the thing that’s so maddening about this game is that there are good bones here under the mess. all of the characters have so much potential and in some cases it is very obvious that they were watered down during the development process… none of them are allowed to be fully realized in-game. and then there’s the racism,

Fëanorian Week 2023, Day 5: Curufin (or Celebrimbor, rather)

I have a similar problem with Curufin as I do with Caranthir: he’s just kind of there a lot of the time and kind of the only description of him is that he’s a mini version of Fëanor (and I was already going to be drawing Fëanor).  The one very notable thing he did was be father to Celebrimbor, who did plenty of notable things, including having a striking and vivid death (as opposed to Curufin who just got killed without detail or ceremony during the same battle as the other two C’s).  Therefore Celebrimbor gets to steal his dad’s day of Fëanorian Week.  Sorry, Curufin stans.

Okay okay BUT it would have been fascinating if Solas slowly grew his hair back as time went on in Inquisition.

This is probably just a cultural thing that I know, but my culture believes in shaving their head as a grief response. You have lost your loved ones? Lose your hair. And then your hair slowly grows back as the grief passes. Some Natives still observe it. And the Elvhen culture was heavily inspired by Native culture.

The Solas romance implies HEAVILY that Solas was almost convinced to not go through with his plans.

Like... It would have been so wild if your romance with him meant he let his hair grow in. It wouldn't have been exceptionally long, but he would have enough shag you'd have an inkling of what he might have looked like back in his Elvhenan days.

But then Trespasser happens and THE FUCKER SHAVED IT ALL OFF AGAIN. HE WONT LET GO OF HIS GRIEF. HE HAS SHAVED OFF HIS HAIR AND TURNED AWAY FROM YOUR RELATIONSHIP AND IT'S ONE BIG SYMBOL.

Idk it would have slapped. And idk, there also could have been some interesting brief lines of explanation from Solas about head shaving and "the traditions of his little village to the north."

beginning to suspect some of you don’t understand the difference between a character feeling a certain way and how you the player are meant to think about information. there is a massive difference between a character in a moment of heightened emotion saying “this is my/your fault” and the writers Telling You that is the Truth. there are criticisms to be had of tone and handling but in no world is this game saying what some of you claim it is.

I can't stop drawing fantasy ocs (just their faces tho, I don't have the motivation nor the skill to draw their whole bodies), and I accidentally made a party of old men adventurers and one non binary bitch (lovingly) elf.

The young elf probably forced their uncle and his old party members to go on an adventure with them, since no one else can stand this rude teenage elf.

Another member of the party, one of the old boys, is a deranged halfling monk, so uh yeah.
