I've been hooked on nomads recently so of course I just HAD to draw something

I know the series is pretty angsty right now, so here ya go!

I was admitedly very lazy with the outfit design and honestly I'm not even gonna try and hide the fact that that turtle was 100% traced💀

I wasn't in the mood to do ANOTHER study, which uh... probably explains a lot

• Where oh where to begin with this man's issues. For starters, "functional" alcoholic. While he does not drink on the job(he has some standards), he does go bar hopping quite frequently after work. Oh you think he has everything together? HA. No, absolutely not.

• His desk and office at work is perfectly contained, neat and orderly but good GOD his home is a NIGHTMARE. Stacks of books, paperwork, bottles of booze both empty and not. Take out containers. Sorry girlies he is peak burnout male living space.

• He does not have a favorite food. If anything, his ideal food is a flavorless nutrition brick that has all the required vitamins and sustenance a human needs to survive. Alas no restaurant has been able to accommodate his request.

• Gifted child syndrome no doubt. My man has undiagnosed autism that was not addressed cause he was the favorite and it has put a strain on his relationships with his family. He's not good speaking terms with his father but will attend gatherings out of obligation(and on the low chance to see Wirth).

• Speaking of Wirth. Orter is a bit of a brocon? Not to the extent of Lance. He struggles to try and reconnect with his younger brother and has been making attempts but both of these idiots are so emotionally constipated that it takes outside intervention for them to finally make up. From there Orter just, cannot say no to Wirth. Like he's trying to make up for lost time. Feels like daggers digging straight into his heart when Wirth gets upset with him because he's lowkey afraid of becoming estranged again. Their relationship is getting better though, although Wirth now wishes Orter would stop being such a helicopter parent all of a sudden.

• As for relationships romantically? No, absolutely not. Nope, no, nada. Nah man. Any time his coworkers try to invite him to a date mixer he peace fades into sand and leaves. Any time his father tries to set him up with a potential spouse suddenly he has so much work to do. He doesn't get it. He doesn't understand. It's a hassle and he wishes people would leave him alone about it.

• Terrible with kids. Has no idea how to handle a crying child. Probably the one who made the kid cry in the first place because his Resting Bitch Face is so intimidating. No one is happy.

• Sometimes forgets to sleep/eat whenever he's caught up in work or in a good book. The other DVs sometimes place lunches on his desk for this reason.

• In terms of closeness with the other Divine Visonaries. He is on friendly(as friendly as Orter can really be) terms with Ryoh and Kaldo, is amicable with Rayne, Sophina and Tsurara, neutral with Agito and very much dislikes Renatus(the feeling is mutual).

FINALLYYYYYY. My guys of the jury, this has a tracked 30 damn hours and boy does it feel like it. ANYWAYS, I return for more AU shenanigans because Get Redeemed Loser AU lives in my head rent free. Felt like a nice way to experiment with more vertical style comics? Which is SM EASIER TO PANEL THAN CLASS LAYOUTS. I get why they're so much more common nowadays. Comic,,, so satisfying but at what cost,,, i'm tired. So proud of the top half tho :3.

Okay back to AU brainrot, Mark and Wasp fighting over one of their core differences! I think this is early in their relationship where Mark still thinks Wasp can at least understand what it's like being Nolan's son, only to get smacked in the face with how pride Wasp holds in that title. had a funky asgardian dream last night lol

the premise was that loki fucked around and basically an amnesiac version of loki ended up back in time with so many holes in his memory but enough knowledge to be like "odin is my dad"

and odin looked at this kid and was like "aw he looks like hela, this tracks" and, importantly, does not know that loki is a frost giant and just assumes loki is his full blood kid lol

all that to say that loki and thor grow up with big brother!loki who is actually?? a good big brother?

rather than hide hela's existence, older loki makes odin nostalgic and he ends up telling them that hela is their big sister who was "lost to the war" or some bullshit, which most people assume to mean she died in the war, right?

older loki sees like, one picture of her, notes the similarities, and then for some weird reason feels profoundly uncomfortable so he decides not to unpack all that and just avoids mention of her lol. kid thor doesn't really care that much about her bc she's not in their lives so why should he? kid loki LOVES learning about her and actively seeks info about her out, mostly because he thinks a big sister would probably be better than two older brothers (he also is young enough that lost to the war means that he could probably find her, right?)

importantly, kid!Loki grows up very differently in this dream world. instead of being the weird outcast prince, everyone looks at him and is like "awww look he's like his big brother <3." he's also like, 8 so at the moment he is very much the baby of the family

anyway so the main plot of this dream was big Loki (imagine like a 19/20 year old) plus thor (like 12) and Loki (8ish) manage to find where Hela is sealed away. idk where they are or where the king and queen are, it's implied they're not in asgard right now and this was a Very Unplanned Field Trip that is giving older Loki an ulcer. They have to look at little Loki to confirm this weird fucking ceiling portrait is Hela bc the older two are not the Hela Experts in the room

at the same time, older Loki is starting to get some flashes of the future and begins to suspect that he's from the Bad Timeline

through accident, they manage to unseal Hela, who is met with three whole younger siblings - and let me tell you it is a very different welcome when you have a very enthusiastic 8-yr-old sparkling at you and very excited to have found his lost sister and a 12-yr-old who thinks girls kind of have cooties rolling his eyes

so hela makes a split second decision to not tell her baby brothers about the whole "dad sealed me away for being warful" thing (it will be a fun surprise for odin later <3) and also embrace being a big sister (it is now her legal job to pick on older loki and make fun of thor for being the odd one out)

anyway while they're figuring this out, older Loki is continuing to get flashes of the future but is now somehow joined by thor also getting flashes of the future. what they manage to glean makes them suspicious, and hey if they're both getting future visions or whatever then logically baby loki should also be, right??

so they start to like. suspiciously spy on little loki. except idk maybe the universe decided that one loki having knowledge was fine? i don't think older loki actually fully knows about the time travel thing or that he IS little loki tbh

so anyway they're spying on an eight year old who has a strict bedtime of nine o'clock.

meanwhile hela starts getting flashes of the future and is like "wait. do i destroy asgard?? why would i do that? where would my brothers live? ):"

the only other thing i remember is there being a dramatic scene where hela is trying to reject her fate and someone tells her that she cannot escape it, and she's actually getting teary eyed because she's gotten attached to her weird shitty brothers now

then i woke up and was like "huh"

Idk if this is a hot take but why is it always “Kai slaved away and worked his ass off to raise his sister” and never the other way round or them working hard together?

Like, I know he’s older but in the show, does he really… act older? Like if you think about Kai and Nya’s dynamic yknow? Because from my understanding:

When Kai and Nya are introduced we see Kai fail at making a sword and Nya being the one to chide him for it. Kai makes an overconfident statement about wanting to be a better blacksmith than his father. This suggests that one, Kai is rather rash as well as inexperienced (something that lines up with the rest of his character arc in the pots and also generally), with Nya being the more mature figure in contrast

Also just a note but in the shorts: “I can handle it!” “No you can’t, stupid”

Kai frequently being very good at neglecting people or things: leaving Lloyd at an arcade whilst being focused on finding samurai x, not even knowing samurai x was Nya or that she only did it because she felt left out by him, completely abandoning both Nya and Lloyd in s3 (and Ik he was going through it at the time, but in line with the fandom’s characterisation of him)

Kai in season 5: “After I lost my dad, I lost my way. But I was lucky to have my sister watch over me”

Generally, their dynamic isn’t one where Kai really provides for Nya at all. In fact, judging by the fact that Nya can make entire mechs and Kai struggled to make a sword, Nya was probably busting her ass to provide for Kai. And judging by the s5 quote, that’s probably true. I’m not saying Nya raised Kai, it just rubs me the wrong way when she’s treated like a decorative flourish to a narrative that paints Kai as a burnt out child who was forced to grow up too soon especially since that is such a mischaracterisation of him in the first place.
