Transformers Earthspark: Another Place, Another Prison

Holy shite there were so, SO many things I wanted to draw pertaining to this chapter, but drawing was being so fragging hard omg ;-; sooo this got the vibes decently enough at least hopefully llol

aaaaannnd it's a Hashtag POV chapter again! :D

She's really trying to pinpoint how the heck she feels about this junk (def difficult tryna navigate the psych issues round here), and you just might be able to guess what she lands on. Star is still not having the greatest of time, but Hashtag is here to read his aft like a book yet again. For the most part at least.

Chapter 16: A Game Of Charades

Hashtag had hoped that the game night with Starscream could go better this time around. They’d had fun training together at least. They were all kinda starting to get along. Sharing music, cat videos, comics, their favorite wrestling channel–even Thrash was starting to warm up to this whole thing! Though he DID constantly try and do some silly schemes to test the sketchy seeker, the vibes weren’t malicious or anything. It was starting to feel just a bit normal again. As normal as it could be anyway. So what was the deal?

Why did Bee and Screamer have to get into some stupid fight? Now? Why was he acting all extra weird, this time?

Hashtag squinted her optics at her teacher and…potential second teacher if he stopped being dumb; while leaning her face against a servo.

“C’mon Starscream!” Bee tossed his servos in the air in exasperation at the ordeal. “You can’t hide in there just because you don’t want to lose in Uno again! It’s not THAT bad!”

Starscream was gripping the edge of the entrance to his room, and glaring like he was imagining blasting Bee’s face off. The thought made Hashtag tense. “No! That is NOT what I am afraid of you fool!” He jabbed a digit at Bee. Now…he did actually look oddly on edge come to think of it. “Enjoy your ridiculous games, and leave me out of it! Don’t try to act like my absence will be some tragedy. I’m sure all will go far smoother without–” His optics flickered with some weird mix of red and purple in them–kind of energon-ish color? That was new–and he held his head as his wings went all spazzy. 

Bee tried to reach out but was smacked away. “Dude. Look. I don’t know if you fell in love with isolating yourself after your months of alone time in the Titan, but as your redemption officer, you GOTTA get out of there.”

Starscream ignored him and disappeared deeper into his hole in the wall. Bumblebee tried to follow, and Hashtag couldn’t hear the rest of their conversation, but it only seemed to be going in circles anyway. Bee was wrong though…Starscream has hated being alone since he’d come here. The only time she’d seen him going to hide away like this was when it seemed his social battery had been depleted like Nightshade. 

Something was really off about this. Was that corruption junk just getting to him more today? What even WAS that anyway? She still hadn’t found the right chance to ask him about it! Most of her siblings have assumed he went a bit crazy from chaos magic, being by himself with corpses he convinced himself weren’t actually dead, and that was all it was. That made sense enough, but something about it still didn’t feel right.

Eventually, Bee came back looking a mix of annoyed and concerned as he took his seat next to Dad. “He won’t listen to me.”

“What a shame.” Robby said with poorly masked sarcasm, which earned him a punch in the shoulder from Mo. “What??”

“You know what.” She crossed her arms with a tip of her head back. Mo’s signature sass at their brother would be more funny if Hashtag wasn’t so anxious right now. 

Mom leaned forward and raised a hand in a signal for them to knock it off when they’d started a staring contest. “I’m sure he’s fine. We gotta allow him the freedom to choose what he wants to do. You can’t force it, Bee.”

Bee sighed with a servo over his optics. “Yeah. You’re right. It’s just kinda my job, and all.”

Dad patted his arm reassuringly. “And you’re doing great! How ‘bout we kick the night off with some charades huh? You can be on our team!”

Bee smiled. “Alright alright.”

“The party ain’t stoppin’ for any grumpy ol’ bot!” Twitch cheered in an effort to heighten the mood as she brought forth the bowl of prompts.

Yet as they started the game with Dad rapidly throwing out guesses to Bee’s word, Hashtag’s focus just kept drifting back to Starscream. Sure, they could just leave him alone, but she had a sneaking suspicion that wasn’t actually what he wanted either. He always tried to play up the tough guy scrap, and she wasn’t buying it. Maybe she could try and talk to him. It was worth a shot, right?

Hashtag pulled Twitch aside and signaled for her to keep her voice down.

“What’s up sis? You doin’ alright?”

“Yeah! Totally…Um.” Hashtag fiddled with her digits as she parsed together how to go about this. “I’m just thinking about going over to check on Starscream. I don’t wanna bug Bee or Mom about it though. I think he might come out if I'm the one to talk to him. Or at least–I just don’t like not knowing what’s going on, y’know? So…can you fill the fam in after I bounce?” She gave her sister a pleading grin. She didn’t want to just announce her plan to everyone and potentially make Bee feel bad, or Mom to just deny her from doing it. 

Twitch looked back at the others before landing her rather serious gaze back into Hashtag’s optics, and flew closer to put a servo to her shoulder. “Tag, you know I trust you.” 

Hashtag cringed, “Please don’t let there be a “but” at the end of that sentence…”

Twitch snickered a bit. “Nah…I just want you to be careful. Send me a signal as soon as something wack starts going down. We don’t need that con tryna randomly use you as a hostage or something. Soooo I guess the only but would be–are you sure you don’t want me to come with you for backup?”

She thought about the offer for a moment. It would be nice to know Twitch was there to have her back. Screamer could still be pretty creepy sometimes, even if he seemed to be getting better. But if he’s already in anti-people mode right now, less people would probably be better. Plus, He always seemed to be extra…careful (?) when it came to Hashtag. Like…he felt bad about what happened. She didn’t know why he directed it more at her than her siblings, but she could still use that to her advantage. Twitch might just make things more complicated when she’d inevitably get protective, unfortunately.

“Yeah, I’m sure. I’ll be careful, I promise. I’ll text ya updates if he doesn’t immediately kick me out.” She chuckled. Hopefully that won’t happen, but even if he tried, she was determined to not be deterred so easily.

“You better! Your big sis worries you know!”

“A little bit too much sometimes,” Tag teased. 

Twitch flipped down a servo with a roll of her helm. “Pff, I worry the perfect amount. Now get on over there before I think about this too hard, and I’ll fill the fam in after Mo and Thrash finish their turn.” 

“Thanks sis.” They exchanged a thumbs up and split off to fill their prospective rolls.

Hashtag made her way over to Starscream’s room, suddenly feeling more hesitant the closer she got. The ceiling stars inside were set to night mode from the cycle Nightshade had set for them, but it gave more of a spooky sort of lighting that didn’t help. Especially when his optics and those weird sparks stuck out in the dark.

It’d be fine though, it was just Starscream. Not like he’d killed people, kidnapped dads, or anything. Besides, she knew how to get to him. She knew he wouldn’t do anything crazy. Oh Quintus, did she?! She hadn’t thought he’d do that other insane junk before either! Maybe this was a bad idea after all–no. No. It’d be fine. He’s been chill. He’s actually been kinda nice. There’s nothing to worry about!

Hashtag took a deep breath to steady herself, and knocked on the doorframe to announce herself. “Hey–”

Starscream jerked in a similar way he’d done when she first went to see him in the brig (he was even sitting on the floor for some reason), and snapped. “WHAT? Oh…Hashtag.” His wings relaxed a bit when he realized who it was, but then immediately tensed when he seemed to notice something else as well. “NOT helpful you slagging–ugh…” He muttered and pinched the bridge of his nose as he clenched his optics shut. “You shouldn’t be here. Go back to your siblings.” That part actually seemed to be directed at her, even if he seemed to be avoiding looking in her direction now. 

Why did she keep having that feeling that he was talking to someone else?

Hashtag drifted deeper into the room towards the edge of his berth as she crossed her arms. “I think I’m good here, actually. Oooorrr, you could always come out of here with me, and do something way more fun than sitting there being weird.”

He went silent for a while. He kept being all twitchy, and when he finally opened his optics again he just stared blankly at something in the corner. When she sat down on the berth near him, Starscream skooched a bit away from her. He seemed to be having a heck of a time figuring out how to respond to that, with how hard he apparently needed to think about it. She couldn’t exactly tell if the fact that he wasn’t telling her off meant that he did in fact want her company or not. 

Hashtag had gotten better at waiting though. Even if the suspense was killing her. She wanted to ask so many questions, get to the bottom of why he was acting so funky, but she also didn’t want to overwhelm him. When she was in anxiety mode, questions were definitely the last thing she’d want, after all.

“You don’t want me there. Admit it.” Starscream finally said quietly, only barely glancing in her direction. He sounded…sad. 

“Don’t try and feed me lines Screamy, I’m the director around here,” She put a hand to her chest with dramatic flare, “and I in fact do want you there with us! Megs had his redemption arc, and I’m here for yours! We’ve been having a decent time hanging out these past couple weeks haven’t we? I will admit no such falsehoods! Even if you are still a bit of a jerk.”

Starscream dawned a somber smile. “Hah. Right…You know, you and Thundercracker would have been quite the pair to behold. He’d always adored script writing and those absurd novelas.” His wings spazzed again with a bit of lightning as he started tapping one of his digits. Something about that train of thought had his focus start to go into the abyss again. 

Hashtag leaned a bit forward as she fiddled with her own servos. “Really? Who’s that? He sounds pretty cool!” 

“Yes…” Starscream blinked after taking another long moment to elaborate. “He was Skywarp and I’s trinemate before Novastorm joined us from the Rainmakers. He was a strong, albeit sensitive, seeker. We did not always see optic to optic, but I suppose I could relent to the fact that he was certainly better at orchestrating dialogue. Even so, it was often idealistic or fantastical nonsense. Something I am sure you would’ve been enthralled by had you two been allowed such a partnership. He’d always dreamed of making something of his work after the war…” His expression had gone from detached to angry when another flit of those sparks went through him. He growled as his volume rose and his optics flashed red. “Of course, such frivolous slag could NEVER be allowed to come to fruition! Why would it?!” 

Hashtag leaned back a bit, “Did something bad happen to him? Is he stuck on Cybertron or…?”

“He’s dead.”

“Oh.”

Silence.

Man. Hashtag really did NOT have the credentials for this. Should she just focus on being all positive about it? Change the topic? Or, giving condolences was usually the right response in these scenes. 

“I-I’m sorry you lost your…” Was a trinemate kinda like family? “Brother? I would’ve loved to meet ‘im. Thundercracker sounds like he was a pretty awesome dude. Maybe I could dedicate a character to him someday! Is…that why you’re avoiding family time? It sounds like you miss him.”

“...No.”

Well that was a lie. Starscream was avoiding eye-contact again, and according to the internet, that was the biggest indicator someone’s lying. Plus, he still was all droopy like a wet cat. Maybe seeing Hashtag and her siblings hanging out together just made him feel bad about missing his own siblings. Skywarp had left him behind on that ship too after all–oh man he had fam issues. Is that what got him so upset?

But he kept tensing up like there was something else too. Now his eyes were…purple? The purple thing was DEFINITELY new. 

Oh, now they’re back to blue–scrap they went red glitchy again! Now he’s covering his audials and muttering something. What the heck!

Geez, he’s shaking really bad now. Was it something she’d said? Was this some type of anxiety episode she was supposed to snap him out of? What was the best way to do that?? When she did a quick search, it just said to be a persistent, calm force. Don’t be pushy. Ask for permission to touch them. Oh! Remind them of their surroundings! Maybe she could reference the Seekerz poster that he ripped up? Or maybe he did it for trigger reasons…so that probably wouldn’t be a good idea.

Hashtag slowly disconnected from the berth to kneel down next to him, but not too close. “Hey…Just focus on my voice right now, okay? I don’t know what you’re hearing right now–if it’s a flashback or something–but we’re just in the bunker. We’re chillin’ on the floor in your room, and nothing crazy is going on. We can talk about something else if you want.”

Starscream abruptly threw his arm out to aim across the room as a surge of the lightning went through it. His servo retracted to channel the sketchy power into a blaster and shot an intense laser at the wall that, once he stopped blasting it, left a huge, smoldering hole. Wheeljack’s parole thing on his ped let out an EMP burst that made him recoil in on himself again with a startled yelp. A final shot from his servo flew past Hashtag’s helm before he managed to fix it back to normal. 

“WOAH!” She dodged back in surprise at the sudden outburst.

He finally locked eyes with her again, and he looked horrified. Starscream fumbled away from her with the EMP blasted leg seeming to be offline now when he full-on fell backwards after trying to stand. “Get out.”

“What?” But she was trying to help! Why did this have to be so hard!? He obviously shouldn’t be alone right now, right?

“GET OUT!” Starscream actually aimed his gun arm at her as it was shaking and sparking wildly.

Hashtag shot up to her peds and put her servo’s up placatingly. “Hey! C’mon–” 

Twitch sent her a message that popped across her visor: [Is everything alright over there?? What was that?! Are you okay?!]

She frantically sent back a response: [I’m fine! I think- Just give me a sec!] 

“I know you don’t actually want me to leave–you’re in freakout mode, and that’s okay!” Hashtag tried to stay as still as possible and watched the blaster carefully in case he actually did shoot at her. “How about I just step out for a sec to grab a game we can play one on one or something? Y’know, get your mind off of whatever this is–do you like chess?? You seem like the kinda guy that likes chess.”

Starscream didn’t say anything else, and was just staring right through her. Creepy…He seemed to have a lot of space-out moments. Did he even hear what she said…?

Hashtag slowly began backing up towards the door. “I’ll be riiiight back. Just be cool. Okay? Yeah.” She flipped out her wheels and quickly rolled over back to her fam. 

Twitch immediately flew up to check her over, “What happened?”

Bee was up and looking in Starscream’s direction as a shot of red lighting flew out and hit their skate ramp. “What’s with THAT?? Hashtag, you shouldn’t have gone over there without someone watching your back, what if–”

“GUYS. It’s okay! I got it.” Hashtag rolled past them to look for their bigger chess set. “He’s having a bit of a moment, but he wasn’t actually trying to hurt me or anything. It’s just that corruption junk or something.”

“Sweetie,” Mom started softly but her undertone was stern, “We don’t know enough about what the stone did to him, or how unstable that power is. You CAN’T put yourself in the line of fire like that. Leave him be and join us over here.”

Bee nodded, “You should listen to your mom, Hashtag. He already told me off, it’d be best to leave it alone for now.”

 Hashtag moved aside their tic-tac-toe pieces and found the chess box. She hesitated there for a moment with her servos held firmly around its edges. Were they right? Should she just let it go? He did seem pretty upset…but that could be even more reason for her to go back in! She wasn’t afraid of him, she could handle it. He’d seemed way too freaked out about almost hitting her for him to actually want to hurt her directly. 

Twitch hovered behind her, “Tag, you gave it a shot, and I know you really want to fix it, but it isn’t your responsibility to do that alone.”

Hashtag lifted the box and turned to pass her sister on her way back towards the seeker. “I know. And I’m not alone. You guys are still right here if anything actually happens, right? I’m sorry, but I really can’t just leave it and be fine with that. I’d just be thinking about it the whole time I’d be tryna play the games with you guys, and that wouldn’t be fun…So I was thinking I could try and bring game night to him! Just us so maybe it won’t be too overwhelming, but still have something to focus on. I might not be the best at chess, but it seemed like something he’d like more than the luck based things.”

“...That makes sense.” Mo nodded with a casual show of support. “Right mom? Maybe Starscream’s just a wacky introvert.”

Mom sighed. “Fine. I’m proud of you baby, but…just be careful.” Man, everyone keeps acting like Starscream was gonna rip out her spark or something. Hashtag was supposed to be the drama queen around here.

Bee also didn’t seem too thrilled, yet still seemed to understand as he hesitantly sat back down. “Call for backup as soon as there’s more of that lighting stuff. Alright?”

Hashtag flipped out her wheels again to roll backwards and give him a short salute, “Loud and clear!”

“Text me updates!” Twitch called with an extended servo as it was definitely taking a lot for her to let Hashtag go a second time without her.

“I will!” She sang back as she slid in front of Starscream’s doorway. It was sweet how much they were concerned for her, but also a bit silly. Second chances were all about giving that person the benefit of the doubt, but she still knew how to be careful. They had nothing to worry about.

Hashtag slowly entered the room again, popping back out her peds to ready herself just in case he reactively shot her way. Starscream had his servos to his helm again, and his non-booted ped was rapidly bouncing up and down like he was itching to get up and pace. He seemed to be trying to regulate his breathing and muttering different things about the room like those grounding techniques she had shown him. Huh…he actually did keep it in mind. 

“Heyyy, it’s me again.”

His attention immediately whipped her way, but he hesitated like he was calculating what exactly he wanted to say. The fact that she could practically see the equations floating around his head, almost made her laugh. But this was definitely not the appropriate time for that, no matter how hilarious the image was.

Hashtag took the opportunity to creep up closer and sit down across from him as she set down the box. She opened it, and began setting it up with the black pieces on his side while she took white. It was not only kinda funny with the good-guy bad-guy coding, but also a sneaky way of stealing the first move. She’d need to teach him how to play anyway, so it also just made more sense that way.

Starscream was watching her every move closely. That was better than staring into the void. Then even though it really seemed like he wanted to say something–maybe apologize–he kept getting stuck somehow. 

“Okay, so, the gist of this game is that you’re trying to take out your opponent's king before they get yours. First pawn can go two spaces forward, then they can only move one, and they attack diagonally. Rooks go in any straight line until they hit something. Knights do this weird L move. Bishops go diagonally until they hit something. The Queen can basically do literally anything the other pieces can. And the king can move any direction one space.” Hashtag picked up each piece to give a short display of their moves. “He’s more of the damsel in distress with his absolute unit of a kick butt queen! Then, if you completely lock someone in a death grip where there’s no way they can save their king, you call out Checkmate. There’s a bunch of gambits and stuff, but this is more of Nightshade and Twitch’s sort of game honestly. I like to play more casually than worrying about doing a research project for it. I already had to help Twitch with that once when she got WAY too into it. Then Nightshade just always wins. So I’m good at taking the loss if it’ll make you feel better.”

“You shouldn’t be concerned about “making me feel better”, Hashtag.” He finally said something. Starscream was looking down at the board as he took in the rules she’d just thrown at him. No more weird lightning. That was good.

“Well, deal with it.” She retorted casually as she shoved the empty box out of their way. “I know you wanna push everyone away and stuff ‘cause you think everyone’s gonna leave you first, but there will be none of that on my watch! Not everyone sucks, and you can figure out how to not suck too.”

“Hm. Fair enough.”

Hashtag moved her first pawn, “Your turn.”

He actually moved his knight first. Nightshade did that sometimes. She always thought that moving one of the middle pawns was better though. But maybe she was just biased.

They continued though the game silently for a while, then Hashtag got a ping from Twitch. 

[You doing alright? How’s the game going?]

[Yeah we’re chill. I have no idea who’s winning rn lol. Wbu guys?]

[Bee, Dad and Mom are about to destroy us in Pictionary. Apparently they got adult sync mode on or something.]

[Looolll I don’t think that’s a thing. It’s probs mainly cuz Dad is so Bee obsessed that he has like, a plus five mod to his perception on anything Bee related.]

[That’s so unfair.]

“Fullstasis.” Starscream’s monotonous delivery snapped her from her visor conversation. 

“What?”

“Checkmate. Whatever it is. Your…king, is cornered. On one side by this bishop, and the other by the rook behind your knight.”

She stared blankly at the board, “Aw dang it! How’d I not see that?!”

“You were distracted. Plus, I baited you to take my queen, which left you exposed.”

“What the heck man. Aaalllright fine, I’ll reset the board.”

[I’ll ttyl, he already checkmated me somehow, you tellin me about unfair]

[lol, maybe he cheated when you weren’t looking.]

Hashtag rolled her eyes and minimized her chat bubble. She would have noticed him cheating. Maybe…No, she definitely would have. She hadn’t been THAT distracted.

Once the pieces were back in their original places, she moved the same pawn she did the first time. It might seem silly, but unleashing the queen from her pawn-y prison always took priority in Hashtag’s book. Besides, that pawn was obviously the main character, destined to reach the other side on their mission to be the queen's successor should she fall in battle for her king. A thrilling narrative could easily take the bored out of any board game.

Alas, as soon as the brave pawn reached their goal and was set to avenge the queen’s untimely demise, they were struck down by the dark king’s cursed knight. She made their death scene as dramatic as possible, of course. Lifting them up and down from their final square as they reached for the heavens.

“This will not be the last you see of ME! I will rise again as many times as it takes to defeat you, not even death will keep me from taking my revenge!”

Starscream chuckled, “Oh, I am counting on it.”

“Pff, you’ve had better monologues than that.” Hashtag placed the briefly royal pawn to the side, and moved her rook to take his bishop.

“Please. I wasn’t even attempting to supply one. Couldn’t such a rivalry between your odd characters be far more interesting if neither truly wanted it to end?” He took her rook with a pawn. Worth it. That bishop was being far too shady.

She shrugged as she moved another one of her own pawns in an effort to defend. “I guess so. But it’d have to end at some point, no story can go on forever. Ooo, maybe it’d be an enemies to lovers arc!”

“Eugh. No.” He moved his knight to some really weird spot that didn’t seem like it was going to do anything.

“It’d be glorious! It’s like the soulmate trope, where they’re destined to meet and stuff, but instead they’re locked in a reincarnation loop! They’re bound to get over whatever got them mad at each other eventually.” She swooped down her bishop in a position ready to take down his king. 

He immediately canceled her plot with some stupid rook from the other side of the board. “That’s absurd.”

“Okay, fun police. Fantasy doesn’t have to be realistic, Screamy.” Hashtag kicked over his rook with her knight. 

Starscream stared at the board for a long time, before finally moving his queen in range of her king and announcing, “Checkmate.” Again.

“You are way too good at this game for being a noob.”

“Its base principals are actually quite similar to Fullstasis. Skyfire and I used to play any chance we could.” He actually began resetting the pieces himself this time. “So I suppose I am not as inexperienced as you first thought. Surely you have merely been holding back on me.”

“Yeeaaah, tooootally! I’m DEFINITELY going to get you this round, just you watch me!” She was so going to lose. Hashtag had thought that she’d at least be on a more even playing field since it was his first time, but of course he just had to have Cybertronian chess stuff with whoever Skyfire was. They were probably a Decepticon and they played it for war strategies, or something stupidly serious like that with how much of a stiff he was.

The next game went on ridiculously similar to the last two, and it looked like it was going to end the same way. Until Starscream suddenly said she won. That his king was doomed and he was no match for her full power. That didn’t make any sense. How did he notice she won before she did? That wasn’t how it was supposed to work! Did he…LET her win? Usually he hated losing. 

Hashtag confidently accepted his proclamation of her awesomeness. She wasn’t going to call him out on it. Yet it was adorable to think how much of a softy the Decepticon actually was.

A bunch more games passed by with a few close-ish ones, him destroying her, then letting her win others. When suddenly, all the squares aligned as she called out checkmate, and he looked surprised. He actually stared at the board with what looked to be unadulterated disbelief this time, and she started to get worried that he was about to get mad and flip the board or something. But then he laughed, and congratulated her in a far more genuine way than his theatrical applause from before. Like he was proud of her. Wow.

He really was just a big ball of mush under all that ridiculous, evil mastermind scrap after all.

Hrrrggg everything hurts. Thinking about the MegOP sparkling (I need names, but am thinking about naming her Stronghold) I’ve had rattling around in brain for the past month or so, so here goes, continuity soup because I said so. This is… a long one 😅

So we start with the usual pre war MegOP situation with Gladiator Megs and Archivist Orion, who go talk to the high council and yadah yadah, you know what happens next. (think TFP) OP gets the Matrix and Megatron is betrayed and starts up his intergalactic terrorist group (yippee!) When he finds out, Uh-Oh! He carrying and it’s Optimus’s… he freaks out pretty hard but WaveWave is there to support him during his pregnancy (Soundwaves a bit jealous about not being the one who’s currently carrying but is excited to see/raise a new spark). Eventually he has the baby and there are a few.. complications.

1. Sparklings are supposed to have strong bonds with their carrier and sire, but in Strongholds case, they have no sire bond with Optimus (the matrix prevented it), which causes her to have spark flutters (essentially heart problems) causing the little one lots of pain with no exception of expressing it but crying/being a fussy baby while she’s young. The only was they find this out is with Soundwaves telepathy, something they are VERY grateful for.

2. Megatron suffers from GREATLY from postpartum depression, and can’t even bear to look at his daughter. He can bring himself to feed her or try to establish any type of bond between the two and ends up hating her and what she stands for in his mind (having OP and trying to have a family with him)

This causes the young heiress to be raised by the deception high command with very little input on Megatrons behalf besides being an abusive mom and wanting her to be a warrior. She’s mainly being raised by Wavewave, the elite trine and Hook due to having to be in the med bay almost constantly in her sparkling hood. As a sparkling she showed major talent and interests in the arts, something that was supported by their caregivers, but almost gets beaten to death by Megatron finds out she wants to be an artist and not a warrior. (Megatron has “training” sessions with her, where she essentially gets beaten half to death but her carrier, who claims it’ll make her stronger. And when she’s finally able to beat him, she’ll be able to lead the decepticons) (this also leads to her hiding her passions) This is how she wins over Starscream and he decides to help raise/guide her (and who knows, maybe one day he or she will kill Megatron and he’ll be the leader of the decepticons) She’s raised to be a master spy (Soundwave) and interrogator/torturer (Shockwave and Starscream). Eventually though the war starts to pick up and everyone is headed to earth (think G1, but shockwave goes with the decepticons) leaving Stronghold alone on Cybertron with Rumble, Buzzsaw, Thundercraker, and the Constructicons to watch/take care of her; and her mentor Tarn (and the rest of the DJD) and a few other decepticons at about ~10 years old to Cybertronian standards. She finds herself forced to grow up and lead the Decepticons, being raised by the most ruthless and cunning bots has its advantages, and she ends up quickly taking out the Autobots on Cyberton leading the planet under Decepticon rule. However there was complications with the others (G1 style, went missing for a few billion years type-beat) She grows up a warlord, conquering Autobot territory’s and wiping them out, searching for her lost family comrades, with the Deceptions ruling the galaxy, (exterminating the Autobots and making allies with/converting Neutrals). She’s ends up creating a vast and powerful empire (Thundercraker, Hook and Tarn are very proud).

On earth is the normal G1 -> Earthspark timeline, expect I ignore everything that happens after s1. Soundwave manages to get a SOS comm into deep space, which gets intercepted to the Decepticon empire. This happens around/a little after her spark almost gave out, as her carrier/sparkling bond was broken with Megatron, which was assumed to be due to his death. This made her spark unstable, and made her even more vulnerable to her spark attacks (also her occasional maniac episodes go worse/more common) She leads a ship to Earth where she finds that not only is her carrier ALIVE, which means he LEFT her HE DOESNT WANT HER HE NEVER WANTED HER- but also joined the enemy. And started a new family, one without her This is also how she and Optimus find out they’re related, because honestly, Meg’s forgot all about her. (Also, megaton has more of a major role in the Terran’s lives, which leaves Stronghold seething, swearing to end them) ((You know when/how Megatrons calls Twitch “little bird”? THAT USED TO BE HER NICKNAME SHE USED TO BE HIS LITTLE BIRD WHEN HE WAS HAPPY WITH HER)) (think of when shockwave was racist towards the Terran’s) Stronghold finds out that the decepticons have been stranded on earth, and have been being tortured by Autobots and their human allies (GHOST). She stages a jailbreak for the others and begins to plan war with the others left on earth (she’s not leaving until Megatrons head is on a platter and she’s ripped the matrix out of OP’s chest). (They chill in the atmosphere like the Nemesis in prime) Needless to say, Shockwave Soundwave and Starscream are very surprised/proud to see her and her accomplishments (if not sad that she (now about 15) had to grow up so fast and what has happened to her)

There are a few ways this AU can end and there’ll prolly be a few alt timelines… 👀

Thrash first time meeting his best friends is when the Malto adopted him. Robby and Mo aren’t just his siblings but his best friends.

HOWEVER! Thrash was ecstatic to meet JB. They are connected to each other through an emotional bond and became friends quickly.

8) First time they took a risk, or the biggest risk they've ever taken

Teaching herself how to fly. None of the autobots fly, Wheeljack tried his best to help her but unfortunately he wasn’t successful at teaching something he doesn’t know. She had to learn herself, and with a lot of practice (and being a bit of an extremist.) she got it.

14) First time facing their fears

Slipstream isn’t necessarily scared of concepts she is instead more scared of certain people. She is afraid of Megatron most of all. She most of the time stayed out of his way. But When Megatron was going to kill Starscream she couldn’t stand by. She shielded Starscream with her body, this decision could have killed her but instead Megatron spared Starscream. She still got hit but at least her dad is alive, though he probably wished he was dead during the beating. Though she faced Megatron she is still scared.

18) First example of real character growth along their journey

(SMALL RANT. I am very upset on the treatment of Nightshade by both the fandom and the writers, l wont start on my issues with the fandom cause those issues aren’t relevant here. I wanted so desperately for Nightshade to be an actual character, and for season one they were but after that it was just over, no more problems, no more contemplating issues. Unfortunately like most Lgbtq characters, they are turned into a place holder, just a box to check on the pandering list. It seems like now nightshade is just the person with the remote that fixes everything, part of the reason why I like Earthspark Expeditions is Nightshades dialogue when you screw up. Nightshade pull no punches on making you feel bad, which is something that happened to me a lot cause I was really bad at those side quests. But even though they weren’t a playable character they still felt like more then a place holder, that bot can be sassy. And I loved it. But alas, it’s probably too much to expect a company to make actual Lgbtq characters like normal character. Regardless I feel like it is important to include lgbtq characters in media)

ANYWAY!! Nightshade came online and was alone, they saw the decepticons destroying everything/ some decepticons seeing Nightshade as vermin and the Autobots fighting back in a brutal way. They recognized that they were a similar species to the cybertronians but renounce they’re ferocity and brutal ways. Nightshade also learn the hard way that humans aren’t that different either. Feeling alone and confused about the world around them, they decided they would just live solitary. Until that option wasn’t available anymore due to the decepticons. Nightshade left with no better option followed Twitch to the Autobot base. Nightshade was stand-offish and sometimes mean. Throughout they’re adventures they learn that the Autobots are here to protect them and may not be right all the time but are trying. Nightshade connected with Bumblebee, they have many similarities. Nightshade also come to sympathies with some cons as well. Nightshade wants gets inspired to want things to change in peaceful way… there has to be a way.

20) First time they felt accepted/welcomed by another character

Hashtag had to be rescued from a M.E.C.H base. Being forced to fight both autobots and decepticons, She was very confused, aggressive and didn’t really know anything. She did know the bots she had an emotional connection with were apart of her in some ways and could be trusted. She didn’t really like humans either, so when Thrash took all the Terrans back to the Malto home she stay around the woods near their home.

It took lots of time but the Terrans as a collective brought her out of her shell and made her feel safe. They told her that technically she was the reason they all were together now. They may have never met if she didn’t call to them.

21) First major change in their life, and how they dealt with it

Jawbreaker leaving the decepticons. He had too. He needed to go find what was calling to him. But that wasn’t the only reason. He knew Megatron is wrong, maybe he was right a long time ago but now it’s wrong. Jb barely understands anything about the War but he has seen people get hurt, he’s been hurt.

Jb took a risk and left without looking back. He mostly keeps to himself about his decision but sometimes struggles with it and wants to go back. He’s not dealing with it too good, but he’s got his siblings to lean on when he needs it. He just hopes those he left behind are doing ok.

D) First kiss

After a couple of dates and Jazz egging Prowl on. Prowl went to kiss him, unfortunately there was more then his nerves getting in the way.

A personal series I have which has OOTALS AND OOTALS of of world building that I am proud of. I love this story and I’ve had it for years, probably one of the early stories I’ve made. It’s called Wolfram.

spoilers for transformers earthspark (up to ep5) after the cut!!!

so I started watching earthspark and i have EMOTIONS abt it but mainly i'm looking much too far into the interactions between Bumblebee and Optimus and humming in thought

okay so! i'm gonna start off with the characters- Robbie and Mo are very good siblings- even with their faults, which just makes them look like even more accurate siblings- and I like them both a lot! Dot and Alex- we haven't seen them as much, but both of them are really fun! Alex's interactions with Bumblebee are absolutely hilarious as much as they're fandomish, and Dot doing her best to hold her family together- as weird as it's getting- is (impressively) working! All around strong human cast, at least for me! (Schloder is a tentative maybe. don't know enough about him yet but he's kinda a clown)

Twitch and Thrash!!!!! i!!! love them!!!! twitch is lowkey more my favorite (her personality and colors and vibes beseech me) but thrash is also a decently respectable transformer! they're both trying their best and making mistakes and working to fix them. it very much reads as two young people not knowing anything about the world and working it all out, and in general i love that! it has led to a teensy bit of annoyance (HELLO WHEN BOTH YOUR MOM AND YOUR WAR VETERAN MENTOR SAY MAYBE SWINDLE ISNT TRUSTWORTHY MAYBE THAT MEANS SOME TRUST?) but i also know that them experiencing that broken trust leads to the greater understanding of the Difference between the decepticon (only one as far as i know) that's redeemed vs the many others that haven't been

bumblebee!! i'm very much intrigued in this version- he seems older, which his design kinda helps to convey! the more almond-shaped eyes, the all around boxier shape- even with the more rounded shapes that he does have- he just reads as more of a young adult than a teen in this version, which i'm up for!!

but then with bumblebee there's also (what i'm guessing) is a s t r a i n e d relationship with optimus- which is (afaik) the first time we've seen bumblebee and optimus with a strained/not close relationship

i mean. bumblebee's very first episode he was in consisted of:

called out of hiding after who knows how long

being assigned to teach two literal newsparks how to be Cybertronian

him having to adjust to civilian life in the timespan of a day

him having to adjust to being a *celebrity*

him having to adjust to living *with people*

him having to save the life of a kid he was trusted with

and ALL of that was without a support system! bumblebee tried reaching out to Optimus, multiple times! the first time he tried to get help from Megatron- admittedly, he just never got a shot to use that advice, so that gets a pass- but the second time when Elita was on the call? she gave him vague advice, and then hung up on him when he started venting about it. like he hadn't been thrown into a completely alien (to him) situation and was, understandably, struggling. (i also think it's weird that megatron and elita didn't tell optimus that bumblebee called? like you'd think they let him know about the scout HE put on a mission struggling a bit with it

and then episode 5!! bumblebee called optimus! 28 times! 2 8 t i m e s!!! with information that could endanger the kids! and optimus waved it away with 'i was in orientation' LIKE BRO? if your highly capable Scout that's fought in a W a r is calling you that many times, i feel like you quietly step away from orientation and call back to find out what's going on???? why would you just ignore that??? what optimus has essentially done is throw bee into the deep end and toss a booklet of how to build a diy life preserver and i personally am VERY INTERESTED to see where the show takes it. bc i absolutely feel like their relationship is NOT where it normally is in transformers media (which is interesting! a fun change of pace)

either way, you also have the fact that bumblebee says that the Maltos is the first time he's felt part of a team in a long time. how long has he been in hiding? if not too long... how long has he not felt to be part of Optimus' team? how long has it been?

Starscream! Armada, G1, IDW, Earthspark, any and all you wanna discuss.

As luck would have it, I actually know all of those Starscreams, lol. Only familiar one not listed is TFP (if you lump Energon in with Armada).

Hey, Bingo.

Just gonna touch on/quantify a few of these...

I am so normal about them: Starscream is my criterion for engaging with almost any media. I almost never touch anything until I know what happens to him in the end (EarthSpark is the exception - someone talked me into watching episode 8 and I grudgingly became invested).

Everyone else is wrong about them: So many. So many people write Starscream as ludicrously vain and/or the most thoughtless, selfish partner ever. Starscream, who claimed to have circled half the globe looking for Skyfire, and who had absolutely nothing to gain by lying about how hard he searched. He might not be the easiest person to get close to, but this mech cares deeply when he does care (and then there's IDW, but we don't talk about IDW). Also, specific to Armada Starscream: when people make him super sad and in need of saving because he's so abused. That is a mech who deals with pain by getting angry, and he canonically escaped the abuse on his own - the Autobots gave him a place to stay for a while, and they contributed to his emotional growth, but it was ultimately Starscream who broke the hold Megatron had over him. And it annoys me when people distill his abuse to a standard savior trope (honestly, Starscream rarely gets enough agency in abuse recovery fics in general, but it hits differently with Armada).

The fandom is so mean: Pretty much every version of Starscream is perfectly competent when he's given the chance to be (I will die on the hill that Starscream is the only Decepticon in TFP who actually gets things done. Soundwave doesn't count because his talents are wasted on Megatron's obsessions). But you constantly see people using the same language to talk about him that Megatron does, and I'm like. I want to bite them.

Puts them in a salad spinner: I mean. Starscream has a rough time in my fics sometimes. Often times. But sometimes it's because of canon trauma, so it's not always my fault...

Canon isn't real if I don't look at it: Pretty sure IDW is, if not directly responsible for most of my least favorite Starscream tropes, then it certainly influenced their abundance in fanon.

They are so silly: G1 Starscream with a slingshot, and jumping on Megatron because he's so happy to be back in his proper timeline. EarthSpark Starscream getting flustered when Twitch hugs him. I'm not a fan of Starscream being relegated to comic relief, but sometimes he's just. So endearingly silly.

A Beast Unleashed: Listen. G1 Starscream can flying tackle bots much larger than him to the ground, TFP is basically feral, Armada is one of the few Starscreams who challenges Megatron and can physically hold his own, EarthSpark is willing to face down a giant monster for someone he gets attached to. Most versions have refined sarcasm to an art form. Starscream is savage and capable and deserves more opportunities to showcase his strengths instead of being torn down for his weaknesses.

I loved TFOne and thought the designs were nice, imo it’d be fun to see a show or maybe even shorts focusing on the characters used in the backgrounds. I just want to see more of them! A sequel would be amazing… I love when VAs enjoy the character they play. Skybound Jazz is fun, and Skybound is fun but some of these later issues are kinda … mid? (Not bad just average) They’re fine and the art is nice but I’m not such a big fan of the direction they’ve taken and preferred it more in the beginning.

Being a fan of obscure characters can sure be rough a?

I adore the Earthspark characters and would love to see them reappear sometime because I believe they have lots of charm. Twitch and Nightshade are maybe my favorites.

I know some female characters reappear more in IDW 2005 comics, but especially when it comes to mainstream stories I would like to see them (´ｰ｀) I think they have been a lot better recently in their incorporation of female characters.

Seeing a price of life Ratchet and Megatron figure would be so amazing haah

Exactly! I really like to see that most of the cast is excited about this movie and I do feel like the people who worked on it were really passionate about Transformers in general (except for the marketing team, hah)

I do like Skybound Jazz, but I don't see enough of him imo. I agree, it feels like the comic is slumping a bit (I'm going to be honest, Starscream's sad backstory did not make me care about him more.) (But Starscream is complicated for me because I see him in canon works and I'm like YES! THE BITCH! But the more fandom takes I see on him and the more sympathetic they try to make him, the less I care about him? I mean, I sympathize with him enough, but the more I see from the fandom, the more I'm tired of him idk. Love him in canon though most of the time.)

lucky I didn't procrastinated with this too much...well sometimes it really be helped, and I do know I have been doing that at times now...

Bumblebee is suppose to show that he is aging and getting older, so the one that has that arrow pointed at a different version of him, is his older self...

younger Bumblebee is from the Year 200X, and the Bigger and Older Bumblebee is from the Year 202X.

Older Bumblebee from the year 202X, is based on and inspired by Earthspark Bumblebee, but that Older-Bumblebee is the future self of TFA-Bumblebee...Older Bumblebee is possibly around almost the same height as Bulkhead, but still being a inch shorter than him.

the Gaz in this drawing is 14 years old and is playing a new handheld Game-Slave...

Chara is holding flowers and having a sad look in their eyes.

the Sari in this drawing, is not like the one from the TFA Main Timeline.

one of the things that make her different, is that she isn't just half-human & half-cybertronian...she is also half-gem.

and her Dad is Isaac Sumdac's twin brother Ivaan Sumdac.

Ivaan met and fell in love with Blue Diamond, and Blue is able to make herself a bit smaller and was able to go in The Sumdac Tower's much smaller human size rooms, such as that secret lab of Isaac's.

after finding Ivaan's brother out cold, and a liquid metal body just there...

the next ones to touch it is Ivaan and Blue Diamond at the same time...Ivaan wasn't wearing gloves, so his DNA gets absorbed by the baby protoform/hatchling.

what it does to Blue Diamond, it causes her form to glitch and her form ends up glowing in that light that Gems appear as when they reform from their gems.

the next thing that happens is that the protoform doesn't turn into a human baby at first, it shoots from the stasis pod and into the light of Blue Diamond's body, into the spot where her womb would be.

and yeah, like what Rose did when she was going to have Steven...

Blue while still glitching a bit, ends up shape shifting a womb...

her form goes back to normal, but now she looks to be about 5 months pregnant. even though it would technically be like a day, so she could of ended up being....9 or 10 months pregnant, before she gives up her physical form to have Sari be born as a half-human & half-gem (who doesn't know she is also half-cybertronian as well.)

so her gem that she gets from her Mom, is like her Other Spark.

I wonder how many will even like this idea that has to do with Sari being Blue Diamond's daughter, and with that whole theory about Megatron being Sari's Dad as well...

well this drawing does point out that her parents are Megatron, Ivaan Sumdac and Blue Diamond.

Sari will have the same powers as her Mother, but wont be able to use her positive powers where she can make others feel happy, until she discovers it herself...and it probably wont happen until she becomes a bit older...

and weird idea is that Sari's powers that she got from her Mom, don't just work on Gems, they also work on Cybertronians.

so picture Starscream crying uncontrollably and can't seem to stop.

it could make sense given that she is half-human, her power may also work on humans too...

the reason why Blue Diamond's power didn't work on Connie or Steven's Dad, is because Blue herself wasn't half-human or human at all.

so it could make sense that if Sari could make Cybertronians and Gems cry thanks to her being part Cybertronian and Gem herself...

then her Human half could let her make other humans cry as well.

I think when I'm able to, I will do another drawing of the Sari in this drawing, the blue outfit does seem to suit her.

if Sari is able to fuse, being able to fuse with a Human, Gem and even a Cybertronian...well, she might not end up fusing right away, but it doesn't mean she is not able to.

plus if Blue Diamond wasn't the only Gem in Detroit, then Professor Sumdac could of had some Gems help raise Sari.

like it could be The Off-Colors, Pink-Pearl, Spinel, Lapis, Peridot, Bismuth, Amethyst, Garnet and Pearl.

Alright, Earthspark time, here we go again. Talking about a show for little kids under the cut.

Fair warning I may be a little more critical than it deserves.

…You know, I wanted to like this one. And it's not like it's awful or anything. It's worse, it's incredibly mediocre. Not in the way where everything is bad but where the whole is less than the sum of its parts. Because there's some really good stuff in there!

And I think the main problem is that the show has a really hard time figuring out what it wants to be. A fresh spin? A celebration of the franchise's history? A silly slice of life show? A drama about moving past the horrors of war? It in some ways tries to be all of these and fails at doing any of them particularly well.

There's also how many themes it tries juggling. The two that kind of bother me are the one where I go "I think keeping the giant alien war criminals locked up or under surveillance is a really good idea actually", but I get it's more about people deserving second chances. Which is a good message and I'm reading it too literally. The one I WON'T let the writers get away with is the anti-racism stuff because here's the thing. The big problem with bigotry allegories is that you run the risk of making the bigots either have a point, or just plain be right. And you know what? They are kind of right. The Transformers DID drag Earth into their war that it had no purpose being in. Presumably a shit-ton of people died or lost their homes because of it. PEOPLE ARE UNDERSTANDABLY PISSED ABOUT THIS. STOP making bigotry allegories where the bigots have a point SHEESH.

Not helping is the fact the tone and writing feel juvenile (and SO schmaltzy) even by Transformers standards at times, which makes the show's attempts to tackle more serious topics feel kind of out of place. It's also paced really badly. Dragging at times and in others feeling rushed as heck. I think this might be a product of the show being released in batches. One pretty big example of the writing being not… great is the finale. We should not have a scene where Twitch is sad, gets a pep talk from Nightshade and everyone feels bolstered TWICE IN ONE EPISODE. Even if it is a 45 minute one.

It also tries to be a fresh spin on things while WALLOWING in nostalgia. I will take one or two references to previous material with a chuckle, by the 5th or 6th I'm wanting to put the writers in a windowless room until they come up with new material. In some cases it practically expects you to have prior knowledge in order for things to work. I have no doubt this series was written by fans of the franchise, but that's not always a good thing.

It's especially jarring when you have clear attempts to pull people in by teasing old characters. The most obvious being Soundwave and Starscream, who a lot of older fans would be waiting for, and then not doing anything with Soundwave and Starscream's episode being pretty meh (and I am dangerously worried they are going to make him boring). I hear there was a deleted plotline with them but that doesn't factor into talking about the actual show.

The characters are also kinda hit or miss. As for the Terrans I adore Twitch and Hashtag but the rest are just kind of… there? I don't really care about any of them. Nightshade is probably the most frustrating as I really like their introverted and romantic (in the classical sense) personality but their tech stuff usually gets annoying to me. Again, stuff I like a lot and stuff I don't. The human kid characters are just fairly annoying and I don't want them around (but that's normal for me it seems). The returning bots are mostly bit parts of varying quality (Grimlock was surprisingly dull, Wheeljack was fun, etc.) I love what they did with Bumblebee, this is my favourite one. I do like we're seeing more Elita-1, and I enjoy her 'cool aunt' demeanour. I was initially scoffing at Good Guy Megatron being a thing but I've come around on weird uncle warcrimes and I think he's one of the strongest characters. I just wish they'd stop doing the equivalent of having a rock fall on his head every other episode to take him out of the equation, by the end I was half-convinced I could take this Megatron in a fist fight.

(Powerscaling in general is a pretty big problem in this show)

And it mostly takes away what my favourite part of any Transformers show is. Which is watching the Decepticons be the most ridiculous evil army ever. But I get it wouldn't really fit here.

The animation is also a mixed bag. The human characters tend to look somewhat off, especially Mo who looks right out of the uncanny valley, and the textures are very… plasticky. Given these still are toy commercials it makes sense I suppose. In better news, the bot designs are by and large really good in this show, and the action scenes are often AWESOME.

And I like some of the ideas it brings to the table, I just think the execution is messy or covered in stuff I don't care about.

However, I will say a lot of shows have pretty mediocre first seasons. I think this will go one of two ways. It could pull itself together, figure out what it wants to be and put out a really good season 2, and possibly more if it doesn't get canned for tax purposes. Or it could could keep meandering and never really do much and eventually get canned for tax purposes. I am curious to see which way it goes.

I Adore Earthspark So So Much <3

Okay so I watched all episodes of Earthspark and AAAAAAA it's so good and I love it sooooooo much. It's everything I wanted for it and MORE(major spoilers ahead):

-The animation is AMAZING. I love the mix of 3D characters and background with all the special effects being in 2D. It's such an odd but cool style.

-I love the way the characters are animated, their motions are sooooo good and are on par with TFP's in that every character moves in their own way. Such as Twitch's fan-thingies wiggling when she's excited(which is super cute). As well as the action being so exciting and impactful hhhhhh I love it SO MUCH. That scene when Skywarp and Nova Storm attacked was SO GOOD. I love it when we get to see the human perspective and sheer scale of these fights, it's so cool and terrifying.

-I adore the human aspect and how well it's portrayed. I love them being this big loving family that all have each other's backs. And I LOVE how instantly Twitch and Thrash are part of this family and are immediately referred to as siblings and Dot & Alex's kids.

-Also one of my fave things is how the Decepticons are treated. I love them as villains but I also love the nuance presented that we honestly don't get that much in the shows. I love that multiple times there's a point in talking about how they're treated, why they do what they do, and that they aren't mindlessly evil and that they deserve to be seen as any other cybertronian.

-I love that that's also a major conflict. We get a hint at it in the first ep with the super amazing G1-style recounting in which the story is so superficial and watered down that even the characters themselves question it. And then we even have this disagreement between Optimus and Megatron, not only showing their different outlooks and way of thinking but how imperfect everything is(especially with GHOST trying to convince everyone everything is fine). I love that that discussion doesn't villainize either of them. OP doing what he has to do even if he doesn't fully trust it because he just wants to keep everyone safe and Megatron not wanting to sacrifice freedom and instead TAKE ACTION even if it'll result in having to fight. Which is SO THEM.

-I am also so intrigued about WHY Bumblebee is supposed to be dead and why GHOST can't know about him. WHAT HAPPENED I MUST KNOWWW.

-I love the diversity and how it's portrayed. I love Robby, Mo, and Dot having afro-textured hair. And the fact that Mo wears a bonnet and Robby a durag(I believe that's what it is, I'm manly familiar with women's afro hair care) when they sleep!!!! I don't think I've ever seen them in cartoons or at least not enough! Same goes for live action stuff that only ever uses them to make us look ghetto, ugh. But it made me so happy just seeing them casually wearing those items!!! Cuz I!!! Do!!! That!!!! And aaaaa, the way they portrayed Alex and his traditions??? I'm not familiar with them but god I love that they took the time to do that and build an entire episode off of it.

-And of course Nightshade!!!! FINALLY. They're fucking called Transformers for a reason shjdkflg. But in all seriousness, I'm so glad they were included. And I can't wait to see more of them. Cybertronians are like, practically built for gender expression and exploration??? Like I'm of the belief they just pick whatever frame and pronoun best fits them because there's really no reason for them to have the same outlook on gender and etc like humans do????? Especially being giant alien robots who reproduce by popping out of Primus' butthole.

-I also adore the music, especially the dubstep sounding theme that plays when Megatron first appears. Please I need like a 200 year loop of that please and thank you.

-I love the bots' designs so muchhhh. I tend to prefer the more sleek and humanoid designs so I love that they went with that while keeping some of the boxy, G1 style aspects. I love how colorful everyone is and the different styles they have.

-Arcee is sooooo pretty and has this super old and classic feel to her that I love so much???(Also her voice is AMAZING). I love that little metal grate thing on her midsection she has and just her overall look that sets her aside from all the others. OP's face looks like a car crash, but he's my dad so that's allowed. The rest of him is perfect and I love how big he and Megatron are. I love how Megs has this style that makes him look both friendly and intimidating. I'm pretty sure his shoulders are based off TFP megs shape-wise with the face(at least the 2D version seen in Dot's photo) being based off TFA's markings(or were those shadows, we will never know). Also Wheeljack's entire look is great. It's a bit hard to tell what's going on with his mouth but I love that they brought back the beard style he tends to have. Also his yeehaw voice is great, it's like an emphasis on his Cyberverse voice I love it so much.

-Also Papa Wheeljack owns my soul <3(who's gonna tell him he has 3 more kids now..?)

-Also also I love Bumblebee's design, mix of friend shape and badass which I love to see(def looks a lot like his Cyberverse style but with the vibes of G1 with the more matte styling). I also love his face so much, idk why it's just so great. Also love this dumbaft saying his "eyebrows don't look like that" when he doesn't even have any. Please get this bot a mirror.

-Speaking of no eyebrows....STORE BOUGHT ICE CREAM(starscream) HE'S HERE AND HE LOOKS GREAT AND HE'S FUCKING VOICED BY STEVE BLUM I'M GONNA LOSE IT AAAAAA

-Aligned Continuity took everyone's eyebrows, can't have shit in Earthspark.

-Also I love Frenzy's rockstar design so much. I wonder where Rumble is(idk too much about the cassettes yet but I do know those two are usually together).

-Also Skywarp and Nova Storm were so fucking badass. I loved the way they portrayed Skywarp's teleportation ability and even extended it to her being able to teleport items seperately(Could skywarp always do that???). I just love the seekers being so fucking badass which has me even more excited to see Stars Cream in action(also instead of null ray blasters were those blades on his arms???). And I hope we get to see most, if not the rest, of them!!! Manifesting Thundercracker and Buster rn.(and Sunstorm, please I want to see him and all of his batshitness)

-Soundwave was so badass. I'll admit, his design is kinda ehhh to me? Like he looks super badass and I'm lovin the funky hips, but idk he just doesn't hit like the others.

-Mandroid is also super fucking cool. His stolen arm is kinda meh and looks super awkward, but whatever Mr. Alone On a Friday Night you do you. He's like if Silas took a chill pill and didn't immediately steal everyone's kidneys and was like really really into Howl's Moving Castle. I'm super curious what else there is for him(cuz cmon he ain't dead) and what the backstory between him and Alex is since they were colleagues.

-Also love Dot's leg??? Like that was such a cool reveal it makes me wonder if there was any clue to it before that moment. I also just love her overall, how protective she is and how much of a great parent she is. I also love how close she is with Megatron?? I really wanna know how they became such close friends, which I assume has something to do with his ideals. Cuz she def seems more in line with his way of seeing things than OP. I guess she just likes how realistic he can be about things. But god I hope we get a flashback episode about those two.

-Also like last point because this is getting so long aghsdjkf but god I adore Twitch and Thrash. They are so adorable and so much fun to watch. I love their designs so much. I love how they're just straight up kids and are oh so very small(they're like the size of Megs and OP's forearm ahdjkf). I love Thrash's white and gold style and his super cool goggles(I'm a proud advocate of transformers with Accessories™). And Twitch's cool wing blade thingies she has. And just the overall thing of Twitch being the fighting type and Thrash being the defensive type. I hope the others have unique fighting styles, I can't wait to see their new designs.

-Also also Hashtag is the best name for a bot and whoever thought of it is a genius and I love them.

Overall I just absolutely ADORE this show and everything about it. This isn't even all my thoughts. I love the wholesome and lighthearted found family aspect with the serious and darker undertones and nuanced storytelling. I love that Earthspark is giving us the characters we love but being so amazingly unique at the same time. I love the post-war aspect and the humans and bots aspect both combined. I love the animation and the music and the storytelling and the designs and the voices and just EVERYTHING. I love the lore of the 13 primes being brought in and the emotional beats and the mystical feeling it all has. I love the..just the EVERYTHING. And I'm sooooo excited to see more.

Yandere TFE Tarantulas- The Possessive/Manipulative Yandere

Normally, this bot had a general distaste for humans. Most of them weren’t to be trusted. When he had first started his work at the cemetery he was sure that no humans would go to such a dreary place. 

One day when he was returning with some materials, you were there. You had a small kit with you- a brush, a spray bottle, a bag, and some cloth. Gloves adorned your hands as you gently scrubbed at the tombstones. 

He soon realized that you were cleaning the tombstones. Quietly, he went back into his lab. He hoped that you would go away, lest he have to take more serious measures. After a while, you left. 

A week later, you returned. This time, you were cleaning the grave in which he made his lab. He was so focused on his work that he failed to see you enter. 

“Ah, hello there. Is this your home? I’m sorry to bother you,” your gentle voice sounded. He quickly turned around. You had a blank look on your face as you looked at the spider bot.

He quickly stuck you to the ground with his webbing and skittered over towards you. “You will pay for entering my lab, human.” 

“Ah. Okay,” you shrugged, leaving him stumped. All he could do was stare at you as you looked around his lab. A light sparkle shone in your eyes. “What are you working on?”

Tarantulas squinted at you. He was going through all of the consequences of telling you in his processor, before you spoke again. “Oh- are you working on some kind of projection? No- this is more advanced than that. Hmmm.” 

His mandibles clicked lightly in shock. So you had some semblance of intelligence, unlike most humans. “It is a holomatter avatar. I haven’t been able to perfect it yet.” 

“Ah. Sorry, I’d help if I could. As much as I like looking at science, I’m not too good at it.”

Tarantulas made a spur of the moment choice and cut you free of your webbed prison. You quickly moved over to the tech that he’d built, looking on with fascination. 

Slowly but surely, you became his assistant. You knew some basics enough about tools and such that you could help him with minor things. He taught you as you helped him, too. You slowly became more knowledgeable to the point where you could make some suggestions to him. 

Eventually, a few months had passed. His lab had grown, and so had his compassion for you. You were an intellectual like him- you could be made into a scientist like him. 

You would stay longer and longer at his lab. Sometimes you’d be there for days on end, working away. Tarantulas had gotten you a bed for you to sleep on so that you wouldn’t have to leave as often. 

Every time you would have to leave for food or work, he got frustrated. He wished you could stay here all the time- which gave him an idea.

“You don’t have to work, you know. You could live here, and I could provide you with anything you might need. I could get you all the money you’ll need, and anything you want.”

You looked up at him with sadness. You knew he was lonely when you weren’t there. “I’m sorry… but I have to work. I like to work. I love helping the animals.” 

He scoffed at you, “Don’t you like to help me? Am I not enough?” 

You frowned at him. “I don’t mean it like that. I just… I like my job. I don’t know where you’d get the money from, either. Stealing is wrong, you know.” 

“It’s from G.H.O.S.T., so it shouldn’t matter. They’re a horrible organization. Stay here, with me! Every time you go out, it’s a bigger risk that I may be caught by them. Staying with me is safer.” 

Even being a little emotionally stunted, you knew something was off with what he was saying. “Tarantulas, maybe I shouldn’t come by as often as I do, then. I have been falling behind on paperwork at my job. I’ll see you later.” 

As you turned to leave, he jumped in front of you. “What do you think you’re doing? Do you really think I’d allow you to leave just like that? After everything I’ve done for you? I’ve taken care of you- I’ve given you a place to sleep, taken care of that rotten boss for you. You’re being selfish.” 

Your eyes furrowed in confusion. Your boss? The one that had gone missing a month ago? “Tarantulas… you didn’t…” 

“Oh. I did. You see, my dear, I’d do anything for you. Only I know what’s good for you. You’re a little lost right now- but such is the nature of a human. Don’t worry, I’ll guide you in the right direction. It’s my job as your teacher.”

You began to back up. There was a back entrance to this grave that you knew about. As soon as you moved to get away, your feet stuck to the ground. You collapsed to the ground with a grunt. Tarantulas had pinned you to the ground with his webbing. You reached for your pocket where your utility knife was held. Before you could reach it, another web pinned your entire upper body to the ground.

You looked up in fear as Tarantulas loomed over you. “Tarantulas! Let me go! You’re being…being… a monster!” 

His mandibles clicked in anger and he webbed your mouth shut. He picked up your webbed form and wrapped you tightly in more web so that only your head peeked out. He placed you on the bed not-so-gently. 

“Someday, you’ll see this is for your own good. Now, I’ll release you when I get back from my food run- since you clearly can’t be trusted to go by yourself.” Tarantulas stood at the exit before turning back to you, “If you somehow manage to escape, just know that I’ll pay those precious little animals a visit for you.” 

Tarantulas then left the room, shutting the heavy rock door behind him.

I just finished watching the newest episodes and I can't wait for the rest of them! The show continues to exceed my expectations with how well written all the main characters are shown, especially the Malto family, as well as the plot of each episode that are so engaging to watch, the fight scenes, all it was just MUAH 🥰🥰 (My comments don't go in an order of episodes lmfao)

They've tackled a number of topics normally I wouldn't see it being addressed like racism, xenophobia, generation related trauma (Thrash being upset that the new generation of Terrans are "facing problems caused by the previous generation and the expectations to clean up their messes"), gender identity (how alt modes are very tied to their identity) and omfg they include some other messed up shit like bots fighting in the arena to get energon (Sounds very familiar hmmm) and hint hint of Mandroid becoming more mechanical??? ALSO GHOST IS GROWING EVEN MORE SUS ESPECIALLY WITH AGENT CROFT I HATE HER ALR I WANNA KILL HER

I fucking love Megatron in this show, my god he just usurp Optimus' role as the father here (Or grandpa in this case). I mean, HE TOOK THE MALTOBOTS TO THE WAR MEMORIAL TO TELL EM OLD STORIES ABOUT THE WAR TO TEACH THEM TO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKES AS THE PREVIOUS GENERATION AND I 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 (THE FLOWERS BEING A REFERENCE TO IDW WHERE EACH PETAL OF THE FLOWERS REPRESENT A LIFE LOST JUST KILLED ME RIGHT THERE)

AND NIGHTSHADE AND TARANTULAS,,, bunch of science nerds can relate ifhkdnksj,, I would die happy if Tarantulas can make a comeback to see Nightshade again and be his second papa like how Wheeljack is second papa to Twitch 🥺🥺❣️💕

My boy Jawbreaker,, I really love how he wasn't forced to choose an altmode so soon and it just going to get a lot more impactful when he finally scans an altmode that he feels is right for him! He so autistic coded and I luv it when Megatron and Elita explained to him how they got their alt modes and what it meant for them (ELITA SOFTIE MOMENT IS JUST 😭😭💞💕💞💕💞)

God, the dynamic of the Malto bots is just so super wholesome and so tightly knitted, but Twitch grew up too fast,, They all need fucking therapy, especially Hashtag my poor girl 😭

I am a huge Optimus stan, so I have a bit of bitterness at the fact that throughout 11-18, he was barely involved. Like

God, I love Optimus as a whole, even in this show but he seems so... Distant? I mean, I'm not hating the writers and animators for the lack of Optimus screentime, it's just me being a bit salty (Though I am a Megatron simp too at this point so my thirst has been at least quenched by him). I really hope there's more screentime of him (Especially him and Megatron becuz first few episodes the both were lowkey 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈) and we get a bigger picture of his role in the show in the future episodes. He barely talks to the Maltos and the Terrans, he's barely seen anywhere in the recent episodes, hell where the hell was he when the jailbreak happened???

okay okay like so i am like. literally foaming at the mouth about motormaster all the time lately. for like the last two? weeks ? something like that.

anyway i love this fucking truck so much. he is awful and he sucks, and for some reason this is deeply endearing to me personally. I llove him. I have feelings for and about him. I am going to kill him to dead with my own two bare human hands and he can't stop me. because I love him.

anyway one of the things that makes the stunticons as a whole interesting to me is that they're very young, relatively speaking! they have very little life experience. they're like the terrans in earthspark (fucking psyched to see that by the way) in that they have never seen prewar cybertron, they have never spent any time outside the decpeticons on earth, and they don't really know anything about their past, their culture, their history, or, frankly, anything else. You learn from experience and most of their experience is being kind of ignored and left to their own devices when they're not being ordered to do stuff for megatron. Who's gonna teach them shit?

and like motormaster SUCKS but at least in part because he's like if you gave a 25 year old a giant sword, told him he was meant to be in charge of other people by nature, and then made sure he had zero experience socializing with anyone ever. Like they come out of vector sigma knowing how to fight, but they are not functional people. they suck and they are useless and Motormaster is in charge of them and also the worst, because he's technically an officer so he doesn't have to learn to play nice with the rank and file the same way the others do, and he also doesn't have to work with teammates to avoid getting in trouble like the others do.

Like okay listen. listen. He's stupid as fuck and he's very naive and the Decepticons say their thing is might makes right even though it's really not just might makes right and i hit you if you don't listen, right? They run around lying and cheating and stealing through most of g1 but might makes right. okay sure lord megatron totally. whatever. but this man is ten minutes old and smart as a brick. of course hes gonna buy in. Do you think he has the necessary level of experience to say "my authority figure is lying to me"?

and, like, living on might makes right alone under the thumb makes it really obvious how much of "might makes right" is nonsense, actually. Where under "might makes right" is "hey i got something you want and ill swap it to you if you cover my ass when motormaster asks who broke his cd player", you know? So much of human interaction and simple basic behavior does not fit into the paradigm and its pretty obvious IF YOU ARE UNDER IT. But Motormaster is not under it. And motormaster has no fucking friends.

like. it rots the fuck. it rots your brain. it rots your ability to relate to people when you're classing them "i could beat you" vs "you could beat me" and not "we are both people on the same side who want the same shit". it fucks your ability to socialize when everything is a power game and anything that isnt a fistfight is a prelude to what is obviously the relevant social posturing, aka, a fistfight. it fucks up your ability to even have a normal conversation when you need to hide all your insecurities so you stay on top, and make no mistake, motormaster does not even see an option outside staying on top.

if he were older and had a little more going on under the hood id say he were afraid of not being on top but i dont think he's even grasped that that was an OPTION like. i do not think he understands what might makes right MEANS. i don't think he understands that if someone gets the better of him that he's now down under the thumb with the rest of them. I don't think he has ever thought about it. Why should he? He's stronger and they're weaker and that's the natural and correct order of these things, when would that ever change?

like a lot of these thoughts are really so complex that i cant even communicate them properly in words i have to write fic about it to pin down what i mean. when i say i write fic instead of meta this is what i mean. the relationships the stunticons have are all like. they genuinely clearly care about each other or they would have fucking killed each other within ten minutes of experiencing each other's company i am fucking telling you. breakdown or drag strip would've done it, they're the ones with the most obvious stress lines that motormaster and the others are always pressing on. so there is some reason they haven't done it. and they all seem to really buy into the Cause and the Decepticon Line and for the most part that means they buy into might makes right. whoever strikes the first felling blow wins.

BUT IT DOESNT like the ritual fucking combat between Megatron and Starscream is clearly like

I. I don't know in g1 the violence they do on each other is actually really pretty low-key all things told. more people and more eloquent than i ahve talked about how weird it is that megatron "lets" starscream live but if you assume its pageantry for the troops to remind you that Leader is Strongest(tm) or whatever and Starscream, the only one willing to strike out against Leader, is bold enough to be second in command. when starscream really gets bold about it megatron really escalates too but that's rare for them. they don't do that often. you can sort of put it in as a ritual, it seems like it is, like it's real combat but it's a game. they're not really meaning it every single time. and its clearly on display for a REASON or starscream would just poison Megatron and be done with it. He's probably got his name in the will, you know? SIC inherits if Commander dies unless something is UP.

And we see it with TFTM too. When Megatron is dying and the Decepticons start arguing over who should be leader its couched in terms of strongest-

THEY DO NOT. so it doesn't make SENSE to say that the whole army is like that. but its how leadership is transferred and i think it IS reasonable to say that the stunticons don't really get the pageantry yet. So they think Motormaster has to die, and it's sort of allowed, like it's not really but its how it works. And they haven't killed him yet, so there's something else there, like, despite everything they actually give a shit about this stupid idiot truck in charge of them

and i think there's another side to it, too, which is that he understands what his job and the expectations he's meant to meet are very clearly. he is in charge of his team so he represents his team. if his team fucks up that means HE fucks up. If command wants to take it up with anyone they can take it up with HIM (even though he'll go back and take that out on all four of his subordinates because he's mad and hitting them really hard is a convenient outlet. he sucks). His job is to be the guy who Command gives orders to because he is the strongest and he is the guy who Command gives punishment to because he is the strongest. He is the guy who is supposed to defend and stand up for the rest of the team because he is the strongest. Like, he definitely sees himself as like, 'earning' the right to beat the shit out of the other four by defending them from being beaten on by anyone else. If anyone tries to hassle HIS dumbfuck cars they get to fight HIM and he will hurt them until they will not do that ever again. Because that is his job. Because he is the strongest.

I think the other four know this, but like, they still resent him for the rest of it. It's not worth it. At least if they were being picked on by the rest of the faction they could lock them out. Motormaster lives with them. He's inside their heads. There is nowhere for them to go when they need a break unless he decides they deserve one. As you may imagine, no one is happy with this situation except Motormaster

except like he's NOT

he's not happy with this EITHER like you can SEE it he's so fucking unfulfilled and he thinks it's because his team gets in his way and they aren't respected enough and that might be part of it but i really don't think it is. he has no positive social contacts. He has his team but they kind of hate and fear him more than just about anything else, even if they do care about him somewhere in there. He's too busy being competitive and keeping his spot on the pile to have friends outside the faction. And he's too conscious about who lives underneath him and is a subordinate and a target to have any friends in the rank and file. He has cut himself off from every possible angle of positive social feedback and he is too fucking naive and inexperienced to see it because as far as he knows this is just his life! this is how it's always been! why should he want different? what even is there to change?

and the answer is, like, a lot of things, but nothing he thinks is important, you know? Friends is an autobot thing, that's for losers, and he doesn't need anyone anyway. he has his team. and they have him... right?

and then the like. the other bit that gets me is that like. he has no choice. he is this way because he is, not because he chose to be. So it's hard to know what he'd be like if you gave him options. But I don't think he'd choose to be any different now that he's gotten a taste. he likes being on top too much. The minute you concede that might doesn't make right, he loses a lot of the position he has, because he has to admit that the people under him have some kind of right, too, and they can get to him and if he fucks up they can fuck him up even though they're superficially physically weaker. He's got reason to maintain these beliefs. He likes being on top of the pile and I don't think he likes feeling like there's anywhere else he might be.

ANON!! i am extremely flattered that you asked me this but I have to admit, I am still somewhat new to transformers myself dfsksdkls So far I've only seen Animated, Prime, Earthspark, and all the live action Bayverse movies including Bumblebee Knightverse. I still wanna watch G1 and the Unicron trilogy (i think thats what its called) along with Cyberverse. Plus I wanna read the comics too. Good lird there's a whole lot of 'formers. Most of what I know when it comes to the continuities I haven't seen yet have been from tumblr posts. I dont know how much you've seen or what you watched so I'll answer as though you're brand new BUT in my honest opinion I think I'd start with the G1 cartoon! Most (maybe all) of the episodes are on youtube last time I saw, and I think it's the one that captures the spirit of transformers the best. Like I said I haven't actually seen it yet but it's my favorite just from what I have seen floating around. I myself started with the Bumblebee movie which was very good and I loved it and I'm glad my best friend started with that one for me cause Bumblebee was one of the only transformers I knew (the others being Optimus Prime and Megatron) and I was like ok this is great I wanna see more AND THEN my friend had me watch the Animated series next which I also loved but it also spoiled me a little bit because it has my favorite version of Megatron and so now whenever I see a different continuity Meg i'm like "man i miss animated megan. he was the best. loved his voice." Earthspark Megatron is extremely good tho like he's sailing up to the top for me. So after G1 I'd watch either Earthspark or Bumblebee movie next. BB Movie is just a slight Bumblebee origin story (when it comes to his time on Earth, not his like. actual childhood or anything) and it focuses exclusively on him and Charlie the human girl but it's very fun and if you like Bumblebee you'd love it (hopefully) Earthspark is kinda doing it's own thing. It's post-war and focusing on new characters, but old characters are still pivotal to it and honestly the animation alone is *French Kiss*. Super nice, if you like found family themes then this will be your cake and platter because that's literally the entirety of the show. Animated is extremely good too, I gotta shout it out. Everyone looks different and the plot line is kinda to the left of the normal "Autobot vs Decepticon 4 million year war" plot. Their chins are huge for some reason. BUT IT'S GREAT, I've seen it said that it's a series that ended too soon and LITERALLY YEAH. EVERYONE WHO'S SEEN MOURNS OVER THE CANCELLED SEASON 4 OF IT. INCLUDING ME. I need to rewatch it though now that I know all the characters better from the other continuities. Prime is also good, like it's very popular from what I've seen and I did enjoy it. It's a bit more on the serious side, like the mood and the lighting and plot are all darker compared to other continuities, but the Megatron in it is just so... wacky?? if that's the word I'm looking for, but like he's so strange it's impossible to take the show seriously in my opinion KLJDFSKLDS. The characters are all beautiful even though it's a bit uncanny since in this one the bots don't have noses. I can't stand Prime Starscream tho. But that's just me, don't let what I say bias you. The Michael Bay (Bayverse) directed live action movies are... okay. Like I didn't dislike them particularly, but there's a reason why many people don't like them DSLKJSD they're not that good imo. However, I did love the Age of Extinction movie idk what it was about that movie but I rewatched it like 11-12 times and I forced like 3 of my friends to watch it with me. I loved that movie. It was the only movie out of the Bayverse ones that I liked. The best parts of those movies to me were just the scenes where the actual transformers show up, but it wasn't a lot. And those are just the ones that I have seen personally. I couldn't tell you which comic you should read first, or what other continuity you should dabble in, cause I'm still trying to get through everything myself. I don't even have one of the games yet😔BUT you can probably start anywhere and eventually the more you expose yourself to them, the more everything makes sense!
