in his direction. Bakugo seemed unfazed, just as you were of him.

"You better get ready, I’ll kill you on the mats later!" Bakugo yelled, a sinister smile curving his lips as small licks of orange crackled from his palms. You scoffed, rolling your eyes at the pathetic threat.

"We’ll see," you hummed before turning back to your conversation as if nothing had happened. Being ignored seemed to only piss Bakugo off more, but he held his tongue and sat down.

That led you to now, walking through the lunch line at the cafeteria, gathering your food card in hand as you paid for your mapo tofu and a side of rice. The aroma of the spicy tofu dish made your stomach growl in anticipation. You had run into a green-haired kid when initially getting into line. He was one of the students you hadn’t had a chance to meet before class started. His name was Midoriya, and he was incredibly sweet and friendly. The two of you chatted up a storm while in line, sharing your mutual excitement about being at UA and your dreams of becoming heroes. Midoriya's enthusiasm and genuine kindness made you feel even more welcome at UA, and you were grateful to have met someone who shared your passion for heroism.

As you made your way through the bustling cafeteria, the aroma of various dishes wafting through the air, you balanced your tray carefully. The cafeteria was abuzz with the lively chatter of students, the clatter of utensils, and the hum of excitement as everyone shared their morning experiences.

You navigated through the maze of tables, searching for an empty spot, when you suddenly collided with someone, causing your tray to wobble precariously. Your mapo tofu and rice threatened to spill over the edges as you quickly tried to steady it.

"I'm so sorry!" you exclaimed, looking up to see who you'd run into. Standing before you was a tall boy with strikingly mismatched features. His hair was split down the middle, one side white as snow and the other a deep crimson red. His eyes mirrored this dichotomy, one a cool, icy blue and the other a warm, fiery gray. There was something about his eyes that reminded you so clearly of Tenko, that same fire you thought, though it was also entirely different. This boys fire perplexed you, sure it held plenty of anger and hatred, but it seemed a lot softer than Tenko’s, more controlled.

"It's fine," he responded calmly, his voice steady and composed. His expression was stoic, almost indifferent, but his eyes held a depth that hinted at a complicated past. "I should have been more careful."

You felt a flush of embarrassment creep up your neck. "No, really, it's my fault. I wasn't paying attention."

The boy studied you for a moment, his gaze intense yet not unkind. "I'm Shoto Todoroki," he introduced himself, his voice devoid of any irritation.

You gave a small, nervous smile, introducing yourself as well. "Nice to meet you, Todoroki."

Todoroki nodded slightly, his eyes flicking to your tray. "You might want to find a seat before your lunch ends up on the floor."

You laughed softly, the tension easing a bit. "Good point. Do you have a seat already?"

He glanced around the cafeteria, then shook his head. "No, I don't. You can join me if you'd like."

Surprised by the offer, you nodded eagerly. "Sure, that would be great."

The two of you found an empty table near a window, the natural light casting a soft glow over your meals. As you settled down, you couldn't help but feel a bit nervous. Todoroki's presence was imposing yet strangely comforting.

"So, you're in Class 1-A too?" you asked, trying to make conversation as you began eating your mapo tofu.

"Yes," he replied simply, taking a bite of his own lunch. "I saw you during the entrance exam. Your quirk is… interesting."

You chuckled lightly, a bit embarrassed by the attention. "Thanks. It's called Dissonance. I can influence actions and thoughts with my singing."

Todoroki raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "That's a powerful ability. Have you been training with it for long?"

You nodded, grateful for the interest. "Yeah, I've had to learn to control it and not overuse it. It can be pretty dangerous if I'm not careful."

He seemed to ponder this for a moment, then nodded. "It's important to know your limits. My quirk has its own challenges too."

You glanced at him curiously, waiting for him to elaborate. When he didn't, you decided to ask. "What about your quirk? It's pretty unique too, right? Though I don’t remeber ever seeing you at the entrance exam."

Todoroki's expression remained neutral, but you could see a flicker of something—perhaps hesitation or discomfort. "I got in through recommendation, I only saw you that day because I happened to step into the analysis room when you were using your quirk. As far as my quirk goes, I have control over both fire and ice," he explained, his tone even. "But I only use my ice side."

You tilted your head, sensing there was more to the story, but you decided not to press. "That's impressive. It must be difficult to balance both elements."

FUMIKAGES FAMILY HEADCANONS (since we know NOTHING.)

HIS MUM

• she is definitely the one with the bird head partly cuz I just want her to be and partly cuz in mha most of the characters look like their mums more (izuku, bakugo kinda, jirou, and probably more but I can’t remember!!)

•her feathers (i know it’s actually hair. don’t take this away from me☹️) are probably brown or slightly black with white dots like female Koel bird’s are, then her eyes and beak are the same as fumi’s

•I don’t imagine her to have a shadow or darkness based quirk, it could be something random or something to do with birds considering how most animal based heteromorphs in mha seem to have animal based quirks?? if it does have something to do with birds then maybe like she can make talons and wings appear on her body?? (hawks you’ve got some competition)

•I have a feeling she’s the type of person to do stuff first and worry about the consequences later, like getting into fights or getting drunk and stuff

•she’s usually the one like speaking to teachers over the phone or going to parent meetings since her husband would most likely do a worse job than her..

•I imagine her to not be the best parent but I don’t think she’d be outright abusive (ENDEAVOR.) but possibly a bit neglectful or brutally honest with her kids? and if her kids went super out of line and done something serious then she’d resort to a hit or two😿

HIS DAD

•he’s the one with human features but maybe not entirely? like maybe small shadow horns or one side of his face is perpetually covered in shadows

•I feel like his hair would be similar to Mr Aizawa’s (like long and black) but possibly could be shadow coloured?? I think it’d look cool☹️

•his eyes could be yellow? if not maybe purple?? cuz like dark shadow has yellow eyes so they could’ve gotten it from them

•if you haven’t guessed already then he’d be the one with the shadow quirk in my eyes, like maybe shadow manipulation? (like todoroki’s ice and fire but with shadows and weaker since y’know shadows themselves aren’t harmful) which he’d mostly just be able to use at night

•I imagine that he can be quiet and introverted but he can also get angry and start/finish fights with anyone. also the same as his wife in the sense that like he does stuff first and cares about the consequences later

•cares less about the kids than his wife does (but in actuality they both don’t care as much as they should)

•he wouldn’t get drunk often, but he’d find comfort in drinking fancy wine and stuff and knowing all about it (maybe he’s even a bartender or something!!)

I imagine them both to have quite deep voices but neither of them have a deep voice as fumikage since maybe his could be like a mix between theirs two?? also!! his mum is the more goth one but both of them dress in similar clothing

HIS SIBLINGS

•I imagine him to have two sisters which idk where that came from but i’m rolling with it!! I also gave them names :))

AMARANTE TOKOYAMI

•amarante (name meaning flower that never fades or unfaded) is definitely the more sociable one in her family. I imagine her to be a wild child and perceived as the complete opposite of her fumikage (though they’re more alike than people think..)

•I think that fumikage got his gothic style from two people: Dark Crystal (a pro hero he admires that’s mentioned in the school briefs) and amarante (since when she was 16 she was the EXACT same as fumi)

•I like to think shes 22 and probably like a month or less older than Hawks so she constantly tells fumi that hawks stole her brand

•her quirk would be the same as her mums where she can make her appearance more bird-like with talons and wings, which is how she got the joke that hawks is stealing her originality with the wings

•I can imagine her being a singer who isn’t as popular as she could be in the future but it getting there! maybe she appears on TV one day and everyone in 1A sees and asks tokoyami about her

•her stage name would be “Songbird” and her fandom name would be “Chicks” or “Baby Bats” as she’s still goth u guys!! that never changed

•she looks almost the exact same as her mum naturally but dyes her feathers a lot and puts glitter on her beak (which aoyama loved the first time he ever saw her) to stand out

•her whole brand would be to help make people like her not feel ashamed in who they are (other heteromorphs, neurodivergent people, LGBTQ+ people) since she’s been insecure and knows what it’s like

•her singing genre changes all the time but it’s been gothic songs, rock, pop, literally everything

•she can play multiple instruments but mainly uses guitar and sometimes piano for slower songs

HANAZUKI TOKOYAMI

•hanazuki (name meaning moon flower or moon) takes after both her parents, being mean like her mum and quiet like her dad

•she’d definitely be a mean older sister at 24 years old, 2 years older than amarante and 8 years older than fumikage which meant that she didn’t interact with fumi as much

•I don’t imagine she’s in contact with any of her family members anymore except for maybe amarante and her grandad (if he’s still alive) but she watches the UA sports festivals and stuff to see how fumi’s doing

•I want her to be quirk less since I think her being a heteromorph and quirk less made her stand out in society for bad reasons :( that’s partly why she cut contact with a lot of people and is as introverted as she is

•her jobs have consisted of: fast food worker, writer but she quit and working in an office type space

•she despises amarante’s energy and bubbly-ness but still loves her younger sister (though she’d never admit it)

•didn’t talk to fumikage growing up since she was already moved out when he was 10 and she was 18 so the age difference didn’t help but she finds dark shadow cool (though they didn’t speak much either)

•despises her parents deeply

•also despises UA for letting 16 year olds fight in a life threatening war (amarante’s very much the same)

•I didn’t mention this but her feathers are naturally like her mums but like amarante she dyes hers (unlike amarante, she dyes hers to be a more darker colour. not fully black but close)

•not as goth as her siblings but she’s getting there

HIS GRANDAD

•fumi’s grandad, like his parents, have been mentioned and is canon but we KNOW NOTHING.

•i’ve said this in a previous post but I imagine him to have died at the hands of dark shadow a LONG time ago and fumikage hates himself for it

•I imagine him to have been on his mum’s side so he also had the same feathers and stuff as fumikage (though his were all worn out and grey but fumi helped in preening them.)

•his grandad, in his eyes, was the coolest person ever. he was THE goth person. that’s where fumi got every bit of knowledge on the world of darkness and the night and stuff from

•he loved spoiling his grandchildren so much (everyone always wondered where he got his money from..)

More about my version of MHA, I'd like your opinion. Izuku is taken out of Aldera, when he becomes All Might's student (I'm really wanting to make him a better teacher and a father figure to Izuku), All Might wants to give a good education to his successor, so he puts Izuku in a prestigious school that trains those who will try the entrance exam for the hero course (I'm changing all the schools and giving them new names). You know the twist, Ochako studies at the school that Izuku goes to, but she still has financial problems, she managed to get into the school, due to a scholarship she received. It'll be interesting to see Ochako end up comparing herself to her rich classmates (Shoto, Tenya and Momo (Yes, she studies at a school in my version)), but she will be Izuku's first friend (It's fun to develop Ochako as Izuku's right-hand woman. Shoto will also be a more different character, the difference is that he shows more personality and more emotion (I'll be honest, I find Shoto's character a little boring and I like the idea of him and Izuku creating a bond due to the abuse they both suffered).

Making all Might a lot more active in izukus life and directly having him change a lot of aspects for it would change the plot exponentially.

While I do enjoy these changes to all mights character you should still focus on introducing challenges that all might would still need to face as you should replace his weaknesses, aka being a bad mentor and teacher with something else.

Now, we can get into the legality of things when it comes to all Might. For example, does he even have a license to teach? Does he struggle teaching a class full of 20 overpowered teenagers?

There's also gonna be social consequences to all Might taking care and being active in his successors life, and @mikeellee had incorporated these aspects into their fic.

For example:

This would produce a lot of rumours like all might favouring one student more

or even conspiracy theories like izuku being all mights secret love child

This would also cause scandals, especially if all Might starts to use his name to directly help izuku

While all might doing things like transferring izuku from different schools this can effect izuku for better or worse.

We need to remember that izuiu is quite similar to ochako compared to everyone else they really aren't rich and izuku seems to come from a lower income background compared to characters like momo and iida so this would definitely effect his day to day life in that school.

This point could be used to help establish a bond between ochako and izuku a lot more quickly and help explore what it's like for someone of izukus and ochakos status to adjust to a momo or iida similar education or lifestyle. This could then breach into the worldbuilding of mha with multiple things like poverty in mha (heck you can even bring in twice here)

Having izuku be surrounded by future ua classmates is a great opportunity and would possibly allow for them to develop a quicker, more meaningful bond, then some of them did in Canon. For example, you can have iida and shoto be rivals from middle school and then really kick-start their relationship in the Sports Festival and hosu Arc. You can explore the parallels between iida and shoto, especially how they look up to /think of their older brothers and family.

It makes sense for shoto at first to be incredibly closed off in a way so keeping that aspect of his character makes sense yet due to him being introduced earlier on in the series you can definitely have that part of his character dissolve quicker then what was going on in Canon.

Body Snatched Masterlist Authors Note -- Shinsou was one that was requested multiple times alongside multiple other characters in more than one request, so I'm going to add the links to the original ask (similar to the masterlist) as I get them written and posted.

Warnings: unwanted touches and actions, attempted assault, violence

+ Shinsou and you are not together but there has been something developing between you two for a long time. After he comes to you all nervous one afternoon, you think he's going to confess his feelings. How wrong you were. Turns out it wasn't even Shinsou, it's was Mineta in his body and he tries to take advantage of the situation.

During one of the training sessions with 1A, Shinsou got switched with the grape. He wasn't even near him and definitely wasn't trying to help him. Just for some reason, they were switched. They both passed out right after, so no one actually knew it happened. Mineta woke up first and played it off as he was the other. It wasn't until Shinsou woke up that they realized what happened.

Y/N' POV

I groaned, dropping my head onto the book in annoyance. My homework was not making any sense to me. I was in need of a break but needed to get this done. Rampant knocking pulled my attention and I got up to answer it.

"Shin? I thought you had training with 1A?" I was confused why said boy was standing outside my door, still in his gear.

"Oh, we got done early."

"Then why are you still in your gear?" I asked.

"Uh... I just wanted to see you as soon as possible." I narrowed my eyes at him. He was acting strange. Nervous.

"Shinsou..."

"Look, there's something I want to talk to you about. That's why I came here so fast. I wanted to say it before I lose the confidence to say it." He said quickly, giving me a smile. "Come walk with me?"

"Oh..." My heart jumped immediately thinking he returned my feelings. I bit my lip and nodded. "Okay, let me grab my jacket."

"Okay." I quickly ran to grab the garment and followed him out of the General Studies dorms. He led me to walk by the edge of the trees.

"Shinsou, What is it you want to tell me?" I asked. He took a breath. Just as he went to say something, there was a commotion up by the dorms that grabbed our attention. It sounded like multiple people yelling & running.

"Really?" Shinsou groaned, annoyed. He grabbed my hand and pulled me into the trees deeper a little more rough than necessary. "So we can talk in quiet."

"Okay…" Something was starting to not feel right. Especially when I swore I heard someone yell my name. Once we were a good ways away, he stopped.

"Here we go. Nice and quiet."

"Actually Shin... I'm feeling weird about this. Maybe we should head back."

"Don't you trust me?" He asked.

"I mean, of course, but..." My mind went all fuzzy. When I came back to my senses, I saw him looking at me shocked. It looked like he was shocked at himself. "Did you just...?"

"L/N! I just ... I'm sorry... I..." He stumbled over his words. I could see something else flash through his eyes that made the bad feeling worse.

"I'm just going to go." I took a step back. His eyes widened.

"Wait."

"See ya later, Shin." I turn around, trying to leave quickly.

"No! Wait!" I heard him yell. Suddenly, I felt something wrap around me, yanking me backwards. I slammed against a tree, knocking the air from my lungs. I gasped, looking down to see his capture weapon around me. I felt it tighten more and realized I was now tied to the tree.

"Shinsou! What the hell?!" I yelled once I got my breath back. He appeared in front of me. He looked me up and down with a hungry gaze. "Shinsou!"

"Oh, sorry. Just admiring the view. You're so hot." I was so confused. Why was he doing this? I struggled against the binds. "I don't know why he hasn't confessed to you yet when he could have you like this." I froze.

"He?"

"Oh yeah. I'm not Shinsou. I'm Mineta. The hunk from 1A. We got switched somehow." Horror washed over me and I tried to get free again. He moved in really close, setting his arms on either side of me.

"Get away from me!" I screamed. He set his hand over my mouth.

"Quiet." He snapped. I felt his lips on my neck and his other hand trailed down my side. He trailed down to my knee and yanked it up and over his hip. I tried to yell against his hand.

"Fukpmh..." I fought against his hand. He sighed in annoyance.

"Will you shut up?" He asked, removing his hard. I snapped my mouth shut, not taking the chance of him using Shinsou's quirk. He narrowed his eyes at me. "Bitch."

"Pervert!" I snapped. He slapped his hand over my mouth and his other hand latched onto the button of my shorts. He opened them and shoved his hand in. I closed my eyes, not waiting to see him do this in Shinsou's body.

"Damn." He huffed. I grimaced at the feeling of his hand. He suddenly stopped moving.

"I suggest you stop right now." My eyes snapped open to see Kaminari & Present Mic standing there. Kami had a hand on Mineta's shoulder, and I could see the electricity coming from him.

"H-hey guys." Mineta slowly removed his hands from me. As soon as his hand was off my mouth, I screamed.

"Get him away from me." I kicked at him. They pulled him off me and pinned him to another tree. I saw Midnight was here as well and she moved to untie me. I collapsed to the ground as soon as I was loose.

"Hey, it's alright." She knelt next to me. "Let's get you out of here." I nodded and she helped me up. We walked out of the trees and she guided me back to the dorms. We got inside and Aizawa was in the common room with Mineta's body.

"Are you alright? What happened?" Aizawa came up to us.

"Mineta had them cornered in the trees." Midright said. Aizawa looked at me.

"Did he do anything?"

"He touched me a lot." I crossed my arms across my stomach. "He used Shinsou's quirk on me. He didn't hurt me." He nodded and I glanced at the real Shinsou and the look of pity, guilt, and sadness broke me. The embarrassment of him seeing me in this situation was to much. "I'm going to my room."

"L/N." I didn't listen to Aizawa and darted up the stairs. I ran to my room, slamming and locking the door.

I immediately went to my bathroom to take a shower. I turned on the hot water, stripped, and hopped in. I scrubbed my skin until it was bright red. I wanted to erase any evidence of Mineta on my skin. Once I was done, I dressed in comfy clothes and buried myself in my bed.

A little while later, there was a knock on my door. I sat up and looked at the door for a moment. After another knock, I got up slowly and took a few steps when they spoke up. I froze in place when I heard his voice.

"L/N..." Shinsou's voice came through the door. I took a step back.

"G-go away." My voice cracked. I heard him sigh sadly.

"I understand that you don't want to see me. I just wanted to make sure you're okay. I'll leave you alone." There was something in his voice that struck me. I heard him step away and I went to the door. With a big breath, I opened the door to see him almost to the elevator.

"Shinsou!" He stopped and looked at me. I stayed half hid in the doorway. I looked in his eyes to read him. I could only see remorse and pain, nothing like what I saw with Mineta. I bit my lip and waved him back. I walked into my room, sitting on my bed.

"You sur...um..." He avoided finishing the question. "Tell me if it's okay to come in."

"Yes, it is." He nodded. He moved in slowly and sat next to me. We sat stock still for a minute. I pulled my sleeves down over my hands before reaching out for his sleeve. I tugged on his sleeve and he looked at me. He gave me a small smile.

"Can I..." I started. He seemed to understand because he opened his arms. I latched onto him and he pulled me into his chest. Tears forced their way out and I began to sob into his chest. He maneuvered us so he was hustled into the pillows and me in his chest.

"Go ahead and cry it out. It's okay to cry." He whispered into my ear. He pulled the blankets up and over us. I don't know how long I cried but I cried myself to the point of exhaustion. I snuggled into him more and I felt him petting my head.

"Mm'tired." I mumbled into his chest.

"What? You're tired?" He asked. I nodded. "Then Let's sleep, love."

"Love?" I looked up at him. He nodded. I smiled. "Love too."

"You're cute." He moved us onto our sides and nestled us down into the blankets. He kissed my head. "Hey..."

"Hmm?"

"When this is all settled with that little shit, can I take you out on a date?" He asked. I pushed up onto and elbow to look at him. He looked apprehensive. I reached up to push some hair back.

"Yeah, I'd like that."

"Great." He smiled before tugging gently on me to lay back down. I got comfortable again and he laid his arms around me.

"Goodnight, love." He whispered into my hair.

"Night." I kissed his neck before I drifted off.

It's come to my attention that some people may like a clarification on this one line from chapter 403.

tagline 想いは今一つにーー‼︎ おもいはいまひとつにーー‼︎ omoi wa ima hitotsu ni--!! Their feelings* now [become] one--!! (*Note: This word has MANY meanings: "heart, mind, thoughts, feelings, desires, wishes, hopes, etc.")

I provided the "many meanings" for the word omoi because it's a very...big word. It's one of those words that refers to a generic emotional or spiritual concept that doesn't have the easiest translation into English. Its vagueness is similar to how "kokoro" and "ki" work. A Japanese person wouldn't hear the word and just automatically translate it into one of those meanings, you see. All the extra meanings I included were to make clear the general vibe of the word.

It is not the same word as kokoro. It does not mean "heart" in that definitive sense. It also doesn't refer to the heart organ (that would be shinzou).

In my experience, omoi most often means something along the lines of feelings/thoughts/will. (Japan often has words that conflate emotions with thoughts.)

The sentiment expressed in the line is a common enough one I've seen in other anime and Japanese media. My reading of this particular line would be something with a meaning like: "Their wills become one, they want the same thing, they share the same goal, they are in sync."

(Dare I say...One For All and All For One, as the lines were originally meant before MHA utilized them?)

So yeah, we're getting to that part of the manga where the Heroes Rising vibes are returning.

Additionally, I see some people upset about the line's exclusion in the official English release. Just to be clear, these opening and ending taglines in the Japanese version? They're for the Weekly Shounen Jump serialization. I don't think I've ever seen any of these taglines in any of the official English releases. In fact, I wanna say they're not even included in the Japanese tankoban releases whenever those come out later.

They're kinda like tonal tags for the weekly readers. It gives you an idea of how to read the vibe of the scene in case it's ambiguous. I imagine they would wanna do that for short weekly releases because of the weird pacing short weekly chapters can often cause.

Random ask, do you love Satosugu because somehow their dynamic remind you of BakuDeku?

Okay so this has been sitting in my inbox for a few days because, at first when I read it, I was like "I don't really see the resemblance".

But here's the thing, I've been thinking about some of the interesting points I think MHA and JJK have in common lately.. was I sure these two ships really didn't remind me of one another, too?

SHORT ANSWER

I do not love SatoSugu for the same reasons I love BakuDeku.

LONG ANSWER

I REALLY HAD TO THINK ABOUT THIS because the recipes are very similar if you really think about it. Deeply entrenched histories with one another, the relation they have to one another being an impetus to be stronger/better, worldview that seems to be heavily hinged on one another (debatably)... but the fact remains: you can have all the same ingredients and prepare a totally different dish.

What I appreciate about BakuDeku is that they are at odds but not in the ways that one would assume at face value. Like, people oversimplify Midoriya as being this incredibly sensitive, goodie-two shoes and Bakugo to be an antagonistic bully. But Midoriya breaks hella rules where Bakugo's aggression hides the fact that he is, in fact, an emotional rule follower! What a nerd. In a lot of ways, they embody facets of one another even when it isn't readily apparent. Both strong and both protective of one another which manifests in different ways. But ultimately, in spite of their differences, they are both earnestly aligned in their desire to embody what they respect and value about All Might and being the number one hero. There's a stronger sense of justice at play in universe that makes the story a bit more cut and dry. No amount of time has really shaken their understanding of one another. They are still locked in and the best insight into one another outside of themselves (if that makes sense).

SatoSugu exists in a morally gray area which enables them to have more character nuance than simply being aligned with "good" or "bad". While they are also at odds in different ways, I'm more inclined to appreciate the circumstances that brought them together. It's a bit skewed from Gojo's perspective but, ultimately, they are unified in how isolating their strength and responsibilities are. There's no ensemble staff to lessen the sting of that and, subsequently, there's this elevated miracle of finding understanding in one another's company. This is more inferred from Gojo's perspective, but you also never get the satisfaction of Geto's point of view. I think what I like most about their story is how incomplete it is. There's no reconciliation, no clearing the air of all the things they never voiced to one another.. and isn't that just how it goes? Especially unrequited. It's sad and unsatisfying because their relation to one another is ultimately their undoing. What made them well suited to one another is also what drives the wedge between them and Geto was doomed from the beginning. The story has seemingly run its course with both of them and there's still so many loose ends.

Even in writing all of this, there are a lot of undeniable similarities between them. Truthfully, we don't know how either stories will end so there may be more compelling likenesses revealed with time. The line I'm drawing in the sand is not so much what makes them similar but what I find the most compelling about them so maybe that doesn't interpret your question correctly but that nuance obscured all of the similarities for days for me haha so I appreciate you asking because it definitely made me think!

A little rant over the why I consider that Todoroki Shouto is autistic

Disclaimer: As always, this is just one of my many theories. Please don’t attack me for this, if you don’t like it, scroll and continue with your life.

This is the third mha character that I have analysed, and I also think he is the least likely to be autistic (strangely enough because he is also the one more often read as autistic). This is because a lot of his actions can also be read as trauma responses rather than autistic traits, however, this is your friendly reminder that autistic people can (and are actually statistically more likely) to have PTSD. For Shouto, I think it is both autism and C-PTSD.

Insistence on sameness, and difficulty dealing with change

Even though this is not explicitly said anywhere (as far as I know), it’s something that you can definitely notice if you look very closely.

Todoroki remodelled his entire dorm in a day for it to be the same as it was in his home for comfort. He even went to the extent of changing the floors. That shows that he has difficulty dealing with transitions (moving from home, to the dorms).

He is also a very stubborn person, shown in his insistence to only use his ice side for so long. And even though we know this is connected to his trauma towards fire, even after he starts overcoming that, he still heavily relies on his ice, and has a tendency (almost a routine) to always using it first.

Strong sense of justice

Todoroki has an incredible sense of justice, and not in the ´follow every rule’ way like Iida. Todoroki has never hesitated to break the rules to stand up for what he thinks is right. He literally considered torture in USJ arc, if it meant gaining information that could potentially safe lives. In the Kamino Ward arc, he decided to break the rules and go and save Bakugou because he knew that’s what was right (even if it was illegal). He followed Bakugou and Izuku even though it was dangerous and he technically shouldn’t have, but he still went and fought alongside them. In the ‘World Heroes’ Mission’ movie he didn’t hesitate to help Izuku and tell him how to escape even though he was literally accused of mass murder. I think there are many examples of this in general.

It also shows that he is a very loyal person, which isn’t an autistic trait (I think), just a very cool thing about him.

Recognizes patterns easier than his peers

I have two specific examples for this.

Calling himself a hand crusher. He definitely recognized a pattern there. He fought with Midoriya -> He injured his hand. He fought with Iida -> Iida injured his hand. Therefore Hand injuries are caused by him (under this logic).

He was quick to figure out why the villains were at the USJ, and that they definitely had a solid plan. (In a similar way, Tsuyu did the same, who I also headcanon as autistic, but that’s off topic).

Speaking differences/struggles

Todoroki has what can be described as a ‘flat tone’. There are only some very specific scenes where he raises his voice, but in general, his voice tone never really changes. Even when delivering jokes, or sarcastic comments, his tone is always the same.

Struggles with social cues and reading other people tones

I believe this is one of his most recognized traits. He has a lot of difficulty understanding sarcasm and exaggeration when it comes from others, even being told by others that he is ‘too clueless’ (Mount Lady, and Min*ta). He takes things very literally, a good example of this being when Mt Lady told him that girls would die for his smile, and he took it very seriously, to the point where not even under Mr. Smileys quirk he didn't actually smile.

He also struggles ‘reading the room’ and social cues, having in mind the way that he is convinced that he is friends with Bakugou. (He is. Bakugou is just in denial/hj. They definitely care for each other, and they ARE friends. But Todoroki considered him a friend way before Bakugou even considered it).

Says things directly

Todoroki says things with 0 to no hesitation. He is not afraid at all to call people out. He says things like they are, he doesn't sugar code anything. There are many examples of this, like him fighting with the chief of the police, every possible interaction he has had with Endeavor, him saying that he didn’t even notice Hagakure was with him in the USJ, him telling Midoriya that he is objectively better than him and others. Trauma dumping on Midoriya during the sports festival. This might come out as rude sometimes, but he definitely (mostly) doesn't do it with bad intentions.

‘Flat’ facial expressions

Same as his voice, his facial expressions don’t really change, and it could be argued that they don't match his emotions. For example when he froze Sero during their fight in the sports festival, and even though he didn’t really looked angry, he apologises and tells him that he was angry.

Comfort food and being a ‘picky’ eater (term that I don’t personally like, but I’m using to make a point)

Shouto really likes Soba. Especially cold soba. He is seen eating it in the anime, and it is stated in the character profile of the manga’s second volume. He even offers it to Midoriya when he is sad (that was really cute by the way, I do that too. You’re sad? Let me get some chocolate for you!)

It being cold can be because of two things.

Sensory issues about food temperature.

Him not liking boiling water because of what happened with his mother.

Either way, it is canon that he loves cold soba.

Genetic factor

I am not here to do an Endeavor analysis, but ASD is considered to have a genetic factor and Endeavor has some autistic traits as well, including fixated interests, saying things directly, difficulty with volume control, and others.

This is also your friendly reminder that autistic people are NOT saints and can commit crimes, mistakes, abuse etc.

Moving on because I don’t enjoy talking about Endeavor /hj

Low empathy and difficulty reading other people emotions

Just like Bakugou, he struggles identifying and expressing his own emotions, and has difficulty relating to other people's feelings. I think a perfect example of that is his interaction with Iida during the Hero Killer arc. He also stuggled with this a lot after Dabi revealed he was his brother, and he definetly had problems grieving him.

He also doesn't really know how to show empathy, I think that’s why he offered soba to Deku. He didn’t know what else he could do to help and show that he cared. And he is usually looking for solutions rather than offering support.

Stimming

Admittedly, I couldn’t find many examples of stimming in him. But I noticed that he has a tendency to rub his finger when he is thinking.

Special interest

Becoming a hero, and in a way, All Might. I don’t have much proof of this rather than a vibe, but he doesn’t have any other interests or hobbies apart from this (apart from reading manga), which leads me to believe it’s his special interest.

Other details that I want to mention (aka, the headcanon zone)

He is often seen wearing sweaters, which I believe can be a consequence of sensory issues, and he has a very high pain tolerance. He is very observant as well.

I don’t have proof of this, but I headcanon that he is like me, and doesn’t notice that there is something wrong with him unless it’s extreme. I rarely notice that I need to go to the bathroom until I’m about to pee myself. I live constantly dehydrated because I forget to drink water and I don't really get thirsty. And I don’t notice I’m in pain unless it’s pretty extreme.

i scripted that my face looks pretty and whatnot (in a very like unique way coz ugh she’s so different and quirky and unique🙄) but i still look and feel familiar to myself.

Also idk if you guys have heard that theory but like apparently after spending enough time with someone you start to look like them? Ik that theory generally means like clothes and aesthetic rather than actual facial features but i did script that even tho me and my siblings are adopted we somehow look similar to each other and our parents.

But the biggest change is probably my hair. in a reality where i can have any hair colour and you think i’m not going pink?

anyways i scripted that i have like pink streaks of hair in my otherwise black hair!! gonna match so well with my hero outfit!

Speaking of Yuna, have you thought of voice actors you think would suit her yet? Because I remember you having some difficulty deciding Riku's but eventually deciding on some. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts processes on that.

I'll use Yuna as an example for how I decide voices for my characters. When picking a VA for a character I tend to have a specific voice for that character in my head. Some voices are definitely clearer than others but in general I have some idea of how they sound.

That is usually based off of their personality and how I think they'd speak/what phrases they'd use (which like. sounds obvious). This is part of the reason why Yuna doesn't really have a VA (or a selection of VAs) at the moment - Yuna as a character has never really had a set personality in my head, I've had several iterations of her if that makes sense!

I've been thinking more about her and her role in the plot, I think I have a bit of a clearer view now. Yuna is quiet but she's quite confident in herself and isn't afraid to ask questions - she's passionate about journalism (key for her character)! I imagine she has a very sure voice, a bit calm, very articulate. She would still sound young - she's about 14 in the story. Like Riku she is very kind too! So I think that would come across in her voice too.

And now that I have that in my head I'll generally just spend a bit of time looking into VAs that I think might fit! The easiest way for me is actually to go on Behind the Voice Actor and look at games I've played LOL and just kinda browse there for a bit. Other times it might just be I see a clip of a show and go "huh that could work for [character}" and I'll go and watch clips from the show to see if it would fit. And other times it might just be a recommendation from someone! That's actually how I picked Riku's japanese VA (shoutout to the lovely anon who suggested Nobuhiko Okamoto for him). I'm kinda open to all inspiration really (so if anyone had a suggestion for Yuna I'd be more than happy to hear!).

And that's kind of my process really! Pretty simple but its basically a bit of research based on what I have in my head already. In general I just have headcanons for their English VAs (for all my characters) because that is the ones I would be most familiar with but in Riku's and Yuna's case where they are Persona OCs I want to make an effort to have Japanese VAs for them too.

And seeing as you mentioned him I thought I'd just list the current list of potential VAs for Riku because it's changed quite a bit:

Zeno Robinson - I absolutely adore Zeno and I think he would make a great Riku. I picture him using a voice similar to his voice for Hawks from MHA. I picked him before he got announced as Junpei's new VA lol.

Cedric L Williams - I only found out about him fairly recently - he voices Kabru in Dungeon Meshi. Something about his tone just fits Riku imo!

Jordan Fisher - I don't think he has done much video game work outside of one (Until Dawn? Maybe?) but I think he has a lighter tone than the other two (more playful? It's hard to describe lol). And the massive bonus with Jordan is that he can sing - and Riku is canonically supposed to be a good singer.

Those are the choices for his English VAs, his Japanese VA is still Nobuhiko Okamoto (I know he's in P5X but whatever lol he fits way too well). I may end up polling it one day but honestly if anyone had any opinions/thoughts I'd love to hear it!

ofc!!!

so where to start?????

so I’m assuming you r talking about my MHA OC, so I’m gonna start with her quirk.

Her quirk is called hammerspace. The Hammerspace for those who don’t know is a space between space if that makes sense, it’s where you can store objects without a limit to how much, and the user (my OC) can locate them instantly. And she discovers new uses for her quirk all the time. She one day figured out that she can open multiple “windows” to the hammer space at one time. She ended up being able to use them for teleportation, and she is still figuring out different ways to use her quirk for the good as it is a very versatile quirk.

Her name is Erin, and I still don’t have a last name for her, she moved to Japan from America when she was eight, because of her parent’s work.

Some lore: she had a best friend who she met when she moved from America to Japan. I don’t have name for this best friend, but the the two wanted to be hero’s together. Her best friend’s quirk was alchemy, it was very similar to momo's quirk and he could basically create elements and elemental compounds with his quirk. The two friends went to the UA entrance exams and both passed. But a few weeks later during the time before the first day of UA. The friend was killed in a hit and run. If he was alive he would have replaced the dude who gets stronger from eating sugar since I personally think that his quirk was kinda useless compared to others, nor does he really feel involved too much. Erin replaces invisiblility girl in this au since I think her character and quirk were not very good either. So because of her best friend’s sudden death, Erin is closed off at the start of the series due to grief. She remains somewhat reserved throughout quite a bit of it but warms up to others starting at the is camp.

Some ways she would slightly change the series: She would get a pretty high place in the sports festival due to the hammerspace portals and being able to finished the obstacle course pretty easily, but she would not be able to span it in one portal since it a more recently learned ability, she would also be able to capture her opponents in the hammer space, easily dumping them out of bounds. Her and bakugo would compete in the finals, and bakugo would win, by using the explosions to keep himself from being trapped, but in the end he would definitely feel like Erin was a threat to him, causing a rivalry. The two will have an enemies to frenimies to lovers arc. The two don’t make it official for awhile, and most people are surprised since they never would have guessed there was anything romantic between them.

The sarcastic couple of UA has arrived! No one dares challenge you or Shinsou when you’re together simply because they know that however sarcastic as you each are alone, it only gets worse when you’re together.

He’s pretty quiet and awkward as well but since you feel comfortable around each other, that’s not as much of an issue as you’d think.

I feel like Shinsou has a bit of a competitive streak as well. For you, it’s because you don’t like people being better at things than you are. For him, it’s to prove that he’s more than his quirk.

As long as you can support each other and help the other recognise when you desire to be the best is becoming detrimental, you’ll both be fine.

Will is your exact mirror image: Sarcastic and funny on the outside, quiet and complex on the inside. It’s one of the reasons you two get along so well.

Enjoys studying with you. He’s got to keep up to date on his medical knowledge, so he does a lot of study sessions. It’s nice being about to sit with someone while doing that.

Loves listening to you play guitar. His inherited talents may lie more with medicine than music, but he can still appreciate some good playing when he hears it.

Where MHA fails : stakes and tension

I know a lot of people have made similar posts about this topic but I wanted to give my two cents on this so here it is.

MHA's early arcs definitely had a lot of tension and stakes like just look at the usj arc or the shopping incident heck even the overhaul arc had some good tension and stakes when it came to the idea of izuku would actually survive his fight against overhaul with eri full on having a whole Quirk breakdown on his back. However, after the overhaul arc that tension and stakes all faded away into nothingness which is now the final war arc. In my opinion, there are a few reasons as to why this happend but the most prominent reason is:

Hori refuses to kill characters for the plot

Yeah, that's pretty much it. The lack of character deaths really doesn't help the tensions in the show and the characters that ACTUALLY DO DIE OR GET INJURED don't really affect the audience in any major way.

Midnight- horikoshi had to kill someone close to the hero kids so tensions could rise and students could actually truly realise how dangerous it is and really up the stakes that the villains are back and stronger then ever. However, we don't see midnight really bond or interact with the students so the whole having momo ,mina and Kiri crying over her doesn't hit big.

Twice - I get it the guy had to die and yeah if we are talking about it his death or him living created a bunch of tension and stakes for the hero's because his quirk is really deadly to be honest. However, I don't think his death was done well to be honest like it was probably one of the best deaths hori gave us but I can't help but think there could of been more when it came to him

Nighteye- honestly this is the same as twice like I know his death was there to serve a turning point in the story and show the darker side of heroics which worked but he was honestly an asshole so I was happy he was gone. I only felt bad cos of mirio crying so maybe try and make him a nicer person and then kill him off?

Magne- never really bothered with her death. Like sure it definitely amplified the tension between chisaki and the LOV but we could of probably seen more from her then he could of killed her off but the same with twice and nighteye her death did raise the stakes and tensions by a lot.

Shirakumo - his death was just there to make us sympathetic towards aizawa and him being revealed as kurogiri just ruined his character because even though it had potential you can definitely tell hori didn't think it through or expand with that plot point

Then there is the other deaths I don't remember or just don't care about like crust, whatever number of other pros who died during the war, native, the villains

And there are the villains who hori just done dirty in killing them like SPINNER ,TOGA AND DABI

Something like this can be easily fixed in MHA which is literally killing more characters that SHOULD of died in MHA like:

Gran Torino - how is that guy still alive?

Aizawa shota ( Iam 50/50 on this)

Bakugo Katsuki - the guy had a full complete character arc his character went full circle so he was just there also his revival made no sense you could of revived him differently

Someone from 1A or 1B (raise the tension)

Enji todoroki - his death would of made more sense then him living for multiple reasons

Miriko - idk how she is alive

Lady nagant - same as miriko

GIVE VILLAINS LIKE TOGA, DABI AND SPINNER PROPER DEATHS.

Horikoshi's 2nd biggest problems when it comes to stakes and tensions is THE LACK OF CONSEQUENCES!!!!!

The hero's and villains should of had more consequences overall to raise the stakes in the show. Hawks and tokoyami losing their QUIRKS IS A GOOD Consequence BUT THEM GETTING IT BACK DIFFUSES THE TENSION. This is the same for what happend to mirio. Unpopular opinion, but AFO should of had his own consequences with taking a living powerful sentient soul taking or absorbing quirk like dark shadow.

There are so many consequences that hori could of gave as a result to WHAT ALREADY HAPPEND BUT HE CHOOSES TO IGNORE IT AND GIVE CONSEQUENCES THAT CONTRADICT HIS WHOLE PLOT.

What I mean by that is the whole izuku somehow losing danger sense. That stuff makes ZERO SENSE how and why would that happen? Isn't danger sense and the other QUIRKS all merged within OFA because that's exactly why AFO couldn't take OFA from a OFA user because yochi's quirk is merged withing OFA and so are the other QUIRKS so how is it that danger sense is stolen by shigaraki?!?! Does this mean that izuku is someone that somehow has the capacity to carry 8 DIFFERENT POWERFUL AND DANGEROUS QUIRKS. That makes no sense because if it isn't that he is somehow related to AFO then how isn't he a nomu with the amount of quirks he has.

In conclusion, the problem of stakes and tension is literally caused by two major factors:

Horikoshi's inability to kill off some characters

Horikoshi's lack of consequences and if consequences are given they tend to CONTRADICT the plot
