Decided to work on the funnybunny commemoration sketch from earlier

I just saw a comment on YouTube by the poster of the video saying that Israeli citizens were not welcome on their channel, and that Israel’s existence should be erased.

Genuinely, what the fuck.

Don’t get me wrong, what Israel is doing right now is awful. I’m all for Palestine. Palestine should be recognised and the people should get to live in peace. Honestly, I don’t really care who you support, if you protest for either side of if you’re neutral and stay out of it.

But now, you’re blaming the people for the actions of their leader. You’re putting everyone in that country in a little box labelled “evil” and “not deserving of a place in the world”. By the same logic, citizens of any country that has ever committed a genocide have no right or place in the world, are not welcome anywhere. Is that really the direction you want to go?

I thought that was common sense, but apparently not, so I’m saying it: no matter which side you support, that’s disgusting. Don’t use your pro-Palestine label as an excuse to be a discriminatory asshole. That’s not what supporting Palestine is about.

One of my best friends is Israeli, and she’s the nicest person I know. She supports Palestine. She regularly comments on war-related issues she and her family has dealt with in Israel. She freely explains Israeli politics and she was happy when the ceasefire happened. She was disappointed when it stopped. She’s normal and she cares and she deserves a place in the world just like all of us. She’s human.

“There’s no place for the people of Israel” fuck you. You should be ashamed of yourself for this.

Here’s what I’m doing then: anyone who thinks any population deserves no rights or recognition, including Israel, can fuck off from my blog and not ever interact with me.
