we already know the trevor project but sage, if you don’t know, provides assistance in taking care of our elder queer community, those who may not have support or care from their blood family in their older years. it’s an awesome program.

The fandom when Anya is nice to jimmy and compliments/butters him up after the crash: obviously this is a fawn response. She doesn’t actually think these things about jimmy, she is simply trying to protect herself against a volatile, unstable person by placating him

The fandom when curly tries to placate jimmy by telling Jimmy he’d fix things, after being very nervous about jimmy’s anger and reaction when talking to Anya right beforehand and his heart racing so hard on the way to confront jimmy that he’s likely on the verge of a panic or anxiety attack: hmm. Obviously everything curly is saying to jimmy here is completely genuine and not motivated by anything. He obviously doesn’t care about the fact jimmy raped Anya and only cares about helping jimmy at the detriment to Anya. He’s a rape apologist. There could literally be no other potential explanation for why curly is saying the things he is saying right now. Let’s take everything curly is saying here completely at face value and not analyze anything else about Curly’s behavior or the rest of the scene.

Hey did you guys know that a lot of psych-meds (SSRIs, SNRIs, et al) can cause tooth decay? Because I didn’t until a dentist mentioned it to me; no psychiatrist or GP prescribing me those drugs over the years thought to mention it

hey you guys know that even if the people inside that submersible are rich billionaires, dying in that metal tube at the bottom of the ocean is a horrific way to die right. like. yeah stupid choices were made by the people in there signing off on a waiver that says the sub is not approved by anyone and they could die. but it’s the fault of OceanGate for knowingly putting people into a Home Depot DIY sub rigged up with an Xbox controller all to make a profit on people’s curiosity.

something that shouldn’t be a hot take but is: the reason that it seems like all the “mediocre” writers have a ton of books at the “good” writers don’t isn’t bc DC loves to reward mediocrity or favoritism or w/e (or at least it’s not only that).

the reason is bc no matter how good a writer is, if you give them too many projects with unmovable deadlines that they have to juggle, the quality is going to inevitably start slipping somewhere bc they’re rushing to get things done. it’s the same reason a lot of books will have a really strong 3-6 issues at the start before the quality starts to dip – usually when you pitch a book, you already have the first arc planned out.

you would think the way to combat this would be to give writers less books, but unfortunately the nature of freelance is that most of the writers (and artists) who work for DC don’t get paid enough to live on from writing only a single book. if writing comics is your only source of income and you need to do it to eat, you’re going to try to take on as many additional projects as you feel like you can handle.

imo the solution to this should, in theory, be for DC to put writers on salary instead of freelance and pay them better to focus more on fewer projects, but DC doesn’t want to pay them for shit bc they think they should be grateful for even having the honor of working there.
