preface, I'm not arguing about the current ongoing war situation. I only mentioned war so that people who filter out the word have their filters catch it. I'm also only commenting on XJZs behavior on the basis of using that kinda language. One bigger incident I've seen of XJZhao getting a massive wave of criticism was using "blood libel" against a Jewish follower, when they said they wouldn't buy their next book. XJZhao: "I don't want your blood money." Once again, think what you may of the current situation, or if you're on either the person's or XJZhaos side.

All that said, using a stereotype or a racist slur against someone because you feel they (as an individual) are an appropriate target is not ok. You don't get to replicate racist, discriminating, hateful and damaging words, phrases or stereotypes which attack an entire group, just because you're mad at one specific person, and then pretend it doesn't affect an entire group of people. No not even if you're POC, you don't need to be a armband wearing moron or a white hood cross burning swine to be sit at that particular kinda table.

If you're angry at a black person and use the N-word. If you're angry at a single queer person and use the F-word. You catch my drift, that's unacceptable, and would immediately get you labelled, and rightfully so, a racist, or queerphobe. Before anyone pulls that maybe they didn't know card, if someone unknowingly says something racist or queerphobic, do we just give them as pass, or do we call these people out? And obviously their ongoing beef with random people who criticize their online presence. XJZhao's main tool has been making tiktoks, and insta posts where they take screenshots and post the full online name and clearly invite their followers to harass them, or even tell them to blacklist and find people related to the target. Even sending their followers after someone who basically repeated exactly what XJZhao said themselves, that they missed deadlines and started fighting with their publisher. Just that they also pointed out how much leeway XJZhao was given compared to what's normal, and was still complaining. 🐧

Some of their tiktoks against the criticisms have also been just been very petulant. This one I relate to a bit lol 🤔 Such as the tiktok/yt short where they tell everyone who criticised or commented on the very blatant Darling in the Franxx story beats that "Akshually, the makers of DitF said I was all good." Yeah, that's fine, most people don't care about that though, they're commenting on how obvious the story elements were copied. It isn't always bad, many reviewers were neutral, some critical on how blatant it was. It doesn't matter if you got the green-light, it's still going to be something that might irk people because anyone who copies another story's story beats in such an identifiable way is gonna be called out at some point. That literally happened to every Hunger games, Twilight and HP clone. 🤷‍♀️

My dim memory is that XJZ literally said the initial plotbunny was a response to Darling in the Franxx in a youtube video long before the book came out. I think they should calm down and take some time away from toxic social media for their own good. (And yes, I do think they're acting antisemitic and getting a pass because online lefties often give people a pass for that when they wouldn't for other bigotry.) But I don't think it was any kind of secret that it's a blatant response to that series.

I haven't read the actual book. Does it come across as just a repeat? My impression was that it was supposed to be more of a critique/reaction.

it’s been a while they’ve finally stopped senseless hookups labeled as with no feelings and actually talked it out.

It has been difficult at first yes, but everything is with them.

Especially now with Marc being Pecco’s teammate and him still being scarred after what Vale did.

“I am not leaving this time, unless it’s you asking me to leave I am not going to do it”

It had reassured Marc, and it was beautiful.

Being able to trust again, trust someone you loved so much and still hurt you.

On Vale’s part too, knowing Marc trusts him and doesn’t want him to leave.

Waking up together, feeling the love in their every action, going to sleep in the same bed and getting used to having the other in the same bed in the morning too.

No one knew about them, not even the academy or Alex, they were good at hiding it.

On track for marc it was still uneasy, booing still the same, the tension in the air always thick.

But never like this year had he ever felt so much resentment. Misano felt bad from the start, sending the Ducati into the gravel, a red flash on the side of the track.

But he got up and started again, like always.

Feeling hawk-like eyes on him ready to analyze his every mistake.

By the time the GP ended and he won it was a mixture of emotions.

Happiness for gaining the lead in the championship, proudness towards his team, and that same feeling of unease he had since the start of the weekend.

Italy wasn’t his territory, he knew that, but he thought being with Ducati could’ve made this better.

Turns out it didn’t.

Vale knows Marc went partying with the crew and a few friends, rightfully so, and knew that once he came home the two would’ve shared one of those nights neither could forget.

But when he hears their knock at his door and opens it already thinking about Marc he is in shock.

A bruise on the man’s zygome is pretty the only thing he can focus on right now, some blood still on his cheek, dry.

“What the fuck”

Marc pushed in, trying to hide the bruise Vale has obviously already seen.

“Marc come here”

“Let me go to sleep Vale I just- I just need to sleep”

But Vale is not one to let the person he so dearly loves go to fucking sleep when he’s good blood on him.

He makes a run towards the feet of the stair leading to their room, planting himself in the middle of it.

“No. You are not going to sleep like that. Come here, I need to look at that and do something”

It feels unreal. That’s a punch mark he’s got on his face, how could no one in the Ducati crew fucking see it?

Marc wants to protest, but can’t, just follows Vale to the kitchen, sitting on one of the table chairs and waiting.

The man comes back from the bathroom with a safety kit he keeps there, and starts cleaning the wound and applying creams to make it go away.

Marc can feel the anger radiating from Vale’s body and his stupid brain thinks it’s directed towards him.

“Are you angry with me?”

“Angry with- now why would I be angry with you? You’ve got a fucking bleeding cheek and you think I’m angry at you?”

Marc has tears he’s holding back, he doesn’t want to let them out.

“I am worried for you Marc, not angry, never angry”

It is true, a marc knows the tone in Vale’s voice when he’s being honest, that is it.

“Now. Tell me” Vale sits down, practically bloodshot eyes and fingers tapping against the wooden table.

“Who did this to you?”

and Marc wants to sink in the chair and stay silent.

He doesn’t want to look weak.

“Marc.

What asshole did this to you?”

and this time Marc answers, telling him about a guy with a 46 cal who’s been in the VR46 box, garage, the whole time, and which Vale has heard comment about Marc in a not so pleasant way.

“Ok” there’s a pause in which they’re both so silent Marc can only feel

his heartbeat and Valle’s rushed and rapid one.

“I’ll have him blacklisted from every paddock on earth and go talk to him very quickly”

“No Vale I - no”

“Marc he punched you. He punched you because you are you and because I said those horrible things about you. And he believed me.

I am not letting this go unnoticed”

“I love you want to avenge me or whatever you’re thinking but right now I just need you to stay here. With me. Please I need you to stay with me”

and Vale crumbles. Marc is hurt, not just physically, hearing those words again must have gotten a hit on him.

“I’ll stay here then. Make sure you don’t hurt and make you fall asleep. But i’ll have him kicked out anyway. He’s dangerous”

Marc nods, while Vale walks him to the couch,pulling him into a hug so tight it could be suffocating.

And Marc just curls up in his embrace, head against Vale’s chest, feeling the man’s heartbeat slow down as he strokes his hair.

Old man yells at cloud moment, but I am exhausted by those "Being a writer/liking a character is wanting to see them in a fit of of graphic despair-" because you know to a degree I GET it and I've BEEN there, but I am actually Just tired of angst. It feels like the two genres of fanfiction overwhelmingly are either smut or angst. If fandom isn't sexual, it's catty, if it's not catty, it's sexual, and if you're really unlucky it's both in the good old circa 2010 BL Doujinshi circle "No means yes actually."

Me and my favorite characters are already going through enough as is, only for their front row of cheerleaders to be cheering for their imminent demise, actually.

Like. Being fr. It's fiction. These are fake little guys. Them sobbing in a pool of their own blood literally doesn't hurt anyone. But it does hurt ME, because my little guy is sad and now I am sad. Is there no one? No one who wishes to make life better for these fictional creatures? No writer who takes joy in making their characters happy? No one who wants mine silly little guy to smile as I do??? (I have obviously divolved into drama)

In short: I wish we were able to block specific genres of post without needing keywords like come on, it's literally gotten to the point where I've just started blocking anyone who says 'being a writer is wanting to see your favorite character suffer' because no actually I want to see them get a good night's rest for once. I want to see them happy. I want to see them experiencing warmth and bliss they weren't even sure existed. I want them covered in the blood of their enemies and reviling in their now broken chains. I want them free. Thriving. Committing acts of violence that make them feel like life is worth living.

I already go for the traumatized characters right off the bat, I DON'T want to see them WORSE, I want them to experience comfort for the first time like a top heavy newborn kitten being pet for the first time. Screaming and hissing but warm and safe.

Being real for a moment, I obviously can't stop people from posting or reblogging this genre of posts, NOR WOULD I WANT TO. I'm glad they're having fun, BUT I wish I could blacklist this genre of post.

Cecil Hargrove. Not a particularly remarkable person in the least. Prone to nosebleeds and seizures, just barely holding on to life. Cecil was strong, somehow. His parents always knew that. Strong how? Nobody really knew. Not even his family.

The house they lived at was unremarkable as well. Ranch house, 3 bed, 2 bath. Cecil had a brother, Samson, who didn’t seem to care about anyone except himself. Their aunt, Dannie Sue (her real name was Danielle), had just given the family reservations to the resort she worked at as a caretaker.

“More like janitor,” Samson snorted when Dannie first gave them the envelopes with their reservations. The key card was in mom’s envelope, obviously. A 17-year-old boy and his 12-year-old brother can’t take care of a card by themselves. Dannie was indeed a pushover, so she got great rooms for her sister. A suite, actually. Poor old Dannie, with her downturned eyes and dark hair that never bothered to grow past her shoulders. Brave Cecil, who clung to life and wouldn’t let go. Stupid Zinnia Hargrove, who accepted Dannie Sue’s request.

The road is unforgiving in Colorado. Any resident will tell you as much. The road in Colorado in winter? A different, worse story. Zinnia maneuvered the van through the icy roads, being extra careful with Cecil’s wheelchair in the back. Cecil was ambulatory some days, but most days his disorder would make it hard to walk or move on any given day. Chronic pain, hot flashes, nosebleeds. The doctors couldn’t really identify it. They said it was epilepsy. Old people in the park seemed to talk to him, ask him what his favorite dinosaur is, without moving their mouths. Cecil loved dinosaurs. He always did.

Magnus Chapman got ready for his shift as he always did. That goofy little white jumpsuit he always wore, stained by grease and his blood. He really put everything he had into this job. A simple, tedious job: keep the commercial-grade convection heater (better known as a “boiler”) from exploding. Apparently some vandal back in 2019 made headlines by doing the opposite. It had made strange sounds to Magnus a few times, but he always kept the boiler in check.

Until now.

Check, adjust, calibrate, repeat. He did it all day every day. Magnus forgot to calibrate today. He forgot to adjust. Then, he forgot to check. Once the blonde returned from his lunch break, the boiler did exactly what he’d been preventing it from doing. The force of the blast knocked him unconscious. Right?

He woke up in the staff room with an ice pack on his head. One of the workers, a guy his age by name of TJ, was standing over him.

“You, uh.. you fell real hard. Feel ok?”

“Yeah, I’m… i’m fine,” Magnus returned the gesture, setting a hand over one of TJ’s. They’d built a rapport since then, awkward exchanges and drunken chats at staff parties. TJ was a janitor, but had a habit of not really doing his job. He was a somewhat anxious guy, always on-edge despite his face often saying otherwise. TJ worried. He felt something, like a radio tuning to a station that played something evil. He felt a disturbance.

It was back.

Good God. By it, TJ’s frantic mind obviously meant the Overlook. Where he died. Where he couldn’t leave. Poor Magnus. He didn’t know TJ was dead. He didn’t even know he was dead. Sweet, innocent Magnus. Unmarried, died at 39. His lip nearly quivered at that. He snapped himself out of it. They were good friends. Colleagues. He can pity a colleague. He can pity a friend.

“Uh, TJ?” Magnus’s voice racked him out of his panic.

“What?”

“The forks… the forks are floating,” Magnus responded, pointing at the ceiling. He seemed almost unphased by this. TJ looked up and, surprise, the forks were indeed levitating, their tines brushing the ceiling. He blinked a few times. They all came crashing down, the sound grating on his sensitive ears.

A silent beat between the two of them. Hesitation? Tension? TJ’s mind wandered, worried, panicked.

“Wanna go.. forget about that?” Magnus asked TJ, obviously referring to getting a drink.

“I’ve been sober for years, Mag,” TJ responded flatly.

“That being said, I’d be alright with a cigarette and a good chat out on the back stair.”

thavius actually just became high overseer, only to ask ravengard to come on over RIGHT BEFORE the time limit was up and elturel would be pulled to hell!! ravengard didn’t even WANT to go, he was pressured to, probs bc elturel was gaining power n turning into a proper nation, and they have various disputes that make ulder “at odds” with them!

thavius greeted the duke and then LEFT HIM THERE to “watch from a safe distance” then disguised himself as a refugee and then tells everyone elturel has fallen with HUNDREDS OF HIS OWN PEOPLE THA5 ARE REFUGEES BC OF HIS EVIL ASS, and then goes to chill with duke vanthampur in her VILLA, while all the tieflings are in RAGS.

So I wanna talk Constantine Distorted Illusions some more, not just about it's editorial language mistake. Specificaly about how Kami Garcia changing the magic system and Johns living situation changes how we look at John as a person.

Because Hellblazer John is kinda permanently in survival mode, as somebody who went through lotsa trauma since leaving the womb, he had to learn to build defence systems and survival skills. He was failed by his father and by the system as a mentaly ill queer kid from the 50s/60s that ended up homeless in his teens, so alot of his cynical and selfish behavior makes sense when looking at John as a survivor.

The way magic works in his story also supports looking at John as somebody who worked hard to get where he is.

Here comes Distorted Illusions....oh boy.

So firstly Johns mother is alive, his father is absent rather than abusive, and there's a supprtive and seemingly nice step-father. Secondly he lives in a middle-class (or even upper class) household. Has been born with some of the strongest natural talents for magic thanks to his dads blood, making magic something you have to be born a special way to be able to use rather than something you learn through hard work, his step-dad is another very powerful magician, and John is given support and oputurnities to train and learn more magic by his family and family friends, exept he doesn't take them and shoots them down. So already John comes from somebody who's an asshole as a defense mechanism to somebody who's an asshole basicly for the sake of it.

Next is my biggest problem with John in the story, and that's how vengeful he is, everytime somebody doesn't let him do whatever he wants or he experiences consequences for his actions, rather than learn he does something spiteful (like stealing a magic book from the lady that was supposed to teach him, or trying to curse the guy that blacklisted them from every club in the city for burning up his equipment).

So really John went from a lower class survivor that worked for everything and built a hard shell of cynicism and assholery to a middle to upper-class entitled asshole who needed an ego check. While John being a punk in his teens and young adulthood was a reflection of his mindset on life, world and the system that failed him and his mates, DI John is not much more than a poser who likes the aestethic and sound but holds none of the soul and values of punk.

It also changes how we look at the "well-off gentleman" look of John.

His blue suit (and originaly white gloves) is like a smart facade of a smart and elegant man when he's actualy a street rat, it helps the con-man part of John.

Meanwhile DIs Johns "classic" outfit is like a more mellowed out version of his classic outfit, where while both show off his middle-class status and money, his final outfit is more "normal" and "smarter" rather than the pretty obviously artoficialy raggety but still expensive clothes he wore before.

The Exterminator

So, I’ve been talking with @dnpanimationstudioclone​ about Danny Phantom for a while, mainly their renditions of the cast. While we were talking, something stuck with me while we talked about Spectra: mainly, the way she died.

Basically, the working idea was that a client finally realized Spectra’s true nature and used a black widow to kill her. The plan worked perfectly as the client was never even suspected. Well, I wanted to expand on this character, hence the creation of The Exterminator.

A ghost who is demented enough to use blood blossoms is too horrendous of an idea, hence why many ghosts believe The Exterminator is a myth. However, those who were aided by them know far too well that such a ghost does exist.

The Exterminator(Ex) is a very reclusive ghost. Even when they remove the scent of blood blossom from their hazmat suit, many ghosts just find it too risky to get too close unless they want to attempt to hire Ex or destroy them for status. Despite being classified as a bounty hunter, Ex is incredibly picky with what jobs they accept and dwells more within the material realm, hence making it more difficult to hire. Despite this, many ghosts desire Ex for their infamous blood blossom gas because of how effective it is. Despite the offered money and status, Ex only accepts jobs that require them to take out what they deem as ‘parasites’. 

Character:

Role in the Story- Beyond being a ghostly ally to Danny and the human trio, I would have Ex be a cautionary tale for what Jack and Maddie will become if they ever go too far in their ghostly research(i.e. vivisection/dissection). Though they have good intentions, going past such a threshold would ensure their souls would never truly rest. Ex was right to be furious towards Spectra, but they could have reported and gotten Spectra fired/blacklisted. Instead, Ex went to the ultimate extreme of murder. Ex’s afterlife is one of solitude and they lived a typical life after the murder. What would happen to Jack and Maddie, known ghost hunters, if they become ghosts? Danny can’t imagine a single good outcome if this were to happen. 

Also, Ex’s ultimate goal is to destroy Spectra completely, even if it results in their own destruction as well. 

Abilities

Entomology- If the style of killing Spectra wasn’t already an indicator, Ex was an entomologist in life: a Taxonomic Entomologist to be exact. As their job focused on looking for insects unknown to science, Ex is very observant of their surroundings. Beyond this, Ex’s knowledge of living/ghostly insects makes them quite knowledgeable about making medicines. Ex usually acts as a medic if taking a collaborative job.

Gardening- Beyond insects, Ex grows their own medicinal herbs and flowers. Obviously, the most cherished flowers are blood blossoms. 

Synthesizing- Ex is knowledgeable as to how not to liquefy blood blossom, but to compress it into canisters for portable use. They modified their gas gun to act as a portable synthesizer that can continue altering the blood blossom into different states(like water, ice, and air).

Investigation(conversationalist)- It’s the very reason Ex is so quiet that many humans talk to them: humans tend to hate silence. As Ex has a good memory and is a good listener, many humans like to vent to Ex about earthy and supernatural issues. Despite the Earthy bias, Ex can fill in the blanks of the human victims of the parasitic target, thus Ex only needs humans for additional information. When a ghost does try to talk to Ex normally, the effects are usually the same. Ex is quiet, but that doesn’t make them shy. Despite humans/ghosts not caring they don’t know anything about Ex when their conversations end, these interactions are always one of mutualism as Ex knows when to back off. They will never be in another parasitic relationship again. 

Combat

Fighting style: Capoeira

I would classify it as capoeira as Ex always needs to be on move because of their lean stature and to ensure they spread out the blood blossom gas. You’d think this would be difficult having a large canister on their back, but it’s basically an extension of Ex at this point. Ex is always moving, never giving their target time to process what is going on.

Weaponry choice: Gun/ Bludgeoning 

Gun- Despite being known for pumping out gas, Ex’s gun has different settings on it that they can choose from (similar to Ember’s guitar). These settings are:

Blood Blossom Gas(This gas is so dense, many onlookers mistake Ex’s gun as a flamethrower)

Blood Bullets(compressed blood blossom petals, look more like paint-balls than bullets)

Blossom Goop(meant as harmful confinement for ghosts, can be used for torturous interrogation. Ex has never done this despite Vlad Plasmius’ insistence)

Because of these different states of blood blossom, Ex’s gun acts as a synthesis tool. Also, Ex’s gun works as Bluetooth, hence why there isn’t a cord connected to the canister. However, this means Ex needs to be a certain distance from the active canister, hence why they strap it on their back. Ex can shrink their canisters for easy transportation(keeps them in their belt pouches), but the canisters can’t be activated in these shrunken states. 

Canister- Now, I would have Ex trained with using typical melee weapons(sword, spear, knife, clubs), but I just find the idea of Ex using their canisters as their main bludgeoning weapon to be hilarious. Like, a ghost believes they got Ex to use up all their blood blossom gas so it goes in for an attack. Ex proceeds to bash the ghost into ecto-goop with the empty canister. Ex also uses the exposed canister as bait, many ghosts try to damage their hazmat suit to expose them to their own concoction; an ironic ending to Ex’s existence. However, no ghost has yet to survive such a stunt to spread the word about the truth about Ex.

Ex is a Blood Blossom Ghost.

Pronouns- She/They(unknowingly a demi-girl)

Appearance- 

For her hazmat suit and casual look, I used the blood blossoms color scheme. Despite the blood blossom petals being a bright red, I just couldn’t bring myself to use it beyond Ex’s hair lining, pupils, and the blood blossom gas: it’s just too much for me. 

So, for her hazmat suit, I chose the stem/leaf colors: black and purple. I made the hazmat suit have a gradient to make the brightness of the purple more gradual(seriously, I didn’t remember OG blood blossoms being so bright) and to draw the viewer's eye to Ex’s gas mask. I also added the crossing straps to add visual interest to Ex’s chest. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what to put there logo-wise, so, the straps took its place. I added the additional color of white to lighten things up and to draw a subtle connection to her casual look. I made the Ex’s hazmat suit tight in the chest while making it baggier everywhere(the arms and legs) as I wanted to show off their abs. 

I’m particularly proud of how the canisters turned out despite how simple they are. The spider is to show Ex’s lingering hatred of how Spectra took advantage of them when they were alive. I’m not sure why the canister on Ex’s back is so hazy, but the amount of computer issues I had while drawing Ex makes me not care.

Now Ex’s casual look took a while for me to figure out. First, I wanted a purely sporty look for her, but then I wanted to incorporate overalls into her look. However, once I figured out Ex’s back story, I knew I had to drop both ideas. The overalls would cover Ex’s abs(a huge no-no for Ex), and a hint of sporty fashion with her yarn leg warmers(Even through death, Ex has to keep training to retain her beautiful muscles). Ex’s skin was originally going to be black with purple lining- correlating with the hazmat color scheme, as I found the idea of Ex looking like OG Spectra an interesting parallel. However, I changed it to white as I thought the correlation to Walker was more interesting: Both have good intentions, but their methods have become corrupt over time. For artistic reasoning, I had an easier time adding details over white than black. I made Ex’s pupils X’s as a subtle way to tie her casual look to her hazmat look.

Instead, I went with a more fashionable approach, with Ex wearing a black sheer long-sleeve shirt as a way to show off her abs and feel free. The bra underneath is pure black while the straps and extra detailing are red. The red jean shorts follow the same theme of wanting to feel less constrained and showing off muscles(thighs for days!). Her boots were originally gonna be black, but I just couldn’t get the detailing to pop, so I went with a gray with red stitching. 

Again, despite the simplicity, I love how Ex’s hair turned out. I was having difficulty figuring out what bangs to give her, almost dropping them with the aid of a headband, but I found a very easy solution. I just used the leaf shape of the blood blossoms to help me. I’m especially proud of how her rose bun turned out. If my username wasn’t an indication of it already, I like roses. So, I had a lot of fun just drawing the hair.

With the heavy makeup: the long black eyelashes and red lipstick along with the dark circles underneath her eyes, I wanted to show Ex’s age: either mid-30’s-mid 40’s. As Ex lived her life until passing away to natural causes in her 90s, I wanted her ghost form to reflect when she was in her prime. Not only did she finally achieve her muscular body around that time frame, but that was also when she met her husband. From the golden necklace hangs the diamond wedding ring Ex made sure she was buried with as she never wanted to lose this connection with him. 

Overall, I’m happy with how each version of Ex turned out. I like the idea of Ex wearing a hazmat suit not for their protection, but to protect innocent ghosts from herself as her mere existence is a threat. Not that their hazmat suit is uncomfortable, Ex just wants to occasionally be fashionable and let her muscles air out every once in a while: an act she can only achieve either in her lair or in the human realm. I also like the idea of her gas mask contorting her voice, making it harder for ghosts to truly know who they are until she reveals it herself, like Lord Dominator from Wander over Yonder.

Myer Briggs Personality- INFJ

Ex is very particular about who they choose as a client let alone a friend. Because of this, Ex is always watching, always picking up on every micro action that even the person doesn’t realize they are doing. The observation makes Ex know if those around them have good intentions or not, her intuition has yet to fail even after death. Because Ex speaks only when necessary, those around always stop to listen. 

Don’t mistake Ex’s silence as shyness, for she does like being out in public and is capable of delightful conversation. However, being a ghost does make humans hesitant to approach. Despite this, animals and children don’t seem to find Ex’s presence an issue as the sweet smell of blood blossom makes her quite approachable. Though Ex does enjoy the company, she favors the insects that come and taste the nectar of her petal hair. Even when Ex finds a friend, she tends to spend her personal time alone. While in her hazmat suit, many ghosts/humans can’t seem to pinpoint her gender, thus referring to her as ‘they’. Ex feels no need to correct this as it never hurts to have an alter-ego for protection, but something about being referred to so gender-less comforts Ex for some reason.

Since it takes a while for Ex to make up their mind, when they do make a decision- she tends to take the most extreme approach. Ex offers to make lunch, you’d better expect the number of meal options to rival a buffet. Ex says they’re going to help clean your house, you’ll see she not only dusted every crevice but also alphabetized any books/movies you have and color coordinate your closet. With such an extreme approach, it’s no surprise that Ex has multi-options of blood blossom ammunition. Though Ex is particular about her targets, she views those who protect the targets just as parasitic, thus the ecto-baths are common when Ex strikes. This approach has yet to deem itself negative, with no human nor ghost mourning those who Ex eliminates. Walker has even tried to hire Ex as a guard, but the warden’s need to make those he works with his prisoners have made such a deal impossible. It has taken a lot in Ex not to eliminate Vlad Plasmius for personal beliefs, the old halfa trying to hire Ex and attempting to blackmail her to do so. Alas, the old halfa skewed view of friendship ensures Ex's true companions are safe, so a simple pelting of blood bullets makes the halfa leave her alone for a while. If it weren’t for the fact that Plasmius paid his ghost goons fairly well, Ex would have eliminated the man ages ago.

Because Ex manifested into such a rare ghostly form(blood blossom), she interpreted their predicament as a mission that needs to be completed: To get rid of every parasite they come across. Ex believes if she takes out enough parasites, she can finally ascend and possibly reunite with her family. There are rumors that the parasite Ex had taken out in their life had manifested into a ghost, a rumor Ex takes completely seriously. If Ex were to ever see that damn therapist again, she’d make sure that parasite will completely fade to nothingness even if that means she has to fade too. 

How Ex Gains Strength- Since Ex is a type of plant ghost at the end of the day, water and sunlight are her prime requirements to rejuvenate. It's a slow process to gain additional strength this way, but there’s no way Ex would energy feed like some parasite. Perhaps an ecto-charged plant feeder would give Ex a quick power boost, like an energy drink. Alas, Ex wouldn’t want to have such things too often as she does favor water the most.

Weaknesses- 

Long-range weapons: Blood Blossom and Capoeira can only take Ex so far as a skilled shot can incapacitate them at the very least. 

Ice/Snow: Not only does gas not travel properly in cold climates, but Ex’s gun needs to be at an average temperature to be able to synthesize properly. Can you imagine the embarrassment Ex would feel if she lost not only to a single snowman, but a single snowman that was very capable at snowball fights? 

Approachability: It’s hard to get a read on someone who’s always wearing a mask. The fact Ex doesn’t talk much makes it even more difficult for many to approach. 

Story Facts in no particular order:

It’s Vlad who informs Ex that Spectra does exist and he can take them to her as proof: A corrupted version of Zuko helping Katara find the man that killed her Mother.

It’s Danny that teaches Ex the gender identity of ‘Demi Girl’, thus helping Ex learn more about themselves.

Ex found out that she wanted muscles after killing Spectra when she went to a bodybuilding competition and saw the women contestants.

She graduated from Cornell University with a master's in entomology. It was during college that she met her husband.

Ex had two boys(twins) and one daughter

Jazz reminds Ex of her daughter 

Ex is completely willing to teach any human about blood blossom protection. 

As humans don’t have ghostly money, Ex takes water as payment whenever they help with human parasites.

Ex never truly fights Danny, merely dodging his attacks until he and the rest of the phantom team calmed down enough to just talk with Ex.

Ex teaches Valerie how to properly take care of blood blossoms as the ones in her care at the time were struggling. 

Ex is completely willing to teach any human about blood blossom protection. 

Ex will destroy Spectra when they finally find her. Not only to ensure that no one else will become a victim but to make sure there’s no possible way Ex would feel as weak when she was in Spectra’s “care”.  

When the two are face to face, Spectra and Ex instantly recognize each other.

Both Ex and Spectra are willing to fade to nothing if it means the protection of others, Spectra protects Klemper while Ex protects Jazz and the citizens of Amity Park. However, it’s Klemper and Jazz who protect the two from themselves.

Edward is capable of reproduction if his partner has a womb. He had fathered and raised dhampirs (half vampire, half human) in the past.

Edward's saliva contains a certain venom, which, if it gets into his victim's bloodstream, acts like an aphrodisiac. It has to have that, so the bitten mortals wouldn't fight back. In turn, his bite can quickly turn on his victims, making them almost crave to be bitten again. That heightened arousal lasts for about half an hour. Yes, victims can have an orgasm when they're bitten. The venom can be absorbed in other ways (see this post) although, it takes a longer time for the body… but this way, even kissing mortals for long periods of time can turn them into blabbering little messes. 😏

History: Edward just woke up from his 300 years long vampiric slumber. The new age is confusing for him, but he knows some things - like blood - never changes...

Born to a wealthy British family in 2540 BCE, Edward Blackburn was the only son of his parents. His mother, Lady Astrid Blackburn, died giving birth to his twins after he was born, and his father, Sir Magnus Blackburn, never married again. He rather focused on teaching Edward all he knew. Edward was willing to learn, but only until his father had lost his sense of authority upon treating servants wrong. The Blackburn family was vast, they had a manor to live in, Edward had spent a lot of time with his cousins who visited them often, and the servants who liked him because he was kind to them. He particularly loved the horses. He was often gone for days on horseback, trying to find undiscovered places and adventure.

When his father died from pneumonia when he was thirty, he had met a man who offered him a deal. Edward could keep his station, his manor, his servants and everything he held dear in his life, if he accepted his gift. If he did not agree, he'd slaughter everyone except him. Not knowing what the gift was, Edward agreed. Little did he know that he had crossed paths with Earth's First Murderer, the First Son, the ancient vampire who called himself Cain. And the gift, of course, was his bite and blood - something that changed Edward once and for all.

He had woken up under the stars at night, with Cain sitting beside him. His new Master let him keep his manor, his servants, his horses. The only thing he demanded from him was loyalty.

And Edward was loyal. He wasn't like the other vampires Cain had turned before, though; this particular one was strict to his own moral compass. He didn't kill, not even on command - which always resulted in harsh punishment, and even then, Edward did not obey. Cain realised quite quickly that he would not turn Edward on his side this way, his little fledgling required special care.

Cain broke him in. Slowly, deliberately. He used innocent people, threatening to hurt them if Edward didn't comply. Cain loved to use anyone he met, on his own terms, and Edward was perfect for that as he was easy to keep under control. Cain introduced him to a world of pain and pleasure; he held orgies in his manor often and gifted him to several groups of strangers to use him as they saw fit while he was watching so they wouldn't cause Edward permanent harm. The psychological torture was much worse than the physical; Edward couldn't expect when the next horror would arrive, and what would it be. And Cain was clever and creative; he knew exactly how to extort the maximum distress out of a person.

So when he offered that he wouldn't pass him to strangers during orgies to be used and degraded, only if Edward married him - Edward was quick to say yes. He didn't like feeling helpless and weak.

He had no idea what he agreed to. Every stranger that ever touched him was collected in Cain's manor, and they were systematically slaughtered to never tell anyone about it in the future. Then, they've spent a few hundred years together, during which Edward had learned a lot about Cain, his motives, his personality - and even then, he could not hate him. On the contrary; during those years Edward slowly fell in love with him. If it was due to Cain being someone loveable or because Edward developed feelings in order to survive with his abuser - it's a matter of point of view.

Eventually, Cain became bored and left Edward's country, leaving him to his own devices. Freedom brought the young vampire peace and calm, something he hadn't felt in hundreds of years. He slowly established his manor and started to learn how to create gear for horse riding.

-IMPORTANT: I love to interact most of the time, but I struggle to due to a multitude of reasons stemming from neurodivergence and mental illness - I am anxious and forgetful. Sometimes I will take seconds to respond, and sometimes I will take hours, days or weeks. This is not against you but rather something I personally struggle with, so please don't take my lack of response to heart and please don't hold it against me because I cannot control it. I ask you please not to pressure me in any way about responding quicker.

Also, just to note, I don't usually like “*bites you*” even in a platonic or silly way so please don't unless I say it's okay!

-Tone tags! I appreciate the use of tone tags! I think most of my mutuals use them so it's usually not an issue, but sometimes I can misunderstand things. Usually I just don't interact if I don't understand tbh.

-Tag / ask games! I love these and feel very honoured when I am tagged! I often join in on chains I'm not tagged in too.
