my 2-week summer vacation started (the minimum length required) and i'm dreading the whole thing. people at work told me to rest and enjoy the free time and do what i want

like i totally get them since that is the point but the reason i keep avoiding having vacations is that i always fall into behaviour that can low key be considered self-destructive.

routines and busy schedule might actually be something that keeps someone sane and healthy, and i wish people could take that into account

my doc tried to get me a referral for something like massage therapy or manual therapy but it went through as PT so i'm fully expecting to walk back in there for the third time in my life and be told i'm in a constant and increasing amount of pain just because i must either be lying about the fact that i'm still doing my stupid fucking stretches or i must not be doing them exactly the right perfect way or something

I don't like talking politics, I don't like hearing others push their ideologies on me, and I certainly don't like the unbelievable heights that this horse blinder social intolerance has reached in the last few years, but for me, today was going to be a shit day no matter who won last night.

When the fuck are the dominant parties going to start backing candidates who aren't reprehensible scumbags? When did the office of the President of the United States stop demanding a certain decorum and dignity? Why are these the only choices we ever get now?

I have not WANTED to vote for one person since the 90s.

I turn 50 next year and have literally wanted a candidate that I was of age to vote for to be President once in my entire lifetime.

(No joke, I voted for Howard Stern once because both backed candidates were such awful choices)

I'm probably the problem not getting onboard, I get that, but I see so many drinking the Kool Aid with no beliefs of their own, that tow the line of whoever they want to win the popularity contest that the Presidency has become, but no one seems to consider the ramifications of their decisions. No one thinks about the agenda of these mouthpieces of the party machine once they're in power, they just want their chosen talking head to win so they can say "HAHA - FUCK YOU" to anyone who doesn't think exactly what they do.

Having to make the choice between Donald Trump or Kamala Harris was like asking whether you want to be kicked in the dick or punched in the throat, and I'm sick of feeling that way every four years.

Today was going to be a shit day no matter who won. And unless some great rearrangement of the chakras takes place, four years from today we'll have another one just like it.
