The Vampire Aesthetic
Ok so Danny knows two billionaires personally and they really couldn’t be more different. Yet they had one thing in common. A vampire aesthetic. Sam is fully into goth. Spiderwebs, bats, the color black. She enjoys fangs and fake blood and the darkness of her soul. Meanwhile, Vlad is Vlad. If his name wasn’t enough, the dark clothing, pale skin, and flying around with a cape and fangs with coffins in his mansion really sells it.
Danny doesn’t know many rich people so he thinks this might be some kind of trend. (If Paulina is rich, her family likes the chupacabra) So he just thinks that all rich people have some kind of vampire thing going on.
Cue Danny somehow ending in the Wayne household. Maybe he was brought over as a friend of one of the bats, maybe rescued from a field trip/vacation gone wrong, maybe some other situation. But he is there in civilian form with civilian Waynes and Danny just takes a good long look around the inside of the mansion.
“So where’s the vampire aesthetic?
Everyone freezes.
Danny just starts looking around, checking behind paintings and feeling the walls for secret levers. Used to secret passages with Vlad and possibly Sam. The Fentons definitely had them when they were temporarily rich.
“Come on, I know you guys are hiding it.”
Cue the entire batfamily thinking that this is another Tim and that he is fully aware that these people are the batfamily. Danny hangs around the mansion more and the bats just start dropping their disguises and not even bothering to hide stuff around Danny because they assume he already knows. (Possibly even trying to recruit him to be a new bat) Meanwhile, Danny, who does not know these people are batman and his birds, just does not pick up on any of it.
He grew up in a health violation with a giant ballon observatory lab above his head and a portal to the afterlife in his basement. He is a half dead teenager who has tea with the god of time and his godfather is the other parent to his clone child. He’s used to death lazers being scattered across his home and mysterious stains on clothing.
People are weird! He doesn’t judge!

Yk people always say “I was born in the wrong generation etc etc.”
But what about those of us who were born in the wrong universe. Now I’m not talking like “oh I hate this world boo hoo…” I’m talking dragons.
I was meant for a world with magic and gods and fairies and nymphs and mermaids and dragons WHERE THE HELL ARE MY DRAGONS!?!?!?

Hey! I’ve been lurking your page for a little while, and really like your work! I was wondering if maybe you could write headcanons for Husk and Lucifer comforting a reader who has sensory issues, and accidentally came into contact with a texture that made them feel really overwhelmed?
Husk
Very befuddled the first time this happens. This man does not know what to do.
He wants to help but he doesn’t know how and is afraid of making things worse.
Depending on how badly you react, he won’t even ask you questions, afraid of overstimulating you more.
He just extends his paw for you to make as much or as little contact as you want and tries to guide you to a quiet, dark space.
After that first time though, he gets prepared.
He asks you what triggered it. Gets rid of all of those textures. Asks you what textures will help you get rid of the bad ones and writes it down in a list.
He also does this with all your other senses. Smell, taste, sight. Very aware of his surroundings.
This will be one of the times he won’t grumble and complain (no matter how light hearted) when you start petting him (be it fur or feathers) and ask if he could start purring.
He is a big, winged cat. This man is king of DPT.
Lucifer
In my head & heart, Lucifer has AuDHD. He gets it.
The first time it happens, he is looking around the room for something, anything he’s noticed you fiddle with a lot (because he’s hyper analyzed your body language, of course he knows what you fiddle with).
He grabs it and offers it to you.
He gets some water for you after you calm down, fetches your favorite blanket, and just sits next to you.
If you get embarrassed afterwards, he assures you that he understands.
You two talk about what your triggers are. You agree on several and complain about how it’s just awful. The worst. Heaven must have created it specifically to torture the both of you.
Overall, just a lot of camaraderie between the two of you. Lots is shared experiences.
Now you both have someone to look out for each other.

I finally watched Gift of the Night Fury and I gotta say this is my favorite characterization of Astrid ever. Like I have no hate against her she’s always just been a yeah she’s cool kinda character to me but her being so optimistic in gotnf bordering on manic is so good to me. Her trying her best to forcefully bring cheer during sad times is so entertaining and gives her the chaotic touch that I always felt her character was missing. And those moments when it’s apparent that she’s really bad at comforting people sometimes is so funny to me it makes her feel a little more real.
Also I think the art style really helped I don’t know how to explain it other than it feels like they syringe fed like two tiny droplets of Tim Burton into it - it gives all the characters a slightly insane look in their eyes favorite animation style for em yet <3

Sunfyre obeying commands said in the common tongue implies absolutely nothing about Aegon’s bond with his dragon.
Dragons are very intelligent magical animals, but they are still animals, and the language they are trained in is the language they’ll understand and respond to.
However, Aegon training Sunfyre in the common tongue does convey something about Aegon. Above all, it shows how disconnected he is from his Valyrian heritage, and due to his disinterest in becoming fluent in High Valyrian, it also suggests that he is simply uninterested in learning more about that side of his identity. This also exemplifies the ongoing assimilation of the Targaryens into Westerosi culture and foreshadows their increasing conformity with Westerosi traditions and values.
Again, Aegon commanding Sunfyre in the common tongue does not say anything about how strong or weak their bond is. It simply shows that Aegon is more or less uninterested in his Valyrian heritage and has assimilated into Westerosi culture more than any other Targaryen at the time (that we’ve seen so far).
Now, I have a lot of gripes with the HOTD writers and the additions and changes that they’ve made, but I see no problem with this one. This isn’t something the HOTD writers wrote in on a whim nor is it more proof of the writers being anti-Aegon (a prominent belief that Aegon stans hold). It is actually very consistent with both Aegon’s previous characterization and the green factions ideology.
So my confusion with team greens outrage lies here with this question: For the team that is so anti-Targaryen, why are you guys angry that Aegon is detached from his Valyrian heritage?

Avatar doesn’t need a live action, neither does HOW TO TRAJN YOUR DRAGOK WJAT TJE FUCK-
The way I think about it is this: If a live action cannot improve, expand on, make more accessible, and/or complement the original animated version, it’s not necessary. If after watching the live action you STILL hold the original version in higher regard, the show didn’t need a live action. What will it bring to the story other than more money for a greedy corporation? Ok yes it might be nice to see a show you like in a different medium, but do we live in a bubble? Do we indulge and overindulge in the same stories over and over and over and never see anything original or unique or… risky?
Because I don’t know about you guys but I’ve been noticing a lot of live action remakes recently. And movies that don’t take many risks. And Star Wars.
Consider One Piece, which I think is a brilliant example of a live action doing everything it should do. Heck it made my mum love One Piece but she would NEVER watch the original anime; the anime is flawed, pandering, misogynistic (yes it’s one of the better shōnen anime for this, I know) in it’s objectification of women, ridiculous to the point that it only appeals to… anime fans, what more need I say? Whereas the live action is fun, goofy, touching and meaningful, boasts a huge pacing improvement and is accessible to a much wider audience to a far greater effect than a live action of the other two will achieve. It complements the original and even excels in many aspects.
Avatar and HTTYD function perfectly in their original medium. God I can’t stand that they’re being remade. WHY? It’s like Frankenstein. Remaking and remaking and always ALWAYS missing the point of the original text. Humanity is doomed-
Sorry that got deep.
Like can we get an adaptation of the Stormlight Archive?
If you adore these two shows and are just excited about it I’m happy for you, live your life, etc. I just don’t share the sentiment and feel that it represents something wrong with our attitude to storytelling and medium (and capitalism. It’s capitalism, guys. Ursula K. Le Guin tried to warn us-)
As always feel free to interact with this post but keep it friendly and respectful. If you can’t do that then DNI.
