people are getting uhhhh a wee bit zany with their ted lasso (character) hatred lately WHO is out here sending anti-ted lasso asks to all my mutuals 😭😭 the amount of sentiments i've seen on my dash about wanting Ted to die (...wishing roy would kill him on Jamie's behalf??? ...HELLO??) or like just generally wishing the show had never had him in it and wasn't about him at all because he's atrocious like woahhh reel it in babes!!

One of my employees called to tell me they were going to call out sick a day from now. “I’m not sick, I just won’t be there.”
And you know what I’m not even mad. Appreciate the honesty. At least I have time to look for coverage and no one has to do a double

Im edging and throbbing so hard, Do you think I should shoot my cum all over my face or in my mouth for you. What would you prefer?
I would prefer you fuck off entirely and learn some basic respect, human decency, and reading comprehension before contacting anyone ever again.

So for some reason, I thought I would not have to do specialty-specific research to match pulm/crit, and that I could get away with exclusively having medical education scholarly projects. This was probably dumb of me, but I am nevertheless really unhappy to find out I was wrong. I just hate research man. I love science, I love digging into the literature and coming up with good questions and synthesizing information, but I hate performing analysis myself. I especially hate churning out shitty chart reviews and case reports just to pack my resume, and the thought of having to keep doing that during residency makes me wanna throw up. The vast majority of research done by physicians is utter trash (we do not have the time or training to complete meaningful research on our own most of the time!), it doesn’t improve physicians’ scientific literacy, it is just chasing prestige. I hate it. Please please let me work on a project that is actually meaningful.

The sunk cost fallacy I fall for again and again is discord servers.
But at least I finally left a server, because also I am not a person who can just mute and forget it exists, because hey maybe it has gotten better! (It never gets better).

I think no one in the band really hated Hot Space, they were just disappointed with the reception.
Tumblr media
I think some of them may have come to hate in hindsight. BUT, whenever you create something, and out so much work into something, you are never going to start off by thinking "oh, this sucks". Like, they would not have released the album if they thought it sucked. That would never have happened.
So, yes, I think once the reception was as poor as it turned out to be, they looked back and started nitpicking a product they had initially believed in.

I need you to understand that when we're talking and you ask what I've been up to and I respond I've been mostly busy with work. I am NOT bragging. I am not a grind girly. I do not thrive on being busy and making it my whole personality. It is a cry for HELP!! I AM A PRISONER TO THE SYSTEM! SAVE ME!!

What do you think gay men are attracted to in men that they can’t be attracted to in women?
It can’t be anything about femininity or masculinity obviously. That’s both sexist, and cultural so can’t be what drives men-only attraction.
It can’t be anything about stated identity because someone could lie just as easily as they could tell the truth in such a statement, and it makes no sense because homosexuality and heterosexuality exists in other species with no stated identities. It’s not like other animals without gender are all pan.
Saying idk it’s the vibes or some indescribable trait men have that women can’t but “I can’t explain” is a nonanswer.
Soooooooo what is it? Or do you think any sexuality but bi/pan is just cultural performance or an identity rather than an inborn orientation?

Some guidance to my colleagues:
If I leave a note on something saying "if X, do Y" then I don't want you to tell me the story of what happened and how you feel about it and ask whether I want you to do Y. I want you to do Y.
If you don't understand something I've done, asking me is going to be a lot more effective than asking someone else in the same open plan office to guess what I might have been thinking while I overhear and get more and more annoyed.
If I ask you what data you need, please tell me, in exacting detail, so I can get it right the first time. It's not asking too much. Playing down your needs so I dumb it all down and delete stuff, then coming back with endless "could you justs" that require redoing the whole damn thing, is asking too much.
I don't know if it's a neurotypical thing or a traumatised-by-bad-management thing to make everything into a multi-person drama, but knock it off, and do the most straightforward fix.
I am fucking begging you to accept that the correct answer IS that simple and you don't have to dance around it forever.

"people show their true colours in life threatening situations" no, they show you what they act like when they're mortally terrified, an emotion notorious for literally turning your entire brain off to the point where people who go into those situations as a profession need to be literally trained on how to not have that happen
