Right so - I am SO PLEASED and proud of how this turned out!!!

I took inspiration from the painting on the left by Dongni Hou, and turned it into Kassandra! It was the first time I ever painted something like this and it was a bit intimidating and the proportions aren't perfect and the shading could be better, but it's one of my favorites now!

I like to imagine it's Kassandra if she snuck the spear into the symposium - the scene may have gone a little differently, surely.

So yeah, I'm happy with it for sure!! 🥹

Been thinking about Ford watching the 70s Animated Lord of the Rings Movies... (companion comic to this post!)

#the other two VHS tapes Fidd's is holding are Rankin-Bass' The Hobbit (1977) and Return of the King (1980)! The 70s animated pseudo-trilogy!#A lot of people pointed out on my other lotr 'crossover' post that Ford would have seen the 70s movies!#And i wont lie i entirely forgot they existed. But now i remember i have so many feelings on it okay. Just a heads-up, I'll be gone for the next few weeks to Japan. Been planning this trip with one of my besties (aka the Donnie in my life) to celebrate our 20th friend-iversary. We'll mostly just be eating and soaking in hot springs, but since the two of us are very Leo/Donnie coded it is likely I might post some shorts or photos of our adventures. Bad Newts: Amphibians are in Serious Trouble

My colleagues and I have just had a paper published in Nature, based on our efforts to assess almost all amphibian species for the IUCN Red Lists. The major takeaway messages:

It is a bad time to be an amphibian

Two fifths of all amphibians are threatened with extinction.

Salamanders are the most threatened group; three fifths of all salamanders are threatened with extinction!

Climate change is a major driver of amphibian declines globally

Habitat loss, especially due to agriculture, is a problem for the vast majority of amphibians

Chytrid pandemics have caused and continue to cause catastrophic declines of both salamanders and frogs

Protected areas and careful management are working as strategies! They are actively improving the outlook of some species

As many as 222 amphibian species may have gone extinct in recent times; of those, 185 are suspected extinct but not yet confirmed.
