a little story/headcanons up ahead, and the sketch for this piece, tehee ;p

she always liked making flower crowns with her parents, especially when inevitably there were leftover flowers that they could throw unto the air to make it seem like it was raining flowers. her dad was always better at making the crowns, but her mama always found the best flowers to use and which went together well. and she always found the best picnic spots.

her dad made sure there were no bees around and that she always had an epipen with a spare and a spare for the spare. her mana made sure none of the food with them had animal products or nuts, and made sure she had her safe foods.

and our little Juanita made sure her family stuck together. sure her parents bickered, but she always had to faux-gag after they kissed and made up. she got to sit and lean on her mama's chest, curled up in his embrace while the sun warmed her scaly skin, listening to the humming of her dad while he carefully made her the most beautiful flower crown befitting a princess. she got to laugh and giggle while her dad gave her the extra flowers to throw into the air and her mama gave a weather report of incoming "flower rain".

her dad still checks for bees and makes sure he has an epipen and makes flowercrowns, but he no longer has anyone to do it for.

her mama still makes sure there's no nuts or meat in the food he brings with him, but he realises as soon as the rain falls that there's no reason to do it anymore.

and our little huevo isn't there to bring them together.

It was hard to pick a design from @redwallclan . The premise and character designs are all very cool!! But I eventually went for the leader, Rimemoon. What can I say? I’m a sucker for a guy with ice motifs.

Honeyspring from @mourningsbane .. My tragic girlboss. I support women’s rights and women’s wrongs. I think she should have infinity amount of revenge. Also I’m going to go buy her kits some dinosaur chicken nuggets and some zoopals plates to eat them on. I think that will fix them.

Bat from @mammoth-clangen is such a sweetie!! A king. If anything happens to him I will be inconsolable for approximately three months. He also gets a zoopals plate to eat his prey off of. He deserves it.

Saltburn from @nanistar ‘s Saltburn’s clan.. That comic is probably my current favorite WC fancomic. Silly cats in the desert? Check. A secret clan with glowy mushrooms? Check. Horrible horrible family dynamics? Check. Go read Saltburn’s clan if you haven’t.

Finally we have Lynxpaw from @salt-clangen I really enjoy Bonefall’s work. And I have a soft spot for Cleric/Healer apprentices that have to kinda figure everything out themselves. I’m rooting for her success. You go, girlie!!

Another year draws to an end~ what a ride 2024 has been! Lots of stuff happened: I finished postgrad, started a job and I even got engaged just this last week to the sweetest man ever! In some attributes, he even reminds me of Zhongli a bit <3 oh, and he follows this blog and acknowledges Zhongzhong is THE husband ever so hiii V you know who you are bestie ;)

This time last year on my blog, I had about 800+ followers. Now, I have 3.1k and counting, which is just, aaaaaa! It makes me so happy to see that I can dump my brainrot about Zhongli all I want here and people are actually interested in listening ;u;

I'm definitely disappointed that the year of the dragon didn't exactly herald any Zhongli lore, but as Ei says, his story is far from finished. So I'm still excited to see what direction his tale will take! I personally am still huffing the sun god theory copium, but any Zhongli crumbs are a whole buffet to me.

You can expect to see lots and lots of Zhongli food from me in the coming year, so stick around for that! I know I have many inbox messages to get to as well so pls be patient :') oh! And dare I say I have a Zhongli longfic in the pipeline finally? Need to work out the kinks and things, but when I do roll it out I think I'll upload a chapter per week. So if you want a more immersive fic with a fleshed-out world, keep an eye out for it~!

I'm rambling like Zhongli here but lastly, thank you all SO MUCH for all your support!! You guys really DELIGHT me with every lovely message you send, and comments and reblogs too, and lord knows my heart flutters and I literally SOB (/pos) when you say you love the way I portray Zhongli!! (If you've been here long, you'll know I've written about Zhongli doing calligraphy a couple times. So this year's birthday art with it actually happening? I am on CLOUD NINE)

Well it's good that Epel is in the clear but I felt that he might despise Vil for using his family apple juice as the murder weapon that could lead to his family into trouble. Sometimes I feel like if that Vil murdered Neige happened, Epel might ended up being upset at Vil given how deeply care about his family and their farm and he use the apple juice for a contest that Vil wants to prove himself. Yeah, Epel’s feelings regarding this whole situation is an interesting topic, it would probably take a lot of time for him to understand what was going on inside Vil’s head back then, if he ever would understand that. He might also never forgive him, and forget pretty much everything Vil had taught him, but also start antagonising all the “girly stuff” more because now he has this negative association.

It’s also interesting to think about what would’ve happened if Vil didn’t overblot… maybe they really would have won, but also maybe Vil was already too deeply into his own head and wouldn’t express the passion needed for Rook to give him the vote. But anyway, even Vil himself accepted that it was his fault that they didn’t win, and that his overblot really exhausted everyone and made the dance worse.

Oh god, that theme for birthday cards would be insanely fun… and it’s not entirely unthinkable! Maybe I’m huffing on copium too, but I know Prince of Tennis mangaka did something similar once, and Yana used to be super into Prince of Tennis in her pre-Kuroshitsuji days, so who knows.

Thank you, Anon! <3 I love teasing Ace a little bit lol He has a lot of feelings and desires, and also a lot of inner conflict and wanting to look like he isn’t all that interested… One would say the universe would reward him for taking all those brave little steps, but somehow he really does always end up failing somehow… is it his karma for being a douche??

But honestly, I want to balance it up a little bit every now and then; I think even Ace-the-failure has his cool moments sometimes. Sometimes… But for every cool Ace moment there are a couple of moments of Ace wanting to be smooth but not being smooth at all.

You know it’s a good question because I know he probably shouldn’t, but I still can’t help but draw him with both nipples and a bellybutton. Like, Lilia is a different story, he is a bat and a mammal, but Malleus… on the other hand though, Malleus’ mom has boobs for some reason, so…

All right, these'll be some more thoughts of how Melodious as a whole is shaping up with the new Support, mostly in answer to a certain phrase I've stumbled upon.

"Still no XYZ or Synchros, huh?"

Even back then, I mostly dismissed said thoughts because it was a miracle we got something this good at all, but I put in some thought as I was working this morning. I could sum it up in a sentence, really...

In regards to tying Melodious' theme to the anime and what we wished at the time... That ship has sailed.

Simply put, whatever theme they might have had for Melodious was just halted right then, in my belief when Yuzu didn't even try to learn Synchro. And the theme simply didn't correlate with what the anime was trying to tell about Yuzu, that of being the Standard Dimension duelist, then Pendulum Dimension at the end. And the new support doesn't help much.

Despite what message the anime wanted to convey, Melodious remained a deck whose primary bosses were Fusion. And by giving Melodious a Fusion endboss which isn't even Pendulum, it's a message to me that they didn't really think of fixing that thematic clash. Rather...

The new support focuses heavily on making the current gameplan of the Deck more accessible, practical, and powerful over themes based off the anime.

And that is completely fine.

Why am I bringing up a thematic clash again? Well, let's bring up that picture I had reblogged some months ago...

Back then, I made a point about how much this image made Mozarta stick out like a sore thumb because of her mismatched association with the flower theme and dimension Yuzu's supposes to represent. I not only still stand by that, but I'd argue it's worse. Not only did they not try to put the flower theme to the Pendulum Monsters to attempt to change course on the theme, but Mozarta's sinply not played anymore because her role has been made obsolete by, ironically enough, the Pendulums themselves.

One would argue the Pendulums do strengthen that thematic connection to the anime, but they really don't change the archetype too much. They simply exist to make it exceptionally more consistent via setting themselves with ease and getting more Melodious to the field to prepare your strategy.

I simply wanted to make an observation, yet it's incorrect to linger on it for too long and complain about it. The design philosophy behind these new Cards was simply to improve the Melodious' current gameplan: a defensive strategy with light disruption bolstered by its protection, which turns into offense, removal and damage via the Battle Phase, and I believe it does so splendidly.

It's no use complaining much about the theme, even though it screams "missed opportunity". But the opportunities needed to be taken when the Anime was still airing. Who watched back then was right to expect Synchro back then but Yuzu didn't bother to learn it (because marketing), they hoped Yuzu would learn XYZ but she ended up super disconnected from it, they huffed tanks of Copium with Yuzu learning RITUALS, and they expected Pendulum from her but the main sources of Pendulum were Z-ARC, Reiji and the Pendulum Dimension. And she was moved as far away as possible by virtue of being flung away from Yuya all the time, being booted from her proposed Lancer position, and spending the whole of the show dedicated to the Pendulum Dimension stuck WHO KNOWS WHERE.

As I've said, the ship has sailed. The designers decided to bolster what was of the Melodious archetype, instead of introducing what could have been, and that's fine. Sure, a Pendulum Mozarta with a bit more of a flowery theme or dress would be SPLENDID, but so was the support we got. It all makes me more hopeful for the future!

tea + the future of the cprimeboys in vol2?

Okay, I am huffing MAJOR copium right here, but I think there may be a chance we can keep the c!Primeboys dynamic we know and love, AND get the Boy Who Cried Wolf arc we got a taste for before the full course was yanked away from us.

Long before people even floated around the idea of a Vol. 2, there's been fics and ideas floating around the fandom of what would happen if the world completely reset (from, for example, a nuke), yet a couple characters retained their memories while the others had collective amnesia (you know, like half the server has already). Oftentimes, c!Primeboys would be the few to remember, or at least one of the two would, creating an interesting twist to their dynamic as the world started anew. If this IS how Vol. 2 canonically starts out, it would be very easy for c!Dream to use this to his advantage, as no one other than him and c!Tommy would have the knowledge of the past, and thus no one would remember why c!Dream can't be trusted. c!Dream could easily spin the Boy Who Cries Wolf story for the other characters and convince them that c!Tommy's just being dramatic and/or lying to cause chaos, all the while working toward the same goal he presented in the Disc War Finale: absolute control of the server.

Even though I have doubt this is where they'll go with it, I do think it's an option because it releases the other streamers from their previous characters' restrictions, therefore removing any blocks cc!Primeboys may have to share their story. Plus, I don't think cc!Dream plans on rescinding his role as a villain in the story, so there is hope, no matter how small it may seem.

(And if they don't, I've had plans to write my own version of the Boy Who Cried Wolf arc since the prison break. It's interactive though, so it's just a matter of waiting for my co-writer's schedule to free up enough to get the train rolling. Once it does though, it's going to be a lot of fun. ;) )
